Evens(+0%) | (4) Classical Creek Evens, Ran to form up in grade when third, beaten 5l, in the Future Champions Flat Race (Listed) over 2m here on his latest start. (8) (10/3 +0%)Fillyoureye |
10/3(+0%) | (8) Fillyoureye 10/3, Improved from debut when winning a bumper at Kilbeggan over 2m by 2½l last time. Form of debut run franked and the pick on balance of form with promise of more to come up in trip now hurdling for top yard. Colreevy's half-brother; Kilbeggan bumper win came on better ground; ground a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/1 +0%)Coyote Spirit |
11/1(+0%) | (6) Coyote Spirit 11/1, Ran to form on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Down Royal last time. In good form prior, and his bumper form has been franked. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (40/1 +0%)Button Rock |
40/1(+0%) | (3) Button Rock 40/1, Outpaced but ran to form when well beaten in an auction hurdle over 2m1f at Clonmel last time. Yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Effective between 2m and 2½m, and the step back up in trip looks a plus though may need handicaps. Well held in both maiden hurdles, yard have stronger contenders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (40/1 +0%)Dontcavein |
40/1(+0%) | (7) Dontcavein 40/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 24l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Naas last time. Effective at 2m–2¼m on yielding or heavy ground, and the longer trip should suit. Okay efforts in recent maiden hurdles at Galway and Naas; looks more one for handicaps. |

(10) (40/1 +0%)Gunnery Sergeant |
40/1(+0%) | (10) Gunnery Sergeant 40/1, Green and made mistakes but showed minor promise when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Limerick. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(15) (40/1 +0%)Whatafoolbelieves |
40/1(+0%) | (15) Whatafoolbelieves 40/1, Below debut form when well beaten in a bumper over 2m3f at Kilbeggan last time. Returns from a short break and needs to find more. Two bumper runs just okay; will need to improve plenty for switch to hurdles to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 +0%)Bryson |
50/1(+0%) | (2) Bryson 50/1, Had too much to do when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Down Royal last time. Trainer in form and effective at 2m1f on yielding or good ground. Should appreciate the step up in trip but may prove better suited to handicaps. Tendency to jump left on both Down Royal maiden runs; lots to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

80/1(+0%) | (18) Danny The Champ 80/1, Outpaced and below debut form when finishing down the field in a 4yo bumper over 2m at Listowel last time. Off a short break and hard to recommend. Big odds, well held in bumpers at Punchestown and Listowel; best watched on hurdles debut. |

100/1(+0%) | (19) Euro Maker 100/1, Green and failed to build on debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown. Wears a hood for the first time. Effective at 2m on good ground but looks one for low-grade handicaps at best. Two maiden runs don't inspire confidence; hood now replaces tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (200/1 +0%)Gethegoodtimesroll |
200/1(+0%) | (9) Gethegoodtimesroll 200/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability. Longer trips should suit over hurdles but he has it all to prove. Ran out halfway in recent Clonmel maiden hurdle; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

200/1(+0%) | (13) Sekakarma 200/1, Failed to stay when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m7f at Down Royal last time. Absent for a very lengthy period and plenty more needed. Ordinary form in three maiden hurdles in 2023; long absence to overcome. |

(5) (250/1 +0%)Come On Mccaff |
250/1(+0%) | (5) Come On Mccaff 250/1, Too green to show anything on debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown. Wears a hood for the first time and has everything to prove. Behind throughout on last month's Punchestown debut; hood now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (40/1 0%)Pat's Legacy |
40/1(0%) | (12) Pat's Legacy 40/1, Walk In The Park gelding; half-brother to Friends N Commerce, useful from 22f to 24f. Walk In The Park 5yo worth a market check on debut. |

CLASSICAL CREEK has smart form and represents a yard that targets this meeting. A 10-length winner of a point-to-point and successful on his bumper debut, he also finished third in a Listed bumper here last December. He hasn't raced since and was withdrawn lame from Graded races in February and April, but will be ready for his reappearance. Fillyoureye, a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Colreevy, won a bumper in the spring but although open to progression over jumps, that Kilbeggan form isn't outstanding and he might struggle to beat the selection. The Store Boy has shown ability, while Agameoftwohalves is out of a triple bumper winner.

Gordon Elliott has won this in three of the last four years and could hold the ace here with CLASSICAL CREEK

10/11(+27%) | (3) Reinado 10/11, Every chance when fell in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las latest; effective around 2m, acts on S, G; chance if okay after fall. Was stalking the leaders before last-flight fall at Ffos Las; good chance here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (11/5 +37%)Feet On The Ground |
11/5(+37%) | (2) Feet On The Ground 11/5, Below form, may have needed run down the field in a maiden hurdle here most recent; effective at 2m, acts on S; more chance back in a handicap. Placed in two soft-ground C&D maidens last season; big player in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/2 +10%)Kabuki |
9/2(+10%) | (1) Kabuki 9/2, Again showed little when finishing down the field in a novice over 8f at Southwell last time; effective at 2m1f and acts on good ground; return to hurdles may help. Second of five behind short-odds winner on latest hurdle start; bit more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (25/1 +0%)Talap |
25/1(+0%) | (7) Talap 25/1, Again ran to a poor level when 68l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time; should be effective at 2m but improvement is needed. Six-time Flat winner but yet to show any significant promise over hurdles (four runs). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (28/1 -12%)Huxley |
28/1(-12%) | (5) Huxley 28/1, Bit below form when tried in blinkers and back on the Flat, beaten 7 1/4l in a 10f handicap at Brighton last time; still needs to prove stamina for 2m over hurdles. Regressive Flat maiden; ran okay on first of three hurdle runs; ground a big worry here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (40/1 +0%)Battle Stride |
40/1(+0%) | (8) Battle Stride 40/1, Below form when tried in a hood and down the field in a maiden hurdle at Warwick last time; effective at 2m and acts on good ground; improvement needed now handicapping. Showed minor promise on second hurdle start but has breathing issues; handicap debut. |

REINADO looked certain to go close when falling at the last at Ffos Las recently. This wouldn't appear to be the deepest of contests so, provided that tumble hasn't knocked his confidence, he must have an excellent chance. Kabuki should appreciate a return to hurdles having struggled on the Flat in the summer, while market support for handicap debutant Huxley would be noteworthy.

This could be a good opportunity for REINADO, who had not been asked for his effort before his last-flight fall at Ffos Las last month.

2/1(+50%) | (6) The Big Breac 2/1, Bit below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Hexham last time; stays 3m and acts on soft ground, with possible improvement now switching to fences. 2-2 at Wetherby, namely hurdles wins last winter; interesting back here on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/4 +39%)Great Notions |
11/4(+39%) | (1) Great Notions 11/4, Improved from his chase debut, doing plenty early when finishing 10l third in a hunter chase over 3m1f at Cartmel last time; effective at 3m, acts on good ground, and not ruled out back in a handicap. Consistent in points and hunter chases; looks a solid contender on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/3 +17%)Jupiter Des Bordes |
10/3(+17%) | (3) Jupiter Des Bordes 10/3, Well backed and ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 106 over 2m6f at Fontwell last time; effective up to 2m5f, acts on soft and good ground, and could improve up in trip. Largely consistent form for new stable; this new trip is worth exploring; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/2 -64%)Monochromix |
9/2(-64%) | (5) Monochromix 9/2, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Perth last time; effective from 2m4f to 3m and suited by some give in the ground, but currently in moderate form. Still a maiden but is well treated on best efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 -100%)Court At Slip |
16/1(-100%) | (4) Court At Slip 16/1, Outpaced and below form when fourth, beaten 13l in a handicap chase at Perth latest; effective up to 3m and acts on soft and good ground but needs more. Well handicapped if coming back to best form, which includes three wins in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 -22%)Community Rebel |
22/1(-22%) | (7) Community Rebel 22/1, Needed the run when pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Sedgefield latest; effective at 3m and acts on good ground, though inconsistent overall. Far from solid on his form for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (28/1 -75%)Monaghan Boy |
28/1(-75%) | (8) Monaghan Boy 28/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Sedgefield most recent; effective up to 3m3f, acts on soft ground, but has a bit to prove on return. Record is only 1-19; 5lb out of the weights; opposed. |

Saint Arvans was almost able to exploit a sliding handicap mark when second at Kelso and, despite a 1lb rise, he can launch another stern challenge. However, stepping up to 3m appeared likely to suit JUPITER DES BORDES for much of last season and now afforded just that, he could take the necessary step forward. The Big Breac struggled at Hexham when last seen in March, but he was otherwise progressive last term and is interesting now sent over fences.

Interesting chase debutant THE BIG BREAC is preferred, ahead of solid contenders Jupiter Des Bordes and Great Notions.

(9) (5/2 +0%)Watching The Clock |
5/2(+0%) | (9) Watching The Clock 5/2, Scored by 3 1/2l off 93 over 2m at Gowran Park on her penultimate start. Had too much to do when fourth, beaten 4 1/2l off 103 last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on good or soft ground. Progressing and should benefit from stepping back up in trip. Won nicely at Gowran on 2nd h'cap start; promise in recent fourth but jumping let her down. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (7/1 +0%)Club Manager |
7/1(+0%) | (4) Club Manager 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 107 over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on any going. Generally consistent. Sole success over hurdles came off 5lb lower but ran well last time when 2nd; place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (8/1 +0%)Bossing It |
8/1(+0%) | (10) Bossing It 8/1, All but fell as the race was developing but still ran to form when third, beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Galway last time. Returns from a short break and is effective from 2m to 2m5f. Maiden hurdle winner has steadily improved in 3 h'cap runs but needs more to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/1 +0%)Its Not Over Yet |
9/1(+0%) | (5) Its Not Over Yet 9/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Punchestown last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Best around 3m on easy ground and looks on a fair mark. Dual-hurdles winner came back to form at Ballinrobe but didn't back it up; soft suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 +0%)Killinure Lass |
10/1(+0%) | (2) Killinure Lass 10/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 105 at Tramore on her penultimate start and ran to form when fourth, beaten 7l off 110 last time. Trainer in form. Effective from 2m to 2 3/4m and goes well at Tramore over hurdles and fences. On a career high mark following fifth hurdles win on penultimate; some better handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (10/1 +0%)Themanintheboots |
10/1(+0%) | (11) Themanintheboots 10/1, Returned to form when beaten a neck off 100 over 3m at Ayr last time. Blinkers on for the first time. Best at 3m, acts on soft and sound surfaces. On a fair mark if building on that recent revival. Struggled since back-to-back wins in 2023 but better at Ayr last time; can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 +0%)Clonbury Bridge |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Clonbury Bridge 14/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off 110 over 3m at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start and ran to form when sixth, beaten 11l off 115 last time. Trainer in form. Well treated on old form but inconsistent. Effective at 2 1/2m and ideally wants some give. Six career wins and 12lb lower mark in this sphere but not sure to make it count. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (14/1 +0%)Mon Sheriffe |
14/1(+0%) | (12) Mon Sheriffe 14/1, Every chance and ran to form when fourth, beaten 14l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Cork last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m. In fair form but the mark demands more. Too keen around here over 2m5f and a distant fourth at Cork over 18.5f last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (14/1 +0%)Midleton Rare |
14/1(+0%) | (14) Midleton Rare 14/1, Scored by 2l off 85 over 2m3f at Limerick on his penultimate start but may not have stayed when 16th, beaten 32l off 93 last time. Effective around 2 1/2m with cut and remains well treated on bumper form. Made immediate impact for new yard in tongue-tie, but tailed off last time; hard to trust. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (20/1 +0%)Arch Enemy |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Arch Enemy 20/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m and worth a try at 2 1/2m. In poor form in both codes. Still 8lb above mark for sole hurdles win; out of form on Flat and fell latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (20/1 +0%)Must Meet Cecil |
20/1(+0%) | (8) Must Meet Cecil 20/1, Kicked on far too soon and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m and prefers decent ground. Well handicapped on claiming form but conditions could be a concern. Front-runner may struggle at this distance on softer conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (25/1 +0%)The Little Yank |
25/1(+0%) | (13) The Little Yank 25/1, Not best placed and a bit below form when fourth, beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Sligo last time. Usually held up. Effective at 3m and wants decent ground. Well treated on old hurdle and chase form though conditions may be a concern. Experienced 10yo is 2lb below last winning mark and ran creditably on penultimate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/1 0%)Paul's Dream |
7/1(0%) | (1) Paul's Dream 7/1, Landed a handicap by 3 1/2l off 103 over 2m at Fairyhouse on her penultimate start. Fell in the Oddschecker Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) when travelling and closing late looking a threat. Progressive at 2m on yielding or good ground and may get a bit further. Looks thrown in back in a handicap and could be tough to beat. Improving mare has bagged two wins and ran well at Cheltenham; soft conditions a question. |

WATCHING THE CLOCK is a progressive four-year-old who should be suited by reverting to this distance. Her initial form was unexciting but having scored on soft ground at Gowran last month, she subsequently finished well for fourth at Punchestown. She can continue to progress and the extra half-mile will help. Similarly, Paul's Dream steps up in trip, having been in contention when falling at the second-last in Cheltenham. She could well improve at this distance, but is unproven on heavy ground. Killinure Lass wasn't disgraced at Thurles when attempting to follow up on her earlier Tramore success and must enter calculations from an unchanged mark.

A lot in with chances, but the tentative nod is given to WATCHING THE CLOCK, who is in the mix with a better round of jumping

(1) (9/4 +10%)Precious Man |
9/4(+10%) | (1) Precious Man 9/4, Improved when winning a juvenile hurdle at Auteuil over 2m2f by a head last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective around 2m and handles ground with some cut; showed useful form in France and should have more to offer for a top yard. British debutant whose French form, shown at Auteuil, has substance; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (5/2 +55%)Secret Force |
5/2(+55%) | (10) Secret Force 5/2, Won a juvenile hurdle at Punchestown by 6 1/2l last time; effective at 2m and acts on any ground; very well bred and could progress further for his new yard over hurdles; probably already sets the form standard on debut effort. 2-2 for new yard, last time winning a notable race at Punchestown on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (10/3 +72%)One Horse Town |
10/3(+72%) | (9) One Horse Town 10/3, Quickened clear easily and improved under a positive ride at a sharp track when outclassing rivals to win a juvenile hurdle at Kempton by 10l last time; effective at 2m on good ground; looks a useful summer recruit over hurdles who isn't dismissed up in grade. Three easy wins since switched to this code; brings potential to these deeper waters. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (8/1 +43%)Galactique |
8/1(+43%) | (3) Galactique 8/1, Still learning but improved to defy a penalty when winning a juvenile hurdle at Fontwell over 2m2f by 2 1/4l last time; effective at 2m on decent ground; the yard does well with ex-Flat horses in this sphere and the stiff track should suit. Progressive in juvenile hurdles at Fontwell; new scenario and upped in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (12/1 +25%)Kate O'riley |
12/1(+25%) | (12) Kate O'riley 12/1, The yard has won the last two renewals of this race; overcame greenness on a promising hurdle debut when winning a maiden hurdle at Ludlow by 4l last time; effective at 2m and acts on good to firm ground; unproven on softer going. Easy success against her own sex at Ludlow; now the sole filly in a stronger field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (12/1 +45%)Lord |
12/1(+45%) | (7) Lord 12/1, Quickened clear with ease and outclassed rivals when winning a juvenile hurdle at Market Rasen over 2m1f by 7 1/2l last time; effective around 2m, acts on good to soft and good ground, and may handle cut; continues to progress but this demands much more. Productive (2111) in juvenile hurdles for Olly Murphy; limitations not yet exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 -191%)Hallelujah U |
16/1(-191%) | (4) Hallelujah U 16/1, The yard has won the last two runnings of this race; ran to form when beaten 6l in a handicap over 1m6f at Goodwood last time; returning from a break and could be competitive for yard which does well with similar types on hurdle debut. Brings good credentials to this sphere, based on his Flat form and connections. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (50/1 +0%)Kasper Hauser |
50/1(+0%) | (6) Kasper Hauser 50/1, Still green and made mistakes but improved when beaten 6l in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; had been in good form prior; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; progressive over hurdles but looks vulnerable up in grade. Still seeking first win of any description and faces a stiff task. |

Hallelujah U wasn't beaten far in the Queen's Vase and was third behind Scandinavia in the Bahrain Trophy, and his connections have won this race for the past two seasons with Burdett Road and East India Dock. That pair had previous jumping experience, though, something PRECIOUS MAN has from Auteuil, where he had subsequent winners behind when successful in May. He is just preferred to fellow French recruit Parchment, who impressed at Clairefontaine and has since joined David Pipe. Secret Force looked a natural at Punchestown and must be feared.

Given that his Auteuil form has worked out nicely, PRECIOUS MAN could well defy top weight. Parchment is second pick.

(7) (11/2 0%)Rene's Walk |
11/2(0%) | (7) Rene's Walk 11/2, Improved when fourth, beaten 8l in a mares' bumper over 2m at Warwick last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to soft ground. Trip should suit now hurdling. Well-bred mare; fourth of 13 in Warwick bumper in February; ought to make presence felt. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (125/1 -150%)Shesonnet |
125/1(-150%) | (9) Shesonnet 125/1, Showed a bit more than on debut when well beaten in an amateurs' bumper over 2m here last time. Needs to improve now switching to hurdles. Showed nothing more than minor promise in two good-ground bumpers; hurdle debut. |

Many of these lack experience over timber, but dual bumper winner QUEENOFTHEJUKEBOX could make a smooth transition to hurdling. There is plenty of stamina on the dam's side, but she is from the family of classy two-miler Accordion Etoile so this intermediate trip shouldn't be a problem. Harmony Heights shaped with promise on her hurdling bow at Chepstow and is entitled to improve. Irish import Cool Brise and Rene's Walk would also warrant consideration should the market react favourably to them.

Course bumper winner QUEENOFTHEJUKEBOX looks a good prospect for novice hurdles this season and gets the nod.

(4) (40/1 -21%)The Final Brig |
40/1(-21%) | (4) The Final Brig 40/1, Made a moderate debut when well beaten in a 2m bumper here on sole start; longer distances should suit when tackling hurdles. Down the field in Wetherby bumper last December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (66/1 -65%)Rock Dj |
66/1(-65%) | (3) Rock Dj 66/1, Ran to a similar level as on debut when well beaten in a 2m novice hurdle at Ayr; likely to want further than 2m, so this longer trip should suit. Comfortably held in both attempts under rules. |

GET ON GEORGE confirmed the promise of his narrow bumper defeat on debut at Hexham when filling fourth place on his first start over hurdles at Carlisle. On that evidence, the five-year-old could be hard to beat in this company. Smart Decision is already a three-time winner over hurdles, but they were Junior NH contests last season and this will demand more from him. Uptown Dandy is the clear pick of the remainder.

The biggest players on hurdles form are GET ON GEORGE and Smart Decision, while Uptown Dandy is interesting.

(6) (13/2 +0%)Colonia Victoria |
13/2(+0%) | (6) Colonia Victoria 13/2, Had too much to do when dropped in trip but improved when second beaten 4l in a novice hurdle at Wexford last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts with cut, and should be suited by this stiff track. Unexposed and looks a big player on handicap bow. Cork maiden winner can build on 2nd place at Wexford last time but further may suit. |

(14) (20/1 +0%)Kate Knows Best |
20/1(+0%) | (14) Kate Knows Best 20/1, Made mistakes but still ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park last time. (11) (33/1 +0%)Petit King |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Petit King 33/1, Pulled up in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Out of form over hurdles and fences for some time. Sole win came two years ago and was PU when last seen at Fairyhouse in April; unlikely. |

(4) (13/2 -30%)Balko D'ange |
13/2(-30%) | (4) Balko D'ange 13/2, Below form up in grade when comfortably held in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Down Royal last time. Effective at 2m, acts on heavy and good ground, and generally consistent. Won off 9lb lower in December; shaped well on seasonal return but disappointed last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 0%)Luker's Tipple |
9/1(0%) | (7) Luker's Tipple 9/1, Ran to form when second beaten 2 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground, consistent over hurdles though a little frustrating. Beaten at short odds several times inc' at 1-2 at Downpatrick last month; hard to trust. |

COLONIA VICTORIA is useful and should compete from her 118 rating. Placed fourth at Group 3 level on the Flat in Italy in 2023, she scored over hurdles at Cork back in April, beating a now 119-rated runner-up, while the third also scored subsequently. She conceded weight to the winner at Wexford recently and has form on soft ground. Lambay Island was heavily supported when finishing a close enough third on his return at Thurles. That form is unexciting, but he met race-fit rivals on lively ground and can progress. Scalpnagoon's last two starts were disappointing, but he had previously shown ability and it is encouraging that Jack Kennedy rides on his reappearance.

None of them jump off the page, so although COLONIA VICTORIA looks like further will suit better perhaps she can get away with it here

Unable to land a blow at spring festivals but this is easier; possibilities. |

(9) (8/1 +20%)Sound And Fury |
8/1(+20%) | (9) Sound And Fury 8/1, Returned to form down in trip, jumping much better to land a handicap by a neck off 123 over 3m2f at Carlisle last time; effective from 3m to 3¼m on soft or good ground and generally consistent. Reappearance win took his chase record to 3-6; likely to remain competitive. |

18/1(-50%) | (14) Imperial Alex 18/1, Built on recent revival when benefiting from a drop in grade to win a handicap by 1 1/2l off 117 over 3m at Perth last time; progressive sort but revised mark demands more. Won at Perth when last seen five months ago; may remain competitive. |

18/1(-29%) | (13) Ideal Des Bordes 18/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap chase here most recently; trainer in form and effective over 3m on good to soft or good ground; forecast rain looks a worry Second-season chaser who is competitively weighted on the pick of his form. |

18/1(+28%) | (16) Cheerful Chap 18/1, Needed the run and failed to stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Gowran Park last time; consistent and better suited to 2–2½m. Form has dipped markedly in last two outings; yet to win over fences. |

(18) (20/1 +9%)Planned Paradise |
20/1(+9%) | (18) Planned Paradise 20/1, Outpaced and needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap chase here most recently; usually held up and consistent across various trips, though ideally suited to marathon distances. Soundly beaten in C&D contest last time. |

33/1(+0%) | (11) Sizable Sam 33/1, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m3f at Wincanton last time; returning from a long layoff, likes to make the running, effective at 3m; form has dipped since the break. Last season's form suggests he may not retain peak ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (80/1 -60%)Plan Of Attack |
80/1(-60%) | (7) Plan Of Attack 80/1, Travelled well and possibly went for home a bit soon when fourth, beaten 5l in a hunter chase over 2m7f at Killarney last time; visor on for the first time; has good record here but not the force of old. No win under rules since 2019; debut for new yard. |

Even accounting for the fact that AUREA FORTUNA is 15lb higher than for last month's comfortable Punchestown triumph, he is still 5lb below his hurdles rating. He is unlikely to slip under the radar with punters, but should be open to plenty more improvement. Sound And Fury contributed to Ben Pauling's fine recent run when making a successful comeback at Carlisle. Kelce offered plenty of encouragement when fourth under today's rider over C&D last month, and represents last year's winning stable. Imperial Alex has been freshened up following a Perth victory and commands attention too.

Back down in grade, HERAKLES WESTWOOD could well resume his progress. Kelce is second choice, ahead of Sound And Fury.

(5) (13/8 +35%)Gold Clermont |
13/8(+35%) | (5) Gold Clermont 13/8, Below form when comfortably held up in grade in a handicap chase over 3m7f at Exeter last time. (4) (5/1 +29%)Gold Emery |
5/1(+29%) | (4) Gold Emery 5/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a mark of 110 here last time, with cheekpieces left off. Effective up to 3m2f and handles heavy and good to soft ground; considered if ready after a break. Ran game race in defeat over C&D in January; absent since; others appeal more. |

(2) (28/1 -155%)Bretney |
28/1(-155%) | (2) Bretney 28/1, Below form, may have needed run when pulled up in a handicap chase at Fontwell latest; effective 3m-4m, acts well on S; inconsistent but capable on his day. Pulled up four times in a row since Borders National win last December; too risky. |

AWORKINPROGRESS might have lived up to his name over hurdles, but it was a completely different story when switched to the larger obstacles last term. A perfect four from four so far, including a hat-trick of wins at Lingfield, the progressive gelding may still be well handicapped from 7lb higher. Given that he's been successful when fresh previously, this could be another fine opportunity. Broomfields Cave has a lengthy absence to overcome but looks the biggest threat, although Gold Clermont should benefit from a drop in trip.

It will be interesting to see what Olly Murphy can do with GOLD CLERMONT (nap), who makes his seasonal/stable debut from a good mark.

(2) (12/1 -118%)Bust A Move |
12/1(-118%) | (2) Bust A Move 12/1, Well backed and keen when improving on handicap debut, landing a handicap by 3l off 114 over 2m1f at Newcastle last time. Wears a hood for the first time now; effective around 2m4f, acts on good to soft and good ground; capable of better. 4yo who is 2-3 over hurdles and could play a leading role on his reappearance. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (33/1 -50%)Ballygeary |
33/1(-50%) | (4) Ballygeary 33/1, Outpaced and unsuited by how the race developed when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter most recently. Effective up to 2m4f, acts on soft and good ground; on a workable mark but unreliable. Close third on stable debut at Market Rasen in July but below par in his one run since. |

The progressive Saligo Bay has to be given the utmost respect after his C&D win two weeks ago, but a chance can be taken on MALYSTIC. Peter Niven's veteran has not been seen over hurdles since 2020, but has proven to be a quality chaser since then. He won at Kelso in September off a mark of 129 and that suggests that he can play a big role here off just 1lb higher. Bust A Move and Hara Kiri are others to consider.

The 4yo MARCHE D'ALIGRE returns from a break with trainer Jamie Snowden in excellent form and earns the vote.

3/1(+0%) | (2) Ace Brannigan 3/1, Made a very promising hurdle debut, landing a gamble when suited by a positive ride to win a maiden hurdle at Tipperary by 6 1/2l last time; effective at 2m, debut form has been franked and more improvement is expected; will get further in time. Easily beat Letos (subsequent Brown Lad winner) in latest start; strong chance. |

(6) (9/1 +0%)Whimsy |
9/1(+0%) | (6) Whimsy 9/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 6 1/2l, in the BOYLE Sports Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at Tipperary last time; consistent at around 2m and handles any ground; in career-best form but may be vulnerable to a less exposed rival at this level. Ran well in a Gr.3 when last seen and is solid yardstick but others may bring more talent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (13/2 +0%)Ma Jacks Hill |
13/2(+0%) | (3) Ma Jacks Hill 13/2, From a yard that has won the last two runnings of this race; outpaced but ran to form when second, beaten 3l, in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Galway latest; effective at 2-2 1/2m and acts on soft and yielding; may improve further over longer trips. 3l behind I'll Sort That last time off level weights, but the choice of Kennedy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (15/2 +0%)Theflyingking |
15/2(+0%) | (4) Theflyingking 15/2, From a yard successful in the last two editions of this race; fell in a maiden hurdle over 2m7f at Down Royal latest when going well; effective between 2m and 2 3/4m; a consistent bumper winner with more to come over hurdles, possibly at longer distances, though the stable's second string on jockey bookings. Point and bumper winner fell at the last when looked like winner latest; Kennedy deserts. |

(5) (25/1 +0%)Eye Of A Tiger |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Eye Of A Tiger 25/1, Outclassed when third, beaten 30l, in the Bottlegreen Hurdle (Listed) over 2m1f at Down Royal most recently; effective at 2-2 1/4m on good ground; generally consistent but needs a drop in grade. Tailed off when upped in grade at Down Royal latest and soft conditions not sure to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 +0%)You Make Me Smile |
125/1(+0%) | (7) You Make Me Smile 125/1, Improved when handling testing ground to win a handicap at Galway over 12f by 4 1/2l last time; effective at 2m on good over hurdles and 12f on the Flat; in good form in both codes but vulnerable in this grade. In good heart with a hurdle and Flat win in recent starts, but out of depth here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/8 0%)I'll Sort That |
11/8(0%) | (1) I'll Sort That 11/8, Ran to form when stepping up in trip, though slightly fortunate due to a late faller, when winning a novice hurdle at Galway over 2m5f by 3l last time; effective at 2-2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground; progressing. Maiden hurdle winner was possibly lucky to win at Galway latest but the one to beat. |

ACE BRANNIGAN looked capable in winning last month and remains unexposed. Well related, he finished a close second on point-to-point debut last December and, at Tipperary, defeated last weekend's Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle winner Letos comfortably. He has form on soft ground and is suited by this distance. Capable but keen, I'll Sort That was under pressure when left clear at the last in Galway and although 4lb worse off with Ma Jacks Hill, can confirm the form if he settles better. It is a negative that Theflyingking is his trainer's apparent second string because he is closely matched with I'll Sort That on bumper form and was unlucky last time at Down Royal.

ACE BRANNIGAN (nap) comprehensively beat subsequent Brown Lad winner Letos last time and can defeat main rival I'll Sort That

(5) (6/5 +0%)July Flower |
6/5(+0%) | (5) July Flower 6/5, Went clear with ease on a very promising debut when outclassing rivals to win a beginners' chase at Limerick over 2m3f by 11l last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and suited by plenty of cut; more to come over fences for yard which excels with chasers. Clearcut win on chase debut at Limerick suggests she can take high rank among the novices. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (3/1 +10%)Be Aware |
3/1(+10%) | (1) Be Aware 3/1, Yard won this last year; outclassed rivals when dropping in grade to win a handicap chase at Stratford over 2m3f by 4l last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and suited by decent ground; more to come over fences for this top yard, worth the step up in grade. Had some strong handicap hurdle form and made a smooth transition to chasing at Stratford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 +18%)Burdett Road |
9/2(+18%) | (4) Burdett Road 9/2, Ran to form but could not wear down the all-the-way winner when second, beaten a length, in a Listed Hurdle at Kempton last time. Classy hurdler sets standard on form in that sphere; chance if handling the easier ground on chase debut. Classy hurdler, last year's Greatwood winner here; a serious player if taking to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (6/1 +8%)Stencil |
6/1(+8%) | (6) Stencil 6/1, Keen and possibly wanted easier ground when finishing down the field in the 'Fred Winter' Juvenile Handicap Hurdle here on his most recent start; showed useful form in France over hurdles but more needed switched to fences. 4yo; promising second over hurdles here in January; gets weight all round on chase debut. |

(3) (18/1 -13%)Brentford Hope |
18/1(-13%) | (3) Brentford Hope 18/1, Below form when well beaten in the Killashee Hotel Handicap Hurdle (Listed) over 2m1f at Punchestown last time; prefers some give in the ground and has an outside chance if taking to chasing. Useful hurdler; starts chasing career relatively late and others may have more potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (28/1 +15%)Breaking Cover |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Breaking Cover 28/1, Travelled well and ran to form when second, beaten a length, in the Rising Stars Novices' Chase (Grade 2) over 2m4f at Wincanton last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and just about stays 2 1/2m; remains progressive. Five wins since July; ran well in Grade 2 novice last week but faces an even stiffer task. |

Dan Skelton treads the same path as he did with last year's winner L'eau Du Sud, with Be Aware arriving after making a successful chasing debut in a Stratford handicap. July Flower also made a seamless transition to fences when scoring at Limerick and is a player in receipt of the mares' allowance, but BURDETT ROAD is a class act. Victorious at this meeting for the past two years, James Owen's five-year-old avoided the Champion Hurdle drama to pick up the silver medal and warmed up for this new test with a solid second behind Rubaud at Kempton.

Be Aware was impressive on his chasing debut but even stronger claims are held by the easy Limerick winner JULY FLOWER.

2/1(+56%) | (2) Lunar Discovery 2/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Newton Abbot last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f, acts on any ground, and looks fairly treated. Below form last time but has good claims if judged on C&D third in September. |

(4) (11/4 +8%)Blacksamssenorita |
11/4(+8%) | (4) Blacksamssenorita 11/4, Below form when stepped up in trip and set it up for closers when second, beaten 13l, in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton last time; effective from 2m1f to 2m4f and acts on good to soft and good to firm; brings potential to fences. Absent since short-odds defeat over hurdles in April but has potential over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/2 -100%)Passing Kate |
9/2(-100%) | (5) Passing Kate 9/2, Improved when benefitting from a pace collapse to land a handicap by 1 1/2l off 101 over 2m3f at Chepstow last time; effective around 2m4f and acts on soft ground; a big player if ready to go. 2-3 when switched to fences at start of year; major player if tuned up after her break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/1 -25%)Lime Drop |
5/1(-25%) | (1) Lime Drop 5/1, Was just getting going when falling in a handicap chase here last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on good to soft and good ground. Won this race last year and should go well again if handling the softer ground. Won this race in 2024 but the ground may be slower than she prefers today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/2 +21%)Brucio |
11/2(+21%) | (3) Brucio 11/2, Needed the run and may have found the ground too quick when 43l third in the Tom Malone Bloodstock Novices' Chase (Listed) over 2m3f at Chepstow last time; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; could improve now handicapping. Tricky to weigh up at present but this is an ease in grade. |

Last year's winner Lime Drop is back for more, although she is 10lb higher this time around and arrives following a fall on her reappearance. She still warrants consideration but BLACKSAMSSENORITA showed good ability as a novice hurdler and is fancied to take her game to a new level now she tackles fences, with a mark of 108 perfectly acceptable on her handicap bow. Passing Kate has won both completed starts in this sphere, although her jumping when pulled up in between those victories gives cause for concern.

The pick is LUNAR DISCOVERY, who needs to rebound from a below-par run last month but was a creditable third over C&D in September.

5/4(+9%) | (2) Meetmebythesea 5/4, Too keen but improved up in trip on handicap debut when beaten 3/4l off 128 over 2m4f at Sandown last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f; acts on good to soft; has point experience and almost certainly more to offer now chasing. 3rd of 16 in the EBF Final in March; connections waste little time in sending him chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/4 +21%)Ruby Island |
11/4(+21%) | (5) Ruby Island 11/4, Improved to land a handicap by 7l off 118 over 2m1f at Ayr last time; trainer in form; effective from 2m to 2m4f; acts on soft and good; a progressive sort with more to come. Comfortable win at Ayr recently in her second chase and she's open to further improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 -20%)Push The Button |
4/1(-20%) | (1) Push The Button 4/1, Ran to form, appreciating the stiff track and drop in trip when winning a beginners' chase at Carlisle over 2m by 1 1/2l last time; effective from 2m to 2m6f; acts on soft and good; more to come over fences. Won on stable/chase debut at Carlisle last month and he's a solid candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 +0%)Pleasington |
6/1(+0%) | (3) Pleasington 6/1, Outclassed and well beaten in the Kingsfurze Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) over 2m at Naas last time; effective at 2m; acts on heavy; brings potential to fences. Two-time novice hurdle winner on heavy ground; his brother won this race in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (25/1 -150%)Starcrossed Lover |
25/1(-150%) | (4) Starcrossed Lover 25/1, Below form under a big weight when second, beaten 21l in a novice hurdle over 2m at Haydock last time; effective at 2m; acts on soft and good to soft; could progress again now chasing. Chase debut; has potential off this opening mark if rediscovering last winter's promise. |

Cases can be made for all of these, but none more so than MEETMEBYTHESEA. Ben Pauling's gelding won three times over hurdles as a novice and was only narrowly denied when last seen in the valuable EBF Final at Sandown in March. Recent Ayr winner Ruby Island could prove to be his main danger, despite a 7lb rise, with Pleasington completing the shortlist.

The 5yo MEETMEBYTHESEA was third in the EBF Final at Sandown last time and this point runner-up is the pick ahead of Ruby Island.

8/13(+0%) | (1) The Yellow Clay 8/13, Fell in the Champion Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m5f at Punchestown last time when may have placed. The yard has won three of the last ten runnings of this race, and with the top jockey back on board, Grade 1 winner looks the one to beat. High-class novice last season remains over hurdles for the time being; the one to beat. |

(5) (9/2 +0%)Jetara |
9/2(+0%) | (5) Jetara 9/2, Ran to form when beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap over 2m at Naas last time. A consistent performer who should be competitive now dropping in grade though will want stiff test at the trip. Strong stayer; disappointed in this last season but entitled to go well at the weights. |

(3) (11/1 +0%)Colonel Mustard |
11/1(+0%) | (3) Colonel Mustard 11/1, Ended a long losing run when landing a Conditions Hurdle at Sligo over 2m2f by 3 1/2l after a drop in grade. Effective between 2m and 2 1/2m, probably best at 2m. Consistent but frustrating, though should remain competitive now he's won again. Recent Sligo winner back up in grade here so more needed but not out of it at the weights. |

(6) (11/1 +0%)Mozzies Sister |
11/1(+0%) | (6) Mozzies Sister 11/1, Improved back over hurdles when winning a mares' race at Wexford by 13l, quickening clear cosily. A consistent hurdler up to 3m, though her jumping must sharpen. Bit to find but possible fitness advantage so don't rule out. |

(2) (15/2 +0%)Maxxum |
15/2(+0%) | (2) Maxxum 15/2, Won the Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Hurdle (Grade 2) at Fairyhouse by 3/4l last time, running to his best when benefitting from an easy lead. The yard has taken three of the last ten renewals, and he looks a major threat with easy lead possible. Every chance on ratings but well held in this event last year on seasonal return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (50/1 +0%)Grandero Bello |
50/1(+0%) | (4) Grandero Bello 50/1, Pulled up in the Pat Taaffe Handicap Chase (Listed) over 3m at Punchestown last time and needs to find plenty more to feature here. Didn't handle ground at Punchestown festival; starts off back over hurdles with plenty on. |

Gordon Elliott's THE YELLOW CLAY is two from two over hurdles at this venue and his proven ability on testing ground will be a real asset to him. Although he would prefer a sounder surface, he powered clear on heavy ground to land a Grade 3 at this festival last year. Jetara is race-fit from the Flat and has a couple of placed efforts in Grade 1 company at Aintree and Punchestown to call upon. She has the assistance of Paul Townend and is a big player. Elliott's Maxxum is only rated 3lb inferior to The Yellow Clay and is a winner at Grade 2 level over flights around here. He is more than capable of a big run from the front.

Denied a recent comeback run at Down Royal due to a skin allergy, THE YELLOW CLAY looks the one to beat

6/1(+0%) | (10) Panic Attack 6/1, Well backed and well treated on chase form, improving on recent efforts when beaten a head off 125 over 2m5f at Warwick last time; well treated on previous chase win; returning from a long layoff and looks in the mix. Tackled fences just once last season and was an easy winner; interesting contender. |

(7) (13/2 +35%)Coming Up Easy |
13/2(+35%) | (7) Coming Up Easy 13/2, Jumped well and improved up in trip under a positive ride, landing a Listed Handicap Chase by 5 1/2l off 132 over 2m5f at Killarney last time; enjoys making the running; off a short break and progressing as trip increases, may stay a little further than 2 1/2m so stiff track a plus. Made it 3-3 in handicap chases in impressive fashion at Killarney; firmly in calculations. |

(14) (13/2 +59%)Hunter Legend |
13/2(+59%) | (14) Hunter Legend 13/2, Likes the track and is well handicapped, improving down in trip to land a handicap by 7l off 122 at Bangor-on-Dee last time; a strong stayer at this trip and progressive. Yard can get them ready after a break so could get involved. This is hotter than he's used to but he's 5-11 over fences and suited by soft/heavy ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (8/1 -45%)Il Ridoto |
8/1(-45%) | (6) Il Ridoto 8/1, Won this race last year; travelled well but tired late when second, beaten 5l in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Chepstow latest; effective at 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground; should come on for the run with this a likely short-term target. Won this 12 months ago and he's just 1lb higher this time around; respected. |

Travelled well when third over 3m1f here on comeback; the drop back in trip is worth a go. |

12/1(+52%) | (9) Theatre Native 12/1, Back to form down in grade when 7l third in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Limerick last time; effective at 2 1/2m and acts on any ground; may have a bit more to come this term with easier ground to suit judged on hurdle form; not forlorn stable second string. Easily won mares' novices' handicap here in April but needs to be better than ever today. |

14/1(+30%) | (11) Conyers Hill 14/1, Ran to form but just flattened out late up in trip behind a race-fit rival, beaten 3l off 129 over 2m3f at Limerick last time; usually held up; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on any ground; improving and should come on for that latest run. Kept on for sixth in the 2m Grand Annual here in March; not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (16/1 +0%)Es Perfecto |
16/1(+0%) | (12) Es Perfecto 16/1, Travelled well but flattened out late, stamina giving way when beaten 9l in a race dominated from the front in the Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (Grade 2) over 2m5f here last time. Vulnerable to stronger stayers on reappearance 5th of 19 at the Festival here in March; goes well fresh; each-way claims on reappearance. |

Made it 3-3 at Kempton last month; needs to transfer improvement to this different track. |

22/1(+33%) | (2) The Other Mozzie 22/1, Below form and made mistakes when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Punchestown most recently; better over fences but has a bit to find and has stamina concerns. Two 2m wins earlier this year but hasn't seen it out on previous attempts at 2m4f here. |

(15) (33/1 +34%)Issar D'airy |
33/1(+34%) | (15) Issar D'airy 33/1, Needed the run when well beaten in a Premier Handicap Chase over 2m1f at Ascot latest; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground but career best needed. On a handy mark but inconsistent and well beaten on reappearance at Ascot a fortnight ago. |

Il Ridoto landed the corresponding event off 1lb lower 12 months ago and he merits respect, while Panic Attack ended last season with a close-up second over hurdles at Warwick. The nine-year-old, who is two from five over fences, is relatively unexposed and is one to keep on the right side of this term. That being said, Henry de Bromhead has made a fine start to the new season and COMING UP EASY could represent some value. An easy winner of a Listed handicap at Killarney in August, completing a hat-trick in the process, there could be a lot more to come. Others to note include Conyers Hill and Vincenzo.

Sam Thomas is in flying form and VINCENZO, who was a highly progressive novice last season, is taken to make a winning reappearance.

80/1(-100%) | (6) In The Purple 80/1, Green and made mistakes when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow on debut; never threatened but bred to want further than 2m in time. Very weak in market and well beaten on hurdling debut; looks more of a long-term prospect. |

300/1(-140%) | (14) Miss Galiway 300/1, Made mistakes and may not have stayed when held in a novice hurdle at Worcester last time; a modest flat performer yet to convince with stamina for 2m over hurdles. Poor on the Flat and little encouragement so far over hurdles. |

JASMINE D'AIRY made amends for a couple of defeats as favourite when laughing at a subsequent three-time winner in the hands of Ben Sutton at Plumpton. Given time to strengthen further, Harry Derham's mare can pick up where she left off, although Choice Runner was in the process of making an encouraging jumping debut when coming to grief here back in the spring and has had wind surgery during his time off. U S Marshall cost 55,000 pounds after scoring between the flags in Ireland and is also noted.

Plumpton winner JASMINE D'AIRY has the best form and may follow up. Choice Runner may have untapped potential.

(1) (125/1 -346%)Rauzan |
125/1(-346%) | (1) Rauzan 125/1, Disappointing hurdles return when down the field in a 3m handicap hurdle at Listowel last time; effective between 2m and 2m4f, wants a sound surface, and has been in moderate form in both codes. Left Eoin Doyle for £11,000 last month; British debut off what seems pretty demanding mark. |

CARISMATIC SOLDIER had a subsequent scorer immediately behind him when chasing home a couple of previous winners at Warwick and starts off in handicaps on a fair mark, which he can take advantage of for the in-form Olly Murphy team. Smokeringinthedark made a pleasing enough handicap bow at Hexham back in the spring and should be able to build on that. Imperial Merlin's Bangor display was too bad to be true and he may be keeping on when others have cried enough.

Several others are of interest but the two best options may be CARISMATIC SOLDIER and Smokeringinthedark.

Killarney winner in May; not sure this drop in trip against specialist 2-milers will suit. |

(5) (22/1 +0%)Touch Me Not |
22/1(+0%) | (5) Touch Me Not 22/1, From a yard that won this last year; made a bad error and failed to find much when fourth, beaten 15l, in the Maghull Novice Chase (Grade 1) at Aintree latest; has plenty more to find. Second-season chaser for whom ground to suit but looks to have a it to find. |

A cracking contest. With more and more rain falling, DINOBLUE could represent value in receipt of the mares' allowance. She returns to action in search of a four-timer and has an enviable strike rate over fences. She ploughs through attritional ground and is weighted to make a race of it with the favourite Marine Nationale. He is the one to beat having won the Champion Chase at both Cheltenham and Punchestown last season. He is a real 'speed' horse over 2m and, whilst that is the case, heavy ground is a nagging doubt despite his undoubted class. Captain Guinness won this race in 2022 and 2023 so shouldn't be underestimated, while last year's hero, Found A Fifty, is also in the mix.

MARINE NATIONALE is the one to beat although he was below his best on last season's return to action

5/4(+33%) | (3) Supremely West 5/4, Yard won this last year. Ran to best following wind surgery, finishing 5 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle here most recently. This is his second run since the operation; effective at 3m on good ground with cut and may have more to offer for his new yard. Holds Long Draw on recent meeting here. Third of 17 over C&D on yard debut, finishing well from off the pace off 1lb lower. |

(2) (4/1 +11%)Long Draw |
4/1(+11%) | (2) Long Draw 4/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 8l, in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 3m, acts on good ground and stays further; remains progressive and stiff track a plus. Unraced on worse than good to soft in h'caps; otherwise set for another prominent finish. |

11/2(+0%) | (6) Kikijo 11/2, Outpaced but ran to form up in trip when beaten 3l off 119 over 3m1f at Aintree last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, acts on soft and good ground; unexposed as a stayer and may have more to offer. Greater stamina test today should be a big help to this lightly raced 5yo; one to note. |

(7) (13/2 +35%)Prince Zaltar |
13/2(+35%) | (7) Prince Zaltar 13/2, Yard won this last year. Won by 2 1/2l off 114 over 2m6f at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start. Effective around 2 1/2m; well treated on Irish form and may have more to offer for his new yard but slight stamina concerns here. Creditable 11l sixth of 17 from out of handicap over C&D (7lb claimer); 2lb lower today. |

(1) (11/1 -38%)Gowel Road |
11/1(-38%) | (1) Gowel Road 11/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle here most recently. 25/1(-178%) | (4) Londonofficecallin 25/1, Below form when upped in grade, possibly finding the ground a bit testing, finishing down the field in a 12f handicap at Leopardstown last time. Progressive over hurdles as trip increases; should stay further and holds leading claims Last two results (Flat) are a concern but runners from this stable demand great respect. |

(10) (150/1 -200%)Vee Dancer |
150/1(-200%) | (10) Vee Dancer 150/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a 1m6f handicap at Southwell latest. Returning from a long layoff and needs to prove ability remains. Off 321 days; caution looks advisable, particularly from 8lb out of the handicap. |

This could be a fine opportunity for SUPREMELY WEST, who shaped with real promise on his seasonal return/first run following wind surgery over C&D last month. Third and over two lengths ahead of the reopposing Long Draw (fourth), it's quite possible that he could take a considerable step forward. Kikijo has few miles on the clock and any improvement on his recent Aintree fourth would bring him firmly into the reckoning.

Supremely West is set to run well. KIKIJO (nap) is far less exposed and a thorough test of stamina should see him in the best light.

22/1(-120%) | (5) Irisante 22/1, Up in trip, may not have stayed, and found the ground too fast when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Worcester last time; trainer in form; effective at 2m, may not get further, best with some cut. 0-13 Flat/jumps; only sixth on handicap debut; will need a personal best by some way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (22/1 +12%)Just Go For It |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Just Go For It 22/1, Below form and didn't stay when comfortably held by less exposed rivals in a 3m handicap hurdle at Taunton last time; effective around 2m4f, acts on good to soft ground, with a bit to find. Veteran mare; well handicapped and revels in the mud but may need the run after a layoff. |

Hillsin has to be respected following his Exeter success last month, but a 3lb rise demands more from him. With that in mind, preference is for DRAYTON FLYER, who has shown promise in all three starts to date and a mark of 104 should be workable on his handicap debut. Thank You Blue edges out Tarbuck to be best of the rest.

The percentage call is DRAYTON FLYER who shaped nicely in two runs over hurdles last term and has potential, unlike most of his rivals.

66/1(+34%) | (6) Parish Quiz 66/1, Below bumper level when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Hexham last time; effective around 2m, acts on soft ground and this drop in trip may suit. Won a point in March 2024 but he's yet to pose a serious threat under rules. |

Patrick Mullins is an interesting booking for Cueros, who made the best possible start to life with Harry Derham on his hurdling debut at Newcastle. That form may not amount to much, though, whereas FRESH PERSPECTIVE took in a Listed assignment in between landing a Uttoxeter bumper and making a winning timber bow at Fontwell. He seems quite a nice prospect for Jamie Snowden. Minstrel Knight brings smart Flat handicap form to the table, while Lirone Du Seuil has joined Dan Skelton since a Fontainebleau second back in February.

Jamie Snowden has a highly likeable prospect on his hands in FRESH PERSPECTIVE who is taken to make it 2-2 over hurdles.

125/1(+0%) | (9) Moudan 125/1, Unseated in a beginners' chase over 2m at Naas last time; trainer in form; effective at 2m with cut but needs a drop in grade over fences. Hampered and unseated rider at first on recent chase debut at Naas; stiff task. |

KOPEK DES BORDES makes his eagerly-awaited debut over fences and is hard to get away from. He is a dual Grade 1 winner over flights, including in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at last season's Cheltenham Festival, and is the antepost favourite for the Arkle in March following positive updates on his schooling over fences. The rain will be music to Ballybow's ears and he could make his presence felt on his first crack at the larger obstacles. He was successful at Grade 3 level over the smaller obstacles. Jump Allen has acquitted himself well over timber and is proven over further, while lightly-raced Lovely Hurling and the returning Harvard Guy add more spice to the mix.

All eyes will be on KOPEK DES BORDES on chasing debut, although he'll have to give his fences more respect than he did his hurdles

(3) (16/5 +4%)Jurancon |
16/5(+4%) | (3) Jurancon 16/5, Improved to land a handicap by 2½l off 127 over 2m at Newbury last time. Returning from a long layoff and looks a contender if stamina holds up which is a concern. Never finished outside first two and won handicap debut last time; shortlisted on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 +0%)Royal Infantry |
7/2(+0%) | (1) Royal Infantry 7/2, Ran to form when 4l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Chepstow on his most recent start. Effective from 2m to 2½m and showed useful form as a juvenile so could be competitive on return. Third in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow (2m3f) on handicap/seasonal debut; progressive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (18/5 +55%)Kap Boy |
18/5(+55%) | (9) Kap Boy 18/5, Improved when showing a willing attitude to land a handicap by 7l off 109 over 2m4f at Perth last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m and suited by cut in the ground; progressing but this demands more. 11-8 favourite for 7l win at Perth (2m4f, soft) last month on handicap debut; up 9lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/2 +41%)Holloway Queen |
13/2(+41%) | (4) Holloway Queen 13/2, Pulled up in the Sefton Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) over 3m1f at Aintree on her latest start where ground too fast; fair mark on Listed win; not ruled out back on easier ground on return. Grade 2 and Grade 1 races did not work out; early in career and may yet come good again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (13/2 +68%)De Temps En Temps |
13/2(+68%) | (7) De Temps En Temps 13/2, All but fell two out yet rallied bravely to win a novice hurdle here over 2m4f by a neck last time. Effective from 2m to 3m and acts on soft and good ground; in good form since moving from Ireland and mark looks lenient; every chance. Helped set pace under F Keighley to win last two starts, in 2m4f novice here on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (17/2 +61%)Royal Rambler |
17/2(+61%) | (5) Royal Rambler 17/2, Improved on recent form when stepped up in trip, just failing to reel in a rival receiving weight when second, beaten 3/4l in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. Has a bit to find. Had plenty to learn in progressive first campaign and should retain plenty of potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (11/1 +21%)C'est Different |
11/1(+21%) | (13) C'est Different 11/1, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 2l off 92 over 2m3f at Chepstow last time. Returning from a long layoff and though progressive has a bit to find. 2-2 in handicaps (February); up 20lb but it's hard to say just how good he might become. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (20/1 +60%)Littlefoot |
20/1(+60%) | (6) Littlefoot 20/1, Ran to form when beaten 1½l off 120 over 2m at Tipperary last time. Effective from 2m to 2¾m and improving, fairly treated on his best Irish form so not dismissed at a big price. 2m7f maiden winner; best form on last two starts, so needs some respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (22/1 -175%)Hamsiyann |
22/1(-175%) | (8) Hamsiyann 22/1, Won this race last year. May have found the ground a bit testing when finishing down the field in a 12f handicap at Galway most recently; best watched in current form. Comfortable winner of this race (good) last year off 10lb lower; grim results since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (25/1 -79%)Give Him A Chance |
25/1(-79%) | (12) Give Him A Chance 25/1, Scored by a head off 98 over 2m4f at Killarney two starts ago. Ran to form appreciating a stiff test when third, beaten 6l off 105 last time. Off a short break; effective around 2¼m but ideally wants 2½m; progressive on sound surface and can pose a threat. Heading the right way in Ireland but with more to prove if he's back on soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (33/1 -65%)Lavender Hill Mob |
33/1(-65%) | (10) Lavender Hill Mob 33/1, Ran to form when 5½l third in the Rose Bowl Stakes (Listed) over 2m at Newmarket on his latest start. Off a short break and useful flat performer has big stamian worries up in trip. 1-6 over hurdles last season and rather went the wrong way; doing well on the Flat though. |

Jurancon was a promising novice last season and won impressively on his handicap debut at Newbury in March. David Pipe's gelding merits plenty of respect, but his lack of a recent run just gives the edge to FRENCH SHIP. The latter had plenty in hand when winning a similar event over 2m4f here last month and even an 8lb rise may still underestimate him. Royal Infantry is another with strong claims after his third at Chepstow, while Kap Boy and last year's winner Hamsiyann are also noted.

It is hard to say who brings the most potential but it might be ROYAL RAMBLER. Second choice is Kap Boy.

(5) (4/6 +64%)Rathkenny |
4/6(+64%) | (5) Rathkenny 4/6, Built on debut promise to win a maiden at Loughanmore over 3m by 3l last time; of strong interest making rules debut. Showed promise in Irish points, winning one in April; might be the answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 -38%)Laraktar |
11/4(-38%) | (3) Laraktar 11/4, 88,000 euros Karaktar gelding; half-brother to Feuille De Lune, a fair performer at 25f; makes debut for a good yard and merits respect. 88,000euros 3yo; stable has a 20% strike-rate in this sphere and won this race in 2021. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/1 -150%)Eastern Fire |
5/1(-150%) | (2) Eastern Fire 5/1, 18,000 euros Poet's Word gelding; half-brother to Darling Daughter, a top-class performer over 16f; represents a top stable and commands respect on debut. Out of a bumper and useful 2m-3m hurdle winner; top yard has a 20% strike-rate bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (10/1 +44%)Crystal Force |
10/1(+44%) | (1) Crystal Force 10/1, Made a modest debut when finishing 20l fourth in a bumper at Wetherby on his first outing; likely to prefer further than 2m and needs to show improvement. Beaten 20l when fourth of six at Wetherby on debut; improvement required. |

RATHKENNY ran well on both starts between the flags and was successful on the most recent of those occasions in April. The five-year-old makes his Rules debut here and could be up making it a victorious one. Any market support for Eastern Fire or Laraktar would have to be noted, while Maximum Benefit is the pick of those with bumper experience.

Preference is for RATHKENNY who has already shown a fair level of ability in points. Eastern Fire and Laraktar are feared.

13/8(+73%) | (6) Cerendipity 13/8, Ran to form when second beaten 4l in a handicap chase at Stratford last time; effective around 2m4f and handles good to soft ground; should improve for that pleasing return. Reappeared with solid second at Stratford and he may be able to build on that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (15/8 +53%)Issam |
15/8(+53%) | (2) Issam 15/8, Travelled well but had too much to do down in trip, slow late jumps proved costly when beaten a neck off 130 over 1m7f at Sandown last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts well on soft; chance if ready. Promising start to chase career early this year and reappears with yard among the winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/2 +0%)Primoz |
11/2(+0%) | (3) Primoz 11/2, Made mistakes but ran to form when 8l third in a handicap chase over 1m7f here last time; cheekpieces on for the first time; effective at 2m and handles soft and good ground; has more to offer. Went close at Kelso on reappearance; only third of four here since but not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/1 -56%)Heltenham |
7/1(-56%) | (1) Heltenham 7/1, Took a step back in the right direction when 12l third in a handicap chase at Fontwell last time; effective around 2m4f and handles good to soft and good ground; could progress again. Step back in right direction at Fontwell and could be a contender now back down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 +25%)Geryville |
12/1(+25%) | (8) Geryville 12/1, Outpaced, needed the run, and may have found the ground too quick when well held in a handicap chase here last time; effective 2m4f-3m and suited by some cut; inconsistent but should improve for reappearance. Inconsistent but this C&D brings out the best in him and he's capable of a bold show. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (28/1 -12%)William Of York |
28/1(-12%) | (7) William Of York 28/1, Finished lame when pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Carlisle last time; effective around 2m4f and acts on heavy and soft ground; absence to overcome with cheekpieces left off this time. Won three in a row in the first part of 2024 but pulled up on his sole start since. |

CERENDIPITY may have bumped into a smart one when chasing home Be Aware at Stratford and meets nothing with that potential here. The eight-year-old generally performs well at this venue and that recent run gives him an edge over Issam, who came within a neck of making it two from two over fences at Sandown back in February. Primoz was disappointing here last month, but there will be plenty who keep faith with him. Heltenham is slipping back down the handicap, while Geryville beat the selection over C&D towards the beginning of the year.

Five-time hurdle winner ISSAM (nap) looked even better when switched to fences early this year and should have more to offer.

(4) (6/4 +0%)Lemmy Caution |
6/4(+0%) | (4) Lemmy Caution 6/4, Stable won this race last year. Produced a very promising debut when winning a maiden over 3m at Monksgrange by 8l and still has a bit to find. Purchased for 250,000GBP following 8l point-to-point debut success; of obvious interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/4 +0%)Jet To Monte Carlo |
7/4(+0%) | (2) Jet To Monte Carlo 7/4, Made a highly promising start when winning by 14l in a maiden over 3m at Ballynoe on debut. Sets the standard here on race times. Purchased for 200,000GBP following 14l point-to-point success; one of the key players.. |

(12) (9/1 +0%)Ziso |
9/1(+0%) | (12) Ziso 9/1, Yard won this last year; Yeats filly; half-sister to Golden Nugget, moderate at 16f. Dam was fair at 6f and she hails from a top stable. Half-sister to 5f/6f winner Little Muddy; Lemmy Caution is potentially stable first-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/1 +0%)Le Roi Du Livet |
11/1(+0%) | (3) Le Roi Du Livet 11/1, Improved from his debut when just denied by a nose in a Ladies bumper at Tramore. Effective at 2m and continues to progress, likely to remain competitive. Built on moderate debut to go down by a nose at Tramore last time; going the right way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 +0%)Leonard Vallis |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Leonard Vallis 12/1, Ran an excellent race on hurdle debut when second, beaten 1 1/2l, in a maiden at Gowran Park. The clear pick on overall form. Entitled to improve over positive career debut over hurdles when 2nd; could get involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (12/1 +0%)Springs Steen |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Springs Steen 12/1, £24,000 Wings Of Eagles gelding; half-brother to Minella Drama, a high-class performer from 20f to 22f. Represents a top stable. Half-brother to Minella Drama and Ballycashin; worth a market check but others more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +0%)Mossy Way |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Mossy Way 14/1, Had too much to do when fourth, beaten 6 1/4l, in a bumper at Thurles. Returns from a lengthy absence and should appreciate this stiffer track. 2nd on bumper debut and took 4th in third bumper start last time; may find a few too good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (33/1 +0%)Oh My Word |
33/1(+0%) | (7) Oh My Word 33/1, Poet's Word gelding; half-brother to Wat Ua Doin, a useful performer over 21f. Dam was moderate at 16f. Half-brother to Wat Ua Doin; dam 2m/2m2f hurdle winner; unlikely to make immediate impact. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (50/1 +0%)Suresuresure |
50/1(+0%) | (10) Suresuresure 50/1, Showed little when well beaten in a 4yo bumper over 2m1f at Ballinrobe on his only start. Hood fitted for the first time and has everything to prove. Nice pedigree, but tailed off on debut at Ballinrobe and this looks tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (66/1 +0%)Dorie Miller |
66/1(+0%) | (1) Dorie Miller 66/1, Showed greenness on debut when well beaten in a 4yo bumper over 2m1f at Punchestown. Drops in grade which should help, though he still has plenty to prove. Well beaten in Punchestown bumper debut and needs to leave that run behind to get involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (66/1 +0%)Royal Gladiator |
66/1(+0%) | (8) Royal Gladiator 66/1, Unseated rider in a maiden over 3m at Loughanmore last time. Needs to show much more in this contest. Unseated in first point and fourth next time; that form shouldn't be good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (80/1 +0%)Switched On |
80/1(+0%) | (11) Switched On 80/1, Sea The Moon gelding; dam was a high-class performer at 12f. Half-brother to Swedish 5f-1m winner Amon Ra; likely to struggle on debut. |

LEMMY CAUTION's homework has been good according to a recent stable tour and this point-to-point winner is fancied to make a successful transition to the racecourse for Gordon Elliott. Jet To Monte Carlo looks a significant threat as he cruised to victory by a wide margin in a Ballynoe point-to-point in March before switching to Emmet Mullins' yard. Leonard Vallis attracted support ahead of his debut in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last month and there was promise in his runner-up finish. Henry de Bromhead's newcomer Springs Steen is well worth a market check, while Le Roi Du Livet was narrowly denied in a bumper at Tramore last month.

This could be a shootout between expensive point purchases LEMMY CAUTION and Jet To Monte Carlo, with the vote given to the former

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (5/1 +0%)Eremenko |
5/1(+0%) | (5) Eremenko 5/1, Travelled well on a promising bumper debut, winning by 4 1/2l in a 4yo bumper at Southwell; trainer in form. Effective at 2m on good ground; bumper form franked and more to come over hurdles. Looked useful prospect when readily justifying favouritism at Southwell; obvious candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/2 +0%)Divine Diva |
11/2(+0%) | (3) Divine Diva 11/2, Milan filly from a top yard. Point winner who should make her presence felt on rules debut. Beat a subsequent winner in an Irish point and has since joined a top stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (6/1 +63%)Amina |
6/1(+63%) | (1) Amina 6/1, Improved again when second, beaten 1 1/4l in a mares' bumper at Limerick last time; effective at 2m on good ground and has shown enough to win a bumper, with the form working out well. Placed all three starts; improved when second at Limerick; should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/2 +28%)Edith Pelham |
13/2(+28%) | (4) Edith Pelham 13/2, Made a very promising debut when winning a mares' bumper at Aintree over 2m1f by a short head last time; effective at 2m on good to soft ground, and that form looks strong. Stiff track should suit. Unbeaten in point and bumper, digging deep when winning at Aintree; has lots of potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (9/1 +64%)Kittys Glance |
9/1(+64%) | (10) Kittys Glance 9/1, Yard has won two of the last ten runnings of this race; made a promising bumper debut when third, beaten 4 1/4l in a mares' bumper at Huntingdon. Effective at 2m; should improve for a stiffer track but needs to step up in grade. Well-backed favourite at Huntingdon in March and shaped nicely in third; promising. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (14/1 -87%)Rock Sensation |
14/1(-87%) | (14) Rock Sensation 14/1, Raced wide but travelled strongly and did it readily when winning an amateurs' bumper at Southwell by 2l last time; effective at 2m and looks to be progressing. Settled better and improved a chunk when winning at Southwell in March; must be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (18/1 -13%)Jo's Secret |
18/1(-13%) | (8) Jo's Secret 18/1, Below form up in grade when well beaten in a mares' bumper over 2m4f at Fairyhouse last time; had been in good form prior. Effective at 2m on good ground but has plenty to find. Only seventh of 16 at Fairyhouse in April; rare British runner for her yard in this sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (22/1 -10%)Masked Mistress |
22/1(-10%) | (11) Masked Mistress 22/1, A bit free but quickened clear cosily when winning a bumper at Plumpton over 2m2f by 1 1/4l last time; off a short break. Effective at 2m on good ground and improving, with that summer form franked. Workmanlike winner at Uttoxeter and Plumpton; faces much stronger opposition here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(16) (22/1 -10%)Shotgun Shirley |
22/1(-10%) | (16) Shotgun Shirley 22/1, Improved when winning an amateurs' bumper at Uttoxeter by 3/4l last time; effective at 2m on good to soft and good ground. In good form but has plenty to find up in grade. Improved for the fitting of a hood when winning at Uttoxeter; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (33/1 -106%)Midnight Musical |
33/1(-106%) | (12) Midnight Musical 33/1, Very promising debut when second, beaten 3/4l in a mares' bumper over 2m1f at Galway last time; returning from a break. Effective at 2m on good ground; strong debut form and a likely improver. Second in a point and a bumper, the latter at the Galway festival; merits consideration. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (33/1 -32%)Pollyanna's Dream |
33/1(-32%) | (13) Pollyanna's Dream 33/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 2l in a mares' bumper at Ludlow last time; returning from a long layoff. Effective at 2m; latest form has been franked and she may have a little more to offer. Placed at Wincanton and Ludlow; will need a jolt of improvement to get off the mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(15) (80/1 -21%)Shinealight |
80/1(-21%) | (15) Shinealight 80/1, Improved when winning a maiden at Inchydoney over 3m by 1l last time; needs to show more at this level. Finished alone in an Irish point, then changed hands for 30,000euros; hard to assess. |

CELESTIAL TUNE has improved with every start and she got off the mark in impressive fashion at Listowel in September. The daughter of Maxios may have more progression left to come and she is arguably the one to beat. Divine Diva won well on her only start between the flags and Dan Skelton's filly should not be underestimated on her Rules debut. Others who make the shortlist are Eremenko, Rock Sensation and Amina.

Irish stables have won the last two runnings and CELESTIAL TUNE can extend the sequence. Southwell winner Eremenko is feared most.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
