LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

DOCTOR KILDARE hasn't looked back since joining Sam Thomas and going handicapping, winning a conditionals' event at Bangor before taking full advantage of escaping a penalty at Hereford. He has a 6lb higher mark to contend with but should be up to it. Sunshine Diamond failed in his hat-trick mission at Fontwell back in April but, as long as he is ready to roll, he should give the selection most to think about. Romeo Brown is just about the pick of the other two.

Provided DOCTOR KILDARE takes to a change of headgear, a 6lb rise might not matter all that much in this weak a handicap.

After a promising start to his career, ARCTIC VOYAGE endured a disappointing three-year-old campaign on the level but showed more spark when runner-up on his jumping bow at Sedgefield. The winner has run well again since, while the third has come out and won, so the form is solid. Junkyard Dog would be dangerous on his Irish form but maybe it is worth looking to a hurdling newcomer for the chief threat, with Keyboard possibly the pick of them.

His useful Flat form was shy of a mile but ARCTIC VOYAGE still ran well on his hurdling debut and he's on a flatter track here.

HARBOUR ISLAND won two bumpers last season before chasing home the exciting Mydaddypaddy on his hurdling debut at Carlisle earlier in the month. Based on that evidence, Olly Murphy's gelding appears to be the safest pick in a competitive event. Act Of Innocence was fourth in a Listed bumper here in February and won at Taunton the following month. He has to be noted on his debut for Nicky Henderson, while Sinnatra completes the shortlist.

An interesting race in which recent C&D runner-up SINNATRA gets the vote ahead of Harbour Island and Act Of Innocence.

AQUA BLEU will have given connections plenty to look forward to with his debut effort when just denied by a Nicky Henderson-trained juvenile at Hereford. Improvement is anticipated, although it may not even be needed for him to go one better here. Laysoft sprung a 28/1 surprise at Huntingdon, but she was a fair way behind Big Love when they were fourth and fifth at Market Rasen prior to that.

The only runner with hurdling experience is AQUA BLEU and that was a promising start he made at Hereford.

HEAVEN SMART's jumping let him down at Perth but he was in fine form before it, tasting success at the same venue before almost backing it up at Southwell. That earns him another chance, while Getaway Jewel is another on a retrieval mission after his solid level of consistency came to an abrupt end at Worcester. Divas Doyen made a decent return from a break when third at Kelso and could get involved in the finish.

Another chance is given to HEAVEN SMART, who flopped last time but looked revitalised by a wind op on his previous two outings.

MAMBONUMBERFIVE created a big impression when making a winning debut over fences at Aintree three weeks ago and Ben Pauling's four-year-old can defy a 5lb higher mark on this occasion. Palacio bolted up on his fencing bow at Chepstow and he should not be underestimated. Most of the remainder also have claims, but Secret Des Dieux and Captain Bellamy are the pick of them.

The 4yo MAMBONUMBERFIVE created a good impression on his Aintree chase debut and this sizeable sort could have plenty more in the tank.

A point-to-point winner before backing it up with a NH Flat race brace, DALSTON LAD was pitched into the Champion Bumper. He understandably came up short there, and also flopped on his hurdling debut on his Cheltenham comeback, but that outing has hopefully taken the fizz out of him and he can make amends. Gillespie made the frame, albeit beaten a fair way, at Chepstow and should step forward. Matty's Getaway and Quay Item are worth a look too.

It's not hard to give another chance to useful bumper performer DALSTON LAD who was suffering from ulcers on his hurdling debut.

CHANONRY POINT won a bumper here in March and she showed plenty of promise, despite being a beaten favourite, when filling second place on her hurdling debut at Perth. A deceptively trappy contest, not least because all four are returning from an absence. Hurricane Bay was last seen winning at Fakenham, but this is a tougher test and MOON ROCKET gets the vote. The five-year-old was pulled up in the Sefton Novices' Hurdle at Aintree, but the point-to-point winner had been progressive prior and chasing promises to be more his game. Henri The Second flopped on his sole fencing effort but it's far too soon to write him off in this sphere, while similar comments apply to Bugise Seagull.

A tight race in which preference is for MOON ROCKET whose hurdling career was going well until pulled in a Grade 1 at Aintree.

It is hard to oppose MAGNOLIA, who arrives here on the back of two impressive wins at Kelso. Better is expected of him now he tackles fences and the stable won this with a chasing newcomer two years ago. Kingston Pride is another force to be reckoned with.

Grade 1 novice hurdle runner-up REGENT'S STROLL gets the nod on his chase debut, while Kingston Pride could be the main danger.

Grain D'oudairies put his rivals to the sword at Kelso and an 8lb rise doesn't look particularly harsh, while it is interesting that Willie Mullins opts to send unexposed chaser Road To Home across the Irish Sea. Alien Storm and Tapley both arrive on the back of victories, as does TARAS HALLS, who shades preference. The seven-year-old landed a gamble in first-time blinkers at Newcastle a fortnight ago and he might have been underestimated by a 6lb rise.

As a chaser there should be plenty more to come from ROAD TO HOME who wasn't disgraced in a good beginners' chase last time.

DUBAI HONOUR burned the fingers of favourite-backers when this race was run at Newcastle last year, but it teed him up nicely for another trip across the globe and he can stamp his class on this field before presumably heading overseas again. Shader was backed as if defeat was out of the question when upped to Listed company at Kempton and so it proved as he stormed home by nine lengths. He looks a nice prospect, especially for this time of year. Royal Playwright has a squeak too.

Strong Leader made a successful return to action in this last year and has a run under his belt this time after his Wetherby win. He had to dig deep to deny Take No Chances, though, and Doddiethegreat wasn't that far behind them. IMPOSE TOI could be an exciting new addition to the staying hurdling division because he handled the step up to an extended 3m with aplomb at Aintree. Last season's Coral Cup runner-up could have even more to offer and gets a handy 6lb from Strong Leader.

Last year's winner Strong Leader holds strong claims once more but concedes 6lb to rising star IMPOSE TOI, who can capitalise.

ROGUE LIGHTNING began 2025 by picking up a valuable prize in Qatar and then went close in a Keeneland Grade 2 before struggling at Churchill Downs. He didn't run badly in the July Cup and has been freshened up since so is given another chance. He does need to prove himself on the surface and if it is his undoing, course winner Royal Zabeel could be the one to take advantage. Tapeta is no problem for Marshman either, while Zoum Zoum is one from one on the all-weather but that came on the Kempton Polytrack over two years ago.

Given his smart AW form and a fine record fresh this looks a good opportunity for MARSHMAN (nap) to make a winning return to action.

He hardly broke sweat to land the odds at Wetherby and an initial mark of 118 seems generous. Diamond Ri remains a smart prospect and returns from the sidelines for an in-form stable, while Thunder Rock is well treated in this sphere and can go well fresh.

This could go to topweight CLASSIC KING, who may well have untapped potential over staying trips. Diamond Ri is a danger.

RAGING RAJ overcame a terrible passage to land the odds at Kempton last week and was value for much more than the narrow winning margin. With that in mind, he can carry his penalty to a follow-up triumph, although Station Bar was only just denied on the same card and is able to compete from the same rating so has to be feared. Stay Sharp tries an artificial surface again on the back of a breakthrough Yarmouth victory, and Gunalt Wavelength is just one more to consider in a competitive nursery.

Top of the list is RAGING RAJ who has really clicked since switched to nurseries and did well to overcome trouble at Kempton last week.

FRANTIC looked greatly in need of the run but still very nearly managed to make a successful start to her career at Leicester, getting within a short head of a filly with previous experience. The daughter of Frankel should know much more about what is required of her and will relish the extra furlong. Too Hot To Tango should be winning races before too long, but is more exposed than the selection. Heart Beats True took a step forward to finish second at Newcastle, while Treasured Moments is an interesting newcomer.

This can to the well-bred FRANTIC who went close on her Leicester debut and is open to progress on this step up in trip.

Moon Beginnings made a winning debut by beating a horse now rated 75, getting 2lb, at Chester. Although that was an impressive way to begin his career and there should be more to come, he is up against it now attempting to concede 5lb to the 87-rated CHAMPAGNE POWDER. Oliver Cole's gelding earned his initial mark with some good French efforts and while only mid-division in a Newbury handicap last time, there was enough merit in the performance to suggest he should be up to winning this. Digub completes the shortlist.

Champagne Powder sets a useful standard back in calmer waters but slight preference is for Chester debut winner MOON BEGINNINGS.

Enthusiastically has admittedly shown improved form since then and scored over C&D earlier this month. Manifest Destiny ran well over a mile here a fortnight ago.

VINCE LOMBARDI arrives here on the back of two wins in recent weeks and a 3lb rise for the latest of those victories may not be enough to stop him from making it a hat-trick. Raft Up has been knocking on the door of late and should be in the mix once again, while similar comments apply to Wichahpi and Mumayaz.

A competitive sprint. Massimo Blue will be happier back over 6f but WICHAHPI may have his measure this time.

BEIJINHO hasn't raced since August but is proven over C&D. From a good American family, she showed ability on debut and confirmed that promise with another useful effort. That latest form has worked out nicely, with both the winner and third scoring subsequently. Indigo Dream disappointed somewhat on her most recent run in May, finishing behind Angelight, with both fillies possessing some soft-ground form and now return following breaks. Yutori showed improvement on her third start recently and can step forward again.

This looks between three returning from breaks, with slight preference given to INDIGO DREAM, but the market should be heeded

Having completed a double when making a triumphant handicap bow at Wolverhampton, SOLARIZE is one to keep the right side of. Dramatic Star found himself with too much to do on his latest fourth at Kempton and cannot be ruled out, while last-start course scorer Tryfan warrants respect in his follow-up bid.

Dramatic Star and TRYFAN are dropping in trip but could still have more to offer. The selection was impressive here when last seen.

GLEN AND TONIC has run well in two recent course handicaps and contests a winnable maiden. She initially showed some promise in smart maidens and while she has been beaten twice at this venue, she has competed well on both occasions and is a dependable type. Innumerable finished behind the selection here 16 days ago, but is better than that showing as her saddle slipped forward. Daring Grace started at big odds on her introduction in a useful maiden last month, but ran satisfactorily and should get involved.

David Marnane has been in fine form of late and GLEN AND TONIC can go one better than her recent nursery second back in calmer waters

MR KOBE ran well here last time and may be able to score. The Bungle Inthejungle gelding led early in the straight over C&D before eventually finishing fourth to Friendly Invoice. A similar effort may be enough to land a moderate affair. Mini Cotai stayed on to finish fifth at a big price here a week ago over the minimum trip. Going back up to six should suit and she could play a bigger role. Femme Beauty had some decent form on turf during the summer and may appreciate dropping back in trip having been well held here a fortnight ago.

Few of them make huge appeal here, so perhaps \MR KOBE\p can score after finishing fourth over C&D 16 days ago

COLLECTIVE POWER has run well to be placed in a couple of competitive sprint handicaps here on his last two visits and may be able to defy top weight now down slightly in grade. The Slade Power gelding is a three-time C&D winner and has slipped to an attractive rating. Sorcha Woods eases his burden with her 7lb claim. Nikki Swango comes here in fine form and bids for a hat-trick. Her recent wins have come over 7f, though. Rappell, a winner here in September, stayed on well to finish fourth off his revised mark a fortnight ago and is another to consider.

Billy Lee can make all the difference on RAPPELL (nap), who got going far too late last time but remains off a workable mark

Joseph O'Brien does well with fillies picked up from abroad and CORNELIENNE is an interesting runner. The daughter of Golden Horn was a 250,000-euro purchase last December having been narrowly denied in a Listed event at Fontainebleau the previous month. A mark of 94 could be lenient in handicap company. Smart hurdler Gaucher is another fascinating contender. The Frankel gelding won twice on the level in France before joining Willie Mullins, although this trip is a bit of an unknown. Gentleman Joe won an amateurs' contest during the summer and is another to consider.

Gaucher is potentially thrown in on the Flat but BRYANT looked a stayer when winning at Roscommon and has age on his side

The well-bred CANDIDLY ran a big race here last time and looks capable of taking one of these off this kind of mark. She kicked a couple of lengths clear turning for home but was collared in the closing stages, losing out by just a neck and a head when third to Porsche Lad. Cherry Pink won over C&D last week and could play a big role again after just a 4lb rise. Tribal Moon steps up in trip on his first start for new connections after two solid placed efforts here last month. He's another for the shortlist.

Moyassr looks progressive but the reopposing BENAVENTE has been running well in defeat and will appreciate the step up in trip
