1st (7) Imperial Data (5/2 +17%)
Imperial Data

5/2(+17%)
(7) Imperial Data 5/2, Irish point winner who, having hit the crossbar on each of his first 3 starts under Rules, deservedly got his head in front when seeing off 7 rivals in a Kelso maiden (20.9f, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. That was his first run following a wind op and he probably has more to offer.
Winning Irish pointer; won Kelso maiden hurdle last time after a wind op; interesting.

Theatre Legend

40/1(-150%)
(2) Theatre Legend 40/1, Winless since early 2021 and probably best watched here on the back of a 16-month absence.
Two ordinary runs following wind surgery in March 2022; off for 508 days; plenty to prove..

3rd (6) Cabrakan (7/2 +56%)
Cabrakan

7/2(+56%)
(6) Cabrakan 7/2, Successful twice last winter, latterly a Hereford handicap off this mark in February. Mixed bag since but he wasn't disgraced when fourth of 10 at Bangor (16.7f, good) last time and could have a part to play here.
Two wins at up to 2m3f last term; fair form in handicaps this summer; not out of it.
4
4th (4) Ve Day (14/1 -56%)
Ve Day

14/1(-56%)
(4) Ve Day 14/1, Fair maiden on the level for Andrew Balding and landed 4-runner juvenile at Musselburgh (2m, good to soft) on hurdles debut in March. Has failed to add to that in 5 subsequent starts, though, and only fifth off this mark on handicap debut in this sphere at Bangor.
Won juvenile hurdle in March; fair form in novices/handicap since; first run at 2m4f.
5th
5th (11) Iolani (22/1 -38%)
Iolani

22/1(-38%)
(11) Iolani 22/1, Veteran who arrives here on a losing run that stretches back to September 2021 and while he put in a decent shift at Kelso recently, it's probably best to look elsewhere.
Not won for two years but fair third at Kelso last time and is not out of it.
6th
6th (5) Dream Jet (16/5 +9%)
Dream Jet

16/5(+9%)
(5) Dream Jet 16/5, Irish import who left his previous efforts a long way behind when landing a Stratford maiden hurdle (18.7f, soft) on second start for this yard last month. Remains open to improvement and very much of interest back in handicap company.
Won Stratford maiden hurdle last time (2m2f) and has a chance back into a handicap.
7th
7th (1) Alqamar (12/1 -60%)
Alqamar

12/1(-60%)
(1) Alqamar 12/1, Completed a four-timer in 2021, with 3 wins registered over 17.2f at Cartmel. Out of luck since and while he continues to slide down the weights (now 17 lb below last winning mark), others make more appeal.
Not won since 2021; well treated now and should fare better down in trip on better ground.
8th
8th (8) Kajaki (8/1 +33%)
Kajaki

8/1(+33%)
(8) Kajaki 8/1, Three of his 5 wins over hurdles have been gained at this course. Returned to form when striking at Perth during the spring but has found life tougher since and one or two of these look stronger on balance.
Not the most consistent (poor run latest), but won this race off 6lb higher in 2022 (28-1).
9th
9th (3) Ragamuffin (16/1 -78%)
Ragamuffin

16/1(-78%)
(3) Ragamuffin 16/1, Three-time chase winner in 2022 and posted easily his best effort so far this year when runner-up in a handicap hurdle at Worcester (2½m, good to soft) in August. Failed to build on that next time but still dangerous to discount having dipped to an appealing mark.
Three wins over fences in 2022; not won over hurdles since but a chance on his best form.

10th (9) Titanium Bullet (14/1 +0%)
Titanium Bullet

14/1(+0%)
(9) Titanium Bullet 14/1, Yet to get his head in front but has made the frame on a few occasions, including when fourth in a 10-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (23.3f, good to soft) on latest start in May. Each-way chance off 1 lb lower on debut for new yard.
£32,000 purchase in May; good 2nd in Huntingdon h'cap in Feb; may need the run after break.

Demi Sang

50/1(-52%)
(10) Demi Sang 50/1, Scored twice for this yard during 2021/22 campaign, latterly over this C&D off a 13 lb higher mark. However, he hasn't shown much in 2 starts for new yard since returning from a year off in June.
C&D winner in 2022; below par this summer having missed a year; bit to prove now.
LTO Selection:

13:30 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

IMPERIAL DATA got off the mark under Rules at Kelso last month and that form suggests that he could be hard to beat now returned to handicap company. Ragamuffin failed to fire on soft ground last time but is more than capable of going well here if the rain stays away, while Ve Day and Dream Jet are others who could go well.

DREAM JET and Imperial Data both have relatively low mileage and could be the pair to concentrate on. The latter appeared to have benefited from a wind operation when opening his hurdles account at Kelso and he is not passed over lightly, but Dream Jet is marginally preferred on the back of his breakthrough success at Stratford.Titanium Bullet makes each-way appeal, while Cabrakan and Ragamuffin are others who could make an impact.

In a tricky race it could pay to take a chance on KAJAKI, who is not easy to predict, but won this race off 6lb higher last season

(7) Cosa Sara 8/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win here in September. Respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, good to soft, 5/1) 8 days ago.
Held on narrowly over 7f here on penultimate start; 4-12 at this venue.
LTO Selection:

13:42 Ayr Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HORTZADAR had Ventura Rascal (second) and Hale End (fifth) behind when scoring by a length over C&D last month and he was put up 3lb for that effort. The eight-year-old remains well below his previous winning mark of 91 in April last year and he looks ready to strike once again. If Cosa Sara can run to the level of her penultimate start, when successful over 7f at this track, then she could also have a say.

HORTZADAR looks the pick on form judged on his recent C&D win, and gets the nod over Hale End and Cosa Sara.

The 3yo HALE END is taken to show more progress and reverse recent C&D placings with Ventura Rascal and Hortzadar.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Galway Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

POUR LES FILLES looks a nice sort for novice hurdling this season and can make a winning start over timber. The Pour Moi gelding won a point-to-point on debut last year and was also successful on his first outing for Gordon Elliott in a Leopardstown bumper over Christmas. He ended his campaign with a fine run to finish fifth in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April. He'll probably want further than this in time but it looks like a nice starting point. Olympic Man is the obvious danger from the Willie Mullins yard. The Martaline gelding showed promise when third in a strong maiden hurdle here at the festival meeting and is entitled to improve from that. Mullins also saddles Armed And Fabulous, who has shown up well in a few bumpers. She could be place material.

OLYMPIC MAN made a promising start for Willie Mullins after a long absence when third here and can build on it now to fend off Gordon Elliott's interesting hurdling newcomer Pour Les Filles, who brings useful winning bumper form to the table. Armed And Fabulous, a stablemate of the selection, and Tom Kelly can fight it out for minor honours.

Winner of his only point-to-point and of the first of two bumper starts, POUR LES FILLES can make a winning start over hurdles

LTO Selection:

14:00 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THATS JET put in a career best over hurdles when a close second at Killarney in August and a reproduction of that level form may well be good enough to see him make a winning start for new connections. Think Climate has disappointed on the Flat this year but should not be underestimated here, while Weigh Anchor is another to consider.

THATS JET is exposed as a modest maiden on the level but has taken well to hurdling and, having pulled a long way clear with a promising sort on his final outing for Ross O'Sullivan at Killarney, there's no real urge to take him on. Weigh Anchor has shown a fair level of form on the Flat and ought to be up to making her presence felt in a race like this over hurdles, while Noble Hill Top is a debutante who represents a yard that does very well with its runners in the UK.

The experienced THATS JET\ is taken to get off the mark on his fourth run over hurdles by beating \bLatin Verse and Weigh Anchor.

14:12 Ayr Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Inexperience at the start probably did for GOLDEN STRIKE on his debut at Pontefract 12 days ago but the manner in which he powered home to claim a close third was notable and he could be a different proposition with that experience to draw upon. Glory Hyde also catches the eye after a solid run at York last moth, while Bona Fortuna and Firebird appeal most from the newcomers.

GOLDEN STRIKE is the obvious one after a promising debut at Pontefract 12 days ago, the pick on form and sure to improve. Glory Hyde is more exposed but next best on form, while Bona Fortuna is the interesting newcomer.

The pick of the runners with experience is GOLDEN STRIKE. Bona Fortuna and Beneath The Sand are respected newcomers.

14:20 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LUSITANIEN secured a comfortable victory at Worcester over an extended 2m on his latest outing and an 8lb rise might not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Magic Mike was far from disgraced when third at Hexham last time and he should go well off a 1lb lower rating, while Uncle O continues to drop in the ratings and could get into contention.

Fergal O'Brien's LUSITANIEN got off the mark in great style at Worcester on his chase/yard debut and is hard to oppose despite being raised 8 lb in the weights. Magic Mike seems sure to figure prominently too if, as expected, building on his recent Hexham third. C&D winner Atlantic Storm can have a say too.

The most obvious answer is LUSITANIEN, who looked revitalised when winning on his chasing debut at Worcester three weeks ago.

14:25 Galway Handicap Hurdle 19f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TOMAS O MAILLE has been knocking on the door and may be able to gain a deserved win here. The Arakan gelding has been placed on his last three outings and has been runner-up twice around here. His ability to handle soft ground could prove key. Arctic Ambition is a better horse over fences but has some solid placed form over timber and has to be on the shortlist. He has won on heavy ground in the past so looks versatile. Lake Chad tries to make use of a lower mark back over hurdles and is another that has to come into calculations.

ARCTIC AMBITION rates the pick of these weights so is fancied to bag a third win of the season at the chief expense of in-form maidenTomas O Maille. Lake Chad is on a long losing run but can have a say too along with Killinure Lass, who can build on her reappearance eighth here.

Placed over a range of distances TOMAS O MAILLE may get a winning turn here for his small County Mayo stable

14:35 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JUMPING SUSIE has filled second place in three of her last four starts but she has been found an ideal opportunity to go one better here. Wholeofthemoon showed some promise in both of his starts over hurdles last season and he managed to win on the level a few months ago. With that in mind, Donald McCain's gelding edges out City Vaults and My Chiquita to be best of the rest.

JUMPING SUSIE is proving a little expensive to follow but she showed a good attitude in defeat at Kelso 3 weeks ago and is worth one more chance to get off the mark. Wholeofthemoon makes appeal back over hurdles and is second choice, with City Vaults and hurdling-debutante My Chiquita others to note.

Brian Hughes rides WHOLEOFTHEMOON (nap) and the selection has won on the Flat since showing an aptitude for hurdling.

14:47 Ayr Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Course specialist Ayr Poet returns to a more suitable trip after a near-miss over 1m4f at Hamilton last week and should go well off a 2lb lower mark, but the progressive STAR START is just preferred. The penny has really dropped for the Rebecca Menzies-trained gelding, who made it two wins from his last three starts when scoring over this trip at Beverley last week and he escapes a penalty for that apprentice handicap success. Montevideo is respected on her handicap debut.

STAR START is enjoying a very good season and fancied to bag a fourth win given he escapes a penalty for his cosy apprentices' success at Beverley a week ago. Multiple C&D scorer Glasses Up is always to be feared round here and next on the list ahead of fellow course specialist Ayr Poet.

Last year's runner-up TILSITT is favourably handicapped and may well prove capable of going one better. Star Start is feared most.

LTO Selection:

14:55 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SWAPPED won with his head in his chest at Southwell when making his first start for the Charles & Adam Pogson stable, which brought up the hat-trick for the son of Sinndar. He has been hit with an 11lb hike for that victory, but that could still underestimate his ability. The main threat is Tango Echo Charlie, who was a winner himself at Fontwell last time and he could get involved off 9lb higher, while No Regrets is another to consider on the back of his Hexham success.

SWAPPED was predictably hit hard by the handicapper following his facile victory on debut for new connections here last month, going up 11 lb. However, he barely broke sweat that day and probably has enough in the locker to complete the four-timer. Tango Echo Charlie made a winning start in this sphere at Fontwell and rates the main danger ahead of No Regrets.

All of these have something going for them but SWAPPED was seen to very good effect here on last month's stable debut and is selected.

15:00 Galway Handicap Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The locally-trained GETAWAY MASTER is the suggestion in this open affair. An eyecatcher when a never-nearer fourth on his penultimate start at Kilbeggan, the six-year-old since finished a good third when tried over a much longer trip here early last month. Back down in distance now and off a mark of 80, it'll be disappointing if he's not involved towards the business end in a contest of this quality. A runner-up on two of her last three starts, Mullins Cross is given second preference. Turned out again quickly after going down by a length at Gowran on Friday, it'll come as no surprise if she manages to go a place better now. A half-sister to eight-time winner Pakens Rock, Healys Island (first-time tongue-strap) is an interesting contender. A solid third on her handicap debut at Kilbeggan last month, she is open to further progress. Top-weight Young Fitzy and John Ryan's Kilashee are other leading hopes.

You have to go back to August 2021 for when MULLINS CROSS gained her sole success from 25 starts over hurdles, but she's been in good heart of late and looks ready to strike having found just one too good off this mark in a 15-runner Gowran handicap last week. Getaway Master's last two efforts have been his best to date and he is second choice ahead of Young Fitzy.

Friday's Gowran second Mullins Cross is respected but she may not cope with YOUNG FITZY who defied a 7lb higher mark here in 2021

15:10 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LATINO FLING held on to win in this grade at Stratford, which made it three out of her last four starts, and she has been let off lightly with only a 1lb rise. The daughter of Milan can continue her upward curve and go in again. Tupelo Mississippi filled the runner-up berth in a class 4 event at Hexham last time and he has had a wind operation since, so could have a say. Irish raider Construct warrants a market check too.

LATINO FLING made it eight wins form her last 18 starts with a gutsy performance on her chase debut at Stratford and, with the promise of better to come from this 8-y-o over fences, she is taken to follow up off just a 1 lb higher mark. Tupelo Mississippi is the clear pick for forecast purposes ahead of Hidden Depths.

Despite modest efforts in his latest two starts, HIDDEN DEPTHS is taken to win this quite competitive little contest.

15:22 Ayr Handicap (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Master Zoffany has to be respected following his win at Chester a month ago, while similar comments apply to William Dewhirst and Autumn Festival following their recent victories. That said, preference is for ABDUCTION, whose recent effort in the Silver Cup at this venue can easily be forgiven. Prior to that, the five-year-old was not disgraced in a valuable race over 7f at Ascot and a reproduction of that form would give him a big chance.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL looks well treated under a penalty for his Beverley success, and can get the better of Master Zoffany and On A Session.

Beverley scorer AUTUMN FESTIVAL (nap) looks capable of defying the 5lb penalty judged on peak form. Abduction is feared most.

MYSTIC MAN justified favouritism with ease over C&D last month but was hit with an 11lb hike for that success. However, considering the manner of that victory he could be well up to the task on only his second start for the Harry Derham stable. Dirk Gently filled the runner-up spot at Worcester last time and has to be considered off only 1lb higher, while Bensini is also of interest sporting first-time cheekpieces.

MYSTIC MAN can go on improving and another victory looks on the cards. Dirk Gently might be the danger.

Progressive 6yo MYSTIC MAN (nap) has taken well to chasing this year and he always looked in command when making all here last month.

LTO Selection:

15:35 Galway Conditions Chase 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

With a rating of 155, FERONILY is the one to beat. He defeated a quality field when taking a Grade 1 at Punchestown last season, providing Emmet Mullins and Donagh Meyler with their first success at the highest level. Last seen finishing a solid fifth in the French Champion Hurdle at Auteuil in May, the six-year-old starts off in the colours of JP McManus now. Frontal Assault won this race 12 months ago and has run some good races in defeat since. Fifth in the Troytown and sixth in the Thyestes, he should be able to put his experience to good use. Lucid Dreams impressed at Sligo last week and it'll be interesting to see how he fares stepping up in class. My Design faces a stiff task but isn't without a squeak, getting weight from her three rivals and with Ray Barron claiming 7lb.

Provided all is well following a break, FERONILY will prove very hard to beat. He showed plenty in bumpers and over hurdles, but there was immediate improvement when switched to fences during the spring, finishing second in a Cork Grade 3 prior to a top-level success at the Punchestown Festival. This unexposed 6-y-o almost certainly has more to offer as a chaser. Lucid Dreams scored in good style on his debut in this sphere at Sligo and is next best ahead of My Design.

This should be fairly straightforward for FERONILY who is very much favoured by the race conditions on his first start in these colours

FEARLESS finished miles clear of the third when only beaten just over a length at Uttoxeter latest, and he was given a 6lb rise for that. The eight-year-old was returning from a long break that day and he could easily take a step forward to go one better. Aliomaana was a close-up third at Stratford last month and she should go well, while last-time-out victor Tonto's Spirit has to be considered off 5lb higher.

FEARLESS returned from a lengthy absence with an excellent second at Uttoxeter and is weighted to go one better here. Aliomaana is feared most on the back of her encouraging Stratford chasing debut third with course-scorer Tonto's Spirit also in the picture.

Having broken a long losing run at Cartmel last time, TONTO'S SPIRIT is taken to follow up by beating the in-form Fearless.

KALGANOV (second) had Jkr Cobbler (third) behind over C&D on his penultimate start before following up that effort with victory at Redcar. The son of Gutaifan looks to have been found another golden opportunity to strike. As for the latter, he recorded a hat-trick prior to his defeat last time and can get involved once again. Of the remainder, New Tycoon makes the most appeal on his first start for the Liam Bailey yard.

JKR COBBLER has enjoyed a fruitful second half of the season at this track and he's fancied to add another win on the back of a good effort here 12 days ago. Last-time-out winner Kalganov is a big player and Code Purple can't be ruled out.

DESTROYTHEEVIDENCE hand plenty in hand when getting off the mark at Worcester in May and the son of Kayf Tara is hard to oppose on his return to action. That said, Butch has also shown a high level of ability already and he could give the selection plenty to think about. Tzarmix is another with valid form claims, while Cheltenam De Vaige is the pick of the remainder.

BUTCH was very much going the right way over hurdles towards the end of last season and, with the step up to 3m likely to suit on his return, this looks a good opportunity for him to resume winning ways. Tzarmix rallied well to get up in the closing stages at Chepstow in March and may do better still for his new yard, especially over this sort of trip, with Destroytheevidence capable of making his presence felt, too.

Destroytheevidence is respected but preference is for BUTCH, who brings a solid piece of handicap form back into novice company.

LTO Selection:

16:10 Galway Maiden Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PERCEVAL LEGALLOIS was the best of these over flights and looks the one to beat as he tackles fences for the first time. He won a valuable Grade B contest at the Dublin Racing Festival in February and while most effective over further, he was successful in a two-mile bumper on debut. Patrick Mullins will don his own silks aboard Meetingofthewaters, with this six-year-old an interesting contender on his debut for current connections. A dual winner over flights when in the care of Eugene O'Sullivan, he could come into his own over the larger obstacles. Itswhatunitesus won three of his first five starts, but has been very disappointing since. Returning from a break, though, he should be able to make his presence felt. A winner at the Festival here in July, Neveradullmoment warrants respect, while Japers Jack looks the best of the rest.

PERCEVAL LEGALLOIS was last seen landing a competitive handicap hurdle at Leopardstown and he's the type to take to chasing, so he gets the nod ahead of Meetingofthewaters, who is also having a first try over fences having moved to a powerful stable. Itswhatunitesus can't be ruled out despite an underwhelming performance last time.

Gavin Cromwell's PERCEVAL LEGALLOIS showed his standout form over hurdles at 3m but he's not short of speed.

LTO Selection:

16:20 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CARDANO, who was rated 100 at his peak on the Flat, has to be of interest as he returns to hurdles at a modest level, and may well be able to use this as a stepping stone to bigger things throughout the winter. Copper Fox could be the one to give the selection a scare along the way if his jumping proves to be a little rusty, while Brian's Jet and North Parade are a couple of others boasting claims.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest. CARDANO showed the benefit of a wind op when going in on the level last month and can capitalise on a good opening mark in this sphere. In-form veteran Balkalin is next on the list ahead of No Recollection, who should prove suited by dropping back in distance.

A few have claims but LEOPOLDS ROCK would have every chance if rediscovering his form from this time last year.

LTO Selection:

16:27 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Just a length and a half separated Starfighter (winner) and SEA OF CHARM (second) when they clashed over C&D 10 days ago but, with a 5lb pull, the latter is fancied to turn the form around. The five-year-old mare has held her from well since joining her current yard and appeals with Christian Howarth retaining the ride. Waterloo Sunset is unexposed at the trip and is another to consider.

STARFIGHTER comfortably capitalised on a much-reduced mark when going in over C&D last time out so looks the way go despite taking a 5 lb rise. Sea Of Charm followed Mark Loughnane's 7-y-o home that day and can again claim second spot ahead of Hashtagmetoo and Waterloo Sunset.

The suggestion is HASHTAGMETOO, who was a shade unlucky here last time, when travelling like a serious player.

LTO Selection:

16:32 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The consistent MONHAMMER is a specialist at this intermediate trip and, as a previous C&D winner, he ticks the right boxes given his proven versatility with regard to the ground. David Allan also knows how to get a good tune out of the selection and he could be the one to beat today. Alpine Sierra and First Greyed are a couple of others with respectable course form, while Purple Martini still has relatively low mileage and can figure off just 2lb above his last winning mark.

ALPINE SIERRA has become well treated and his last two runs have indicated that he's back in reasonable form, so he's worth chancing in an open-looking race. Global Humor is a danger having shaped well over C&D last time and Darbucks is likely to be involved again.

Off a handy mark, ALPINE SIERRA may prove the answer back in this grade. Purple Martini is second choice.

16:40 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HEROSS DU SEUIL bounced back to form with a decisive victory at Uttoxeter a couple of weeks ago and he clearly sets the standard, despite a 7lb rise for that success. Redbridge Rambler has shown some promise in maiden events and could take a big step forward now switched to handicap company, while Dom Perry and Could Be Trouble should not be underestimated on their return to action.

HEROSS DU SEUIL bounced back to capitalise on a lenient mark at Uttoxeter and has plenty of handicapping scope based on past efforts, so he's preferred to the lightly-raced Dom Perry, who could return to form after a break. Throne Hall is another one to consider.

It might be worth chancing the fitness of 2m course winner DOM PERRY, who is quite well handicapped on his seasonal debut

LTO Selection:

16:45 Galway Handicap Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

John Ryan is certainly not letting THE LITTLE YANK rest on his laurels but the eight-year-old takes his racing well and might get a turn here. After a couple of creditable spins over hurdles at Listowel, the Westerner gelding ran close to his mark in a conditions chase at Sligo last week and earlier in the summer had Pats Choice back in fourth when runner-up in a valuable handicap at Killarney. Pats Choice had previously been a fortunate winner at Wexford when left in front by a last-fence faller who was clear but his course-and-distance third at the festival in August was a decent effort. Take All had been off eleven weeks before running out of steam at Listowel and this drop in trip will suit but 2m2f looks too sharp for Grand National sixth Born By The Sea.

Having run well from out of the handicap at this course a couple of months ago, PATS CHOICE is fancied to capitalise on this better opportunity. The Little Yank and Battle of Mirbat arrive in form and are regarded as serious dangers.

A tight handicap. BORN BY THE SEA has a good bit of class about him and this is probably his best opening for a while.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Sedgefield NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Irish raider HYPERSONIC MISSILE appeals most after a commendable second to one of Willie Mullins' powerful string in a Sligo bumper in August. Tommy Time, who won a similar race in Ireland for his previous yard in April, is feared most after a respectable effort under a penalty on debut for new connections at Newcastle. Debutants Milochello and Pictou Lodge are others to note.

TOMMY TIME was a bit underwhelming on his stable debut but the form of his win prior to that is comfortably the best on offer, so he's worth another chance. Pictou Lodge's pedigree catches the eye and he's likely to feature along with Hypersonic Missile.

The standout form contenders are HYPERSONIC MISSILE and Tommy Time. The selection bumped into a promising one last time.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having placed in three deeper races since he scored on his nursery debut at Bath, PINPOINT is well fancied now dropping in trip. Richard Hannon's colt faded into third in the final furlong over 7f at Kempton, but went close there and at Windsor on his two outings prior. Amroon made a pleasing beginning to his handicap career when runner-up at Southwell, while Lady Bouquet has picked up minor money twice at Musselburgh and could do so again.

AMROON ran well on his first go in a nursery last week and can open his account if building on that. Dadas Boy and Lady Bouquet are feared.

Amroon is high on the list but PINPOINT is taken to defy top weight back at 5f.

LTO Selection:

17:07 Ayr Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The three-year-olds Sacred Falls and Mereside Diva command respect given they're probably not done improving yet, while Impressor arrives in excellent nick and Cold Stare wasn't winning out of turn here over 7f last time. He had Jordan Electrics (third) behind when finishing a close-up second in the Bronze Cup, but this could be all about BLACK FRIDAY. He is versatile in regards to trip and has won four times at this track, three of which have come over this trip.

COLD STARE has been in good order for a while and has only gone up 2 lb for his recent success over 7f here, so he's worth a chance to go in again. Most of the others can have a case made for them but Jordan Electrics appeals as the chief threat.

David O'Meara's COLD STARE deserved his return to winning ways last time over 7f. He has good form over C&D.

LTO Selection:

17:15 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ELHAM VALLEY had plenty in hand when winning a selling handicap at Stratford last month and could well be up making a winning start for the John Cornwall yard. In truth, this doesn't appear to be a much tougher assignment for the six-year-old and there is a lot to like about his chances here. Feel The Pinch is respected off the same mark as when he won at Bangor in June, while Sergeant Wilson and Polyphonic are also shortlist material.

SERGEANT WILSON is undoubtedly a quirky customer, but he looked the likely winner for much of the race only to be reeled in on the line in a Doncaster handicap in March and makes plenty of appeal on his return with his yard amongst the winners. Polyphonic is a consistent sort who could take his form up to a new level having joined the upwardly-mobile stable of James Owen, with Ithaka another to keep a close eye on in the betting.

The most interesting runner is POLYPHONIC, who is on a workable mark and has joined a burgeoning new stable.

DEE CAPO has been strong in the market on both outings and showed plenty of promise when sixth in a valuable sales bumper at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting. Gordon Elliott's charge was a disappointing fifth at Navan after a five month layoff but should be sharper for the outing and deserves another chance. Sea The Stars gelding Sattam made the running when second to an Elliott-trained newcomer at Leopardstown in March and the winner landed a Listed bumper at Limerick on his next outing. Threesheetstothwind was beaten a long way when fifth at Bellewstown and needs to leave that debut effort a long way behind. It's interesting to see Patrick Mullins on board Jeu Du Pic who cost 100,000 Euros at the Derby Sale and is from a useful French family.

JEU DE PIC is out of a French bumper winner and is the subject of a notable jockey booking, so he might be able to open his account at the first attempt. Sattam and Dee Capo have both achieved a fair level of form, so they should also be on the premises.

A weak bumper. DEE CAPO and Sattam bring the strongest form and the Elliott contender has the benefit of a recent run.

Officially the highest rated of these, DELLA has an obvious chance on these terms and is fancied to make a winning return to this circuit. Unraced as a juvenile, Andrew Balding's filly has improved with each run since she was belatedly introduced in a novice here in March, and the booking of Oisin Murphy is a bonus. Make Clear found only an 80-rated rival too good last time and enters calculations, while Candy Eye and Keep It Hush are others to consider.

DELLA is the clear form pick and the one to beat. Make Clear is next best on form, ahead of Candy Eye.

Della won't be found many better openings than this, but CANDY EYE has shown promise in her two starts and could progress further.

LTO Selection:

17:37 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 15f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Michael's Pledge has been threatening to score and it would be no surprise to see him finally get off the mark here, but he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to AIGHEAR. Despite some good efforts in defeat this summer, Jim Goldie's mare returns off a 1lb lower mark than when she won this race 12 months ago and she should relish the step back up in trip. Cantalupo Bella separated a couple of subsequent winners when second over 2m at Newbury last time and is another to note.

MICHAEL'S PLEDGE has been in good order for a while and can open his account. Cantalupo Bella and Clansman also arrive on the back of solid efforts and should be on the premises.

The only obvious negative for CANTALUPO BELLA is an absence of two months. She was clear of the rest behind an improver last time.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HAVEYOUGOTMYMONEY looked to have been revitalised by a wind operation and first-time cheekpieces when a close second over an extended 2m7f at Hexham last month. With the headgear retained, the five-year-old could make amends and go one better here. Royal Max is an interesting contender on his debut for new connections, while others to consider include Blazing Court and Catuaba.

HAVEYOUGOTMYMONEY found only one too good again last time and is worth chancing to go one better for all that this looks quite competitive. The unexposed Catuaba is a big danger if he gets his own way in front and Let It Shine can't be ruled out.

He fell when last seen in May but CATUABA drew nicely clear of the others with a progressive rival when scoring on his handicap debut.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PORT ERIN was beaten in his hat-trick bid over 7f at Kempton last time but that third-placed finish was still encouraging and it would be no surprise to see him score off the same mark here. Nikki's Girl is an obvious threat following her win over C&D last time, while the in-form Ciotog and Francesi are others with valid form claims.

NIKKI'S GIRL ran out the decisive winner of a C&D handicap in August and, if resuming in a similar mood following a two-month break, she will take plenty of stopping. Though his recent form figures do not inspire confidence, Master of Combat is interesting back at this course off a reduced mark. He is just about second choice, with Venetian, who has also edged down to an attractive mark, and the hat-trick seeking Ciotog others to consider.

The vote goes to FRANCESI who has shown creditable form in better races than this on the AW. He looked to be on the way back last time.

LTO Selection:

18:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HE'S A GENTLEMAN has been running well in defeat of late and the four-year-old will not find many better opportunities than this to earn a second career victory. Southwold was a place behind the selection last time and he should not be underestimated in a race of this nature. The consistent Paternoster Square has become frustrating but he is likely to be in the mix once again.

It may pay to keep the faith with STAR PLAYER, who hasn't really progressed this season but he's now on a good mark, judged both on his 2-y-o exploits and his solid effort at Pontefract during the summer. This will be just his second run on the all-weather. Paternoster Square clearly has his limitations but there's certainly ability there and it could be that the first-time blinkers here will help him channel it more effectively. If so, he could emerge as the main threat ahead of Reputation.

An open handicap. PATERNOSTER SQUARE is worth chancing in the hope that blinkers can focus his mind.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SURPRISE PICTURE had plenty in hand when scoring over C&D eight days ago and he merits the utmost respect once again, despite carrying a 5lb penalty. Chalk Mountain was only beaten a neck when second at Kempton last time and is an obvious threat to the selection. Fools And Horses edges out Gannon Glory and The Cruising Lord to be the pick of the remainder.

GANNON GLORY landed a claimer over 6f here in August and, not for the first time, shaped as though this trip is worth exploring when staying on into fourth in a handicap back here (again at 6f) 10 days ago. He gets the nod ahead of Fools And Horses, who arrives here on the back of a couple of decent efforts on turf and she surely has a race in her off this sort of mark. Flatley is also considered and an on-song The Cruising Lord would be a threat, too.

Chalk Mountain can go well but DESTINED may be the answer now back down in trip.

(2) Murbih 8/1, C&D winner. Respectable third of 6 in handicap (4/1) at Catterick (5f, soft) 21 days ago. His turn is surely near and, even if this isn't the day he gets his head back in front, a bold show is anticipated.
Conditions fine and he comes here in good form; widest draw might scupper him though.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SPEED DIAL BAILEYS was a narrow second over C&D last time and a 3lb rise for that display may not be enough to prevent her from going one better. The main danger is All In The Hips, who wasn't disgraced when fifth here last month and she could improve for the application of a first-time visor, while Murbih is also of interest on his current mark.

The one who appeals most is EL TESORO, who shaped better than the bare result when returning from a break on debut for new connections at Southwell last month. He should be sharper now, plus he's been eased 3 lb and dropping back to the minimum trip looks a good move. Man On A Mission hasn't made much of an impact on turf the last twice but he boasts a solid all-weather record and is feared, along with Murbih, who has been knocking on the door of late. Birkenhead could also have a part to play.

Man On A Mission can fare better back on AW but the unexposed SPEED DIAL BAILEYS (nap) can furher enhance her C&D record.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CHAMBER CHOIR was always doing enough when victorious at Chelmsford last time, which made it two win from her last three starts. The daughter of Ardad could continue her upward curve to go in once again off a 4lb higher rating. Warminster wasn't beaten far into fourth at Salisbury last month and could have a say in a first-time visor. Of the remainder, My Delilah makes the most appeal.

MY DELILAH bounced back to form when third at Bath last time and can capitalise on a reduced mark to gain her second win of 2023. Chamber Choir rates a big threat on the back of her recent Chelmsford City success, with course-scorers Jack of Clubs and Unlimited Data in the mix for place purposes.

The progressive Chamber Choir can go well but JACK OF CLUBS has refound some sparkle of late and can gain a second C&D success.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MYSTERIOUS MAESTRO is off the same mark as his third over an extended 1m1f here last month and the three-year-old could be ready to shed his maiden tag. The main danger is El Royale, who has put in some solid efforts recently and can be competitive off this mark, while Polar Rock warrants a market check on her handicap bow under Luke Morris.

MYSTERIOUS MAESTRO came home a very good third to Chinese Whisperer here last week and can turn the table on 5 lb better terms this time. Harriet Bethell's 6-y-o still rates the chief threat, although course-winner He's Our Star and in-form maiden El Royale also need factoring into this open handicap.
