There were 35 Races on Thursday 4th September 2025 across 5 meetings. There was 8 races at Southwell, 7 races at Haydock, 8 races at Lingfield, 6 races at Laytown, 6 races at Sedgefield, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.
The data in the racecards below is for the past year. View the racecard key.
Class & Speed Card

Bay Dream Believer has won on her last three outings and stayed on strongly to score twice at Ripon last month, although she has had six starts on the all-weather without a place. She might still prove the biggest danger to NIGHT TARA, who is trained by last year's winning handler Sir Mark Prescott. Second when attempting to complete a Chelmsford brace, despite racing wide, she can go one better now upped in trip. Princess Niyla was beaten a neck at Redcar and is another to consider.

Although NIGHT TARA (nap) found one too good over 1m2f at Chelmsford on Saturday there was still plenty to like about the run.
Class & Speed Card

Spartan Times arrives in great form with four wins and a second from his last five starts, including a recent success at Ripon, but he has a 5lb penalty and takes a step up in class. PRALOGNAN travels over from Ireland after victories at Downpatrick over hurdles and on the Newcastle Tapeta before being denied a clear run at Galway. With Derek O'Connor riding, he could get back to winning ways. Ribble River is another to consider under the in-form Henry Callan.

Pralognan is a fascinating Irish contender but Made All and SPARTAN TIMES look strong rivals.
Class & Speed Card

With the Crisford horses in good form, a big run is on the cards from Fiery Damsel, a daughter of Too Darn Hot who is one to watch on her first appearance. Jumeirah Sands was strongly fancied before missing the start and finishing fifth at Wolverhampton. She could do a lot better, but INSIDE STORY is the form choice. Fifth on her debut but only beaten a half-length since when second at Kempton, slight improvement may be all she needs.

It's hard to get away from INSIDE STORY who pushed the subsequent Lowther fourth close on her second start two months ago.
Class & Speed Card

COMMANDING OFFICER has plenty of stamina in his pedigree as a son of Teofilo out of a Maxios mare and although yet to live up to expectations with a third here and a fourth at York, the step up from 7f ought to bring some improvement for the stable that has won the last four runnings of this contest. Celestarak looked the sort to move on from his debut effort and is another to consider, alongside newcomer Faeberon, who cost 475,000gns as a yearling.

Commanding Officer is preferred to Celestarak among those who have run. Newcomers FAEBERON and Galilean Quality need a check
Class & Speed Card

DAVORGE NATION is the obvious pick, despite carrying a 6lb penalty, as he is due to go up a further 2lb for future contests. Running on well at Musselburgh last week, he was a length clear at the line, with the third a long way back, and there is every chance the sixth furlong will see him in an even better light. Spartacus Warrior is interesting dropping back in trip after his Beverley second, while White Ladder is better than he showed last time out.

Davorge Nation and Madam Mali are interesting but SPARTACUS FORCE shaped at Beverley as if he would be suited by this trip.
Class & Speed Card

Capall Rasa appeared as if he would improve for the experience when a distant third of four at Yarmouth, but he still looks vulnerable to a newcomer in this line-up. William Haggas loves a winner here and he introduces GASPACHO, a daughter of Ghaiyyath from a good family, and she may prove forward enough to win at the first attempt under Cieren Fallon. Aerial Silk is also of interest under Danny Tudhope, who rode the winner of this race last season.

Gaspacho, Muthhil & TIGER POWER have little to choose between them on sales price and the latter gets no more than a token vote.
Class & Speed Card

Urban Dandy hasn't finished outside the top two in any of his last five starts, winning once, and is likely to be thereabouts again. Hint Of The Jungle competes off a career-low rating and needs considering, but ASADJUMEIRAH bounced back to form when making the frame at Redcar and has been dropped 1lb. With a similar display, Antony Brittain's charge could be the one to beat.

No News is second choice behind PIPERSTOWN who is back on his last winning mark having been dropped 2lb for his latest effort.
Class & Speed Card

DEMETRIUS is progressing nicely and, typically of a Sir Mark Prescott-trained horse, he could be ahead of his mark now he steps up in trip. After 6f wins at Catterick and Chelmsford, the son of Dream Ahead has improved with each run in a handicap and, 2lb well-in under a penalty for the latest success, this could be another well-executed plot by his astute trainer. Fellow penalised/last-time winners Blue To Blue and Lyra Lea are also potentially well treated and make this competitive.

A spicy event with three penalty carriers going at it, but JUNGLE KNIGHT enters nurseries off a workable mark and can come out on top.
Class & Speed Card

SIBLING RIVELRY confirmed the promise of her maiden win in March when scoring on her handicap debut over 1m4f at Goodwood last month. A 5lb rise for that success may still underestimate David Simcock's filly and she tops the shortlist as a result. The consistent Team Player could prove to be the main danger, although Neoma and Sourdough should not be discounted.

The hat-trick is very much on the cards for SIBLING RIVELRY who won with a bit up her sleeve on her handicap debut at Goodwood.
Class & Speed Card

Sapphire Princess has shown ability in each of her four outings and finished second when making her first appearance for the Ollie Sangster stable at Ayr. She can get involved again, but it may pay to side with SECRET SONATA. Andrew Balding's filly progressed from her introduction to occupy the runner-up berth at Carlisle last month and the extra furlong could bring about the improvement required. Empire Power completes the shortlist.

A final chance is given to SAPPHIRE PRINCESS now returning to 7f. Secret Sonata is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

ALAMINOS impressed when making a successful racecourse debut at Thirsk and could cope with carrying a penalty at this stage of his development. The prospect of slower ground shouldn't be too much of an issue for the son of Pinatubo and he is difficult to oppose. Napolian was hampered when third in that race and can do better with a clear run. Division, who cost 800,000gns as a yearling, should be wiser after his rallying second on his Windsor introduction.

As his stable's only entry in the Middle Park, there's good reason to believe that DIVISION will find plenty on his Windsor form.
Class & Speed Card

DOUBLE MEANING took a huge step forward when winning by 10 lengths over 1m6f at Southwell recently and John Berry's unexposed gelding is very hard to oppose. He is 5lb well-in here, despite a 6lb penalty, and that shows the task his rivals face. Beggarman and Velvet Vulcan are also recent winners and can fight it out for the minor honours.

Beggarman and Velvet Vulcan come here in fine fettle but DOUBLE MEANING is due a hefty rise for his recent win and is preferred.
Class & Speed Card

Saisons D'Or returned to winning ways at Catterick and should go well off a 3lb higher rating for the in-form Jedd O'Keeffe stable. However, THORNTONLEDALE MAX produced a better effort when filling the runner-up spot at Lingfield last week and goes off the same mark. As long as the four-year-old can back that performance up, he will prove hard to beat. Outrun The Storm heads the remainder.

Thorntonledale Max is second choice but CLIFFCAKE is only 1lb higher than when winning over 6f here in February.
Class & Speed Card

Nine-time winner DEVIL'S ANGEL is a 6f specialist and, being suited by the all-weather, should handle the surface. Rated 87 at his peak, he is operating at a lower level now but drops to a weak claimer. American In Paris' rating has also fallen but, similarly, has scored this year. She has 11lb to find with the selection on official ratings, but her rider claims 3lb and she should handle this surface. St Ouen is an interesting runner as has raced exclusively in Jersey since 2019. Although a 10-time winner there, the entire faces a different task racing on sand now.

A hopeful vote is given to DEVIL'S ANGEL (nap) who is well suited by this trip and comes from a stable that had a 33-1 winner on Sunday
Class & Speed Card

A few with chances, perhaps none more so than ALBANY, who was able to build on her seasonal return when defeated by a head at York. Ralph Beckett's charge shouldn't be inconvenienced by a drop in trip and although 3lb higher, is likely to have more in the locker. Hot Flame, second on her Newmarket comeback when attempting to supplement her Yarmouth debut success, is another potential improver who must enter calculations. Others to note include Consecrated and the class-dropping Music Piece.

Hot Flame boasts the Group 1 entry but the most potential might belong to CONSECRATED who can bounce back from her run 12 weeks ago.
Class & Speed Card

The unexposed SANSANETTI was a short-head second over this distance at Chelmsford three weeks ago and a 1lb rise may not be enough to stop her from going a place better on this occasion. San Francisco Bay failed to fire at Epsom last time but it is far too soon to be writing him off, while Harlington and Birthday Angel complete the shortlist.

A few to consider but SANSANETTI was only just denied at Chelmsford last time and still has some scope for improvement.
Class & Speed Card

HERJA looked set to open her account before falling two out over an extended 2m3f at Bangor in July and it would be no surprise to see Patrick Griffin's mare make amends on this occasion. Kottayam is another with strong form claims but has to bounce back from a Market Rasen spill, while Lipstick Traces and Voodoo Angel are the pick of the remainder.

Both Herja (second choice) and KOTTAYAM need to put significant spills behind them but they still look likely to fight this out.
Class & Speed Card

After successes at Wolverhampton and Kempton, Popeye Doyle has proven to be versatile regarding the surface and course orientation. Quite whether he can cope with another 6lb rise is the big question on his first visit to Southwell. With that in mind, it can pay to go with TIEMPO ALEGRE, who registered a comfortable C&D triumph before almost repeating the feat 10 days ago. Due a 2lb rise, this is a good time to catch Jack Jones' filly. Pearly Squirrel and Antiquity complete the shortlist.

Tiempo Alegre (second choice) likes it here but POPEYE DOYLE is selected to make it 3-3 since the cheekpieces were applied.
Class & Speed Card

Both HASIYNA'S career wins have come at the distance on an all-weather surface, so she could be nicely suited by these conditions. Aga Khan-bred and rated 69 at her peak, she scored twice at Dundalk last winter and while winless since January, has been running consistently well and reverts to an ordinary handicap. Lismacbryan has useful recent form and is suited by this distance. He has never raced at this course or on the all-weather, but likes good turf ground so might cope. Ace In The Pack was trained by the late Kevin Prendergast last year and while he hasn't run since last September, he showed glimpses of mild promise and his rating has fallen.

Trained at nearby Balbriggan, LISMACBRYAN may be sufficiently familiar with this surface to reproduce his solid recent turf form
Class & Speed Card

King Of The Sea arrives following triumphs over this C&D and at Salisbury. Ed Walker's charge isn't in any deeper now and a 4lb rise for the latest of his victories looks fair, but preference is still for OBITO. Stepping up to 10 furlongs proved fruitful when he won in comfortable fashion at Ayr and, despite a 5lb hike, he can find further progress at this trip. Gallic Legend heads the remainder.

The 3yos probably have the edge, with last-time winners OBITO (nap) and King Of The Sea looking clearly the strongest candidates.
Class & Speed Card

AKHO MEZZNA has taken the silver medal home in both of his career starts, most recently over this trip at Doncaster, and is likely to have more to come. Jack Jones' juvenile looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to get off the mark. Victory Ace finished sixth on his introduction at Newmarket and it would be no surprise to see him take a step forward for the in-form Roger Varian team. Of the remainder, Crazee Icon makes the most appeal.

Captain Fox and TOASTMASTER both shaped nicely over 6f on their respective debuts and can fight out the finish.
Class & Speed Card

The consistent IVANE hit the crossbar over 2m7f at Worcester last weekend and James Owen appears to have found an ideal opportunity for the seven-year-old to go one better. Luminaries has won four of his last six starts and should not be discounted, despite an underwhelming effort at Perth last time. Recent Market Rasen second Couldbeaweapon is another to consider.

Ivane and Couldbeaweapon are in form but RORY'S STORY might have a tad more scope for progression over this trip.
Class & Speed Card

Ribston Pippin was the top-rated horse in the classified stakes he won at Yarmouth last month and reverts to handicapping on a feasible enough mark to be a key player. Nevertheless, it's worth considering that he was getting 7lb from BEAUTIFUL DAWN, who was a close third in that race. Armed with a 5lb pull, James Owen's filly can turn the form around. Coloane, Elvetham and Tootsie are others to consider in a competitive race for the grade.

A few with chances but RIBSTON PIPPIN has got his act together the last twice and may well improve some more.
Class & Speed Card

JERED MADDOX has poor recent form but can nonetheless complete a three-in-a-row at this famous fixture. Hugely favoured by the all-weather or this course, the nature of today's meeting means he again competes using his turf rating, which is significantly lower than his all-weather mark. Clonmacash has a good all-weather record, but races off 6lb higher than when winning at the Curragh recently. Dundalk maiden winner Eyema Candy Girl could be suited by reverting to this distance.

Dual C&D winner Jered Maddox rates a big danger to recent 5f Curragh scorer CLONMACASH who will appreciate the extra furlong
Class & Speed Card

DREAMASAR shaped with bundles of promise when third behind subsequent Listed scorer Blue Bolt on debut at Newbury in June. The daughter of Masar might only need to find minimal improvement in order to shed her maiden tag at the second time of asking. Holly Holy showed a little more on her second outing when sixth at Southwell and looks the main danger. Leeson Street can beat Bella Bianca home for third.

This looks a good opportunity for DREAMASAR to build on her promising Newbury debut. Bella Bianca may chase her home.
Class & Speed Card

BROKEN ICE bounced back to form when winning narrowly over 3m at Perth last month and the Irish raider is hard to oppose in this company, despite a 5lb rise. Spitalfield has been running well in defeat this summer and is likely to pose the biggest threat to the selection. The rest all have questions to answer, but Paddy De Pole should not be discounted for Paul Nicholls.

Broken Ice and Spitalfield arrive in form but HOSTILE HOTELIER shapes like he'd stay forever and can bounce back.
Class & Speed Card

The form of POWERFUL HOOK HEAD's fourth at Dundalk in July is working out well and he looks a contender after being collared in the closing stages over further in an optional claimer at Roscommon. Ocean Manifest rates a threat after being pipped by a head in Killarney. His half-sister won twice on the all-weather track at Lingfield, so sand bodes well for him. Lohengrin has plenty to find at the weights, but finished well for a close third in this race last year and has each-way claims. Raydamann is the highest-rated horse but takes a marked drop in trip, while this is also sharp enough for Captain Hanley.

Having shown promise on the Flat last season, RAYDAMANN could be the way to go and he's been in good form over jumps latetly
Class & Speed Card

Jumbeau struck on the turf track here prior to being well beaten in a warmer event at York, but she can't be written off yet. Knebworth is a two-time C&D winner who ran too badly to be true when last seen at Goodwood in June and may bounce back, but KINETIC FORCE gets the nod. The son of Land Force outran odds of 25/1 to fill the runner-up spot at Yarmouth and can take advantage of an unchanged rating.

It is hard to knock ALMATY STAR (nap)'s AW efforts this year and he can exploit his favourable mark now back on Polytrack.
Class & Speed Card

LIMERICK LEADER has been a highly consistent sort since resuming his career over fences this summer and dropping back in trip should prove ideal as he looks to notch up a fourth career success. That may be at the main expense of the returning Too Cool Forshrule and Dream Jet, who shapes as though he will relish going up to this distance.

Limerick Leader must go well again but TOO COOL FORSHRULE (nap) makes appeals back from a break and can go 3-4 in handicaps.
Class & Speed Card

Eddie Lynam's PUNK POET is sliding down the weights and, with a victory and a third-place posted on his two visits to Laytown, appeals in this handicap. Cherry Pink does herself no favours with tardy starts, but stayed on for fourth at Dundalk last month and won over 6f at this fixture last year. Nibras Rainbow has plenty of all-weather form and arrives in good heart after a runner-up berth at Bellewstown. Distillate was a place behind Nibras Rainbow in third and has her chance, while Mullacash Buzz is a front-runner competing off a lowly mark and is far from out of contention. Roman Harry is a C&D winner who could be reinvigorated by a return to the beach.

3 previous course winners face off and preference is for PUNK POET who is down to his lowest ever mark and shaped okay on AW latest
Class & Speed Card

James Owen's horses are running well and his top-weight Little Keilee - the only distance winner in this field - has every chance, despite being beaten over three lengths off 1lb lower at Newmarket last month. Sahana showed some improvement when second at the same track, but a chance is taken on DARN HOT MYSTERY. Still a maiden after six runs, she has weakened over a mile on her last two starts and may do better over this trip to capitalise on a sliding rating.

This could be the day that three-time Irish winner LITTLE KEILEE opens her account for James Owen.
Class & Speed Card

This can go the way of EXPRESS RUN, who may find improvement on the back of wind surgery, having run with plenty of credit over further at Kelso in May. Brian Hughes retaining the ride is a plus and he is narrowly preferred to recent Cartmel scorer The Navigator, who won on his last start here back in October. Annie Agnew and Mr Le Philosophe cannot be ruled out either.

Irish raider ANNIE AGNEW ran well after a break last time and she retains some upside with so little mileage on the clock.
Class & Speed Card

COME ON THE LADS has been picking up plenty of prize money in quality handicap hurdles and is dangerous reverting to the Flat. He kept a Dundalk specialist honest when finishing second on his last outing in this sphere. Expound was beaten a head into second here a couple of years ago. He has been placed in his last three races (once over hurdles and twice on the Flat), so a big run looks likely. Shoot To Kill is a money-spinner and ought to get involved on stable debut for Noel Kelly, while Giuseppe Cassioli has the assistance of Patrick Mullins and is also in the mix.

Having gone close on a previous course run, EXPOUND is taken to go one better after a cracking run at Galway when last seen on the Flat
Class & Speed Card

DANCING WITH DRUMS showed courage to get up late on his handicap debut at Southwell for his first victory and although upped 3lb, he has been gelded since and there might be improvement to come. Sarabi was beaten four lengths here over 5f last month, but she has a C&D triumph on her CV and has to be respected. Rovinia is another to take seriously.

Rovinia should be involved but DANCING WITH DRUMS appeals as the type to carry on improving and he can follow up his Southwell win.
Class & Speed Card

The defection of Elusive Power paves the way for FAIRLAWN SKIPPER to kick on after he made all at Stratford in early July. Shane Fenelon's 5lb claim helps to negate most of the penalty incurred for that success and the progressive son of Schiaparelli could have too many gears for Frammy, despite his sole rival showing the benefit of a wind operation with a respectable second at Worcester.

With Fairlawn Skipper penalised for winning a slowly run race at Stratford, marginal preference is for FRAMMY.
Ths is the racecard key.
