1st (6) (125/1 -150%)Just An Artist |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Just An Artist 125/1, Pulled up in a 4yo hurdle at Hexham last time and has yet to show much under rules. Not disgraced on bumper debut but pulled up when 33-1 for subsequent junior hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/8 +66%)Chanonry Point |
15/8(+66%) | (2) Chanonry Point 15/8, Ran below form under a penalty when 22l third in a bumper at Kelso last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. A 2m bumper winner who has more to offer over hurdles, and her point win suggests she'll stay further. Point/bumper winner; had wind op during summer; good prospect for novice hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/8 +6%)Centurion's Sister |
15/8(+6%) | (1) Centurion's Sister 15/8, Produced a promising hurdle debut when third, beaten 9l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Market Rasen on her latest start. Trainer in good form. Progressive in bumpers over 2m and should remain competitive over hurdles. Shaped well when third on recent hurdling debut; has a significant role to play here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 -118%)Hunters Spring |
6/1(-118%) | (5) Hunters Spring 6/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 2l, in a bumper over 2m1f at Newcastle last time. Effective at 2m and consistent in bumpers. Bumper winner; has a future over jumps but others in this field look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/1 -175%)Tropical Twist |
11/1(-175%) | (9) Tropical Twist 11/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 16l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Downpatrick last time. Effective over 2m on soft ground and has been in good form in Ireland. Ran well for a long way when fourth of 16 at Downpatrick this month; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (9/1 -20%)Rose's Dart |
9/1(-20%) | (7) Rose's Dart 9/1, Outpaced and jumped poorly but showed improvement from debut when third, beaten 3l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Wetherby last time. Usually held up. Effective around 2½m and unlikely to want shorter, with promise shown both runs. Sound effort when third at Doncaster (2m3f) in March but needs another step forward here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (5/1 +77%)Tigress Lilly |
5/1(+77%) | (8) Tigress Lilly 5/1, Never put into the race but showed minor promise on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle here last time. Had been in good form prior and can do better when ridden more positively. Displayed minor promise in both bumpers and on hurdling debut but needs to improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (300/1 -650%)Solway Staree |
300/1(-650%) | (3) Solway Staree 300/1, Stopped quickly when well beaten in a handicap hurdle here last time and remains out of form over hurdles. Well beaten off lowly handicap mark over C&D last month and now 0-11 over hurdles. |

Bumper winner HUNTERS SPRING is held in high regard by her connections and appears to be the most solid option on her hurdling debut after her second at Newcastle in March. Stable companion Chanonry Point might follow her home as the point-to-point/bumper scorer could improve sporting a first-time tongue-tie. Of the others, keep a close eye on Market Rasen third Centurion's Sister.

This can go to TROPICAL TWIST who arguably ran better than the bare form suggests when fourth at Downpatrick recently.

1st (4) (3/1 +25%)Start Again |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Start Again 3/1, Outpaced and disappointing on handicap debut when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time; effective from 2m to 2½m. Disappointed on handicap debut last time but positives to take from previous efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/4 +38%)Oakley's Way |
5/4(+38%) | (2) Oakley's Way 5/4, Made mistakes and had too much to do when fourth, beaten 20l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Ludlow on debut; returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m and may stay further; likely improver. Ran well in the two bumpers (heavy/good) he completed; ran okay on his hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/4 +20%)Oakley |
6/4(+20%) | (3) Oakley 6/4, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap over 10f at Ffos Las latest; effective over 2m on good ground and showed promise in Irish handicaps. Heavy ground an excuse for recent Flat run; was placed over hurdles in Ireland. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/1 +78%)Emaculate Soldier |
11/1(+78%) | (1) Emaculate Soldier 11/1, Made mistakes and ran green on debut when well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot; multiple all-weather winner over middle to staying trips but needs to prove effectiveness on turf over hurdles. well held in two runs for current one, on the Flat and on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (16/1 -300%)Our Super Six |
16/1(-300%) | (5) Our Super Six 16/1, Improved to finish third, beaten 8l, in a bumper over 2m2f at Plumpton last time; trainer in form and has shown minor promise in bumpers over 2m on good ground. Son of Frankel who never raced for Godolphin and his bumper form lacked substance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (6) (40/1 +60%)The Padster |
40/1(+60%) | (6) The Padster 40/1, Made mistakes and never threatened when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time; not given a hard time; suited by a sound surface and may stay a bit further than 2m. Tailed off in a 1m4f AW novice and in a Stratford maiden hurdle in September. |

Our Super Six showed some promise when third in a Plumpton bumper last month and if the son of Frankel could have a big say on his hurdling bow. OAKLEY has some solid placed form in Ireland to call upon and a return to hurdles following a spin on the level at Ffos Las should see him in a far better light. Start Again is the suggestion for the minor placing on his better form.

An 11-month absence is not ideal but OAKLEY'S WAY didn't run too badly on hurdling debut and his bumper form was encouraging.

1st (5) (10/11 +60%)Scorpio Rising |
10/11(+60%) | (5) Scorpio Rising 10/11, Had too much to do but finished well on debut, third beaten 5½l in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective at around 2½m and handles soft ground. More improvement to come. Kept on well to snatch third on hurdle debut at Ffos Las; should have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/2 +22%)Sleedagh |
7/2(+22%) | (6) Sleedagh 7/2, Raced wide but showed promise when second, beaten 3l, in a 2m bumper here last time. Encouraging bumper form and point evidence suggests further than 2m will suit over hurdles. Made good start to rules career when second of 13 in course bumper in April; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 -60%)Jentobello |
4/1(-60%) | (3) Jentobello 4/1, Improved effort when just outbattled late, finishing second beaten a head in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time. A bumper winner who is progressing over hurdles at around 2½m. Went close at Kelso last month and ought to be right in the thick of things again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 -56%)The G Wizard |
28/1(-56%) | (7) The G Wizard 28/1, Improved when second, beaten 2½l, in a 3m maiden at Necarne last time. Absent for a very long spell since but effective at 3m in points and could make an impact under rules. Bought for £30,000 after finishing second in good-ground Irish point in May; rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (25/1 -178%)Whenthemusicstops |
25/1(-178%) | (9) Whenthemusicstops 25/1, Promising hurdle debut when second, beaten 3l, in a 2m5f maiden hurdle at Plumpton last time. Effective around 2½m and should improve a little with that experience behind him. Second of five on recent hurdling debut but the form looks very flimsy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (9/2 -13%)Keep Tabs On You |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Keep Tabs On You 9/2, Promising debut when third, beaten 8l, in a 2m bumper at Ayr. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Handles heavy ground and could improve for a trip beyond 2m over hurdles. Only third of five on bumper debut but improvement possible over hurdles; had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (250/1 -279%)Jack Dempsey |
250/1(-279%) | (2) Jack Dempsey 250/1, Below form when comfortably held in a bumper over 2m at Ayr last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and may stay a bit further over hurdles. Took modest second on bumper debut but well beaten on next two outings; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (50/1 +24%)Blue Indigo |
50/1(+24%) | (1) Blue Indigo 50/1, Made mistakes and ran green when fourth, beaten 27l, in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time. Trainer in form. Showed minor promise in points but needs to find more over hurdles. Ran well for a long way on recent hurdling debut but was well beaten in the end. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (100/1 -100%)The Happy Chapati |
100/1(-100%) | (8) The Happy Chapati 100/1, Outclassed and well beaten in a 2m2f bumper at Fontwell last time. Has been off for a very long time and needs to find plenty more to feature. Disappointing in three bumpers for Nicky Henderson; now hurdling after long absence. |

JENTOBELLO is proven on the going with bumper wins at Kelso and Market Rasen. He may be able to put his hurdling experience to good use and come home in front of Keep Tabs On You, who failed to land the odds when third on his Ayr debut. Fergal O'Brien's gelding has had wind surgery since and is respected, while Scorpio Rising would have finished much closer at Ffos Las barring a mistake at the last.

Preference is for SLEEDAGH, who kept on well for second in a course bumper on his rules debut in April and now moves up in trip.

1st (1) (7/5 +38%)Atticum |
7/5(+38%) | (1) Atticum 7/5, Overcame another sluggish start to leave debut form well behind when switching to turf, finishing second beaten 1/2l in a maiden at Nottingham last time. Effective at 5f and acts on good to soft; expected to progress further, especially once in nurseries. Significant improvement when closing in fast on newcomer at Nottingham (5f; 33-1); chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/4 -50%)Overbudget |
9/4(-50%) | (4) Overbudget 9/4, Showed good pace on debut, finishing a clear second to an easy winner when runner-up beaten 4l in a novice at Nottingham on her only start. Effective at 5f and acts on good to soft; should improve on that debut effort and is proven with some give in the ground. Posted solid debut at Nottingham (5f; 7-1); improvement is on the cards; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 +45%)Fermain |
11/4(+45%) | (3) Fermain 11/4, Appeared to know her job on debut, showing clear promise behind a useful winner when third beaten 4l in a novice over 6f at Chelmsford. The trainer is in form. Should improve on that debut third, though the drop to 5f raises a question. Acquitted herself positively when third on Chelmsford debut (6f; 11-1); switches to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (15/2 -88%)Tie Fighter |
15/2(-88%) | (2) Tie Fighter 15/2, Benefited from the drop to 5f when just denied in a bunched finish, finishing second beaten a short-head in a novice at Leicester last time. Most effective at 5f and acts on good to soft; running over the right trip but others may have greater scope for progress. Best effort (beaten short-head) in 5f Leicester novice (good) a fortnight ago; a possible. |

All the runners here have shown the potential to take a race, but FERMAIN looks the likeliest winner with the George Boughey horses in fine form. A once-raced daughter of Ardad, she was easy in the market on her Chelmsford debut before finishing a four-length third when appearing to learn plenty from the experience. Atticum was only beaten a half-length at Nottingham on his second start and may get the better promising debut second Overbudget here in an intriguing contest.

Nottingham form could hold sway with Atticum and OVERBUDGET running well there recently. Dylan Cunha's filly receives the vote.

1st (5) (13/2 -44%)Trojan Warrior |
13/2(-44%) | (5) Trojan Warrior 13/2, 11 Apr; Wootton Bassett colt; full-brother to One Of A Kind, fair at 7f; dam very smart at 7f at 2yo; top course trainer; wide draw; top trainer. Wootton Bassett colt is sole Ballydoyle runner so warrants major respect on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/4 +0%)Go Just Do It |
6/4(+0%) | (2) Go Just Do It 6/4, From a yard that won this last year. Finished 5 1/2l third in the Futurity Stakes (Group 2) over 7f here last time. Has a wide draw and returns from a short break; effective at 7f and acts on good ground. Debut form emphatically franked and should be winning soon; could be useful. Two Curragh runs over the summer make him leading player if handling softer conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (14/1 -40%)Expert Dancer |
14/1(-40%) | (9) Expert Dancer 14/1, Green but finished well on a promising debut when 4l fourth in a maiden at Naas. Effective at 6f with cut and should improve for the experience. Eyecatching recent Naas debut despite adversity; should improve enough to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +0%)Seoul Force |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Seoul Force 9/2, Ran to form when beaten 3l in a maiden over 7f here last time. Returns from a short break; effective at 7f and acts on soft and good ground. Debut form has been franked at Listed level and he should be up to winning a maiden. Bit to find with Go Just Do It on July run but shorter trip could suit; handles soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6/4 +67%)Armada De Lope |
6/4(+67%) | (6) Armada De Lope 6/4, Outpaced but finished well on debut when beaten 5 1/4l in a maiden here. Has a wide draw; acts with cut and may stay further than 6f in time. Should improve for that initial experience. Raced away from the pace when beaten C&D favourite last month; better for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (125/1 -25%)California Baby |
125/1(-25%) | (8) California Baby 125/1, Improved from debut, just tiring late when beaten 8l in a maiden over 7f at Dundalk last time. Effective at 6–7f on the all-weather but remains unproven on turf. Two recent Dundalk AW runs don't suggest she'll make an impact here on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (50/1 +0%)Ochtar Againn |
50/1(+0%) | (11) Ochtar Againn 50/1, 8 Mar; 16,000 euros Profitable filly; half-sister to Ceo Stealth Mode, very useful at 6f. Half-sister to a 2yo 6f winner; market best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (300/1 -275%)Cadreville |
300/1(-275%) | (1) Cadreville 300/1, Modest debut when well beaten in an auction race over 8f at Thurles on his only start. Has speed in his pedigree, and the drop from 1m may suit. Never sighted when well held on recent Thurles debut; likely to need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (300/1 -100%)Whats It All About |
300/1(-100%) | (12) Whats It All About 300/1, Failed to build on debut, finishing down the field in a maiden over 7f here last time. Bred to want further than 6f and looks one for handicaps later on. Soundly beaten both starts, easily passed over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (300/1 -100%)Brave Approach |
300/1(-100%) | (7) Brave Approach 300/1, Too green to show anything when well beaten in a maiden at Naas on her only start. Bred to want further than 6f and likely to need more time. Always behind after slow start on recent Naas debut; can only be watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (300/1 -50%)Nthea Sky |
300/1(-50%) | (10) Nthea Sky 300/1, Outpaced on a poor debut when well beaten in a maiden at Naas on her only start. Has all to prove. Behind throughout on recent Naas debut; can only be watched. |

GO JUST DO IT brings solid form to the table and may prove difficult to beat if handling this softer ground. The Kingman colt was beaten just over a length on debut in the 7f maiden won by New Zealand here in July and again shaped well on his only subsequent start when third behind Constitution River in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes. Seoul Force is proven on soft ground but already had the benefit of a run when a length and a half behind the selection in the aforementioned maiden. Michael's Well merits respect on his debut second at Naas, while Trojan Warrior represents Ballydoyle and is by Wootton Bassett out of a Fastnet Rock mare that was a Listed winner as a juvenile.

A strong-looking sprint maiden in which GO JUST DO IT is taken to confirm maiden form with Seoul River

1st (6) (10/1 +0%)Masonbrook Meadow |
10/1(+0%) | (6) Masonbrook Meadow 10/1, Continued in poor form when beaten 10l in a 12f handicap at Brighton last time. Effective at 2m on good ground but has shown no Flat form since 2024 and has plenty to prove on her return to hurdles. Longstanding maiden under both codes and recent Flat form doesn't offer much optimism. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/3 +26%)Guillaume |
10/3(+26%) | (4) Guillaume 10/3, Found little and was comfortably held in a strongly run handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Kelso last time, possibly not staying the trip. Suited by 2m; consistent but frustrating. Chase winner; maiden hurdler; running well prior to last time; has each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (4/1 +27%)Prairie Queen |
4/1(+27%) | (8) Prairie Queen 4/1, Raced a bit too freely and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Hereford last time. Effective at 2½m and suited by good ground, though her form has just tailed off recently. Behaved better at Hereford last week when beaten about 12l; must have some chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (3/1 -9%)Goodbyemick |
3/1(-9%) | (2) Goodbyemick 3/1, Ran to form in first-time cheekpieces when fourth, beaten 5l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Huntingdon last time. Blinkers on for the first time; effective at 2½m but inconsistent, though still early days. Only 5l away last time at Huntingdon when in first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (14/1 -40%)Chips And Rice |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Chips And Rice 14/1, Had every chance but ran below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time. Acts on any ground but has yet to fully convince with stamina for 2m. Fair Flat performer who ran okay in maiden hurdles during the summer before losing her way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 +45%)Man Oh Man |
11/1(+45%) | (3) Man Oh Man 11/1, Pulled up in a maiden over 3m at Ballindenisk last time and returns after a very lengthy absence. Effective at 2½m but showed little in Ireland and must prove ability remains. Limited hurdler in Ireland and has since pulled up in five points. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (11/4 0%)Offiah's Boy |
11/4(0%) | (5) Offiah's Boy 11/4, Won by 1/2l off 57 over 10f at Salisbury in August but ran below form when seventh, beaten 9l, off 59 last time. Effective from 8f to 11f and relishes fast ground; enjoyed a productive summer on the Flat and could improve over hurdles. Unexposed hurdler (handicap debut) and had a good Flat season this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (20/1 -11%)Mambo Beat |
20/1(-11%) | (7) Mambo Beat 20/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a 10f handicap at Ffos Las most recently. Effective at 2m but currently out of form. The odd piece of form over hurdles offers hope but current wellbeing is a big issue. |

Offiah's Boy has won four small races on the Flat since a distant fourth over hurdles at Taunton in April and if carrying that improvement forward he might surprise a few of these. GUILLAUME has run well off higher marks and might have been found a suitable opportunity for a first win over hurdles, despite a weakening fifth over further at Kelso in September. Goodbyemick could pounce if first-time blinkers have a positive effect.

Donald McCain's GUILLAUME has run a few good races this year and rates the safest option.

13/2(-44%) | (5) Nathan Wells 13/2, Ran to form and suited by a positive ride when landing a handicap by 3l off 92 here last time; handles different ground conditions and may have a bit more to offer now he has his head in front. Raised 5lb for winning a weak race here last time but has to be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (9/2 +68%)Tanking Along |

9/1(-100%) | (1) Platin Moon 9/1, Keen and made mistakes but benefited from a drop in class, running to form when second, beaten 11l in a 4yo hurdle at Kelso last time; has a bit to find. Took a big step forward when second of six in 2m Kelso novice hurdle in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (18/1 -125%)Vampire Slayer |
18/1(-125%) | (6) Vampire Slayer 18/1, Returned to form on his second start after a wind operation when second, beaten 4l in a handicap over 1m5f at Ayr latest; effective over 12/13f on the Flat and 2m over hurdles, acts on soft and good ground, though looks moderate over hurdles. Hurdling runs not devoid of promise and fair latest Flat effort soon after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 -14%)Gemini Man |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Gemini Man 4/1, Scored by 3 1/2l off 93 at Hexham on his penultimate start, then ran to form when second, beaten 5l off 98 last time; effective at 2m on good or good to soft ground and remains on a competitive mark. Won on the Flat and over hurdles this summer and a good run to be second over C&D latest. |

15/2(+0%) | (4) The Resdev Tyke 15/2, Ran to form when 8l third in a 4yo hurdle over 2m1f at Carlisle on his most recent outing; has a bit to find. Showed more second time out and brings an unexposed profile into handicaps. |

10th (7) (10/1 +17%)Game Beaaa |
10/1(+17%) | (7) Game Beaaa 10/1, Ran to form when beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time; effective at 2m though the handicapper may have caught up. Beaten 5l into fifth at Sedgefield two weeks ago and probably needs more here. |

|PU| (11) (13/2 +54%)Clan Chieftain |
13/2(+54%) | (11) Clan Chieftain 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time; in good form prior and wears a visor for the first time; suited by 14f+, acts on any ground, though boiling over remains a concern. Flat winner who is 0-8 over hurdles but hasn't been running badly; more new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 +27%)Wolfburg |
16/1(+27%) | (2) Wolfburg 16/1, Still green and probably needed the race when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle here on his latest start. Yet to deliver on promise of maiden win. Maiden winner in early 2024 but has since offered very little in handicaps. |

Platin Moon deserves a second glance after finishing second at Kelso when last seen. Gemini Man arrives in form after a win at Hexham and a second here last month, but he could have to settle for another place if NATHAN WELLS repeats his C&D win in late-September. He does have 5lb more for that success, but gets on well with Alan Doyle and they might follow up.

The 7yo GEMINI MAN might be the answer. The 5lb claim of William Maggs should come in handy.

5/6(+39%) | (9) Ottoman Empress 5/6, Runner-up, beaten 3/4l in a maiden over 7f at Newmarket on her only start. The trainer is in form, and while effective at 7f, she's bred for 8f+; her action suggests some cut will suit, and she could take a big step forward. 550,000gns yearling; promising debut second at Newmarket (7f; 15-8); sets the benchmark. |

From a top course trainer, bred for 8f+ and acts on good; a likely big improver going up in trip. Clear signs of inexperience when fifth of ten on Doncaster debut (7f; 10-1) six weeks ago. |

250/1(-213%) | (1) Capricorn Belle 250/1, Again offered little, hanging under pressure when beaten 8l in a novice over 7f at Southwell last time. Cheekpieces first time. Her action suggests slow turf may be a concern, and she looks up against it until handicapping at a modest level. Failed to shine in two AW starts (7f); faces a tough task switched to turf in cheekpieces. |

10th (3) (300/1 -100%)Dream Of Ithaca |
300/1(-100%) | (3) Dream Of Ithaca 300/1, Up in trip, she again failed to beat a rival when well beaten in a maiden at Nottingham last time. Bred to want 10f+, sound surfaces may suit best, but she has plenty to prove. Massive prices, failing to beat a single rival in two starts (7f-8.5f); look elsewhere. |

There is very little worthwhile form to go one here with the exception of Charlie Appleby's OTTOMAN EMPRESS, whose three-quarter length debut second at Newmarket stands out. Sent off at the head of the market last month, she had to race at the rear after a wayward start and did well in the circumstances. She should be up to going one better here, with Newbury fifth Darkwing and newcomer Music Academy ones to watch for future races.

A fascinating fillies' maiden. The well-related OTTOMAN EMPRESS looked a winner-in-waiting when chasing home Golden Orbit at Newmarket.

28/1(-27%) | (17) Polar Bear 28/1, Needed the run when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 5f at Navan last time. Blinkers on for the first time. Effective at 5–7f, best at 5f, suited by give in the ground but currently out of form. Entitled to come on for last month's comeback run and blinkers replace cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (14/1 -56%)Laugh A Minute |
14/1(-56%) | (5) Laugh A Minute 14/1, A bit below form when fourth, beaten 5l in a handicap here last time. Top jockey back on board. A veteran effective at 5–6f who acts on soft and good ground; not the force of old but capable off this mark and best at the Curragh. Way off his prime but encouraging signs in headgear latest; Keane takes over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (25/1 -257%)Likedbymike |
25/1(-257%) | (2) Likedbymike 25/1, Ran to form when beaten 1/2l off 79 over 5f at Naas last time. Effective at 5f and acts on yielding and good ground; best form at Cork and remains in good heart. Knocking on the door of late in handicaps but stiffer stamina test may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (6/1 +57%)Noble Nation |
6/1(+57%) | (13) Noble Nation 6/1, Needed the run when down the field in a handicap at Fairyhouse most recently. Effective at 5–6f and suited by plenty of cut; could build on that reappearance. Blew start last time; ground in his favour here and could step up on recent efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (15) (40/1 -122%)Gordon Bennett |
40/1(-122%) | (15) Gordon Bennett 40/1, Never threatened when beaten 9l in a handicap here last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Best at sprint trips on a sound surface; needs luck in running, on a long losing run but has dropped a long way in the weights and goes well at the Curragh. Not that easy to win with but can't be ruled out with cheekpieces belatedly tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (7) (66/1 -136%)Ardeur |
66/1(-136%) | (7) Ardeur 66/1, May have found the ground too testing when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 8f here last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 6f but needs to show more for her new yard. Trips too far of late; back in trip here with cheekpieces tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (8) (40/1 -100%)Mile End |
40/1(-100%) | (8) Mile End 40/1, Forced wide but ran to current form when beaten 6l in a handicap over 8f at Bellewstown last time. Effective at 7f and suited by plenty of cut; in good form over hurdles prior to a recent flat disappointment. Back in trip here and McMonagle booked but not an obvious one on recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (14) (150/1 -200%)Evangelic |
150/1(-200%) | (14) Evangelic 150/1, Far too keen and found nothing when fourth, beaten 52l in a 3yo race over 10f at Roscommon latest. Effective at 7f on fast ground in the UK but out of form for his new yard. Two poor recent runs for current yard over longer trips and now drops markedly in distance. |

DMANIAC handles soft ground well and has advertised his claims twice this autumn. The Martin Hassett-trained gelding beat all bar Gerrit's Gem in a 20-runner 6f Cork handicap last month and had a couple of these rivals behind when third to Unique Journey, who has won again since. over C&D last time. Jon Riggens and Staysound Susie make a quick reappearance after filling the minor placings behind Unique Journey here on Thursday, while Likedbymike has been placed twice in recent weeks. Smoke Them Out had a couple of these behind when scoring over C&D on testing ground earlier this month.

Very open but perhaps there could be a bit of value to be had in the maiden DMANIAC who ran well over C&D last time

7/2(-27%) | (3) Time To Bite 7/2, Won by 11l off 112 over 2m5f at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start but ran well below form when fourth, beaten 26l off 122 last time after failing to dominate. Likes to make the running; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m on good ground though the handicapper may have caught up. High in the weights over fences after five wins this year; off a lower hurdle mark here. |

2nd (1) (11/10 +12%)Ballintubber Boy |
11/10(+12%) | (1) Ballintubber Boy 11/10, Made mistakes and ran green but returned to form back over hurdles when beaten 1 1/4l off a mark of 122 over 2m6f at Hereford last time. Likes to make the running; effective at 3m on quick ground and looks fairly treated if building on that effort. Good strike-rate over hurdles and gave his running when second at Hereford last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (13/2 -30%)I'm A Starman |
13/2(-30%) | (2) I'm A Starman 13/2, Found life tough from a stiff mark when well beaten in a 3m handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time. Effective over 3m on good ground but the handicapper may have his measure now. Looks dangerously higher in the weights after his four-timer earlier this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/4 +50%)Fever Dream |
11/4(+50%) | (4) Fever Dream 11/4, Ran to form when beaten 7l in a 3m2f handicap chase at Chepstow last time. Effective over 3m on good ground but could be helped by a drop in grade. His last 13 races have been over fences, winning twice; back hurdling off a realistic mark. |

Fever Dream returns to hurdling after his fifth at Chepstow over fences and although this will be his first start over hurdles in over a year, he has won on fast ground and warrants consideration. Time To Bite follows a similar path winning two chases at Newton Abbot in the summer and could be the biggest danger to BALLINTUBBER BOY. A staying-on second at Hereford earlier this month, the step back up in trip appears ideal with wins over further to his name.

These small fields suit front-runner TIME TO BITE (nap) and he returns to hurdling off an appealing handicap mark.

Grade 2 novice hurdler winner at Kelso in March; should have a good future over fences. |

4/5(+42%) | (4) Tripoli Flyer 4/5, Made mistakes when 20l third in the Champion Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m5f at Punchestown last time; strong on both speed and form. Impressed when winning Grade 2 novice hurdle in February; hot chasing prospect this season. |

Tripoli Flyer won a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Kempton last season prior to finishing third in the Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown. Not the most fluent hurdler, despite his ability, he could be worth taking on with JET TO VEGAS over the larger obstacles. The latter was also useful over timber, having won a Grade 2 at Kelso, and the brother to a winning chaser could prove even better over fences. Kingston Pride has a bit to find on these terms.

Seriously impressive in the Grade 2 Dovecote novice hurdle at Kempton in February, TRIPOLI FLYER might be the answer here.

Out of his depth in Listed race last time but progressing steadily beforehand. |

16/1(-220%) | (10) Melvin Udall 16/1, Picked up off a steady pace to get off the mark in an ordinary novice when winning by a neck at Redcar last time. Effective from 6f to 7f, acts on good to firm and good to soft; likely to have more to offer now handicapping. Unexposed 3yo; snug win at Redcar last month and should be open to further progress. |

17/2(+39%) | (15) Corundum 17/2, Showed a step back in the right direction having briefly had to wait for a run, beaten 2l off 65 over 8f here last time. Effective from 8f to 10f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; still a maiden but tries a new headgear combination. Behind a couple of today's rivals over 1m here latest; new accessory tried back at 7f. |

8th (5) (11/2 +0%)Gorgeous Mr George |
11/2(+0%) | (5) Gorgeous Mr George 11/2, Won by 4l off 65 over 8f here in August. Looked unlucky not to win when second, beaten a length off 78 last time. Best at 7f to 8f and loves Yarmouth, acts on good to soft and good to firm; set for another bold show. Good record at Yarmouth and comes here in form; should make another bold bid. |

9th (11) (18/1 -29%)King Of Charm |
18/1(-29%) | (11) King Of Charm 18/1, Made no serious threat from off the pace in a race where the winner made all, beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap over 8f at Sandown last time. Effective from 7f to 8f, acts on good and good to firm, and all-weather; still on a fair mark and better than shown latest. Not recaptured last year's best but he returns from a break with his yard in fine form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (10/1 -25%)Palmarian |
10/1(-25%) | (13) Palmarian 10/1, Switched to all-weather with the hood back on and was one of the first beaten when finishing 8l down in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 7f on good to soft; return to this course and distance offers hope of a bounce back. Promising handicap debut over C&D last month but couldn't back it up on AW next time. |

50/1(-257%) | (12) Tayib Youmzain 50/1, Never a threat over a trip short of what's required, beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap over 6f at Lingfield last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time; trainer in form. Effective from 5f to 8f and suited by cut; return to a longer trip with headgear offers hope. Well backed at Lingfield last week (6f, AW) but ended up well held; cheekpieces now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (80/1 -300%)Nutmeg |
80/1(-300%) | (8) Nutmeg 80/1, Looked a non-stayer when back up to 8f on his first run in four months, beaten 9 1/2l in a maiden at Lingfield last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective at 7f; drop in trip should suit now handicapping. Yet to build on his encouraging debut; goes handicapping with a tongue-tie added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (1) (9/2 +55%)Surrey Shadow |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Surrey Shadow 9/2, Back on soft ground, he was always behind in a race where prominent racers were favoured when down the field in a handicap at Sandown most recently. Wears a hood for the first time; effective from 7f to 8f, acts on soft and good ground. Lost form of late and hopes rest on the hood. Big chance on best form but ran no sort of race at Sandown last month (sent off favourite). |

GORGEOUS MR GEORGE deserves a fourth success of the season after three wins here and with a length second over a mile in a similar race off 1lb lower last time here, he gets the vote. Melvin Udall got off the mark in a Redcar novice in September by a neck and a mark of 76 may underestimate him ahead of his handicap debut, while Kingman gelding Palmarian may do better back on the turf after a disappointing fifth at Kempton.

A competitive handicap can fall to James Fanshawe's PIETRO (nap), who ran well in a hot Doncaster handicap last month.

Yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Effective at 1m, handles good to soft and good ground, and can do better down in class. Second in the May Hill, ran in Fillies' Mile, could collect here if handling the ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (6/1 +40%)Thundering On |
6/1(+40%) | (8) Thundering On 6/1, Had too much to do but showed promise when fourth, beaten 4 1/4l, in a maiden over 7f here on debut. Effective at 7f with cut in the ground and should improve when stepped up to 1m or further. Beaten 4 1/4l in fourth behind Cameo on debut, looks capable of winning races.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (15/2 -36%)Ice Dancer |
15/2(-36%) | (3) Ice Dancer 15/2, Quickened and improved for debut experience when winning a maiden at Gowran Park by 1/2l last time. Yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Effective at 1m and handles ground with cut. Form has been franked, with more to come. Handled testing conditions at Gowran, gets the trip and can win more races as she matures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +64%)Cameo |
2/1(+64%) | (1) Cameo 2/1, Quickened clear for a comfortable win when landing a maiden here over 7f by 2 1/4l last time. Yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Effective at 7-8f, very well bred for top connections, and likely capable of better. Won a 7f maiden here on third start, fair chance of reversing previous form with La Fogata. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4/1 +64%)Stars Will Shine |
4/1(+64%) | (6) Stars Will Shine 4/1, Improved when stepping up in trip for a comfortable 5l win in an auction race at Down Royal over 7f last time. Effective at 6-7f and suited by cut in the ground. Continues to progress. Looks a useful prospect but stablemate Caught U Sleeping has stronger credentials. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -33%)Caught U Sleeping |
12/1(-33%) | (2) Caught U Sleeping 12/1, Improved for debut experience when third, beaten 3l, in the Ingabelle Stakes (Listed) over 7f at Leopardstown on latest run. Effective at 7f with speed in pedigree, so further may not suit. Acts on good ground and continues to improve. Debut winner at Naas, interesting based on Leopardstown third behind a Classic hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (11/1 +61%)Ifweonlyhavelove |
11/1(+61%) | (4) Ifweonlyhavelove 11/1, Improved from debut when second, beaten 1/2l, in a maiden at Cork on latest start under a positive ride. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 1m and handles ground with cut. Latest form has been franked and she's progressing. Did well to split two Ballydoyle-trained fillies at Cork, faces tough task against winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (11/1 -120%)La Fogata |
11/1(-120%) | (5) La Fogata 11/1, Ran to form and benefited from a drop in grade when winning a maiden at Punchestown by 1/2l last time. Effective at 7-8f and acts on good ground. Will need more back up in class here. Stayed this trip well at Punchestown, not certain to uphold form with third-placed Cameo. |

An impressive winner of her maiden at Punchestown last month, LA FOGATA can follow up. Although the third filly franked the form since, it was more the manner of victory and, turn of foot shown by the Ger Lyons-trained juvenile that caught the eye. Previously fourth in a Group 3 over this course and distance, the daughter of Mehmas ran green before the penny dropped late on. Even at that, she still managed to finish in front of one of her main rivals here, Sugar Island. The latter has to be respected, given that she subsequently went on to finish third in a Group 2 at Doncaster. Listed placed Caught U Sleeping also boasts strong claims for Noel Meade.

There was plenty of ease in the ground when SUGAR ISLAND was second in the May Hill at Doncaster and she may prove the pick here

1st (6) (13/8 -9%)Where's Cato |
13/8(-9%) | (6) Where's Cato 13/8, Outpaced on a modest hurdle debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m3f at Chepstow last time; a 3m point winner who acts with cut and may need staying trips under rules. Wasn't beaten too far at Chepstow last week and this might be weaker than that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 +68%)Miss Tiara |
9/2(+68%) | (2) Miss Tiara 9/2, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Chepstow last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time and has yet to show anything under rules. No worthwhile form as yet, in a bumper and on her hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (15/8 -106%)Voodoo Angel |
15/8(-106%) | (5) Voodoo Angel 15/8, Never threatened when fourth, beaten 30l in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Sedgefield last time; effective at 2m4f on good ground but has yet to build on a promising Irish debut. Ability in Ireland but beaten 63l and 30l in two 2m4f maidens since joining current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 +60%)Share A Moment |
8/1(+60%) | (3) Share A Moment 8/1, Stopped quickly when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f at Newton Abbot most recently; off a short break and looks a poor performer. Only 1-14 in points; six-race maiden over hurdles and with a basement handicap mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (15/2 -7%)That's All Folks |
15/2(-7%) | (4) That's All Folks 15/2, Below form when up in grade, well beaten in a maiden bumper over 1m7f at Wincanton last time; returning from a long layoff having shown nothing in bumpers on testing ground. Left Shark Hanlon for £9,000; again well beaten in a bumper on yard debut. |

Point-to-point winner WHERE'S CATO may not have shown much on her recent hurdling debut at Chepstow, but stepping up in trip should aid her cause on this occasion and this appeals as a winnable opportunity. Voodoo Angel has been well beaten on both starts since joining Donald McCain, but she is another who may improve for going up in distance, while That's All Folks completes the shortlist with Daniel Sansom taking off a valuable 3lb in the plate.

None of these are at all solid. WHERE'S CATO probably ran in a better race at Chepstow nine days ago.

1st (6) (7/2 +22%)Burgundy Man |
7/2(+22%) | (6) Burgundy Man 7/2, Ran to form but just tired late on when back up in trip, finishing 4l third in a handicap hurdle here on his latest start. On a good mark based on French form, though his strike rate is modest. 0-20 over hurdles but placed on last six outings; makes chasing debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/1 +44%)Thehairyfella |
5/1(+44%) | (8) Thehairyfella 5/1, Below form when stepped up in grade and comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time. Suited by a sound surface but inconsistent. 1-21 over fences; just a respectable sixth over C&D last month; needs to raise game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/1 +33%)Reflection Of You |
6/1(+33%) | (5) Reflection Of You 6/1, Made too much use of early and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f here last time. Effective at around 2 1/2m. Jumping has been a issue in first two chases but she can threaten if she cuts out errors. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 +29%)Auchinlek |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Auchinlek 10/1, Below form and not given a hard time on his final qualifying run when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Newcastle last time. Considered a value selection on the balance of his form. Well held in three novice hurdles (2m3f-2m4f) but may improve in staying handicap chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 -56%)Uptown Harry |
28/1(-56%) | (7) Uptown Harry 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase here last time and form has been going the wrong way for a long time. Veteran who regressed during disappointing campaign last season; back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/1 +9%)Athair Mor |
10/1(+9%) | (3) Athair Mor 10/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 7 1/2l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Newcastle last time and could be competitive again. Respectable fourth on handicap hurdle debut in March (2m4f); now chasing for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (6/4 +8%)Heaven Smart |
6/4(+8%) | (1) Heaven Smart 6/4, Scored by 2 1/2l off 88 over 2m4f here on his penultimate start and ran to form when second, beaten 3/4l off 95 last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, back in form since a wind operation and remains well treated on old form. Dominated from the front over 2m4f here last month; sure to be suited by this return to 3m. |

HEAVEN SMART won over 2m4f here on only his second start over fences. He went close again when just missing out carrying a penalty at Southwell last time, and looks worth another try over this far on that evidence. Everyday Champagne could only manege third behind the selection here last month, though will likely prove a bigger threat on today's more favourable terms, while Reflection Of You will be sharper for a recent comeback run at the track.

A dominant 2m4f course winner last month, HEAVEN SMART remains well handicapped on older form and will be suited by this return to 3m.

1st (3) (11/4 +21%)Sturlasson |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Sturlasson 11/4, Scored by a length off 71 at Southwell on his penultimate start. Effective at 5-6f and acts on any ground. This is his first turf run for the yard and he has a bigger effort in him. Impressed on stable debut; hung left at Lingfield last week; return to straight track a +. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (14/1 -40%)Thunder Star |
14/1(-40%) | (9) Thunder Star 14/1, Again below form when beaten 7l in a handicap at Haydock last time. Suited by 5f and acts on soft and good to firm ground. Has lost form of late. Finished last in two recent runs after a three-month break; conditions fine but not solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 +50%)Diomed Duke |
6/1(+50%) | (6) Diomed Duke 6/1, Made no impact reverting to the all-weather when beaten 4l off 78 at Lingfield last time. Effective at 5-6f and prefers fast ground. Needs to bounce back and cut in the ground raises a question. Impressed at Lingfield (turf) in June; hit hard by the handicapper; good to soft a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 +25%)Far Above The Law |
9/1(+25%) | (2) Far Above The Law 9/1, Again below form having raced keenly when beaten 7l in a 6f handicap at Newmarket last time. Suited by 6f and a sound surface but has lost form of late and has a bit to prove with give. All 2025 runs over 6f, showing useful form on a couple of occasions; none too consistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (17/2 -31%)Cressida Wildes |
17/2(-31%) | (1) Cressida Wildes 17/2, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 79 at Bath last time. Suited by 5f, only just gets an easy 6f, and prefers a sound surface. In good form but would like faster ground. C&D winner; better form when 2nd at Bath latest; up 2lb; unraced on slower than good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/2 -125%)Cuban Lady |
9/2(-125%) | (5) Cuban Lady 9/2, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off 77 over 6f here last time. Suited by 6f and acts on good to soft and good to firm ground. Appears to have enough speed for this first attempt at 5f. Steadily progressive 6f form, latterly a close 3rd here; should be quick enough for 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 +15%)Spoof |
28/1(+15%) | (8) Spoof 28/1, Below form when beaten 7l in a handicap at Redcar last time. Usually held up. Suited by 5f and acts on good ground, also handles testing conditions. Without a win in two years but considered on penultimate run. Veteran; ran well at Haydock last month but not in the same form at Redcar 17 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (15/2 0%)Fletcher's Flight |
15/2(0%) | (11) Fletcher's Flight 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 64 here last time. Trainer in good form. Suited by 5f and acts on soft and good to firm ground. On a competitive mark. On handy mark and conditions won't faze him; proving a bit frustrating this year though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (18/1 +18%)Neyva's Angel |
18/1(+18%) | (10) Neyva's Angel 18/1, Again keen but best effort since debut when fourth, beaten 2 1/4l in a maiden at Southwell latest. Effective at 5-6f and acts on good to soft ground. On a nice mark based on debut form. Signs of both ability & temperament so far; may progress now handicapping for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (22/1 -10%)Our Planet |
22/1(-10%) | (7) Our Planet 22/1, Looked to do too much early from a wide draw when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap at Chester last time. Returning from a short break. Effective at 5f and acts on good to firm and good ground. Excuses last time and considered on earlier Windsor fourth. Won a Leicester maiden in July (stable debut); handicapper on top more recently. |

Cuban Lady and Sturlasson are high on the shortlist. The former has been placed in two of her three previous starts in handicaps and the low-mileage filly is appealing on her first try over the minimum trip. Sturlasson is more proven over 5f and lurks on a very competitive mark. However, a chance is taken on DIOMED DUKE, who can set good fractions when he gets into a rhythm and could be hard to reel in if allowed to set the tempo.

It may pay to give another chance to STURLASSON, who was so impressive at Southwell last month, now he is back on a straight track.

7/1(+22%) | (6) Likewhatyousee 7/1, Ran a bit below form when second, beaten 4l, in a maiden over 1m5f at Bellewstown last time; probably stays 12f, acts on good ground, and is just useful. Seems to be improving but would get weight from three of these rivals in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/4 +42%)Eroico |
7/4(+42%) | (4) Eroico 7/4, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 5 1/2l, in a maiden here last time; effective from 1m to 12f and acts on soft or good ground; in good form. Much the same standard as several of her rivals, looked one-paced over C&D last Thursday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/2 +22%)Maeve Brennan |
7/2(+22%) | (7) Maeve Brennan 7/2, Made a promising debut when beaten 6l in a maiden over 10f here; effective at 10f with cut and should improve if ridden a bit more positively. Not a bad run over 1m2f at this venue on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (16/1 +11%)Jack's Sister |
16/1(+11%) | (1) Jack's Sister 16/1, French Navy filly; half-sister to Nostringsattached, smart at 12f; dam smart from 12f to 17f. Of some interest on pedigree but likely to find a few of her younger rivals too good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (3/1 -60%)Edge Of Seventeen |
3/1(-60%) | (3) Edge Of Seventeen 3/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 11l, in an auction race over 9f at Punchestown latest; effective at 10-11f and acts on good or soft ground; in good form. Not at her best last time, better judged on Killarney second, handled soft ground then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (100/1 -150%)Cahir Bay |
100/1(-150%) | (2) Cahir Bay 100/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden over 10f at Roscommon last time; effective at 9-10f and should get further in time. Roscommon fifth was a step in the right direction, could be a handicap prospect in time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (15/2 -114%)Happiest |
15/2(-114%) | (5) Happiest 15/2, The yard won this last year; probably will not stay, having been beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Leopardstown last time; blinkers on for the first time; top course trainer; effective at 1m with cut; looks a rare moderate one for the yard. Modest form, given plenty of time to mature; could be competitive in first-time blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (300/1 -275%)Mullacurry Maid |
300/1(-275%) | (8) Mullacurry Maid 300/1, Outpaced on debut and well beaten in a maiden over 7f at Naas on her only start; bred to want much further than 7f. Half-sister to stable's eight-time winner Ducky Mallon, no impact on debut over 7f at Naas. |

EDGE OF SEVENTEEN looks to have been found a nice opportunity to get her head in front. The Jessica Harrington-trained filly has shown enough in five previous starts to suggest that she is capable of winning a maiden like this. Placed at both Navan and Killarney prior to finishing fourth at Punchestown last month, the form of that latter race has been well boosted subsequently. The Aidan O'Brien-trained Happiest needs to improve on what she has shown so far but cannot be discounted in first-time blinkers. Bellewstown second Likewhatyousee also has a chance.

A shorter trip was probably to blame for the eclipse of EDGE OF SEVENTEEN at Punchestown. Her Killarney second earns her the vote

9/2(+68%) | (6) Stage Show 9/2, Ran to current form when fourth, beaten 12l in a 2m handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time. Effective at 2m on good ground but looks limited. 28 career defeats include 14 over hurdles; there are stamina doubts over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/1 +13%)Danzini |
7/1(+13%) | (4) Danzini 7/1, Had no obvious excuse when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time. Returns from a short break and has a bit to find. Has won good-ground handicaps at 3m and 3m2f; hard to dismiss off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3/1 +57%)Mind Hunter |
3/1(+57%) | (5) Mind Hunter 3/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective from 2m to 3m but inconsistent in both codes. Up and down profile but runner-up this summer on the Flat and over hurdles; fair last run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (4/1 +50%)Testflight |
4/1(+50%) | (7) Testflight 4/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 6l in a 3m2f handicap chase at Newton Abbot most recently. Suited by 3m on good ground but remains inconsistent. Gives his running over hurdles and fences; close third in latter discipline at the weekend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (13/2 -271%)Cinnodin |
13/2(-271%) | (1) Cinnodin 13/2, Raced lazily throughout but improved on his final qualifying run when second, beaten 2 1/4l in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Southwell last time. The trainer is in form, and this consistent stayer looks effective at the trip with more to come in handicaps. Multiple 1m4f-2m winner on the Flat; blinkers a plus now handicapping over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/2 -64%)Unspeakable |
9/2(-64%) | (3) Unspeakable 9/2, Needed every yard and ran to form when landing a handicap by a head off 81 over 3m1f at Hereford last time. Suited by 3m on a sound surface and a consistent type. Narrow winner over fences last week and gets in here off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/1 -29%)Blue In The West |
9/1(-29%) | (2) Blue In The West 9/1, Had a bit much to do but hinted at a return to form when fourth, beaten 5l in a 3m2f handicap hurdle at Hereford last time. Usually held up, he's effective around 3m and appears to be running back into form for his new yard. Only fourth run for this yard when a one-paced fourth over 3m1f at Hereford. |

Unspeakable won a chase at Hereford last week and could feature again allowed to race off the same mark back over the smaller obstacles. Blue In The West finished a creditable fourth over hurdles at the same Hereford meeting, but CINNODIN looks the one to side with. He finished well clear of the rest when runner-up to a subsequent handicap winner in novice company at Southwell and Jamie Snowden's charge could prove better than his opening mark of 100.

Off the same mark as for last week's win over fences, UNSPEAKABLE gets the vote.

7/1(-56%) | (5) Fostered Phil 7/1, Scored by a length off 98 here two starts ago, then ran to form up in grade when third, beaten 2l off 101, last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and still well treated on old form. Followed last month's C&D win with creditable third at Kelso; each-way claims at least. |

6/1(+8%) | (7) She's Notjoeking 6/1, Made mistakes and needed the run when finding the ground too quick in a 2m2f Kelso handicap hurdle, finishing fourth beaten 18l. Prefers some give and should come on for that reappearance. Made fairly encouraging seasonal debut last month and has slipped to a good mark. |

16/1(-78%) | (3) Pergamon 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 7l in a 1m6f handicap at Haydock last time. Effective at 2m and suited by good ground; maintains fair form in both codes. Fair Flat stayer; 2-3 in 2m maiden/novice hurdles; upped in trip for handicap debut. |

|PU| (1) (4/1 +56%)Ailt An Chorrain |
4/1(+56%) | (1) Ailt An Chorrain 4/1, Well backed but below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle here last time. Had been in good form beforehand and, with the trainer also going well, looks the pick on overall form. 2-5 over hurdles; flopped here on handicap debut in April but may still have potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (22/1 -10%)Malangen |
22/1(-10%) | (10) Malangen 22/1, Went clear but made too much use of himself when third, beaten 58l, in a Hexham handicap hurdle last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and suited by good ground. Can sometimes be very hard to catch but his record this year is very mixed. |

KAP BOY took a step forward when runner-up in maiden company at Ffos Las back in April. Switched to Olly Murphy's in-form yard since then, he should have plenty more to offer now handicapping. Feach Amach could prove competitive again raised only 4lb for winning at Kelso in May, while Fostered Phil is not out of this having won over C&D last month before finishing third in a tougher contest at Kelso.

The pick is SHE'S NOTJOEKING, who has become well handicapped and hopefully took some benefit from last month's reappearance run.

1st (2) (11/2 +39%)Lady La Fay |
11/2(+39%) | (2) Lady La Fay 11/2, Returned to form back on softer ground when 5l third in a handicap here on latest outing. Cheekpieces applied for the first time; trainer in form. Suited by 12f and likes testing conditions; new headgear could help. Well held in handicaps so far but easing ground and fitting cheekpieces may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +38%)Likealot |
5/2(+38%) | (1) Likealot 5/2, Looked a non-stayer on first try at 14f when comfortably held in a handicap over 1m6f at Goodwood last time; in good form prior. Effective from 10-11f, acts on soft; should be suited by the drop in trip. Solid handicap form at 1m2f to about 1m3f; competitive again after fading over 1m6f latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/1 -29%)Sibling Rivelry |
11/1(-29%) | (6) Sibling Rivelry 11/1, Back on track with an improved win in a small field, landing a handicap by a neck off 66 over 12f at Newcastle last time. Suited by 12f and acts on good ground; could have more to offer though cut in the ground would be new. Beat Sound Janet convincingly in July; since won on AW; ground query on good to soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (15/8 +6%)Silver Chamber |
15/8(+6%) | (5) Silver Chamber 15/8, Won by 3/4l off 65 over 12f at Ripon three starts back. Couldn't see it out having got to the front but ran to form when second beaten 2l off 71 last time. Top course trainer; effective from 10-12f, acts on any ground; consistent and progressive. Her 1m4f Ripon win worked out well; still in form; likely to be close up again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/1 -67%)Sound Janet |
10/1(-67%) | (3) Sound Janet 10/1, No threat to the easy winner on ground that may have been too soft when second beaten 4 1/4l in a maiden at Carlisle latest. Effective from 10-12f and acts on good and soft; has more to offer in handicaps. Weights pull with Sibling Rivelry on 1m4f Goodwood form and looks solid to go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (6/1 -100%)Gold Penny |
6/1(-100%) | (4) Gold Penny 6/1, Didn't have the pace to match the useful winner when second beaten 4l in a novice over 12f at Lingfield last time. Effective from 10-12f and acts on good ground; progressing and should be suited by the return to a galloping track. Some promise in good races when qualifying; intriguing in most realistic assignment so far. |

A winner over 1m4f at Ripon in July, SILVER CHAMBER has knocked on the door with runner-up efforts at Windsor and Pontefract last month. Her latest effort was particularly encouraging as she pulled well clear of the rest and, from 1lb higher, the daughter of Sea The Moon has a major chance of success this time. Handicap debutant Gold Penny is a likely improver to monitor closely in the betting, while Sound Janet and Sibling Rivelry are consistent enough to be on the premises.

Sibling Rivelry can continue on the upgrade but GOLD PENNY has been tilting at windmills so far and can show more now handicapping.

1st (14) (9/2 +18%)Sirius |
9/2(+18%) | (14) Sirius 9/2, From a yard with two wins in the last ten renewals of this race. Ran to form but needed the run when beaten 9l in the Irish Cesarewitch over 2m1f here last time. Effective from 12f to 16f, best with cut, and should come on for that reappearance. Shock winner of 2m1f Galway amateur race last year, this trip probably short of optimum. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/2 +50%)Smooth Tom |
11/2(+50%) | (5) Smooth Tom 11/2, Won this race last year and ran to form when third, beaten 4l, in a 2m3f Conditions Hurdle at Punchestown on latest start. Effective over 12f and handles soft to good to firm ground. In good order over hurdles and prefers smaller fields. Third in the Irish Lincoln, two hurdle wins this year, below best on the Flat at Listowel. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (40/1 -43%)The Mediator |
40/1(-43%) | (7) The Mediator 40/1, Unsuited by the shorter trip but flew home after missing the break when 3l third in a handicap here last time. Usually held up; effective between 12f and 16f. Fairly treated on jumps form and could improve back up in distance. Won over 2m at Clonmel on penultimate star; faces an unenviable task at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (8/1 +43%)Lord Erskine |
8/1(+43%) | (1) Lord Erskine 8/1, Never threatened but ran to form when beaten 8l in a 2m handicap at Naas last time. Had been in good form previously; trainer also going well. Reliable dual-code veteran who remains effective at 2m but now well exposed to the handicapper. Splendid veteran, a continuing credit to his trainer, faces a big task at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (15/2 -88%)Olympic Man |
15/2(-88%) | (9) Olympic Man 15/2, Yard has won two of the last ten renewals of this race. Produced a promising effort when 3 1/4l third in a 1m6f Flat Race (Amateurs) at Listowel last time. Effective at 14f with plenty of cut; more to come on the Flat judged on jumps form. Useful but error-prone chaser, decent run on the Flat at Listowel, more on his plate here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5/1 +33%)Poetic Sound |
5/1(+33%) | (3) Poetic Sound 5/1, Needed the run when down the field in the Irish Cesarewitch over 2m1f here last time. Effective between 12f and 14f, best with plenty of give. Must bounce back but has the ability to do so. Two wins over 1m4f last season, early-season third behind Kyprios gives him a major chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (7/2 +84%)Layfayette |
7/2(+84%) | (8) Layfayette 7/2, Never threatened after missing the break when beaten 10l in the Ballyroan Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown last time. Returns after a short break; effective from 10f to 12f and handles any ground. Not quite at former peak but dangerous down in class. The class act of this race on overall form, retains the ability to win a race of this type. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (12/1 -85%)Taipan |
12/1(-85%) | (6) Taipan 12/1, Outpaced and below form when dropped in trip, well beaten in an 11f handicap at Listowel last time. Best suited by around 14f with some cut in the ground but remains inconsistent. Won over 1m6f at the Galway festival, soundly beaten at Listowel, poor Curragh record. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (200/1 -150%)Hidalgo Des Mottes |
200/1(-150%) | (12) Hidalgo Des Mottes 200/1, Well held up in grade when soundly beaten in a 2m maiden at Thurles last time. A modest maiden in both codes and faces another tough task here. Exposed maiden hurdler, first of two Flat runs was respectable, no appeal in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (9/2 +59%)Mont St Michel |
9/2(+59%) | (2) Mont St Michel 9/2, Ran to form but was well held up in grade, finishing down the field in the Qatar Prix Foy (Group 2) at Longchamp last time. From a top course trainer; effective from 12f to 14f and handles soft and good ground. In fair form overall. Won over 2m1f at Killarney for this rider, out of depth in the Group 2 Prix Foy on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (150/1 -733%)Railway Hurricane |
150/1(-733%) | (13) Railway Hurricane 150/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 14l, in a 2m5f handicap chase at Market Rasen last time. Returning from a long layoff and usually held up. A useful chaser who handles heavy and good ground and is in fair form. Useful four-time jumps winner; has never run on the Flat and lacks a recent outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (15) (80/1 0%)Chant D'or |
80/1(0%) | (15) Chant D'or 80/1, Outpaced and made only a modest effort when finishing down the field in a 10f maiden here last time. Has speed in the pedigree and may be one for further down the line. Has shown no sign of ability in two outings, out of his depth. |

Well suited by the conditions of this race, the Noel Meade-trained LAYFAYETTE can record a 10th career success. Although not the force of old, the eight-year-old has yet to encounter his favoured soft ground this season. Runner-up in a Group 3 race here back in June, the son of French Navy showed that he still retains plenty of enthusiasm for the game. Twice a winner in the UK earlier in the season, Small Fry arguably didn't stay when only ninth in the Irish Cesarewitch. Dropped in class, Mont St Michel has to be given maximum respect for Aidan O'Brien too.

The battle-hardened LAYFAYETTE (nap) is well at these weights, is suited by soft ground, and can record a fifth Curragh win

1st (1) (3/1 -71%)Hillsin |
3/1(-71%) | (1) Hillsin 3/1, Unseated in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Stratford last time where looked big threat; in good form prior; usually held up; returning from a break. A speed and form selection. Returned to former trainer for whom he won three races in 2024; competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/11 +39%)Ugo Bingo |
10/11(+39%) | (2) Ugo Bingo 10/11, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Plumpton last time. Proved progressive last term and a potential threat. Both runs for this yard respectable without looking ahead of his mark; case can be made. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (15/2 +38%)Saucats |
15/2(+38%) | (3) Saucats 15/2, Found the ground too quick when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot last time; returning from a break and out of form. Opposable on what he's shown in Britain but has changed trainers and undergone wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (15/2 +0%)Ghost Jury |
15/2(+0%) | (4) Ghost Jury 15/2, Unseated in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Worcester last time; this is her second run after a wind operation and she returns from a short break. A value selection based on the balance of form. Some winning potential over hurdles; departed early after wind surgery last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/1 -54%)Greenways |
10/1(-54%) | (5) Greenways 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Hereford last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m and prefers to dominate. Won over fences at Uttoxeter in July (2m, good) but miserable efforts since then. |

UGO BINGO and Hillsin readily set the standard on the official ratings. The latter commands respect on just his third start after wind surgery. He was yet to make a move when he came to grief at Stratford latest and could stage a revival. However, Ugo Bingo has a bit more scope for improvement and is appealing dropping in class on his third start for Joe Tizzard. Greenways is the pick of the rest.

Narrow preference is for HILLSIN who has returned to a trainer for whom he won three times last year.

5/4(+44%) | (5) Diamond Geezer 5/4, Improved after a layoff when pulling clear with a handicap blot, beaten 3l off 98 at Worcester last time; cheekpieces on for the first time; progressive and can win soon. Clear second to dual subsequent winners in both his handicaps; must be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 -20%)Mountain Molly |
4/1(-20%) | (3) Mountain Molly 4/1, Improved up in trip when winning a novice hurdle here by 1 1/2l last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and may improve further when stepped up to 3m, judged on point form. Won C&D maiden last month, after a layoff, and should have more improvement to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/1 +21%)Cher Tara |
11/1(+21%) | (6) Cher Tara 11/1, Failed to find much after briefly threatening when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park last time; effective around 2 1/2m on good ground. Has mixed record since Down Royal win in March but still enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (11/2 +69%)Burning It Up |
11/2(+69%) | (7) Burning It Up 11/2, Raced a bit freely and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m here last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and suited by some cut in the ground. Second over C&D on handicap debut in April and ran okay over 2m here last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/1 -82%)Sauce Of Life |
10/1(-82%) | (2) Sauce Of Life 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time where lame; in good form previously; trainer in form and looks the pick on race times. Won in December but pulled up on next outing in April and off for another six months since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 -87%)Follow Charlie |
14/1(-87%) | (4) Follow Charlie 14/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle here last time; effective around 2 1/2m and should come on for that outing. In good form in the spring (C&D winner) but returned from break with poor run last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (10/1 +64%)Coventry |
10/1(+64%) | (9) Coventry 10/1, Outpaced and made mistakes when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time; a tricky ride who appears to be regressing. Well beaten at Kelso this month and remains without a win since 2021. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (25/1 -56%)Topkapi Star |
25/1(-56%) | (8) Topkapi Star 25/1, Returned to form but was just outstayed late when 9l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Hexham last time; returning from a break and has a bit to find. Yet to build upon her success in new cheekpieces in January; others preferred. |

MOUNTAIN MOLLY is progressing nicely and mark of 106 looks workable for her handicap debut. Having finished full of running to land a C&D novice hurdle last month, the Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore-trained mare has plenty to recommend her in this company. Diamond Geezer returned from a break with a respectable second at Worcester last month and is a serious danger with cheekpieces applied. Burning It Up is also unexposed in handicapping terms and has each-way claims.

Second to very well treated rivals in his first two handicaps, DIAMOND GEEZER (nap) can open his account here.

1st (3) (4/5 +71%)Warrant Holder |
4/5(+71%) | (3) Warrant Holder 4/5, About reflected novice form on his handicap debut when 6l third in a handicap at Leicester last time. Effective from 10f to 12f, though the latter may stretch him slightly. Acts on all-weather and may still have more to come. Consistent so far; has won over 1m2f here; this may be run more to suit him than last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/1 -82%)Bragbor |
5/1(-82%) | (2) Bragbor 5/1, Scored by a head off 80 over 10f here on his penultimate start. Ran about to form when made too much use of last time. Effective from 8f to 10f and well suited by the all-weather. Still looks ahead of his mark with more to come. All four starts have come here (1214); should stay the longer trip on breeding; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -64%)Maxi King |
9/2(-64%) | (1) Maxi King 9/2, Well backed and ran to his best when beaten 2 1/4l off a mark of 101 over 1m7f at Doncaster last time. Effective from 12f to 14f, with the longer trip likely to suit best. Acts on all-weather and is consistent, even after breaks. Lightly raced 5yo; has twice run well since returning in June; handles AW; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +18%)Cape Breton |
9/2(+18%) | (4) Cape Breton 9/2, Made too much use of up in trip when finishing down the field in a 1m6f handicap at York last time. Off a short break and better suited by 12f. Acts on all-weather and could return to form now back down in distance. Front-runner; 1-1 on the AW (Polytrack); could be dangerous if getting an uncontested lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (28/1 -367%)Midnight Lion |
28/1(-367%) | (5) Midnight Lion 28/1, Seemed to return to form dropped in trip, winning a handicap by 1 1/2l off 77 over 7f at Ayr last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective from 7f to 10f. Not proven over further and needs to get the fractions spot-on. All six AW wins have come here (1m2f), but he stays this far; more exposed than his rivals. |

WARRANT HOLDER is suitably bred for middle distances and there is a fair amount of substance to his third-placed finish over this trip posted at Leicester a fortnight ago. It's feasible the slow ground didn't play to his strengths in that race and as a half-brother to a couple of winners on the all-weather, switching to Tapeta could be beneficial. Maxi King commands respect but has a stiff test under top-weight. Therefore, fellow three-year-old Cape Breton could be a bigger danger back over this distance.

The vote goes to the unexposed dual course winner BRAGBOR, whose breeding suggests stepping up to this trip may suit.

17/2(+47%) | (6) Made U Blush 17/2, Had a wide trip and was below form switching to the all-weather when beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time, though in good form before that. Effective at 8-10f on good to soft and good; fair mark and return to turf should help. 0-9 but has shown ability; race not run to suit last time; may fare better back on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/2 +40%)Hinchinbrooke |
9/2(+40%) | (7) Hinchinbrooke 9/2, Run probably reflected ability when fourth, beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap over 11f at Kempton latest. Suited by 10f and a sound surface; may improve back at this trip. Handy sort who is 0-7 but bounced back to form when fourth last time; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/1 +17%)War Supremo |
10/1(+17%) | (3) War Supremo 10/1, Below form when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Redcar last time. Suited by 10f (doesn't stay further) and acts on good to soft and good to firm; a bounce back is required. Up and down since getting off the mark at Doncaster in July; others preferred. |

4th (10) (15/2 -7%)Twilight Moon |
15/2(-7%) | (10) Twilight Moon 15/2, Scored by 3l off 64 over 12f at Salisbury in July and ran to her best next time when second beaten 2l off 70 in a race that set up for closers. Effective 10-12f and acts on any ground; consistent and progressive. Won twice over 1m4f on fast ground in the summer but handles soft; this may be run to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 -285%)Polygram |
25/1(-285%) | (5) Polygram 25/1, Slightly below form when overhauled late stepping back up in trip, finishing 2l third in a novice over 9f at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 7-8f on a sound surface and could do better once handicapping. 0-7, but this is her first handicap and the longer trip may suit on breeding. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (3/1 +63%)Shipshape |
3/1(+63%) | (14) Shipshape 3/1, Produced his best effort so far when newly gelded and up in trip with added cheekpieces, beaten 2l off 67 at Redcar last time. Effective 8-10f and acts on good to soft; looks to have more to offer. Beaten less than 2l on handicap debut at Redcar earlier this month; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (20/1 -43%)The Northern Lord |
20/1(-43%) | (13) The Northern Lord 20/1, Never competitive in a race that suited prominent racers, comfortably held in a novice over 7f at Kempton last time. Usually held up; effective at 7-8f on a sound surface; could improve stepping up in trip for handicap debut. Enough in pedigree to suggest stepping up in trip shouldn't be a problem on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (33/1 -32%)Show Biz Kid |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Show Biz Kid 33/1, Again below form when down the field in a handicap over 9f at Newmarket last time. Effective from 9-10f and acts on any going but has been erratic with only one good run since April. 1-18 and inconsistent, but the win came over C&D in April; possible frame material. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (22/1 -193%)Telecommunication |
22/1(-193%) | (11) Telecommunication 22/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 68 over 11f here three starts back. Looked a non-stayer when fifth beaten 50l off 72 last time. Effective 10-12f on a sound surface; drop back in trip should suit. Record here this year reads 131; respected back at this venue; easing ground a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (15) (11/1 +31%)Hazem |
11/1(+31%) | (15) Hazem 11/1, Well held on this return from a lengthy absence when fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a novice over 8f at Newcastle latest. Trainer in form; bred for at least 8f and could improve upped in trip for handicap debut. Bred to be better than he has shown so far and may improve for the switch to a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (14/1 -17%)Eternal Blessing |
14/1(-17%) | (12) Eternal Blessing 14/1, Looked a non-stayer when switched to front-running tactics and finished fourth beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap over 12f at Goodwood. Effective 10-11f and acts on good ground; the drop in trip should suit after a short break. 0-5 but each-way claims back in trip after a short break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (22/1 -144%)Saliko |
22/1(-144%) | (8) Saliko 22/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off 70 at Nottingham three starts back. Below form when sixth beaten 6l off 74 last time, the race perhaps coming too soon. Effective 10-12f on good to soft and good; freshened up since. Back on turf for first time since winning twice at Nottingham in July; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (1) (6/1 +25%)Lordsbridge Blu |
6/1(+25%) | (1) Lordsbridge Blu 6/1, Overcame another slow start to run to form when beaten 2l off 74 here last time. Suited by 10f and acts on a sound surface; mark is slowly easing but he is yet to win on turf. 0-10 in handicaps; down another 1lb, but may be vulnerable to younger rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (2) (22/1 +12%)Lechuga Lad |
22/1(+12%) | (2) Lechuga Lad 22/1, Unable to back up July's improved Haydock win when well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle, not helped by racing keenly. Suited by 10f and acts on good to soft and good; needs to settle better but return to turf should suit. Patchy efforts of late, winning easily at Haydock in July but well held either side. |

Ghost Story drops back in distance with every chance having won nicely at Windsor in July. Twilight Moon finished second at Bath last time and the winner has franked that form since, but a chance is taken on the unexposed HAZEM. Last month's belated seasonal debut at Newcastle should have brought him on and, with breeding strongly suggesting Saeed bin Suroor's charge will relish this extra test of stamina, he could be the one on his handicap debut.

The vote goes to the consistent TWILIGHT MOON who stays further and may have the race run to suit in this big field.

9/2(+59%) | (18) Obscenity 9/2, Had too much to do when beaten 4l off 65 over 8f at Killarney last time; effective at 1m and acts with cut; well fancied on debut and the mark looks fair with potential to improve. Still looked raw when fifth of 11 at Killarney on handicap debut, improvement is feasible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (22) (33/1 +0%)Max Meridius |
33/1(+0%) | (22) Max Meridius 33/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a 9f maiden at Gowran Park last time; trainer in good form; acts with cut and as a bumper performer may prove best suited to longer distance handicaps on the Flat. Mid-field in a good bumper, beaten a minimum of 20l in three maidens, relatively unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (15) (10/1 -11%)Zuzukel |
10/1(-11%) | (15) Zuzukel 10/1, Ran to form but made a bit too much use of himself when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time; effective over 10-12f and suited by cut but looks on a stiff mark and has been inconsistent since moving from France. Ran his best race so far when fifth of 22 over C&D last month, holds a leading chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

16/1(+20%) | (12) Genuine Jim 16/1, Flattened out and below form when down the field in an 8f handicap here last time; effective from 7-8f and suited by soft ground; inconsistent and may have been caught by the handicapper. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (10/1 -25%)Convincing |
10/1(-25%) | (8) Convincing 10/1, Ran to form stepped up in trip when beaten 1 1/4l off 64 over 11f at Naas last time; effective at 1m and suited by ground with some give but needs to build on his recent revival. Most promising effort so far when third to Capital Theory at Naas, could go close. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (50/1 -213%)Putapoundinthejar |
50/1(-213%) | (1) Putapoundinthejar 50/1, Poorly placed off a modest pace and well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Listowel last time; effective at 2m and acts on yielding or good ground but still looks high enough in the weights over hurdles. Two wins over hurdles, unexposed on the Flat, helps to give Tony Martin a strong hand here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (25/1 -56%)Stormie Outlook |
25/1(-56%) | (7) Stormie Outlook 25/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 68 over 8f at Listowel last time; effective from 8-10f, acts on any ground and appears to be running back into form. Bright start for this stable when fifth at Listowel, ran at Leopardstown on Sunday. |

14th (13) (40/1 +20%)Lough Leane |
40/1(+20%) | (13) Lough Leane 40/1, Outpaced and continued in poor form when down the field in a 7f handicap at Down Royal last time; tongue-tie applied for the first time; effective from 8-12f but below par of late though the handicapper has relented. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (26) (28/1 +15%)Galaxy Wonder |
28/1(+15%) | (26) Galaxy Wonder 28/1, Won by 1/2l off 53 at Ballinrobe in July; below form when up in grade, finishing 11th beaten 13l off 56 last time; effective from 7-10f, may not stay further; a free-going frontrunner who had been in form until latest run. Uneven form since Ballinrobe win in July, down the field behind Capital Theory at Naas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (27) (25/1 -79%)Capital Theory |
25/1(-79%) | (27) Capital Theory 25/1, Returned to form down in grade when appreciating a stiff track and shorter trip to win an 11f Naas handicap by a neck off 68 last time; needs 10f+, still well handicapped on UK form but inconsistent for current yard. First reserve, had this rider aboard when scoring at Naas nine days ago, worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (4) (33/1 -32%)Barrogstown Girl |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Barrogstown Girl 33/1, Yard won this last year; showed improvement from debut when comfortably held in a 2m maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last time; progressive over middle distances on the Flat and acts on any ground. Two moderate hurdle runs since a disappointing run on the Flat at Tipperary. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (25) (40/1 -21%)Vervain |
40/1(-21%) | (25) Vervain 40/1, Won by a head off 55 over 12f at Cork three starts ago; below form when 14th beaten 8l off 57 last time; effective over 10-12f on good ground and mark looks about right. Cork win during the summer was over 1m4f on good ground, soft going may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (19) (33/1 -136%)Tilani |
33/1(-136%) | (19) Tilani 33/1, Won by 1/2l off 61 over 8f at Galway in August; ran to form when flattening out late up in trip to finish seventh beaten 11l off 64 last time; tongue-tie first time; consistent from 7-10f, acts on good ground and suited by cut. Three unplaced runs since Galway festival win, last of seven when favourite at Killarney. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (16) (50/1 -25%)Report To Station |
50/1(-25%) | (16) Report To Station 50/1, Yard won this last year; made too much use of herself and was well beaten in an 8f handicap at Killarney last time; tongue-tie fitted for the first time; effective from 6-8f and may prefer some cut but needs more to defy this mark. Soundly beaten in two handicap attempts, tongue-tie on, appears held by Obscenity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
21st (3) (12/1 -9%)Alfalfa |
12/1(-9%) | (3) Alfalfa 12/1, Improved on recent form when suited by a decent test, winning a 12f handicap here by 1 1/4l off 63 last time; effective over 10-12f and handles ground with some give; back in form. Deserved his 1m4f success here last time, possibly not quite as effective at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
22nd (6) (100/1 -150%)Saturn Five |
100/1(-150%) | (6) Saturn Five 100/1, Below form when stepped up in grade and finished down the field in a 12f handicap at Roscommon last time; effective around 10f with cut and on the all-weather but has a bit to prove for his new yard. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
23rd (21) (40/1 -100%)Marzanda |
40/1(-100%) | (21) Marzanda 40/1, Had a bit too much to do after missing the break when 6l third in a Navan handicap last time; effective from 10-12f and not bred for shorter; difficult to rely on to build on her recent revival. Reached the money for the first time at Navan 13 days ago, potentially on the upgrade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
24th (17) (40/1 -150%)Lunar Landscape |
40/1(-150%) | (17) Lunar Landscape 40/1, Below form when upped in trip, beaten 7 1/2l in an 11f handicap at Down Royal last time; acts on soft and good ground, had been in decent form earlier this summer and remains well treated on old UK form. Twice runner-up before a below-par run when favourite at Down Royal, could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
25th (24) (80/1 -60%)Promo Queen |
80/1(-60%) | (24) Promo Queen 80/1, Outclassed and well beaten in a 2m maiden hurdle at Leopardstown last time when returning from a long layoff; effective from 7-10f with cut but in moderate form in both codes. Eighth of 20 in this race last season, struggled in juvenile hurdles subsequently. |

OBSCENITY is a tentative selection here as he bids to open his account. The son of Fastnet Rock was sent off joint favourite on debut, but failed to show much on that occasion and similar comments apply for the rest of his maiden runs. Joseph O'Brien's charge provided some encouragement on his handicap bow and better is expected up in trip. Alfalfa is capable of being in the mix after his victory here over 1m4f at the start of the month, while others to note include Convincing and Chica Guerrera.

An improved display over C&D last month provides encouragement for supporters of ZUZUKEL, Colin Keane's mount for Tony Martin

11/2(+21%) | (9) La Luna Artista 11/2, 5,000 euros Spanish Moon filly; looks stable second string based on jockey bookings. 5,000euros yearling; third foal; half-sister to French 2m1f hurdle winner Mandragore. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (14/1 +22%)Don't Rein Me In |
14/1(+22%) | (3) Don't Rein Me In 14/1, £2,000 Dartmouth gelding; dam was useful over 10f. Probably best watched on debut. £2,000 yearling; dam 1m-1m6f winner (RPR 76); yard 1-18 in bumpers recent seasons. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 +11%)Power Quest |
4/1(+11%) | (6) Power Quest 4/1, 10,000gns Teofilo gelding; dam was useful over 16f. Wears blinkers for the first time. Flat-geared yard does well in bumpers but this gelding is blinkered for his debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (13/8 +54%)No Boundaries |
13/8(+54%) | (5) No Boundaries 13/8, 35,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Moises Has; half-brother to El Fabiolo, a top-class performer over 17f. Likely to go well. 35,000euros 2yo and a half-brother to top-class chaser El Fabiolo. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (5/1 +55%)Tails Of Gold |
5/1(+55%) | (8) Tails Of Gold 5/1, 15,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Nathaniel; half-brother to Thirtyfour Thirty, fair over 18f. 15,000euros 2yo; closely related to bumper/2m1f hurdle winner Thirtyfour Thirty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (8/1 +33%)Arc Centurion |
8/1(+33%) | (1) Arc Centurion 8/1, £1,000 Fastnet Rock gelding; half-brother to Tommy Welsh, who was fair over 20f. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and is probably best watched on debut. Related to some useful Flat winners at up to 2m and stable has wins these races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (33/1 -32%)Rumba Havana |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Rumba Havana 33/1, 1,000gns Havana Grey gelding; half-brother to Renoir, fair over 16f. Dam was very useful at 7f. Looks an unlikely winner on debut. Value dropped to only 1,000gns as a 3yo; stable is 0-16 in bumpers the last five seasons. |

NO BOUNDARIES, a 35,000-euro purchase who is related to the high-class El Fabiolo, boasts an appealing profile and gets the vote on his debut for a yard which won the 2023 edition of this race. However, with the obvious lack of any previous form to assess, the betting market could be a useful guide. Rumba Havana, Tails Of Gold and Power Quest are all suggested as others to keep a close eye on.

Jane Williams won this two years ago and NO BOUNDARIES, who is a half-brother to El Fabiolo, could be the pick of her two runners.

1st (3) (5/2 +38%)Spit Spot |
5/2(+38%) | (3) Spit Spot 5/2, Did it comfortably when improving up in trip to land a handicap by 6½l off 103 here last time. Progressing as the trip increases over hurdles and can do better judged on Flat form. Won comfortably over C&D when upped to 3m last month; still unexposed over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +64%)I Wish You |
4/1(+64%) | (2) I Wish You 4/1, Flattened out back from a break and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f here last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m and suited by cut; should come on for that outing. Looks interesting on first attempt at 3m but stablemate Spit Spot has much less to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (6/1 +63%)Coffeys Forge |
6/1(+63%) | (8) Coffeys Forge 6/1, Made mistakes, was outpaced and had too much to do when well beaten in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse latest. Best around 2½m but stays 3m and acts on any ground; well treated over hurdles judged on chase form. 0-14 over hurdles but won a beginners' chase in the spring; no surprise if he features. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (10/3 -33%)Stiletto |
10/3(-33%) | (9) Stiletto 10/3, Well treated up 7lb and improved again when landing a handicap by 3½l off 94 here last time. A sound surface suits and he's effective from 2m to 3m; in good form since getting his head in front. 2-2 since returned to staying trips last month, the latter win gained over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (9/1 +44%)Dalileo |
9/1(+44%) | (11) Dalileo 9/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 5l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Carlisle latest. Ideally wants 3m, suited by good ground, and is a generally consistent veteran. Scored over C&D in July and returns here after two good runs this month; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (12/1 +25%)Maura Jeanne |
12/1(+25%) | (10) Maura Jeanne 12/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 15l, in a handicap hurdle here latest; in decent form prior and versatile ground wise. Won twice last season; absent since April and remains on fairly tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (16/1 -357%)Blakey Boy |
16/1(-357%) | (6) Blakey Boy 16/1, Well backed and improved again when beaten 1 1/4l off 97 over 2m4f at Hexham last time. Probably has a bit more to come. Struck form over 2m4f at Hexham in spring and could easily have more to offer over 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (16/1 +0%)Shoeshine Boy |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Shoeshine Boy 16/1, Out of form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 3m3f here most recently. Still in the mix off a reduced mark. Out of form when last seen in April but won after a break last autumn; can't be ignored. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (40/1 -60%)Champ Royal |
40/1(-60%) | (1) Champ Royal 40/1, Below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Kelso last time off a stiff mark. The trainer is in form and he has a chance. Placed at Catterick in January but rest of last season's form was disappointing. |

SPIT SPOT was a comfortable winner over this course and distance last month and a 7lb rise might not prevent the consistent six-year-old form expanding on her burgeoning record at this venue. The hat-trick seeking Stiletto is another must for the shortlist, especially with Sean Bowen retaining the ride. However, this is a stiffer test for the gelding and more is required off a career-high mark. Blakey Boy is of low-mileage and can also figure.

Cases can be made for a few of these but SPIT SPOT was an emphatic C&D winner when upped to 3m last month, and she gets the vote.

1st (3) (9/4 -38%)Moonlight Warrior |
9/4(-38%) | (3) Moonlight Warrior 9/4, Not knocked about when finishing a quite promising 5 1/4l fourth in an 8f maiden at Newmarket on debut. The trainer is in form, and he's bred to be a miler who should make normal improvement. Promising 4th at Newmarket on debut (1m) last month; open to improvement & AW should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/1 -45%)Loma Express |
8/1(-45%) | (5) Loma Express 8/1, Green but showed ability on a fair debut when beaten 4 1/4l in a 6f novice at Thirsk. Bred to want a mile or more in time and returns from a break. No threat over 6f on June's debut; new trip/surface needs to spark serious improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 +56%)Saxophonist |
7/2(+56%) | (4) Saxophonist 7/2, Disappointing last time when not staying the trip and finishing well beaten in an 8f novice at Thirsk. Returns from a short break; bred for 10f, a strong, workmanlike sort who was still green on his second start and is worth another chance. Promising 3rd over C&D on debut; well held over 1m since; been gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/4 +9%)Beny Nahar |
5/4(+9%) | (1) Beny Nahar 5/4, The yard won this race last year. Sweating heavily and pulled too hard when finishing down the field in a maiden at York last time, having been in good form prior. Returns from a short break; effective at 7f, bred for 10f, and acts on a sound surface but needs to settle better to bounce back. Runner-up over C&D & at Haydock on first two starts; down field in hot York maiden latest. |

BENY NAHAR promisingly filling the runner-up berth on his his first two starts before being pitched into the Convivial at York last time. That valuable Knavesmire maiden is a traditionally strong affair and the son of Kingman should find this to be an easier assignment. The well-bred Moonlight Warrior should be wiser after being introduced in another decent-looking maiden at Newmarket last month. The son of Gleneagles could have a big say. Loma Express and Saxophonist need steps forward.

Beny Nahar is the one to beat but MOONLIGHT WARRIOR could find plenty of progress with his debut effort behind him.

40/1(+39%) | (10) Porfin 40/1, Showed little on first start since March when down the field in a 7f handicap at Brighton last time; effective 6-7f but looks up against it. Form figures at this track - 234332716 - read fine; out of sorts for the bulk of 2025.. |

66/1(+0%) | (15) Master Zack 66/1, Below form when down the field in a 5f handicap at Southwell last time; effective at 5f but needs to bounce back and handle the slower turf. Placed over 5f here (4-1) on penultimate start; disappointed on Tapeta at Southwell since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (4) (12/1 -20%)Respectable Jack |
12/1(-20%) | (4) Respectable Jack 12/1, Improved effort when just unable to reel in the front-runner, beaten 2 1/4l off 58 at Kempton last time; effective at 6-7f and improved since wind operation and drop to sprinting. Eight-race maiden; runner-up on Kempton Polytrack (6f; 11-2) five weeks ago; 1lb lower.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (8) (22/1 -10%)World Of Darcy |
22/1(-10%) | (8) World Of Darcy 22/1, Remains well below last autumn's best after finishing down the field in a Nottingham handicap last time; trainer in form but out of sorts; best suited by 6f with cut. 16lb below last winning mark; scarcely managed to beat a rival in last three appearances.. |

A change of scenery has worked the oracle for STATE OF MADNESS. He's won both starts for Charlie Clover's yard by a wide margin, including last week's four-length romp at Brighton, and is hard to oppose with Alexandra Egan's allowance in the plate negating his latest penalty. Amarachi won over C&D on her handicap debut and could land a blow representing last year's winning trainer, while Respectable Jack won't be far away.

The bang-in-form STATE OF MADNESS has an obvious chance of bringing up the hat-trick for his new yard.

12/1(-33%) | (2) Goldrush Kid 12/1, Returned to form when beaten 4l off 68 over 7f here last time. Drawn wide in a big field; suited by cut and effective at 7-8f; back on last winning mark. C&D winner off this mark on soft but improvement needed on last week's run here. |

4/1(+20%) | (8) Ohmali 4/1, Ran to best when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 59 at Gowran Park last time after dropping in grade. Effective 7-10f, acts on heavy and good; a maiden in good form and still on a workable mark. Gowran winner up 6lb but could well have more to offer, especially in these conditions. |

14/1(+0%) | (5) Victoria Kesia 14/1, Unseated in a handicap over 10f here latest. Effective 8-10f, suited by plenty of cut, but yet to match maiden form in handicaps. Maiden win came at 1m; back in distance here and could improve on recent efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (16) (16/1 +11%)Pete's Dream |
16/1(+11%) | (16) Pete's Dream 16/1, Below form but stayed the trip when beaten 7l in a Listowel handicap last time. Suited by 7f with speed in pedigree, probably prefers easy ground; inconsistent. Has form on soft but recent Listowel effort leaves him with a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (6/1 +33%)Rampage |
6/1(+33%) | (9) Rampage 6/1, Returned to form when 5l third in a handicap here last time. Wide draw; effective 8-9f, acts on soft or good; generally consistent. Good recent C&D third in testing conditions under today's rider so not one to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (17) (33/1 -32%)Rodeeve |
33/1(-32%) | (17) Rodeeve 33/1, Never threatened after missing the break and had too much to do when beaten 3 1/4l off 59 at Thurles last time. Effective 7-8f on any ground; out of form. Showed a bit more on second yard run at Thurles recently; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (21) (66/1 -100%)Notforalongtime |
66/1(-100%) | (21) Notforalongtime 66/1, Another poor turf run when down the field in a Roscommon handicap most recently. Effective 7f but best on all-weather; out of form since returning to turf. Better for recent comeback but of greater interest back on the AW in the coming months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (4) (17/2 +39%)Smithfield |
17/2(+39%) | (4) Smithfield 17/2, Disappointing on handicap debut when beaten 8l at Listowel last time. Has a wide draw; effective 8-12f on good ground; consistent in maidens before that run and still early in career. Lightly raced 3yo remains a potential improver on second handicap start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (6) (40/1 -43%)Maarisha |
40/1(-43%) | (6) Maarisha 40/1, Forced wide and below form when well beaten in a Bellewstown maiden last time. Drawn wide; acts with cut, effective 8-9f, doesn't quite stay 11f; inconsistent of late. Tame Bellewstown effort on soft; hard to make a case for back in handicap company. |

33/1(+18%) | (15) Hutton Glen 33/1, Continued in poor form when down the field in a Cork handicap most recently. Effective at 10f on good or soft ground; struggling since returning from hurdling. 15-race maiden and shown very little since 2023 in either sphere; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (3) (28/1 -12%)Secret Magician |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Secret Magician 28/1, Made too much use of when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Has a wide draw; effective 7-8f on any ground; generally consistent but on a long losing run. Ideally wants better ground, others hold stronger claims on this ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (19) (50/1 -52%)Lust |
50/1(-52%) | (19) Lust 50/1, Ran to form but had too much to do after missing the break when beaten 7 1/2l in a Roscommon handicap last time. Effective 7-8f, enjoys cut; inconsistent. Former Listed winner has regressed big-time; unplaced at Gowran Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (22) (11/2 +66%)Roderick |
11/2(+66%) | (22) Roderick 11/2, Won by 1 1/4l off 48 at Naas three starts ago; made too much use of when 17th beaten 9 1/2l off 54 last time. Wide draw; effective 8-10f, handles cut; was in good form until latest and remains well treated on old efforts. Recent efforts over further below best but returned to form with fouth at Gowran (Monday). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
21st (11) (12/1 +14%)Showhound |
12/1(+14%) | (11) Showhound 12/1, May have found the ground too testing when down the field over 7f here last time. Significant jockey booking; effective 7f, may not stay further; out of form for new yard. Needs to improve plenty on recent comeback run here; Keane booking takes the eye. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
22nd (10) (66/1 -230%)Peig Sayers |
66/1(-230%) | (10) Peig Sayers 66/1, Below form when up in grade and down the field in a Cork maiden last time. Usually held up; effective at 1m on soft or good; has something to prove in handicaps. Unlikely one to make an immediate impact in handicaps. |

OHMALI is taken to double his tally after a staying-on victory at Gowran last month. Natalia Lupini's gelding has been a relatively consistent performer and with the softer forecasted conditions, he is expected to have more to offer. The eye-catching booking of Colin Keane for Showhound would display some signs of confidence, but he would need to improve on his recent showings to figure here. Warazam and Super Exceed appeal most of the remainder.

OHMALI won a shade snugly at Gowran in testing conditions and the 3yo could have more to offer on this ground

1st (5) (9/1 +55%)Winged One |
9/1(+55%) | (5) Winged One 9/1, Showed only modest ability and needed the experience when beaten 9 1/4l in a 7f maiden at Leicester on debut; trainer in form; likely to want 10f or more in time and should progress. Likely needs more time having ran green when down the field on last month's debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (1/1 +50%)Harriet Quimby |
1/1(+50%) | (3) Harriet Quimby 1/1, Produced a solid effort without being hard ridden when third, beaten 2l, in a maiden at Nottingham on debut; by a miler sire and out of a mare who stayed 12f; a strong sort with a good attitude who should progress. The one to beat having run well when giving up experience to the two who beat her on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/1 -67%)Light The Night Up |
10/1(-67%) | (4) Light The Night Up 10/1, Improved from her debut when second, beaten 5l, in a novice over 7f here last time; speedily bred but appears to need at least 7f; open to a bit more improvement. Showed more last time but that 25k race attracted just four runners; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (28/1 -250%)Adiada |
28/1(-250%) | (1) Adiada 28/1, Game effort coming clear with the winner and improving when second, beaten 1/2l, in a novice at Beverley last time; effective over 8/9f and bred to stay 10f or further; shows a good attitude. Good step forward four weeks ago but more is needed to trouble a couple of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/4 -59%)Balkadisha |
7/4(-59%) | (2) Balkadisha 7/4, Showed greenness under pressure but finished strongly when runner-up, beaten a nose, in a maiden here on debut; effective over 1m and likely to stay further; can improve markedly on already solid form. Odds-on favourite/winner hung fire in front but it was a highly encouraging debut (C&D). |

BALKADISHA, who cost 82,000gns foal, yet went for 115,000gns as a yearling, posted a sterling effort to finish second to useful type when she was introduced over this course and distance 19 days ago. A step forward on that form would make this daughter of Churchill hard to beat. Harriet Quimby has an appealing pedigree and should also be wiser after her debut third at Nottingham, while Light The Night Up has some course experience and is a potential improver stepping up in trip.

The two to focus on are the once-raced pair Balkadisha and HARRIET QUIMBY. The Crisford filly gets the nod.

18/5(+89%) | (11) Pockley 18/5, Poorly drawn when beaten 10l in a handicap at Ayr last time; effective 5/6f performer, acts on any surface; out of form and mark looks stiff. Some turf struggles have seen him drop back down the weights; of interest returned to AW. |

9/1(+55%) | (13) Shatin Venture 9/1, Below form when coming from well back and beaten 3l off 48 here last time; effective at 5f on all-weather; mark looks about right. C&D win in March; unplaced in three runs since and others appeal more for win purposes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -56%)Invincible Annice |
25/1(-56%) | (4) Invincible Annice 25/1, Probably did too much early when beaten 8l in a 6f handicap here last time; cheekpieces first time; wide draw; suited by 5f, acts on any surface; hinting at revival. Placed off 8lb higher over C&D in June; mixed bag since; headgear now reached for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-140%) | (9) Soul Seeker 18/1, Ran to form when 6 1/4l third in a handicap at Musselburgh most recent run; suited by 5f, acts on any surface; seems to have regressed but well treated now. Struggled for this yard in 2025 but he's dropped to a paltry mark; worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (9/2 +55%)Uncle Sam |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Uncle Sam 9/2, Bit below form when 4l third in a handicap over 7f here last time; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather; form has tailed off a bit. Course winner (6f); several good runs for new yard this year but drop to 5f a slight query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (13/2 -18%)Newyorkstateofmind |
13/2(-18%) | (3) Newyorkstateofmind 13/2, Close to form when beaten 4l off 55 at Southwell last time; visor first time; effective 5/6f performer, best at 5f nowadays; poor strike rate and needs a decent pace to aim at. No win for 13 months but regularly runs well; different headgear tried this evening. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (28/1 -331%)Garifullina |
28/1(-331%) | (8) Garifullina 28/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 54 at Catterick last time; off a short break; effective 5/6f performer, unproven on all-weather; fair mark. Two 6f turf wins last season; promising seasonal return in August; AW still a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (15/2 +6%)Cavalier Approach |
15/2(+6%) | (5) Cavalier Approach 15/2, Below form when down the field in a 7f handicap at Galway most recently; enjoys making the running; off a short break; effective 5/6f performer who acts on any surface but has lost form. No form in 2025 but he's been given a big helping hand by the assessor & headgear returns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (17/2 +39%)Desert Master |
17/2(+39%) | (12) Desert Master 17/2, Made too much use of up in trip when beaten 4l in a 6f handicap here last time; suited by 5f and a sound surface; needs a return to form. Weakened over 6f here last week; return to 5f will suit and he's one to take seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (12/1 -33%)Wee Mary |
12/1(-33%) | (7) Wee Mary 12/1, Below form when beaten 7l in a handicap here last time; top course jockey booked; off a short break; suited by 5f, acts on all-weather; poor on last three starts. 0-11 but four times a runner-up for R Menzies this year; interesting on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (15/2 -50%)Masterclass |
15/2(-50%) | (2) Masterclass 15/2, Yard won this last year; ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 53 at Southwell last time; suited by 5f, acts on any surface; inconsistent but workable mark. Modest strike-rate but a repeat of either of his last two AW runs would see him involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (25/1 -25%)Conquest Of Power |
25/1(-25%) | (6) Conquest Of Power 25/1, Poor effort when needing the race and finishing down the field in a 6f handicap at Leicester last time; effective 6-8f performer; recent form all on all-weather; plenty to prove after a break. Low-key return at Leicester two weeks ago; opposable on a rare 5f run. |

MASTERCLASS scored off a similar mark at Nottingham back in May and recent placed efforts on the Tapeta suggest another bold bid is on the cards. Having finished runner-up at Southwell a fortnight ago, he can go close representing last year's winning yard. Newyorkstateofmind has a bit to find with the selection on their latest running but could still make the frame, while Garifullina will be sharper for her second at Catterick and could be on the premises.

A clash between dangerous lurkers and in-form candidates. MASTERCLASS is preferred to Newyorkstateofmind in the latter category.

10/3(+26%) | (4) Grey Soul 10/3, Run may have reflected his ability when beaten 3 1/4l off 68 at Kempton last time. Blinkers on for the first time; wide draw. Effective at 7f, may get a mile, acts on all-weather; mark more realistic now. Unplaced in all five starts, but wasn't beaten far last time; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (12/1 +14%)Runninsonofagun |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Runninsonofagun 12/1, Produced a better effort in cheekpieces, made a lot of use of and finished third beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap here most recently. Suited by a mile, acts on turf but no worthwhile all-weather form; needs to find a little. 5l behind Terrapin last time and 10lb better off, but hard to see him reversing the form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 -45%)Travis |
8/1(-45%) | (3) Travis 8/1, Back to form up to a mile on all-weather when beaten a length off 63 here last time. Effective from 6f to 8f, probably better at the latter trip, acts on any going; largely reliable. 2-27 but runner-up to a thriving rival over C&D last time; holds claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 -9%)Cooperation |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Cooperation 12/1, Did too much early when beaten 4 1/4l in a 7f handicap at Ayr last time, though in good form prior. Ridden by top course jockey. Effective over 7f to 8f, acts on any surface; workable mark, needs to bounce back. Unexposed over 1m and has run well at the trip, but still 6lb above his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/1 -67%)Selection |
5/1(-67%) | (1) Selection 5/1, Ran at least to her best novice form when winning a handicap by 2 1/2l off 70 here last time. Effective from 6f to 8f, bred to sprint, acts on all-weather; looks well handicapped. 6lb penalty for winning over C&D a week ago; remains open to improvement on this surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (100/1 -456%)On The Bubble |
100/1(-456%) | (8) On The Bubble 100/1, Ran to her usual low level when beaten 3l off 46 over 7f at Musselburgh last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 8f to 9f, handles soft ground; consistent at a modest level when getting fractions right. 1-26 on the Flat and takes on better company from 5lb out of the weights; up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (5/4 +44%)Terrapin |
5/4(+44%) | (5) Terrapin 5/4, Essentially all out but improved on handicap debut when landing a handicap by 4l off 57 here last time. Effective at 8f and may stay a bit further; all runs on all-weather; progressing well and game. Won by 4l on handicap debut over C&D earlier this month; up 9lb but has more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (16/1 +20%)Kameel |
16/1(+20%) | (2) Kameel 16/1, Below form when dropped back in trip, finishing fourth beaten 6l in a 7f handicap here latest. Effective over 7f to 8f, best form on all-weather; needs to bounce back from two poor runs. Dual 7f winner here last winter, but 0-7 in handicaps since; 2lb drop not enough to tempt. |

SELECTION proved well suited to the mile trip when scoring in impressive fashion here on last week's handicap bow. The daughter of Cotai Glory appeared to win with plenty left in the tank and a 6lb penalty may not be be enough to halt her progress. Terrapin also won in fine style over C&D on his handicap debut and will likely prove a bigger threat than Travis, who found one too good here last month.

Both Selection and TERRAPIN (nap) are unexposed 3yos who come into this off the back of C&D wins, with preference for the latter.

14/1(+13%) | (14) Cash In 14/1, Below form after making a lot of use of him, beaten 7l in a handicap here last time. Effective at a stiff 5f and 6f, prefers a sound surface; out of form lately. Handicapper in command this year after ending last season with a C&D win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (9/1 -13%)Rock Of England |
9/1(-13%) | (10) Rock Of England 9/1, Won by a length off 62 at Beverley in August but was a bit below form back on AW last time. Suited by 5f and a sound surface; generally consistent though form has dipped recently. Chance on this year's turf best but he was a well-held 4th over C&D last time. |

Course regular HERAKLES has recorded all three wins on the all-weather to date at this venue. He found only one too good back here last time, despite missing the break, and looks worthy of another chance on that showing. Zuffolo won over C&D last month and has solid claims back at this venue, while Blue Force could also make his presence felt after posting an improved effort at Southwell on his latest start.

Ganesha and Harb are greatly respected but this could be the day that BONNIE'S BOY sheds his maiden status.

A 7f and 6f winner here; ended losing run in August (6f, turf); weights chance on C&D form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (14/1 -300%)Tickets |
14/1(-300%) | (7) Tickets 14/1, Travelled strongly, squeezed through on the rail and won going away by 3/4l off 50 at Redcar in April. With a top course jockey booked, he is suited by 6f on a sound surface but still has ability to confirm. Two course wins, at 7f and 6f, last October and in January; off since turf win in April. |

RAFT UP ticks too many boxes to ignore with three wins over course and distance and a short-head second here last time. He has every chance to add to those successes now with Joe Fanning keeping the ride, assuming he gets a clear run. Tickets won last time out at Redcar but is 10lb higher back on the all-weather and Bellagio Man may prove the bigger danger.

Bellagio Man is much respected after a cosy win here last time but RAFT UP can extend a cracking C&D run since fitted with a hood.

Trainer Antony Brittain won this last season and is back for more, this time with Asadjumeirah, a six-time C&D winner and second here earlier in the month. He can go close with a small step forward, but CAROLUS MAGNUS is preferred. He won very easily by over two lengths at Musselburgh last week and turns out quickly carrying a 4lb penalty, in the expectation he will go up more than that for future contests. Yorkshire Glory can also go well.

Carolus Magnus is back in form and can be dangerous but PROFIT STREET gets the vote off a favourable mark back on home territory.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
