SASSIFIED made it three wins from his last four starts when staying on to score over 2m3f at Fontwell earlier in the month and and a 4lb rise for that victory may not be enough to prevent this progressive five-year-old from going in again today. Lady Gwen only missed out by half a length off 1lb lower at Worcester last time and another bold bid is expected from Kim Bailey's mare, while Pittsburg completes the shortlist after a string of good efforts in defeat.

Lots with chances in this big-field opener. Recent course scorer CAWTHORNE CRACKER has the potential for better again and gets the vote. Fellow last-time-out winners Weaver's Answer and Sassified head the dangers along with Lady Gwen and Pittsburg. Handicap-newcomer The Punt needs a betting check.

The front two came clear of Pittsburg when CAWTHORNE CRACKER toughed it out here recently and he can defy the 5lb rise.

All The Glory and Flight Of Freedom both merit the utmost respect given their proven winning form over hurdles, but the penalties that they carry have to be a concern. With that in mind, preference is for FAVOUR AND FORTUNE, who won two bumpers in impressive fashion last season and his most recent effort in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham can easily be forgiven.

FAVOUR AND FORTUNE looks a useful prospect for hurdling and the dual bumper winner can make a successful start in this sphere. Flight of Freedom created a good impression when scoring first time up over hurdles at Warwick recently and should improve. All The Glory is probably vulnerable again and stablemate Rock of The Nation could be a bigger threat if ready to roll.

After this month's emphatic Warwick win, FLIGHT OF FREEDOM is preferred.
Class & Speed Card

This will likely be hard work for these juveniles, who look set to encounter extremely testing conditions, but it shouldn't be a problem for CLIMATE ACTION. By Cracksman out of Friendlier, who have both produced a plethora of soft and heavy ground winners, she can improve on her debut second and get off the mark. Laura Bay posted a creditable third at Nottingham last month and might not need much more to be involved, while Juneberry is the pick of the newcomers.

JUNEBERRY represents top connections and is a half-sister to a useful sort who won on heavy ground on debut so she's chanced before any market clues. Climate Action made a bright start at Ascot and seems sure to improve and go well if handling the different conditions. The well-bred Rouge Sellier is another set to progress on the back of a promising first run at Haydock.

Ascot runner-up CLIMATE ACTION sets the form standard ahead of Haydock third Rouge Sellier. Some of the newcomers are interesting.
Class & Speed Card

SHERBORNE blew away the cobwebs with a spin over hurdles 22 days ago and looks well treated in relation to his mark over timber now switched back to fences, especially with Freddie Gingell taking 7lb off in the saddle. Neigh Botha represents a yard in flying form and ran well enough when third off 1lb higher last time to be considered, while Stroll On By has slipped to a fair rating and warrants respect.

STROLL ON BY made a positive start over fences at Warwick last time and he looks well treated based on early bumper form, so he makes most appeal in what looks a weak race on paper. Sherborne is a danger back over the larger obstacles and Berliet Express is of interest starting out for a new stable.

Preference is for STROLL ON BY, who ran a big race before fading into fourth on his chasing debut at Warwick four weeks ago.
Class & Speed Card

Billytherealbigred was second in a similar event on his debut at Stratford a couple of weeks ago and is arguably the one to beat here. However, a chance can be taken on the unraced FRANCINA, who is a full-sister to the Group 3 Flat winner and dual hurdles scorer Favorite Moon. Great Valley is another noteworthy newcomer, while Summer Night City will need to improve to make an impact.

Dan Skelton landed the first race of the season of this type at Stratford recently and GREAT VALLEY is an obvious one on paper for the yard. He's preferred to fellow newcomer Francina and Billytherealbigred, who was second in the aforementioned contest.

The filly FRANCINA has a nice Flat pedigree and she wouldn't have to be anything special to take this.
Class & Speed Card

IMPERIAL EXPRESS wasn't disgraced in a valuable sales race at Doncaster last month and Andrew Balding's filly, who sets the standard with an official rating of 76, might be hard to beat if handling forecast conditions. Lou Lou's Gift finished third over C&D on her debut, despite racing freely, and is the biggest danger to the selection. It's Showtime looks best placed to chase the pair home.

Not a race that will take much winning and a good chance for LOU LOU'S GIFT to build on her promising start here 5 weeks ago and come out on top. Imperial Express faced a stiff task at Doncaster and has a better chance in this company.

It will be disappointing if the Haggas filly LOU LOU'S GIFT can't go two places better than on her C&D debut last month.
Class & Speed Card

Northern Poet is sure to be popular in his bid for a four-timer but a 9lb rise for his most recent success makes life tougher and slight preference is for SNIPE. Dan Skelton's gelding won with much more in hand than the margin would suggest on his chasing debut at Southwell three weeks ago and he has scope for plenty of improvement in this sphere, so he's taken to defy a 6lb hike in the ratings. Copperhead has filled the runner-up spot the last twice and he can have his say again.

SNIPE created a big impression when landing a 5-runner contest at Southwell on his chasing debut and he's well worth a chance to defy a rise against mostly more exposed types. Copperhead also arrives in form and looks a danger, while Back On The Lash warrants a mention dropping in grade for his reappearance.

A competitive handicap in which a few have chances, but this might be the time to catch SAM BARTON with his yard going well.
Class & Speed Card

In a moderate event it would be no surprise to see YOUNG WOLF bounce back to form. The 10-year-old has not matched the level of form that saw him win at Market Rasen in August in three subsequent starts, but he is just 1lb above that winning mark and may improve for first-time cheekpieces. Ballinoulart was not disgraced at Bangor last time and edges out Carapaz to be best of the rest.

BALLINOULART has a much less exposed profile than most of these and looks worth siding with on his reappearance. Young Wolf is back to just 1 lb higher than when successful at Market Rasen in August and could pose the chief threat if reacting well to first-time headgear.

The 5yo BALLINOULART can gain a first success after two fair chasing efforts in the spring.
Class & Speed Card

Fen Tiger has been knocking on the door but a 3lb rise for a neck defeat at Brighton last month looks harsh and he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to WAXING GIBBOUS. David Menuisier's filly has shown signs of promise in three qualifying runs and can do much better now switched to handicaps, with an opening mark of 70 looking workable. Selenachorus is another to consider.

WAXING GIBBOUS appeals as one who should have more to offer in handicaps and gets the vote under Jamie Spencer. Fen Tiger could be the one for the forecast spot.

Although he's up against some unexposed 3yos, the in-form 5yo FEN TIGER holds solid claims on form. Pourquoi is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

GO TO WAR, a half-brother to useful hurdler Flight Deck, finished a creditable eighth in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree when last seen. Fergal O'Brien's charge might prefer further in time, but this looks a suitable starting point over hurdles and he gets the vote. Stratford bumper winner Westerninthepark was behind in 12th that day so it would be no surprise were he to go well. Mikimoto and King Of The Lake are others to consider.

The vote in what looks a decent maiden goes to GO TO WAR, who did the job well when winning a bumper on debut last year and his subsequent effort in Grade 2 company was no backward step. He could make up into a useful novice hurdler this season. The same is true of Mikimoto and American Land, both of whom shaped well on their respective debuts in this sphere and are feared most in that order of preference. King of The Lake is another to consider and Broomhill Road is worth a second look, too.

This might go to MIKIMOTO, who finished well from the rear to go very close on his recent hurdling debut.
Class & Speed Card

MONTREGARD came home strongly to win over 2m3f at Warwick in April, and Tom Lacey's charge is expected to be even better over this longer trip. An opening mark of 105 wouldn't appear to be a gift, but it's unlikely that he will need to be anything out of the ordinary to strike here. My Gift To You and Izzy's Grey head the list of dangers.

There should be plenty more to come from MONTREGARD, who landed the odds in a Warwick maiden during the spring and is likely to relish this stiffer test now moving into handicap company. State of Honor was all set to make a successful handicap debut over C&D when last seen 8 months ago and will be a threat if none the worse for that tumble. Mactavish is third choice ahead of My Gift To You.

Unexposed 4yo MONTREGARD (nap) displayed a pretty good turn of foot to collect at Warwick maiden in the spring and gets the vote.
Class & Speed Card

KAMANIKA arrives on a hat-trick following victories over this trip at Sandown and Leicester, escaping a penalty for scoring at the latter venue in an apprentice riders' handicap, and James Doyle's mount looks set for another bold bid. Corymbosa is expected to improve now tried in a handicap for the first time off a feasible mark of 68, although Marmara Star could prove a bigger threat to the selection if transferring her Wolverhampton form to turf.

KAMANIKA escapes a penalty for last week's Leicester success and can complete a hat-trick. If Marmara Star is as effective on turf as AW she could be the one to chase home Joseph Parr's charge. Sir Michael Stoute handicap newcomer Corymbosa is another interesting runner.

Another good result looks on the cards for KAMANIKA (nap), who holds very persuasive claims. Moush is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

In an open heat, it might be worth taking a chance on ITSO FURY. The gelded son of Fame And Glory competed in a couple of warm staying events at the back end of last season, and this drop in class could see him post an improved effort. The Imposter has won six of his last seven starts and he might have more in the locker, while Gentleman Valley would also hold solid claims if able to put a recent fall behind him.

GOSHHOWPOSH caught the eye on a couple of occasions in novices and is very much the type to up his game switched to handicaps, so he might be up to completing a successful return. Itso Fury has a bigger effort in him and deserves respect, while Gentleman Valley seems likely to give a good account.

The selection is handicap debutant GOSHHOWPOSH, who began his career with three very encouraging runs towards the end of last year.
Class & Speed Card

SPITFIRE GIRL finished first past the post on her chasing debut nine days ago, but was later demoted to second having caused interference. Connections will have been happy with the overall performance, however, and she will appreciate the return to a right-handed track. With improvement to come, she can repel the likely challenge of Kestrel Valley, who arrives having notched up back-to-back wins in the spring. Sadie Hill is another to consider.

KESTREL VALLEY was an emphatic winner over C&D when last seen and could take a bit of stopping if new trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies has her in similar form for this reappearance. Spitfire Girl is the obvious danger having finished first past the post off this mark at Ffos Las recently (subsequently demoted to second).

It is hard to escape the claims of SPITFIRE GIRL, especially returning to a right-handed track.
Class & Speed Card

Lady Ava must be considered after scoring off 3lb lower at Catterick last month, but she was doing her best work at the finish of that 7f contest and the drop back in trip is a concern. With that in mind, CYPRIOT DIASPORA is fancied to defy a 5lb rise for scoring over this trip at Leicester 31 days ago as she's improving with each run. The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye. Recent Kempton winner Charlie Mason has been a model of consistency this year and should give another good account.

LADY AVA showed a good attitude to get up at Catterick last month and there's further progress on the cards, so she's narrowly preferred to fellow last-time-out winner Cypriot Diaspora. Charlie Mason also merits respect in a tightly-knit contest.

Preference is for Leicester scorer CYPRIOT DIASPORA, ahead of Catterick winner Lady Ava.
Class & Speed Card

A relatively low draw and the return to further might prove crucial to the chances of TYKE, who left it late to get up over 6f at Southwell last month. The son of Bobby's Kitten, who is now 2-3 on an artificial surface, remains open to further improvement after just six career starts and a subsequent 4lb rise could underestimate him. Surprise Picture hit the woodwork over C&D three weeks ago and is entitled to be thereabouts, along with Abbey's Dream.

ABBEY'S DREAM is on the up since fitted with cheekpieces and, following a good second at Newcastle, she's worth a chance to resume winning ways at the possible expense of Surprise Picture, who goes well at this track. Tyke is another one to consider.

Visibility and THAPA VC appeal most. The selection is likely to get the strong pace he needs in today's field.
Class & Speed Card

Petticoat Lucy stayed on to win well when stepped up to 2m5f at Newton Abbot in May but the drop back in trip and a subsequent layoff might be enough to prevent her from defying a 6lb rise. With that in mind, the vote goes to SURTITLE, who bumped into a useful sort when second in his bid for a double at Uttoxeter in June and returns off the same mark for a yard in good form. Midnight Midge won a three-runner contest on his latest outing in March and warrants respect off 1lb higher.

PETTICOAT LUCY did plenty right when making a winning start over fences at Newton Abbot in the spring and could make a successful return. Surtitle is interesting starting out in this sphere for Fergal O'Brien, while Midnight Midge can go well fresh again.

Top of the list is PETTICOAT LUCY (nap), who created a pretty good impression when surging clear to make a winning chase debut in May.
Class & Speed Card

Gerard Mentor was only denied by a head when second in a similar event at Exeter 12 days ago and should go well again, but a 4lb rise makes life tougher and preference is for EZ TIGER. The Alex Hales-trained gelding got within a short head of landing a double at Southwell last month and a 3lb rise shouldn't prevent this in-form six-year-old going close again. Starlight Glance could be well treated off bottom weight on her handicap debut.

Though he arrives on a long losing run, STONIFIC has fallen a long way in the weights since his latest success and looks ready to strike judged on his placed efforts at Southwell and Ludlow the last twice. Gerard Mentor is a much-respected main danger having returned to form when going close at Exeter recently and, like the selection, he is on a good mark. East End Girl is a live each-way candidate, a remark which also applies to Ez Tiger and the lightly-raced Starlight Glance.
Class & Speed Card

WILLINGLY won on deep Nottingham ground just six days ago and, providing this doesn't come too soon, she's taken to follow up under a 5lb penalty. Owen Lewis claims 7lb in the plate this time, taking over from a 5lb claimer at the Midlands venue, so she's effectively just 3lb higher. Enchanted Night has been knocking on the door of late and would be no surprise winner, while chances are also given to Porterinthejungle and Cuban Grey.

WILLINGLY was better than ever scoring with a bit in hand at Nottingham last week and can defy a penalty with ground conditions in her favour again. Porterinthejungle and Enchanted Night are other mares who arrive in form and may give Mark Usher's charge most to do.

Willingly has a solid chance under a penalty but it might be worth chancing KITBAG on his second run back from a break.
Class & Speed Card

Having been narrowly denied at Lingfield on her racecourse debut, QUEEN'S MUSIC didn't appear to be in love with the undulations at Epsom last month, where she hung left when weakening. This should be more suitable, though, and Jack Channon's charge is fancied to strike at the third time of asking. Muhaarar colt Dashing Darcey looks an interesting prospect on his first start and is worth monitoring in the betting, while Keep My Secret is also noted.

KEEP MY SECRET offered something to work on on her recent debut and, with improvement on the cards over this 1f longer trip, she's put forward as the answer. Dashing Darcey is a newcomer to note in a race of this nature, while Serengeti Sunrise and Road To Wembley are others capable of having a say.

Road To Wembley and SERENGETI SUNRISE appeal as likely improvers and the latter is marginally preferred over todays' trip.
Class & Speed Card

With no form to go on, the market may prove the best guide to these newcomers but there is plenty to like about the chances of SORCELEUR. He cost 35,000 euros and represents an in-form yard with a fine strike-rate at this venue over the last five years, so it would be no surprise to see him make a winning start. The David Pipe-trained Marrakushi is closely related to a few winners and the 30,000-pound purchase must be respected, along with Mapogo and Caustic, who cost 75,000gns.

A big line-up of unraced 3-y-os and the betting may help, with CAUSTIC, Dodger Long and Sorceleur the three selected against the field as things stand.

Flat-orientated stables have won four of the last seven runnings of this race and CAUSTIC is a rare bumper runner for Owen Burrows.
Class & Speed Card

IRISH CHORUS made an encouraging debut when third at Newbury in March, form that has been boosted by two of those behind her scoring since, and she looks a big player with improvement expected following that initial experience. Navajo Indy was only held by a length at Kempton when last seen in March and has claims on that form, while Matchadam cost 50,000gns following a point-to-point success and he's of interest on his debut under Rules.

DIAMOND DICE, Bellas Bridge and Matchadam are all of strong interest starting out under Rules for respected yards. The first-named is the only member of the trio who failed to make a winning debut between the flags, but he may well have done so but for falling at the last and it will look significant if the market speaks in his favour. Navajo Indy looks the pick of those with experience in this sphere and he merits respect.

A reasonable standard is set by NAVAJO INDY and he could make it third time lucky.
Class & Speed Card

This won't take much winning and connections of RATAFIA have found their gelding another very winnable opening following his smooth Redcar triumph. That didn't come out of the blue either, as he'd previously shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up at Leicester. Inverinate remains winless on turf but does look feasibly treated on the pick of his form, while Delagate The Lady is noted too.

RATAFIA revelled in deep ground at Redcar the other day and might be able to follow up faced with similar conditions. Once Adaay's latest Wolverhampton sixth was a bit more encouraging and he heads the dangers along with fellow 3-y-o Inverinate.

In-form RATAFIA is taken to defy a penalty for his Redcar win. Possible improver Star Map is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Not the strongest of contests, in which preference is for CHEESE THE ONE. Stella Barclay's filly has improved since being fitted with blinkers, winning over C&D in August before posting two creditable efforts thereafter. The talented Harry Davies is aboard for the first time and she would not need much more to come out on top. Outreach, Reversion and Hannah's Return are the dangers.

CHEESE THE ONE arrives on the back of a solid showing at Kempton and, if things drop right, she could get back to winning ways in a race where most have something to prove. Outreach is likely to be on the premises and Hannah's Return is worthy of interest if strong in the betting.

This won't take much winning and LYNWOOD LAD (nap) appeals on his C&D third two runs ago. He was hamstrung by a wide draw last time.
Class & Speed Card

STONEY LANE won over C&D in August and he arrives here just 2lb higher in the ratings despite filling second place on his most recent outing at Newcastle. The eight-year-old gets the vote as a result, although Intoxicata has not been disgraced on her last couple of starts and is an obvious threat. Others to note are Flavius Titus and Available Angel.

The vote goes to INTOXICATA, who has performed well over a mile the last twice and is presented with a good opportunity to resume winning ways back at what appears to be her optimum trip. Rebel Redemption's recent form isn't overly inspiring, but the handicapper is showing mercy and he could be a threat, while Flavius Titus and Stoney Lane both have claims.

The vote goes to AVIARY. She's a well treated C&D winner who did pretty well to be beaten less than 3l from stall 12 here latest.
Class & Speed Card

Age Of Time took a step forward when getting off the mark over C&D last month and the son of Dubawi has to be respected. That said, he may struggle to successfully concede 12lb to WINTERFAIR, who caught the eye when fifth on her racecourse bow over 7f at Sandown a month ago. Show Biz Kid is another with valid form claims, while Starshine Legend is a newcomer to note.

AGE OF TIME opened his account in ready fashion over C&D last time and is fancied to defy a penalty with the scope for another improved showing. Starshine Legend is an interesting newcomer and Winterfair should step up on her promising debut.

This can go to AGE OF TIME who did not have to work too hard for his recent C&D win and is likely to improve further.
Class & Speed Card

Bellagio Man arrives on the back of a victory over this trip at Newcastle but a 3lb rise for that head success makes life tougher and preference is for fellow double seeker REGAL ENVOY. He has gone up 6lb for a C&D victory 17 days ago but he made all with plenty to spare that day and a similar effort may suffice. Intervention filled the runner-up berth off this mark at Kempton last week and he's another to consider.

INTERVENTION left the strong impression that his turn is near when finding only an unexposed 3-y-o too good at Kempton recently, and he is taken to go one better here off the same mark. Regal Envoy has been raised 6 lb for his C&D success earlier this month, but he was a decisive winner that day and will be a threat if in a similar mood. Crimson Angel is respected back on the all-weather and should be in the mix, along with Vespasian.

Intervention looks well ahead of his mark if settling better but KODI RED appeals as being favourably treated too.
Class & Speed Card

Miss Anya and Elliott have been running well in defeat and should have their say again, but they may be playing for places behind LADY BOUQUET. Philip Kirby's filly hacked up over this C&D before finding one too good off her revised mark at Chelmsford 10 days ago, and she should relish a return to this venue. Hollie Doyle returning to the saddle is another positive.

LADY BOUQUET has upped her game since switched to AW and she's worth a chance to get back to winning ways having been successful over C&D earlier in the month. Elliott is an obvious danger and an improved showing from South Parade would come as no surprise.

This may be the day for ELLIOTT who finished a close third at Newcastle on Friday. The return to an easier 5f may suit him even better.
Class & Speed Card

STAY SMART was in good heart on turf in the summer and, with winning C&D form in the book, he should go well off top-weight on his return to this venue. Mark Loughnane's gelding just gets the vote ahead of Bankrupt, who has gone up 2lb for a narrow victory over 6f at Kempton and the drop in trip is no concern, while Nordic Glory is another last-time-out winner to consider.

NORDIC GLORY overcame a slow start to score at Lingfield 19 days ago and he remains well treated on old form, so he's marginally preferred to fellow last-time-out winner Bankrupt. Mucky Mulconry could also feature if blinkers perk him up.

The vote goes to GUSTAV GRAVES who has a good record when drawn low around here and has another favourable berth today.
Class & Speed Card

A return to the all-weather sparked a revival for MASTER OF COMBAT, who powered home to score in style from a subsequent winner here three weeks ago, and a 4lb rise may not be enough to halt him. Distinguished Lady has been threatening to score but a bigger threat may be posed by Hale End, who was knocking on the door in the summer and remains feasibly treated.

MASTER OF COMBAT did well to pick up one that had got first run as readily as he did when scoring over 8.6f here 3 weeks ago, and a 4 lb rise is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from going in again. Fellow last-time-out winner Glory Nights is second choice ahead of Lucky San Jore and Hale End.

Dual C&D winner LUCKY SAN JORE is back off the same mark as when winning this race last year so he gets the vote.
Ths is the racecard key.
