(7) Na Scoitear 14/1, Modest gelding. Cheekpieces on for first time, respectable second of 7 in handicap at Musselburgh (9f, good to firm, 16/1) 22 days ago, no match for winner.

Andromedas Kingdom

5/1(-11%)
(1) Andromedas Kingdom 5/1, Modest mare. Fourth of 13 in minor event (9/2) at Catterick (7f, good) 43 days ago, typically slowly away and finished with running left. Risky proposition.
0-15 and very slow starts are a problem, but she did well to finish fourth last time out.

Rajawail

100/1(-52%)
(9) Rajawail 100/1, Poor filly. Fifth of 7 in handicap (66/1) at Ripon (12f, good) 72 days ago. Back down in trip. Blinkers on first time. Plenty to find on form.

Hidden Code

(6) Hidden Code 7/1, Fair gelding. Creditable second of 6 in maiden (4/1) at Newcastle (8f) 9 days ago. Has had a few chances but this looks an excellent opening.

Pete The Brief

10/3(+0%)
(8) Pete The Brief 10/3, Modest gelding. 12/1, career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Redcar (8f, good to firm) 39 days ago. More to recommend him than most.
Won at Redcar last month and this lightly raced 3yo is a strong candidate.
LTO Selection:

13:50 Beverley Stakes (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PETE THE BRIEF appeared to relish a step up in trip when winning over the mile at Redcar last month and the unexposed Bungle Inthejungle gelding, who has previously run well around here, is taken to double his tally from just 3lb higher. Jewel Of Kabeir finished a creditable fourth at Carlisle and a similar performance would bring her firmly into the reckoning. Andromedas Kingdom heads the remainder.

HIDDEN CODE ran right up to form when second at Newcastle last week and he probably won't get a better chance to open his account on these terms. Pete The Brief made his first start over 1m a winning one at Redcar last time and is the obvious threat.

The lightly raced 3yo PETE THE BRIEF got off the mark in a handicap at Redcar last month and is taken to follow up.

Harb

10/3(+45%)
(5) Harb 10/3, In good form prior to failing to get home at Brighton (8f, good) 6 weeks ago. Significantly back down in trip and is a must for the shortlist returned to this grade.
Yet to win on turf but handles soft and return to sprinting should be in favour.
2
2nd (6) Bang On The Bell (5/1 +33%)
Bang On The Bell

5/1(+33%)
(6) Bang On The Bell 5/1, Capitalised on falling mark when scoring at Nottingham (5f, good to soft) last month but had little go right when down the field at Wolverhampton (5.1f) subsequently. 4 lb higher returned to turf and others look to have stronger claims.
Below best on AW last time but may do better from lower turf mark back on grass.
3
3rd (8) Firenze Rosa (10/1 -25%)
Firenze Rosa

10/1(-25%)
(8) Firenze Rosa 10/1, Opened her account for the year having dropped back down to last winning mark at Lingfield (6f, heavy) last month and possibly found the race coming too soon under a penalty 5 days on at Salisbury next time. Freshened up since, so could have a say in proceedings.
Handles a sound surface but wasn't at best last time; may do better back on soft ground.
4
4th (1) Exquisitely (4/1 -78%)
Exquisitely

4/1(-78%)
(1) Exquisitely 4/1, Opened account at seventh attempt, on debut for new yard, when landing 4-runner handicap at Ffos Las (5f, heavy) last month. Ran at least as well in defeat when going down by a nose at Goodwood since and she should be bang there once again.
Improved form after four-month break on last two starts; likely to go well once again.

Papabella

16/1(+20%)

Mary Of Modena

6/1(-33%)
(4) Mary Of Modena 6/1, Returned to form when narrowly taking 5-runner handicap at Newmarket last month and wasn't disgraced attempting to follow up when third at Goodwood (5f, good) 20 days later. Can give another good account.
Decent strike-rate on turf and likes soft ground; bit to find with Exquisitely on last run.
7th
7th (2) Trusty Rusty (7/2 +42%)
Trusty Rusty

7/2(+42%)
(2) Trusty Rusty 7/2, In good nick on AW last winter but has finished well held on both recent starts on turf (latest in a better race than she need contest over C&D). Has been dropped 3 lb and with Murphy an eye-catching booking, there's every chance she will be in the mix back in class 5 company.
Multiple turf/AW winner but best form has been on AW or better ground; others preferred.
LTO Selection:

13:55 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EXQUISITELY has stepped forward since joining her current stable, following a win at Ffos Las with a last-gasp Goodwood defeat. She appears to have more to offer and is expected to confirm her latest effort with Mary Of Modena. The latter has scored twice on soft ground this season, though, and still commands plenty of respect, while others to note include Firenze Rosa and Bang On The Bell.

A tricky opener to solve but a chance is taken on TRUSTY RUSTY, who is back in a more suitable grade and with the booking of Oisin Murphy catching the eye, Tony Carroll's 6-y-o gets the nod to record her sixth career success. Exquisitely has taken her form up a notch since joining Jonny Portman so she may emerge as the main danger, ahead of Harb, who should give a good account back sprinting.

This can go to EXQUISITELY, who has shown improved form on her last two starts and should have no problems with the ground.

9/1(-13%)
(4) Bonkersinabundance 9/1, Doubled career tally at Brighton in July. Unable to continue the good work since, eighth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 19 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Drop in trip not certain to suit.

7th (1) Elusive Angel (5/2 -33%)
Elusive Angel

5/2(-33%)
(1) Elusive Angel 5/2, Placed all 4 starts, hampered at the start when third of 11 on handicap debut at Carlisle last month. One to consider for in-form yard.
Wasn't far away on handicap debut latest and 1lb drop won't do her cause any harm; player..
LTO Selection:

14:05 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Not beaten far when sent off favourite for her handicap debut at Carlisle last month, ELUSIVE ANGEL must hold every chance if building upon that effort and this looks like a perfect opportunity to break the maiden at the fifth time of asking. Stepping up in trip could bring about improvement in Alpine Girl, while Back Tomorrow is an unexposed sort who could be well treated on her handicap bow.

ELUSIVE ANGEL represents an in-form yard and she did well to finish third at Carlisle given she was hampered. There should be more to come on this her second handicap start so she gets the nod in favour of Alpine Girl, who will be suited by 6f, and Back Tomorrow.

Cheekpieces may help BACK TOMORROW shrug off a lesser recent effort and if so, she could be on a lenient initial mark.

14:10 Listowel Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

VADSA QUEEN was a useful sort in bumpers, filling the runner-up spot at the Punchestown Festival and scoring in convincing fashion at Tramore. The Willie Mullins-trained mare has been soundly beaten on both outings since, including when switched to hurdles at Sligo last time. She dropped away after making a mistake three out and is given another chance in what appears a modest enough maiden. Wisteria Bloom went close in a Perth bumper 12 months ago and while without a run since, is an interesting recruit to hurdles. Ballycallan King attracted the attention of the stewards when second to Timourid in a Roscommon maiden on his penultimate start, while point-to-point winner River Vale and Missus Beeton are others to consider.

Bumper winner VADSA QUEEN disappointed making her hurdling debut at Sligo 4 weeks ago but she was well supported that day, so Willie Mullins' 5-y-o is worth another chance in a race that looks to contain plenty of dead wood. Missus Beeton ran a cracker at a huge price at Bellewstown 3 weeks ago and she would be a huge threat if translating that form back in maiden company, with Wisteria Bloom and Ballycallan King another couple to consider.

Maybe it would be wise to forgive VADSA QUEEN for her poor run on hurdling debut, considering that she was the best of these in bumpers

14:20 Beverley Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Richard Hughes can do little wrong at present and Miss Anya, runner-up on two of her three career starts, is unlikely to be far away. Willolarupi brings a similar level of form to the table and it would be no surprise were he to play a leading role, though marginal preference is for ROGUE ENFORCER. The son of Profitable was able to build on a promising debut when filling the runner-up spot at Ripon and this might be good opportunity to go one better.

MISS ANYA is going the right way and with the drop to 5f, particularly on this stiff track, not expected to be an issue, she can get off the mark at the fourth attempt. Rogue Enforcer and Willolarupi are feared most.

The filly MISS ANYA has shown pace when runner-up over 6f the last twice and is taken to capitalise on the drop in trip.

14:30 Sandown Maiden (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ralph Beckett has enjoyed a strong season with his juveniles and WHISKEY PETE appears more than capable of shedding his maiden tag at the third attempt. Bred to stay well, as a half-brother to Candleford and Atty Persse, he has made the frame at Newmarket and Haydock, and the stiffer test of stamina on this occasion is likely to yield further progression. Kingdom Of Time finished fourth at Newmarket on debut and is entitled to step forward with a tongue-tie now applied. Dambuster boasts a smart pedigree and has to be respected, as does Always A Star.

Despite failing to land the odds at Haydock last month, WHISKEY PETE ran another promising race and with that contest working out well, he's more than capable of winning a maiden. The step up to 1m is sure to suit Superposition and he's a threat, with 750,000 gns Kingman newcomer Dambuster an obvious type on paper.

The best option among those who have raced looks to be WHISKEY PETE, given he has assured stamina and the best form.

14:40 Yarmouth Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A promising runner-up on her introduction over C&D last month, RUN FOR THE SUN may well set the standard on form and the booking of Robert Havlin is another plus. She might have too much for Al Hujaija, who was narrowly denied at Windsor last time out, as well as newcomer Lou Lou's Gift, a half-sister to Group 3 winner Mighty Ulysses. Romantic Style cost 550,000gns and is open to improvement on the back of a satisfactory debut effort at Newbury.

The excellent record of the William Haggas yard with newcomers in this race swings the vote the way of LOU LOU'S GIFT, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Run For The Sun and Romantic Style should have more to offer on the back of promising debuts and are feared most ahead of the more established Al Hujaija.

Godolphin's ROMANTIC STYLE came home well on debut and is taken to begin to justify her hefty price tag this time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BIALYSTOK won twice over hurdles earlier this year, including a competitive handicap at the Punchestown Festival, and was beaten less than six lengths on his only run since behind stablemate Zarak The Brave in the Galway Hurdle. This looks a good opportunity to regain the winning thread. Broomfield Bijou also won a handicap at the Punchestown Festival and, like The Wallpark, is on a hat-trick. The Gordon Elliott-trained bumper winner steps into handicap company after taking a Killarney maiden last month. Sherodan was second in a Listed novice hurdle at the Galway Festival before easily landing the odds in a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle last month.

BIALYSTOK ran to another high figure when seventh in the Galway Hurdle last month and back in novice company, he should take some stopping. Broomfield Bijou is going the right way and receives weight all round so she's a threat, with The Wallpark also of interest defending an unbeaten record for Gordon Elliott.

Galway Hurdle seventh BIALYSTOK(nap) sets a decent standard and can master Sherodan, second in a Listed novice hurdle at Galway

LTO Selection:

14:55 Beverley Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Lovely Masar makes enough appeal on paper to warrant a market check ahead of her debut, as does the Charlie Johnston-trained You'vemetyourmatch. Sovereign Queen belied odds of 100/1 when filling the runner-up spot at Leicester and any further improvement would put her in the mix. However, the vote goes to HUG A TREE. Michael Bell's filly produced two solid efforts over sprint trips earlier this season, but this step up in trip could hold the key.

CLOUDY SKYE showed improved form despite still looking very green when third over C&D last month so gets the vote with more to come. May pulled clear of the rest when an improved fourth at Chelmsford so is another to consider, while Lovely Masar is a newcomer to note.

Preference is for LOCAL ARMS, whose sire and dam won on soft ground. Her debut effort gave cause for optimism that she can win this.

LTO Selection:

15:05 Sandown Stakes (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

THE LINE made a promising start to his career when third over 5f at Ascot in May and the son of Caravaggio, who has been gelded since, is expected to benefit from stepping up in trip, given the manner of his finishing effort. Navy Jack was disappointing when a beaten favourite at Newbury, but he is better judged on his C&D second the time before. Winterfair, whose dam is a half-sister to Camelot, and Duke's Command appeal most of the newcomers.

NAVY JACK's standout effort came when runner-up in a C&D maiden under similar conditions and he sets a decent standard if able to repeat that. Winterfair holds an entry in the Fillies' Mile so is a newcomer to note, with Duke's Command another likely type.

Kings Valley may prove the pick of those who have run but newcomers DUKE'S COMMAND and Winterfair look good on paper.

15:10 Yarmouth Maiden (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A chance is taken with 200,000-euro newcomer EDGE OF BLUE, whose Group 3-winning half-sister struck on debut, and the Godolphin youngster is a son of leading first-season sire Blue Point. His stable has an excellent record here and he gets the vote ahead of Spaceport and Global Skies, who was behind a smart winner when a promising fourth on debut at Newmarket. Joycean Way and Reaching High are others to consider.

EDGE OF BLUE is related to several winners and with a top yard that often has it's newcomers ready to go at this track, so he's preferred to Joycean Way, who also makes plenty of appeal on paper. Global Skies looks the pick of those with experience.

It could be significant that William Buick has rejected Honest Desire (who ran quite well on his debut) to partner EDGE OF BLUE.

Call The Tune and PEACHES AND CREAM filled the minor places behind My Design in a similar event at the Galway Festival. The Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding stays all day having won a valuable 3m7f handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival in 2022 and can reverse those Galway placings as he was sidelined for a year and remains on a decent mark over hurdles. Moonovercloon has been in good form this year, winning at Downpatrick and Sligo, and still held every chance when falling at the last over 2m4f here on Monday. Scarpia recorded a third career win over a similar trip at Worcester before being bought out of Nicky Henderson's yard for 14,000 pounds at Doncaster last month. Foxfire Glow and Hand Over Fist are both on a hat-trick, while Mister Beeton and the veteran Dorans River also come here in good form.

FOXFIRE GLOW is on a steep upward curve and had something to spare when landing a novice at Tramore a month ago, so he gets the nod ahead of Call The Tune and Mister Beeton, who were both runner-up on their latest outing.

With the possibility of heavy rain turning the ground testing, it could pay to side with CALL THE TUNE.

LADY NUNTHORPE didn't get the clearest of runs when looking to challenge in a C&D nursery last month and granted a clearer passage this time around, she may be able to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. That could come at the main expense of Reprised, who showed some promise on her debut at Southwell. A half-sister to smart handicapper Spangled Mac, newcomer Gloves must enter calculations, along with Sandown fifth Enchanting.

LADY NUNTHORPE is the one to beat on the form she showed when third in a C&D nursery last month, though she doesn't set the bar that high so it would be no surprise were once-raced pair Enchanting and/or Reprised to improve past her. George Boughey newcomer Gloves would also come into it should the betting suggest she's fancied.

Karl Burke's filly REPRISED showed some promise first time out and is taken to build markedly on that and score.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GAME BEAAA was value for further than her length-and-a-quarter success at Market Rasen last month and the six-year-old should prove a tough nut to crack off only 5lb higher. Fathers Advice ran one of his better races of the season when denied by a neck at Cartmel and a 2lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid. He may emerge as the chief threat, ahead of Ambassador, who has combined well with a 10lb conditional in the past.

FATHERS ADVICE has yet to win a race but he didn't do a lot wrong when runner-up from his reduced mark at Cartmel 3 weeks ago and if he's in that sort of mood again, he may well go one place better. Game Beaaa wasn't winning out of turn at Market Rasen but she did it nicely, with Our Marty another to consider fitted with cheekpieces.

With a good course record, IOLANI might be worth chancing.

Chindit was a commanding winner of the Superior Mile at Haydock but while he merits respect, Richard Hannon's entire might struggle to concede 9lb to the unexposed KNIGHT. The son of Mehmas was collared late on in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood but first-time cheekpieces could eke out further improvement, and he won the Horris Hill in testing ground around this time last year. The returning Sir Busker can follow the pair home.

KNIGHT produced a really smart performance when second in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood last time and is taken to make the most of the weight he receives from recent Haydock Group 3 scorer Chindit. Last year's 2000 Guineas fourth Eydon would also enter the reckoning if the betting vibes are strong on his much-awaited return to the track.

A chance is taken that KNIGHT will benefit from the headgear, after it looked like he still had something to learn last time out.

The Gosden stable has landed three of the previous seven renewals of this contest, including 12 months ago, and AL ASIFAH could enhance that record further. The daughter of Frankel disappointed as an odds-on favourite for the Ribblesdale, but she was so impressive in a Goodwood Listed heat shortly prior to the Royal meeting and could still make up into a filly right out of the top drawer. Infinite Cosmos made the frame in the Musidora and is interesting on her return from a 126-day absence. Sapphire Seas, who seeks a four-timer following her successful handicap debut, is also noted.

Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and a good chance for the exciting AL ASIFAH to resume winning ways back from a break. Smart prospects Infinite Cosmos and Sapphire Seas are others to consider.

Al Asifah will rightly be popular but both La Isla Mujeres and SAPPHIRE SEAS make some appeal in opposition.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BRIDES HILL took on some useful sorts over fences last season before beating Telmesomethinggirl in a 2m6f Listed event at Thurles. She didn't get in a blow subsequently in Grade 1 company and it will be interesting to see how strong she is in the market having been absent for five months since an early fall at Perth. Heia was probably the pick of these over hurdles, including when fifth in the Galway Hurdle last year, and made a winning start over fences at Tramore this summer. My Design is a consistent sort and made most to take a 3m handicap hurdle at the Galway Festival before reverting to fences at Kilbeggan, when only headed after the last by Desertmore House. Effernock Fizz likes to force the pace and has been kept busy since winning over fences at Ludlow earlier this year.

BRIDES HILL comes with risks after a first-fence fall at Perth last time but boasts much the best form and gets the vote. Heia is better than she showed at Galway last month and is feared most.

If she can produce a performance in keeping with a Listed success at Thurls last winter BRIDES HILL may prove superior to Heia

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COUNT D'ORSAY has shown enough in recent starts to suggest that he can get his head back in front, and soft ground is a major plus. One of two in the field for Tim Easterby, the seven-year-old is only 1lb above his last winning mark and gets the vote ahead of narrow Ripon winner Ey Up It's Maggie and the hat-trick-seeking Rodborough, who reverts to turf and has the assistance of Hollie Doyle in the saddle again.

RODBOROUGH responded well to this headgear when winning at Southwell on her last 2 starts and looks up to completing the hat-trick if proving as good on turf. Sound Reason has disappointed since scoring over C&D in July but is only 1 lb above his last winning mark, while Count d'Orsay has been shaping well of late.

The suggestion is COUNT D'ORSAY (nap), who has conditions to suit and ran well from a poor draw at Chester last time.

16:05 Kelso Handicap Chase (Class 3) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Four-time course winner Cedar Hill always warrants a second look at this venue and is sure to prove popular having struck last time out at Perth. However, a 3lb rise may be enough to prevent him from completing a double, with GEROMINO making more appeal. Donald McCain's charge ran with much more encouragement when runner-up at Bangor and should appreciate the drop into, what is effectively, a 0-130 contest. Netywell likely has more to offer this season and also merits consideration.

GEROMINO stopped the slide having been freshened up by a 10-week break when runner-up at Bangor last month and looks ready to strike off a tempting mark. This does look competitive, though, with 4-time C&D winner Cedar Hill heading the dangers.

Course specialist CEDAR HILL (nap) won when last seen in June and can add another success.

LTO Selection:

16:15 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A step up in class wasn't enough to prevent the ultra-progressive EASTERN CHARM from completing a five-timer at Ripon and a further 3lb hike in the ratings might not be enough to stop William Haggas' filly from winning again. Classic Times sports a first-time hood and is a likely improver now switched to handicaps. Tango Tonight, who hit the crossbar here last month, is another to consider.

EASTERN CHARM continued her habit of just doing enough when scoring at Ripon earlier this month and remains fairly treated as a result. She can extend her winning run. Classic Times shaped well at Wolverhampton last month and is feared most on her handicap bow, whilst Film Star is also much respected.

Win number seven this season may well be on its way for EASTERN CHARM. The unexposed handicap newcomer Classic Times is feared most.

LTO Selection:

16:20 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 3) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

First Sight didn't give his running on his handicap debut at Newmarket in June, and the son of Dubawi has been given time off since. Fellow Godolphin representative Return To Dubai was a comfortable winner at Chelmsford and should have more to offer back on turf, but the vote goes to SCEPTIC. Second in a local Group 2 at Kinscem Park in Hungary earlier this month, Andrew Balding's charge had been contesting some warm handicaps prior to that and is fancied to get back on track from a seemingly workable mark.

Having been all the rage in the betting for his handicap debut, LORD BERTIE disappointed at Chester earlier this month but with that effort easy to put a line through (slowly away and lost a shoe), he's fancied to resume his progress back under softer conditions and stepped up in trip. Return To Dubai made a winning return from a lengthy absence last time so he heads up the dangers, with First Sight and Sceptic another couple fancied to feature.

He fluffed his lines at Chester but LORD BERTIE (nap) retains potential and can resume winning ways. Return To Dubai is next best.

16:25 Listowel Handicap Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Gordon Elliott fields seven horses and GEVREY ought to go well off a lovely light weight. The seven-year-old was only caught in the closing stages of the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse in April, and the cobwebs should be blown away after a third over hurdles in Kilbeggan last month. The rain in Listowel won't inconvenience him at all. Stealthy Tom has been shrewdly campaigned after landing a handicap chase at Killarney in May. He has been out once a month since then and has bagged the Connacht National in Roscommon before finishing runner-up in the Midlands National at Kilbeggan. Another victory came his way in a valuable handicap chase at Killarney last month and he looks a major player. Ain't That A Shame goes well fresh and was only 10/1 for the Aintree Grand National, where he finished unplaced. He was pipped by a head in the Munster National at Limerick last year. Ash Tree Meadow and Authorized Art, the first two home in the Galway Plate, have to be given plenty of respect. Salvador Ziggy has shown a real aptitude for chasing in winning his first three starts over fences, although this big field is a different kettle of fish.

SALVADOR ZIGGY has looked a terrific prospect in winning his 3 starts to date over fences and there's every chance he can prove himself to be ahead of a mark of 150. He's a confident choice but the likes of Ain't That A Shame and Authorized Art should ensure that it's not all plain sailing for the selection.

Gordon Elliott fields a big team and may strike with GEVREY the Irish Grand National runner-up who was given a hurdles run last month

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The William Haggas stable has a terrific record around here and this looks like an ideal opportunity for LOHENGRIN to get off the mark. Being a son of Ulysses, the step up in trip should be a major plus and he could have too much for Goodwood third Lope De Light and Man Of Monaco, who had Kintaro a couple of positions behind him when runner-up on debut at Carlisle.

LOPE DE LIGHT has shaped quite well in 2 recent outings and can make it third time lucky for a stable with a good record here. This trip should suit Lohengrin so he's second choice ahead of Charlie Johnston's Carlisle runner-up Man of Monaco.

The step up in trip could prompt a first win from LOHENGRIN, who has kept on nicely over 7f/1m on his first two starts.

16:40 Kelso Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The Big Jetaway would hold leading claims if back on song now hurdling again, but he has a bit to prove after weakening quickly in the latter stages of a handicap chase at Bangor. With that in mind, the vote goes to last-time-out Hexham winner IDEM, who has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and the rise from 2m could unlock further potential. Sean Og makes most appeal of the remainder.

IDEM had more in hand than the bare margin suggests when making a winning hurdles bow at Hexham and he looks up to defying a penalty back from a break in this company. Fellow-penalised winner The Big Jetaway is the obvious threat, though he does have to shake off a below-par run at Bangor.

The 5yo IDEM could be a fair prospect and should appreciate this trip.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BORN RULER won with plenty in hand over C&D last Friday and could make light work of a 6lb penalty. Star Ahoy, who has improved with each run, has been gelded since breaking through in a Pontefract maiden and may have more to come now entering handicaps off what looks a fair mark. He is feared most, ahead of Miss Dolly Rocker, who found only a progressive rival too strong in a competitive event at Chepstow.

BORN RULER has the look of a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver and he's fancied to supplement last week's C&D success under a penalty. Star Ahoy didn't need to improve to get off the mark at Pontefract last time and is much respected now switched into handicap company, whilst Outgun and In The Trenches both possess positive profiles and shouldn't be ruled out.

While most have plausible each-way claims, the one to beat appears to be BORN RULER (nap) who ended up well on top of C&D last Friday.

LTO Selection:

16:55 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

AVON LIGHT found a decent chunk of improvement when finishing second at Wolverhampton on her third career start and an opening mark of 77 for her handicap bow may underestimate her true ability. Shazam wasn't quite at her best when last seen at Bath and she is entitled to bounce back, while Typical Woman and Gold As Glass can fight it out for the minor honours.

TAMILLA would've gone much closer granted more luck at Bath and remains on her last winning mark, so is fancied to make amends with Cieren Fallon back up. Wynter Wildes produced a rare below-par effort last time but is now reunited with a claimer she has built a good rapport with and looks capable of getting back on track, whilst Typical Woman arrives after several good showings and is also respected.

This can go to TAMILLA, who shaped as though coming to hand at Bath last time. She's on a fair mark and this slower ground should suit.

17:00 Listowel Maiden Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Henry de Bromhead has won two of the last four renewals of this race and has bright prospects with GOLD BULLION. This lightly-raced sort won a heavy-ground bumper for Paul Nicholls and was placed on his Irish debut over hurdles at Fairyhouse in April before delivering in Cork the following month. He is sure to be well schooled for this first assignment over the bigger obstacles. Power Of Pause is a former point-to-point winner who has won twice over hurdles. He kept good company in that sphere and could be a leading light on his first crack at racecourse fences. The Friday Man has been placed in all four beginners chases he has contested, albeit a beaten favourite in three of them. He reached a good level over hurdles and his experience and race fitness are two advantages he holds. The Short Go is another De Bromhead representative making his chasing debut and isn't without a chance, while Genois hasn't been seen since January but has two placed runs over fences in the book.

THE FRIDAY MAN has achieved enough to think it's only a matter of time before he wins one of these and is the percentage call. Power of Pause and Gold Bullion are potentially dangerous opponents if taking to fences at the first time of asking, while Genois could also have a big say if close to his best after a 7-month break.

With four chase runs under his girth, THE FRIDAY MAN should be able to get off the mark today, though he will need to be at his best.

PARK STREET appeared to relish the extended 1m distance when winning with something in hand at this venue earlier in the month and the step up to 1m2f may unlock further improvement. Contrast returned to form with a second-placed effort at Pontefract and may give the selection most to think about off only 1lb higher. Panama City and Dandy's Angel have also been running well enough of late to warrant a second look.

DANDY'S ANGEL is a most reliable type for one at this level and is fancied to notch her fourth C&D win of the year. Panama City returned to form from out of the blue here last time and can have his performance marked up slightly on account of racing close to the strong gallop, so he's another leading player if able to replicate that effort, whilst Park Street has scored twice here this season and can't be ruled out.

The suggestion is PARK STREET who goes well here and could have more to give now he is back up in trip.

DARKEST DAY showed enough pace when scoring over further here last week to suggest that he can handle the drop in trip. A 7lb penalty makes life more difficult but the eight-year-old is preferred to A Shining Moon, who may improve for the rise in distance, having been placed over 2m on his last two starts in this sphere. Coeur Aimant and Zamond are fancied to be thereabouts also.

A SHINING MOOD is yet to tackle further than 2m over hurdles but the way he finished last time left the impression that this distance would suit, so he's worth a chance to find improvement. Coeur Aimant is worthy of consideration along with Zamond.

Two good efforts in handicaps suggest that A SHINING MOON can go very close.

17:25 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KAMANIKA is only 2lb higher than for her close-up third at Newmarket and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to go two places better. Al Hargah was unable to complete a double when weakening late on in a class 4 event at Leicester, but she ran well enough to suggest that she can get involved on the return to 0-70 company. Bletchley Storm and Kynsa are also worth a second look.

BLETCHLEY STORM is still unexposed and shaped nicely (travelled well) when third at Southwell last time. Back down in trip, she's fancied to improve enough to get the better of Kamanika and Al Hargah, who both arrive in good order.

Kamanika looks the most solid to run well but may prove vulnerable to BLETCHLEY STORM.

17:30 Yarmouth Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SMALLEYTIME wasn't disgraced when finishing fourth under a penalty in a Kempton novice event and the return to 6f, a trip over which he was victorious at Salisbury in July, is likely to see him progress now he switches to handicap company. Dark Side Thunder was beaten less than a length into third on his penultimate start and is expected to be competitive, as is Champagne Sarah, who has the services of William Buick in the saddle.

The return to sprinting could suit HOW IMPRESSIVE and he gets the nod in a tricky-looking finale. Razzam and Snuggle are also of interest.

Smalleytime is open to improvement on this handicap debut but narrow preference is for HIATUS, whose latest run has been franked.

TRADITUDE TARA is hard to get away from on her second start. The Kayf Tara mare finished a clear second behind a ready winner of a Wexford bumper last month, and the third came out and won a Navan bumper on Saturday. Normal improvement should see Traditude Tara off the mark. John Gleeson is a notable booking for Jet Setting Jim, who ran better than his finishing position of sixth in Galway suggests. He suffered a nightmare route approaching the final furlong and is likely to do better. Lummi Island was well beaten in third at Killarney, but the form got a major boost when the winner followed up over hurdles at Navan. Mag Dillane was placed in a Limerick bumper last year, which gives her a shot at more prize money.

It's very hard to see past TRADITUDE TARA who showed plenty of promise when second on her debut last month and can go one better now. The likes of Noble Talent, who showed a fair level of ability over hurdles in the spring, Jet Setting Jim and Chosen Templar can battle it out for minor honours.

The form of the Wexford race in which TRADITUDE TARA was second has been shown in a good light by the third in scoring at Navan

BAY OF NAPLES escapes a penalty after claiming the spoils in an apprentice handicap at Leicester last week and must hold every chance of completing a quickfire double. Dual C&D winner Billy Roberts arrives in good heart judged on the veteran's runner-up effort at Ripon last month and is feared most, ahead of Letaba, who should appreciate a return to this distance.

BILLY ROBERTS goes well at this track and shaped well under an inexperienced rider at Ripon last time, so he's capable of gaining compensation with Billy Loughnane now on board. Bay of Naples is a threat and Leitrim Rock, with few miles on the clock, is another one to consider.

On his first start for Edward Bethell and with a 5lb drop, it could be worth chancing soft-ground C&D winner FRANKENDAEL for a repeat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

SEBASTOPOL hasn't had too much action over hurdles in recent years, but he showed what he is capable of when scoring comfortably at Newton Abbot earlier in the month. A 6lb rise for that success could prove lenient and this Grade 2 winner over fences should have too much quality for Bucko's Boy, who arrives on a hat-trick. A capable sort on his day, Glinger Flame cannot be ruled out either.

BUCKO'S BOY has been turned around by a breathing operation recently and is taken to complete the hat-trick at the likely expense of Sebastopol, who returned with an impressive display to score at Newton Abbot. Glinger Flame is also respected.

A 4lb rise for his Stratford win may not stop BUCKO'S BOY from completing a hat-trick.

18:25 Kelso Handicap Chase (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GETAWAY LUV looked set to earn a fifth success over fences at Uttoxeter last week but for unseating his rider at the second-last, and compensation could await if coping with a quick turnaround. Mister Bells returned to form when second at Cartmel in May and should be in the mix once again if resuming in the same heart. Lights Are Green has been performing with credit over 3m-plus this campaign and shouldn't be far away if handling the drop in trip.

If GETAWAY LUV is in the same form as when unseating late on with the race at his mercy at Uttoxeter last week then compensation should await. The reliable Lights Are Green could be the one to follow him home.

It's hard to escape the claims of GETAWAY LUV after last week's misfortune.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There were more positives to be taken from CAILIN AIBREAN's fifth-placed finish at Roscommon in June and Peter Fahey's filly looks to hold leading claims in a modest contest. Bishop Hill is entitled to improve on her debut fifth at Musselburgh in March and can't be discounted, while any market support for newcomers Yougoglencoko or Ourlittleprincess requires closer examination, with the latter making slightly more appeal.

BISHOP HILL should have learnt plenty from her Musselburgh debut and gets the vote in a race which makes minimal appeal from a betting perspective. Irish raider Cailin Aibrean may provide the chief threat.

The Irish form of CAILIN AIBREAN might prove good enough for her to win.
