Asense

12/1(-85%)
(8) Asense 12/1, Two wins from 5 runs this year. Career best when winning 7-runner handicap (3/1) at this course (11.6f, firm) 26 days ago by nose from Uther Pendragon. Raised just 1 lb but shade more needed if she's to complete the hat-trick.

LTO Selection:

14:02 Bath Handicap (Class 6) 13f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The hat-trick seeking Asense must enter calculations in her current mood, although there are grounds to take the four-year-old on now encountering her most testing conditions to date. With that in mind, it may be worth taking a chance on the returning ARTHALOT, who won under similar conditions off a 1lb lower mark at Lingfield in May 2021. It's How We Roll arrives in good form and is another to note.

Several to consider in this open-looking handicap. IT'S HOW WE ROLL has been knocking on the door of late and is taken to make a winning start for the James Evan yard. Imperial Cult has also been giving notice that a win is imminent and he is just about feared most, with Beggarman also high on the shortlist, despite failing to fire on his latest start. Arthalot could also have a part to play.

Although still a maiden, IMPERIAL CULT hasn't been doing a great deal wrong in handicaps and his turn looks near.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Newton Abbot Handicap Chase (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Last season's Imperial Cup winner ICEO failed to stay when stepped up in trip at Sandown in April. The five-year-old looks the sort who could take his form to the next level now making his debut over fences and is fancied to take this contest en route to bigger things. His former stablemate Timeforatune is feared most now under the tutelage of Evan Williams, while Mount Tempest could also improve now tackling the larger obstacles.

An excellent opportunity for Imperial Cup winner ICEO to make a winning start over fences with Mount Tempest (shaped as if amiss in April) and Timeforatune (sold for only £12,000 from Paul Nicholls in June) arriving with something to prove.

All three runners are good chasing prospects. MOUNT TEMPEST looked good over hurdles at Warwick in March and gets the vote.

LTO Selection:

14:20 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The Anthony McCann-trained ROCKSTOWN GIRL should win if able to translate her smart bumper form to hurdling. A winner on racecourse debut at Roscommon last July, the five-year-old was subsequently third in both a Listed and Grade 2 Mares bumper. On her final outing of the campaign, she also acquitted herself respectably when seventh of 20 in the Aintree Mares Bumper. Facing nothing of that quality on her first start over flights, it will be disappointing if she can't collect. Faux Fur will need to jump better than on her hurdling debut at Navan but if doing so, the Gordon Elliott-trained mare is capable of running a big race. Leahs Tricks has shaped well enough on both starts over flights to suggest she could at least reach the frame in a race lacking any real strength in depth.

Preference is for FAUX FUR, who should have learnt plenty from last month's encouraging Navan hurdles bow. Leahs Tricks looks the likeliest danger on form, whilst Tequila Talkin' catches the eye from the newcomers.

A feasible opportunity for decent bumper performer ROCKSTOWN GIRL to hit the ground running over hurdles.

(7) Palace Green 7/1, Once-raced maiden. Unseated rider in minor event at Newbury (8f, heavy, 22/1) on debut 10 days ago. Interesting that he was pitched into that traditionally informative race on debut and he's one to note in the betting.

Lacked the gears to get involved at Chelmsford (1m) but is entitled to improve on that.
LTO Selection:

14:32 Bath Stakes (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HOT FUSS has been highly tried since winning impressively at Salisbury in July and the son of Calyx could be hard to beat now eased back in grade, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty. Dallas Star and Calvert are others who arrive here with valid form claims, while Flowering is a newcomer to note. Palace Green unseated his rider at the start on his racecourse bow at Newbury and he should not be underestimated.

It would be something of an understatement to say that PALACE GREEN's Newbury debut didn't go to plan (unseated rider shortly after leaving the stalls), a race eventually won by his very promising stablemate Bracken's Laugh. The fact that he went to post for that traditionally warm novice event suggests that he has been showing up well at home and the hint should be taken if the market speaks in his favour. Hot Fuss sets the standard and is an obvious threat, while Dallas Star is also feared.

With soft ground holding no fears, perhaps HOT FUSS can defy a penalty back at a more realistic level.

14:40 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GISELLES IZZY only went down by a neck when stepping up to class 4 level over C&D last week, and she goes off the same mark. If the quick turnaround doesn't cause her any problems, she could be the one to beat. Gentle Ellen (third) had Mark's Choice (fifth) behind at Pontefract last time and she can confirm her superiority over that rival. Burj Malinka completes the shortlist.

BURJ MALINKA's 3 career wins have all come at this track, including when having 2 lengths to spare over this trip last week, and can defy a 5 lb penalty. Gentle Ellen and Giselles Izzy head the dangers.

Lots with chances and MARK'S CHOICE is taken to build on an encouraging debut fifth for Gemma Tutty and capitalise on a reduced mark.

LTO Selection:

14:45 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With solid recent form thin on the ground, a tentative vote goes to six-year-old SYSTEMIC. Gary Moore's gelding performed well on testing ground when runner-up off the same mark at Huntingdon a couple of seasons ago. Absolute Ruler is another to consider judged on the pick of his form over hurdles this season, while Idilico could appreciate a drop in trip having failed to see out 2m4f at Perth in August.

It's reasonable to expect FOXEY to come on for his comeback run at Worcester where he was returning from a lengthy absence and, granted a more assured round of jumping here, the 8-y-o can make his second start for the Olly Murphy yard a winning one. Systemic is clear second choice ahead of Idilico.

14:50 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Third in the Grade 1 bumper at Punchestown on his final start last season, the Gordon Elliott-trained KING OF KINGSFIELD should make a winning debut over hurdles. A former point-to-point winner, the Gigginstown-owned five-year-old has already proven his aptitude for jumping. With the potential to take high rank in the novice division this term, the Vadamos gelding should make an immediate impact. Although yet to get his head in front in five starts, Lazer Wolf has proven a consistent performer for trainer Gavin Cromwell. His previous experience over hurdles should stand to him against some lightly raced opposition. Stablemate Redstone, who was in with every chance when falling at the last fence on his only point-to-point run, is one of the more unexposed contenders.

KING OF KINGSFIELD is likely to be a warm order having finished third in the Grade 1 bumper at Punchestown on his final start last season, so Gordon Elliott's ex-pointer is taken to make a winning start in this sphere at the expense of Lazer Wolf, who sets the standard on his fourth at Kilbeggan when last seen in May. Harley Street and Redstone can also feature.

An interesting maiden, principally due to the presence of KING OF KINGSFIELD. With classy bumper form, he should be hard to beat.

LTO Selection:

15:02 Bath Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ETON COLLEGE has won two of his last three starts and a 3lb rise for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop him here. That said, Villalobos has been knocking hard on the door of late and is an obvious threat in a first-time visor. Racing Demon has also been running very well in defeat and should not be discounted, while Dream Pirate and Fact Or Fable complete the shortlist.

ETON COLLEGE is in top form and came with a strong late run to overcome a slow start at Ffos Las on his latest outing, so he gets the marginal vote in an open contest. Dream Pirate and Racing Demon look the main dangers.

Another very open handicap. Preference is for DREAM PIRATE in the hope he can carry on the good work after Yarmouth.

15:10 Hamilton Maiden (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

WINGED MESSENGER (second) had Ingleby Archie (third) behind on his penultimate start at Beverley and he has put in another solid runner-up effort at Chester since. The son of Postponed looks ready to shed his maiden tag at the fourth time of asking. Star Mind showed more than enough ability on debut when third at Carlisle to suggest a race of this nature should be within reach.

WINGED MESSENGER is the pick on these terms and did well from his draw at Chester 16 days ago. He's preferred to Ingleby Archie and once-raced Star Mind.

Julie Camacho's WINGED MESSENGER was done no favours by the draw when a very good Chester second last time out and can go one better.

15:15 Newton Abbot Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COLONEL WHIZZ is a half-brother to a couple of Rules winners and he can be fancied to have been well schooled for his debut over hurdles. Well backed for a bumper at Market Rasen in May, the son of Soldier Of Fortune has given his connections cause for optimism. Afta Party has C&D experience and is feared most, while Damarta, a stablemate of the selection, is also considered.

Olly Murphy saddles a couple of interesting contenders in COLONEL WHIZZ and Damarta and it's the former who gets the narrow vote under Sean Bowen having shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up in a Market Rasen bumper back in May. Roger Pol and Lone Solider are another couple of interest representing top yards and they should also be in the mix.

15:20 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MITIVA was friendless in the market when disappointing on handicap debut at Ballinrobe but might be a different proposition after a summer break. Liz Doyle's charge won a bumper on soft ground at Thurles last year and had a couple of good placed runs in maidens so, if she returns to form, there must be a good chance that she can defy a mark of 100. Banada Bridge brings solid handicap form to the table and has only gone down by a length on her latest two starts at Wexford and Sligo. She was runner-up on soft ground at this venue last year. Nurse Garvey has shown improvement in recent maidens and has to enter calculations on her first foray into handicaps.

CHEMDAWG showed much improved form when beaten only by a subsequent winner at Bellewstown and can go one better up only 2 lb. Banada Bridge and Sayitfirst are feared most.

The one to beat though could be topweight MITIVA, well beaten on her handicap debut at Ballinrobe but the stable are in much better form

15:32 Bath Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Three-time C&D winner Lilandra is an appealing contender, while only a short head separated Paco's Pride (second) and Eye Of The Water (third) when they clashed here in June. However, preference is for ROUNDABOUT SILVER, who was a cosy winner over C&D in August and again rates as a serious player having finished a close third off this mark at Epsom 18 days ago.

ROUNDABOUT SILVER goes well here and fared best of those up with the pace at Epsom last time, so he gets the marginal vote over the consistent Paco's Pride in an open race. Eye of The Water is another one to consider.

Plenty with chances but it might pay to risk TRANQUILITY who came from well behind to make the frame at Ffos Las.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

CLASSIC TIMES made light work of her opening mark at Sandown in a first-time hood and she should have more to come on only her fifth career start. The three-year-old filly has been hit with an 11lb hike, but she could be up to the task. Zarabanda is in great heart at the moment, as she hasn't finished outside of the first two home on each of her last three outings. Anjo Bonita is seeking her hat-trick and she should mount a bold bid after victory at York.

CLASSIC TIMES made a mockery of her opening mark when making a winning handicap debut in good style at Sandown recently. She's been hit with an 11 lb hike in the weights, but this well-bred filly remains unexposed and may well be equal to the task. The consistent Anjo Bonita took another step forward when bagging a York handicap last month and looks sure to be in the mix, while both Zarabanda and Fiver Friday arrive here in good form, too.

David O'Meara's filly ZARABANDA is on a roll and taken to quickly resume winning ways here on the back of her excellent Leicester second

15:45 Newton Abbot Handicap Chase (Class 3) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

JET PLANE wasn't fully extended when winning over a similar trip at Ludlow when last seen and, having won two of his six previous starts over fences, he looks the type to make some further progress in this sphere. Tommie Beau has match-fitness on his side and is next best, although Investment Manager is a previous C&D winner who also commands respect.

JET PLANE looked better than ever when making all in good style at Ludlow in May and a 5 lb rise doesn't look insurmountable if backing up that performance. Bells of Peterboro has been given a chance by the handicapper back over fences and is next best ahead of the in-form Investment Manager.

He lost his way last season but FANTASTIKAS (nap), a very useful novice chaser in 2021-22, can exploit this significant ease in grade.

15:50 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SHANNON ROYALE cost plenty after finishing second in a point-to-point for Denis Murphy and can make a winning start over hurdles. Related to plenty of jumps winners, he disappointed when well fancied for a hot bumper at this venue on stable debut but got the job done in good style on heavy ground at Clonmel in April. Skradin has lots of experience and has been running solid races in maidens over this trip. He handles heavy ground and gets nearly a stone from the selection. Huntsgrove has shown a fair level of ability in bumpers and was second to a smart-looking newcomer at Listowel. He has a good chance of being in the money on hurdling debut.

SHANNON ROYALE was a convincing winner of a Clonmel bumper in April and looks to been found a good opportunity to make a successful transition to hurdling here. Skradin and Huntsgrove may provide the chief threat.

There's no depth to this and SHANNON ROYALE is hard to oppose after winning a Clonmel bumper that's worked out well.

LTO Selection:

16:02 Bath Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Off a mark of 72, Whoop Whoop (second) doesn't set the bar excruciatingly high but she had enough in hand over Crooked Crown (third) when they met over 5f at Ffos Las 18 days ago. Nevertheless, the form of WHITELEY WAY's penultimate effort has worked out well, given the winner subsequently landed a sales race at Newmarket. She faces nothing of that calibre here, and offers strong appeal on her nursery debut.

GOODEVENINGMRBOND may have found the race coming too soon at Haydock last time and he was impressive at Chepstow on his penultimate outing, so he's worth a chance to get back to winning ways having had more of a break. Whoop Whoop is the obvious danger and Newport Bay isn't without hope stepped up in trip.

Preference is for NEWPORT BAY, who looks likely to improve for this extended 5f. Goodeveningmrbond is second choice.

16:10 Hamilton Handicap (Class 3) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MR PROFESSOR bounced back to form with an impressive victory at Goodwood last week and the four-year-old is hard to oppose on the back of that performance, despite carrying a 5lb penalty. The unexposed Botanical is an obvious threat following his promising handicap debut at Ascot a few weeks ago, while Baryshnikov edges out Cockalorum to be the pick of the remainder.

BOTANICAL would have benefited from a stronger gallop when third on his handicap bow at Ascot last month and can improve past his older rivals, including Mr Professor and Baryshnikov.

Judged on his novice form, BOTANICAL (nap) still looks nicely treated and is well worth another chance. Mr Professor is feared most

16:15 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BEST MATE DAVE was 12 lengths clear of the third when denied by a neck over 2m7f at Worcester last time and he could show improvement for this further step up in distance. The son of Passing Glance goes off a 4lb higher mark here, which is unlikely to stop him from going one better. The recent C&D victor Ben Lilly has to be respected in his follow-up bid off only a 3lb higher rating, while Coal Fire will appreciate this step back down in grade.

This looks very trappy indeed and the suggestion is FORTUNATE FRED, who benefited from the step up to this trip when fourth in a big-field handicap here in August and he is appealing off the same mark. Coal Fire is likely to appreciate this stiffer test and he has to be feared, along with recent C&D scorer Ben Lilly.

The answer to a competitive race might be BEST MATE DAVE, who went down fighting against a next-time-out winner at Worcester last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

EMILY IN PARIS, in common with several stablemates, hit form during the summer and recorded back-to-back wins at Killarney and Sligo. A creditable third in a useful contest at Ballinrobe last time, she's down in grade and might be able to resume winning ways although she wouldn't want the ground too deep. Hand Over Fist is on a hat-trick after beating a subsequent winner at Roscommon. He stays this trip well but is another who wouldn't want underfoot conditions to deteriorate too much. On his third run back after a long absence, Ragin Cajun was a wide margin winner over this trip at Listowel. Matt Smith's ten-year-old isn't the easiest to predict and has gone up 9lb in the ratings but has to be rated a danger.

HAND OVER FIST has shown improved form the last twice, bagging handicaps at Bellewstown and Roscommon under Mike O'Connor. The 6-y-o is taken to complete the hat-trick, perhaps at the chief expense of Jukebox Jive. Atacanter is worth considering from an each-way perspective, a remark which also applies to Hot As Pepper.

Preference is for RAGIN CAJUN (nap) who will be hard to stop if coming here in the same form as at Listowel two weeks ago

LTO Selection:

16:32 Bath Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Delagate This Lord has registered eight of his nine career wins at this course and it would be folly to suggest he isn't capable of adding to that tally despite running off 5lb higher than last month's C&D success. However, PENGUIN ISLAND is less exposed over sprint distances and, off just 2lb higher than her 5f win at Chepstow in July, Henry Candy's filly rates as a more intriguing option. Sergeant Pep and Magnificence are others to consider.

DELAGATE THIS LORD is really thriving for his current yard and he's still well treated on past exploits, so he's fancied to make it 4 course wins from his last 5 outings. Fellow last-time-out winner Buccabay is a definite threat and Penguin Island is worthy of respect.

The drop back in grade may well enable CRAZY LUCK to regain the winning thread. Recent C&D scorer Buccabay is second choice.

MAC AILEY was an easy three-length winner of an apprentice race over C&D a week ago and the seven-year-old clearly sets the standard without a penalty here. Dream Final has shown promise on his last couple of starts and it would be no surprise to see him go well on his handicap bow. Others to note are Retirement Beckons and Banner Road.

It's hard to look past MAC AILEY who carries no penalty for last week's comfortable C&D success. Yeeeaah and Shine On Brendan rate the principal dangers.

Preference is for ARKENSTAAR, who has a progressive record at Hamilton and returns here off an attractive mark.

16:45 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SHERBORNE scored in comfortable fashion over C&D when last seen in May and that made it a double after his victory at Ffos Las earlier that month. The son of Getaway is 6lb higher than last time but, considering his rapid improvement, he could complete the hat-trick. Just Loose Change returns from a break after his victory at Taunton over 2m3f and he could get involved, while Rambo T will find this easier than his assignment at Haydock last time.

C&D winner SHERBORNE still looks feasibly treated and is fancied to score again. Just Loose Change and Rambo T rate the principal dangers.

With his breathing issues resolved, SHERBORNE got his career back on track with two wins in the spring. He gets the nod.

16:50 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TANGO THEATRE has been placed on her last three completed starts in similar events and deserves a winning turn. The point-to-point winner finished well on soft ground at Limerick in July and had both Croi Corcra and He Fitz In behind when beating all bar the impressive Cathys Quest over this trip at Kilbeggan last time. He Fitz In now reverts to hurdles after falling when in front at the last in Sligo last week. Doyen For A Drink filled the runner-up spot in the other division of that aforementioned three-mile Kilbeggan handicap last month. The Paul Nolan-trained mare finished well clear of the remainder and holds Mooney Boy and Suile Ban on that run. Wild As Fire has claims if fit enough after a summer break, while Greatmindstinkalik merits consideration if building on her recent effort at Listowel.

Having won his latest hurdling outing, HE FITZ IN fell with the race at his mercy at Sligo 5 days ago and, provided he's none the worse for that, he might well be able to gain compensation back over the smaller obstacles. Tango Theat and Doyen For A Drink both look serious dangers.

The answer could could be the unexposed DOYEN FOR A DRINK who shaped very well at Kilbeggan over this trip and the stable is in form

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ABRUZZO MIA appeared to win a shade cosily on his return to action over C&D last month and looks capable of defying a 5lb rise in the ratings. Power of Darkness found the switch to more aggressive tactics to his liking when making all at Salisbury last time out and the eight-year-old must enter calculations. Fellow in-form rivals Yoshimi and Showtime Mahomes are others to consider in a competitive opener.

The vote goes to VERONA STAR, who returned to form following a string of below par efforts off this reduced mark when third over C&D recently. Lion's Dream doesn't always help himself by pulling hard but he put in a decent shift at Doncaster last time and he went close on his sole previous visit here off an 11 lb higher mark in February. Last-time-out winners Showtime Mahomes and Abruzzo Mia also command respect.

Abruzzo Mia is respected, but former sprinter SHOWTIME MAHOMES is unexposed over this trip and remains on a fair mark.

17:05 Bath Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALMATY STAR cruised home to shed his maiden tag at cramped odds last time and he now returns to the handicapping ranks off a rating of 80. The son of Kodiac could have improvement in him, which makes him the one to side with. Kodi Red made a pleasing start to life under new trainer Darryll Holland when fourth at Doncaster and should be considered, while last-time-out victor Pop Dancer isn't out of it either.

ALMATY STAR made the most of a good opportunity to open his account at Lingfield recently and Roger Varian's charge is fancied to remain unbeaten at the minimum trip having just his second start in a handicap. Level Up can give the selection most to think about with his usual visor back on, ahead of Kodi Red and C&D winner this year Connie's Rose.

An open sprint. ALMATY STAR's long odds-on maiden win told us nothing new other than he's quick enough for 5f.

EMERALDS PRIDE completed the hat-trick when just prevailing by a nose at Redcar, and she was only raised 3lb for that success. The daughter of Pride Of Dubai seems to be just doing enough in her races, which is making it difficult for the handicapper to catch up. Speedacus was victorious in this grade at Leicester recently and he ought to go close once again, while High Opinion also looks a solid contender.

The thriving EMERALDS PRIDE completed the hat-trick by the narrowest of margins at Redcar 2 weeks ago, but she came clear with the runner-up that day so can defy a 3 lb rise. Last week's Leicester winner Speedacus is feared most under a penalty ahead of One Last Hug.

Michael Dods's filly EMERALDS PRIDE hasn't looked back since refitted with cheekpieces and can defy a 3lb rise for her gutsy Redcar win

17:15 Newton Abbot Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LADY BERLAIS was well held when last seen in March at Bangor but she was dropped 2lb in the ratings for that effort. The five-year-old has since switched yards to the in-form Dan Skelton stable and that could bring out the improvement needed to take this. Ryder's Rock wasn't entirely disgraced when seventh on her handicap bow over 2m1f here and she goes in a first-time tongue tie, which could eke out more. Baby Sham is capable at this level and is another to consider.

BABY SHAM had excuses on both outings since scoring at Fontwell in June and, after a short break, she's worth a chance to bounce back and land a weak contest. Lady Berlais is an obvious threat on debut for Dan Skelton and the market should be informative with regard to her chance.

Now 3lb lower than when placed in a big field on her handicap debut, LADY BERLAIS could be hard to beat on her debut for Dan Skelton.

17:20 Fairyhouse NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ZEFIRO DODVILLE won his only point-to-point start for Colin Bowe at Portrush last year and that race has produced a couple of subsequent winners under Rules. The son of Saint Des Saints has since joined Gordon Elliott and it will be interesting to see how strong he is in the market. Midleton Rare has shown promise on all three bumper outings including when runner-up at Sligo and the form of his latest run at the Galway Festival has been working out well since. The booking of Jody Townend is certainly a plus. Locorotondo showed improved form when runner-up at Roscommon but now reappears after a 12-month break, while Rocco Boyo was also second last time behind the odds-on Polly's Fortune on soft ground at Limerick.

ZEFIRO DODVILLE was picked up by top connections on the back of a point win and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to make a successful start to his Rules career. Rocco Boyo looks the main threat and Locorotondo could feature if he's tuned up.

It wasn't a strong point that ZEFIRO DODVILLE won at Portrush but he will surely go on to better things for his top yard.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PRINCE ACHILLE was value for further when scoring over C&D in September and is fancied to uphold form with reopposing Oscar Doodle (second) despite the 1lb worse terms. Brian Ellison's gelding is likely to be on the premises once more and cannot be dismissed in his current form. Spirit Of Ash was runner-up over track and trip on Tuesday and also warrants consideration off the same mark here.

Recent C&D winner PRINCE ACHILLE still looks on a workable mark and can follow up. Oscar Doodle and Spirit of Ash can also make their presence felt.

The vote goes to SPIRIT OF ASH (nap), who'll probably fluff the start but who's well up to making it 3-4 over C&D off this mark.

LTO Selection:

17:38 Bath Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MISS DOLLY ROCKER showed plenty of promise to finish second on her handicap bow at Chepstow and she was kindly left on the same rating. The daughter of Frontiersman takes a drop in grade and she looks well placed to go well. Mambo Beat did it nicely in a class 6 event at Ffos Las and he should go well off a 4lb higher mark. Of the remainder, Orange Martini makes the most appeal.

JACK SPAROWE continues to go from strength to strength this term, and with his latest success worth marking up a touch (did well to come from the rear), John Butler's 4-y-o is fancied to make it 3 wins from his last 4 starts. Mambo Beat is talented but he's seemingly hard to train so he's tentatively put forward as the main danger given his frailties, with Swing To The Stars and Meleri rounding off the shortlist.

Unexposed filly SHOWY (nap) is taken to build on her solid C&D effort and go one better. Miss Dolly Rocker is second choice.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Hamilton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Jaminoz struck with ease over 1m1f around here last week and he warrants plenty of respect, with only 5lb extra to carry. However, this represents a big step up in distance, so the vote instead goes to ASK PETER, who had Ebony Maw behind when victorious by a length over C&D last time. She can go in again. Another last-time-out winner Lunacy completes the shortlist.

If in the same mood as when scoring here eight days ago, LUNACY will take plenty of stopping under a penalty. Jaminoz was also a decisive course winner on his latest start and he is a greatly respected under a penalty, too. Graces Quest is dangerous to discount off this reduced mark, while Rory The Cat was no match for Luncay here last time but he's pretty consistent on the whole and should give another good account.

Some in-form sorts on show and LUNACY, who won easily here eight days ago, can prove too strong for Ebony Maw.

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Representing the George Boughey yard, CONCORDE is a thoroughly likeable sort. The three-year-old put a blip, when seventh at Pontefract in June, behind him with a taking victory at Newbury recently. The son of Sixties Icon is fancied to continue his upward trajectory by completing a double off 5lb higher. Vaguely Royal displayed more promise when fourth at Doncaster last month and is feared most, ahead of top-weight Savvy Knight, who posted a solid second over C&D in July.

CONCORDE is still progressing and can register his fifth win of the season. Vaguely Royal and Savvy Knight are feared most.

It's easy enough to pick holes in most of these but not CONCORDE, who's fancied to defy a 5lb rise and make it 5-7 in handicaps.

Consoling sets a reasonable standard and is notable back in a novice stakes after a near-miss in a nursery here last month. That form looks solid and there should be more to come from Ollie Pears' filly. Nevertheless, PLACEHOLDER looked professional when making a winning start over C&D three weeks ago and the daughter of Masar is taken retain her unbeaten status. Vintage Love is preferred over Gregorina as best of the rest.

An open novice event, and not easy to rule any out, but PLACEHOLDER gets the nod after her winning debut with the possibility of more to come. Gregorina has a bit to find but can be expected to take a step forward from her debut Brighton fourth, while Vintage Love is more exposed but is marginally the pick on form on these terms.

Granted normal progress, PLACEHOLDER could well defy a 7lb penalty and follow up her C&D win. Consoling is second choice.

19:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having won his last two starts in a pleasing manner, TROPICAL AIR has looked a different proposition since he was gelded and the hat-tick looks to be on the cards. A 6lb penalty is a slight concern, which opens the door for the likes of Socialise to throw down the gauntlet in first-time cheekpieces. Miss Rainbow and Unowho also appeal as live dangers.

TROPICAL AIR is on a roll now and looks up to completing the hat-trick under a penalty. Unowho is next best ahead of Rock Lodge.

The progressive TROPICAL AIR has been found the perfect race as he looks to complete a hat-trick. Rock Lodge is second best.

19:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The hat-tirck seeking Rodborough appears capable of launching another bold bid, despite being 5lb higher than the most recent of her victories. However, this is more demanding and a supporting role could await if DANDY DINMONT continues to build on what has been a respectable string of recent performances. Having won under Faye McManoman over C&D around this time last year, a 4lb higher mark might not be prevent a return to wining ways. Jojo Rabbit and Bayraat are also feared.

RODBOROUGH was going away at the finish when making it 2 from 2 in this headgear at Southwell 5 weeks ago and can complete the hat-trick. Sound Reason is back on a winning mark back down is class and is not taken lightly, with in-form 3-y-o Moulin Booj another to consider.

There won't be any trip or ground excuses for MOULIN BOOJ this evening and he can prove he is still a well-handicapped sprinter.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

REEL PROSPECT showed plenty of ability on his debut at Nottingham when a close-up third and the four-year-old would have learned a great deal from that experience, so he can take a step forward to strike. Karmology produced a shock result to deny Doom by a length on debut and she could prove that was no fluke. Akkadian Thunder isn't out of it either after his success at Kempton.

Debut-winner KARMOLOGY is the pick on these terms and open to improvement, so she gets the nod over Akkadian Thunder, another winner first time up. Reel Prospect also shaped well on debut, and it will be interesting to see what the market has to say after a long lay-off.

There appeared no fluke about KARMOLOGY's surprise beating of a 1-25 shot on debut and she's narrowly preferred to Akkadian Thunder

GIRL FROM ITALY had Pop Favorite (fourth) well held when second over C&D last time and she has only been put up 2lb for that display. The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor could take another step forward to shed her maiden tag. Intoxicata showed a liking for a first-time visor as she filled the runner-up berth at Chelmsford on her latest outing and she has to be respected, along with Coconut Bay.

Preference is for GIRL FROM ITALY, who has found improvement since switching to artificial surfaces and remains feasibly treated. Intoxicata and Jewel of Kabeir should also go well.

Three-time course winner ROYAL PROSPECT hasn't had much luck of late and gets the nod for his new yard off a career-low mark.

Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
