There were 33 Races on Thursday 28th August 2025 across 5 meetings. There was 6 races at Ffos Las, 6 races at Chelmsford City, 7 races at Navan, 7 races at Newbury, 7 races at Southwell, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.
The data in the racecards below is for the past year. View the racecard key.

GOUKEN's two previous starts have plenty of substance and there could be plenty to come from Ed Walker's progressive colt. High Approval, who sets the standard as far as official ratings go at this stage, is another highly noteworthy contender based on the evidence available. Art Lover and Hypnotised are also potential improvers to bear in mind, especially if the betting speaks in their favour.

High Approval, Art Lover and Hypnotised need considering but the vote goes to GOUKEN, who still looked a tad raw last time.
Class & Speed Card

Plenty of these have the potential to improve now pitched into nurseries, including Walk On Walk On, who arrives with his head held high following a creditable third at Windsor. Demetrius merits respect under a 6lb penalty, having won at Catterick latest, while Princess Billyboy does not look overburdened by an opening mark of 61. However, preference is for TOO HOT TO LOVE. Tom Clover has his string in fine form and given that his charge is related to a number of all-weather winners, she could step forward.

Demetrius is a major player under a penalty for Catterick but C&D winner ECLIPSER may well prove suited by the return to AW.
Class & Speed Card

CACTUS looks capable of scoring off this mark on her handicap debut. The Wootton Bassett filly shaped nicely when third on her introduction at Naas, but didn't back that up when a short price at the same course on softer ground. She met some traffic at Cork last time before staying on to finish sixth and stepping back up from 5f should help now. Idiocracy drops in trip having shown up well for a long way at Roscommon over 7 1/2f. She could be a danger. Prairie Echoes is the sole previous winner in the field, making all at Sligo earlier in the month. She has to be respected, despite a 6lb rise.

It was an improved performance from MONTE VISTA on her h'cap debut having met some trouble and she may improve for blinkers this time
Class & Speed Card

FRENCH AFFAIR resumed after being gelded with a resolute effort to win on his nursery debut at Newbury 13 days ago and could be ideally situated to follow up from just 3lb higher. Born Slippy has shaped as if he can pay his way going forward and looks the chief danger to Richard Hannon's improving youngster. Woolisle and Alasrae are other notable contenders now they go handicapping.

Open, but WOOLISLE improved greatly for the switch to turf at Windsor and any change in the going may not be a big problem for her.
Class & Speed Card

Armstrong sets the form standard following a couple of promising runs in defeat but although George Boughey's colt is unlikely to be far away, it is ARCHER ROYAL that shades preference. The son of Blue Point fetched 340,000gns as a yearling whilst being related to a host of useful individuals, so it would come as no great surprise were he good enough to land the spoils. Warning Symbol won't find this as taxing as the Goodwood maiden he contested latest and first-time cheekpieces could spark some improvement.

Armstrong is second choice behind SOVEREIGN VIEW who was caught wider than ideal at Southwell. He's selected to get off the mark.
Class & Speed Card

It never really happened for THE HIGHWAY RAT on his last outing at the Curragh after missing the kick and he may be worth another shot at a track that he likes. The admirable veteran had been in fine form previously and was a winner over the minimum trip here back in May. Moltophino has been knocking on the door in three starts after a win at the Curragh in May and is another who has to be on the shortlist. Dundalk winner Genesis is 1lb out of the handicap, but must be respected.

Recent Dundalk winner GENESIS can follow up if settling as well, Nezeeh a likely danger
Class & Speed Card

Diamondsinthesand and THE COLA KID appear to have the best chances on these terms and look the pair to focus on. The former has a good record at this course and was successful in a handicap over C&D on his penultimate start. However, The Cola Kid is a multiple winner over this trip and looks the type to make the most of reverting to classified company. Red Walls and Willingly could be other key players.

Two-time course winner DIAMONDSINTHESAND arrives in good heart and is the selection ahead of Payforanother Daay.
Class & Speed Card

The vote goes to CURRAHEE, who was beaten only a neck over 6f here a fortnight ago. Stuart Williams' gelding is sure to appreciate the extra furlong he encounters on this occasion and a subsequent 2lb rise should be no barrier to success. Moonlight Bomb hit the crossbar himself at Chepstow latest and could improve for the fitting of first-time blinkers, while market support for handicap debutant Rogue Officer would be noteworthy following a 224-day absence.

Currahee can go well once again but DOLLYANA has been running well, placing in two of her last three starts, and is the selection.
Class & Speed Card

It probably wasn't the strongest Listed race in which NAMIID was third last time, but it was a solid run nonetheless and he deserves to get his head in front now back in maiden company. The Acclamation colt has been placed three times from six starts and his mark of 86 sets the standard. It's noteworthy that Dylan Browne McMonagle chooses Mr Tony from the Joseph O'Brien-trained trio. The son of Kodiac was well beaten on debut at the Curragh and needs to improve significantly. Julian Pietropaolo takes 7lb off stablemate Raphello, who has been placed on his last two starts and should be a big player.

This is a good chance for NAMIID who arrives on the back of a Listed third at the Curragh 12 days ago and that effort sets the standard
Class & Speed Card

The Gosdens won this last season and are back for more with the Godolphin-owned Port Of London, although he needs to find plenty of improvement after a below-expectations debut at Windsor. Hunsterson has the necessary stamina after finishing third over further on his Goodwood introduction, running on late, but KLASSLEADER is preferred for the in-form Haggas team. Only beaten a neck when stepped up to this trip at Doncaster, with the front two clear of the rest, a repeat of that may be all he needs.

The well-bred KLASSLEADER went close at Doncaster last month on his second start and can go one better this afternoon.
Class & Speed Card

Vibrato appreciated the return to the all-weather when victorious at Southwell on his most recent outing and holds an obvious chance off just 3lb higher. However, MC LOVEN wasn't disgraced in third in a stronger contest at Lingfield earlier in the month and has been dropped 1lb. The son of Harry Angel lurks on an appealing rating and looks the way to go. General Assembly is another to keep an eye on.

The vote goes to MC LOVEN (nap) who is on a good mark and must have a good chance of getting to the front early from the inside stall.
Class & Speed Card

This looks like a good opportunity for IPANEMA BEACH. The well-bred Siyouni colt, a son of Group 3 winner Sizzling, has been placed twice from four starts but was probably a bit below par on softer ground at Killarney last time. He is fitted with blinkers now. Strikewhileitshot was no match for the impressive Montreal at Leopardstown, but that was a step forward from his first run and he could play a bigger part now. Clarity of Thought made little impression on his handicap debut at Killarney, but showed some ability in his first two runs and blinkers may help.

Moyglare entry CELESTIAL SIREN had excuses last time but rates a big player on her Curragh debut run. Ipanema Beach looks next best
Class & Speed Card

Zambezi Magic took this prize last year and has a solid chance once more now racing off 2lb lower and after a second here last time out. He has won four times at the track and might prove the biggest danger to the hat-trick seeking OFFIAH'S BOY, who looked value for more than the official half-length margin when supplementing a Bath triumph at Salisbury. Meet Me In Meraki has finished second on his last two starts, but may have to settle for third here.

The forecast rain counts against a few of these and preference is for ZAMBEZI MAGIC who won this race on heavy ground last year.
Class & Speed Card

Black Endeavour took a pleasing step forward to get off the mark at Nottingham earlier in the month and might improve for the extra furlong. Bosom Pals prevailed by a head on her nursery debut at Thirsk and is noted, but BLUE TO BLUE gets the nod. Karl Burke's youngster finished a fair fourth at Newmarket last time and has been dropped 1lb. With Jack Nicholls claiming a handy 5lb, he looks the way to go.

It will be fascinating to see who the betting speaks for but the vote goes to PEPPER FIZZ ahead of Zipwire and Bosom Pals.
Class & Speed Card

ESTMRAR finished second on his debut over 7f here last November prior to running with credit in both starts at Meydan. The Crisfords' three-year-old, who has been gelded and undergone a wind operation since, sets a fair standard with an official rating of 87. Lordsbridge Grey took a step forward when fourth at Lingfield last time and may have more to offer in a first-time tongue-tie. Any market confidence behind newcomer Pulsar Star would be interesting.

Another chance is given to ESTMRAR, who was turned over at short odds in UAE on his latest appearance but had looked useful beforehand.
Class & Speed Card

MEDIEVAL NIGHT was somewhat unlucky not to score on his handicap debut and although raised 5lb, he remains on a favourable rating. From a smart Moyglare family, he showed just mild promise as a juvenile but was notably well supported on his first start for 305 days at Leopardstown. Ridden patiently, he finished well in that big-field handicap and with a tongue-tie now applied, he should progress. Noli Timere easily won a Naas maiden and now debuts in handicaps. She is suited by this distance and should compete. The dependable Imposing Supreme has been running well in useful contests and today's rider now claims 7lb.

Still looking green, MEDIEVAL NIGHT (nap) shaped well on his recent handicap debut, following a long absence, and could well improve
Class & Speed Card

Bernard Llewellyn won this last year and seems eager for a repeat having four of the 12 runners, with Mind Hunter possibly the pick after finishing second off this mark over C&D. Sophar Sogood stayed on to win at Catterick but has an added 4lb, and a chance is taken on HICCUPS. Still a maiden after 12 starts, he was left with too much to do in that Catterick race and will hopefully be ridden much nearer to the pace here.

Not many of these hold any secrets but unexposed 3yo JEDHI KNIGHT (nap) has the allure of an improver and can make the breakthrough.
Class & Speed Card

Superior cost 100,000 pounds as a yearling and is a half-brother to Listed scorer Dragon Leader, so he is one to watch closely in the betting. However, LEONE ALATO shaped with lots of promise when making the frame on his debut at Newmarket earlier in the month. The son of St Mark's Basilica is likely to improve on that effort and can put his experience to good use. Law Court completes the shortlist.

Three promising sorts stand out from the rest on form, with LAW COURT slightly preferred to Leone Alato and Dark Shore.
Class & Speed Card

FOINIX made his way through the field to score in a class 6 handicap at Brighton earlier in the month and arguably brings the best recent form to the table. As long as the five-year-old can back that performance up, he will prove tough to beat. Madrigal Moment ran a career-best when hitting the crossbar at Ripon last month and the booking of Luke Morris catches the eye. Of the remainder, Star Of St Louis makes the most appeal.

Brighton winner Foinix is second choice but preference is for MADRIGAL MOMENT who posted an improved effort at Ripon last time.
Class & Speed Card

ENZIYA has useful recent form and could be suited by stepping up in distance. A winner in June, he was seemingly caught out by Tramore's undulations when staying on from off the pace to finish second last time and should compete from 2lb higher. Trubshaw and God The Highness are very closely matched on their recent Sligo meeting but while God The Highness is less exposed, the pair contest a slightly stronger race. Far Eclipse met significant trouble when well beaten on his handicap debut at Ballinrobe. Although speedily-bred, he could possibly be suited by this much longer distance and, notably, seems his trainer's first-string.

Without much pace in this, it could go the way of TRUBSHAW who battled on gamely from the front at Sligo last time
Class & Speed Card

TAROT showed lots of ability when finishing second on her debut over track and trip last month and is likely to have plenty of improvement in her. Roger Varian's filly sports a first-time hood and could progress to get off the mark. Mojito changed hands for 95,000gns as a yearling and is related to a couple of winners, so she warrants a market check on her introduction. Chicory finished fifth at Windsor on her first start and is another to consider.

C&D second TAROT looks the only one to consider seriously among those who have run but plenty of the newcomers look striking candidates.
Class & Speed Card

YOUNG LUCY scored over hurdles recently having previously been frustrating to follow, and should now be suited by reverting to this staying Flat distance. A bumper winner, she has failed in 10 previous starts on the level but ran well behind a stablemate at Newcastle in June and retains a favourable enough rating of just 56. Three-time jumps winner Bynx is a 16-race maiden on the Flat, but has good recent form and has already run well in similar races this summer. Arcland has been performing consistently well and gained his second career win over 1m5f here in June.

A chance taken on in form course winner ARCLAND who hit the crossbar again last time and he's only up another 1lb
Class & Speed Card

The consistent SAY WHAT YOU SEE is due for a 4lb rise in future handicaps. Indeed, this could be a good time to catch the son of Belardo, given he won his only previous start over 1m4f and confirmed his wellbeing with a close-up second to an 80-rated opponent in the Racing League fixture at Newcastle last week. Spirit Of Jura rates a player cutting back in both class and trip, while Crystal Mariner, Sugarloaf Lenny and Criminal are other appealing options.

Having been a clear second in the Racing League at Newcastle last Thursday, SAY WHAT YOU SEE is 4lb ahead of the handicapper.
Class & Speed Card

With a number of notable debutants lining up, the market is likely to guide and only a tentative vote can go to IMPERIAL BALLET. The daughter of Blue Point is related to a couple of smart individuals and although perhaps further will suit in time, she is likely to have the speed to cope with 6f. Ed Walker landed a division of this event 12 months ago so Sunday Girl needs to be monitored in the betting, while others to note include Khafar, Bintola and Running Hot.

All the newcomers have something to recommend them on paper. The market moves should be instructive but SUNDAY GIRL might be the pick.
Class & Speed Card

KOSOMETSUKE's form since being gelded has been highly consistent and there is plenty to like. A winner over 7f at Kempton in May, the son of Kodiac has been a close-up second in all three starts since and he doesn't have much to find to emulate his dam by making a winning switch to Tapeta. Philanthropist and Brazilian Rose are well treated on these terms and could be serious players, while last year's winner Noodle Mission is also dangerous to underestimate.

The 3yos could hold sway here, with PHILANTHROPIST (nap) preferred to Best Rate, Kosometsuke and Thurso.
Class & Speed Card

Sunny Corner bolted up at Salisbury and a 6lb rise looks more than fair, but WAR HOWL gets the verdict. Mick Appleby's three-year-old arrives on the back of wins at Doncaster and Ascot, each over 7f. He left it late to record the latest of those so stepping up to the mile is expected to unlock further improvement. Tenbob Tommy finished a creditable third over an inadequate 7f at Salisbury a fortnight ago, despite being hampered, and has the potential to progress now sent handicapping.

The 3yo WAR HOWL (nap) is thriving for Mick Appleby and is taken to complete a hat-trick. Drifts Away is feared most.
Class & Speed Card

HAVANA RUM appeals strongly on the back of a ready success in the Silver Cup at Ripon 12 days ago. The highly capable Ethan Tindall retains the ride and another bold showing can be expected with the memory of that career-best effort still fresh. With leading contenders such as Aberama Gold and the hat-trick seeking City Captain both allotted high draws, a berth in stall 14 could easily be manageable for the selection. Fierce and Miss Hathaway are other in-form rivals to consider.

City Captain hasn't reached his ceiling yet but ORMOLULU has conditions to suit and can go well granted any luck in running.
Class & Speed Card

Slipper Time got off the mark by a neck over this trip at Salisbury and he can go well off a rating of 76 for his handicap debut. Mr Ubiquitous ticks a lot of boxes with a C&D win among three victories over this trip, but GOLDEN REDEMPTION gets the nod. Andrew Balding's colt ran on well to win his maiden over shorter here and should be at his peak now on his fourth start since arriving from the UAE.

This is wide open, with any number needing to be considered, but MORTE POINT could well be ready for 7f now and gets the vote.
Class & Speed Card

Sir Bob Parker intrigues on his first start for Jennie Candlish even if his last start was at Saint-Cloud where he finished third in a Group 2 in May 2022, but to expect him to win looks a huge ask. ARTISAN DANCER is due to go up 2lb for future contests and could strike off this mark following his York second, while Zealandia will also go up the same amount after his Newcastle third.

Zealandia and ARTISAN DANCER are due to go up in the weights, after good efforts last week, and can fight this out.
Class & Speed Card

Windsor scorer SIR WILLIAM is fancied to follow up under Tom Marquand, despite a 4lb rise. The William Haggas-trained gelding wandered once he hit the front, but still justified favouritism by close to two lengths that day and he may have more to offer. Masterinthewoods kept on well to win at Haydock, although an added 4lb looks harsh. Wolfpack could be interesting if he takes to first-time cheekpieces.

The top two options may be Masterinthewoods, who scored in taking fashion on his latest outing, and KOKANEE who shaped well on his.
Class & Speed Card

Four-year-olds have won both runnings of this race and that may continue if NAEPOINT bounces back to his best. Gelded after two wins at Redcar, he returned with a last of 21 in the Spring Mile at Doncaster, but has since changed yard and is now with Richard Fahey. He could make the most of weaker opposition here to come home in front. Transparent has only missed a top three finish once from eight starts and he might get the better of Gloriously Sassy for second.

Two visits to Southwell have yielded two impressive C&D wins for OCEAN ODYSSEY and he can bounce back from a disappointing run on turf.
Class & Speed Card

Crowd Quake has improved at a rate of knots this term, winning six times in total including at Chepstow three weeks ago. A 5lb rise looks fair, but he could face competition for the lead and that could play into the hands of FANTASY BELIEVER. Ed Walker's finished a couple of lengths behind the selection in third latest but with a swing in the weights on a track that suits, he could turn the tables. Others to note include Bowerchalke and Liberty Coach.

Fantasy Believer won this last year and can go well again but CROWD QUAKE may well improve further as he's bred to do well on AW.
Class & Speed Card

Against The Wind made all to record a comfortable success over C&D last month but although respected, a 9lb rise will ask sterner questions of him. With that in mind, preference is for NORTHERN SPIRIT, who remains competitively treated under a 5lb penalty having won at Newcastle last Thursday. Tan Rapido enters calculations, as does all-weather specialist Paddy's Day, while dual course winner The Bell Conductor shouldn't be overlooked either in what is a wide-open sprint.

If Clarendon House breaks on terms he will be hard to beat but PADDY'S DAY may not have reached his ceiling on AW just yet.
Ths is the racecard key.
