CELTIC MOTIF ran a nice race to finish third on debut at the Curragh earlier this month and might be able to go two places better. A 225,000-euro Goffs Orby Sale purchase, the Saxon Warrior bay is likely to come on plenty for that initial effort. The same can be said for many others, with the Ballydoyle duo of Medici Venus (first-time blinkers) and Garden Of Eden cases in point. Fitzroy Gardens made all to win a barrier trial at Dundalk last month and the Donnacha O'Brien-trained bay is of definite interest. Pleasant Dawn has two solid efforts to her name and should be suited by this step up in trip, while others of note are eyecatching Leopardstown fourth Twolatebabydoll, Johnny Murtagh's Shelbiana and debutants Study The Lady and Midnight Horizon.

CELTIC MOTIF shaped with encouragement when third on debut at the Curragh (7f) 15 days ago and, open to improvement, she gets the nod to build on that effort and make it second time lucky. Now was another who produced a promising first effort and is feared, along with Twolatebabydoll. Shelbiana and Deressa are other likely improvers.

Celtic Motif holds leading form claims but barrier trial winner FITZROY GARDENS may just have her measure

Having finished second in a Southwell contest that has worked out well, EAVESTONE showed enough pace over further on that occasion to suggest that she may be ideally suited by 1m2f. Roger Varian's filly gets the vote ahead of Madame Sans Gene, who ran a highly encouraging race on debut when third at Lingfield in April, and Wolverhampton third Charlotte's Web. A well-related sort who cost 425,000gns at the sales, Estrange is a newcomer to monitor for market support.

CHARLOTTE'S WEB endured a poor run when an unlucky third at Wolverhampton last week and is fancied to gain compensation at the chief expense of Roger Varian's Eavestone who also looks to have better days ahead of her but might have to settle for runner-up spot once more. Andrew Balding's Lasting Love has the form to play a part too if back on song, while newcomer Christian Bruce and Lingfield debut third Madame Sans Gene also enter calculations in this intriguing maiden.

425,000gns yearling ESTRANGE is bred to be very talented and is taken to make a winning start for David O'Meara.
Class & Speed Card

GRANDE MARQUES and Oxford Rock are the standout names here, with preference for the Fozzy Stack-trained former. Seventh of 21 in the valuable Ballyhane Stakes over C&D earlier this month, the Starspangledbanner chestnut should appreciate this drop in class. Oxford Rock has also been performing at a much higher level of late, finishing seventh in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot on her penultimate start. She occupied the same position in Listed company at Tipperary last month and it will come as no surprise if she manages to make the breakthrough. Debutants Dramatic and Revoke both warrant respect, while Say Yes To Dreams, Cold Hearted and Jaliyah are others capable of making an impact.

Aidan O'Brien's well-related newcomer DRAMATIC fetched no less than 1,500,000 dollars so is fancied to make a winning start at the chief expense of fairly useful duo Oxford Rock and Grande Marques who both have their sights lowered and can chase home the selection in that order. Ger Lyons' debutante Revoke is another to consider along with Say Yes To Dreams.

The Harrington runner COLD HEARTED showed plenty of promise over C&D in April and had an excuse when a disappointing favourite latest
Class & Speed Card

KHABIB was only beaten a length when second in a similar event at Thirsk recently and the consistent six-year-old merits plenty of respect off the same mark here. Scoops Ahoy also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Majeski Man and Rock Of England should not be discounted.

This is wide open but EMERALDS PRIDE caught the eye when sixth over C&D last time from a poor draw and can resume winning ways off a 1 lb lower mark given a low berth this time. In-form top-weight Rock Of England could emerge as the main danger to Michael Dods' C&D scorer, although the likes of Cavalier Approach, Midnight Lir, Dandy Dinmont and Khabib all warrant plenty of respect.

Michael Dods's C&D winner EMERALDS PRIDE caught the eye from a wide draw when sixth here last time and edges the vote.
Class & Speed Card

FOUGERE won, albeit narrowly, at Nottingham last time out when sent off joint-favourite in a first-time hood and although upped 3lb for that, she may be up to going in again in this field. City Escape hasn't got her head in front since last September, but was beaten less than a length at Leicester recently and she could prove a huge danger. Course winner Duchess, who scored over a mile here in May, races off just 4lb higher now.

Dean Ivory's filly FOUGERE took her form up a notch in a first-time hood when scoring at Nottingham last month and can make light of a 3 lb weights rise with that form having been franked. Miss Harmony hinted at a revival when fifth at Hamilton last time out so rates the chief threat ahead of C&D winner Mc'Ted.

A chance is taken on CITY ESCAPE, who is threatening off her reduced mark and Saturday's forecast rain won't hinder her prospects.
Class & Speed Card

The value may lie with GODWINSON, who may not have progressed as hoped since a strong runner-up effort in the Spring Cup at Newbury in April, but his most recent effort at York over further was creditable and the layout of this contest looks appealing. A comfortable winner of the Golden Mile over C&D earlier in the month, Toimy Son is likely to be thereabouts again off 7lb higher, while Signcastle City is another to note after a determined success at Ripon last time out.

A useful handicap in which LONG TRADITION is worth chancing back from another long absence. He won well back from a long lay-off in June 2023 and remains lightly raced for his trainer enjoying another good campaign. Golden Mile winner Toimy Son is next on the shortlist up 7 lb for that victory, while Godwinson is another to consider.

Lightly raced MIDNIGHT GUN was on the upgrade for Ed Walker and looks a good candidate for further progress after a good yard debut.
Class & Speed Card

Stepping up an additional furlong can see Navan runner-up RION RUBETTE open her account at the second attempt. Despite being sent off 100/1 for that initial outing, the Michael Butler-trained filly travelled particularly well through that race before producing a smart turn of foot to lead inside the final furlong. Although reeled in close home, the daughter of New Bay kept on nicely. On her breeding, she should be better over this longer distance. Rebel Diamond sets a fair standard off a mark of 85. Although a beaten favourite at Sligo recently, the colt is better judged on his previous effort when second in a stronger race at Leopardstown. C&D third No Return will find this easier having contested a Group 3 race at the Curragh last month.

NO RETURN remains with plenty of potential down in class and can open his account. Rebel Diamond surely has races in him, while Rion Rubette exceeded expectations when second at Navan first time up and seems sure to improve.

Several with chances, slight preference for the lightly-weighted RION RUBETTE, narrowly denied in a similar Navan contest recently
Class & Speed Card

STAY IN THE GAME has improved with each start to date and only found one too good on his most recent outing in a novice event over C&D in April. An opening mark of 80 should be workable and the three-year-old just gets the vote. Glistening Nights scored over this track and trip 11 days ago and has to be of interest off just 3lb higher, while Touch The Moon completes the shortlist.

STAY IN THE GAME boasts a progressive profile and was comfortably on top of the remainder when second in a novice over C&D last time so, following a break, he's worth a chance to improve past an opening mark of 80. Princess Nyla is in good order and should pose a threat along with Ey Up Its The Boss.

We haven't seen STAY IN THE GAME since his creditable second in a C&D novice in April but he still appeals most.
Class & Speed Card

Ellaria Sand has a 6lb winner's penalty and was beaten over five lengths on her one try at this trip earlier in the month. She can go well, but preference is for BELLATOR BULLET, who was second on his only start at Redcar when slowly away and running green. He can learn from that and if he does improve, he looks the one to beat. The dropped-in-class Pellitory is a serious rival after his fourth here in a much better race.

ELLARIA SAND was no match for a very promising winner here last time and can resume winning ways. Portnoy shaped well on debut at Kempton and should improve, while Watkins is an appealing newcomer.

This looks open for a novice. Newbury winner ELLARIA SAND may have bumped into a Pattern-class horse here last time.
Class & Speed Card

SERGEANT WILKO has continued to go from strength to strength this season and a 4lb rise for a taking success in a valuable handicap at Newmarket last month could prove lenient. The son of Bungle Inthejungle can take this before a possible tilt at the Ayr Gold Cup next month, with the progressive and consistent Amazonian Dream looking best placed to chase him home. The Jack Channon stable has been in excellent form of late and Tiriac must enter calculations on some of the form he has shown this season.

RUMSTAR shaped well in the Stewards' Cup last time and this is obviously less competitive, so he's worth a chance to snap a losing run. Improving 3-y-o Sergeant Wilko is an obvious danger along with the likeable Amazonian Dream.

This week's rain has been a positive for TIRIAC, who was progressive on good to soft ground earlier in the campaign. He earns the vote.
Class & Speed Card

A winner over C&D last month, the David O'Meara-trained NIGHTEYES can make another successful Irish raid. The three-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder has ben progressing steadily in the sprinting ranks since finishing sixth at York on her reappearance. As a very lightly-raced filly from a highly-respected yard, the Paddy Twomey-trained Firebird has to be given serious consideration. Second on her racecourse debut for previous connections, the Lope De Vega filly has barely had to come out of a canter to win her two starts since arriving in this country. Over The Blues has a bit to find with the selection on their run at this track but Patrick Foley's filly was having just her third ever start. She could be capable of better given the benefit of that experience.

NIGHTEYES has improved with each start this season, resuming winning ways in taking style in a C&D listed contest 32 days ago. David O'Meara's filly is very much of interest again at this level and can prove tough to contain again. Fellow 3-y-o Firebird looks worthy of her place at this level and is feared, along with Pink Crystal and Over The Blues.

Decisive C&D Listed winner Nighteyes is the obvious one but DANCE NIGHT ANDDAY didn't get the best of runs then and is preferred
Class & Speed Card

Neoma has to be respected following her encouraging debut effort at Kempton a couple of weeks ago, but marginal preference is for MANDANA. The daughter of Persian King showed plenty of ability when third on her racecourse bow in July and confirmed that promise when second at Haydock last time. Surprised is closely related to plenty of winners and merits a market inspection.

MANDANA has made a promising start in a couple of 7f fillies' maidens in higher grades and can get off the mark here with improvement in the offing. Kempton second Neoma is feared most.

Time Test filly BLUEANDTANGERINE is well worth another chance having not enjoyed the rub of the green when sixth at Redcar last time.
Class & Speed Card

Anglo Saxson likes it here, with four out of his five career victories coming at the track, although he wasn't at his best when 11th at Doncaster last month and needs to bounce back. Embarked was beaten just half a length off this mark at Southwell and is worth another try at the mile, but a chance is taken on STRAIGHT A. A 6f winner here in June 2023, this will be his second outing for Mick Appleby and he can go well off 2lb lower and upped to this trip.

BELLA BISBEE has got back on track with blinkers enlisted, showing the best turn of foot when resuming winning ways at Doncaster (1m) 8 days ago. She looks a live player again up 5 lb, with King of Fury and last year's winner Renesmee others to consider. Straight A and Falcon Nine shouldn't be given up on either.

The suggestion is KING OF FURY who will go on the ground should conditions soften up and he's in better form than a lot of these.
Class & Speed Card

WITNESS STAND made a mockery of his big odds when scooting in by three lengths in a warm handicap over track and trip earlier in the month and he was hit with an 8lb rise for that triumph. The son of Expert Eye retains the cheekpieces applied on that occasion and could take this before going onto better things. The main danger might be the hat-trick seeking Rebel Territory, who was last seen comfortably scoring in the 2023 Victoria Cup at Ascot and the six-year-old commands the utmost respect on his return to action. Qirat is the pick of the remainder.

QIRAT hasn't quite kicked on as expected following his C&D success in the spring but he remains low-mileage and, returned to this track/trip from a handy draw, he's given the narrow vote to get back on track. Metal Merchant is another high on the shortlist following his good fourth in the International at Ascot. Witness Stand and Rhoscolyn are others to consider.

Judged on the strength of his C&D win in May, QIRAT (nap) is particularly interesting. Witness Stand is feared most.
Class & Speed Card

Dropping into the bottom grade for the first time in over two years could well see MYMOMENTINTIME register just the second win of his career. The Susan Finn-trained five-year-old has run with credit in much stronger races of late, so should certainly appreciate this much easier assignment. With a middle draw, jockey Billy Lee has the option of switching to either side, depending on where the pace proves to be. Recent Cork winner Ginormous has been raised 8lb but should still prove competitive for Micky Fenton. The former Classic-winning rider has his small string in excellent form at the present time. Lady Daar might prove better suited to an additional furlong and if they go hard in front, the Gavin Cromwell-trained three-year-old will be finishing strongly.

LIVINGSTON RANGE lurks on a tempting mark and gets the vote in a difficult handicap to unravel. Mymomentintime, Cork winner Ginormous and Art of Unity are other players.

Old boy ART OF UNITY hit form around this time last year and will be better for last month's fifth at Bellewstown; any ease would help
Class & Speed Card

In a relatively small field, the draw may not be as important as it can be here and the vote goes to AMERJEET. Archie Watson's gelding looked to have a bit in hand when winning at Lingfield last month and although he's upped in class off a 5lb higher mark, there may be improvement to come. Educating Rita is an obvious danger dropping back to this trip and she won't be too far away, leaving the dropped-in-class Mission Command to chase them home.

WINCHURCH resumed progress and in truth was value for a little extra when doubling his tally at Musselburgh 23 days ago. A 5 lb rise for that success looks fair and he looks to hold sound claims again. Mission Command will find this easier than his latest Goodwood assignment and is feared along with Educating Rita.

The pick is MISSION COMMAND (nap), who impressed when winning a Ripon maiden and will find this easier than his first nursery.
Class & Speed Card

CALUMET improved markedly for the step up to 1m2f when scoring impressively at Windsor, and a mark of 91 could underestimate his true potential on handicap debut. Marco Botti's unexposed three-year-old may have too much for Southwell winner Victorious Street, as well as Mutaawid, who performed with credit over 1m4f at Ascot but may be better suited by dropping back in distance. Placed in valuable handicaps the last twice at Goodwood and York, Tony Montana is a big player too.

The 3-y-os look the trio to concentrate on, with VICTORIOUS STREET preferred to Calumet and Mutaawid,

Cambridgeshire entrant MUTAAWID (nap) could be ideally served by a strongly run race on this drop back in trip.
Class & Speed Card

SEA LEGEND ran too bad to be true when finishing last at Haydock on his latest start, but he finished a fair fourth at Newcastle prior to that in a class 3 handicap. James Fanshawe's four-year-old sets the standard for others to aim at with a rating of 85 and looks difficult to oppose. Clever Relation finished a close-up third over 1m6f at Nottingham in May and should go well, while Roger Henry is in good form and can fight it out for the minor honours.

SEA LEGEND possesses much the best form on show and now back at a more suitable trip is impossible to side against lowered in grade. Roger Henry arrives in good form so should ensure James Fanshawe's 4-y-o doesn't have things all his own way, while Clever Relation can't be ruled out either on the back of his excellent Nottingham third.

1m6f stretched SEA LEGEND at Haydock last month and he has leading claims on his previous form. Clever Relation is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

First-time cheekpieces and a slight drop in trip could see DABOYA make a winning start in handicaps. Having shaped with promise when fifth on her racecourse debut at Gowran Park in April, the Dermot Weld-trained filly backed that up when runner-up at that same venue next time. A beaten favourite when stepped up in trip at Limerick on her third outing, the daughter of Gleneagles will be more at home back at this intermediate distance. Hasten Slowly, a winner over hurdles at Tramore earlier this month, has to be of interest reverting to the Flat and John McConnell's four-year-old arrives here in the form of her life. Vivacious Lady, who shaped with definite promise on her handicap debut at Leopardstown, is another that holds leading claims for her in-form team.

HASTEN SLOWLY was going the right way on the Flat prior to opening her account over hurdles and, back in this sphere, she looks the one to beat. Quiz Test arrives on the back of a solid showing and should be on the premises again, while Red Trail can get involved if the pace is strong.

It could be worth taking a chance on the unexposed VIVACIOUS LADY, who caught the eye staying on under considerate handling last time
Class & Speed Card

LINCOLN ROCKSTAR seems an obvious pick having won twice over this C&D this year, as well as two wins and two seconds elsewhere since. He was all out to win by a nose last time and may need another career-best effort here, but arrives at the top of his game and is hard to ignore. Monsieur Melee has been running well without success recently and may have to settle for another silver medal, leaving Open Secret and Elemental Eye to battle it out for third.

Having opened his account at Doncaster in May, MONSIEUR MELEE has remained in form in defeat since, finishing a good second in a race not run to suit at Ripon 2 weeks ago. He looks a big player from the same mark. Elemental Eye has been shaping up well and is feared, whilst Open Secret would be a danger to all if getting his own way on the front end. Lincoln Rockstar can't be discounted either.

Consistent ELEMENTAL EYE gives the impression this longer trip will suit and he can gain a deserved breakthrough victory.
Class & Speed Card

A respectable fourth over the minimum trip at Leicester, SHIBUYA STORM should be much more at home back at 6f, having scored over this trip at Lingfield on her penultimate outing. The booking of Robert Havlin is a positive one and she can strike on handicap debut, with Huddle Up looking best placed to chase her home following a sound runner-up effort at Pontefract on his first start for new connections. Now that Sovereign Knight has regained the winning thread after a taking performance at Chelmsford, he can also have a say in proceedings.

HUDDLE UP made a positive start for his new stable when runner-up despite a wide draw at Pontefract last time and, with more in his favour, he's fancied to go one better at the possible expense of Sovereign Knight, who was going away at the finish when scoring at Chelmsford 10 days ago. Phoenix Beach, another last-time-out winner, is also respected.

This could go to HUDDLE UP who was consistent for the Barrons and he endured a wide trip at Pontefract when second on his stable debut.
Class & Speed Card

El Madar has shown a decent level of ability in three starts to date but could be vulnerable to an improver. With that in mind, preference is for TOO SOON, who caught the eye when staying on well to take fifth in a valuable maiden over 7f here three weeks ago. Skibo has a similar profile to the selection and should not be discounted, while Special Ghaiyyath is also noted.

TOO SOON caught the eye staying on late here on debut here earlier this month and will appreciate this longer trip. He can open his account. Skibo and Hunky Dory are also open to improvement and are feared most.

Several have possibilities in quite an open and interesting maiden. The percentage call goes to TOO SOON, ahead of Skibo.
Class & Speed Card

Ger O'Leary has his string in fine form and YOU OWE ME MONEY may be able to strike now dropping into this grade. The Awtaad filly has been running consistently and it was a solid effort to finish fourth at Gowran when she was last seen in early June. Any rain will help and this looks a good trip for her. Miss Paloma has won two from three since joining Henry de Bromhead and has to be respected. Robyn Donaghue-Leahy claims 7lb in this race, which is a help. Mooretown Lad is only 3lb higher than when winning at Leopardstown and is another who has to come into the mix.

MOORETOWN LAD picked up well to open his account at Leopardstown on just his second handicap outing and there should be more in the locker, so he's preferred to fellow last-time-out winner Miss Paloma. Newfire also makes the shortlist.

The unexposed ABBEY ACTRESS did well to come from a long way back at Galway to take third and should relish this longer trip
Class & Speed Card

Shimmering Sands is already a winner at Beverley, but that was over 1m2f and he may have to settle for a place dropping back in trip. SHALADAR has won off a higher mark in the past and showed signs of a return to form when beaten less then two lengths into fourth at Carlisle last time, so his chance is clear racing off 2lb lower here. Etretat and Assessment are others to consider in a trappy contest.

Preference is for SHIMMERING SANDS, who is fairly treated and got back on track at Redcar last time. Assessment and Kokinelli head the list of dangers in what looks an open contest.

Low-mileage 3yo CAVALRY CALL looked unlucky not to finish closer to the target at Kempton recently and may exploit a 3lb drop here.
Class & Speed Card

Now that the penny has dropped for GULTARI after a determined breakthrough success here over shorter, William Haggas' filly is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming going back over 7f. Runner-up on each of his last two starts at Brighton, Interestnpenalties can give her the most to think about, although Dion Baker was a comfortable winner at Leicester on his penultimate outing and is dangerous if performing to that level.

GULTARI showed a good attitude when scoring here earlier this month and hasn't been harshly treated for that success. She can follow up. Interestnpenalties and Dion Baker rate the principal dangers.

Provided she's as effective with the hood discarded, steadily progressive GULTARI could well follow up her course win.
Class & Speed Card

TEMPORIZE struggled to make an impact in the Goodwood Handicap over 2m4f earlier in the month, but his previous success at Newbury suggests that he is likely to be competitive at this level. East India Dock was not disgraced in a competitive three-year-old handicap at Haydock when last seen and he should not be underestimated. Percy Shelley edges out Duke Of Verona to be the pick of the remainder.

PERCY SHELLEY is down to an appealing mark and has looked back in form lately, so he gets the marginal vote in a tightly-knit affair. Duke of Verona is of interest back from a break and Tenerife Sunshine warrants plenty of respect.

Topweight TEMPORIZE won the 2m4f handicap at the Glorious meeting here last year and ran well for a long way in the same race last time.
Class & Speed Card

A drop back in trip may help SEE ME THROUGH. He weakened in the closing stages over a mile and a half at Ballinrobe last month having been in fine form over shorter trips previously. He was eased 3lb in the recent readjustments by the handicapper. Johnny Murtagh saddles the top- and bottom-weights in this and both have chances. Shayzann is tried in a hood now after two big runs recently, but does have to give a chunk of weight away to his rivals. Thor's Hammer steps up a bit in trip now. He missed the kick and had to work to get to the front at Galway last time. This small field may suit.

THOR'S HAMMER has been crying out for this sort of trip and can land the spoils in the finale. Stable companion Shayzann and See Me Through should also go well.

The booking of Declan McDonogh for THOR'S HAMMER (nap) is intriguing and his premier handicap third at the Curragh is strong form
