There were 35 Races on Friday 8th November 2024 across 5 meetings. There was 7 races at Exeter, 6 races at Fontwell, 6 races at Hexham, 8 races at Newcastle, 8 races at Dundalk, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.

Skyjack Hijack readily brought up a four-timer when making all over an extended 2m7f at Newcastle last week and he warrants the utmost respect. That said, he may struggle to give weight and a beating to JACK BLACK. Dan Skelton's charge was far from disgraced when finishing a staying-on third in a tactically-run affair on his hurdling debut over an extended 2m at Newbury last season and he gets the nod to make a winning return for his in-form stable. Captain Bellamy is also noteworthy.

CAPTAIN BELLAMY went backwards from an impressive debut success in bumpers, but he retains potential now switching to hurdling and first time up could be the time to catch him. Skyjack Hijack has to concede plenty of weights but he's thriving at present and warrants plenty of respect. Jack Black can build on an encouraging hurdling debut at Newbury 9 months earlier and merits consideration, also.

Captain Bellamy and Skyjack Hijack are the ones he has to beat but JACK BLACK shaped nicely last season behind smart horses.

LAURENS BAY was beaten six lengths into second when making his hurdling debut at Stratford last month and he would have learned a great deal from that experience. With normal progression, he could prove hard to beat. Electric Mason took the silver medal home at Uttoxeter on his most recent outing and should go well on only his second start in this sphere, while Falstaff is worth a market check with Sam Twiston-Davies booked.

Bumper-winners ELECTRIC MASON and Laurens Bay showed enough on their respective debut in this sphere to think they will be winning races sooner rather than later, with marginal preference for the Chris Gordon inmate. Ami Bondhu is also open to progress so needs considering.

The big feature of this race is the rematch between ELECTRIC MASON and Laurens Bay. The former is narrowly preferred.

Only worn down late in the piece when second on his chase debut over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last week, KELCE is expected to build on that excellent effort. The six-year-old is preferred to proven stayer Gipsy Lee Rose, who scored over further at Kelso last November and was a winner at Newcastle latest, though seems to have a preference for softer ground. A respectable fourth on his return at Kelso last month, Return Fire cannot be ruled out either.

KELCE produced a near-fautless round of jumping when narrowly outpointed on his recent chase debut at Uttoxeter, and he will prove hard to beat off the same mark here (due to go up 3 lb for that effort) with improvement likely now moving up in trip. C&D winners Return Fire and Gipsy Lee Rose are taken to fill the places, in that order of preference, while chase-debutant Ange Endormi and Ocean Legacy are also worthy of consideration.

Unexposed chaser KELCE (nap) is 3lb ahead of the assessor and may prove difficult to beat. Return Fire is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

SORCELEUR showed up well for a long way before fading into second over an extended 2m2f here last month and, stepping back in trip with match-fitness under his belt, he should be tough to stop in his bid to go one place better. Yhprum's Law was in the process of making a solid debut over timber when coming down two from home at Carlisle and he looks the main danger. Kingston Joy will need to improve significantly for obstacles if she is to feature.

SORCELEUR, a progressive bumper performer, seems sure to improve on his opening hurdles effort when second here 17 days ago, so he's a straightforward choice. Wellington Arch is preferred to Yhpum's Law for forecast purposes.

This is an excellent opportunity for smart bumper horse SORCELEUR to make amends for his recent odds-on defeat here.
Class & Speed Card

Call Off The Dogs made it three wins from his last four starts when scoring by half a length over track and trip in September and it would be no surprise to see him get involved off 5lb higher. However, the vote goes to SAMAZUL, who made a victorious debut over fences when scoring in good style over 2m2f here last time and should improve for this rise in distance. Last-time-out winner West Orchard is another to take seriously.

SAMAZUL impressed with how he jumped/travelled when making a winning chase debut here (17.8f) 16 days ago. He promises to do better still judged by the manner of that success and makes plenty of appeal back up in trip. Sir Rock, with a reappearance run over hurdles behind him, and Call Off The Dogs, who has landed 3 of his last 4 starts here, can provide chief resistance.

With further improvement a possibility, SAMAZUL (nap) is taken to follow up his reappearance win. Call Off The Dogs is next best.
Class & Speed Card

A revelation on her first start for the Jennie Candlish stable last month when scoring at Worcester, FROMHERETOETERNITY might have a bit more improvement in her and the daughter of Doyen is taken to go in again. A bumper winner at Carlisle last December before competing at a much higher level the last twice, Just Call Me Lucy must be of interest on her hurdles bow, while Reina Blanca is another to monitor for market support.

Likely to develop into a match between JUST CALL ME LUCY and Fromheretoeternity, with marginal preference for the former in receipt of 7 lb in the hope she takes to hurdling at the first attempt.

Mark Walford's JUST CALL ME LUCY showed more than enough in bumpers to believe she can win a novice hurdle of this nature.
Class & Speed Card

This looks a good opportunity for CAPTAIN TEAGUE to get off the mark at the first time of asking over fences. The form of his Grade 1 Challow Novices' Hurdle victory last December has a strong look to it and it will be no surprise if he is able to take similarly high rank over the larger obstacles. Point-to-point winner Deafening Silence impressed when scoring over 2m4f in a Sandown Grade 2 last term and he merits respect on his chase bow. Daring Plan has plenty to find on ratings and should find easier assignments down the line.

Paul Nicholls has won 4 of the previous 6 renewals of this contest and he can enhance that excellent record further with CAPTAIN TEAGUE, who won half of his 4 starts over hurdles last season (including a Grade 1) and looks very much the type to make an impact in novice chases this term. Progressive hurdler Deafening Silence rates as the obvious danger also making his return/chase bow.

A match on their chasing debuts. CAPTAIN TEAGUE would be conceding 9lb to Deafening Silence in a handicap.
Class & Speed Card

CRAVEN BAY made it 2-2 since joining the Toby Lawes stable when scoring by a head at Hereford last time and is only 4lb higher for that triumph. The eight-year-old remains in the same grade and can complete the hat-trick. Fortuna Ligna occupied the runner-up berth in a stronger event than this at Cartmel on her latest outing in May and could have a say off the same mark. Heaven Smart completes the shortlist.

Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and CRAVEN BAY is fancied to defy another 4 lb rise in the weights and go 3-3 for Toby Lawes. Cartmel runner-up Fortuna Ligna appeals as the one to chase him home ahead of Heaven Smart and Ri Na Cuirte.

Maiden RI NA CUIRTE seems best when fresh and is interesting off a reduced mark back from a layoff. Craven Bay is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

A promising second on his hurdles debut at Wetherby last week, EXPRESS RUN outran his odds and, but for some jumping errors late on, he may well have gone closer. Justin Landy's charge is expected to have improved for that spin and he may have too much for Shadowfax Of Rohan, who performed with credit on his first start for new connections at Perth in August and could go well on his hurdles bow. Chasingouttheblues should relish the step up in trip and is another to bear in mind.

HELSGETAWAY showed plenty to work on when finishing midfield on hurdles debut at Wetherby 23 days ago and with that experience unlikely to be lost on him, he can find the requisite improvement and come out on top. Hurdles-debutant Shadowfax of Rohan and Chasingouttheblues are others to consider, along with the returning Kidman.

Today's longer trip should suit Chasingouttheblues, while the stiffer track ought to help HELSGETAWAY, whose dam was a dour stayer.
Class & Speed Card

JPR One has progressed nicely over fences, with the seven-year-old landing a Grade 2 at Lingfield in January. The Arkle ended up being a step too far, but the combination of a wind operation and a tongue-tie should aid his cause on his return to action. The vote, though, goes to Turners third DJELO, who has won first time out for the past three seasons and Venetia Williams' gelding appears capable of further progression. Red Rum winner Sans Bruit remains open to improvement, as does Etalon.

ETALON made giant strides forward following his switch to chasing last season, winning 3 times prior to shaping better than the bare result in Grade 1 company on his final start. Still unexposed and retaining potential for better still, he shades the vote on return, with Jpr One, who boasts a smashing record fresh, and Djelo heading up the dangers.

Djelo and JPR One can hold their own at Grade 1 level but Paul Nicholls reckons that SANS BRUIT has a lot more to offer.
Class & Speed Card

DOUBLE POWERFUL arrives here on the back of four wins and even a 14lb higher mark than his 24-length success at Worcester last month may not be enough to stop him. That said, Jilaijone was not disgraced on his return at Cheltenham recently and should not be underestimated. Kissman is also noted on his debut for these connections having won when last seen in France earlier in the year.

The 5-timer beckons for DOUBLE POWERFUL, who made mincemeat of another field of low-grade handicappers at Worcester last month and Neil Mulholland's 5-y-o is taken to defy a hefty 14 lb rise at the expense of Jilaijone, who remains without a win since his British debut (at this track) but ran creditably on his recent return at Cheltenham. French-recruit Kissman, who changed hands for €125,000 in July, rounds off the shortlist.

A chance is taken on JILAIJONE, who has an underwhelming strike-rate but looks interesting returned to the scene of his sole win.
Class & Speed Card

The Churchill Lad pipped Caithness over C&D, with Dream Jet back in third, before finding only one too strong when attempting to follow up at Carlisle. There is more to come from him, but a chance is taken on the fitness of ONE MORE STROKE. Donald McCain's five-year-old was a promising novice hurdler earlier in the year and lost little in defeat on his handicap debut at Newcastle. He has the potential to make up into a much better chaser, certainly one who is capable of handling a mark of 115.

Cases can be made for all the quintet, but the suggestion is CAITHNESS, who went down by a head to the race-fit The Churchill Lad on chasing debut over C&D 5 weeks ago and can turn the tables now 1 lb better off with that rival here. One More Stroke, who was runner-up on both starts in Irish points earlier in his career, rounds off the shortlist making his return/chase bow fitted in a tongue tie.

After his promising second on his chase debut over C&D last time CAITHNESS is taken to reverse the placings with The Churchill Lad.
Class & Speed Card

BRENDAS ASKING was value for further than the winning distance when getting off the mark at Ludlow on her return from a break. Kim Bailey's mare is going in the right direction and appears capable of defying a 7lb rise for that success. Versace Twentyone drops back in trip for her handicap debut, which is likely to see her in a better light. It's Easy and Asian Spice complete the shortlist.

ASIAN SPICE won twice at this venue last year and with last month's encouraging return under her belt, she's a solid alternative to Brendas Asking, who will doubtless be popular in the betting as a last-time-out winner. Of the rest, Miss Goldfire could improve now handicapping.

A few with chances but ASIAN SPICE was a winner on this card 12 months ago and history might repeat itself.
Class & Speed Card

SAFE DESTINATION took a big step forward when scoring readily over 3m at Market Rasen in September and the six-year-old should be capable of defying a 5lb rise in this company. Eurkash was well held when second over C&D a couple of weeks ago but a first-time visor could spark some improvement, while any market support for Proper Twelve would have to be noted on his return to action.

EURKASH hasn't won for a good while but he's not had much racing for current connections and his latest effort over C&D suggests he's ready to strike, so he's preferred to last-time-out winner Safe Destination. Proper Twelve is of interest if the market speaks in his favour on debut for a new yard.

It's a long time since his sole success but EURKASH holds a solid chance on recent C&D form. Pawpaw is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Mr Le Philosophe has shown very little since arriving from France, especially on the Flat the last twice, but it could mean he is dangerously well handicapped. Even so, it would take a big leap of faith to select him so NATIONAL QUESTION, who was a surprise second at Newcastle last week and is well-in here, gets the nod. Grifter is better than he showed in that race, while A Day To Dream offered a bit more encouragement at Sedgefield.

FOREST BLAZE has likely been brought along with handicaps in mind and his opening mark is lenient based on bumper form, so he gets the nod over fellow handicap debutant Mr Le Philosophe. National Question should also be considered after a solid showing at Newcastle 8 days ago.

As National Question lacks consistency the choice is GRIFTER who was in good form before a below-par run at Newcastle last week.
Class & Speed Card

Having scored on three of his last four outings, the hat-trick seeking Isle of Wolves must enter calculations in his current vein of form. However, the switch to Tapeta asks a different question of him and MOLINARI shades the vote. Martin Todhunter's seven-year-old romped home over an extended 1m4f here last week and a return to 1m2f shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Prince Achille and Walsingham are also noted.

The two that stand out are ISLE OF WOLVES and Molinari, both of whom are 6 lb 'well-in' under penalties following similarly emphatic recent victories at Nottingham and this course respectively. Though 0-24 on the all-weather, Harriet Bethell's charge has been placed 12 times on synthetics and he is marginally preferred. Walsingham is best of the rest.

Molinari (second choice) and Isle Of Wolves are both 6lb well in but INVERSION is open to improvement if she settles better.
Class & Speed Card

Having found only the 142-rated Hometown Boy just too strong in a novice event at Worcester, compensation could be on the cards for COCO MADEMOISELLE on this switch to handicap company. That was the six-year-old's seasonal/chase debut and a mark of 122 looks more than workable. Tea Clipper has fallen down to an attractive mark and isn't taken lightly in a first-time visor. Tom Lacey's charge is feared most, ahead of the returning Egbert.

A case can be made for a few of these but COCO MADEMOISELLE starts life in handicaps on an attractive mark so looks the way to go. Course-winner Striking A Pose rates the main threat to Dan Skelton's progressive sort, with Tightenourbelts, Beachcomber and Wiseguy all in the mix too in this competitive handicap.

This is a good handicap but a chance is taken on WISEGUY (nap), who ran his best race last season here on his comeback run.
Class & Speed Card

Mavis Pike has to be of interest having got off the mark over 2m at Fakenham last week, but a 7lb penalty has to be a slight concern. With that in mind, preference is for LADY CARO, who caught the eye when fourth at Plumpton recently and she may have more to offer here. Dreams Fled Away was second to Mavis Pike last time and is another to consider.

OFFICER OF STATE hasn't shown a great deal over hurdles so far, but he has to be of interest now handicapping off this mark given the level of ability he showed for Andre Fabre on the Flat. Dreams Fled Away is taken to reverse recent Fakenham placings with Mavis Pike on these revised terms, while Lady Caro makes each-way appeal.

Gearing's Point can go well back on a sound surface but OFFICER OF STATE could prove leniently treated on his handicap hurdle debut.
Class & Speed Card

Fainche proved costly to follow at the end of her last campaign and although she will have her supporters once more, she may need the ground a bit more testing. In contrast, BERGENTOWN has handled a sound surface to occupy the runner-up berth on two of his last three outings and might be able to boost a moderate strike-rate. Dequall also arrives on the back of a second, over C&D last month, and should be in contention again.

BERGENTOWN rates the pick of these weights on the back of his very good Sedgefield second so edges the vote in this very open handicap. The returning Fainche could emerge as the main danger now renuited with Brian Hughes, although Dequall, Twoplacesatonetime and Beat The Boum all need factoring in too.

A chance is taken on LADY HAMILTON who was in good form earlier in the year and should improve for last month's reappearance run.
Class & Speed Card

LIMA SIERRA shaped encouragingly when a staying-on third over an inadequate 5f here recently. That was the Kodi Bear filly's first appearance in handicap company and she looks ready to open her account on this return to 6f. The biggest threat may emerge in the shape of Aria's Dream, who arrives on the back of a surprise close-up second over C&D. Nursery debutant Bella Fortunata is bred to be better than her opening mark and market support would be interesting.

The Nigel Tinkler-trained fillies ARIA'S DREAM and Lima Sierra hold the most appealing claims, with ready preference for the former who left her previous form well behind when going close over C&D three weeks ago. Bella Fortunata hasn't shown much in her qualifying runs but it wouldn't be the greatest of surprises were she to take a step forward now switched to a nursery.

Nigel Tinkler could hold the key to the race and ARIA'S DREAM is taken to get the better of stablemate Lima Sierra.
Class & Speed Card

The fitting of a first-time hood seemed to work the trick for CENTARA when landing the spoils at Taunton in April. Paul Nicholls' six-year-old has since undergone a wind procedure and, given the recent upturn in form of the yard's runners, he could make light work of a 4lb higher mark on his return to action. Zodiac Star offered plenty of encouragement when second at Ludlow and another prominent role is forecast. King Of The Road may fare best of the remainder.

SUNNINGHILL was fair on the Flat and showed the benefit of his hurdling debut when an encouraging third in a novice at Uttoxeter last time, so he's worth a chance to make a successful early switch to handicaps from a potentially favourable mark. Juvenile Final Entry is an obvious threat and Centara is worthy of interest.

Difficult. A chance is taken on I HAVE A VOICE in the hope that he can tap back into his early promise on the back of wind surgery.
Class & Speed Card

Having disappointed on his last three appearances, Cash In has failed to build on a promising second at Ripon in early June and a change of surface will need to rejuvenate him, while Angel Of Mather's can only be watched after tailing off on debut at Catterick. This is likely to be fought out by last-time-out seconds Instant Bond and SAFANAH, with preference for the latter. Richard Fahey's filly has improved with each outing and her form looks a touch stronger.

SAFANAH has improved wih each of her three runs to date so Richard Fahey's filly is taken to go one better than her excellent recent Wolverhampton second. Cash In wasn't at his best when fifth at Catterick last time but still rates the main threat ahead of Instant Bond.

A repeat of either of CASH IN's two runs away from soft ground would suffice in a weak race. Safanah is feared most.
Class & Speed Card

Four of these chased home White Clover at Navan last month, with BEATRIX POWER the best of them in second. While an odds-on chance on that occasion, she is given the chance to recoup losses. Twotolose and Court Phoenix were third and fourth in that Navan contest, just half a length and a short head behind the selection. It'll come as no surprise if either manages to reverse the form. Without a win in 13 starts, Mint Man has been frustrating to follow. A runner-up three times at this venue, he certainly wouldn't be winning out of turn. Representing the in-form yard of Danny Murphy, Crystal Luna, who was sixth in that aforementioned Navan heat, is another worthy of consideration.

BEATRIX POWER may have just found a 4-month absence catching her out when runner-up in a Navan maiden 16 days ago and she's worth another chance to get off the mark on polytrack debut. Mint Man's best form entitles him to respect, and he's feared, ahead of Twotolose and Court Phoenix, who were both narrowly behind the selection last time.

The selection is the unexposed TWOTOLOSE who finished well at Navan last time and would have gone closer with more luck in running
Class & Speed Card

KRISTAL KLEAR arrives having won two of her last four starts, finishing second in the other two. Both victories have come on the all-weather, at Southwell and Wolverhampton, and the four-year-old has been found an excellent opportunity to continue her rich vein of form. Keep Me Stable is 2lb higher than her last winning mark and may prove to be the strongest threat to the selection, although first-time blinkers could make a difference for Lincoln Legacy.

KRISTAL KLEAR has been in excellent form and is well named in the context of this race as he should have too much for his rivals dropping back to a more suitable trip. Keep Me Stable is the likeliest to capitalise if the selection fluffs her lines and Lincoln Legacy isn't completely ruled out.

It's hard to get away from KRISTAL KLEAR, who's progressive on Tapeta. Keep Me Stable, who's currently 3-6 over C&D, is next best.
Class & Speed Card

This looks a good opportunity for GLYDE RANGER to follow up his recent C&D success. Slowly away and trailing the field, the Tom McCourt-trained chestnut made smooth headway in the straight and eventually eased to a remarkable four-length win. Newly-crowned champion apprentice James Ryan again takes the ride on the four-year-old and if the same patient tactics are deployed, he should prove hard to beat. With Nicola Burns claiming a valuable 7lb, Autocrat looks a danger. On what was his debut for Dick Donohoe, the No Nay Never bay was a solid fourth in a stronger contest over C&D last week. Consistent of late, Bright N Shine is capable of making an impact, and so is Come On The Lads.

Following a couple of non-completions over hurdles, COME ON THE LADS offered more back on the level at Galway 11 days ago and assuming he sees this trip out, the assessor has given him a major chance. Glyde Ranger was an easy winner here last week so has to command respect, with Velvet And Wine another to consider for place purposes.

It might just pay to side with the penalised GLYDE RANGER, who comes here in form after bolting up over C&D last week

TANCREDI was no match for an odds-on shot when making his racecourse debut here just 10 days ago. However, that experience is unlikely to be lost on George Boughey's gelding and he gets the vote at the main expense of Sovereign Sea, who cost 200,000 euros at the Arqana May Breeze-Up sale in 2023. Stoneacre may get the better of Jolie Coeur Allen in the battle for third.

SOVEREIGN SEA is related to a useful sort and cost plenty at the Breeze-Ups, so he's worth taking a chance on having been found a weak race to start out in. Tancredi should improve from his debut and looks the obvious danger.

200,000euros 2yo SOVEREIGN SEA has been found the ideal race on debut and can see off Tancredi.

Joseph O'Brien saddles three debutants and the experienced Cradle Of Love in this open contest. Market trends should be informative with regards to the newcomers, with Dancing Teapot a sister to Epsom Derby sixth and Group 1 runner-up Dancing Gemini. Fortuna Vera is also well-bred, while the 84-rated Cradle Of Love sets the standard. For a selection, it might be worth siding with CHOCALHO. Out of a Group 1 winner in Argentina, she ran a nice race when fourth on debut at Gowran and is sure to come on plenty for that effort. Formerly in the care of Ollie Sangster, Stiorra is of interest on debut for Andy Slattery, while Misappropriation and Brosna Green are others for the shortlist.

Joseph O'Brien's CRADLE OF LOVE holds much the best form on show so is fancied to finally get off the mark on the back of her very good recent C&D third. Ger Lyons' Misappropriation could emerge as the main danger, with Chocalho and Stiorra also in the mix.

The one to be on could well be MISAPPROPRIATION, who was below-par on softer ground at Naas, but should be more at home on this surface
Class & Speed Card

CALAFRIO has been knocking on the door since returning to the all-weather with a pair of runner-up efforts at Southwell and over C&D last week. The daughter of Le Brivido wouldn't need to improve on those displays to get her head back in front. Ninety Nine is respected under a 6lb penalty following her surprise Catterick success last week, as are Stallone and Cuban Rock.

Cheekpieces worked a treat when NINENTY NINE bounced back to form in no uncertain terms at Catterick 10 days ago and from just 2 lb higher, she must go close again if she's in a similar mood. HK Fourteen landed a notable gamble at Bath last week and is a huge threat of taking up this engagement, with Calafrio likely to be on the premises.

Last month's return to action could have sharpened up ELZAAL and he's marginally preferred to Calafrio and HK Fourteen.
Class & Speed Card

A field of 14 will face the starter, with Ger Lyons responsible for four, Aidan O'Brien three and James Tate two. Bidding to win this Listed heat for the third year in a row, Lyons saddles the top-rated SAKTI, who is the choice of Colin Keane. The Caravaggio bay has a course win to her name and was second in a similar contest at Naas last month. Her stable companion Vivienda steps up in class and warrants respect with James Ryan aboard, while North Africa looks the pick of O'Brien's three. Fourth in this race 12 months ago, Tate's Behind The Scenes warrants respect with the high-flying Rossa Ryan taking the ride. The progressive Elinor Dashwood and Dermot Weld's Red Viburnum are others for the shortlist.

A range of abilities on show with black type on offer. CLOUD COVER was a lot better the result at Southwell 3 weeks ago and already placed at this level, she looks the pick at the weights. Ger Lyons saddles 4 and has a couple of very live players in Sakti and Vivienda.

The one to beat should be the consistent SAKTI (nap), who's only win came on this surface and who has been consistent at this level
Class & Speed Card

TOO MUCH was successful by just under two lengths over C&D and has been put up 7lb. David Thompson's four-year-old brings the best recent form to the table and looks the one to beat. Bellagio Man finished fourth in a tougher contest than this over track and trip on Tuesday and isn't dismissed off an unchanged rating, while Haworth Star is a player based on his victory at this venue two starts ago.

The free-going TOO MUCH was well served by the drop back in trip when readily landing a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago and, unexposed as a sprinter, she could well be up to defying the assessor and following up. Golden Duke and Bellagio Man are others to consider, as is 9-time C&D winner Athollblair Boy.

Unexposed as a sprinter, TOO MUCH (nap) is fancied to defy a 7lb rise for her easy C&D win three weeks ago.

FIVEFORTWO has run consistently well in his three runs to date and has recent C&D form. Just a 1,000gns foal purchase, he is nonetheless nicely bred and having run well on debut, conceded weight when finishing third to a subsequent Listed winner at Listowel and most recently ran well in another useful maiden here last month. He is rated 1lb inferior to No Return but has a slightly less-exposed profile. No Return is himself able and has recent course form, so should run well. Truth Be Told has been frustrating and is tried in a first-time tongue-tie while North Ocean, by hot sire Wootton Bassett and a half-brother to seven winners, might prove best of Joseph O'Brien's trio of debutants.

FIVEFORTWO boasts a progressive profile and another upward move could be enough for him to land this. Truth Be Told is closely matched with the selection on form and North Ocean is a newcomer who catches the eye on paper.

Clearly highly regarded, TRUTH BE TOLD can put his best foot forward and strike on his AW debut

Volenti went in by a head over C&D last week and holds an obvious chance, despite his 5lb penalty. However, he might come out second best to WHATWOULDYOUKNOW, who showed a lot more when making the frame over track and trip and has been dropped 1lb. The nine-year-old is now 11lb lower than his last successful mark and can repeat his victory in this race of two years ago. Martin's Brig completes the shortlist.

VOLENTI confirmed the promise of his recent efforts when landing an 11-runner C&D handicap 11 days ago and she could well be the answer turned out under a penalty. Trais Fluors' recent form figures don't inspire confidence but returned to this venue, he needs monitoring having fallen to a very attractive mark. Angel of Antrim and Whatwouldyouknow are others in with a shout.

A trappy race featuring a few dangerous lurkers. As things stand, WHATWOULDYOUKNOW may be the answer off his lowly mark.

BLUES EMPEROR has a big weight, despite his rider's 7lb claim, but remains a fraction unexposed on this surface and might follow up last month's C&D win. A four-time winner, his rating had fallen earlier this year before scoring recently and while now raised 6lb, he was rated 97 last March and this is just his third career run on the all-weather so he might progress. Three-year-old Black Storm is interesting on handicap debut, having won a maiden here last month. That form is nothing special, but he is open to further improvement and has form at a mile. Pier Pressure was third to the selection in last month's race and has place claims, while Sayifyouwill refused to load in a recent race here.

Lots with chances but the vote goes to course-scorer PIER PRESSURE who can race off the same mark as when a very good recent C&D third. The handily-weighted Hightimeyouwon heads the list of dangers with handicap-debutant Black Storm also firmly in the picture. Sayifyouwill and Punk Poet complete the shortlist.

PUNK POET won this race last year from a 3lb higher mark and looks poised to strike again off the back of a good run over C&D
Class & Speed Card

HIGHER KINGDOM is quirky but has won five races and returned to form when running well from a career-low rating here last month. His previous win came in March 2023 and while his rating has fallen dramatically since then, he showed promise when staying on over an inadequate distance last month and is now a further 1lb lower reverting to a more suitable distance. Chica Power was narrowly behind the selection in that recent race but was well held subsequently, while seven-time winner Hurricane Helen has been running well, although has yet to win with a rating higher than 60. In-form Comfort Line is already a four-time C&D winner so should show his new rider around.

It's been a while since HIGHER KINGDOM last hit the target, but he has slipped to a very dangerous mark as a result and left the strong impression that his turn may be near when a close fourth over 7f here three weeks ago. Stepping back up to a mile will be in his favour and he gets the nod ahead of Hurricane Helen and last week's C&D winner Comfort Line. Cases can also be made for Feature This and Sneddy Eddie.

A wide-open contest can go the way of HURRICANE HELEN, who has a very good record when she is partnered with Colin Keane
Class & Speed Card

EXCEEDING is a 16-race three-year-old maiden, but seemed to find his level from today's similarly low rating when running well over C&D in late September. Initially rated 75, he has clearly been disappointing but should get involved again under his same 10lb claimer and he contests an ordinary handicap. Morning Approach is a slow starter, but has won three races and has a good record around here. She was probably unsuited by easy ground at the Curragh recently, but had shown form this summer and can also compete. Tara Power ran well at Bellewstown recently, but has won just once from 37 runs.

The vote goes to STORM ERIC, who has slipped to an attractive mark and should come on for his spin here a fortnight ago when returning from a four-month break. Exceeding is still a maiden following 16 attempts but produced arguably his best effort yet when when third over C&D last time and he will be a threat if able to build on that. Tara Power is third choice.
