1st (4) (9/2 +18%)Skuna Bay |
9/2(+18%) | (4) Skuna Bay 9/2, Showed a good attitude and ran to form when second, beaten 3l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Wetherby last time. Returning from a long layoff and effective at 2 1/2m; should improve for the step up to 3m. Second at Wetherby latest and he shaped like a stayer; respected upped to 2m7f on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 +36%)Firm But Fair |
7/2(+36%) | (5) Firm But Fair 7/2, Made a modest debut effort when third, beaten 20l, in a maiden over 3m at Curraghmore. Difficult to fancy here. Sold for £60,000 after his third in an Irish point; market informative on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/4 -83%)In The Age |
11/4(-83%) | (1) In The Age 11/4, Outpaced but showed some promise when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Aintree last time. Had been in good form beforehand and is effective over 2 1/2m. Can improve now stepped up in distance. Held as favourite last twice but he may have needed the run on hurdling debut at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/2 +50%)Jacks Parrot |
5/2(+50%) | (2) Jacks Parrot 5/2, Below his best and made mistakes when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m7f at Perth last time. Had been in good form prior and remains a threat if cutting out the errors. Fairly useful chaser who is a thorough stayer; interesting contender back over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6/1 -50%)Pragnell |
6/1(-50%) | (3) Pragnell 6/1, Went up in trip and probably didn't stay when fourth, beaten 83l, in a maiden hurdle over 3m at Chepstow latest. Effective at around 2 1/2m, with maiden form franked, but stamina remains to be proven. Point winner but he flopped at Chepstow (2m7f) in final run last term; bit to prove. |

Jacks Parrot has won a couple of times over fences but could prove vulnerable to the likes of IN THE AGE now back over timber on his reappearance. Dan Skelton's charge disappointed on his hurdling bow at Aintree recently, but that effort came following an eight-month absence. Upped further in trip, he could take a marked step forward. Skuna Bay appeals most of the remainder.

This looks tricky but the vote goes to SKUNA BAY, who shaped a like stayer when a promising second over 2m3f at Wetherby in February.

1st (7) (9/2 +44%)Fine Casting |
9/2(+44%) | (7) Fine Casting 9/2, Travelled well and ran to form but again finished weakly when second, beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. May be involved but strike rate a worry. On long losing run but he's on a dangerous mark and could go well back over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 +36%)Margaret's Legacy |
9/2(+36%) | (2) Margaret's Legacy 9/2, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off 119 at Haydock last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective over 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good to soft ground, though this mark demands more. Unbeaten in two starts for Warren Greatrex last winner and he's respected on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/1 +29%)Il Va De Soi |
6/1(+29%) | (4) Il Va De Soi 6/1, Ran a bit below form when fourth, beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle at Ayr latest. Not without a chance on chase debut off favourable mark. Dual hurdle winner and he needs watching in market on his chase/seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (22/1 +33%)Rule Me In |
22/1(+33%) | (11) Rule Me In 22/1, Below form when up in trip on quicker ground and likely needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Chepstow last time. Bit to find. Unexposed 6yo but has bit to prove on chase debut and this is highly competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/1 +0%)New Order |
5/1(+0%) | (3) New Order 5/1, Keen when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 117 at Sandown last time. Progressive bold jumper isn't dismissed on reappearance. Record of 3-5 over fences and he won his final two starts last season; respected on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (9) (13/2 +54%)Kahavari |
13/2(+54%) | (9) Kahavari 13/2, From a yard that won this last year. Possibly wanted easier ground when second, beaten 14l in a novice hurdle here last time. Open to significant improvement. Hurdle winner but he needs to find more improvement to defy this mark on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (9/1 -29%)Heard That |
9/1(-29%) | (8) Heard That 9/1, Well backed but made mistakes when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 115 over 3m at Perth last time. Has a bit to find on these terms. 3-7 over fences and is only 2lb higher than for his last success; in the mix on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (11/2 +35%)Moonshine Man |
11/2(+35%) | (10) Moonshine Man 11/2, Improved when stepped up in trip on chase debut, just beaten by a race-fit rival when 1 1/2l behind off 109 over 2m5f at Sedgefield last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and should come on for that chase debut run. Runner-up on chase debut at Sedgefield but this is tougher and others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (22/1 -57%)Theformismighty |
22/1(-57%) | (6) Theformismighty 22/1, Outpaced and continued in poor form on a quick return, comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time. Usually held up; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and acts on good to soft or soft ground. Out of form but the handicapper has relented. On dangerous mark but he's lost his way and needs a major revival. |

REALLYNTRUTHFULLY came clear to make the perfect start to his chasing career at Fontwell last month and, with the likelihood of much more to come, he can defy a 7lb rise and go in again. That being said, both Margaret's Legacy and New Order were progressing through the handicap ranks when last in action so they must be given respect. Moonshine Man struck the woodwork at Sedgefield latest and is just one more to consider.

An interesting race in which the vote goes to REALLYNTRUTHFULLY, who won in good style on his chase debut at Fontwell last month.

1st (4) (5/2 +9%)De Legislator |
5/2(+9%) | (4) De Legislator 5/2, On a good mark based on hurdle form and a thorough stayer, landing a handicap by 3l off 108 at Wetherby last time; returns from a long layoff off generous mark judged on hurdle form and looks the pick on race times. Bailey; failed to shine over fences; no impact recent stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/1 -33%)Busty Boy |
6/1(-33%) | (2) Busty Boy 6/1, Travelled and ran to form down in trip when just outbattled up the hill, beaten 3/4l off 117 over 2m4f at Carlisle last time; effective from 2 1/2m to 3 1/2m, acts on any ground, consistent but with battling qualities in question. Runner-up to subsequent Hexham scorer Hello Judge at Carlisle (2m4f) latest; 2lb higher.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/2 +55%)President Scottie |
5/2(+55%) | (1) President Scottie 5/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Perth last time; consistent prior to that; trainer in form and holds an outside chance. Seeking first chase win; badly hampered and pulled up at Perth (3m) in April; easing mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (6/1 -50%)Breeze Of Wind |
6/1(-50%) | (9) Breeze Of Wind 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 105 over 4m at Hexham last time; progressive type will need a stiff test at the trip. Accounted for Busty Boy over C&D (3m, heavy; 3lb lower) in February; enters calculations.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (25/1 +24%)Bushypark |
25/1(+24%) | (6) Bushypark 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m6f at Bangor-on-Dee last time; returning from a long layoff; enjoys making the running and has dropped a long way in weights but can be inconsistent. In decline last season, completing once (well beaten) in four starts over hurdles/fences.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (50/1 -100%)Carrigeen Castle |
50/1(-100%) | (5) Carrigeen Castle 50/1, Probably will not stay, having been comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Newcastle last time; returning from a long layoff; effective up to 2m4f on soft ground, stamina to prove over this far. 3-10 over fences; struggled for form since last win; had wind surgery since last run.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (11/2 +21%)Forged Well |
11/2(+21%) | (7) Forged Well 11/2, Outpaced and needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Carlisle last time; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and should come on for initial chase experience. No impact whatsoever, tailing off, on recent Carlisle chasing debut (2m4f).. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (16/1 -78%)Stretchemout |
16/1(-78%) | (10) Stretchemout 16/1, Up in trip and may not have stayed on handicap debut when well beaten in a handicap chase at Down Royal last time; effective around 2m5f on yielding and good ground; needs to bounce back after latest run. Stayed on to win beginners chase at Sligo (2m5f; 18-1) last month; minimal impact since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (25/1 0%)C'est Quelqu'un |
25/1(0%) | (11) C'est Quelqu'un 25/1, Made mistakes and was below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Hexham last time; had been in good form prior and looks worth dropping slightly in trip. No win since September 2023; set to compete from 2lb 'wrong' in a tough looking contest.. |

De Legislator showed improvement when sporting first-time cheekpieces to score at Wetherby in February and needs to be considered on his return to the fray. However, BUSTY BOY has taken the silver medal home in each of his last four starts, most recently over 2m4f at Carlisle. Daragh Bourke's charge steps back up in trip and can defy a 2lb rise. Stretchemout looks best of the rest.

It is highly unlikely we've seen the best of DE LEGISLATOR (nap) yet, so this strong stayer is taken to make a winning reappearance.

1st (2) (7/4 +30%)Diva Luna |
7/4(+30%) | (2) Diva Luna 7/4, Keen and below form when well beaten in the Top Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m at Aintree latest. Placed in mares' novice hurdle at Cheltenham Festival; of strong interest on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/10 +12%)Joyeuse |
11/10(+12%) | (4) Joyeuse 11/10, Keen and below form under a big weight when finishing down the field in a Listed handicap hurdle over 2m at Fairyhouse most recently. Trainer is in form and she sets the standard on form judged on her Betfair Hurdle win Won major handicap hurdle last season; tough to beat if she takes well to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 +10%)Queens Gamble |
9/2(+10%) | (5) Queens Gamble 9/2, Outclassed and finished down the field in the Close Brothers Mares' Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m4f at Cheltenham most recently. Had been in good form before that and Listed hurdle winner looks a value selection on balance of form on chase debut Very useful hurdler with 3-6 strike-rate; looks a good candidate for chasing this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (18/1 +10%)Finest View |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Finest View 18/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 15l, in a handicap chase at Kelso last time when up in grade. Suited by 2m on a sound surface; progressive but the handicapper may be catching up and vulnerable in this grade Triple chase winner (once over C&D) in early part of season; forecast rain a worry. |

JOYEUSE was the highest rated of these over hurdles and, if taking to this new discipline, she could be one to keep on the right side of throughout the season. There should be stiff competition, though, which could primarily come from Wyenot, who faced a tall order in the Mares Champion Hurdle at Punchestown when last seen in May. Queens Gamble and Diva Luna are just as talented and both could be involved, as might the consistent Finest View.

Joyeuse landed a big hurdling prize in February but we may not have seen the best of DIVA LUNA yet, and she might be the answer.

Too free when 6l fourth at Perth latest; drops 1lb; interesting up in trip if settling.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (10/1 -11%)So Many Roads |
10/1(-11%) | (5) So Many Roads 10/1, Unseated in a 3m handicap chase here last time when looking a big threat; returning from a long layoff but not without a chance. Unseated in a 3m chase here when last seen; handy mark but does have a bit to prove.. |

11/1(-10%) | (11) Kellie's Dream 11/1, Keen and well backed when running to form, finishing 9l third in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time; returning from a long layoff and looks a contender. Not at her best in two starts last winter; handy mark but has a bit to prove.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (28/1 -12%)Bray Dale |
28/1(-12%) | (14) Bray Dale 28/1, Made mistakes but improved when down in grade on handicap debut, finishing 11l third in a 2m handicap hurdle here last time; returning from a long layoff. Point bumper winner; showed more promise latest; up in trip; more needed from same mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (9/1 +10%)I'm For Home |
9/1(+10%) | (12) I'm For Home 9/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 77 at Sligo last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on any ground; an exposed maiden over hurdles. Respectable effort when fourth in a Sligo handicap hurdle last month; this looks tough.. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (66/1 -313%)Gone With The Tide |
66/1(-313%) | (7) Gone With The Tide 66/1, Improved up in trip when fourth, beaten 6l in a 2m3f maiden hurdle at Carlisle last time; effective around 2 1/2m and could be well treated returning to handicaps. Irish point winner; showed promise in April when last seen; could do better when chasing.. |

The hat-trick seeking Nathan Wells is bound to have his supporters after completing a double at Perth, but the step back up in trip is a slight concern. With that in mind, TREAD SOFTLY NOW gets the vote. Ian Duncan's mare outran her odds of 25/1 to fill the runner-up spot at the same venue last time and goes off the same mark. Ryan Mania is now doing the steering and she could be the one to beat. Kellie's Dream completes the shortlist.

The suggestion is PLATIN MOON, who showed promise in the spring, in the hope that he can settle over this longer trip.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/4 +42%)The Doyen Chief |
7/4(+42%) | (3) The Doyen Chief 7/4, Keen but well handicapped, raised 5lb after landing the Challenger Staying Chase Series Final Handicap Chase by a neck off 132 at Warwick last time; progressive type doesn't do much in front. Took well to fences last season and was on upgrade when last seen in March, winning twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 +44%)Richmond Lake |
10/3(+44%) | (2) Richmond Lake 10/3, Below form when well beaten in the William Hill Handicap Chase over 3m1f at Aintree last time; generally consistent and has run well fresh. Posted some good efforts last season; returns after wind op/break on tempting mark. |

Out of form during very light campaign last season but dangerous if back on song. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (5/1 +38%)Some Scope |
5/1(+38%) | (7) Some Scope 5/1, Just 1lb above his last winning mark, returned to form in first-time cheekpieces when 9l third in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter last time; worth another chance. Steadied the ship with third in new cheekpieces in May; goes without that headgear here. |

|PU| (6) (14/1 -27%)Pull Again Green |
14/1(-27%) | (6) Pull Again Green 14/1, Outpaced and below form off a revised mark when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Chepstow last time; had been in good form beforehand; effective around 3m but looks on a stiff mark. Good C&D second in September but well beaten since, and not ideally suited by recent rain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (17/2 -183%)Le Milos |
17/2(-183%) | (1) Le Milos 17/2, Outpaced and in need of the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Aintree last time; effective at 3m but his current mark may be high enough. Returned from break with below-par run last month but current mark is workable. |

Le Milos failed to land a blow when fifth on his return at Aintree recently, but he won this in 2022 and should not be underestimated. Even so, THE DOYEN CHIEF looks the way to go. The son of Doyen landed a similar contest at Warwick when last seen and is just 5lb higher. Whilst the Alan King yard are in fine order, it would come as no surprise were he to go in again. Richmond Lake is also noted.

The suggestion is RICHMOND LAKE (nap), who ran some honourable races in defeat last season and returns on a good mark.

Had been in good form prior and returns from a long layoff; a contender off lenient opening mark. 2m Kelso winner; fifth in a Grade 2 back there in March; makes handicap and stable debut.. |

16/1(+52%) | (5) Coconut Splash 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m4f at Ffos Las last time where again looked unwilling. Absent for a very lengthy period and may need the run for new yard. Pulled up at Ffos Las (3m4f chase) when last seen 546 days ago; unlikely on stable debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (12/1 +25%)Theme Tune |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Theme Tune 12/1, Below form when stepped back up in trip, wanting easier ground, and comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m3f at Perth last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (25/1 +38%)Jakana |
25/1(+38%) | (10) Jakana 25/1, Had every chance but was well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time. Effective at around 2 1/2m but currently out of form. Backward steps since finishing runner-up in a four-runner affair at Hexham (2m4f) in June.. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (50/1 -100%)Clonakilty |
50/1(-100%) | (6) Clonakilty 50/1, Well backed and ran to form when second, beaten 7l, in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Fair mark on chase form but not one to rely on. Ex-Olly Murphy; sold in May for £12,000; reverts to hurdles for stable debut.. |

Captain Butler found Grade 2 company a tough task when last seen, but has to be of interest on his handicap/stable debut. C&D winner Both Barrels is another to keep an eye on, but the verdict is for FOX'S FANCY. She fell at Hexham on her chasing debut last month and this looks a smart move switching back to hurdles. The daughter of Kayf Tara won a soft-ground Perth maiden in April 2024 and remains unexposed in handicaps.

The market could offer the most relevant clues but, with his latest C&D win well advertised, the logical selection is BOTH BARRELS.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (3/1 -50%)Playful Fox |
3/1(-50%) | (7) Playful Fox 3/1, Hunter's Light gelding; half-brother to Unexpected Party, smart over 19f; dam very smart over 13f; from a top stable. Half-brother to stable's very useful jumper Unexpected Party; among the most likely ones. |

17/2(-21%) | (4) Network Gold 17/2, Dartmouth gelding; full-brother to Pertemps Diamond, fair over 20f; trainer in good form and one to consider. Brother to hurdle winner Pertemps Diamond; Sean Bowen rides connections' other one. |

22/1(-38%) | (10) Tails Of Gold 22/1, Had the run of the race and showed minor promise when beaten 5 1/4l in a juvenile bumper over 1m5f at Exeter on debut; value selection based on the balance of form. Not beaten far in recent Exeter bumper but seemingly overlooked by Jack Tudor here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (7/2 -17%)Network Rgb |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Network Rgb 7/2, Telescope gelding; trainer in form and looks one to consider. Looks stable first string on jockey bookings. First foal from a useful staying hurdler; looks the part on paper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (14/1 +13%)On Subs |
14/1(+13%) | (6) On Subs 14/1, Beaumec De Houelle gelding; faces a challenging task on debut. Brother to a French hurdle winner; seemingly the stable's first string in this race. |

With little form to go off, only a tentative vote can go to PLAYFUL FOX, who is a half-brother to the smart Unexpected Party and goes for the in-form Dan Skelton team. The son of Hunter's Light could make an instant impression, although Network Gold might be a real threat. Seemingly the choice of Sean Bowen of the Olly Murphy pair, he warrants a market check on his debut. Market confidence behind Sixty's Rock would make him of interest too.

Alan King has a long-established prowess with juvenile hurdlers and his newcomer, SIXTY'S ROCK, has an appealing pedigree.

Won over 5f at two, lightly raced last two years, not a lost cause judged on Curragh fifth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/4 +44%)Tomarlo |
9/4(+44%) | (8) Tomarlo 9/4, Ran to form when beaten a length off 60 here last time; trainer in form; effective 5-6f and well suited by all-weather; generally consistent. Solid record at this venue, in front of Prairie Girl last time, in-form trainer/rider team. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (18/1 -112%)Inishmot Prince |
18/1(-112%) | (3) Inishmot Prince 18/1, Beaten 9l in a handicap over 7f here last time from a stiff mark; wide draw; effective 5-6f, unproven over further; all best form on all-weather but out of form at present. Nine-time course winner, should be better for his return in a 7f contest here last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +56%)Dontspoilasale |
2/1(+56%) | (1) Dontspoilasale 2/1, Scored by 1/2l off 69 over 6f at Laytown in September; top course jockey; wide draw; effective 5-6f, best at 6f, barely stays 7f; remains well treated on old form and could build on his recent revival. Not a great strike rate (3-47) but has notched a win and 11 places from 26 Dundalk visits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (16/1 -113%)Just Jump |
16/1(-113%) | (7) Just Jump 16/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 3l, in a claimer over 6f here latest; effective 6-7f and handles all-weather; inconsistent overall. Has produced his best form in claimers, handicap form is generally unconvincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (10/3 +58%)Lismacbryan Hill |
10/3(+58%) | (10) Lismacbryan Hill 10/3, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 52 here last time; wide draw; effective 5-6f and handles all-weather; may be slightly flattered by her claiming rating but still fairly treated. Fourth to Prairie Girl here 12 days ago, could reverse the form on revised terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (40/1 -60%)Snowballs |
40/1(-60%) | (9) Snowballs 40/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when beaten 10l at Navan last time; plenty of speed in pedigree and effective at 5f; fair mark on best maiden form but needs to bounce back. Big price on handicap debut, ran accordingly, major improvement required on first AW start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (80/1 -264%)Skillman Ave |
80/1(-264%) | (6) Skillman Ave 80/1, Helped set it up for a closer when finishing down the field in a 7f handicap here last time; effective 5-6f and acts on all-weather; recent form below best. Won over 5f for Gavin Cromwell at Tipperary in July, has tended to struggle lately. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (14/1 +0%)Cash Me |
14/1(+0%) | (2) Cash Me 14/1, Outclassed up in grade when beaten 10l in a handicap over 7f here last time; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather; the form of her maiden win looks only modest. Out of the handicap when tried over 7f on AW debut, had excuses, may do better now. |

PRAIRIE GIRL may be able to defy a 12lb rise for her win here recently. The Mehmas filly came good in fine style over course and distance, recording a comprehensive three-length success, and she should have the scope for further progress. Tomarlo has run well on his last two visits and could be a danger. The Iffraaj gelding is only 1lb higher than when a close third over track and trip last month. Lismacbryan Hill has been knocking on the door, including when fourth to the selection latest, and she could be place material.

David Marnane and Luke McAteer had a great night last Friday and can keep up the good work with TOMARLO

1st (5) (6/4 +0%)Sixmilebridge |
6/4(+0%) | (5) Sixmilebridge 6/4, Beaten 3 out after making too much use of himself and probably preferring softer ground when down the field in the Turners Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) at Cheltenham last time. Previously in good form, enjoys making the running, and looks a potential threat on chase debut. Won three over hurdles, including a Grade 2 at Cheltenham (2m4f); threat on chasing debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/6 -35%)Derryhassen Paddy |
5/6(-35%) | (1) Derryhassen Paddy 5/6, Kept on gamely up the hill, doing best of those close to the pace when finished a 7l third in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) over 3m at Cheltenham on his latest start. Soft ground a plus and looks the class angle on chase debut. Fine third in Gr1 Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham (3m; 10-1); chase debut; exciting prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (13/2 +28%)Gamesters Guy |
13/2(+28%) | (2) Gamesters Guy 13/2, Form has been franked; improved when stepped up in trip, finishing second and beaten 3l in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Newbury last time. Returns from a long layoff and has a bit to find. Capable novice hurdler who has previous with Sixmilebridge; noteworthy on chasing debut.. |

Having finished a cracking third in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival, plenty of eyes will be on chasing debutant DERRYHASSEN PADDY. The six-year-old was a winner of his sole point-to-point and edges the vote over Sixmilebridge. Although Fergal O'Brien's Grade 2 winner finished down the field in the Turners at Prestbury Park, he isn't taken lightly on his first appearance over the larger obstacles. Gamesters Guy is the pick of the remainder.

Exciting prospect DERRYHASSEN PADDY did everything asked of him over hurdles and can take this in his stride.

11/4(0%) | (2) Shabalko D'herm 11/4, Quickened clear cosily for a very promising debut when winning a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter over 2m by 12l last time. Second run after a wind operation; a 3m point winner who should progress further over longer trips. Made all to win readily on last month's hurdling debut at Uttoxeter; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (2/1 +43%)Count Of Vendome |
2/1(+43%) | (5) Count Of Vendome 2/1, Ran to form to defy a penalty when benefitting from a drop in grade to win a bumper at Catterick over 2m by 4 1/2l last time. Dual bumper winner was highly tried in that sphere and should go close on hurdle debut. Third in Listed bumper between last season's two bumper wins; respected on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 -33%)Filibustering |
5/2(-33%) | (1) Filibustering 5/2, Made mistakes but had every chance and ran to form, though comfortably held up in grade when last seen in the Boodles Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 1) at Aintree. Had been in good form prior and highly regarded so should run well. Fair Flat racer; won on hurdle debut and not disgraced in Grade 1 on second attempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (22/1 -193%)Mister Ursus |
22/1(-193%) | (6) Mister Ursus 22/1, From the yard that won this race last year. Improved when stepped up in trip to win a 4yo contest at Nantes over 12f by 1/2l last time. Wears a hood for the first time and could figure on stable debut judged on useful French form. Flat winner in Poland/France; makes British/hurdling debut here; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -230%)Brookside La |
33/1(-230%) | (4) Brookside La 33/1, Outpaced but showed minor promise on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Kelso last time. Second run after a wind operation; effective at 2m and may improve when stepped up in trip. Made low-key start to hurdling career last month and needs a big step forward here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (250/1 -150%)Sweeper System |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Sweeper System 250/1, Pulled up in a maiden over 3m at Cragmore last time. Returning from a long layoff and has shown little in 3m points, leaving plenty to prove. Close third in an Irish point in April but probably best watched on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (200/1 -60%)Bombay Pete |
200/1(-60%) | (3) Bombay Pete 200/1, Outpaced and made only a modest effort when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time. A 3m point winner who likely wants further than 2m under rules. Well down the field when a big-priced outsider for first two hurdle races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (200/1 -100%)Saint Polo |
200/1(-100%) | (7) Saint Polo 200/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a novice hurdle here last time. May be better suited by a trip beyond 2m. Soundly beaten on both hurdle starts last month, the latter over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (500/1 -150%)Urban Rhythm |
500/1(-150%) | (10) Urban Rhythm 500/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle over 2m at Worcester last time and has yet to show any ability over hurdles. Did not emerge from the rear division in any of her first three hurdle races. |

There was a lot to like about SHABALKO D'HERM's successful hurdles bow at Uttoxeter last month and there should be more to come. The five-year-old routed the opposition that day, suggesting he should be capable of defying a 7lb penalty. Filibustering is sure to find this easier than the juvenile Grade 1 he contested at the Aintree Festival and looks the biggest danger, while market support for useful French Flat recruit Mister Ursus would be interesting.

The pick is FILIBUSTERING, who drops in class after running well for a long way in the Grade 1 juvenile hurdle at Aintree in April.

3/1(+14%) | (4) Glen And Tonic 3/1, Yard won this last year; bit free but ran to form when beaten 2l off 66 over 5f here last time; trainer in form and consistent in maidens; wide draw but mark may be lenient. Trainer and rider shared a treble last Friday, good third last time, high draw a concern. |

33/1(-18%) | (12) Saxon Grace 33/1, Ran to form when beaten 6l in a nursery over 7f at Gowran Park last time; wide draw; effective from 6f to 7f and bred to stay further; showed early promise but hasn't progressed. Only mild promise in two turf nurseries, eighth of 13 behind The Love Machine at Navan. |

28/1(+15%) | (14) Mr Kobe 28/1, Ran to form when beaten 8l in a maiden over 5f at Cork last time; off a short break; effective from 5f to 7f; needs to back up that effort. Weak form in maidens over 5f and 7f, hard to make a strong case for him on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (15/2 +6%)The Love Machine |
15/2(+6%) | (3) The Love Machine 15/2, Won by 4l off 61 at Navan two starts ago; ran to form when fourth, beaten 4 1/4l off 70 last time; sprint-bred and suited by 5-6f; current mark looks about right. Has a bit to find with Glen And Tonic but has done better in the draw than that rival. |

28/1(-75%) | (6) Plushy 28/1, Made too much use of when down the field in a 2yo race over 5f here last time; off a short break; speedily bred and needs a drop in grade. Placed twice over 5f on turf in July, was set an ambitious task on AW debut in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (11/2 -100%)Innumerable |
11/2(-100%) | (2) Innumerable 11/2, Perhaps not suited by the ground when beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden over 7f at Leopardstown last time; effective at 6f; opening mark fair and could bounce back down in trip. Potentially thrown in on 6f Curragh third in May, probably did not stay 7f at Leopardstown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (33/1 +0%)Sceitimini |
33/1(+0%) | (10) Sceitimini 33/1, Still green when down the field in a maiden at The Curragh last time; pedigree combines speed and stamina; inconsistent in maidens and mark probably about right. Has run in decent maidens without showing much, may find his level in handicaps. |

9/4(+50%) | (1) Elly Bay 9/4, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 3l in an auction race at Navan last time; effective from 6f to 8f; consistent performer. Has made the frame in four maidens, capable of better than she showed in a Curragh nursery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (50/1 -52%)Cliadh Dubh |
50/1(-52%) | (13) Cliadh Dubh 50/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when beaten 10l in a nursery over 5f here last time; tongue-tie fitted first time; wide draw; effective at 5-6f; needs to leave reappearance form behind. In rear over 5f here on handicap debut, held by Glen And Tonic and The Love Machine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (7/1 +22%)One Cool Bear |
7/1(+22%) | (9) One Cool Bear 7/1, Yard has won two of the last ten runnings; ran to form when beaten 4l in a nursery over 7f here last time; effective at 6f; inconsistent but fairly treated if building on recent runs. Unplaced over 7f here last week, by far his best effort when second over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (13/2 +28%)Spicetown |
13/2(+28%) | (5) Spicetown 13/2, Never got a clear run when going well, unlucky when beaten 3l off 67 here last time; effective at 5-6f; highly tried in maidens and may be well treated. Encouraging sixth over C&D on nursery debut, short of room at crucial stage, could feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (7) (33/1 -230%)California Baby |
33/1(-230%) | (7) California Baby 33/1, Ran to form but was comfortably held in a maiden at The Curragh last time; cheekpieces on for the first time; top course jockey booked; consistent in maidens though opening mark looks demanding. Three ordinary maiden runs, Colin Keane and cheekpieces now, may improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (11) (125/1 -279%)Lilo Pelekai |
125/1(-279%) | (11) Lilo Pelekai 125/1, Disappointing up in trip on handicap debut when down the field in a nursery over 7f at Galway last time; effective at 6f; yet to prove she can score off this mark. Always towards the rear when 66-1 shot in a heavy-ground nursery at Galway. |

INNUMERABLE could be on a competitive mark now pitched into nurseries for the first time. The second of her three maiden efforts was creditable, when finishing third at the Curragh in May. Soft ground may have been against her last time and she returns to this venue having finished fourth on her debut, behind the smart Lady Iman. Glen And Tonic ran well to finish third over the minimum trip here latest and is entitled to be a big player despite a 2lb rise. The Love Machine was two-and-a-half lengths behind Glen And Tonic last time but could get closer on these revised terms.

Several of these have run well in nurseries, but this could go to INNUMERABLE who looks well handicapped on a 6f Curragh third placing

8th (3) (14/1 -40%)Coylton King |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Coylton King 14/1, Improved from debut but still green under pressure when fourth, beaten 4 1/4l in a bumper here last time; returns from a long layoff and should be in the mix. Promise on second bumper start; check market but he will probably improve over further.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (150/1 +25%)Jack Dempsey |
150/1(+25%) | (5) Jack Dempsey 150/1, Unseated rider in a novice hurdle here last time; effective over 2m and acts on good ground, though may prefer a bit further over hurdles. Best bumper effort came here; has unseated in both hurdle starts; much better is needed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(-33%) | (6) Kent De Thaix 8/1, Improved when winning an auction at Ballindenisk over 3m by 1 1/2l last time; open to further progress. Point winner; half-brother to two French hurdle winners; interesting if handling soft.. |

|PU| (9) (500/1 -2173%)Run Baby Run |
500/1(-2173%) | (9) Run Baby Run 500/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle here last time; likely to need more time to mature. 200-1 on debut over C&D (soft) recently, when pulled up a long way from home.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (500/1 -900%)Bracing Brook |
500/1(-900%) | (14) Bracing Brook 500/1, Dartmouth mare from a yard without a winner this year; best watched. Dam a modest 3m hurdle winner; trainer 3% with hurdlers; probably best watched on debut.. |

The Hatchet made all on his hurdling bow at Perth in September and merits respect in his follow-up bid. The five-year-old's slick jumping is likely to stand him in good stead, but a 7lb penalty does demand more. With that in mind, it may be worth chancing the returning MAGNA VICTOR, who offered plenty of encouragement on his third-placed jumps debut at Chepstow in January. Point-to-point winners Kent De Thaix and Cavalier Du Luy are others of interest.

The solid option, despite his penalty, is THE HATCHET, whose Perth win suggested there would be more to come in this sphere.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (22/1 -120%)Bohemond Antioch |
22/1(-120%) | (3) Bohemond Antioch 22/1, Eased when beaten and below bumper form on hurdle debut when 17l third in a 4yo hurdle over 2m at Hexham last time; needs to improve. Well held when third in junior hurdle in April; had wind op during the summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/8 -30%)Fresh As A Daisy |
13/8(-30%) | (4) Fresh As A Daisy 13/8, Rallied gamely and improved on bumper form when stepping up in trip to win a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter over 2m4f by 2l last time; trainer in good form; sets standard and could defy penalty. Scored over 2m4f on hurdling debut in May; 2m on slow ground should also suit; good chance. |

4th (5) (66/1 -230%)Koalys Dubreau |
66/1(-230%) | (5) Koalys Dubreau 66/1, Improved from debut when second, beaten a length, in a maiden over 3m at Curraghmore last time; still has a lot to find. Placed in both Irish points last season; the market may point the way on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (18/1 -13%)Albie Littlewood |
18/1(-13%) | (2) Albie Littlewood 18/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time; effective at 2m and looks one for handicaps over further. Showed only minor promise in two hurdle starts last month; probably one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (125/1 -346%)Pearl Smoke |
125/1(-346%) | (9) Pearl Smoke 125/1, Yard won this last year; green and made mistakes when 30l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f here last time; returning from a break and has plenty to prove. Well beaten when last of three finishers in modest mares' race here in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (9/1 -13%)Spartan Times |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Spartan Times 9/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 2 1/4l, in a handicap over 1m6f at Nottingham last time; effective at 11/12f and goes well on good to soft and good; in strong flat form and unexposed over jumps. Penalised for winning modest hurdle race in June but much improved on the Flat since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (250/1 -150%)Thesoldiersminit |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Thesoldiersminit 250/1, Outpaced and showed little on debut when well beaten in a maiden bumper over 2m at Worcester on only start; hood fitted for the first time; difficult to fancy. In rear throughout when 80-1 for bumper debut at Worcester (good) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (80/1 -100%)New Invention |
80/1(-100%) | (6) New Invention 80/1, Yard won this last year; outpaced and needed the run when down the field in a novice hurdle here last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; may prefer a bit further than 2m in time. Shaped with promise on hurdle debut but did not get competitive over C&D last time. |

An intriguing contest in which preference is afforded to FRESH AS A DAISY, who defeated a pair of subsequent winners on her hurdling bow in May. Nicky Henderson's mare drops in trip for her seasonal return but that shouldn't be a problem and, with scope for plenty of progress, she could double her tally. Olly Murphy continues to churn out winners and Orderoftheday looks a real threat to the selection, while Spartan Times is also noted.

Spartan Times is of interest on his return to hurdling but FRESH AS A DAISY is taken to build upon her Uttoxeter success.

1st (2) (6/5 +52%)Glyndwr |
6/5(+52%) | (2) Glyndwr 6/5, Returned to form down in grade under a positive ride when winning a handicap here by 3/4l last time. Has a top course jockey and is effective at 7-8f. In form and should remain competitive. Made almost all for a C&D handicap win 12 days ago, one of the stronger contenders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/1 -10%)Benavente |
11/1(-10%) | (6) Benavente 11/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 3 1/4l in a handicap over 12f here latest. Effective from 8-12f and suited by the all-weather. Back in form and fairly handicapped. Has been in good form at this venue lately but over longer distances than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 -33%)Independent Expert |
5/2(-33%) | (1) Independent Expert 5/2, Yard won this last year. Ran to form when winning a claimer here over 7f by 1 1/4l last time. Effective at 1m and acts on any surface. Back in form and fairly treated on these terms. Winning favourite in a similar race over 7f here last time, entitled to be a leading fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (10/1 +0%)Rock Etoile |
10/1(+0%) | (11) Rock Etoile 10/1, Did plenty early and finished down the field in a handicap over 7f at Galway most recently. In good form prior and acts on the all-weather. Running back into form until latest, but more needed on these terms. Three-time C&D winner, second on penultimate turf run, not badly treated at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (50/1 -178%)Nammos |
50/1(-178%) | (9) Nammos 50/1, Below form back in a handicap, beaten 9l over 7f here last time. Effective at 6-7f, both wins coming on the all-weather. Well treated on UK form, though slow starts remain an issue and form is poor. Unplaced in a handicap here last week, previously third to Independent Expert in a claimer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (40/1 -60%)Hallelujah Rose |
40/1(-60%) | (3) Hallelujah Rose 40/1, Improved from her debut when stepped up in trip, beaten 5 1/4l in a maiden here last time. Effective at 6-8f and acts on the all-weather. Still improving. Has run only twice, her trainer has a much stronger candidate in Glyndwr. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (28/1 +44%)Heart Of Darkness |
28/1(+44%) | (7) Heart Of Darkness 28/1, Outpaced and below form when finishing down the field in a handicap over 7f here most recently. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather. Handicapper has relented but she remains out of form. Out of form on turf since the early part of the season, down the field here two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (28/1 -27%)Georg Zhukov |
28/1(-27%) | (8) Georg Zhukov 28/1, Did plenty early when fourth, beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap over 11f here last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective from 8-10f and had been running into form until that latest effort. Has been showing consistent form but others have much stronger claims at these weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (22/1 +0%)Tofino |
22/1(+0%) | (4) Tofino 22/1, Never competitive after missing the break, beaten 10l in a handicap over 7f at The Curragh last time. Effective at 7-8f and in good form, with a competitive mark still. Solid handicap form over this trip on turf this year, not suited by heavy ground on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (33/1 -136%)Variance |
33/1(-136%) | (14) Variance 33/1, Improved but never threatened when beaten 5 1/4l in a maiden at Roscommon last time. Effective at 7f but not certain to stay further. Needs to back up latest effort and remains a risky proposition. Poor effort on AW on only start in Britain, could feature if running up to his rating. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (13/2 -8%)Albion Power |
13/2(-8%) | (5) Albion Power 13/2, Returned to form when winning a handicap here by a nose last time. Effective at 7-8f and well suited by the all-weather. Well treated on these terms based on that recent win. Long-priced C&D handicap winner a fortnight ago, vulnerable on overall form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (33/1 -83%)Port Louis |
33/1(-83%) | (10) Port Louis 33/1, Outpaced and unsuited by the drop in trip when beaten 5 1/2l in a claimer over 6f here last time. Effective at 7-8f. Form has been in and out of late. Two turf wins, modest form at this venue, found 6f inadequate here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (66/1 -65%)Brosna Green |
66/1(-65%) | (13) Brosna Green 66/1, Up in trip but failed to stay when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective at 7f and best form has come on the all-weather. Inconsistent performer. Some early promise at this venue, seems regressive, in rear in a C&D handicap on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (12) (200/1 -100%)Wonder Spirit |
200/1(-100%) | (12) Wonder Spirit 200/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap over 11f here most recently. Has plenty to find at this level and faces a stiff task. Course winner in 2023, deteriorated last year, has struggled on his last four course runs. |

Ger Lyons has a good record when dropping horses into claimers and GLYNDWR may be able to strike again. The Arizona gelding produced a game front-running performance to score over C&D in handicap company late last month and this looks a good opportunity to bag another win. He is rated just 1lb below Independent Expert who is the obvious danger. Stephen Thorne's charge won a similar event over seven furlongs here last time and is entitled to be a big player again. Albion Power is another that is attempting to complete a double and must enter calculations.

The top two in the weights look a cut above the others and GLYNDWR is given marginal preference over Independent Miss

2/1(+20%) | (3) Coconut Man 2/1, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 7 1/2l in a maiden over 3m at Dromahane on only start; a potential threat. Bought for £60,000 after finishing second in an Irish point; interesting on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (33/1 -106%)Kingsman Mail |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Kingsman Mail 33/1, Kingfisher gelding; half-brother to Elvis Mail, smart at 17f. Looks stable second string. Plenty to like on paper and interesting to see how he figures in market. |

3rd (5) (15/2 +25%)King Kubala |
15/2(+25%) | (5) King Kubala 15/2, Getaway gelding; half-brother to Goonhilly, fair from 15f to 17f. Yard 1-14 in bumpers last season and others look more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (10/11 +0%)Prophetess Miriam |
10/11(+0%) | (11) Prophetess Miriam 10/11, Went clear and ran to form but probably did a bit too much too soon when second beaten 6 1/2l in a mares bumper at Punchestown latest; effective at 2m on good ground and likely to stay further; Irish form sets the standard and she looks tough to beat. Runner-up in two bumpers in Ireland and she sets a fair standard; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (16/1 -14%)Takeyoutotheisland |
16/1(-14%) | (7) Takeyoutotheisland 16/1, Mount Nelson gelding; faces a tough enough task on debut. Stablemate of Kingsman Mail and the betting should point the way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (22/1 -10%)Big Jon |
22/1(-10%) | (2) Big Jon 22/1, £3,000 Elusive Pimpernel gelding; full-brother to Drumheller, smart at 16f; dam useful from 16f to 20f. £3,000 3yo; one of two newcomers for yard and market should be informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (200/1 -203%)Flicks Getaway |
200/1(-203%) | (9) Flicks Getaway 200/1, £1,000 Getaway filly; yard without a winner this year and best watched. This looks a tough enough starting point and she could be one for later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (9/1 +18%)Battle Of Cape |
9/1(+18%) | (1) Battle Of Cape 9/1, 15,000 euros Mount Nelson gelding; half-brother to Robin De Carlow, smart at 20f; probably need the experience. Half-brother to a useful bumper winner and market should guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (500/1 -400%)Nufinbutdatruth |
500/1(-400%) | (10) Nufinbutdatruth 500/1, Outpaced and poor on debut when well beaten in a bumper at Kelso on only start; returns from a short break with all to prove. 125-1 on Kelso debut (2m, good) in September and she finished a remote last of eight. |

Having filled the runner-up spot behind smart prospects at Listowel and Punchestown, compensation could be on the cards for PROPHETESS MIRIAM. Cian Collins' mare should put her experience to good use and take all of the beating. The biggest threat may emerge from point-to-point runner-up Coconut Man, who boasts enough speed in his pedigree to suggest he can go well on his Rules bow. Newcomer Battle Of Cape is another to bear in mind.

Top of the list is PROPHETESS MIRIAM, who has finished runner-up in two bumpers in Ireland and sets a fair standard.

3rd (9) (8/1 +20%)Party Vibes |
8/1(+20%) | (9) Party Vibes 8/1, Well backed but made mistakes and may have found the ground on the quick side when fourth, beaten 27l, in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Cheltenham last time; progressive. Dual chase winner last season; reverts to hurdling on slightly mark; could have a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/1 +25%)Kepler's Law |
9/1(+25%) | (6) Kepler's Law 9/1, Keen and made too much use of when well beaten in the Betfair NH Novice Handicap Hurdle Final at Sandown last time; may prefer easier ground and has a bit to find. Wide-margin winner of heavy-ground novice last season; makes stable debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (25/1 +50%)West To The Bridge |
25/1(+50%) | (7) West To The Bridge 25/1, Outpaced and wanted easier ground when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Chepstow most recently; enjoys making the running and prefers 2 1/2m on easy ground so could surprise at a price. 12yo; back on a workable mark not but not firing on all cylinders lately. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (15/2 -50%)Go Dante |
15/2(-50%) | (3) Go Dante 15/2, Built on recent revival when landing the Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle by 1/2l off 127 over 2m at Sandown last time; trainer in form and can do better if stamina holds up. Absent since gamely retaining Imperial Cup at Sandown in March but 4lb rise is manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (33/1 +0%)Della Casa Lunga |
33/1(+0%) | (1) Della Casa Lunga 33/1, Below form after being made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Perth last time; needs further than this. Ended last season with a heavy defeat in April and her record when fresh is not good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (5/2 +17%)Disco Davis |
5/2(+17%) | (11) Disco Davis 5/2, Short of room when closing but ran to form when beaten 2l off 115 at Uttoxeter last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and possibly further; handles any ground and probably capable of better. Looks stable first string on jockey bookings. Might have been a shade unlucky when close fourth on seasonal debut; not fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (12/1 -140%)Honky Tonk Highway |
12/1(-140%) | (4) Honky Tonk Highway 12/1, Suited by the step up in trip and improved when second, beaten a nose, in a novice hurdle over 3m at Windsor last time; returning from a long layoff and has a bit to find. Unexposed mare; very close second to smart 3m novice in January on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (22/1 -214%)Lawrenny |
22/1(-214%) | (5) Lawrenny 22/1, Showed improved form down in grade on handicap debut, winning by 3/4l off 120 over 2m at Hexham last time; likely has a bit more to come. Absent since winning handicap debut at Hexham in March but should still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (40/1 -43%)Lac De Constance |
40/1(-43%) | (2) Lac De Constance 40/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time when looked a huge threat; returning from a long layoff; usually held up and may be competitive. Returns from layoff on good mark but seemingly overlooked by Harry Skelton today. |

Dan Skelton saddles four of which Honky Tonk Highway could be the stable's leading hope. Go Dante is likely to be popular too on the back of his second Imperial Cup success when last seen, but a chance can be taken on LAWRENNY. Jennie Candlish's gelding was raised 7lb for winning on his handicap bow at Hexham in March and looks likely to progress over this longer trip.

Dan Skelton's DISCO DAVIS made a pleasing seasonal debut last month and is seemingly the pick of the stable's four runners.

1st (1) (8/13 +44%)Ocean Manifest |
8/13(+44%) | (1) Ocean Manifest 8/13, Ran to form when second, beaten 2l in a maiden over 7f here last time. Ridden by a leading local jockey and effective at 1m. Has shown enough to win a modest maiden. Recent second here over 7f makes him a major player in what looks a weak maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (5/4 -37%)Seola |
5/4(-37%) | (10) Seola 5/4, Had too much to do after being hampered early when 6l fourth in a 7f maiden at Galway on debut. From a leading yard, should improve with experience and bred to appreciate 1m. Plenty green but enough debut Galway promise to suggest she'll take some beating here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/1 +30%)Land Of The Giants |
7/1(+30%) | (3) Land Of The Giants 7/1, Had every chance but ran below form when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap over 7f here last time. Yet to match 2yo form and has something to prove. Juvenile promise but both runs last month for new yard well below his best. |

50/1(-213%) | (11) Spirit Of Indalo 50/1, Showed minor improvement when beaten 10l in a 7f maiden here last time. Likely to prefer at least 7f but has shown little to suggest competitiveness so far. Last week's fifth here (7f) a step in the right direction but fair bit more needed. |

125/1(+17%) | (6) Tullyesker 125/1, Showed slight improvement for debut experience when down the field in a 7f maiden at Galway last time. Pedigree suggests speed and possibly shorter trips; looks one for modest handicaps later on. Moderate efforts in recent maidens at the Curragh and Galway. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (200/1 -33%)Knockmark Angel |
200/1(-33%) | (8) Knockmark Angel 200/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field on debut in a 12f maiden at The Curragh. Likely to need more time and a much longer trip than 1m. Beaten a long way in two bumpers and early this month in Curragh maiden. |

200/1(-100%) | (9) Celtic Priestess 200/1, Too green to show anything when well beaten on debut in a 12f maiden at The Curragh. Has plenty to prove. Trailed throughout after slow start on recent Curragh debut; can only be watched. |

SEOLA showed plenty of promise on her debut at Galway 16 days ago and may find the improvement required to score at the second attempt. The Le Havre filly was hampered leaving the stalls, but she stayed on nicely in the closing stages to finish fourth. She should have learned plenty from the experience. With an official rating of 72, Ocean Manifest sets the standard. He has been placed four times from six outings and is sure to be thereabouts again. There doesn't look to be much strength in depth and the 64-rated Land Of The Giants ought to be capable of reaching the frame.

Ocean Manifest sets the standard but there could be more improvement in SEOLA (nap), plenty green on her recent Galway maiden

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (100/1 -150%)Klein Blue |
100/1(-150%) | (7) Klein Blue 100/1, Outpaced on a modest debut when well beaten in an auction race over 6f at Navan. Cheekpieces first time. From a good yard but has plenty to prove after that effort. Early speed, ultimately well held on recent Navan maiden on heavy; cheekpieces fitted now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (125/1 -346%)Dervo Annie |
125/1(-346%) | (14) Dervo Annie 125/1, Outpaced on a modest debut when beaten 8l in an auction race over 6f at Navan. Shows speed in pedigree and could stay 7f but needs to improve. Some debut promise at Navan last month (6f, soft); extra furlong should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (16) (200/1 -33%)Coul Dore |
200/1(-33%) | (16) Coul Dore 200/1, Still very green and finished down the field in a maiden here last time. Bred to be suited by 7f to 8f but likely to need more time. Big prices, no show at both Navan and over C&D last month; reserve. |

9/2(+25%) | (2) Cosmic Motion 9/2, 10 May; 30,000 euros Starman colt; dam useful from 9f to 10f; top course jockey; tough enough task on debut. Starman colt; respected yard, market best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (13) (100/1 -150%)Monty Bear |
100/1(-150%) | (13) Monty Bear 100/1, 19 Mar; Unfortunately gelding; dam useful at 6f at 2yo; tough enough task on debut. Newcomer probably best watched. |

FOX IN FLIGHT has progressed from run to run and looks capable of landing a race of this standard now. He was allotted an opening mark of 80 following a solid runner-up effort here a fortnight ago, and a similar performance is likely to suffice. Stepping up to seven furlongs could also be of benefit. Nazario holds a rating of 76 and looks a potential danger. The Coulsty colt didn't run too badly in handicap company last time and had finished second over 6f here previously. Jp's Express showed some promise on his debut at Galway recently and could be a potential improver.

A chance is taken on KENOUGH who looked impressive in winning a barrier trial for Diego Dias and now debuts for Joseph O'Brien

7/2(+46%) | (3) Oiche Rua 7/2, Never competitive after missing the break when beaten 4 1/4l in an 8f handicap here last time. Had been in good form previously and remains effective from 7f to 8f. Recent form franked and remains competitive. Hold-up performer needs things to fall his way; contender if they do. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (14) (16/1 -14%)Jazzy Dancer |
16/1(-14%) | (14) Jazzy Dancer 16/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 5l in a 6f handicap here last time. Prefers to race prominently. Effective at 6f on sound surfaces but must bounce back after several below-par runs. Both wins here at 6f; has looked as though this step up in trip would suit on recent runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (11/1 0%)I'm Spartacus |
11/1(0%) | (9) I'm Spartacus 11/1, Never threatened but saw out the trip when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time. Suited by 6f and acts on good ground but better on the all-weather. Looks on a stiff mark. Two 6f wins here; recent form not that encouraging though, needs to improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/2 +25%)Prime Sign |
15/2(+25%) | (5) Prime Sign 15/2, Back up in trip and possibly failed to stay when finishing down the field in a Curragh handicap last time. Effective at 6f on sound ground but needs to find more to defy this current mark. Well held on last month's comeback run at the Curragh; entitled to come on for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (33/1 -313%)Tour Guide Tom |
33/1(-313%) | (7) Tour Guide Tom 33/1, Showed improvement up in trip when beaten 5 1/4l in an 8f Roscommon maiden last time. Effective at 7f and now starts out for a jumps yard off a fair opening handicap mark. Potential improve now entering handicaps, market may prove good guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (15) (40/1 -100%)Moonhall Lass |
40/1(-100%) | (15) Moonhall Lass 40/1, Found little when finishing down the field in a 6f handicap here last time. Effective from 6f to 7f on sound surfaces but remains a maiden and in moderate form, though the handicapper has eased her mark. Maiden's best form at 5f; suspect stayer but undoubtedly attractive mark; reserve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (7/1 +56%)Scarlet Widow |
7/1(+56%) | (11) Scarlet Widow 7/1, Poorly drawn and perhaps not suited by conditions when down the field in a Leopardstown handicap last time. Trainer in form and effective at 7f on the all-weather. Return to this surface should suit but has a bit to prove after a break. Second off 72 in March; reduced mark appealing if forward enough after a break; bad draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (16/1 -33%)Suerte |
16/1(-33%) | (8) Suerte 16/1, Missed the break and was never involved when beaten 8 1/4l in an 8f maiden at Roscommon last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Off a short break and effective from 6f to 7f on sound surfaces. Inconsistent but on a fair mark. Beaten a head in C&D maiden in January; opening mark looks good but draw a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (25/1 -79%)Morning Approach |
25/1(-79%) | (10) Morning Approach 25/1, Soon outpaced and unsuited by a drop in trip when beaten 9 1/4l in a 6f handicap here last time. Effective from 7f to 1m on sound surfaces and on a reasonable mark but unreliable at this veteran stage. Just denied here over 1m in July off 60, form twice since needs plenty of improvement on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (40/1 -21%)Marbush |
40/1(-21%) | (4) Marbush 40/1, Pulled too hard when beaten 5 1/2l in an 8f handicap here last time. Effective at 8f on the all-weather. His mark continues to fall but faces a tough task on recent handicap evidence. AW winner in Britain but yet to hit form in four recent visits here, often keen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (10/1 0%)Macadam's Rock |
10/1(0%) | (12) Macadam's Rock 10/1, Outpaced and never threatened when below form in an 8f handicap at Roscommon last time. Had been in good form prior and remains effective at 7f on the all-weather. Fair mark on spring form if fit and ready. Four-time C&D winner has won on his comeback before so respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (10/1 +0%)Wegotogether |
10/1(+0%) | (13) Wegotogether 10/1, Never threatened and a bit below form when beaten 6l in a handicap here last time. Previously in good form and effective from 6f to 7f on good ground. In form until latest effort. Promising handicap debut at Fairyhouse, two C&D efforts since just fair; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (11/1 -10%)Notforalongtime |
11/1(-10%) | (6) Notforalongtime 11/1, Produced another below-par effort when finishing down the field in an 8f handicap at The Curragh last time. Effective at 7f and best on the all-weather but out of form since returning to turf. Eight-time AW winner; back from turf, can't be ruled out given his record here. |

MYTIMETOSHINE ran with credit in a maiden at Galway recently and would appear to be on a fair mark now handicapping for the first time. The Berkshire gelding has found steady progress so far, and there could be more to come. Send Harry made the breakthrough over course and distance back in September and ought to be a big player again despite a 5lb rise in the handicap. Wegotogether hasn't been far away in two recent runs here and she could make the frame.

Despite the lack of a recent run and high draw it may pay to take a chance on SCARLET WIDOW, well-handicapped and from an in-form yard

1st (15) (6/4 +63%)Porsche Lad |
6/4(+63%) | (15) Porsche Lad 6/4, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 59 here last time. Trainer is in form and he's effective over 10f on the all-weather, though yet to show the same level on turf. Generally consistent. Last week's staying on C&D fourth a definite contender if getting a run; reserve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/2 +45%)Moondharrig |
11/2(+45%) | (8) Moondharrig 11/2, Ran to form when 4 1/2l third in an 8f handicap here last time. Effective over 8-10f and seems better on the all-weather now, though not one to rely on to build on that effort. Recent staying on third over 1m encouraging; one to consider back to his optimum trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (7/1 -100%)Candidly |
7/1(-100%) | (11) Candidly 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 64 here last time. Effective at 11f and though well bred has yet to live up to it; her mark looks fair. Recent C&D fourth augurs well; draw a negative though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (33/1 +0%)Sinbad My Dad |
33/1(+0%) | (2) Sinbad My Dad 33/1, Below form when down in trip and well beaten in a handicap over 8f at Galway last time. Effective from 8-10f on good or softer ground; a hurdler who has shaped as if further may suit but unreliable. Testing ground probably not ideal at Galway; still others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/1 -150%)Metamorphic |
10/1(-150%) | (5) Metamorphic 10/1, Ran to form when 3l third in a maiden over 9f at Gowran Park last time. Effective from 9-12f and in good form, worth marking up her penultimate run. Lightly raced 3yo a potential improver now switched to this surface for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (25/1 -56%)Boyne Valley |
25/1(-56%) | (13) Boyne Valley 25/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off 55 over 10f at Navan three starts back and ran to form when eighth beaten 7l off 61 last time. Effective at 10f and in form, though her mark now looks about right. Navan winner at this trip last month safely held since off this mark; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (12/1 +40%)Jess Abi |
12/1(+40%) | (12) Jess Abi 12/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when beaten 7l over 7f at Fairyhouse last time after a short break. Likely suited by 7f or 1m but not the biggest and yet to build on her promising debut. Maiden tried over various trips in four turf runs; AW debut and upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (33/1 -65%)Selective Power |
33/1(-65%) | (3) Selective Power 33/1, Scored by 7 1/2l off 59 over 7f at Roscommon in September and ran to form when seventh beaten 5l off 70 last time. Effective over 7-8f; inconsistent, mark looks stiff and stamina remains a concern. All four wins have been over shorter, including here (7f); yet to convince at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (16/1 -167%)Mythical Rock |
16/1(-167%) | (9) Mythical Rock 16/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 10l in a handicap over 7f at Galway last time. Effective at 8f but barely gets 10f; an inconsistent maiden who remains fairly treated if building on recent efforts. Maiden not one to rule out back up in trip here (placed over C&D last winter). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (14/1 +0%)Burford Beauty |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Burford Beauty 14/1, Bit below form when beaten 7l in an 8f handicap here last time. Effective around 7f but yet to make an impact in handicaps. Just fair form in handicaps over shorter; needs to improve for this step up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (14/1 +0%)Church Mountain |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Church Mountain 14/1, Scored by a head off 60 here in August. Never threatened after blowing the start when sixth beaten 7l off 68 last time. Usually held up and remains well treated on old form but unreliable. Three-time C&D winner; hasn't counted last twice over different trips; can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (25/1 +24%)Saturn Five |
25/1(+24%) | (6) Saturn Five 25/1, May have found the ground too testing when down the field in a handicap over 10f at The Curragh last time. Effective over 10f on the all-weather but has a bit to prove for his new yard. Two runs last month for current yard leave lots of room for improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) (18/1 -13%)Battle Borne |
18/1(-13%) | (14) Battle Borne 18/1, Outpaced but ran to form when beaten 4 1/2l in an 8f handicap here last time. Effective between 7-9f and consistent in a short career with a fair mark. Ran okay on recent handicap debut here (1m); could have more to offer now upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (7) (12/1 -167%)Dromore Glory |
12/1(-167%) | (7) Dromore Glory 12/1, Ran to form off a 5lb higher mark when beaten 6 1/2l in a 12f handicap here last time. Previously in good form and now partnered by a top course jockey. Absent since April but won on comeback early in year so has to be respected; Keane booked. |

CANDIDLY showed more on her first visit here last month and looks capable of winning from a lowly mark of 64. The daughter of Churchill, who is out of a sister to Rock Of Gibraltar, did hint at ability in maidens but got much closer when fourth to Cala Bonita over course and distance last time, in what was a competitive enough heat. She remains open to a further improvement. Metamorphic ran well in a maiden at Gowran last time and is also still relatively unexposed. She could play a leading role on her handicap debut. Mythical Rock has been consistent in defeat and could reach the frame again.

Dromore Glory is respected on comeback but preference is for recent C&D fourth CANDIDLY to build on that promising effort
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
