1st (4) (4/6 +78%)North Of Richmond |
4/6(+78%) | (4) North Of Richmond 4/6, Showed improvement from his debut when second beaten a length in a bumper at Southwell last time; returns from a long layoff and holds an outside chance. Bumper winner; can win over hurdles soon but faces a tough opponent here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 +79%)Codetalker |
5/2(+79%) | (2) Codetalker 5/2, Stable took this race last year; made a promising hurdle debut when fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; this is his second run after wind surgery; effective at 2m and likely to stay further; should improve with experience. Belied 50-1 odds when a respectable fourth on rules debut; more needed here, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (33/1 +34%)Fox Cottage |
33/1(+34%) | (3) Fox Cottage 33/1, Made mistakes and still showed signs of greenness when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time; wears a hood for the first time; needs to find plenty more. Showed no significant promise when a big-priced outsider for first two hurdle races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 +20%)American Empire |
4/1(+20%) | (1) American Empire 4/1, Travelled well and showed some improvement from his debut when just out-battled by a more experienced rival, finishing second beaten 6 1/2l in a novice hurdle at Warwick last time; bumper winner effective over 2m on good ground. Placed on both hurdling starts but the form isn't anything to get too excited about. |

STORMING GEORGE impressed when he made a winning debut in a bumper at Doncaster in January. Subsequently pitched into a Grade 2 event at Aintree's Grand National fixture, the Neil King-trained five-year-old showed stacks of potential when finishing a respectable fifth and he looks a decent prospect tackling hurdles for the first time. North Of Richmond is another hurdling debutant to monitor closely in the betting, while American Empire is the pick of the trio with jumps experience.

Fifth in a hot Grade 2 Aintree bumper in April, STORMING GEORGE is a good prospect for novice hurdles this season.

1st (7) (5/4 +50%)Woolisle |
5/4(+50%) | (7) Woolisle 5/4, Ran to form but was just run out of things late, beaten 2 1/2l off 66 over 6f here last time. Effective at 5f and 6f, acts on soft and good ground, and this return to 5f may help on soft going. Runner-up from the front here (6f, heavy) six days ago; respected off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (12/1 -20%)Dragon Spin |
12/1(-20%) | (8) Dragon Spin 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 62 at Southwell last time. Effective at 5f and acts on good to firm ground. A consistent performer in a short career. Twice runner-up in five starts but needs to prove she can cope with the likely conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (28/1 -75%)Perineighs |
28/1(-75%) | (3) Perineighs 28/1, Below form with no obvious excuse when fourth, beaten 9 1/4l in a novice at Wolverhampton latest. Effective at 5f and acts on soft and good ground. May do better now contesting nurseries. Some early promise, but return to 5f seemed to find her out last time; nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (66/1 -32%)Dance Hello |
66/1(-32%) | (9) Dance Hello 66/1, Below form switching to handicaps and raced a bit wide when down the field in a nursery over 6f at Catterick most recent. Returns from a short break; effective at 5f and acts on good to soft and good to firm ground, dropping in trip after being well held on handicap debut. Modest in her first four starts; 3lb out of the weights and hard to recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 -50%)Master Harry |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Master Harry 6/1, Ran to form despite trouble at the start and needs marking up, beaten 1/2l off 67 at Catterick last time. Suited by 5f and acts on soft ground. An easy track may suit best and he has a chance from this mark. Second of four on nursery debut at Catterick (5f, soft) four weeks ago; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/1 -64%)Henrythenate |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Henrythenate 9/1, Ran to form off a new mark, showing good speed when fifth, beaten a length off 66 last time. Effective at 5f and acts on good ground; arrives in form though unproven on soft ground. Wolverhampton winner last month, but just behind U S S Charleston there last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (7/1 +30%)Alaskan Light |
7/1(+30%) | (2) Alaskan Light 7/1, Again below form and too keen when switching to the all-weather, beaten 6l in a nursery over 6f at Newcastle last time. Trainer in form. Suited by 5f and acts on good ground; down in trip and weights. Beat a total of one rival in two nurseries; return to 5f may help, but enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (5/1 +44%)Diamond Alexander |
5/1(+44%) | (1) Diamond Alexander 5/1, Outclassed up in grade and failed to see out the longer trip when down the field in a 2yo race over 6f at York last time. Returns from a short break and is effective at 5f on a sound surface, though may have been flattered in France. Hasn't built on her close second at Bath in June; it's unclear how well handicapped she is. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (11/1 -69%)U S S Charleston |
11/1(-69%) | (4) U S S Charleston 11/1, Ran to form but lacked pace when dropped slightly in trip, beaten 3/4l off 68 at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 5f and acts on good to soft and good to firm ground, though has a bit to prove back on soft ground. Twice runner-up in the summer and beaten less than a length on nursery debut; player. |

Woolisle posted her best effort yet when she finished second over 6f here last week. Having led that race from halfway and only headed in the closing stages, dropping back a furlong looks well worth exploring. However, MASTER HARRY is less exposed and his close second at Catterick was an equally progressive display. Running from the same mark, the Ann Duffield-trained colt shades preference based on potential. Dragon Spin and U S S Charleston complete the shortlist.

Preference is for MASTER HARRY who ran a previous winner close on his nursery debut at Catterick this month and remains unexposed.

1st (2) (6/4 +50%)Gentleman Toboot |
6/4(+50%) | (2) Gentleman Toboot 6/4, Improved again when just outbattled late under a penalty, finishing second beaten 2l in a 2m bumper at Chepstow last time. Returning from a long layoff; a 2m bumper winner suited by cut, and his point form suggests more to offer over further hurdles. Point winner who had record of 312 in bumpers last season; interesting on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/4 +0%)A Pai De Nom |
7/4(+0%) | (1) A Pai De Nom 7/4, Improved when stepped up in trip on hurdle debut after a wind operation, winning a maiden hurdle here by 2 1/2l last time. This is his second run after the procedure; effective from 2m to 2m5f with give and could defy his penalty. Landed the odds on hurdle debut over C&D last month; big player again under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/1 +9%)Tommy Pickles |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Tommy Pickles 5/1, Produced only a modest effort when well beaten in a 3m maiden at Ballycahane on sole start. Trainer in form and fitting a tongue-tie for the first time; a 3m point winner for whom 2m5f looks a suitable starting point under rules. Bought for £80,000 after an easy win in Irish point in January; in the mix on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (50/1 -79%)Border Gem |
50/1(-79%) | (8) Border Gem 50/1, Outpaced but ran to form on hurdle debut, probably needing the run when beaten 9l in a 2m maiden hurdle at Hereford last time. Showed promise in 2m bumpers on decent ground and could progress over hurdles, possibly over further. Down the field on hurdling debut at Hereford and needs improvement upped to this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6/1 +14%)Noahsgreatrainbow |
6/1(+14%) | (3) Noahsgreatrainbow 6/1, Made too much use of the pace and showed greenness, failing to build on his debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time. Returning from a long break; a 2m bumper winner suited by cut but yet to fire over hurdles. Bled from the nose when disappointing in both hurdle runs last season; had wind op since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (33/1 -65%)Thankyouandplease |
33/1(-65%) | (5) Thankyouandplease 33/1, Travelled well but found nothing for pressure up the hill, finishing 20l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time. Usually held up; difficult to recommend on recent evidence. 0-5 over hurdles and well held in handicap latest; has work to do on return for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (150/1 -50%)Pougie |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Pougie 150/1, Raced wide and was outpaced early, finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Exeter most recently. Acts with give but looks in need of a longer trip than 2m. Well held in three bumpers and tailed off in both hurdle runs (1m7f/2m) this spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (18/1 -140%)Alidam |
18/1(-140%) | (7) Alidam 18/1, Ran to form when 3 1/4l third in a 4yo hurdle over 2m2f at Auteuil last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective around 2 1/4m in France on soft ground, but more is required on his UK debut. Placed in three of his four hurdle runs in France; eac-way claims on British/stable debut. |

A 6lb penalty might not be enough to stop the Dan Skelton-trained A PAI DE NOM, who recorded a comfortable success over C&D on his hurdling bow last month. The son of Passing Glance gets the vote ahead of Alidam, as the booking of Harry Cobden on the latter could be noteworthy. The returning Gentleman Toboot makes some appeal, as does Thankyouandplease.

Top of the list is Dan Skelton's A PAI DE NOM, who made a good start over hurdles with his comfortable win over C&D last month.

1st (1) (10/11 +52%)Secret Des Dieux |
10/11(+52%) | (1) Secret Des Dieux 10/11, Returned to form when dropped in grade, benefitting from a positive ride at this sharp track. Taken on up front when fourth, beaten 7l in a handicap hurdle here last time; the pick on balance of form for a yard that won this last year. Course winner over hurdles when fresh last autumn; respected on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/1 +0%)Pottersjetamay |
4/1(+0%) | (4) Pottersjetamay 4/1, Keen early but ran to form when second, beaten 5l in a handicap chase here last time. Lacked the winner's speed late on and may stay a bit further. Gave good account when second of four over C&D in June; back from five-month break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/2 +30%)Iskar D'airy |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Iskar D'airy 7/2, Needed the run when comfortably held in a 2m2f handicap chase at Kempton last time. Had been in good form prior; effective at 2m and acts on good ground. Form franked and progressive in the spring. Triple chase winner in spring; made low-key return this month; this race is easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 -50%)Belle Montrose |
3/1(-50%) | (3) Belle Montrose 3/1, Travelled well and won comfortably, improving again back over fences when landing a handicap by 10l off 88 here last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and progressive over fences. Won comfortably over C&D 12 days ago and is now 2-3 over fences; obvious contender. |

BELLE MONTROSE hardly got out of first gear to land a three-runner mares chase over C&D 12 days ago. With the promise of plenty more to come, the daughter of Milan has a big chance of following up, especially as Benjamin Macey's 7lb claim effectively accounts for the majority of a 9lb rise. The winner of three of his last five starts, Iskar D'airy is feared most dropping in class after a recent return at Kempton. Pottersjetamay has track and trip experience and cannot be ruled out.

Chasing debutant SECRET DES DIEUX runs this track well and might outclass this field if he jumps soundly.

1st (8) (3/1 +75%)Edgewater Drive |
3/1(+75%) | (8) Edgewater Drive 3/1, Scored by 1/2l off 56 at Catterick on his penultimate start; too keen when stepped up in trip last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on heavy and good; erratic but this drop in trip should suit. Got up late over 5f at Catterick (soft) this month; neverf threatened at Leicester Tuesday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (20/1 -100%)Speed Of Maajid |
20/1(-100%) | (5) Speed Of Maajid 20/1, Below form in reapplied cheekpieces when well beaten in a handicap at Yarmouth last time; suited by 5f and acts on heavy and good; bit to prove on recent evidence. Won in June on handicap debut; last three starts were major backward steps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (12/1 -85%)Above |
12/1(-85%) | (3) Above 12/1, Well below form, running as though something amiss when beaten 10l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on any ground; too bad to be true latest. Bits of 2024 and 2025 turf form give him a good shout; recent efforts are less encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (3/1 -60%)Westgate Warrior |
3/1(-60%) | (7) Westgate Warrior 3/1, Improved to score with a bit to spare when landing a handicap by 2l off 59 here last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on soft, good to soft and all-weather; holds an obvious chance after that latest course and distance win. Front-running second at Beverley (5f, soft) was followed by a clearcut C&D win (good). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (15/2 -114%)Fuji Mountain |
15/2(-114%) | (4) Fuji Mountain 15/2, Took a step back in the right direction off a reduced mark when beaten 3/4l off 70 at Redcar last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on soft and good; on a fair mark and soft ground may be a help. Acts on soft; close third of 11 at Redcar 12 days ago was his first placing this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (15/2 +17%)Yazaman |
15/2(+17%) | (9) Yazaman 15/2, Again below form when dropped in trip and beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; suited by 5f and acts on any ground; an in-and-out performer with a visor now reapplied. Some plus points but he was never dangerous in Westgate Warrior's C&D race two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (13/2 +46%)High Opinion |
13/2(+46%) | (6) High Opinion 13/2, Again below form when beaten 7l in a handicap at Haydock last time; effective at 5f and acts on soft, good and all-weather; form has fallen away but he is a past course and distance winner. Two creditable minor honours this May/July but opposable on what he's done since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (5/1 +55%)Hi Lord |
5/1(+55%) | (1) Hi Lord 5/1, Again below form when racing wide from a reduced mark and beaten 4l off 73 at Musselburgh last time; effective at 5f and acts on soft; down again in the weights but has a bit to prove at present. Hasn't fared as well for his two new stables this year and other candidates are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (150/1 -200%)Victory Sound |
150/1(-200%) | (2) Victory Sound 150/1, Showed little again on first run since a wind operation and in new blinkers when down the field in a 7f handicap at Chelmsford last time; effective at 7/8f and acts on good and good to firm; yet to prove he's trained on and sprinting could suit. Thrown in on best 2024 efforts but having a poor 2025; had wind surgery before latest run. |

WESTGATE WARRIOR has improved of late and is a highly appealing option. Having revelled in a pace-setting role when making all to win over C&D a fortnight ago, a 6lb higher mark looks manageable for this low-mileage three-year-old. Above is better than he has managed the last twice and can figure from 3lb below his last winning mark. Fuji Mountain and High Opinion boast course form and have each-way appeal.

Roy Bowring's 3yo WESTGATE WARRIOR (nap) is finding his feet now and he's the only one in this field whose career is gaining momentum.

10/11(+67%) | (1) Spirits Bay 10/11, Probably will not stay after finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Cheltenham most recently; a speed and form selection with big class edge on his rivals down in grade. 0-5 last season but he's on dangerous mark and needs watching in market on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +49%)The Hardest Geezer |
10/3(+49%) | (2) The Hardest Geezer 10/3, Ran to form off a stiff mark when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Ludlow last time; had been in good form beforehand; returning from a long layoff and probably has a bit more to come. Unexposed 6yo but he needs to find more progress after 252 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (33/1 +0%)Lucky One |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Lucky One 33/1, Ran well below form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Dieppe most recently; effective at 2 1/2m and suited by cut, though has been inconsistent in France this year. On reduced mark but he's generally struggled for current yard and last win was in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 -33%)Public Enemy |
6/1(-33%) | (6) Public Enemy 6/1, Back to form up in trip and down in grade, getting first run at a sharp track when winning a novice hurdle at Stratford over 2m3f by 2l last time; trainer in form and holds a chance. 4yo who is 2-4 over hurdles and he's open to more progress; respected on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 -45%)Vaguely Royal |
16/1(-45%) | (5) Vaguely Royal 16/1, Outpaced and well held up in grade when finishing down the field in a handicap over 2m2f at Newmarket most recently; usually held up; effective at 2m on decent ground, and the mark looks about right. Useful Flat performer and he needs watching in market on handicap hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 -100%)Clotilda |
12/1(-100%) | (3) Clotilda 12/1, Outpaced and needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Chepstow most recently; effective at 2m, acts on good ground but probably better with some cut. Went close in final run last season but was tailed off on reappearance; risks attached. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (28/1 -180%)Zambezi Fix |
28/1(-180%) | (4) Zambezi Fix 28/1, Won this race last year and was second, beaten 4 1/2l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Chepstow latest; usually held up. Second in final two starts last season but he's not won since April 2024; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (28/1 +15%)Mach Ten |
28/1(+15%) | (10) Mach Ten 28/1, Outpaced and unsuited by the drop in trip when well beaten in a handicap hurdle here latest; second run after wind operation and returning from a break; needs to improve. 0-15 under both codes and has plenty to prove for new yard; 5lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (20/1 -400%)Green Sky |
20/1(-400%) | (7) Green Sky 20/1, Made a bit too much use of but returned to form down in grade when second, beaten a length, in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Ayr latest; tongue-tie first time; effective at 2m with cut; well treated on Irish form. 0-9 over hurdles but she changed hands for £28,000 in May; in the mix on stable debut. |

There are a few to consider, but it might pay to side with CLOTILDA. Paul Nicholls' filly was just touched off in a competitive premier handicap at Cheltenham in April, and was perhaps in need of the run at Chepstow on her return to action recently. This represents an ease in class and, with Freddie Keighley claiming a valuable 8lb, she may well bounce back. Dual hurdles winner Public Enemy is interesting, as is top weight Spirits Bay.

The pick is SPIRITS BAY (nap), who is well handicapped on his best efforts last season and has an in-form claimer booked on his return.

Three wins at 1m, two of them here; however, has regressed and these terms are tough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (50/1 +24%)Rock Basher |
50/1(+24%) | (9) Rock Basher 50/1, Found little when down the field in a 9f handicap at Punchestown most recently; effective from 8f to 10f and acts on this surface; has been in poor form throughout 2025. 15-race maiden with a basement handicap mark and he's hard to entertain here. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (28/1 -12%)She's Ideal |
28/1(-12%) | (14) She's Ideal 28/1, Needed the run when down the field in a 7f Gowran Park handicap last time; effective at 6f and handles good ground; bit to prove after a layoff. Showed a bit in maidens and the ground was slow for her 13l and 11l defeats in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6th (3) (6/1 -100%)Ze Do Asfalto |
6/1(-100%) | (3) Ze Do Asfalto 6/1, Yard has won two of the last nine renewals of this race; did too much too soon when beaten 9l in a 6f Curragh handicap last time; inconsistent but still well treated on best form; suited by 7f on this surface, also effective at 6f. Sole win was over 6f so has stamina to prove; does have one of the highest marks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (20/1 -25%)Calamint |

11/2(+45%) | (7) Hemight 11/2, Below form when flattening out late up in trip, finishing down the field in a 10f Curragh handicap last time; can be erratic; effective from 7f to 8f. Below par the last twice but has the ability to be involved at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (16/1 -300%)Secret Rock |
16/1(-300%) | (10) Secret Rock 16/1, Flattened out late when a bit below form up in trip, comfortably held in a 12f Bellewstown handicap last time; effective between 12f and 16f; has been in good form on the Flat this year and looks fairly treated. Only had five runs for this yard and been competitive in 1m3f/1m4f handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (13/8 +19%)Sea Eagle |
13/8(+19%) | (1) Sea Eagle 13/8, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Wexford last time; effective from 8f to 10f, suited by cut in the ground, though looks on a stiff mark. Three-time winner and has the highest mark here; 2nd over hurdles two runs back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (16/1 -100%)Timandi |
16/1(-100%) | (12) Timandi 16/1, Had too much to do after missing the break when beaten 8 1/4l in an 11f Naas handicap last time; blinkers on for the first time; could be finding some form; effective from 7f to 10f and handles this surface. Ran well in a 7f maiden here and again in a handicap on penultimate run; tries blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (66/1 -32%)Western Dreamer |
66/1(-32%) | (5) Western Dreamer 66/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a 9f handicap at Tipperary last time; usually held up; returning from a short break; yet to show much but effective between 7f and 10f, worth stepping back up in trip. Lightly raced but looks moderate and has a lot on her plate at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (8) (66/1 -164%)Munroh |
66/1(-164%) | (8) Munroh 66/1, Continued in poor form when down the field in a handicap here last time; out of form since moving from France; effective at 1m and usually suited by testing conditions. Won in France but not that competitive in eight runs since arriving in Ireland. |

SEA EAGLE is comfortably the highest-rated horse in this optional claimer and is one to take very seriously. He has been hurdling in recent times but, on his penultimate start on the Flat, he finished sixth in a handicap at the Curragh for horses rated up to 100. This is his first visit to Dundalk and the surface shouldn't be an issue as he won on the all-weather at Chelmsford City as a juvenile. First-time blinkers could eke out improvement from Timandi, while this trip is sharp for Secret Rock but he still appeals as a likely contender.

These terms bode well for SEA EAGLE. Although well behind over hurdles on Sunday, he ran well in that scene the time before.

10/11(+24%) | (5) Zahra Dodville 10/11, Stable took this race last year; ran to form when beaten 5l in a juvenile hurdle over 2m1f at Clairefontaine last time; effective at 2m and handles ground with some cut; yard excels with new recruits. Placed over hurdles in France; needs to be taken seriously on British debut. |

6/5(+52%) | (1) Manyana Blue 6/5, Keen, went clear, made too much use of when second beaten 11l in a juvenile hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time; effective at 2m on good ground; consistent performer. Won at Newton Abbot in August and made the frame on other five hurdling starts; big player. |

3rd (2) (50/1 -100%)Jazz Talking |
50/1(-100%) | (2) Jazz Talking 50/1, Made her move too soon and finished down the field in a handicap over 8f at Kempton most recently; has plenty to find. Unplaced all six Flat starts; makes limited appeal on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 -233%)Mystical Mabel |
10/1(-233%) | (4) Mystical Mabel 10/1, Fell in a juvenile hurdle at Kempton last time; had shown minor promise at 1m on the Flat; stable has a strong record with similar types over hurdles. Running well before jumping erratically and falling at penultimate flight on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (150/1 -355%)Madame Pomone |
150/1(-355%) | (3) Madame Pomone 150/1, Green and made mistakes on debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow; has everything to prove at this stage. Well beaten when 40-1 for debut at Ludlow (2m, good to firm) three weeks ago. |

MANYANA BLUE broke her duck over hurdles at Newton Abbot in August and did little wrong in filling the runner-up slot behind a couple of promising types in both starts since. The Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole-trained filly sets the standard and could be tough to overhaul. Zahra Dodville showed some promise in her three runs in France and is noteworthy, while Mystical Mabel ran green when she fell at Kempton on her hurdles debut and should be a good deal wiser.

Zahra Dodville is interesting but MANYANA BLUE has a pretty solid record in recent months and is taken to dominate from the front.

11/8(+8%) | (5) Hell Yeah He Did 11/8, Ran to a similar level to his previous start when a length third in a novice over 10f at Pontefract. Effective from 8f to 10f, acts on soft, and holds a leading chance dropped in distance. Salisbury 2nd (1m, heavy) sets the standard; close 3rd when 5-6 at Pontefract (1m2f, soft). |

2nd (7) (8/11 +42%)Masked Warrior |
8/11(+42%) | (7) Masked Warrior 8/11, The yard has won two of the last nine runnings of this race. Showed a fair level behind a big-priced winner on debut when third, beaten a length in a 7f Newbury novice. Trainer in form; effective at 7f and likely to improve upped in trip. 15-2, raced freely and always prominent when close third at Newbury (7f, good to soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (14/1 -17%)Temple |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Temple 14/1, Produced a modest debut, not finishing off his race when well beaten in a maiden at Newmarket on his only start. Bred for at least 8f and likely to improve from that initial effort. 575,000gns yearling; 22-1 at Newmarket (1m, good) and looked a longer-term project. |

5th (3) (28/1 -133%)Del Corso |
28/1(-133%) | (3) Del Corso 28/1, 6 Mar; Dubawi colt; full-brother to Kingdom Of Time, useful at 8f; worth watching in the market. By Dubawi out of sister to Highland Reel and Idaho; debutant but very much one to note. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (33/1 -200%)African Gib |
33/1(-200%) | (1) African Gib 33/1, Appeared to know his job and showed a fair level on debut when beaten 4 1/2l in a novice at Pontefract. Likely to want 10f or more on breeding and should build on that promising debut. Should improve but Pontefract debut was modest form and a lot better is surely required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (125/1 +0%)Guarantee |
125/1(+0%) | (4) Guarantee 125/1, Again well beaten, stopping quickly in first-time blinkers when well beaten in a maiden over 10f at Goodwood last time. Bred to want 10-12f but has all to prove after trailing home well beaten in both starts. Heavy defeats on both starts in September when trained by David Loughnane. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

14/1(0%) | (9) Ziggy's Avenger 14/1, 9 Feb; 82,000gns Space Blues colt; half-brother to Beat The Clock, fair at 9f; dam useful at 7f at 2yo; wide draw. 50,000gns foal, 82,000gns yearling by Space Blues; dam 1m winner (RPR 74). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (150/1 -20%)Just Call Me Mo |
150/1(-20%) | (6) Just Call Me Mo 150/1, Made a modest debut, never posing a threat when well beaten in a maiden at Kempton on his only start. Drawn wide; bred for 8-12f and may need more time. 150-1, 19l eighth of 13 in maiden at Kempton (1m, AW) two weeks ago, slowly away. |

The progressive HELL YEAH HE DID sits on an official rating of 85 and could dominate this maiden if running up to that mark. Masked Warrior was a respectable third behind a couple of more experienced rivals when introduced over 7f at Newbury. He may have more to offer over this longer trip. The betting market should be a useful guide where the newcomers Del Corso, Ziggy's Avenger and Bay Royale are concerned.

Hell Yeah He Did's latest run hints that the door may be open for MASKED WARRIOR whose debut at Newbury contained plenty of promise.

Progressive at 2m on good ground and may stay a little further. Record since returning in July reads 113112 including a win over C&D; a player. |

2nd (3) (11/4 +21%)Bond Broker |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Bond Broker 11/4, Keen and went clear when making too much use of himself on chase debut but still ran to form when second, beaten 13l in a 2m3f handicap chase at Ffos Las. Likes to lead and can improve when settling in front. Did too much early on chase debut (2m3f), but this sharp 2m may prove ideal; has won fresh. |

3rd (5) (13/8 +28%)Quantock Hills |
13/8(+28%) | (5) Quantock Hills 13/8, Ran to form when beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time and looks the pick on overall form with promise of more to come over fences. Three-time winner over hurdles; watch market on chase debut after six months off. |

4th (4) (22/1 -300%)Hystery Bere |
22/1(-300%) | (4) Hystery Bere 22/1, Pulled up in a 3m handicap chase at Huntingdon last time; holds a small chance if bouncing back though may find this on the sharp side. Has won fresh, but a speed test like this may not be ideal for him now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (9/2 -13%)Lunar Discovery |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Lunar Discovery 9/2, Ran to form when flattening out late over a stretching trip, finishing fourth beaten 5l in a 2m5f handicap chase at Market Rasen last time. Cheekpieces applied for the first time. Effective from 2m to 2½m, handles any ground, and fairly treated. Back down in grade, this sharp 2m may not be a sufficient test for her now; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (28/1 -40%)Universal Secret |
28/1(-40%) | (6) Universal Secret 28/1, Had every chance when finishing 7l third in a 2m5f handicap chase here on his most recent outing. Needs to find some improvement. Hard to make a case for from 14lb out of the weights. |

BREAKING COVER came up short when bidding for a hat-trick last time out, but with race fitness on his side, he is expected to regain the winning thread. Anthony Honeyball's gelding remains open to improvement over fences too, and he could prove too strong for Lunar Discovery, who was fourth at Market Rasen earlier this month. Chasing debutant Quantock Hills is also noted.

The sharp 2m could prove ideal for BOND BROKER who did far too much early on his chase debut over 3f further at Ffos Las in May.

5/2(+50%) | (2) Daler 5/2, Ran to form when beaten 6l in a maiden at Cork last time. The mark looks fair. Effective from 7f to 9f and worth stepping back up to 1m. Acts on the all-weather. 0-9 but consistent and dropped to a mark he can probably win off; now gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/2 +8%)Comfort Line |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Comfort Line 11/2, Yard won this race last year. Never threatened when fourth, beaten 10l, in a handicap over 7f at Leopardstown last time. Effective 7-8f on all-weather and now down to an attractive mark if building on that run. Close up on turf three runs back and excuses since then; very effective here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (40/1 -21%)Moondharrig |
40/1(-21%) | (10) Moondharrig 40/1, Ran to current form when beaten 7¼l in a claimer over 11f here last time. Effective around 10f and appears better on all-weather these days. Out of form and slow starts remain an issue. Little in the way of worthwhile form since winning over 1m2f here in April 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (5/1 -67%)Punk Poet |
5/1(-67%) | (8) Punk Poet 5/1, Quickened and ran to form when suited by a positive ride, landing a handicap by a neck off 57 here last time. Enjoys making the running; effective 7-8f and best on all-weather. Still well treated on old efforts and remains competitive. Multiple winner and made all for a narrow success over C&D a month ago; drawn wide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (22/1 -175%)Burford Beauty |
22/1(-175%) | (7) Burford Beauty 22/1, Bit below form when beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Down Royal last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather. Could bounce back. Beaten a little over 5l in 1m/7f handicaps, last time finishing behind Port Louis. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (14/1 -40%)Church Mountain |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Church Mountain 14/1, Won by a head off 60 over 11f here three starts back. Below form up in grade when tenth, beaten 7l off 69 last time. Effective 8-10f, enjoys the all-weather, and remains well treated on old form but unreliable. May prefer further these days and good days are becoming hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (11/1 +56%)William F Browne |
11/1(+56%) | (12) William F Browne 11/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a handicap at Bellewstown last time. Effective 7-8f, acts on all-weather, and suited by positive handling but unreliable. Has surprisingly lost way since going close in a big-field 1m handicap at Galway in August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (10/1 +0%)Not Simple |
10/1(+0%) | (13) Not Simple 10/1, Won by 2l off 51 over 7f at Cork two starts back. Ran to form but flattened out late when ninth, beaten 11l off 62, at a stiff track last time. Effective 6-8f and acts on all-weather; progressing though the handicapper has reacted. Never involved over 1m2f last time but she's a lightly raced 7f winner; 1m could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (33/1 -500%)Star Mind |
33/1(-500%) | (4) Star Mind 33/1, Landed a handicap by 1/2l off 62 over 7f at Naas two starts back. Poorly placed after missing the break in a race dominated from the front when comfortably held in a claimer last time. Effective 7-8f on all-weather and remains well treated on old UK form. Won a 7f Naas handicap before a slow start did for her when favourite at Gowran. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (50/1 -52%)Cezarro |
50/1(-52%) | (14) Cezarro 50/1, Up in trip and may not have stayed when down the field in a handicap over 11f at Naas last time. Needs to bounce back after a couple of below-par runs. Effective at 1m on all-weather. Blinkers sported for his best run yet could trigger a return to form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (16/1 -60%)Port Louis |
16/1(-60%) | (5) Port Louis 16/1, May have found the ground too soft when down the field in a handicap at Bellewstown last time. Effective from 7f to 1m and acts on all-weather. Fair mark and was in form until that latest run. Dual turf winner probably in fair form; nothing to show from four previous visits here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (13/2 +59%)Ransom |
13/2(+59%) | (1) Ransom 13/2, Unsuited by heavy ground when finishing down the field in a handicap at The Curragh last time. Trainer in form. Effective over 7f to 1m on a sound surface; form is in and out, and slow starts remain an issue. Poor on grass the last twice but has a good record of 5-24 on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (22/1 -57%)Imperial Fighter |
22/1(-57%) | (9) Imperial Fighter 22/1, Below form when looking in need of a stiffer test, beaten 8l in a handicap over 7f at Leopardstown last time. Effective 7-9f and suited by all-weather. Remains well treated on UK form. Class act back in the day but this is now his level; ran well two starts ago (March). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (11) (33/1 0%)Bucaneer's Spirit |
33/1(0%) | (11) Bucaneer's Spirit 33/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a handicap over 10f at The Curragh last time. Effective 8-10f and worth stepping back up in trip. Inconsistent of late. Won a turf claimer in July but hasn't pressed on from a respectable debut for current yard. |

DALER has been finishing his races well and could get his turn. He has plenty of placed form in maidens and is unexposed on the Polytrack, having made two appearances here including when a never-nearer third over 7f in August. The veteran Punk Poet had been threatening to get his head back in front and did so by a neck over C&D last month. The handicapper gave him 6lb for that and he races in a higher grade now, but he ought to be in the thick of the action as a Dundalk specialist. Not Simple is interesting on her first appearance on Polytrack. She was good enough to win a big-field handicap over 7f at Cork in September.

The suggestion is COMFORT LINE who could run around here with his eyes shut. He's had excuses on turf the last twice.

11/8(+31%) | (2) Karavomylos 11/8, No obvious excuse when well beaten in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; on a good mark based on hurdle form and can win when tidying up his jumping. Reverts to fences on a good mark and a major player if back on song after wind surgery.. |

3rd (5) (9/2 +72%)Damekap |
9/2(+72%) | (5) Damekap 9/2, Raced wide and ran to form when tiring late on after stepping up in trip on return from a break; comfortably held in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee but remains in the mix. Major turnaround in form is needed on chase debut from 10lb out of the weights.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 -36%)Midnight Gold |
15/2(-36%) | (1) Midnight Gold 15/2, Unseated in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Fontwell last time; effective between 2½m and 3m. Out of sorts since back from break and looked held when unseating on chase debut latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (13/2 +0%)Ballygelly |
13/2(+0%) | (4) Ballygelly 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Warwick last time; looks the pick on race times. Won C&D match in April but pulled up next time and has a bit to prove back from a break.. |

Despite lacking fluency at Huntingdon most recently, it was a much better performance from REFORME. Tom Gretton's charge went down by a head and although raised 2lb for that effort, a similar display could suffice. Karavomylos has been sent off as favourite on both of his chasing starts to date and recent wind surgery could work the oracle, while Ballygelly appeals most of the remainder.

Reforme needs respecting but KARAVOMYLOS gets the vote in a trappy contest on his return from wind surgery.

1st (4) (2/1 -45%)Ice Max |
2/1(-45%) | (4) Ice Max 2/1, Ran to his best, appreciating a drop in grade when winning a York handicap by 1 1/4l last time. Trainer in form and well suited by a sharp 8f; acts well on an easy surface, ground in favour and this level should suit. Acts on soft; several runs (not just the handicap win on latest) make him the form pick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/1 +8%)Ebt's Guard |
6/1(+8%) | (3) Ebt's Guard 6/1, Improved when dropped in trip to finish second, beaten a neck, in a handicap at Ascot last time. Best at 8f, acts on soft and good to firm ground; tough, progressive and capable up in grade. Has mostly run well in warm 7f/1m handicaps this season, never better than Ascot latest. |

3rd (2) (10/1 +17%)Cerulean Bay |
10/1(+17%) | (2) Cerulean Bay 10/1, Below form with no obvious excuse when beaten 7l in a handicap at Ascot last time. Had been in good form beforehand and is effective at 8f, acting on soft and good to firm ground; needs to bounce back stepped up in grade. Goodwood double before only mid-division in valuable handicap at Ascot 11 days ago. |

4th (6) (15/2 +12%)Fondo Blanco |
15/2(+12%) | (6) Fondo Blanco 15/2, Improved and well placed when stepping up in trip to win a Haydock handicap by 4 1/2l last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on any ground; consistent and respected now up in grade. First crack at 1m suited him very well last time but another step forward is required. |

5th (5) (11/2 +0%)Prague |
11/2(+0%) | (5) Prague 11/2, Probably out of his depth and didn't seem to stay 10f at this level when down the field in the Champion Stakes (Group 1) at Ascot last time. Suited by 1m and acts on a sound surface, though better with some give; not been in best form. No 2025 races were on softer than good, so he could be of renewed interest on this surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (40/1 -43%)Sunlit Uplands |
40/1(-43%) | (8) Sunlit Uplands 40/1, Improved up in trip and grade, making late gains off a steady pace when beaten 3l in the Prix Coronation (Listed) at Saint-Cloud last time. In good form prior; effective from 6f to 8f, acts well on soft, but may be vulnerable against males. Unfinished business at this trip after one attempt, but she has work to do on the ratings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (4/1 +27%)Treble Tee |
4/1(+27%) | (7) Treble Tee 4/1, Ran a bit below form in the Cambridgeshire, possibly stretched by the longer trip when beaten 6l over 9f at Newmarket last time. In good form prior; suited by 1m and acts on soft and good to firm; up in grade but has a good chance down in trip. Perhaps stretched by 1m1f in the Cambridgeshire; may still do better and is not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (16/1 -14%)Beshtani |
16/1(-14%) | (1) Beshtani 16/1, Didn't get the stiff mile when beaten 8l in the Fortune Stakes (Listed) at Sandown last time. In excellent form in major handicaps in 2024 before that and returns from a very long break. Off since a modest display last September; a leading contender if at the top of his game. |

Ice Max returns to Pattern level with obvious claims, having defied top-weight in a competitive York handicap, while Ebt's Guard, who was beaten a neck in the Balmoral on Champions Day recently, deserves to take his chance up in class. However, although not at his best since winning the Joel Stakes last September, it might be worth giving another chance to PRAGUE. Outclassed in the Champion Stakes latest, the son of Galileo has much less on his plate today and will not have many better opportunities in which to prove himself.

Beshtani's 406-day absence leaves ICE MAX as the clear form pick. The chief danger may be Ebt's Guard.

1st (3) (3/1 -9%)J J Moon |
3/1(-9%) | (3) J J Moon 3/1, Did it readily and outclassed rivals down in grade when winning a maiden hurdle at Exeter by 1/2l last time; trainer in form; effective around 2 1/2m and likely has more to offer in handicaps. Exeter winner who is still unexposed over hurdles and he's respected on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/1 +80%)Ambion View |
4/1(+80%) | (5) Ambion View 4/1, Below form up in trip and may have found the ground too quick when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton latest; looks the pick on race times. Struggled on handicap debut in April and needs to resume his progress on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (3/1 -9%)King Of The Lake |
3/1(-9%) | (2) King Of The Lake 3/1, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off a mark of 113 over 2m1f at Exeter last time; a contender. Won three in a row in the spring and he's open to more progress this season; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/4 +13%)Kayf Dancer |
7/4(+13%) | (4) Kayf Dancer 7/4, Went clear and did it comfortably, improving again up in trip when winning a maiden hurdle at Exeter by 19l last time; effective around 2 1/2m, acts on any ground, and his maiden form has been franked at top level. Trounced two rivals at Exeter in March and he's an interesting contender on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (125/1 -213%)Road Senam |
125/1(-213%) | (6) Road Senam 125/1, Outclassed and comfortably held in a Listed chase at Nantes last time; absent for a very lengthy period; effective over 2 1/2m and suited by cut; a chase winner in France and fairly treated on old form. Dual chase winner in France but makes stable debut after a long absence; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (18/1 -29%)Punta Del Este |
18/1(-29%) | (1) Punta Del Este 18/1, Made too much use of and wants easier ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter latest; a value selection on the balance of form. Struggled in both runs for current yard and needs a major revival after wind surgery. |

KAYF DANCER has stepped forward with each run over hurdles with his third to The New Lion at Chepstow last October followed up with a wide-margin success at Exeter in March. Open to improvement on his handicap debut, the seven-year-old gets the vote at the main expense of King Of The Lake, who landed a hat-trick at Exeter when last seen and may well have more to offer. J J Moon completes the shortlist.

Preference is for KING OF THE LAKE, who is unbeaten in three runs since wind surgery and could continue on an upward curve this season.

1st (4) (25/1 -25%)Albion Power |
25/1(-25%) | (4) Albion Power 25/1, Outpaced and a bit below form when beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap over 7f here last time; effective at 7f and suited by the all-weather; probably a bit flattered by maiden win which has had knocks. Not a lot to show for four runs since winning a 7f maiden here in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/1 +18%)Auburn Avenue |
9/1(+18%) | (9) Auburn Avenue 9/1, Poorly placed off a modest pace when beaten 8l in a handicap at Navan last time; in good form prior and off a short break; effective 8-9f; a frustrating maiden but on a workable mark. She ran second over 1m2f here in July and perhaps better at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (12/1 +0%)Rampage |
12/1(+0%) | (12) Rampage 12/1, Did too much too soon when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at The Curragh last time; effective 8-9f on the all-weather; generally consistent. C&D winner in July; not the easiest to win with at the best of times but feasibly treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/3 +26%)No More Porter |
10/3(+26%) | (1) No More Porter 10/3, Yard won this last year; back to form when beaten 1/2l off 69 over 11f here last time; effective 7-8f on the all-weather; not the force of old but well handicapped if building on latest. Well handicapped and came from off the pace to be second over 1m2f here recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/3 +39%)Oiche Rua |
10/3(+39%) | (7) Oiche Rua 10/3, Yard won this last year; ran to form when fourth beaten 4l in a handicap over 7f here last time; effective 7-8f on the all-weather; recent form franked and remains competitive. Come from well off the pace to run respectably here last twice over 7f; both wins at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (18/1 -29%)Battle Borne |
18/1(-29%) | (14) Battle Borne 18/1, Ran to form when beaten 10l in a maiden at Leopardstown last time; off a short break; effective 7-9f on the all-weather; consistent and opening mark looks fair. Minor promise in maidens but gelded ahead of handicap debut and needs a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (9/2 -50%)Sierra De Gredos |
9/2(-50%) | (3) Sierra De Gredos 9/2, Scored by 1 1/4l off 57 here three starts back; ran to form when second beaten 2 1/2l off 66 last time; effective 7-8f on sound surface; steadily progressive and mark still looks fair. Had some of these behind when never far away over 7f 19 days ago; solid back at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (12/1 -50%)Brains |
12/1(-50%) | (10) Brains 12/1, Did too much too soon when beaten 7l in a handicap over 7f at The Curragh last time; effective 7-8f on the all-weather; had been in decent form until latest and looks on a workable mark. Never dismissed around here and there has been the odd good run this year on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (11/1 -10%)Late Night Talking |
11/1(-10%) | (8) Late Night Talking 11/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 9l in a handicap at Roscommon last time; in good form prior; cheekpieces first time; effective 6-8f on the all-weather; inconsistent. No wins in 14 but best form has been on the AW; second in a claimer two runs back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (16/1 +11%)Green Icon |
16/1(+11%) | (5) Green Icon 16/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f here last time; appears best at 1m; inconsistent of late. Third of 21 on turf three runs back; better drawn than when never involved here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (33/1 -136%)Hurricane Helen |
33/1(-136%) | (2) Hurricane Helen 33/1, Failed to build on debut when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Navan last time; effective 8-10f on sound surface; in career-best form of late. Quiet over hurdles the last twice but wouldn't read much into that; capable on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (16/1 -14%)Just Jump |
16/1(-14%) | (11) Just Jump 16/1, Never threatened having missed the break when beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap over 7f at Gowran Park last time; effective 5-6f on the all-weather; back in form and well treated on 2yo all-weather runs. Won a Bellewstown claimer earlier this month but well beaten in handicaps since then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (50/1 -52%)Brosna Green |
50/1(-52%) | (13) Brosna Green 50/1, Unseated in a claimer over 7f here last time; effective at 7f and all best form has come on the all-weather; inconsistent. Unseated early in a claimer five days ago; behind some of these the run before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (20/1 -25%)Chavajod |
20/1(-25%) | (6) Chavajod 20/1, No obvious excuse when finishing down the field in a handicap at Gowran Park last time; off a short break; best at 1m and an inconsistent veteran now back below last winning mark. Form to feature but he has been hard to predict regardless of headgear. |

NO MORE PORTER has strong claims on this drop in trip. He kept on for third in a much-higher grade over 1m at the Curragh during the summer. It was a similar story when he finished with a flourish for second over further at this venue just under a fortnight ago. Sierra De Gredos is holding his form and has a shot at a fourth career success. The four-year-old has two turf victories from Gowran Park in the book and delivered over C&D last month. Since then, he has posted two runner-up berths at Dundalk. The last time Rampage visited this track he won in July and is more than capable of a good run off his mark.

Sierra De Gredos is respected but OICHE RUA (nap) could reverse recent course placings now she's back over her winning trip.

3/1(+0%) | (2) Basilette 3/1, Improved when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off 90 over 2m3f at Stratford last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/4m on sharp tracks and needs a sound surface; steadily progressing. 4lb higher than for recent Stratford win, but she continues in form and needs respecting.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (15/2 +46%)Lusso Milan |
15/2(+46%) | (9) Lusso Milan 15/2, A bit free but ran to form when 8 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle at Stratford last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and has handled cut in bumpers; inconsistent maiden. Shaped promisingly when third on second start for the stable latest; worth considering.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/3 +0%)One Million Dreams |
10/3(+0%) | (3) One Million Dreams 10/3, Scored by a length off 62 over 12f at Brighton on his penultimate start. Ran to form despite being wide when second beaten 1/2l off 66 last time. Flat wins at 1m5f/1m4f; no impact over hurdles but has S Bowen up for yard/handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (25/1 -213%)Alvesta |
25/1(-213%) | (5) Alvesta 25/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 55 over 12f at Leicester last time. Returning from a break and looks the pick on the balance of form. Shown promise over hurdles and could have handicap scope returning from a break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/1 +44%)Pottersmattyeeehaa |
9/1(+44%) | (6) Pottersmattyeeehaa 9/1, Outpaced and had too much to do but ran to form when 12l third on handicap debut in a hurdle at Southwell last time. Returning from a break; may prefer a slightly stiffer test. More likely required if he's to defy this sort of mark based on June's handicap debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (5/2 +82%)Hello Sweety |
5/2(+82%) | (10) Hello Sweety 5/2, Keen and needed the run when 16l third in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. This is her second run after a wind operation; effective at 2m and acts on good ground. Not yet fully exposed but needs to build on last month's encouraging Uttoxeter third.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (7/1 +30%)Golden Dove |
7/1(+30%) | (1) Golden Dove 7/1, Made her move too soon and was comfortably held in a handicap over 12f at Kempton last time. Effective at 2m on good ground; inconsistent over short hurdles but could do better based on flat form. More likely required but unexposed but shaped encouragingly on latest hurdle start.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (40/1 -122%)Noble Miss |
40/1(-122%) | (7) Noble Miss 40/1, Pulled her way to the front and did too much too soon when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time. A 2m bumper winner on good ground; needs more hurdling experience and must settle better. Makes handicap debut with her jockey's claim a help, but she has plenty to prove.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (125/1 -150%)Ramaah |
125/1(-150%) | (8) Ramaah 125/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground; yet to show much over hurdles. Pulled up on handicap debut and hard to make a case for back from a break.. |

BASILETTE had been threatening prior to her recent Stratford triumph and if coping with a drop in trip, it is unlikely that a subsequent 4lb rise will be any barrier to further success. Matt Crawley saddles two, of which Pottersmattyeeehaa could be the main threat, but James Owen often does well with his new recruits and the ex-Irish Keep It Cool warrants plenty of respect.

Keep It Cool and Basilette are feared but a chance is taken on LUSSO MILAN opening her account after a promising run last time.

1st (3) (2/1 -14%)Sea Poetry |
2/1(-14%) | (3) Sea Poetry 2/1, Ran to form despite being behind early when beaten 3l off 81 over 8f here last time. Effective at 7/8f and acts on soft and good ground; likely to improve for this longer trip. Late gains into fourth here (1m) last time, closing to within a short head of Love Beach. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/2 +8%)Son Of Man |
11/2(+8%) | (1) Son Of Man 11/2, Ran a touch below form when fourth beaten 4l in an 11f Kempton handicap last time, wearing added cheekpieces. Suited by 10f, acts on any ground, and prefers testing conditions; the drop in trip should help with no headgear this time. Third at Sandown (1m2f, soft) on penultimate start makes him of some interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/4 -38%)Love Beach |
11/4(-38%) | (2) Love Beach 11/4, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 84 over 8f here last time, shaping as though a return to further would suit. Effective at 8/9f and handles ground with cut; his mark remains slightly high but another try at this trip looks worthwhile. Lesser displays over 1m2f (good) and 1m1f (soft) seem to dent his prospects. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 +56%)Newtown Duke |
4/1(+56%) | (5) Newtown Duke 4/1, Didn't get home when switching to the all-weather, beaten 7l in a Newcastle handicap last time, but had been in good form prior. Effective from 10-12f and acts on easy ground; yet to match his Irish maiden form but his mark is easing. Big shout judged on staying-on third at Carlisle (1m1f, soft) in July, despite hanging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 +15%)Beach Point |
11/2(+15%) | (4) Beach Point 11/2, Won by a nose off 73 at Sandown three starts ago. Took a step back in the right direction when fifth beaten 4l off 77 last time, having made his move too soon. Trainer in form; suited by 10f, acts on any ground, and mark remains competitive. 5th of 14 over C&D (good to soft) latest was creditable; probably needs to resume progress. |

There was little to separate SEA POETRY (fourth) and Love Beach (third) over the extended mile here three weeks ago, but the former has long shaped as though a step up in trip would suit and it is her that shades preference. That being said, the pair are likely to be closely matched so neither scenario would come as a surprise. Son Of Man didn't run too badly at Kempton latest and he could edge out Beach Point, who has been in the grip of the handicapper recently.

The decision is tricky but SEA POETRY shaped last time as if she has untapped potential over this new, longer trip.

3/1(+25%) | (3) Royal Jewel 3/1, From a yard that won this race last year. Travelled well but did not find much and was possibly outstayed in testing conditions when third, beaten 17l, in a handicap chase here most recently. Still has potential as a chaser but he needs to find extra stamina reserves on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/1 -13%)Joe Cotton |
9/1(-13%) | (9) Joe Cotton 9/1, Ran to form when beaten 1¼l off a mark of 105 over 2m4f at Plumpton last time. Has a bit to find. Reliable type who is a dual chase winner and he's respected on his return. |

12/1(-41%) | (4) Sherborne 12/1, Returned to form after a break when second, beaten 7l, in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Stratford last time. Effective around 2½m and acts on any ground. Largely consistent chaser who ran well at Stratford (2m6f) on his reappearance; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/1 -40%)Super Sabre Sam |
7/1(-40%) | (5) Super Sabre Sam 7/1, Ran to form and appreciated a more positive ride when landing a handicap by 3l off a mark of 110 over 2m6f at Fontwell last time. Consistent and a threat. Won his last hurdle start and he's a brother to a useful chaser; interesting on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (13/2 +54%)Castelfort |
13/2(+54%) | (2) Castelfort 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time. The trainer is in form and he has a chance. Triple hurdle winner who should have a future as a staying chaser; one to keep an eye on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (18/1 -125%)Theformismighty |
18/1(-125%) | (1) Theformismighty 18/1, Outpaced and never travelled when finishing fourth, beaten 85l, in the Intermediate Chase here last time. Usually held up; effective from 2½m to 3m and acts on good to soft and soft ground. Form dipped in spring but the handicapper has eased him. On dangerous mark but he's been out of sorts in last two runs and needs a major revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 +28%)No Tackle |
18/1(+28%) | (7) No Tackle 18/1, Keen and below form when outclassed up in grade, well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Sandown last time. Still in the mix. Dual chase winner but he has a very patchy profile and comes with risks attached on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (28/1 +15%)Givehimthehonour |
28/1(+15%) | (10) Givehimthehonour 28/1, Possibly something was amiss when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Wincanton last time. Returning from a long layoff. 0-12 under rules and he needs a transformation after 256 days off; had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (7/2 +13%)Buckna |
7/2(+13%) | (6) Buckna 7/2, Possibly hit the front too soon when second, beaten 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Warwick last time. Effective around 2½m; in fair form through the winter and looks on a workable mark. Expensive to follow over hurdles but this point winner looks interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (14/1 -27%)John W Creasy |
14/1(-27%) | (11) John W Creasy 14/1, Travelled well and idled, nearly throwing it away, but improved down in grade under positive handling to land a handicap by a short head off 87 over 2m3f at Ffos Las last time. Probably has a bit more to come. Won at Ffos Las in February but this is much tougher from out of the weights on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (17/2 +15%)Pachacuti |
17/2(+15%) | (8) Pachacuti 17/2, Well backed but out of form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Newbury last time. Better over fences and looks a value selection on the balance of his form. Resumes on workable mark but he's hard to predict and is 1-10 over fences; down the list. |

SHERBORNE returned from a break to fill the runner-up spot at Stratford and this may be the time to catch Joe Tizzard's gelding on his second run after wind surgery. Buckna proved to be mostly consistent in novice/maiden hurdles last season and the switch to fences offers him a chance to progress. Joe Cotton and Royal Jewel are others likely to be in the mix.

An open race in which JOE COTTON gets the vote ahead of chase debutants Super Sabre Sam and Castlefort.

500/1(-400%) | (11) Sazerac Dance 500/1, Made too much use of and finished down the field in a maiden here on her latest start. Bred to be suited by around 7f and probably one for further down the line. In rear in maidens at Naas and over C&D, can be left out of calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) (100/1 -150%)Yesnia |
100/1(-150%) | (14) Yesnia 100/1, 23 Apr; 50,000 euros Kodiac filly; half-sister to Wegotogether, useful at 7f; dam very useful at 7f at 2yo; hood first time. Dam 6f 2yo winner is sister to a winner and half-sister to two 7f Group 3 winners, hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (7) (200/1 -400%)Luahna |
200/1(-400%) | (7) Luahna 200/1, Too green to show anything on debut when well beaten in a maiden here on her only start. Bred to want 1m or further; in good hands but plenty more needed. 9-2 on debut over C&D, slowly away and never in contention, massive improvement needed. |

PURELY didn't have the clearest passage on debut at Naas and looked like she would learn plenty from that run over six furlongs. Stepping up in trip now should help and she tops the shortlist. Stablemate Take A Bow was a solid enough third to another Ballydoyle filly, Minerva, at Leopardstown last time and has to be a big player as well. Anushka and Running Point also have placed form in the book and are others that have to be on the shortlist.

This extra furlong should suit Henry de Bromhead's runner ANUSHKA who was noted running on into third in a 6f maiden at Navan

1st (5) (3/1 +25%)Fancy Stuff |
3/1(+25%) | (5) Fancy Stuff 3/1, A bit free back from a break when fourth, beaten 21l, in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Chepstow last time. Effective over 2½m and the handicapper has relented. Ran well for a long way on this month's return and could build on that back up in trip.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 -17%)Gata Ban |
7/2(-17%) | (4) Gata Ban 7/2, Back below her last winning mark when landing a handicap by a neck off 92 over 2m6f at Hereford last time. Returning from a long layoff and looks the pick on overall form. 2m5f hurdle winner who looks capable of better over fences if ready to go after a break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/2 +36%)Taxus Baccata |
9/2(+36%) | (2) Taxus Baccata 9/2, Unable to dominate and needed the run when fourth, beaten 31l, in a handicap chase here last time. Effective over 2½m on good ground. Not ruled out on March's chase debut win but she's struggled to reach that level since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (33/1 -106%)Annie Nail |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Annie Nail 33/1, Did not find much and ran below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Stratford last time. Effective around 2½m on good ground; inconsistent but her mark is dropping. Easy C&D winner in May, but form has dipped badly since and out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/2 +13%)Moviddy |
7/2(+13%) | (1) Moviddy 7/2, Keen and made mistakes when below form, finishing comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Cheltenham last time. Had been in good form previously and looks the pick on race times. Opened chase account at the 11th attempt; steps back in class and respected on return.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (3/1 +0%)Mavis Pike |
3/1(+0%) | (3) Mavis Pike 3/1, Outpaced and needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m at Uttoxeter last time. Effective over 2m and should come on for the reappearance. Likely sharper for last month's return/chase debut and worth considering upped in trip.. |

MAVIS PIKE appeared to be in need of her first run of the season when making her chase debut at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. The six-year-old, who won over hurdles on this card 12 months ago and again subsequently in January, may benefit from returning to this sharper track, with a step up in trip unlikely to pose any concerns. Gata Ban is lightly raced and open to improvement over fences, while Moviddy appeals most of the remainder.

Perhaps GATA BAN will have more to offer now going over fences and she gets the vote, with the more exposed Moviddy feared most.

1st (3) (9/1 -100%)Blazeon Five |
9/1(-100%) | (3) Blazeon Five 9/1, Ran to form, travelling well and making a move around runners to land a handicap by 1 1/2l off 80 over 2m at Ascot last time; suited by 2m, acts on soft and good ground; remains fairly treated. Good record over Ascot 2m; travelled best for 2m win latest, when Double Meaning was 2nd. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 +36%)Personal Best |
7/2(+36%) | (5) Personal Best 7/2, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off 77 here last time; cheekpieces on for the first time; effective 12-14f, suited by plenty of cut; consistent but her mark looks about right now. Hung left when good second over C&D latest; return to the mud has to boost interest in her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/1 -120%)Dancingwithmyself |
11/1(-120%) | (1) Dancingwithmyself 11/1, Ran to form when chasing down an unexposed front-runner to land a handicap by 2 1/2l off 82 at Goodwood last time; trainer in form; usually held up; effective 10-14f, suited by cut; filly with more to offer. None too consistent but won well at Goodwood (1m6f, good to soft) on latest start; up 6lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (3/1 +33%)Lightning Tiger |
3/1(+33%) | (7) Lightning Tiger 3/1, Improved when stepped up in trip on handicap debut, landing a handicap by 2l off 71 over 12f at Catterick last time; effective 10-12f, acts on soft ground; up in weights but open to improvement as a stayer. Handicap debut win at Catterick (1m4f, soft) suggested he's a strong candidate for 1m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6/4 +77%)Double Meaning |
6/4(+77%) | (6) Double Meaning 6/4, Ran to form down in trip when fourth, beaten 1 1/4l off 76 last time; effective 12-16f, acts on good to soft and good ground; step back up in trip in his favour but ground could be a concern. 3yo who's done well since handicapping; back up in trip and may still be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (11/1 -69%)Rock N Roll Pinkie |
11/1(-69%) | (2) Rock N Roll Pinkie 11/1, Improved back up in trip when second, beaten 1/2l off 82 last time; effective 14-16f, acts on any going; more needed off a career-high mark. Bang there again at this track on last two outings, so she's firmly in the mix. |

It's difficult to rule out any of these, so only a tentative vote can go to DANCINGWITHMYSELF. Michael Bell's charge overcame a troubled passage to record a comfortable success at Goodwood latest and despite being raised 6lb for that, his ability to handle testing conditions will stand him in good stead. Ffos Las scorer Maxident merits respect along with Blazeon Five, while Rock N Roll Pinkie can't be underestimated.

Every single one of these brings serious interest but 3yos LIGHTNING TIGER and Double Meaning may be the two to concentrate on.

Odds-on win in a point bumper last December and he needs watching in market on rules debut. |

Promising second in sole point and he looks interesting on rules debut for Paul Nicholls. |

250/1(-400%) | (7) Keepsoldieringon 250/1, 3,500 euros Soldier Of Fortune gelding; full-brother to Ted The Thief, a very useful performer over 24f. 3,500euros foal; could be a longer-term prospect and is probably best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (150/1 -200%)Scorporite |
150/1(-200%) | (11) Scorporite 150/1, Scorpion mare. Yard 1-20 in bumpers in recent seasons and she could be one for later on. |

Harry Fry won this prize 12 months ago with subsequent Champion Bumper sixth Idaho Sun and the Dorset handler may well have another smart prospect in the shape of ON THE BAYOU. An eight-length winner of a point-to-point back in April 2024, he was purchased for 140,000 pounds and is likely to play a prominent role in proceedings. Soldier Reeves and Idaho Fire both command plenty of respect for top connections, while Tally Ho Back is another to note.

Preference is for Paul Nicholls' new recruit IDAHO FIRE who has striking pedigree and was a promising second in his sole point in March.

20/1(+20%) | (11) Tariff 20/1, 17 Apr; Starspangledbanner colt; half-brother to Antonin Dvorak, very useful at 7f; dam very smart at 8f. Half-brother to winners Perfect Poise (1m; RPR 86) and Antonin Dvorak (7f; 86). |

EVENING BLUES did too much in front at the Curragh last time and is fitted with a hood now. The Blue Point gelding had run well on his previous two outings and that form looks strong, particularly the runner-up effort behind Albert Einstein. Iron Lily looks like an obvious danger after a nice run on his debut at the Curragh earlier this month. The Ballydoyle newcomer Accredited is one to note in the market. The Siyouni colt cost 1,000,000 euros at a breeze-up sale in France and his full-brother Saracen was placed in the Greenham earlier this year.

The eyes are drawn to ACCREDITED who fetched big money at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale in May.

4th (2) (1/1 +38%)Dartmouth Rose |
1/1(+38%) | (2) Dartmouth Rose 1/1, Ran to form down in trip back from a break when landing a handicap by 2l off 83 here last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m on good ground and steadily progressing. Steps into open company off a 3lb rise for recent C&D win but stlll looks the one to beat.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (7/2 +50%)Sawpit Sienna |
7/2(+50%) | (4) Sawpit Sienna 7/2, Keen and below form when 19l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m here on her latest run. Looks the pick on race times. Running respectably in the spring, but recent evidence suggests this run may be needed.. |

DARTMOUTH ROSE shed the maiden tag here on her latest start. The five-year-old's course form since being switched to handicap company suggests she is more than capable of backing that performance up off a 3lb higher mark. Green Asset finished fourth beaten just over three lengths in the aforementioned contest and is expected to be competitive once again. Jackeline returned with a solid effort at Chepstow and is another with obvious claims.

The progressive DARTMOUTH ROSE (nap) is taken to follow up her recent C&D win off 3lb higher. Jackeline is feared most.

Suited by 7f and acts on all-weather; likely to benefit from the drop in distance. Runner-up in both 7f starts; 4l behind Chapman's Peak here (1m) latest; needs more. |

3/1(+25%) | (2) Lieutenant Kije 3/1, Improved when tried in a tongue-tie and stepped up in trip, finishing second beaten 2l in a novice here last time. Returns from a short break; looks capable from this mark on handicap debut. Improved with each of his 3 runs, most recently 2nd over C&D; gelded since; interesting. |

7th (8) (16/1 +27%)Snaafy |
16/1(+27%) | (8) Snaafy 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden over 8f at Brighton last time. Bred to need at least 8f and dropping back in trip here; potential for more in handicaps. Signs of ability in maiden/novice runs from 6f to 1m; needs improvement but it's possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -371%)Dankishn |
66/1(-371%) | (9) Dankishn 66/1, Never a threat when down in trip and well beaten in a maiden at Southwell last time. Cheekpieces first time and drawn wide; sire a sprinter, dam a stayer, may do better now handicapping. Never dangerous in three Tapeta maidens this autumn; goes handicapping in new cheekpieces. |

Chapman's Peak sprung a surprise to score here earlier this month but there was no fluke about the performance, and a 4lb rise looks fair. That said, preference is for LIEUTENANT KIJE. The gelding chased home a now 95-rated rival over track and trip in August which suggests that he could have been underestimated by an opening mark of 73. Others to note include Elan D'or and Reimagined.

Elan D'Or has obvious claims if taking to AW but LIEUTENANT KIJE could take another step forward now handicapping.

11/1(+0%) | (5) Artavian 11/1, Too keen and again below form when down the field in a handicap over 12f at Kempton last time. Suited by 12f and acts on soft and good ground; form has tailed off despite easing in the weights. Ended 2024 with a Windsor win (11.4f, heavy) in October but he's gone the wrong way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (4/1 +0%)Joe Masseria |
4/1(+0%) | (4) Joe Masseria 4/1, Again bombed out despite reapplied blinkers on stable debut, finishing down the field in a handicap over 8f here most recently. Effective from 7f to 10f, with best form in Ireland on ground with give; regressive, with cheekpieces replacing blinkers. Uncompetitive 2025; co-favourite on recent first run for yard but slowly away, beaten 44l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 +0%)Mystical Maria |
3/1(+0%) | (3) Mystical Maria 3/1, Improved when travelling smoothly back on better ground to land a handicap by a neck off 60 at Leicester last time. Effective from 9f to 11f, acts on any surface but best on a sound one; a progressive filly though soft ground may be a concern. Back in form last four starts, winning on the first and latest occasions; a leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (14/1 +0%)Bondi Man |
14/1(+0%) | (8) Bondi Man 14/1, Race not run to suit in reapplied cheekpieces when beaten 5l in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 10f and acts on good to soft and good ground; an unreliable maiden. 6yo who is a 17-race maiden; second over C&D (good to soft) three starts back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (14/1 +0%)Paragon |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Paragon 14/1, Below form without headgear when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Thirsk last time after a short break. Effective from 8f to 10f and acts on any surface; very consistent and the return of cheekpieces may help. 0-10; not proven on soft; repeatedly in frame for Andrew Balding but ninth on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (13/2 +0%)Fast Steps |
13/2(+0%) | (2) Fast Steps 13/2, Too keen and one of the first in trouble when fourth, beaten 5 1/4l, in a handicap at Salisbury last time. Suited by 10f to 11f, acts on good to soft and good to firm ground, possibly not soft; down in the weights but ground a worry. Latest win in July 2024; 11lb lower today but he's basically gone off the boil this season. |

Successful at Newbury on Saturday, Alpine Stroll is turned out quickly under a penalty and must feature prominently in calculations. It looks best to side with MYSTICAL MARIA, though, who narrowly prevailed at Leicester earlier in the month. The daughter of Lope De Vega has been on an upward curve since winning at Redcar in August, and a 3lb rise for that latest success doesn't look too harsh. Joe Masseria has been in the doldrums for some time now, but he was well backed ahead of his stable debut recently and it will be interesting to see if those supporters return.

Alpine Stroll has clicked again to win twice recently but MYSTICAL MARIA is an in-form contender with nothing to prove at the trip.

9/4(+36%) | (11) Nikki Swango 9/4, Returned to form down in trip off a reduced mark when beaten 3/4l off 44 over 6f here last time; effective 7f on AW and acts over 6f; needs to build on that revival. Course 6f winner at two, worth considering based on last Friday's second here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (10/1 -150%)Eric Lock |
10/1(-150%) | (7) Eric Lock 10/1, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off 49 here last time; versatile up to 1m on AW; form has been in and out lately. Put in an encouraging display when second for this rider over C&D 12 days ago, fair chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 +42%)Una Matata |
7/2(+42%) | (4) Una Matata 7/2, Returned to form when beaten 2l off 53 over 8f here last time; effective 7-8f on AW; fairly treated if building on that recent revival. Has dropped in the ratings and seems to have found her level again, good run on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (8/1 0%)Lorr's Girl |
8/1(0%) | (6) Lorr's Girl 8/1, Tired late on ground softer than ideal when down the field in a handicap at Cork last time; in good form prior; effective 7-8f on AW; running back into form before that effort. Unplaced favourite at Cork last month, managed a couple of good runs during the summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (50/1 -127%)Reponse Finale |
50/1(-127%) | (9) Reponse Finale 50/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a 6f handicap at Navan last time; effective 6-8f on AW; inconsistent maiden. Cork third placing came out of the blue at 66-1, down the field at Navan since then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (14/1 +22%)Run Forrest Run |
14/1(+22%) | (5) Run Forrest Run 14/1, Continued in modest form when beaten 7l in a 6f handicap at Navan last time; effective 6-7f on AW; in moderate form but handicapper is easing the task. Out of the money in seven races since finishing third over this trip at Down Royal in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (4/1 +11%)Bucky Larson |
4/1(+11%) | (10) Bucky Larson 4/1, Returned to form when beaten 1/2l off 44 here last time; trainer in form; effective 7-8f on AW; not the force of old but capable off this lowly mark. A long time since his last win, good chance now on the evidence of C&D second 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (16/1 +20%)Haughty |
16/1(+20%) | (8) Haughty 16/1, Found little when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; out of form in both codes for new yard; has plenty to prove. Winner over 1m in Britain, modest Irish form on turf, better over C&D on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (12/1 -50%)Heart Of Darkness |
12/1(-50%) | (1) Heart Of Darkness 12/1, Found nil down the field in a handicap at The Curragh last time; effective at 7f; handicapper has relented quickly but out of form. Won a 6f maiden here last year, poor turf form, perhaps return to this surface will help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (50/1 -100%)Hezahunk |
50/1(-100%) | (13) Hezahunk 50/1, Below form back up in trip when beaten 6 1/4l in a 6f handicap here last time; effective 5-6f on AW; form tailed off in summer. Dual course winner at 6f, placed here five times, recent form provides no encouragement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (14/1 +13%)Showhound |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Showhound 14/1, May not have stayed when down the field in an 8f handicap at The Curragh last time; effective at 7f, may not stay further; out of form for new yard. Regressive since starting his Irish career promisingly in the spring, hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (40/1 +0%)Storm Eric |
40/1(+0%) | (2) Storm Eric 40/1, Never competitive after missing the break when beaten 8 1/2l in an 11f handicap here last time; usually held up; effective 8-10f and better on AW; out of form. Dual C&D winner, has been struggling at longer distances, this should suit him much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) (125/1 -89%)Parnu |
125/1(-89%) | (14) Parnu 125/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in an 8f handicap here last time; acts on AW; yet to show anything of note over 7-8f. Ordinary form in maidens, has struggled in two 1m handicap attempts at this venue. |

UNA MATATA was harshly handicapped after winning a 7f maiden on turf last year but has come down to a competitive mark judging by her latest effort. Chris Timmons' filly kept on for third in a strongly-run contest over a mile here and the runner-up has boosted that form since. Coming back in trip isn't a major concern and she can strike now that connections have found her level. Veteran Bucky Larson made a good start for his new yard when second over C&D, while Nikki Swango is another that has plummeted in the ratings and she went close over 6f here last week.

There is life left in the ten-year-old BUCKY LARSON who has good prospects of going one place better than on his recent stable debut

7/4(+50%) | (10) Valdorcia 7/4, Showed small improvement on debut when third beaten 2 1/4l in a novice over 6f here; trainer in form; more to come for this top yard and a longer trip should suit. Third in both starts over 6f here; can improve over today's extra furlong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (16/1 0%)Archer's Grace |
16/1(0%) | (2) Archer's Grace 16/1, 30 Mar; 30,000 euros Magna Grecia filly; half-sister to Hickory, smart at 7f; dam smart at 7f; probably best watched on debut. Nice pedigree, but winning 2yo newcomers from the stable are very rare. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (11/8 +61%)Too Hot To Tango |
11/8(+61%) | (9) Too Hot To Tango 11/8, Improved when back down in trip on drier ground, finishing second beaten 1/2l in a Salisbury maiden; bred for 10f+ and holds solid claims based on that latest effort. Has shown ability at when beaten half a length at Salisbury last time; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/1 +25%)Loving Queen |
6/1(+25%) | (7) Loving Queen 6/1, Too keen and looked green when well beaten on debut in a novice over 8f at Newmarket; bred for around 8f and can improve on that modest first effort, now down in trip. Sixth of eight on last month's Newmarket debut; dropping a furlong may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (11/1 -120%)Samisen |
11/1(-120%) | (8) Samisen 11/1, 29 Mar; Frankel filly; dam high-class at 13f; wide draw but obviously of interest on debut. Stable gets plenty of 2yo winners first time out; well worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (33/1 -288%)Dash Of Class |
33/1(-288%) | (4) Dash Of Class 33/1, 19 Jan; 70,000gns Earthlight filly; half-sister to Volakes, fair at 14f; dam smart at 10f; looks an unlikely winner on debut. Stable has the occasional winning 2yo newcomer but she looks one for further in due course. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (50/1 -213%)Cospicua |
50/1(-213%) | (3) Cospicua 50/1, 19 Mar; Swiss Spirit filly; half-sister to Rushford, useful from 14f to 16f; wide draw; worth watching in the market. Yard has winning 2yo newcomers, but this filly is drawn widest and may be one for further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (200/1 -300%)Imthequeenofsheba |
200/1(-300%) | (6) Imthequeenofsheba 200/1, Modest debut over an inadequate trip when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden over 5f at Bath; bred for at least 6/7f, so this longer trip should help but she looks up against it. Sixth of eight on last month's Bath debut; plenty more will be needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (18/1 -112%)Antelope Riff |
18/1(-112%) | (1) Antelope Riff 18/1, 20 Mar; 80,000 euros Wootton Bassett filly; half-sister to Seola, useful at 7f; hood first time out. Hooded on debut, but stable gets its share of winning 2yo newcomers; watch market. |

Official ratings suggest Too Hot To Tango and Dictal have the ability to go well, but it is VALDORCIA that shades preference. The daughter of Oasis Dream has hit the frame on both of her starts to date, each over 6f, but this step up in trip is likely to suit and she can provide Toby Moore with his first winner.

The choice is VALDORCIA who has already twice run well here. The extra furlong may enable her to get off the mark.

4th (12) (20/1 -25%)Alkutonic |
20/1(-25%) | (12) Alkutonic 20/1, Never competitive when down the field in a maiden over 7f at Gowran Park last time; wide draw and off a short break; effective at 6f; looks one for nurseries. Promising rules debut before reportedly failing to handle the first bend at Gowran. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (80/1 -21%)Dont Get Me Wrong |
80/1(-21%) | (3) Dont Get Me Wrong 80/1, Green and beaten early on easy ground when well held in an auction race at Cork on debut; bred to handle the all-weather; has plenty to prove. 66-1 and weakened 2f out on debut at Cork (6f) last month; others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (15/8 +87%)Girl Is On Fire |
15/8(+87%) | (6) Girl Is On Fire 15/8, 18 Mar; £30,000 breeze-up purchase by Ardad; half-sister to Orchid Bloom, very smart at 8f; dam useful at 7f at 2yo; probably best watched on debut. £30,000 2yo; nicely bred and could be interesting; dam won on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (13/2 -63%)Pliny |
13/2(-63%) | (5) Pliny 13/2, Disappointing in first-time blinkers when down the field in an auction race at Navan; had been in good form prior and is effective over 7f; in form until latest run. Leading form claims on two good runs over 7f and he looks quick enough for 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (80/1 -220%)Lady Duquesa |
80/1(-220%) | (13) Lady Duquesa 80/1, Ran to form when down the field in a maiden at Naas last time; effective at 6f; needs another run for a mark. Low level form thus far, beaten 11l in two 6f maidens at Naas; one for another day. |

9th (4) (28/1 -75%)Bill Sikes |
28/1(-75%) | (4) Bill Sikes 28/1, 10 Feb; 30,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Sioux Nation; dam useful at 7f; looks an unlikely winner on debut. 30,000euros 2yo; finished well behind in a barrier trial at Leopardstown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (250/1 -400%)Cadreville |
250/1(-400%) | (7) Cadreville 250/1, Outpaced but improved from debut when well beaten in a maiden at The Curragh; has a wide draw; with speed in his pedigree and suited to 6f, looks one for low-grade handicaps. Pretty much tailed off in maidens at Thurles (1m) and the Curragh (6f); no appeal for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (50/1 +0%)Private Larry |
50/1(+0%) | (9) Private Larry 50/1, 14 Feb; 65,000 euros Inns Of Court colt. 6,500euros yearling; 2nd foal; half-sister to Spanish/Moroccan 8.4f-1m1f winner Lady Aida. |

FOX IN FLIGHT took a nice step forward from his debut when sixth in a Curragh maiden over this trip recently and represents a yard who do well at this venue. Whatchadoin was too keen over 7f on his all-weather debut and should fare better back in trip. Sovereign Cry started favourite for that aforementioned 7f maiden and was another that raced too freely. He is likely to be capable of better. Newcomers Arcabulle and Girl Is On Fire are also noted.

From a good draw and with blinkers soon discarded, PLINY can fulfil the promise of his placed efforts at Leopardstown and Down Royal.

5/2(+55%) | (8) Snow Light 5/2, Had a chance until hanging very badly when well beaten in a maiden at Newmarket (July) on her only start. Trainer in form and returning from a break; worth forgiving. Disappointing when sent off 11-4 for Newmarket debut in July, but better can be expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (1/1 +56%)One Last Song |
1/1(+56%) | (6) One Last Song 1/1, 25 Feb; $250,000 Justify filly; half-sister to three US winners; dam moderate at 7f; likely to go well. Stable has done well with its few 2yo newcomers and market confidence would be significant. |

5th (4) (10/1 -25%)Florida Suite |
10/1(-25%) | (4) Florida Suite 10/1, Needed the experience on debut when looking green and well beaten in a Fillies & Mares race at Newbury. Bred to be effective up to 8f and should improve for that outing. Well held on last month's Newbury debut, half-sister and dam both won on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (25/1 -355%)Blackisthenewblack |
25/1(-355%) | (2) Blackisthenewblack 25/1, 29 Mar; Dark Angel filly; half-sister to T'Challa, very useful at 10f; wide draw; top trainer and of obvious interest. Stable does have 2yo winners first time and market should be revealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (250/1 -658%)Violet Goldsmith |
250/1(-658%) | (10) Violet Goldsmith 250/1, Showed small improvement on debut though never competitive when beaten 9l in a maiden at Salisbury last time. Speedily bred and may do better in low-grade handicaps. Has beaten just one home in two starts on turf; needs a large chunk of improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-200%) | (5) Oh Sit Down 18/1, 13 May; 210,000 euros Wootton Bassett filly; half-sister to Darkness, smart from 8f (at 2yo) to 9f; dam very useful at 7f. Stable can get them ready first time and the market should indicate what is expected. |

300/1(-200%) | (9) Summer Oasis 300/1, Improved on a poor debut though never a threat when beaten 7l in a maiden over 8f at Leicester last time. Wide draw; pedigree blends speed and stamina and may need more time. Has beaten one home in her first two starts; makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (11/1 +78%)Sea Mehalah Run |
11/1(+78%) | (7) Sea Mehalah Run 11/1, Made a modest debut when well beaten in a maiden at Goodwood, the heavy ground perhaps against her. Returns from a short break and bred for 8f+, so may do better in time. Beaten a long way on her Goodwood debut in July; major improvement required. |

In an open contest, a chance can be taken on ONE LAST SONG. The daughter of Justify, who fetched $250,000 as a yearling, represents a yard in excellent form and it would come as no surprise were she to play a leading role. Callahan sets the standard and is respected, whilst the likes of Oh Sit Down and Blackisthenewblack both warrant a market check.

With the stable having done well with its few 2yo newcomers since the summer of 2024, ONE LAST SONG catches the eye on debut.

33/1(+0%) | (16) Doctor Grace 33/1, Up in trip and probably did not stay when down the field in a handicap over 2m at Thurles most recently; effective from 10f to 13f on all-weather; consistent but holds no secrets from the handicapper. Second reserve, a long way below her best since scoring on turf in July, 2-24 on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (14) (33/1 +0%)Clementines Dream |
33/1(+0%) | (14) Clementines Dream 33/1, Made too much use of when stepped up in trip and failed to get home, well beaten in a maiden over 10f at Ballinrobe latest; blinkers first time; best form at 7f and breeding suggests middle distances should suit; bit to prove in handicaps. Fair run on first of two starts last year, off since April, headgear added, hard to assess. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (40/1 -21%)Desert Friend |
40/1(-21%) | (7) Desert Friend 40/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap over 1m5f at Tipperary most recently; off a short break; generally consistent and needs 12f+. Has been unable to sustain the good form shown in May/June, makes stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (10) (11/1 -22%)Gracesolution |
11/1(-22%) | (10) Gracesolution 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 66 here last time; effective from 12f to 14f on all-weather; generally consistent. C&D win in March was first success since 2022, fair fourth here on latest, cheekpieces now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (4) (20/1 +0%)Theophilos |
20/1(+0%) | (4) Theophilos 20/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 67 over 11f here last time; effective at 9f to 10f on all-weather; inconsistent since returning from hurdling. Losing run goes back to a turf success in April 2023, fair sixth here 12 days ago. |

TRISHULI RIVER looked on the way back when fifth here last time and a chance is taken on her stamina for this longer trip. Shane Crawley's mare was in fine form here last winter when winning twice and being placed twice over the extended 1m2f. She hasn't gone beyond that trip yet, but 1m4f looks worth a try and she tends to thrive at this time of year. Lady Kai has been in decent form on turf and has to come into calculations along with fellow C&D winner Pearl Jewel, who has on a competitive mark.

It could be worth taking a chance that three-time course winner TRISHULI RIVER gets this trip on her first attempt

1st (4) (7/5 +38%)Prizeland |
7/5(+38%) | (4) Prizeland 7/5, Showed promise from off the pace when a fair debut fourth, beaten 3l in a maiden at Leicester first time out; from a top course trainer; bred for 10f+, sister to Derby runner-up Hoo Ya Mal; should improve, though further may suit ideally. Promising 4th (green) on Leicester debut three weeks ago; can reverse placings with Tamzan. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/2 +68%)Valkyrie Storm |
7/2(+68%) | (6) Valkyrie Storm 7/2, Below form when beaten 10l in a novice over 7f at Southwell last time; effective at 7f; needs to bounce back switching to the all-weather. Second run was okay but it is sandwiched by two lesser runs; needs more upped to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (7/1 -40%)Tamzan |
7/1(-40%) | (10) Tamzan 7/1, Improved again and finished strongest when second, beaten 1 1/4l in a maiden at Leicester last time; effective at 8f and should stay further; consistent performer with a chance on all-weather debut. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (13/2 -63%)Supplicate |
13/2(-63%) | (8) Supplicate 13/2, 11 Mar; Ulysses filly; full-sister to Protest, very smart at 8f; dam very useful from 8f (at 2yo) to 10f; wide draw; interesting debutant, may need time and distance though. Sister to two winners (including on debut) out of a well-related winner; newcomer of note. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (17/2 -31%)Angelic Rascal |
17/2(-31%) | (1) Angelic Rascal 17/2, Improved when stepped up in trip on less testing ground, beaten 3 1/4l in a maiden at Leicester last time; effective at 8f and acts on good to soft; may prove vulnerable in this on all-weather debut. Second run was a step forwards but she still finished behind two of today's rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (15/2 +38%)Sweet Love |
15/2(+38%) | (9) Sweet Love 15/2, Probably ran to form when beaten 6l in a nursery over 7f at Musselburgh last time; effective over 7/8f and acts on a sound surface; mark looks about right. Not progressing; peak RPR came over C&D but likely vulnerable once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (80/1 -220%)Karmacy |
80/1(-220%) | (12) Karmacy 80/1, No improvement on a moderate debut when well beaten in a maiden at Nottingham last time; bred to want 7/8f but has shown little so far. Modest form in two runs this autumn and significant improvement is required to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (40/1 -233%)Space Alexander |
40/1(-233%) | (5) Space Alexander 40/1, 30 Jan; Space Blues filly; half-sister to Lord Of The Lodge, high-class at 7f; worth watching in the market. Half-sister to 5 winners, notably smart AW winner Lord Of The Lodge (RPR 113); interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (150/1 -127%)Canderelly |
150/1(-127%) | (2) Canderelly 150/1, Bit better than on debut but made no impact at huge odds, well beaten in a 7f novice here latest; bred to be effective from 6f to 8f; shown little so far and looks the type for lowly handicaps. Big odds and finished down the field in two AW runs over shorter; handicaps beckon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (40/1 -300%)Ibiza Lights |
40/1(-300%) | (3) Ibiza Lights 40/1, 20 Mar; £50,000 Earthlight filly; half-sister to Urgent Whisper, fair at 12f; dam moderate at 9f; trainer in form; wide draw. £50,000 yearling; dam a maiden but out of a Listed winner in Germany; check betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (150/1 -275%)Honeyforthebears |
150/1(-275%) | (11) Honeyforthebears 150/1, Showed more than on debut but again well beaten, finishing 9 1/2l behind in a maiden over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; returning from a short break; related to 6/7f winners and looks a handicap type. Well beaten in two 7f runs in July; not easily recommended now upped in trip after a break. |

Tamzan (second) has progressed with each start and finished ahead of both PRIZELAND (fourth) and Angelic Rascal (fifth) at Leicester earlier this month. However, it wouldn't be a surprise if Andrew Balding's filly, who caught the eye on her debut, took enough of a step forward to reverse the placings. Supplicate makes plenty of appeal as her full-sister, also trained by Roger Varian, made a winning start to her career.

Supplicate is a newcomer of some interest but PRIZELAND can leave her debut well behind and reverse placings with Tamzan.

22/1(-238%) | (11) Silca Bay 22/1, Travelled well and ran to form when second, beaten 1 1/4l off 70 last time. Effective at 6f to 7f and acts on good to firm and all-weather; thriving recently but now tackling a new trip and up in the weights again. Record in handicaps over 6f/7f here since July reads 33112; has to be respected up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 +25%)Cogitate |
3/1(+25%) | (2) Cogitate 3/1, Ran to form when closing late from off the pace, beaten 2 1/4l off 87 here last time. Notable jockey booking. Effective at 7f to 1m, acts on good, good to firm and all-weather, and running well down slightly in grade. Running well in defeat including when fourth over C&D a week ago; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (18/1 +55%)Uniting |
18/1(+55%) | (10) Uniting 18/1, Again below form, beaten early after a slow start in a 7f Leicester handicap last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (10/1 -100%)Rey De La Batalla |
10/1(-100%) | (9) Rey De La Batalla 10/1, Ran to form and was well placed throughout when beaten 2 1/4l off 76 at Lingfield last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 7f to 1m and best on all-weather; in good order but well known to the handicapper. Dual C&D winner; finished second at Lingfield 15 days ago, but he has an awkward draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (4/1 +0%)Philanthropist |
4/1(+0%) | (5) Philanthropist 4/1, Ran to form off a steady pace in a new visor when beaten 4l off 85 over 7f here last time. Effective at 7f to 1m, acts on good to soft, good to firm and all-weather; consistent sort who would benefit from a stronger pace. Consistent since winning twice over 7f on Tapeta, but does still have stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (7/1 +56%)Brasil Power |
7/1(+56%) | (4) Brasil Power 7/1, Again below best when unable to make an impression after being impeded late, beaten 5 1/2l in a 9f Newmarket handicap last time. Suited by 10f and acts on good to firm and all-weather; trip short of best with visor reapplied. Three-time course winner over 7f but twice runner-up over C&D; back off last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (18/1 -50%)Notimeforchitchat |
18/1(-50%) | (7) Notimeforchitchat 18/1, Ran to form off a steady pace when beaten 3l off 83 here last time. Effective over 1m and best on all-weather; tends to be ridden for a late run and needs a decent pace to be seen to best effect. All three wins have come here, but still 4lb higher than for the most recent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (22/1 -38%)Almekarem |
22/1(-38%) | (8) Almekarem 22/1, Below form on handicap debut, already beaten when hampered and finished down the field at Yarmouth most recently. Had been in good form beforehand. Effective at 8f to 9f and acts on all-weather; needs to step up on that effort. Won a Wolverhampton novice last month, but ran poorly on handicap debut; enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (80/1 -627%)Tempus |
80/1(-627%) | (6) Tempus 80/1, Showed a little more when dropped in grade but still well below his best, finishing a 3/4l third in a Newcastle seller last time. Effective from 1m to 1m2f and acts on any surface bar extremes; veteran whose form has tailed off. Hard to win with these days and latest close third of six came in a Newcastle seller. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (9/2 +55%)Brave Emperor |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Brave Emperor 9/2, Easing in the weights but still below his best when beaten 9l in a Haydock handicap last time. Suited by 1m and likely to handle any surface, though he remains on the downgrade. Did well on the AW in his younger days including a win over C&D; interesting contender. |

SILCA BAY was denied in his bid for a hat-trick when runner-up here last month, but there is every chance Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding could improve for tackling a mile for the first time. Cogitate went close at this level on his penultimate start over C&D and backed that up when fourth in a stronger contest last time. The four-year-old commands respect, while others to note are Philanthropist and Almekarem.

It may be worth chancing BRAVE EMPEROR who showed a bit more at Haydock last time. He had a great record on the AW in his younger days.

13/8(+41%) | (3) Coul Angel 13/8, Well placed and ran to form off a new mark when third beaten 2l off 84 last time; suited by 6f and acts on soft, good to firm, and all-weather; in solid form and can go well again. C&D winner; won well at Newmarket and latest AW third was a solid run; down in class today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/1 -38%)Mr Cool |
11/1(-38%) | (9) Mr Cool 11/1, Didn't get a clear run but still ran to form when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 77 at Ripon last time; returning from a break; effective at 5f and 6f on good to firm and all-weather; in form but now on his highest mark. 2-5 since a gelding operation, both wins in 6f turf handicaps; career-best required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/4 +21%)Mesaafi |
11/4(+21%) | (6) Mesaafi 11/4, Not far off his recent best but didn't get home when beaten 3l off 83 at Chelmsford last time; effective at 5f and 6f on a sound surface; now on a reduced mark, but 5f may suit best. Of interest on this year's best; fully effective over C&D; well drawn and one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +40%)Stanley Spencer |
9/2(+40%) | (4) Stanley Spencer 9/2, Won this race last year and scored by 1 1/4l off 80 at Southwell on his penultimate start; a bit below form when impeded late last time; effective at 6f on all-weather; return to this trip should help if bouncing back. Conditions to suit; caught wide over 7f here last time; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (17/2 +15%)The Dragon King |
17/2(+15%) | (2) The Dragon King 17/2, Produced his best effort of 2025 so far, though possibly flattered, when beaten 2l off 84 at Salisbury last time; suited by 6f and seems to act on any surface; still to prove he matches his 2yo level. Handicapper on top in 2025; latest run was better and he showed promise on AW on 2yo debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (16/1 -100%)Mumayaz |
16/1(-100%) | (12) Mumayaz 16/1, Again below form with no impact in a new headgear combination when beaten 6l in a handicap at Brighton last time; off a short break; effective at 5f–7f and acts on soft, good to firm, and all-weather; headgear removed now. Versatile handicapper; starts out for new stable on a winning mark; betting useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (40/1 -60%)Law Of Average |
40/1(-60%) | (11) Law Of Average 40/1, Remains below last season's best and tried in a tongue-tie when beaten 9 1/2l in a 5f handicap at Leicester last time; enjoys making the running; suited by 5f and acts on any surface, preferring it fast; out of form in 2025 but eased in the weights. Not hit last year's heights in 2025; down to a lowly mark but has more to prove over 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (12/1 -33%)Emperor Spirit |
12/1(-33%) | (1) Emperor Spirit 12/1, Back to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 85 at Chelmsford last time; enjoys making the running and is effective at 5f and 6f; considered again in this grade. On a handy mark and ran ok on AW two weeks ago; easy lead unlikely and others are stronger. |

COUL ANGEL scored at Newmarket on his penultimate start before finishing third at Wolverhampton earlier in the month. Mick Appleby's gelding has shown a tendency to hang to his right on those starts, so the switch to a right-handed track from a low draw might aid his cause. Stanley Spencer is best judged on his Southwell victory and the return to 6f is in his favour. He is likely to enter calculations along with Mesaafi.

Stanley Spencer can leave his latest run behind him, but COUL ANGEL (nap) is still improving and can gain his fourth win this year.

2nd (6) (3/1 +40%)Club Class |

Won a C&D novice last month; still open to improvement and respected back in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 +6%)North Star |
15/2(+6%) | (4) North Star 15/2, Got the run of the race with a tailwind and ran to form when second, beaten 2 1/4l off 80 last time; trainer in form; suited by 10f and acts on the all-weather, though stamina must be proven over this trip. Record in turf handicaps since May reads 33142, but still a question over her stamina. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (5/1 +0%)Caspian King |
5/1(+0%) | (8) Caspian King 5/1, Improved when up in trip and ridden positively, beaten 1 1/4l off 72 here last time; effective up to 12f and acts on the all-weather; needs to relax but remains unexposed at this distance. Beaten just over a length by Pride Of Donegal over C&D last time and 2lb better off. |

16/1(+20%) | (1) Wonder 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 77 over 11f here last time; returning from a break and out of sorts on his last two starts. Ran better than it looked when sixth of 14 here in June but has been off four months since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/1 -29%)Patrol |
11/1(-29%) | (5) Patrol 11/1, A little below form but with excuses when beaten 6l in a handicap at Newmarket last time; in good form prior; effective 8-12f and acts on the all-weather; remains a few pounds above his last winning mark. Record on Tapeta reads 323121313, but is unraced on Polytrack; something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (10/1 +29%)Mrs Twig |
10/1(+29%) | (2) Mrs Twig 10/1, Down in trip and still below her best when beaten 8l in a handicap over 10f at Newmarket last time; effective 10-12f and acts on the all-weather; below her last winning mark but others appear stronger. Record over C&D reads 1173; 1lb below her last winning mark and worth a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (80/1 -21%)Montpellier Green |
80/1(-21%) | (13) Montpellier Green 80/1, Again well below form over a trip too far, well beaten in a handicap over 11f here last time; effective 7-8f and yet to convince with stamina for further; out of form in 2025 and this trip still looks too far. Has regressed, especially in six starts since returning for this yard in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (80/1 -142%)Party Island |
80/1(-142%) | (10) Party Island 80/1, Again below form on slow turf after a break, well beaten in a handicap over 10f at Bath last time; effective 10-12f and acts on the all-weather; return to this longer trip may help but others make more appeal. Unplaced in seven starts this year, but 4lb lower than when last successful on Polytrack. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (2/1 +20%)Pride Of Donegal |
2/1(+20%) | (3) Pride Of Donegal 2/1, Improved when upped in trip on handicap debut, landing a race by 1 1/4l off 75 here last time; suited by 10-12f and all runs on the all-weather; looked good on handicap debut and could defy the rise. Won over C&D last time; 7lb rise and outside stall pose questions, but still unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (125/1 -279%)Dissident |
125/1(-279%) | (11) Dissident 125/1, Again below form, always behind when down the field in a handicap over 11f here most recently; hood on for the first time; effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather; stamina still to be proven for this distance. 0-5; last in both handicaps including on stable debut here 16 days ago; hood on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (20/1 -82%)Crackergee |
20/1(-82%) | (9) Crackergee 20/1, Below form, newly gelded and may have needed the run when fourth beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; off a short break; effective up to 12f and acts on the all-weather; could improve on that effort. 0-6; just beaten on handicap debut over C&D in May, but not matched that form twice since. |

PRIDE OF DONEGAL has improved with each run so far and, having emerged as a ready winner over C&D 19 days ago, the son of Saxon Warrior is an attractive proposition after that power-packed handicap debut. A 7lb higher mark complicates the issue and the likes of fellow track-and-trip winners Club Class and Mrs Twig could capitalise on any weakness shown. The hat-trick seeking Gemmari is also considered on his first appearance since being gelded.

A 7lb higher mark and the stall 13 pose questions for recent C&D winner PRIDE OF DONEGAL, but he remains unexposed and can follow up.

8th (12) (7/1 -56%)Triggered |
7/1(-56%) | (12) Triggered 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 56 over 8f here last time. Usually held up; suited by 7f and acts on all-weather. In form but on a long losing run. On a losing run but several good efforts this year, including over 1m here four weeks ago. |

9th (5) (33/1 +0%)Ajrad |
33/1(+0%) | (5) Ajrad 33/1, Won by a head off 60 over 8f at Bath three starts back. Bit better than the result last time but still below form. Wide draw; effective at 7-8f and acts on any going. Three turf wins since July but his form has cooled more recently; needs a full revival. |

10th (2) (14/1 +58%)Cill Mocheallog |
14/1(+58%) | (2) Cill Mocheallog 14/1, Yard won this last year. Again below form without headgear when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather; remains out of sorts despite a falling mark. Struggled so far for this yard but now drops into Class 6 and needs a market check. |

11th (11) (9/1 -20%)Neptune Legend |
9/1(-20%) | (11) Neptune Legend 9/1, Ran flat when turned out 24 hours after previous run, beaten 5 1/4l in a 6f handicap at Brighton last time. Off a short break; effective at 5-7f on all-weather and could bounce back on stable debut. Easy win in Bath classified (5.7f) in August; market useful starting out for James Owen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (14) (50/1 -317%)Private Officer |
50/1(-317%) | (14) Private Officer 50/1, Bit below form back on soft ground when beaten 7l in an 8f handicap at Roscommon last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective around 8f and acts on all-weather. Likely up against it after more than a year off. 1m win in Ireland last October; makes stable debut after 380 days off. |

TRIGGERED, who has won four times over this trip, is the first one to consider after his second second over a mile here at the start of this month. Back over 7f and from a handy draw, there is plenty to like about his chances with Billy Loughnane retaining the ride. Penelope Valentine, Beau Jardine and Chifa are others for the shortlist.

Fiendishly competitive but LUMINOUS WARRIOR is given another chance for his new yard. South Dakota Sioux is feared most.

4th (11) (14/1 -87%)The Cola Kid |
14/1(-87%) | (11) The Cola Kid 14/1, Back to form when just worn down late, beaten 1/2l off 45 over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 5f to 7f on all-weather; drop in trip may suit. Good 2nd at Wolverhampton last week (7f); not sure to be in the same form this time. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 -157%)Vaunted |
18/1(-157%) | (8) Vaunted 18/1, Won this race last year; again below form when beaten 4l in a handicap at Bath last time; effective at 5f and 6f on all-weather; past course-and-distance winner and going back up in trip may help. Won this race last year off 6lb higher; 0-9 in 2025 but retains ability; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (6/1 -33%)The Real Mckay |
6/1(-33%) | (3) The Real Mckay 6/1, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 55 at Newcastle last time; wide draw; suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; still on a workable mark. C&D winner; cosy success at Newcastle two weeks ago; 3lb rise not excessive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (12/1 -9%)Spring |
12/1(-9%) | (4) Spring 12/1, Not a clear run and below form when beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; returning from a break; suited by 5f and may need a very easy track at 6f. Absent 146 days but she's back down into Class 6 and looks feasibly weighted; check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (4/1 +11%)Wallop |
4/1(+11%) | (2) Wallop 4/1, Below form, not helped by losing momentum when fourth beaten 5l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time; wide draw; effective at 6f and 7f on all-weather and remains well treated. Regressive 5yo but he is a C&D winner who lurks on a reduced mark; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (13/2 +41%)Encircle |
13/2(+41%) | (9) Encircle 13/2, Well below form, never in it after fluffing the start when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap over 5f at Nottingham last time; effective at 6f to 8f on all-weather; better than showed latest but needs to bounce back. Latest run easy to forgive and penultimate close 4th over C&D came off 3lb higher; chance. |

SMASHER was only hit with a 2lb rise after gamely winning over course and distance four weeks ago and appeals on his bid to follow up. The Real McKay is another key player following a comfortable win at Newcastle, with a 3lb rise also noted as fair. Vaunted won this race off 6lb higher last year and shouldn't be underestimated, while previous C&D winners The Cola Kid and Wallop are other each-way options.

The Real McKay won well at Newcastle but APPLE OF MY EYE could take a step forward now back down in distance.
Ths is the racecard key.
