Rapparee Champ (third) narrowly got the better of JANE EIRE (fourth) when the pair met over 2m4f at Down Royal in August. However, the latter was short of room at a crucial stage on that occasion and, with the experience now under her belt, she gets the vote to reverse that form en route to victory on just her second career start. Mr Percy posted a smart performance when winning over 1m6f on the Flat here last month, and he merits respect on his hurdling bow.

MR PERCY won a Flat maiden here last month in the style of a useful performer and can make a successful switch to hurdles under Daryl Jacob. Tonaghneave Well has taken well to hurdling with a couple of placed efforts at Kilbeggan and is second choice ahead of Rapparee Champ and Jane Eire.

A chance is taken that MR PERCY can stamp his flat class on this race after winning easily here on the level last month.

HASHTAG PRETENDER has placed on six of his seven starts since joining Barry Connell and the consistent gelding is overdue a change of fortune. With the trip and ground both ideal, this presents the selection with a perfect opportunity to break his maiden over timber. Garnacho is another with the ability to figure in this company, while The Mediator found only an intriguing Wilie Mullins-trained hurdles newcomer too good at Listowel last week and completes the shortlist.

HASHTAG PRETENDER holds the edge on form so is fancied to gain his breakthrough victory on the back of a good Killarney second. Gordon Elliott's fairly useful The Mediator is next on the list, with Locked Box and Fad Eadrainn also in the picture.

No match for a smart recruit at Listowel THE MEDIATOR may now have the resources to open his hurdles account at the tenth attempt

MARETTIMO lost little in defeat when finishing a gallant second over an extended 3m1f at Warwick in May 2023, and he looks potentially well treated off a 2lb lower mark. Now returning from a lengthy break off his last winning mark, he looks the one to side with. Galloping Pride showed up well for a long way under a bold front-running ride before being worn down in the closing stages over 2m7f at Worcester in August, and he merits respect upped 3lb. Sublime Heights is also respected.

GALLOPING PRIDE has reacted well to the fitting of a visor in finishing runner-up on his last couple of starts so Emma Lavelle's 7-y-o is fancied to go a place better with a tongue tie added at the expense of Sublime Heights, who was last seen in winning action at Chepstow 6 months ago. Musical Slave isn't the force of old, but he got closer than for a while at Newton Abbot a fortnight ago so rounds off the shortlist.

The most obvious answer is GALLOPING PRIDE, who ran well in defeat in two Worcester chases this summer.
Class & Speed Card

Previous course winner WHENTHEDEALINSDONE was on the back of a short break when he finished a respectable third at Southwell last month. The six-year-old could be a surprise package upped in trip from a highly competitive mark, especially with cut in the ground not expected to be an issue. King Cabo should also appreciate the forecast going and commands respect given he has won on the all-weather from 3lb higher. Shaladar and Dakota Power are others for consideration.

BE FRANK has edged to a handy mark and has made a positive start for this yard so, following his strong-finishing fourth at Newmarket last time, he's worth taking a chance on. Warning Sign and Shaladar both make plenty of appeal as alternatives.

Topweight SHALADAR came clear with a progressive winner when runner-up on soft ground here last time and can go one better.
Class & Speed Card

Pop The Question won on his only start here over 2m4f in June, and although beaten twice since, the step up in trip may see improvement as a point-to-point winner over three miles. Jeteye drops in class and warrants plenty of respect as a course and distance winner, but SANTA CLARITA may be the one. A beaten favourite at Worcester over this trip last month, connections persevere and clearly think her stamina is not the issue.

MAGICAL ARTHUR shaped well in a first-time visor when second at Worcester last month and remains unexposed as a stayer, so he's an appealing candidate. Santa Clarita and Jeteye head up the opposition.

Last month's Worcester runner-up MAGICAL ARTHUR is still unexposed as a stayer and he gets the vote ahead of Ange Endormi.
Class & Speed Card

CAILIN AIBREAN has shown more promise of late and, with first-time cheekpieces added, she has the potential to find enough improvement to take command of a race of this nature. Grizabella, the winner of a similar event at Wexford in June, appeals as the chief danger from just 5lb higher. Sandyman also holds scope to improve on just his seventh start over hurdles and is a must for consideration on that basis. Ballycommon Chapel and Hollow Spark complete the shortlist.

Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and GRIZABELLA is fancied to resume winning ways on the back of her good Kilbeggan sixth with Jordan Gainfod now in the saddle. Sandyman is also weighted to have a say and rates next best ahead of Redcliff Glen and Morepowertoya.

Preference is for CAILIN AIBREAN who has shaped nicely on her last two starts and the first-time cheekpieces could make the difference.
Class & Speed Card

REACH FOR THE MOON had a subsequent winner back in third when running out a comfortable winner over 2m at Worcester in July, and he gets the vote to bring up the double. Hell Hound looked a smart prospect when winning well over an extended 2m4f at Southwell when last seen, and he should remain competitive, while King William Rufus doubtless has the ability to play a hand in a race like this if on a going day.

It's probably best to concentrate on the three previous winners, headed by HELL HOUND, who did the job well when scoring on his hurdling bow at Southwell and he should have more to offer. That remark also applies to Reach For The Moon and he is feared most ahead of King William Rufus.

Reach For The Moon dominated a Worcester maiden in July but KING WILLIAM RUFUS brings some robest handicap form into this race.
Class & Speed Card

TRUE LEGEND is unexposed over 2m and, having finished a commendable third in a deeper race on his only previous try over C&D, the Sir Mark Prescott-trained four-year-old could be up to giving weight and a beating to the opposition. Maxident can make this tough for the selection if he is allowed an easy time on the front end, while Hutchence also rates a player with the longer trip a potential source of further progression.

Sole 3-y-o HUTCHENCE tends to come off the bridle early but it's hard to knock his record since headgear has gone on and he shapes as if this step up to 2m will suit. Wind Your Neck In saves his best efforts for the mud and is second choice ahead of True Legend.

The step up to 2m could be ideal for the progressive 3yo HUTCHENCE and he earns the vote ahead of Wind Your Neck In.
Class & Speed Card

Mark Walford seems keen to win this contest, with three of the seven declared in his care, and Irish point-to-point second Some Bro seems the most interesting of them if he is ready to go after seven months off. He might prove the biggest danger to KINGSTON JAMES, with the point-to-point and bumper winner looking for a successful debut over hurdles after a good fourth in a Kelso bumper when last seen in May. Rock On Jet may prove best of the rest in an interesting race.

KINGSTON JAMES showed plenty in a couple of bumpers earlier this year and he is an appealing alternative to likely favourite Ankud now switched to hurdles. The latter is the one to beat on the strength of his breakthrough success in a Sligo handicap in the summer and is a much-respected main danger ahead of fellow Irish recruit Shadow Chaser.

The choice is ROCK ON JET, who ran well for a long way when third here on his hurdles debut. Kingston James also has sound claims.
Class & Speed Card

A tentative vote goes to MAYOS VENDANGEUR, who was unlucky at Kilbeggan when slightly hampered after the last on her most recent outing. The current form of her stable is a big plus, and the five-year-old gets the vote ahead of Init Together, who has run with plenty of credit on each of his last two starts over further at Downpatrick. A winner over fences at Thurles in March, Lilian Bland looks as though she may be suited by dropping back in trip, while Vairue has strong claims on the form of his success at the same track two starts ago.

LILIAN BLAND is 0-11 over hurdles but she is of interest back in this sphere on the strength of her form over fences earlier this year, particularly her Thurles success off a 3 lb higher mark in March. Init Together has to be feared on the back of solid placed efforts at Downpatrick the last twice, while Mr Macphisto is entitled to come on for his recent reappearance spin and he is also shortlisted.

INIT TOGETHER is one of the few that comes into this in any sort of form and this could be his day with the drop back in trip a plus.

GIVE IT TO ME OJ has shown a fair level of ability on the Flat this summer and, on his hurdles debut for a yard who are no strangers to success with horses of a similar profile, the son of Time Test gets the vote. Rogue King impressed when running out an easy winner over an extended 2m1f at Plumpton recently and it would be no surprise if he were to emerge as the main danger to the selection. Already a winner over hurdles, the unexposed Golden Path is also considered.

ROGUE KING had loads to spare when scoring at Plumpton 12 days ago and he's worth a chance to overcome the penalty for all that Give It To Me Oj is a notable recruit to this sphere based on both his Flat form and connections. Golden Path can also feature if she gets back on track.

Give It To Me Oj was quite useful on the Flat but preference is for the proven hurdling ability of easy Plumpton winner ROGUE KING.
Class & Speed Card

RUSSIAN CRESCENDO looked an interesting work in progress when she scored decisively at Kempton last month, which was a marked improvement from her racecourse bow and created the impression she has plenty more to offer. As both Wendrock and Fireblade need to find improvement from their respective debut runs, the well-bred newcomer Lady Chauntee, whose dam was a Listed winner in France, could be the one to give the selection the most to think about.

RUSSIAN CRESCENDO derived plenty from her debut to score with a bit in hand at Kempton last month and with further progress on the cards, William Haggas' filly can follow up at the expense of Fireblade, who offered something to work on amidst greenness at that same track last month and should take a step forward here. Wendrock can edge out debutante Lady Chauntee for third.

The filly RUSSIAN CRESCENDO did it nicely at Kempton last month on her second start and is taken to defy a penalty and follow up.
Class & Speed Card

BEAT BOX appears to have scared off some of the early entries and faces just the four rivals here. A revelation since switching yards and being sent back over fences, the eight-year-old has won all four starts including an easy success at Worcester last month. Upped 6lb for that win, he has been dropped in class and remains difficult to oppose. Caithness looks interesting ahead of his chasing debut, as does Dream Jet, who has experience on his side after nine starts over fences.

BEAT BOX has been the latest inmate to have been transformed by Dan Skelton and there's no real desire to oppose him in his quest for the 5-timer. Dream Jet is likely to give his running again but a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of chase-debutant Caithness.

There is no strong temptation to oppose BEAT BOX, who has been in superb form for his new yard and can extend his winning spree.
Class & Speed Card

Lot of Joy has been busy on the Flat this summer without success for Willie Mullins and has a single win from six starts over hurdles. Gordon Elliott's Calico may have her measure, assuming she is at her best on her first start since a Punchestown fifth in May. Both can go well, but ROYAL HOLLOW has easily won her last two starts over hurdles and may surprise them both for trainer Andrew Slattery.

Quite a useful mares' event. LOT OF JOY arrives fit from the Flat and can deny Andrew Slattery's improving 6-y-o Royal Hollow a hat-trick.

Preference is for ROYAL HOLLOW, frustrating in bumpers but has turned it around over hurdles and can complete the hat-trick
Class & Speed Card

STREAM OF STARS returned from 986 days off the track to reward his patient connections with a smooth success over 2m3f here last month. Nigel Twiston-Davies' nine-year-old might have been let off lightly with only a 6lb rise for that victory and he could prove tough to beat. Enthused struck in commanding style in this grade at Plumpton last time and has to be respected, despite his 7lb penalty. Of the remainder, West To The Bridge makes the most appeal.

STREAM OF STARS represents a stable in fine form and made light of a huge absence (33 months) to make a winning return over further here 26 days ago. He's narrowly selected to come out on top from his revised mark, in the hope this doesn't come too soon. West To The Bridge very much caught the eye on his final start of last season and he, along with the highly admirable Enthused head up the dangers.

Bottomweight STREAM OF STARS (nap) travelled smoothly before fending off a spirited challenge from the runner-up here last month.
Class & Speed Card

Having finished third on his last two starts in Group company, including the Geoffrey Freer on his penultimate start, GO DADDY can take advantage of a drop in class on this occasion. The son of Scat Daddy has run creditably on heavy ground before, and he can regain the winning thread at the main expense of the progressive Subsequent, who was narrowly denied in the Mallard Handicap at Doncaster last time out. A comfortable winner of the Melrose on just his fifth career outing, Tabletalk is another key player if handling conditions.

TABLETALK cranked it up a notch when landing the Melrose Handicap, and smart after just 5 career starts, there should be plenty more to come from him. Go Daddy can call upon placed form at a slightly higher level than this so he demands respect, while Allonsy's ceiling has yet to be ascertained.

This could go to the highly progressive filly ALLONSY, whose pedigree provides optimism she'll be up to today's tougher assignment.
Class & Speed Card

INSTANT GAMBLER landed a double over fences at Fontwell with plenty left in the tank. He carries a 7lb penalty for that success, but is due to be raised by a further 7lb in the future and the hat-trick beckons for Alexandra Dunn's progressive chaser. Sean Og had been steadily improving over the larger obstacles before failing to recover from an early blunder at Kelso and isn't out of this with a clear round, while Hey Brother is going the right way over fences based on his second at Uttoxeter last time.

A race which to some degree revolves around INSTANT GAMBLER who is 7 lb well-in under a penalty for last week's comfortable Fontwell success. The chief threat may come from chase newcomers Lady Mendoza, whose stable landed this race in 2022, and Defence Witness, both of whom won in the pointing field at the start of their career.

Although Instant Gambler is the one to beat it could pay to take him on with STEPS MATCH who won over hurdles at Perth last time.
Class & Speed Card

A winner of his maiden hurdle at Tipperary in May, TOOR KHOV could be well handicapped off 116. The runner-up, who has won twice subsequently and is now rated 126, gives the form a particularly strong look. Although dropping back half-a-mile is an obvious concern, the Margaret Flynn-trained gelding is of obvious interest. Twice successful over fences, The Big Chap reverts to hurdling off a 13lb lower mark. Having finished third in a Listed handicap chase at Killarney recently, the Paul Flynn-trained seven-year-old will find this easier. Walk Away Harry has to be considered if the ground remains on the quick side. Wearing a first-time visor, the Charles Byrnes-trained gelding is undoubtedly well handicapped over hurdles.

This looks very competitive indeed. The vote goes to the 4-y-o SPINNING WEB, who shaped well on his first start over hurdles for the best part of a year at Tipperary where he would've gone close but for a bad mistake at the second-last. Toor Khov landed a maiden at that course on his latest start in May and, similarly unexposed in this sphere, he is second choice ahead of Park of Kings and recent chase winner Tullyveery Lad. Missus Beeton completes the shortlist.

It might just pay to side with PARK OF KINGS, a dual winner last year coming here after a decent run at Galway in July
Class & Speed Card

Kinetic made it four wins from six starts since joining the James Owen yard at Southwell on her latest outing and she holds an obvious chance again. However, it may pay to side with ROYAL COLLEGE, who showed promise on his first two starts at Hamilton and Windsor before disappointing at Beverley last time. Charlie Johnston's three-year-old now takes a step up in trip and might be able to defy his opening mark of 70. Polar Princess completes the shortlist.

Having displayed fairly useful form as a 3-y-o, SECTARIUS was below his best in a pair of handicaps in Ireland earlier this year. However, he's made a very interesting yard switch ahead of his return and could just be worth chancing to bounce back before the benefit of market clues. Thriving mare Kinetic and Love Safari are other likely players.

It's hard to oppose the rapidly improving KINETIC in her current mood and she is taken to make it 5-7 since joining James Owen.
Class & Speed Card

Midnight Jewel made every yard of the running to score by a neck over C&D last month and he is expected to mount a bold bid off 4lb higher. However, he might come out second best to LORD OF CHESHIRE, who ran too bad to be true when finishing last at Kempton most recently. If the son of Diamond Boy can reproduce the level of form that he produced in his two starts at the back end of last year at Warwick and Haydock, he could be the one to beat. Duhallow Tommy can beat Jupiter Du Gite in the battle for third.

DUHALLOW TOMMY ended last season with a disappointing effort but he'd progressed very nicely over fences prior to that so he's taken to regain the winning thread on reappearance. Midnight Jewel will attempt to make his fitness edge on the field count and is very dangerous if allowed to get into a rhythm.

In a tricky race the safest option is probably match-fit 8yo MIDNIGHT JEWEL, who held on well when making all over C&D last month.
Class & Speed Card

ROHAAN may have disappointed in the Ayr Gold Cup last time out, but he is better judged on his penultimate effort when a fast-finishing third over C&D. The son of Mayson is now 8lb lower than his success in the race last year and is on a dangerous mark. Garfield Shadow, who came from off the pace when a promising third in a valuable handicap over 7f on Irish Champions weekend, is likely to enter calculations, while Never So Brave and Baradar cannot be ruled out either.

This is wide open but Richard Fahey's GARFIELD SHADOW signalled he's ready to go in again when a fine third at Leopardstown last time so edges the vote. Never So Brave promises to be suited by this drop back to 6f and could emerge as the main danger, although handily-weighted duo Rohaan and Baradar can also have a say. Top-weight Commanche Falls completes the shortlist.

Last year's winner ROHAAN has a good record here and, having dropped to an attractive mark, can land back-to-back runnings.
Class & Speed Card

Placed in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr in April, Cracking Rhapsody returns to action with a shout on that form. Coastguard Station reverts to hurdling 5lb lower than when winning over fences at Uttoxeter in June and can also feature, but GOT GREY has the more recent form. The five-year-old found only the progressive Saint Riquier too good when upped in class at Market Rasen last week and another bold bid is anticipated off his current mark.

The 5-y-os bookending the weights are the interesting ones, with the promising CRACKING RHAPSODY taken to start his second campaign over hurdles with a bang with victory. Dan Skelton's Got Grey ran a screamer in a valuable contest at Market Rasen on Saturday and is probably still ahead of his mark. Florida Dreams is another to consider.

As he is 4lb well in after being put up for his good second at Market Rasen last Saturday, GOT GREY (nap) should prove hard to beat.
Class & Speed Card

Galway runner-up IN FOR THE NIGHT can go one place better. The six-year-old, who had finished third on his previous start at Ballinrobe in August, looks to be running into form. Stepping back up to this trip for the first time since his third outing in maiden company should also suit. A winner over fences at Wexford on his penultimate start, Duty Bound is 7lb lower over hurdles. Having run a solid race on the Flat at Listowel recently, the Kingman gelding should have every chance. Happy Dreams is a definite contender if fit enough on his first start since March. The Michael McDonagh-trained seven-year-old, who is a four-time winner over fences, is nicely treated off an 18lb lower mark over flights.

IN FOR THE NIGHT ran a cracker at Galway last time and the longer trip is unlikely to be an issue, so he's fancied to go one better. Ah Remy Martin is another big player and Duty Bound makes some appeal returning to hurdling from a potentially lenient mark.

Preference is for IN FOR THE NIGHT(nap), possibly unlucky in defeat at Galway last month and should take the beating if he stays
Class & Speed Card

LESLEY'S BOY failed to fire when only managing ninth at Newmarket in August, but he may have blown his chance away before the start that day after giving his rider problems on the way to the post. If the son of Kodi Bear builds on his success at Ripon two starts ago, he could prove tough to beat. Tiete has hit the crossbar on both of her nursery starts and she now sports first-time cheekpieces, so it will be no surprise to see her get involved. Del Ray is pick of the remainder.

This looks open for the field size with TIETE, the only maiden in the field, taken to gain a deserved success fitted with cheekpieces for the first time. Lesley's Boy and Del Ray head the opposition.

This looks tricky but LESLEY'S BOY had a tough task last time and he could resume his progress back in calmer waters at this new trip.

Although GREATNESS AWAITS has crept up in the handicap after three runner-up efforts since his victory at Newton Abbot in June, he still looks capable of scoring off his current rating. The reappearing Baddesley capped off last season with a victory over fences at Plumpton and he's not discounted reverting to the smaller obstacles, while Ted's Friend lurks on an attractive mark.

GREATNESS AWAITS arrives at the top of his game and is preferred to Neil Mulholland handicap newcomer Batwomen. Ted's Friend showed last time he's down to a mark he can be competitive from and completes the shortlist.

This might go to GREATNESS AWAITS, who has remained in good form since his win in June and is slightly ahead of the handicapper.
Class & Speed Card

Closely related to Group 1 winner Nezwaah, TAREEFA has progressed nicely by scoring on her last two starts. As long as she handles the ground, William Haggas' charge is taken to see off the likes of Thyer, who was a determined winner at Windsor on his first start for new connections, and Ebt's Guard. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Aquacell, Dashing Roger and Monkey Island.

PEARL EYE pulled clear of the rest when an unlucky loser at Chester recently and, granted better luck-in-running, the 4-y-o may well gain compensation here with conditions no problem. Next on the list is Ebt's Guard, who is just about the pick at the weights and he ran well for a long way in the Cambridgeshire on Saturday. The unexposed Tareefa has to be feared, too, while Monkey Island could have a part to play if handling the ground and Thunder Road is not without each-way hope.

The well-bred TAREEFA (nap) could prove to be quite a bit better than this grade and gets the nod ahead of fellow 3yo Ebt's Guard.
Class & Speed Card

A C&D winner last November, REALTIN FANTASY has shaped up well with two placed effort on turf of late and is an attractive proposition back on Polytrack in this company. Eruption is closely matched with the selection based on their encounter at Down Royal in June and looks a key player on the revised terms, despite having yet to win on a synthetic surface. No Speed Limit and Hero Of The Hour are previous course winners with some each-way appeal.

A run-of-the-mill sprint handicap with the narrow vote in favour of PHIL'S DREAM. Back on his last winning mark, he's entitled to be sharper for his recent return at Laytown and, with the visor back on, it would come as no surprise to see him firmly in the mix. No Speed Limit, Hero of The Hour and Hezahunk are others to consider.

This could go the way of REALTIN FANTASY who is a C&D winner in good form and she's well drawn for her preferred tactics
Class & Speed Card

The hat-trick seeking Jimli's Island hasn't looked back since racing under the tutelage of Susan Corbett in August, as evidenced when completing a double over hurdles at Perth last month, and another bold bid is forecast reverting to chasing. However, the combination of a 9lb higher rating and a very different course may leave the eight-year-old vulnerable. With that in mind, it may be worth taking a punt on stable debutant SPUTNIK, a C&D winner here in April 2022 who lurks on an attractive mark. Shadows In The Sky is another that should appreciate a return to this venue.

JIMILI'S ISLAND has taken off since joining this stable and it's unlikely the handicapper has caught up with him, so he's fancied to land the hat-trick at the possible expense of Croagh Patrick, who is lingering on a dangerous mark. Coniston Clouds is a definite player if back on track after a break.

Top of the list is JIMLI'S ISLAND, who has proved something a revelation for his new yard, with wins over fences and hurdles at Perth.
Class & Speed Card

A dual bumper winner, who finished second in a Grade 3 at Punchestown, MOZZIES SISTER sets a high standard. The Declan Queally-trained five-year-old has plenty of experience, having won her only point-to-point start prior to racing under Rules. In a race full of unexposed types with plenty of potential, the Arctic Cosmos mare will be hard to beat. The well-bred Cameletta Vega couldn't have done it any easier when making a winning racecourse debut at Galway in August. Trainer Willie Mullins has an embarrassment of riches in this division, so the fact Patrick Mullins takes the ride is significant. Stablemate Keep Up was expected to improve from the run when winning at Roscommon first time up. That form received a huge boost when the runner-up beat a subsequent winner on his next start.

CAMALETTA VEGA has a most compelling pedigree and wasn't hard pressed to make a winning start at Galway a couple of months ago, so she's fancied to maintain that unbeaten record for all that Mozzies Sister has actually achieved more than her in form terms. Keep Up, a stablemate of the selection, is also considered.

A confident selection goes to MOZZIES SISTER, whose form in the spring sets a very good standard here and should come on for Down Royal
Class & Speed Card

Jacks My Boy and Countess Candy both come into this contest on the back of victories, but the latter is the pick of the pair after her impressive triumph over 1m2f here last month. However, a chance can be taken on newcomer SPETSES, who is related to plenty of winners and represents powerful connections. The son of Get Stormy might be able to make an instant impression on his racecourse debut.

Most of these enter calculations but Conrad Allen's filly COUNTESS CANDY looks the way to go on the back of her impressive recent victory here. Roger Varian's newcomer Spetses could emerge as the chief threat ahead of the returning King of Lightning and Chelmsford City scorer Jacks My Boy.

Spetses needs watching in the market but both JACKS MY BOY and Countess Candy are good candidates for further improvement.
Class & Speed Card

Having hit the frame on both hurdle outings to date, Kalif D'airy warrants consideration on his handicap/seasonal bow. An opening mark of 102 looks workable for the four-year-old and he isn't taken lightly. However, C&D winner MISS FEDORA outbattled a subsequent winner when regaining the winning thread at Cartmel in August and the Seamus Mullins-trained mare is the one to beat off a 5lb higher rating. Broughshane is also worth a glance in the betting on his entry into handicap company.

Plenty with chances but KALIF D'AIRY appeals as a likely improver for Gary and Josh Moore now going into handicaps so edges the vote from Broughshane, who fluffed his lines when fourth at Huntingdon last time but remains capable of better on his first venture into handicap company. Recent Cartmel scorer Miss Fedora and top-weight Presenting Nelly can also have a say.

Not much has gone to plan for BROUGHSHANE since his easy Irish point win in February 2022 but he looks very interesting in this grade.
Class & Speed Card

HARRY'S BAR showed much improved form when making his second start for the Jack W Davison yard and hitting the crossbar over 7f at Laytown last time. The nine-year-old is a four-time C&D winner and it would be no surprise to see him gain a 16th career victory. Valiant Force sets the standard with a rating of 101 but has failed to fire in his three starts for the Adrian Murray stable, while Betsen is another to keep an eye on.

A trappy sprint but HARRY'S BAR came on significantly from his stable debut when runner-up at Laytown last month, so he's fancied to notch C&D victory number 5 refitted in cheekpieces at the expense of Betsen, who was seemingly flattered in a Group 3 at the Curragh last Sunday and makes his all-weather debut. Valiant Force should find this much easier than recent assignments, so he rounds off the shortlist.

Jack Davison holds the aces. Betsen has youth on his side but the experience of 15-time AW winner HARRY'S BAR may prove crucial
Class & Speed Card

Having travelled with more verve on her fifth-placed finish at Sedgefield last month, MOONLIGHT GLORY looks primed for a big run. Mark Walford's mare scored over track and trip in May 2023 and she makes most appeal. Although Similar Story hasn't proved the most consistent over hurdles, a 163-day layoff may have freshened her up. The six-year-old is feared most, ahead of You Some Girl.

C&D winner MOONLIGHT GLORY signalled she is ready to strike again when a recent fifth at Sedgfield so looks the way to go here. Police Academy could emerge as the main danger now reverted to this sphere after a brief stint chasing, with You Some Girl also in the picture with Brian Hughes up for the first time.

Preference is for triple hurdle winner POLICE ACADEMY, who returns to this sphere off only 1lb higher than for her last success.
Class & Speed Card

Now that THEME PARK has regained the winning thread after a taking success at Pontefract last time out, there is likely to be plenty more improvement forthcoming from the four-year-old and he can land the double. Sniper's Eye got up late to score over further at Yarmouth last month and he must enter calculations, along with recent Southwell winner Baraq.

Cases can be made for several of these, with LIGHT SPEED topping the shortlist. He finished nearer last than first in the Pontefract handicap won by Theme Park recently but that only tells half the story (shaped better than the result) and his strike rate on the all-weather is another strong selling point. Hale End was also down the field in that Pontefract race but is much better than he showed there and is second choice ahead of Master Richard. Baraq and Sniper's Eye are others to consider.

This can go to GREATGADIAN (nap) who has become particularly attractively weighted on his best form at this track.
Class & Speed Card

Only worn down late on in a highly valuable sales contest at York's Ebor meeting, ARIZONA BLAZE is likely to be well suited to dropping back to 5f for the first time since finishing third in the Norfolk. Adrian Murray's charge can overcome a 5lb penalty for winning a Group 3 in May, with Revoke looking best placed to chase him home after an impressive debut success at Naas in August. British raider Sayidah Dariyan looked good when bounding clear at Lingfield last time out and is another to consider, along with recent C&D winner Powerful Nation.

Several progressive types in opposition with Richard Hughes' filly SAYIDAH DARIYAN getting the nod to come out on top. She marked herself down as a pattern-class performer in the making when bolting up at Lingfield 24 days ago and she's well worth her place at this higher level. Revoke and Powerful Nation are similarly upwardly mobile types and are feared along with Arizona Blaze.

It's difficult to get away from REVOKE (nap) who made easy work of her debut when well backed and that form is working out nicely
Class & Speed Card

Having not been outside the first two on her last five starts here, BAROSSA looks the one to beat on the back of a narrow reversal over C&D last month. Runner-up over the same track and trip on his most recent outing, Drakeholes is taken to uphold form with Asadjumeirah (fourth). Polly The Rocket and Portoro are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

BAROSSA and Drakeholes boast solid C&D form this year and might be the pair to focus on, with the former taken to gain compensation for last week's near miss. Portoro and Filey Beach are others who should have a say.

The vote goes to URBAN DANDY, 1lb lower than when twice going close over 7f at Southwell in March. He remains unexposed over this far.

The penny seemed to drop with MIDNIGHT STAGGER at Down Royal last time. Beaten less than a length when caught by the winner in the closing stages, he will likely launch another serious challenge with an apprentice's 5lb claim further helping his cause. Katie Ross could only manage fourth behind the selection, though she wasn't beaten that far, and looks worthy of another try over today's distance. Zaraahmando was no match for the winner when runner-up at the same Down Royal fixture, but Bamako may prove more of a threat representing last year's winning trainer.

MIDNIGHT STAGGER displayed improved form when runner-up at Down Royal a month ago and with that up there with the most persuasive form on offer, he looks the way to go from a handy draw. Eric Lock ought to be a factor from his current mark, with Annie Lavinia a potential improver now tackling a nursery.

This can go the way of MIDNIGHT STAGGER who was only just touched off last month and Wesley Joyce takes 5lb off this time.

GORDONSTOUN (third) may have a length to make up with Yaahobby (first) from their most recent clash over C&D, but Liam Bailey's charge is 5lb better off on this occasion and was carried left late in that contest. He can regain the winning thread, with Concert Boy (sixth) another to note from that event. Elettaria, whose last win came at this track a year ago, completes the shortlist.

A chance is taken on END ZONE back down in a Class 6. Concert Boy wasn't seen to best effect behind Yaahobby here last week and can bounce back to form and provide the chief threat ahead of Gordonstoun.

The choice is ELETTARIA who has dropped 2lb lower than when winning over C&D a year ago.

Having posted a solid third over a mile in the Group 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown last month, BERNARD SHAW makes plenty of appeal dropping into Listed company. The son of Into Mischief showed plenty of early speed on that occasion and a return to 7f holds no fear. The biggest threat may emerge from Comanche Brave, who justified strong support in the market when coasting home at Cork 23 days ago. Va Va Vroom and Beckman are unlikely to be far behind.

Having won a 1m maiden here on second start, BERNARD SHAW still looked a work-in-progress when third in Group 2 company 3 weeks ago. The application of blinkers will help in that regard and he's the one to beat at listed level, with Beckman and Comanche Brace fancied to offer most resistance.

Having been the trainer's second-string in a four-runner Group 2 event at Leopardstown, BERNARD SHAW gets the chance to shine here

Pallas Lord is hard to ignore with seven career wins at this venue, but he hasn't been seen since April and lacks race fitness. Strangerontheshore has to be considered as a C&D winner, but BERNADINE is still preferred. Only beaten a length at Southwell last month, she was put up 1lb for that, but Kaiya Fraser now claims 3lb from the saddle and she looks attractively handicapped.

BERNADINE is well treated on her best form and seemed to be perked up by blinkers last time, so she's preferred to Bicep, who was also back on track recently. Turbo Command is expected to give another good account of himself.

The vote goes to LITTLE TED who has proved consistent over C&D since the summer of last year. He was beaten a head on his last visit.

Having shaped with promise on both previous visits to this track, PRINCESS AUREA can get her head in front here. A staying-on third over a mile in July, she subsequently ran well in two turf maidens, before finishing mid-division on handicap debut back on the Polytrack last time. Although drawn widest, the Andrew Slattery-trained filly can come stands side into the straight to deliver her challenge. An Mhi Abu has yet to tackle this surface but has shown enough on five starts to suggest he can win races. Ordinarily a maiden might have been too steep for the Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding but this looks a weak contest. Recent course and distance runner-up Mags has work to do at these weights but has proven her ability to act around here.

Plenty with chances but PRINCESS AUREA didn't enjoy the rub of the green when a good C&D sixth last time out so edges the vote. Gavin Cromwell's in-form An Mhi Abu could emerge as the main danger on his first go on polytrack, with Yaxchilan, Black Storm and Louiescall all in the mix too.

It was a promising debut from BLACK STORM last month and with a less exposed profile than the remainder, he may progress past these

Paul Midgley won this in 2022 and has two chances here, with Beverley fourth Silky Robin seemingly the best of them on his return from a wind operation. He can go well despite top-weight, but he may have to give way to MUSICAL DIVA. A beaten joint-favourite last time out at Beverley, she deserves a third win after numerous placed efforts. Southwell second Street Life is another to consider, with Rhys Elliott's 7lb claim a major bonus.

KYBER CRYSTAL is thriving and still looked well treated when runner-up at Musselburgh a couple of days ago so, despite the quick turnaround, she's worth another chance. Street Life is shaping up well and has a promising apprentice on board, so he's the main threat ahead of Musical Diva.

Preference is for dual C&D winner STREET LIFE who has been running well in defeat lately as when runner-up at Southwell last Sunday.

I AM SUPERMAN, who is one-from-one at this track, can maintain his unbeaten record. A winner here in December, the Michael O'Callaghan-trained eight-year-old followed up back on turf next time. Having run with credit in Group races and premier handicaps subsequently, the eight-year-old should find this easier. Malex was well supported when making a winning reappearance after a long absence at Tipperary last month. While there has to be a slight concern about him replicating that effort on his second run back, he would be a serious threat if doing so. Impressive Laytown winner Tough Talk is hard to assess on his first start on the Polytrack. Provided he acts on the surface, the Ger Lyons-trained four-year-old can play a leading role.

This has an open feel to it but the return to the AW should suit DAAMBERDIPLOMAT so he gets the tentative nod. Pier Pressure is back on his last winning mark so he enters the reckoning, with Tough Talk also dangerous if building on his Laytown win.

This looks open and it may be worth taking a chance with DAAMBERDIPLOMAT who ran in a premier handicap at Leopardstown last time

SPARTAN FIGHTER clearly loves it here with six victories and plenty of places to his name, and he returned to form when a short-head second here last time out. He looks all set for another big run in this field, having won off higher marks in the past. One Of Our Own has won three times this year at Catterick and if she can transfer her best form to the all-weather, she could go well. Flash The Dash is the pick of the remainder.

This looks ripe for SPARTAN FIGHTER, who has returned to form with solid efforts here the last twice and a sixth C&D success beckons for the 7-y-o. One of Our Own came up short when bidding for the hat-trick at Catterick but that was a respectable effort nonetheless and she earns the vote ahead of Flash The Dash for forecast purposes.

This can go to SPARTAN FIGHTER, who is a Tapeta specialist and was only just caught off this mark over C&D ten days ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
