Castle In The Sand sets the standard with a rating of 85 and it's hard not to see him involved in the finish, while Show Biz Kid could also get competitive.

BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD has to be taken very seriously on her hurdling debut. Gordon Elliott's charge was a decisive winner of two bumpers including when last seen in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse in April. She is a half-sister to the ill-fated Mighty Potter who scored on hurdle debut before winning at Grade 1 level, so Brighterdaysahead has plenty of upside. Rockstown Girl has decent bumper form, but was unable to reel in the winner of a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle at the start of the month. There should be more to come from her in this discipline, though. Roccos Inspiration will welcome all the forecast rain and it is worth noting that she has been placed in six maiden hurdles. River Tara and Gone For Tea have the ability to get in the mix, but wouldn't want the ground to get testing.

BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD makes loads of appeal on paper and looked a good prospect herself when making it 2-2 in bumpers back in the spring. Very much the type to make her mark over hurdles, she's fancied to make her presence felt for her powerful yard. Rockstown Girl, River Tara and Gone For Tea all rate likely improvers and can give the selection most to do, in that order.

15:00 Carlisle Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Land Genie has to be of interest after winning his sole bumper at Huntingdon in April and he is certainly one to watch here on his hurdling bow. That said, it might be worth giving SUPREMELY WEST another chance. The winner of three bumpers, he was sent off odds-on for his hurdling bow at Warwick when failing to jump with any fluency before finishing second, but he is sure to have been well-schooled since and may do better now. Titan Discovery and Fizzle Rock are others to watch in a race that could be full of future winners.

The vote goes to Irish-raider FIZZLE ROCK, who proved that her Sligo maiden success was no flash in the pan when finishing third in an 11-runner mares' handicap at Listowel last month. Dropping back in trip on this stiff track will, if anything, be in her favour and she will take some pegging back. Bumper-winner Land Genie is of strong interest now switched to hurdles and is feared most ahead of Supremely West and Titan Discovery.

The Irish mare Fizzle Rock has won in this sphere but could be vulnerable to Supremely West and LAND GENIE.

LTO Selection:

15:10 Wincanton Handicap Chase (Class 3) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Mr Mafia won this in 2021 and races off 5lb lower here after tailing off at Fontwell, but he needs to get back to top form to challenge now. My Silver Lining won her only start here in February and was three-quarters of a length ahead of JUNIPER when they met at Cheltenham in April. However, she meets her old adversary on 1lb worse terms here and this flatter track may see those positions reversed. She has her first run for the in-form Anthony Honeyball yard here and may come out on top on this occasion.

WAKE UP EARLY has done very well since joining this yard and his latest third at Fakenham in May was arguably his best run yet. He remains of interest and can make a winning return. There wasn't much between My Silver Lining and Juniper when first and second at Cheltenham in May and they are feared most.

A chance is taken on STRIKING A POSE, who has come down the weights for a reason but the signs were more encouraging last time.

15:20 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Trainer Gay Kelleway loves a winner here and Habanero Star, third on her last two starts over C&D and a winner off this mark as recently as March, is hard to ignore. She can go well but may have to give way to CHAGALL on this occasion. A headstrong sort who can pull too hard, the booking of Tom Marquand catches the eye and, if he can settle him early on, he could come out on top. He's Our Star is another to consider.

A few with chances but GILBERT rates just the pick of the weights so is taken to edge out in-form duo Chagall and Habanero Star who can chase home Adam West's 4-y-o in that order. Local Bay completes the shortlist.

Back down in trip on his first run since wind surgery, GILBERT may well record a second course win. Habanero Star is second choice.

15:25 Thurles Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STAR OFFICIAL has shown enough since switching his attention to hurdling to suggest he can gain a breakthrough success. A winner on the flat at Killarney around this time last year, the five-year-old has caught the eye on a few occasions since going jumping. Having finished runner-up at Tramore on his most recent start, the Dick Donohoe-trained gelding can go one place better. On My Bike has been somewhat unpredictable since going handicapping but the Gavin Cromwell-trained five-year-old would be a danger on the best of his recent form. He takes a significant step back down in trip here so that could unlock further improvement. Be My Hero went very close at Bellewstown on his penultimate start before running below par last time. A reproduction of that earlier run would probably be good enough here.

This looks trappy but STAR OFFICIAL found it easier dropped in grade when second of 10 in a Tramore handicap 7 days ago, and a repeat from the same mark gives him good claims once more. Be My Hero and Romella are others to consider, with Cullenwaine another not out of things.

15:35 Carlisle Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Court Dreaming won this last year when landing the odds for favourite backers and races off the same mark. Although he has raced three times without success since, they have all been over hurdles and the return to fences might see him in a better light. However, WASDELL DUNDALK is hard to oppose after landing his hat-trick easily at Perth last month, with an added 6lb unlikely to stop a follow up victory. Guetapan Collonges, Ned Tanner and East Street could all have a say on their return to action.

GUETAPAN COLLONGES showed improved form last season, scoring in handicaps at Warwick and Uttoxeter, and he can make a winning return for the second successive campaign having been given a chance by the handicapper. There could still be more to come from Your Own Story as a stayer and he heads the list of dangers, ahead of Wasdell Dundalk.

The resurgent WASDELL DUNDALK remains on a good mark on his old form and is taken to make it four wins in a row.

Kingston Sunflower arrives after winning her last three starts in novice hurdles, but she hasn't been seen since October 2022 and this looks a big ask after close to a year off. Multiple course winner Stormin Crossgales and the race-fit John Betjeman are both respected, but INCA DE LAFAYETTE looks potentially well-handicapped. A beaten favourite at Taunton off 2lb higher in April, he has had a wind operation since and if that brings improvement, as it often does for many Paul Nicholls horses, then the bottom-weight may come home in front.

This can go to INCA DE LAFAYETTE, who has gone well fresh before and reappears on a decent mark. John Betjeman and Hiconic can also make their presence felt.

This is open. INCA DE LAFAYETTE did okay on occasions last season and perhaps some wind surgery can enable him to find some consistency

15:55 Brighton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Gary Moore has won this twice since 2018 and, if Decisive Call can repeat his September C&D second, he won't be far away at the finish. CHINTHURST looks the likelier winner after going down by a neck here last time out, which saw him raised 2lb by the handicapper. However, he races off his old mark here which has to give him a great chance. Sun Festival is another for the shortlist.

CHINTHURST was clear of the remainder when runner-up here last week and can open his account. Sun Festival and Send In The Clouds look the likeliest dangers.

Provided he confirms the form of last week's C&D effort, CHINTHURST (nap) has a leading chance. Silver Bubble is second choice.

LTO Selection:

16:00 Thurles Conditions Hurdle 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BEACON EDGE, a horse that finished fourth in a Stayers Hurdle just a couple of years ago, remains very much a force at this level. A former Grade 1 winner over fences, the nine-year-old makes his first start for trainer Gordon Elliott here. Last seen when finishing sixth under a big weight in a graded hurdle at the Punchestown festival, the Doyen gelding can make a winning reappearance. HMS Seahorse remains a horse with scope for further improvement over flights this season. Paul Nolan's five-year-old has a leading chance at these weights once taking his jockeys claim into account. Aspire Tower has a long absence to overcome but the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding would take beating if anywhere near ready for this assignment.

BEACON EDGE holds the edge on form and is taken to make a winning start for Gordon Elliott after a lay-off at the chief expense of Willie Mullins's in-form veteran Cash Back. HMS Seahorse also can't be ruled out back in this sphere along with Gowran runner-up Walking On Glass.

LTO Selection:

16:10 Carlisle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Burrows Hall deserves a second look as a C&D winner in April, but he is 4lb higher in the handicap now and the Sue Smith stable are yet to hit top gear. Vocal Duke could bounce back if the drop in class and first-time cheekpieces bring out the best in him, but KILBRAINY could be the one. An easy winner at Kelso over further on his return, he may get a fast run race to allow his stamina to kick in and as the only recent winner here, a good run seems on the cards.

KILBRAINY can race off the same mark as when an easy recent winner of a conditional jockeys' handicap at Kelso so is hard to oppose. Handicap-debutant Libertty Flame has better days ahead of him and appeals as the one to chase home Sandy Thomson's well-treated rival ahead of Ring of Beara and Milajess.

It is difficult to look beyond the recent Kelso scorer KILBRAINY (nap), who is due an 8lb rise but can compete here without a penalty.

LTO Selection:

16:20 Wincanton Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STILETTO has stepped forward since being upped in trip on his last couple of starts and went close to getting off the mark in this sphere when a neck second in a conditional riders' event at Fontwell earlier in the month. With Harry Kimber able to use his 3lb claim on this occasion, the five-year-old is expected to get off the mark. West Orchard is likely to appreciate conditions and is respected, along with the hat-trick-seeking Top Cloud, who carries a 7lb penalty for scoring at Hereford on Tuesday.

TOP CLOUD has returned a much improved performer for new trainer Robbie Llewellyn and can complete a hat-trick inside 10 days. Stiletto was well clear of the rest when narrowly denied at Fontwell recently and can give the selection most to do ahead of Ben Lilly.

Top Cloud has obvious claims in his bid for a quick hat-trick but a chance is taken on the returning WEST ORCHARD.

LTO Selection:

16:30 Brighton Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

OPTIVA STAR hadn't got his head in front until his first appearance here three starts ago and Richard Hannon's gelding now bids to maintain his unbeaten record at this venue. The step up to a mile last time appeared to yield further improvement and a fourth win on the bounce may well be on the cards. Magic Memories is entitled to build on his handicap bow when fourth at Windsor in August, while Poetic Force appeals most of the remainder.

OPTIVA STAR is on a roll and fancied to defy a further 4 lb rise in the weights and complete his four-timer. In-form course scorer Macs Dilemma rates a big threat though, with the lightly-raced Magic Memories and handily-weighted Shoot To Kill also well in the mix in this open handicap.

Having come first and second over C&D at the start of September, OPTIVA STAR and Poetic Force can come to the fore again.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

POUR THE WINE can register a first career success having run a big race when third at Killarney last time. Peter Fahey's mare was having just her fourth start in handicap company, when beaten a length by a horse who had plenty in hand of the assessor. Gaining in experience with every run, the likeable seven-year-old holds leading claims under Eamonn Fitzgerald. Walk Out, who was just a place behind in fourth at the County Kerry track, should again be involved. The Walk In The Park mare is also awaiting her first success but has been placed on a few occasions. Lizrona, a winner here over fences, has to be a contender now that she reverts to hurdling off an 11lb lower mark. She also arrives here in form after a runner-up finish at Roscommon last month.

WALK OUT can race off the same mark as when a very good Killarney fourth so edges the vote in this competitive handicap. Course-winner No Fussing could emerge as the chief threat to John & Thomas Kiely's handily-weighted rival ahead of Goodie Girl, Pour The Wine and Lizrona.

16:45 Carlisle Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Massini Man bolted up by 11 lengths when last seen in January at Musselburgh, but that was over 3m, so this represents a big drop in distance, which opens the door for NETYWELL. The six-year-old was only denied by a neck over C&D in March and he was only raised 1lb for that effort, so he could take full advantage of this drop in class. Missed Tee is also of interest on her chase debut after undergoing wind surgery since last seen.

MASSINI MAN proved a different proposition after joining Sandy Thomson last season and, despite now being 8 lb higher than for his final win last term, he's fancied to enhance his positive record fresh. Missed Tee won 2 of her 4 starts over hurdles and is highly respected on chase debut, whilst Netywell was in good form in the spring and is also considered on his return.

Point winner MISSED TEE won two of her four hurdle starts last season and is taken to make a winning chase debut.

16:52 Wincanton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DOCTOR FOLEY appeared to have a valid excuse for running poorly at Newton Abbot when turned out under a penalty after scoring at Fontwell the week before. The six-year-old had progressed well over the larger obstacles prior to that display and Anthony Honeyball's gelding is likely to have more to offer after a break. Bensini runs off the same mark as his recent second at Southwell, while the consistent Janeslittlevoice isn't one to discount.

Anthony Honeyball's DOCTOR FOLEY saw his winning run ended when fifth at Newton Abbot but he wasn't seen to best effect there and can quickly resume winning ways at the chief expense of Southwell runner-up Bensini. Janeslittlevoice is another in-form chaser who can have a say.

The unexposed DOCTOR FOLEY was probably in need of a break when disappointing last time and he returns in a winnable race.

17:00 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WHIP CRACKER sets a decent standard based on his debut performance when runner-up at Newmarket and that experience ought to stand him in good stead in his attempt to go one better. Silvaplana comes from an excellent family, with her dam a full-sister to Galiway, who has had a solid beginning to life as a stallion, and she warrants a considerable amount of respect on her first start, with 75,000gns purchase Wide Margin and Deep Havana also noted.

Having shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Newmarket, WHIP CRACKER looks the way to go. The market should be revealing where newcomers Wide Margin and Silvaplana are concerned, with the fomer marginally preferred for forecast purposes.

Wide Margin and Silvaplana need a market check but WHIP CRACKER is fancied to confirm the promise of his Newmarket debut.

FACT OR FABLE has been mostly running with credit over the past couple of months and the six-year-old, who wasn't quite at his best at Bath last time, is capable of being very competitive off this mark, especially following a neck defeat at Chepstow in August. Done Decision is expected to be in the mix after his latest runner-up effort at Chelmsford. Roscioli and Mumayaz are others worth considering.

DONE DECISION was strong at the finish when second at Chelmsford a week ago and, if the race doesn't come too soon, he could go one better at the possible expense of Mumayaz. Roscioli is also worthy of consideration.

Turned out quickly, DONE DECISION has a good chance of opening his account. Bonkersinabundance is second choice.

17:10 Thurles NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

With those that have already raced appearing somewhat vulnerable, it could pay to take a chance on a debutant. The Willie Mullins-trained DOONWEST, a half-brother to two winners on the flat, is an obvious starting point. The six-year-old should stay this trip on breeding, so if doing so, he could have too much of a finishing kick for more stoutly bred opposition. The Enabler, a point-to-point runner-up at Curraghmore in April has to be considered on his racecourse debut. Having since been sold and sent to Gordon Elliott, the four-year-old is completely unexposed. Fad Eadrainn looks best of those with previous racecourse experience. Third on debut at Tipperary in May, the Patrick Foley-trained gelding filled the same position in a stronger race at Punchestown the following month.

THE ENABLER cost plenty after winning a point and, having joined a top yard, he's fancied to make a successful Rules debut for all that Doonwest makes plenty of appeal on pedigree. Can't Resist is the clear pick of those with bumper experience.

17:20 Carlisle NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Cracking Rhapsody accounted for his nearest rival by just over a length on his second start under Rules at Perth and he is likely to put in a bold display in the attempt to carry a 7lb penalty to victory. However, preference is for GET A SUPERSTAR, who finished fourth at Tipperary in May before changing hands for 27,000 pounds, and the son of Getaway could make a winning start for the Dr Richard Newland stable. Any market confidence behind Rula Bula on her first outing would also be of interest.

TOMMYS LAW was runner-up on both starts between the flags and represents a stable that has enjoyed a fruitful start to the campaign, so he's preferred to fellow point recruit Iorangi de L'Isle, who should be ready to go. Cracking Rhapsody is the best of those with bumper experience.

Point winner IORANGI DE L'ISLE is taken to make a winning start for Donald McCain, with Tommys Law feared most.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Bluebells Boy has to be high on the shortlist following his second here over a furlong shorter last week. That said, the four-year-old has been running well enough in recent months without getting his head in front and a chance is taken on LAST DATE instead. He produced his best effort for a while when third at this course last month and the six-year-old gets the vote to gain a fourth career victory. Nemorum also boasts claims.

With his yard among the winners of late, HIGHER LAW should be worth chancing in an open-looking race. He wasn't beaten far when fifth on debut for Kevin Frost at Doncaster in June and, though well below that level since, the handicapper has given him a chance. Bluebells Boy is an obvious threat on the back of a solid effort here last week, while Golden Moon and Last Date are others to consider.

In an unconvincing field, a chance is taken on MY SAND BOY building on the bit of encouragement he's given lately.

LTO Selection:

17:40 Brighton Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

On Edge carries a 5lb penalty in his search for a fourth victory on the bounce and the drop back in trip from his last couple of efforts at Salisbury and Windsor is unlikely to be an inconvenience. However, he may have to play second fiddle to recent C&D winner BATCHELOR BOY, who returned to form here recently and is capable of backing that performance up. Fifty Year Storm has been performing consistently well of late and may have more to offer in first-time cheekpieces.

ON EDGE had something in hand when completing the hat-trick at Windsor earlier this month and can extend his winning run. Recent C&D winner Batchelor Boy is feared most whilst Fifty Year Storm is also of interest..

The suggestion is PUFFABLE, who may take advantage of a handy mark with Tom Marquand booked. Second choice is Fifty Year Storm.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MAID IN KENTUCKY wasn't disgraced on her first run since June when beaten six lengths into seventh at Kempton earlier in the month. The application of cheekpieces for the first time, along with a 2lb drop from the handicapper, may provide her with the chance to get back to winning ways. Gulmarg has been knocking on the door recently and is likely to go well, along with Riot, who caught the eye here on Saturday.

GULMARG has been knocking on the door in stronger handicaps than this pretty much all year and is presented with a golden opportunity to get back on the scoresheet. Riot is now 1 lb lower than for his latest success at Doncaster during the summer and he rates the main danger. Perhaps the first-time visor will help Get Stuck In to rediscover some form and, if so, he will also be a threat.

This looks a good opportunity for RIOT (nap) to record another C&D success having run so well to finish third back here on Saturday.

Adace is now 6lb higher than her Windsor triumph in August, but rates as a more solid proposition than most, while Cap D'Antibes warrants respect as a dual C&D winner.

MITIGATOR may be worth siding with back dow in trip here on the back of a solid effort st Kempton. He gets the nod ahead of Cap d'Antibes, while Mysterious Maestro is also high on the shortlist.

The daughter of Acclamation is feared most ahead of Cuban Breeze and Batal Dubai.

Cases can be made for several of these and BATAL DUBAI is the suggestion. Successful af Newcastle in July, he has performed with cedit here and at Wolverhampton the last twice, leaving the impression that his turn is again near. Onemorenomore followed his Doncaster breakthrough success with an equally good effort when going close at Pontefract recently, and he is next on the list ahead of Cuban Breeze.

The vote goes to CUBAN BREEZE who very nearly got up to beat a bang-in-form rival over C&D a week ago and races off the same mark.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The three last-time-out winners may dominate proceedings, with TRADESMAN shading the vote. The gelded son of Mastercraftsman has won on his last two appearances at this venue and triumphed with enough in hand here a fortnight ago to suggest that he can defy a 4lb rise in the ratings. Grand Duchess Olga recorded a C&D victory last month and she is likely to be in the mix off only 1lb higher, with the returning Ray's The One next best.

TRADESMAN made it two wins at this course from his last 3 starts when scoring cosily here a fortnight ago and he is taken to add to his tally. The 4-y-o can see off the challenge of Grand Duchess Olga, who opened her account at this C&D on her latest outing, while Louaizeh could still have more to offer and also merits consideration.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

UNIVERSAL GRACE scored cheekily over C&D last month and, considering she was rated as high as 62 last autumn, a 3lb higher mark might be nowhere near enough to prevent her following up. David Probert retaining the ride is another positive and the filly is taken to reverse recent Wolverhampton form with Suanni. Rewilding and Tilsworth Ony Ta are others to consider.

KATAR seemed to benefit from a return to AW when runner-up at this course a fortnight ago and he's worth a chance to finally break his maiden tag from a handy mark. Recent C&D winner Universal Grace looks a major threat and Tilsworth Ony Ta isn't without hope.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The booking of Oisin Murphy for Marmara Star catches the eye and, with her match-fitness topped up after a respectable fourth-placed finish at Wolverhampton 10 days ago, a big run is expected. Meadram also rates as a player off an attractive mark. However, it is hard to get away from the hat-trick seeking LUNAR SPACE, who is back up in trip and 2lb well-in under a penalty for Saturday's 1m success here.

LUNAR SPACE is turned out again quickly in pursuit of the hat-trick and the Osborne's thriving gelding is tricky to oppose under a penalty. Swing To The Stars arrives in decent heart and should have gone closer over C&D last week, so appeals as the biggest threat, with Meadram and Marmara Star completing the shortlist.
