Beronia has placed on all three appearances over 6f to date and this 7f trip looks likely to suit. George Boughey's filly is a big player, but there are some intriguing newcomers on show, with the well-bred MAGICAL TRAIL making most appeal. The daughter of Blue Point is a half-sister to the Group 3-placed Romantic Rival and she's likely to know her job. Fellow debutants Bintjeddah and Jowddah must also be watched in the market.

MAGICAL TRAIL should be sufficiently well forward to do herself justice first time out and, without the benefit of market clues, she's fancied to make a winning debut. Beronia is a clear player having put up three solid showings to date and Jowddah is another notable newcomer.

Beronia sets the standard, but there are some interesting newcomers up against her such as MAGICAL TRAIL who gets the vote.

A progressive sort last season, SHADOW DANCE looked to be back on track when second at Ripon a month ago. The son of Almanzor is likely to be much better suited by going back left handed and he is narrowly preferred to the improving Wafei, and Mr Monaco, who should appreciate going up in trip after an emphatic success over 1m2f at Sandown last time out. A winner over C&D in July and consistent since, Lieber Power is another to note, along with Grey Cuban and Insanity.

MR MONACO is a progressive 3-y-o who should have more to offer now stepping up to 1½m so he's preferred to solid older rivals Lieber Power, who has been performing so well in the Racing League in recent weeks, Insanity and Shadow Dance.

Wafei may have the most potential but there are other good candidates and the two to focus on may be INSANITY and Derry Lad.

EAGLE ONE was comfortable at the finish when getting up over shorter here last time out, and stepping back up in trip should not inconvenience him, given he performed with credit when third over 2m at Lingfield on his penultimate outing. It's All About You, who returned to winning ways with a taking performance at Ayr last month and has run well over this distance before, can give him the most to think about. Captain Haddock and Parikarma have the form to get involved too.

EAGLE ONE was confidently ridden by his amateur pilot when scoring here earlier this month and the pair are fancied to go in again. It's All About You and Parikarma are feared most.

It might be worth chancing CUBANA HABANA, who was below form here this month but went close over C&D in June and is well handicapped.

The market should prove informative for Half Moon Bay on debut and the son of New Bay certainly won't be found lacking for stamina over 7f judged on his pedigree. However, AL MISBAR should have learned plenty from his fourth-placed debut in a class 2 event at Ascot last month and he may find enough improvement to open his account. Valiant Knight and Stenmark are also noted.

AL MISBAR was a very expensive yearling with good reason, a relation to the outstanding Battaash, so he's worth a chance to build on an underwhelming debut by getting off the mark here. Valiant Knight is also open to improvement and Half Moon Bay is an interesting newcomer.

Expensive yearling STENMARK gets the nod on the strength of his form on a second visit to Doncaster. Al Misbar is next best.

Aidan O'Brien looks to have a prime candidate in POINT LONSDALE, who has long shaped as though he would relish this trip. A taking winner of the Ormonde at Chester in May and a promising third in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud since, the son of Australia looks primed for a big run. Vauban had the reopposing Gregory (third) behind when runner-up in the Yorkshire Cup here in May, and both are likely to be thereabouts once again. A comfortable winner of a Group 3 here last month, Alsakib continues to progress and may turn out to be the main danger to the selection.

GREGORY put his Gold Cup shocker behind him when just edged out for second in the Goodwood Cup and can record his first win since making all in the Queen's Vase at Ascot as a 3-y-o. Vauban needs to shrug off a disappointing run at the Curragh but he finished in front of the selection in the Yorkshire Cup here and is an obvious threat, with Point Lonsdale another to consider with the extra distance likely to suit.

Gregory may prove best of the established stayers but ALSAKIB and Point Lonsdale are preferred on their first appearance at 2m.

Despite a tardy start and running green throughout much of the contest, ETERNAL ELIXIR shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Haydock recently and, with normal improvement expected, he may be able to get off the mark. Gloryous outran huge odds to finish an encouraging second at Salisbury last week and she looks the main danger to the selection, ahead of newcomer Blue Tempus.

ETERNAL ELIXIR looks a sure-fire improver on the back of his recent encouraging Haydock debut and can open his account. Gloryous and Stage Effect rate the principal dangers.

After keeping on well from the rear for third on his recent Haydock debut, ETERNAL ELIXIR is open to significant improvement.

A switch to turf proved just the tonic for ALL AGLEAM when making all at Lingfield last time out. The Andrew Balding-trained filly scored with something in hand that day and she looks more than capable of following up off a 6lb higher rating. Handicap debutant Dianara is interesting on her seasonal bow and the three-year-old isn't taken lightly racing off what appears a workable mark. Having returned to form in first-time blinkers when runner-up at Haydock recently, Star Mind is also worth a second look.

ALL AGLEAM got back on the up when scoring at Lingfield last time and she's fancied to improve further to defy her reassessed mark. Star Mind is an obvious danger if the blinkers work again, while Bernalda is another one with the potential for better.

This can go to BERNALDA who makes her handicap debut after having probably run into a nice newcomer at Redcar last time.

Having been worn down late on at the Curragh and Goodwood on his latest starts, THE STRIKIN VIKING just about sets the standard on form, and returning to a track where he scored on debut in June is a big plus. Big Mojo arrives after a taking success in the Molecomb, but he must now prove himself over 6f. Andesite makes his long awaited return after scoring on debut over C&D in May. Runner-up to a subsequent Group 1 winner at the Curragh last month, Camille Pissarro should be thereabouts, along with the unbeaten Shadow Of Light.

THE STRIKIN VIKING has arguably shaped best in a couple of Group 2s since his impressive debut success over this C&D so remains one to keep on the right side of. Big Mojo looks another classy sprinter for connections having defied inexperience in the Molecomb and rates the main threat ahead of the exciting Shadow of Light.

The suggestion is promising colt ANDESITE, ahead of solid The Strikin Viking in an open-looking Gimcrack.

A winner over 1m here in June, CALM WATERS should appreciate a return to the Welsh track, and this represents a slight drop in grade for the daughter of Make Believe. The fact she stays further should be a plus on soft ground and Rod Millman's charge gets the vote ahead of Diamondsinthesand, who has dropped 1lb below his last winning mark. Another capable sort on her day, Mayz must enter calculations too.

CALM WATERS has already scored twice this season's and Rod Millmna's filly looks the most solid option on the back of a creditable effort at Sandown last time. Thunderous Love arrives after a pair of below-par efforts but should get conditions to suit, with Diamondsinthesand taken to complete the placings.

Class-dropper CALM WATERS is taken to collect her third win of the season. My Clementine is feared most.

GREAT CHIEFTAIN produced a bit of shock to score by just under a length in a warm handicap at Goodwood earlier in the month and the handicapper may have been kind to only put him up 6lb. The son of Gleneagles looks to have been found a golden opportunity to make it three wins from his last four starts. Gressington has filled the top two places the last twice, including a win at Beverley, and could land a blow, while Charming Whisper is the pick of the remainder.

None of these can be ruled out but CHARMING WHISPER is fancied to gain compensation for his unlucky Brighton fourth last time out and bag a third victory of 2024. Great Chieftain arrives at the top of his game though and seems sure to pose a big threat, while in-form trio Gressington, Al Mootamarid and Royal Velvet all command plenty of respect too.

Top of the list is GREAT CHIEFTAIN (nap), who found more progress with his stylish win at Goodwood. Gressington is feared most.

Already established as two of the world's fastest sprinters, ASFOORA and Big Evs are honours even from their Group-race clashes at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood and stand out as they as the gear up for round three of their personal battle. The margins will surely be tight if both run up to expectations but, armed with a 6lb turnaround after a short-head defeat in the King George Stakes, Asfoora shades the narrowest of votes over her arch enemy. Regional and Believing are no back numbers and can give the 'big two' a good run for the money. Whereas City Walls winner Starlust has only raced four times over the minimum distance and could be a surprise package. 2023 hero Live In The Dream appeals for a place this time.

As is often the case at the top of the sprinting division there's plenty of collateral form to go on. Having beaten several of these at Ascot, ASFOORA emerged with bundles of credit when a short-head second to Big Evs at Goodwood and on 6 lb better terms, she's poised to reverse the form. Believing also ties nicely in with that pair, while Bradsell may actually emerge as the chief threat.

Asfoora is likely to be finishing strongly but BRADSELL can improve on last year's third in this race and gets the vote.

The most appealing option is MAKE A SCENE, who comes here after running well in defeat on consecutive outings this summer.

TYPICAL WOMAN won by no less than 17 lengths in an apprentice handicap at Newbury last week and she gets to compete off the same rating. Considering the manner of that victory, she is very difficult to oppose. Bruno's Gold made a perfect start for the Peter Niven stable when scoring at Pontefract last time and is noted, while Sunset In Paris rates best of the rest.

TYPICAL WOMAN spreadeagled her field at Newbury last time and is hard to oppose having escaped a penalty for that apprentice handicap success here. Pontefract winner Bruno's Gold can chase home Ian Williams' improver ahead of Eljaytee.

This should go to TYPICAL WOMAN who avoids a penalty for her 17l romp in a Newbury apprentice event a week ago.

The 3yo BATTLE QUEEN has run fine races in defeat over 1m the last twice and is open to further improvement now she's up in trip.

Iconique occupied the runner-up berth in handicap company at Bath earlier in the month and it would be no surprise to see her get into contention. However, she could come out second best to GOODWOOD VISION, who has dropped to a very workable mark and she caught the eye keeping on for fourth over 1m at Windsor last week. Rita Rana is another to note.

ICONIQUE has just the one success to her name but having impressed with how she moved through the race when runner-up at Bath 3 weeks ago, Tony Carroll's mare is fancied to go a place better dropped into classified company for the first time. Goodwood Vision is next best.

She's on a lengthy losing streak but ICONIQUE has not been with Tony Carroll long and is eased in grade after a good recent second.
Class & Speed Card

Aulis has filled the runner-up spot on each of his last three outings and has proven to be expensive to follow, but it would be foolish to dismiss him completely. However, REGAL CONNECTION looks the way to go. Charlie Appleby's three-year-old has shown a fair amount of ability in his three starts in maiden/novice company and is bred to be a lot better than a mark of 80. The Thunderer completes the shortlist.

THE THUNDERER signalled he's ready to end a losing sequence when runner-up here a week ago and can take full advantage of a 2 lb lower mark. Aulis might have to settle for runner-up spot once more with the much less exposed Old Saxony also in the mix along with Golden Phase and Regal Connection.

Preference is for the unexposed REGAL CONNECTION who has shown plenty of promise in his last two runs and looks on a fair opening mark.
Class & Speed Card

YAMAL may be worth siding with here on his handicap debut. The Dark Angel had two good runs on his first couple of outings in strong maidens and although it was a slightly disappointing effort last time at Leopardstown he was far from disgraced when sixth behind Green Impact. Judged on his first two runs he could be nicely treated off 80. King Thistle ran better than his finishing position suggests when mid-division on his handicap debut at Galway, having had to overcome traffic problems. He could give young Patrick McGettigan a good spin here. Shocker wasn't beaten far when fourth in a Bellewstown maiden last time and is another for the shortlist.

YAMAL's opening mark could be judged as lenient given how his debut performance worked out and having been gelded, he's fancied to get back on track. The Marty Party is expected to show more this time, the Sunriseontheboyne another to note up in trip.

For last year's winning trainer, THE MARTY PARTY has looked a handicap project and they'll be disappointed if he can't go close off 62

A line through Gimcrack contender Shadow Of Light can be made which gives ULTRASOUL a form edge over Realign (second choice).

LUCKINTHECITY is a useful bumper performer and gets the vote to make a winning start over hurdles. The selection scored on debut at the Listowel Festival last year and returned after a break when third behind The Passing Wife at Galway earlier this month. Garnacho showed some promise in two bumper starts and was prominent throughout when switched to hurdles at Roscommon filling the runner-up spot behind the impressive Zariygann. Glyde Ranger and International Lady both have plenty of experience on the Flat and now switch to hurdles, while Finnicky Filly and Boston Beach may prove best of the remainder.

LUCKINTHECITY has achieved a fairly useful level in bumpers and may not need to replicate that form to make a winning start over hurdles in a weak race. Garnacho and Ballinvasas Best have both shown a bit of promise and could be the pair to fill the places.

A maiden which may not take much winning and likely a good opportunity for hurdles newcomer LUCKINTHECITY
Class & Speed Card

Three Dons failed to complete the four-timer when he was beaten into third at Brighton last time, but he should remain competitive off the same mark. However, MARMALADE LADY may have more scope for improvement off her current rating. Hughie Morrison's three-year-old finished fourth over 1m5f at Lingfield last month and the return to turf in first-time cheekpieces could work the oracle. Highland Lil is another to watch out for.

Preference is for MARMALADE LADY, who shaped as if still in top form when fourth at Lingfield last month and first-time cheekpieces can eke out that little bit extra. Three Dons wasn't disgraced in the pursuit of a 4-timer at Brighton just over a fortnight ago, so he heads up the dangers, with Highland Lil rounding off the shortlist in a change of headgear.

Third behind two very progressive rivals over C&D last month, HIGHLAND LIL (nap) can open her account today.
Class & Speed Card

IL PELLEGRINO may be capable of a bit better on his second outing in handicap company. The No Nay Never colt reportedly got upset in the stalls before finishing fifth at Leopardstown last month. He had beaten one of today's rivals, Monasterboice, in a Limerick maiden previously and that rival has won twice since. Il Pellegrino gets weight from Noel Meade's runner now. Monasterboice won his maiden over course and distance and should be a big player again. Top-weight Democracy is tried in cheekpieces now and is another to add to the shortlist, as he has been knocking on the door recently.

Galway winner MONASTERBOICE has been a different proposition since front-running tactics have been employed and is taken to go in again. Aidan O'Brien's Democracy is feared most ahead of Jack Davison's Artful Approach, another who was in good form at the Galway Festival.

Having beaten dual subsequent winner Monasterboice in a Limerick maiden, IL PELLEGRINO may bounce back from a Leopardstown lapse
Class & Speed Card

CALAFRIO won a classified event with plenty in hand at Thirsk a fortnight ago and the Phillip Kirby-trained filly could play another leading role if she handles this return to handicap company. Silent Flame has some C&D experience and can also go well given that she is on a good mark in comparison to her peak form. Lahina Bay and Media Guest complete the shortlist.

Rod Millman's SILENT FLAME has had a good spell since blinkered and gets the nod. Papabella saw off a next-time-out winner when off the mark at Ffos Las at the end of July and is second choice ahead of northern raider Calafrio.

Silent Flame looks set to go well again but BATED BREEZE has hinted at better on a couple of occasions and he gets the nod.

Having not quite lasted home when collared late on over 1m2f at Goodwood earlier this month, MIDNIGHT GUN is likely to relish this drop in trip. Hamad Al Jehani's charge was denied a hat-trick by just half a length on that occasion and a 3lb rise in the ratings doesn't appear out of his reach. Golden Mind will have to defy top-weight to claim this prize but, having run well in the Vintage at Goodwood, he could be a Group horse in a handicap. Blue Prince warrants consideration despite being raised 4lb for his win over 7f at Goodwood last month.

A valuable 3-y-o contest littered with unexposed types and it's MIDNIGHT GUN who gets the nod to continue his upward trajectory having still looked some way ahead of hismark starting out for this trainer at Goodwood just over 3 weeks ago. Back down in trip, he can regain the winning thread at the expense of Volterra, who can have a line put through his latest effort. Native Warrior, Mount Teide and Ebt's Guard are just a handful of others to consider, too.

Being an improving colt whose latest form has been boosted, DOSMAN (nap) is particularly interesting. Midnight Gun is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Riding arrangements suggest TOUNSIVATOR is preferred of Willie Mullins' two runners and the dual-purpose gelding can gain compensation after a very narrow defeat in a valuable handicap hurdle at the Galway Festival. The French import won a 25-runner Naas maiden hurdle earlier this year and was just headed on the line by Volantis at Ballybrit. Stablemate Ninth Titan easily made all in a Tramore maiden but may find this a bit sharp having stayed on well last time when runner-up to Donnie Devito in a 2m4f Galway novice. Al Gasparo impressed when making all in a Killarney maiden, but the point-to-point winner was soundly beaten last time at Galway.

TOUNSIVATOR sets the standard judged on his excellent second in a Galway handicap 3 weeks ago, so he has to be considered the one to beat, especially with the timefigure supporting his performance. Ninth Titan, a stablemate of the selection, is going the right way as a hurdler and rates the main threat ahead of Al Gasparo, who appeals as the type to bounce back quickly.

Likely a good pace here which could set this up nicely for TOUNSIVATOR, whose Galway handicap second sets a decent standard
Class & Speed Card

BOSTON RUN displayed plenty of promise when hitting the crossbar on his debut over 7f at Haydock last month and Hugo Palmer's colt is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. Castle Stuart took a step forward when third at the same venue on his most recent outing and he could prove to be the main threat, although Raulin was an expensive purchase and is a newcomer to note.

It was a muddling contest that BOSTUN RUN finished second in starting out at Haydock a month ago but it was a promising effort nonetheless and with improvement assured, he'll take some stopping, Given his pedigree, Castle Stuart surely has a bigger performance in him, with Raulin a newcomer to note given his sales price.

This looks good for BOSTON RUN, who was denied a clear run before keeping on well for a very promising second on last month's debut.
Class & Speed Card

ONE LOOK ran much better last time when chasing home Wingspan at Gowran Park and can strike at this level now. The Gleneagles filly looked like a star in the making when taking the Goffs Million in stunning style on her debut last year. It hasn't quite worked out this term but she finished off strongly in Listed company last time and can get back in the winner's enclosure now. French import Oujda is an interesting contender for Johnny Murtagh. The Sioux Nation filly won four times in her native land and was placed at this level. Joseph O'Brien saddles three and it's interesting that Dylan Browne McMonagle sides with Without Words.

ONE LOOK holds the edge on form so is fancied to go one better than when a good second at Gowran in similar company last time out. Oujda also has the form to play a big part now starting out with Johnny Murtagh, while Curvature and Mexicali Rose also need factoring into this open listed event.

Last year's impressive Goffs Million winner ONE LOOK got her career back on track with last week's Gowran second and may go one better
Class & Speed Card

Things didn't pan out as hoped for MOLLIE FOSTER when she contested a Listed race at Deauville three weeks ago but she can get back on track with her sights lowered here. The daughter of Acclamation, who bettered her commendable second over this C&D on debut by landing a novice at Haydock last month, has plenty of scope for progression and tops the shortlist. Fellow previous winners Queen All Star and Sweet Sonata look the pick of the opposition.

There was plenty to like about the way QUEEN ALL STAR went about things at Windsor and she's preferred to fellow previous winner Mollie Foster. Empowered Queen ran green when seemingly fancied for her recent Lingfield debut and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her prove a different proposition now.

Mollie Foster and Sweet Sonata are respected but QUEEN ALL STAR looks open to the greater improvement.

CAMPARI SODA is tried with a visor now and there looks to be a race in her off this kind of mark. She got a little bump when staying on at Cork last time and makes just her second handicap start now having been eased a couple of pounds for that performance. Rock Etoile is only a couple of pounds higher than when winning at Dundalk eight days ago and is a previous course and distance winner. He could run well for Sam Coen on his first racecourse outing. Skontonovski ran a solid race when third at Leopardstown last time and could reach the frame again.

CHURCH MOUNTAIN shaped quite well in a Naas race last time that looks solid form so he might prove the answer to the first division of this 1m handicap. Skontonovski has remained in form since his Fairyhouse win in July and is second choice ahead of former C&D scorer Chimeric.

Runner-up in a heat of this race last year and also a C&D winner, ROCK ETOILE can get young Sam Coen off to the best possible start

PASHA emerged as the ready winer of a fillies maiden at Nottingham last week and, turned out under a 6lb penalty, the daughter of Advertise is an obvious candidate to follow up. Imitate represents powerful connections and is an appealing alternative to the selection on her handicap debut. Dramatic Effect, a C&D winner in June, is another notable contender given this represents a drop in class for her, while Crystal Casque is also considered.

A competitive fillies' event, with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained handicap newcomer IMITATE given the nod having progressed with each qualifying run. Crystal Casque is thrice the age of her opposition but proved herself back on a fair mark when second at Sandown last time and she's also shortlisted, with another handicap newcomer Pasha also respected.

Imitate and Faro Di Notte can improve but MALLAVELLY can bounce back from her low-key effort last month.

Not much to choose between Magellan Strait and NATIVE SPEAKER here last time, but the latter might turn tables with an 8lb pull

The Reverend was not disgraced when second on his belated seasonal return at Thirsk last month and cannot be discounted. That said, he may struggle to give 6lb to SUGAR ROAD, who improved on his debut effort at Southwell last time and Andrew Balding's colt may have more improvement left to come. Military Academy is a half-brother to a Group 1 winner and any market support for him would have to be noted.

SUGAR ROAD improved on debut form when third at Southwell and can be expected to do better again as he continues to gain experience. He shades the vote over penalised-winner The Reverend. Military Academy is a newcomer to note being a half-brother to connections' Fillies' Mile winner Commissioning.

Preference is for SUGAR ROAD, who was a good third at Southwell on his second start and is taken to get off the mark.
Class & Speed Card

SPECKLED MEADOW has been knocking on the door and may be able to bag another win here. The Footstepsinthesand mare chased home Clear Quartz in a competitive contest at Galway on her last outing and off just a pound higher mark she is capable of winning a race of this standard. Ger O'Leary has his string in fine form and Bear Profit has to be respected under top-weight. The Profitable gelding won at Leopardstown in June and has run a couple of solid races since. Purring Along was well backed when third behind easy winner Selective Power at Naas last time and she's another to consider.

Given her pedigree and connections, BLUE POPPY surely has a bigger effort in her and now she goes handicapping with headgear on, a leap forward may well be forthcoming. Speckled Meadow is the solid option, with Asisaid also of some interest.

Runner-up at the Galway festival, SPECKLED MEADOW can add to the win achieved early in the season at Leopardstown.

KATE THE COOK appeared to relish the step up to this trip when scoring gamely at Ffos Las last month, pulling clear with the runner-up. Now making her handicap debut off what looks a workable mark, she gets the vote to land the spoils for the in-form Ralph Beckett team. Crystal Flyer found only one rival too good when second over 1m4f at Ascot when last seen and she should be on the premises once more nudged up just 1lb. D Day Arvalenreeva is also a key player.

D DAY ARVALENREEVA has come close on both her starts this term and remains fairly treated. She makes plenty of appeal. Kate The Cook and Crystal Flyer look the likeliest dangers.

Preference is for KATE THE COOK (nap) who is on the upgrade and she can continue to progress now handicapping.

Le Grand Vert, KADYS DIRHA and Ballydangan filled the first three places over this trip at Roscommon earlier this month and it may pay to concentrate on that piece of form. The winner was having his first start for current connections and could progress further, but Kadys Dirha gets the nod having come from well off the pace. Joe's Turn won both point-to-point starts for Richie Rath and has joined Mark McNiff following a promising third over 2m4f here on his chase debut under Rules. Singing Banjo has enjoyed his finest hours over the banks at Punchestown and the veteran comes here after landing the La Touche for the second time this year.

Dual-point winner JOE'S TURN made a decent start to his chase career when third here last month and gets the vote on his first start for an in-form yard. Le Grand Vert was a cosy winner starting out for this yard at Roscommon and is the obvious threat, though Kadys Dirha and Ballydangan are weighted to finish a bit closer.

One that could be ahead of the game is LE GRAND VERT (nap), who can confirm Roscommon form with Kadys Dirha and Ballydangan

LA YAKEL will be sharper for a comeback run at Ascot and the ground has turned in his favour. A winner on soft ground at Doncaster last autumn, William Haggas' five-year-old has strong claims if back to his best. Mr Alan will also appreciate the underfoot conditions and looks a threat off his current rating, while dual novice winner Theory Of Tides struggled in Group 2 company at Ascot in June, but could feature at this level making his handicap debut. Last year's winner Postileo is 5lb higher but may go well again.

Low-mileage 5-y-o LA YAKEL made an eye-catching return at Ascot 6 weeks ago and this progressive type remains of strong interest off his current mark. Theory of Tides is the only 3--y-o in the field and could well resume progress on handicap bow having found a Group 2 at Royal Ascot too tough, while Mr Alan is in better form than this season's figures suggest and will appreciate the softer ground.

This could go to MR ALAN, who ran pretty well on good going at Ripon last time and can build on that now back on slow ground.

MAN O WORK is interesting here on his first start in handicap company on the Flat. The Workforce gelding didn't run too badly when staying on in a competitive contest over timber at Galway on his last outing and had run well in a Tipperary maiden on the level back in May. He doesn't look badly treated off a mark of 79 now. Lot of Joy weakened tamely enough when favourite for the big amateur handicap at Galway but had run really well at the Curragh previously and has to be respected. The admirable Taipan won well on his return at Ballybrit but may be vulnerable to a better handicapped rival.

TAIPAN resumed in style from a long absence when going in at Galway and looks the way to go returned to handicap company here. La Dame Blanche could emerge as the main danger in her bid for a third win win of 2024 ahead of handicap debutant Man O Work.

Having been gelded since disappointing on h'cap debut at Galway, a chance is taken with CRUDEN who has always been held in high regard

Richard Hughes has his string in fine form at present and his MISS ANYA edges preference. She was sporting blinkers for the first time (retained) when finishing runner-up over this trip at Newmarket recently and, nudged up 1lb, another bold showing should be forthcoming. Cluedo catches the eye off just 3lb higher than her last winning mark and, on her first start since wind surgery, she is respected most of the remainder. Four Adaay completes the shortlist on the back of a solid runner-up effort at Yarmouth earlier this month.

Preference is for MISS ANYA, who got back on track at Newmarket earlier this month and remains feasibly treated. Four Adaay and The Defiant should also go well in an open-looking contest.

A wind op since she was last in action could see CLUEDO bounce back to form. Kiss And Run is feared most.

THE SHORT GO made a successful switch to fences over three miles at Clonmel last autumn and after reappearing over hurdles, again advertised his chance on just his second chase start when third to Railway Hurricane over probably an inadequate 2m3f at Wexford last month. Menindee's five wins include a handicap chase over a similar trip here last summer and the David Christie-trained mare reverts to fences after a couple of recent hurdle outings. Macgiloney's 11 career victories include a bumper and 3m1f hurdle at this venue and he was also second to the odds-on Run For Oscar here last time.

THE SHORT GO is enjoying a productive season and arrives on the back of a solid effort at Wexford, so he's fancied to get back to winning ways up in trip. Invictus Machin is a danger if strong in the betting and Paidi's Passion should give another good account.

The selection though is THE SHORT GO, still very unexposed over fences but won over 3m at Clonmel and will appreciate this trip

CHUTZPAL was an easy winner over course and distance last month and can follow up despite a 12lb hike for that victory. The Markaz gelding was making his second outing for Henry de Bromhead then and there may be more to come. Robin Donaghue-Leahy claims 7lb off him now to offset some of that rise. Stariam has been knocking on the door in maiden company and looks on a fair mark now in handicaps. She should run a big race again. Jabbar has been in good form and looks another for the shortlist, hailing from the in-form Ger O'Leary yard.

This is wide open but ELSA'S PRIDE rates just the pick of these weights so is fancied to bag a first win of the season at the chief expense of Empress Alma, who wasn't seen to best effect when fifth at Galway last time. In-form trio Polemon, Stariam and Say It So also need factoring into this competitive handicap.

Having come home well over 1m5f last time in a race that is working out well, JABBAR should get the trip and might have another in him

Beautiful Crown must enter calculations upped 4lb for a recent victory over 1m2f at Chelmsford, but his tendency to break slowly tempers enthusiasm somewhat. SHALFA impressed when making all over 1m2f at Brighton on her penultimate start and, after shaping well again when runner-up at Windsor last month, she gets the vote to land the spoils. This step back in trip can help Bletchley Storm be seen to better effect and she completes the shortlist.

BEAUTIFUL CROWN has been in a rich vein of form since joining the Jack Jones yard and can defy to top weight to notch his fourth win for his new trainer. Pride of Nepal shouldn't be inconvenienced by the drop in trip and also merits respect, with Sea of Charm completing the shortlist.

The vote goes to PRIDE OF NEPAL, who holds solid claims on recent form and is a C&D winner. Beautiful Crown is feared most.

Not much strength in depth here and the well-bred newcomer ON CLOUD WINE could take some beating

Sound Reason went close at Beverley last week, but today's soft going is a worry for him and WARRENDALE WAGYU is preferred. The unexposed three-year-old has already won at Doncaster this summer and failed to catch the winner by only a head at Ayr on his latest start. Lady Bouquet landed a double over the minimum trip, including a C&D success, before being beaten over 6f and she can get involved, while Object has won on a soft surface and is worth a second glance.

SOUND REASON is on a feasible mark and, having returned to form when second at Beverley last time, he's worth a chance to go one better at the possible expense of Warrendale Wagyu, who also arrives on the back of a solid showing. Object is probably the pick of the remainder, all of whom have to get back on track.

The unexposed WARRENDALE WAGYU (nap) still has some growing up to do but leaves the impression he has much more ability than this mark.

COMO PARK comes here in winning form and that looks a big plus. The Camelot gelding battled to get up close home at Bellewstown early last month after some solid runs over hurdles. It remains to be seen if he's up to his old Flat mark of 90 but this looks like a nice opportunity. Seddon ran well in this last year, when fourth to Almuhit, but was pulled up when last seen over fences in Kilbeggan. Brogue hasn't been seen since last October but had some solid handicap form last year and has to be respected despite having to give weight to his rivals.

COMO PARK was useful on the Flat prior to going jumping and, fit from a Bellewstown hurdle win last month, is taken to make a successful return to the level. Dermot Weld's Brogue is the likely danger.

Fit from hurdling, a discipline at which he's improving, COMO PARK is well in at the weights in relation to sole danger Brogue
Ths is the racecard key.
