LTO Selection:

13:40 Dundalk Maiden 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The 92-rated ASHWIYAA has been found an excellent opportunity to shed her maiden tag. Michael O'Callaghan's filly was somewhat unfortunate to bump into a couple of above-average juveniles in her first two starts, then acquitted herself well when third in a Group 2. With nothing of that calibre in this modest contest, it would be a surprise if she can't get her head in front. Smart Impression ran better than the bare form suggested on her racecourse debut at Naas, before finding herself drawn on the wrong side when stepped up into Group company at that same track. Making Time, who finished third on her introduction at Naas in May, was behind Smart Impression on her most recent start. Debutant Special Angel is worth a second look in the market given her connections' success with juveniles this season.

ASHWIYAA showed improved form when third in a Group 2 at the Curragh early last month and ought to be capable of winning a race of this nature on that showing. Making Time could get her career back on track now returning to calmer waters after a break, while Smart Impression isn't without hope either having shaped quite well on both her starts to date.

This should be straightforward for ASHWIYAA who held her own in a Group 2 Curragh event won by a smart filly from Ballydoyle

LTO Selection:

14:10 Dundalk Handicap 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HARRY'S BAR can enhance his fine record at this track by conceding weight to all. The Ado McGuinness-trained eight-year-old found everything happening a bit too quick over 5f here last time, but will be more at home at this distance. Cian MacRedmond claims a valuable 5lb off the Exceed And Excel gelding's welter burden. Tai Sing Yeh returned to something like his best when successful on turf at Naas so the five-time all-weather winner has to be a contender, despite the step up in grade. Queen Maedbh, a C&D maiden winner back in November, looks best of the three-year-old representatives. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly, who was just touched off by an improving sprinter at Fairyhouse last time, has more scope for improvement than most in this field.

TAI SING YEH comes here on the back of a career-best Naas success so this multiple C&D winner gets the verdict in a competitive handicap. Fellow C&D scorer Dandyville is feared most, although Mickey The Steel is weighted to have a big say too if on his A-game.

An unchanged mark of 91 following her Fairyhouse second gives QUEEN MAEDBH a possible edge over several useful older rivals

(4) Liberated Lad 8.5/1, Seventh of 9 in handicap (28/1) at Leicester (11.8f, soft) 13 days ago. Yet to click for present yard but starting to come down the weights (currently 2 lb above last winning mark) and would have a change granted a revival.

(3) Barney's Angel 3/1, 6/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, soft) 14 days ago. Knocking on the door prior to that, including when fourth of 9 over this C&D off 3 lb higher on penultimate start, and he's one for the shortlist.
Tailed off at Beverley, reaffirming that rain-softened ground is not what he wants.

Starfighter

14/1(-155%)
(1) Starfighter 14/1, Fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 4/1) when last seen in March. Mixed bag on turf but he figures on a workable mark and won't mind the drop in trip, so there's cause for optimism.

(9) Dark Gold 12/1, 15/2, last of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (14f) 29 days ago. So far failed to progress from 2 to 3 and for the switch to handicaps, as so many from this yard do.
Hasn't progressed as expected since handicapping back from wind surgery.
LTO Selection:

14:30 Nottingham Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A weak contest in which a tentative vote is given to STARFIGHTER, who could take advantage of a drop in distance following a fair fifth over 1m4f at Wolverhampton in March. He is now rated 2lb above his last winning mark, which came at this course in December, and he can get the better of Motarajel. Mac Ailey is another seeking to bounce back to form and he completes the shortlist.

None of these look especially solid but, save for his latest effort at Beverley, BARNEY'S ANGEL has proved to be consistent since venturing down the handicap route, making the frame all 5 starts prior to what was presumably a blip last time. The 4-y-o may well open his account at the tenth time of asking. Motarajel is an infrequent winner but is more likely than most to run his race and should be on the premises, while cases can also be made for Hotspur Harry and Starfighter.

Tim Easterby's MOTARAJEL doesn't find winning easy but he's consistent and looks a good bet to give his running.

LTO Selection:

14:40 Dundalk Maiden 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

NOT FORGOTTEN would be a warm order here had the Michael Halford and Tracey Collins-trained gelding not run on turf at Tipperary last time. The bare form of his previous start, when third over a mile at this track in April, looks particularly strong given subsequent events. Although nothing was found to explain that latest below-par run, the fact he has been off the track since May suggests that something may have been discovered. The John Joseph Murphy-trained Signatory, who was runner-up here in January, made a satisfactory reappearance at Killarney in May. He should be sharper now as a result of that run. Agia is another with solid placed form at this venue having finished third on debut last month. The Ger Lyons-trained filly is another with leading claims in a wide-open contest.

AGIA shaped encouragingly on her course debut last month and can get off the mark at the second time of asking with improvement on the cards. Not Forgotten was third on his previous visit here and is feared most ahead of Signatory.

Ger Lyons has a strong contender in AGIA who weakened into third in a 1m maiden here last month. Not Forgotten is a likely danger

LTO Selection:

14:50 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

EMBARKED got off the mark at Wolverhampton last month on his third start for James Fanshawe after a couple of promising efforts and a 4lb rise for that success may prove to be lenient, with Hollie Doyle taking over in the saddle. A winner on her last go at this distance and not beaten far over a mile at Kempton since, Purple Poppy looks to be the selection's main danger, along with Chepstow winner Dulcet Spirit.

EMBARKED was quite nicely on top at the finish at Wolverhampton last time and can make light of a 5 lb rise. Fellow last-time-out scorer Dulcet Spirit may give him most to do ahead of Musical Mystery, who has his first outing for a new yard here.

Game mare PURPLE POPPY holds solid claims on 2023 form. Embarked is feared most.

LTO Selection:

15:00 Nottingham Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CRYSTAL OF TIME makes her racecourse debut and the half-sister to German Group 1 winner Nations Pride is fancied to make a winning start. Her dam was a Listed winner and Charlie Appleby's filly can get the better of fellow debutant Rose Branch. High Sport is another seeking to get off the mark at the first time of asking and she must be considered too.

This is likely to go to a newcomer, and Godolphin's CRYSTAL OF TIME stands out on pedigree. Rose Branch, a daughter of Kingman, and High Sport, who cost 6 figures as a yearling, can chase the selection home in that order.

High Sport is bred to go a bit but is a late foal and CRYSTAL OF TIME is taken to make a winning start.

LTO Selection:

15:10 Dundalk Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The O'Brien family hold the key to this maiden and NOR TIME NOR TIDE is taken to score after a pleasing debut at Killarney. Joseph O'Brien's colt chased home a previous maiden winner who went on to be runner-up in Listed company last week, and he is the only one of these who has been entered in a Group race. Huxley steps up to a mile for the first time after finishing fourth to exciting prospect City Of Troy at the Curragh. On pedigree, he should appreciate the longer trip and is likely to be fighting out the finish. Ballydoyle's newcomer Capulet is bred in the purple and is a half-brother to a juvenile maiden winner over 7f. He missed an engagement at Newmarket last month so may be fairly forward and his trainer won this with a classy sort last year.

A mixed bag and not hard to rule out almost half the field. NOR TIME NOR TIDE showed more than enough on debut to suggest he'll win one of these, and this looks a good opportunity, unless newcomer Capulet proves to be something out of the ordinary. Huxley likely remains with improvement in him and can make it a 1-2-3 for the O'Briens.

Group 2 entrant NOR TIME NOR TIDE chased home a smart sort at Killarney and can get the better of Huxley and newcomer Huxley

This can go the way of HOT FRONT, who has shown more than enough in three career outings to suggest that she can get off the mark on this occasion. Not beaten far at Windsor last time out, the daughter of Soldier's Call is preferred to the likes of Alnoory Star, who could be well suited by dropping back in trip. and debut winner Princess Chizara.

HOT FRONT got back on track behind a couple of colts at Windsor last time and is taken to open her account. Princess Chizara and Leaves of Grass rate the principal dangers.

Marginal preference is for HOT FRONT, ahead of Princess Chizara.

15:30 Nottingham Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Only narrowly denied over 7f on her most recent run, racecourse experience seemed to benefit LIBERTY on that occasion and Jane Chapple-Hyam's filly looks the one to beat. She must hold every chance of progressing upped in distance, while the improving Ayyab also enters calculations following a decent third at Newmarket in June. King Lear's dam was a dual Group 1 winner and he should not be taken lightly either.

KING LEAR is bred to be the part and shaped with plenty of promise amidst inexperience in what looked a hot novice at Newmarket on last month's debut, so he's the percentage call to build on that and get off the mark at the second attempt. Motriff is another well-bred sort who seems sure to improve on his opening effort at Chelmsford, while Liberty and Ayyab are others capable of getting involved.

King Lear is feared most but MOTRIFF was the only one to make any inroads from off the pace at Chelmsford. That was promising.

15:40 Dundalk Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

He is drawn wider than ideal, but NUMIDIA comes here in good form and can gain a second C&D victory. A winner here in February, Peter Lawlor's gelding was an unlucky fourth at Leopardstown in June before finding only one too good off this mark here last month. There was only half a length between Lasting Peace and Queen Mab when they were placed at Bellewstown. Both are lightly-raced three-year-olds with scope for improvement, although neither has run on the all-weather to date. Punk Poet is a three-time C&D winner who has come down a lot in the ratings. He showed more at Bellewstown two starts back and should be competitive in this grade.

Preference is for LASTING PEACE, who posted his best effort yet in first-time blinkers (retained here) when runner-up at Bellewstown last month. The booking of Colin Keane adds to his appeal and he should go close off the same mark here, provided he is able to build on that now switched to this surface. Boadicea Belle is equipped with blinkers for the first time herself and looks dangerous having returned to form when third over C&D last time. Numidia and Punk Poet are others to consider.

He's drawn wider than ideal but NUMIDIA come here in good form and can gain a second C&D success

LTO Selection:

15:50 Lingfield Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The William Haggas stable can do little wrong at present and DESERT VOICE looks just the type to bounce back from a disappointing effort at Newmarket last month. Returning to better ground is major plus this time around, and the daughter of Invincible Spirit may have too much for the hat-trick-seeking Desert Falcon, as well as the largely unexposed Resolute Man. Nogo's Dream and Restrict cannot be ruled out either.

An interesting 3-y-o handicap. DESERT FALCON should have more to come and can complete the hat-trick but there are a few dangers, headed by Desert Voice and Restrict.

Prescott improvers often run up a sequence and therefore it's worth sticking with DESERT FALCON (nap). Restrict is feared most.

Both Mothill (third) and Quantum Leap (winner) made a hash of the start when they clashed at Haydock last month and, while they are both open to improvement, the revised terms give the former a chance of turning that form around. However, there is no escaping the fact that GOLDEN SHOT has done nothing but flourish since Sir Mark Prescott stepped him up in trip and, on the back of 27-length success at Ffos Las, he is too progressive to oppose.

Plenty with chances but it's impossible to side against GOLDEN SHOT who still looks ahead of his mark under a 5 lb penalty for his wide-margin Ffos Las victory and also remains unexposed over staying trips. Both Alnilam and Quantum Leap have better days ahead of them too and can chase home Sir Mark Prescott's upwardly-mobile stayer in that order. Campaign Trail completes the shortlist.

The penalised Golden Shot will take some beating but QUANTUM LEAP appeals as a horse with a decent future ahead of him.

LTO Selection:

16:10 Dundalk Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ALFARIDA, a winner over 7f at Roscommon in June, has finished runner-up on three occasions at Dundalk. She was caught on the line when beaten just a nose over this trip here last month and can go one better off a 2lb higher mark. Fleetfootsoldier has recorded two wins and a second from five starts in handicaps and was a C&D winner in March. He's 7lb higher now but is open to more improvement. The Bog Bank put in a below-par display at Gowran but is generally a very consistent performer. She registered her second C&D victory last month and regular rider James Ryan, partnering her for the 40th time, usually gets a good tune out of her.

Lots with chances. TYNAMITE has a superb course record and also rates the pick of these weights on the back of his excellent Killarney third so is taken to edge out Alfarida who just missed out over C&D last month. Morning Approach is another with winning form at the track who commands lots of respect.

Plenty with chances but ALFARIDA was beaten by the narrowest of margins here last month and can go one better

Denied by the narrowest of margins over a mile at Newmarket last month, this represents a good opportunity for ELNAJMM to break his maiden tag. The fact that William Haggas' inmate has filled the runner-up spot on all three career starts suggests he can be firmly in the picture here and he is taken to get the better of Quietness, who finished a decent second over C&D on her racecourse bow in May. Liseo is another to bear in mind.

This looks good for ELNAJMM, who has hit the crossbar in both starts this season and remains with potential. Quietness gets the nod for the forecast.

Triple silver medallist ELNAJMM is top on bare figures and taken to go one better. Quietness is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This could be a useful reference point for the future as the likes of Northern Spirit, Mountain Warrior and Pinafore are all progressive three-year-olds with lots to offer as they gain further experience. However, SPIRIT OF APPLAUSE appeals most for an immediate return, as he takes a significant drop in class after a respectable fifth-placed finish in a more valuable handicap at Newmarket last month.

NORTHERN SPIRT has had the form of his latest Yarmouth second boosted and can show he's still on a good mark. Mountain Warrior had testing ground as an excuse for his poor run last time and can bounce back and provide the chief threat ahead of Pinafore.

Brian Ellison's NORTHERN SPIRIT (nap) has to be of strong interest after finishing second to a sharp improver at Yarmouth.

16:40 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GOLDEN TWILIGHT landed this feature race 12 months ago and subsequently struck for the fourth time at this venue when holding off stablemate Ceallach last autumn. The selection has been consistent in top handicap company this year and should be suited by this drop back in trip. Higher Kingdom and Jungle Cove are closely matched on running behind Alanya in the 1m2f Ladies Derby at the Curragh last month. Save Your Love gained compensation for an unlucky run at the Curragh when scoring at Leopardstown, while C&D winner Burren Song ran too badly to be true in the valuable amateur riders' handicap at Galway.

The suggestion is GOLDEN TWILIGHT who has been successful on his last 4 visits here and arrives on the back of a good third at the Curragh last month. John McConnell's Higher Kingdom is another with a good record here and is second choice ahead of last month's Leopardstown scorer Save Your Love.

Michael Halford runs two and, although Ronan Whelan is on Ceallach, last year's winner GOLDEN TWILIGHT makes plenty of appeal

LTO Selection:

16:55 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Quoteline Direct has been knocking on the door of late and the fact Aiden Brookes knocks 5lb off his back here makes him of additional interest, but CALCUTTA DREAM gets the vote. He did well to finish second over this distance at Yarmouth last month and, although he loses Adam Farragher's 3lb claim, must enter calculations if getting away on level terms here. Billaki Mou completes the shortlist.

A repeat of the form CALCUTTA DREAM showed when second at Yarmouth last time might be enough to see him go one better this time. Fellow northern raider Quoteline Direct can fill the forecast spot ahead of George Baker's Billaki Mou.

Off a workable mark and with Hollie Doyle on board, LISDARRAGH may be the answer. Billaki Mou is second choice.

17:05 Nottingham Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HARRY WITH STYLE still has plenty of scope to develop as a sprinter and, as he appears to be thriving on being kept busy since he won at Yarmouth last month, this slight ease in grade seems have come at the right time for John Ryan's three-year-old. Bang On The Bell and Unlimited Data are feared most, while Triple Jaye has something to find with the selection but can still go well in this company.

BUDDY'S BEAUTY showed a big chunk of improvement when scoring at Leicester last time and remains low mileage. She can complete the hat-trick. Snow Berry and Harry With Style can also make their presence felt.

Buddy's Beauty is improving but soft ground would ask questions. HARRY WITH STYLE is one alternative in his current vein of form.

17:15 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BRIGHT N SHINE has gone close on his latest two outings and has scope for further improvement, with this drop in trip likely to suit. He was caught close home over 1m3f at Killarney before finding 1m5f just too far at Down Royal, and the booking of Colin Keane adds to confidence. Shining Aitch has shown promise over similar trips this summer and is another to consider along with the Luke Comer-trained pair Dark Street and Nevada Brave, who both won over C&D last winter. French Company has won twice at this venue and returns to the Polytrack after a promising run on turf when third to Belgoprince at Tipperary.

Preference is for KARTAYAZ, who returned to form at Hamilton last time and is only 2 lb above his last winning mark. Bright N Shine and French Company can also make their presence felt.

Colin Keane is a significant booking for BRIGHT N SHINE whose last two outings on turf provide grounds for thinking he can win a race

Recent C&D winner Her Way is feared most off just 4lb higher, although Jewel Maker also tends to go well here and commands respect with his yard in flying form.

WESTERN BEAT arrives on the back of two solid efforts, so she's taken to notch a second win over C&D. Dougies Dream was possibly unsuited by a return to softer ground at Doncaster last time and is better judged on his previous form, with 7-time course winner Great Colaci completing the shortlist.

In an open race GREAT COLACI is taken to win his eighth race on the course by reversing recent C&D form with Her Way.

17:30 Lingfield Stakes (Class 6) 13f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Runner-up on his last three starts, ICONIC MOVER deserves a change in luck and this looks like an ideal opportunity to finally get off the mark at the 16th time of asking. The step up in trip is a major plus, and the five-year-old is narrowly preferred to All About Alice, who has been finding her way since joining new connections, and the capable Manyana.

ALL ABOUT ALICE was back on form at the second time of asking for new trainer Dylan Cunha when fifth in a Leicester handicap last time and might prove the answer to this concluding classified stakes. Iconic Mover, Manyana and Asense are others to consider.

The main contenders on recent form are still maidens after numerous attempts. Tentative preference is for ICONIC MOVER.

LTO Selection:

17:40 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This represents a considerable drop in grade for FAKHAMA and the daughter of Kingman is fancied to build on a fair fourth in Listed company at York in May. William Haggas' filly kept on well to win over 7f on her debut at Newbury and, with improvement forthcoming, she can get the better of Shining Jewel. Hard Act To Follow is another to consider in the hands of Oisin Murphy.

FAKHAMA drops back down in grade after a York listed race fourth and is the clear form pick to defy a penalty for her Newbury debut success. Shining Jewel didn't confirm debut promise at the first time of asking, but has been given a break and she should still progress, so looks next best in a race lacking depth.

This can go to FAKHAMA who was thought good enough to tackle Listed company last time and wasn't disgraced.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

IRON SHERIFF is versatile regarding the racing surface and, having maintained his progression when landing a similar type of event at Pontefract in June, this previous C&D winner rates as a live contender, despite shouldering 6lb more. Hildegard is also considered, as she is unexposed and has made notable improvement with cheekpieces applied in her last two starts, while Valstar and Coconut Bay are others that can go well too.

On the back of improved placed efforts at Kempton and Wolverhampton, HILDEGARD is taken to deservedly open her account now faced with a stiffer test. Indeed, she shapes as though this new trip is well worth exploring and is marginally preferred to Broctune Red, who was third to a progressive filly over C&D and should give another good account off this 1 lb lower mark. The in-form Iron Sheriff and handicap debutant Mass Consumption both need considering, too.

The vote goes to the unexposed MASS CONSUMPTION who is making his handicap debut over the longest distance he has tried so far.

18:15 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A comfortable winner over 7f at this track last week, THOMAS EQUINAS is the one to beat stepping up in distance. He has to shoulder a 5lb penalty for that success, but did score with a bit up his sleeve and looks capable of going in again. Wallaroo posted a game win at Wolverhampton last month and is feared most off 3lb higher, while Chagall completes the shortlist.

THOMAS EQUINAS won in emphatic style here last week and looks well-in under his 5 lb penalty. He can follow up. Monaadhil and Chagall look the likeliest dangers.

Thomas Equinas beat MONAADHIL over 7f here last time, but the latter is taken to reverse the placings over this longer trip.

18:30 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SEA THE DREAM was only headed late on when he tried to make all at Haydock last month, but impressed with his attitude when under pressure near the finish. That experience should have taught him plenty and he gets the vote to shed the maiden tag at the third time of asking. Star Runner is entitled to improve on his debut third at Kempton, while Golden West debuts for a yard that has enjoyed a good spell with their juveniles and the son of Masar is another notable contender.

It will look significant if there's market confidence behind newcomer GOLDEN WEST, who represents a leading 2-y-o yard and an entry in the Champagne Stakes suggests that he has been showing the right signs at home. He will need to be pretty decent to make a winning debut, given the level of ability that Galactic Charm and Sea The Dream have shown in two starts apiece.

Preference is for STAR RUNNER whose debut effort received a boost at Glorious Goodwood. Galactic Charm is second choice.

18:45 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Only narrowly denied over this distance at Lingfield on his penultimate outing, RETURN TO DUBAI must hold every chance on the back of a fair run for fifth at Newmarket in June. Gelded since, the son of Ribchester remains unexposed and can take advantage of the switch to an artificial surface. He gets the vote ahead of the class and distance-dropping Wonder Legend, who finished in mid-division in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot. Diamond Ranger is another to bear in mind.

IMPERIAL ACE is enjoying a good season but still features on an attractive mark so is fancied to bag a third success with this return to 10f also a plus on his polytrack debut. Howth wasn't seen to best effect at Haydock last time and could emerge as the chief threat now he is easing in the weights. Diamond Ranger, Paris Lights and Return To Dubai all need factoring into an open handicap too.

The vote goes to dual C&D winner GREATGADIAN who returns to the AW off an inviting mark.

19:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The hat-trick seeking Making Dreams has done little wrong of late, but a 6lb penalty for his latest success, combined with the burden of top-weight, could see his losing run come to an end. Therefore, a tentative vote goes to the unexposed ROSENZOO, who finished a distant fourth at Newmarket on his latest outing. He makes both his nursery and Tapeta debut here and could be worth taking a chance on off an opening mark of 69. Mart is another to note in a first-time visor.

CLASSY CLARETS left the impression he'd have more to offer in nurseries at York last month and is taken to open his account. The hat-trick seeking Making Dreams is feared most, whilst Mart also enters calculations.

This can go to handicap debutant ROSENZOO who shaped with plenty of promise when fourth at Epsom two runs back.

19:15 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With two wins from three starts over 1m2f, this trip has brought the best out of MAYFAIR GOLD so far and, having responded kindly when tried in a hood over C&D last time out, she has a live chance with the headgear retained. Bath maiden winner Moonspirit and the lightly-raced Silver Nightfall both have scope to improve now they step up in trip.

George Boughey's MOONSPIRIT had a bit left in the tank when getting off the mark at Bath last month and appeals as the sort to keep improving now going into handicaps so she gets the vote. Mayfair Gold must enter calculations on the back of her good recent C&D second, while both Hey Lyla and Silver Nightfall are weighted to have a say too in this open-looking handicap.

This can go to MAYFAIR GOLD (nap) whose record over C&D reads 212. Her latest second could hardly be working out better.

In not the strongest of contests, preference lies with REFLEX, who finished a decent second, despite missing the break, over an extended mile at Wolverhampton last month. He is rated 1lb higher for the aforementioned run and is expected to build on that if getting away on level terms. Indication Rocket seemed to appreciate a return to the Flat most recently and is feared most dropping in distance, while Pop Favorite heads the remainder.

Preference is for REFLEX, who upped his game when second at Wolverhampton last month and still has few miles on the clock. Indication Rocket and El Jad rate the principal dangers.

The unexposed REFLEX (nap), who showed improved form in a first-time visor on his AW debut, is preferred to Indication Rocket.

19:45 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There is a strong chance One For The Ladies can shine now she drops into a classified stakes for her first visit to this circuit. The five-year-old is already a dual winner on the all-weather and should handle this surface. However, GYPSY NATION is unexposed as a sprinter and, based on an a solid effort over C&D last week, he could be a bit of value against the mare. Cappananty Con is also considered.

A trappy classified event in which it could be worth siding with THE WAITING GAME to gain her maiden win now she has the services of Oisin Murphy and drops to 6f for the first time which should suit. Cappananty Con wasn't seen to best effect when eighth at Wolverhampton last time out so this C&D winner is next on the list ahead of One For The Ladies.

Preference is for the veteran STORM MELODY who drops to this level for the first time on his 97th outing.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LITTLE TED took a big step forward when scoring over C&D on his most recent run and Tim Easterby's charge is fancied to follow up, despite a 5lb raised mark. However, Urban Road should not be taken lightly having also recorded a comfortable win over C&D at the same meeting and he can give the selection plenty to think about off 6lb higher. The unexposed Port Erin completes the shortlist on his handicap debut.

Though winless following a dozen attempts, DUKE OF WYBOURNE went close off an 11 lb higher mark over C&D on his latest visit here in April. He has largely struggled since but took a step back in the right direction when third in first-time cheekpieces at Thirsk recently and perhaps the more severe headgear he sports here will help eke out a bit more. Urban Road did the job well over C&D last time and is feared most ahead of Absolute Dream, who looks dangerous now dropping to 0-60 company.

Port Erin is intriguing on his handicap debut but LITTLE TED was a convincing winner of his first C&D attempt and is preferred.

LTO Selection:

20:15 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Cuban Grey is noted after several consistent efforts, but he is burdened with giving weight away all round and a wide draw does him no favours. Similar comments apply to recent Wolverhampton winner Speed Dial Baileys, who could have been better positioned than stall eight to cope with a 5lb higher mark. With all that in mind, a chance is taken on DARLO PRIDE, who is still unexposed and appeals given the form of his latest start has worked out reasonably well.

PROFITABLE DAWN is still to register a victory but she caught the eye when an unlucky-in-running sixth at Yarmouth last time so is worth siding with off a 2 lb lower mark. Autumnal Breeze is feared most on the back of her good recent Ayr second, with Wolverhampton scorer Speed Dial Baileys also well in the mix.

Autumnal Breeze is respected but SPEED DIAL BAILEYS looked to have AW potential when winning at Wolverhampton and is preferred.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NORTHBOUND has been in consistent form this season and recent efforts on turf would suggest that another win may be just around the corner, especially over a C&D which he was successful over this time last year. Denied by the narrowest of margins at Wolverhampton, Bold Territories must be thereabouts again, along with Hezahunk for his in-form connections. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Guest List, Muddy Lynn and Rockin Rosa.

BOLD TERRITORIES signalled that his turn is very near when just touched off at Wolverhampton 11 days ago and, granted a positive response to the first-time visor, he may well confirm that impression by emerging on top here. He may have most to fear from Rockin Rosa, who will surely shed her maiden tag sooner rather than later judged on her recent near-miss over C&D in first-time cheekpieces (retained). Hezahunk and Northbound are others with appealing claims.

Preference is for C&D winner NORTHBOUND who only found one too good on turf last time and races off the same mark.

LTO Selection:

21:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Turned out again quickly after getting up late at Ayr on Saturday, WEE FAT MAC is aiming to strike while the iron is hot under a 5lb penalty. The fact he has won here twice is another major plus and Iain Jardine's charge may have too much for comfortable Wolverhampton scorer Yaahobby. Golden Rainbow is beginning to get the hang of things for his new connections, while Rainbow Rain is arriving on the back of a taking success at Thirsk.

The one who appeals most is RAINBOW RAIN, who returned to form when getting the better of dual subsequent winner Quercus at Thirsk and, all things considered, a 4 lb rise looks fair. It's no great concern that he failed to fire both previous attempts on the all-weather, as he has evidently improved since. Fellow last-time-out winner Yaahobby and Golden Rainbow rate the main dangers, though Jarvis is also considered off a potentially handy mark and Ben Macdui is another with possibilities.

The unexposed DALTON LANE ran really well over C&D on his debut and is taken to get off the mark on his handicap debut.
