LTO Selection:

13:35 Navan Maiden 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

YOSEMITE VALLEY returns from over a year out and, as a Group 3 runner-up, he should prove hard to beat. An eyecatching fourth on debut, with a whole host of subsequent winners in behind, he proved no match for Little Big Bear on his only other start in the Anglesey Stakes. An expensive yearling purchase, Pop Star is the danger. Second over the course and distance when last seen just over a year ago, the Sioux Nation colt is fitted with blinkers for the first time now. Keke came in for plenty of market support on debut at the Curragh recently and while he finished eighth, he had a far from smooth passage. With that experience under his belt, the Eddie Lynam-trained bay should be able to make an impact here.

YOSEMITE VALLEY hasn't been seen since finishing runner-up to Little Big Bear in the Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh 13 months ago and if anywhere near that level on return, Donnacha O'Brien's colt is likely to take some stopping. He can get the better of Pop Star, who took a step forward from his debut but is also returning from a lengthy absence. Rathbranchurch and the once-raced Keke can do battle for third spot.

This stiff track may help last year's Anglesey Stakes second YOSEMITE VALLEY see off a likely challenge by Pop Star

LTO Selection:

14:05 Navan Handicap 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

It might be worth taking a chance on VERACIDAD in this open contest. With Wayne Hassett claiming 7lb, the Ken Condon-trained selection will carry a featherweight and is fitted with a visor for the first time. Third on her most recent start at Sligo after being hampered over a furlong out, it'll come as no surprise if she manages to go a few places better now. Top-weight Mr Saturday is given second preference. While he disappointed on his most recent start at the Curragh, he makes his debut in handicap company now and with Jack Kearney claiming a valuable 7lb, he should go close. Si Senior is the only winner in the line-up and she'll be well fancied to follow up on her recent Sligo success, while Sanshiro is another capable of making his presence felt.

Though he went out like a light at the Curragh recently, MR SATURDAY shaped well when runner-up on his first two starts and is well worth another chance now moving into nursery company. Veracidad is next on the list, though Glamorously needs a second look and Sanshiro is also worthy of consideration.

Preference is for SI SENIOR, winner of a Sligo maiden which is working out well with probably more improvement to come

LTO Selection:

14:25 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Emperor's Star rates highly after a couple of respectable performances and needs taking seriously. However, his costly Sandown defeat has taken a few subsequent knocks and he might be worth taking on with fellow Royal Lodge entrant ANNAFEL, who is from the family of a Dubai World Cup winner in Well Armed. The Gosdens' newcomer cost 220,000gns and is bred to be effective on synthetics so can make an immediate impact. Desert Rhapsody is another notable debutant.

A fair bit of potential on show and the market should reveal plenty but Charlie Appleby's EMPEROR'S STAR is worth siding with to bounce back from an odds-on reverse in the mud at Sandown and belatedly confirm the promise of his debut Newmarket second. Run Boy Run is feared most on the back of his own encouraging initial Newmarket second, although newcomers Annafel and Desert Rhapsody could have a say too.

Emperor's Star is greatly respected but NUKANAN is taken to build on the considerable promise of his Salisbury debut.

14:30 Bath Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

THIS ONES FOR FRED battled on gamely at Catterick to record his second success in as many starts and David Evans' in-form five-year-old can land the hat-trick from just 1lb higher. Black Smoke, who won on soft ground at Lingfield last time, ought to be thereabouts if handling forecast conditions. Hot Team continues to run well in defeat and is considered along with Charlie Arthur, who is edging back towards the winner's enclosure.

The vote goes to CHARLIE ARTHUR, who produced his best effort of the season so far when hitting the crossbar at Windsor recently and he remains 1 lb below his last winning mark. If Black Smoke is able to back up his heavy-ground Lingfield success under contrasting conditions here he will be a threat, while the hat-trick seeking This Ones For Fred, Princess T and Uther Pendragon all make some appeal in this open-looking affair. Hot Team has been in good form of late but appears to be best at 1¼m.

Having given easily his most competitive display to win on his British debut, BLACK SMOKE may be able to find more improvement.

14:35 Navan Maiden 5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The Ger Lyons-trained TOURIST gets the nod over Vanity Pays. Out of dual Group 3 winner Ainippe, who Lyons also trained, the bay selection has filled the runner-up spot on his two starts to date. Beaten by high-class individuals on both occasions, he should have an easier time of things now. The 85-rated Vanity Pays has some solid efforts to her name and certainly wouldn't be winning out of turn. Getting a weight allowance and with Jamie Powell claiming 5lb, she will carry nearly a stone less than the selection. A solid fifth on debut, Emerald Banner should come on plenty for that effort and looks capable of making her presence felt. Newcomer Francis Meynell is closely related to a whole host of winners and is the most interesting of the remainder.

TOURIST has shaped well when runner-up on both his starts, most recently at Naas, and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to go one better now. Vanity Pays also has some fairly useful form to her name and appeals as the one to chase home Ger Lyons' Zoustar colt ahead of Naas fifth Emerald Banner and newcomer Francis Meynell.

The selection is TOURIST, runner-up to two useful Ballydoyle colts in the Spring and well capable of winning a maiden of this standard

Beverley winner in June but didn't fire last time and would appeal more on slow ground.
LTO Selection:

14:45 Carlisle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TURBO COMMAND finished a respectable third when appearing to go for home too soon at Ayr a fortnight ago and the six-year-old may regain the winning thread if delaying his challenge in this contest. Bulls Aye drops into 0-60 company and better is expected from Iain Jardine's charge now returned to the scene of his last victory. The Intello gelding may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Retirement Beckons, who also has the form to get involved.

PRECEDENT may have found the return to 1¼m catching him out when disappointing on his latest start at Beverley in July but he'd previously shaped well when runner-up to a progressive sort at Hamilton and he could be worth chancing. Shahnaz would be a danger to all if bouncing back from her much-reduced mark. Turbo Command is also considered.

This return to good ground may prompt a revival from SHAHNAZ, who won off an 11lb higher mark over C&D last summer.

LTO Selection:

14:55 Chelmsford Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

As those with previous experience need to improve, well-bred newcomers Dire La Verite, a brother to a middle-distance winner in France, and RAQEEBB, whose dam is an unraced sister to a French Group 3-winning miler, appeal most on paper. The latter is preferred as he debuts for a yard that has hit a sweet spot over the last fortnight. Lohengrin can progress upped in trip, and the same can be said for Velvet Crush.

VELVET CRUSH did very well to get a place considering she completely missed the break at Kempton on debut and, with significant improvement anticipated, she gets the nod over Raqeebb, who is the clear pick of the newcomers. Lohengrin also has potential.

It may be worth siding with the nicely bred debutant RAQEEBB whose stable won this with a newcomer last year.

LTO Selection:

15:05 Navan Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

One of two newcomers in the line-up, ADMIRAL MAE won't have to be a star to take this. Out of a half-sister to seven-time winner Landofhopeandglory, who won over a mile on debut, he is in for the maximum claiming price of 30,000 euros. Joseph O'Brien trains the selection and is also represented by Answer Me Nay. The Ten Sovereigns bay has two solid efforts to her name and it'll be interesting to see how she fares going out in trip. Second on debut at Roscommon in May, Courageous Strike takes a significant drop in class after finishing last of five in the Futurity Stakes. The chestnut colt is given second preference and it'll be disappointing if he is not involved towards the business end. Tartaraghan flopped on soft ground at Gowran last month and a much improved performance can be expected from her now, while Nika Pika, Guest Star (first-time blinkers) and Not Far To Fall are others who warrant respect.

ADMIRAL MAE makes some appeal on pedigree and represents a top stable, so he's worth a chance to make a winning start in first-time blinkers in a race where the bar isn't set very high by those with experience. A return to form from either Courageous Strike or Tartaraghan would put them in the mix.

This is a huge drop in class for COURAGEOUS STRIKE and he may be able to take advantage. Blinkered newcomer Admiral Mae may feature

15:15 Carlisle Stakes (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

It is hard to oppose ALASKAN GOLD, who has made the frame in both previous starts and the strength of his form suggests that the son of Kodiac is more than capable of getting off the mark here. Welcome Dream is likely to pose the biggest threat to the selection, although Empire Of Light and Go Big Or Go Home should not be discounted.

ALASKAN GOLD improved on his debut form when finishing a good third in a Goodwood maiden (6f) 4 weeks ago and, back in calmer waters, he looks the one to beat. Welcome Dream has showed promise himself in 2 starts to date and is feared, with the very well related Go Big Or Go Home and Empire of Light completing the shortlist.

The Karl Burke-trained ALASKAN GOLD has finished third in hot races on his first two starts and is taken to get off the mark.

15:25 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Brian Ellison fields a a couple with solid chances and while Ramiro has already enjoyed some success this campaign, the in-form NORTHERN SPIRIT could be the trainer's best hope. The three-year-old is two from six on the all-weather so far and, assuming he handles the switch to Polytrack, he has a lot going for him, despite creeping up the handicap. Zaman Jemil and Knebworth are also considered.

LULWORTH COVE is well treated and left the impression that a return to form may be imminent when sixth (met trouble) at Windsor a fortnight ago, so she's worth chancing despite a wide draw. Recent Wolverhampton winner Hello Me is an obvious danger and Northern Spirit merits respect.

It may be worth giving BEAR PROFIT another chance. He likes it here (record 1134) and has dropped 6lb lower than when last successful.

LTO Selection:

15:35 Navan Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PERFECT POISE is drawn wide and faces seasoned campaigners, but met trouble on her handicap debut. By Kodiac and out of a Listed winner, she was drawn similarly wide in 18 at Leopardstown when meeting significant traffic and having been beaten just six lengths (with reserve Might And Mercy finishing sixth and Toriangel 11th), can win from her rating. Punk Poet is drawn wider in 20 but is ideally suited by a mile. He has been hit with a 14lb rise for winning at Dundalk but was rated 87 just last year. Is That Love has hopped from yard to yard having run in consecutive recent claimers, but faces a tougher test. Eastern Wind is ground-versatile and in form, while Royal Pippen would prefer easy ground and was well held at Ayr. Five-time winner Imposing Supreme is able at this level, Exquisite Acclaim's rating has fallen, and Signora Bellissima runs in first-time blinkers.

Lots with chances but EASTERN WIND looks the way to go eased 1 lb on the back of his good Leopardstown third last time out. Handicap debutante Miss McHenry appeals as a likely improver so merits plenty of respect along with Dundalk scorer Punk Poet.

There could be more to come from ROCHESTER MIKE(nap), yet to fire this season but gelded since his last run and with cheekpieces tried

LTO Selection:

15:45 Carlisle Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CANARIA QUEEN has improved with every start to date and she was last seen finishing a head second at Leicester last month. Tim Easterby's filly may have more progression left to come and a mark of 66 could underestimate her on handicap debut. Glorious Angel has to be respected now eased significantly in grade, while William Dewhirst edges out Rock Of England to be best of the rest.

THANKUAPPRECIATE needs to cut out the slow starts but he appeals as being on a workable mark on the pick of this season's form and, having eased further in the weights, he could be worth siding with to make a winning debut for the Declan Carroll yard. Rock of England is going through a good spell and is feared most, with Secret Guest also expected to feature.

The consistent THANKUAPPRECIATE earns the vote on his first run for Declan Carroll, while Rock Of England is feared most.

LTO Selection:

15:55 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Under Curfew was beaten just a neck into second at Chepstow last week and arrives 3lb well-in. The seven-year-old, who has been running consistently well of late, is likely to be competitive once again. Universal Grace (second) and Profitable Dawn (third) were closely matched here earlier in the month and command respect, but a chance is taken with LAERTES. He has joined Mick Appleby since his latest start, when making the frame at Wolverhampton, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him improve.

This looks wide open but LAERTES is taken to make a winning start for Mick Appleby having slipped in the weights and gain his breakthrough success, with Oisin Murphy in the saddle for the first time. Under Curfew is handily weighted and rates a big threat with recent Lingfield scorer Boom the Groom also highly respected along with C&D second Universal Grace.

The veteran BOOM THE GROOM can record career win number 12. He has the necessary early pace to make full use of the inside stall.

16:05 Navan Handicap 14f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KERMIYA should be suited by this staying distance and runs in her first handicap. Aga Khan-bred, she contested a hot maiden on debut and while disappointing in June, ran nicely to the line at Killarney, suggesting she is progressive. Alluring was a length and a half behind the selection and has a similar profile. She, too, is well bred, ran nicely at Killarney and is also likely to be suited by this distance on handicap debut. Galileo-sired Navy Beach has the pedigree to nuke his 59-rating but was disappointing in a first-time tongue-tie at Galway. He has caught the eye on occasions and it is very notable he almost doubles in distance today. Navajo River won an ordinary Roscommon maiden at 200/1 and races on drier ground. Glyde Ranger, by a sprinting sire, won well over a similar distance at Sligo but would prefer soft ground.

There didn't look to be any fluke about NAVAJO RIVER's shock maiden win last week and an opening mark of 70 could prove lenient. Kermiya and Alluring appeal as possible improvers in handicaps and head the dangers along with Sligo scorer Glyde Ranger.

The Aga Khan's KERMIYA has run in good maidens and may be better suited by this trip than Alluring, 1 1/2l behind her at Killarney

LTO Selection:

16:15 Carlisle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

QUINTUS MAXIMUS (third) had Happy Helen (fourth) a neck behind him at Thirsk on his latest start, which was by far the best effort of his career so far and he could have plenty more to come on his nursery bow of what appears a fair opening mark of 66. Star Of Lazise looks like the main threat after he showed much improved form to score over this trip at Newcastle last time and he could have a say off a 4lb higher mark. Action Plan is another to consider.

STAR OF LAZISE might be able to overcome a 4 lb rise for Newcastle. Vice Captain hasn't been at the top of his game in recent starts but there were excuses last time and his opening mark looks fair if recapturing his best form. Quintus Maximus and Happy Helen are closely matched on recent Thirsk novice form and could have more to come now handicapping.

Having been on the wrong end of both a draw and pace bias when mid-division at Beverley, PEACEFUL PROTEST gets the nod.

LTO Selection:

16:25 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DAISY ROOTS backed up her classified efforts when placed in handicap company at Kempton last week and Adam West's filly is unexposed over this distance, having finished third on her only attempt at Brighton. Native Melody can be forgiven her latest run at Doncaster, when slipping on the home turn, and is better judged on her Lingfield success prior. Frankfreya was outpaced on his handicap bow at Wolverhampton, but the step up in trip is likely to aid his cause.

DAISY ROOTS has improved of late, opening her account at Ffos Las late last month prior to posting solid efforts in defeat at Brighton and Kempton. She is unexposed at this trip and looks the way to go with Oisin Murphy doing the steering. Next on the list is Twilight Jazz, who shouldn't be judged too harshly on her latest effort and was in good form prior to that. Native Melody is best of the rest.

Preference is for DAISY ROOTS (nap) who has won relatively recently and is due a 1lb rise for her near miss at Kempton eight days ago.

16:40 Navan Handicap 14f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CELTIC REVIVAL is drawn wide in 19 and is a maiden on turf but has been running well. By Sea The Stars, he improved when upped to middle-distances this year, likes good ground and competes at this 47-65 grade under a 7lb claimer. Fond Farewell's yard was out of form when he disappointed in June but is flying now. He returns from a mini-break and is just 3lb higher than when winning at Limerick, and also steps up in distance. Make Good is well handicapped in this sphere but is lightly raced. A Cheltenham Grade 2-winning hurdler, he returned from 683 days off when a fine third at the Curragh last October, but will benefit from today's latest reappearance. Three-time winner Franno has been running well, while Curious Bride ran well on recent reappearance and has proven stamina. Pale Moonlight has been running reasonably well but hasn't won since October 2021.

ELZAAMSAN remains a maiden following 15 attempts but he caught the eye in this headgear combination at Leopardstown last time and, granted better luck-in-running here, he could be the answer. Make Good was returning from a lengthy absence when a close third in a big-field handicap at the Curragh in October and will be a big threat if able to build on that back from a 10-month break. Celtic Revival and Curious Bride are others to consider.

With his stable in excellent form lately, FOND FAREWELL may recover losses incurred when a beaten favourite at Limerick in June.

16:48 Carlisle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

VIXEY managed to shed her maiden tag at the sixth time of asking on her latest outing at Redcar and she now steps back into the handicap ranks, where she has finished runner-up twice over C&D this year. The three-year-old filly has held her form well and she can make it a double today. Patontheback went close to a 7f double when a half-length second at Musselburgh latest and a further 2lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Powdering completes the shortlist after her Wolverhampton third.

PATONTHEBACK is in a good vein of form and might be up to notching a second win of the month. The likeable Vixey is second choice ahead of Carlton And Co.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GLOBAL STYLE has been a model of consistency of late, going down by less than a length on both starts since tasting success at Brighton, and the eight-year-old is expected to get back to winning ways. Oscar Doodle has been knocking on the door at Newcastle and should be competitive at this level. El Royale was reported to have lost a shoe at Ayr last time and he is capable of bouncing back.

OSCAR DOODLE looks ready to strike again. Global Style has been knocking on the door at Brighton in recent weeks and is likely to emerge as the main danger ahead of Crazy Spin and El Royale.

This can go to CRAZY SPIN who may be able to boss things from the front. She has the form to go close at this level in any case.

REDBRIDGE RAMBLER has been given time to recover from his latest outing, when a disappointing fourth at Market Rasen in May. Fandabidozi has been running creditably in handicaps of late and is capable of being in the mix again, while The Geordie Ginge completes the shortlist.

REDBRIDGE RAMBLER shaped well on hurdling debut in the spring and is best excused his next run, so he's well worth another chance. The Geordie Ginge and Fandabidozi should both give another good account.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TORY REEL recently won over hurdles and reverts to Flat handicaps over a suitable distance. A half-brother to a Group 3 winner, he likes good ground and is nicely drawn. Vintage Gold was well held on his last Flat run - just two days before winning an ordinary recent Killarney hurdle. He, too, is a well-bred four-year-old who should continue to progress. Stablemate Barometer has been running well in similar handicaps, while stayer Building Bridges has done very well over hurdles recently but had previously been well held on the level.

BUILDING BRIDGES is well handicapped in this sphere and has looked better than ever over hurdles lately, so he's a confident choice. Barometer arrives on the back of a solid showing and should be on the premises, while Ellaat needs considering for a stable that has been amongst the winners this week.

Preference is for MAURA'S GIFT, who looks likely to come on plenty for her recent effort here last month with Colin Keane booked

Highwaygrey wasn't disgraced in sixth at Doncaster last time and he will appreciate this drop in grade after he was kindly dropped 2lb from the handicapper for that effort. However, preference is for course winner WHERE'S JEFF, who has hit the crossbar the last twice over 1m2f at Beverley and he should have no issue with the slight step back in trip here. Ayr Poet has won two out of his last three and should also be considered.

RUN SIMBA reacted well to the visor when second at Ayr a couple of weeks ago and is worth a chance to build on that promise. This is a drop in grade for Highwaygrey and he's second choice ahead of Where's Jeff.

17:30 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

After departing early at Worcester three starts ago, GOLD LINK registered a comfortable victory here and then might have felt the effects of two quick turnarounds when third at Bangor. A return to this track may see Emma Lavelle's gelding prove too strong for the opposition. Bagheera Ginge has been running well enough of late and is expected to give another solid account, while chasing debutant Latino Fling has to be of interest too.

There could be more to come from low-mileage 7-y-o GOLD LINK, who looked a big threat to the progressive winner before making a hash of the second-last at Bangor. He wasn't knocked about following that blunder and is very appealing back up in trip off the same mark, returned to the scene of last month's comfortable breakthrough success. Bagheera Ginge has been knocking on the door and should get his head in front soon enough. He rates the main danger ahead of chase debutant Latino Fling.

Course winner GOLD LINK was not discredited when third at Bangor last time and should be fine over today's new trip.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An open event could go the way of WYNTER WILDES, who landed this prize 12 months ago from 2lb lower. Charlie Fellowes' filly has yet to run a poor race at this venue and should be aided by a likely strong pace. Tafsir has been very progressive this season and must not be underestimated from the foot of the handicap. Glenister, who was turned over in a tactical affair when on a four-timer at Bath, is another to consider.

An ultra-competitive opener to week 4 of the Racing League and at forecast longer odds, MUZAFFAR gets the verdict to double his tally back up in trip having been given a chance by the handicapper. The main threat may emerge from Lizzie Jean, who has hit the crossbar on her last couple of starts and may have to settle for silver once again. The in-form Tafsir and recent C&D winner Wynter Wildes can do battle for third spot.

There is more to prove at this level but TAFSIR is on a roll and keeps looking capable of better, including over C&D two starts back.

18:00 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ARCADE ATTRACTION has seemingly been rejuvenated by the switch to the Sophie Leech stable, with a brace of C&D successes resulting in him going up 17lb in the handicap, and it may be difficult for the nine-year-old's rivals to stop him from landing the hat-trick. Blaze A Trail took a step back in the right direction when runner-up here last month and is capable of being in the mix again. Chess Player and Admiral's Sunset appear best of the remainder.

ARCADE ATTRACTION has been rejuvenated having joined Sophie Leech, winning again for his current yard in good style here last month, and he can go on to complete the C&D hat-trick. Blaze A Trail has also won twice at this C&D and is respected, with Chess Player the pick of the remainder.

Preference is for BLAZE A TRAIL, who runs this track very well and moves back up in trip after a good second over 2m1f here last month.

LTO Selection:

18:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Beechwood Star would be a deserved winner having been narrowly denied on his last two starts. Upped in trip and with cheekpieces applied ahead of this handicap bow, he is unlikely to be far away, but marginal preference is for I'M PUZZLED. The son of Sea The Moon showed a fair level of ability without troubling the judge across his qualifying runs and an opening mark of 75 looks workable. Ebt's Guard is another to consider.

DAN DEE PRINCE showed much improved form to get off the mark at the sixth time of asking at Leicester last week and provided he takes to a synthetic surface, Tom Dascombe's gelding can follow up under a penalty. Classy Clarets was picked off only late on by one from the rear over C&D recently, so he's fancied to give the selection most to think about, ahead of I'm Puzzled, who remains with potential now sent down the nursery route.

The switch to nurseries can see I'M PUZZLED step forward from his previous efforts and gain a breakthrough success.

LTO Selection:

18:30 Stratford Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

HUNTING PERCIVAL accounted for last year's winner of this race Isthebaropen (third) by more than five lengths over further here last time and he can confirm his superiority to go in again. Bucko's Boy is a real threat after his success at Bangor and he could find improvement for the step up in trip. Glinger Flame is capable at this level and could also get in the mix.

Last year's winner ISTHEBAROPEN shaped encouragingly without being unduly punished on her return here earlier this month and should be primed now in her bid to win back-to-back runnings. Bucko's Boy ran as well as he ever has when scoring at Bangor earlier in the month and also merits plenty of respect, whilst Hunting Percival finished ahead of the selection last time and is also tricky to rule out.

LTO Selection:

18:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BILLY MILL bounced back to form with a fast-finishing second at Kempton, and a similar effort might be enough to see Rod Millman's charge gain compensation for that agonising defeat. Yaaser is consistent and should not be far away, while similar comments apply to Craven, who is of definite interest on this all-weather debut. Others to note include Le Reveur and Dionysian.

A winner at Musselburgh in July, YAASER has shaped as if still in top form subsequently, having little go right when runner-up over this trip at Doncaster 12 days ago (nicely on top of remainder). He can make amends back on AW, with Half Nutz and Mobashr heading up the dangers. Dionysian is one of the 3-y-os to note.

A strong handicap in which CRAVEN is marginally preferred to Half Nutzp, Dionysian and Akmaam.

BEMPTON CLIFFS made a very pleasing return to action at Aintree, beaten less than three lengths into third in a class 3 event. The eight-year-old takes a drop in grade and that could help him record his fourth career success. Tikkinthebox was a long way clear of the third when second at Newton Abbot and should go well off the same rating. Jet Of Dreams responded well to cheekpieces to fill the runner-up berth at Worcester and can get involved off 4lb higher.

ATLANTIC STORM holds an excellent course record and another bold showing looks on the cards after his very good recent second here. Bempton Cliffs has started well in this sphere so should ensure the veteran doesn't have things all his own way though, with Worcester runner-up Jet of Dreams also in the mix.

19:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

NORDIC PASSAGE has been very unlucky to be beaten just a nose on each of his last two outings, with the latest display coming in a competitive sprint at the Curragh. Johnny Levins' eight-year-old can gain compensation on this occasion. Hydration is two out of three since switching to handicaps and he did it nicely at Doncaster last time, so is a live threat off 4lb higher. Ataser takes a step back in trip and is also worth a second look.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap, headed by CHAMPAGNE SARAH. She has proved consistent this season and was unlucky not to notch a third success of the campaign when going close at Newmarket where she was denied a clear run at a crucial stage. Irish raider Nordic Passage's turn is surely near and is a much-respected main danger ahead of the unexposed Hydration. Each-way cases can be made for Expert Agent and Treacherous.

Yorkshire hold a strong hand, with SNASH taken to maintain an unbeaten AW record at the main expense of Streak Lightning.

19:30 Stratford NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With not much form to go on, a tentative vote is given to BETTY'S TIARA, who goes for a yard that can ready one first time out. Her half-sister went in at the first time of asking for this stable, and any market confidence behind her would make her case even stronger. Hutcheson has Harry Cobden on board for his first start and he is related to plenty of winners on the Flat, while any money for Baskerville would also be of interest.

In a race where the betting is sure to provide more clues the tentative suggestion is HUTCHESON with the James Owen stable continuing in good form. Baskerville, Betty's Tiara and Atacama Sky are other newcomers with something to recommend them on paper, while the fact that Cairo King was sent off favourite for his Fontwell debut in February suggests he's thought capable of a lot better than he showed on that occasion.

LTO Selection:

19:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

NEW DAYRELL struck in taking fashion when making all at Sandown and he appeared to have plenty left in the tank so could be well up to defying his 6lb higher rating. The main danger might be Storm Catcher, who made the frame in a class 2 event at Ascot last month and should go well off the same mark now back up in trip. Miami Thunder was just a short head away from completing a 1m brace here after arriving from Ireland and is another to consider.

Lots with chances so at the likely odds it is worth siding with CAROLUS MAGNUS to build on his eye-catching Chelmsford effort and capitalise on a good mark for his new handler. Painters Palette is feared most on the back of his emphatic Redcar success, with the unexposed Moonspirit and course winner Miami Thunder also firmly in the picture.

In a competitive race, STORM CATCHER receives the vote ahead of Moonspirit, Roaring Gallagher and Bint Al Daar.

LTO Selection:

20:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The unexposed PARLANDO will have given connections plenty of encouragement when third on his seasonal/stable debut at Newmarket earlier in the month and he could be hard to stop with the benefit of that outing behind him. Loingseoir has been knocking hard on the door of late and is likely to go well once again, while Shine On Brendan and Arthur's Realm are others who make the shortlist.

LOINGSEOIR chased home an improving 3-y-o in race 14 of this series at Chepstow 3 weeks ago. He followed that with a fine second at Roscommon last Tuesday and can deservedly get his head back in front now. Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr have tasted plenty of Racing League success together in August and Hartswood should go well for that in-form pairing. The low-mileage Parlando and Ed Dunlop's Arthur's Realm also make the shortlist.

A trappy race in which HARTSWOOD should get a good pace to aim at and may come out on top. Helm Rock heads the long list of dangers.

LTO Selection:

20:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 2) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

The return to handicap company gives Silky Wilkie a big chance after struggling in the Group 2 King George Stakes won by Highfield Princess at Glorious Goodwood, although slight preference is for ALLIGATOR ALLEY. David O'Meara's gelding was only beaten a neck by a classy sprinter at York last week and he can race off a 1lb lower mark here. Dakota Gold should not be underestimated, nor should Arecibo and Rohaan.

ROHAAN is the class act in this field and, while his win at this track came from a much lower mark earlier in his career, it was a quite remarkable performance, so he's worth chancing. Alligator Alley arrives on the back of an excellent effort in a hot race at York and he's of obvious interest along with Batal Dubai, who defends an unbeaten course record.

Fine Wine won't be easy to peg back but ALLIGATOR ALLEY (nap) may well be able to do so now that he's returned to Tapeta.
