|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

66/1(-100%) | (17) Anodandawink 66/1, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden over 3m at Monksgrange; has plenty to do. Points' second appears the lesser likely of the McManus pair on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (250/1 +0%)Come On Mccaff |
250/1(+0%) | (5) Come On Mccaff 250/1, Too green to show anything when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown on debut; has everything to prove. Behind throughout on last month's Punchestown debut; hood now tried. |

CLASSICAL CREEK has smart form and represents a yard that targets this meeting. A 10-length winner of a point-to-point and successful on his bumper debut, he also finished third in a Listed bumper here last December. He hasn't raced since and was withdrawn lame from Graded races in February and April, but will be ready for his reappearance. Fillyoureye, a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Colreevy, won a bumper in the spring but although open to progression over jumps, that Kilbeggan form isn't outstanding and he might struggle to beat the selection. The Store Boy has shown ability, while Agameoftwohalves is out of a triple bumper winner.

Gordon Elliott has won this in three of the last four years and could hold the ace here with CLASSICAL CREEK

10/1(+9%) | (11) Themanintheboots 10/1, Returned to form when beaten a neck off 100 over 3m at Ayr last time. Best at 3m and acts on soft ground but prefers a sound surface. Fairly treated if building on his recent revival. Struggled since back-to-back wins in 2023 but better at Ayr last time; can't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (12/1 +0%)Clonbury Bridge |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Clonbury Bridge 12/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off 110 over 3m at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start and ran to form when sixth, beaten 11l off 115 last time. Trainer in form. 5/1(+64%) | (14) Midleton Rare 5/1, Won by 2l off 85 over 2m3f at Limerick on his penultimate start. May not have stayed when 16th, beaten 32l off 93 last time. Effective at 2 1/2m with cut and remains well treated on bumper form. Made immediate impact for new yard in tongue-tie, but tailed off last time; hard to trust. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (3/1 -20%)Watching The Clock |
3/1(-20%) | (9) Watching The Clock 3/1, Won by 3 1/2l off 93 over 2m at Gowran Park on her penultimate start. Had too much to do when fourth, beaten 4 1/2l off 103 last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on good and soft ground. Progressive and may improve again now back up in trip. Won nicely at Gowran on 2nd h'cap start; promise in recent fourth but jumping let her down. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (25/1 +0%)The Little Yank |
25/1(+0%) | (13) The Little Yank 25/1, Not best placed and a bit below form when fourth, beaten 10l, in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Sligo last time. Usually held up. Effective at 3m and wants decent ground. Well treated on old form over hurdles and fences but conditions may be a concern. Experienced 10yo is 2lb below last winning mark and ran creditably on penultimate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (5/1 +58%)Mon Sheriffe |
5/1(+58%) | (12) Mon Sheriffe 5/1, Had every chance and ran to form when fourth, beaten 14l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Cork last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m. In fair form but the mark demands more. Too keen around here over 2m5f and a distant fourth at Cork over 18.5f last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (28/1 -155%)Killinure Lass |
28/1(-155%) | (2) Killinure Lass 28/1, Won by 1 1/4l off 105 at Tramore on her penultimate start and ran to form when fourth, beaten 7l off 110 last time. Trainer in form and effective from 2m to 2 3/4m. In fair form over hurdles and fences and goes well at Tramore. On a career high mark following fifth hurdles win on penultimate; some better handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (7/1 +7%)Club Manager |
7/1(+7%) | (4) Club Manager 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 107 over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and acts on any ground. Generally consistent. Sole success over hurdles came off 5lb lower but ran well last time when 2nd; place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (80/1 -264%)Arch Enemy |
80/1(-264%) | (6) Arch Enemy 80/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m and worth a try at 2 1/2m. Has been out of form in both codes recently. Still 8lb above mark for sole hurdles win; out of form on Flat and fell latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (10/1 -11%)Bossing It |
10/1(-11%) | (10) Bossing It 10/1, All but fell as the race was developing but still ran to form when third, beaten 9 1/2l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Galway last time. Returns from a short break. Effective from 2m to 2m5f. Maiden hurdle winner has steadily improved in 3 h'cap runs but needs more to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (16/1 +27%)Must Meet Cecil |
16/1(+27%) | (8) Must Meet Cecil 16/1, Kicked on far too soon and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m and prefers decent ground. On a good mark based on claiming form but conditions are a concern. Front-runner may struggle at this distance on softer conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (10/1 -11%)Its Not Over Yet |
10/1(-11%) | (5) Its Not Over Yet 10/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 10l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Punchestown last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Best at around 3m on easy ground and looks fairly treated. Dual-hurdles winner came back to form at Ballinrobe but didn't back it up; soft suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (1) (13/2 0%)Paul's Dream |
13/2(0%) | (1) Paul's Dream 13/2, Landed a handicap by 3 1/2l off 103 over 2m at Fairyhouse on her penultimate start. Travelled well and was closing when falling late in the Oddschecker Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) last time. Progressive at 2m on yielding and good ground and may stay a bit further. Improving mare has bagged two wins and ran well at Cheltenham; soft conditions a question. |

WATCHING THE CLOCK is a progressive four-year-old who should be suited by reverting to this distance. Her initial form was unexciting but having scored on soft ground at Gowran last month, she subsequently finished well for fourth at Punchestown. She can continue to progress and the extra half-mile will help. Similarly, Paul's Dream steps up in trip, having been in contention when falling at the second-last in Cheltenham. She could well improve at this distance, but is unproven on heavy ground. Killinure Lass wasn't disgraced at Thurles when attempting to follow up on her earlier Tramore success and must enter calculations from an unchanged mark.

A lot in with chances, but the tentative nod is given to WATCHING THE CLOCK, who is in the mix with a better round of jumping

1st (1) (17/2 -113%)El Galactico |
17/2(-113%) | (1) El Galactico 17/2, Travelled well and improved for the step up in trip when winning a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter over 2m7f by 3/4l last time; strong form but needs stiff test down in trip. Narrowly beat a respectable rival over nearly 3m at Uttoxeter; looks quick enough for 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (18/1 -80%)Manigod |
18/1(-80%) | (4) Manigod 18/1, Ran to form when second, beaten a length in a conditions race over 1m5f at Argentan last time; returning from a long layoff and needs to improve plenty. 0-8 on the Flat in France but was twice runner-up; had wind op; should make a hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/11 +60%)Fountains Blenhein |
4/11(+60%) | (2) Fountains Blenhein 4/11, Quickened clear easily when the race fell apart on a promising debut, winning a maiden hurdle at Fontwell over 2m3f by 34l last time; effective from 2m to 2m1/2f, acts on good to soft; debut form weak enough but should have more to offer. Withdrawn from a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last Friday after conditions turned miserable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (4/1 -60%)Calvino |
4/1(-60%) | (3) Calvino 4/1, Improved on bumper form when second, beaten a neck in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time; effective from 2m to 2m1f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; should take the beating. Bumper winner; ordinary form when second at Newton Abbot; may strip fitter. |

El Galactico confirmed the promise of his debut second when accounting for an in-form opponent at Uttoxeter and the time he has been given off since will have helped him strengthen further. Fountains Blenhein ran out a bloodless winner at Fontwell but they have to concede 7lb to CALVINO, who was denied by a shock scorer at Newton Abbot and can atone on his second attempt at hurdles. Manigod showed ability on the level in France and has been bought for 40,000 euros.

The race that FOUNTAINS BLENHEIN won at Fontwell rather fell apart but he could do no more than win as he did.

1st (4) (5/1 +9%)Balko D'ange |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Balko D'ange 5/1, Below form up in grade when comfortably held in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Down Royal last time. Effective at 2m, acts on heavy and good ground, and generally consistent. Won off 9lb lower in December; shaped well on seasonal return but disappointed last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/1 -17%)Ragmans Corner |
7/1(-17%) | (1) Ragmans Corner 7/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off a mark of 118 here three starts back and ran to form when fourth beaten 8 1/2l off 125 last time. Effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground, and remains on a good mark based on flat form. Got third hurdles win off 8lb lower over C&D but moderate run off new mark latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (14/1 0%)Luker's Tipple |
14/1(0%) | (7) Luker's Tipple 14/1, Ran to form when second beaten 2 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground, consistent over hurdles though a little frustrating. Beaten at short odds several times inc' at 1-2 at Downpatrick last month; hard to trust. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (40/1 -21%)Petit King |
40/1(-21%) | (11) Petit King 40/1, Pulled up in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Out of form over hurdles and fences for some time. Sole win came two years ago and was PU when last seen at Fairyhouse in April; unlikely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 +8%)Killaney King |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Killaney King 11/2, Improved when stepped up in trip on chase debut, finishing second beaten 5 1/2l in a 2m7f beginners chase at Kilbeggan latest. Hugely progressive and should give a good account once more. Runner-up in last three starts but hasn't looked like he was crying out for this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (6/1 +57%)San Hilario |
6/1(+57%) | (8) San Hilario 6/1, Improved slightly when third beaten 16l in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park on latest start. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m and acts with cut. Progressing in maidens with form franked at Graded level, though needs a bit more to defy this mark. Promise in maidens and not discounted for handicap bow although absence to overcome. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (10/1 +44%)Jazzy Rock |
10/1(+44%) | (13) Jazzy Rock 10/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 5l in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Clonmel last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on yielding ground, and improving as her jumping sharpens; should be winning soon. Modest Flat performer makes handicap hurdle debut following promising maiden runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (22/1 -10%)Kate Knows Best |
22/1(-10%) | (14) Kate Knows Best 22/1, Made mistakes but still ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park last time. In good form previously; effective from 2m to 2m6f and acts on soft and good ground. Sligo maiden winner ran below her best at Gowran latest; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (4/1 +0%)Colonia Victoria |
4/1(+0%) | (6) Colonia Victoria 4/1, Had too much to do when dropped in trip but improved when second beaten 4l in a novice hurdle at Wexford last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts with cut, and should be suited by this stiff track. Unexposed and looks a big player on handicap bow. Cork maiden winner can build on 2nd place at Wexford last time but further may suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (12/1 -71%)Scalpnagoon |
12/1(-71%) | (3) Scalpnagoon 12/1, Pulled up in an auction hurdle over 2m3f at Punchestown last time. Significant jockey booking but still has a bit to find off stiff looking mark. Reeled off maiden and novice wins before disappointing in final two starts last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (11/1 +31%)Party President |
11/1(+31%) | (12) Party President 11/1, Below form back in a handicap, likely found the ground too soft when well beaten in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Killarney last time. Returning from a break and needs a sound surface. Back-to-back h'cap winner in April; return to this trip is positive but ground a question. |

COLONIA VICTORIA is useful and should compete from her 118 rating. Placed fourth at Group 3 level on the Flat in Italy in 2023, she scored over hurdles at Cork back in April, beating a now 119-rated runner-up, while the third also scored subsequently. She conceded weight to the winner at Wexford recently and has form on soft ground. Lambay Island was heavily supported when finishing a close enough third on his return at Thurles. That form is unexciting, but he met race-fit rivals on lively ground and can progress. Scalpnagoon's last two starts were disappointing, but he had previously shown ability and it is encouraging that Jack Kennedy rides on his reappearance.

None of them jump off the page, so although COLONIA VICTORIA looks like further will suit better perhaps she can get away with it here

1st (2) (4/1 -33%)Hot To Go |
4/1(-33%) | (2) Hot To Go 4/1, Too free in front and found nothing when well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time. More to come under rules when settling. Second in an Irish point but disappointing favourite on hurdles debut; better expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (25/1 -56%)Lady Dapple Rose |
25/1(-56%) | (5) Lady Dapple Rose 25/1, Ran to form but was comfortably held in a mares' bumper over 2m1f at Aintree last time. Drops in grade for hurdle debut and not dismissed. Fair form in bumpers (fifth at Aintree last time); no easy task on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2/1 -67%)Maccarellu |
2/1(-67%) | (3) Maccarellu 2/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 2l in a 4yo hurdle over 2m2f at Compiegne latest. Returning from a long layoff, effective over 2-2¼m and suited by plenty of cut; generally consistent in France, yard does well with similar types. Ex-French Flat winner; showed promise in 6 runs over hurdles; interesting on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/11 +60%)Patrimonio |
10/11(+60%) | (4) Patrimonio 10/11, Showed promise when runner-up, beaten a length in a maiden over 3m at Castletown-Geoghegan on only start. Has plenty to find here. £80,000 buy after Irish point second in April; interesting on stable/hurdles debut. |

MACCARELLU recorded some useful form when racing in France and this could prove a suitable opportunity for him to make a winning stable bow. Venetia Williams' gelding has already proved himself in testing conditions and is taken to repel chief threat Patrimonio. The four-year-old fetched 80,000 pounds after finishing second in an Irish point-to-point and market support would be interesting. Hot To Go may fare best of the remainder.

The choice is MACCARELLU, who is more exposed than his rivals, but showed a fair level of form in his six runs over hurdles in France

1st (6) (9/2 -29%)Clear Storm |
9/2(-29%) | (6) Clear Storm 9/2, Ran to form when just outbattled late, beaten 1/2l off 90 over 2m3f at Fontwell last time. Effective from 2–2½m, consistent, and looks capable of winning off her current rating. Flat winner; now 0-9 as a hurdler but she's threatened a few times, including last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (18/1 -29%)Hidor De Bersy |
18/1(-29%) | (5) Hidor De Bersy 18/1, Made too much use of and probably needed the race when fourth beaten 48l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Sandown last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective around 2½m on softish ground but must show ability remains. Potentially on a useful mark but current wellbeing looks too big an issue to ignore. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2/1 +33%)It's A Breeze |
2/1(+33%) | (2) It's A Breeze 2/1, Keen and outpaced but ran to form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time. Effective over 2–2½m and consistent in maidens, though his opening mark asks for more. Modest so far but lightly raced; Patrick Mullins a notable booking for this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (50/1 -25%)Highway Hero |
50/1(-25%) | (9) Highway Hero 50/1, Stepped up in trip and may not have stayed when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Worcester most recently. Returning from a break and still learning. Achieved very little in four runs under rules, including his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (9/2 +0%)Washington Singer |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Washington Singer 9/2, Ran to form when second beaten 9l in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Lingfield last time; the trainer is in form. Returns from a long layoff but effective over 2–2½m and may have more to offer in handicaps. Placed behind some good horses and he's an interesting handicap debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (7/2 +65%)Sain Et Sauf |
7/2(+65%) | (11) Sain Et Sauf 7/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time on her second run after a wind operation. Effective at 2m but has been inconsistent in a short career. Bits of promise but she didn't run any race after wind surgery at Stratford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (7/1 +42%)Dreamweaver |
7/1(+42%) | (7) Dreamweaver 7/1, Outpaced but ran to current form when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Stratford last time. A former useful Flat performer who is effective around 2½m but must prove ability remains after a long break. Multiple Flat winner; 0-8 hurdling; hasn't been on the ball following a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (10/1 -25%)Hilltown |
10/1(-25%) | (10) Hilltown 10/1, Unseated rider in a handicap chase over 3m4f at Stratford last time when looked huge threat; absent for a very lengthy period since. Was getting his act together over fences when last seen in the spring of 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (12/1 -60%)Tropical Speed |
12/1(-60%) | (3) Tropical Speed 12/1, Won by a head off 99 over 2m7f at Uttoxeter three starts back and ran to form when fourth beaten 7¼l off 103 last time. Effective from 2½–3m on sound ground and a consistent type. A longer trip would be preferred but entitled to go well in his current vein of form. |

Paul Nicholls and Patrick Mullins strike up a formidable partnership with IT'S A BREEZE. The 120,000-euro half-brother to classy mare Impervious didn't really build on a decent hurdling debut, but starts handicap life off a mark of just 103 and can make the most of it. Clear Storm has made the frame on her last five completed outings and should be thereabouts again, although most feared is the consistent Tropical Speed, even though he has been on the go all year. Washington Singer is worth a look too.

Plenty of these have questions to answer. WASHINGTON SINGER is thoroughly unexposed ahead of this handicap debut.

1/2(+60%) | (4) Harry Lowes 1/2, Made a very promising start when winning by 1 1/2l in a 3m maiden at Quakerstown on debut; one to consider. Point winner who has joined a top stable for rules career; could play a leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (12/1 -33%)Kapitein Kool |
12/1(-33%) | (1) Kapitein Kool 12/1, Travelled well and built on bumper form when winning a novice hurdle at Newton Abbot by a neck last time. Effective over 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground; debut form looks solid and he may have a bit more to offer. 33-1 win on hurdle debut; carries penalty against interesting opponents but respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/1 -157%)Aguellid |
9/1(-157%) | (2) Aguellid 9/1, Showed promise when 4l fourth in a juvenile hurdle over 2m2f at Auteuil on debut. Returns from a long absence and is effective at around 2m2f. His French form has been franked at Listed level and there should be more to come for top connections. Promising fourth in 3yo hurdle in France in September 2024; now represents JP McManus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 -71%)Kado Sacree |
6/1(-71%) | (5) Kado Sacree 6/1, Promising start when winning by a short head in a 3m maiden at Ballynoe on debut. Trainer in form and holds an outside chance. Changed hands for £48,000 after point win and firmly in calculations on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (6/1 +57%)Sea Warrior |
6/1(+57%) | (8) Sea Warrior 6/1, Probably needed the run when well beaten in a 2m3f maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time. Returning from a long layoff and has a small chance if sharper now. Returns from absence but has shown ability and he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (40/1 -186%)No Panic |
40/1(-186%) | (6) No Panic 40/1, Short of room before flattening out when clear, showing promise when third beaten 14l in a 2m maiden bumper at Hereford on debut. Needs to find more. Third in sole bumper but no match for the first two; may be one for another day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (50/1 +38%)Tractor Jack |
50/1(+38%) | (11) Tractor Jack 50/1, Below form when comfortably held in a novice hurdle here last time. Returning from a long layoff and looks to have it all to do. Tailed off in novice hurdles on all three starts and a transformation is necessary. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (400/1 -1112%)Hannibal Bogan |
400/1(-1112%) | (3) Hannibal Bogan 400/1, Telescope gelding; half-brother to Foxy Act, who was smart over 2m6f. Half-brother to 2m1f-2m5f hurdle winner Foxy Act (RPR 117); may be best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (40/1 +20%)The Italian Fox |
40/1(+20%) | (9) The Italian Fox 40/1, Raced wide and soon outpaced when well beaten in a 2m4f novice hurdle at Wincanton on debut. Returning from a long layoff and has plenty to find. Check the betting but he was well beaten at Wincanton in March on his sole start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (66/1 -230%)Raging Al |
66/1(-230%) | (7) Raging Al 66/1, Went too freely and faded down the field in an 11f handicap at Windsor most recently. Hood applied for the first time and returns from a short break with a bit to find. Fair level of ability on the Flat but inconsistent and 0-6 in that code; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (28/1 -12%)Walk In The West |
28/1(-12%) | (12) Walk In The West 28/1, Keen and still learning when well beaten in a 4yo bumper over 2m at Uttoxeter last time; hard to recommend. Needs to produce a lot more than he managed in his two bumpers; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (250/1 -213%)Tobi Kanobee |
250/1(-213%) | (10) Tobi Kanobee 250/1, Showed limited ability when comfortably held in a 3m maiden at Dawstown last time; faces a stiff task. Tailed off at 33-1 in sole bumper and showed very little in point-to-points subsequently. |

Having come good at the second time of asking between the flags, the JP McManus-owned HARRY LOWES could prove a useful prospect now debuting under Rules. The Walk In The Park gelding has enough speed in his pedigree to cope with an extended 2m and he edges the vote over Kado Sacree. Olly Murphy's charge boasts a similar profile and market support could prove significant. French import Aguellid - also in the McManus colours - is of interest too.

Point winner HARRY LOWES is taken to make a winning start for Dan Skelton. Fellow point winner Kado Sacree may be the main threat.

1st (1) (7/4 -17%)I'll Sort That |
7/4(-17%) | (1) I'll Sort That 7/4, Ran to form when stepping up in trip, though slightly fortunate due to a late faller, when winning a novice hurdle at Galway over 2m5f by 3l last time; effective at 2-2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground; progressing. Maiden hurdle winner was possibly lucky to win at Galway latest but the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/4 +25%)Theflyingking |
9/4(+25%) | (4) Theflyingking 9/4, From a yard successful in the last two editions of this race; fell in a maiden hurdle over 2m7f at Down Royal latest when going well; effective between 2m and 2 3/4m; a consistent bumper winner with more to come over hurdles, possibly at longer distances, though the stable's second string on jockey bookings. Point and bumper winner fell at the last when looked like winner latest; Kennedy deserts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/1 +18%)Whimsy |
7/1(+18%) | (6) Whimsy 7/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 6 1/2l, in the BOYLE Sports Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at Tipperary last time; consistent at around 2m and handles any ground; in career-best form but may be vulnerable to a less exposed rival at this level. Ran well in a Gr.3 when last seen and is solid yardstick but others may bring more talent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 -71%)Ace Brannigan |
6/1(-71%) | (2) Ace Brannigan 6/1, Made a very promising hurdle debut, landing a gamble when suited by a positive ride to win a maiden hurdle at Tipperary by 6 1/2l last time; effective at 2m, debut form has been franked and more improvement is expected; will get further in time. Easily beat Letos (subsequent Brown Lad winner) in latest start; strong chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (150/1 -200%)You Make Me Smile |
150/1(-200%) | (7) You Make Me Smile 150/1, Improved when handling testing ground to win a handicap at Galway over 12f by 4 1/2l last time; effective at 2m on good over hurdles and 12f on the Flat; in good form in both codes but vulnerable in this grade. In good heart with a hurdle and Flat win in recent starts, but out of depth here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5/1 +33%)Ma Jacks Hill |
5/1(+33%) | (3) Ma Jacks Hill 5/1, From a yard that has won the last two runnings of this race; outpaced but ran to form when second, beaten 3l, in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Galway latest; effective at 2-2 1/2m and acts on soft and yielding; may improve further over longer trips. 3l behind I'll Sort That last time off level weights, but the choice of Kennedy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (125/1 -213%)Eye Of A Tiger |
125/1(-213%) | (5) Eye Of A Tiger 125/1, Outclassed when third, beaten 30l, in the Bottlegreen Hurdle (Listed) over 2m1f at Down Royal most recently; effective at 2-2 1/4m on good ground; generally consistent but needs a drop in grade. Tailed off when upped in grade at Down Royal latest and soft conditions not sure to suit. |

ACE BRANNIGAN looked capable in winning last month and remains unexposed. Well related, he finished a close second on point-to-point debut last December and, at Tipperary, defeated last weekend's Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle winner Letos comfortably. He has form on soft ground and is suited by this distance. Capable but keen, I'll Sort That was under pressure when left clear at the last in Galway and although 4lb worse off with Ma Jacks Hill, can confirm the form if he settles better. It is a negative that Theflyingking is his trainer's apparent second string because he is closely matched with I'll Sort That on bumper form and was unlucky last time at Down Royal.

ACE BRANNIGAN (nap) comprehensively beat subsequent Brown Lad winner Letos last time and can defeat main rival I'll Sort That

5/2(+90%) | (6) Jewel Eyed Judy 5/2, Pulled up in a 3m handicap hurdle at Southwell last time; still among the contenders if putting that run behind her. 0-7; ordinary form so far, including in three handicaps; from a top yard; better expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 0%)Jukebox D'eddy |
7/2(0%) | (5) Jukebox D'eddy 7/2, Ran to form when beaten a neck off a mark of 73 over 3m at Warwick last time; arrives in form and should be thereabouts. Runner-up on last three starts, last twice over fences; conditions suit; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/1 +38%)Welcheston Warrier |
10/1(+38%) | (1) Welcheston Warrier 10/1, Travelled well but still showed signs of greenness and found little up in trip on handicap debut when finishing down the field in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Stratford; returning from a long layoff; has a chance. Fair sixth on hurdles debut; modest efforts since; handicap debut; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 +30%)Arctic Saint |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Arctic Saint 7/2, Looked in need of further when comfortably held in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; returning from a long layoff; likely to appreciate a longer trip. Ex-Irish; exposed; fair fifth at Chepstow in February on latest start; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -700%)Mind Hunter |
18/1(-700%) | (7) Mind Hunter 18/1, Ran to form when finishing 5l third in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Exeter most recently; effective between 2m and 3m but inconsistent in both codes. Exposed hurdler; only win was over 2m1f on good: fair form recently; ground a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (5/1 +50%)Goguenard |
5/1(+50%) | (4) Goguenard 5/1, Below form after making too much use of himself when down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Ffos Las most recently; remains progressive. Mudlark; won 3 times in 2024; bit disappointing last term; on a fair mark; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (15/2 +6%)Martalmix'jac |
15/2(+6%) | (3) Martalmix'jac 15/2, Below form when comfortably held in a 3m handicap chase at Hexham last time; good mark on chase form and likes the track. First run over hurdles for three years having won twice over fences; has since had wind op. |

Having posted creditable efforts in defeat at Uttoxeter and Exeter, Mind Hunter is likely to be at the forefront of the market given the question marks surrounding most of his rivals. However, he may prefer quicker ground conditions and could be worth taking on with ARCTIC SAINT. Deborah Cole's inmate finished third in last year's renewal, and the reapplication of cheekpieces could eke out the necessary improvement. Jukebox D'eddy is the pick of the remainder.

These conditions are ideal for GOGUENARD who is taken to win his first race since March 2024. Arctic Saint is his main danger.

13/8(+51%) | (5) Siam Park 13/8, Hampered by a faller late and ran to form before flattening out late back from a break, finishing 10l third in a handicap chase over 2m at Newton Abbot most recent run. Effective from 2m to 2½m, acts on good to soft and good ground, and consistent. 3-5 over fences; stable has hit form since finishing well held on his comeback run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +0%)No Risk With Lou |
3/1(+0%) | (1) No Risk With Lou 3/1, Below form when finishing 10l third in a handicap chase over 2m at Huntingdon on his most recent run. Best at 2m and suited by decent ground, though currently in moderate form. 3-12 over fences and ran a solid enough race when a 10l third at Huntingdon last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 +21%)Synchronist |
11/2(+21%) | (4) Synchronist 11/2, Needed the run on chase debut when 71l third in a handicap chase over 2m at Newton Abbot most recent run. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time, effective at 2m and may get slightly further. Made progress over hurdles last season; tailed off on chase debut; now tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 -40%)Bond Broker |
7/2(-40%) | (2) Bond Broker 7/2, Keen and went clear, doing too much too soon when second beaten 15l in a handicap chase over 2m at Newton Abbot latest. Likes to make the running, effective over 2m on good ground, and may improve when settling in front. Runner-up in both his chases and the winners are improving; should have every chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (8/1 -60%)Alto Alto |
8/1(-60%) | (3) Alto Alto 8/1, Probably did not stay when fourth beaten 9l in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Fontwell latest. Trainer in form, returning from a long layoff, and a likely threat at favoured venue. Knows his way around here and should run well, though drying ground would be a negative. |

Bond Broker is perhaps flattered by his form figures because although he has finished second on all three starts since completing a hat-trick, he has been soundly beaten on each occasion. He still warrants consideration but of more interest is SIAM PARK, who may have needed the run when fading into third at Newton Abbot and is expected to see his race out a lot better. No Risk With Lou showed more when dropped to this level at Huntingdon, while Alto Alto always commands attention at this circuit.

None of the five can be dismissed. BOND BROKER has bumped into improving types in both his chases.

1st (5) (2/5 +20%)Lulamba |
2/5(+20%) | (5) Lulamba 2/5, Travelled strongly and won readily when landing the Champion Four Year Old Hurdle (Grade 1) at Punchestown over 2m by 4l last time. With the trainer in form, he looks the pick on overall form with promise of more to come over fences. 4yo Grade 1 hurdle winner who is a very exciting prospect for novice chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/1 +42%)Fingle Bridge |
7/1(+42%) | (1) Fingle Bridge 7/1, Progressed over hurdles when winning the trustatrader.com Novices' Hurdle (Listed) here by 2l last time. Returns from a long layoff and has plenty to find on this occasion. Form of Listed novice hurdle win here in February has been strongly boosted; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (15/2 -88%)Salver |
15/2(-88%) | (3) Salver 15/2, Ran to his best when second, beaten a head, in the Select Hurdle (Grade 2) over 2m6f at Sandown last time. Very useful hurdler; strong claims if rain arrives on chase debut. Has the second-best hurdle form in this field and has reportedly schooled well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (6/1 +50%)Tripoli Flyer |
6/1(+50%) | (4) Tripoli Flyer 6/1, Unseated in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Perth last time. A classy novice hurdler who is effective at 2m and handles soft and good to soft ground. More to come as his jumping improves. Could still have a bright future over fences but he needs a clear round and a career-best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (125/1 -89%)Largy Belter |
125/1(-89%) | (2) Largy Belter 125/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when well held on debut in a beginners' chase over 2m at Uttoxeter last time. Irish bumper form has been franked and he may improve, likely over further in time. Just two runs under rules and was tailed off on last month's chase/stable debut. |

Having maintained his unbeaten record over hurdles in a Listed event here in February, Fingle Bridge merits plenty of respect on his opening bid over the larger obstacles. He boasts all the attributes to excel in this discipline and isn't taken lightly, but Grade 1 winner LULAMBA will prove a tough nut to crack. Nicky Henderson's Triumph Hurdle runner-up is an exciting prospect for novice chasing and the sky looks the limit. Salver and Tripoli Flyer add further spice to the mix.

4yo Grade 1 hurdle winner LULAMBA has star potential and can make a winning chase debut. Salver is second choice.

4/1(+27%) | (3) Manganese 4/1, Promising effort when a length winner in a juvenile bumper over 12f at Vittel on debut; returns from a break and appeals on balance of form. A one length winner of a 1m4f French bumper on good to soft in July. |

1/4(-50%) | (5) Trad Jazz 1/4, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 3l, in the Height Of Fashion Stakes (Listed) over 10f at Goodwood latest; yard does well with similar types; likely type on rules debut. Talented Flat performer after just four races; this ground is a complete unknown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (33/1 +18%)Emily Rebecca |
33/1(+18%) | (2) Emily Rebecca 33/1, Modest debut when comfortably held in a mares' hurdle at Hereford last time; multiple Flat winner with all to prove over hurdles. Left Richard Hannon for 2,000gns; didn't show much at all last week at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (20/1 +0%)Cantalice |
20/1(+0%) | (1) Cantalice 20/1, Perhaps not suited by the ground when beaten 9l in a handicap over 1m6f at Redcar last time; has plenty to find switched to hurdling. Minor Flat form in four races (1m3f-1m6f) for Marco Botti and was sold on for 3,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (40/1 +20%)Rosso Levanto |
40/1(+20%) | (4) Rosso Levanto 40/1, Unseated in a juvenile hurdle at Ludlow last time; trainer in form but poor on the Flat and with much to prove over hurdles. Limited Flat maiden who was 50-1 and tailed off when unseating at Ludlow 11 days ago. |

Manganese ran out a ready winner on her debut in France and it will be interesting to see if she attracts support in the market on her UK/stable bow. However, TRAD JAZZ was a decent sort on the level during the spring and she could have too much toe for these rivals. James Owen's filly was last seen finishing a respectable fourth in a Listed event at Goodwood and holds obvious claims. Emily Rebecca may fare best of the remainder.

Manganese commands respect but TRAD JAZZ should be taking care of these, provided she handles conditions.

10/3(+5%) | (5) Jetara 10/3, Ran to form when beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap over 2m at Naas last time. A consistent performer who should be competitive now dropping in grade though will want stiff test at the trip. Strong stayer; disappointed in this last season but entitled to go well at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 +0%)Maxxum |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Maxxum 8/1, Won the Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Hurdle (Grade 2) at Fairyhouse by 3/4l last time, running to his best when benefitting from an easy lead. The yard has taken three of the last ten renewals, and he looks a major threat with easy lead possible. Every chance on ratings but well held in this event last year on seasonal return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -18%)Grandero Bello |
33/1(-18%) | (4) Grandero Bello 33/1, Pulled up in the Pat Taaffe Handicap Chase (Listed) over 3m at Punchestown last time and needs to find plenty more to feature here. Didn't handle ground at Punchestown festival; starts off back over hurdles with plenty on. |

Gordon Elliott's THE YELLOW CLAY is two from two over hurdles at this venue and his proven ability on testing ground will be a real asset to him. Although he would prefer a sounder surface, he powered clear on heavy ground to land a Grade 3 at this festival last year. Jetara is race-fit from the Flat and has a couple of placed efforts in Grade 1 company at Aintree and Punchestown to call upon. She has the assistance of Paul Townend and is a big player. Elliott's Maxxum is only rated 3lb inferior to The Yellow Clay and is a winner at Grade 2 level over flights around here. He is more than capable of a big run from the front.

Denied a recent comeback run at Down Royal due to a skin allergy, THE YELLOW CLAY looks the one to beat

Three-time winner but others might be better handicapped; tenth when last tried a visor. |

2nd (3) (16/1 -33%)Stream Of Stars |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Stream Of Stars 16/1, Ran to form but had too much to do in a race dominated from the front when beaten 2 1/4l off 126 over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time; progressive. Consistent handicapper who could be dangerous with James Turner now taking away 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 -29%)Listentoyourheart |
9/2(-29%) | (4) Listentoyourheart 9/2, Needed the run when fourth, beaten 16l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Chepstow last time; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. Listed winner; yet to shine in handicaps but her Chepstow run was encouraging. |

4th (10) (18/5 +10%)Gold For Alec |
18/5(+10%) | (10) Gold For Alec 18/5, Outpaced and lacking the speed of the winner but improved back from a break when 5l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Cheltenham most recently; likely to get further than 2m over hurdles. Market mover when a keeping-on third on his comeback run at Cheltenham; same mark. |

5th (6) (7/2 +50%)Goblet Of Fire |
7/2(+50%) | (6) Goblet Of Fire 7/2, Travelled strongly to record a career best back on the Flat, landing a handicap by a head off 80 over 2m1f at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 2m on good ground; consistent, though the handicapper may have his measure. Several good runs to his name in competitive handicaps and recently won on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 +40%)Sign Again |
12/1(+40%) | (5) Sign Again 12/1, Needed the run after a wind operation, running well to a point before finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Cheltenham most recently; now having his second run after the procedure; effective at 2 1/2m on decent ground and could build on reappearance. Lightly raced dual novice winner; returned in a deep handicap at Cheltenham last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (12/1 +14%)Yellow Star |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Yellow Star 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 10l in a handicap over 2m at Newbury last time; had been in good form prior to that effort. Fit off the Flat and had a chance when falling three out at Sandown on final jumps run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/1 -33%)Geezer Rockstar |
10/1(-33%) | (9) Geezer Rockstar 10/1, Well backed but not clear run when beaten a head off 113 over 2m3f at Chepstow last time; second run after wind operation and looks as though he needs further. Ascot maiden winner; presumably revived by wind surgery when going close at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (13/2 -63%)Nardaran |
13/2(-63%) | (2) Nardaran 13/2, Did it readily, improving again when outstaying the runner-up up the hill to land a handicap by 2 1/2l off 123 over 2m at Sandown last time; effective at 2m, acts on good to soft and good to firm; progressive. 2-2 after wind op; carries a penalty but he's an improving 4yo who should stay this far. |

Wind surgery appears to have been the making of Nardaran because he returned with a facile success here before following up at Sandown. The extra half-mile asks a sterner question of him, as does his penalty, so the vote goes to LISTENTOYOURHEART, who has kept good company since winning a Listed mares' novices' hurdle and kept on for fourth in the Welsh Champion Hurdle. Goblet Of Fire is still fairly treated in this sphere and has to be taken seriously.

Plenty with chances but GOBLET OF FIRE (nap) is a likeably consistent gelding under both codes and Plumpton should suit his style.

4/5(+51%) | (5) Supreme Malinas 4/5, Ran to form when beaten 10l in a Listed Mares' NH Flat Race over 2m at Sandown last time; returning from a long layoff but looks a potential threat. Useful bumper performer who has leading claims if transferring that ability to hurdles.. |

2nd (1) (11/10 -21%)A Path To Ronda |
11/10(-21%) | (1) A Path To Ronda 11/10, Went clear with ease for a highly promising debut when winning a maiden hurdle at Stratford over 2m6f by 5 1/2l last time; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground; strong bumper form suggests she could defy the penalty. Well-bred mare who got straight off the mark over hurdles last month; strong claims.. |

3rd (6) (14/1 -180%)Merely A Detail |
14/1(-180%) | (6) Merely A Detail 14/1, Had too much to do back from a break but did best of those held up when 3l third in a novice hurdle over 2m at Worcester last time; tongue-tie on for the first time; effective at 2m on good ground; bumper winner's hurdle debut has been franked and could improve. Needs to settle better but suggested last time that the step up in trip might suit.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (125/1 0%)Dawn's Desire |
125/1(0%) | (3) Dawn's Desire 125/1, Has shown no worthwhile form and is usually held up; needs a drop in grade to be competitive. Well beaten since falling on February's hurdle debut and easy to look elsewhere.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (100/1 -150%)Freddiemissmolli |
100/1(-150%) | (4) Freddiemissmolli 100/1, Did too much too soon and helped set it up for a closer when well beaten in an amateurs' bumper over 2m at Ffos Las last time; had been in good form beforehand but needs plenty more here. Bit to find on her bumper form but goes up in trip on hurdle debut, which might help.. |

There was plenty to like about A PATH TO RONDA's winning hurdles bow at Stratford and she looks more than capable of defying a 7lb penalty. Supreme Malinas finished just behind the selection in a Listed bumper at Sandown in March and is feared most on her first appearance over timber. Merely A Detail has placed in both outings over obstacles and is the pick of the remainder.

A Path To Rhonda needs respecting under her penalty, but preference is for SUPREME MALINAS who was equally as effective in bumpers.

Currently in moderate form, and her mark looks on the high side. Ex-French; 1m4f Flat winner; modest over hurdles, including on h'cap debut; bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 -127%)Little Venice |
5/2(-127%) | (4) Little Venice 5/2, Improved slightly when beaten 3l off a mark of 86 at Uttoxeter last time. Usually held up and effective at 2m on good to soft ground. Can do better in handicaps judged on her Flat form and is still improving. 1m2f Flat winner; best hurdles run when second in Uttoxeter h'cap last time; chance. |

3rd (3) (13/8 +41%)Kupka Vallis |
13/8(+41%) | (3) Kupka Vallis 13/8, Below form and given a suspect ride when fourth, beaten 18l, in a novice hurdle over 1m7f at Wincanton on her latest run. Returning from a long layoff but looks the pick on the balance of her form. Unexposed; best run when fourth in Wincanton mares' novice in March; chance on that form. |

4th (1) (11/1 -144%)Voodoo Angel |
11/1(-144%) | (1) Voodoo Angel 11/1, Stopped quickly when third, beaten 39l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f at Exeter on her most recent start. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 2m4f on good ground but has yet to build on a promising Irish debut. Ex-Irish; second in a mares' maiden in May; below-par since; headgear tried on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 +24%)She's A Woman |
25/1(+24%) | (6) She's A Woman 25/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Worcester on her latest start. Wears a hood for the first time and returns from a break. Yet to show any ability over hurdles. Modest form so far; hood tried but stiff task from 7lb out of the handicap.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/1 +78%)Nancy Till |
9/1(+78%) | (5) Nancy Till 9/1, Fell early in a handicap chase over 2m4f here on her latest outing. Returning from a long layoff and usually held up. Needs to show more to figure. Fair form in two Irish points; 0-10 under rules; plenty to find on recent form. |

With a few having something to prove, it looks best to side with LITTLE VENICE, who is able to compete from an unchanged mark having struck the woodwork at Uttoxeter. Neil Mulholland's filly won't need much more to break her hurdling duck, although nor will Voodoo Angel, who could benefit from the application of first-time cheekpieces. Kupka Vallis completes the shortlist.

Although KUPKA VALLIS lacks a recent run she could be well treated for her handicap debut after an improved run at Wincanton last time.

Grade 2 wins last term at 2m4f in mares' contests; back at 2m, receiving plenty of weight. |

Killarney winner in May; not sure this drop in trip against specialist 2-milers will suit. |

5/1(+77%) | (5) Touch Me Not 5/1, From a yard that won this last year; made a bad error and failed to find much when fourth, beaten 15l, in the Maghull Novice Chase (Grade 1) at Aintree latest; has plenty more to find. Second-season chaser for whom ground to suit but looks to have a it to find. |

5/1(+50%) | (6) Captain Guinness 5/1, Won this race in both 2022 and 2023; back to form under positive handling when second, beaten 7l, in the Champion Chase (Grade 1) at Punchestown last time; former Champion Chase winner isn't dismissed. Two-time winner of this race but pulled up last year; 10yo respected on overall profile. |

DINOBLUE returns to action in search of a four-timer and has an enviable strike-rate over fences. She ploughs through attritional ground and can pick up where she left off last term. Found A Fifty had to dig deep to repel Solness in this event 12 months ago and will appreciate the drop in distance after coming up short as favourite in the 3m Champion Chase at Down Royal. Captain Guinness won this race in 2022 and 2023 so shouldn't be underestimated.

Likely plenty of pace on here which should play into the hands of the mare DINOBLUE

10/11(-36%) | (1) Final Straw 10/11, Did it readily and improved when stepped up in trip in first-time cheekpieces on handicap debut, landing a handicap by 2l off a mark of 95 at Kempton last time. Acts on good ground, effective from 2½m to 3m, and looks progressive with more to come as a stayer. Has no penalty to carry for last week's win at Kempton and this is a weak race. |

2nd (4) (9/1 +64%)Drumheller |
9/1(+64%) | (4) Drumheller 9/1, Below form on handicap debut when comfortably held in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time. 8/1(-129%) | (3) I Look How I Look 8/1, Below form without obvious excuse when well beaten in a 3m handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time. Had been in good form prior but has been absent for a very lengthy period; expected to win soon. Has the form to be a big player off this mark; betting informative on belated return. |

16/1(0%) | (7) He'llstopatthetop 16/1, Made mistakes and needed the run when fourth, beaten 62l, in a 3m handicap chase at Ffos Las last time. Has a bit to find on form. Last four races have been over fences, the latest a forgettable stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (50/1 -100%)Annie Nail |
50/1(-100%) | (6) Annie Nail 50/1, Failed to find much after jumping poorly and refusing to settle when fourth, beaten 22l, in a 2m5f handicap chase at Fakenham last time. A value selection on the balance of form. Hasn't achieved much over hurdles or fences since winning a chase at Fakenham in May. |

FINAL STRAW made a successful beginning to his handicap career at Kempton a week ago, handling the step up to an extended 3m with aplomb. As that came in a conditionals' event, he escapes a penalty and his amateur rider takes 7lb off his back. It will be a surprise if he is beaten, although I Look How I Look has occupied the runner-up berth a couple of times and could be a threat if ready to roll following an absence. Annie Nail might do better for the return to hurdles.

In a weak race, the chances are that FINAL STRAW will follow up last week's win at Kempton off the same mark.

15/8(-7%) | (2) That's Nice 15/8, Quickened clear cosily and improved back up in trip when winning a novice hurdle at Warwick by 1 1/4l last time. 17/2(-31%) | (5) Tom Doniphon 17/2, Keen and made too many errors when fourth, beaten 15l in a handicap chase over 2m at Aintree latest. Effective at 2 1/2m and best with cut in the ground; must settle better to progress. Shaped promisingly on last month's chase debut and can improve on that back up in trip.. |

18/1(-13%) | (9) Lemoncello 18/1, Perhaps not suited by the ground and out of form for new yard when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Newbury most recently. Returning from a long layoff and has a bit to find. French hurdle/chase winner but 0-5 in Britain and has something to prove after a break.. |

REALLYNTRUTHFULLY bolted up on his chasing bow at Fontwell last month and although 7lb higher now, that experience could be crucial. The son of Jet Away can use it to his advantage and he might need to to repel the challenge of dual novice hurdle winner That's Nice, who makes her fencing/handicap debut. Others to note include Pony Soprano and Barlovento.

Preference is for REALLYNTRUTHFULLY (nap), who looked a good prospect when winning on his chase debut and can defy the 7lb rise.

Despite finishing a well-held fourth on his hurdling bow at Cheltenham last month, this will be much less taxing for ISLAND BRIDGE. The five-year-old ought to relish testing conditions, given that his point win came on heavy ground, and natural improvement may suffice. Kicour La finished second between the flags in February and is of interest on this Rules bow, while Our Bobby Dazzler is worth some thought.

Preference is for ISLAND BRIDGE, who ran well for a long way in a warm 3m novice on last month's hurdle debut at Cheltenham.

7/2(-17%) | (4) Unspeakable 7/2, Scored by a head off 81 over 3m1f at Hereford on his penultimate start. The race may have come too soon when sixth, beaten 26l off 81 last time. Suited by 3m on a sound surface and consistent. Won over fences at Hereford; following hurdling flop came only a week later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (2/1 +43%)Ballyfinn |
2/1(+43%) | (1) Ballyfinn 2/1, Suited by the step up in trip when second, beaten 21l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time. Absent for a very lengthy period starts chasing off lenient opening mark; very interesting. Unexposed chasing newcomer and trainer adept at winning races after layoffs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (7/2 +13%)One Last Glance |
7/2(+13%) | (3) One Last Glance 7/2, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Stratford last time; consistent performer. Should be all the sharper for his hurdle run and only 3lb higher than for his chase win. |

BALLYNAHEER arrives at the top of his game, making the top two in each of his last four appearances and justifying favouritism with plenty up his sleeve at Warwick recently. A further 6lb rise isn't unduly harsh and he is worth sticking with, although Unspeakable did just deny him at Hereford last month and is 5lb better off. Christian Williams' seven-year-old does, however, have a subsequent poor display over hurdles to bounce back from. One Last Glance will also be happier back over the larger obstacles.

Something has clicked with BALLYNAHEER and he looks good to follow up his win at Warwick off what is effectively a 1lb higher mark.

10/1(+29%) | (12) Its Bilbo 10/1, Improved but no match for the classy winner when second, beaten 7l, in the O'Driscoll's Irish Whiskey Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2) over 2m at Fairyhouse latest; plenty more needed; yard's horses tend to improve for fences; chance. Decent juvenile hurdler last term; has the scope for chasing but 4yo faces a daunting task. |

100/1(-52%) | (1) Anotherway 100/1, Below form when down the field in the Lawlor's Of Naas Handicap Hurdle (Listed) over 2m5f at Punchestown, wanting easier ground; hard to recommend switched to fences. Struggled in handicap hurdles when last seen; will do well to feature on chase debut. |

25/1(+38%) | (4) Harvard Guy 25/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 4 1/4l, in the Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) over 3m at Clonmel last time; absent for a very lengthy period and plenty more needed. Progressive 2m4f handicap hurdler (here) in 2023/24 season; long absent, trip inadequate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (22/1 +33%)Jigoro |
22/1(+33%) | (5) Jigoro 22/1, From a yard that won this last year; bit below form on ground quicker than ideal when 22l third in a Conditions Hurdle over 2m4f at Clonmel most recently; looks the pick on race times. Chased home clear-cut winners on both beginners' chases last season; good bit to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (11/1 +45%)Ballybow |
11/1(+45%) | (2) Ballybow 11/1, From a yard that won this last year; outpaced from an early stage on ground that was too quick when down the field in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) over 3m at Cheltenham; in good form prior; all to do. Albert Bartlett also-ran; begins chasing here over a trip a bit on the short side. |

9th (3) (80/1 -100%)Born Braver |
80/1(-100%) | (3) Born Braver 80/1, Ran to form but lacked the speed of the principals when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Galway last time; in good form prior but off a long absence; difficult to fancy. Absent 15 months and probably best watched on chase debut in a hot maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (9) (80/1 +20%)Moudan |
80/1(+20%) | (9) Moudan 80/1, Unseated in a beginners' chase over 2m at Naas last time; trainer in form; effective at 2m with cut but needs a drop in grade over fences. Hampered and unseated rider at first on recent chase debut at Naas; stiff task. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (50/1 +24%)Mywayofthinkin |
50/1(+24%) | (10) Mywayofthinkin 50/1, Well backed but made mistakes and still green when third, beaten 13l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fairyhouse most recently; all to do. Needs to improve considerably for switch to fences; may be more of a long-term project. |

KOPEK DES BORDES makes his eagerly-awaited debut over fences and is hard to get away from. He is a dual Grade 1 winner over flights, including in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at last season's Cheltenham Festival, and is the ante-post favourite for the Arkle in March following positive updates on his schooling over fences. Jump Allen has acquitted himself well over timber and is proven over further, while the lightly-raced Lovely Hurling and the returning Harvard Guy add more spice to the mix.

All eyes will be on KOPEK DES BORDES on chasing debut, although he'll have to give his fences more respect than he did his hurdles

6/1(-20%) | (1) Mythe Bridge 6/1, Well backed and ran to form when second, beaten 4l in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Chepstow last time; has a chance. Has taken well to fences and returns on a workable mark; leading player if ready to roll.. |

7/1(+0%) | (9) Moonlight Artist 7/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced but ran to form when fourth, beaten 12l in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Warwick last time; effective at 3m, acts on good ground but inconsistent and not one to rely on building on that run. Dual 3m hurdle winner who is entitled to have improved for last month's chase debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (33/1 -32%)Universal Secret |
33/1(-32%) | (8) Universal Secret 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m at Newton Abbot last time; out of form. Versatile 8yo but exposed and others appeal more.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (100/1 -100%)Voleur De Terres |
100/1(-100%) | (10) Voleur De Terres 100/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Fakenham last time; has a lot to find switched to fences. May do better over fences after a break, though rules form offers little encouragement.. |

The vote goes to point-to-point winner SPECIAL JOHN, who posted a number of creditable efforts over hurdles last term. Now in the care of Sam Thomas, whose team is in excellent form, he can progress for the switch to fences and continue that trend. Mythe Bridge shouldn't be far away if ready to roll on his seasonal return, while Moonlight Artist heads the remainder.

With chase experience, Mythe Bridge needs respecting but preference is for SPECIAL JOHN on his chase and stable debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (15/8 +63%)Bragbor |
15/8(+63%) | (5) Bragbor 15/8, Scored by a head off 80 here three starts back; travelled well and ran to form when second, beaten 2 1/2l off 86 last time; from a top course trainer; effective from 8f to 10f and suited by all-weather; consistent performer still on a fair mark with more to come. Progressive course form for George Scott; sold 50,000gns last month; still has potential. |

9/2(-50%) | (1) Teumessias Fox 9/2, Poorly placed after missing the break and meeting trouble when beaten 4l off 101 over 11f at Kempton last time; 10f probably suits best though effective at 11f; mark dropping, in moderate form, best at Kempton. Useful AW performer on a winning mark; excuses at Kempton latest; likely to make bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/2 +44%)Savvy Victory |
5/2(+44%) | (3) Savvy Victory 5/2, Ran to form, making a big move after missing the break when beaten 3l off 100 at Doncaster last time; best around 10f and suited by give in the ground; this looks less competitive and he appears back in form. C&D win off 6lb higher last December; latest turf run promising; solid claims. |

5th (2) (20/1 -100%)Frances Ethel |
20/1(-100%) | (2) Frances Ethel 20/1, Outpaced and needed the run on stable debut when down the field in the Pride Stakes (Group 3) at Newmarket last time; trainer in form; effective from 10f to 12f; a Group winner in South Africa but with plenty to prove for new connections. Ex-South African mare; low-key stable/British debut last month (Group 3); hard to assess. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (11/1 +8%)Dream Harder |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Dream Harder 11/1, Poorly placed to challenge but ran to form when beaten 3l off 81 over 11f at Kempton last time; effective from 10f to 12f and better at 12f, goes well at Chester; below par in last three outings but has dropped below his last winning mark. Conditions to suit and on a favourable mark but his recent results have been mixed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 -65%)Return To Dubai |
33/1(-65%) | (6) Return To Dubai 33/1, Below form when beaten 4l in a handicap over 9f at Meydan last time; absent for a very lengthy period; effective at 10f and suited by all-weather; plenty to prove following a long layoff. 1m2f Polytrack winner for Godolphin; sold 24,000gns in July; absent 654 days. |

Bragbor has barely put a foot wrong so far and that probably helped persuade Richard Fahey to go to 50,000gns for him at the Horses-In-Training sale. He found a Gosden three-year-old too good here last time, though, and that could be the case again because NEBRAS got closest to a potential Pattern performer at Newmarket and there is more to come from him. Teumessias Fox never really looked like justifying favouritism in the London Middle Distance Series Final, but that market support suggests he could be ready to strike.

Teumessias Fox and Savvy Victory are respected but BRAGBOR was progressing for George Scott and can make a winning stable debut.

11/4(+39%) | (1) Kamaxos 11/4, Pulled up in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time; this is his second run after wind surgery. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground, though form has been mixed since returning from a layoff. Ex-Roger Teal; easy win early in 2024; out of sorts last term; pulled up on stable debut. |

15/2(+0%) | (4) Swinging London 15/2, Won by a short head off 65 over 12f at Newcastle two starts ago, then ran to form when fourth, beaten 6 1/2l, off 69 last time. Effective over 12–14f on the Flat; form tailed off during the summer. Won a maiden hurdle in February 2022; some fair form since; better known as AW Flat winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 +43%)Snapius |
4/1(+43%) | (3) Snapius 4/1, Probably failed to stay when fourth, beaten 16l, in a 2m2f handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time. Consistent performer overall. Won off 4lb lower last December; several good runs since; conditions suit; contender. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/4 +47%)Wise Guy |
7/4(+47%) | (6) Wise Guy 7/4, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective at 2m and suited by plenty of cut; was in fair form before latest and could bounce back from this mark. Two wins in 2024; back on a good mark, goes on heavy ground and is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (8/1 -60%)Wind Your Neck In |
8/1(-60%) | (5) Wind Your Neck In 8/1, A bit free but ran roughly to form when 9l third in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last time. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground; jumping has been an issue early in career but mark looks fair and will handle the ground. Has won three Flat races; yet to score over hurdles, but fair runs last twice; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 -120%)Kalkaroo |
11/1(-120%) | (7) Kalkaroo 11/1, Progressing over hurdles, winning a 2m2f maiden hurdle at Fontwell by 7 1/2l last time. Returning from a long absence but not without a chance. Unexposed; won maiden hurdle in August 2024; absent since; testing ground a concern. |

WISE GUY failed to live up to market expectations on his return at Ffos Las recently, but that effort may be worth forgiving. Stuart Edmunds' gelding has been eased 2lb in the handicap, meaning he is now 10lb lower than when a beaten favourite in this contest 12 months ago. With that in mind, he could go close. Kalkaroo and Snapius are feared most.

This can go to WISE GUY (nap), who is on a good mark, goes well on testing ground and will be all the better for his reappearance run.

9/2(+0%) | (5) Hill Station 9/2, Scored by 2 1/2l off 83 at Stratford on his penultimate start; rallied gamely and improved again when second beaten a nose off 88 last time; off a short break; sound surface suits; in good form but vulnerable to stronger stayers over further than 2m. Clear of the rest when second at Fontwell and should cope with another 3lb. |

3rd (8) (1/1 +50%)Premier |
1/1(+50%) | (8) Premier 1/1, Bit free and had too much to do but ran to form when fourth beaten 8l in a maiden hurdle at Warwick latest; effective at 2m and acts on good ground; opening mark looks lenient and can improve with a more positive ride. Now goes into handicaps armed with his 3yo allowance and needs taking seriously. |

4th (3) (14/1 +13%)Gregorians Star |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Gregorians Star 14/1, Keen and travelled well but found little, finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Kempton most recently; hood first time; effective at 2m and acts on any ground; bumper winner, consistent in spring over hurdles but in poor form in both codes. Accrued some place money over hurdles and this would be easier than Kempton last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (17/2 -89%)Zafaan |
17/2(-89%) | (1) Zafaan 17/2, Ran to form when beaten a length off 103 at Uttoxeter last time; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground; showed fair form on the Flat until latest, unexposed over hurdles. Dual Flat winner who has hit the frame in all three handicaps over hurdles. |

6th (2) (11/2 -38%)Belcamo |
11/2(-38%) | (2) Belcamo 11/2, Travelled well and ran to form, just out-battled late after looking the winner when second beaten 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon latest; effective at 2m and consistent. Nine-race maiden over hurdles but was runner-up off this mark at Fontwell in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (14/1 +0%)Portcammon |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Portcammon 14/1, Outpaced and ran poorly down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester most recently; effective at 2m; form trending the wrong way. Winning potential off this sort of mark but now has to bounce back from two quiet runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (20/1 -11%)Under The Sun |
20/1(-11%) | (4) Under The Sun 20/1, Travelled well and wasn't given a hard time when well beaten in a 2m2f handicap hurdle at Fontwell latest; cheekpieces first time; usually held up; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground; in poor form in both codes though Flat form suggests he should be better than this mark. Has lost his way and been laboured under both codes this year. |

HILL STATION so nearly supplemented a Stratford triumph at Fontwell and there was no certainly no disgrace in that display, especially considering the winner has gone in again twice subsequently. With that in mind, a 3lb rise might be lenient and Luke Scott gets on well with him. Zafaan has made the frame on his last couple of outings and shouldn't be far away, with Belcamo's Huntingdon second earning him a spot on the shortlist too. The juvenile Premier is very interesting on his handicap hurdle debut.

Premier takes the eye with his allowance but BIRTHDAY ANGEL is also unexposed over hurdles and has been doing well on the Flat.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (13/2 -8%)Leonard Vallis |
13/2(-8%) | (5) Leonard Vallis 13/2, Ran an excellent race on hurdle debut when second, beaten 1 1/2l, in a maiden at Gowran Park. The clear pick on overall form. Entitled to improve over positive career debut over hurdles when 2nd; could get involved. |

LEMMY CAUTION's homework has been good according to a recent stable tour and this point-to-point winner is fancied to make a successful transition to the racecourse for Gordon Elliott. Jet To Monte Carlo looks a significant threat as he cruised to victory by a wide margin in a Ballynoe point-to-point in March before switching to Emmet Mullins' yard. Leonard Vallis attracted support ahead of his debut in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last month and there was promise in his runner-up finish. Henry de Bromhead's newcomer Springs Steen is well worth a market check, while Le Roi Du Livet was narrowly denied in a bumper at Tramore last month.

This could be a shootout between expensive point purchases LEMMY CAUTION and Jet To Monte Carlo, with the vote given to the former

15/2(+12%) | (5) Ri Na Cuirte 15/2, Needed the run and was not given a hard time when fourth, beaten 18l in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f at Warwick last time. Off a short break; effective at 3m, handles any ground and should improve for that outing. Runner-up twice in a row in the spring but soundly beaten on September's return to action. |

2nd (2) (15/2 +6%)Double Click |
15/2(+6%) | (2) Double Click 15/2, Probably did not stay when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Had been in good form before that and is not without a chance. Reappears with trainer in excellent form and he could have a big part to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 +49%)Diamatiste |
10/3(+49%) | (1) Diamatiste 10/3, Outpaced before rallying and ran to form when fourth, beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, handles any ground and looks progressive. His best form in his short career has come here and he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 +29%)Elusiveness |
10/1(+29%) | (6) Elusiveness 10/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Newton Abbot last time. Previously in good form and effective from 2 1/2m to 3m. Progressive in the spring but the handicapper may now have her measure. Ended last season with hat-trick but well beaten on last month's reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/2 -27%)Jakar Du Moulin |
7/2(-27%) | (3) Jakar Du Moulin 7/2, From a yard that won this race last year. Unseated in a maiden hurdle over 3m at Chepstow last time. Effective between 2 1/2m and 3m, handles any ground, and remains unexposed at staying trips with a fair opening mark. Promise last season and this handicap newcomer could have lots more to offer for top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (3/1 +70%)Kingston Gent |
3/1(+70%) | (8) Kingston Gent 3/1, Outpaced and a bit below form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las most recently. Effective at 2 1/2m and handles a sound surface. Longer trip could suit though his current mark demands more. 0-7 over hurdles but runner-up at Fontwell in April and has had excuses so far this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (22/1 -175%)Stiletto |
22/1(-175%) | (7) Stiletto 22/1, Won by 3 1/2l off 94 over 3m at Perth on his penultimate start. Outpaced but ran to form when fourth, beaten 6l off 100 last time. Prefers a sound surface, effective from 2m to 3m, and remains in good form since breaking his maiden. Won two in a row in September and soft ground may not have been ideal subsequently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -32%)I Love You Sivola |
66/1(-32%) | (9) I Love You Sivola 66/1, Unsuited by how the race developed but improved on recent form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time. Returning from a break and needs to show more to be competitive. Sole win (from 40 races) came over fences in France in 2022; 6lb out of the handicap today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (10/1 -300%)Henrysbrotherjack |
10/1(-300%) | (4) Henrysbrotherjack 10/1, Keen but well treated up 6lb, and a thorough stayer who won a handicap by 1 1/4l off 96 over 3m at Perth last time. The trainer is in good form and he looks progressive. Three wins from final four runs last term and this progressive 6yo is respected on return. |

HENRYSBROTHERJACK was on a sharp upward curve when last seen, winning three of his last four starts, although he is 8lb higher on his return to action. However, the yard could hardly be in better form and given that he has shown versatility regarding ground, it's possible he could find the required improvement. Diamatiste made a pleasing reappearance over C&D recently so must be considered, along with handicap debutant Jakar Du Moulin.

The Paul Nicholls-trained JAKAR DU MOULIN has potential off his opening mark and earns the vote ahead of Henrysbrotherjack.

1st (4) (4/6 +27%)My Love Is King |
4/6(+27%) | (4) My Love Is King 4/6, 18 Feb; Kingman colt; half-brother to Loving Things, high-class at 12f; dam high-class at 12f; trainer in form; likely go well. Has Pattern-race winners among his siblings and he is of obvious interest in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/5 -9%)Ilraawi |
6/5(-9%) | (2) Ilraawi 6/5, 15 Feb; 220,000gns Study Of Man colt; half-brother to Toro Dorado, useful at 12f; dam useful at 11f; probably need the experience. 220,000gns half-brother to two winners out of a middle-distance winner; likely newcomer. |

28/1(-56%) | (5) Arc La Shari 28/1, 16 Mar; 20,000 euros Pinatubo filly; half-sister to Roman Turbo, very smart at 6f; dam smart at 6f at 2yo; tough enough task on debut. 20,000euros yearling; dam a Listed-placed 5f/7f AW winner; yard not noted for 2yo winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (100/1 -52%)A Boy Named Mary |
100/1(-52%) | (1) A Boy Named Mary 100/1, Too green to show anything on debut when well beaten in a maiden at York on only start; returns from a short break and has plenty to prove. Tailed off on York debut in September (7f, good; 125-1); can't be recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (33/1 +34%)King Of Yorkshire |
33/1(+34%) | (3) King Of Yorkshire 33/1, Outpaced and failed to build on debut when well beaten in a novice here last time; bred for 8-10f and looks the type to do better in handicaps over further. Down the field in two 7f novice runs this autumn; likely a longer-term prospect. |

King Of Yorkshire and A Boy Named Mary have shown precious little so it is best to focus on the newcomers, namely a couple of Newmarket raiders. Ilraawi cost 220,000gns as a yearling and should come into his own over middle-distances next year, but MY LOVE IS KING is preferred. From an excellent family the Gosdens know well - he is out of a half-sister to their Coronation Stakes heroine Fallen For You - the son of Kingman is fancied to hit the ground running.

This appears likely to rest between the Newmarket raiders Ilraawi and MY LOVE IS KING. The latter is narrowly preferred.

14/1(-100%) | (3) Urgent Call 14/1, Disappointed on handicap debut when beaten 7 1/2l in a nursery over 8f at Kempton last time but had been in good form previously. Cheekpieces go on for the first time. A big colt bred to want 8–10f and sound surfaces; needs to improve off this mark. Failed to fire on nursery debut latest but still early days and he's now tried in headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (12/1 -41%)Alkumatic Jo Jo |
12/1(-41%) | (6) Alkumatic Jo Jo 12/1, Ran to form when finishing 3l third in a novice over 8f at Bath last time. Effective at 7–8f and acts well on all-weather surfaces. Consistent early in her career and could be on a lenient opening mark. Clear signs of promise in three maiden/novice runs; more needed to defy opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/2 +30%)Light The Night Up |
7/2(+30%) | (5) Light The Night Up 7/2, Travelled well and was outbattled late but ran to form when 8l third in a novice over 8f here last time. The trainer is in form. Though speedily bred, she appears to need at least 7f and goes well on the all-weather. Opening mark looks fair. In the frame here on her last two starts but in small fields; needs more now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (25/1 -108%)Archangel Josepi |
25/1(-108%) | (7) Archangel Josepi 25/1, Disappointed on handicap debut when beaten 8l in a 6f nursery here last time. Effective at 6f and handles all-weather surfaces. Needs to bounce back to earlier form. Unable to reward market support here on recent nursery debut (6f); 7f should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/2 +58%)Mr Wonka |
5/2(+58%) | (1) Mr Wonka 5/2, Ran to form when finishing 6l third in a nursery at Newmarket on his latest outing. Proven over 7f on all-weather surfaces and generally consistent early in his career. His handicap debut form appears strong. Well held in 3rd on nursery debut but behind two well-treated rivals; down in class today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (3/1 -9%)Boy Named Sioux |
3/1(-9%) | (2) Boy Named Sioux 3/1, Improved when stepped up in trip, winning a handicap by 1/2l off a mark of 68 at Southwell last time. Wears a hood for the first time and hails from a leading course trainer. Effective at 5–7f on all-weather; needs a bit more to defy the rise. Ready win at Southwell two weeks ago; 5lb rise demands more but it's possible; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (10/3 0%)Illy's Roo |
10/3(0%) | (4) Illy's Roo 10/3, Had too much to do after missing the break and meeting trouble when beaten 4l in a Haydock nursery last time. Effective at 7f and bred to want further up to 10–12f. His novice win may not have come in strong company, but his mark looks fair. Looked good at Salisbury on 2nd run; beaten fav on h'cap debut but had excuses; unexposed. |

MR WONKA has been dropped 2lb for finishing third on his nursery debut, but that could prove a bit hasty because the winner followed up in Listed company and the runner-up went agonisingly close at Kempton a week later. Hugo Palmer's colt is proven on this surface too, having occupied the runner-up berth in a C&D maiden. Boy Named Sioux overcame a slight bit of waywardness to break through at Southwell and has a hood applied now. Illy's Roo is better than he could show at Haydock, while Light The Night Up and Alkumatic Jo Jo are interesting handicap newcomers.

Mr Wonka looks solid but ILLY'S ROO is given another chance to confirm the impression he created at Salisbury last month.

1st (6) (9/1 +0%)Alfa Patisserie |
9/1(+0%) | (6) Alfa Patisserie 9/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a novice over 6f at Pontefract last time. Returning from a break and effective at 6-7f but has yet to build on a promising debut. Nursery debut; not progressed but could be a contender if tapping back into debut promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3/1 +10%)Popty Ping |
3/1(+10%) | (7) Popty Ping 3/1, Too much to do when ridden to see out the trip, finishing 4 1/4l third in a nursery here most recently. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective from 6f to 8f on the all-weather. Inconsistent but capable if repeating that effort. 0-7 but has shown promise here and the first-time cheekpieces could eke out extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/1 +45%)Farabove The Limit |
6/1(+45%) | (3) Farabove The Limit 6/1, Disappointing when stepped up in trip and tried in first-time blinkers on handicap debut, finishing down the field in a Bellewstown nursery. Has shown inconsistency. Down the field on all four starts in Ireland for Gordon Elliott, handicap debut last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (16/1 -357%)Parole Officer |
16/1(-357%) | (1) Parole Officer 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/2l off 67 over 7f at Lingfield last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and handles the all-weather. Quite small but generally reliable. 0-7 for Sean Woods but could be a player now back up to 1m on stable/Tapeta debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (8/1 +0%)Panthere Noir |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Panthere Noir 8/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a nursery over 7f at Musselburgh latest. Had been in good form before that and consistent until then. Effective at 6-7f. Didn't convince with stamina on sole previous effort at 1m but it was still a positive run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/8 +50%)Maxwellcan |
11/8(+50%) | (4) Maxwellcan 11/8, Had every chance but finished below form when comfortably held in a novice at Redcar last time. Likely to need more time and may be better suited by further than 1m. Soundly beaten on all three starts but has useful pedigree and modest opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (12/1 -33%)Emerald Coast |
12/1(-33%) | (5) Emerald Coast 12/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when well beaten in a nursery at Bath. Effective over nearly 8f but needs to improve to make an impact in nurseries. Close third on debut in August but well beaten all three starts since, including nursery. |

A 2lb drop in the ratings for POPTY PING's latest third over C&D could prove lenient and a breakthrough victory might be on the cards. David O'Meara's filly found herself with too much to do and the introduction of cheekpieces may prove decisive. Stable debutant Parole Officer arrives on the back of a respectable fifth at Lingfield and is feared most, ahead of Panthere Noir, who should take to this surface.

Charlie Johnston is in excellent form and the attractively bred MAXWELLCAN is taken to make a winning nursery debut off a modest mark.

Promising third over C&D in September; open to improvement; one to take seriously. |

13/2(-136%) | (6) Gardening 13/2, 13 Apr; 18,000gns Dandy Man filly; half-sister to Branding, useful at 5f; from a top trainer. 18,000gns half-sister to 5 winners; represents leading yard and needs close market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (50/1 -52%)Luck Money |
50/1(-52%) | (5) Luck Money 50/1, Short of room late and unsuited by the drop in trip when beaten 7l in a maiden over 5f at Catterick last time; bred to be effective from 6f upwards; should improve back at 6f. Two runs last month were both encouraging enough; may be one for nurseries after this. |

APPLESANDPEARS built on encouraging introduction to score in fine style at Chelmsford and with Jack Callan removing a handy 5lb, she can defy a penalty to go in again. Clementines Star posted a positive debut effort over C&D in September and is one of the likelier threats, while it would come as no surprise were Karl Burke's youngster Gardening to go well first time out.

Gardening is a speedily-bred newcomer but APPLESANDPEARS can defy the penalty she picked up when winning tidily at Chelmsford.

28/1(+30%) | (14) Heavenly Heather 28/1, Below form when beaten 7l in a 7f handicap here last time. Effective at 6f or 7f, suited by a sound surface, but her current mark may be high enough. Shock 7f win here in April and shown that was no fluke since; others still more appealing. |

10/1(+38%) | (6) Secret Guest 10/1, Never threatened when beaten 6l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Suited by 6f and acts on any surface. Inconsistent but back below his last winning mark. Better than ever when winning at Thirsk in May; mixed bag since and needs a full revival. |

4th (1) (14/1 +58%)The Caltonian |
14/1(+58%) | (1) The Caltonian 14/1, Disappointing when back up in trip, finishing down the field in a 7f handicap at Southwell most recently. Effective from 5f to 7f, all wins on the all-weather, but currently out of form. C&D win off 1lb lower on New Year's Day; last of 11 on return to AW last month. |

50/1(-150%) | (10) Arnhem 50/1, Won by a neck off 68 over 5f at Haydock in September, then ran poorly up in grade when 12th, beaten 6l, off 73 last time. Effective at 5f or 6f and acts on any surface; on a workable mark and in fair form before that latest effort. Form dipped at Pontefract last time; higher AW mark to deal with and probably best at 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 +38%)Uncle Don |
4/1(+38%) | (3) Uncle Don 4/1, Ran to form and possibly outstayed late when beaten 3 1/4l off 89 over 7f at Newbury last time. From a top course trainer, effective at 5f or 6f, and needs to build on his recent revival though his mark looks stiff enough. Yet to win a handicap but he has run some good races in defeat this year; AW debut; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (14/1 -75%)Oriental Prince |
14/1(-75%) | (11) Oriental Prince 14/1, Returned to form off a much-reduced mark when winning a 5f handicap here by 2 1/2l off 72 last time. Effective at 6f and acts on the all-weather; remains well treated on old form and goes well over this C&D. Eight wins since December, the latest an easy one over 5f here 16 days ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (22/1 -120%)Irish Nectar |
22/1(-120%) | (12) Irish Nectar 22/1, Returned to form down in grade when beaten a head off 77 at Pontefract last time. Suited by 6f and acts on the all-weather; on a fair mark and back in form. Ended time with K Ryan in good form; still feasibly weighted ahead of stable/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (14/1 -100%)Stratusnine |
14/1(-100%) | (4) Stratusnine 14/1, Improved up in trip when second, beaten 1 1/4l, in a 2yo race over 7f at York last time. Returns from a long absence. Promising 2yo; absent 402 days (gelded) but brings potential to his AW/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (11/1 +31%)Orne |
11/1(+31%) | (9) Orne 11/1, Ran to his current level of form when beaten 2l off 82 at Pontefract last time. Suited by 6f and probably acts on good ground; has regressed considerably. Down in weights and returned to form at Pontefract latest; others still more appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (22/1 +33%)The Turpinator |
22/1(+33%) | (13) The Turpinator 22/1, Didn't get a run and wasn't given a hard time when beaten 5l in a 7f handicap at Southwell last time. Effective at 6f or 7f; has something to prove on recent efforts though the handicapper is easing his mark. Not shone after a summer break but this C&D winner has slipped to a handy mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (11/1 +0%)Mr Cool |
11/1(+0%) | (8) Mr Cool 11/1, Ran to form but got racing early and set it up for a closer when beaten 1 1/4l off 80 at Kempton last time. Effective at 5f or 6f and acts on the all-weather; in form but now on his highest mark. Having a good year and latest 2nd was behind a thriving opponent; needs to step up again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (7) (10/3 +0%)Maelstrom |
10/3(+0%) | (7) Maelstrom 10/3, Ran to form and needed the run when 5 1/2l third in a handicap at Newbury most recently. The trainer is in form; effective at 6f, has a good attitude and appears to have more to come. Started 2025 with three handicap wins; two runs since both suggest he's capable of better. |

This is competitive and only a tentative vote can go to ORNE. Antony Brittain's charge has been falling down the handicap for some time now, but there were encouraging signs at Pontefract last month. If he takes another step forward on the Tapeta, it will be surprising if he doesn't play a leading role. Recent course winner Oriental Prince is of obvious interest, as is the progressive Maelstrom, and Stratusnine should not be underestimated on his comeback.

6f on deep ground was all too much for MAELSTROM (nap) last month but he can prove here that he is still ahead of the handicapper.

17/2(-6%) | (7) Selection 17/2, Won by 2 1/2l off 70 here on her penultimate start; a bit below form off a revised mark when fifth beaten 4l off 76 last time. Effective between 6f and 8f, bred to sprint, and generally consistent on the all-weather. C&D win last month but only midfield against male opposition last time; up in class today. |

4th (8) (3/1 +40%)La Scanderbeide |
3/1(+40%) | (8) La Scanderbeide 3/1, Travelled well but found little when stepped back up in trip and beaten 6l in a 10f handicap at Goodwood last time. Tongue-tie on for the first time; wide draw. Effective from 8f to 10f and acts on all-weather; her novice form may flatter her. Debut win (1m, good) followed by four consistent efforts; new tongue-tie needs to lift her. |

5th (2) (6/1 -71%)Queen Of Atlantis |
6/1(-71%) | (2) Queen Of Atlantis 6/1, Outclassed when finishing down the field in the Prix Dahlia (Listed) over 10f at Saint-Cloud most recently. Effective between 8f and 10f on all-weather and very consistent in handicaps. Stiff task last time; record of 3-4 in AW handicaps piques interest back down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (12/1 -71%)Wonderbolt |
12/1(-71%) | (9) Wonderbolt 12/1, Raced far too freely when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time; trainer in form. Effective over 7f to 8f on the all-weather; needs to settle better to show her true form. Won her first two handicaps in August; below par twice since; still early days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (14/1 +13%)Elsie's Ruan |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Elsie's Ruan 14/1, Up in trip and may not have stayed when down the field in a handicap over 12f at Catterick last time; wide draw. Effective over 7f as a 2yo on faster ground but has plenty to prove after four poor runs this season. Struggled this year but drops back in trip and has slipped a long way down the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (16/1 -33%)Bellarchi |
16/1(-33%) | (1) Bellarchi 16/1, Scored by 3/4l off 84 over 7f at Musselburgh three starts back; found little when eighth beaten 19l off 86 last time. Effective over 7f to 8f and acts on any surface but has not been at her best on recent starts and her mark looks stiff enough. Four wins in 2025, including Tapeta; fair mark but needs to rebound from two heavy defeats. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (10/1 -122%)Bernalda |
10/1(-122%) | (3) Bernalda 10/1, Won by 4l off 73 here on her penultimate start; raced too freely and challenged too early when fifth beaten 5 1/2l off 73 last time. Effective over 8f to 10f on the all-weather; not the most enthusiastic but blinkers have helped and she could bounce back. Bolted up over C&D in September but beaten off 9lb lower mark than this next time. |

A wide draw was the undoing of BERNALDA last time, but that should not be an issue here and the otherwise progressive daughter of Frankel is expected to bounce straight back. Stateira was given some time off following an underwhelming second appearance in a handicap and she remains open to improvement so it would be unwise to rule her out. Of the remainder, Donna Nook makes the most appeal.

Andrew Balding's STATEIRA still has some potential and her peak effors suggest there is still mileage in her mark.

13/2(-8%) | (6) Tiriac 13/2, Returned to form when fourth beaten 5l in a 6f handicap at Nottingham last time; trainer in form; suited by 5-6f; handicapper relenting though losing run mounting. On a dangerous mark and AW should be fine on pedigree; interesting with headgear returned. |

2nd (7) (5/2 +64%)Dandy Dinmont |
5/2(+64%) | (7) Dandy Dinmont 5/2, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 67 over 6f here last time; wide draw; effective at 5/6f; mark still competitive and consistent. Reliable sprinter who was 3rd over 6f here last month; each-way shout once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/3 +26%)Spirit Of Applause |
10/3(+26%) | (2) Spirit Of Applause 10/3, Scored by a head off 66 at Southwell in September; travelled well and ran to form when third beaten 1 1/4l off 69 last time; best at 5f; in form with a competitive mark. Reliable on AW; close third over C&D ten days ago; in the mix once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (7/1 +7%)Our Absent Friends |
7/1(+7%) | (9) Our Absent Friends 7/1, Scored by 1/2l off 62 at Redcar in September; ran to form when third beaten 2 1/4l off 64 last time; wide draw; suited by 5f; inconsistent but capable off this mark. Prominent racer; two-time C&D winner; in good order but needs more to take this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (33/1 -50%)Opal Storm |
33/1(-50%) | (10) Opal Storm 33/1, Never threatened when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective at 5f; generally consistent but her mark looks about right. Needs everything to fall right and others in this field have more compelling claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (13/2 +54%)Ay Gee Ell |
13/2(+54%) | (5) Ay Gee Ell 13/2, No obvious excuse when beaten 4l off 71 over 6f at Wolverhampton last time; top course trainer; effective at 5f though not fully proven over 6f; in poor form since returning from a break. Ten-race maiden; down in the weights but he still looks vulnerable for win purposes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (33/1 -65%)Mersea |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Mersea 33/1, Below form up in grade when beaten 6l in a handicap here last time; enjoys racing prominently; wide draw; best at 5f; inconsistent of late. Never in contention over C&D ten days ago; that was after a break but others are safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (16/1 -146%)J Street |
16/1(-146%) | (1) J Street 16/1, Ran to form when beaten a short-head off 70 at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 5f; fair mark if building on recent revival. Good run at Wolverhampton last month; makes stable debut off a handy mark; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (11/2 -83%)Macarone |
11/2(-83%) | (8) Macarone 11/2, Ran to form off a new mark, winning well by 1 1/4l off 62 over 6f at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 5-7f; respected up 4lb bidding for a C&D hat-trick. Chasing hat-trick after two 6f Wolverhampton wins; quick enough for 5f; leading contender. |

MACARONE has been rejuvenated by a switch to Ivan Furtado and completed a Wolverhampton double with a dominant display. He possesses plenty of pace so, if anything, the drop from 6f could see him in an even better light. J Street burst back into life when upgraded to second on that same Wolverhampton card, and has since left Furtado to join Mick and David Easterby. The Tim Easterby-trained Spirit Of Applause helps give the family a strong hand, with Dandy Dinmont and Our Absent Friends in the mix too.

A competitive sprint in which the return of cheekpieces could see TIRIAC make his first AW start a winning one.
Ths is the racecard key.
