1st (8) (7/2 +0%)Sonic Pioneer |
7/2(+0%) | (8) Sonic Pioneer 7/2, Ran to form when second, beaten a neck in a handicap over 12f at Pontefract last time. Returns from a short break and looks a threat. In good form on the Flat in August/September; brings potential to his hurdling career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (10/3 +44%)Zarakerjack |
10/3(+44%) | (9) Zarakerjack 10/3, Ran to form when a length third in a handicap over 12f here last time; should be competitive again. Consistent on the Flat and he's one to be interested in on his hurdle/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (22/1 -83%)Dissident |
22/1(-83%) | (5) Dissident 22/1, Outpaced and never threatened when finishing down the field in a handicap over 12f here last time; not out of it. Out of form on the Flat this autumn but showed promise previously; makes hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 +0%)Flagon Dry |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Flagon Dry 12/1, Made mistakes but ran to form when second, beaten 7 1/2l in a juvenile hurdle at Wetherby last time. Effective over 8f on the Flat and 2m over jumps; probably one for handicaps. Soundly beaten 2nd of 3 finishers at Wetherby on second hurdle start; improvement needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (8/13 -8%)Parchment |
8/13(-8%) | (1) Parchment 8/13, Promising debut when winning by 1 1/2l in a juvenile hurdle over 2m1f at Clairefontaine; effective over 2m and handles soft ground. Showed a decent level of form in France and worth a market check. Won in France on sole previous start and sets a good standard for the rest to aim at. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (80/1 +20%)Oasis Sunrise |
80/1(+20%) | (10) Oasis Sunrise 80/1, Failed to build on debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Warwick last time; effective over 2m and suited by fast ground. Flat winner who may do better in handicaps. Modest Flat performer who has been soundly beaten at big odds on both hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (50/1 -52%)Burano Murano |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Burano Murano 50/1, Ran about to form when second, beaten 16l in a handicap over 10f at Ffos Las last time. Returns from a short break and has plenty to find. Displayed some ability on the Flat but improvement needed for the switch of codes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (400/1 -167%)Cosmic Spirit |
400/1(-167%) | (4) Cosmic Spirit 400/1, No worthwhile form so far; wears a hood for the first time. Showed nothing on the Flat at 6-7f or on hurdling debut. Tailed off at big odds on all three Flat runs and same story on hurdle debut at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (250/1 -150%)Modern Style |
250/1(-150%) | (7) Modern Style 250/1, Outpaced, needed the run and outclassed when 68l third in a juvenile hurdle at Ludlow last time; has everything to prove. Tailed off for Charlie Appleby on sole Flat run and same outcome when 33-1 on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (400/1 -167%)Praying For Time |
400/1(-167%) | (11) Praying For Time 400/1, Green and made mistakes when comfortably held in a mares' hurdle at Hereford last time. Wears a hood for the first time and has yet to show much in either code. Low-level maiden on the Flat who was tailed off at 150-1 on recent h'dle debut at Hereford. |

A winner over timber on his only start in France, PARCHMENT looks well placed to make a successful start to his career with the in-form David Pipe yard. Flagon Dry, Modern Style and Bouquet De Paris all need significant steps forward from what they have shown in this discipline so far. Therefore, it wouldn't be surprising to see Sonic Pioneer (rated 76 at his best on the Flat) emerge as the main danger on his hurdles debut.

Having made a good impression on his sole run in France, PARCHMENT is taken to make a winning start for David Pipe.

1st (1) (8/11 +13%)Amancio |
8/11(+13%) | (1) Amancio 8/11, Made mistakes but showed improvement down in grade when second, beaten a neck in a novice hurdle over 2m at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2m, has handled any ground on the Flat and continues to progress over hurdles. Bettered his winning form when close second at Ludlow last month; ground a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 -17%)Idaho Valley |
7/4(-17%) | (2) Idaho Valley 7/4, Ran to form but tired late after a wind operation when fourth, beaten 7l in a 2m5f maiden hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Returning from a long layoff and having his second run post-surgery; effective from 2m to 2½m and consistent. Placed on three of his five hurdling starts last season; ought to play a big role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (28/1 -12%)Killycarn |
28/1(-12%) | (4) Killycarn 28/1, Too free and needed the run on hurdle debut when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Trainer in form; handles good ground but likely to need more time under rules. Second in an Irish point; well beaten after racing too freely in the lead on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -11%)Valette |
10/1(-11%) | (5) Valette 10/1, Jukebox Jury mare; half-sister to For The Cause, who was moderate over 16f; dam was poor over 12f. Does not have a striking pedigree but has travelled from Ireland to make her debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (28/1 -12%)Jack The Boss |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Jack The Boss 28/1, Refused to race in a 2m novice hurdle at Ludlow last time. This is his second start after a wind operation; effective at 2m on good ground but has something to prove after a poor return, and looks the stable's second string. Last season's winning form is worth very little; well held by Amancio on recent form. |

AMANCIO should take all of the beating. He won his maiden hurdle at Chepstow in taking fashion last season and almost followed up in this company at Ludlow last time. Jockey Isabelle Ryder negates his penalty courtesy of her 7lb claim and he can get the better of point-to-point winner Idaho Valley. Valette would be interesting if there is money around for her.

Amancio has the best hurdling form but IDAHO VALLEY may handle today's conditions better and is given the vote.

1st (6) (11/2 +39%)Old Park Star |
11/2(+39%) | (6) Old Park Star 11/2, Ran to form when finishing 8l third in a bumper at Chepstow on his latest run. Needs to improve. Placed in all 3 bumpers for Paul Nicholls; could have big part to play on h'dle/yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/4 -64%)Un Sens A La Vie |
9/4(-64%) | (2) Un Sens A La Vie 9/4, Far too free up in grade but ran to form when beaten 8l in the Oddschecker Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) at Cheltenham last time. In good form prior, effective at 2m, with more to come over hurdles; a point winner who will stay further. Unplaced fav in Cheltenham Grade 2 but return to right-handed track may help; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +22%)Fortune Timmy |
7/2(+22%) | (1) Fortune Timmy 7/2, Quickened clear cosily when winning a maiden hurdle at Fontwell over 2m3f by 4 1/2l last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on good to soft. More to come, though the drop back in trip may not be ideal. Won on hurdle debut at Fontwell, doing it nicely in a race that's working out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/8 +21%)Wandering Ego |
11/8(+21%) | (3) Wandering Ego 11/8, Went clear with ease when winning a novice hurdle at Stratford by 14l last time. The trainer is in form, and he was progressive in bumpers at 2m. More to come over hurdles and will stay further. Easy win at Stratford; this is hotter but he's a strong candidate nevertheless. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (80/1 -100%)Urban Isle |
80/1(-100%) | (7) Urban Isle 80/1, Improved when 7 1/4l third in a 4yo bumper at Huntingdon last time. Hard to recommend. Ability in bumpers but sizeable step forward is needed in warm little race on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (300/1 -140%)Johnny Hooves |
300/1(-140%) | (4) Johnny Hooves 300/1, Never in the race and made a modest debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time. Looks one for further down the line. Half-brother to two winners who is in top hands but beaten a long way on first two starts. |

it is hard to ignore WANDERING EGO, whose 14-length romp at Stratford has a solid look to it. Sean Bowen's mount could be too pacey for the rest here. Fortune Timmy looked a useful prospect with a ready success on his Rules debut at Fontwell last month. However, that was over 2m3f and he has something to prove over the minimum trip. With that in mind, the class-dropping Un Sens A La Vie could be a bigger danger at this level, although he was a shade disappointing in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time.

There is a firm suspicion UN SENS A LA VIE is better than he showed at Cheltenham and he gets the nod ahead of Fortune Timmy.

1st (12) (5/4 +64%)Snatch A Glance |
5/4(+64%) | (12) Snatch A Glance 5/4, Had too much to do but shaped very promisingly when third, beaten 2l, in a novice hurdle here on his latest run. Effective at 2m and suited by a sound surface. A bumper winner whose form has been franked and looks sure to improve over hurdles. Won course bumper last month and was clear third in C&D hurdle a fortnight later; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (33/1 -32%)Cheesy Icon |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Cheesy Icon 33/1, A bit free and flattened out when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter last time, though improved from his debut. Usually held up and showed promise in bumpers but must settle better over hurdles. Ran well to a point last week; has an engine but needs to learn to settle better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (7/4 +36%)Super Freddie |
7/4(+36%) | (13) Super Freddie 7/4, Made a promising hurdle debut when just tiring late back from a break to finish second, beaten 12l, in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Bangor-on-Dee. Effective at 2m on good ground and may progress a little further. Runner-up (albeit safely held) on hurdle debut; can make presence felt again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (25/1 -79%)Blue Sky Dreaming |
25/1(-79%) | (2) Blue Sky Dreaming 25/1, Showed minor promise on debut when fourth, beaten 20l, in a novice hurdle at Stratford last time. Effective at 2m on good to soft or good ground and should have more to offer over hurdles. Shaped well before fading into fourth on seasonal/hurdle debut; considered each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (17/2 -13%)Granpa Ger |
17/2(-13%) | (6) Granpa Ger 17/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter last time after a short break. Effective at 2m on good ground; a consistent but frustrating maiden. Split two subsequent winners when close second on last month's stable debut; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/2 -120%)Lake Tiberias |
11/2(-120%) | (8) Lake Tiberias 11/2, Made a promising bumper debut when third, beaten 9 1/4l, in a bumper at Chepstow on debut and is not out of it. Placed in Chepstow bumper on last month's debut; likely contender again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (125/1 -213%)Lord Cauvelliere |
125/1(-213%) | (9) Lord Cauvelliere 125/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective at 2m and suited by quick ground. A bumper and point winner who needs to show more over hurdles. Won Stratford bumper in May but soundly beaten on both recent hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (300/1 -200%)Deferred Interest |
300/1(-200%) | (5) Deferred Interest 300/1, Has shown no worthwhile form and has it all to do. Struggled in three maiden/novice races on the Flat this year; makes hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (66/1 -500%)Run Away Joe |
66/1(-500%) | (11) Run Away Joe 66/1, Outpaced on a modest debut when 23l fourth in a bumper at Ascot first time out; plenty more needed. Went close in an Irish point in April and last month's bumper debut is best forgotten. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (12/1 -60%)Alcaraz |
12/1(-60%) | (1) Alcaraz 12/1, Found nil when well beaten in a 10f handicap at Newbury last time but had been in good form before that. The trainer is going well and he looks a contender. Useful on the Flat at around 1m2f; contender if he takes well to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (200/1 -700%)Bourding Pass |
200/1(-700%) | (3) Bourding Pass 200/1, Showed minor promise on debut when finishing a 16l fourth in a maiden bumper at Hereford first time out but is hard to recommend. Not disgraced in Hereford bumper in April but probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (250/1 -213%)Hopjes |
250/1(-213%) | (7) Hopjes 250/1, Unseated in a novice hurdle over 1m7f at Wincanton last time and has it all to prove in both codes. Unseated rider at first flight when 200-1 for recent hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (300/1 -200%)Pay Dirt |
300/1(-200%) | (10) Pay Dirt 300/1, Outpaced and poor on debut when well beaten in a maiden bumper at Stratford on only start. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and has it all to do. Tailed off when 80-1 for Stratford bumper won by Lord Cauvelliere in May. |

GRANPA GER filled second place on his debut for these connections over 2m at Uttoxeter last month and, given how well that form has worked out subsequently, the seven-year-old is clearly the one to beat here. The recent C&D third Snatch A Glance could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Lake Tiberias and Super Freddie should not be discounted.

Preference is for course bumper winner SNATCH A GLANCE, who made a good start to his hurdling career over C&D.

1st (4) (11/2 +0%)John Betjeman |
11/2(+0%) | (4) John Betjeman 11/2, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot most recently. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground. A veteran whose form tailed off in spring but returns off a workable mark. Absent since the spring but makes stable debut from a workable mark; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/4 +57%)Bathgate |
6/4(+57%) | (3) Bathgate 6/4, Won this race last year. Never threatened when ridden to see out the trip and was comfortably held in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Kelso on latest run. Effective at 2m but currently out of form. Two wins (including this race) last season; back on a good mark now; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 -100%)Inferno Sacree |
4/1(-100%) | (1) Inferno Sacree 4/1, Below form when third, beaten 12l, in a 2m handicap hurdle at Plumpton on latest start. Enjoys racing prominently and is effective from 2m to 2m4f. The handicapper has eased him and he could be dangerous if allowed to dictate the pace. Not the force of old but was consistent last season and has travelled from Devon for this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 +36%)Kaviar Wood |
9/2(+36%) | (5) Kaviar Wood 9/2, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 35l, in a 2m novice hurdle at Hereford last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Showed minor promise in 2m4f points but looks one for handicaps after this. Well beaten at huge odds in three novice/maiden hurdes; improvement possible in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (10/1 +50%)Berry Edge |
10/1(+50%) | (6) Berry Edge 10/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m but has yet to show any worthwhile ability over hurdles. Still unexposed over hurdles but was soundly beaten over C&D on recent handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (16/1 -167%)Cross Of Redmoor |
16/1(-167%) | (8) Cross Of Redmoor 16/1, Improved a little when fourth, beaten 10l, in a 2m4f handicap hurdle here on latest start. Returns from a short break. Effective at 2m4f and may stay further, but 2m looks an inadequate test. Respectable fourth on handicap debut here (2m4f) in September but needs improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (100/1 -100%)Macho Sun |
100/1(-100%) | (9) Macho Sun 100/1, Saddle slipped when finishing down the field in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen on latest start. Effective at 2m but has been in poor form in both codes for some time. 0-17 on the Flat and yet to show any significant promise after four hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (16/1 -167%)Kingston Rock |
16/1(-167%) | (7) Kingston Rock 16/1, Below form when comfortably held in a 2m maiden hurdle at Hexham on latest outing. Effective at 2m but remains an exposed maiden who looks flattered by earlier form. Excelled himself when third in Hexham maiden in March but overall profile unconvincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (50/1 -100%)Nottodaybobo |
50/1(-100%) | (2) Nottodaybobo 50/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time. Best at around 2m on good ground, though his form has declined since moving from Ireland. Ran well on stable debut in July but two heavy defeats have followed. |

Bathgate has won here before and commands respect, while Kaviar Wood is expected to show improved form now he's sent handicapping. That being said, INFERNO SACREE gets the verdict because he's dropped in class and is beginning to look really well handicapped again off 99. You only have to go back three starts for when he finished second here off 103.

Last year's winner BATHGATE is back on a good mark and hinted at a possible return to form at Kelso recently.

1st (3) (11/4 -10%)Jax Junior |
11/4(-10%) | (3) Jax Junior 11/4, Jumped well and made a promising debut when second, beaten 16l, in a beginners' chase over 2m at Uttoxeter last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and should improve back up in trip. Three-time novice hurdle winner who is open to improvement on his second chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (1/1 +0%)Jeriko Du Reponet |
1/1(+0%) | (4) Jeriko Du Reponet 1/1, Yard won this last year; travelled well and ran to form when reversing Cheltenham form with stablemate to win a Listed handicap hurdle at Punchestown over 3m by 4 1/4l last time; top jockey back on board and the pick on balance of form. Pulled up on sole previous chase start but tough to beat if transferring his hurdle form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/2 +61%)Miami Magic |
7/2(+61%) | (5) Miami Magic 7/2, Made mistakes and was outpaced, not travelling, when needing the run on chase debut after a wind operation, finishing 32l third in a 2m beginners' chase at Uttoxeter last time; this is his second run after the operation and he must leave that form behind. Runner-up in Graded novice hurdles last season but when well beaten on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 -14%)Hansard |
8/1(-14%) | (2) Hansard 8/1, Going well when all but brought down before being eased and well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time; could figure. Chase debut; 0-6 over hurdles last term but still showed considerable spark; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (33/1 -175%)Aurigny Mill |
33/1(-175%) | (1) Aurigny Mill 33/1, Outpaced and needed the run when fourth, beaten 50l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Sandown last time; usually held up and has a bit to find. Progressive over hurdles last season but tailed off on recent reappearance; chase debut. |

Nicky Henderson won this race with the classy Iberico Lord last year and has a major chance of notching back-to-back wins with JERIKO DU REPONET. Events conspired against the six-year-old on his chasing debut at Sandown last November but his hurdles form sets a high standard and he's worth another try over fences. The rest are closely matched on official ratings but perhaps Jax Junior and Aurigny Mill are the dangers.

Jeriko Du Reponet has the best hurdle form but also questions to answer and preference is for JAX JUNIOR on his second chase start.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (18/1 -350%)Bluenose Belle |
18/1(-350%) | (6) Bluenose Belle 18/1, Improved to land a 2l handicap win off 81 over 2m1f at Market Rasen, though fortunate after hampering the runner-up on the home bend. Up 2lb; effective at 2m on good ground and appears progressive. Dual handicap winner in the spring and looks open to further progress; respected.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (4/1 +60%)Churchman |
4/1(+60%) | (11) Churchman 4/1, Made too much use of and failed to stay when well beaten in a 3m handicap hurdle at Southwell last time. Returning from a long layoff and could be in the mix if ridden with more restraint. Largely out of sorts last season and needs to find some spark after a break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (100/1 +0%)Ramaah |
100/1(+0%) | (12) Ramaah 100/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fakenham last time. Blinkers applied for the first time. Effective at 2m on good to soft ground but yet to show much over hurdles. Pulled up on April's handicap debut and fared no better on last month's return; blinkers.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -65%)Battle Of Omdurman |
14/1(-65%) | (4) Battle Of Omdurman 14/1, Outpaced and unable to go the gallop when comfortably held in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Stratford last time. Returning from a break; effective at 2m on sound ground and should improve if ridden more positively. Juvenile hurdle winner last season who has run respectably against his elders; eased 3lb.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (9/1 -20%)East End Girl |
9/1(-20%) | (2) East End Girl 9/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Off a long absence but generally consistent over hurdles. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Lightly campaigned in recent times and although capable, has another absence to overcome.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (8/1 -14%)Dexter |
8/1(-14%) | (1) Dexter 8/1, Scored by a length off 92 over 2m1f at Cartmel in August. Returned to form back over hurdles when second, beaten 8 1/2l off 99 last time. Effective at 2m, acts on any ground, and appears in form off a fair mark. Made a respectable return to hurdles last time and likely to be in the mix again.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (50/1 +24%)Now Then Wendy |
50/1(+24%) | (7) Now Then Wendy 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Off a short break; effective at 2m on good ground. On a fair mark based on maiden form and could bounce back. Shaped well on handicap debut in March but more likely needed despite a 3lb lower mark.. |

9th (5) (18/1 -13%)L'air Du Large |
18/1(-13%) | (5) L'air Du Large 18/1, Outpaced and needed the run when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Has plenty to prove at this level. Makes handicap debut in a modest race but only of interest if strong in the market.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (9/4 +25%)Blue Tempus |
9/4(+25%) | (10) Blue Tempus 9/4, Ran to form on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and may stay a little further in this sphere. Consistent, if winless, in four runs over hurdles and enters calculations eased 3lb.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (40/1 -21%)Fight For It |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Fight For It 40/1, Pulled up in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Stratford last time. Effective at 2m on good ground, but recent form has been going the wrong way. Pulled up on last month's return from a long absence and probably best watched at present.. |

Bluenose Belle has to be respected on her return after her victory at Market Rasen when last seen in May. However, her lack of a recent run may give the edge to BLUE TEMPUS. Alan King's gelding was fourth on his handicap debut at Kempton last month and should benefit from this drop in grade. Others to note are Dexter and No More Bolero.

Juvenile hurdler BLUE TEMPUS shaped promisingly in a stronger Kempton handicap last time and he's taken to open his account eased 3lb.

11/2(+39%) | (2) Dixie Cowboy 11/2, Too free and needed the run when down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Carlisle most recently. Likely to show marked improvement with that outing behind him. Ran well to a point over hurdles this month after a layoff; back in trip for chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (15/2 +46%)Forcetoreckonwith |
15/2(+46%) | (3) Forcetoreckonwith 15/2, Poor chase debut when down the field in a 2m4f handicap chase at Uttoxeter last time. Effective between 2m and 2m4f on good to soft ground but may need further than 2m. Well beaten in both handicaps (hurdle/chase) but may yet deliver on pointing promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/4 +30%)Huit Reflets |
7/4(+30%) | (5) Huit Reflets 7/4, Built on a return to form to win a handicap by 5l off 83 over 2m2f at Kelso last time. Returns from a short break and looks well treated on hurdle form. Went very close over fences in August and gained compensation over hurdles in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (20/1 -264%)Natural Ability |
20/1(-264%) | (1) Natural Ability 20/1, Fell in a handicap chase here last time when still going well. Returns from a long layoff and is effective at 2m on decent ground. Was in fair form when last seen, though conditions may pose a concern on reappearance. C&D winner on last season's stable debut; big player if tuned up after 292-day absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (20/1 +20%)Texard |
20/1(+20%) | (4) Texard 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Hereford last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective at 2m on soft or good ground but appears regressive overall. Pulled up this month after a long absence; others have much less to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (8/1 -78%)Blended Stealth |
8/1(-78%) | (7) Blended Stealth 8/1, Improved when beaten 2l off 73 here last time. Effective between 2m and 3m but remains inconsistent and has some enthusiasm concerns. Seemingly perked up by change of headgear when clear second over C&D this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (9/4 -20%)Formel Park |
9/4(-20%) | (6) Formel Park 9/4, Made mistakes but still ran to form when landing a handicap by 2l off 69 here last time. Effective at 2m on soft or good ground and may have more to offer over fences. C&D winner 11 days ago; can improve if her jumping is more fluent today. |

FORMEL PARK has only had the two starts over fences and she didn't let her Ludlow fall knock her confidence as she won over C&D last time. With that first win under her belt, she's taken to kick on and keep progressing. The booking of Brian Hughes is another tick in her box and she can get the better of Huit Reflets and Blended Stealth.

Back in trip for his chasing debut after racing too freely last time, DIXIE COWBOY might be worth chancing.

20/1(-100%) | (4) Holly Hartingo 20/1, Showed a good attitude to rally when beaten 1 1/4l off 111 here last time. Returning from a long layoff but fair mark if fit. In good form at the end of last year; off since but capable of going well after an absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 -6%)Kitty Foyle |
17/2(-6%) | (3) Kitty Foyle 17/2, Too free up in trip and didn't stay when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Exeter last time. Effective at 2m on good to soft or good ground; well treated on Listed form and in good form in both codes. Stays well on the Flat and this step up in trip is well worth a go; interesting contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/1 +10%)Getalead |
9/1(+10%) | (5) Getalead 9/1, Bit too free back from a break when fourth beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Warwick last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and needs a sound surface; had been in form before that. Could improve for this month's outing at Warwick and he's below his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/2 -27%)Jimmy Hurdstrom |
7/2(-27%) | (1) Jimmy Hurdstrom 7/2, Ran fourth, beaten 4 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Aintree last time. Progressive in bumpers and a 3m point winner who should stay further than 2m over hurdles. 3m point winner for whom the step up in trip could be a positive on his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/1 +18%)Lunar Power |
7/1(+18%) | (7) Lunar Power 7/1, Below par when fourth beaten 19l in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Hereford last time. Effective from 2m to 2m6f and well treated if building on his recent revival. Underwhelming at Hereford latest but encouraging run here previously on second yard start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (3/1 +45%)Court In A Storm |
3/1(+45%) | (2) Court In A Storm 3/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Effective from 2m to 3m and, with excuses for that latest run, could bounce back. Won his first two hurdle runs but well beaten when falling at final flight on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (13/2 -8%)Springs A Girl |
13/2(-8%) | (6) Springs A Girl 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Cheltenham last time. Usually held up and likely to stay this bit further. Looks on fair mark on chase form. Two wins over hurdles last season and well handicapped judged on her chase debut second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (9) (9/2 0%)I've Madeupmymind |
9/2(0%) | (9) I've Madeupmymind 9/2, Keen but ran to form when second beaten 8l in a novice hurdle over 2m3f at Warwick last time. Trainer in form and she probably has a bit more to come. Dam won three times over 3m; open to improvement now up in trip on handicap debut. |

SPRINGS A GIRL's jumping cost her when she pulled up over fences last time, but a return to hurdling could spark a revival and she is well handicapped on the pick of her form. Court In A Storm remains unexposed and should not be discounted despite falling on his handicap debut last month. Others to note are Jimmy Hurdstrom and Getalead.

The step up in trip is an interesting move for KITTY FOYLE, who stays well on the Flat, and she earns the vote.

13/8(+54%) | (4) Wyenot 13/8, Outclassed and comfortably held in the Mares Champion Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m5f at Punchestown last time; useful handicap hurdler likes to make the running and looks the pick on balance of form with easy lead likely on chase debut. Listed hurdle winner who may have more to offer now chasing if ready to go after a break.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 -29%)Kamsinas |
9/2(-29%) | (2) Kamsinas 9/2, Slightly hampered by a faller and never threatened when outclassed down the field in a Handicap Hurdle over 3m1f at Aintree most recently; could figure here. 4-12 over hurdles; may be suited by this switch to fences with more to come at the trip.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/1 -150%)Monmiral |
5/1(-150%) | (3) Monmiral 5/1, Outclassed and comfortably held in a Grade 1 hurdle over 3m2f at Auteuil last time; former Pertemps winner has an outside chance but yet to convince as a chaser. 0-5 over fences but a useful hurdler who reappears having had a second wind op; respected.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (13/8 +19%)Double Powerful |
13/8(+19%) | (1) Double Powerful 13/8, Unseated in a Listed Novices' Chase over 3m1f at Cheltenham last time; usually held up; effective from 2½m to 3m and acts on any ground; progressive type. An early casualty last time but October's chase debut was full of promise; strong claims.. |

MONMIRAL has yet to show his best in five starts over fences, but he was second in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham back at the beginning of 2023. A subsequent winner of the Pertemps Final in 2024, Paul Nicholls' gelding can be given another chance back over the larger obstacles. Wyenot was a Listed winner over hurdles and makes plenty of appeal at these weights, while Double Powerful edges out Kamsinas to be next best.

A tight contest but preference is for the race-fit DOUBLE POWERFUL who remains with considerable potential over fences.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/1 +56%)Hajey |
11/1(+56%) | (4) Hajey 11/1, Too free and made mistakes when below form, comfortably held in a 3m handicap hurdle at Newcastle last time; enjoys making the running and is effective around 2 1/2m on soft ground; out of form but now below his last winning mark. Might have needed recent reappearance run and has become very well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9/2(-13%) | (11) Avalon Beach 9/2, Ran to form when landing a 2m1f maiden hurdle here by 3 1/2l last time; should be effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on good ground; progressive type who can improve in handicaps. Won modest 2m1f maiden here this month; probably needs to improve again. |

Won twice in early part of last season but form dipped afterwards; back from a break. |

8th (2) (14/1 -100%)Isle Of Sark |
14/1(-100%) | (2) Isle Of Sark 14/1, Won by 5 1/2l off 107 here in October; up in trip last time and didn't stay, finishing third beaten 53l off 110; effective at around 2m5f but barely gets 3m, prefers a sound surface. C&D winner last month but not in same form over fences lately; ground a worry. |

25/1(-257%) | (1) Sea The Clouds 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Cartmel last time after a short break; has a chance if back to form but veteran is unreliable. Chase winner this summer; pulled up last time but reverts to hurdles on workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (8/1 +11%)Rock Hurley |
8/1(+11%) | (7) Rock Hurley 8/1, Made too much use of and didn't stay when well beaten in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Cartmel last time; effective around 2 1/2m and suited by soft ground; had been in good form before that and can be forgiven latest run. Dominated from the front at Bangor in April; absent since tame capitulation in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (125/1 -89%)Starman |
125/1(-89%) | (8) Starman 125/1, Outpaced and needed the run on stable debut when well beaten in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time; usually held up and acts on soft ground; currently out of form. Ex-Irish 9yo; did not get competitive when 80-1 for recent stable debut. |

Harper Valley has won off a higher mark in the past and showed signs of a resurgence when third at Uttoxeter. Monaco Rules remains unexposed off his current mark and could shape well in this lower grade, but AVALON BEACH also has plenty of scope. Chris Grant's inmate opened his account over timber with a markedly improved effort over 2m1f here and should go close returning to this longer trip for his handicap debut.

French hurdle winner MONACO RULES has rather mixed record in Britain, but he posted a good effort at Kelso recently and gets the nod.

Effective between 2m and 2 3/4m over hurdles, fairly treated and a possible improver in handicaps. No match for the winner on last two starts but from respected Irish yard and could go well. |

2nd (1) (11/2 +31%)Bethpage |
11/2(+31%) | (1) Bethpage 11/2, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton last time after stepping up in grade. Previously in good form and effective between 2 1/2m and 3m, with her penultimate effort looking very strong. Progressive in good-ground handicaps in spring and might have needed recent comeback run. |

11/2(+15%) | (2) Della Casa Lunga 11/2, Outpaced and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee last time. 11/8(-10%) | (6) That'll Do Moss 11/8, Ran to form and did best of those coming from off the pace when second, beaten 2 1/4l, in the Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m4f at Fairyhouse last time. Effective over 2 1/2m, should be suited by a longer trip and holds strong claims down in grade. Runner-up in Grade 1 mares' novice at Fairyhouse in April and holds strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/1 +31%)Pretending |
11/1(+31%) | (5) Pretending 11/1, Raced wide and below form when well beaten in a handicap over 12f at Southwell last time. Previously progressive and still has potential to show better form. Won Uttoxeter handicap on last season's reappearance but has something to find today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/2 +31%)Laravie |
11/2(+31%) | (4) Laravie 11/2, Finished fourth, beaten 11l, in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and suited by a sound surface; had been progressing over various trips until finding her limitations, and now looks in the handicapper's grip. Won four in a row in May-July; beaten on next two runs; needs career best now up in grade. |

THAT'LL DO MOSS outran odds of 50/1 when filling second place in a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse when last seen in April. On that evidence, the six-year-old could be very hard to stop in this company. Dream On Baby arrives on the back of multiple seconds across both codes and could fill the runner-up position once again. The rest all have questions to answer, but Bethpage is the pick of them.

Having been second in a Grade 1 mares' novice at Fairyhouse in April when last seen, THAT'LL DO MOSS is the selection.

Effective around 2m4f and acts on good ground. Easing in the weights and unexposed at 3m, he could build on that run. 0-8; fair fourth over 3m1f latest; career-low mark; interesting with headgear now tried. |

2nd (3) (6/4 +20%)Despereaux |
6/4(+20%) | (3) Despereaux 6/4, Returned to form when third, beaten 6l, in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Huntingdon on his most recent run. Trainer is in form, effective up to 3m, and acts on good and good to soft ground. Needs to build on his recent revival. Two wins last term, the first over C&D; coming back to form; stable going well; chance. |

5th (2) (4/1 +38%)Atlanta Brave |
4/1(+38%) | (2) Atlanta Brave 4/1, Produced a poor hurdles return when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time. Effective over 3m but currently out of form. Formerly quite a useful hurdler/chaser; not at his best last two seasons; hard to fancy. |

|PU| (6) (9/1 +10%)Izzy's Grey |
9/1(+10%) | (6) Izzy's Grey 9/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Hereford last time. This is his second run since a wind operation. Effective at 3m and acts on good ground but remains a frustrating maiden. Chance on his second in April, but pulled up on his 3 starts since, latest after wind op. |

DESPEREAUX and Crystal Glance are the pair to focus on. The fitting of first-time cheekpieces could see that latter improve on two moderate runs last month and a return to form cannot be ruled out. On the other hand, DESPEREAUX arrives after an improved effort when third in a similar event at Huntingdon and another step in the right direction could suffice. Tracking Treasure is the pick of the others.

C&D winner DESPEREAUX (nap), from a stable in fine form, is taken to beat Crystal Glance and Tracking Treasure.

9th (7) (66/1 -164%)Stretch |
66/1(-164%) | (7) Stretch 66/1, Up in trip and didn't get home when beaten 9l in a 2m handicap at Catterick last time; probably stays 2m but yet to find ideal conditions; others make stronger appeal. Ex-Jack Channon; mainly modest efforts so far, including on first run for current trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (12/1 -200%)Flying Scotsman |
12/1(-200%) | (1) Flying Scotsman 12/1, Needed the run when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap here last time; off a short break; effective at 12f and back below last winning mark, could build on that return. C&D winner in January; some fair runs since but well beaten over C&D latest after a break. |

RAMPANT might not need to improve much on his latest second-placed effort at Wolverhampton, when beaten just a short head, in order to strike. He gets a confident vote ahead of Himself, who showed a lot more here last time out when finishing third. Of the others, C&D winner Flying Scotsman might represent a bit of each-way value, likewise Duchess.

The two maiden 3yos could dominate this with ALFRED SPERO, fourth on his last run here, being preferred to Himself.

1st (1) (9/2 +50%)Ladronne |
9/2(+50%) | (1) Ladronne 9/2, Outpaced and unsuited by a drop in trip when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Wetherby last time. In good form beforehand, with the trainer going well. Effective at 3m and on a fair mark at best but can be inconsistent. Won twice last season (3m/3m2f); probably found 2m3f on good ground too sharp this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 +0%)Couldbeaweapon |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Couldbeaweapon 5/1, Scored by 17l off 88 here three starts ago and ran to form when third, beaten 12l off 95 last time. Best at around 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground. Generally consistent performer. Won twice in October and has been placed twice since; likely contender again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/8 +35%)Largy Train |
13/8(+35%) | (3) Largy Train 13/8, Returned to form down in trip when just caught late by a race-fit rival, beaten 3/4l off 97 here last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective around 2½m. Acts on any ground and could build on that reappearance. Ran big race in defeat over C&D this month and today's slower ground might suit better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (17/2 -55%)Beat The Edge |
17/2(-55%) | (6) Beat The Edge 17/2, Made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time. Effective up to 2m5f and acts on good ground, though often finds little in the finish. Ran well over C&D this month but has his quirks and doesn't often win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (17/2 -183%)El Muchacho |
17/2(-183%) | (5) El Muchacho 17/2, Returned to form down in grade off a reduced mark when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 91 here last time. Effective between 2m and 2½m, needs a sound surface, and still looks well treated on old form. Returned to form with game C&D win this month; now needs to build on that performance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (4/1 +20%)Kadjar Des Mottes |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Kadjar Des Mottes 4/1, Ran to form but looked in need of a stiffer test when fourth, beaten 12l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Kelso last time. Among the contenders with promise of more to come over fences. Ran well in maiden hurdle on seasonal debut; up in trip for chase/handicap debut. |

LARGY TRAIN won easily over C&D last year and returned to this venue with another fine effort on his latest start. Beaten less than a length into second on that occasion, a 2lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from turning the tables with the winner El Muchacho. The latter will likely give another good account, while the consistent Couldbeaweapon is usually in the mix at this level.

A close second over C&D this month, LARGY TRAIN (nap) can go one better on today's slower ground.

4/1(+11%) | (5) Chance Another One 4/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time, having been in good form beforehand. A progressive type who should have more to offer as a staying chaser. Irish challenger who is unexposed over fences and could have more to offer in this sphere. |

2nd (1) (7/1 -180%)Viroflay |
7/1(-180%) | (1) Viroflay 7/1, Ran to form when tiring late after a break, beaten 4l off 136 over 2m3f at Ascot last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and needs decent ground. Fairly treated on hunter chase form. C&D hunter chase winner who was second of three in recent Ascot handicap; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (1/1 +60%)First Confession |
1/1(+60%) | (3) First Confession 1/1, Outpaced but rallied for a promising chase debut when 10l third in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Carlisle on his latest run. Trainer in form. Effective around 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft and good, and likely to stay 3m over fences. Encouraging third at Carlisle on chase debut and open to improvement now back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 -100%)Doctor Ken |
9/1(-100%) | (2) Doctor Ken 9/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 26l in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Perth latest, needing the run. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, placed in this off 1lb lower last year and remains unexposed at 3m. Below par in April when last seen but lots to like about his earlier form; goes well fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/2 +45%)Go To War |
11/2(+45%) | (6) Go To War 11/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time but remains open to marked improvement for top yard now going chasing. In and out over hurdles but from top stable and could be a contender on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 -43%)Stans The Man |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Stans The Man 20/1, Ran to form when a game 8l third in a handicap chase at Exeter on his latest start. Effective at 3m and beyond, suited by good ground, though the handicapper may now have him. Step back in right direction at Exeter recently but he needs another today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (80/1 -344%)Menaggio |
80/1(-344%) | (4) Menaggio 80/1, Made mistakes and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Hexham latest. Effective at 3m and acts on good to soft and good. Inconsistent last term and has plenty to prove for his new yard. Well treated on last season's best form but pulled up/tailed off on both runs this autumn. |

VIROFLAY finished second of only three runners over 2m3f at Ascot on his reappearance and handicap debut. That outing will have blown any cobwebs away and a repeat of his second over this longer distance at Punchestown in May could see Paul Nicholls' charge return to winning ways. First Confession made a promising chasing debut when third at Carlisle recently and could be thereabouts, while Doctor Ken goes well fresh.

Joe Tizzard continues in excellent form and FIRST CONFESSION (nap) shaped on his chase debut as though he could relish the return to 3m.

18/1(-140%) | (6) Rumoursareflying 18/1, Travelled well but did not find much and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Huntingdon last time. Effective at 2m and may stay further. Ran as though the race was needed behind Pure Carbon at Huntingdon, as he travelled well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (14/1 -56%)Hypotenus |
14/1(-56%) | (2) Hypotenus 14/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 9l in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Ascot latest. Effective at 2m and suited by a sound surface, though can be frustrating. Ran well on occasions last season; down the weights and had wind surgery; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (22/1 -340%)Big Boy Barney |
22/1(-340%) | (5) Big Boy Barney 22/1, Outpaced and ran poorly when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. A value selection on the balance of form. Could stage a revival on chase/handicap debut as he did win his only point. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (25/1 +24%)Lucky Lugger |
25/1(+24%) | (8) Lucky Lugger 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Worcester latest. Effective at 2m and may need some cut in the ground but remains inconsistent. Has won over fences but pulled up on either side of a break and probably wants it softer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (12/1 +25%)Stroll On By |
12/1(+25%) | (3) Stroll On By 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Worcester last time. Effective at 2m and generally consistent. Good hurdle run last time but chase mark is 5lb higher and might be vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (13/8 +54%)Lightning Flash |
13/8(+54%) | (4) Lightning Flash 13/8, Scored by 4l off 106 at Chepstow on his penultimate start. Jumped poorly and was below form up in grade when fourth, beaten 28l off 111 last time. Effective 2-2 1/2m on soft or good ground, but his jumping must improve. On a useful mark with Toby McCain-Mitchell claiming 5lb and Ludlow should suit him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (5/4 +33%)Pure Carbon |
5/4(+33%) | (1) Pure Carbon 5/4, Well treated off an unchanged mark, ran to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 109 at Huntingdon last time. Trainer in form and effective over 2-2 1/2m on a sound surface. Progressing over fences. Seemingly all the better for wind surgery; up 6lb for last time but could cope with that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (12/1 -100%)Dog Fox |
12/1(-100%) | (7) Dog Fox 12/1, Travelled well but did not find as much as looked likely when 9l third in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter most recently. Suited by 2m on a sound surface and fairly treated on hurdle form. Needs to step up on latest effort but clearly open to progress on just third chase start. |

A wind operation and the switch to fences seems to have brought the best out of PURE CARBON. Harry Derham's charge was making only his second outing over the larger obstacles when returning the ready winner at Huntingdon recently and he remains of interest off a 6lb higher mark. Lightning Flash beat the selection at Chepstow last month and is not easily dismissed back over 2m, while Hypotenus drops in class with a shout on his return to the fray.

Lightning Flash is respected now going right handed but PURE CARBON took a sizeable step forward in winning last time.

28/1(-300%) | (3) Violeta 28/1, May not have stayed on handicap debut when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Cartmel last time. Off a short break. Dual winner over 1m2f here; not done quite as well recently; stamina to prove. |

3rd (9) (12/1 +14%)Havachoc |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Havachoc 12/1, Ran to current form when fourth, beaten 5 1/4l, in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Off a short break. Effective at 10–14f and acts on the all-weather. Inconsistent performer. Ex-Grant Tuer; 0-8; fair fourth over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time; each-way chance. |

4th (8) (16/1 +20%)Yurinov |
16/1(+20%) | (8) Yurinov 16/1, Ran to current form when comfortably held in a handicap over 2m at Southwell last time. Effective at 12–14f and acts on any surface. Poor recent form both in France and since moving yards. 0-22; fair 9l second two runs ago but well beaten last time; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 +24%)Apache Eagle |
25/1(+24%) | (5) Apache Eagle 25/1, Jumped poorly and showed modest debut form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f here last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Stays 14f and acts on the all-weather. Has shown little flat form and has something to prove back from hurdling. Unexposed; fair fifth on AW in October 2024 but not as good since; cheekpieces now tried. |

6th (10) (10/1 -33%)Bebside |
10/1(-33%) | (10) Bebside 10/1, Ran to form when 9l third in a handicap at Southwell last time. Off a short break. Effective at 10–12f but unreliable when trying to build on recent revival. 0-17; fair third at Southwell on latest start (1m4f) and has an each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (50/1 -52%)Perfect Arch |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Perfect Arch 50/1, Bit below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Market Rasen last time. Could be competitive. Well beaten last few Flat starts, but has shaped better over jumps since wind op in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (4/1 +11%)Wadacre Giorgio |
4/1(+11%) | (4) Wadacre Giorgio 4/1, Returned to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a mark of 49 at Southwell last time. Suited by 12–13f and a sound surface. Still a maiden but on a fair mark if building on recent revival. 0-12; well beaten last run over C&D but good 3rd at Southwell latest; chance on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (66/1 -230%)Lawmans Blis |
66/1(-230%) | (2) Lawmans Blis 66/1, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap over 2m at Southwell last time. Visor on for the first time. Effective at 10–12f and suited by the all-weather. Out of form since returning from hurdling. Three AW wins in 2024 but has been disappointing on last few starts; visor tried. |

BREAK POINT had been in good nick over hurdles prior to his Wolverhampton second last month in this sphere. Olly Murphy's charge is taken to continue that good form here and get the better of Wadacre Giorgio, who put in a much-improved display last time out when third at Southwell. You can also make a decent case for course scorer Violeta.

Last month's Wolverhampton runner-up BREAK POINT has a sound chance of going one better in this modest contest.

9/4(-13%) | (4) William Yeats 9/4, Showed strong promise when second, beaten 4 1/4l in a bumper here on debut by a more experienced rival. 7/2(-115%) | (5) Drakaris 7/2, 34,000 euros Affinisea filly; full-sister to Hornica, a useful performer at 16f. Represents a top stable and is an interesting newcomer. Out of a half-sister to Champion Hurdle winner Annie Power; with top yard; obvious appeal. |

10/11(+55%) | (1) Laristote 10/11, Fell in a maiden over 3m at Tallow last time; returning from a long layoff. Yard won this race last year, and he looks a value selection on the balance of his form. In contention before last-fence fall on Irish point debut; new yard does well in bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (14/1 +13%)Turbo Boy |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Turbo Boy 14/1, Well beaten on debut in an Amateurs' bumper over 2m at Ffos Las, where he was outpaced. May already need a longer trip than 2m. Struggled on debut but has good pedigree for bumpers; might fare better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (66/1 -164%)Mywayorthehiway |
66/1(-164%) | (2) Mywayorthehiway 66/1, Manduro gelding whose profile is still to be established; little to assess so far but noted for future reference. First foal from a low-grade 2m hurdle winner; probably best watched on debut. |

WILLIAM YEATS is taken to make the most of his experience and come out best. He made a promising Rules debut when second over C&D last month and that run should have brought him on a good deal. Donald McCain sent out last year's winner and Laristote should be noted for any market support, while Drakaris is a newcomer to keep an eye on representing Dan Skelton's powerful yard.

Drakaris looks interesting but LARISTOTE is taken to deliver on the promise he showed before falling on his Irish point debut.

Effective at 2m on good ground; in form and mark looks workable. Solid start over hurdles and was beaten in a tight finish on handicap debut at Ascot. |

50/1(-52%) | (6) Raffles Nobu 50/1, Below form up in grade when fourth, beaten 35l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Fontwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut; yet to match his French form. 25-1 and never figured on stable debut in a 2m3f handicap at Fontwell. |

20/1(-25%) | (8) Zhang Fei 20/1, Made too much use of and was comfortably held in a claiming hurdle at Huntingdon last time. Effective at 2m and generally consistent. Wasn't favoured by the weights in a claimer on his first run back with Fergal O'Brien. |

50/1(-525%) | (3) The Truant 50/1, Ran to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 98 at Punchestown last time. Effective from 12f to 16f; in good form in both codes and mark looks about right for stable debut. Signed off for Paul Flynn with a big-field handicap win at Punchestown in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (33/1 -136%)Mistress Emma |
33/1(-136%) | (10) Mistress Emma 33/1, Keen and needed the run, possibly finding the ground a bit quick when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time. Had been in good form prior; effective from 2m to 2m3f and acts on soft and good to soft ground; must leave reappearance form behind. Lightly raced 7yo who is better than she showed on her recent handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (8/1 -7%)Turpin Gold |
8/1(-7%) | (4) Turpin Gold 8/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off 100 over 2m1f at Newton Abbot three starts back. Made mistakes but ran to form when second, beaten 2 1/4l off 107 last time; consistent at 2m on a sound surface but on a stiff mark. Has done well for this yard since returning from a long absence; 2nd off this mark latest. |

Across Earth won nicely at Hereford on his seasonal bow and cannot be ruled out, despite an 8lb rise. Surrey Lord opened his account over timber with a victory on soft going at Ffos Las last month, but AT THE OCHE makes more appeal on this sounder surface. The latter just failed to catch the winner at Ascot on his handicap debut and the four-year-old will likely have plenty more to offer off his current mark.

The call is AT THE OCHE who made a positive start in handicaps at Ascot and he could be ridden more forward over this sharper test.

66/1(+34%) | (8) Silk Bird 66/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; usually held up; effective over 2m on good ground but yet to show much, may be suited by further. Modest hurdle form and needs to improve considerably for this longer trip.. |

8th (10) (40/1 +20%)After Midnight |
40/1(+20%) | (10) After Midnight 40/1, Outpaced and needed the run when well beaten in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; yet to show any worthwhile form. Never figured on May's handicap debut and now has enough prove after a break.. |

25/1(+38%) | (5) Mistletoe 25/1, Pulled up in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Worcester last time after a break; effective at 2½m and acts on good ground but generally in poor form. Comes back in trip off a reduced mark but hard to make a case after a break.. |

|PU| (6) (8/1 -100%)Brief Statement |
8/1(-100%) | (6) Brief Statement 8/1, Fell in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Perth last time; usually held up; effective at 2½m and acts on good ground; in fair form with a reasonable mark. In the process of running a big race when falling at Perth on return from long absence.. |

PRINCESS KERI has relished the return to hurdling and built on last month's second at Chepstow with a convincing success at Lingfield two weeks ago. Harry Cobden keeps the winning partnership intact and she looks worth sticking with back over this longer distance. Isabel De Clare finished second here a month ago and could have a say in proceedings once again, while the Huntingdon runner-up Sumatran Tiger may well improve now handicapping.

Princess Keri is feared but the suggestion is BRIEF STATEMENT who may build on last month's promising handicap debut.

1st (1) (7/4 +56%)Noelies Dream |
7/4(+56%) | (1) Noelies Dream 7/4, Did too much too soon when lit up by first-time blinkers after missing the break and was well beaten in a 6f Nottingham nursery last time. Had been in good form prior and is effective at 5f; needs to bounce back. Heavy defeat on nursery debut but it was 6f and bad ground; chance on earlier efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/8 +50%)Brave Traveller |
11/8(+50%) | (3) Brave Traveller 11/8, Did plenty early and was beaten 8 1/4l in a 6f novice at Redcar last time. Effective at 6f; consistent in maidens and could be better suited to handicaps. Debut effort remains his best performance; more realistic assignment today; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 -471%)Mademoiselle Belle |
10/1(-471%) | (5) Mademoiselle Belle 10/1, Returned to form when third, beaten 5l, in a novice at Beverley on her latest run after a short break. Effective at 5f and 6f and acts on all-weather; her mark could be a little stiff. Has shown some promise but she doesn't look obviously well treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 -41%)Data Fata Secutus |
12/1(-41%) | (4) Data Fata Secutus 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 7 1/4l in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time. Has plenty of speed in the pedigree and acts on the all-weather. Looks on a fair opening mark and still progressing. Second run was encouraging; likely improver now tackling a low-grade nursery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (13/2 +0%)Golden Havana |
13/2(+0%) | (2) Golden Havana 13/2, Too free on handicap debut when well beaten in a 6f nursery here last time. Effective at 5f and 6f, bred to stay up to 10f. A strong gelding who may have looked flattered by one standout maiden effort. Best run came over C&D; well held on nursery debut latest (6f); headgear off this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (40/1 -43%)Resdev Kisses |
40/1(-43%) | (6) Resdev Kisses 40/1, Never threatened when comfortably held in a Wolverhampton nursery last time. Effective at 5f and handles a sound surface but has plenty to prove. Two low-key runs for new yard, the latest at Wolverhampton on Saturday. |

MADEMOISELLE BELLE looks the way to go in this nursery as she produced arguably her best effort so far when third at Beverley last time in novice company. Perhaps she's getting the hang of things now and she makes more appeal than Brave Traveller, who boasts some decent form and could be well treated on his handicap debut. Noelies Dream is best of the rest.

The two nursery newcomers Data Fata Secutus and BRAVE TRAVELLER are both capable of better and the latter is marginally preferred.

3/1(+75%) | (5) Dingwall 3/1, Again below form when beaten 7l in a 10f handicap at Redcar on slow ground last time; usually held up and effective over 8f to 10f; return to all-weather may suit off a fair mark. Sole win was 16 months ago and he hasn't really threatened in nine runs this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (20/1 -43%)Good Shot |
20/1(-43%) | (13) Good Shot 20/1, Never threatened when beaten 3 1/4l off 52 over 10f at Lingfield last time; effective over 9f; fast ground may be a slight concern and temperament remains a worry. Went close on handicap debut at Lingfield but she's been disappointing in three runs since. |

5th (1) (11/1 +31%)Galactic Glow |
11/1(+31%) | (1) Galactic Glow 11/1, Disappointing hurdles return when finishing down the field in a 2m handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; effective over 2m on fast ground; consistent in both codes and looks well treated on flat form. Tailed off over hurdles latest but he's a multiple Flat winner who could bounce back. |

6th (10) (11/1 -144%)Scenario |
11/1(-144%) | (10) Scenario 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off 52 over 7f here last time; from a top course trainer; effective from 7f to 9f and acts on all-weather; on a fair mark and holding form well. Eyecatching third here (7f) on recent stable debut and she's respected back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (7/1 +61%)My Brother Mike |
7/1(+61%) | (4) My Brother Mike 7/1, Produced a poor effort when stepped up in trip and finished down the field in an 11f handicap at Southwell last time; effective from 8f to 10f and in fair form before that run. Veteran who has won eight times on AW but he was tailed off at Southwell last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (7/1 +13%)Rockstar Icon |
7/1(+13%) | (2) Rockstar Icon 7/1, Did not find much when beaten 8l in a 7f handicap at Lingfield last time; effective over 7f or 8f and acts on a sound surface; has shown signs of regression. On much-reduced mark but he's 0-13 in handicaps; down the field on last two starts. |

STROBELIGHT performed better than his finishing position suggests here last time and, prior to that, he finished a good second at Lingfield. With scope for more improvement, the three-year-old seems like the safest play in what is a tricky handicap to solve. Scenario arrives in good nick and should be thereabouts, likewise Al Shabab, who won at Lingfield two starts ago.

Top of the list is STROBELIGHT (nap), who has finished placed in two of his four handicaps and still has potential.

4/9(+73%) | (1) Hallo Spaceboy 4/9, Improved from debut when second, beaten 1 1/4l, in a novice over 6f at Newmarket last time. Trainer in form and effective at 6f; has shown enough to win a maiden. Two promising 6f runs on turf; this is weaker and he holds obvious claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (14/1 +0%)Real Jack |
14/1(+0%) | (3) Real Jack 14/1, Below form when beaten 10l in a novice over 6f at Redcar last time; bit more needed down in trip. Two 6f runs at Redcar haven't been too bad but still needs good step forward to take this. |

3/1(-118%) | (5) North West Gal 3/1, Bit free but ran to form when second, beaten a nose, in a maiden at Catterick last time. Debut form franked at Listed level and has leading claims. Two promising efforts on turf and bred to go well on AW; leading contender. |

4th (4) (10/1 +60%)Northern Tempest |
10/1(+60%) | (4) Northern Tempest 10/1, Bit free but ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden over 6f at Pontefract last time; looks one for nurseries. Modest form in two turf runs over 6f; big step forward needed dropped in trip on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (20/1 +0%)Havin A Flyer |
20/1(+0%) | (8) Havin A Flyer 20/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 3l, in a nursery at Wolverhampton most recently; has had plenty of chances already. Exposed maiden who looks vulnerable at this level. |

6th (9) (40/1 0%)She's My Hobby |
40/1(0%) | (9) She's My Hobby 40/1, Improved for debut experience when fourth, beaten 7l, in a novice at Southwell last time; bred to be effective at 6/7f and may do better in low-grade handicaps. Second run was better than her debut but still not easily recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (200/1 -100%)Ganthorpe |
200/1(-100%) | (2) Ganthorpe 200/1, Too green to show anything, well beaten in a novice over 6f at Redcar on only start; likely to need more time. 50-1, green and tailed off on Redcar debut three weeks ago (6f, good); hard to recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (14/1 -211%)Flowerpot |
14/1(-211%) | (6) Flowerpot 14/1, 13 May; Roseman filly; wide draw; yard's 2yos going well; watch betting. Not especially appealing on paper but represents a respected stable & needs a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (28/1 +30%)Go Kylie Go |
28/1(+30%) | (7) Go Kylie Go 28/1, Too much to do after missing the break when fourth, beaten 11l, in a maiden over 6f at Pontefract last time; wide draw; drop in trip may not be ideal and looks one for handicaps. Modest form in two turf runs 108 days apart; marked improvement needed for switch to AW. |

HALLO SPACEBOY confirmed the promise of his debut third at York when filling second place over 6f at Newmarket late last month. That form suggests that Ed Walker's colt could be hard to beat here, although North West Gal has a similar profile and was only beaten a nose at Catterick a month ago. The rest do not inspire much confidence, but any market support for Flowerpot would have to be noted.

North West Gal can win a similar race but this looks an ease in grade for HALLO SPACEBOY and he can take full advantage.

1st (3) (6/1 +8%)Impossible Mission |
6/1(+8%) | (3) Impossible Mission 6/1, Ran to form when third beaten 9 1/2l in a maiden over 8f at Kempton most recently. Effective at 1m and acts on the all-weather. Consistent in maidens but his opening mark demands more. Doesn't look obviously well treated for this handicap debut; market support needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/4 +55%)Toastmaster |
5/4(+55%) | (1) Toastmaster 5/4, Outpaced and below form when fourth beaten 6l in a maiden over 7f at Southwell last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather. Pedigree suggests speed, so the longer trip may not suit. Backward step last time but initial efforts suggest this mark could be workable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -125%)Mariotto |
9/1(-125%) | (4) Mariotto 9/1, Improved under a positive ride when winning a novice at Beverley over 8f by 1/2l last time. Off a short break. Bred for middle distances and effective at 8-9f. Opening mark looks fair. Narrow winner of a Beverley novice where she appreciated the soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 -9%)Tabasko |
6/1(-9%) | (2) Tabasko 6/1, Ran to form, doing plenty early when fourth beaten 6l in a novice over 8f at Newbury last time. Likely to want 10f in time and has improvement to come now handicapping. Beaten 6l or 7l in three races at 1m but those were at top tracks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 -146%)Tamzan |
16/1(-146%) | (5) Tamzan 16/1, Taken on up front and did plenty early when third beaten 1 1/4l in a novice over 8f at Kempton last time. Effective at 8f and should benefit from further. Consistent and has a chance on handicap debut. Has run fairly well in all four races (7f-1m) and beaten a shade over 1l the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/3 +5%)Captain Cairney |
10/3(+5%) | (6) Captain Cairney 10/3, Won by 2 1/4l off 55 over 10f at Chelmsford on his penultimate start, then ran to form when second beaten a head off 59 last time. Effective at 8-10f and acts on the all-weather. Progressive since handicapping and remains competitive. Most exposed of these after seven runs but first and second in 1m2f Chelmsford nurseries. |

Mariotto comes in here on the back of a breakthrough Beverley success and must be respected on her nursery bow. However, TOASTMASTER makes more appeal as he's got the proven all-weather form and wasn't beaten far at this track on debut in August. Captain Cairney has experience on his side and will be hoping to put that to good use.

The filly TABASKO earned this initial mark at top tracks and she's marginally preferred ahead of Toastmaster.

2/1(+27%) | (1) Ciao Capo 2/1, Ran to form but given too much to do when ridden to see out the trip, beaten 3 1/2l off 57 at Southwell last time. Has a top course trainer, bred to be effective at 7f+, unexposed at 1m on the all-weather and could progress. Creditable 4th upped to 1m at Southwell last month; eased in grade and commands respect. |

2nd (7) (6/1 -100%)Lope Harswell |
6/1(-100%) | (7) Lope Harswell 6/1, Keen and given too much to do when ridden to see out the trip, beaten 2l off 46 over 7f here last time. Has some speed in the pedigree, with the dam a 8/10f winner; this step up in trip looks worth a try. Strong finish over 7f here 18 days ago; longer trip can help; not fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/1 +63%)Runninman |
6/1(+63%) | (2) Runninman 6/1, Again below debut level, down in trip and beaten 9 1/4l in a nursery over 5f at Ripon last time. Returns from a short break; pedigree shows a mix of speed and stamina, making this longer trip worth trying. Hard to recommend on his form over sprint trips; up in distance and down in class today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (2/1 +0%)Mr Nippy |
2/1(+0%) | (3) Mr Nippy 2/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 4l in a nursery here last time. Bred for 8f+, in form, and still early in his career. Good second over C&D earlier in the month; dangerous at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 +50%)Lope Y Linda |
11/2(+50%) | (5) Lope Y Linda 11/2, Had every chance but was below form when comfortably held in a nursery over 7f at Leicester last time. Showed promise over 5f and is bred for this trip, so may yet improve. Hopes rest on the step up in trip/switch to AW having a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (25/1 -213%)Harswell River |
25/1(-213%) | (4) Harswell River 25/1, Scored by a neck off 53 at Redcar three starts back, but was below form when sixth beaten 6l off 55 last time. Effective at 7/8f; needs to bounce back. Fully exposed but she has won over 1m and off today's mark; stable run two here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (80/1 -220%)Looks Likely |
80/1(-220%) | (6) Looks Likely 80/1, Did not find much when well beaten in a nursery at Southwell last time. Effective over 5-6f and on the all-weather, but has lost form recently and has stamina concerns. Heavy defeats on her last three starts and still to prove she needs this far. |

MR NIPPY was well held when second over C&D at the beginning of the month but that was still a promising effort. Off a 1lb lower mark, Charlie Johnston's colt just gets the vote ahead of Lope Harswell, who was only beaten a couple of lengths when fourth here last time. Others to note are Ciao Capo and Lope Y Linda.

Lope Harswell can benefit from the extra furlong but MR NIPPY can go one better than when second over C&D 23 days ago.

5/4(+0%) | (3) Cool Doc Boy 5/4, Very promising debut when runner-up, beaten a length by a more experienced rival in a novice at Kempton. 150/1(-127%) | (4) Distillation 150/1, Showed greenness and modest ability when well beaten in a 7f maiden at Newbury on only start. Bred for about 1m, so this easier test may still find 6f a bit sharp. 66-1 on Newbury debut (6.5f, soft) last month and he finished a remote sixth of seven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (33/1 -408%)Shotgun |
33/1(-408%) | (12) Shotgun 33/1, Improved for debut experience when third, beaten 2 1/2l in a 5f maiden here last time. Speedy pedigree and acts on all-weather; strong contender if building on that latest improvement. Showed some ability behind a 1-10 shot here last month and she's in the mix upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (28/1 +15%)Untilwemeetagain |
28/1(+15%) | (13) Untilwemeetagain 28/1, 28 Feb; Tasleet filly; half-sister to Total Lockdown, fair at 11f; dam fair at 7f at 2yo; blinkers first time. Half-sister to a middle-distance winner; blinkers are applied on debut; best watched. |

13th (11) (17/2 +53%)Princess Of Limnos |
17/2(+53%) | (11) Princess Of Limnos 17/2, 25 Apr; Aclaim filly; half-sister to Sarah's Verse, useful from 5f to 6f; dam poor at 8f; wide draw. One of two runners for yard and market should guide on debut. |

Paranjape improved from his first to second run and should go well if building on that latest Chelmsford third. However, he might find at least one too good because COOL DOC BOY is taken to do the business. He made a debut full of promise when second at Kempton five days ago and the quick turnaround suggests he's come out of that race well. Shotgun is also noted.

Preference is for COOL DOC BOY, who was heavily backed when a clear second on his Kempton debut last week.

9/2(-50%) | (3) Hostility 9/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 2 1/4l, in a novice at Southwell latest; suited by 7f and acts on any surface; recent form has been franked and he's well treated on Irish efforts though can be frustrating. Reliable but exposed and expensive to follow; this is another uncompetitive race though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (40/1 -21%)Al Muddy |
40/1(-21%) | (1) Al Muddy 40/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 3 1/4l in a novice over 7f here on debut; effective at 7f and acts on all-weather; the drop back in trip may not suit. Behind Shamacid here on debut three weeks ago; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (150/1 +25%)Approaching Dawn |
150/1(+25%) | (2) Approaching Dawn 150/1, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a maiden over 5f here last time; bred to want considerably further than 5f and has yet to show any ability. Finished last in two runs last month; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (16/1 +68%)Ruby Red Gove |
16/1(+68%) | (7) Ruby Red Gove 16/1, 3,000gns Showcasing filly; half-sister to Johnny Johnson, useful at 6f as a 2yo; dam was fair over 9f. 3,000gns half-sister to 6f AW winner Shine Honey Shine (RPR 65); market to guide. |

MONTEZIN has had a couple of attempts here and at Wolverhampton, finishing second on both occasions, and he knows enough about the game now to strike. Shamacid and Hostility are no strangers to finishing second either, but they are more exposed than the selection so Antony Brittain's charge might have that bit more scope for improvement. Keep an eye on Raveena too.

Hostility should go close again but he is vulnerable to improvers and MONTEZIN may fit that bill.

5/1(+23%) | (1) Dance Time 5/1, Returned to form down in grade to land a handicap by a short-head off 68 at Southwell last time; top course jockey; effective 13-16f; course scorer and remains on a competitive mark. Emerged from off the pace for a narrow win at Southwell (1m6f); only 1lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (3/1 +33%)Cardinal Point |
3/1(+33%) | (8) Cardinal Point 3/1, Scored by a short-head off 61 over 1m5f at Chelmsford on her penultimate start; suited by 12-14f; in good form and a solid chance again, with the slight drop in trip possibly helping. Beaten under a penalty at Lingfield (2m) but she's proving consistent; visor returns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 +8%)Prince Quattro |
11/2(+8%) | (4) Prince Quattro 11/2, Had too much to do but ran to form when beaten 4l off 65 over 2m at Newcastle last time; usually held up; effective up to 16f; in good form in both codes, unexposed on the Flat and fairly treated. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (8/1 +43%)Sawgrass |
8/1(+43%) | (3) Sawgrass 8/1, Ran to form, just tiring late on when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; effective at 14-16f; needs a hold-up ride and has been in fair form this autumn. Progress has stalled the last twice but heavy ground perhaps not ideal last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (28/1 -100%)Run Of Luck |
28/1(-100%) | (11) Run Of Luck 28/1, Ran to form and enjoyed the run of the race when 6l third in a handicap at Nottingham most recently; effective 10-12f; could benefit from the drop in trip. Three-time turf winner (1m2f/1m4f); on a perfectly good mark but AW form is worrying (0-3). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (18/1 -112%)Chambers |
18/1(-112%) | (9) Chambers 18/1, Raced a bit too freely up in trip and tired late when beaten 4l in a handicap over 12f at Kempton last time; effective at 1m2f; inconsistent since going handicapping. No wins in seven and hasn't been looking that well treated in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (7/2 -17%)Safe And Sound |
7/2(-17%) | (7) Safe And Sound 7/2, Outpaced and a bit below form when 6 1/4l third in a handicap over 11f at Kempton most recently; effective at 10/11f; capable of better and the new trip could suit. 0-5; retains potential but will need to settle better if she's to see out this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (9/1 +25%)Fleur De Mer |
9/1(+25%) | (6) Fleur De Mer 9/1, Ran to form when beaten a head off 63 at Southwell last time; effective 12-14f; in fair form but without a win in over two years. Hasn't won for a good while but continues to threaten, as when close up at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (9/1 +25%)Hot Topic |
9/1(+25%) | (10) Hot Topic 9/1, Ran to form when 4l third in a handicap over 10f at Bath most recently; trainer in form; effective at 8f; looks flattered on second start and needs to build on that latest effort. Disappointing given pedigree but ran better in her second handicap last time; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -257%)Damzon |
50/1(-257%) | (12) Damzon 50/1, Up in trip and may not have stayed when fourth beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap over 2m at Southwell latest; top course trainer; effective at 12f on this surface and may not get further; bit to prove. Beaten about 5l on stable debut at Southwell (2m) and she's now a 15-race maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (66/1 -200%)Nathanael Greene |
66/1(-200%) | (2) Nathanael Greene 66/1, Found nil when well beaten in a handicap at Redcar latest; effective up to 2m; out of form in both codes and mark still looks high. Regressive and there have been nothing to suggest he's about to turn a corner. |

Having regained the winning thread at Southwell last time out, DANCE TIME could be ready to celebrate once more. A 1lb nudge up in the ratings looks more than workable for the five-year-old and she edges the vote over Cardinal Point. Michael Bell's filly supplemented a triumph at Chelmsford with a respectable third at Lingfield earlier this month and another good account is forecast. Safe And Sound is the pick of the remainder.

Admirably consistent and with the return of a visor no bad thing, CARDINAL POINT could be the answer.

4th (2) (12/1 -20%)Coeur Jaune |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Coeur Jaune 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 71 at Southwell last time; suited by 1m; very consistent but the handicapper may be in charge. Two 1m turf wins this summer; progress stalled since but respected back against own sex. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (16/1 -60%)Samra Star |
16/1(-60%) | (1) Samra Star 16/1, Scored by 2l off 65 over 7f here in October; had every chance but was below form when fourth beaten 6 1/4l off 69 last time; effective from 7f to 9f, suited by all-weather; in good form until latest effort. 7f win here last month but not built on it since; others more appealing for the win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/4 +71%)Angel Of Rain |
7/4(+71%) | (3) Angel Of Rain 7/4, Made late gains when beaten 3l off 70 over 7f at Kempton last time; trainer in form; effective at 6f and 7f; fared better when dropped to this grade latest. Not fully exposed and looks ready for this new trip; high on the list. |

C&D 3rd in April was a good run; not got home in 2 handicaps over further; new tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (12/1 +0%)Princess Pw |
12/1(+0%) | (8) Princess Pw 12/1, Below form in first-time visor when fourth beaten 5l in a 7f handicap at Musselburgh latest; effective from 7f to 8f; has lost form and drops again in the weights. Return to AW in her favour but she is an exposed maiden and others appeal more. |

Look no further than SECOND FIDDLE. This admirable mare comes here chasing a six-timer and has really thrived over the track and trip in recent months. She might not be done progressing just yet on the evidence of her latest three-length success and it could be more of the same here. The dangers are Electric Avenue and Angel Of Rain.

Coeur Jaune is high on the list but stepping up to 1m can see ANGEL OF RAIN (nap) take a step forward.

13/2(-44%) | (2) Flowstate 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off 64 at Chelmsford last time; best at 6f and has proven himself on AW in last two runs; considered again. In form and well drawn to get that prominent position he likes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (12/1 -50%)Rye |
12/1(-50%) | (10) Rye 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 61 here last time; from a top course trainer; effective at 6/7f on AW; maiden who looks capable off similar marks and running into form. Runner-up in five of her ten starts, the last twice over C&D; should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (2/1 +76%)Act Of Violence |
2/1(+76%) | (9) Act Of Violence 2/1, Had every chance when beaten 1 1/2l off 61 at Redcar last time; top course jockey booked; suited by 6f on AW though has regressed. Wasn't far away at Redcar latest and should run well if handling the AW; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (18/1 -13%)Treacherous |
18/1(-13%) | (5) Treacherous 18/1, Never involved when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time; suited by 6f on AW; veteran remains out of sorts despite falling mark. Eight of his ten AW wins have come at Kempton; not the force of old and can be taken on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (9/1 +64%)Digital |
9/1(+64%) | (12) Digital 9/1, Short of room and never threatened when beaten 2 1/4l off 58 at Southwell last time; suited by 5f on AW; form has been going the wrong way. Multiple winner who continues to drop down the weights but he's looking hard to win with. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (11/2 +8%)Minnesota Lad |
11/2(+8%) | (7) Minnesota Lad 11/2, Ran to current form when beaten 3/4l off 62 over 5f at Southwell last time from a wide draw; effective at 6f on AW; on a long losing run but fairly treated. Close third at Southwell; returning to 6f is a positive but his draw isn't. |

17/2(+29%) | (8) Last Outlaw 17/2, Never competitive after missing the break when well beaten in a Chepstow handicap last time; in good form prior; off a short break; effective at 5/6f on AW but recent form has dipped. Dual turf winner over 5f; wasn't in bad form until disappointing on soft going at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (80/1 -142%)Coast |
80/1(-142%) | (13) Coast 80/1, Ran poorly when down the field in a handicap here last time; blinkers applied first time; enjoys making the running; effective at 6f on AW but looks regressive. Has won over C&D but doesn't return in much form and blinkers are tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (40/1 -60%)On Key |
40/1(-60%) | (4) On Key 40/1, Far too free up in trip and didn't stay when well beaten over 7f at Newcastle latest; off a short break; suited by 6f and acts on AW; bit to prove off tough mark. No wins in ten and left Julie Camacho for 4,000gns and after three laboured efforts. |

Flowstate attempts to end a frustrating run of seconds, but he could suffer the same fate once again with WAY TO DUBAI marginally preferred. The latter just failed to catch the winner at Lingfield four days ago, and Mick Appleby's charge may finally take advantage of a slide down the weights racing off an unchanged mark. Rye has been thereabouts here of late and is not totally discounted.

There's a good chance this will be strongly run and therefore WAY TO DUBAI might not be overly inconvenienced by dropping back to 6f.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 -56%)Evocative Spark |

25/1(-127%) | (11) Patontheback 25/1, Every chance and ran to form when beaten 2l off 64 at Wolverhampton last time; wide draw. Suited by 7f and wants a sound surface; form can vary. None too consistent but this C&D winner isn't handicapped out of things. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (6/1 +33%)Finn Ironside |
6/1(+33%) | (5) Finn Ironside 6/1, Won a handicap by a length off 64 here two starts ago. Made too much use of last time and finished down the field; effective at 7f and generally consistent, though the mark looks stiff. Won twice in the summer, including C&D; last time easy to excuse and he can't be dismissed. |

FINN IRONSIDE landed the second leg of a double when making all over C&D in August and another bold bid looks on the cards if allowed his own way in front once again. Judgment Call has yet to win on the all-weather but went close here in September and is not out of it, while Blufferonthebus returns to the Tapeta in fine fettle having scored at Musselburgh at the start of the month.

A trappy race. JKR Cobbler and EVOCATIVE SPARK were below par on their latest starts but can quickly bounce back.

12th (3) (18/1 +10%)Roberto Caro |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Roberto Caro 18/1, Far too free when down the field in a 6f Doncaster handicap last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective at 6f on any surface, mark looks about right. Won at Chepstow in August but disappointing in both subsequent runs; tongue-tie now added. |

An easy winner here last time, Al Muqdad has a 10lb hike to contend with in this tougher contest and CALYXOH makes more appeal. The latter finished a close fourth at Kempton on last month's all-weather debut, having won at Newbury during the summer, and that points to a big run here with Jane Chapple-Hyam's yard in fine form. Bell Shot drops in class and could prove competitive on his return from a layoff.

This can go to AL MUQDAD, who was an emphatic winner over C&D 16 days ago and remains feasibly treated on his best form.

1st (2) (7/1 -40%)Studious |
7/1(-40%) | (2) Studious 7/1, Had every chance but ran below form when beaten 5l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 7–8f with most form on the all-weather. Has dropped to an interesting mark but remains unreliable. Two Tapeta wins around the turn of the year; good mark but has a mixed record since May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 +45%)Joseph |
3/1(+45%) | (6) Joseph 3/1, Below form when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Suited by 8f and all form on the all-weather. Edging down the weights but remains an exposed maiden. Inconsistent maiden but conditions no problem and hes down to a lowly mark; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/2 +17%)Yafaarr |
5/2(+17%) | (4) Yafaarr 5/2, Won by a neck off 60 here two runs ago and ran to form when second, beaten 1 1/4l off 66 last time. Effective at 7–8f and handles the all-weather. In form and another good effort looks likely. C&D win last month and ran well for second here (7f) this month; big player back at a mile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/1 -33%)Emery Down |
6/1(-33%) | (3) Emery Down 6/1, Returned to form down in grade when beaten 2l off 68 over 7f here last time. Effective at 7f and on the all-weather. Needs to build on that recent revival. Back to form when 3rd over 7f here 17 days ago; one of two runners for John Butler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 +60%)Jamaican Storm |
4/1(+60%) | (5) Jamaican Storm 4/1, Raced far too freely when beaten 4 1/2l in a 7f handicap at Redcar last time. Has a wide draw but effective at 7–8f and best on the all-weather. Excuses for recent runs and now lower in the weights. 0-9 but seems better on AW and the return to this surface could see a full revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (12/1 -9%)Jachin |
12/1(-9%) | (7) Jachin 12/1, Scored by 2l off 59 here three starts back but was far too free when seventh, beaten 10l off 65 last time. Suited by 1m and acts on the all-weather. A hold-up ride suits though he can be inconsistent. C&D win in September but he hasn't backed it up twice since; not a solid option. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (8/1 -78%)Roaring Twenties |
8/1(-78%) | (1) Roaring Twenties 8/1, Outpaced and had too much to do when beaten 2l off 70 over 7f at Redcar last time. Blinkers go on for the first time, trainer in form. Effective at 7f on a sound surface, though inconsistent. The step back up in trip could suit. 0-6 but not beaten far at Redcar (7f) three weeks ago; blinkers now enlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (150/1 -436%)Precious Sapphire |
150/1(-436%) | (8) Precious Sapphire 150/1, Has shown no worthwhile form and returns from a break. Bred to appreciate 1m or further but showed nothing in maidens, leaving plenty to prove in handicaps. Poor form in three turf starts; out of the weights on handicap debut; plenty to prove. |

YAFAARR is holding his form well and finished a creditable second over 7f here last time. A winner over C&D prior to that, Sam England's charge looks worthy of another chance. Studious is well treated on his winning form on the all-weather and could bounce back, while Emery Down has a bit to prove over this distance but a good effort over 7f here recently offered something to work on.

The return to AW could see JAMAICAN STORM bounce back to form and he's well handicapped if that proves the case. Yafaarr is feared.

Won at Chepstow in September and was a close second over C&D last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (6/1 +40%)Liv My Life |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Liv My Life 6/1, Ran to current form when beaten 3 1/2l off 67 over 8f at Chelmsford last time; trainer in good form; effective over 7f or 8f on the all-weather; recent form has been a little in and out. On dangerous mark and was fair fourth at Chelmsford latest but she needs to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (18/1 -140%)Toralou |
18/1(-140%) | (4) Toralou 18/1, Disappointing back in a handicap when beaten 9l over 8f at Kempton last time; previously in good form; returns from a short break; suited by a mile and a sound surface; possibly a little flattered by her maiden win. Won at Musselburgh in August but she flopped back on turf at Kempton latest; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (11/2 +31%)Antiquity |
11/2(+31%) | (7) Antiquity 11/2, Never threatened after missing the break when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time; effective around 8f on the all-weather; enthusiasm can be a concern. Triple 1m winner in first half of the year but he's been out of sorts in last four runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 +29%)Dream Pirate |
5/1(+29%) | (2) Dream Pirate 5/1, Won by a nose off 65 over 8f at Yarmouth two starts ago; outclassed up in grade when eighth beaten 8l off 68 last time; returns from a short break; effective at 1m and generally consistent of late. Won at Yarmouth in September but he's not easy to predict and was beaten 8l last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (11/2 -83%)Saxon Kingdom |
11/2(-83%) | (9) Saxon Kingdom 11/2, Didn't handle the surface when fourth beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Laytown last time; returns from a short break; effective over 7f to 8f on the all-weather; inconsistent but yard does well with new recruits. Just 1-31 but on a competitive mark and needs a close look on first run for James Owen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (11/1 +21%)Mullwarchar |
11/1(+21%) | (8) Mullwarchar 11/1, Too free when stepped up in trip and didn't get home when comfortably held in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; effective over 7f to 8f on the all-weather; needs to settle better after a break. Unexposed 3yo; has been gelded but he needs a transformation back on AW on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (18/1 -50%)Token Gesture |
18/1(-50%) | (6) Token Gesture 18/1, Raced wide and again shaped as though 8f may suit when beaten 3l off 67 over 7f at Kempton last time; back from a short break; effective at 7f on the all-weather and could improve up in trip. Won at Kempton (7f, AW) last September but he's not gone on from that; needs to find more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (9/2 +18%)Beaming Light |
9/2(+18%) | (3) Beaming Light 9/2, Too free and found little when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Southwell last time; ridden by a top course jockey; effective at 8f on all-weather; has thrived this summer but mark may now be high enough. Completed hat-trick in June but he's been up and down since and comes with risks attached. |

ERNIE'S VALENTINE arrives in fine fettle, having gone close in both outings since scoring over a mile at Chelmsford in September. The son of Havana Gold found only one too good over this C&D last time and this looks a slightly easier assignment. Toralou is not dismissed off her current mark if forgiven a below par latest effort, while Liv My Life could figure from a tempting rating if rediscovering her best.

This can go to ERNIE'S VALENTINE, who has been in good form on AW this autumn including a strong-finishing second over C&D last time.

1st (6) (7/2 +30%)Dark Rosa |
7/2(+30%) | (6) Dark Rosa 7/2, Did too much too soon when upped in trip and was beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Kempton last time. Effective at 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather; has the ability but the longer trip remains a concern. Her first run for this yard was better than the second; others more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/4 +45%)Serious Look |
11/4(+45%) | (2) Serious Look 11/4, Won by 1 1/4l off a mark of 64 here on his penultimate start and ran to form when seventh, beaten 3l, off 68 last time. Effective at 10f and acts on all-weather; shows a good attitude and remains fairly treated on old form. High in the weights now and this sharp a test is probably not ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (20/1 -43%)Pitney |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Pitney 20/1, Did not find much when beaten 7l in a handicap over 8f at Chelmsford last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather; dropping in the weights but still has something to prove. Won twice for Hugo Palmer but very quiet this year and has many questions to answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 -33%)Rhythm N Rock |
8/1(-33%) | (3) Rhythm N Rock 8/1, Below form when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap over 8f at Kempton last time. Usually held up; effective at 1m and acts on all-weather, but appears regressive. Stuck on a long losing run and his form has been cold for a while now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 +20%)Troy Story |
4/1(+20%) | (5) Troy Story 4/1, Never threatened when beaten 4l in a handicap over 7f at Kempton last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on all-weather; possibly a little flattered by his nursery form. 0-9 but has competitive form; if back to best he'd have a chance in this bad a race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (50/1 -1400%)Cloch Nua |
50/1(-1400%) | (8) Cloch Nua 50/1, Slowly away and left with too much to do when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Doncaster last time. Had been in good form previously; effective from 7f to 8f and acts on all-weather; generally consistent performer. Has shown he can cope with this mark but has been out for a good while. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (4/1 +20%)Reddeef |
4/1(+20%) | (7) Reddeef 4/1, Still below his best in first-time blinkers when fourth, beaten 5l, in a handicap over 8f at Nottingham latest. Trainer in form; effective at 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather; drops again in the weights but more is needed. Consistent but yet to win and has yet to prove that he fully stays an extended 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (12/1 +14%)Bavaria Iron |
12/1(+14%) | (1) Bavaria Iron 12/1, Stopped quickly and was well beaten in a handicap over 8f at Musselburgh last time. Effective from 8f to 10f and acts on all-weather; drops in trip with first-time tongue-tie but has plenty to prove for his new yard. Tailed off in two runs for current yard and soft ground wasn't an excuse. |

DARK ROSA has shown promise in her last two starts at Kempton and those efforts suggest that she can play a leading role in a moderate event such as this. Cloch Nua has a good record on the all-weather and he has to be noted, although a 213-day break is a concern. Others to note are Reddeef, Serious Look and Troy Story.

He might not be that well handicapped and ideally wants further, but SERIOUS LOOK still appeals as the safest option.

1st (4) (28/1 -75%)Basholo |
28/1(-75%) | (4) Basholo 28/1, Scored by 3/4l off 57 here on her penultimate start; far too free when 13th beaten 6 1/4l off 62 last time; effective at 5f on AW; erratic and needs to settle better. Hard to predict but he won here on penultimate run; dangerous if he can bounce back again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (4/1 +0%)Gustav Graves |
4/1(+0%) | (9) Gustav Graves 4/1, A bit free but built on his recent return to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 51 here last time; trainer in form; wide draw; suited by 5f on AW; remains well treated on old form. Finished well to beat Sam's Xpress over C&D latest; big player again off 6lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (15/2 +81%)Candy Warhol |
15/2(+81%) | (5) Candy Warhol 15/2, Far too free and beaten 5l in a 6f handicap here last time; returning from a short break; effective at 5-6f on AW; has struggled since his summer win and has never scored off a mark this high. Triple course winner but he needs to get back on track after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (3/1 +67%)Invincible Crown |
3/1(+67%) | (2) Invincible Crown 3/1, Scored by a short head off 63 here on his penultimate start; never threatened when tenth beaten 5l off 64 last time; effective at 5f and acts on AW; should be competitive. Didn't shine at Newcastle latest but he's had two wins over C&D this autumn; dangerous. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (4/1 -14%)Sam's Xpress |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Sam's Xpress 4/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off 55 here on his penultimate start; kicked on too soon and was caught late when second beaten 1 1/4l off 60 last time; enjoys making the running; effective 5-6f on AW; well treated on Irish form and improving for his new yard. 2-5 for current yard and was runner-up behind Gustav Graves over C&D latest; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (80/1 -60%)She Went Whoosh |
80/1(-60%) | (10) She Went Whoosh 80/1, Found little when finishing down the field in a handicap here last time; effective at 5f and best on AW; out of form since her spring win. Record of 1-20 and she struggled on recent stable debut over C&D; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (9/1 -20%)So Smart |
9/1(-20%) | (7) So Smart 9/1, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/2l off 60 here last time; enjoys making the running; suited by 5f and acts on AW; in fair form and consistent at this level. All five wins have been on turf but was a good second over C&D 16 days ago; possibilities. |

Gustav Graves beat Sam's Xpress (second) in a similar C&D event three weeks ago, but 6lb and 3lb rises respectively mean that they could both be vulnerable here. With that in mind, preference is for SO SMART, who was second over track and trip last time and merits respect off the same mark. Alshimali could be the main danger after his recent Lingfield third.

Plenty have possibilities but the vote goes to course specialist GUSTAV GRAVES, who cashed in on a reduced mark here three weeks ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
