5/1(+0%) | (10) Oratorical 5/1, Ran to form when 2l third in a maiden over 7f at Chester most recently; off a short break; effective at 7f and acts on a sound surface; up in trip on softer ground here. Placed in July on first two starts; leading form claims on this first outing since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-13%) | (8) Pure Moon 18/1, 23 Apr; 35,000gns Sea The Moon gelding; half-brother to Consolidation, smart at 7f; dam very useful at 7f at 2yo; wide draw; tough enough task on debut. Half-brother to two useful winners and trainer can ready one first time; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 +61%)Bridge Of Eagles |
11/4(+61%) | (3) Bridge Of Eagles 11/4, Showed promise without the pace to challenge when well beaten in a novice at Salisbury on only start; bred for middle distances and should improve on that debut; soft may help. Soundly beaten on debut but not devoid of promise & connections have done well with family. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (33/1 0%)Al's River |
33/1(0%) | (9) Al's River 33/1, Showed only minor promise and made no impact from off the pace when well beaten in a novice at Salisbury on only start; bred to want around 10f and looks a type to do better in handicaps as a 3yo. Backed into 14-1 (from 40s) for recent debut at Salisbury but finished well beaten. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (40/1 -627%)Gaelic Approach |
40/1(-627%) | (4) Gaelic Approach 40/1, Improved when second, beaten 5l in a novice at Ayr on testing ground; effective at 8f, acts on heavy; middle-distance bred but could have been flattered by the small field. 5l second of four at Ayr on second start and could continue to progress; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (33/1 -83%)Barbury Boy |
33/1(-83%) | (2) Barbury Boy 33/1, Well beaten after racing too keenly in a novice here on only start; likely to want at least 10f and looks one for handicaps as a 3yo. Cost 75,000euros at the breeze-ups in May but soundly beaten at 28-1 over C&D on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (6/1 -71%)Charlotte Corday |
6/1(-71%) | (12) Charlotte Corday 6/1, Showed nice improvement on debut when 3/4l third in a maiden at Leicester most recently; effective at 8f and acts on good to soft; type to do better again over further. Close third at Leicester recently on her second start and she's a possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (28/1 -12%)Hansteen |
28/1(-12%) | (7) Hansteen 28/1, Made no impact over an inadequate trip when well beaten in a novice over 7f at Catterick on only start; wide draw; bred for middle distances and should do better over further as a 3yo. Potential in pedigree but well beaten on this month's debut and has to leave that behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (9/2 -50%)Montague Menace |
9/2(-50%) | (6) Montague Menace 9/2, Faced a tough task in a strong sales race when well beaten at Longchamp last time; trainer in form; bred for 8–10f and this looks more realistic. Improvement needed but with a respected trainer and back down in grade today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (12/1 +57%)Tales Old As Time |
12/1(+57%) | (11) Tales Old As Time 12/1, Below form, too keen and not staying a mile when beaten 9 1/2l in a novice at Kempton last time; wide draw; doubt about soft ground on this turf debut. Encouraging third on debut at Kempton in August but a lesser run followed there last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (40/1 -150%)Always A Saint |
40/1(-150%) | (1) Always A Saint 40/1, 4 May; St Mark's Basilica colt; half-brother to Limato, top-class at 7f; dam moderate at 12f; very interesting debutant. Half-brother to four winners notably Limato; likely to improve for this debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (14/1 +22%)Gypsy Beat |
14/1(+22%) | (5) Gypsy Beat 14/1, Green and showed little when well beaten in a maiden over 7f at Chepstow on only start; off a short break; bred to want 10f or more and can surely do better than that debut. Too green to do himself justice on debut but in top hands and could take big step forward. |

GAELIC APPROACH wasn't expected to beat a 2/7 favourite at Ayr a fortnight ago, but gave a good account in second on heavy ground. The forecast going here could be a source of improvement for the son of Masar, who is forwarded as a strong contender. The betting should be informative and any support for the the likes of Charlotte Corday and Oratorical would need to be taken seriously. Pure Moon is an interesting newcomer to also keep an eye on.

This could go to the once-raced BRIDGE OF EAGLES, who is from a family his connections have done well with.

1st (7) (10/11 +67%)Ocean Conquest |
10/11(+67%) | (7) Ocean Conquest 10/11, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time having wanted easier ground. In good form prior; a speed and form selection. The pick on RPRs, but can jump left and make mistakes; may need more rain than forecast.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 -67%)Amancio |
5/1(-67%) | (1) Amancio 5/1, Keen and did too much too soon when comfortably held in a handicap over 12f at Chester last time. In good form prior and returns from a break. Effective at 2m, handled any ground on the Flat and was progressive when last seen over hurdles. Didn't settle but still made all at Chepstow in April (2m, good); more on under penalty.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 -33%)Snatch A Glance |
3/1(-33%) | (3) Snatch A Glance 3/1, Quickened clear cosily, improving and making good use of experience when winning a bumper here by 2 1/4l last time. Effective at 2m and suited by a sound surface. Bumper winner with form franked and more to come over hurdles with a fitness edge. C&D bumper winner latest (good to firm), despite not settling; certainly in the mix.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (25/1 -150%)Sugar Road |
25/1(-150%) | (8) Sugar Road 25/1, Keen and probably did not stay when down the field in a handicap over 1m5f at Hamilton most recently. Returns from a break and has a bit to find off a stiff mark. No stamina issues, but will need to help himself more than he's done on the Flat latterly.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/1 -20%)Lord Cauvelliere |
9/1(-20%) | (6) Lord Cauvelliere 9/1, Ran to form when second, beaten a head, in a bumper over 2m1f at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Returning from a break; effective at 2m and suited by quick ground. Bumper and point winner who should be competitive on hurdle debut. Two wins (one between the flags) and head second in three bumpers; player on hurdling bow.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|S| (2) (80/1 -100%)Seinesational |
80/1(-100%) | (2) Seinesational 80/1, Possibly got racing early when fourth, beaten 17l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m7f at Worcester last time. Absent for a very lengthy period and has a lot to find. Winless for five years, and untried over this short a trip since July 2021; best watched.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (5) (28/1 -133%)Jack The Boss |
28/1(-133%) | (5) Jack The Boss 28/1, Keen when winning a juvenile hurdle at Wetherby by 2l on debut. Returning from a long layoff and has a bit to find in better race. Demonstrably green in taking a madcap junior event last year; hard to gauge that form.. |

AMANCIO was successful on the level at Newbury back in the spring and also won when last seen in this sphere at Chepstow in April. Faye Bramley's charge is narrowly preferred to Ocean Conquest, who drops to novice company after being outclassed in a handicap at Ascot when last in action. A taking winner of a bumper at Ludlow earlier in the month, Snatch A Glance is an intriguing prospect on his debut in this sphere.

Seemingly the less inclined to date either to take a grip or contest the pace, LORD CAUVELLIERE is preferred to Snatch A Glance.

1st (3) (5/1 -122%)Fountains Blenhein |
5/1(-122%) | (3) Fountains Blenhein 5/1, Far too keen in front and stopped quickly when finishing down the field in the Grade 2 Weatherbys NH Flat Race over 2m1f at Aintree last time; a value selection based on overall form. Won course bumper by 6l in March; taken very seriously on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (13/2 +54%)Legal Weapon |
13/2(+54%) | (5) Legal Weapon 13/2, Found little when finishing down the field in a bumper over 2m at Warwick last time; the trainer is in form; a 2m bumper winner with decent form who acts on good to soft; could bounce back now hurdling. Won Warwick bumper on debut; weakened tamely in both subsequent bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (14/1 +44%)Pounds At The Time |
14/1(+44%) | (7) Pounds At The Time 14/1, Below form when down the field in an auction bumper over 2m at Naas last time; returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m on heavy or good ground but has plenty to find back from a break. Had mixed record in Irish bumpers but form of his Tramore second reads well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (12/1 -118%)Asta La Vista |
12/1(-118%) | (10) Asta La Vista 12/1, Made a promising debut when fourth, beaten 2¼l, in a bumper over 2m at Worcester first time out; effective at 2m and may stay a bit further over hurdles. Close fourth on last month's bumper debut; ought to have a future over jumps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (33/1 -32%)Rap Soul |
33/1(-32%) | (8) Rap Soul 33/1, Probably needed the run when modest on bumper debut, well beaten in a 2m event at Ffos Las last time; second run after wind surgery; placed in a 3m point and the step up in trip should suit on hurdles debut. Second on Irish point debut but well held in Ffos Las bumper on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 -43%)Keno Black |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Keno Black 20/1, Yard won this race last year; improved to finish third, beaten 18l, in a maiden over 3m at Quakerstown on latest start; showed minor promise in a 3m point but needs more to feature under rules. Unlucky not to win an Irish point in March; market may guide before this rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|B| (1) (9/2 +25%)Big Bert |
9/2(+25%) | (1) Big Bert 9/2, Bit free but improved from his debut when second, beaten 16l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Huntingdon last time; effective at around 2½m and acts on good to soft; progressing over hurdles. Second in Carlisle bumper last season but first two hurdle runs were underwhelming. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|B| (9) (18/1 -29%)Vol Royale |
18/1(-29%) | (9) Vol Royale 18/1, Raced wide but ran to form when fourth, beaten 3½l, in a bumper over 1m7f at Wincanton last time; a 3m point winner who should improve for stepping up in trip over hurdles. Irish point winner; fourth in both bumpers; not ruled out each-way on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (6/4 +33%)Maldini Milano |
6/4(+33%) | (6) Maldini Milano 6/4, Finished second, beaten 2½l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f at Newton Abbot last time; effective from 2m to 2m6f and suited by decent ground; a bumper winner who should improve for that hurdling debut experience. Small-field bumper winner; good start to hurdling career when second at Newton Abbot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (25/1 +24%)Dancing Sky |
25/1(+24%) | (11) Dancing Sky 25/1, Probably needed the run when modest on bumper debut, well beaten in a mares' bumper over 2m at Warwick last time; returning from a long layoff; a 3m point winner who should improve for the step up in trip over hurdles. Irish point winner in February 2024; made low-key bumper debut one year later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (200/1 -700%)Country Style Boy |
200/1(-700%) | (2) Country Style Boy 200/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle over 2m2f here last time; yet to show any worthwhile ability. Dropped out tamely and was pulled up when 22-1 for debut here (2m1f) three weeks ago. |

It's hard to get away from MALDINI MILANO. Paul Nicholls' charge shaped with lots of promise when only finding one too good on his hurdles debut at Newton Abbot last month and would have learned a great deal from that experience. The drop in trip shouldn't pose any problems and he looks the way to go. Asta La Vista showed ability in his sole bumper start when fourth at Worcester and goes for the in-form Charlie Longsdon stable. Fountains Blenhein is the pick of the remainder.

A very respectable second on last month's hurdling debut at Newton Abbot, MALDINI MILANO is taken to build on that performance here.

1st (8) (10/1 -67%)Startled |
10/1(-67%) | (8) Startled 10/1, Did well after plenty of early running from a high draw when beaten 2l off 67 at Lingfield last time; effective at 5-6f; soft ground a doubt back on turf. Deserves extra credit for his Lingfield fourth and could play a leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (9/2 +78%)Woolisle |
9/2(+78%) | (10) Woolisle 9/2, Below form when beaten 5 1/4l in a nursery at Leicester last time, having been in good form prior; effective at 5-6f, acts on soft and good; more needed after latest disappointment but well handicapped at best. Third at Bath on penultimate start but failed to back it up last time and now 0-6. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/1 +56%)Marwaan |
7/1(+56%) | (2) Marwaan 7/1, Didn't get home after a wide trip when beaten 4l off 70 over 7f at Lingfield last time; effective at 7f, doesn't stay further; lost form of late but now back sprinting. Sixth of 14 over 7f at Lingfield recently, shaping as though he may benefit from 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (12/1 +14%)Mad Unicorn |
12/1(+14%) | (14) Mad Unicorn 12/1, Scored by 3/4l off 46 over 5f at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start; wasn't seen to best effect in a muddling race last time; trainer in form; suited by 5f; not proven on turf; strong sort with a bit more to come. In good form over 5f on AW on last two starts; could have more to offer now back up to 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/1 +0%)Valor Spirit |
5/1(+0%) | (1) Valor Spirit 5/1, Did okay considering softer ground when 2 1/2l third in a maiden at Ayr last time; effective at 5-6f, acts on soft and good to firm; conditions again not ideal. 0-7 but has often run well and might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (11/2 +31%)Madman |
11/2(+31%) | (13) Madman 11/2, Improved form, closing from off the pace in an added visor when beaten a length off 56 at Leicester last time; usually held up; effective at 6-7f, acts on soft and good to firm; may be ready for a return to further. 0-8 but second of 14 at Leicester recently and every chance he'll be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -43%)Miss Piggle |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Miss Piggle 20/1, Back to form down in class in new headgear combination when fourth beaten 5l in a nursery at Leicester last time; effective at 5-6f, acts on good and good to soft; considered in same grade as latest. 0-7 since winning on debut at Southwell in April and has to raise her game this afternoon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (20/1 -67%)Noelies Dream |
20/1(-67%) | (9) Noelies Dream 20/1, Improved form on ground that may have suited when beaten 4l in a maiden over 5f at Beverley last time; blinkers first time; effective at 5f, acts on soft and good to firm; maybe a bit more to come in nurseries. Return to 6f not a guaranteed plus on h'cap debut but not discounted in 1st-time headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (40/1 -82%)Ryefield |
40/1(-82%) | (6) Ryefield 40/1, Struggled on soft ground from the widest stall, finishing down the field in a nursery at Pontefract most recently; effective at 6f, acts on good to soft but not softer; ground again a concern. Runner-up in Pontefract maiden last month and wide draw was costly in nursery there latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (16/1 -14%)Flash Rascal |
16/1(-14%) | (5) Flash Rascal 16/1, Small improvement on first run since gelding and wind operations when beaten 2l off 67 at Yarmouth last time; second run after wind operation; effective at 5-6f, acts on a sound surface, probably not good to soft; small, stocky colt and others likelier. Encouraging fourth on recent nursery debut and may be able to build on that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (4/1 -14%)Up The Agenda |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Up The Agenda 4/1, Liked slower ground, showing a good attitude on first run after gelding operation to land a handicap by a neck off 66 over 7f at Yarmouth last time; cheekpieces first time; effective at 7f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; could be more to come in added cheekpieces. Favourite when winning on nursery debut at Yarmouth and he's up just 2lb; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (12/1 -33%)Runamara |
12/1(-33%) | (3) Runamara 12/1, Wide trip and again below form when beaten 7l in a nursery over 5f at Chelmsford last time; effective at 5-6f; acts on soft; bit to prove after twice being well held in nurseries. Won soft-ground maiden at Bath last month but soundly beaten in two nurseries since. |

STARTLED has shown promise in three starts on the all-weather since being gelded and reverts to turf with solid claims from a workable rating. Forced to race wide throughout at Lingfield on his latest start, that effort can be upgraded and Billy Loughnane takes over in the saddle. Yarmouth winner Up The Agenda also rates a serious player with cheekpieces added, while Mad Unicorn and Madman are others with appealing profiles to consider.

Having endured a wide trip at Lingfield last month, STARTLED did well to cling on for a close fourth and can get off the mark today.

1st (4) (3/1 +50%)Kit's Coty |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Kit's Coty 3/1, Raced freely when taken on up front and was comfortably held in a handicap chase at Huntingdon last time. With her trainer in form, she could be in the mix. Just behind Another Day Out in this last year; didn't kick on, but wind since operated on.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/2 -63%)Another Day Out |
13/2(-63%) | (1) Another Day Out 13/2, Needed the run when 28l third in a handicap chase here on her latest start. Enjoys racing prominently and is effective from 2½m to 3m, though currently in moderate form. C&D scorer; nose second in this last year, but now 12lb worse off with Kit's Coty.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 -14%)Trapista |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Trapista 4/1, Kept to modest form when 11l third in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Stratford on her latest run. Effective around 2½m but currently out of form. 3-26 over fences with one 2m4f win here (good); not sure step up to 3m rates a plus.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (2/1 -14%)Mini Fortune |
2/1(-14%) | (5) Mini Fortune 2/1, Won easily when improving to land a handicap by 9½l off a mark of 71 at Ffos Las last time. Stays 3m well, acts on good ground and looks well treated on her point win. Likely to follow up. Ready Ffos Las winner last week (3m, good); 1lb well in, but penalised mark asks more.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (40/1 -789%)Loud And Proud |
40/1(-789%) | (2) Loud And Proud 40/1, Well backed and ran to form when second, beaten 15l in a handicap chase at Fakenham last time, possibly finding something amiss late on. Has a small chance. Turned over at 1-9 in a match when last seen in April; sold out of Harry Derham's since.. |

A confident vote goes to MINI FORTUNE, who could not have done it any easier at Ffos Las last week and a 7lb penalty for that success is largely offset by 5lb claimer Callum Pritchard taking over in the saddle. Now with new connections and an easy winner at Doncaster on her penultimate start, Loud And Proud must be noted on her return. Another Day Out can step forward from her distant third over C&D most recently.

If she responds the right way to her wind operation, KIT'S COTY can get her chasing career back on track ahead of Mini Fortune.

1st (3) (8/1 -7%)Fortune Timmy |
8/1(-7%) | (3) Fortune Timmy 8/1, Promising effort when runner-up, beaten 3/4l in a maiden over 3m at Tinahely on only start. Returns from a long layoff and showed plenty in that 3m point, suggesting he can make an impact over hurdles. Bought for £40,000 soon after going close on Irish point debut in January; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -75%)Doctor On Call |
7/2(-75%) | (2) Doctor On Call 7/2, Quickened clear comfortably to win a bumper over 2m at Hereford by 3/4l on debut. Returns from a long layoff. A bumper winner bred to stay further over hurdles, with more expected for top connections. Beat a next-time-time winner on bumper debut at Hereford; good hurdling prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (28/1 -273%)Ben Cruachan |
28/1(-273%) | (1) Ben Cruachan 28/1, 15,000 euros Lauro gelding; half-brother to Punchers Path, fair at 22f; may just need this experience. Out of half-sister to useful chaser Bambi De L'Orme; makes belated debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (3/1 +60%)Nazare |
3/1(+60%) | (7) Nazare 3/1, Ran to a similar level as his bumper form, just flattening out late when third, beaten 29l in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Newbury on latest run. Looks the pick on race times. Bumper winner; well held when third on hurdling debut but this race looks easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (7/4 +71%)Silver Hill |
7/4(+71%) | (8) Silver Hill 7/4, Raced lazily but ran to form up in grade when fourth, beaten 9l in a 2m bumper at Sandown last time. Trainer in form, and the 2m bumper winner should improve for a step up in trip over hurdles. Won on bumper debut and was fourth in a good race on next outing; player on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 -80%)Kool Kid |
6/1(-80%) | (5) Kool Kid 6/1, Bit keen but made a very promising debut when winning a bumper at Hereford over 2m by a length last time. Returns from a long layoff. That bumper win has been boosted, and his point form suggests further will suit over hurdles. Hereford bumper winner on rules debut in February; must be considered on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (25/1 -127%)Name Me Nicely |
25/1(-127%) | (6) Name Me Nicely 25/1, Raced wide on a promising bumper debut, beaten 8l in a 2m bumper at Ffos Las last time. Further than 2m should suit over hurdles, but he needs to find more. Just a respectable sixth in Ffos Las bumper on rules debut; improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (80/1 -60%)Ted The Thief |
80/1(-60%) | (9) Ted The Thief 80/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when fourth, beaten 50l in a maiden hurdle over 1m7f at Wincanton last time. A 3m point winner who should appreciate a step up in trip but may need handicaps to be seen to best effect. Point winner in February but tailed off in two maiden hurdles in March; stable debut. |

DOCTOR ON CALL made a good impression to score on his bumper debut at Hereford last December and is a half-brother to smart hurdles/chase winner Martator. The five-year-old looks to have been found a good starting point over timber and will prove hard to beat. Fortune Timmy finished second between the flags in January before changing hands for 40,000 pounds and warrants a market check. Kool Kid completes the shortlist.

One of four bumper winners in the line-up, NAZARE ought to find this easier than the Newbury novice hurdle he contested in March.

1st (4) (2/9 +44%)Irish Panther |
2/9(+44%) | (4) Irish Panther 2/9, Improved on recent form when dropped in grade and appreciated a stronger pace, finishing a 2¼l third in the Killashee Hotel Handicap Hurdle (Listed) at Punchestown. Trainer in form; usually held up; speed and form selection. Decent form in handicaps, stands out in this company on his Punchestown festival third. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 -20%)In The Trenches |
3/1(-20%) | (3) In The Trenches 3/1, Returned to form when second, beaten 10l, in a handicap chase over 2m2f at Cork last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m, suited by good ground, and a consistent maiden over hurdles and fences. Has run 28 times without winning, runner-up over hurdles on seven occasions, vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (50/1 +67%)Come Home Sonny |
50/1(+67%) | (2) Come Home Sonny 50/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Limerick last time and wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective over about 2½m but has a fair bit to prove at present. Poor completion rate in points, weak hurdles form, pulled up on Sunday, cheekpieces on now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (50/1 -52%)Ballyredinkingston |
50/1(-52%) | (1) Ballyredinkingston 50/1, Green and made mistakes when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Tipperary on his latest start. Showed minor promise in bumpers, acts on good ground, and will need to improve significantly on that debut effort. Second in a point-to-point, some ability in bumpers, struggled on recent hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 +44%)Something Simple |
28/1(+44%) | (7) Something Simple 28/1, Outpaced and modest on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Listowel last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective 2m1f–2m2f on good or soft ground but needs to find improvement to figure. Placed in a small-field bumper, remote sixth on hurdling debut at Listowel, up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (80/1 -21%)Youneedabitofluck |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Youneedabitofluck 80/1, Modest on hurdle debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Gowran Park on his only start. Has plenty to prove at this stage. Staying pedigree, big price when never in contention on debut at Gowran, can be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (40/1 +20%)Lord Lackendarra |
40/1(+20%) | (6) Lord Lackendarra 40/1, Far too keen and comfortably held in a Ladies bumper over 2m at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2m and handles any ground but inconsistent in bumpers, leaving him with a bit to prove. Well exposed in bumpers, placed twice from nine attempts, lacks hurdling experience. |

IRISH PANTHER can get his turn having shown strong form last season. Lightly raced for his age, his initial bumper efforts were smart and although an eight-race maiden over hurdles, he was twice placed at Listed level last season and was also beaten just seven lengths in Cheltenham's County Hurdle. Ground-versatile, he makes his seasonal reappearance under his regular 7lb claimer. In The Trenches is enormously frustrating, having finished second on 12 occasions without ever winning. Although race-fit and ready for battle, he'll probably finish second again. Kentucky Beach's form suggests he will take third.

This looks straightforward for IRISH PANTHER who ran in the County Hurdle and signed off with a fine third at the Punchestown festival

Effective at 6-7f, acts on good ground and has a bit to prove. Won a three-runner C&D maiden in July; well held on handicap debut; now tries blinkers. |

2nd (15) (9/1 +18%)Wichahpi |
9/1(+18%) | (15) Wichahpi 9/1, Below best but with excuses when beaten 9l in a handicap at Leicester last time. Enjoys making the running. Suited by 6-7f and acts on any going, especially with give. Inconsistent of late. Second to Annie Edson Taylor at Hamilton last month but below that level twice since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (16) (11/1 +31%)Count D'orsay |
11/1(+31%) | (16) Count D'orsay 11/1, Yard won this last year. Took a step back in the right direction when fourth beaten 4l in a Leicester handicap latest. Effective at 6f, needs some give and remains on a workable mark. 0-11 this year but down the weights and slow ground suits him well; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/2 +46%)Tiriac |
7/2(+46%) | (5) Tiriac 7/2, Always behind from a wide draw when down the field in a Pontefract handicap most recently. In good form before that and usually held up. Suited by 5-6f and acts on any going, with excuses for the latest effort. Dangerous mark; promising Beverley run and had excuses at Pontefract latest; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 -113%)Safari Dream |
16/1(-113%) | (2) Safari Dream 16/1, Ran to form when closing late, beaten 2l off a mark of 70 at Salisbury last time. Effective at 5-6f and acts on any going. Likely needed that run. Completed a hat-trick earlier in the summer; solid effort latest; rain won't be an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/1 +61%)Hiatus |
7/1(+61%) | (3) Hiatus 7/1, Never going the pace when beaten 8l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time. Suited by 6f, likes some give on turf and drops back down in grade. Two low-key runs back from a break but he goes well on soft ground and could revive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 +0%)Albert Cee |
16/1(+0%) | (9) Albert Cee 16/1, Again below form when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Leicester last time. Effective at 6-7f and acts on good to soft ground. Largely regressive on recent evidence. Dropped a long way in the weights & latest run more encouraging; others still appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (12/1 -33%)Kalik |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Kalik 12/1, Below form when beaten 9l in a handicap at Newmarket (July) last time. Off a short break. Effective at 5-6f and acts on soft and good ground, but has something to prove on recent efforts. Easy win on soft ground in June but well held three times since; needs a full revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (17) (13/2 +68%)I Need Your Love |
13/2(+68%) | (17) I Need Your Love 13/2, No headgear and quickly beaten off when down the field in a Pontefract handicap most recently. In good form prior. Effective at 5-6f, acts on heavy and good ground, refitted visor could help. Conditions should suit; below par latest but without his usual headgear (back on today). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (15/2 +46%)Annie Edson Taylor |
15/2(+46%) | (13) Annie Edson Taylor 15/2, Scored by 1 1/4l off 61 at Hamilton three starts back. Below best back on drier ground when sixth last time. Effective at 5-6f, acts on good ground and goes well with cut; return to soft should help. Running well since fitted with blinkers but she will need more progress to defy this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (4/1 +50%)Bay Breeze |
4/1(+50%) | (7) Bay Breeze 4/1, Won this race last year. Produced best run since the spring in first-time blinkers when beaten 1 1/4l off 69 at Hamilton last time. Suited by 6f and acts on any going but prefers some give. Chance if blinkers work again. Won this race last year off 1lb lower; good second at Hamilton last month; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (25/1 -25%)Ann Terry |
25/1(-25%) | (6) Ann Terry 25/1, Never involved when down in trip on all-weather debut, beaten 9l in a 5f handicap at Newcastle last time. Blinkers first time and returning from a break. Effective at 6f, acts on good and heavy going, return to soft turf may suit. Struggled in two sprint handicaps in 2025; new blinkers/slower ground not enough to tempt. |

BAY BREEZE seemed revitalised by the first-time blinkers when second at Hamilton and could be worth chancing in his bid for back-to-back wins in this race off just 1lb higher than when successful last year. Bill Plumb is an obvious threat under a 5lb penalty after last week's strike at Yarmouth. With first-time cheekpieces complementing a tongue-tie, he could find even more. Willolarupi and Ziggy's Queen are others with claims.

Conditions should be ideal for TIRIAC (nap) and he can confirm the promise of his penultimate run. Count D'Orsay is feared most.

7/2(+83%) | (4) La Lolita 7/2, Disappointing when stepped up in trip, comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee last time but suited by good ground. Third behind eased-down Celestron Star in August (2m, good); didn't see out further since.. |

5/4(-150%) | (1) Celestron Star 5/4, Went clear with ease, improving from her debut when dropped in trip to win a maiden hurdle at Worcester over 2m by 6 1/2l last time. Off a short break and useful in bumpers, she is suited by a sound surface and progressing over hurdles. Way too good for La Lolita at Worcester latest (2m, good); longer trip ought to suit.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 +79%)Ask Peter |
3/1(+79%) | (3) Ask Peter 3/1, Ran to form but tired late when stepped up in trip after a break on handicap debut, well beaten in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester. Likes to make the running, may prefer easier ground, and should come on for the reappearance. Fading 12l seventh on recent handicap debut (33-1), having made most; limited appeal.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/1 -100%)Dothejive |
5/1(-100%) | (2) Dothejive 5/1, Outpaced but very promising on debut, aided by a late faller when landing a maiden hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee over 2m4f by 2l last time. Returning from a break and effective over 2 1/2m on good ground, she should improve for further. Arguably fortunate Bangor hurdles debut winner (2m3f, good); jumping needs to improve.. |

A taking winner over 2m at Worcester, CELESTRON STAR looked like a mare on top of her game and stepping up in trip could eke out further improvement in the five-year-old. A tad lucky to score at Bangor, Dothejive is still open to further progression and should be thereabouts. Ask Peter has yet to put it together since joining Anthony Honeyball, but the rise in distance may aid her cause.

Unextended in winning at Worcester last time and set to appreciate this longer trip, CELESTRON STAR is taken ahead of Dothejive.

7/2(+61%) | (4) Lord Maher 7/2, Disappointing when stepped up in trip, comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Stratford last time; most effective around 2m but inconsistent. Ran much better than 31l defeat suggests at Stratford this month; considered each-way. |

4/6(+0%) | (6) Grain Trade 4/6, Improved when stepped up in trip, winning comfortably by 6l off 79 over 2m3f at Market Rasen last time; effective around 2½m, suited by a sound surface and progressing over fences. Won comfortably by 6l at Market Rasen last week, his second chase; 5lb well in here. |

10/1(-67%) | (7) Yarborough 10/1, Briefly threatened but possibly failed to stay when fourth beaten 9l in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton last time; effective 10-12f performer on the Flat, drop to 2m should suit now handicapping over hurdles. Modest Flat maiden; has shown some aptitude for hurdling but looks risky on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (10/1 +29%)Valirann Gold |
10/1(+29%) | (5) Valirann Gold 10/1, Failed to stay and found ground bit quick when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m4f at Cheltenham last time; looks the pick on race times but may just need this. Course winner in 2024; back from break on workable mark; probably better over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (18/1 +28%)Mega Speculator |
18/1(+28%) | (2) Mega Speculator 18/1, Keen and made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Newton Abbot last time; needed the run and has yet to show much over hurdles. Well held in selling handicap hurdle on recent stable debut; now makes chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (300/1 -200%)Across The Ocean |
300/1(-200%) | (8) Across The Ocean 300/1, Refused in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Market Rasen last time; hood on for the first time and remains out of form for his new yard. Refused to race when a 300-1 outsider at Market Rasen this month; makes no appeal. |

Dunskay sports a first-time tongue-tie on his handicap/chase bow and also takes a step up in trip, so he is one to watch out for. Lord Maher competes off a career-low rating and is noted, but the vote goes to GRAIN TRADE. The six-year-old struck in ready fashion by six lengths at Market Rasen last week and a 7lb penalty is unlikely to prevent him from following up, especially with the Billy Aprahamian stable in such great form.

Recent winner Grain Trade has a poor record on slow ground and is opposed with chase/handicap debutant DUNSKAY.

5th (6) (7/1 -250%)Hickeys Hill |
7/1(-250%) | (6) Hickeys Hill 7/1, Improved when benefitting from a strong pace down in trip, landing a handicap by 3/4l off 82 over 2m at Fairyhouse last time. Effective over 2m and likely to get further in time; improving at a modest level. Point winner, left previous hurdles form behind to win at Fairyhouse, top rider booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (16/1 -33%)Stonecarthy |
16/1(-33%) | (8) Stonecarthy 16/1, Outpaced and disappointing when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Cork most recent. 7th (5) (16/1 +20%)Flashthelights |
16/1(+20%) | (5) Flashthelights 16/1, Outpaced and found the test inadequate when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Downpatrick latest. Effective from 2m to 2½m and needs a stiffer track at this trip; currently in poor form. Won twice on good ground last year, a long way best in his two 2025 outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (28/1 -155%)Wayside Lady |
28/1(-155%) | (4) Wayside Lady 28/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 6l, in a handicap over 1m5f at Thurles latest. A regressive maiden in both codes. Very modest on the Flat, sharpened by two Flat runs since joining this stable, may improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (12/1 +25%)Boston Bongo |
12/1(+25%) | (13) Boston Bongo 12/1, Had every chance but was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Downpatrick last time. A frustrating maiden who may need some give in the ground. Placed only once from 14 starts over hurdles, soundly beaten in fifth on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (50/1 -127%)East Cork Flyer |
50/1(-127%) | (7) East Cork Flyer 50/1, Outpaced and never involved when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Tramore latest. Usually held up; effective at 2m over hurdles but has shown little in that discipline so far. Weak maiden form, pedigree implies a likely preference for longer distances. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (25/1 -25%)Howayahoney |
25/1(-25%) | (9) Howayahoney 25/1, Made mistakes and ran poorly, finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Listowel most recent. Yet to show anything in maidens over 2m on good ground. Hard to make a case for her, yard was in outstanding form for the Listowel festival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (28/1 +15%)Jessie's Dreamgirl |
28/1(+15%) | (1) Jessie's Dreamgirl 28/1, Made mistakes and showed greenness when needing the run, finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Killarney last time. Effective over 2m on good ground; yet to build on a promising debut and must bounce back now handicapping. Struggled on handicap/stable debut, talented young point-to-point rider claims useful 7lb. |

Point-to-point winner HICKEYS HILL scored on his handicap debut and can defy a 6lb rise. A winner at Quakerstown last November, his initial hurdles form was ordinary but, switching to handicaps with a rating of 82, finished well to beat 15 rivals at Fairyhouse and going an extra furlong should suit. No Big Deal is a 17-race maiden, but all his best form has come in recent months. Three times a runner-up and placed third on another occasion, he is sure to again run well. Three-time hurdles winner Flashthelights should benefit from his recent reappearance run.

A sequence of placing on the Flat and over hurdles makes NO BIG DEAL an attractive proposition against less dependable rivals

Won under Lauren Young at Musselburgh last Monday and respected under a penalty. |

16/1(+0%) | (4) Ruler Legend 16/1, Improved up in trip when beaten 2 1/4l off 69 at Pontefract last time but may have been flattered; effective from 12-18f and suited by plenty of cut, though not certain to repeat that form. 9/4(+55%) | (5) Action Pact 9/4, Improved for the extreme test when winning a handicap by 2 1/4l off 65 at Pontefract last time; stays 2m2f well and acts on soft and good ground; more to come over this sort of trip. Travelled well when off the mark at Pontefract; may well have more left in the tank. |

7th (8) (10/3 +17%)Both Of Us |
10/3(+17%) | (8) Both Of Us 10/3, Improved for a big step up in trip when landing a 2m handicap by 4 1/2l off 62 at Newcastle last time; trainer in form; effective from 12-16f and has more to come as a stayer. Progressive 3yo who powered clear close home over 2m at Newcastle a fortnight ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (150/1 -200%)Majestic Leo |
150/1(-200%) | (6) Majestic Leo 150/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Fontwell latest; decent run in cheekpieces when last seen on the Flat in June; effective at 10f but has a bit to prove over this sort of trip. Pulled up in juvenile hurdles on last 2 runs and may be best watched now back on the Flat. |

Impressive on the step up to this extreme distance at Pontefract earlier in the month, ACTION PACT is likely to improve plenty following that success and a 3lb rise could prove lenient for the son of Golden Horn. A highly progressive sort of late, with three wins in his last five starts, Both Of Us is capable of being in the shake-up again. Trojan Sun displayed a willing attitude when holding on narrowly to score at Musselburgh recently.

This could be between the thriving 3yos BOTH OF US and Rupert The Prince. Both Of Us powered clear at Newcastle last time.

Twice fell over hurdles but ran well for a long way on recent chase debut at Southwell. |

YES DAY looked to be getting into contention when falling four out over C&D and he may be able to gain compensation off the same mark. Twice a winner last season, he relishes quick ground and is preferred to the returning Histrionic, who is a point-to-point winner so has plenty of potential on his debut in this sphere. Due to go up 3lb after his success over hurdles at Ffos Las last week, D'jo Dela Barriere is another to note on the switch back to chasing.

Histrionic is respected but YES DAY is already a dual winner over fences and was returning to form when falling here 15 days ago.

5/1(+58%) | (7) Ask Her Out 5/1, Probably failed to stay when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f here most recently; usually held up and looks one of the picks on race times but unreliable. Not nearly so good on her two runs since a December win and she's been off for a while. |

5/2(+44%) | (4) Everest 5/2, Pulled too hard in first-time headgear and was well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Plumpton latest; has more to come on bumper form and likely to stay a bit further than 2m. Failed to settle when disappointing last time and she goes over even further now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (16/1 -129%)Yanka Blue |
16/1(-129%) | (3) Yanka Blue 16/1, Ran to form but seemed unsuited by the shorter trip when fourth beaten 17l in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time; modest in bumpers and may need at least 2 1/2m over hurdles. Latest novice was won by a good horse and she could easily raise her profile in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (9/4 +0%)Plus Point |
9/4(+0%) | (2) Plus Point 9/4, Had too much to do when staying on to finish second beaten 3 1/2l in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Worcester last time; more to come in handicaps based on her Flat form. Three-time Flat winner; improved for step up to 2m4f when second at Worcester latest (May). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (250/1 -400%)Pate Mollee |
250/1(-400%) | (5) Pate Mollee 250/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Huntingdon last time; effective at 2m in France but yet to show anything for her new yard and may prefer easier ground. Nearly won a hurdle race in France but has accomplished little since arriving in Britain. |

Plus Point produced a better effort when second at Worcester in May and makes her handicap debut in this sphere on her return to action. However, HELLO CELLO finished third in this grade over the same C&D in June and is now 1lb lower. If ready to go, she could be the one to beat. Clear Storm showed promise prior to falling at Market Rasen in July and is another to keep an eye on.

Fair Flat performer PLUS POINT showed improved form in her final run over hurdles and she could be entering handicaps off a handy mark.

12/1(+0%) | (15) Moonlight Paradise 12/1, Very promising effort when a 1l winner in a maiden over 3m at Tattersalls Farm on debut; 2m4f looks a good starting point over hurdles. Point winner (form has worked out); market should be a guide on back of 5 months off. |

250/1(-279%) | (7) Ida Picked Her 250/1, Outpaced and poor on hurdle debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Kilbeggan; has a lot to prove. Was 50-1 and beaten a long way out on her debut at Kilbeggan last month; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (300/1 -200%)Annie Grey |
300/1(-200%) | (1) Annie Grey 300/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m2f at Downpatrick last time; cheekpieces on for the first time and likely to need more time and 2 1/2m. Shown very little in three starts at huge odds in maiden hurdles so far; new yard. |

LAU AND SHAZ should benefit from her recent reappearance and was useful last season. Placed three times in bumpers, she now contests her third hurdle race and although nicely held at Listowel, that was a smart maiden and she drops to a more manageable race. Music Of Life was beaten a neck at Listowel and ran nicely at Roscommon eight days later, but might struggle to beat the selection. Courtmac Gesture finished fifth in a Listed bumper recently but debuts over jumps, while Clarnagh Maid was soundly beaten by a debutant stablemate at Tipperary. Moonlight Paradise was bought for 60,000 pounds after defeating a subsequent bumper winner in a point-to-point last May, while her reappearing stable companion Two Pair also debuts over timber.

The tentative vote goes to MUSIC OF LIFE who has produced back-to-back career bests for her new yard and sets the standard on form

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (9/2 -64%)Wrydcroft |
9/2(-64%) | (11) Wrydcroft 9/2, Readily followed up in a race that fell apart, landing a handicap by 4 1/4l off 51 over 7f at Leicester last time; effective 6-7f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; progressive but faces a tougher task up significantly in the weights. 2-2 in h'caps; did it easily last time and a 10lb rise may not stop this progressive 3yo. |

125/1(-400%) | (4) Fabuleuse 125/1, Always behind, may still have needed the run when down the field in a handicap over 7f at Chelmsford last time; yet to show anything in two runs for this yard. Soft-ground French winner; market check advised but she's yet to shine in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (9/4 +81%)Joe Masseria |
9/4(+81%) | (5) Joe Masseria 9/4, Well held from a stiff mark when beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap over 7f at Newcastle last time; wide draw; off a short break; effective 7-10f, best form in Ireland with give; regressive but return to soft may help. He's struggled this year but has a dangerous mark for this stable debut; monitor betting. |

80/1(-186%) | (15) Hot Talent 80/1, Slightly better than result down in trip and tried in cheekpieces when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Yarmouth last time; slightly better latest but soft ground is new. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (66/1 -164%)Bizou |
66/1(-164%) | (10) Bizou 66/1, Struggled on deep ground when down the field in a handicap at Bath most recent; effective at 8f, acts on sound surface; bounce back needed and ground a concern. Close third on handicap debut at Kempton in May but unable to kick on subsequently. |

Lost In Wonder has failed to land too much of a blow in three starts in maiden/novice company, but could prove a different proposition on her handicap bow. Even so, the hat-trick seeking WRYDCROFT looks the way to go. Pam Sly's gelding hasn't looked back since competing in the handicap ranks and struck in comfortable style at Leicester, with the extra furlong here not posing any fears. Last-time-out Ayr scorer Oilisa is another to note.

Wrydcroft and OILISA are 3yos with recent winning form who could have more to offer, with preference for Oilisa.

5/4(+50%) | (1) Prince De Juilley 5/4, Won this race last year and returned to form when benefiting from first-time visor, winning a handicap by 4l off 100 over 2m6f at Stratford last time. Yet to convince as a chaser but in form over hurdles and suited by 3m on good ground. Won this off 100 last year and defied the same mark at Stratford on Saturday; chance.. |

40/1(+39%) | (6) Needtoknow 40/1, Outpaced but showed some improvement up in trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time. Effective at 2m6f and may do better over 3m, though yet to show much overall. Longer trip looks the way to go judged on outpaced handicap debut, but still lots to find.. |

3/1(-50%) | (4) Touchwoodexpress 3/1, Improved under a positive ride when stepped up in trip back over hurdles, landing a handicap by 3l off 94 over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time. Effective at 3m on good ground; jumping an issue over fences but progressive over hurdles. Newton Abbot winner latest (3m2f, good); hugely unexposed as a handicap hurdler.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (14/1 -115%)Arctic Angel |
14/1(-115%) | (5) Arctic Angel 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Cartmel last time. Returning from a break and has a bit to find. Newton Abbot winner in June (3m2f) but stopped quickly latest; cheekpieces discarded.. |

TOUCHWOODEXPRESS, Tankardstown Diva and Prince De Juilley are all bidding to complete doubles, but preference is for the first-named. The Twiston-Davies' charge appreciated the return to this discipline when going in by three lengths at Newton Abbot and might have been let off lightly with just a 2lb rise. Prince De Juilley showed improvement in a first-time visor to score at Stratford, but blinkers being reapplied raises a question mark.

One of three last-time handicap winners, TOUCHWOODEXPRESS (nap) is comfortably the least exposed. Tankardstown Diva is next best.

3rd (1) (11/4 -22%)George's Lad |
11/4(-22%) | (1) George's Lad 11/4, Fell in the Betfair NH Novice Handicap Hurdle Final over 2m4f at Sandown last time when may have placed. 13/2(+0%) | (6) Aggagio 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 1½l off 83 over 2m at Goodwood last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time after a short break. 9/2(-13%) | (2) Goodwin 9/2, Won by 5l off 112 here on his penultimate start. Ran to form when fourth, beaten 7¼l off 119 last time after doing plenty early and setting it up for a closer. 9/4(+75%) | (5) Kamaxos 9/4, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; a value selection on balance of form. Not at best last season but makes stable debut from a good mark and has had a wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (125/1 -89%)Gold Souk |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Gold Souk 125/1, Found little when beaten 7l in a 2m handicap at Kempton last time. Returning from a break; effective over 2m hurdles but out of form on the flat since coming back from a layoff. Out of form on the Flat this year and 12lb wrong on first hurdling start since 2023. |

Preparations are approaching full swing at the in-form Paul Nicholls yard and the multiple champion trainer has another key player in the returning PASO DOBLE. The eight-year-old has won when fresh in the past and he can exploit a handy rating back over hurdles. George's Lad was still in the mix when he fell in the EBF Final at Sandown and merits close inspection resuming at this level. Goodwin, a C&D winner on his penultimate start, completes the shortlist.

Topweight GEORGE'S LAD (nap) ran very well before his final-flight fall in a hot novices' handicap in March and can improve this season

7/1(+0%) | (2) Portnacoo 7/1, Returned to form when fourth, beaten 12l, in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park after a break, just tiring late. Effective between 2m and 2½m and acts on soft and good ground. Latest win at Carlisle in Feb' and signs of a revival at Gowran on yard debut latest. |

Progressive four-year-old ELUSIVE OGIE finished a good third in a smart renewal of the Lartigue Hurdle last month. A maiden winner in May, at Listowel he finished behind runner-up Puturhandstogether - a Cheltenham Festival winner who subsequently bagged the valuable Irish Cesarewitch. Union Park hasn't won for almost two years but can benefit from his recent reappearance, when he was hampered. An able 123-rated chaser, he contested some smart races in that sphere last season and has a light weight. Rexem landed an ordinary claimer here recently and his rider now claims 7lb.

There were promising signs that PORTNACOO was getting back on track earlier this month and he should be competitive from this mark

6/1(+20%) | (2) Dreams Adozen 6/1, Scored by 2 1/4l off 71 over 2m2f at Musselburgh three starts back; back to form in a reapplied visor last time; enjoys making the running; stays really well, acts on any ground, and soft going will help now down in trip. Didn't see out the stiff finish over 2m2f at Pontefract last time; she's not discounted. |

2nd (9) (16/1 +20%)Cynthia |
16/1(+20%) | (9) Cynthia 16/1, Disappointing when comfortably held in a 12f handicap at Haydock last time; effective at 12f on a sound surface and normally consistent. Went close on handicap debut at Leicester in July but hasn't been at the same level since. |

3rd (1) (9/2 -140%)Spartan Times |
9/2(-140%) | (1) Spartan Times 9/2, Improved again down in grade when landing a handicap by 3l off 67 over 10f at Redcar last time; effective over 11-12f, acts on good to soft and good ground; in very good form on the Flat, unexposed over jumps. Four Flat wins this season (1m2f/1m3f); stamina to prove but has to be respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 +44%)Kotari |
9/2(+44%) | (5) Kotari 9/2, Found wanting for pace down in trip on drier ground when beaten 4l in an 11f handicap at Windsor last time; blinkers on for the first time; effective from 10-14f and may prefer testing ground at shorter trips; added headgear could help. Regressive campaign but has dropped down the weights; not ruled out now in blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (2/1 +78%)Sawgrass |
2/1(+78%) | (6) Sawgrass 2/1, Below her best, getting behind after an awkward start when beaten 6 1/4l in a 2m handicap at Ripon last time; effective at 14-16f; acts on good to firm and good to soft ground; needs a hold-up ride and could bounce back. Below par last time but failed to settle; progressive previously and retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 +9%)Whatcombe |
20/1(+9%) | (4) Whatcombe 20/1, Ran no sort of race on stable and handicap debut, well beaten in a 10f handicap at Sandown latest; cheekpieces on for the first time after a short break; effective at 8f and should stay further; acts on heavy ground; needs headgear to work. Lightly raced 3yo who has shown promise but needs to get back on track on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 -47%)Karthala |
11/1(-47%) | (7) Karthala 11/1, Not far off his best up in trip in added cheekpieces when beaten 1 1/4l off 67 over 11f at Yarmouth last time; blinkers replace cheekpieces; effective up to 12f, acts on good and good to soft ground, and has potential as a stayer. Kept on for second over 11.4f at Yarmouth recently and could improve again now at 1m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (15/2 -15%)Hebridean Nomad |
15/2(-15%) | (3) Hebridean Nomad 15/2, May have needed the run back from a break on turf debut when fourth, beaten 7l in a handicap at Salisbury latest; trainer in form; effective around 12f, not really proven over further; acts on good ground; ground a query now. Returned from break to finish fourth of 11 at Salisbury and could build on that effort. |

It's a bit of a surprise that Karthala sports first-time blinkers after showing a nice amount of improvement with the application of cheekpieces when second at Yarmouth, but he still has to be respected. The booking of Billy Loughnane on Sawgrass is noteworthy, but SPARTAN TIMES gets the nod. The son of Frontiersman readily returned to winning ways over 1m2f at Redcar and, despite the considerable rise in trip, he will prove hard to beat.

Karthala could relish the step up in trip but this could go to another 3yo in WESTLAIN, who also looks to have plenty of stamina.

2nd (5) (17/2 +29%)Isabel De Clare |
17/2(+29%) | (5) Isabel De Clare 17/2, Improved on recent form but just tired late on when up in trip, well beaten in a 3m1f handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time; effective at 2½m and prefers some cut in the ground. Ten-race maiden who is struggling to gain a foothold in handicaps. |

11/4(+17%) | (3) Briery Butterfly 11/4, Well backed and ran to form, just flattening out late when beaten 3½l off 89 here last time; may be competitive again. Well-bred mare who ran better than before when fourth over C&D in April; same mark. |

5/2(+44%) | (7) Matchadam 5/2, Outpaced and in need of the run when unsuited by a drop in trip, finishing fourth beaten 11l in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Southwell last time; trainer in form and wants further. May need further, though he has undergone a wind operation; might yet be capable of better. |

5th (1) (16/1 -167%)Bossofthebus |
16/1(-167%) | (1) Bossofthebus 16/1, Probably will not stay after being comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Kilbeggan last time; has a bit to find starting out for new yard. 1-12 in Ireland; probably best watched on yard debut after a £12,000 sale. |

|F| (4) (15/2 -67%)Olivia Kate |
15/2(-67%) | (4) Olivia Kate 15/2, Made mistakes and looked a bit awkward, having too much to do in a race dominated from the front; unsuited by the drop in trip when beaten 5½l in a 2m handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time flying home; prefers 2½m, acts on any ground and can build on that effort. Ran okay after a break at Chepstow (2m, good) and returns to a better trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (4/1 +60%)Ebony Jade |
4/1(+60%) | (6) Ebony Jade 4/1, Made mistakes and needed the run on chase debut, not looking a natural when comfortably held in a 2m4f handicap chase at Hexham last time; cheekpieces applied for the first time and needs to find more. No form in three runs for another yard since moving to Britain; new trainer tries headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (100/1 -100%)Believe A Little |
100/1(-100%) | (8) Believe A Little 100/1, Made mistakes and was disappointing on handicap debut when comfortably held in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Stratford last time; cheekpieces fitted for the first time; yet to show much and has looked awkward. Off correct mark this time and tried in cheekpieces, but easy to have reservations. |

Olivia Kate's sole career success came over C&D and she may strip fitter for her reappearance fifth over an inadequate trip at Chepstow earlier this month. However, MATCHADAM was well fancied when only fourth at Southwell in May and has since undergone a wind operation. With the Tom Lacey string in fine order and the possibility of more to come on just his third handicap outing, he looks the one to side with. Briery Butterfly isn't ruled out either.

He may want further but MATCHADAM has had a wind operation since failing favourite backers last time and he's given another chance.

5/1(-25%) | (1) Record High 5/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Ffos Las last time; suited by 3m on testing ground but can be inconsistent. C&D winner in February; would appeal more on slower ground but Sean Bowen is booked. |

3rd (3) (17/2 +23%)Lough Owel |
17/2(+23%) | (3) Lough Owel 17/2, Ran to the level of his debut form when second, beaten 14l, in a handicap chase here last time; effective over 3m on good ground and should come on for that run. No match for clear winners when second on last two outing but still ran well both times. |

6/5(+52%) | (8) Of Corse I Can 6/5, Ran to form, showing a willing attitude after a late error when landing a handicap by 1/4l off 73 at Newton Abbot last time; effective over 3m on good ground and remains well treated escaping penalty in hat trick bid. Won over C&D this month escapes penalty for follow-up success at Newton Abbot on Saturday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 -33%)Grand Sabre |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Grand Sabre 16/1, Far too keen when fourth, beaten 41l, in a handicap chase at Newton Abbot last time; returning from a break and needs to improve. Stayed on dourly for surprise win in May; quickly back in the doldrums on next outing. |

|PU| (2) (11/1 -100%)Leading Swoop |
11/1(-100%) | (2) Leading Swoop 11/1, Below form when 20l third in a handicap chase at Plumpton on his most recent start; needs to improve. Runs this track well but returns from 203-day break on fairly tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (28/1 -331%)Ballintara |
28/1(-331%) | (4) Ballintara 28/1, Rallied gamely and ran to form, proving his previous win was no fluke when landing a handicap by a neck off 83 here last time; could figure. Teenager; won twice in the spring (once over C&D); back from five-month break today. |

OF CORSE I CAN has improved since stepping back up in trip and being sent chasing. From a very workable mark, the eight-year-old can take another step forward to complete a three-timer, with stylish claimer Bradley Harris retaining the ride. Record High was a C&D winner in February and has a decent chance off just 4lb higher. Ballintara and Grand Sabre are others to consider.

Bottomweight OF CORSE I CAN displayed a willing attitude when winning twice this month (once over C&D) and is still on a good mark.

8/11(+34%) | (1) Nara 8/11, Unseated in the Munster National Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m at Limerick last time. The top jockey returns to the saddle. Effective from 2m to 2½m; won a weak Graded contest but has had jumping issues. Failed to complete last twice after errors inc' early unseat Monday; Gr2 winner in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/1 +30%)Ad Caelum |
7/1(+30%) | (5) Ad Caelum 7/1, Made a promising chase debut behind a classy rival when second, beaten 24l, in a beginners' chase over 2m2f at Sligo last time. Usually held up; effective between 2½m and 3m, prefers decent ground, and should improve now stepped up in trip. Distant 2nd on chase debut; very best form on quicker ground; others preferred. |

3rd (4) (11/2 +45%)Littlebiggie |
11/2(+45%) | (4) Littlebiggie 11/2, Made mistakes, outpaced, and unsuited by the drop in trip when comfortably held in the Kilbegnet Novice Chase (Grade 3) over 2m1f at Roscommon last time. Best around 3m and had been progressive over fences until that run. Gained first chase win at Ballinrobe but didn't jump well latest and likely needs further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/3 +44%)Enjoy The Dream |
10/3(+44%) | (3) Enjoy The Dream 10/3, Made mistakes and ran below form when comfortably held in the BetVictor Novice Chase (Grade 3) over 2m2f at Punchestown last time, having been in good form beforehand. Effective from 2m to 2½m, acts on any ground, and is fairly treated on Graded hurdle form when back in handicaps. Won Tramore novice and had Speculatrix in behind since but poor run last week. |

After unseating at the first in the Munster National on Sunday, NARA is turned out again quickly. Fancied by many for that valuable Limerick contest, the Henry de Bromhead-trained five-year-old returns to calmer waters. The winner of what was a weak Grade 2 at Thurles last season, she has a rating of 136 and it will be disappointing if she fails to account for her four rivals. Second and fourth to Cloonainra at Listowel last month, Enjoy The Dream and Speculatrix are the dangers. The latter was since successful at Chepstow and might reverse the form. Littlebiggie and Ad Caelum complete the line-up, with both likely to struggle.

It may be worth giving NARA another chance after her early unseat earlier this week and she was a Grade 2 winner last term.

11/1(+21%) | (9) Juno Star 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 50 at Brighton last time. Effective at 5f-6f on all-weather and a generally consistent but frustrating maiden. Remains a maiden but another competitive show when second at Brighton last week. |

2nd (1) (12/1 -85%)Nelson Gay |
12/1(-85%) | (1) Nelson Gay 12/1, Travelled well and may have hit the front too soon when beaten 2l off 60 here last time. Suited by 5f, acts on all-weather, and looks fairly treated if building on his recent revival. In front 2f out but didn't quite get home when third here last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 -20%)Arlington |
6/1(-20%) | (6) Arlington 6/1, Quickened to return to form, making the most of a plum draw to win a handicap by a length off 50 here last time. Likes to race prominently and goes well on all-weather at 5/6f. Likes to lead and stayed in front over C&D earlier this month; 4lb higher. |

10/1(-82%) | (3) Beaumadier 10/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 55 at Musselburgh on his penultimate start and ran to form when third, beaten 3 1/2l off 60 last time. Has a wide draw but remains on a workable mark and goes well at 5f on all-weather. High enough in the weights and drawn wide, but arrives in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (85/40 +39%)Dandy Fitz |
85/40(+39%) | (7) Dandy Fitz 85/40, Returned to form when beaten 3/4l off 51 at Newcastle last time. Suited by 5f and acts on all-weather; generally a consistent type though his strike rate is modest. Turf/AW winner who fared best of those who were handy when close up at Newcastle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (4/1 +60%)Rogue De Vega |
4/1(+60%) | (8) Rogue De Vega 4/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 3 1/4l off 51 at Newcastle last time. Suited by 5f on sound or firm surfaces but his recent form has declined. Slipped down the weights and found a bit of bother when never dangerous at Newcastle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (9/1 -64%)Muma Myflo |
9/1(-64%) | (5) Muma Myflo 9/1, Too free when beaten 6l in a 6f handicap at Yarmouth last time. Effective at 5-6f and needs to bounce back after a couple of below-par runs. Only sixth when favourite at Yarmouth but that was again over 6f and perhaps 5f suits best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (6/1 -9%)Papa Don't Preach |
6/1(-9%) | (2) Papa Don't Preach 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 1/2l off 60 at Pontefract last time from a wide draw. Effective at 5-6f and handles all-weather; in form but proving a little frustrating. Rare winner but back from three months off when going close at Pontefract (5f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (80/1 -344%)Kodibeat |
80/1(-344%) | (4) Kodibeat 80/1, Needed the run when beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 5f on all-weather but has been out of form in both starts this year. Regressed since her successful debut for the Coles; 28-1 and quiet on recent yard debut. |

Papa Don't Preach is capable at this level but can be a tricky ride and isn't one for maximum faith. Neither is Nelson Gay, who also boasts more placed efforts than career wins and isn't one for the faint-hearted. However, it's possible that the competitively-weighted DANDY FITZ can build on an improved effort when third at Newcastle last time. He shades the nomination with a speculative vote. Arlington is also feared but faces competition for the lead and might struggle to supplement his last-time-out C&D win.

With a strong pace likely this might set up ideally for NELSON GAY who perhaps found himself in front too early here last time.

13/2(+13%) | (4) Cormier 13/2, Yard took this race last year. Made no impact when back up in trip despite market support, beaten 6 1/2l in a Haydock handicap last time. 5/2(+38%) | (7) Vulcan Way 5/2, A little below best when too keen and failing to stay, beaten 5l in a 12f Pontefract handicap last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 12f and handles good and good to soft ground, though stamina needs proving now up in trip. Has shown winning potential but both the trip and the ground are unknown factors. |

3rd (9) (7/2 +71%)Run Of Luck |
7/2(+71%) | (9) Run Of Luck 7/2, Ran close to form despite deeper ground when fourth beaten 8 1/4l in a Chester handicap. Effective between 10f and 12f, handles any ground, but stamina for this longer trip remains uncertain. On a winning mark and the ground will be fine but still to convince with stamina at 1m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 +17%)Swinging London |
5/1(+17%) | (3) Swinging London 5/1, Returned to form when back to his spring best, winning by a short-head off 65 over 12f at Newcastle. Effective between 12f and 14f, handles soft and good ground, and capable back up in trip. Narrow win at Newcastle last week (1m4f; front 2 clear); conditions fine; one to consider. |

5th (5) (10/1 -67%)Bowling Shane |
10/1(-67%) | (5) Bowling Shane 10/1, Improved when keeping on well in a steadily run 12f novice at Kempton, finishing fourth beaten 5l. Effective at 12f, handles good to soft, and looks a likely improver up in trip now handicapping. Progressed with each run in novice company; brings potential to this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (4/1 -60%)Ethelwulf |
4/1(-60%) | (8) Ethelwulf 4/1, Improved for the switch to turf on handicap debut when second beaten 5l over 11f at Yarmouth. Effective at 12f, handles good to soft ground, and well bred with more to come stepping up in trip. Fair second on recent handicap debut; step up in trip could unlock further progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (12/1 +52%)Now The Eagle |
12/1(+52%) | (6) Now The Eagle 12/1, Lacked pace to get involved on British debut when comfortably held in a 12f Kempton handicap. Effective from 12f to 13f, suited by soft ground; maiden in France who should do better back on turf and up in trip. Ex-French; conditions should suit but not easily recommended after a low-key stable debut. |

Swinging London got up to score by a short head at Newcastle last Friday and will need to transfer that form to turf. Even if he does, the son of Dark Angel might still be up against it with ETHELWULF in opposition. The Gosdens' gelding finished second over an extended 1m3f at Yarmouth recently, shaping as if this step up in distance could unlock improvement. Off an unchanged mark, he could be the one to beat. Gifted Angel is another to watch out for.

Although there are some potential improvers on show, there should be another big run in the offing from SWINGING LONDON.

7/2(+0%) | (2) Chestnut Pete 7/2, Made too much use of when fourth beaten 22l in a handicap chase here last time. Best at 2m and suited by good ground. Only 1-25, though form of March's win did work out well; low-key C&D return latest.. |

(5) (11/1 +0%)Pooroldmackley |
11/1(+0%) | (5) Pooroldmackley 11/1, Scored by 1/4l off 83 over 2m7f at Worcester on his penultimate start, then ran to form when third beaten 24l off 84 last time. Acts on any ground, fairly treated, and improving as trip increases with more to come at 3m. Defied this mark over hurdles before not seeing out 3m2f last time out; possibilities.. |

PEP TALKING hasn't finished outside the top two in any of his last four starts, most recently taking the silver medal home at Huntingdon, and he goes off an unchanged mark. Billy Aprahamian's seven-year-old drops in grade and could take full advantage. Pooroldmackley was well beaten in third at Newton Abbot last month, but is 1lb lower and may get closer. Stardhem looks best of the rest.

The booking of Gina Andrews and a good reappearance outing are sufficient to gain PEP TALKING the verdict over old rival Stardhem.

4/1(-45%) | (6) Argy Bhaji 4/1, Promising debut when third, beaten 1/2l in a Kempton novice after ending up on the slowest ground; drawn wide here; effective at 6f on AW and open to improvement. Showed plenty of promise when a close third on debut at Kempton over 6f; lots to like. |

(1) (8/1 +27%)Eduardo Calderon |
8/1(+27%) | (1) Eduardo Calderon 8/1, Never able to land a blow when beaten 9l in a novice at Chester last time; trainer in form and returns from a break; needs to show plenty more. Third at Brighton on debut but down the field at Chester when last seen; gelded; AW debut. |

(8) (80/1 -300%)Backfire |
80/1(-300%) | (8) Backfire 80/1, Showed some promise despite little going right when beaten 5 1/2l in a novice at Leicester on debut; bred to be effective over 6-8f and entitled to improve on that effort. Hinted at ability when fifth at Leicester on debut nine days ago; better needed; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (100/1 -614%)Roccobear |
100/1(-614%) | (7) Roccobear 100/1, Too keen and failed to get home when 4l fourth in a maiden at Newcastle on debut; bred to stay up to 8f and makes debut for a new yard. Last of four behind Zoiros at Newcastle on debut two weeks ago; has since switched yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (100/1 -203%)Apex Star |
100/1(-203%) | (5) Apex Star 100/1, Failed to build on debut, not staying the trip when well beaten in a 7f novice at Southwell last time; sire was a sprinter while dam stayed 10f; likely type for handicaps. Down the field on AW in two starts (6f/7f) and may be one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (300/1 -355%)Rosieisme Darling |
300/1(-355%) | (9) Rosieisme Darling 300/1, Improved on debut but possibly flattered when beaten 7l in a novice at Leicester last time; wide draw; bred to sprint and likely to do better in lower-grade handicaps. Offered a bit more on her second start but was still well beaten; one for handicaps. |

A highly promising third when only beaten half a length on his introduction at Kempton earlier in the month, ARGY BHAJI is entitled to improve plenty for that effort and this looks like an ideal opportunity to break the maiden. Runner-up on each of his two starts since being gelded, Zoiros is likely to be thereabouts again. Titanck shaped well, despite being slowly away, on his nursery debut and is another to consider.

Titanck is second choice behind ARGY BHAJI, who showed plenty of promise when a close third at Kempton on debut.

10/3(-67%) | (3) Kopa Kilana 10/3, Ran to form when beaten 3¼l off 91 over 2m4f at Perth last time; consistent at 2–2½m but remains a maiden for a reason. 0-25 over hurdles but has posted some good efforts for new stable since the summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/2 +35%)Call Your Bluff |
13/2(+35%) | (4) Call Your Bluff 13/2, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Newcastle last time. Returning from a long layoff; looks a strong stayer over hurdles but has been inconsistent in a short career. Safely held on handicap debut in January; had wind op last month; now with new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (8/1 +71%)Well Presented |
8/1(+71%) | (11) Well Presented 8/1, Not a clear run and still green; below form but did see out the trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Lacked fluency and was always in rear over C&D (good) on handicap debut in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (11/1 +61%)Atlantic Power |
11/1(+61%) | (13) Atlantic Power 11/1, Made mistakes and was well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f here latest; needs to improve. Placed over C&D in February but absent since ending last season with a lesser effort here. |

12/1(-33%) | (12) Nowyouvebinandunit 12/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time; off a short break and needs more. 0-14 over hurdles but was creditable second at Stratford in March; could have a say. |

(6) (16/1 -33%)Slemish |
16/1(-33%) | (6) Slemish 16/1, Failed to build on reappearance when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Hexham last time; effective at around 2m3f but inconsistent in a short career. Well held at Hexham this month but a big player if judged on his second here in August. |

(8) (18/1 -80%)Endersen |
18/1(-80%) | (8) Endersen 18/1, Improved when allowed an easy lead, beaten a length off 74 over 3m2f here last time; needs to progress further. Clear third over 3m2f here in May but not seen again since and drop back to 2m5f not ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (40/1 -150%)Jamaicaine |
40/1(-150%) | (10) Jamaicaine 40/1, Stopped quickly and needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Worcester most recently; fair mark on best form but has had issues. Back from long absence with two heavy defeats this season; still worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 -355%)Drumheller |
50/1(-355%) | (2) Drumheller 50/1, Below form when outclassed, finishing 47l third in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton on his most recent run; has a bit to find. Safely held in his qualifying races and did not get far on handicap debut; back from break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (66/1 -100%)Ballyhealy Diamond |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Ballyhealy Diamond 66/1, Keen and outpaced, outclassed when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m3f here last time; returning from a break and more required. Showed no significant promise when a big-priced outsider for three novice/maiden hurdles. |

JINGLE JANGLE JET could be set for further success if he picks up where he left off in March. That Newcastle triumph was the seven-year-old's final start for Philip Kirby, but this is no tougher and it could provide an ideal starting point for his career with Ben Pauling. Kopa Kilana has held his form well and looks worth another try over this sort of trip. Call Your Bluff merits a betting check.

Another chance is given to SLEMISH, who didn't really fire last time but was a very good second here two starts ago.

Recent hurdle winner; struggled in 2 chase starts but 7lb lower chase mark at least. |

10/3(-11%) | (8) Spellacy's Cross 10/3, Returned to form when down in grade and appreciating a stiff test down in trip to win a handicap by 3/4l off 92 over 2m3f here last time; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and handles any ground. Off the mark over fences here latest and form boosted; only up 3lb. |

5/1(+23%) | (6) Person Of Interest 5/1, Won by 12l off 100 over 2m3f at Downpatrick two starts back but was badly hampered by fallers and pulled up in a handicap chase last time; the form of that chase win looks weak. Pulled up either side of Downpatrick success and can make errors. |

(2) (13/2 +35%)Ceroc |
13/2(+35%) | (2) Ceroc 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Listowel last time; effective between 2 1/2m and 3m; dangerous if allowed easy time up front. Pulled up after errors on yard debut; 0-8 over fences; probably needs further. |

(9) (10/1 +17%)Doyen Magic |

(5) (12/1 +40%)Jouster |
12/1(+40%) | (5) Jouster 12/1, Never involved when back from a break and needing the run down the field in a 2m handicap hurdle at Punchestown; effective over 2 1/2m with cut but out of form in 2025. Pulled up final start for Gavin Cromwell; didn't show much on last week's return/yard bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (12/1 -50%)The Dara Man |
12/1(-50%) | (3) The Dara Man 12/1, Unseated rider in a handicap chase over 2m2f at Cork last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, handles any ground; dropping in the weights and likes to make the running. 2nd to King Of Kingsfield but either failed to complete or tailed off in three runs since. |

After deservedly making the breakthrough at this venue earlier in the month, SPELLACY'S CROSS might follow up. The Jimmy Barcoe-trained six-year-old has gone up just 3lb and still looks nicely treated off a mark of 95. With Darragh O'Keeffe aboard, Listowel winner Ollie La Ba Ba is the second choice. Rated 7lb higher over flights, he could take advantage of his lower chase mark. Although pulled up in the same contest when last seen, Person Of Interest and Ceroc had valid excuses and are of definite interest in this competitive affair. The Dara Man was still in with every chance when unseating three out at Cork and, with Michael Kenneally again claiming a valuable 7lb, he should be able to make his presence felt.

This may not take much winning and it could be a good chance for recent course winner, SPELLACY'S CROSS, to follow up

(11) (5/1 +64%)Zooella |
5/1(+64%) | (11) Zooella 5/1, Green early but showed minor promise on debut when third, beaten 5 1/4l in a novice at Kempton; effective at 6f on the all-weather and should progress a little. Lived up to market expectations (outsider of three) in Kempton contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/1 +0%)Bintola |
5/1(+0%) | (2) Bintola 5/1, Improved from debut but had too much to do after missing the break when second, beaten 3l in a novice at Kempton latest; effective at 6f and bred for 8-10f; improving. Ran well at Kempton last time and could take another step forward; possibilities. |

(10) (12/1 -33%)Yy Spirit |
12/1(-33%) | (10) Yy Spirit 12/1, Too free when fourth, beaten 8l in a novice over 7f at Newcastle latest; effective at 7f on the all-weather with speed in the pedigree, so 6f may yet suit. Debut form suggests she's a possible danger if this drop in distance suits. |

(5) (18/1 -13%)Hello It's Me |
18/1(-13%) | (5) Hello It's Me 18/1, Did plenty early and did not find much, comfortably held in a novice over 5f at Nottingham last time; bred to be suited by 6-8f; likeable type who could bounce back. Some promise on debut but disappointing last time; not sure what to expect. |

(8) (50/1 -213%)Slot |
50/1(-213%) | (8) Slot 50/1, Improved from debut though flattened out up in trip after a big move to finish 2 1/2l third in a maiden at Newcastle on her most recent run; effective at 5f on the all-weather, pedigree all speed but may get 6f. Has place possibilities but likely needs progress to get off the mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (125/1 -279%)Sunlit Sea |
125/1(-279%) | (9) Sunlit Sea 125/1, Did not travel and was green on a poor debut when well beaten in a novice at Chelmsford on her only start; yard's horses tend to need more time. Never figured at Chelmsford; one for handicaps later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (250/1 -658%)Queen Sana |
250/1(-658%) | (7) Queen Sana 250/1, 4 May; Ardad filly; half-sister to Ararat, very useful at 7f; inexperienced jockey booked. Newcomer who looks less interesting than stablemate Cryingintherain. |

Fiery Damsel took a step forward from her debut effort to get off the mark at Kempton last month and holds an obvious chance. However, she might find it tough to give her penalty away to BINTOLA. Harry Charlton's juvenile produced an improved display when occupying the runner-up berth at the same venue latest and, with normal improvement, she will prove hard to beat. Any market confidence behind newcomer Cryingintherain would be interesting.

Kempton scorer FIERY DAMSEL is the form pick, while Cryingintherain is an interesting newcomer, assuming she consents to load.

(7) (9/2 -13%)Velvet Whisper |
9/2(-13%) | (7) Velvet Whisper 9/2, Back to her best up in trip when beaten a neck off 64 at Redcar last time; effective up to 10f and acts on good to firm and good to soft ground, though whether she handles soft ground remains to be seen. Improved for 1m2f at Redcar 19 days ago; slower ground to deal with this time. |

(8) (13/2 +41%)Chambers |
13/2(+41%) | (8) Chambers 13/2, Lacked pace in a novelty event, finishing down the field over 8f at Doncaster most recently; wears cheekpieces first time; effective at 1m2f and handles heavy ground, with this trip likely more suitable than last time. Promising stable debut; trip/ground okay; interesting down in class with accessories on. |

(10) (7/1 +79%)Dust Cover |
7/1(+79%) | (10) Dust Cover 7/1, Soft ground may not have suited off a stiff mark when beaten 10l in an 8f Sandown handicap last time; returns from a short break and should be suited by around 8f, though has a bit to prove over soft ground at this trip. Not solid but low mileage and he drops in class and steps up in trip. |

(3) (15/2 -7%)Freddy Robinson |
15/2(-7%) | (3) Freddy Robinson 15/2, Ran to form in added blinkers despite trouble when third, beaten 4 1/4l in a Beverley handicap most recently; effective at 10-12f and acts on any ground, but stamina still to prove over this far. (16) (8/1 +50%)Moonlit Cloud |
8/1(+50%) | (16) Moonlit Cloud 8/1, Again below form despite the drop in trip when beaten 7l in a Chelmsford handicap last time; effective at 10f, handles soft ground and the all-weather, but inconsistent and has something to prove at present. C&D winner who handles testing conditions; needs to bounce back from two modest efforts. |

9/1(+18%) | (11) Princess Amber 9/1, Bit below form when dropped in trip, beaten 4l off 65 over 8f at Kempton last time; effective from 7-10f and handles good and all-weather surfaces, but the mark looks stiff and soft ground may be a concern. Best RPR came in her one run on soft ground; optimum trip hard to gauge but can't discount. |

10/1(+9%) | (14) San Francisco Bay 10/1, Involved too soon in a race set up for closers when fourth, beaten 4l in a Bath handicap latest; effective up to 10f, acts on good to firm and heavy ground, and could fare better back at this venue. C&D winner in July and solid efforts on last two starts; others perhaps better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 -41%)Bay Dream Believer |
12/1(-41%) | (2) Bay Dream Believer 12/1, Ran to form despite the race not being run to suit when second, beaten 3l off 63 last time; wears blinkers first time; suited by 10f, acts on good to firm and soft ground, though the wide draw is no help. Three 1m2f wins in August; second at Redcar latest; soft ground may suit others more. |

14/1(-27%) | (12) Zouligan 14/1, Made no impact in a race that favoured prominent racers when beaten 7l in an 8f handicap here last time; wears cheekpieces first time; effective at 8-10f, acts on good to soft, good and all-weather, and needs headgear to help. Unplaced all seven starts; not progressing and connections now reach for headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (28/1 -133%)Blackwaterfoot |
28/1(-133%) | (4) Blackwaterfoot 28/1, Never competitive back on the all-weather when beaten 8 1/4l in a 9f Wolverhampton handicap last time; suited by 10f and handles good ground, but has a bit to prove faced with soft turf. Won a weak five-runner handicap at Ffos Las in July; well held on AW since; opposable. |

28/1(-27%) | (1) Red Trail 28/1, Below form after being too keen when well beaten in a 12f handicap at Catterick last time; effective at 10-12f and handles soft and good ground but looks up against it on recent evidence. Failed to build on promising Beverley run at Catterick latest; down in class but opposable. |

(9) (50/1 -25%)Zucayan |
50/1(-25%) | (9) Zucayan 50/1, Never travelling when dropped in trip and finished down the field in a 7f Wolverhampton handicap last time; effective around 8f and suited by a sound surface, could improve back up in distance. (15) (50/1 +0%)Treasured Angel |
50/1(+0%) | (15) Treasured Angel 50/1, Well below form and appeared not to stay when well beaten in an 11f Yarmouth handicap latest; wears cheekpieces first time; effective at 10f and acts on soft ground, with the drop in trip likely to help. Little solid form and hopes rest on the new cheekpieces giving her a lift. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (125/1 -150%)Luisa |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Luisa 125/1, Below form when dropped in trip on stable debut, well beaten in a 9f Wolverhampton handicap last time; effective up to 10f but all worthwhile form is on the all-weather, leaving something to prove on soft turf. Low-key stable debut on AW last month; too much to prove for comfort. |

Sweet Kiss only finished fourth when attempting to complete a hat-trick at Newcastle, but is likely to enjoy the return to turf so she has to be considered. C&D winner San Francisco Bay is noted, but it may pay to side with VELVET WHISPER. Ed Bethell's filly relished the step up to this trip when outrunning odds of 22/1 to fill the runner-up spot at Redcar earlier this month. With a similar performance, she could be the one to beat.

A few 3yos of note, with the thriving Sweet Kiss perhaps the pick, but FREDDY ROBINSON is a reliable performer who drops in class.

(1) (14/1 -17%)Zabeel Road |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Zabeel Road 14/1, Scored by a neck off 72 here three starts back; below form after a bad trip last time; effective 6-7f, acts on AW; better than able to show latest. C&D winner in August off a 2lb lower mark; solid effort at Southwell last time; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (18/1 -177%)Fiorella Princess |
18/1(-177%) | (6) Fiorella Princess 18/1, Back to best in new headgear combo when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 64 over 5f at Sandown last time; effective 5-6f on AW; prefers positive handling; still competitive. C&D winner; made all on soft ground at Sandown in first-time cheekpieces last time; up 7lb. |

FAN MAIL got his head back in front at Southwell and Tim Easterby's charge should have plenty more to come so he can follow up off 4lb higher. Similar comments apply to So Sassy, who has also been raised 4lb for getting up late to score at Lingfield in August. Maui Breeze looks to build upon a promising runner-up effort at Southwell last month.

Plenty of these have chances but FAN MAIL finished off strongly to win at Southwell last time and he's selected to follow up.

3/1(+25%) | (9) Onefortheditch 3/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Cork latest; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and a consistent hurdler, though better in that discipline. 7/2(+22%) | (11) Toor Moon 7/2, Travelled well and ran to form when second, beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap chase over 3m at Downpatrick last time; acts on heavy or good ground; in form but a frustrating maiden who has missed several good opportunities. Fair placed form over hurdles, second on his recent chase debut, likely to be in the mix. |

(7) (9/2 +10%)Kobalt St Georges |
9/2(+10%) | (7) Kobalt St Georges 9/2, Well backed but lacked a clear run and finished below form when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Down Royal last time; plenty more needed. Last of nine at this venue on only chase start, in good hands but transformation required. |

(17) (7/1 -17%)Corbally Cross |
7/1(-17%) | (17) Corbally Cross 7/1, Won by 2 1/2l off 84 over 3m at Wexford three starts back; challenged too soon off a decent pace but not disgraced when third, beaten 6 1/2l off 90 last time; well treated on maiden hurdle form but may need 3m. Reserve, point/handicap hurdler winner, good recent run, worth considering on chase debut. |

Down the field off a similar hurdles mark on his stable debut, plenty to prove now. |

(15) (11/1 +67%)Glaoinn An Airgead |
11/1(+67%) | (15) Glaoinn An Airgead 11/1, Ran to form when back up in trip and comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Tipperary last time; effective around 3m. Never in the first four over hurdles, pulled on all three starts in points, unappealing. |

22/1(-83%) | (8) Ar Nos Na Gaoithe 22/1, Outpaced and never put into the race when comfortably held in a beginners' chase over 2m3f at Downpatrick last time; wants a bit further than 2m and may do better with more positive handling in handicap chases. Course winner over hurdles, not much encouragement from two Downpatrick chase runs. |

(5) (25/1 -108%)Nakassama |
25/1(-108%) | (5) Nakassama 25/1, Won a handicap by 2l off 90 over 2m4f at Hexham three starts back; never put into the race when comfortably held in a beginners' chase last time; effective around 2 1/2m and acts on soft or good ground; in good form in both codes. Hurdles winner with useful Flat form, tailed off on chase debut, capable of much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (25/1 +11%)Walk In The Dark |
25/1(+11%) | (4) Walk In The Dark 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Sligo last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m but inconsistent overall and looking flattered by standout effort. Pulled up on his final start last year and suffered the same fate on his recent return. |

(13) (33/1 -65%)Opera Point |
33/1(-65%) | (13) Opera Point 33/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Cork last time; more required. Has never made the frame in a race of any type, not disgraced over hurdles on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (50/1 +0%)Added Bonus |
50/1(+0%) | (14) Added Bonus 50/1, Outpaced and the race may have come a bit soon when well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m at Tramore latest; effective at 2m and acts on any ground but out of form in 2025. Lost form after a good hurdles run last December, a long way below his best lately. |

The winner of a point-to-point and twice successful over flights, DUE COURSE might be able to defy top weight. While ultimately disappointing since switching to the larger obstacles, he ran his best race for quite some time when second in first-time blinkers at Sligo and it will be disappointing if he's not involved towards the business end in a contest of this quality. Runner-up on recent starts at Listowel and Downpatrick, Toor Moon is sure to have plenty of supporters. Onefortheditch, Seventy Eight Team and Sharetheknowledge are others for the shortlist.

Potentially well handicapped relative to her hurdles mark, ONEFORTHEDITCH is a hopeful choice to score on her fourth chase attempt.

17/2(+6%) | (11) Liberty Bird 17/2, No obvious excuse when well beaten in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton latest; effective 7-10f, acts on all-weather; mark is easing but recent form has been inconsistent. Form to feature off this mark but a hard filly to predict and ran no race five days ago. |

(1) (14/1 -40%)Zariela |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Zariela 14/1, Below form when beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap over 7f at Newmarket (July) last time; off a short break; suited by 1m and a sound surface; just one decent effort in her last four starts. 20/1(-67%) | (3) Geo 20/1, Had every chance but finished below form when beaten 5l in a handicap at Newbury last time; off a short break; effective at 7f but yet to fully convince with stamina for further. Best form was the Newbury nursery win over 7f since when she's gone 0-6. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (20/1 +0%)Salve Electra |
20/1(+0%) | (10) Salve Electra 20/1, May not have stayed when beaten 8l in a handicap over 10f at Chelmsford last time; suited by 1m, only worthwhile form on good ground; bit to prove. Hasn't kicked on in handicaps, especially modest the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (25/1 -25%)Biplane |
25/1(-25%) | (8) Biplane 25/1, Found little and was well beaten in a handicap at Thirsk latest; in good form prior; off a short break; effective 6-8f on sound surface; back below last winning mark but largely in poor form. Never figured on turf last time (1m) but wasn't far away over 7f here the time before. |

LIVE EACH DAY made her way through the field to score by just under two lengths at Kempton latest and is just 5lb higher. Considering the manner of that success, the daughter of Persian King looks the one to beat. Ghaiyyath Park makes some appeal on her first start for the James Tate stable after showing a fair amount of ability in Germany, while Mamma Maria is another to keep an eye on.

Perhaps unlucky not to be a dual winner on turf, MAMMA MARIA ran a solid race at Chelmsford last time and this track could suit better.

(3) (15/2 -114%)Captain Bruce |
15/2(-114%) | (3) Captain Bruce 15/2, Improved for the longer trip when landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off 50 at Newcastle last time. Effective from 7f to 10f and acts on the all-weather; likely to have more to offer. Won here over 7f in August; improved effort when upped to 1m2f at Newcastle latest; up 5lb. |

(6) (20/1 +20%)Sporty Socks |
20/1(+20%) | (6) Sporty Socks 20/1, Never travelling down in trip when comfortably held in a nursery over 7f at Leicester last time. Effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather; potential to appreciate this longer distance. Beaten 15l over 7f at Leicester last time; dam won over 1m2f on AW so of some interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (22/1 -175%)El Carrusel |
22/1(-175%) | (5) El Carrusel 22/1, Ran to form but was possibly outstayed up in trip, having looked the winner before being beaten 2l off 52 over 8f at Yarmouth last time. Cheekpieces are on for the first time; effective at 7f on a sound surface and on a fair mark if building on latest. Second of five at Yarmouth (1m) on nursery debut; stiff task yesterday; cheekpieces added. |

An eyecatcher at Wolverhampton when slowly away and short of room two furlongs out before staying on well late for fourth, THANH NAM is likely to appreciate the step up in trip and he can strike. Captain Bruce comfortably accounted for Loose Connection at Newcastle and he can uphold that form, despite being 5lb worse off. Now in the hands of Dylan Cunha after a creditable second at Kempton, Telfy Boy cannot be ruled out either.

Telfy Boy shaped as if worth a try over this trip last time but CAPTAIN BRUCE can follow up his Newcastle win off 5lb higher.

(1) (150/1 -88%)Ohana |
150/1(-88%) | (1) Ohana 150/1, Nathaniel filly; wears a hood for the first time; yard's horses tend to need more time. 7,000gns foal; wears hood; likely best watched on belated debut. |

Al Durry has finished thereabouts on both starts so far, including when second over this trip at Chelmsford in May, and she is likely to be on the premises. However, QUAMBY only found subsequent Listed scorer Victoria Harbour too good on her sole outing this year and could have more to offer. David Simcock's filly sets the standard with an official rating of 81 and is tough to oppose. Too Farhh Gone can fight it out for the minor honours.

Judged on her solid effort behind a useful sort, QUAMBY is the form choice. Al Durry is feared most.

7/2(-17%) | (4) Participle 7/2, Ran below form back up to 10f despite added cheekpieces, beaten 3 1/4l in a maiden at Leicester last time; effective 8-10f, acts on any surface; may have reached a level with a stamina concern. Yet to match last year's debut effort in four starts since; cheekpieces retained; AW debut. |

(2) (9/1 -64%)Solarize |
9/1(-64%) | (2) Solarize 9/1, Still green but improved for a longer trip when 4l third in a novice over 12f at Kempton last time; effective 10-12f and acts on all-weather; big chance despite the shorter trip. Stepped forward from his debut when a 4l third over 1m4f at Kempton; drops back to 1m2f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 -106%)Surprise Rally |
33/1(-106%) | (5) Surprise Rally 33/1, Showed only modest form on debut when well beaten in a novice over 8f at Newcastle; trainer in form and bred to be effective around 8f; can improve on that initial effort. Didn't show much when last of five at Newcastle (1m) on her debut; steps up in trip. |

GOOD OLD DAYS was a promising third when introduced in an Ascot maiden over this trip in May. A full-sister to multiple top-level winner Nations Pride, the Gosdens have given her plenty of time to develop and a victory at this stage of her career would present an enviable quandary about where to go next. Solarize's all-weather experience could make him a bigger danger than the more exposed Goodwood Mogul and Participle.

Solarize built on his debut effort when third over 1m4f at Kempton last time but a chance is taken on GOOD OLD DAYS.

Had been in good form prior; this is his second run after wind surgery. Suited by 7-8f and acts on any surface; mark is falling but form poor. Poor run at Wolverhampton latest (after a wind op); return to Southwell could help matters. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (25/1 -56%)Spec Of Light |
25/1(-56%) | (9) Spec Of Light 25/1, Outpaced and produced another poor effort on turf when down the field in a Nottingham handicap last time. Effective over 1m on the all-weather and unproven on turf; may need a forgiving surface to recapture form. C&D winner in March; struggled in two turf runs since; needs more despite returning to AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (28/1 -40%)Soames Forsyte |
28/1(-40%) | (4) Soames Forsyte 28/1, Scored by 3/4l off 68 at Nottingham three starts back but never threatened when ninth, beaten 12l off 72 last time. Usually held up; effective over 7-8f and acts on all-weather; has been in and out of form with a stiff-looking mark. No impact in two runs since a Nottingham success in July; usually slowly away; opposable. |

KNICKERBOCKER battled on gamely but was just touched off into second behind Saytarr on handicap debut at Kempton last month and the assessor may have been kind to only put her up 2lb. With the likelihood of more to come, she could turn the tables on that rival. Alessia Fernanda outran her odds of 40-1 to finish fourth over C&D at the start of the month and has dropped to an appealing mark.

The switch to AW could see the well-bred FOREST CAPER break his duck at the ninth attempt. Unexposed Knickerbocker is feared most.

13/8(+19%) | (1) Massimo Blue 13/8, Ran to form when finishing strongly, second beaten 3/4l off 66 last time; suited by 6f and looks a leading player under a penalty. Ran well at Wolverhampton under a penalty for his Southwell win; drop to 5f is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/4 +59%)Twilight Madness |
9/4(+59%) | (2) Twilight Madness 9/4, Below form after a break on soft when well beaten in a Sandown handicap last time; had been in good form before and should come on for that run. Well beaten on soft ground last time but he likes it here so may well bounce back to form. |

(3) (9/2 +10%)General Assembly |
9/2(+10%) | (3) General Assembly 9/2, Below form with no excuses when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; had shown better form before and needs to bounce back. 0-6 for this yard but he did post two respectable efforts here before his recent run. |

(7) (9/1 -100%)Shalaa Asker |
9/1(-100%) | (7) Shalaa Asker 9/1, Returned to form when coming from off the pace to be beaten 1/2l off 52 here last time; effective from 5f to 7f and considered on that effort. Without a win since 2023 but he's dropped in the weights and ran well over C&D last time. |

(4) (12/1 -71%)Bluebells Boy |
12/1(-71%) | (4) Bluebells Boy 12/1, Below form with no excuses when beaten 9l in a 6f Lingfield handicap last time; in better form beforehand; effective at 5-6f and makes stable debut. Dual course winner over 6f; below his best last time and has since switched stables. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (40/1 -150%)Nad Alshiba Snow |
40/1(-150%) | (5) Nad Alshiba Snow 40/1, Yard won this race last year; again below form and found little when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time; continues to struggle. 0-10; mostly struggled in five starts for this stable; cheekpieces removed. |

Keeping MASSIMO BLUE busy after his win at Southwell narrowly failed to pay off when he was a close second at Wolverhampton under a penalty last Saturday. However, the three-year-old did little wrong and was simply outgunned by one who got first run so compensation could await. Shalaa Asker looks a danger after a respectable third over C&D, while Twilight Madness can't be ruled out from a handy mark.

Massimo Blue can't be dismissed but SHALAA ASKER ran well over C&D last time and is selected to end a lengthy losing run.

7/4(+81%) | (5) Tokyo Joe 7/4, Did plenty early when beaten 6l in a 7f handicap at Epsom last time. Effective from 7f to 8f on the all-weather; was in good form until latest and still has relatively few runs. Peak performance when second over C&D in last AW attempt; interesting back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/2 -56%)Counting Cards |
7/2(-56%) | (2) Counting Cards 7/2, Progressive when second beaten 3/4l in a novice over 6f at Pontefract last time. Returns from a long layoff and wears a tongue-tie for the first time; remains a progressive sort. Has shown promise but returns from 13-month absence; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/1 +38%)Straight A |
5/1(+38%) | (3) Straight A 5/1, Did plenty early and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap at Nottingham last time. From a top course trainer; effective from 7f to 8f on a sound surface and could build on that reappearance. Rebound would put him in the picture (placed several times off current mark). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 -64%)Tribal Wisdom |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Tribal Wisdom 9/1, Too much to do off a steady pace when beaten 1l off 70 at Beverley last time. Returns from a short break; suited by 10f, doesn't stay farther and unexposed at 1m in recent times; consistent performer. May find this sharp 1m inadequate but holds a fighting chance on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/1 +0%)Roaring Twenties |
9/1(+0%) | (4) Roaring Twenties 9/1, Outpaced and met slight trouble before staying on, beaten 6 1/4l in a 7f handicap at York last time. Effective at 7f and acts on a sound surface; open to improvement. Not disgraced in big field at York (handicap debut) last time; may do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (9/1 -100%)Koge |
9/1(-100%) | (8) Koge 9/1, Still green and below form when fourth beaten 13l in a 9f maiden at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 1m and yet to prove stamina for further; must bounce back on handicap debut. May show progress back at this trip on handicap debut; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (18/1 -64%)Coeur Jaune |
18/1(-64%) | (7) Coeur Jaune 18/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off 66 at Leicester three starts back and ran to form when fourth beaten 6 1/4l off 72 last time. Suited by 1m and very consistent, though the handicapper may now be in charge. Largely consistent turf form features a summer double; third attempt on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (22/1 -144%)Top Of The Class |
22/1(-144%) | (1) Top Of The Class 22/1, Weak in the betting and below form when fourth beaten 8l in a handicap at Windsor last time, up in grade. Returning from a break and suited by the all-weather; was in form until that latest run. Capable of being involved back on AW, albeit seems ideally suited by Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (33/1 -32%)Eeetee |
33/1(-32%) | (9) Eeetee 33/1, Never threatened when beaten 5l in a handicap at Redcar last time. Suited by 1m and acts on the all-weather; has lost form. All wins on turf; AW record is far from solid. |

The one who appeals most is the Edward Bethell-trained COUNTING CARDS. The son of Territories has been gelded/undergone a wind operation since last September and now makes his handicap debut up in distance. Coeur Jaune has struck twice on the turf this season and, if transferring that form to the all-weather, she could have a say. Tokyo Joe is unexposed over this trip and might also get involved.

Off an attractive mark returned to the scene of his peak effort, TOKYO JOE is particularly interesting. Koge is second pick.

(4) (2/1 +27%)Summer Heat |
2/1(+27%) | (4) Summer Heat 2/1, Well placed and ran to form when beaten a length off 73 over 10f here last time. Trainer in form. Effective from 8f to 10f and handles the all-weather. Wears a visor for the first time, replacing cheekpieces. Travelled well to lead here (1m2f) latest before run down here on; back to 1m; visor on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/4 +36%)Sheikh Raj |
9/4(+36%) | (3) Sheikh Raj 9/4, Ran to form when faced with soft ground for the first time, beaten 3l off 75 over 7f at Ayr last time. Usually held up and drawn wide. Effective over 7f to 8f and acts on good to firm and all-weather surfaces. Considered back up in trip. Did his best work late on when third at Ayr last time; holds strong claims returned to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/1 -43%)Waiting All Night |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Waiting All Night 5/1, Well placed in a steadily run race when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 71 over 7f here last time. Effective from 7f to 8f, acts on any surface, but inconsistent and tends to go well at Newmarket. New mark demands more. A 5lb penalty for last week's 7f win still leaves him on a handy mark and he's a contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (7/1 +7%)Dalmally |
7/1(+7%) | (9) Dalmally 7/1, Did too much early in first-time blinkers when well beaten in a handicap at Brighton last time. In good form before that. Effective from 8f to 10f and acts on the all-weather. Removal of headgear could be beneficial. Hung left when second at Windsor and did so again when disappointing at Brighton last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 -60%)Theme Park |
12/1(-60%) | (2) Theme Park 12/1, A slow start cost him when beaten 3 1/4l off 74 at York last time. Effective from 8f to 10f and best on a sound surface. Now dropping in the weights but needs to show more back on the all-weather. Beaten about only 3l at York last month and now drops in grade on his return to AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (14/1 -27%)Divine Legacy |
14/1(-27%) | (5) Divine Legacy 14/1, Again below his best despite a drop in grade, finishing 6 1/4l third in a 10f seller here last time. Wears a visor for the first time. Suited by 10f and a sound surface, and the drop in trip with new headgear may help. Below his best in both starts since finishing second at Doncaster in July; visor goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (16/1 +0%)Beauty By My Side |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Beauty By My Side 16/1, Failed to run to form when beaten 8l in a Yarmouth handicap last time. Cheekpieces go on for the first time. Effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather, so a return to this surface in new headgear could suit. Sole win came on AW; ran well when third at Kempton but below her best on turf last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (50/1 -317%)Luminoso |
50/1(-317%) | (7) Luminoso 50/1, May have needed the run but still raced too keenly when fourth, beaten 6l in a novice over 7f at Southwell last time. Wide draw. Effective at 8f on the all-weather but a free-going sort who needs to settle over this longer trip. Runner-up at Southwell on debut in April but not so good in two runs since; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (50/1 -127%)Pacifist |
50/1(-127%) | (10) Pacifist 50/1, Below form with no obvious excuse when down the field in a handicap at Newcastle last time, though had been in good form before. Yard won this race last year. Wide draw. Effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather, considered on earlier effort. Beaten a head over C&D last month but she was well beaten last time; up in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (100/1 -150%)Penfolds Grange |
100/1(-150%) | (6) Penfolds Grange 100/1, Always behind on stable debut when beaten 8l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective around 1m on the all-weather but inconsistent, and others appeal more. Won a maiden at Wolverhampton last November; beat only one home on stable debut last time. |

WAITING ALL NIGHT already has winning form over a mile and appeals under a 5lb penalty for last week's course success over a furlong shorter. The son of Rajasinghe kept on well that day and could again be tough to overhaul if replicating the form. The Godolphin-owned Summer Heat cuts back in distance and is a notable threat with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle. Sheikh Raj handles Polytrack and also merits consideration.

Last week's 7f Chelmsford winner Waiting All Night is second choice to SHEIKH RAJ (nap) who should be suited by the return to 1m.

10/3(+33%) | (5) Hoodie Hoo 10/3, Returned to form when beaten a head off 76 at Nottingham last time; wide draw. Suited by 6f and acts on the all-weather; looks fairly treated if building on that recent revival. Went close at Nottingham last time; record of 124 on AW; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 +36%)Valley Ofthe Kings |
9/2(+36%) | (2) Valley Ofthe Kings 9/2, Won a novice at Wolverhampton over 5f by a length last time. Effective from 5-7f on a sound surface and unexposed over sprint trips; could progress now he has his head in front, but a revised mark demands it. Took well to first-time blinkers in novice event most recently; may build on that win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (15/2 -25%)Mission Command |
15/2(-25%) | (6) Mission Command 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 79 over 5f at Redcar last time. Effective over 5-6f and acts on the all-weather; the mark has eased but more will be needed. Frame possibilities, provided recent turf form is transferred to AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (8/1 -14%)Liosa |
8/1(-14%) | (9) Liosa 8/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 76 at Kempton last time. Effective over 6f and suited by the all-weather; in form, though the mark remains stiff enough. Largely consistent on AW; placed twice at Kempton since returned to this sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (17/2 +6%)Pals Battalion |
17/2(+6%) | (1) Pals Battalion 17/2, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Haydock last time; wide draw. Effective over 6f and poor in his last three starts, but a return to the all-weather should suit. Record of 4-10 on AW; interesting returned to this sphere off a workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (10/1 +17%)Dark Side Thunder |
10/1(+17%) | (11) Dark Side Thunder 10/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 72 here last time; trainer in form. Effective over 6-7f and acts on the all-weather; consistent and on his last winning mark. Four-time C&D winner; respectable fifth back here last time; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (12/1 0%)Lesley's Boy |
12/1(0%) | (12) Lesley's Boy 12/1, Had too much to do after missing the break when beaten 2l off 72 here last time. Effective over 6f; yet to add to his 2yo wins and remains inconsistent. Made the frame in C&D contest last time and is still unexposed on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (12/1 +40%)Top Juggler |
12/1(+40%) | (7) Top Juggler 12/1, Scored by a head off 75 at Carlisle on his penultimate start; outclassed up in grade when 22nd beaten 22l off 80 last time. Suited by 6f and reliable when in his grade, but the mark looks quite tough. Won on debut for new yard and faced a stiffer task later in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 -100%)Ararat |
12/1(-100%) | (8) Ararat 12/1, Overcame early keenness to return to form down in grade, landing a handicap by a neck off 74 here last time. Effective over 6-7f and acts on the all-weather; a fair mark if building on that recent revival. Resurgent in C&D event last time, taking record to 4-21; still well treated on peak form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (12/1 -50%)Baba Reza |
12/1(-50%) | (10) Baba Reza 12/1, Back to form down in grade when beaten 1 1/2l off 72 here last time. Effective over 6f and acts on the all-weather; unreliable but fairly treated if able to build on that recent revival. Ran encouragingly over C&D returned to AW last time; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (16/1 -60%)Nazuki |
16/1(-60%) | (3) Nazuki 16/1, Returned to form but flattened out late up in trip having done plenty early, beaten 2l off 81 over 7f at Doncaster last time; wide draw. Off a short break and suited by 6f on the all-weather; can build on that effort back down in trip. Has form figures of 211 over C&D (novice events); may have more to offer back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (66/1 -230%)Zero Carbon |
66/1(-230%) | (4) Zero Carbon 66/1, Forced wide at a sharp track and needed the run when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Chester last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective over 6-7f, best on the all-weather; inconsistent but looks well handicapped. Return to AW looks a plus but he seems ideally suited by Kempton. |

Two-time C&D winner NAZUKI made the frame over 7f at Doncaster in August and was kindly dropped 1lb. The booking of Jamie Spencer is noteworthy and the daughter of Earthlight could put these to the sword. Valley Ofthe Kings shed his maiden tag in first-time blinkers at Wolverhampton earlier this month and commands respect back in a handicap. Of the remainder, Hoodie Hoo makes the most appeal after his second at Nottingham.

Back over this C&D, low-mileage filly NAZUKI may be able to record a first handicap win. Ararat is second choice.

Gained his second win at Lingfield over 1m4f nine days ago; steps up to 2m under a penalty. |

(4) (9/4 +44%)Sapphire Sirocco |
9/4(+44%) | (4) Sapphire Sirocco 9/4, Longer trip suited in a slowly run race when second beaten 5l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; effective from 12f to 16f and could have more to offer as a stayer. 0-9; beaten 5l when second of seven at Lingfield on her first go over this trip. |

(1) (4/1 -45%)Home And Dry |
4/1(-45%) | (1) Home And Dry 4/1, Well backed and ran to form when beaten 3l off a mark of 57 at Lingfield last time; returning from another break and a contender but may need the run. Sole win from 16 starts came over this C&D in April 2021; off since June; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (13/2 +0%)Witch Hazel |
13/2(+0%) | (3) Witch Hazel 13/2, Paid for chasing the clear leader and was comfortably held in a handicap over 2m1f at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 2m and better than latest suggests. Behind two subsequent winners when fourth at Kempton; may bounce back from her latest run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (66/1 +34%)Tilsworth Silver |
66/1(+34%) | (5) Tilsworth Silver 66/1, Never dangerous in added hood when well beaten in a handicap over 11f at Southwell last time; has shown no worthwhile form. 13-race maiden with low-level form; step up from 1m3f needs to make a big difference. |

This can go the way of HOME AND DRY, who returned from an absence to finish a highly creditable third at Lingfield in June. Given another break since, the seven-year-old may be able to regain the winning thread, with Cieren Fallon an eyecatching booking. It may be recent Lingfield scorer Jack Langley who chases him home on the rise in distance, although Sapphire Sirocco was a promising second on her first go over 2m and is another to note.

Jack Langley holds obvious claims despite a 6lb penalty but a chance is taken on WITCH HAZEL bouncing back from her latest effort.

7/4(+0%) | (1) Moab 7/4, Improved up in trip to win a handicap by 4l off 57 over 1m6f here last time. Effective from 10f to 14f on the all-weather and should stay a bit further. Still well treated on maiden and jumps form, unexposed over staying distances. Won well enough over 1m6f here recently to earn this 7lb higher mark; contender. |

(4) (5/2 +29%)Savvy Stellar |
5/2(+29%) | (4) Savvy Stellar 5/2, Ran to form up in trip to land a handicap by 1 1/4l off 55 here last time. Effective from 14f to 16f on the all-weather. Unexposed at 2m and showing steady improvement. Only three ran but he beat a Prescott improver with the pair clear over C&D a month ago. |

(3) (7/2 +61%)Mio Amico |
7/2(+61%) | (3) Mio Amico 7/2, Improved up in trip on handicap debut when beaten 1 1/4l off 62 over 1m6f at Chelmsford last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective at 14f on the all-weather though not certain to stay further; needs to build on that effort. His close fourth at Chelmsford is something to build on and cheekpieces are added. |

(5) (11/2 +8%)Advertorial |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Advertorial 11/2, Improved up in trip to land a handicap by a head off 47 over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last time. Trainer in form. Suited by 12-14f on the all-weather, in fair form and not fully exposed over staying distances. First run over 1m6f when winning at Wolverhampton latest; could be suited by this 2m. |

(2) (18/1 -100%)Barafundle Bay |
18/1(-100%) | (2) Barafundle Bay 18/1, Returned to form when beaten 3 1/2l off 56 over 2m1f at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 12f on the all-weather and unexposed at 2m. Runs off the same mark as when last successful. Third on recent stable debut (2m AW) when held up off a steady pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (28/1 -40%)Arcimboldo |
28/1(-40%) | (6) Arcimboldo 28/1, Appeared suited by the step up in trip when 4l third in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective at 2m on the all-weather but looks modest overall and needs to build on that latest effort. Questionable what he achieved when third of five off a steady pace at Newcastle. |

SAVVY STELLAR sprang a bit of a surprise when beating the well-fancied Night Tara over track and trip last time, but there didn't seem to be any fluke about the manner of that triumph. He only has a 2lb higher rating to contend with and it would be no surprise to see him go in again. Moab comfortably struck by four lengths over 1m6f here on his most recent outing and is expected to mount a bold bid. Advertorial completes the shortlist.

Although not bred for this far, SAVVY STELLAR (nap) was strong through the line when winning over C&D a month ago.

Effective from 8f to 12f, acts on a sound surface, and remains competitive after a small rise. Well backed with the visor left off when prevailing narrowly over C&D two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (4/1 +27%)Kessaar Power |
4/1(+27%) | (2) Kessaar Power 4/1, Won this race last year and scored by 2l off 49 here on his penultimate start. Failed to handle heavy ground when turned out quickly last time. Effective at 7/8f, acts on soft, good, and all-weather; return to AW suits despite carrying a penalty. Penalised for winning over C&D last Thursday; heavy ground no good at Bath on Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (7/1 0%)Chloe's Courage |
7/1(0%) | (11) Chloe's Courage 7/1, Ran to form despite interference when beaten 1 1/4l off 46 over 7f at Brighton last time. Effective at 6/7f, acts on good and good to firm ground, and looks capable of better up in trip. Competitive in three of four handicaps, the latest when second of 14 at Brighton last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (15/2 +12%)Beautiful Dawn |
15/2(+12%) | (9) Beautiful Dawn 15/2, Well held after a wide trip when beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 7/8f, doesn't stay further, acts on good to firm and all-weather, and is better drawn this time. Both wins for Joseph O'Brien; she's had plenty of chances to win a race in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 +21%)First Encounter |
11/1(+21%) | (5) First Encounter 11/1, Scored by 5 1/2l off 45 at Salisbury in July but stopped quickly in a first-time visor last time. Effective from 8f to 10f, handles any surface, though remains hard to predict. Won easily on turf in July (1m) but shot up the weights and comfortably held since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/1 -22%)Hock Eye The Noo |
11/1(-22%) | (4) Hock Eye The Noo 11/1, Did too much early in added cheekpieces when beaten 3 1/4l off 56 over 9f at Wolverhampton last time. Drawn wide but effective from 7f to 10f, acts on good and all-weather, and better than the result suggests. Back on good mark and went too hard up front when beaten about 3l at Wolverhampton latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (18/1 -29%)Captain Cess |
18/1(-29%) | (3) Captain Cess 18/1, Again struggled on soft when finishing down the field in a handicap at Windsor most recently. Wide draw and returns from a short break. Effective at 7/8f, best on a sound surface; switch to AW may help. Beaten under a length in first two handicaps; soft not ideal since; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (25/1 -56%)Pistrucci |
25/1(-56%) | (6) Pistrucci 25/1, Pulled up in a juvenile hurdle at Stratford last time, and flat form had tailed off before going hurdling. Effective from 10f to 12f but has a lot to prove back in this sphere. The odd bit of Flat form but essentially disappointing; accomplished little over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (33/1 -65%)Poke The Bear |
33/1(-65%) | (13) Poke The Bear 33/1, Made late gains in an added tongue-tie when beaten 3l off 45 here last time. Drawn wide but effective at 8f, acts on all-weather, and could build on that latest effort despite a breathing issue. Second run after wind surgery when keeping on to be 3l off Kessaar Power here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (80/1 -142%)Zaramara |
80/1(-142%) | (12) Zaramara 80/1, Never beyond midfield when dropped in trip and finished down the field in a 7f handicap at Wolverhampton most recently. Trained by a top course handler but remains hard to assess with largely poor form. Hasn't improved for handicaps, beaten between 7l and 11 in all three; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (125/1 -89%)Hannahs Story |
125/1(-89%) | (10) Hannahs Story 125/1, Trainer in form and returns from a short break. Bred to be effective from 8f to 12f but has yet to show any ability in either code. Has no worthwhile form on the Flat or over hurdles; now with a new trainer. |

Stepping back up to a mile could be just what the doctor ordered for CHLOE'S COURAGE after a strong runner-up effort over 7f at Brighton, where she kept on well late in the piece. A determined winner over C&D, for which he has been raised 2lb, Cinderella Man is a key player along with Kessaar Power, who scored over track and trip on his penultimate start. Others to note include Hock Eye The Noo, Monks Mead and Tonal.

Last week's penalised Chelmsford winner KESSAAR POWER may win again here and Monday's run on heavy ground at Bath is best forgotten.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (13/2 -8%)Timeless Charm |
13/2(-8%) | (10) Timeless Charm 13/2, Won by a neck off 72 over 12f at Newcastle on penultimate start; went clear and ran to form but did a bit too much too soon when third beaten 9l off 74 last time; effective 10-12f on a sound surface; consistent performer. Went off too hot last time; handicapped to go well should they get the tactics right. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/1 +30%)Charming Whisper |
7/1(+30%) | (6) Charming Whisper 7/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 74 over 10f at Newmarket in August; outpaced and probably unsuited by drop in trip when seventh beaten 6l off 78 last time; suited by 10f and a sound surface; needs to rebound after a couple of below-par efforts. There are stamina queries over quite this far and last two runs were underwhelming. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

7/1(+50%) | (5) Educator 7/1, Never travelled and didn't handle kickback when finishing down the field in a 12f handicap here most recently; suited by 12f and a sound surface; had been in solid form until last couple of efforts. Hard to dismiss off this mark but he did run flat here a month ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (15/2 +6%)Way Of Life |
15/2(+6%) | (4) Way Of Life 15/2, Unusually below par when beaten 8l in a 12f handicap at Epsom last time; consistent over 12f and now back below last winning mark. Fairly well held in his last four races but returning to the AW has to be a good thing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 0%)Ludo's Landing |
9/1(0%) | (1) Ludo's Landing 9/1, Made too much use of on soft ground when comfortably held in a 12f handicap at Ripon last time; off a short break; effective 10-12f, acts on any surface but may prefer a sound one; form has been inconsistent recently. Soft ground was an excuse latest; won the time before and the AW doesn't faze him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (9/1 +0%)Light Speed |
9/1(+0%) | (9) Light Speed 9/1, Scored by a length off 72 over 10f at Beverley three starts back; ran to form when fifth beaten 4l off 75 last time; effective 8-10f and needs a sound surface; remains on a competitive mark. Hasn't built on his Beverley win in August and this trip will be a first. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (10/1 -25%)His Finest Hour |
10/1(-25%) | (12) His Finest Hour 10/1, Made a bit too much use of when beaten 6l in a 10f handicap at Doncaster last time; was in good form prior; best at 10f and acts on all-weather; on a competitive mark. Consistent since his Newbury win in July and perhaps found the ground too soft last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (16/1 -100%)Primo Lara |
16/1(-100%) | (3) Primo Lara 16/1, Ran to form but never threatened when beaten 3 1/4l off 82 over 10f at Yarmouth last time; cheekpieces on first time; effective at 10f and on all-weather; still looks on a stiff mark. Dual 1m2f winner; yet to excel over this far and cheekpieces are now added; others safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (20/1 +9%)Silver Gunn |
20/1(+9%) | (8) Silver Gunn 20/1, A bit free and flattened out after meeting trouble when beaten 6 1/2l in a 10f handicap at Yarmouth last time; suited by 10f; tends to be below par on all-weather and inconsistent of late. Started this season with a near-miss at Windsor (1m2f) in April but comfortably held since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (33/1 -136%)Papagei |
33/1(-136%) | (7) Papagei 33/1, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a 10f handicap at Doncaster most recently; suited by 12f and acts on any surface; generally consistent and capable of a better showing. Well below best in cheekpieces and blinkers last two outings; needs a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (40/1 -233%)Pleasant Man |
40/1(-233%) | (2) Pleasant Man 40/1, Found little when beaten 7l in a 1m6f handicap at Wolverhampton last time; visor fitted for the first time; effective at 14f and suited by all-weather; flattered by Group-level form. Now makes debut for another new yard after a period on the sidelines; visor added. |

Always A Star rarely runs a bad race and, despite failing to justify favouritism when third here last month, he is one to take seriously. However, LUDO'S LANDING looks the one to side with. Charlie Johnston's five-year-old failed to fire when last of five at Ripon in July, but the softer conditions may have been against him that day. With a previous all-weather success to his name, he gets the vote. Timeless Charm also has a chance.

Although yet to get his head in front, ALWAYS A STAR has been running well in defeat and deserves a break.
Ths is the racecard key.
