Having built on his eye-catching fourth at Newcastle when subsequently landing the spoils at the same venue last month, BETTER is one to keep on side at present. A 4lb higher mark looks far from insurmountable for the three-year-old and he's taken to follow up. Fortunate Star hasn't been disgraced in four outings since his last spin on the all-weather and he's feared most off a career-low mark. Bernard Spierpoint and Sirius White are others to consider.

BETTER took advantage of a reduced mark at Newcastle recently and remaining well treated on old form, Paul Midgley's 3-y-o is fancied to follow up with the experienced Simon Walker taking over in the plate. He can get the better of Under Curfew, who can have a line put through his latest effort. Bernard Spierpoint and Fortunate Star can fight out minor honours.

The choice is WAKAI UMI who has an absence to overcome, but the track should suit her style of racing and she is on a competitive mark.

STEEL TIGER posted a solid third on his handicap bow off a mark of 82 at Nottingham last month and he holds leading claims back in maiden company. The son of Almanzor does have to prove his effectiveness debuting on Tapeta, but his race experience could prove crucial. Jane Temple and At No Time both finished second on their respective opening bids and, being open to improvement, they must also enter calculations.

JANE TEMPLE shaped with abundant promise when finishing runner-up on debut in a Kempton maiden (11f) 5 weeks ago, doing well to finish as close as she did in a race run at a stop-start gallop. Open to significant improvement, she's selected to come out on top, with At No Time and Steel Tiger others to consider. William Walton is another to keep an eye on.

The Gosdens' Siyouni filly JANE TEMPLE is taken to build on the considerable promise of her Kempton debut second and get off the mark.

LADY ROSE HACKETT makes her reappearance, but has already shown form on similar ground to what she is likely to encounter here and contests a winnable race. Her dam finished third in a Supreme Novices' Hurdle and while she herself won on point-to-point debut before disappointing slightly in a bumper, ran better over hurdles in May. The winner, who scored again subsequently, runner-up and fourth-placed horse from that Tipperary race had all previously won bumpers. Brave Fortune has shown promise on occasions and is race-fit, but disappointed at Kilbeggan in May and was also well enough held at Listowel in September. Charlie's Dilemma has been running consistently well on similar ground over middle-to-staying distances and again has strong place claims.

Only a handful of these make any serious appeal, LADY ROSE HACKETT selected to build on her hurdling-debut third at Tipperary when last seen 6 months ago for her in-form yard. Brave Fortune sets a fairly useful standard on her form towards the backend of last season, so he looks the obvious danger, with Charlie's Dilemma and Ad Caelum taken to fight out third spot.

There's a chance that BRAVE FORTUNE will come on from his return and both better ground and further should suit this time

Hooper posted a good effort in defeat when third on his last start in May and returns off a 4lb lower mark here. However, the vote goes to SCHMILSSON, who returned from a break to pip a subsequent winner at Wetherby and is just 3lb higher. The five-year-old makes only his third handicap start in this sphere so there should be more to come. King William Rufus is the pick of the remainder.

JUNKANOO looks attractively handicapped on some of last season's novice form having eased in the weights, so he receives the tentative vote with the drop back in trip likely to suit. King William Rufus seems likely to go well again back in handicap company, with recent Wetherby scorer Schmilsson another to consider.

Wetherby scorer SCHMILSSON gets the vote, ahead of King William Rufus who is another solid contender.
Class & Speed Card

Of Course You Can is 10lb higher than her recent C&D success which came following a break and it remains to be seen if the six-year-old can handle a quicker turnaround. School Days Over is likely to prove happier back over timber having been pulled up at Chepstow last month, but the vote goes to THANK YOU MA'AM. Runner-up on his return at Wincanton, the addition of cheekpieces seem to be a positive move in his bid to gain a first career success.

OF COURSE YOU CAN has been raised 10 lb for last month's C&D success but she won in emphatic fashion and may be able to follow up. Thank You Ma'am and Jocata rate the principal dangers.

This has an open look to it. SCHOOL DAYS OVER had been in solid form until disappointing on his return to fences at Chepstow.

FAST FRED ran out a comfortable winner when opening his account in a 14-runner affair over 1m2f at Redcar 10 days ago and a 5lb penalty is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Phillip Makin's gelding is 5lb well-in and he should take all of the beating if coping with the extra two furlongs. Fellow penalised winner Apache Canyon is also heading in the right direction and the three-year-old rates as the biggest danger, ahead of Stintino Sunset.

FAST FRED showed much improved form when opening his account with ease at Redcar 10 days ago and, completely unexposed at this sort of trip, he makes plenty of appeal under a penalty. Fellow last-time-out winner Apache Canyon is next best. Stintino Sunset and The Bay Warrior complete the shortlist.

It's hard to ignore the claims of FAST FRED who is ahead of his mark under a 5lb penalty for his impressive Redcar victory.
Class & Speed Card

HERBIES ROVER has shown nice ability in two recent runs and has a light weight under his 5lb claimer. He raced too keenly when running well at Listowel in September and bumped into a promising winner in a useful race at Limerick last month. Being a four-year-old, he can continue to progress and is well suited by conditions. Romany Brown was pulled up on point-to-point debut, but was supported at Fairyhouse last month when finishing third. He, too, seems to be suited by conditions, although the selection has shown slightly stronger form. Gino Bella showed promise when well backed on her bumper debut back in April, but lacks a recent run ahead of her hurdles bow.

This can go to HERBIES ROVER, who upped his game significantly at Limerick last month and remains low mileage. Hurdling debutants Romany Brown and Gino Bella may give him most to think about.

This can go the way of HERBIES ROVER who produced his best effort yet when 3rd at Limerick and he sets the standard
Class & Speed Card

PURE CARBON made a pleasing hurdling debut when second at Warwick last month and he should have learned a great deal from the experience. With normal improvement, he could prove very hard to beat. The main threat might be Roysse, who struck in a bumper here in January and is an interesting contender on his first start over timber. Smart Flat performer L'astronome needs to be monitored in the market, with the booking of Harry Cobden catching the eye.

It's probably fair to say that PURE CARBON was flattered by his proximity to the winner when runner-up on hurdles debut at Warwick, but the horse that beat him that day looks pretty useful and, in any case, it was a very promising start to his career in this sphere. Harry Derham's charge is taken to go one better here, perhaps at the expense of L'Astronome, who is an interesting recruit from the Flat for the burgeoning James Owen yard. Bumper-winner Roysse is also of strong interest.

Judged on his bumper form, ROYSSE holds particularly strong claims. Pure Carbon is feared most.
Class & Speed Card

USUARIO AMIGO settled well in the first-time hood when finishing runner-up on his hurdling bow at Kempton having not raced over further than a mile on the Flat. The James Owen string couldn't be in better form at present and this sharp track is likely to play to his strengths. See The Green won over 1m4f on the level and has been gelded ahead of his stable bow, while Offiah's Boy is another to note.

Winter ground may pose USUARIO AMIGO a problem later in the season but with this emphasis on speed for now, he can outclass these. See The Green displayed more than enough on the level to make him the chief threat now tackling obstacles.

It wasn't a good race in which USUARIO AMIGO finished second at Kempton but neither is this. A sharp two miles is what he needs.
Class & Speed Card

Wilde And Dandy bounced back to form when scoring at Chelmsford on his most recent start and he is likely to be on the premises off 4lb higher. However, CROWN'S LADY gets the nod. Craig Lidster's three-year-old was denied by the narrowest of margins over track and trip five days ago and competes off the same rating. Provided she can back that performance up, she could be the one to beat. Last-time-out winner Novak completes the shortlist.

CROWN'S LADY has struck up a good relationship with William Pyle and the pair were only narrowly chinned here last week. They can gain compensation. Novak and Wilde And Dandy can also make their presence felt.

Craig Lidster's C&D winner CROWN'S LADY can race off the same mark as when a close second here last time out so looks the way to go.
Class & Speed Card

TAG MAN has top weight but is perfectly suited by this distance and good ground. A previous course chase winner, he was well held when conceding weight to the smart Saint Sam at Cork in August but, later that month, defeated capable types at Down Royal and a reproduction would give him every chance. Donkey Years won at the 2022 Punchestown Festival but while he should remain competitive off 7lb higher than when scoring at Listowel in September, he would prefer easier ground. Tullyveery Lad was beaten by a nicely-in winner at Limerick last month and should again compete, while the reappearing Tranquil Sea is just a four-year-old so might progress some more.

TULLYVEERY LAD was unlucky to bump into one on a steep upward curve at Limerick 18 days ago and a reproduction of that form could be enough to see him go one better. Tranquil Sea has good claims if ready to roll on this return to action, while Tag Man also requires plenty of respect hailing from an in-form stable.

TULLYVEERY LAD arrives on back of a career best seccond at Limerick and the third from that contest went close at Down Royal last week
Class & Speed Card

Destroytheevidence justified favouritism by two lengths at Chepstow on his chasing bow and should mount another bold bid, despite a 5lb rise. However, COLLECTORS ITEM made a strong impression when bolting up in first-time blinkers at Uttoxeter in May and only has a 7lb higher mark to contend with. If the seven-year-old can run to a similar level of form on his return, he will prove tough to beat. Rock My Way is another to note on his first start for the Anthony Charlton stable.

DESTROYTHEEVIDENCE was well prepared and justified good support after 8 months off when successful on chase debut at Chepstow 4 weeks ago. Open to improvement in this sphere, he's fancied to make a bold bid to make it 2-2. Collectors Item, who responded very well to blinkers when scoring at Uttoxeter in May, is another to note on return, whilst it will be intriguing to see how Hugos New Horse figures now chasing.

Good prospect DESTROYTHEEVIDENCE (nap) is taken to follow up his Chepstow success. Rock My Way is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

NED CASH produced his best effort so far when second at Uttoxeter on his debut for Nigel Twiston-Davies last month and the six-year-old is likely to have more to offer now sent chasing for the first time. Everyonesacritic shaped as though he would be better for the experience when down the field at Stratford and the handicapper may have been lenient in dropping him 4lb. A repeat of Gerard Mentor's penultimate success at Worcester gives him a chance too.

Those with chasing experience don't set a tall standard to aim at so NED CASH is fancied to make a winning start in this sphere for his in-form yard at the expense of Gerard Mentor, who won on his penultimate outing at Worcester and can shrug off a dismal effort at Southwell since. Everyonesacritic was entitled to need the outing on his recent chase bow, so he completes the shortlist.

By a long way, NED CASH ran the best race last time out when second over hurdles and he's bred to improve for fences.
Class & Speed Card

DEL RAY was just touched off by a neck into second on her nursery debut at Newcastle last month and goes off a 1lb higher mark. Archie Watson's juvenile has lots in her favour to go one better, with her main threat possibly being Sunshine State, who made the frame at Ayr in this grade last time and should go well. Qaseem looks best of the rest.

Preference is for HOT TO DOT, who got back on the up at Newcastle last week and remains with potential. Del Ray and Harswell Ruby are feared most.

It's hard to oppose HOT TO DOT (nap) who is 4lb well in after having gone so close at Newcastle nine days ago.
Class & Speed Card

ALLEGORIE DE VASSY is a capable mare who won this last year. Unusually, she won her initial two chase runs in Grade 2 races before finishing second in the 2023 Mares' Chase at Cheltenham and while a fraction below that level last term, nonetheless is smart on her day and will be ready. Triple Listed-winning hurdler Shecouldbeanything landed a Grade 3 chase last month before scoring here a fortnight ago. She, too, is smart but might struggle to beat an on-song selection. Must Be Obeyed receives weight from her principal rivals and while she was having her second run in three days when finishing ahead of a below-par Allegorie De Vassy at the Punchestown Festival in May, she would prefer easier ground.

ALLEGORIE DE VASSY was below her best during the spring but her record after a break is a positive one (landed this race on return 12 months ago). Willie Mullins' smart mare is fancied to land this, possibly at the chief expense of Shecouldbeanything who has thrived in this sphere in recent months. Must Be Obeyed and Pink In The Park complete the shortlist.

Last year's winner ALLEGORIE DE VASSY (nap) faces quicker conditions but is narrowly preferred to the improving Shecouldbeanything
Class & Speed Card

VIOLETA was in winning form over this track and trip on her penultimate start and, after shaping like she was still in good heart when a staying-on fifth off 2lb higher here most recently, she gets the tentative vote to return to winning ways. Keen Interest wasn't seen to best effect when fourth over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time and he merits respect easing in trip, while recent Redcar runner-up Visitant is also noted.

KEEN INTEREST isn't the most straightforward but he shaped quite well last time and this isn't a strong race by any means, so it's worth taking a chance that things drop right for him. Violeta and Visitant also arrive in reasonable form and should be involved.

Topweight VIOLETA won over C&D in September before a fair fifth here last time in a hotter race than this, and she gets the nod.
Class & Speed Card

Having acquitted herself with credit in several high-class mares' bumpers last season, LISTENTOYOURHEART had little difficulty in justifying odds of 1/10 on her hurdles bow at Market Rasen. The Dan Skelton-trained five-year-old has more on her plate in this class 2 contest, but she looks more than capable of following up. Mary wasn't disgraced when finding only a stablemate of the selection too strong at Southwell and she may take the silver medal again, ahead of Exeter winner Roaring Home.

Having built up a solid record in bumpers, LISTENTOYOURHEART made the perfect start in this sphere when impressively landing an 8-runner Market Rasen novice (16.6f) 6 weeks ago. Open to above average improvement, this looks a good opportunity for her to follow up. Exeter-scorer Roaring Home appeals as the one to give Dan Skelton's mare most to think about.

The form pick is LISTENTOYOURHEART, while Roaring Home and Kitty Foyle are interesting rivals who may well improve further.
Class & Speed Card

An exciting sort for the Jamie Snowden outfit, having triumphed on both starts in bumpers last season, HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA gave every impression that she will improve for going up in trip, with both of those wins coming on heavy ground. The daughter of Affinisea should have too much for the The Secret Pearl, who showed promise on occasions last season in bumpers and could progress over hurdles. Squiggles may have a say in proceedings too.

HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA looked above average in winning both outings in bumpers and there's no reason why she won't make a hurdler, so she gets the nod ahead of The Secret Pearl, who also showed something to work on in that sphere. Squiggles is worthy of a market check on debut for a new stable.

She's unraced on ground faster than heavy but HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA looked promising when winning two bumpers last season.
Class & Speed Card

A chance can be taken on newcomer ADDISON GREY, who is related to plenty of winners and changed hands for 60,000gns in April. The son of Havana Grey has lots of speed in his pedigree and can make a winning debut. Sweet Cicely took a step forward from her debut effort to finish fourth at Newcastle last time and she could get into contention, while Kodi Fire is another to consider.

The betting will prove useful in assessing the newcomers, but MIDNIGHT CITY showed definite promise on 2 of his 3 starts to date so, having been gelded ahead of this, he's one to consider back in calmer waters with cheekpieces now reached for. Addison Grey and War Supremo are the debutants to note.

The vote goes to MIDNIGHT CITY who contested the big sales races at York and Doncaster, going down by only just over 3l in the first.
Class & Speed Card

SAINT SAM is likely to adopt forcing tactics and could stretch his rivals. He was in good humour over flights in August and September as he posted victories in Cork and Auteuil respectively. This drying ground won't inconvenience him at all. It is three years since Fakir D'oudairies won this race and he is is advantaged by the weights on this occasion. A return to a small field gives him every chance of resuming winning ways. He would prefer a bit more juice in the ground, though. Solness has a decent win ratio and is dangerous on the back of a handicap chase win at Listowel and a hurdle success in Sligo.

SAINT SAM looked as good as ever over fences in the summer and completed a straightforward task over hurdles in France last time, so he's the obvious one back in this sphere. Fakir d'Oudairies and Fil Dor both have the ability to trouble him if right on their game.

A race in which there should be plenty of pace, which could set things up nicely for FAKIR D'OUDAIRIES to record a second win the race
Class & Speed Card

JKR COBBLER bolted up over this track and trip recently and a 5lb penalty may not be enough to stop Iain Jardine's charge from following up here. This step back in trip is an interesting move for Commander Crouch and he merits respect on his debut for the Gemma Tutty stable. Concert Boy wasn't seen to best effect when sixth over C&D last week, but he could bounce back based previous form.

JKR COBBLER confirmed the encouragement of previous efforts when scoring in good style over C&D last time and he's worth a chance to go in again under a penalty. Drakeholes and Tickets look the main dangers but both face a quick turnaround.

3lb well in for a comfy C&D success last week, JKR COBBLER (nap) is not easily opposed.
Class & Speed Card

A marked drop in distance proved no barrier to success for seasonal debut winner MAJOR FORTUNE at Newton Abbot last week. The six-year-old scored with plenty up his sleeve and a 7lb penalty over this longer trip may not be enough to prevent him from completing a double. Monmiral, who took the Final of this series at the Cheltenham Festival in March, ended his campaign with a respectable fifth at Aintree and isn't taken lightly dropping in class. Emitom, runner-up 12 months ago, is another to consider.

This is by far and away the strongest race MAJOR FOTUNE has contested so far but his improvement doesn't look like stopping anytime soon and he can go in again under a 7-lb penalty. Emitom goes very well at this track and is second choice.

Progressive MAJOR FORTUNE appears to have a good chance of enhancing his excellent strike-rate. Emitom is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

DEEP PURPLE was value for more than the winning margin suggests when scoring in a bumper at Southwell on his most recent start, and he looks just the type to improve for having his first go over the smaller obstacles. A winner of a point-to-point in March, Dan Skelton's charge is likely to relish the step up in trip and he is narrowly preferred to Wendigo, who arrives with similar claims. A creditable fourth on his hurdles bow at Uttoxeter in May, Lightningupourdays must enter calculations as well.

Bumper winner WENDIGO returned from almost a year off with an excellent second in a novice at Hexham on hurdling debut and this step up in trip should be in his favour, so he gets the vote ahead of Deep Purple, who should take to this sphere. The Expensive One can compete if the extra distance brings improvement out of him.

The pick is WENDIGO, who won what has turned out to be a fairly good bumper in January and ran well in defeat on his hurdling debut.
Class & Speed Card

Magic Dream has the benefit of a recent outing compared to her stable companion RACE THE WIND, who makes her first appearance since winning under a penalty in novice company at Wolverhampton in January. The latter has also shaped as though stepping up to a mile would bring about further progression and she is expected to defy her absence. The unbeaten Lady Of Spain and hat-trick seeking Lady Of Arabia are others to note.

LADY OF SPAIN made an emphatic debut and, while she had to work a bit harder to maintain her unbeaten record under a penalty at Wolverhampton 7 months ago, she is a useful prospect who appears to have been handed a lenient mark, so she's marginally preferred to Race The Wind, who is also back from an absence. Lady of Arabia has a prolific AW record and ranks as a danger to the pair.

Another chance is given to UNASSUMING who was disappointing at Wolverhampton last time, but was 2-2 over this C&D prior to that.
Class & Speed Card

LE GRAND VERT appeals on this drop in trip. He was outgunned in second over further on his latest start in this discipline at Sligo in October, but he travelled notably well on that good ground. Jockey Alex Harvey is getting a tune from Bite That as the pair took the runner-up berth at Gowran Park and at this track last month. This is a step up in trip from those races, but he does have a placed effort in the book over a similar distance at Wexford. Crowsatedappletart is eminently capable on a going day and a big run wouldn't be surprising, while C'est Rien and Game And Glory are others to consider.

While BITE THAT's strike rate is not the most compelling, the same is true of many of these and he has plenty going for him here on the back of solid efforts in defeat at Gowran and this venue on his last two starts. Game And Glory will be a threat if on-song, while Crowsatedappletart and Rock On Pedro also enter calculations. Le Grand Vert found this trip too sharp at Limerick last time and he will be of greater interest back over 3m+.

This is a good opportunity for BITE THAT to get off the mark over fences after 2 narrow defeats last month and further should suit
Class & Speed Card

FORT GEORGE was fourth over a mile at Kempton on his debut last month and, with the promise of more to come, he gets the vote to land a breakthrough victory at the second time of asking. White Crown Star arrives on the back of an admirable third over 7f at Yarmouth in September and, stepping up in trip, he looks the main danger to the selection. Quality Road colt Edge Ofthe Unknown is also a fascinating contender on his debut.

FORT GEORGE made an eye-catching start at Kempton last month, faring best of those held up in a race which placed a firm emphasis on speed, and he seems sure to improve. He gets the vote over newcomer Yaa Min and White Crown Star in a pretty deep-looking novice.

Having been a promising fourth on last month's debut at Kempton, the attractively bred FORT GEORGE is taken to come out on top.
Class & Speed Card

I'D LIKE TO KNOW had plenty in hand when winning over 2m2f at Kempton when last seen in May and Chris Gordon's gelding has to be of interest on his return, despite a 4lb rise. Masaccio hit the crossbar over hurdles on his most recent outing and merits consideration now switched to fences, while High Treason and Twinjets complete the shortlist.

THELASTHIGHKING failed to kick on following a positive start to last season but he is on a good mark if able to get back on track, a scenario which is certainly plausible given that he returns from a break with his yard going great guns. I'd Like To Know took very well to fences last season and is a much-respected main danger, while Twinjets remains capable of better in this sphere and Masaccio will be a threat if he adapts well to the larger obstacles.

Based on their respected Newbury form, MASACCIO and I'd Like To Know are the most appealing runners.
Class & Speed Card

THE KNIPHAND was a very impressive winner over 3m at Southwell a month ago and the six-year-old is hard to oppose off just a 5lb higher mark here. That said, the hat-trick seeking Ask Brewster is an obvious threat to the selection following his success at this venue two weeks ago. The rest all have questions to answer, but Rockinastorm is the pick of them.

Having won a point early in his career, ASK BREWSTER improved immediately for the switch to fences when successful here a fortnight ago and looks a chaser to keep on the right side of. Inflexible and The Kniphand are the chief threats.

Topweight THE KNIPHAND (nap) produced a good performance on last month's seasonal debut at Southwell and gets the vote.

JALAYBEE's form has stepped up a level since being switched to the all-weather here on his recent starts and the three-year-old gets the vote in what looks to be a winnable contest on paper. First Dynasty benefited from front-running tactics when winning over C&D last month and he is respected off a 3lb higher mark. King Of York and Retraction complete the shortlist.

FIRST DYNASTY reacted well to first-time blinkers when scoring here a month ago and, if the headgear has the same effect, he can go in again. Jalaybee and King of York look the chief threats, although a few others arrive in form.

The vote goes to FIRST DYNASTY who did it well when making all over C&D last month.
Class & Speed Card

RELIEVED OF DUTIES won a Loughanmore point-to-point by six lengths on drying ground and may prove to be a more than useful track performer for Gordon Elliott. He looks the one to beat. Patrick Mullins comes in for the ride on Colonel Nelson who was a fair fourth in a Punchestown maiden hurdle last month. This Mount Nelson gelding gets first-time cheekpieces. Mic Drop is another winner between the flags and showed potential in third on bumper debut at Tipperary. He wasn't at his best when next seen in a remote fourth at Wexford in May, but has had a break since then and should be in the mix for a cheque.

This is probably best left to RELIEVED OF DUTIES, who coast plenty as a 3-y-o and having won a point in the spring, has transferred to an excellent yard. Mic Drop and Colonel Nelson have already displayed ability under Rules so warrant consideration.

The standard set isn't a high bar and therefore RELIEVED OF DUTIES may be too good on rules debut after his point win
Class & Speed Card

A comfortable winner over C&D on her penultimate start, SHIELAS WELL has since followed up at Musselburgh and this appeals as an ideal opportunity to bring up the hat-trick. The progressive daughter of Saxon Warrior gets the vote ahead of Pivotal Days, who relished the switch to heavy ground when getting off the mark over 7f at Haydock last month. He has failed to win over 1m on two previous attempts though, and it may be course winner Chesneys Charm that provides the chief threat to the selection.

PIVOTAL DAYS was impressive when dominating his rivals from the front at Haydock 3 weeks ago and could go in again now the penny has dropped. The hat-trick seeking Shielas Well could be the danger, ahead of Sands of Indi.

Grant Tuer looks to hold the key and CHESNEYS CHARM can win again on the AW. Shielas Well is feared most.

EL CAIROS cost 200,000 euros after winning a point-to-point in Ireland earlier in the year and the son of No Risk At All has to be of considerable interest on his Rules debut. Brookside La was also an expensive purchase at 100,000 euros and any market support for him would have to be noted. Others to consider are Bobajob, Wandering Ego and Claim The Throne.

The Skelton yard have been firing with bumper runners so BROOKSIDE LA could be the way to go before market clues. This looks a pretty deep contest though, one which Nicky Henderson usually targets successfully, so Bobajob has to be respected. Wandering Ego is another to note.

First choice is BOBAJOB, ahead of Brookside La who is another interesting newcomer. The betting should offer further guidance.
Class & Speed Card

FRONTIER PRINCE's half-brother won a bumper on debut for these connections last year and it would be no surprise to see him repeat that achievement here. Intosomethinggood also has a pedigree that suggests that he could make the frame in a race of this nature, while Farhh Echo showed some ability on his racecourse bow at Huntingdon and could put that experience to good use.

FRONTIER PRINCE is a half-brother to one who made a successful start in bumpers for the yard and makes most appeal in a race that might not take much winning. Intosomethinggood is an obvious player for Nigel Twiston-Davies, while Farhh Echo could improve on his opening effort at Huntingdon and take a hand.

Fergal O'Brien's newcomer FRONTIER PRINCE is bred to win a bumper and might be the answer.
Class & Speed Card

Not beaten far in valuable handicaps the last twice, this represents a significant drop in grade for LOOKING FOR LYNDA, who remains on his last winning mark. The four-year-old may be able to regain the winning thread at the main expense of True Promise, who should not be inconvenienced by dropping to 5f having shown plenty of pace when scoring over further at Southwell last time out. Jenever and Muker are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

A trappy sprint handicap in which the 3-y-os could come to the fore, TRUE PROMISE taken to continue his fine record on tapeta and strike at the expense of Curious Rover. Muker ran well here last time and must be a big player if backing that up.

Jenever wasn't seen to best effect here last time but the progressive TRUE PROMISE can make it 4-5 on Tapeta.
Class & Speed Card

Eva Dickson showed a fair amount of ability to finish fourth on her debut at Southwell and, with normal progression, she could have a say. BOUVIER has produced some solid efforts in her five career starts to date, with her only blip coming when finding Group 2 company too tough at Deauville. She sets the standard with a rating of 77 and looks the one to beat. Any market support for Secret Combination would be interesting.

This represents a golden opportunity for BOUVIER to deservedly open her account, having chased home a potentially useful colt from the Roger Varian yard at Kempton recently. Make Love is the clear pick for forecast purposes in mind, with many of the others, including Eva Dickson, likely to need more time and distance.

Preference is for EVA DICKSON, who was a pretty encouraging fourth on last month's debut at Southwell. Bouvier is feared.
Class & Speed Card

BIBENDUM showed what he is capable of when breaking well at Wolverhampton last time out, and he is likely to build on that promising effort off an unchanged rating. He can get off the mark ahead of Darlo Pride, who bounced back to form with a runner-up effort at Southwell recently. Strong Johnson's last success came over C&D a year ago and he must be noted, along with Castan and Delagate This Lord.

DARLO PRIDE is well handicapped and produced his best effort since joining this yard when runner-up at Southwell last time, so he's fancied to get the better of stablemate Lord Abama, who scored here earlier in the week. Bibendum is another one to consider.

A trappy race in which dual C&D winner CASTAN is tentatively preferred to Let's Go Hugo.
Class & Speed Card

Thomas Equinas possibly benefited from the reapplication of cheekpieces when scoring by a length over track and trip and it would be no surprise to see him feature off 3lb higher. However, he might come out second best to LADY WINGALONG, who wasn't disgraced in third, despite pulling hard, at Wolverhampton and goes off the same rating. If David Evans' mare can settle better, she could prove very hard to beat. Kessaar Power completes the shortlist.

The vote in this tricky-looking contest goes to LADY WINGALONG, who did well under the circumstances when third at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago. Thomas Equinas rates the main danger on the back of his recent C&D success, which was his fourth win here, but the consistent Amaysmont is also likely to be firmly in the mix.

This can go to GUITEAU, who's on a handy mark and has a better chance of getting his own way back into a smaller field.

BARLEYBROWN has turned a corner in recent months with the four-year-old winning twice over C&D from his last four starts and his latest second here suggested that the improvement shown is unlikely to stop any time soon. Jewel Maker (second) and Alpine Sierra (third) chased home the selection last month and are expected to play similar roles once again, while Mercurius Power completes the shortlist based on his Southwell third.

It can pay to give another chance to FALCON NINE, who was left with too much to do at Kempton last time and he had previously stepped up when a good second at Yarmouth in September. Mercurius Power is a live danger, while Alpine Sierra, who is taken to reverse last month's C&D placings with Barleybrown and Jewel Maker, also has claims in a competitive handicap.

Barleybrown and Unreal Connection are high on the list but MERCURIUS POWER looked in top form when third at Southwell last time.

Capricorn King had Good Call (third) and Freak Encounter (fourth) behind when taking the silver medal home in heavy conditions at Leicester last month and now sports first-time blinkers, which could eke out more to help confirm the form. However, it may pay to side with PINE CLIFFS, who showed more when fourth over a mile at Southwell and has been dropped 2lb. With the step up in trip a possible source for improvement, he gets the nod.

CAPRICORN KING is sure to benefit from the step back up in trip and, with the possibility of first-time blinkers triggering a bit of improvement, he earns the vote for an in-form yard. Freak Encounter had excuses on his most recent outing and is considered the main threat ahead of Good Call.

This could go to CAPRICORN KING if settling better than on one other try at 1m2f. Freak Encounter may appreciate this trip also.

The drop back to sprinting made a big difference to HK FOURTEEN when improving plenty from his handicap bow to score at Bath last Thursday. Tony Carroll's gelding is unlikely to have any issue in backing up under a 5lb penalty, despite this being a competitive race for the grade. Evoluir debuts for Micky Hammond after winning at Southwell last time and boasts solid credentials, while Urban Dandy and Fircombe Hall appear best of the remainder.

Sprinting is clearly HK FOURTEEN's game judged on his much-improved, clear-cut success dropped to 5.7f at Bath last week. Assuming that he will prove equally effective on tapeta, the lightly-raced 4-y-o will take plenty of stopping under a penalty. Fellow last-time-out winner Evoluir gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Fircombe Hall and Urban Dandy.

HK Fourteen is the obvious starting point but FIRCOMBE HALL loves it here and looks a sporting alternative.

There is plenty to like about the chances of 110,000gns purchase Kentucky River on paper and it would be no surprise if the son of Camelot had enough ability to play a part first time up. That said, preference is for AEGEAN PRINCE. Charlie Appleby is operating at a 29 per cent strike-rate at this venue this year and his Dubawi colt gets the nod to score at the first time of asking. Hi Ya Mal is also considered.

AEGEAN PRINCE rather leaps off the page as a Dubwai colt and the first foal of a smart mare at up to 1½m so he makes plenty of appeal on debut. Kentucky River is also bred to stay well and is in very capable hands, while Mersea Island will attempt to put his experience to good use.

This looks a good introduction for AEGEAN PRINCE, nephew of a 1m2f scorer at up to Group 2 level. Kentucky River is next best.

RENESMEE struck over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton and lost little in defeat when an admirable fourth over the same C&D subsequently. Off the same mark, Alice Haynes' filly gets the nod to return to winning ways. Born A Rebel caught the eye when a staying-on third over a mile here and must be considered stepping back up in trip off an unchanged rating. Runner-up over track and trip last month, Switchel completes the shortlist off 1lb higher.

JENSON BENSON has registered all of his career wins at this venue, and from a handy mark with Jason Hart in the saddle, he has plenty to recommend him. Switchel seems very likely to give it a good go unless the removal of a hood has a negative effect, with Renesmee also of interest.

Last Thursday's third over 1m here was more like it from ARENAS DEL TIEMPO in a first-time visor and she's preferred to Switchel.

AGOSTINO appeared to appreciate the step back down to the minimum trip when making all over C&D last month and, off a 5lb higher mark, he gets the nod to bring up a double. Twilight Fun rediscovered his shooting boots in first-time cheekpieces (retained) over 6f here and he must be respected off 2lb higher, while Papa Don't Preach is respected most out of the remainder.

SIR RODNEYREDBLOOD came within a neck of adding to his Chelmsford haul over 6f a week ago and, equally effective over 5f, he's surely a big player from the same mark. Twilight Fun reacted well to cheekpieces when winning here in September and he looks the main danger.

A good burn-up looks on the cards and hard-puller TWILIGHT FUN should be fine with the return to 5f. Papa Don't Preach is next best.

Having completed a brace a shade cosily at Windsor last month, MAID IN CHELSEA enters handicap company off what looks a fair mark. Jack Jones' filly scored on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton in September and she makes plenty of appeal on her Polytrack debut. The biggest threat may emerge from Monsieur Kodi, who arrives on the back of a respectable fourth at Catterick. Others to note include Blackjack and Princess Shabnam.

This is quite late in the day for MONSIEUR KODI to tackle polytrack for the first time but shaped quite nicely at Catterick last time and he's a regular in better handicaps than this. He's therefore awarded the vote in favour of Princess Shabnam and Hierarchy.

A good showing in a C&D 0-80 last month earns PRINCESS SHABNAM the vote over Monsieur Kodi and the unexposed Maid In Chelsea.

HAT TOSS hasn't enjoyed the smoothest of passages in two placed efforts since his victory over a mile at Sandown in August and compensation could be on the cards. The New Bay gelding should relish a return to this distance and a third career victory looks imminent. Expensive Queen offered plenty of encouragement with her second-placed stable bow at the Esher venue and she's feared most, ahead of the down-in-grade Pjanoo.

Having won at Sandown in August, HAT TOSS has shaped well on both starts since, left with too much to do in a steadily-run race last time, and he looks poised to strike. Expensive Queen made an excellent start for James Tate in September and is second choice, ahead of Pjanoo.

Hat Toss looked a bit unlucky back on the AW last time but this can go to EXPENSIVE QUEEN (nap), whose yard has been in good form.
Ths is the racecard key.
