13:35 Redcar Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sacred Falls finally got her head in front over 6f at Ayr last time and another bold bid can be expected, but the nod goes to the reopposing MERESIDE DIVA. David and Nicola Barron's charge was only a half-length behind the winner on that occasion and she appears to have a good chance of reversing that form off 2lb better terms here. Fellow last-time-out winner Hardy Angel heads the remainder with this extra yardage likely to suit.

MERESIDE DIVA was unable to get past Sacred Falls at Ayr last time but she's on slightly better terms and fancied to turn the tables in a race that the pair may dominate. Hardy Angel returned to form to score marginally at Hamilton recently, so he's another one to consider.

Isle Of Dreams will be dangerous back at a sharper track but SACRED FALLS (nap) looks the type to carry on improving with experience

Go To War

6/4(+25%)
(4) Go To War 6/4, Made appeal on paper and off the mark at first time of asking in 11-runner bumper here 12 months ago. Built on that promise when eighth of 20 in Grade 2 event at Aintree 6 months later and should have a good future as a hurdler.
Debut win here reads well and was then eighth of 20 in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree.
(1) Macanogue (6/1 +14%)
Macanogue

6/1(+14%)
(1) Macanogue 6/1, Improved when landing a gamble in 14-runner maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan (16f, good to soft) in May, all out. Sold out of Luke Comer's yard for £30,000 later that month and the suspicion is he'll need to improve again to defy a penalty.
The winner of an Irish maiden hurdle and might be vulnerable with his penalty.

(7) Making Headway 8/1, £35,000 3-y-o, £50,000 4-y-o, Malinas gelding. Successful on second of 2 starts in Irish points (Nov 2022) and warrants respect on Rules debut. Engaged 2,25 Carlisle Thursday.

(3) Goodwin 9/2, Confirmed debut promise when easily landing 9-runner bumper at Fontwell (17.7f, good) in February, suited by longer trip. Much respected now going hurdling.

(2) Damarta (10/1 -25%)
Damarta

10/1(-25%)
(2) Damarta 10/1, Carried over his headstrong tendencies from bumpers but still caught the eye when just failing to snatch third on hurdling debut here (16.8f) in May. Still in need of the experience when below that level on his recent return at Newton Abbot and remains with potential.
Can be headstrong and again he was never dangerous at Newton Abbot.
(5) Impatient (15/2 -50%)
Impatient

15/2(-50%)
(5) Impatient 15/2, Quite expensive as a store horse and showed plenty to work on when second in a Newcastle bumper in December. Run best excused (stumbled after halfway) at Ayr 4 months later so better judged on debut form ahead of this switch to hurdling.
Others achieved more in the bumper scene but he's a likely improver over hurdles.
(9) Getaway Glory (20/1 -43%)
Getaway Glory

(9) Getaway Glory 20/1, €17,000 3-y-o, £40,000 4-y-o, Getaway gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chase winner Vintage Fizz and point/bumper winner Fameaftertheglory. Won only start in Irish points in April and rates an interesting Rules debutant for respected yard.

Yard done well in this race; wouldn't be the obvious answer on what he's shown.

(11) Orbys River 80/1, €13,000 3-y-o, £8,000 5-y-o, Ol' Man River mare. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Clash of D Titans. Dam pulled up both starts in points. Failed to complete both starts in Irish points, fell latest (May 7).
In second when falling late on in her second Irish point; form looks nothing special.
(10) James Baie (100/1 +0%)
James Baie

100/1(+0%)
(10) James Baie 100/1, Unplaced sole outing in points and showed only modest form in a pair of bumpers for Harriet Dickin. Needs a big step forward on hurdle/yard debut.
Some bumper promise for previous yard; up against it in a novice of this nature.

My Monty

(8) My Monty 125/1, Showed a bit more than previously in a first-time tongue strap when fourth of 9 at Stratford (16.3f, heavy) on final outing in bumpers. Off 6 months and needs to improve plenty more on hurdle debut.
Ran better in his final bumper at Stratford but was still beaten about 16l.
LTO Selection:

13:40 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GO TO WAR made the ideal start to his career when scoring in a bumper at this track last October before taking his chance in the Grade 2 at Aintree in the spring. He wasn't disgraced in finishing eighth on that occasion and the five-year-old gets the vote on his hurdling bow. Goodwin displayed promise in a couple of bumper outings, winning on the second occasion at Fontwell, and he is likely to pose a solid threat, along with Macanogue, who has winning form over timber in Ireland.

GO TO WAR is bred to be suited by longer trips, but he certainly didn't look slow when seeing off a subsequent winner in a C&D bumper on his debut, so he's selected to make a successful start over hurdles for his red-hot stable. Fellow bumper winner Goodwin is another interesting hurdling newcomer, while Damarta remains with potential having still looked notably raw on his recent return at Newton Abbot.

Preference is for GO TO WAR, who beat a talented horse here on his bumper debut before a respectable effort in a Grade 2 at Aintree.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Redcar Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BURJ MALINKA was a comfortable winner over 6f at Hamilton on his penultimate start before disappointing on his follow up bid, but he is fancied to return to form here. Kats Bob is feared most after scoring over 6f at Newcastle last time and he is capable of defying a 5lb rise for that win, while Glendown heads the remainder.

BURJ MALINKA beat only one at Hamilton last time but is worth forgiving that run which possibly came too quickly so he edges the vote in this tight-knit handicap. Recent Newcastle scorer Kats Bob is next on the list ahead of in-form pair Catch Cunningham and Glendown.

Kats Bob is high on the list but CATCH CUNNINGHAM is eased in grade and ran with more promise at Pontefract 11 days ago.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This appears to be the weaker of the two divisions with the tentative vote going to HAVOCK. The five-year-old shaped with some promise when fourth on his penultimate start at Warwick on New Year's Eve and a repeat of that display might prove to be enough. Toonagh Warrior is respected on his debut for Stuart Edmunds having placed on his hurdles debut at Kilbeggan last month. Others to note include Ballynaheer and Chantilly Rose.

A few with chances and the market could prove highly revealing. Ex-Irish TOONAGH WARRIOR holds the edge on form so gets the vote on his debut for Stuart Edmunds ahead of Dan Skelton's hurdling newcomer Havock. Olly Murphy's debutant Bitsnbuckles is another who could have a say in an open-looking contest.

If HAVOCK can tap into the promise he showed in his second bumper then he could take the beating in a weak race.

LTO Selection:

14:33 Fakenham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Point-to-point winner DOC MCCOY showed a solid level of form in bumpers last season and Jamie Snowden's gelding appears to have every chance of making a winning start over timber. Kilbarry Hill was narrowly denied between the flags at Dromahane in April and might be the chief threat, while Grangeclare North and Mighty Duchess look set to fight out third place.

DOC MCCOY showed enough in bumpers to suggest he can pick up a race or two over hurdles and is preferred to Olly Murphy's Irish point recruit Kilbarry Hill.

The best of these in bumpers, and already a 2m4f winner to boot, DOC MCCOY gets the nod over ex-Irish pointer Kilbarry Hill.

14:45 Redcar Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EYE OF DUBAI made a promising start to his career when beaten just a neck over 6f at Chester on his racecourse debut and this looks like a good opportunity to go one better. It took a while for the penny to drop for John Quinn's charge on that occasion and he is likely to be more polished for that experience. Westend Avenue is the biggest danger to the selection, while Beale Street can build on his first appearance.

A weak novice so a good opportunity for EYE OF DUBAI, who went close on his debut at Chester 3 weeks ago. The Bobster and Beale Street both offered something to work on first-time out so are feared most.

The form choice is EYE OF DUBAI, who came home well at Chester once the penny finally dropped. Beale Street is second choice.

(3) Conkwell Legend 4/1, Low-mileage 9-y-o who resumed winning ways at Plumpton (20.5f) in March and ran equally as well in defeat when runner-up from 9 lb higher mark at Ffos Las (20f) a month later, noted staying on well. Longer trip may unlock a little more progress returning from 6 months off.

(5) Ballydisco 5/1, Improved for switch to handicaps/step up in trip, career-best effort when bagging second career success under his regular pilot at Chepstow (23.6f) in April. No surprise where he capable of better again this term given low-mileage profile.

(4) Martha Brae 6/1, Consistent last season and she gained due reward when adding to her tally at Hereford (25.5f) in March. Matched that form when runner-up from revised mark at Warwick (25f) in April and she returns to action with her leading yard amongst the winners. Possibilities.

Better over fences but still competitive over hurdles earlier this year; had wind op.
LTO Selection:

14:50 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

ESPOIR DE ROMAY was last seen finishing third over C&D in May and the nine-year-old, who arrives following a wind operation, appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to get his head in front for the first time since March 2021, especially given his appreciation for testing conditions. Martha Brae was hugely consistent last season and she is likely to enter calculations once again. Ballydisco and Conkwell Legend appeal most of the remainder.

BALLYDISCO showed improved form in line with the longer trip switched to handicaps last term, producing a career-best display when doubling his career tally at Chepstow in April. The type to potentially do better still, he could be worth siding with on seasonal bow. Conkwell Legend and Espoir de Romay can emerge as the chief threats in a competitive affair.

Kim Bailey's ESPOIR DE ROMAY could have the class to defy top weight. He won his next race after his previous wind operation.

LTO Selection:

15:08 Fakenham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WESTERN SOLDIER was Group 3-placed on the Flat in Germany and he made a promising start to life over hurdles when a close-up third at Sedgefield nine days ago. Any progression can see the five-year-old open his account in this sphere, possibly at the main expense of Wise Guy. Jack The Savage sets the standard with an official rating of 103 and he might fare better having undergone wind surgery last month.

WESTERN SOLDIER ran to barely a fair level when a close third on his Sedgefield hurdling debut last week, but he ought to prove capable of much better judged on his useful Flat form and is taken to strike at the second time of asking in this sphere. Stuart Edmunds' runners are always worth a second look at this track and Wise Guy is second choice having shown promise on both his Rules starts to date.

It's worth giving another chance to WESTERN SOLDIER despite him coming up short in an ordinary maiden at Sedgefield.

EMERALDS PRIDE is seeking a four-timer after scoring by a nose over C&D last time and she is only 3lb higher for that display, so the four-year-old could prove very hard to beat once again. So Grateful filled the runner-up spot over this trip at Ayr on his latest outing and has to be considered off only 1lb higher. Of the remainder, Woobay and Zuffolo make the most appeal.

EMERALDS PRIDE has been a revelation since the cheekpieces went back on, completing the hat-trick by the narrowest of margins but pulling clear with the runner-up over this C&D last month, and she should make a bold bid for the 4-timer. Woobay will be suited by conditions so is next best ahead of the consistent So Grateful.

Woobay is respected back on turf but soft-ground winner CUBANISTA looks persevering with over 5f and is preferred.

Emitom made a perfect start to life with Alan King when landing the spoils at Newbury in March and he is likely to prove popular on his return to action. A 5lb rise doesn't appear insurmountable for the Gold Well gelding, but it may be worth taking a chance on fellow seasonal debutant BEAR GHYLLS. The handicapper has relinquished his grip on the eight-year-old and a wind procedure may unlock some improvement. Dolphin Square is another to note off an attractive rating.

EMITOM has tumbled in the weights and was evidently perked up by a yard switch when resuming winning ways at Newbury (24.2f) back in March. Remaining with plenty of handicapping scope on old form, he's fancied to make a bold bid on return. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in very good order and his Equinus is feared on return, with Dophin Square another to note given his particularly good record fresh.

All five are feasible winners off their current marks. EQUINUS (nap) is a second-season hurdler on a good mark and his yard is bouncing.

The Sam Thomas-trained inmate is expected to prove more competitive now returned to 2m and a breakthrough success could be in the offing for a yard in flying form. Lelant's opening mark looks workable judged on his runner-up effort at Ffos Las in March and he is feared most, ahead of Kapamazov, who should enjoy ground conditions.

JUST OVER LAND failed to meet expectations on his handicap bow at Chepstow in April but he's worth another chance given his overall profile. Lelant was also progressive prior to his last run so could well bounce back now handicapping.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

AWESOME FOURSOME landed a breakthrough success on heavy ground at Perth last month. The six-year-old is hard to oppose off only 7lb higher in the ratings, with his amateur jockey negating the rise with his allowance. My Gift To You has been in fine fettle since joining the James Owen yard and should give another good account of himself, while any market support for his stablemate King Otis would be interesting with Brian Hughes booked.

AWESOME FOURSOME added to his stable's good recent spell when landing a 12--runner handicap at Perth recently and he may well be up to overcoming a rise. My Gift To You can continue his good start for his current yard and his stablemate King Otis is a notable one on debut for the yard.

Proven effectiveness on slow ground may turn out to be key for AWESOME FOURSOME (nap) should the rain really set in, and he's preferred

LTO Selection:

16:25 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The last time CUSACK ran at this level, he scored comfortably over C&D last month and, having run well when upped in class the last twice, the son of Heeraat is taken to bounce back to winning ways. That may be at the main expense of fellow course winner Loom Large, who shouldn't be inconvenienced by the drop in trip, having travelled well over further last time out. Cloch Nua and Red Hat Eagle are entitled to be thereabouts.

The form of AL TARFA's second-placed efforts behind Belo Horizonte still appeals as strong for this grade and he was left with far too much to do at Chelmsford last time, so William Knight's gelding is fancied to confirm his previous promise here. Cusack has remained in good form since winning here last month and rates as a player, as does Loom Large, who was seen to good effect when scoring over further here earlier in the month but remains on a potentially-lenient mark.

This can go to LOOM LARGE, who won over 1m2f at this venue last time. That form has been franked and he is effective over shorter.

LTO Selection:

16:30 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BAY OF HOPE returned from a 58-day break to hit the frame at Ripon last month and he was subsequently dropped 1lb by the handicapper, which could help him to get his head back in front. Last-time-out winner Gentle Ellen has to be considered off a 2lb higher mark, while Sassoon and Ratafia are others to respect in an open contest.

CARIBBEAN SUNSET caught the eye at Newcastle last time and is taken to build on that promise and land a first turf win. Asmund and Sassoon are both former winners of this race and might give Grant Tuer's charge most to think about ahead of Jkr Cobbler.

This looks wide open but JKR COBBLER gets the vote ahead of last year's winner Asmund and Bay Of Hope.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Betty's Tiara drew 19 lengths clear with the runner-up when scoring by half a length on her debut in a bumper at Stratford in August and, despite shouldering a 7lb penalty, she merits the utmost respect in her follow-up bid. Preference, however, is for the Dan Skelton-trained LADY JAGO, who was a winner on her sole 3m point-to-point outing in April and the four-year-old possesses enough speed in her pedigree to suggest that she could land a race of this nature. Giver The Hollie and Chase Park are also worth a second look.

LADY JAGO has joined a powerful yard since landing an Irish point and this looks like a good starting point, so she's preferred to Betty's Tiara, who made a successful start at Stratford 50 days ago. Giver The Hollie, another one who has shown form between the flags, is also worthy of consideration.

A chance is taken on EASY TO FOLLOW, who coped well with testing conditions when competitive in all her Irish points.

16:40 Dundalk Claimer 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Celtic Crown set a clear standard prior to her withdrawal, which makes CAULAINCOURT's task a lot easier. Ger Lyons' gelding let down favourite-backers on his Dundalk debut, but was only just denied on his handicap bow at Naas prior to that and is selected on that basis. Last year's winner Dalvey, with blinkers now replacing cheekpieces, looks the pick of James McAuley's duo, and Autocrat shouldn't be far away either.

The useful CELTIC CROWN stands out on these terms and has performed well around here before, so should prove hard to beat. Dalvey and Caulaincourt are feared most.

CAULAINCOURT went close on h'cap bow 2 runs ago and is less exposed than Celtic Crown who comes out well at the weights

(3) Yccs Portocervo 16/1, Finally took advantage of a much-reduced mark returning from 7 months off at Uttoxeter in May and followed up there following month. Hit with a further 7 lb rise so career best probably required now back from another break.
Raised 13lb for his two Uttoxeter wins and he can struggle for form elsewhere.

16:53 Fakenham Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ARIZONA CARDINAL has unlocked some improvement since being switched back to 3m in April and the son of Kayf Tara could take some stopping off only 4lb higher than his Uttoxeter triumph the following month. The hat-trick seeking Yccs Portocervo has proved a different proposition since his seasonal debut in May and cannot be ruled out on his return from a 134-day break. Tweed Skirt and Brief Times could also play a part in proceedings.

Claims can be made for most with the vote going to TWEED SKIRT, who is back down in class on her return after a couple of respectable efforts in Grade 2s. Swapped and Arizona Cardinal head the dangers.

It was mostly good from NEON MOON last season after wind surgery and there were excuses the final time.

17:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ARTISAN DANCER never got a clear run over shorter here last time out, and compensation may await the progressive three-year-old as he steps back up in distance. A winner on his three previous starts, he may have too much for Spirit Of Ash, who won well here last time out, and should benefit from going up in trip. Sophar Sogood disappointed at Nottingham last time out, but is better judged on the form of his penultimate success at Kempton.

ARTISAN DANCER completed a hat-trick across August and September and seemed most unlucky not to extend his winning sequence here last time, building up a head of steam when denied a run on the stand rail well inside the final 1f. He's proven over this trip and is a more straightforward sort than Spirit of Ash, who was most impressive when winning over 12.5f here last week. She rates as the clear main danger under a penalty, with Bobby Shaftoe fancied to complete the placings.

Spirit Of Ash, Bobby Shaftoe and Kiss My Face are considered seriously but ARTISAN DANCER can return to winning ways.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go the way of RUN ZARAK RUN, who showed plenty of promise on her debut over 1m2f at Leicester last month and that form has worked out well. The booking of Hayley Turner is another plus and she is preferred to the Wolverhampton winner Verbier as well as the eight-race maiden Supreme King, who must be of interest on his first start for the David Evans yard.

RUN ZARAK RUN made a positive start when third in a Leicester maiden and looks the way to go with progress very much on the cards from this daughter of Zarak. Verbier and Shiva Shakti both have six-month absences to overcome but still merits plenty of respect and need factoring in.

Run Zarak Run shaped well on last month's debut. However, VERBIER may turn out to be good enough to defy the penalty.

17:15 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Being held up seemed to work well for MARALINGA at Tipperary early last month so a wide draw here isn't a huge concern. He was a cosy winner last time and, despite a 10lb hike for that, could still be on a competitive mark. The Footstepsinthesand gelding has run well here in the past as well. The Mpex Kid looks the obvious danger having won here last week. He was maybe value for a bit more than his three-quarters of a length win and should run well under 7lb more. Jaafel has been running consistently and it was a solid effort to finish third in a strong contest won by Migdam here last week. He's another that has to come into calculations.

ONLY FOR ME remains a maiden but he's gone with plenty of zest on each of his last 2 starts in maidens and, ridden with a little more restraint returned to handicaps, he could well be up to playing a lead role from this career-low mark. The Impex Kid arrives on the back of success here and is a big threat, with Jaafel and Kitty McFee others in the mix.

LTO Selection:

17:25 Fakenham Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bashers Reflection has won a shade cosily on his last two starts and Ben Case's upwardly-mobile gelding must enter calculations off only 5lb higher in his bid to land a hat-trick. However, ENTHUSED still appeared to be ahead of the handicapper when scoring in ready fashion at Huntingdon on Tuesday and makes slightly more appeal, despite having a 7lb penalty to overcome. Chaos Control drops in class and also warrants consideration.

Competitive fare with the narrow vote in favour of EDISON KENT. He wasn't at his very best at Huntingdon on his latest outing 10 days ago but there had been much more encouraging signs from his reduced mark previously and the booking of Harry Cobden is an eye-catching one. The selection's stablemate Enthused has thrived this year and is feared. Ilanz and Bashers Reflection complete the shortlist.

Still progressing over 2m3f-2m4f (including here on soft), BASHERS REFLECTION can make a winning return. Edison Kent is next best.

Elegant Madame drops in class having finished down the field in Listed company at Leopardstown last time out, while South Kensington is another to note.

Previous-winners LAST APPLAUSE and Elegant Madame could be the pair to focus on, with preference narrowly for Brian Ellison's filly. Riccoboni is an interesting newcomer.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Due to go up 8lb in the future, FOURSOME is very well treated on the back of an easy success at Nottingham last week. The four-year-old shouldn't have an issue returning to better ground and she gets the vote ahead of Shifter, who got up late to score over C&D last time out. The consistent Bay Of Naples must enter calculations, along with Broctune Red and Stockbridge Tap.

With rain in the forecast FOURSOME might get similar ground to when bolting up at Nottingham last week, in which case she could take a bit of stopping off effectively only 1 lb higher. Lucinda Russell pair Stockbridge Tap and Cuban Cigar head the dangers along with recent C&D winner Shifter.

Her previous 22 races, all defeats, are not forgotten but FOURSOME had her first run on heavy ground last Wednesday and won well.

17:45 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MARTINSTOWN ran much better on his second start back when third here last week and there looks more to come from the Galileo colt. He stayed on over a mile and a half to finish third to Ceallach and is fancied to go close now despite dropping back in trip. A strong pace here should suit. San Andreas has gained all his wins over shorter but ran well in Listed company over course and distance when third to Piz Badile late last month. Conor Stone-Walsh takes a useful 7lb off his back now to ease the burden of top-weight. Slieve Binnian was a course and distance three weeks ago and has to be respected in a higher grade now.

MARTINSTOWN is a lightly-raced sort who showed much improved form despite not being seen to best effect when a close third here last week, so he's an appealing candidate from only 2 lb higher in the weights. Cordouan is weighted to reverse C&D form with Slieve Binnian, while San Andreas is another to consider.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TORVAR is set to go up 1lb for future races after finishing a solid third over C&D last time out, despite having to be switched after failing to get a clear run which cost him ground, and, with Danny Tudhope on board, he won't get many better chances to win a nursery. Fellow top-weight Louella is an obvious danger after going under by a short-head at Catterick, while Dadas Boy may go well if Hollie Doyle can bring the best out of him.

TORVAR has got back on track upped to 6f on his last 2 outings, finishing well after meeting trouble when third at this C&D a week ago, so he could be ready to get off the mark this time around. Louella has placed on all 3 of her starts in nurseries and isn't taken lightly, while Socialise is another who merits consideration.

KING OF GOSFORD, a winner over course and distance a fortnight ago, is fitted with cheekpieces now and looks open to further improvement. He is lightly raced in handicap company and it would be a surprise if he didn't have another big run in him off 76. Uncle Albert has been running well in nurseries and is place material, while it is also worth keeping an eye on McTenett.

A big-field nursery with a tentative vote going to STARLINER, who is faced with a far more suitable assignment than in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket last week. What A Squeeze is another who could bounce back now returned to handicap company, with last-time-out winner King of Gosford completing the shortlist.

18:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Mart could be interesting on his first start for Dylan Cunha having been gelded after finishing sixth when sent off favourite here in August, but he will need a big step forward to get the better of ZACHARY. A comfortable winner on his only start on the all-weather at Chelmsford last time out, he has a 6lb penalty, but is due to go up 7lb for future contests. He might follow up that success, leaving Lotting's Lass as an interesting alternative after her Catterick third.

MACARONE showed improved form when getting off the mark at Beverley in August, before finding 6f on soft ground too much of a test last time, so he can resume winning ways as he returns to this shorter trip. Zachary made a successful all-weather debut 6 days ago and is feared most, ahead of Lotting's Lass.

18:45 Dundalk Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

VON KROLOCK hails from a yard in great form and should go close if adapting to this surface on this first visit to the track. The selection was placed twice in big-field handicaps over this trip at Cork and had Pallasmore Lass about two lengths behind when just denied by Rock Dandy (won again since). Eglish is an obvious threat having won five times at this venue including three over this trip. He's dropped down to a lowly mark and shaped very well after a summer break over the minimum trip here a fortnight ago. Hale Bopp comes here off the back of a course win over a mile last month, while Coviglia won twice at this venue last year and didn't enjoy a clear passage at Thurles last time.

EGLISH returned from a lay-off with a good second here and can go one better now and capitalise on a reduced mark. Course-winner Coviglia and recent course scorer Hale Bopp appeal as the chief threats to James McAuley's mare and can chase home the selection in that order.

19:00 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LIGHT SPEED was slowly away on his Southwell debut when running green until the penny finally dropped and he can only improve for that experience, making him a potential player here. Moon Flight has the form in the book after a fourth here over a furlong shorter, but he was beaten over seven lengths and needs to step up to get off the mark, leaving Ribble Rouser to look to repeat or better his June third on the return to 7f.

Having made an encouraging start to his career, MOON FLIGHT ran below the level of his first 2 starts when fourth of 8 at this course 3 weeks ago, but he is taken to bounce back returned to this longer trip. He can get the better of Ribble Rouser, who can also leave behind a lesser effort after a break, with Light Speed the pick of the remainder.

LTO Selection:

19:15 Dundalk Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ROCK DANDY has progressed steadily since joining Pat Murphy this year scoring twice in the space of five days over this trip at Cork and Roscommon. He probably didn't appreciate soft ground subsequently at the Listowel Festival and is an interesting contender on his first try on the polytrack surface. Bucky Larson has three course wins to his credit over a mile and, while without a victory in nearly a year, has dropped down to an attractive mark. Jalo was claimed out of Noel Meade's yard after getting up on the line to win a maiden over six here last time and, having been tried over various distances, this could well be his optimum trip. Mr Stanley was placed a number of times over this trip for Richard Hannon and now makes his first start for Leanne Breen.

Colin Keane takes the ride again on JALO who gets the nod to add to his recent maiden claiming win over 6f here. Red Cymbal was a good third in a handicap over a shorter trip here last time and is feared most ahead of Mullacash Buzz who hasn't fired on turf lately but knows where the winning post is here.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The draw is a concern for NOVAK, but it is feasible a berth in stall one might even prove beneficial if the action develops down the centre of the course. A winner over this trip off 6lb lower at Ayr in May, Iain Jardine's gelding also boasts some respectable C&D form and shades the vote in an open contest. Ventura Rascal is feared most of those drawn higher, with Southwell specialist Love Your Work also considered after a respectable second here last month.

LOVE YOUR WORK arrives in good form and figures off a handy mark. He can return to winning ways. Roaring Ralph and Ventura Rascal can also make their presence felt.

LTO Selection:

19:45 Dundalk Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SHE'S IN THE GAME is well suited by this trip and appreciated a switch to this surface when scoring twice over C&D last winter. The Bill Farrell-trained mare didn't enjoy much luck in running when reappearing after a summer break at Fairyhouse last month but finished well when beaten less than two lengths behind Plume Noire and may bolster her good record at this venue under regular partner Neve Bennett. Vadiana was soundly beaten in that aforementioned Fairyhouse event but appears better suited by a sounder surface and was successful on her only previous outing at this venue in a mile maiden last December. Many Tears bids for a quick follow up after scoring over C&D last Friday, while Alabama Pearl ran well on her only previous all-weather start here last year and was probably unsuited by soft ground at the Curragh last time.

MANY TEARS is still unexposed and found improvement to score over C&D a week ago, so she's well worth a chance to follow up. She's In The Game is a definite threat and Pink Sorrel is liable to bounce back from a poor run.

Dual C&D winner SHE'S IN THE GAME was unlucky-in-running in a Fairyhouse handicap last time but can make amends back on this surface.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SHOWTIME MAHOMES exploited a drop in the ratings when winning at Musselburgh on his penultimate start and, having finishing a close third in an apprentice handicap over C&D off the same mark 18 days ago, he offers strong appeal with regular partner Sam James back in the saddle. Recent Ayr winner Alpine Sierra is unexposed on the all-weather and is another to consider, with Slippin Jimmy and Tuscan a couple of others likely to go well.

Preference is for TUSCAN, who has been cut plenty of slack by the handicapper and recent efforts have suggested a return to winning ways is on the cards. Alpine Sierra and Showtime Mahomes should also go well.

LTO Selection:

20:15 Dundalk Maiden 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

RATTLETHEONIONBAG and Cross Border are closely matched on running behind Dagoda over this trip at the Curragh this summer with slight preference given to the Willie Browne-trained filly. The selection was making her debut when finishing well from off the pace to take third on that occasion but the combination of an extra furlong and different tactics didn't see her to best advantage next time at Fairyhouse. Cross Border had Ballysax Lil' Mick about two lengths behind when third at Down Royal last month and was probably unsuited by testing ground at Bellewstown last time. Apple A Dey appears held on that aforementioned Curragh race won by Dagoda while Gerrit's Gem, a half-brother to Group 3 winner Power Under Me, and If But Maybe are two newcomers to keep a close eye on.

BOLD OPTMIST showed ability amidst greenness when fifth at Fairyhouse 100 days ago and there's improvement on the cards, so he's fancied to open his account in first-time cheekpieces. Cross Border is an obvious danger and Rattletheonionbag is a player if able to bounce back to her debut form.

Just in front of Cross Border over this trip at the Curragh when making her debut, RATTLETHEONIONBAG(nap) can confirm that form.

80/1(-100%)
(3) Shotley Royale 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, last of 12 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Hard to fancy.
Yet to build on his debut, including when well held over C&D on recent h'cap debut (100-1).
LTO Selection:

20:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Arriving on the back of a couple of near-misses, NOTEABLE is still competitively weighted and, given she is proven on a Tapeta surface, has a solid chance of gaining a first career success. William Pyle has build up a rapport with the selection over the last couple of months and his 5lb claim is a handy asset on these terms. One Of Our Own commands respect based on her recent turf form, while The Gay Blade completes the shortlist from the bottom of the handicap.

This can go to NOTEABLE, who has come close in recent starts and her useful pilot can claim a valuable 5 lb. One of Our Own and The Gay Blade rate the principal dangers.
