LTO Selection:

13:35 Market Rasen Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BOOK OF SECRETS has been threatening to open his account over obstacles and this looks like a nice opportunity for him to shed his maiden tag. Charles and Adam Pogson's charge was only collared late when second over 2m at Southwell last time and a repeat of that run would see him hard to peg back today. Moro Rock appears to be the biggest danger after making a nice start to his hurdles career when fourth over the extended 2m4f at this venue last time and this drop in trip is likely to suit, while John The Baptist heads the remainder.

In first-time cheekpieces, BOOK OF SECRETS returned to form when runner-up at Southwell 19 days ago and he sets the standard in this contest. The 5-y-o can get the better of Moro Rock, who made the frame at this course on his hurdling debut, while John The Baptist could fare better now handicapping having had a wind op.

He's not one to rely upon heavily but BOOK OF SECRETS ran a big race from the front in first-time cheekpieces at Southwell last month.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Galway Handicap Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Emmet Mullins has lined up TEED UP and Aurora Princess for a busy week and whichever horse turns up for a third run should take all the beating, with a 1-2 being a possibility. TEED UP revels in testing ground and while 10lb higher than when winning here last year, should better his 113 rating. The in-form Stilyker is open to further progression but is better suited by a sound surface and disappointed having raced too keenly on testing ground in May. Hearts Are Trumps is 6lb higher than when winning at Ballinrobe but would prefer good, while Boom Boom Boom ran well in a useful handicap in June but prefers fast ground. Four-year-old By Your Side likes testing ground but was well held at Bellewstown and has plenty weight while Scottish raider Trebizond was well held in June and would prefer good. Bal De Rio won an ordinary recent claimer. Bythesametoken, 11-race maiden Hidalgo Des Mottes and Wee Charlie have been running well but face stiff tasks.

TEED UP landed this prize last year just three days after finishing second at the same meeting and is taken to repeat the dose, having gone close in a valuable handicap on the Flat here on Friday evening. He remains open to improvement in this sphere. Stilyker improved when scoring at Sligo and while this is a much tougher assignment, he is respected and is next on the list ahead of Hidalgo Des Mottes.

Teed Up has to be involved but it may pay to take a chance on GOLD SPEED who belatedly returns to the scene of his maiden success.

LTO Selection:

14:00 Chester Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although ALBA LONGA was unable to complete a double at Goodwood in June, that third-placed finish was more than respectable and a similar performance off 1lb lower here may suffice. Restorer has posted some creditable efforts over C&D of late and shouldn't be far away off his current mark. Dreams Adozen and Neandra also have bits and pieces of form that give them a squeak too, in what looks an open affair.

ALBA LONGA has improved plenty in handicaps this season and this looks a good opportunity for her to resume winning ways. Neandra is used to keeping better company than this so may emerge as the main threat under top weight.

This can go to ALBA LONGA who remains unexposed and any further easing in the ground will be very much in her favour.

14:10 Market Rasen Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ROCK ON HARRY recorded back-to-back second-placed finishes last month and this appears to be the perfect chance to get his head in front. Tom Lacey's runner was just touched off over 2m at Worcester last time, beaten just a short head by a big-priced rival and that form entitles him to great respect today. Saint Jaguen is feared most after his third over C&D last time and he'll know more after running green late in the day on that occasion, while Gold In Doha is another to note.

ROCK ON HARRY was only just denied on his handicap bow at Worcester and this looks an excellent opportunity back in a maiden. Saint Jaguen can follow him home in a weak affair.

The one to beat is ROCK ON HARRY, who returns to novice company after going very close in a recent handicap.

14:20 Galway Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Lightly-raced stayer CALL THE TUNE reverts to hurdles in first-time cheekpieces but is somewhat unexposed over hurdles. He should improve from his return from a 449-day layoff at Kilbeggan and his best form, in winning a Navan heavy-ground chase in 2022 and chasing home the well-in Ballyshannon Rose on his previous hurdle run in 2021, gives him every chance. Pure Sirloin was a well backed winner at Navan and while pulled up on his most recent run, returns from a short break, stays well and likes easy ground. Macgiloney and My Design are closely matched on a dramatic Kilbeggan race in June when both fell at the final flight and should get involved. Peaches And Cream was well held at Killarney but is a dour stayer who is rated higher over fences. Pairc Na Ngael is rated 14lb higher over fences but prefers good ground, while stablemate Summer Tide's best form is also on a sound surface. Sphagnum is rated 6lb lower in this sphere but disappointed on a recent chase run. Junior Rattler ran well behind Pakens Rock at Kilbeggan but hasn't won since May 2021.

SUMMER TIDE wasn't disgraced when sixth in this race off a 4 lb higher mark last year and is appealing returned to this sphere with conditions in his favour. True Destiny and Junior Rattler are feared most in that order of preference. A couple of these would be dangerous if staging a return to form, most notably Pairc Na Ngael.

First reserve MENINDEE seems sure to get a run given that three of these are due to run here on Friday and gets the vote

14:30 Chester Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PRETENCE drew clear with a progressive rival when second over C&D on her stable debut last month and a 6lb rise may not be enough to prevent Hugo Palmer's filly from going one better. Making Dreams makes her nursery debut off what appears to be a fair mark judged on the maiden victory at Catterick last Wednesday and she may give the selection most to think about, with Guns And Flowers making most appeal of the remainder.

The top weights may dominate this nursery. PRETENCE knows her way around here and gets the nod with Harry Davies taking a handy 3 lb off. Commander Crouch appeals as a likely improver now stepping up in trip for his nursery debut and is second choice under Buick. Making Dreams is quite closely matched with the selection on C&D selling form earlier in the year and may prove best of the remainder.

This can go to PRETENCE (nap) who won over C&D in June and has since performed even better when just beaten in a nursery back here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HERONORD was a facile winner over the extended 2m at Newton Abbot last time and a repeat of that effort would see him hard to beat today. Evan Williams' charge scored by four lengths on that occasion and this 5lb rise in the ratings doesn't appear likely to be enough to halt her progression. The hat-trick seeking Guinness Affair is likely to pose the most questions to the selection, but this may be a step too far after being raised a total of 11lb by the handicapper for his successive wins, while Rakhine State, who won at Perth last time over the extended 2m, also commands respect.

GUINNESS AFFAIR has an excellent strike rate and found plenty to double his tally over fences at Newton Abbot, so he's preferred to Perth-winner Rakhine State.

Topweight GUINNESS AFFAIR has won five of his eight starts and is taken to complete a hat-trick having won over fences the last twice.

LTO Selection:

14:55 Galway Conditions Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The keen-going SAINT SAM steps up slightly to his longest distance to date but has good recent form over middle-distances and has a touch of class. He concedes weight but has twice been Grade 1-placed and is an enthusiastic and progressive six-year-old. Stumptown finished a close second in Cheltenham's Kim Muir Chase in March and while forgiven a pulled-up effort in the Irish National having made jumping errors, drops in distance and doesn't have the selection's pace. Andy Dufresne was an early casualty in the Galway Plate and while a Grade 2-winning hurdler at his best, hasn't won since December 2020. Peregrine Run, a marvellous 20-time winner, is now 13, while Born By The Sea was well held in Thursday's Plate.

SAINT SAM cruised clear when landing a Grade 3 at Killarney 83 days ago and he's firmly expected to go in again seeing as his main rivals on form have a bit to prove. Both Andy Dufresne and Peregrine Run can make a race of it if back to their best, however.

With his sights lowered SAINT SAM has his confidence back and can complete the hat-trick

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HIDDEN PASS should have learned plenty from his narrow defeat on debut at Haydock last month and Charlie Appleby's colt is fancied to gain a breakthrough success at the second time of asking. There was a lot to like about Aragon Castle's first victory at Epsom in July and he can't be taken lightly with Callum Hutchinson effectively negating half of the 6lb penalty with his claim. Valadero also enters the reckoning on his best form and completes the shortlist.

VALADERO is expected to bounce back returned to easier conditions and can make a winning start for Darryll Holland. Aragon Castle slammed a subsequent winner at Epsom so must be feared under a penalty, with Hidden Pass another obvious contender after his debut second at Haydock.

The choice is ARAGON CASTLE whose Epsom win was given a big boost when the runner-up won the Class 2 nursery at Goodwood on Thursday.

15:20 Market Rasen Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Last-time-out winner Cilluirid arrives in fine fettle, but Tim Easterby's inmate will need to settle better if aspiring to complete a double on this step up to 3m. With that in mind, HARDY BOY makes most appeal. The six-year-old found only a progressive rival too strong over 2m7f at Worcester last time andm despite 1lb rise, he shapes as if there are still races to be won with him off his current mark. Croagh Patrick has been knocking on the door and is a viable alternative in his present form.

CROAGH PATRICK has been running well lately and this doesn't look a strong handicap, so he might be able to belatedly get back on the scoresheet. Hardy Boy looks the main danger and Cilluirid, an old rival of the selection, is a player if he gets the trip.

The suggestion is CROAGH PATRICK (nap), who scores very good marks for consistency and won't mind what the weather does.

15:30 Galway Handicap Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ROSEY'S HOLLOW got off the mark over fences recently and should run well in her first handicap chase. A Grade 3-winning novice hurdler in 2021, she has been slightly disappointing since and while this race is much tougher her Tipperary win, she competes from a low weight and is ground-versatile. Hubrisko is a course hurdle winner who is rated 5lb higher in this sphere than over hurdles but should compete on his handicap chase debut, having run consistently recently. Vado Forte was a minor surprise winner of last year's renewal and while his rating slightly climbed before he was subsequently claimed, he showed some of his old sparkle at Punchestown in June. Sole Pretender has been an excellent performer and while he refused to race at Tipperary, he defied a big weight to win a Listed chase at Killarney subsequently, although he has a preference for good ground. Hereditary Rule won well at the Punchestown Festival but is 10lb higher today with today's rider claiming 4lb less and he drops slightly in distance.

The unexposed HUBRISKO remains capable of better heading into handicaps so gets the vote. Vado Forte won this last year off 6 lb higher so must be respected for all he hasn't hit those heights for his current yard. Sole Pretender may have his quirks but he arrives on the back of a career-best win at Killarney under this rider.

Having missed the cut for Wednesday's Plate HEREDITARY RULE could be the one to beat here

LTO Selection:

15:38 Chester Listed (Class 1) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

NOBLE STYLE is clear of these rivals on official ratings and this looks like a nice opportunity of bouncing back to form in these calmer waters after running in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last time. Connections have gelded him since that display and the application of blinkers may also aid his cause. Richard Hannon's Ehraz is feared most after running with credit when fifth in the Hackwood at Newbury, while Mitbaahy should also be seriously considered.

Conditions should be ideal for the mud-loving FAST RESPONSE who can bounce back from a lesser effort at Goodwood earlier in the week with the drop back to 6f in her favour. Ehraz ran well in the Hackwood at Newbury recently and might be a more solid option for the forecast spot than last season's very good 2-y-o Noble Style, who has been gelded since his disappointing run in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

Despite a much stiffer task PAWS FOR THOUGHT can complete the four-timer. He likes it here and is the only established front-runner.

LTO Selection:

15:45 Haydock Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The veteran Copper Knight has rolled back the years with successive wins but has edged up the handicap as a result and may now prove vulnerable. Manila Scouse has to go on the shortlist following a near-miss at York last time out, but any value here may lie with MISS BRAZEN. The Michael & David Easterby-trained filly was an impressive winner at Beverley when last presented with soft ground and she is much better than she showed at Doncaster last time when starting awkwardly.

Plenty to consider with the vote going to SHEIKH MAZ MAHOOD, who will find this easier than the race he contested at the Curragh 5 weeks ago. Copper Knight remains on a good mark as he bids for the hat-trick so is the obvious threat, while Manila Scouse will surely be winning again before too long.

Copper Knight and Manila Scouse are feared but there could be more to come from SHEIKH MAZ MAHOOD on slow ground.

15:52 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CLASSIC LADY may have found her heavy defeat at Cartmel last month coming too soon after winning at Hexham a week earlier and Mark Walford's mare could bounce back to winning ways if freshened up by a small break. Pardon Me is entitled to build on her seasonal debut when finishing eighth here recently, with Patrick Wadge's 5lb claim effectively putting the veteran 2lb below her last winning mark. She could pose the biggest threat to the selection, ahead of the unexposed Fabuleux Du Clos

CLASSIC LADY was a lot better than the result at Cartmel and can show she's still ahead of the handicapper having been freshened up since. Riggsby caught the eye a bit at Southwell last time and is interesting now stepping up in trip given how well he stays on the Flat. Pardon Me could be all the sharper with a recent run under her belt and also makes the shortlist.

She flopped when favourite at Cartmel last time but that race may have come too soon for CLASSIC LADY, who was progressive previously.

16:00 Galway Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CURRENT OPTION is fancied to cement his place as a Galway Festival legend by landing this feature race for a fourth successive year. The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding has been given a chance by the handicapper as his three previous wins here came off marks of 99, 105 and 97 but he still seems to retain plenty of his old zest. He probably ran too keen and was denied a clear passage when still beaten just over two lengths here over a mile on Tuesday. He can reverse places with Dunum and the selection's stable companion Casanova, who both finished in the money on that occasion and should again go well. Hotrocket is on a hat-trick after scoring with a bit in hand over this trip at both Gowran and Fairyhouse and Conor Stone-Walsh again claims a valuable 7lb. On A Session filled the runner-up spot in this race last year and is effective on soft ground.

HOTROCKET hasn't achieved as much as several of these, but he's clealry on an upward curve and, with just seven runs under his belt, the best is probably still to come. He is taken to complete the hat-trick at the chief expense of Percy's Lad, who is one of two British raiders and wasn't beaten far when seventh in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot last time. Current Option is bidding for a fourth consecutive victory in this race and has to be feared, while Dunum is another to consider.

DUNUM finished third here on Tuesday and appears the one most likely to be as effective back in trip

16:08 Chester Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

G'DAAY shaped as if this slight step up in trip could unlock more improvement after scoring by a length over 7f at Epsom last time and he looks primed to offer another bold bid with a 3lb rise unlikely to halt his progression. On The River returned to winning ways at Beverley on his latest start and a repeat of that run would see him enter the reckoning, while Ffion is capable of better in first-time cheekpieces.

ON THE RIVER was comfortably on top of Rhoscolyn (who won a competitive event at Goodwood earlier in the week) at Beverley last time and the 3-lb rise is cancelled out by his jockey's claim, so he's well capable of following up. Fellow last-time-out winner G'Daay is a threat and course specialist Ffion can make her presence felt if the pace is strong.

The 10yo SAFE VOYAGE showed in May that he retains considerable ability and won in 2021 on his sole previous visit to Chester.

A half-brother to the Group 3 winner Ventura Rebel, the son of Mayson holds a valuable sales race entry later in the year and should take some stopping as long as the market vibes aren't negative. Amroon is a Showcasing colt who has to be considered given that his sales price has twice risen incrementally, while Ralph Beckett's filly Forever Blue changed hands for 80,000 guineas and is also likely to have plenty to offer.

This could be a test for these newcomers and the aptly-named RAINWATER, who makes plenty of appeal on paper, could be the way to go for a yard going well with their 2-y-os. Forever Blue and Amroon are also interesting before market clues.

With no form to go on, the betting should be revealing. RAINWATER may prove best equipped to cope with today's test.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GREATNESS AWAITS was set to go extremely close on handicap debut at Uttoxeter last Friday until the saddle slipped and the four-year-old unseated his rider in the final strides. Ben Pauling's gelding likely has more to offer and compensation could await off only 1lb higher. Summergrounds offered something to work with when fourth at this venue in June, while Melvich Bay and Spot On Soph complete the shortlist.

GREATNESS AWAITS was about to go down narrowly on his handicap debut when losing his rider in the shadow of the post at Uttoxeter 9 days ago so has obvious claims up only 1 lb. Summergrounds remains with potential in handicaps so is next best ahead of Spot On Soph.

The most appealing option is SUMMERGROUNDS who made an encouraging handicap debut here two months ago.

STROMBERG was unlucky to come up against the smart looking Caught U Looking in a similar event at Leopardstown last month. The Joseph O'Brien-trained colt was no match for the well-backed winner but drew clear of the remainder in that 18-runner maiden and should progress with the benefit of the run. Caught U Looking's trainer Noel Meade is now represented by Kiki Roberts who stepped forward from her first start when ridden more prominently at Bellewstown last month. Romford put in his best work at the finish on debut behind Givemethebeatboys at Navan. That form has been well advertised since and he should appreciate the step up in trip.

This is best left to STROMBERG, who made a promising start to his career when runner-up on debut at Leopardstown where he pulled nicely clear of the rest. He is evidently held in high regard (holds Group-race entries) and should take this prior to going on to better things. Kiki Roberts gets the nod ahead of Romford for forecast purposes. Newcomer Apollo Prince is worth a second look in the betting.

It's very difficult to get away from STROMBERG who finished clear of the rest behind a stylish winner at Leopardstown.

16:38 Chester Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

STATELY HOME wasn't beaten far when third over 1m2f at Sandown last time when taking a step back in the right direction and the six-year-old, who is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark, gets the vote. First Impression filled the runner-up spot over 1m 2f at Ayr last time and commands plenty of respect, while Jean Baptiste has been given a chance by the handicapper to get involved.

FIRST IMPRESSION was second to one that followed up when last seen 3 months ago and returns at a time when his stable is flying, so he takes preference over Flight of Angels, who might get her own way in front under Franny Norton. Stately Home was back to form and slightly better than the result at Sandown recently, so he's another one to consider.

Jean Baptiste and First Impression both have solid claims at this level but STATELY HOME ran well last time and is preferred.

LTO Selection:

16:45 Haydock Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The revitalised Be Proud, twice successful over 6f at Doncaster last month, is likely mount a strong hat-trick bid here but a 6lb rise might just leave him vulnerable in these conditions. Preference is for improving three-year-old DARK TROOPER, who doesn't look to have been over-penalised (3lb rise) for a cosy win at Yarmouth last time. Illusionist under-performed at Hamilton last time but was a ready winner when last seen in a class 4 handicap and goes well on an easy surface.

DARK TROOPER is unexposed as a sprinter and had a bit up his sleeve when scoring at Yarmouth, so he gets the nod over Be Proud, who has mounted a revival lately. Asadjumeirah produced a big effort at York recently, so he's likely to be involved if he turns up in the same mood.

Recent Doncaster one-two BE PROUD and Impeller may be the pair to focus on and the selection can confirm his superiority.

16:52 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This looks a contest in which BARI BREEZE could plausibly throw up some value with the Milton Harris yard currently running hot. The eight-year-old hasn't been sighted since November, but his only previous win came after a lengthy break and the return to the smaller obstacles appears to be a sensible move. Minella Youngy has the back form to enter the equation if recent wind surgery has had the desired effect, whilst Black Lightning has been knocking on the door on his most recent efforts, all of them coming at this track, and should again be involved.

In a contest where very few arrive with compelling claims a chance is taken on the returning BARI BREEZE, who wasn't in much form over fences when last seen in November but is on a good mark if sparking back to life returned to hurdles after a break. The unexposed Rhodia could be sharper for her Cartmel reappearance and is second choice ahead of Black Lightning.

Marginal preference is for MINELLA YOUNGY in the hope that he can return to his recent placed form.

17:00 Galway Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MALBAY MADNESS just failed to peg back Lan Cinnte over C&D on Wednesday and may go one better with the Emmet Mullins yard in good form. The selection, who landed a gamble in a Killarney nursery for Eddie Linehan, may benefit from the application of a hood. There is little to choose between Quantum Light and La Tulipe Noire on running behind Rio Largo over seven furlongs on testing ground here on Monday. Quantum Light was having her first run since joining current connections from Ralph Beckett, while La Tulipe Noire won a Dundalk maiden over a mile last winter. Hasten Slowly has gained both wins on a sound surface including at Naas last time so the ground could be a worry.

MALBAY MADNESS was arguably unlucky not to win here on Wednesday and compensation awaits with Colin Keane taking over in the saddle. Quantum Leap made a positive start for her new stable here at the beginning of the week and is second choice ahead of Noel Meade's Naas winner Hasten Slowly.

A key race could be the 7f handicap here on Wednesday in which QUANTUM LIGHT (nap) finished just ahead of La Tulipe Noire.

17:15 Haydock Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THREE YORKSHIREMEN kept on well over shorter to win easily by over five lengths at Nottingham on Thursday and if he is fully recovered from those efforts, he may be able to shrug off his 6lb penalty while the going remains in his favour. Auld Toon Loon also arrives on the back of a clear-cut victory at Chester and he looks a serious danger off just 4lb higher, while the Easterby family have won both runnings of this contest, suggesting Ring Of Beara could surprise a few on his return to action.

AULD TOON LOON is progressive and had something in hand when winning at Chester 22 days ago, so he's marginally preferred to hat-trick seeker Derry Lad. Wind Your Neck In goes well in testing conditions, so he's also expected to feature.

Auld Toon Loon is not passed over easily but the improving DERRY LAD has followed a heavy-ground second with two wins.

It's difficult to know what One Colour actually achieved when winning a similar event at Southwell recently, but she had been unconvincing at Huntingdon previously and may be worth taking on at cramped odds under a penalty. Preference is for newcomer NO CAN SEE, who is a half-sister to the smart hurdler Mr Adjudicator, given Milton Harris' excellent form and impressive strike-rate in this sphere. Syd Hosie's Dontmesswithme looks the best of the remainder after two placed efforts at Newton Abbot.

NO CAN SEE is an appealing newcomer on paper and could be the way to go before market clues. One Colour won well at Southwell and has a good chance to follow up under a penalty.

Rae Guest's ONE COLOUR won nicely at Southwell with the front two clear and this well-bred filly can defy the penalty.

YOU OUGHTA KNOW easily won a bumper on debut at Kilbeggan this spring which was probably above-average for the venue. It is interesting to note that Patrick Mullins keeps faith with the son of Beat Hollow rather than partner Aurora Vega, a full-sister to Facile Vega, who also won in great style on her only start at Sligo in June. Lionnar had subsequent easy Tipperary winner Crooked Tannie well behind when fourth on debut at Killarney before beating Beauforts Storm (won since) at the Curragh, with Mont Beuvray about six lengths back in third. Chef D'etat has won both his starts at Tramore and Worcester, while Shark Hanlon is also represented by Fort Randall who has shown promise on both starts.

Willie Mullins saddled the winner of this last year and fields promising duo YOU OUGHTA KNOW and Aurora Vega this time round. Both were impressive on their respective debuts and while it's not easy choosing between them, You Oughta Know scored in particularly good style on his introduction and appears to be the stable first-string judged on jockey bookings. Crooked Tannie and Lionnar can do battle for minor honours.

Willie Mullins dominated this last year and it could be a similar story with YOU OUGHTA KNOW preferred to Aurora Vega

Paladin may prove popular here for Charlie Johnston after winning over C&D last month, but he was all out to get back up after being passed that day and this looks tougher. NELLIE LEYLAX has encountered soft ground twice in his four starts, winning both of them and the latest by over three lengths in a class 2 novice at Doncaster 15 days ago. He has top-weight here but deservedly so, and there may be more to come, while Beyond Borders and Watcha Matey could fight it out for third.

NELLIE LEYLAX made it 2 wins from 4 starts when making all at Doncaster last time, confirming his effectiveness on soft ground, and he can continue his progress to make a successful handicap debut. Paladin opened his account at this C&D on his latest outing and is feared most, ahead of Watcha Matey.

Richard Fahey has enjoyed success with the the family of BRANDAISY, who looks a likely improver now up in trip on nursery debut.

LTO Selection:

18:15 Haydock Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Three-year-olds have won both runnings of this contest and that may continue here if C&D winner RAIMUNDA continues to progress. Heavy ground saw her get off the mark at the third attempt here last month by three lengths after being sent to the front two out, and a mark of 77 seems fair enough judged on that form. Nigiri is worth another try at this trip after winning over a furlong shorter here but she was given an added 7lb for that victory, so Iato's Angel looks the one for the forecast on her first start for new connections.

NIGIRI took a step forward when winning in good style on handicap debut at this course 16 days ago and, with further improvement to come, she can follow up returned to this longer trip. Raimunda also arrives on the back of an easy C&D success and isn't taken lightly now handicapping, while No Nay Nicki also merits consideration.

The 3yo NIGIRI looked a filly to follow when winning comfortably over 7f here last month and she can make it 2-2 in handicaps.

CINNODIN unlocked further potential when regaining the winning thread over a similar trip at Newbury last Thursday and Richard Hughes' gelding could make light work of a 4lb rise if in the same mood today. Nathanael Greene has posted some creditable efforts in defeat this season, particularly his fourth in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle in early July, and the four-year-old is feared most in these calmer waters. Geremia and Miss Cynthia are others to consider at this level.

CINNODIN is a 3-y-o heading firmly in the right direction and can make it 5-7 since switching to handicaps. This represents a drop in class for former course winner Nathanael Greene who is second choice ahead of Justus, who gets similar ground as when scoring by a wide margin at Doncaster in the spring.

It's a strong field but CINNODIN (nap)'s 2m win on soft last time confirmed his great strength in stamina. He makes plenty of appeal.
