(1) Uncle Dick 1.2/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in August. 10/3, creditable third of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (8f, good to firm) 4 days ago, running on. Claims.
Won over C&D last month and was a clear third at Salisbury last week; key player.

(5) Buy The Dip 2.5/1, Winner at Lingfield in June. Creditable third of 7 in handicap (3/1) at this C&D (good) 8 days ago. Can go well again.
Placed in his last three runs including a rallying third over C&D last time; respected.

(3) Coloane 4/1, Still a maiden but not disgraced when fourth of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, good) 24 days ago. Player off a 2 lb lower mark.
0-13 but she's a consistent type who has possibilities back in a Class 6 event.
LTO Selection:

14:20 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

UNCLE DICK did well to finish third at Salisbury on Thursday. The winner, who made all, kicked clear from an early stage and, having been anchored in rear, it was to his credit that Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding was able to get to within a length and a half. He was successful over C&D prior to that and the return can help him regain the winning thread. Coloane drops in class and ought to be capable of playing a leading role, along with the consistent Buy The Dip.

None of these can be ruled out but COLOANE can capitalise on a handy mark now and gain a deserved first success. In-form pair Free Step and Uncle Dick both bring solid credentials to the table and can chase home William Jarvis' filly in that order.

This looks a bit trappy but last month's C&D winner UNCLE DICK gets the vote ahead of Buy The Dip and Coloane.

(3) Lord Sam's Castle (5.5/1 +0%)
Lord Sam's Castle

5.5/1(+0%)
(3) Lord Sam's Castle 5.5/1, Fairly useful on Flat (stays 8.5f). Showed an aptitude for hurdling when third of 8 at Aintree in June but faded in the closing stages and stamina could always be an issue for him in this sphere.
Dual 7f winner on the Flat; creditable third on jumps debut but that form nothing special.

Kyogo

5/1(+50%)
(2) Kyogo 5/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. Ran to a similar leve when third on Killarney hurdle debut in July and possibly unsuited by softer ground when well held back there since. Cheekpieces added now. Likely to go well.
Runner-up in 2 Flat maidens; fair 3rd on jumps debut; headgear tried; stable second string.

Doctor Nightingale

(4) Doctor Nightingale 0.3/1, Fair maiden on the Flat and has made a sound start to her hurdling career, placing on all 3 starts, the latest at Down Royal 10 days ago. The one to beat for top Irish stable.
Flat maiden; placed on all three starts over hurdles and looks the one to beat.

3rd (1) Ironopolis (7.5/1 -67%)
Ironopolis

7.5/1(-67%)
(1) Ironopolis 7.5/1, Fair on Flat (stays 1½m), although his best efforts have been achieved on AW. Brian Hughes booked for hurdle debut.
Fair on the Flat, winner over 1m4f on the AW; quite interesting on jumps debut.
LTO Selection:

14:30 Perth Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DOCTOR NIGHTINGALE has produced a string of consistent efforts over timber and she is likely to put that experience to good use, especially with this appearing to be a solid opportunity for her to gain a first career success. Lord Sam's Castle is expected to build on his Aintree third, while any market support for Ironopolis on his first attempt in this sphere would make him of interest.

As usual, Gordon Elliott has been knocking in the winners on a regular basis here this summer and he might be good for a 1-2 in this opener, with DOCTOR NIGHTINGALE, the mount of the season's leading jockey Sean Bowen, preferred to Kyogo.

(3) Ya Know Yaseff 1.62/1, Improved in blinkers (retained) when getting off the mark in 23f Worcester handicap chase (good to soft) 8 days ago. The one to beat under a 7 lb penalty if showing up in similar form.
First-time blinkers presumably helped when coming clear at Worcester last week.

(4) Janeslittlevoice 2.5/1, Poor maiden hurdler but has shown she can be competitive from her basement mark over fences when runner-up in handicaps at Fontwell in recent weeks.

Sharp Note

3/1(-9%)
(1) Sharp Note 3/1, Different proposition on second chase start when winning 5-runner C&D handicap in June. Not in quite the same form at Southwell and Stratford since but perhaps a return to this venue will help her bounce back to her best.
Won comfortably over C&D in June on just her second run over fences; excuses last time.
4

Prince Cleni

5.5/1(-83%)
(2) Prince Cleni 5.5/1, Little form over hurdles but did well over fences at the start of the summer, second at Uttoxeter then winning at Southwell (both 3m). His 2 runs since then have been disappointing, though. Bounce back needed.
Player on his Southwell win in June and all headgear left off after two lesser shows.
LTO Selection:

14:40 Newton Abbot Handicap Chase (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

YA KNOW YASEFF was able to record a comfortable success on her return to the larger obstacles at Worcester having been fitted with blinkers for the first time (retained), and she will be a tough nut to crack if arriving in the same form under a penalty. Sharp Note won over C&D from 5lb lower in June and is capable if putting her best foot forward. Prince Cleni is fancied to beat Janeslittlevoice to third spot.

If the blinkers work a second time YA KNOW YASEFF stands a good chance of defying a 7 lb penalty for Worcester. Sharp Note is feared most back at the scene of her win in June.

If YA KNOW YASEFF can repeat last week's Worcester form then that may be sufficient.

(4) Something To Do 125/1, Twice-raced colt. 100/1, last of 11 in minor event at Windsor (6f, good) 28 days ago. Big step forward needed.

LTO Selection:

14:55 Brighton Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having hit the frame on both of his starts, Jack Channon would appear to have found MIGUEL the ideal opportunity to open his account. The Phoenix Of Spain colt is preferred to Happy Place, whose Epsom debut was not without promise. Peter Chapple-Hyam has been ticking along nicely this campaign, and any market support for his newcomer Gregorina would make her of interest.

Having shaped well in a couple of Chepstow maidens, MIGUEL is very much the one to beat. Newcomers Medician Star and Gregorina both make some appeal on paper and it will be interesting to see how they shape up in the betting, while Happy Place's debut effort at Epsom was not devoid of promise and she shouldn't be far away.

This looks a good opportunity for MIGUEL, who sets a clear standard on his latest third at Chepstow and is open to more progress.

Back over fences and cheekpieces go on for handicap bow.
Two fair runs over fences; 19l fourth in a claiming hurdle latest; headgear now tried.
LTO Selection:

15:05 Perth Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A DIFFERENT KIND made it three victories in a row when scoring in comfortable fashion over C&D last month and despite giving away 17lb and upwards to both his rivals, the six-year-old is expected to be a cut above the opposition. Clondaw Hollow may benefit from first-time cheekpieces following a below-par effort in a claiming hurdle at Bellewstown. Haribo Collonges is 18lb out of the handicap and has plenty to find on his chasing bow.

A DIFFERENT KIND is getting better with each start over fences and this looks an excellent opportunity for Donald McCain's 6-y-o to extend his winning sequence to 4. Clondaw Hollow can chase him home.

Duly followed up with another sound front-running display in a Warwick handicap (21f, good to firm) later that month and, though absent since, he could be dangerous granted another soft lead.

(4) Six And Out 18/1, Runner-up all 3 starts in bumper and jumped with greater fluency than on his hurdles debut when third in of 8 in a Stratford novice (18.7f, soft) recently. If able to build on that he should pick up a race before long, but he'll probably find this a shade too competitive.

Buck Of Maine

100/1(-100%)
(5) Buck Of Maine 100/1, From a good French family and showed promise when third of 6 in a Plumpton bumper on debut. However, he has failed to build on that since, offering little in 2 starts since switched to hurdles.
Return to drier ground may suit but still looks up against it in this company.
LTO Selection:

15:15 Newton Abbot Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

THE GALAHAD KID was no match for an improving rival at Bangor three weeks ago, but he had been on a steep upward curve previously. A first-time tongue-tie is applied and Fergal O'Brien's seven-year-old can resume his progression. Way Out arrives in search of a hat-trick having struck at Fakenham and Warwick in May. He merits respect on his return from a break, while All The Glory would firmly enter the reckoning if turned out quickly following her costly defeat at Stratford on Saturday.

Provided he's ready to roll following a break, WAY OUT may well complete the hat-trick. The 6-y-o raised his game when landing a Warwick handicap in decisive fashion on his latest start in May and, likely to be allowed to do his own thing out in front, he could take some pegging back round here. The Galahad Kid is likely to pose the biggest threat given that Six And Out needs to improve a chunk and, moreover, All The Glory isn't certain to go to post following her odds-on defeat on Saturday.

If ALL THE GLORY goes again after running on Saturday she might well provide the answer, as Stratford's race didn't see the best of her.

15:20 Galway Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ALVANIY could be the answer to a tricky race. He was a market mover in Galway last month, but came in fifth. That was his first run since switching to Willie Mullins, though, who drops him back in trip now. Notably, he was runner-up in a Ballinrobe bumper over a similar trip to this one for his former trainer. Harley Street is a former Curragh maiden winner who must have been showing up well at home as he made his debut in a Grade 3 juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse in February where he finished last of five. He was off for a long time before reappearing with a second-place finish in a Down Royal maiden hurdle at the start of the month and will strip fitter for that run. Hashtag Pretender showed plenty of promise when second in a maiden hurdle at Killarney last month. He wasn't at his best in subsequent placed runs at Roscommon and Tramore, but a return to better ground should aid his cause. Walmix and Smokey Putnum are others to consider.

The way HARLEY STREET loomed up over 2½m at Down Royal last time suggests this return to around 2m should suit and he's taken to strike at the third time of asking over hurdles. Alvaniy is another who may benefit from being dropped in trip and is second choice ahead of Barry Connell's Hashtag Pretender.

the vote goes to HASHTAG PRETENDER, no match for a Mullins-trained odds-on shot at Tramore but better judged on a Roscommon third

15:30 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A little over a length separated Line Of Fire (second) and Birkie Boy (third) when the pair met over C&D eight days ago and the former, who could find more for the addition of first-time blinkers, is taken to uphold the form. However, a chance is taken on DADAS BOY. David Loughnane's youngster showed precious little across his three qualifying runs, but the son of Invincible Army is related to a trio of winners and could improve for the switch to nurseries.

LINE OF FIRE finished strongly when runner-up over C&D recently and, if able to get into a better position in the early stages this time, she could easily go one better off the same mark with first-time blinkers enlisted. Mist of Lir and Birkie Boy both look rather exposed but showed enough on their latest starts to suggest that they should have parts to play.

It is hard to get away from LINE OF FIRE (nap), who was runner-up over C&D last time and did clear best of the closers in that race.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BEAUTY TO BEHOLD has been running consistently well from the spring onwards and went close to getting off the mark when third over C&D last time. This doesn't appear to be a contest filled with much depth and the six-year-old may be able to take advantage. Morandi Second is open to improvement on just his fifth start over hurdles, and placed in a novice handicap at Doncaster in January. Others to note are Prince Nino and Solway Molly.

DOT COTTON has yet to get her head in front but went strongly for a long way when fifth at Cartmel last time and can capitalise on a 3 lb lower mark back in trip now. Fellow maiden Beauty To Behold is feared most on the back of her good recent C&D third, with Solway Molly and Ultra Violet appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

15:50 Newton Abbot Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

INVESTMENT MANAGER powered clear of his rivals over C&D to record back-to-back victories and a further 5lb hike in the handicap might not be enough to stop the progressive Joe Tizzard-trained gelding from rounding out his hat-trick. Frankie Faulkner wasn't disgraced on his fencing bow at Fontwell and is entitled to improve for that experience, while Opening Bid is most appealing of the remainder.

Although INVESTMENT MANAGER has had consistency issues in the past, Joe Tizzard's 7-y-o has won 3 of his last 6 starts and this represents a good opportunity to enhance that record further and bring up a quick-fire course hat-trick. He can get the better of Opening Bid, who rattled off a hat-trick this summer and can put a lesser effort behind him. Frankie Faulkner can fill out third spot.

15:55 Galway Handicap Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Handicap debutant Tomas O Maille would have a major chance on slower ground, after giving best in third in the closing stages of a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle, but there is precious little rain in the forecast. COZONE is taken to cope with the drop in trip that he encounters here. He wasn't beaten far into second at Downpatrick and into third in Sligo which gives him stronger claims than most. As he is well versed over further, he ought to be finishing well up the stiff hill in Galway now that he has hit form. Realism was third in a Group 3 on good ground on the Flat. He hasn't been placed in five outings over hurdles, but did perform better in fifth in Down Royal at the start of the month.

REALISM caught the eye when an improved fifth on his Down Royal reappearance 10 days ago and can build on that promise now, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Listentillitellyea could pose the chief threat if bouncing back to the level of his penultimate Ballinrobe second. Tomas O Maille and Makfils are others to consider, while Kitsilano is a possible improver in handicaps.

Some useful bumper and maiden hurdle form gives TOMAS O MAILLE a solid each-way chance in his first handicap

16:05 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The key to this race could be last week's clash here between CONTROL (second) and No Diggity (third), and John Butler's filly is taken to come out on top again, especially with the step up from 1m2f expected to suit. She can get off the mark at the 18th time of asking, with the unexposed Storm Valley looking best placed to chase them home.

CONTROL just failed here a week ago but can gain compensation off an unchanged mark and finally shed her maiden tag. Storm Valley wasn't seen to best effect when fifth at Windsor last time and rates the chief threat ahead of C&D scorer No Diggity and Yarmouth-third Dee's Dream.

John Butler's CONTROL had a near-miss over 1m2f here last Monday and has strong claims if she can repeat that form back up in trip.

16:15 Perth Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WELL PLANTED struck the woodwork in a warm class 2 event over C&D last month and Mike Smith's charge is fancied to go one better, despite a subsequent 3lb hike in the ratings. Rakhine State reverts to timber following a commanding win over the larger obstacles here. He's 6lb lower than for his last hurdles success and could prove to be the main danger, although the consistent Lisa Harrison pair Malangen and Dalileo are also worth noting.

RAKHINE STATE gained a first success over fences at this course last time and he remains on a workable mark as he reverts to hurdling. He is taken to enhance his trainer's excellent strike rate at this course, with Well Planted feared most having been in good form at this C&D of late. LTO Selection:

16:25 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

SLATE LANE has been well placed by Emmet Mullins to justify short prices at Cartmel and on his handicap debut at Bangor, and he can improve for this further step up in distance to defy a 10lb higher mark. Go Chique bounced back to form at Market Rasen and she should go well off only 3lb higher. Mr Yeats has been unlucky to finish second on each of his last four outings and he could get into contention again in a first-time visor.

SLATE LANE arrives firmly on the up for Emmet Mullins and a 10 lb hike in the weights doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from completing a hat-trick judged on his easy Bangor success. Mr Yeats is feared most in his bid to follow up last year's victory, with Go Chique and Valentino also in the picture.

LTO Selection:

16:30 Galway Conditions Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SEDDON can take advantage of being best in at the weights. He ran up a four-timer between October and April and among those victories was the Plate at the Cheltenham Festival and a Grade B handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. A recent run in a qualified riders' race at Killarney should have blown away the cobwebs. An Mhi sealed a four-timer over flights when obliging in Downpatrick last month. He faces a tough task at the weights, but is more than adept on decent ground. Winter Fog has the highest rating on 147 which entitles him to plenty of respect, however, he is more vulnerable on better ground. He was a beaten favourite in fourth at Kilbeggan in August. Happy Jacky was much improved in second in a quality handicap hurdle at Killarney which gives him a shot at prize money.

SEDDON should be spot on for this after a recent spin on the Flat and can enhance his excellent strike-rate since joining John McConnell. If Happy Jacky is in the same form as when second at Killarney last time he may give the selection most to do ahead of the progressive An Mhi.

Having run a fine race on Flat bow last time at Killarney after a break, SEDDON(nap) is well-treated at these weights and can score.

LTO Selection:

16:40 Brighton Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Charlie Fellowes stable can do little wrong at present and this looks like an ideal opportunity for REFLEX to get off the mark, having been placed on his last two starts over shorter. The step up in trip is a major plus and he can see off the likes of recent Chelmsford third Kodiman and Mogwai, who has been runner-up on her last two outings.

A case can be made for all of these but the most persuasive one is for KODIMAN who didn't enjoy the rub of the green when third at Chelmsford City and can gain compensation off an unchanged mark. Swing To The Stars also wasn't seen to best effect when third at Epsom last time and can have a say too, with Mogwai and Shalfa also considered.

This looks a tight contest but Ed Dunlop's lightly raced filly LUCIDITY gets the vote ahead of Swing To The Stars.

LTO Selection:

16:47 Perth Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Sean Bowen retains the partnership with Gordon Elliott's THEMANINTHEBOOTS having recorded back-to-back course successes over hurdles on him recently, and the progressive five-year-old can land his hat-trick provided forecast ground conditions are no issue. Wasdell Dundalk and Saint Arvans are at contrasting ends of the handicap, but both are more than capable of making their presence felt. Petrastar and Stylish Moment arrive with a bit to prove.

This race revolves around THEMANINTHEBOOTS, who has struggled in a handful of maiden chases in Ireland but makes his handicap debut in this sphere on the back of a couple of pretty decisive performances over hurdles here. He's clearly going the right way and, if the drying ground doesn't pose a problem and his jumping holds up, he will surely prove hard to beat. Wasdell Dundalk, Petrastar and Saint Arvans, all C&D winners, are feared most in that order of preference.

5yo THEMANINTHEBOOTS has won over hurdles here the last twice and is a big player if he can transfer his progress back to this sphere.

LTO Selection:

16:55 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GOLDEN DELITE didn't make the impact expected on his first start for Mick Appleby at Ffos Las having been purchased for 130,000gns at Tattersalls July after his second at Newmarket. A repeat of that effort on the July Course would make him a tough nut to crack on his handicap debut here, though. Robusto produced a solid effort to finish third at Lingfield and is respected along with Krona.

ROBUSTO has been in good order and this doesn't look as competitive as the race he finished third in at Lingfield last time, so he's worth chancing on tapeta debut. Fellow 3yo Krona looks the main threat and Mrs Meader is expected to be back on her game.

Dual winner KRONA had a wide trip throughout before staying on too late in the day at Wolverhampton last week.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Saddlers Quest is in fine fettle at present, backing up her Uttoxeter success when digging deep to justify favouritism over this C&D, and another 6lb hike may not be enough to stop her from making her presence felt again. However, a chance is taken on WILDERNESS, who is rated 75 on the Flat and she now returns to this sphere on a comparatively lenient figure. Karannelle wasn't disgraced in fourth over C&D recently and she isn't out of it.

It's worth taking a chance on WILDERNESS back over hurdles as she's potentially very well treated off a basement mark in this sphere judged on the form she's capable of on the Flat. The hat-trick seeking Saddlers Quest is second choice ahead of Karannelle.

17:05 Galway Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BLACK TONIC unseated his rider when disputing the lead at the penultimate flight in Killarney. He is clearly on a dangerous mark of 93 and is sure to be popular. Dunleer Phoenix was beaten a fair way into third at Bellewstown, but that was in a higher grade so he is another threat. Father Jed and Tullyhogue Fort are two of the more likely contenders among the remainder.

ROSSIES TARA can race off the same mark as when a good sixth in a big field at Tramore last time and with that form working out well she gets the vote. Getabelle is feared most on the back of her very good Cork second, with Black Tonic, Tullyhogue Fort and Onefortheditch all in the picture too.

BLACK TONIC could be up to getting off the mark if none the worse for his Killarney fall last time when looking sure to go close.

17:15 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CORELLIAN STAR was demoted a place to third on her handicap debut at Chepstow having wandered around in the closing stages and the application of blinkers for the first time might help the daughter of Cotai Glory. Imperiousity finally got his head in front on turf at Salisbury and enters calculations, while last week's C&D runner-up Secret Handsheikh is another with claims.

SECRET HANDSHEIKH looked a shade unlucky when narrowly outpointed over C&D last week and, granted better luck this time, he could be the answer. The 5-y-o may have most to fear from Imperiousity, who hit the target at Salisbury recently and has finished second on two of his three previous visits here. Lightly-raced maiden Corellian Star found just one too good on her handicap debut at Chepstow and should be thereabouts once again in a change of headgear.

An open race in which the vote goes to SECRET HANDSHEIKH, who didn't get any luck when a close second over C&D last Monday.

17:22 Perth Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PAMMI showed a bit more when finishing fourth, albeit well held, over C&D last month. Jim Goldie's Perth specialist has been eased 2lb in the handicap, leaving her 4lb below her last winning mark, and it would be no surprise were she to bounce back. Headscarf Lil is capable of going well and looks the pick of the Nicky Richards pair, while Miss Wachit could show more on her second start following wind surgery.

HEADSCARF LIL has remained in decent heart since winning at Market Rase and NIcky Richards' mare makes most appeal in a contest where solid recent form is thin on the ground. Pammi has a good C&D record and ran better than for a while last time, with Millie of Mayo a very modest pick for third.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SPIRIT OF ASH's only career victory to date came over C&D in June and the drop back in trip following her recent effort at Hamilton, combined with the tongue-tie being reapplied, may help her bounce back to form. Ice Shadow is better than his latest performance at Beverley suggests and the four-year-old is capable of a decent showing, while Calcutta Dream and Irv appeal most of the remainder.

Top-weight ICE SHADOW was given an overly aggressive ride at Beverley last month but had been in good form prior, including when scoring at Nottingham, so Alan Brown's gelding makes most appeal. Irv appeals as being potentially well treated and also merits respect, with the lightly-weighted Zakram another to consider.

Preference is for SPIRIT OF ASH, who won a similar event here on her sole Tapeta start. Balqaa is second choice.

17:35 Newton Abbot NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Any market support for newcomer Johnnie River should be noted, but JUKEBOX ANNIE makes the most appeal, in the anticipation that she is likely to be much better behaved on her second outing. This is a really weak bumper and she's not going to get many better opportunities than this to score. Bradford Lady and Who's Sorry Now can follow that pair home.

JOHNNIE RIVER is out of a Flat winner and makes his debut in a decidedly weak contest, so he's worth taking a chance on. The other trio are yet to show anything but Bradford Lady might do a bit better than her first couple of outings.

It's difficult to envisage a weaker bumper. BRADFORD LADY has shown enough in her two runs to believe she can take care of these.

17:40 Galway Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MILFORDFOURTHREE reverted from fences when a promising fourth to Emily In Paris in a mares maiden hurdle over a similar trip at Killarney last time, and a reproduction of that form would see her go close. Nuttorridge has put together a trio of consistent efforts at Downpatrick this summer and now replaces cheekpieces with blinkers, while Amazing Amy, Delias Pet, Ballagh Star, Roman Parish and recent Sligo winner Sittingonthefence are others to consider.

The vote goes to NUTTORRIDGE, who has been knocking on the door of late and perhaps the first-time blinkers will help eke out a little more. Delias Pet caught the eye when fourth at Ballinrobe a fortnight ago (unlucky not to finish closer) and she is next on the list ahead of Amazing Amy, who has found just one too good on each of her last two starts. Jacks Fancy and Great Rainbow are both open to improvement now handicapping.

BLUE IN THE WEST is worth chancing with improvement likely from his handicap debut at Tramore.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Turquoise Diamond missed the break on her handicap bow at Epsom before finishing fifth and the William Haggas-trained filly appears capable of taking a step forward from that display. However, despite meeting the reopposing winner MOONDIAL on 2lb better terms, it would be no surprise to see that rival confirm the form as she seeks a third win from her last four starts. The return to 7f may benefit Major Gatsby and he completes the shortlist.

Although TURQUOISE DIAMOND was behind Moondial at Epsom last time there were excuses and she's given another chance to show she can do better in handicaps for her leading stable. The Kublers' filly can follow her home.

Moondial beat TURQUOISE DIAMOND at Epsom but the latter is still unexposed and may be able to turn the tables here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MIASWELL ran with a fair amount of promise when filling the runner-up spot at Thirsk and the son of Gleneagles has been found a suitable opportunity to go one better. Chiefman was no match for a potentially smart type at Ffos Las and the step up in trip is likely to aid his cause, while Speed Court and newcomer Amasar can fight it out for the minor honours.

MIASWELL shaped nicely on debut and should have enough progress in him to account for this opposition. That said, Speed Court is quite closely matched with the selection in form terms and Placeholder looks a notable newcomer for a shrewd yard, so it's by no means a formality.

Experience may count here. SPEED COURT, Miaswell and Chiefman were all beaten by good prospects on their latest starts.

LTO Selection:

18:15 Galway Maiden Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ANNEXATION has five career wins having scored three times on the Flat and twice over hurdles and is an interesting recruit to fences. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding is well suited by a sound surface and is sure to be well schooled. Riding arrangements suggest Calico is preferred of Gordon Elliott's pair. The four-year-old filly has won three times over hurdles this year and receives 17lb from the selection. Kiki Badger and point-to-point winner Rexem are others to consider. The latter gained both hurdle wins when making all over staying trips last year and switched to fences last month when runner-up at Wexford before headed after the last at Downpatrick.

Armed with a significant 4-y-o allowance, CALICO will take some stopping if she makes a good shape over fences at the first attempt. She has won three times over hurdles this year and went close in a Ballinrobe handicap a fortnight ago. Annexation is another starting out in this sphere on the back of a solid hurdles effort and is feared most ahead of Rexem, who is the clear pick of the handful of those with chase experience.

The weight allowance for four-year-olds gives CALICO good prospects if she can jump well enough on her first attempt over fences

18:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LADY OF THE GARR has shown a bit of promise since joining the Tracy Waggott team and she must hold every chance if building upon decent efforts over C&D and at Catterick. The daughter of Mehmas remains open to improvement and she gets the vote ahead of Hooray For Hazel and Polly The Rocket, who could be dangerous for an in-form yard.

The market will no doubt prove informative with the majority making their handicap bow, but the tentative vote goes to HOORAY FOR HAZEL, who promised more than she delivered on her first start in a nursery at Catterick 3 weeks ago but now has first-time cheekpieces applied for her all-weather debut. Polly The Rocket, My Lady Samantha and Havana Prince are just a handful of others worth considering.

In a tricky nursery, the suggestion is POLLY THE ROCKET ahead of Tees Warrior.

18:45 Galway Handicap Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

IRIDESCENT has returned in good form this summer winning over hurdles at Ballinrobe before scoring over fences at Downpatrick and again last time at Wexford when beating Downtown Queen (won since). He's gone up a combined total of 17lb for those two chase victories but on the plus side is in a rich vein of form and well suited by this trip. Norwigi has similar claims having won at both Roscommon and Killarney last month and any rain will help his cause. Slige Dala is without a win in three years since completing a hat-trick (2 bumpers/maiden hurdle) but has dropped down to an attractive mark and was placed last time when fitted with cheek pieces at Ballinrobe. Carrig Sam has joined Gavin Cromwell and would be a danger to all if putting in a clear round.

IRIDESCENT did well to score at Wexford last time given he was dropped back in trip and can defy a 9 lb hike in the weights now his stamina is drawn out more. Takarengo is weighted to have a big say and next on the list ahead of Slige Dala and Glenquin Castle.

The runner-up from the race that IRIDESCENT won last time at Wexford won nicely since at the same course, so he can notch another win

19:00 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The step up in trip can work the oracle for DREAM FINAL as he tries to improve upon a pair of creditable efforts here over shorter. The form of his stable is another plus and, in first-time blinkers, he might have too much for Aurora Glory, who may be a maiden after 11 starts but surely has a race in her. Hidden Code has the form to get involved in proceedings as well.

In a contest that is unlikely to take much winning, DREAM FINAL gets the verdict to make a winning return after 8 months off with first-time blinkers applied for his in-form yard. Aurora Glory and Hidden Code can chase the selection home in that order.

Hidden Code and Aurora Glory are two of the main form contenders but the much less exposed DREAM FINAL is more appealing.

19:15 Galway NH Flat Race 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

THEFLYINGBEE ran a cracker on debut when finishing strongly to beat all bar the gambled-on Fortunate Lighting over C&D at the Festival meeting this summer with Shannon Bank, also having her first run, close up in fourth. The Finbarr Hand-trained mare should have learned from that experience while the same remark may also apply to Jack Martin who was having his first ride on that occasion. Just For Love is an obvious threat from the powerful Mullins yard and she's out of an unraced sister to a list of smart types including Outlander and Western Leader. Final Escape is a half-sister to five winners including Final Assault, while Westerhope and Highland Dew are other newcomers to note in the market.

JUST FOR LOVE is from a good family and represents a top stable, so there's every chance she can open her account at the first time of asking in a thin race. Theflyingbee and Shannon Bank should pose the biggest threats.

The Willie Mullins-trained newcomer Just For Love could be hard to beat but THEFLYINGBEE shaped with promise at the festival

19:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LAERTES showed enough on his stable debut at Chelmsford to suggest that he has slipped to a reasonable mark, and going back up in distance could be the key to him breaking his maiden at the 12th attempt. A winner at Wolverhampton in July, Show Compassion is a key player, along with Blackcurrent, who has placed at Southwell on his last two starts. Others to note include Magic Gem and Mumcat.

LAERTES had little go right when well backed on his stable debut last time and Mick Appleby's gelding is very much worth another chance, now 8 lb lower than when second at Chelmsford in the spring. Show Compassion chased home a prominently-ridden pair at Wolverhampton on her latest outing and rates as the main danger, with Blackcurrent and Mumcat others to consider.

Off a reduced mark back over 6f, LAERTES may be able to open his account. Mai Alward is second choice.

NAZCA is two out of two since returning to the all-weather, with the latest of those victories coming at Wolverhampton by a neck, for which he has been raised 4lb. The four-year-old could continue his recent progression to record a treble. The main threat might be Noble Captain, who made the frame at Southwell and looks sure to go well once more off 1lb lower. Of the remainder, Eyes makes the most appeal after her fifth at Yarmouth.

LUPSET FLOSSY POP produced her best effort of the season when third at Southwell a fortnight ago and, having won off an 11 lb higher mark at this C&D last year, she could be ready to return to winning ways. Nazca arrives bidding for a hat-trick and isn't taken lightly, with Deputise completing the shortlist.

The drop to sprinting has worked a treat for NAZCA (nap), who can make it 3-3 over 6f. Zegos Surprise is second choice.

Glorious Rio (second) had Aconcagua Mountain (third) just behind on his penultimate start at Ayr and he is fancied to confirm those placings, even on 1lb worse terms.

GLORIOUS RIO has been heading back in the right direction of late and he can build on his recent placed efforts to land a fourth C&D success. He is taken to get the better of the consistent Latin Five, while Lady Celia has been in good heart for her current yard and is another to consider.

The return to Tapeta is a likely positive for URBAN DANDY and he earns the vote ahead of the in-form Glorious Rio.
