There were 36 Races on Wednesday 20th November 2024 across 5 meetings. There was 7 races at Ffos Las, 6 races at Hexham, 6 races at Warwick, 8 races at Dundalk, 9 races at Kempton, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.

Buckna was purchased for 350,000 pounds at the Cheltenham sale in March following his point success the week before in Ireland and the four-year-old commands plenty of respect making his Rules debut. However, the vote goes to ADMIRAL STEWART, who may well have needed his first run for Jamie Snowden more than the market anticipated when runner-up in a Hexham bumper and that experience won't be lost on him. Walk In The Hills should prove happier going left handed after a disappointing hurdles bow at Exeter.

Connections went to £350,000 to acquire BUCKNA following his point win in the spring so hopes have to be high that he will follow up on hurdles debut for his in-form yard. Walk On High is an obvious threat, along with Admiral Stewart.

It's probably best to draw a line through how WALK IN THE HILLS performed on his hurdling debut. His bumper form was good.

ROBERT D'ORES bounced right back to form when finishing an excellent second over an extended 2m7f on his seasonal reappearance here earlier this month, pulling clear with the winner. Stepping back in trip and upped just 4lb, this may be the day to catch him. One Step Up arrives on the back of a solid placed effort at Ayr and he commands respect off an unchanged mark. Irish raider Technology also merits consideration.

ROBERT D'ORES gets the vote on the back of a fine return from wind surgery over a longer trip here 12 days ago. John McConnell has an excellent 11-24 Hexham record so his Technology has to rate a danger. Last month's Ayr third One Step Up also makes the shortlist, while The Mass Path would also enter the reckoning should the betting vibes be strong.

The suggestion is the recent Carlisle third ONE STEP UP who has been mostly on the up since joining Stuart Coltherd

HOBB'S DELIGHT produced a career-best effort when just denied on his first start over fences at Plumpton last month and a 3lb rise may not be enough to stop him from going one better. Wide To West was beginning to get the hang of things at the back end of last season with the seven-year-old scoring over C&D in April. Others to note are The Scorpion King and Montys Soldier.

Rebecca Curtis' mare BRIDGET MAY has made an excellent start to life in this sphere and is fancied to quickly resume winning ways having been set a lot to do when fourth at Uttoxeter last time out. Hobb's Delight shaped well on his debut in this sphere when runner-up at Plumpton so rates a major threat. Wonder Of The Seas, Monty's Soldier and Shillanavogy all need factoring in too.

Perhaps the one with most potential is chasing debutant MONTYS SOLDIER, who impressed on last year's Irish point debut.

Despite being a beaten favourite the last twice, SOLAR SYSTEM showed more than enough on his comeback at Chepstow to suggest he can return to winning ways sooner rather than later. The use of Callum Pritchard further enhances his credentials and he gets a confident vote ahead of Baskerville, who has gone close on both handicap appearances. Cloud Dancer has to enter calculations too.

JILAIJONE's losing run is mounting up but there was no shame in being readily brushed aside by the thriving Double Power at Fontwell on his most recent outing, especially with that one extending his winning sequence in a competitive Cheltenham handicap last week, so David Pipe's 5-y-o is well worth another chance from an easing mark. Solar System and Baskerville head up the opposition in an interesting affair.

Solar System is greatly respected but BASKERVILLE ran well at Hereford last month and can overcome a 5lb rise.
Class & Speed Card

NOT SO SOBERS caught the eye when finishing a staying-on fourth in a hot Cheltenham bumper and, with his sights lowered on his debut over timber, he gets the vote to land the spoils. Nellie Bluesky didn't cut much ice in NH Flat races, but she impressed when making a winning hurdles bow over 2m4f at Perth in May and must be of interest on her return to the track. Golden Point is also a noteworthy contender, while Ira Hayes, who won at Carlisle on Tuesday, would hold obvious claims if turned out here.

NOT SO SOBERS had the form of last month's Cheltenham bumper form boosted there over the weekend and can strike on hurdle debut. Perth winner Nellie Bluesky and That One should get involved in the battle for minor honours. Ira Hayes would be a major threat to the selection if showing up here after/instead of Carlisle on Tuesday.

The Market Rasen winner NOT SO SOBERS, the first foal from a useful 2m hurdler, ticks plenty of boxes now heading over obstacles.

QUEENS FURY is certainly not short of experience and has been placed a number of times, including twice over this trip at Leopardstown. The Blue Point filly found Listed company a bit too hot here last month before only weakening in the closing stages on soft ground at Leopardstown last time. Mveve is the obvious threat as she progressed considerably from her debut at Cork last month to beat all bar newcomer Ethical Code over C&D. Highbury See See ran better than his finishing position would suggest on debut at Leopardstown and should improve with that run under his belt.

Joseph O'Brien could hold the key to this and his MVEVE is taken to open her account after going very close here 3 weeks ago. Stablemate De Novo is a very interesting newcomer and the betting could be revealing. Queens Fury is 0-9 but is fairly useful, albeit her 2 previous runs here haven't been all that great.

Queens Fury has failed to build on promising form and preference is for MVEVE (nap) who went close here on her second start
Class & Speed Card

BLUE LAS made it back-to-back victories at Uttoxeter in April, having improved with each start in bumpers, and the six-year-old is expected to progress now with her attentions switched to hurdling. Andy Amo is entitled to step forward from his second here over further last month, while Jig's Forge, a 75,000-pound purchase at Aintree in the spring, and Stone's Throw head the remainder.

STONE'S THROW made a promising start for Billy Aprahamian when a strong-finishing Ludlow third and can build on it now his stamina is drawn out more and get off the mark. Course runner-up Andy Amo also has better days ahead of him though so rates a big danger, while hurdling newcomers Blue Las, Jig's Forge and Jack To Bat all bring potential too.

Rebecca Curtis won this maiden in 2019 and 2020 and ANDY AMO was probably beaten by a very good horse here last month.
Class & Speed Card

MA SHANTOU was well fancied for the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree where something was clearly amiss as the five-year-old ended up finishing last. He was no match for an impressive winner at Wincanton on his hurdling bow, but the third and fourth have come out and won since, giving the form a boost, and the step up in trip appears likely to yield improvement. Barlovento won on hurdles debut at Carlisle but has to shoulder a penalty and will need to be sharper in the jumping department, while point-to-point winner Rubber Ball is respected on his hurdling bow.

BARLOVENTO added to his bumper success when getting up in the nick of time to make a winning hurdles debut at Carlisle and he's fancied to defy a penalty at the chief expense of useful bumper performer Ma Shantou, who could improve markedly with hurdling experience now under his belt. Rubber Ball made a promising enough start in a Cheltenham bumper last month and should have a future over jumps.

Ma Shantou and Barlovento are of interest but winning pointer RUBBER BALL can leave last month's bumper debut behind him.

Cadell struck at the second time of asking over fences, making all to beat two rivals at Wetherby, and he must enter calculations, although he may not be able dominate in quite the same way. NO TIME TO WAIT wasn't disgraced when finishing fourth in a 2m4f Down Royal beginners chase won by the exciting Firefox and, stepping back up in trip sporting a tongue-tie for the first time, he gets the nod to score for his astute connections. Reverend Hubert is also considered.

CADELL will likely face sterner resistance than when successful in a 3-runner affair at Wetherby 3 weeks ago, yet Lucinda Russell's 6-y-o was dominant on that occasion and is fancied to take this with further progress in the offing. Reverend Hubert returned to chasing and President Scottie, who was progressive over hurdles last term are fancied to emerge as the lead threats.

Lucinda Russell's CADELL produced a dominant display at Wetherby and can hold sway over Reverend Hubert.

FINSCEAL ANNIE won over this trip at Tipperary in August and has maintained her form well since over longer distances filling the runner-up spot three times. The Ciaran Murphy-trained filly was again prominent throughout when beating all bar Comfort Line over a mile here last time and should be suited by this drop back in trip. Golden Days has gained all four career wins over 7f including at Gowran this summer and shaped quite well after a sluggish start here last time. Velvet Skies was second to Marble Angel here on his penultimate start, while others to consider include The Cola Brasil and Liamo.

THE COLA BRASIL snuck up the inside when scoring a shade cosily over C&D last month and should make another bold bid from his low draw. Golden Days and Finsceal Annie head the dangers.

This may go the way of recent C&D winner THE COLA BRASIL whose form is working out and he could be well treated from 2lb higher
Class & Speed Card

LADY HARRIETT showed a liking for first-time cheekpieces when bolting up over C&D earlier in the month and she now has a 7lb penalty to carry. Considering the manner of that victory, she could prove very difficult to beat again. Greenways made a victorious start for the Tom Symonds stable at Hereford and should mount a bold bid, while Fresh Speculation makes most appeal of the remainder.

GREENWAYS was value for extra when making a winning debut for the Tom Symonds yard at Hereford last week and he's fancied to follow up. Tthis contest isn't without dangers though, with the similarly penalised Lady Harriett meriting plenty of respect after her recent C&D success, whilst Fresh Speculation made an encouraging return at Stratford and promises to benefit from the return to this trip.

Effectively only 4lb higher than for his recent Hereford success, GREENWAYS (nap) can follow up under his penalty.
Class & Speed Card

HELNWEIN landed a valuable prize at Sandown on the final day of last season when getting the better of subsequent Greatwood runner-up Be Aware and the six-year-old may well have more to offer tackling the larger obstacles. Booster Bob made a winning start over fences at Ffos Las and has already beaten the selection over hurdles in a Listed contest at Sandown. The application of cheekpieces might help Moveit Like Minnie and it is easy to see why Telepathique will have her supporters.

TELEPATHIQUE took to chasing really well when scoring with plenty in hand at Fakenham 3 weeks so tops the shortlist despite a 13 lb rise. Booster Bob also arrives on the back of an impressive chase debut success, while Moveit Like Minnie is another who is clearly capable.

Booster Bob has an obvious chance but MOVEIT LIKE MINNIE will go well if completing the course in first-time cheekpieces.
Class & Speed Card

DESTINY IS ALL didn't quite see out the trip when fourth in behind Breeze Of Wind (winner) over C&D in March. Lucinda Russell's 10-year-old, successful at Ayr on his comeback last month, only wilted late in the day and with ground conditions set to be nowhere near as testing, he could reverse that form. Dr Shirocco shapes as if he will appreciate this marathon trip and he is worth a second glance, while Camp Belan is also noted.

Claims can be made for a host here including last year's winner BREEZE OF WIND. He returned to action with a solid fourth at Bangor 22 days ago and the significant step back up in trip is firmly in his favour. Elleon is another of interest along with Jem In Em, who has often shaped like worthy of a crack at a marathon trip.

The 6yo JEM IN EM (nap) represents the in-form Lucinda Russell and has shaped as though he could relish this severe test of stamina.
Class & Speed Card

SHAADEN justified strong support over C&D a fortnight ago and may follow up off a 7lb higher mark. The Pat Flynn-trained filly had Harry The Rogue back in fifth, with Aisling Oscar further behind, and Billy Lee again takes the mount. Cherry Pink has won twice this year, including on the beach at Laytown, and is certainly one for the shortlist after finishing fourth here last time in a race that has been working out well since. Chica Power likes to force the pace and has won three times over this C&D, while Hope And Innocence has been placed twice here over a mile, including behind Comfort Line earlier this month.

Lots with chances but CHICA POWER rates the pick at these weights so is taken to bag a fourth C&D success. Cherry Pink is also handily weighted and heads the list of dangers, with Hope And Innocence, Harry The Rogue and Wild Mountain all in the picture too.

Recent winner Shaaden may be popular but it may be worth taking a chance on C&D specialist CHICA POWER who showed more last time
Class & Speed Card

Lermoos Legend relished the drop in distance when hosing up at this venue on his latest outing and is likely to be thereabouts, despite his 7lb penalty. However, it may pay to side with PEP TALKING, who regained the winning thread in this grade at Uttoxeter at the start of the month and a 5lb rise looks fair. The six-year-old looks up to completing a double, while Higgs is noted too.

PEP TALKING has made an encouraging start for this yard, showing improved form to score at Uttoxeter last time, and looks capable of defying a 5 lb rise. Supasunrise is feared most returned to a more suitable trip, while Bobbi's Beauty is worth another chance to back up her chase debut win.

Preference is for PEP TALKING, who doubled his chasing tally at Uttoxeter recently and is not yet fully exposed over fences.
Class & Speed Card

Pearly Island only found one too good over this trip at Huntingdon when last seen in April and he returns off the same mark today, but the vote goes to THE FLIER BEGLEY. Gary Hanmer's charge has really found his stride of late, winning over C&D before following up at Carlisle, and a further 5lb hike might not prevent him completing a hat-trick. Ballycamus disappointed on his reappearance last month, but he cannot be ruled out for an in-form yard.

With Jack Hogan in the saddle, THE FLIER BEGLEY has proved strong at the finish when winning his last 2 starts, successful over C&D on the first occasion, and he can go on to land the hat-trick in his current form. Ballycamus could be the main danger.

Ballycamus is not passed over lightly but THE FLIER BEGLEY may still have a bit further to go before he's weighted out of things.
Class & Speed Card

RETURN FIRE was able to exploit his sliding handicap mark when on target over 3m here recently and with a drop in trip unlikely to inconvenience this C&D winner, a 6lb rise might prove lenient. The Paddy Pie bounce backed to form when filling the runner-up spot at Sedgefield and is respected from 2lb higher, along with the consistent Kicksaftersix. Flash Du Pistolet didn't fire on his chasing debut having been sent off joint-favourite, but he may step forward now.

It could be worth siding with RIBEYE who stepped up on his comeback run when finishing a good third at Newcastle 3 weeks ago and lines up just 1 lb above the mark he last tasted success from over this C&D. Return Fire was successful over 3m here 12 days ago and needs considering. Flash du Pistolet is another who has wins in him in this sphere judged on an encouraging reappearance display at Kelso last month.

Lightly raced 6yo FLASH DU PISTOLET was a promising fourth on last month's chase debut at Kelso, and can build on that with a win.
Class & Speed Card

TOMARLO finished well here over 5f before opening his account over an extra furlong earlier this month and gets the vote to confirm places with Vanilla Baby, Undefeatable and Movin And Groovin. who were second, third and fourth respectively. The selection appeared to score with a bit in hand and a 5lb rise seems reasonable. That form ties in with the mile success of Sunriseontheboyne here last Friday where Movin And Groovin was a length and a half back in third. Annie Lavinia didn't enjoy a clear passage here on handicap debut last month, while there isn't much to choose between Roaming Eyes and Zuzzudio on running behind Mykonian Odyssey at Naas.

TOMARLO advanced his form considerably when a cosy scorer here last time and can make light of a 5 lb rise. Vanilla Baby chased home David Marnane's gelding that day and again looks second best ahead of recent course scorer Sunriseontheboyne, Annie Lavinia and Movin And Groovin.

A 6f nursery here two weeks ago provides key evidence. Runner-up VANILLA BABY may turn the tables on the winner Tomarlo

Not beaten far when looking to land the double here over 2m4f in April, WONDERWEASLE kept on well towards the end of that contest, giving the impression that she would appreciate going up in trip. As long as she handles the quicker ground, the six-year-old may have too much for Stratford runner-up It's Easy, and Hedera Park, who was a comfortable winner at Chepstow on her penultimate outing. Triple Nickle cannot be ruled out either.

A host in with chances and it could pay to side with GATA BAN, who took a step back in the right direction at Chepstow a fortnight ago and shaped as though she'll come on again for the outing. Dropped a further 3 lb, she can get the better of Triple Nickle, who has been in good form on the level this summer (won at this course) and was twice runner-up over hurdles in May. It's Easy and Hedera Park are another couple that should go well, too.

It's worth chancing GATA BAN, who shaped well at Chepstow recently and may now be at concert pitch for this third run after a layoff.
Class & Speed Card

Copernic Du Mazet looked the most likely winner before coming to grief two from home at Bangor last month and, if none the worse for that tumble, he should mount a stern challenge. That said, there are plenty of reasons to be hopeful about the chances of PADDY IN THE CADDY. He travelled strongly into contention on his seasonal return/chasing debut recently, before weakening approaching two out. A drop in distance ought to suit on that evidence and, on his second start following wind surgery, he may step forward. Abaya Du Mathan heads the remainder.

COPERNIC DU MAZET took a big step forward on his fencing bow at Bangor and looked the probable winner when coming down 2 out so is fancied to make amends here. Dan Skelton's chasing newcomer Pillar Rock could emerge as the chief threat with C&D winner Abaya Du Mathan also well in the mix. The returning Ostrava Du Berlais could have a say too if breathing surgery has a reviving effect.

The chance is taken that COPERNIC DU MAZET can shrug off a late fall at Bangor as he'd jumped really well on his chase debut up to then.
Class & Speed Card

Runner-up to promising types at Perth and Ayr, this looks a good opportunity for the Ewan Whillans-trained BESPOKE TAILOR to get off the mark. Connections would have been pleased with He's Bresilian's bumper debut at Carlisle, though, and he is the main threat. Noble George, a half-brother to two NH Flat winners, is worth a market check ahead of his racecourse bow.

BESPOKE TAILOR has found just one too strong on both starts so far so Ewan Whillans' 4-y-o is fancied to make it third time lucky at the expense of He's Bresilian, who shaped with a more encouragement than he had in a couple of points when fourth at Carlisle last month. Noble George makes most paper appeal of the newcomers so can occupy third place.

This could go to HE'S BRESILIAN, who was a promising fourth on last month's bumper debut at Carlisle and is open to improvement.
Class & Speed Card

BEATRIX POWER has been a frustrating sort to follow but may finally open her account. The selection seems equally effective over 5f and 6f and steps back up to this distance after twice being beaten at odds-on, including by the narrowest of margins here earlier this month. Lady Pagasa has been tried over a variety of trips and now drops back in distance after two outings over a mile since joining current connections. She is now fitted with cheekpieces and the booking of Colin Keane is significant, while Eyema Candy Girl is related to a number of sprint winners in Australia and any market move for the Justify filly would be interesting.

The fact BEATRIX POWER has been turned over at short odds the last twice means she's perhaps not one for maximum faith but this does look a very good chance for her. Lady Pagasa is the obvious threat unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Joseph O'Brien debutante Eyema Candy Girl.

This looks like an excellent opportunity for the consistent BEATRIX POWER who was narrowly denied over 5f here last time
Class & Speed Card

An encouraging third on debut at Southwell last month when outpaced before staying on to good effect at the finish, THE LONG WALK is likely to improve plenty for that experience and he can get off the mark on this occasion. Mustang Betty didn't do herself any favours when slowly into stride at Warwick first time out, but she did well to keep on for third and is a key player, along with Rules newcomer Swindon Village.

THE LONG WALK made a promising start when third in a Southwell bumper last month, form which has been boosted by the runner-up winning next time, so he is taken to get off the mark with that experience behind him. Mustang Betty also shaped well on her debut and is feared most, with Collanisi the pick of the debutants for his in-form yard.

Southwell third THE LONG WALK sets a fair standard of rules form and might be the answer.

IKARAK struggled in a warm heat at Cheltenham in January before failing to fire in an equally as competitive event at Newbury the following month, but he might be the answer. Now in the care of Olly Murphy, the six-year-old will undoubtedly appreciate an ease in grade and he has gone well when fresh before. Butler's Brief, up 4lb having won at Bangor last month, is an obvious candidate, while Drop Flight kept on well over 2m4f at Carlisle latest and may fare better now upped in trip.

It's taken Dan Skelton a little time to find the key to DROP FLIGHT but his Carlisle effort at the start of the month was a lot more like it and back up in trip, he now looks ready to cash in on a good mark. Chris Cool has his jumping issues but is very dangerous if keeping the mistakes down, with Butler's Brief likely to be on the premises, too.

Ikarak makes some appeal for his new yard but DROP FLIGHT (nap) looked ready for a bigger effort at Carlisle recently.

ZABEIR won a 7f maiden here over two years ago and looks capable of adding to that victory after dropping to a competitive mark. The Donal Kinsella-trained gelding has shown plenty of promise here on his latest two starts including when just denied by Skontonovski over a mile last month. The Michael O'Callaghan-trained duo of Darkdeserthighway and Rockbury Lad are others to consider, along with recent C&D winner Higher Kingdom and Shining Aitch. Speckled Meadow is generally a model of consistency and well suited by soft ground on turf, but didn't show the same level of form previously on this surface.

Having tumbled in the weights, ZABEIR stopped the slide when second over C&D 3 weeks ago and now he's back in good order, he's fancied to cash in. Higher Kingdom landed a punt here 12 days ago and is feared despite his new mark, with Man Is King another to note.

Michael O'Callaghan has a strong hand with preference for ROCKBURY LAD who is a previous C&D winner that caught the eye last time
Class & Speed Card

Having scored over C&D in September, five-time all-weather winner DEMBE then wasn't disgraced when finishing fifth in a 14-runner affair at Newmarket. The Simon Pearce-trained gelding should relish a return to this track and a higher mark in this sphere may not be enough to stop him from getting his head back in front. Ureshii caught the eye on his third-placed handicap bow at Newbury in June and he's feared most, ahead of Kracking.

DEMBE landed a gamble with plenty to spare over C&D in September and returned to the AW, his revised mark looks well within range. Thorntonledale Max may have more to offer over 1m so he's feared most, though Vibrato has to be respected in his hat-trick bid and Ureshii isn't yet exposed.

This should set up for the closers. DEMBE, who readily swept past all eight of his rivals in the straight two runs ago, is the call.

GARDONE has done well since switched to the Polytrack this year and may add to a C&D win in August. The Eric McNamara-trained gelding has shaped well on both outings since and is closely matched with Gallo Dell Cielo on running behind Barretstown a fortnight ago. The World's Astage, Dancing Steve and Beauty Bella filled the first three places in a separate division of the aforementioned handicap here two weeks ago and that trio are all worthy of consideration. Tipperary winner Dancing Steve has built up a series of consistent efforts here, while Chopsticks and Marians Gal have also advertised their chances here recently.

GARDONE has found some consistency since returned to this surface, opening his account over C&D prior to a pair of solid efforts in defeat. He gets the nod in a wide-open affair. The World's Astage, Dancing Steve and Spinning Web head up the dangers, with Gallo dell Cielo another in the mix.

THE WORLD'S ASTAGE had some of these in behind when successful over C&D recently and she gives the impression there's still more to come

The ground appeared too soft at Doncaster for WILD NATURE when coming home last on his nursery bow. Charlie Appleby's inmate looked one to keep on side on his three previous efforts and he is worth another chance now tackling Polytrack. A 14lb hike in the ratings was enough to thwart Spirit Lead Me in his bid to land a hat-trick over 7f here, but he wasn't beaten far in third and is unexposed over a mile. Stable/nursery debutant Dante's Lad is also noted.

It's probably wise to excuse WILD NATURE's Doncaster nursery debut run given he was badly hampered soon after the start and perhaps unsuited by extreme conditions, so he's well worth another chance having looked progressive prior to that. Dante's Lad has joined a yard that does well with its recruits and the furlong longer trip seems sure to suit based on his pedigree. Spirit Lead Me seems highly likely to give another good account so warrants respect, also.

The way SPIRIT LEAD ME was coming back at the line over 7f here a fortnight ago suggests his revised mark can be defied returned to 1m.

Willie McCreery saddles two contenders and riding arrangements suggest LILTIA is preferred. The daughter of Teofilo has been placed on three of her five outings this year, including when staying on well into second behind Sidiza over 1m2f at Navan. Expelliarmus also came home strongly over 1m2f at Navan last year before showing some promise over hurdles but now reappears after a lengthy absence, while stablemate Winsome steps up considerably in distance after being placed here last time. Pearl Jewel has been generally consistent this year including on the Polytrack, while Shaool had Santa Princess behind when showing some promise in a Curragh maiden over this trip.

PEARL JEWEL should prove suited by stepping back up to 1m4f and looks the way to go in this open maiden. Joseph O'Brien has his string in good nick so his returning Expelliarmus could emerge as the main danger, with Liltia and Shaool also worthy of respect.

An ease in the ground may not have suited LILTIA at the Currafgh last time and she is worth another chance over this trip

The softer ground appeared to stretch ROI DE FRANCE's stamina when down the field in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket, but the lightly-raced son of Sea The Stars makes plenty of appeal in these calmer waters and may take some stopping reverting to the all-weather. Having stayed on to finish third over 7f at Southwell last month, Harvard Sound must also enter calculations on his first attempt at a mile. Hafeet Alain may fare best of the remainder.

A cracking handicap. ROI DE FRANCE is better than he showed in the Cambridgeshire and can get back on the up now. Like the selection, Victorious Street and Harvard Sound are 3-y-os who likely have more to offer. Longlai and Sterling Knight may prove best of the older brigade.

Harvard Sound can improve for stepping up to 1m but VICTORIOUS STREET appeals as the type to carry on improving on this surface.

BRAVE BYREFLECTION made a debut full of promise to claim the silver medal at Ripon in August and she could take a big step forward from that effort. Alice Haynes' juvenile might only need to find normal improvement in order to make use of her 12lb advantage over Mini Mac, who shed his maiden tag at Brighton before failing to fire on his nursery debut at Newcastle. Even so, he is expected to prove the main threat, while any market confidence behind Em Four would be interesting.

There was plenty to like about BRAVE BYREFLECTION's opening second at Ripon in August and she can make the most of the weight she receives from Brighton winner Mini Mac. Al Baarez was getting the hang of things towards the end of his Chelmsford debut and also makes the shortlist.

This looks a good opportunity for BRAVE BYREFLECTION to go one better than on debut at Ripon in August.

IMPULSE BUY went into many notebooks when outrunning his odds to finish a close-up third on his debut at Southwell last week. Clare Hobson's youngster looks to have been found a suitable assignment and could prove difficult to beat with that experience under his belt. Something Splendid was beaten a long way on his first start in a nursery at Newmarket, but he is a player based on his second at Southwell prior to that. Best Of All needs to be monitored closely in the market.

IMPULSE BUY is the percentage call on the back of his promising first run at Southwell last week, although strong market support for Roger Varian newcomer Best of All would put a slightly different slant on things. War Supremo should build on his Southwell debut and also makes the shortlist.

Best Of All is a newcomer of note but IMPULSE BUY ran well on last week's debut and can put that experience to good use.

TRANSPARENT finished over five lengths clear of a subsequent winner when occupying the runner-up berth over track and trip last month. As long as the son of Mehmas can overcome his difficult draw in stall 14, he ought to go very close. Bridget's View improved on her debut fifth when just touched off at Newmarket and it would be no surprise to see her get into contention again. Sanditon and Teroomm are intriguing debutants to watch out for.

BRIDGET'S VIEW found only a promising newcomer a neck too strong at Newmarket 18 days ago and in receipt of weight all round, she rates the percentage call. Transparent's C&D debut second was full of promise so he must command respect, with Teroomm and San Juanito perhaps the pick of a good-looking bunch of debutants.

Teroomm could prove pick of the newcomers but BRIDGET'S VIEW sets the standard and remains capable of better.

COOL PARTY arrives at the top of his game after scoring over C&D on his last two starts and a mere 2lb rise for his most recent success may not be enough to stop him from landing the hat-trick. Berkshire Sundance arrives with similar claims after triumphing over 1m6f the last twice and, a previous track-and-trip winner himself, he should appreciate the step back up to 2m. Duke Of Oxford is 5lb better off with the selection for finishing just over a length behind him here last month and he should be thereabouts again.

DUKE OF OXFORD found himself not so well placed as the pair that beat him when third behind re-opposing Cool Party over C&D 4 weeks ago. However, that was his first start since August and, meeting that rival on 5 lb better terms, he could be worth siding with to come out on top. Berkshire Sundance continues to go the right way and along with aforementioned Cool Party, heads the dangers.

This is a rise in grade for BERKSHIRE SUNDANCE (nap) but the horses he beat in Class 4 races the last twice give his form a solid look.

Now that the penny has dropped for EAVESTONE after a comfortable success over further at Southwell, the daughter of Lope De Vega is likely to have more improvement forthcoming on her handicap bow. A mark of 80 could underestimate her and she gets the vote ahead of Blessed Honour, who has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of her Nottingham defeat of Power Of Destiny in the summer. The latter now has her first start for the Ralph Beckett team and is one to monitor for market support.

POWER OF DESTINY looks the type to take to AW and is on a good mark on the pick of her form, so could be worth chancing starting out for Ralph Beckett. Blessed Honour failed to meet expectations on her handicap bow at Newbury but is worth another chance, with Typical Woman another to consider.

Ralph Beckett's pair are of interest but maybe BLESSED HONOUR will appreciate returning to a quicker surface and be the answer.

ADACE deservedly regained the winning thread with a taking performance over C&D last month and 2lb rise for that success could prove lenient at a similar level. The daughter of Adaay is narrowly preferred to stablemate The Spotlight Kid, who scored over 1m here last time out, while Diamondsinthesand (third) has two lengths to make up with the selection from that recent contest but is 3lb better off. Others to note include Nubough, Shamardia and Valadero.

ADACE looked better than ever when a smooth winner over C&D 3 weeks ago so gets the vote up 2 lb. The Spotlight Kid made a winning return to the AW here 2 weeks ago and is next best ahead of Valadero.

Dean Ivory's last-time-out course winners Adace and THE SPOTLIGHT KID could fight this out.
Ths is the racecard key.
