LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Having finished runner-up at Windsor and Newcastle last month, Canopus is likely to give another good account. However, Ed Walker's charge may have to play second fiddle once more, with GOODWOOD MOGUL shading the vote. The son of Mohaather has been running with credit over 1m2f of late, but the addition of first-time cheekpieces, coupled with a drop in trip, could elicit some improvement. Return To Unit and debutant Melodic are others to consider.

Return To Unit is feared but preference is for CANOPUS who has looked progressive when runner-up on his last two outings.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

Grade 2 bumper runner-up DESTINATION DUBAI had little difficulty making the switch to hurdles at Hexham in May, and he could be worth following this season. Although the six-year-old must shoulder a 7lb penalty for that success, Nick Slatter negates much of it with his 5lb claim, and further glory may be imminent. Herja supplemented her maiden triumph with a good second at Perth 20 days ago and she's feared most, ahead of The Clonmel Kid.

It's hard to see beyond DESTINATION DUBAI, who looked very useful in bumpers last season and signed off in May with an easy hurdle win.

VITORIO PIEL looked a smart prospect when making all on debut in a 20-runner bumper at the Festival meeting here in May. That form appears solid as his rivals were well strung out behind and the race has thrown up a number of winners. Gameball easily won a Ballinrobe bumper for Andy Slattery this summer and looks an exciting gelding for new connections, while point-to-point winner Kovanis made a successful start under Rules at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting. Minella Hollow was a dual bumper winner last year and has the benefit of a run over hurdles at Navan last month, while O'Reilly has been placed twice recently over hurdles.

Andrew Slattery nominated GAME BALL as one of the best of his plethora of bumper winners and he should be hard to beat

Having made late headway into fourth on her debut over 7f at Haydock last month, ZIATA makes grand appeal. The daughter of Iffraaj should be all the wiser for that experience and a breakthrough victory may be in the offing, especially given that this longer trip should suit. Iceni Queen boasts a similar level of form and she cannot be dismissed, while newcomers Glasgow Kiss, Churchill's Spirit and Plaid all merit closer inspection.

They don't set a high standard but ICENI QUEEN and Ziata found plenty for pressure on their recent debuts, finishing a close fourth.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

ANACONDA brings some useful French form to the table and he could take all the beating if performing to a similar level on his British/stable debut. Judged on his Flat exploits, the Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore-trained gelding shouldn't be inconvenienced by quicker ground conditions and he is fancied to defy a 7lb penalty. Genbu has finished third on all four hurdle outings to date and should put his experience to good use, while Stitching Wheel has shown enough on the level to suggest he could be involved too.

The winner of a French claiming hurdle in pretty good style in the spring, ANACONDA can strike again on this British debut.

GRILLON DE MONTY had three subsequent winners behind, including the reopposing Galway Reel (third) over C&D in August, and a 7lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from landing a sixth success over fences. Not beaten far over hurdles at Carlisle when last seen in April, George Darling is intriguing on his debut in this sphere, along with Iris Des Issards, who scored comfortably at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start.

This can be another win for GRILLON DE MONTY, who scored twice over C&D in the summer. George Darling rates as the main danger.

A LAW OF HER OWN may record a fourth win under Rules. She probably found 2m4f a bit too far at Listowel last time but a reproduction of her previous sixth behind Come On The Lads at the Galway Festival should see her go close. Galileo Springs was placed a number of times in bumpers last season and now tackles handicap company for the first time after comfortably landing a Killarney maiden hurdle earlier this month. Flidais showed improved form last time when scoring over 2m7f at Tipperary, while John Ryan is also represented by Andyourbirdcansing, who was still in contention when falling at the last over fences at Galway last week.

Comfortable maiden hurdle winner GALILEO SPRINGS may make a winning handicap debut

Having stretched clear to record an impressive success at Newcastle recently, PARISIAN SCHOLAR is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty. Charlie Johnston's youngster had little difficulty in completing a double that day and he's taken to repel fellow last-time-out winner Bearin Up. The daughter of Kodi Bear appeared to relish a step up in trip at Ripon latest and a subsequent 5lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold showing. The unexposed Aleen sports first-time cheekpieces and it will be interesting to see if her supporters return.

Quite a few are interesting contenders but PARISIAN SCHOLAR (nap) bolted up at Newcastle last week and is taken to defy a 6lb penalty.

Having only been collared in the closing stages on his return to action at Kelso last month, compensation could be on the cards for PRIMOZ. Parisencore may fare best of the remainder.

Primoz is respected but PARISENCORE also has some good course form on his CV and he is taken to exploit a favourable mark.

This can go the way of SUPERSTYLIN, who could not have done it much easier on his first start for the Chris Gordon team over C&D last month. A 7lb rise for that success could prove lenient and he is preferred to Dexter, who bounced back to form with a highly creditable second at Uttoxeter recently. Twice a winner in this sphere last season, Dunstall Rambler is one to note on his return, as well as course specialist Hobie.

The change of scenery did the trick for SUPERSTYLIN (nap) who scored on his stable debut over C&D. The main danger is Dexter.

Serienmond weakened in the closing stages when reappearing after a summer break at Listowel, while Tramore maiden winner Captain Ryan Matt is an interesting recruit to handicaps.

A few in with chances, but the vote goes to BALLYCASHIN who doesn't have the most attractive record but has been running well recently

In what is set to be a huge week for the Gosden team, the well-bred GAMRAI can get the ball rolling. It was a disappointing effort when beaten at long odds-on at Epsom last month, but he is expected to bounce back now switched to handicaps. Mr Alan caught the eye on his second run for new connections when third at Pontefract last time out, and he must enter calculations, along with Kempton winner King's Code and the returning Parlando.

The return of blinkers could be a big positive for GREEN TRIANGLE on his second outing for the Crisfords and he earns the vote.

SALIGO BAY has been in fine fettle across both codes recently and further glory could be imminent. KING OF KINGSFIELD looks to have decent claims of winning for the third time over fences. A smart hurdler, the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding won his first two starts over fences this season. Although beaten at Roscommon on his last run, this looks an easier assignment. Stepping up an additional two furlongs in trip could easily see the former point-to-point winner improve on what he has done to date. Birdie Or Bust has yet to reach the same heights over fences that she did as a hurdler. However, the Henry De Bromhead-trained mare showed a bit more when winning at Listowel last month. Blaze The Way has to step up on what he has shown thus far but shouldn't be discounted.

This looks like a good opportunity for KING OF KINGSFIELD to make it three from four for the season. He faced a stiff task last time

Milan Tino boasted some smart form as a juvenile, although last season's efforts were underwhelming. Tom George's charge still has time on his side and cannot be dismissed, but BIG GINGE rates the most solid proposition. The five-year-old was beaten just over six lengths in the Imperial Cup in March and a similar performance on his return to action may prove sufficient. Lock Stock is the most appealing of the hurdle debutants.

With an official rating of 160 and receiving weight from his main danger, HEART WOOD should take the beating. A winner of a Listed race at Wexford on his return last October, the Henry De Bromhead-trained gelding clearly runs well fresh. His narrow defeat in the Grade 1 Drinmore Chase and, runner-up position in the Ryanair Chase, set a very high standard in the context of this race. Galway Plate winner Western Fold has to be respected in his bid for a five-timer. Lightly raced over fences, the Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old has leading claims but won't find the concession of 8lb an easy task. Stablemate Croke Park is also not without his chance in a competitive affair.

This could hinge on the race fitness of Galway Plate winner WESTERN FOLD who made an effective transition to Graded company at Gowran

Beverley winner Kiss Me My Love and Glorious Kitty are likely to enter the reckoning as well.

It may be worth siding with PEARLY SQUIRREL who ran better than it looked last time and has slipped 2lb below her sole winning mark.

Dwight K Schrute was too bad to be true on his latest outing at Bangor and he's entitled to return to form with a summer on his back, while Axel Bleue should have learned plenty from his second-placed hurdle bow at Uttoxeter recently. However, the pair could prove vulnerable to a Rules debutant in either Ignore The Door or LOCAL DERBY, with the latter edging the vote. Chris Gordon's charge was a winner on his sole outing between the flags and market support would increase confidence.

There are some nice prospects on show here and the pick of them at this stage is AXEL BLEUE. The main danger is Ignore The Door.

Although unable to follow up at Killarney last time, the six-year-old ran a solid race to finish fourth. If getting into a nice jumping rhythm here, he should be hard to pass. An improver over hurdles since his last run in a chase, the Tony Martin-trained Aurea Fortuna holds every chance. Having finished second over flights here in December, he obviously handles the track. Sligo third He Fitz In looks best of the remainder.

HIERARCHY returned to winning ways at Southwell last month and a 4lb rise could prove lenient as he looks to notch up a sixth career success. The biggest threat may prove to be Mc Loven, who has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his third at Chelmsford in August. Lipsink is capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Prolific AW winner TYGER BAYp can gain another success, at the main expense of the in-form Hierarchy.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

Denied by the narrowest of margins on just his second start over fences at Worcester last month, SECRET TRIX now drops in trip and is taken to go one place better. An unchanged mark and forecast good ground are both positives, and the returning Old Gregorian will likely need a career-best performance. The chasing debutant steps up in trip, though, which could spark some improvement.

Old Gregorian may have greater chasing potential than SECRET TRIX in the longer term but the latter may have a fitness edge here.

ORANGE DIAMOND scored a shade cosily when completing a hat-trick over C&D last month and may still be a step ahead of the assessor. A 4lb higher mark shouldn't forestall the progress of Tom Ellis' charge and he may be able to repel fellow improver Jorebel. The six-year-old ran out a ready winner at Fontwell recently and isn't taken lightly. Market support for handicap debutant Tongaknoxie would be interesting.

Topweight ORANGE DIAMOND has done very well since changing stables in the summer and is taken to win for the fourth time in a row.

Takiwatanga, who finished third in that aforementioned Ballinrobe race, has to be respected on his second start for Emmet Mullins.

Related to multiple Group 1 winners, GO RIMBAUD got his career off to a respectable start when running on for fourth over 7f at Leicester last month and stepping up in trip can see him break the maiden on this occasion. Bred in the purple as a son of Wootton Bassett out of Group 2 scorer Usherette, newcomer Talk Of New York must be monitored for market support, along with Cheshire Cat. Brighton View is another open to improvement after showing plenty of greenness on its first outing at Haydock last month.

Talk Of New York looks the part on paper but GO RIMBAUD can put his debut experience to good use.

Dropping to the minimum trip almost worked the oracle for WESTGATE WARRIOR at Beverley, where he was picked up in the closing stages to ultimately fill the runner-up spot. However, that was a fine effort nonetheless and if able to find any further progress, Roy Bowring's gelding could go one place better. Yazaman hasn't always been the most consistent this season but he has become too well handicapped to ignore, while others to note include Son Of Astar and Ninety Nine.

This may be decided by further improvement from the lightly raced WESTGATE WARRIOR who has a future over 5f.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A comfortable winner the last twice at Bath and Salisbury, FAIR DINKUM continues to go from strength to strength and a 7lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from landing the hat-trick on the step back up to 2m. Gelded since last seen bringing up a double at Southwell in March, Gemmari must be of interest on his return, along with Warrior King, who improved for this trip when second over C&D last month.

It may be worth taking a chance with HEDONISTA who is 12lb lower than when winning over C&D just over two years ago.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

BLUE TRAIN looked value for more than the winning margin when scoring over C&D last week. A 6lb penalty may not be enough to prevent him from going in again, with Rossa Ryan taking over in the saddle. Sir Patchy had the reopposing Marchetti (third) behind when runner-up over 1m here recently and both are likely to figure on the rise in distance, along with Chicago Storm, who was last seen on the level finishing third over 1m2f at Bath in April.

The vote goes to BLUE TRAIN who has a 6lb penalty for his win over C&D a week ago but remains unexposed over this far.
