There were 23 Races on Sunday 17th August 2025 across 3 meetings. There was 9 races at Southwell, 7 races at Pontefract, 7 races at Tramore, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.

Back to winning ways at Thirsk last week, GOLDEN PROSPERITY is fancied to have plenty more improvement forthcoming now returned to handicaps and the six-year-old can follow up. Poet has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his second over 7f at Newcastle, while Piperstown has been beaten three times since a winning run earlier in the year but remains capable of making an impact.

A return to form could be imminent for either So Grateful or GLENDOWN and they are preferred in an unappealing sprint.

DANDY'S ROCKET scored from a subsequent winner on his nursery debut at Leicester and a 6lb rise for that narrow success may not be enough to prevent him from landing the double. A promising third when keeping on from the rear at Hamilton, Head For Freedom is of considerable interest, as is Akabusi, who has been much improved since being gelded and wasn't beaten far when attempting to complete a Nottingham brace.

The 6f may well prove a significant help for Leicester nursery winner DANDY'S ROCKET and handicap newcomer Thehunnebelllegacy.

A more aggressive ride saw RAULIN make all over C&D three weeks ago and there is every chance that a similar outcome could occur. A 2lb rise for the son of Mehmas looks workable and he edges the vote over Dawn Of Liberation. The six-year-old arrives on the back of a close-up third at Ayr and another bold showing is forecast, while Love Talk is likely to prove more competitive reverting to handicap company.

The 3yo RAULIN and the consistent Dawn Of Liberation fought out the finish over C&D three weeks ago and Raulin can win again.
Class & Speed Card

GREY JAGUAR has displayed plenty of greenness but shaped with promise on both starts over 7f, and dropping back to 6f could sharpen his mind as he looks to get off the mark for connections that have been in excellent form of late. Wild Clary remains a maiden after eight starts, but is entitled to be a leading contender following a strong runner-up effort at Newbury. Fierce Fortitude is another to note.

This might be the day that WILD CLARY belatedly gets his head in front. Newbury last time was up there with his best efforts.
Class & Speed Card

Dual point-to-point winner BOLD FURY should be capable of opening his account at the sixth time of asking under Rules. He ran a very encouraging race on his first start over hurdles when only headed after the last and although that Roscommon form has taken a knock since, Stuart Crawford's charge should have enough here under regular rider Thomas Kileff. Migdam should improve from his hurdles debut when fifth at Bellewstown, making smooth progress after the second-last and staying on to be closest at the finish. Cosmos D'ainay will have to leave behind his first start over hurdles if he is to figure, but he shouldn't be discounted.

Bold Fury sets the standard on hurdles form, but it may pay to keep the faith with COSMOS D'AINAY, whose bumper form is the best

The market is likely to prove informative in this contest full of newcomers, with a tentative vote going to MR SEAGULL. Hugo Palmer's colt is a half-brother to five winners, most notably the Group-placed Ekhtiyaar, and he could take plenty of stopping if sharing a similar level of ability. Delinquent should comfortably get the trip judged on his pedigree and he's feared most, ahead of Great Success.

There's plenty of potential in the pedigree of MR SEAGULL and he earns the vote ahead of Great Success.

WARM SUMMER was second at Lingfield on her only start last year. With the winner going on to place twice at Group 3 level and finishing fourth in the Coronation, the form has a solid look to it and her trainer can get one ready after an absence. Rock Iguana looks her biggest rival after a close-up Wolverhampton third, although Shamacid ran well for a long way on his debut and can only improve for the experience.

The standout contenders are ROCK IGUANA and Warm Summer. It was a useful novice the selection should have won on his debut.

MAY CALL YOU BACK has recently been mixing chasing and hurdling and has managed to register three wins from five starts since joining Willie Mullins. She is now 10lb higher than for her last chase success, which may leave her slightly vulnerable, but she is a proven winner in an open contest. Surviving Murmansk is a 39-race maiden under both codes, but his recent Kilbeggan second was encouraging and, under a light weight with Harry Sexton's 7lb claim, he should be there in the latter stages. Market support for Eastmore or Arthur's Victory would be of major interest coming from shrewd yards.

Not many appeal here. The safest choice appears to be MAY CALL YOU BACK, who has prospered since joining Willie Mullins and

Having relished a drop in class when scoring at Ripon earlier this month, Precious Spartan merits respect in his current vein of form. However, this rise in class could leave Patrick Neville's charge vulnerable and preference is for SAXONIA. The son of Saxon Warrior arrives on the back of a good second on the all-weather and, racing off an unchanged mark, he makes grand appeal reverting to turf. Zarathos is also worth a second look.

Precious Spartan is respected but this could go to fellow 3yo SAXONIA, who won at Newmarket in June and was second on AW last time.

Great Dream showed promise when third on his second start back in January and he may well mount a challenge. Lord Montague only went under by a neck at Lingfield and is another who can go well, but FIRST AMBITION could have their measure. Karl Burke's gelding ran on well to win over 7f in the Newcastle event in which Great Dream was third and can only improve for both the run and the extra furlong.

The consistent ULTRASOUL looks the one to beat with the form of his Lingfield reappearance having received a few boosts since.
Class & Speed Card

FULL OF LIFE should be able to open her account over hurdles at the fifth time of asking for Henry de Bromhead. She was purchased by Roger Kissane for 70,000 pounds after winning a Borris House point-to-point, but she has failed so far to score under Rules. The Great Pretender mare would have a good chance here on her early starts, but her latest performance will have to be forgiven. The Monkey Pole performed incredibly well on his Rules debut when a staying-on second at 50-1 and he can improve from that outing. Courtbrack Boy is noted too.

Full Of Life has posted the highest RPR but lacks a recent run and is opposed by THE MONKEY POLE, who shaped really well at Wexford
Class & Speed Card

Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr teamed up to win this last season and they are back for more with Stormy Impact, a winner at Wolverhampton last month. She can go well, but Irish raider NO ALIBI gets the nod after winning her last two at Cork and Limerick. She might need to be produced late, but she looks capable of taking the step up in class in her stride. Rhyme Dust is another to bear in mind.

Stormy Impact is respected but preference is for the unexposed Irish challenger NO ALIBI, who is bred to be a force at this level.
Class & Speed Card

Newcomer Azura is a half-sister to a dual Group 2 winner and is one to watch for Jack Channon, whose horses are in good form. Balticum showed some promise with a fourth at Newmarket on his second start and he is one to watch on his return, but VINCENT ROCKS may be able to give weight away all round after winning on debut at Nottingham, despite looking as if the experience would bring plenty of improvement.

It looks as though VINCENT ROCK has found himself in the right division with his Nottingham win 17 days ago having been franked.
Class & Speed Card

WORLD OF FORTUNES was the pick of these over hurdles and may prove difficult to beat if taking to the larger obstacles. The Liam Kenny-trained mare won twice at Listed level last season, including over 3m at Doncaster. Point-to-point winner Cobra Queen scored twice over hurdles, including over this trip at Ballinrobe last autumn, and had Costanuci over three lengths behind when just denied in a mares' beginners chase over an extended 2m3f at Tipperary. Littlebiggie holds Costanuci and Gers Gigi on running behind Ma Belle Etoile at Wexford.

As a Listed hurdles winner, WORLD OF FORTUNES (nap) should be too strong for these rivals if making an error-free transition to chasing

Equity Law won by a head at Thirsk earlier this month, but a rise in class off 3lb higher might mean he has to settle for a place. DAN TUCKER was a beaten favourite at Goodwood last month, but that was on heavy ground and both his wins have been on a quicker surface including a C&D win off 4lb lower two starts ago. Ventura Express has won here four times and is another to consider.

Dan Tucker isn't fully exposed at 5f but VENTURA EXPRESS has conditions to suit and can register another C&D success.
Class & Speed Card

Having shown a willing attitude to score in the shadows of the post at Newmarket earlier this month, Rogue Diplomat warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 3lb rise in the ratings and switch to the all-weather does demand more from James Owen's colt and it could be worth taking a punt on PHILANTHROPIST. The son of Sergei Prokofiev is returning to the C&D of his last triumph and looks more than capable of scoring at this level. Fondo Blanco is also noted.

One who could still have potential is FONDO BLANCO, who was a good second on his handicap debut and remains unexposed over 7f.
Class & Speed Card

THE DASHER CONWAY is a course winner and reached a career-high rating of 133 last year having won over 2m4f at Kilbeggan, along with a number of placed efforts. He has dropped back down to an attractive mark and given some encouragement on his latest couple of starts. Gabriel Ranger won at Killarney on his latest chase appearance, while others to consider include Tullyveery Lad and Wine An Dine. Lake Chad has won three times here over fences, including this race last year off a mark of 97, and gained his latest success at Thurles in February.

Though slightly disappointing in a Galway race in which he was second last season, THE DASHER CONWAY gets the vote in this lower grade
Class & Speed Card

The in-form Cosmic Soul won a weaker race at Catterick last month and a 5lb higher mark demands more of him, while Carlton has also been in good heart but needs everything to go his way off top-weight. It could be worth siding with KENTUCKY RIVER, whose weight-for-age allowance gives him a potential advantage on these terms. Unexposed as a stayer, Ollie Sangster's three-year-old looks the way to go.

Having bumped into a progressive fellow 3yo when a clear second at Doncaster last time, KENTUCKY RIVER gets the nod.
Class & Speed Card

WHATSGOINGONMARVIN finished third in what looked a stronger event at Sandown and there is a sneaking suspicion that he can win off an unchanged mark. The son of Camelot shouldn't have any issues debuting on Tapeta and a third career victory may beckon. The biggest threat might emerge from fellow three-year-old Divot, who arrives on the back of a close-up second at this track. Papagei is also noted.

There may still be more to come from WHATSGOINGONMARVIN (nap), who is 2-4 since switched to handicaps this summer. Divot is feared.
Class & Speed Card

ITSALONGLONGROAD returns to his favourite track having won four times at this venue. He beat all bar Clarens on his latest chase start here in May and has also been placed here since on the Flat. Point-to-point winner Lady Rose Hackett has made the frame a couple of times over hurdles and is an interesting recruit to fences, while Mist On The Bog is another to consider.

Point winner LADY ROSE HACKETT may show the benefit of a hurdles run at Kilbeggan to score on her first attempt over fences
Class & Speed Card

The four last-time-out winners are the ones to focus on. THUNDEROUS LOVE is forwarded as the pick of the bunch, with a 4lb rise for her dominant Salisbury triumph noted as a fair assessment. Lady Wingalong can figure if dropping back down to 6f doesn't catch her out, while the less-exposed Vibrant Pearl debuts in a handicap on a workable mark. Carlton And Co is an infrequent winner but is still on a feasible rating despite a 4lb rise for her Redcar win.

The prolific THUNDEROUS LOVE (nap) keeps defying the handicapper and can post her sixth win of the season. Vibrant Pearl is feared.

LA CONFINER represents the champion trainer and it will be interesting to see how strong she is in the market on debut. The daughter of No Risk At All, out of a winner on the Flat in France, cost 34,000 euros as a three-year-old at Goffs. Run For Mahler looks the chief threat having shown some promise at Roscommon in a bumper that has thrown up a couple of subsequent winners, before filling the runner-up spot at Sligo earlier this month. Something Fabulous went close on her only point-to-point start and had Sing My Story behind when finishing in mid-division on her debut under Rules at Galway.

The standard among those with form is not particularly intimidating and LA CONFINER may be equal to the task on his debut
