LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

BRIDGET'S BABY went in by just under two lengths over this trip at Lingfield in June and was only raised 5lb as a result. This is just her second appearance in handicap company and with further progress likely, she could prove hard to beat. Rajeteriat wasn't disgraced when third in a classified stakes contest over C&D recently and the application of a first-time visor might eke out some improvement. Dusk Damsel is another to note.

This isn't deep, so if Shaniko is able to reproduce the level of form that saw her finish fourth at Thirsk most recently, she ought to go close. However, the winnable nature of this contest will be of real encouragement to the Karl Burke team, who are represented by newcomer MUGHEER. The gelded son of Soldier's Call is a half-brother to stable companion Shayem, who landed Group 3 honours at Goodwood recently. Romidijo is also noted.

My Maria has found one too good on each of her last three starts and she might have to settle for the silver medal again, because LOVELY DARK ANGEL is preferred. George Boughey's filly exhibited clear signs of greenness when fourth on her introduction at Windsor earlier this month but she looks sure to come on from that experience. Provided the daughter of Dark Angel can overcome a wide draw, she ought to go close. He's Readytorumble isn't out of this either.

ROYALE UNION was conceding 5lb to the winner when beaten a short-head at Ripon and that performance very much sets the standard. Stepping back up to seven furlongs will suit on that evidence and she is fancied to open her account at the main expense of Lady Gormire. Moonlight Melody and Soca Star could feature too, but the others will need to improve.

DIAMONDINTHEDARK bounced back from a below-par Lingfield effort to take home the silver medal at Ffos Las earlier in the month and is just 1lb higher. Currahee finished a creditable fourth at Newmarket recently and has dropped to an attractive mark, whilst the returning Alshimali is another to keep a close eye on.

Stepping up to 1m6f proved ideal for BOILERMAKER when he won gamely at Sandown and he could be tough to overhaul if replicating the effort back on Tapeta. Still unexposed on the surface, the son of Teofilo has enough scope to brush aside a 3lb rise. The Craftymaster has been resurgent of late and a third consecutive success cannot be ruled out, despite his all-weather mark being 9lb higher than his turf rating. Letmebetheboss and Fair Dinkum are the pick of the rest.

NIFFLER, who is by a German Derby winner, built on his three qualifying runs to readily get off the mark when stepped up to an extended 1m4f on his handicap debut at Newcastle last week. A 6lb penalty shouldn't be a problem for Sir Mark Prescott's progressive gelding, who also has little to fear from another two furlongs in this company. Zephlyn and Animato are previous course winners who are next best, while Fairydale can also figure if revved up by a first-time visor.

Lightly-weighted stablemate Oh So Charming won a similar claimer at Sligo recently, beating Rich Belief into third place, and is next best. Jackson Lamb is an able type but has top weight.

Dropping into classified company has prompted a mini revival from FIGHTING POET, who can build on two placed efforts at this level if the first-time visor draws the requisite effort for him to stay focused in the closing stages. Smoker Bellamy is feared the most, stepping out of handicap company after a better effort at Southwell, while Lawmans Blis is a three-time C&D winner who cannot be ruled out debuting for a new yard in a weak event.

This is open and only a tentative vote can be afforded to REGAL TIGER as a result. Hugo Palmer's colt finished second to a subsequent winner on his nursery debut at Windsor and while a 3lb rise looks fair, it is the step up to 7f that could be the making of him. Mobadir was well on top despite the winning margin at Nottingham and is another that should benefit from a rise in distance. Golden Oasis, Sovereigns High and Mino are just a few others of interest.

WHATS NEW is a 14-race maiden over hurdles, but tries this trip for the first time and that could spark some improvement. The form of his runner-up efforts here and at Sligo in July read well and he finished a fine second at the Galway festival last time. Chantilly Wings could prove to be the main threat on these terms, while Thesilverbridle stays well and is next best.

DESIDERATA was in good form when last seen and having won when fresh before, this could be within his compass, despite him resuming on a career-high mark. Manton Road could be the one to capitalise if the selection is rusty after 130 days on the sidelines. The Richard Phillips-trained gelding readily held the consistent On Key when they clashed over 7f on his penultimate start and he can uphold the form as the more proven over this distance. Previous course winner Book Of Life also merits consideration.

The Crisford's have their string in great nick and their representative FLICK OF AN EYE could continue that trend. The son of Blackbeard, whose price increased significantly when purchased at a breeze-up sale in April, makes plenty of appeal and may well be good enough to make an immediate impact. Perfect Strike failed to make an impact on his debut but improvement is likely, as should be the case with Crusherman. Solar Swing might be worth more than a cursory glance in the betting too.

RED GLORY has top weight but ran well in a notable course event in July and was not not disgraced at Galway most recently. A four-time career winner, the selection continues to progress and should not be be underestimated. Liam Swagger has done most of his racing on the Flat but has won two of four previous hurdle runs and ran nicely at Galway. Cheltenham Festival winner Final Orders completes the shortlist.

FASTNET CRYSTAL ran well at Galway last month and looks capable of striking again. That form looks solid and she sets the standard with mark of 121. Easter Bonnet has a rating of 118 after her impressive success at Cork earlier this month. She showed significant improvement that day and is an obvious danger here. Ardeen Joy made little impression in handicap company at Galway last time but should be able to play a bigger part now.

It's hard to get away from AL WATHBA, who only found subsequent Vintage Stakes runner-up Haffner too good on debut prior to failing to justify odds-on favouritism when filling the same spot at Leicester latest. KAINDY produced another encouraging display when finishing third over a mile here earlier in the month and that was just his first start back. With the potential for lots more to come, he looks the one to beat. Sea Brave was only beaten a length into second at Chelmsford behind Saxon Street, who struck at Listed level subsequently, and he has to be taken seriously on his return to action. Of the remainder, Palliser makes the most appeal.

With his rivals looking exposed, BOLD SHOUT is the one with the most scope for progression on his handicap debut. Having won a novice event at Salisbury a fortnight ago, despite not appearing to be at ease on the course, an opening mark of of 70 could underestimate the son of Starman. The consistent Lion of Mali must be taken seriously based on recent form, while Brisk Symphony is a previous course winner that commands respect now the handicapper has cut him some slack.

SYOSSET has been knocking on the door and may be able to make the breakthrough here. The Crystal Ocean gelding has been placed on his last four outings and ran another solid race when third at Kilbeggan last time. He remains on the same mark of 92 and is tried in cheekpieces now. Tropical Twist won on her penultimate start but disappointed last time at Downpatrick. She was reported to have a bit of swelling on her knee then and she'd be a big player if that run can be forgiven. Cinnabar Moth didn't run too badly when fourth at Tramore last time and could be place material.

Bridget's View outran her odds of 25/1 when fifth here on her most recent start and the booking of Rossa Ryan is noteworthy. Charlie Fellowes' charge finished a close third over this distance at Southwell in June and the application of first-time cheekpieces might eke out the improvement required to strike.

LIVEMORE stepped forward from a very green effort at Nottingham on his debut to win with plenty in hand at Newmarket last month. That was a visually impressive display and, with his pedigree suggesting middle distances should suit, stepping up a couple of furlongs is a logical move. The hat-trick seeking Empirical has improved since his stamina has been more emphasised with headgear added. He again looks a key player. Edwin Hubble only went up 3lb for his Sandown win and also merits close inspection.

BINTKNIGHT gained a second career victory at Lingfield and the manner of that performance suggested an extra couple of furlongs may bring about further improvement from Harry Charlton's filly. Bint Kilfrush could be the type to have benefited from a summer break after her last appearance at Ascot in May, while others to note include Ladykirk, Gloryous and Aphrodite Spirit.

Bintaryana had progressed nicely until a below-par effort at Glorious Goodwood but it would be no surprise if she bounced back with her sights lowered. Aigeas ran out a comfortable winner over C&D and commands plenty of respect, despite a 10lb rise, but the vote goes to SOCIETY KISS. She built on her Southwell return when runner-up at Windsor and the step up to 6f is expected to see her in a better light. From The Hip and Wezzeer are others open to improvement.

HOT SILK produced her best effort to date when runner-up here earlier in the month and the extra yardage combined with the addition of first-time cheekpieces gives James Fanshawe's filly every chance of getting off the mark. Evening Fades made a significant mid-race move when finishing second at Wolverhampton and she can play a leading role off a 2lb higher mark. Recent Newmarket winner Traveling Man and Lord Mayor complete the shortlist.
