Only 2lb separates these three rivals on the ratings, with a tentative vote going to LUNATICK. Hughie Morrison's colt shaped better than the beaten distance at Goodwood last month suggests and could take some stopping on the pick of this season's efforts. Paternoster Square recently posted a solid second over C&D and the Invincible Spirit gelding is dangerous to discount if gaining an easy lead, while Magic Memories also arrives in fair form and shouldn't be far away.

A case can be made for all 3 but MAGIC MEMORIES ran just about a personal best at Windsor 17 days ago, and with Paternoster Square not looking totally at home on the camber here last time, he gets the nod.

Just 2lb between the runners on BHA ratings. MAGIC MEMORIES may have the greatest potential and he can make it sixth time lucky.

SEA THE POLARIS should be sharper now following a very promising debut effort at Galway in July. The Paddy Twomey-trained colt was slowly away and met trouble in running before keeping on nicely at the finish. With debutants from that stable tending to progress from their initial outing, he should be a different proposition at the second time of asking. Aidan O'Brien complicates the picture with three representatives, the best of which may turn out to be London City. Although only fifth on debut at the Curragh, the colt kept on well so should appreciate stepping up an additional two furlongs here. Stablemate Los Angeles is a full-brother to a pair of juvenile winners so should be a forward type. He holds all the right backend entries in the big two-year-old Group races.

SEA THE POLARIS shaped like a useful prospect when runner-up at Galway and can go one better. London City was given a considerate introduction when fifth at the Curragh and looks open to significant progress, while his stablemate Los Angeles is a newcomer to note.

Having shown plenty of promise when not getting a clear run on his Galway debut SEA THE POLARIS can go one better here

Polish has finished second on all three starts over hurdles since returning from close to a year off, and he can go well on his chasing debut, but he may find JET OF MAGIC has the edge. Sure to have been well schooled by Nigel Twiston-Davies, he would be the best of these over hurdles and he could have a promising career over the larger obstacles. Butler's Brief is also noted.

ANY NEWS has plenty of experience over fences and that should count for plenty here. Jet of Magic is rather unlucky not to be 2 from 2 for his current yard and is the obvious threat if taking to this sphere at the first attempt.

Seemingly aided by a tongue-tie on his two hurdling starts for Nigel Twiston-Davies, JET OF MAGIC might make a winning chase debut.

LIEUTENANT RASCAL was far from disgraced when finishing fourth on his nursery debut at Yarmouth in late-July and must hold leading claims on the switch to maiden company. Sea Of Angels posted a respectable fourth on her opening bow at Lingfield last month, with Stuart Williams' filly likely to emerge as the chief threat if proving as effective on turf. Big Brown Bear has something to find on the ratings but he makes more appeal than the remaining opposition.

A very ordinary maiden but at least SEA OF ANGELS showed something to work on when fourth at Lingfield on debut so she's taken to improve past the rather exposed Lieutenant Rascal.

Lieutenant Rascal and Big Brown Bear have experience but SEA OF ANGELS brings some untapped potential.

Natalia Lupini, who has already sent out a couple of juvenile winners this season, can strike with the twice-raced QUICKSTEPPING. The Fast Company colt shaped with distinct promise on his initial run at Leopardstown in July, before finishing third at Galway last month. Although weakening late on having led inside the final furlong, he possibly suffered from having to do a bit too much running from a wide draw early on. Apollo Prince kept on nicely once getting the hang of things on his racecourse debut at Galway. On collateral form, the Eddie and Patrick Harty-trained colt should be right in the mix. Sli Na Ghealai has acquired plenty of experience at this early stage of her career, so the Jim Bolger-trained filly is entitled to again make her presence felt.

SLI NE GHEALAI displayed improved form when third at Roscommon and in receipt of weight of much, she's clearly the one to beat. Absolute Advantage has a bigger performance in him and is a definite threat, along with Quickstepping.

A good few of these are entitled to improve but the standard is set by SLI NA GHEALAI after her improved effort here last time

Dreamsundermyfeet is having his first start since April which may be an issue, but he likes good ground given all four career wins have come on a similar surface. He could go well, but SAXON QUEEN might have the edge for the trainer/jockey combination who won this last year. She is making her chasing debut after being beaten a head over hurdles at Newton Abbot, and first-time cheekpieces may work the oracle. If I Say and Justshortofabubble are others to consider.

Several of these arrive with a bit to prove including FINDUSATGORCOMBE, who hasn't been seen for 8 months but starts out for Robert Walford on potentially very lenient mark. He gets the tentative nod ahead of Justshortofabubble, who has struck up a fine partnership with this rider and is expected to be bang there once again. The Peter/Sean Bowen combination landed this event 12 months ago and Saxon Queen is one to look out for making her chasing debut.

NOTRE MAISON has yet to post a bad effort in three appearances over C&D and the Coach House filly may be able to go one place better than last month's runner-up effort off only 2lb higher. Thank The Lord could never get involved when always behind at Lingfield recently, but the four-year-old's previous efforts would likely see him go close. Simon Hodgson's charge may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Arzaak, who may appreciate a return to handicap company.

NOTRE MAISON has been in good form since the application of cheekpieces, getting off the mark at this C&D in June and running well here on her last 2 starts, so she is taken to resume winning ways. Thank The Lord could bounce back with Hollie Doyle in the saddle and is feared most, with Arzaak completing the shortlist.

Notre Maison is solid but the return of headgear could see NO SPEED LIMIT bounce back to form.

WARRIOR BRAVE has proved a revelation since adopting prominent tactics this year winning six-furlong handicaps at both Listowel and Fairyhouse and last time made all in impressive fashion to beat the 103-rated Carrytheone by over three lengths in a seven-furlong Naas conditions race. Quar Shamar beat Unless in a mile Dundalk maiden before a creditable sixth to Paddington in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, although like the selection he was soundly beaten at Royal Ascot. Caracal won both starts as a juvenile in France but has obviously been difficult to train and has now joined Joseph O'Brien after a lengthy lay-off. Filey Bay was placed in a couple of valuable handicap hurdles but will find this trip sharp after winning over two miles at Tramore.

Cases can be made for most of these, but preference is for LUST, who shaped as if better for the run after 9 months off at Fairyhouse in July and Ger Lyons' charge is fancied to notch a fifth career success. Second choice is Warrior Brave, who bounced back to form to pick up his third win of a productive campaign at Naas just under 6 weeks ago. Filey Bay and Quar Shamar can do battle for third spot.

He needs to bounce back from his no-show at Royal Ascot but QUAR SHAMAR (nap) is a major player on his sixth in the Irish Guineas.

Point-to-point winner DRUMLEE SPUD, who is a half-sister to a Listed jumps winner in the US, is the most appealing of this select bunch and, having set connections back 45,000 pounds at the Cheltenham sales in April, she is presented with a good opportunity to shine on her Rules debut. Newmill Getaway is entitled to build on her respectable bumper effort at Uttoxeter in July, while any support in the betting for Thinking Thyme would be noteworthy.

DRUMLEE SPUD won her sole start in Irish points during the spring and, having transferred to a successful stable, she may well follow up switched to Rules. Newmill Getaway shaped like a stayer starting out at Uttoxeter but can still make her presence felt.

Art Fantastique seems likely to prove popular here after winning at Windsor last time out, but he has been out up 6lb for that and will need to improve again to get the better of ZACHARY. Gelded after three poor efforts, he showed considerable improvement to come home third here last month, beaten less than two lengths, and, off a generous 2lb lower mark, the son of Harry Angel seems to have a solid chance. Birkie Boy may prove best of the rest in this small field.

ART FANTASTIQUE left his previous efforts well behind when making a winning handicap debut at Windsor 3 weeks ago and can defy a 6 lb rise with further progress likely. Zachary is another who improved for the switch to nurseries when third at Brighton and is a clear next best.

Art Fantastique comes here on the back of a win but ZACHARY (nap) still has some potential and he gets the nod.

Joseph O'Brien has a strong hand in this Group 3 feature and perhaps HONEY GIRL can give weight away all around. She handles soft ground well and won twice at the Curragh earlier this year including the Athasi Stakes and again ran a cracker over seven at Leopardstown last time. She didn't enjoy a clear passage on that occasion when runner-up to Zarinsk in the Group 2 Minstrel Stakes. Statement was very impressive when landing the Group 3 Concorde Stakes over C&D last autumn but didn't trouble the judge in two outings since in Australia, while Miramis put up a career best last time when winning the Listed Corrib Stakes at the Galway Festival. Matilda Picotte won a Listed race at Newmarket last autumn and showed good form on soft ground earlier this year including when third to Mawj in the Qipco 1000 Guineas.

HONEY GIRL just holds the edge on form so is taken to go one better than her good Leopardstown second last time out and gain a third success of 2023. Clever And Cool is feared most from the in-form Jim Bolger yard ahead of Statement and Matilda Picotte.

Last year's winning trainer Joseph O'Brien again has a strong hand and HONEY GIRL looks a safer bet than Statement.

SFORZA CASTLE bumped into a progressive type when he was an eye-catching second over C&D last month and, given that was easily his best effort so far, there could be more to come from Ben Pauling's gelding. The fitting of cheekpieces may give him some added focus and a breakthrough success looks likely. Olivers Travels and Ismael both stayed 3m in point-to-points and appeal most of the remainder.

OLIVERS TRAVELS couldn't land the odds on his first go in this sphere when a recent third at Perth but still showed more than enough to suggest he can build on it and add to his two bumper wins. Sforza Castle and Ismael both have some fair form to their names too and can chase home Peter Bowen's 5yo in that order.

Trainer Tony Carroll took this race in 2018, 2019, and 2021, suggesting he knows exactly the sort needed, but Ripon tenth Holbache will need to do better, even though he has won here before. Kit Gabriel ran out of steam late on at Pontefract on his first start of the year and may mount a challenge, but ORMOLULU is preferred. Ridden perfectly to get up late on by Saffie Osborne at Leicester last month, an added 3lb doesn't look enough to stop her following up.

HOLBACHE's effort at Ripon last time has to go down as disappointing given the promise of his reappearance but he's a C&D winner and the assessor has given him a massive chance. Kit Gabriel should step up on his reappearance and is a threat, along with Ormolulu.

Good ground or quicker would bring Kit Gabriel right into it but HOLBACHE could be the answer in this less-competitive affair.
Class & Speed Card

LADY TILBURY made no impression over 6f in a higher grade at Naas last weekend but is definitely at her best over the minimum trip and returns to her favourite track. The daughter of Bated Breath is unbeaten in three starts over C&D and beat Harmony Rose by half-a-length for the second time this season here last month. She needs a sound surface and connections will be hoping the ground dries out. Twilight Jet, a dual winner at Group 3 level, is the class act here but hasn't been at his best for some time. He showed a bit more sparkle at the Curragh last time before fading to finish just behind the selection. Harmony Rose is a largely consistent type who has been in the money on all six runs over C&D and has place claims again.

A few with chances but DUN NA SEAD is enjoying an excellent season and taken to bag a fourth win on the back of her very good recent Curragh third. Twilight Jet would pose a major threat if back on his A-game in first-time blinkers though, with Harmony Rose and Lady Tilbury two others who can have a say.

The penalised TWILIGHT JET will probably sink or swim in the new blinkers but he's a genuine Group horse running in a Listed race.
Class & Speed Card

A wind operation in June appeared to work it's magic for DYNAMIC KATE when Neil Mulholland's mare scored with something in hand over C&D at the start of last month. A 4lb rise for that success looks lenient and a double could be on the horizon. Ma Belle Noire has been running with credit in maiden/novice company of late and is expected to remain competitive on the switch to handicaps. The six-year-old is feared most ahead of the unexposed Oneway Express.

DYNAMIC KATE showed the benefit of a wind op when going in over C&D last month and a 4 lb rise doesn't look sufficient to prevent her from following up. Ma Belle Noire is a reliable sort and appeals as the one to give Neil Mulholland's resurgent mare most to do now back in handicap company ahead of C&D winner Ruby's Reward.
Class & Speed Card

OPTIVA STAR just got up to score over a furlong shorter here last month, but has only been put up 3lb accordingly and Richard Hannon has booked promising 7lb claimer Joe Leavy to ride. With the added furlong seemingly a positive, he may well land his Brighton hat-trick at the expense of Hitched, who weakened over 1m2f at Ffos Las but should be far happier back at a mile. and perhaps Rivas Rob Roy, who boasts five victories at this track.

HITCHED has gained both his career wins over 1m, and having shaped well until his stamina ebbed away over 10f at Ffos Las, he's fancied to get right back on track here. Buy The Dip has a lower turf mark to exploit and seems sure to give it a bold showing, with Rivas Rob Roy always worth a second look over this C&D.

He came unstuck over 1m2f on heavy ground last time but HITCHED had been progressive beforehand and he can resume winning ways.
Class & Speed Card

ANO MANNA found 7f a bit sharp when third in a big field at the Curragh last month but recorded wins over a mile at Killarney either side of that. She's only gone up 2lb for her latest victory which enables her to remain in this grade and this trip should be within her compass on a flat track like Tipperary. So Messi was third to the progressive Fratas on handicap debut at Ballinrobe and was defeated by only a head when runner-up at Killarney in July. He should appreciate the extra furlong here. Bang Po was well behind the selection when a disappointing favourite at the Curragh last time but a return to the form of his second to Fratas at Galway would certainly see him involved in the finish.

SO MESSI went down only narrowly at Killarney last time and with that form having been franked he's taken to go one better off the same mark here. Ano Manna heads the list of dangers on the back of her recent victory at the same track, although Get Set Jet, Bang Po and Silkies Sib all need shortlisting too in a competitive handicap.

Top-weight Ano Manna is an obvious starting point but slight preference is for SILKIES SIB on the back of a much improved Cork run
Class & Speed Card

Secret Trix has proved a revelation since being fitted with cheekpieces in May and can't be taken lightly in his quest to land a four-timer off 6lb higher in the ratings. However, CALL ME TARA is only 1lb higher than her first success of the season at Uttoxeter in July and may have more to come over 2m4f given how much kinder she travelled that day. Appreciate completes the shortlist.

SECRET TRIX has shown much improved form since fitted with cheekpieces, maintaining his unbeaten run this season with a comfortable success at Uttoxeter in July, and he can continue his progress to add to his tally. Call Me Tara resumed winning ways back over hurdles last time and looks the main danger, with Appreciate the pick of the remainder.
Class & Speed Card

ETON BLUE made use of his stamina under Simon Walker in a similar race over a shorter trip at Goodwood last week and still has a lot to offer, despite picking up a 5lb penalty for that victory. However, it's perhaps more notable that the partnership also landed this corresponding race in 2021 and, given this doesn't appear to be an overwhelmingly competitive renewal, a repeat success could be imminent. Last year's victor Silver Bubble is feared most, although Starfighter is another serious contender at this level.

SILVER BUBBLE is having her first run of the year at a track where she won 4 times in 2022 so she's taken to exploit a potentially handy mark. Eton Blue took his form to another level when an easy winner at Goodwood so is the obvious threat under a penalty, with Breguet Boy best of the others.

Several in-form sorts on show but it might be worth chancing the class-dropping FASCINATING LIPS.
Class & Speed Card

A winner over 1m6f in France for Andre Fabre, RAIN put in her best display so far for Jimmy Barcoe when third at Roscommon last time. Dropped out in rear, she made good headway down the outer early in the straight and wasn't given a hard time when her jockey realised that easy winner Secret Rock had flown. The daughter of Sea The Moon seems to be running into form and may now be poised to strike. French Company gained his third all-weather success at Dundalk last month but has also won on turf and his C&D third to Belgoprince in July reads well after the latter's runaway victory at Epsom on Monday. Bumper winner Lispendense was a creditable fifth on handicap debut over C&D last month. He'd been off a while before that and there should be more to come from the lightly-raced eight-year-old.

An ultra-competitive finale in which the tentative selection is HUMTAZA, who failed to make a splash on her first foray into handicaps at Down Royal just over 5 weeks ago, but the handicapper has dropped her 4 lb as a result. She can get the better of Hello Power, who has just a sole victory to her name but has the services of Colin Keane on board for the first time here. Kings Prince and Global Energy are just a couple others to consider.

Given the favourable weather forecast the ground may dry up sufficiently for FRENCH COMPANY to follow up a recent AW win
