12:17 Down Royal Maiden Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Although BETTER DAYS AHEAD found the Champion Bumper a step too far when down the field at Cheltenham in March, the five-year-old is one to keep on side now tackling hurdles and up in distance. The gelding looks to be the pick of his trainer's quartet and he may be served most resistance by bumper winner The Busy Fool. The son of Doyen isn't taken lightly after his Thurles success last month, with winning pointers Nas Na Riogh and Annaghbeg completing the shortlist.

BETTER DAYS AHEAD didn't do himself justice in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham but this point winner remains a good hurdling prospect. The Busy Fool looked above average when making a winning debut in a Thurles bumper 3 weeks ago so must be respected, while point-winner Nas Na Riogh is worth a look in the betting.

Gordon Elliott has won seven of the last eight runnings of this maiden and his BETTER DAYS AHEAD is hard to oppose on hurdles debut

LTO Selection:

12:25 Hexham Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Race-fitness may be at a premium here and if that is the case, a chance can be taken on GIPSY LEE ROSE, who was beaten less than seven lengths on her return last month over an inadequate trip. A C&D winner in April 2022 off 6lb higher, she should handle the going and may have the edge for the trainer who won this in 2020. Her stable companion, Wavelength, is one to watch as a fellow C&D winner, but he hasn't been seen in 18 months, while Kildrum is another to consider seriously with his excellent Hexham form to his name.

GIPSY LEE ROSE can boast a C&D win and teed herself up well for this when a returning fifth here last month so gets the vote in a refitted visor. Three-time C&D scorer Kildrum is feared most on his reappearance ahead of the selection's stablemate Wavelength, who needs monitoring in the market on his comeback.

This looks a good opportunity for C&D scorer GIPSY LEE ROSE to build on her encouraging reappearance fifth here and resume winning ways

Deafening Silence

4/1(-20%)
(3) Deafening Silence 4/1, Successful on last (only completed) of 3 starts in points (Dec 2021) and produced a promising first effort over hurdles when a close third of 13 in novice at Chepstow (16f, good to soft) 12 months ago, noted doing his best work late on. In top hands and sure to improve now upped in trip.
Point winner; ran well in his 2m novice and this new trip looks a major plus for him.

Wrappedupinmay

8/13(+23%)
(6) Wrappedupinmay 8/13, Wide-margin winner of sole point and came home in splendid isolation in bumper here (heavy) on Rules debut. Turned over at short odds at Sandown next time but shaped well sent hurdling after 8 months off when runner-up at Ffos Las (21.9f, good to soft) last month. Major player.
Point/bumper winner; retains significant potential despite two odds-on defeats.
3
3rd (1) Astronomic View (12/1 +14%)
Astronomic View

12/1(+14%)
(1) Astronomic View 12/1, Fairly-useful bumper winner who offered plenty to work on when third of 6 on 2m Ffos Las hurdle debut last November. Strong in the betting but failed to progress when mid-field at Newton Abbot 6 months later and has a similar length of absence to overcome here.
Useful in bumpers; returning to a stiffer track on softer ground is favourable.

Beachcomber

14/1(-56%)
(2) Beachcomber 14/1, Looked useful when winning easily at Chepstow on his second of 3 bumper starts last season. Off 7 months, shaped as if better for the run when 10 lengths fifth on his 2½m Worcester hurdle debut in September and can have his latest effort at Kempton excused (rider lost irons early).
Impressive bumper winner; short in the betting when departing early at Kempton latest.

Law Of Supply

Point winner; 4th in his bumper and wouldn't have been seen to best effect there.

Mad Mike

(5) Mad Mike 50/1, Looked badly in need of the experience when fifth of 6 in bumper at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) on debut 6 months ago. Yard been amongst the winners of late so he would be folly to discount on hurdling debut.
In need of the experience when fifth of the six runners in a Wincanton bumper in April.
LTO Selection:

12:35 Exeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Although WRAPPEDUPINMAY was unable to justify short odds when runner-up on his hurdles debut at Ffos Las last month, Paul Nicholls' charge still ran to a fair level and any improvement could see him go one place better. Deafening Silence offered plenty to work with when a never-nearer third on his opening hurdles bid over 2m at Chepstow October 2022 and the six-year-old is feared most, ahead of Astronomic View, who is another potential improver upped in trip.

Cases can be made for most of these, but preference is for WRAPPEDUPINMAY, who shaped well sent hurdling after 8 months off when runner-up at Ffos Las recently (front pair clear) and can go a place better now. Deafening Silence was beaten less than a length when third on hurdling bow 12 months ago so he may emerge as the main danger, with Law of Supply taken to fill third place.

Although turned over at odds-on the last twice, WRAPPEDUPINMAY probably bumped into a smart one on his hurdling debut.

LTO Selection:

12:45 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

STAY SMART ran with credit when third at Wolverhampton last month and the handicapper has dropped him 1lb for that effort. The five-year-old makes only his second start for the Mark Loughnane stable and could get his head back in front. Triple Jaye has hit the frame on each of her last two outings and could go well once again, while Josies Kid is another to consider after his third over C&D last time.

If the cards call kinder for STAY SMART than at Wolverhampton last month he looks capable of striking at the second time of asking for his new stable. Josies Kid arrives in good form and is second choice ahead of Street Parade.

12:52 Down Royal Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A highly-encouraging second at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start, BALLYDANGAN should relish going back up to three miles and he is taken to get off the mark at the seventh time of asking. The six-year-old is preferred to the likes of Falvio on his first starts for new connections and Reserve Judgement, who won comfortably here in June. The veteran Benkei is entitled to be thereabouts, along with handicap debutant Hunt Museum and Eagle Terrace.

Plenty in with a squeak but the tentative vote goes to SPICE DIVA, who is bred to stay well and looks the type to do much better now handicapping. Hunting Brook failed to show much for Emma Lavelle but he could prove a different proposition on return for his new yard, while Workforadime, Reserve Judgement and Hunt Museum are another trio fancied to be in the shake-up.

A disappointing favourite at Cork last time, BALLYDANGAN is probably worth another chance based on his previous Fairyhouse second

13:00 Hexham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Presenting Nelly is the obvious starting point after wins at Worcester and Newton Abbot but she has to give 12lb to all of her rivals and, on this ground, that looks a big ask. Point-to-point and bumper winner Chosen Hero has to be of some interest for Archie Watson ahead of her hurdling debut and she can go well, but preference is for DANGAN CLOUD. Runner-up on her second point-to-point and on her hurdling bow over further, she may try to make all now dropped back in trip and won't be stopping late on.

LUNAR DISCOVERY was out of her depth when last seen but she'd looked above average in bumpers prior to that and she's capable of making a successful switch to hurdling. Dangan Cloud is a danger on the back of a solid hurdling debut and Presenting Nelly is a threat for all that she shoulders a double penalty.

As Presenting Nelly has a stiff task with her double penalty it could pay to go with bumper winner CHOSEN HERO on her hurdles debut.

LTO Selection:

13:10 Exeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JERSEY LADY only seemed to just do enough in her three victories earlier in the year and a 3lb rise for the most recent of those wins may not be enough to prevent the seven-year-old from completing a four-timer. The hat-trick seeking Ma Belle Noire is sure to prove popular too and Harry Fry's mare is expected to pose the biggest threat. Fellow last-time-out winner Chloe's Court also makes some appeal given her record at this venue.

This looks an above-average contest with a number of last-time-out winners in the field, but the pick of them is probably MA BELLE NOIRE, who produced another career best at Worcester last time. Jersey Lady and Little Else both arrive on a winning streak, so they're feared.

Life is about to get harder for a few of these off their new marks but MA BELLE NOIRE hasn't looked back since the blinkers went on.

As for the latter, he could get closer on this occasion on slightly better terms, while Phoenix Star completes the shortlist after his runner-up effort at Newcastle last time.

PHOENIX STAR and Tommie Jakes combined to score twice at Newcastle in September and might be up to landing another win together here with the Jessica Macey team continuing in form. 13:27 Down Royal Novices Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Williamstowndancer had a few of these behind when winning a Grade 3 contest at Tipperary on her latest outing and she is likely to be bang there once more. However, preference is for the unbeaten BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD, who secured a victory in easy fashion on her hurdles debut at Thurles last time and she should have plenty more to come. The daughter of Kapgarde can take this before moving onto bigger targets. Banntown Girl completes the shortlist after her facile success at Punchestown last month.

Plenty of potential on show but BANNTOWN GIRL holds the clear edge on the form of her recent Punchestown success so edges the vote. Brighterdaysahead rates a fine prospect on the back of her easy Thurles win and is next on the list, although both Williamstowndancer and Birdie Or Bust are not without interest either in a cracking Grade 3.

Gordon Elliott adopts a bold policy with the unbeaten four-year-old BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD and she may prove equal to the task

13:35 Hexham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Clovis Island was a comfortable bumper winner here in March and he looks an interesting recruit to hurdles for Nicky Richards, who has his string in good form. The market may prove a good guide to his chances, but a chance is taken on the race-fit TOMMY JOHNSON. Sent off a 7/2 chance on his racecourse bow at Carlisle last month, he was only beaten a length at the line and if he improves for that experience, he could go one better. Dual point-to-point winner Great Pepper and Irish raider Jimmy Chou Pecos Aa are others for the shortlist.

JIMMY CHOU PECOS AA ran to a fair level when runner-up on his first 2 starts over hurdles and the form of his third at Kelso last time has been boosted since, with the pair that beat him both winning subsequently. He is taken to get off the mark this time around, with Tommy Johnson feared most after his promising debut, ahead of Mumford's Magic.

The unexposed ex-pointer CLOVIS ISLAND, who won a bumper here in March, is taken to beat Irish raider Jimmy Chou Pecos AA.

13:45 Exeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Asta La Pasta justified strong market support when landing the spoils on his hurdles bow at Uttoxeter last month and another bold bid is anticipated from the five-year-old. However, Dan Skelton's charge might be worth taking on now shouldering a 6lb penalty, with DIAMOND RI making most appeal. The gelding was most impressive when romping home on his bumper debut at Warwick in March and he could take all the beating if proving as effective in this sphere. Insurrection and Midnight Soldier may fare best of the remainder.

A few of these offer potential but ASTA LA PASTA created an excellent impression when going in at Uttoxeter on his hurdles debut so looks the way to go despite conceding weight all round. Hurdling newcomers Diamond Ri and Insurrection both command plenty of respect though, especially if the betting vibes are positive. Midnight Soldier is another who needs factoring in.

13:55 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

Ravenglass was touched off by just under a length when second over 7f at Wolverhampton on his latest outing and it would be no surprise to see him figure off the same mark. However, preference is for WADACRE GRACE, who is in good form at present and hit the frame over an extended mile at Wolverhampton earlier in the week. Semser makes his return to the all-weather and is another to note.

HEADINGLEY showed plenty on his comeback at Wolverhampton and this 3-time C&D winner is sure to go well if building on that. Ravenglass looks the big danger.

14:02 Down Royal Conditions Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

IRISH POINT was a commanding winner of the Mersey Novices' Hurdle when last seen and Gordon Elliott's five-year-old is hard to oppose as he drops in grade for his seasonal return. Magical Zoe has race-fitness on her side and looks the most likely threat, having cruised to victory in a Listed event last time, while official ratings would suggest Sir Allen has a chance and he heads the remainder.

With race-fitness on her side and armed with plenty of scope for further improvement, MAGICAL ZOE is taken to get the better of likely market leader Irish Point. The latter sets the standard based on his Grade 1 success at Aintree during the spring, but he will do well to successfully concede 13 lb to Magical Zoe, who looked good when making a winning reappearance at Gowran. David Garrick scored on the Flat last month and could be in line for minor place money.

Race fitness gives a fighting chance to Magical Zoe but IRISH POINT has stronger credentials in overall terms

14:10 Hexham Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A taking winner on his first start for new connections at Carlisle last month, ONE MILL HARBOUR has made an excellent start to his chasing career and he can overcome a mere 5lb rise for that success to score again. Overcourt returned from a long absence to run very well when second here over further recently and he must enter calculations, along with chase debutants Artemis Kimbo and Les's Legacy.

A few interesting newcomers to the chasing ranks, and a market move for one or more of them could prove significant, but the percentage call is to side with those who've already shown they can do it over fences, with ONE MILL HARBOUR taken to follow up his Carlisle reappearance success at the expense of Overcourt.

This could go to FIVE DOLLAR FINE, a point winner who could improve upon his fair hurdle form now going chasing.

14:20 Exeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Imperial Measure successfully justified favouritism by just over two lengths in heavy conditions at Newton Abbot last time and he will be hard to keep out of contention off a 4lb higher rating. However, preference is for FILANDERER, who has dropped to an appealing mark after finishing fourth at Fontwell when last seen in May. The son of Kayf Tara has David Bass booked and can make a winning return to action. Miss Marette completes the shortlist.

There were more than enough positives to take from MAJOR FORTUNE's reappearance fourth on debut for Dan Skelton in a Bangor maiden to suggest that he will be seriously competitive now handicapping off what could turn out to be a handy opening mark. He gets the nod ahead of another likely improver in Danton and Imperial Measure, who did the job well at Newton Abbot last time. Arthalot and Filanderer are others to consider.

14:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Cryptos Dream won more cosily than the winning distance of a neck might suggest over 1m2f at Brighton last time but, having been raised 4lb in the ratings for that success, she may be susceptible to MENG TIAN. Sean Woods' charge has been dropped 1lb after a close third over C&D last time and he can get his head in front for the first time since March 2022. Hellavapace heads the remainder.

MENG TIAN has edged down to a workable mark and returned to form when third in a slightly-stronger handicap over C&D a fortnight ago. He gets the vote over Brighton-winner Cryptos Dream and Hellavapace.

The one heading in the right direction is CRYPTOS DREAM, who has done well since joining Jack Jones.

14:37 Down Royal Handicap Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

An intriguing handicap that looks wide open and Gordon Elliott has three runners in with chances, possibly headed by WOMALKO, who is racing from the bottom of the weights. A beaten favourite at Clonmel on his first start since December last year, he might do better now under Mark Walsh. Dont Go Yet could be interesting dropped in trip and if he can get to the front to make the running, then he may be a major player. General Dynamics came home a six-length third at odds of 250/1 last time out and could be the surprise package.

WOMALKO gets the nod to build on a promising comeback run at Clonmel a fortnight ago. Henry de Bromhead's Itwasfate is feared most ahead of the thriving Paidi's Passion and the selection's stablemate Pats Choice.

It looks significant that Gordon Elliott has added WOMALKO (nap) to the field. He should strip fitter after a recent Clonmel run

LTO Selection:

14:45 Hexham Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

An impressive scorer over fences at Sedgefield last month, ROCCO STORM was put up 6lb for that win, but remains off 97 over hurdles and can take advantage. That may be at the main expense of handicap debutant Geordies Dream, and One Step Up, who went well for a long way over C&D last time out. Ingennio and Serious Ego are players based on the pick of their form also.

ONE STEP UP hasn't made much impact in his 3 starts over hurdles so far, but his pedigree (half-brother to useful hurdler/high-class chaser Dunvegan) offers hope that he'll be capable of better. He is open to progress now handicapping and is preferred to Rocco Storm, who can go well again off his lower hurdles mark. Geordies Dream is also considered.

This could go the way of the unexposed 5yo ONE STEP UP, who appeals as a likely improver now going handicapping for his in-form stable

14:55 Exeter Maiden Chase (Class 2) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Last season's Albert Bartlett winner STAY AWAY FAY makes his chase debut for the Paul Nicholls stable and he has plenty in hand according to official ratings. The main danger is Grey Dawning, who took the Grade 2 Leamington Novices' Hurdle at Warwick in January and he has to be considered on his first chase start. The Changing Man is another to note in a fascinating contest.

This may well concern graded novice hurdle winners STAY AWAY FAY and Grey Dawning. The latter was a gutsy winner of the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham before a solid fourth in the Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree in April and gets the vote. The Changing Man may do best of the others.

All five are exciting but STAY AWAY FAY had the highest honours over hurdles and he's reported to have schooled like a dream.

An open field sees plenty arrive here with solid claims but the most compelling case is made by BROAD APPEAL. The nine-year-old was beaten under a length over 1m4f at Brighton last time and, having been dropped 1lb in the ratings, he could be a tough nut to crack. Sunset In Paris also appears primed to offer a bold bid after an encouraging effort over C&D last time, while Star For A Day can also go well.

SUNSET IN PARIS continues to shape as if he's got more ability than he's been able to show thus far so John Jenkins' 5-y-o gets the nod to break his duck with Kieran Shoemark on board for the first time. Silver Bubble has dropped to a career-low mark so she could be the one to give the selection most to think about, with Crazy Maisie and Broad Appeal another couple fancied to go well.

15:08 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DANCE TIME belied odds of 33-1 to make a successful handicap debut at Southwell in September, and the unexposed daughter of Time Test ought to be more than capable of defying a subsequent 3lb rise. She is preferred to Luna Effect, who was narrowly denied at Yarmouth last time, while others to note include Graces Quest and recent Kempton scorer Evening Story.

EVENING STORY built on the promise of her previous run when scoring at Kempton last month, showing a good turn of foot, and she can continue her progress upped further in trip on her first start for Grant Tuer. Luna Effect also showed improved form when runner-up on her latest outing and is feared most, ahead of Graces Quest.

15:12 Down Royal Maiden Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Colonel Mustard showed a high level of form over hurdles last season and must be respected today, but preference is for FOUND A FIFTY. The six-year-old, who contested the Champion Novice Hurdle when last seen, is bred to appreciate the switch to chasing and he is fancied to make an immediate impact. Others to note include Lucky Max and Tronador.

FOUND A FIFTY was ultimately well held in Grade 1 novice hurdles at Aintree and Punchestown during the spring, but he looked very promising prior to that and appeals as the type to make up into a smart performer in this sphere. The 6-y-o is marginally preferred to Colonel Mustard, who ran a fine race in the Paddy Power Champion Hurdle on his final start of last season. La Malmason and Soldaro should both win races in this sphere in due course.

A smart hurdler who ran twice over fences last season, COLONEL MUSTARD may now put that experience to good use

15:20 Hexham Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CHAMP ROYAL had stablemate Atomic Angel (second) almost five lengths behind when doing it well over C&D last time out and he is taken to follow up off a 4lb higher mark today on just his second start for new connections. The veteran Humps And Bumps is a strong stayer at this trip but has yet to win on British soil, while recent C&D third Solway Primrose is another capable of being in the shake-up.

ATOMIC ANGEL was returning from a six-month break when outpointed by race-fit stablemate Champ Royal over C&D in October and, with that run likely to have blown away the cobwebs, she is taken to emerge on top this time. While Champ Royal will be a threat if in a similar mood, his patchy profile raises concerns in that respect and Cowboy Cooper, who may well take a step forward now moving up in trip, rates the main danger. Solway Primrose is best of the rest.

Susan Corbett's new recruit CHAMP ROYAL (nap) went in at the first time of asking over C&D last time and can defy a 4lb rise.

15:30 Exeter Handicap Chase (Class 1) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

EDITEUR DU GITE has lot of weight to carry but he brings some top-class form to the table, such as his victory in the Clarence House at Cheltenham in January. The son of Saddex will most likely be aimed at the Champion Chase again this season and he could stake his claim by taking this contest. Solo is an interesting proposition dropping back to this distance for the first time in a while and it would be no surprise to see him figure. Of the remainder, Indiana Jones makes the most appeal.

A very competitive renewal with narrow preference for SOLO, who has a good record fresh and represents a stable that has won this race a record 8 times. Indiana Jones and Elixir de Nutz both have the advantage of a recent run so are feared most.

A disappointing latest season sees WAR LORD (nap) on a tempting mark if he can tap back into the high-class form he showed as a novice.

15:37 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

PERIPETEIA finished a creditable third over an extended 1m4f at Newcastle last time, having won over this distance on her penultimate outing. Philip Kirby's charge is fancied to regain the winning thread back over further, while Big Jimbo, who kept on into second at Kempton last month, could improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces. Manyana has been consistent in her most recent starts and is another to consider.

A tightly-knit handicap in which Gary Moore's BIG JUMBO edges the vote given he can race off the same mark as when a very good recent Kempton second. Peripeteia arrives in good nick and can boast a course win too so rates the chief threat ahead of in-form duo Manyana and Shadowfax.

Those with experience don't set the highest of standards, so it might be worth taking a chance on MARINERS WAY. A full-sister to the useful Riversway, who won on her debut and sole all-weather start, this daughter of Mayson might not have to be anything out of the ordinary to emulate her sibling. Leveret hit the woodwork over C&D on her first start and she looks set to mount a stern challenge with improvement likely. Shy Hi Bye was well beaten on soft ground at Yarmouth but she ought to appreciate the switch to an artificial surface.

LEVERET had a couple of subsequent winners behind her when a running-on second over C&D on debut and she can put that experience to good use up against mostly newcomers, including interesting pair Passamezzo and Disclosure.

The clear form choice is LEVERET, who made a promising debut here in September. Mariners Way is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Cailin Deas caught the eye on her debut and she is entitled to find plenty of improvement for that experience, but Gordon Elliott appears to have the better chances with Firefox and THE YELLOW CLAY. Both are looking for their hat-trick here, but the younger option arrives unbeaten after winning a Listed race by over two lengths in March and that form seems the best on offer and the booking of Harry Swan is a positive. That said, he will need to be at his best to see off his stable companion.

FIREFOX is a cut above this field and should have little issue making a successful return from 7 months off. His stablemate The Yellow Clay looks the likeliest to capitalise if the selection underperforms, although Wrecking Ballbilly can't be completely dismissed.

Gordon Elliott holds the aces here. Harry Swan partners the unbeaten THE YELLOW CLAY who is just preferred to Firefox

LTO Selection:

16:00 Exeter Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The Kim Bailey stable has started this season in a rich vein of form and BROOMFIELD PRESENT, a winner of two of his three starts over hurdles, looks just the type to excel over the larger obstacles. The seven-year-old may be stepping up in grade but has conditions in his favour and is preferred to the likes of the Midlands Grand National third Notachance, as well as Iberio, who ran a promising race on his chase debut over C&D last month. Ask Me Early and Collectors Item have the form to get involved as well.

Although BROOMFIELD PRESENT lacks experience for a race like this his yard is in good form and a point win at the start of his career provides plenty of hope that he can translate his useful hurdle ability to fences. Collectors Item has the potential to leave his Chepstow chase debut behind and is second choice ahead of Ask Me Early, who has a decent record fresh and has been given a chance by the handicapper.

LTO Selection:

16:08 Chelmsford Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Soft ground might not have suited WONDER KID, who was well found in the market ahead of his racecourse debut last month. A half-brother to the multiple all-weather winner Bavardages, he may improve now switched to an artificial surface and the son of Belardo shades preference. Super Saiyan makes plenty of appeal on paper and he warrants a market check, while Duke's Command and Dubawi Time are also worth considering.

DUKE'S COMMAND is bred in the purple and showed plenty of ability on his Newmarket debut in September. He should have learnt plenty from that and can open his account here. The chief threat may well come from the newcomers with Super Saiyan and Parkland both making appeal on pedigree.

It was a much improved effort from MAGNUM OPUS at Salisbury and he's better drawn than Duke's Command and Dubawi Time.

16:12 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MONKS DREAM was an impressive winner of a 6f maiden here last time and Tim Easterby's gelding might be capable of defying a 4lb penalty. Persian Blue finished a decent second over 5f at Nottingham on her latest outing and she cannot be discounted. Circus Lion has posted two solid efforts in defeat and he ought to be thereabouts, while newcomer Sports Coach makes plenty of appeal on paper and is worth a market check.

PERSIAN BLUE shaped well when runner-up at Nottingham last time and this daughter of Blue Point can go one better now with that form having been franked. Monks Dream rates the main threat on the back of his ready success here last month, with Karl Burke's Sports Coach appealing as the pick of the newcomers.

An interesting clash between some solid-looking contenders. Slight preference is for CIRCUS LION, ahead of Persian Blue.

16:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BEDFORD FLYER found a return to the all-weather to his liking when justifying favouritism at Lingfield last week. Mick Appleby's five-year-old won with enough in hand that day to suggest that he can shrug off a 5lb penalty and a quick-fire double looks to be in the offing. Mondammej posted a solid runner-up effort here a week ago and he's feared most off the same rating, while Rhythm N Hooves shouldn't be far away if finding any improvement in first-time cheekpieces.

ALLIGATOR ALLEY wasn't at his best on turf at Haydock last time but remains on a handy-looking mark and is fancied to quickly resume winning ways returned to tapeta. Bedford Flyer rates a big danger though under a 5 lb penalty for his recent Lingfield success, with Rhythm N Hooves and Spangled Mac both in the picture too in a useful handicap.

Mondammej has major claims if backing up last week's good second but ALLIGATOR ALLEY (nap) can further enhance his fine AW record.

17:00 Dundalk Maiden 5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Danny Murphy and Oisin Sweeney have successful teamed up here at the last two Friday evening meetings including with Group 3 winner Dun Na Sead and perhaps MAGGIE MCGRATH can keep the sequence going. The selection was placed twice over C&D as a juvenile and was probably unsuited by soft ground on a number of occasions this season. Charlie Brow'n showed plenty of speed when third over six furlongs at Cork before getting stuck in the mud at the Curragh last time, while If But Maybe also showed pace on debut here last month and should be suited by the drop back to the minimum trip. Billboa made a promising debut here in the spring before disappointing on soft ground.

MAGGIE MCGRATH and Reinforce have disappointed of late but they both have strong claims on the pick of their form starting out for the in-form Daniel James Murphy. Cholita ran her best race yet when third at Navan and is another to consider.

Modest fare with a tentative vote going to MAGGIE MCGRATH, who finished second in a similar race this time last year

17:20 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Paddy's Day is likely to prove popular after landing the spoils over C&D last Friday and Nigel Tinkler's three-year-old warrants respect under a 6lb penalty. However, SHOW ME SHOW ME went into plenty of notebooks after finishing second over this track and trip on Tuesday. The son of Showcasing could take some stopping if coping with the quick turnaround and edges the vote. Zuffolo may fare best of the remainder.

SHOW ME SHOW ME looks ready to resume winning ways having only just failed off this mark over C&D on Tuesday. Paddy's Day produced a career best when winning over C&D last week and is the obvious threat under a penalty.

Show Me Show Me (second choice) and Paddy's Day are obvious players but an interesting alternative is HERAKLES.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Dundalk Handicap 10.5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CHAVAJOD scored on his first start for current connections over a mile at Leopardstown back in May and ran well subsequently over 1m2f at Roscommon. He shaped well over C&D last time when again coming from well off the pace behind Machnamh. Celtic Revival is an obvious threat bidding for a hat-trick after two wins here over 1m4f but the drop back in trip is a concern given all five career victories have now come here over that distance. Yokkell has joined John McConnell from Jarlath Fahey since finishing third to Jaafel here last month while Dabana and Spy are others to consider.

A dual winner on turf during the spring, YOU OWE ME MONEY has been shaping as though a return to this sort of trip will suit ideally in turf handicaps this autumn and, in a competitive race, she could be worth chancing to come out on top back on all weather. Celtic Revival is thriving and rates the chief threat in his hat-trick bid. Arch Enemy and No Thanks complete the shortlist.

It may be worth taking a chance on WALHAAN who wasn't beaten far over C&D earlier in the year; he remains on workable mark

17:50 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MR HEINZ lost little in defeat when runner-up over C&D in mid-October and a similar level of performance may be enough to defy a 2lb rise in the ratings. Spirit Of Bowland posted a pair of third-placed finishes at this venue last month and the four-year-old is likely to be on the premises once more. Little Ted is another to note now dropping into a 0-60 event, albeit the son of Cityscape is still 2lb above his last winning mark.

In a race where plenty have a shout the suggestion is SPIRIT OF BOWLAND who has a good record here. Mr Heinz arrives at the top of his game and is second choice ahead of Possible Ambition and Alibaba.

Whatwouldyouknow has claims in refitted cheekpieces but narrow preference is for SPIRIT OF BOWLAND in a wide-open race.

18:00 Dundalk Maiden 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHISPERSINTHEWIND caught the eye on debut over C&D and given normal improvement should prove difficult to beat. The Donnacha O'Brien-trained daughter of Churchill is obviously held in some regard as she attracted support in the morning and made steady headway inside the final quarter mile to take third behind Milliat. Sweetest has been placed on all five outings in sprint maidens including here last Friday behind the impressive Moral Turpitude and it will be interesting to see how she copes with this step up in trip. There are plenty of well-bred newcomers from leading yards to keep a close eye on in the market including the Frankel filly Quadruple and the Joseph O'Brien-trained pair Foolish Love and Supreme Success.

An interesting maiden for this time of year with the vote in favour of WHISPERSINTHEWIND. She shaped with plenty of promise when third on debut in a C&D maiden 6 weeks ago, coming from much further back than the pair that beat her and looks sure to have derived plenty from that. Quadruple is a most interesting newcomer and she's feared, with Sweetest, Clarita and Starry Dew others to note.

WHISPERSINTHEWIND ran a big race over C&D on rules debut and with further progress likely, she's the one to beat

18:20 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HAWORTH STAR produced the best effort of his career so far to hit the frame at Wolverhampton last month, despite going off at big odds, and he was given a 7lb rise for that display. The son of Bated Breath could take a step forward and get his head in front for the first time this evening. Bella Kopella hit the crossbar over 6f here last time and has to be considered off the same rating, with the step up in distance unlikely to pose him any problems. Last-time-out winner Capuchinero should also go well under a 5lb penalty.

CAPUCHINERO did well to get up late at Chelmsford and she's worth a chance to follow up despite the penalty. Bella Kopella and Bobby Joe Leg look the main dangers.

Back in this grade and reunited with Billy Loughnane, COMEDIAN LEADER could well return to form. Capuchinero is feared most.

18:30 Dundalk Listed 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DIDN'THAVEMUCHTODO has been knocking on the door in Listed races and may finally make the breakthrough here. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly has yet to race on the all-weather but appears versatile ground wise on turf and went close to gaining big black type when beaten a head by Salt Lake City at Killarney in August. She again ran with credit over a mile at Naas last time and is preferred to Keep In Touch. The Moyglare Stud homebred was only denied by a neck in the Listed Corrib Stakes at the Galway Festival and is another making his debut at this venue. Persian Jewel has a different profile having only won her maiden in good style here last Friday while Hodd's Girl and UK raider Behind The Scenes also have winning form on the all-weather.

HODD'S GIRL holds the edge on form and can boast a superb record round here so gets the nod in a competitive listed contest. Didn'thavemuchtodo has the form to play a big part too so heads the list of dangers ahead of Keep In Touch and Behind The Scenes.

A mixed bag here chasing black type and it could pay to side with the improving 3yo PERSIAN JEWEL just a week after her C&D maiden win

LTO Selection:

18:50 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Glendown secured victory by half a length in soft ground at Redcar last month and he is one to watch off a 4lb higher rating on his first start at this track. However, preference is for BEAUTY CHOICE, who finished fifth in a class 4 event at Doncaster recently and is able to compete off the same mark on his all-weather return, which could see him make it two wins from his last three starts. Sacred Falls has finished in the top two on each of her last six outings (one win) and she can't be ruled out either.

TRILBY is unexposed and took a step forward when second at Pontefract, so he makes most appeal. Bellagio Man shaped well at Wolverhampton last time, so he could feature if the race is run to suit, while last-time-out winner Glendown is worthy of respect.

A warm race in which TRILBY can confirm the promise of his Pontefract second. Bellagio Man and Sacred Falls are feared most.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Dundalk Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FORMAL DISPLAY beat all bar Atlantic Coast on debut at the Curragh and that form looks rock solid with the winner going on to land the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes. The half-brother to six winners including the very smart Time Test was far from disgraced on his only subsequent start behind Diego Velazquez in a Group 2 over this trip at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend. Going Remote stepped forward from his debut when staying on well at Naas and should be suited by a mile while Nine Lives was prominent throughout over C&D a fortnight ago but riding arrangements suggest The Old Nine, a 360,000 guineas son of No Nay Never, is preferred. Emphasis was blinkered and never really involved on debut over C&D but could progress with that experience under his belt.

FORMAL DISPLAY wasn't beaten that far in a Group 2 on only his second start and sets the bar pretty high for a maiden, particularly as there's likely even more to come. Going Remote shaped quite well last time and might be the one for the forecast spot ahead of Cathal, who more then hinted at ability in the Goffs Million on his debut. The Old Nine cost plenty as a yearling and is a newcomer to keep an eye on in the betting.

Having contested at Group 2 level last time, FORMAL DISPLAY can get off the mark dropped back to maiden company

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Manigordo outran his big odds to hit the frame at Ayr in this grade last time and he is an interesting contender on his first start for the Adrian Nicholls stable. However, the vote goes to TRABAJO DETECHO, who wasn't beaten far into third over 7f here last month and he should have no issues with this step back down in distance, so he can regain the winning thread. Woobay is also considered after her runner-up effort at Redcar last time.

The vote goes to DESERT DOCTOR, who scored under Molly Stratton on his penultimate start at Salisbury and, though 8 lb above that winning mark here, he's actually 10 lb lower than when sixth of 11 in a Class 2 event on his latest run on the all-weather in July 2022. Woobay has proved largely consistent this year and she should be on the premises once again, while Manigordo makes each-way appeal on debut for new yard following a creditable effort at Ayr last time.

So Grateful and DESERT DOCTOR return to AW off higher marks than on turf but may still fight out the finish.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Dundalk Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MIGDAM won three times for Sir Michael Stoute holding a career high rating of 96 and has progressed steadily since joining Ado McGuinness this summer winning on his latest start over C&D with Punk Poet and Ransom both behind. The form of that race has worked out well with the third, fifth and sixth all winning next time out. Brains made all for a very easy win in a claimer here last week and shouldn't be lightly dismissed while Freescape has gained all six wins at this venue including off a mark of 104 just before last Christmas. Lust won four times for Ger Lyons including a Listed race at Naas 18 months ago but has been generally disappointing in a light campaign since and has recently joined Mick Mulvany.

A few winners have emerged from the big-field C&D handicap MIGDAM landed last month so a 7 lb rise may not prevent him following up for the Ado McGuinness team. Mulgrave failed to fire on turf over the summer but is much better on this surface and is second choice ahead of last week's C&D claiming winner Brains.

Having run away with a C&D claimer nine days ago the front-running BRAINS (nap) could be hard to beat here from this inside draw

LTO Selection:

20:00 Dundalk Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PINK SOCKS has been in good form most of this season but unlike a lot of her stablemates hasn't quite managed to get her head in front. The selection has filled the runner-up spot in her latest three starts on varying ground conditions including at this venue last Friday when Gurkha Girl, Designer Cailin and Hale Bopp were all behind. Elephant John has dropped considerably in the ratings this year but gave some encouragement when staying on over seven here a fortnight ago and the booking of Colin Keane is certainly a positive. Tiktok Time has shown his best turf form on good ground and could be of interest tackling this surface for the first time.

PINK SOCKS ran well over C&D a week ago and has an in-form apprentice up now, so she's preferred to Stormie Outlook, who should be back on her game after a poor run. Gurkha Girl should also run well but most of the others have something to prove.

This can go the way of PINK SOCKS who has been knocking on the door of late and talented apprentice Wayne Hassett claiming 7lb may help

20:30 Dundalk Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

THE BOG BANK has won twice over this C&D and is a generally consistent sort at this venue. The Tom McCourt-trained mare has been placed on both recent outings here and beat all bar Barbapapa last week. Bucky Larson has gained all bar one of his seven career wins over a mile and is closely matched with Airgead, who was fitted with blinkers for the first time, on running behind Amemri over seven here last month. Von Krolock had Knockmore Prince about five lengths behind when opening his account over seven here last month but faces a stiff enough task off a 10lb higher mark, while others to consider include Tara Power and French import Kiwi Kiss.

The vote goes to THE BOG BANK, who has been holding her form well and a 2 lb rise for her recent second of 14 over this C&D looks manageable. Bucky Larson has dipped to an attractive mark and, having performed with credit at Gowran and over this C&D the last twice, his turn may well be near. Bright Dick remains a maiden following 14 attempts, but he would be a danger to all if he puts his best foot forward. Von Krolock, meanwhile, looks vulnerable up 10 lb for his success over 7f here last time.

A competitive finale but KNOCKMORE PRINCE may be the one to side with. He may have needed his latest run and should relish return to 1m

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
