(2) (7/2 +0%)Wee Alki |
7/2(+0%) | (2) Wee Alki 7/2, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 2l off 93 over 2m7f here last time. Suited by 3m and acts on good to soft ground; consistent type who may still have a bit more to offer. Came good with 2m7f win here 12 days ago; 2m4f on slower ground may not suit as well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (8/1 +0%)Palm Beach |
8/1(+0%) | (8) Palm Beach 8/1, Outpaced but returned to form up in trip, aided by a strong pace, when winning by 5l off 75 over 2m7f at Worcester last time. Returning from a break; effective from 2½m to 3m and remains well treated on old form. Won off lowly mark for Ben Pauling this summer; makes stable debut after four-month break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (9/2 +0%)Little Wren |
9/2(+0%) | (10) Little Wren 9/2, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a 2m novice hurdle at Worcester last time. Usually held up and yet to show much; has shown little so far for a top yard, though longer trip could help on handicap debut. Always behind in three 2m maiden/novice hurdles; improvement likely in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/4 +0%)Buzz Iceclear |
9/4(+0%) | (1) Buzz Iceclear 9/4, Improved up in trip on handicap debut when winning by a neck off 94 over 3m at Ayr last time. Effective from 2m to 3m, his latest form has been boosted and there should be more to come. Scored on recent seasonal/handicap debut (3m) and has scope to improve again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 +0%)The Resdev Tyke |
11/1(+0%) | (5) The Resdev Tyke 11/1, Outpaced and never threatened when finishing down the field in a 2m handicap hurdle at Perth last time. Effective at 2m; may improve for the longer trip but current mark looks stiff. Did not get competitive on seasonal/handicap debut; tries a new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (15/2 +0%)Wise Move |
15/2(+0%) | (4) Wise Move 15/2, Returned to form when up in trip, beaten 3l off 95 over 2m7f here last time. Effective around 3m and could build on that recent revival. 0-7 over hurdles but ran well from the front when fourth here (2m7f) in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (18/1 +0%)Coventry |
18/1(+0%) | (7) Coventry 18/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Perth last time. Effective around 2½m but a tricky ride who appears to be regressing. Out of form this autumn and remains without a win since March 2021. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (20/1 +0%)Grand Voyage |
20/1(+0%) | (3) Grand Voyage 20/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time. Effective around 2½m and acts on any going; better over fences and proving tricky to win with. Pulled up in a chase this month and safely held when back hurdling a week later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (22/1 +0%)Solway Primrose |
22/1(+0%) | (11) Solway Primrose 22/1, Pulled up in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time after a short break. Effective at 3m and suited by some cut in the ground; needs to prove ability remains after the layoff. Won here two years ago but her current ability is hard to gauge. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (28/1 +0%)Ambassador |
28/1(+0%) | (6) Ambassador 28/1, Won by 3½l off 88 over 2m1f at Cartmel in August but offered no obvious excuse when sixth, beaten 36l off 91 last time. Effective at 2m and prefers a sound surface; inconsistent performer. Seven hurdle wins; needs to up his game after some underwhelming efforts this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (50/1 +0%)Perfect Poli |
50/1(+0%) | (9) Perfect Poli 50/1, Still green and stopped quickly after a series of errors when well beaten in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Cartmel last time. Returning from a break; effective around 2½m but yet to build on debut promise. Soundly beaten in first two handicaps; returns from four-month break. |

Conor Rabbitt helped get the best out of Wee Alki over the extended 2m7f here, with the six-year-old deservedly breaking through. BUZZ ICECLEAR also drops in distance on the back of a first victory, but there may be slightly more substance to his Ayr defeat of a Gordon Elliott raider and, as that was his handicap debut, he potentially has more scope for improvement. Palm Beach is another to arrive on the back of a win, although that came back in July and he has swapped stables since.

Topweight BUZZ ICECLEAR (nap) does not look harshly treated by a 5lb rise for his recent win and has scope to build on that performance.

(1) (13/8 -30%)Spirits Bay |
13/8(-30%) | (1) Spirits Bay 13/8, Won cosily when outclassing rivals after dropping in grade and benefiting from the reduced trip, landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 122 over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time; the pick on balance of form off lenient mark starting out over fences. Won over hurdles on last month's return; bred for fences and he's a player on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/4 +50%)Excelero |
7/4(+50%) | (2) Excelero 7/4, Too free and went clear, making too much use of himself when fourth, beaten 15l in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Worcester latest; trainer in form; enjoys making the running; effective 2–2 1/4m; must settle better over fences. Shaped encouragingly on last month's chase debut; should build on that and this is easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (2/1 -33%)Mister Cessna |
2/1(-33%) | (3) Mister Cessna 2/1, Did it readily and looked well treated on hurdle form, improving back over fences to win a handicap by 5l off 120 at Uttoxeter last time; effective at 2m and handles any ground; progressing for new yard but this demands more. Ready winner on chase debut despite jumping a little to his right; big claims up 5lb. |

It's hard to oppose MISTER CESSNA. Fergal O'Brien's charge made a strong impression when a five-length victor at Uttoxeter last month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put him up 5lb. With a similar performance, the four-year-old will prove very tough to beat. Spirits Bay struck over the smaller obstacles at Newton Abbot last time and has to be of interest on his chasing bow. Excelero looks booked for third.

All three have solid claims but EXCELERO shaped encouragingly on his chase debut at Worcester last month and gets the nod.

(7) (1/33 +94%)There Runs Mary |
1/33(+94%) | (7) There Runs Mary 1/33, Ran to form up in grade under a penalty when second, beaten 3l, in a mares' bumper at Newbury last time; trainer in form; returns from a long layoff and looks the one to beat on bumper form. Looked promising in slow-ground bumpers last season; ought to make presence felt here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +65%)Pipas Lescribaa |
14/1(+65%) | (6) Pipas Lescribaa 14/1, Below form when well beaten in a 2m4f conditions race at Bordeaux Le Bouscat last time; returns from a long layoff; effective at 2m and handles soft ground; a French flat winner whose hurdle form has since declined. Safely held in two slow-ground hurdles in France at start of this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (25/1 +75%)Adrian |
25/1(+75%) | (1) Adrian 25/1, Never threatened when well beaten in a handicap over 2m1f at Wolverhampton last time; has plenty to find here and stamina to prove on hurdle debut. Has a lowly Flat mark nowadays and makes very limited appeal on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (33/1 +67%)Elusive Knight |
33/1(+67%) | (3) Elusive Knight 33/1, Found little when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time; acts on good ground and may show more under rules, though likely better suited by a longer trip than 2m. Won maiden point in March but has struggled in three maiden hurdles this autumn. |

Klimt Madrik shaped with promise here on his Rules debut and although it wasn't quite enough to claim a place, better can be expected. That said, he already appeared to want further so with a drop in trip not certain to be of benefit, it looks best to side with THERE RUNS MARY. Olly Murphy's mare, a bumper winner at the beginning of the year, is related to the useful She's A Fine Wine so if anything like her sister now sent hurdling, should be hard to beat. Adrian completes the shortlist.

Preference is for KLIMT MADRIK, who made a good start to his hurdling career here three weeks ago.

(5) (6/4 +0%)Like Minded |
6/4(+0%) | (5) Like Minded 6/4, 47,000 euros Wings Of Eagles gelding; half-brother to Hawthorn Street, fair at 19f; tough enough task on debut. 47,000euros 3yo; from a respected stable (one of two for yard) and represents JP McManus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/1 +0%)Count Adhemar |
7/1(+0%) | (1) Count Adhemar 7/1, Below bumper form when third, beaten 48l, in a maiden hurdle at Ayr on latest run; returning from a long layoff; effective over 2m; more to come judged on bumper form. Well-beaten 3rd on sole hurdle start but there's potential in his pedigree; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/4 +0%)Hourman |
9/4(+0%) | (3) Hourman 9/4, Promising bumper debut when fourth, beaten 3/4l, in a bumper here on first start; the pick on the balance of form starting out over hurdles. Fourth in blanket finish on debut in bumper here; in good hands to progress; goes hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 +0%)Wherearethejudges |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Wherearethejudges 14/1, Modest effort when fourth, beaten 9l, in a conditions race over 2m4f at Tranwell on debut; difficult to fancy. Fourth in British point in March when he would have been closer but for bad mistake. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (15/2 +0%)Nosy Neighbour |
15/2(+0%) | (6) Nosy Neighbour 15/2, Modest effort when fourth, beaten 23l, in a maiden over 3m at Monksgrange on debut; has a bit to find. Ran okay but failed to threaten in two Irish points; his claims aren't compelling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (40/1 +0%)Eastern Storm |
40/1(+0%) | (2) Eastern Storm 40/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m7f here last time; effective at around 2½m; yet to show anything under rules. Beat only one opponent when winning a point-to-point; pulled up at 50-1 here in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (8/1 +43%)Ivan's Legacy |
8/1(+43%) | (4) Ivan's Legacy 8/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 22l, in a bumper here on latest start; has a bit to find. Soundly beaten when fourth in all three bumpers; improvement needed on first hurdle start. |

Hourman was beaten less than a length into fourth in a bumper here last month, which just about sets the form standard, but it is interesting that Derek Fox sports the JP McManus colours on his stable companion LIKE MINDED. The four-year-old is from the family of Irish National winner Thunder And Roses and was bought for 47,000 euros last year. Count Adhemar has shown some ability at Ayr and he rounds out the shortlist.

JP McManus' 4yo LIKE MINDED has been found a weak race for his debut and gets the nod ahead of stablemate Hourman.

(1) (11/4 +61%)Oh My Johnny |
11/4(+61%) | (1) Oh My Johnny 11/4, Yard won this race last year; below form up in grade when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on soft and good to soft ground; was in form until latest effort. Won Hereford h'cap off 4lb lower in February; chance if tuned up for this reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 +21%)Onewaywest |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Onewaywest 11/4, Ran to form appreciating a return to a longer trip when second, beaten 4½l, in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective over 2½m and acts on soft and good to soft ground, though can be inconsistent. Blew hot and cold in four starts last term; mark okay for return; look for market support. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 -60%)Diamond Geezer |
4/1(-60%) | (4) Diamond Geezer 4/1, Improved in first-time cheekpieces to win a 2m4f handicap at Perth by ¾l off a mark of 102 last time. The trainer is in form; effective from 2m to 2½m and handles soft and good to soft ground. Progressive with strong recent form. Cheeekpieces on when opening his account at Perth (2m4f, soft) last time; player up 6lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/2 -64%)Codetalker |
9/2(-64%) | (5) Codetalker 9/2, Showed a willing attitude and improved from debut when second, beaten ¾l, in a 2m maiden hurdle at Fakenham last time. Effective at 2m and should improve for stepping up in trip. Promise in both hurdle starts; step up in trip can suit on h'cap debut; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/2 +36%)Sweet Magic |
9/2(+36%) | (6) Sweet Magic 9/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 5l, in a handicap hurdle here last time, looking in need of a slightly stiffer test. Returning from a long layoff; effective over 2½m and acts on soft and good to soft ground; a maiden in fair form. 0-10 over hurdles but good efforts all three starts over C&D; contender on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (33/1 -230%)Vocito |
33/1(-230%) | (2) Vocito 33/1, A bit below form when comfortably held in a 2m handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. The trainer is in form, and he enjoys making the running. Effective at 2m and suited by a sound surface; generally consistent since joining this yard. Exposed hurdler; won in cheekpieces in July but that aid continues to be absent. |

Despite not jumping with fluency, DIAMOND GEEZER justified favouritism in first-time cheekpieces at Perth last month and could improve again on just his fourth start in a handicap. Codetalker showed more when second over 2m at Fakenham and is of interest on his handicap bow, with the step up in distance a possible source of improvement. Onewaywest looks best of the rest.

Most of these can be fancied but CODETALKER looks interesting on his handicap debut, with the step up in trip likely to suit.

(8) (13/8 +59%)Try The Money |
13/8(+59%) | (8) Try The Money 13/8, Ran to form when second, beaten 6½l in a handicap chase here last time. Effective at 3m and suited by soft ground; latest form has worked out very well. 0-6 over fences but ended last season with good second over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (11/4 +45%)Shot Boii |
11/4(+45%) | (2) Shot Boii 11/4, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 12l in a handicap chase here last time. Effective at 3m, handles any ground and generally consistent. Makes seasonal debut from a good mark and with trip/ground suitable; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 +47%)Stellar Stream |
4/1(+47%) | (1) Stellar Stream 4/1, Never threatened and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m1f here last time. Effective over 3m+, suited by soft ground, though appears to be regressing. Well handicapped but has become inconsistent; made low-key seasonal debut last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (6/1 -167%)Esperti |
6/1(-167%) | (5) Esperti 6/1, Well treated up 5lb and ran to form when beaten 1¼l off 80 over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time after a break. Usually held up; effective at 3m and handles any ground; back in form and remains well treated on old efforts. C&D winner in February and made creditable reappearance last month; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (12/1 +0%)Benny Baloo |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Benny Baloo 12/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time after a short break. Effective at 3m+; has dropped in the weights and ran well to a point on stable debut. Well beaten on stable debut but that came after a long absence; market may guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (22/1 -100%)Dysania |
22/1(-100%) | (9) Dysania 22/1, Below form when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Fontwell last time. Effective at 3m but inconsistent. Very inconsistent 10yo who sometimes races lazily and is never easy to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (33/1 -450%)Spotty Dog |
33/1(-450%) | (6) Spotty Dog 33/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 10l in a handicap chase over 3m4f at Taunton last time. Effective at 3m+ and prefers decent ground; not the force of old but running well recently. Began this year with some respectable efforts but has fitness to prove after 224-day break. |

ESPERTI turned a corner to score over C&D on his final start last season before returning with a good second at Newton Abbot. Perhaps crucially, David Rees' gelding will relish testing conditions and, with the assistance of Sean Bowen, could earn a second chasing triumph. Try The Money still has few miles on the clock so may have a bit more to offer, while Shot Boii is worth a look on his reappearance.

After a pleasing seasonal debut at Newton Abbot last month, ESPERTI is taken to record a second C&D success.

11/8(+15%) | (9) What About Us 11/8, Travelled, promising debut when runner-up beaten 3/4l in a maiden here only start; top course trainer; effective at 7f, acts on AW; leading chance judged on C&D debut. Second to the twice-raced Anushka over C&D three weeks ago, faces two useful colts here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (7/4 +65%)Watch Tower |
7/4(+65%) | (7) Watch Tower 7/4, Improved on debut when beaten 9l in a maiden over 6f at the Curragh last time; with a top course jockey; returning from a break; effective at 6f; may improve for this longer trip. Shaped well on Naas debut, confirmed potential in a Curragh race that has worked out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/4 -38%)Seoul Force |
11/4(-38%) | (4) Seoul Force 11/4, Bit below best faced with deep ground when fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a maiden over 6f at the Curragh latest; trainer in form; effective 7f, acts on S, G; debut form franked at Listed level. Has shown ability in Curragh maidens won by Ballydoyle inmates, should not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/1 +45%)Thirsty Owl |
11/1(+45%) | (6) Thirsty Owl 11/1, 10 Mar; 60,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Nando Parrado; half-brother to Desert Falcon, very useful at 6f; dam very useful at 6f; probably best watched on debut. E60,000 Breeze Up buy, third foal; half-brother to two winners, dam 6f winner (inc AW). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 -100%)Cosmic Motion |
50/1(-100%) | (2) Cosmic Motion 50/1, Disappointing debut when well beaten in an auction race here on only start; bred for 7f to 8f; may do better with time as a 3yo. In rear here last week, second-string now with Colin Keane deserting home for Watch Tower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (100/1 +0%)Tariff |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Tariff 100/1, No-show on debut when well beaten in a maiden here on only start; should be effective around 7f to 8f but may need more time to progress. Slowly away and always behind here three weeks ago on debut, can be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (125/1 -25%)Augusta Rock |
125/1(-25%) | (1) Augusta Rock 125/1, Again ran to a moderate level when finishing down the field in a maiden over 8f here last time; from a top course trainer; may need further than 8f on breeding, so this drop in trip may not suit. Down the field in two 1m outings, What About Us has a big chance for the stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (125/1 -25%)Grey Sands |
125/1(-25%) | (3) Grey Sands 125/1, Again ran to a modest level when down the field in a 2yo race over 6f here last time; from a top course trainer; some speed in pedigree but dam was a 1m4f winner; may be better suited to further at three. Has failed to beat a single rival in outings over 1m and 6f, stablemate of What About Us. |

SEOUL FORCE has shown promise on all three outings and may have been found a good opportunity to open his account. The Wootton Bassett colt was placed on debut over this trip at Gowran and may have been unsuited by the testing ground at the Curragh last time. What About Us was supported in the market when making an encouraging introduction over C&D and is an obvious threat. The daughter of Siyouni was prominent throughout when beating all bar Anushka and should benefit from that experience. Watch Tower put in his best work at the finish on both outings over 6f and is likely to be suited by the step up in trip.

The form of the Curragh maiden in which WATCH TOWER (nap) took fifth is convincing enough to give him the vote over What About Us

7/2(+0%) | (1) Ayiko 7/2, Improved effort when third, beaten 2l, in the Novice Handicap Hurdle Series Final (Listed) over 2m7f at Fairyhouse last time; with the trainer in form, he looks a potential threat with improvement expected over fences. Third in 18 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse when last seen and respected on chase debut. |

(2) (10/11 +0%)Henri The Second |
10/11(+0%) | (2) Henri The Second 10/11, May have found the ground too quick when finishing down the field in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham last time; sets form standard on hurdles efforts; returning from a long layoff and is the pick on balance of form. Well beaten in 2023 in sole previous chase but the one to beat judged on hurdling ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/4 +0%)King Of Answers |
11/4(+0%) | (4) King Of Answers 11/4, Never in a rhythm when beaten 5l in a handicap chase over 2m4f here last time; effective from 2½m to 3m, acts on good to soft, but his mark looks stiff and his jumping must improve. Retains potential now back up in trip on second chase start and he's a possible player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (18/1 +0%)Young Jack |
18/1(+0%) | (5) Young Jack 18/1, Outclassed up in grade when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time; returning from a long layoff and plenty more needed. Two-time hurdle winner but has something to find on this chase/seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (22/1 +0%)Kilmore Rock |
22/1(+0%) | (3) Kilmore Rock 22/1, Stopped quickly and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle last time; enjoys making the running and is suited by 3m on decent ground so conditions a concern. Posted h'cap hurdle hat-trick in the spring but out of form last month (including chasing). |

HENRI THE SECOND's previous crack at fences didn't go at all well, but he has since developed into a smart handicap hurdler and had wind surgery during the summer. He is bred to come into his own in this sphere and his trainer has won with four of the five previous runners he has sent to Hexham. Ayiko signed his off last campaign with a fine third in a Listed novice handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse and is an interesting recruit to chasing. King Of Answers should do better having finished last of five on his chasing debut over 2m4f here.

Preference is for KING OF ANSWERS, who is open to improvement now back up in trip on his second chase start. Ayiko is second choice.

(4) (5/6 +49%)Dig Deep |
5/6(+49%) | (4) Dig Deep 5/6, Showed promise on debut when runner-up, beaten 1 1/2l in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Ffos Las; trainer in form, effective at this trip and on soft ground; strong contender on that form. Promising second behind good sort on debut at Ffos Las 22 days ago; sets a solid standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 +13%)Jackpot Cauveliere |
7/2(+13%) | (1) Jackpot Cauveliere 7/2, Made a promising debut when a 20l winner in a maiden over 3m at Lingstown; needs to improve to follow up in this stronger contest on rules debut. Wide-margin winner of Irish point; bought for £100,000 six days later; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (4/1 -129%)Sallyville Lady |
4/1(-129%) | (6) Sallyville Lady 4/1, Made a promising debut when scoring by 10l in a 3m maiden at Ballycrystal; back from a long break but looks a feasible threat if fit for rules debut. Odds-on and won by 10l in sole Irish point (3m, good to yielding); fascinating contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (15/2 +6%)Sogna In Grande |
15/2(+6%) | (3) Sogna In Grande 15/2, Built on debut effort to win a maiden at Ston Easton over 2m4f by 8l last time; back from a long layoff and will need to progress further. Bought for £75,000 after British point win (2m4f, good to firm) in March; likely contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (40/1 -43%)Might As Well |
40/1(-43%) | (5) Might As Well 40/1, 14,000 euros Mahler gelding; half-brother to Noah And The Ark, a very useful performer at 16f. 14,000euros foal by Mahler; family of Moorcroft Boy; worth a market check on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 -79%)Paul Manate |
50/1(-79%) | (2) Paul Manate 50/1, Ran below form when fourth, beaten 28l in a 3m conditions race at Kimble last time; returns after a lengthy absence and looks hard to fancy. 1-4 in British points; best watched on stable/rules debut after nearly 600 days away. |

Point-to-point winner Sallyville Lady is a half-sister to bumper/hurdles winner Pollypockett and needs to be monitored in the market for the in-form Skelton team. However, DIG DEEP finished over two lengths clear of the third when second at Ffos Las and is likely to progress from that display, with the extra furlong not expected to pose him any problems. Any market confidence behind Jackpot Cauveliere would be interesting.

Some interesting newcomers but DIG DEEP recorded an encouraging introduction at Ffos Las last month and sets a solid standard to aim at.

(2) (4/7 +31%)Gee Force Flyer |
4/7(+31%) | (2) Gee Force Flyer 4/7, Made a very promising debut when 4l third in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m and handles ground with cut; debut form looks strong and he's an obvious improver. Irish point winner; kept on well for third over C&D on recent rules debut; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 -64%)Legendary Luke |
9/2(-64%) | (3) Legendary Luke 9/2, Showed greenness under pressure but shaped well on debut when second, beaten 7 1/2l, in an Amateurs' bumper over 2m at Worcester last time. Trainer in form but he has a bit to find. Irish point winner; second in Worcester bumper on recent rules debut; major player here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/2 -10%)Tamarind Bay |
11/2(-10%) | (4) Tamarind Bay 11/2, Made mistakes but ran to form when second, beaten 6 1/2l, in a novice hurdle over 2m7f at Kelso last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 2 3/4m and seems suited by good ground; has generally been in good form. Ran well last week but 0-9 over hurdles now and becoming rather frustrating. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 -13%)Allstitchedup |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Allstitchedup 9/1, Green and made mistakes but showed promise when 17l third in a maiden hurdle here on his latest start. This is his second run since a wind operation; effective at 2 1/2m and likely to stay 3m in time with further improvement expected. Very encouraging third over C&D on recent hurdling debut. |

Tamarind Bay sets the standard with an official rating of 113 and can be expected to run his race, but LEGENDARY LUKE shades preference. The point-to-point winner, whose dam is a half-sister to Gold Cup hero Native River, appeared to bump into one at Worcester on his Rules bow. There was no disgrace in finishing second and any improvement now sent over hurdles could be enough. Gee Force Flyer can get the better of Allstitchedup for third.

The suggestion is GEE FORCE FLYER, who probably didn't have the race run to suit his patient tactics when third over C&D last month.

(5) (3/1 +0%)Una Matata |
3/1(+0%) | (5) Una Matata 3/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 53 here last time; effective 7/8f, acts on all-weather; on a fair mark if building on recent revival. Won a turf maiden on last year, has returned to form recently, has changed stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 -13%)Fleetfootsoldier |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Fleetfootsoldier 9/2, Improved when dropped in grade to win a claimer here over 8f by a neck last time; effective 8-10f, acts on all-weather; more required now back in a handicap. Won course 1m claimer for Natalia Lupini last time, unconvincing handicap form before that. |

(3) (11/2 +45%)Distillate |
11/2(+45%) | (3) Distillate 11/2, Scored by 1 1/2l off 53 at Laytown in September; ran to form when fourth last time; effective 6/7f, acts on all-weather; in good form and mark looks fair. Only 1/2l behind today's rival Eric Lock last time, that rival appeals more on balance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (8/1 +11%)Shelbourne Flyer |
8/1(+11%) | (10) Shelbourne Flyer 8/1, Had every chance but below form when beaten 10l in a handicap at Down Royal last time; in good form prior; effective 7f, acts on all-weather; still a maiden. Some good 7f turf runs in the summer, has to bounce back from a below-par Down Royal run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (17/2 -70%)Eric Lock |
17/2(-70%) | (7) Eric Lock 17/2, Ran to form when 4l third in a handicap here most recently; trainer in form; effective up to 8f, acts on all-weather; mark looks workable. Has put in creditable displays over C&D, the last two behind the in-form Nikki Swango. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (17/2 -21%)Pete's Dream |
17/2(-21%) | (1) Pete's Dream 17/2, Bit below form when the ground was too deep, beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap over 8f at the Curragh last time; suited by 7f, acts on soft and good to firm; inconsistent. Failed to build on an early-season second on soft at Tipperary, no AW experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (9/1 -20%)Lorr's Girl |
9/1(-20%) | (11) Lorr's Girl 9/1, Made late headway but a bit below best when fourth, beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap here latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 7/8f, acts on sound surface; showing signs of a return to form. Has won only one of her 21 starts, has shown enough lately to suggest a place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +13%)Sakakawea |
14/1(+13%) | (6) Sakakawea 14/1, Another no-show tried in blinkers when down the field in a handicap at Galway most recently; cheekpieces first time; top course jockey booked; effective 6f, inconsistent of late. Best form on soft ground at sprint distances, trainer had a recent double over jumps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (28/1 -56%)Chica Power |
28/1(-56%) | (13) Chica Power 28/1, Below form when beaten 5l in a handicap over 6f at Sligo last time; effective at 7f, acts on all-weather; may need this first run since May. Weak form since 2023 C&D claimer win, has plunged in the ratings, worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (40/1 -150%)Exceeding |
40/1(-150%) | (12) Exceeding 40/1, Below form, may have needed the run when beaten 6l in a handicap over 8f here last time; effective at 8f, acts on all-weather; could do better this time. 1-23, the win coming in a 1m Bellewstown handicap in July, in rear over 1m here on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (40/1 -21%)Lahore Da King |
40/1(-21%) | (8) Lahore Da King 40/1, Bit below form, poorly placed in a race dominated from the front when beaten 7l in a handicap at Gowran Park last time; has shown minor promise at 1m and the handicapper is easing. Gowran seventh of 16 was a small step in the right direction, gelded since, makes AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (50/1 +0%)Miss Princess |
50/1(+0%) | (9) Miss Princess 50/1, Again below suspect maiden form when beaten 6l in a handicap over 6f here last time; bred for speed; down again in the weights but has achieved little so far. Modest form including at sprint trips here, not an obvious one but relatively unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (66/1 -65%)Storm Eric |
66/1(-65%) | (2) Storm Eric 66/1, No-show down in trip when well beaten in a handicap here most recently; usually held up; effective 8-10f; out of form and hard to fancy. Three-time course winner has looked completely out of form lately, up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (66/1 -65%)Dark Willow |
66/1(-65%) | (14) Dark Willow 66/1, Again below form when beaten 8l in a handicap over 6f at the Curragh last time; effective 6-8f; makes all-weather debut. Has never reached the first three and lacks a recent run, fair fourth at Roscommon in May. |

Emily Grifferty rode her first winner here last Friday when Syosset caused a 50/1 shock and she may add to her tally aboard ERIC LOCK. The Noel Meade-trained gelding won over the trip at Down Royal earlier this year and Grifferty has been aboard when placed on his latest three starts over C&D. He is closely matched with both Una Matata and Distillate on running behind the progressive Nikki Swango here recently. Fleetfootsoldier won three times for Kevin Coleman back in 2023 and was claimed out of Natalia Lupini's yard after returning to winning form over a mile here.

Very slight preference is for UNA MATATA over Eric Lock. The pair are closely matched on running here three weeks ago

(3) (2/1 +0%)Betterforeveryone |
2/1(+0%) | (3) Betterforeveryone 2/1, Improved again when suited by a positive ride down in trip, landing a handicap by 3/4l off 112 over 3m at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Effective from 3m to 4m, acts on soft and good ground, and remains progressive. Won over C&D in March; unexposed at marathon trips and there's lots to like. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 +0%)Fairlawn Flyer |
7/2(+0%) | (1) Fairlawn Flyer 7/2, Made a bit too much use of when third, beaten 21l, in a handicap chase over 3m5f at Sedgefield on latest run. Effective over 3m+, acts on soft but suited by decent ground. Progressive through the summer, though current mark demands more. Won the Highland National over 3m6f in April and could improve for last month's outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 +0%)Shighness |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Shighness 10/1, Outpaced, needed the run, and was outclassed when comfortably held in the Houghton Mares' Chase (Listed) over 2m4f at Carlisle last time. Effective over 3m+, and should benefit from this drop in grade. A lot more down than up in 2025 but she went close over this C&D in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (13/2 +0%)Pinot Rouge |
13/2(+0%) | (2) Pinot Rouge 13/2, Outpaced and unsuited by the drop in trip on chase return when fourth, beaten 9 1/4l, in a 2m4f handicap chase here last time. Prefers 3m or further. Inconsistent, but has a fair chase mark based on hurdle form. Has hinted a few times that a marathon trip may suit and she's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (22/1 +0%)Don Brocco |
22/1(+0%) | (6) Don Brocco 22/1, Pulled up in a 3m handicap chase here on latest start. Effective at 3m+ and suited by cut in the ground, though current mark may still be on the high side. 2l third over C&D in March but 8lb out of the handicap today and pulled up recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (5/2 +9%)Wal Buck's |
5/2(+9%) | (5) Wal Buck's 5/2, Needed the run and was not given a hard time when fourth, beaten 13l, in a 3m2f handicap chase at Kelso last time. Effective around 3m and acts on soft ground. Expected to build on that reappearance effort up in trip. Looked all about stamina in his novice campaign and could relish this step up in trip. |

BETTERFOREVERYONE accounted for Shighness over C&D in March before picking up where he left off at Bangor on his return. The latter was out of her depth at Listed level recently but is weighted to reverse the form, although Alan King's gelding still looks worth sticking with. Fairlawn Flyer has risen through the handicap ranks since embarking on a winning spree at Market Rasen in March, but he needs to find a bit more now and Wal Buck's might be a bigger threat.

The 6yo WAL BUCK'S could relish the step up to a marathon trip and he's the selection ahead of C&D winner Betterforeveryone.

Scored on chase debut/reappearance last month; unexposed and step up in trip can suit. |

(6) (7/2 +13%)Another Folly |
7/2(+13%) | (6) Another Folly 7/2, Jumped well and ran to form when landing a handicap by 2l off a mark of 100 over 2m7f at Stratford last time; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and in fine form but conditions a concern. Off the mark over fences latest; drops in trip but should make another bold bid up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (6/1 +63%)Thruthelookinglass |
6/1(+63%) | (5) Thruthelookinglass 6/1, Probably needed the race when fourth, beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Wincanton last time; returning from a long layoff and needs to improve. Lightly raced 8yo who makes chase debut after another break; market may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (7/1 -75%)Dunskay |
7/1(-75%) | (4) Dunskay 7/1, Below form when 42l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Southwell on latest start; trainer in good form; wears a tongue-tie for the first time and looks a value selection on balance of form. Good mark on bumper form; underwhelming over hurdles; h'cap/chse debut; heed market clues. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/1 +0%)Duhallow Tommy |
11/1(+0%) | (1) Duhallow Tommy 11/1, Well held by less exposed rivals when comfortably beaten in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Worcester last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft and good ground; generally consistent before latest run. Hasn't added to early hat-trick over fences and beaten a long way latest; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (18/1 -125%)Icare Colombe |
18/1(-125%) | (2) Icare Colombe 18/1, Below form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Doncaster last time; returning from a long layoff and has a bit to find on recent efforts starting out over fences. Fair form in 2 of 3 hurdle starts; handicap/chase debut and bred to do better over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 -300%)Mavis Pike |
22/1(-300%) | (7) Mavis Pike 22/1, Fell when still in contention in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Fakenham last time; effective at 2m, well treated up 1lb, and progressing over fences. Running much better until falling at the final fence last time; contender after 1lb nudge. |

The further CHUGGY went at Uttoxeter, the stronger he looked. That was his fencing bow and a 6lb rise should be no barrier to further success, nor should the different conditions given that his siblings, most notably leading Champion Hurdle fancy The New Lion, have handled soft ground. Dan Skelton's charge is expected to prove too strong for Stratford victor Another Folly and Dunskay, who tries fences for the first time.

The vote goes to CHUGGY, who appeals as the sort to progress again over this longer trip.

7/4(+13%) | (4) El Bandido Pancho 7/4, Quickened clear cosily and improved again when landing a handicap by 7l off 81 here last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and suited by soft conditions; progressive and should build on that success. Drew clear to score by 7l over C&D last week; commands respect under 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (3/1 +40%)Glengolly |
3/1(+40%) | (7) Glengolly 3/1, Well backed but possibly did not stay when fourth, beaten 11l, in a 3m handicap hurdle here last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and should benefit from a drop in trip. Ran well before weakening into fourth here (3m) in April but now 0-11 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (4/1 +0%)Leech |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Leech 4/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 8l, in a 2m handicap hurdle here last time. Effective between 2m and 2 1/2m and suited by soft ground; in fair form and should come on for the latest effort. 0-8 over hurdles but ran fairly well over 2m last month and is worth another crack at 2m4f. |

9/2(+10%) | (2) Sparkling Duke 9/2, Ran to form when winning a 3m maiden point at Maisemore Park by 1 1/4l last time; looks best suited by further. 0-8 over hurdles but won a point in March and Sean Bowen is a booked today. |

(6) (10/1 -18%)Dance In The Park |
10/1(-18%) | (6) Dance In The Park 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon last time when returning from a long layoff. Effective at 2m and acts on any going but currently in poor form. Pulled up when 40-1 for handicap debut in February but now with a new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (28/1 +15%)Kap De Triomphe |
28/1(+15%) | (5) Kap De Triomphe 28/1, May have found the ground too fast when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Worcester last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time; effective over 2 1/2m and prefers soft ground but currently out of form. Absent since heavy defeat in May and now 0-7 over hurdles; cheekpieces tried today. |

Sparkling Duke makes his first start for the Kayley Woollacott yard and the booking of Sean Bowen catches the eye. However, EL BANDIDO PANCHO was a convincing seven-length victor over track and trip 10 days ago and if in anything like that form, he will prove hard to beat again. Leech kept on for fourth over 2m here last month and is likely to appreciate the step back up in trip.

The most obvious answer is EL BANDIDO PANCHO, who made all for a convincing C&D success ten days ago.

Effective over 5f to 6f and acts on the all-weather, though the wide draw is a concern. Encouraging run here last month at 6f; cheekpieces fitted; wide draw a negative. |

14/1(+58%) | (10) Luna Beaux 14/1, Again below maiden form when beaten 8l in a nursery over 6f at the Curragh last time. Should be effective sprinting but is difficult to fancy on current evidence. Stiff task last time from out of handicap; remains potential improver on AW debut. |

40/1(+20%) | (17) Carnival Spirit 40/1, Too keen and failed to stay when beaten 7 1/2l in a nursery over 8f here last time. Bred for speed and should benefit from the drop back in trip. Too keen and 11lb wrong here five days ago; runs off correct mark now; reserve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (80/1 -100%)Dream Legend |
80/1(-100%) | (9) Dream Legend 80/1, Ran to form when finishing down the field in a maiden here last time. Has speed in his pedigree but has yet to show any meaningful ability. Poor maiden form, most recently over C&D; hard to make a case for on handicap debut. |

The combination of a step up to this trip and prominent riding tactics proved just the trick for ENTHUSIASTICALLY when successful over C&D. The Donnacha O'Brien-trained filly beat Monvoe by half a length and that rival rates a serious threat on the revised terms, although Paddy Harnett's 5lb claim will help ease the burden on the top-weight, who has a favourable low draw. Saxon Grace showed improved form when switched to this surface last week and is another to consider along with Royal County Glory, who was also placed over 6f here last time.

Remaining in this 0-60 bracket after a recent C&D success ENTHUSIASTICALLY can follow up here and confirm the form with Monvoe

5/2(+0%) | (2) King Of Cong 5/2, Returned to form when back over fences and up in trip, beaten 2¼l off 92 over 3m here last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m and acts on heavy and good to soft ground; fairly treated if building on that revival. Rediscovered spark in these cheekpieces (retained) when runner-up here 12 days ago. |

(9) (6/1 +0%)Lewa House |
6/1(+0%) | (9) Lewa House 6/1, Ran to form but tired late after several errors, beaten 10l in a 3m handicap chase at Ayr last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m and handles soft and good to soft ground; in form but has a poor strike rate. Runner-up twice earlier this year and could build on recent comeback fifth; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/4 +0%)Heeztheboy |
7/4(+0%) | (3) Heeztheboy 7/4, Won by 15l off 81 here on his penultimate start and ran to form when second, beaten 1½l off 90 last time. The trainer is in form; effective between 2m and 2½m and handles heavy and good to soft ground; in fine form this autumn and remains competitive. In fine form since joining this yard, including C&D win, and he's firmly in calculations. |

(6) (11/1 +0%)Gibberwell |
11/1(+0%) | (6) Gibberwell 11/1, Fell early in a 3m handicap chase here latest. Effective at 3m and beyond; an inconsistent veteran who goes well at Hexham may find this on the sharp side. Has won twice over 3m here but the drop back in trip isn't an obvious plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/1 +0%)Tory Hill |
16/1(+0%) | (5) Tory Hill 16/1, Below form when up in trip on chase debut, well beaten in a 3m handicap chase at Ayr latest. Returning from a long layoff; tongue-tie on for the first time; yet to show much under rules. Yet to threaten under rules but this four-time point runner-up is not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (16/1 +0%)Knightphase |
16/1(+0%) | (11) Knightphase 16/1, Pulled up in a 2m7f handicap chase at Kelso latest. Effective at 3m; a 3m point winner who has yet to show any worthwhile form under rules. Point winner who remains lightly raced but was pulled up on recent chase/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (25/1 +0%)Red Ned |
25/1(+0%) | (8) Red Ned 25/1, Continued in poor form when well beaten in a 3m handicap hurdle at Ayr latest. Cheekpieces applied for the first time; open to marked improvement now chasing. Runner-up on bumper debut; hasn't kicked on from that; cheekpieces added for chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (25/1 +0%)Stowaway John |
25/1(+0%) | (10) Stowaway John 25/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a 3m1f handicap chase at Carlisle most recently. Returning from a long break; usually held up; effective around 2½m and acts on any ground; inconsistent performer. C&D winner but well beaten on both starts last winter and this 11yo has been absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (25/1 +0%)Cudgel |
25/1(+0%) | (12) Cudgel 25/1, Below form and failed to stay when down the field in a 3m handicap chase here most recent. Effective from 2m to 2½m and suited by soft ground; goes well at Hexham but currently out of form. Six-time course winner but this 12yo was unable to get competitive during last campaign. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (40/1 +0%)Paramaribo |
40/1(+0%) | (7) Paramaribo 40/1, Pulled up in a 2m3f handicap chase at Sedgefield latest. Effective around 2½m and handles softer ground; needs to prove ability remains after a layoff. Won a point-to-point in March but pulled up at Sedgefield recently on chase/seasonal debut. |

Those near the top of the handicap should garner the most attention and it looks best to side with HEEZTHEBOY. Gary Hanmer's charge returned with a facile C&D triumph before finding only a chasing debutant too strong at Uttoxeter, and a further 2lb rise might underestimate him. King Of Cong is expected to benefit from a drop in trip and could be thereabouts, while Lewa House is also noted at a venue where he has run well previously.

In fine form since joining Gary Hanmer, HEEZTHEBOY is taken to record his second C&D win of the autumn.

Mid-division both handicaps but unexposed and suspicion he's capable of better; hooded now. |

10/3(+52%) | (7) Gwennie May Star 10/3, From a yard that won this last year; outpaced and jumped poorly when needing the run after a wind operation, comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee last time; trainer in form; second run after wind op following a short break. Left Dan Skelton after some poor efforts; watch the market on this stable debut. |

(5) (13/2 -117%)Getaway Theatre |
13/2(-117%) | (5) Getaway Theatre 13/2, Landed a handicap by 1¼l off 107 over 3m at Chepstow last time when returning from a long layoff; effective from 2½m to 3m and suited by plenty of cut; still looks on a generous mark and could follow up. Won in February (3m, soft); considered off 3lb higher on her reappearance. |

11/1(-300%) | (2) Thankyourluckystar 11/1, Went clear with ease and improved for a stiffer track when landing a handicap by 15l off 106 over 2m7f at Worcester last time; effective from 2½m to 3m on good ground; recent form strong. Wide-margin win under Harry Skelton in May; handicapper's had a say, but still respected. |

(3) (14/1 -17%)I'm A Starman |
14/1(-17%) | (3) I'm A Starman 14/1, Had every chance but ran below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Exeter latest; effective at 3m on good ground; handicapper may have caught up. 4-timer included C&D win in May; back down the weights but was tailed off last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (22/1 -38%)Sporting Ace |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Sporting Ace 22/1, Outpaced and failed to travel when down the field in a handicap chase at Ffos Las most recently; fair mark on chase form and may contend if sharper. Surrey National winner last term over fences; market support would help for hurdles return. |

Thankyourluckystar bolted up at Worcester in May and must be treated with the utmost respect given that he remains unexposed over staying trips, but an 11lb rise will demand more of him and GETAWAY THEATRE could be the value. Stuart Edmunds' mare signed off last season with a win at Chepstow and remains well treated from 3lb higher. She, too, is open to improvement at this distance and so is Murphy's Milan, who could fare better in a first-time hood.

Plenty need considering but CATCH CATCHFIRE is unexposed in this sphere and can make a winning reappearance.

(2) (16/5 +51%)A Great Excuse |
16/5(+51%) | (2) A Great Excuse 16/5, Bit below form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Taunton last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time and returns from a long layoff. In the mix if sharper for the outing starting out over fences. Displayed promise in maiden hurdles last season; now handicap chasing for new stable. |

(4) (8/1 +20%)Dj Pete |
8/1(+20%) | (4) Dj Pete 8/1, Fell in a 2m1f handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and had been in fair form in spring. May just need this outing to regain sharpness. Ten-race maiden; posted some good efforts on good ground in spring; untested on soft. |

(7) (10/1 +70%)Jaunty Viking |
10/1(+70%) | (7) Jaunty Viking 10/1, Found little when comfortably held in a 3m handicap chase here last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on any ground, yet to convince as a chaser. Travelled well for a long way over 3m here last month; worth a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +22%)Bossofthebus |
14/1(+22%) | (6) Bossofthebus 14/1, Pulled up in a 2m handicap chase at Hereford last time. Effective around 2½m and handles soft conditions. Has plenty to prove over fences at this stage. Ex-Irish 6yo; struggled on both starts for new stable this autumn. |

(5) (16/1 +36%)Ballywood |
16/1(+36%) | (5) Ballywood 16/1, Ran to current form when fourth, beaten 15l, in a 2m handicap chase here last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on soft or good ground but remains out of form. Ran well from the front when fourth here recently but remains winless since 2019. |

(8) (22/1 -57%)Imperial Measure |
22/1(-57%) | (8) Imperial Measure 22/1, Made mistakes and ran well below form when comfortably held in a 2m6f handicap chase at Fontwell last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Needs at least 2m4f and must return to his summer form, though the handicapper is easing off. Competes off career-low mark here but needs a good boost from the new cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (25/1 -56%)Ballybeen |
25/1(-56%) | (3) Ballybeen 25/1, Failed to find much when well beaten in a 2m7f handicap chase at Stratford last time. Trainer in form, and while effective around 2½m and acts on any ground, his recent form has tailed off and he has plenty to prove. Disappointed on sole start for Sam Thomas last term and made low-key yard debut last month. |

Jaipaletemps is bound to attract support after scoring easily over 2m here but a 7lb penalty, along with the step up in distance, might open the door for A GREAT EXCUSE. The five-year-old has shown little in four outings under Rules, but was sent off at big prices and now makes his handicap/chase debut on his first appearance for the Max Comley stable. The application of first-time cheekpieces could also help eke out more. Dj Pete completes the shortlist.

The speculative selection is JAUNTY VIKING, who didn't run anything like as badly as his 64l defeat might suggest here last month.

(1) (9/4 -29%)Ballintogher |
9/4(-29%) | (1) Ballintogher 9/4, Well below form when tried in cheekpieces and comfortably held in a maiden here last time; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather; needs to bounce back. Had an excuse here last month, will be hard to beat if restored to form. |

(3) (5/2 +29%)Woolridge |
5/2(+29%) | (3) Woolridge 5/2, Ran to form dropped in trip when second, beaten 1/2l in a maiden over 5f here last time; effective from 5f to 7f on this surface; cheekpieces helped last time and are retained. Has shown a fair standard of form on turf and in three AW outings at different trips. |

(5) (10/3 -11%)Heaven's Wish |
10/3(-11%) | (5) Heaven's Wish 10/3, Similar level to debut when second, beaten a neck in a claimer here last time; effective at 6f on all-weather; has a fair chance in a weak race. 69-rated filly may improve enough to trouble the 77-rated gelding Ballintogher. |

(6) (10/1 -200%)Shamanka |
10/1(-200%) | (6) Shamanka 10/1, Ran to form beaten 4l in an auction race over 7f here last time; trainer in form; effective at 7f, acts on AW; drop in trip may suit on this first run since March. Some decent runs in defeat over 7f at this venue, twice placed including in a claimer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (28/1 -27%)Harry Longabaugh |
28/1(-27%) | (2) Harry Longabaugh 28/1, Ran to a similar level as on debut when beaten 8l in a maiden over 8f at Roscommon last time; effective at 6f and likely to need more time. Curragh debut over 6f was better than subsequent Roscommon over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (66/1 -32%)A Lady Called Sue |
66/1(-32%) | (4) A Lady Called Sue 66/1, Sioux Nation filly, full-sister to Uwoduhi Adanvto, who was fair at 6f; dam moderate at 9f; wears blinkers for the first time and faces a tough task on debut. Closely related to an Italian winner over a staying trip; dam maiden, blinkered for debut. |

Ballintogher boasts the best form having been placed twice on turf, including when just denied at Navan last month. However, the Danny Murphy-trained gelding proved a very disappointing favourite over C&D subsequently and the jury is certainly out on his suitability to this surface. By contrast, SHAMANKA has only raced at this venue and has been placed twice. She is from the family of Slade Power and could well be suited by this drop back to 6f. Heaven's Wish was just denied in a maiden claimer over C&D and is another to consider along with Woolridge.

Reported to be blowing hard after a disappointing run here last month, BALLINTOGHER is worth another chance on his previous Navan run

9/4(+0%) | (4) No Walkover 9/4, Promising debut when runner-up beaten a neck in a maiden over 3m at Lisronagh on only start; has a lot to find. Made a very promising Irish point debut in February; needs to be taken very seriously. |

(5) (25/1 +0%)Ratemenow |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Ratemenow 25/1, Promising debut when 19l third in a bumper here on most recent run; should improve for that initial experience and is likely to get further in time. Shaped with significant promise when third over C&D this month but needs improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (250/1 +0%)Strathcatcha |
250/1(+0%) | (7) Strathcatcha 250/1, Poor run when well beaten in a bumper at Kelso latest; off a short break; yet to show anything under rules. Struggled in two good-ground bumpers during the summer and cannot be recommended. |

Dan Skelton has his string in fine fettle and Worcester winner Trigg could go close under a penalty, although the placed horses haven't really been able to frank the form so it could pay to side with TEA BOY. Peter Atkinson doesn't have many in his care but that hasn't stopped him so far this season, sending out four winners from eight runners. His representative was beaten on debut by one who went on to contest a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last weekend and looks up to this. No Walkover is another to note.

The most interesting runner is David Pipe's new recruit NO WALKOVER, who made a very promising Irish point debut in February.

(4) (4/1 -14%)Bobbi's Beauty |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Bobbi's Beauty 4/1, Travelled smoothly and returned to her best when allowed to dominate at a sharp track, landing a handicap by 3¼l off 91 at Taunton last time; effective from 2m to 2½m; capable when getting an easy lead but inconsistent. Won in March when last seen; 5lb higher but one of the more likely ones if ready to go. |

(1) (7/1 -180%)Kykorock |
7/1(-180%) | (1) Kykorock 7/1, Never put into the race on his final qualifying run but improved when stepped up in trip, finishing 11l third in a novice hurdle over 2m3f here on his most recent start; a potential threat with more to come over fences. Low-key stuff under rules but this point winner may do better now handicapping over fences. |

(8) (28/1 0%)Chief O'hara |
28/1(0%) | (8) Chief O'hara 28/1, Made mistakes and produced a poor chase debut when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Hereford last time; trainer in form but yet to show any ability. Poor form under rules; easily opposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (50/1 -178%)Boom Boom |
50/1(-178%) | (6) Boom Boom 50/1, Found little when well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Stratford last time; effective from 2m to 2m3f and prefers a sound surface; on a stiff mark and saves his best for Stratford. Dual chase winner but big defeat last time; soft ground would raise a concern too. |

KYKOROCK made little impact in three novice hurdle runs but the Skeltons have wasted little time in sending him over fences, which could be a tip in itself. The point-to-point winner doesn't look too harshly treated from an opening mark of 100 and the team does well here. Bobbi's Beauty is three from seven over the larger obstacles and looks a real threat, as does Superstylin, who should benefit from a return to chasing.

Most of these have some sort of question to answer and in the circumstances DROMLAC JURY (nap) looks the safest play.

14/1(-40%) | (2) Walkinthecotswolds 14/1, Fell in a handicap chase over 2m3f here last time; returning from a long layoff but generally consistent in this sphere. Made all at Chepstow in January; absent since mid-race fall on chasing debut in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (22/1 -214%)Hellfire Princess |
22/1(-214%) | (3) Hellfire Princess 22/1, Did not find much and needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f here last time; effective around 2½m but form has tailed off recently. Returned from latest layoff with tame effort here last month; others have less to prove. |

Followango has occupied the runner-up spot in eight of her 15 starts under Rules, most recently over fences at Hereford, and SOMETHINGTOSOMEONE might be the reason she fills that place again. Ben Clarke's mare was last seen taking the silver medal home over 2m4f at this track in March and has undergone a wind operation during her summer break. She should have more to offer on just her second outing in a handicap. Lady Harriett is another to note.

This looks a good opportunity for FOLLOWANGO (nap), who has posted two good efforts this autumn and has conditions in her favour today.

(6) (50/1 -79%)Hurricane Helen |
50/1(-79%) | (6) Hurricane Helen 50/1, Made no impression after a slow start when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective 8-10f, handles this surface; hard to fancy. Never counted after slow start over C&D last time so needs to improve plenty; good draw. |

Recent C&D winner MOYASSR can follow up off 6lb higher. Well supported when landing a tidy gamble, the Paul Flynn-trained gelding remains nicely handicapped on his best form. Clearly a better horse on the all-weather than grass, the four-year-old doesn't look unduly burdened off a revised mark of 63. Runner-up here last month, Comfort Line has to hold leading claims. A six-time winner on an artificial surface, the eight-year-old has slipped back to a favourable rating. Benavente had rather lost his way before being rejuvenated in recent starts. Narrowly denied in a claimer last time, he has every chance of going close again.

Recent C&D winner MOYASSR can follow up off a 6lb higher mark

Arrives on a hat-trick after two wins at Bath; up 5lb but well in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (50/1 -127%)Dapper Gee Gee |
50/1(-127%) | (12) Dapper Gee Gee 50/1, Improved a little back down in trip under a positive ride when second beaten 1/2l in a claimer over 7f at Leicester latest; appears best at 7f, acts on AW; in form and respected. Good runner-up in Leicester claimer latest; can make his presence felt back in handicaps. |

Atmosphere showed a lot more in a first-time visor to strike over C&D and is well drawn in stall two. The hat-trick seeking Albus Anne is noted, but it may pay to side with WILHELMINA. The daughter of New Bay only found one too good in a class 4 at Wolverhampton and is just 1lb higher. This is just her fourth appearance in a handicap so improvement is anticipated.

Three-time C&D scorer TOP OF THE CLASS is primed for another bold showing here following her promising Southwell fourth after an absence

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (16/1 +60%)Aingeal Dorcha |
16/1(+60%) | (8) Aingeal Dorcha 16/1, Below form when dropped in trip and down the field in an 8f handicap at Gowran Park most recently. Effective from 9-11f but needs to show how much ability remains after a lay-off. Yet to hit form since August return; belatedly tries the AW off much reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (25/1 -39%)Battle Borne |
25/1(-39%) | (3) Battle Borne 25/1, A bit below form when stepped up in trip and beaten 9l in a handicap here last time. Effective from 7-9f; stamina remains to be proven. Very lightly raced 3yo never sighted after slow start over this trip a week ago. |

(1) (33/1 -50%)Jazz Forever |
33/1(-50%) | (1) Jazz Forever 33/1, Below form back on the Flat when down the field in a 12f handicap here most recently. Effective at 10/11f and handles the all-weather, but has a bit to prove. Below form of late, too keen here 12 days ago on comeback run; more expected of. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 +0%)Milverton |
33/1(+0%) | (5) Milverton 33/1, Ran to his recent level when beaten 6l in a Down Royal handicap last time. Should be effective around 10f but needs to find improvement. Maiden not getting any nearer in handicaps; only second start on AW but hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (50/1 -127%)Hell Left Loose |
50/1(-127%) | (13) Hell Left Loose 50/1, Won by 7l off 40 over 8f at Gowran Park three starts ago but found little and ran below form last time. Effective from 6-8f and acts on the all-weather; remains on a workable mark. 0-11 at this track, well held here a fortnight ago over 7f; marked step up in trip now. |

(10) (66/1 -267%)La Campanella |
66/1(-267%) | (10) La Campanella 66/1, Again well held when dropped in trip and down the field in a 7f maiden at Galway most recently. Should be effective from 8-10f and could improve now handicapping. Lightly raced 3yo having AW/handicap debut with no obvious claims; good draw though. |

(15) (66/1 -32%)Bella Boyne |
66/1(-32%) | (15) Bella Boyne 66/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 7l in a 7f handicap here last time. Cheekpieces applied for the first time; yet to show anything over 7-10f and has plenty to prove. No impact as yet in handicaps, 2lb wrong here; reserve. |

TERO D'ROSA can open his account on what is only his second start on this surface. Having previously looked somewhat disappointing on grass, the Galileo Chrome gelding took a significant step forward on his all-weather debut when third over C&D. Entitled to be all the better for that experience, the Ross O'Sullivan-trained three-year-old looks the one to beat. Runner-up here in a claimer last time, Rock Basher has to be of interest on his first start for new connections. Although subsequently raised 10lb, the six-year-old has run well off this sort of mark in the past. Anightaway needs to improve, but is one to note on his handicap debut.

A good third in the fog over C&D a fortnight ago, TERO D'ROSA can confirm that form with Celtic Druid and Rising Sky

SUGGY put three underwhelming efforts in maiden/novice company behind him when finishing second on his nursery debut at Bath and only has a 1lb higher mark to contend with. If the son of Sergei Prokofiev can back that performance up, he could be the one to beat. Superstorm wasn't disgraced in third over 7f at Southwell and may improve for this step up in trip, although his draw is a concern. Raging Raj is another to consider.

Progressive SUPERSTORM caught the eye when staying on into third at Southwell last time and gets the vote up in trip

(12) (66/1 -267%)Albion Princess |
66/1(-267%) | (12) Albion Princess 66/1, Raced wide and below form when dropped in trip, finishing down the field in a handicap over 8f at Roscommon most recently. Effective at 10f to 11f; return to this trip may help. All-the-way C&D winner in April; back from summer break and dangerous if getting soft lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (80/1 -21%)Nyota |
80/1(-21%) | (9) Nyota 80/1, Again well below form when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective from 8f to 10f; hood removed, cheekpieces reapplied. Soundly beaten over C& last twice; reduced mark but remains opposable. |

Runner-up over C&D last time, THOMPSON GUNNER can go one place better. Although yet to get his head in front in 13 starts, the Cian Hughes-trained gelding has reached the frame here on three occasions. Nicely berthed under Colin Keane, the son of Highland Reel looks to have bright prospects of finally registering a first career success. Sarmiento Power landed a huge gamble here in September and has remained competitive in subsequent starts. Although arguably better over further, he has every chance in this company. C&D winner Albion Princess has to be respected back on the all-weather after a disappointing effort on grass when last seen in May.

Not many appeal, but SARMIENTO POWER remains of interest back in trip, the 4yo's C&D second two starts back having been franked since

5/1(+0%) | (12) Guesstimate 5/1, Fair debut third when beaten 8l in a novice over 7f at Newmarket on debut; trainer in form; should improve up in trip. Newmarket 3rd probably gives her the best form chance in this, albeit not a high standard. |

Marseillan was beaten five lengths into second over 6f at Pontefract and may improve for this step up in trip. However, GUESSTIMATE showed ability when third on debut at Newmarket and could have lots more to come. The daughter of Sea The Moon should appreciate this extra furlong and can get off the mark. Mythical Valentine changed hands for 60,000gns as a yearling and warrants a market check.

The four who have run do not set a high standard but BRIDGE OF EAGLES is tentatively preferred to Guesstimate.

10/1(-233%) | (10) Ready To Mingle 10/1, Had the run of the race and ran to form when second, beaten 1 1/2l in a 7f maiden here last time; effective 7f, acts on all-weather; form has had knocks and needs more up significantly in trip. Second to a stablemate of Matrice over 7f here a fortnight ago, not sure to last out 1m4f. |

(6) (11/1 +31%)Dior Noir |
11/1(+31%) | (6) Dior Noir 11/1, Again ran to a modest level when down the field in a maiden at the Curragh last time; has speed in her pedigree but appears to want middle distances; low-grade handicaps look more her level. Three 1m4f runs at the Curragh, would get 9lb from Matrice in a handicap, up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (20/1 +9%)Clementines Dream |
20/1(+9%) | (5) Clementines Dream 20/1, No show up in trip when tried in new headgear and beaten 9l in a handicap here last time; best form to date at 7f and breeding suggests middle distances should suit; bit to prove back in a maiden. Never a threat on handicap debut over C&D, plenty to prove against higher-rated rivals. |

(4) (28/1 -133%)A Pearl Starling |
28/1(-133%) | (4) A Pearl Starling 28/1, Below form on handicap debut when comfortably held in an 11f handicap here last time; wears cheekpieces for the first time; effective 10–12f, acts on all-weather; looks vulnerable back in a maiden tried in cheekpieces. Ordinary maiden form, sixth of ten on AW/handicap debut last Friday, needs to find more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (250/1 -67%)Knockmark Angel |
250/1(-67%) | (3) Knockmark Angel 250/1, Again ran to a moderate level when down the field in a maiden over 8f here last time; yet to find suitable conditions and likely to need more time and a longer trip. Beaten a long way in two bumpers; has struggled in two Flat runs including here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (250/1 -25%)Keep It Together |
250/1(-25%) | (2) Keep It Together 250/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Wexford last time; looks a no-hoper on this Flat debut. No encouragement from her form in four bumpers and four maiden hurdles, pulled up latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (300/1 -20%)Inver Bay |
300/1(-20%) | (1) Inver Bay 300/1, Poor Flat debut when down the field in a maiden over 11f here last time; usually held up; has speed in her pedigree but needs to settle better and looks a no-hoper. Well beaten in three bumpers and a maiden hurdle, last of 14 at this on Flat debut. |

Despite failing to win from seven attempts to date, MATRICE is worth another chance. Narrowly beaten here last week, the Joseph O'Brien-trained filly is fitted with first-time cheekpieces, should benefit from stepping back up in trip, and will get few better opportunities to land her maiden. Ready To Mingle takes a considerable step up in trip on what is only her fourth start. Yet to even race over a mile, it is interesting that connections have elected to go this far. Lily Parr could be capable of better on her all-weather debut.

It is a concern that MATRICE was beaten by a lower-rated rival here last Friday. However, she can make amends over this longer trip.

4/1(-78%) | (3) Silver Peak 4/1, Built on novice win when fourth beaten 6l in Autumn Stakes (Group 3) at Newmarket latest; trainer in form but coming off a long absence; effective at 8f, acts on GS; retains plenty of potential. 14/1(+36%) | (7) Supido 14/1, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/2l off 95 at Southwell last time; effective over 7f and 8f, acts on the all-weather; needs a bit more but has eased again in the weights. Not discredited when fifth at Southwell 19 days ago; shortlisted on first go on Polytrack. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (28/1 -12%)Notimeforchitchat |
28/1(-12%) | (10) Notimeforchitchat 28/1, Bit below form when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time; in good form prior; cheekpieces first time; wide draw; effective at 8f and best on the all-weather; requires a decent pace. Dual C&D scorer who arrives in decent nick; one for the shortlist in a change of headgear. |

On his first start following a gelding operation, FIRST PRINCIPLE stuck to his task well to deny both Two Tempting (second) and Dividend (third) at Southwell. William Haggas' three-year-old is worse off at the weights with his reopposing rivals, but is open to plenty more improvement. Local Hero gained some compensation for his near-miss in the London Mile Series Final when going one better over C&D and must be feared. Silver Peak is the unknown quantity because he has spent a long time on the sidelines and has been gelded since his fourth behind Delacroix in the 2024 Autumn Stakes.

A few with chances but DIVIDEND shaped well after a break when third at Southwell last time and could build on that effort here.

Cool Molly took a big step forward to chase home an unbeaten stablemate at Southwell last time and will be hard to beat if reproducing that performance. She was beaten a long way over this C&D before that, though, which sways the vote in favour of GRAND VISTA. The Far Above colt made a nice beginning to his career when fourth at Newbury and improvement is anticipated. One And Gone has experience on his side and now starts off for Ian Williams.

The verdict goes to GRAND VISTA, who made a promising debut when fourth at Newbury and can improve sufficiently to get off the mark here

(4) (250/1 -150%)Electrocution |
250/1(-150%) | (4) Electrocution 250/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; wide draw; plenty of speed in the pedigree and likely to need more time. Soundly beaten in two maidens (6f/7f) on Wolverhampton AW. |

EUPHONIA has been given time to strengthen since her debut effort at Haydock, where she showed up for a long way before finishing fourth. The filly just in front of her went on to land a big nursery at York's Ebor meeting and this daughter of Mehmas is fancied to make it second-time lucky. Lolabella also filled fourth spot on her introduction and although that Leicester contest wasn't as strong, it was at least more recent. Mighty Vega wasn't beaten far in the Brocklesby back in March and is worth some thought on his first appearance as a gelding.

Mighty Vega disappointed on his second start 207 days ago, so once-raced pair EUPHONIA and Lolabella appeal most.

(6) (10/3 -21%)Hello It's Me |
10/3(-21%) | (6) Hello It's Me 10/3, Improved back up in trip when 3l third in a novice at Southwell most recent run; bred to be suited by 6-8f; likeable and could do better still. Third of ten at Southwell (6f, Tapeta) last time; respected on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (18/5 +35%)Too Darn Good |
18/5(+35%) | (2) Too Darn Good 18/5, Returned to form, just flattening out late up in trip when beaten 2l off 73 here last time; trainer in form; suited by 5f and just about gets 6f; consistent sort. Third of nine in C&D nursery last month; might have more to offer. |

(4) (4/1 +43%)From The Hip |
4/1(+43%) | (4) From The Hip 4/1, Improved to get off the mark when winning a maiden at Chelmsford by 1/2l last time; effective at 6f with a very fast pedigree; more to come at this trip. Only eighth of 14 on handicap debut but won a Polytrack maiden on latest start; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (4/1 +43%)Station Bar |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Station Bar 4/1, Improved when second beaten 3l in a novice over 7f at Salisbury latest; effective at 7f; open to improvement now handicapping. Much more like it when second (7f, good) last month; has been gelded; handicap debut. |

(1) (7/1 -133%)Akabusi |
7/1(-133%) | (1) Akabusi 7/1, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 68 at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 6f; consistent and respected despite a 5lb rise. Won on handicap debut and again on first go for this yard last time; big player up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (16/1 +27%)Davvy |
16/1(+27%) | (3) Davvy 16/1, Too keen tried in a visor, ran below form when beaten 7l in a nursery at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 6f; a bit flattered by earlier maiden and selling form. Peak form when winning Leicester seller (6f, good to firm) in July; way below that since. |

Akabusi made a successful start to life with Dylan Cunha at Wolverhampton, and Too Darn Good was a solid third over C&D on his first appearance in a nursery. There are some interesting handicap newcomers in opposition, though, not least CREDIT FORGEDD IT, who cost 150,000 pounds as a yearling and displayed more after a gelding operation when fourth at Newbury in September. Hello It's Me also made a six-figure sum at the sales, while Salisbury runner-up Station Bar is from a family Eve Johnson Houghton has had plenty of joy with.

None of these are safely ruled out but STATION BAR hails from a family his trainer knows well and he can make a winning handicap debut.

Without a victory this season and he came in just a fair fifth of 11 over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (4/1 +47%)Bill Plumb |
4/1(+47%) | (9) Bill Plumb 4/1, Scored by 1/2l off 69 at Yarmouth on his penultimate start; ran to form in new headgear combination despite a slow start when third last time; suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; consistent performer. Good third at Newcastle 12 days ago; this C&D winner ought to be in the shake-up again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (7/1 +18%)Hierarchy |
7/1(+18%) | (4) Hierarchy 7/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off 71 at Southwell three starts back; back to form despite a slow start when fourth last time; usually held up; effective at 6f and possibly better on all-weather nowadays; respected on latest run. 17/2(-6%) | (8) Supreme King 17/2, Ran to form from off the pace when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Doncaster last time; effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; working his way back to form. Shaped well when sixth at Doncaster latest; this C&D winner is very much one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 -64%)Lerwick |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Lerwick 9/1, Improved back on all-weather when beaten 2l off 73 here last time; effective at 6-8f and acts on a sound surface; signs of better form shown last time. Off three month before a solid C&D fourth 35 days ago; winless in 2025 but not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/1 -43%)Distant Rumble |
10/1(-43%) | (5) Distant Rumble 10/1, Made too much use of when beaten 7l in a handicap at Windsor last time; suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; form has been in and out lately. C&D winner but he beat just two in 6f Windsor handicap when last seen out in July. |

(7) (14/1 +13%)Bint Havana Gold |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Bint Havana Gold 14/1, Scored by 3 1/4l off 65 at Chelmsford on her penultimate start; below form from off the pace when ninth last time; effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; needs more off this mark. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (18/1 -100%)Siobhanbrogan |
18/1(-100%) | (3) Siobhanbrogan 18/1, Raced wide, too keen but ran to form when beaten a short head off 74 at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 6f and acts best on all-weather; can have a say up 1lb if ready to roll. Off since good second at Wolverhampton in February but still enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (28/1 -155%)Havana Joy |
28/1(-155%) | (10) Havana Joy 28/1, A bit keen and below form up in trip when 2 1/4l third in a maiden over 7f here most recently; wide draw; effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; respected. Solid third in 7f maiden here in May; returns for her handicap debut and not discounted. |

BILL PLUMB arrives near enough at the top of his game, with a couple of Yarmouth victories this campaign and a close-up third at Newcastle most recently. He is able to compete from an unchanged mark and is preferred to Justcallmepete, who has had the misfortune of finding an in-form rival too strong on each of his last two outings. Siobhanbrogan and Havana Joy are major players, despite the lack of a recent run, and Hierarchy can't be ruled out with confidence either.

The vote goes to JUSTCALLMEPETE (nap) who can gain a deserved first win for Tony Carroll on the back of a very good Wolverhampton second

11/4(+66%) | (12) Hinchinbrooke 11/4, Ran to form, benefitting from a drop in grade when beaten 1l off 74 over 10f at Yarmouth last time; suited by 10f; looks to be running back into form. 0-8 overall but firmly in the mix judged on last two starts, the first of them over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (7/1 -8%)Blast The Dream |
7/1(-8%) | (9) Blast The Dream 7/1, Below form, stopped quickly when well beaten in a handicap here last time; effective 8–11f; had been in form until that run. C&D second in September; player if she bounces back from a flop over C&D five weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/1 +55%)Ludo's Landing |
9/1(+55%) | (3) Ludo's Landing 9/1, Again ran poorly when down the field in a handicap at Southwell last time; effective 10–12f, acts on any; has lost form of late. Has bounced back from modest runs before but the last two defeats were by 50l. |

Breakthrough in June latest (9.4f, AW); left Kevin Philippart de Foy for 9,000gns August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (33/1 -83%)Youarenotforgiven |
33/1(-83%) | (13) Youarenotforgiven 33/1, Scored by a head off 67 over 9f at Wolverhampton on penultimate start; below form fifth last time; effective 7–10f, acts on any; had been in good form until latest. Two 9.4f wins on Wolverhampton AW this autumn; more to prove here and over new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 -65%)Chartwell Jock |
33/1(-65%) | (5) Chartwell Jock 33/1, Looked awkward and below form when fourth, beaten 11l, in a 10f handicap at Chester last time; effective at 10f; was in good form until latest and must bounce back on stable debut. 100/1(-52%) | (7) Yokkell 100/1, Below form, slow start not helping when comfortably held in a handicap over 8f at Lingfield last time; effective at 8f, acts on any; out of form since spring win but has dropped in the weights. 1m turf win in May; now 10lb lower, as there's been little to cheer in her six races since. |

JUST KEEP FLYING has been costly to follow since her winning debut at Goodwood, being turned over at odds-on here before again letting favourite-backers down when only third back at Goodwood. The form of that most recent race is strong, though, and the daughter of Justify should appreciate an artificial surface so can reward those who keep the faith. Hinchinbrooke may be the chief threat following a Yarmouth second, although spare a thought for Aeolian, Shahbaz and Chartwell Jock.

Just Keep Flying could still have potential and stands out in that respect. However, HINCHINBROOKE has been back to form.
Ths is the racecard key.

It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
