RAILWAYVIEW LADY debuts over hurdles on only her second start for Gavin Cromwell and will likely know her job. A Navan maiden winner over 1m2f on the Flat, she wouldn't want the ground too soft but has form on yielding. Ronnies Rascal would prefer quicker going, although she does have recent placed form in maiden hurdles and cannot be ruled out, while Baby Pearl finished ahead of Casheldale Lass (third) when runner-up at Wexford in August and is taken to confirm superiority.

Morning Mayhem has continued to improve since his Cartmel victory in August, with runner-up efforts in more competitive events at Market Rasen and Chepstow. That said, the step back up in trip could prove to be a concern and CROOKED PATH, who was third at the Lincolnshire venue, has every chance of reversing the form. James Owen's gelding won over 2m3f at Fontwell last week and a 2lb rise may well be on the lenient side. John Barbour and Sunny South West appeal most of the remainder.

PUPPET MASTER won the Lingfield Derby Trial for Aidan O'Brien in 2025 and has subsequently shown ability both over hurdles and on the Flat for new connections. He defeated a subsequent winner to score over hurdles at Kilbeggan in August, and the son of Camelot finished a respectable third in the Amateur Riders Derby back on the level at the Currgah earlier this week. Friary Road reverts to hurdling with a shout on his best form, while Combs and Speisialta are not out of this either.

BULLETSNAP seems likely to head the market after the William Haggas-trained Minzaal colt bolted up by over six lengths at Ripon, making all of the running. Given a new mark of 87 ahead of his nursery debut, that may underestimate his abilities and soft ground should not be an issue. Glamorize won twice at Nottingham over the summer and she appeals as a slightly bigger danger than Furturra.

Bowensonfire improved plenty over hurdles last season, with a couple of victories at Leopardstown, and the six-year-old has shown promise since being switched to fences. Third in a Grade 3 at Gowran, the drop in trip is unlikely to be an issue but the progressive ICE JET may serve it up to him. Dan Skelton's charge got off the mark over fences in style at Uttoxeter last month and it is hard to know where his ceiling lies. Jarrive De Mee appears likely to benefit from cutting back in distance on his second run after a break.

A faller over fences on her last couple of starts, KATE KNOWS BEST could well bounce back reverting to the smaller obstacles. John Ryan's mare landed a maiden hurdle over C&D last season and, having faced a couple of tougher tasks in handicap hurdles subsequently, she looks on a tempting mark in this lower grade. Veteran Bella Union warrants plenty of respect, while Pralognan is capable at this level and is now tried in first-time blinkers. You Lift Me Up and Tropical Twist are others to note.

Brighton Boy is searching for his hat-trick after victories at Pontefract and Catterick, but a 5lb penalty and the move up in class are against him. City Captain is admirably consistent, with two wins and two places from his last four starts, but FINE INTERVIEW gets the nod. Successful last year off 6lb lower, his record at Doncaster is three wins from five appearances, all over this trip, and he handles the predicted ground better than most.

Loriko has enjoyed a progressive year, winning four times since May, but it has to be a concern how badly right he hung when third on his most recent start at Kelso. With that in mind, the claims of WONDERING WHY are difficult to ignore. Successful on his handicap bow at Warwick, the form of that contest has worked out particularly well and he arrives 2lb well-in compared to future events. Wild Goose and The Hardest Geezer are others who must enter the reckoning.

A chance is taken with the unexposed THE FLYING RAMBLER, who debuts in handicaps. The selection has been well held on his starts to date, but showed some improvement at Roscommon last month and might cope better with today's easy ground than his rivals. Andyourbirdcansing is a three-time course winner who scored over fences last month - she is clearly in top form but wouldn't want the ground to become testing to be seen at her best. Bowgate Street is an in-form course-and-distance winner who does handle soft ground, while veteran Finnians Row is a useful chaser who won over fences in June, but hasn't run over hurdles since August 2022.

HIGH KICK KEV can win on his seasonal reappearance if he adds to past efforts. By a good sire in Maxios and related to the 88 rated Port And Brandy, the selection showed promise in point-to-points including victory at Tallow last February prior to scoring in a Clonmel bumper in April. That form is nothing special but he stays well and will appreciate today's softening ground. The race-fit Gunnery Sergeant has form on soft ground but although he receives 8lb from the selection, he remains a nine-race maiden. La Muleta has shown nice ability on better ground recently but soft ground could be a concern.

DESERT ROMANCE displayed signs of inexperience when third at Newmarket on debut. Saying that, she showed enough to suggest she can score at this level and William Buick prefers her to stablemate and newcomer Snow Carnival. The selection may have more to fear from Fortis Fortuna, given William Haggas won last year's inaugural running with subsequent Listed winner Lilt, who made the frame on British Champions Day last weekend. Macha'allah is the first foal of Group 1 winner Saffron Beach and is another to note.

Calico bids for a third consecutive win in this race and his proven liking for Cheltenham is a major factor in his favour. However, the handicapper appears to be in charge now and running off 6lb higher than 12 months ago leaves him vulnerable. SKY LORD, on the other hand, is not fully exposed over fences and may be worth chancing from a more attractive mark. JPR One has a mixed record at this venue, but won't need to find much to be on the premises. In The Air and Traprain Law complete the shortlist.

DIADUIT BUACHAILL was last seen finishing fourth at Down Royal in April but, being a five-year-old, it is hoped he can progress further and deliver more this season. The selection's form prior to his last run was ordinary and having attracted strong market support that day, he failed to land a blow. He appears to be his yard's first string here, though, and he might appreciate the softer ground conditions. Veteran stablemate Full Noise was always in the rear on his latest start, but had been running well over fences previously. C&D winner Larkins Lane has useful recent form but might prefer better ground, while Magic Hands Noel showed some promise on her recent handicap debut.

MR HOLLYWOOD's last three starts on the Flat have come in the Queen Alexandra at Royal Ascot (third), the Ebor at York and the Group 1 Prix du Cadran in France. Not many, if any, of these are good enough to contest those types of races on the level, and he won a maiden hurdle at the Galway Festival, form which was franked by his stable companion in third when she bolted up at Listowel next time. Providing this doesn't come too soon after his Longchamp exertions, he could prove too classy for Kingstonian, who performed well in a Killarney maiden hurdle and has since contested the Irish Cesarewitch on the Flat. Cosmos D'ainay and Datstheholyallofit are also noted.

Experienced chaser UNION STATION might be able to gain an overdue first career success. Although undoubtedly frustrating to follow, the selection has shown some of his best form over staying distances and will have conditions to suit on this seasonal return. Its Time For A Run won a Downpatrick bumper in July and posted a creditable second over hurdles at Fairyhouse recently but although respected, softening ground is a slight concern. Colossal Impact has recorded a couple of respectable efforts in bumpers so far and is interesting stepped up markedly in trip on his hurdling bow.

BATTLE STANDARD showed little in his first three races which saw him gelded ahead of his handicap debut. After market support, he got off the mark with a three and a quarter length victory at Southwell that has seen the handicapper up him 12lb. Jack Morland's gelding gets to run here off his old mark and although racing over a furlong further, he wasn't stopping last time and ought to double up. Palliser was a neck second over C&D last week and seems a bigger danger than Yehudi or Ballybunion.

BIG HARRY won his maiden here last season and was having only his second start of the year when successful at Ayr last month. It was testing ground on both occasions, so William Stone's unexposed sprinter may well defy a 4lb rise for his latest success. Alpha Magic also scored on heavy going at Ayr last time and is taken to confirm running with Topwarrior (fourth), while Bone Marra will handle the underfoot conditions and drops in class with a shout.

Fairlawn Skipper is race-fit and arrives in good form following a Kelso success which suggested going back up in trip would suit. He's also got a top amateur in the plate and makes plenty of appeal but slight preference is for LITTLE LEDGEND, who is unbeaten in two starts since going chasing and has created sound impressions at Worcester in recent months. Brandt won narrowly at Galway and commands respect, as does Youdecide.

San Juanito could be interesting in first-time cheekpieces and although out of sorts recently, he has won here twice over C&D from three attempts, both off significantly higher marks. ALMARADA PRINCE has retained a competitive mark by only going up 2lb for winning at Pontefract and a chance is taken that he can strike again. Lipsink can be hit or miss in events such as this. However, he too has the ability to be a key player and is only 3lb above his winning mark at Musselburgh. The less-exposed Angel Gabriel and class-dropping Intense Vision are others to seriously consider.

Well treated by the conditions of this race, RIVER TRIEUX can gain a first career win. Sent off joint-favourite at Fairyhouse last time, the Paddy Twomey-trained filly didn't enjoy the clearest of passages before eventually finishing fifth. Although yet to race on the all-weather, there is nothing to suggest that the daughter of Havana Grey won't act around here and, if doing so, she looks the most likely winner. Recent C&D scorer Eleanor Shelby shouldn't be far away. Despite missing the break, the Joseph O'Brien-trained filly showed plenty of determination to get up close home for a narrow success. Near Perfection, who was only half a length back in third, also holds decent claims.

Late season maidens are tricky to solve but if Roger Varian's JAHAMI brings her best form she is by far the likeliest winner. Third on debut at Newcastle over 6f, she came close to getting off the mark with an unlucky head second at Southwell over 7f, when staying on strongly, and looks to make it third-time lucky over an added quarter mile. Wishful Thinker's Southwell third suggests she is on an upward curve and she could get the better of Sacred Moment for the places.

Dryburgh appeals after returning from a short break with a good second at Bath, while Mayaada went one better at Nottingham and steps back up in trip with reasonable claims. Others to note include Blue Wonder and Kokanee, who are both suited by this distance. Nevertheless, slender preference is for GEO, who won't mind the underfoot conditions and reverts to 1m2f with a live chance. She is reunited with Paul Mulrennan, who guided her to victory at Ayr last month.

A four-time winner at this track, MEHMAN can record a first success since January 2025. Despite reaching the frame on multiple occasions since, the son of Mehmas has dropped to an exploitable mark. Having shaped with plenty of promise when fifth here last time, the Pat Murphy-trained gelding can get his head back in front. Although the seven-year-old will require some luck in running given his hold-up style, Paddy Harnett looks the ideal pilot to adopt such tactics. Recent Curragh second Eichan San could provide the main threat. The Danny Murphy-trained four-year-old should enjoy coming off the likely fast pace. Rappell and Iff In Doubt can fight it out for minor honours.

STONEY WOOD has been far from consistent throughout his career so far, but Michael Bell's youngster did at least produce a career-best effort when second to an improver at Southwell last month. Further improvement might be enough to see the son of Cotai Glory break his maiden, although he did finish three lengths in arrears of Holliesthedollie when the pair met at Windsor - for all that rain-softened ground didn't appear to suit. Bath scorer Last Dandelion hasn't been done any favours with the draw so it might be that Time And Effort carries a bigger threat.

Runner-up on his stable debut over 5f here, BLUE ANTHEM can go one better. A three-time winner when trained in Britain, the gelding dropped a good way in the handicap before finishing second in a Laytown claimer. Having given the impression that he had more to offer when shaping nicely here subsequently, the four-year-old can strike under Dylan Browne McMonagle. Just touched off here last time, Boston Max has to be a serious contender in first-time cheekpieces and has every chance of giving jockey Nina Doherty a breakthrough success. Sovereign Banter needs to improve, but returning to this venue could well help him do so.

LANDLORDTOTHESTARS was given a few months off after recording a commanding C&D win back in July and while Tom Kiely-Marshall negates half of the 6lb rise incurred with his claim, it would come as no great surprise were he to follow up on his return. Brighton scorer Cayman Tai merits plenty of respect, as does the consistent Methgal, and don't rule out Way To Dubai, who wasn't beaten too far into third at Yarmouth last time.

Successful on his last two starts, the Henry de Bromhead-trained PREMIER VIEW can complete the hat-trick. A lightly-raced son of Invincible Army, the gelding was well beaten on his debut over 7f but has looked a different horse since dropping to the minimum trip. Well drawn for one who likes to race prominently, if he gets away smartly under Adam Grant, it will take a fair performance to catch him. Lake Lugano is an interesting contender on his first try at sprinting. Making the running over further of late, he could well appreciate this lesser test of stamina. Katty is another who has been shaping with promise over further.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS can land this feature race for the visiting team. A consistent performer at this sort of level, the Kevin Ryan-trained gelding is a smart sprinter who hits the gates well and races prominently. From his low draw, the six-year-old should gain a good early pitch under Shane Gray. C&D winner Ipanema Queen could fare best of the remainder. Having scorched to victory at Cork in July, the filly was highly tried in Group 1 company last time. In receipt of so much weight, the only juvenile in the line-up This Moment has to be respected.

HAUTELUCE was an impressive winner over this C&D 18 days ago and a 7lb rise might still underestimate the lightly-raced three-year-old. A draw in stall one could be ideal for this keen-going filly, who has now won two of her three starts in handicaps. First Ambition is another key player to consider, although Vincenzo Peruggia only went up 2lb for winning at Yarmouth and looks the main danger.

Having shaped with plenty of promise when fifth on his introduction at Naas, ASTROWAY can strike at the second time of asking. Short of room early in the straight, the David Marnane-trained gelding really knuckled down and galloped to the line once in the clear. Provided that he handles this surface, the son of Sealiway boasts leading claims. The Captains Day also ran a race full of promise when finishing sixth in a strong maiden at Punchestown last time. While a wide draw isn't ideal, the Michael O'Callaghan-trained colt has the services of Dylan Browne McMonagle. American Cowboy shouldn't be far away if building on a hugely promising debut here.

Johnny Murtagh, who has been finishing the season strongly, can land this finale with SAKOKU. Runner-up to a subsequent winner who is now rated 90 at Navan on her penultimate start, the filly gained valuable handicap experience at this track last time. A lightly-raced daughter of Sea The Stars, the Newtown Anner Stud owned three-year-old has further scope for improvement, and in what doesn't appear to be the strongest of maidens, she can get her head in front. Having shaped with promise on his recent stable debut, Shamrock Flame has to be respected for the Robson De Aguiar team, while Trustmore who was second over course and distance last time, has solid claims despite being drawn out wide.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
