11:50 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HASHTAG BE KIND returns from a long layoff but ran well on bumper debut as a three-year-old in November 2021. Flat-bred and beaten by a subsequently Listed-placed winner (with a long gap to the remainder) on debut for Jamie Osborne at Warwick, she was subsequently bought for 85,000 pounds and while she missed all of last season, is just a five-year-old and might do well over jumps. Jetara, out of a sister to Jezki, has some excellent bumper and hurdles form but disappointed on her last two runs. A keen-goer, she seemed to be racing almost blind behind horses when blundering twice early-on at Down Royal recently and while capable of far better, nonetheless concedes 8lb to the selection and needs to settle. Stormalong was well beaten at Fairyhouse last month but has some place claims, while Michael ran well enough in a first-time tongue-tie at Clonmel.

Clear form pick JETARA is fancied to take a big step forward from her recent Down Royal eighth after a lay-off and gets the nod over Willie Mullins' Hashtag Be Kind who has a long absence to overcome but still rates a big threat. Michal appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

With questions hanging over Jetara at present after two poor runs, a chance is taken on HASHTAG BE KIND making a winning hurdling.

Two good efforts at Cartmel for this new yard and should be on the scene once more.

(4) Golas Tiep 10/1, Maiden hurdler/chaser who showed fair form at best for Colin A. McBratney. Out of sorts when last seen during the spring however, so interesting to see what the market makes of him starting out for new yard.
13-race maiden in Ireland and was in no form earlier this year.
LTO Selection:

12:05 Catterick Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There were more encouraging signs from BALKOTIC when weakening into fifth late on at Wetherby last time out and the seven-year-old is now 1lb lower in the ratings than his victory in last year's renewal of this contest. A reapplied visor can only help and Micky Hammond's gelding ticks plenty of the right boxes. Could Be Trouble posted a solid third on his reappearance at Southwell in October and is feared most, ahead of Shantou Sunset.

Most arrive with claims in the opener and with that in mind it could be worth chancing last year's winner BALKOTIC. Though out of sorts this summer, there was encouragement to glean from his latest Wetherby effort and, with the visor back on, it would come as no surprise to see him go well operating 1 lb below his last winning mark. Could Be Trouble and Shantou Sunset for the James Moffatt stable are others to consider.

After a good debut for his new yard in novice company this may go to KEEP WONDERING, who dealt with this mark over fences.

LTO Selection:

12:15 Ascot Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BEAT THE BAT shaped with plenty of promise in bumpers last season and made a bright start to his hurdling career when beaten three-quarters of a length in second at Chepstow last month. He and the winner, who looks well above average, pulled nicely clear of the rest that day and normal improvement could make him tough to beat. There are a number of potential dangers, though, including Ideal Des Bordes, who was third in a hot bumper at Warwick in May, and point-to-point scorer Welcom To Cartries.

BEAT THE BAT made a highly promising start to his career over hurdles when runner-up at Chepstow last month and, with the performance backed up by the timefigure, he has to be considered the one to beat. Ideal des Bordes shaped well behind 2 subsequent winners in a Warwick bumper in May and appeals as the type to do well over hurdles for his top stable, with Welcome To Cartries another to take seriously having joined Paul Nicholls following an easy point success.

Chepstow runner-up Beat The Bat holds strong claims but narrow preference is for impressive point winner WELCOM TO CARTRIES.

LTO Selection:

12:20 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BETTER DAYS AHEAD fell on Down Royal hurdles debut recently but has prior winning point-to-point form and was capable in bumpers. A low-sun shadow might have caught him out when falling at the third-last at Down Royal but was travelling strongly at the time and can continue his yard's excellent work. Insouciant Dallier has useful recent hurdles form and while he receives 8lb from the selection, might still struggle to beat him. Kalanisi Flash is a dual point-to-point winner who has also been running well but might also find the selection too strong. Feast was pulled up in his only previous hurdle run and while he has won a bumper, was well beaten in two most recent races and runs in a first-time hood.

Useful-bumper winner BETTER DAYS AHEAD would've have made a successful hurdling debut but for falling 3 out at Downpatrick a couple of weeks back and can gain compensation here. Insouciant Dallier is preferred to Kalanisi Flash for forecast purposes.

If none the worse for his mishap at Down Royal on hurdling debut two weeks ago then BETTER DAYS AHEAD should win.

LTO Selection:

12:30 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Isaac Des Obeaux has been disappointing since his debut bumper success and, although dropped in class following a sixth-placed finish on his hurdling bow at Cheltenham last month, LIVIN ON LUCO makes much more appeal. He was narrowly defeated on his Rules debut over C&D earlier this month and a repeat performance alone, although he is open to any amount of improvement, would make him tough to beat. Captain Boudet may step forward from his pleasing fourth here.

LIVIN ON LUCO produced a promising first effort under Rules when staying on for second in a C&D maiden 16 days ago, and with progress anticipated, he gets the nod to go one place better. Isaac des Obeaux may emerge as the chief threat eased in class, with Captain Boudet and Ask Brewster another pair entitled to do better.

It's hard to knock LIVIN ON LUCO who came wthin a neck of making a successful hurdles debut over C&D 16 days ago. He can go one better.

UNION FLAG made the perfect start for new connections when recently opening his account at Musselburgh. The gelded son of Starspangledbanner looks more than capable of shouldering a penalty on that evidence and a double could be in the offing. Stable debutant Latin Verse should appreciate this return to a left-handed course and he's not taken lightly in receipt of weight, while Torneo is worth a check in the betting market on his hurdles bow.

TORNEO showed a good level of form on the Flat in France and makes plenty of appeal now going hurdling for a yard very much amongst the winners. Musselburghscorer Union Flag is open to further improvement and rates the main threat.

Preference is for TORNEO who was useful on the Flat in France, and his new trainer Jamie Snowden has an excellent 48% strike-rate here.

LTO Selection:

12:50 Ascot Handicap Chase (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Unbeaten hurdler The Carpenter impressed during his last campaign and Nicky Henderson's charge is sure to prove popular now tackling fences for the first time. The seven-year-old isn't taken lightly, but MONVIEL may be the better handicapped of the two. The son of Montmartre found only the smart JPR One too strong on his chase/seasonal bow at Newton Abbot last month and that experience could prove pivotal. Samarrive also enters calculations on his return to this sphere.

None of the quartet can be dismissed but Nicky Henderson's THE CARPENTER was improving fast over hurdles last term and is fancied to go in at the first time of asking in this sphere. Monviel is feared most on the back of his promising chasing debut second at Newton Abbot, with both Samarrive and Supreme Gift not discounted either in an intriguing contest.

Nicky Henderson's THE CARPENTER went a long way in a short space of time over hurdles and he should rank even higher in this discipline.

LTO Selection:

12:55 Fairyhouse Maiden Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MISTER POLICEMAN has a big home reputation and could be high-class over fences. His Irish connections paid the price for him winning a Fontainebleau hurdle in March of 2022 – meaning he had no real novice-hurdle season, and while he didn't show star qualities in winning at Cork in April, nonetheless showed plenty ability and could be capable of far more. Pinkerton finished mid-field in March's County Hurdle and while race-fit having run well on recent chase debut, is vulnerable against high-class types. Deploy The Getaway was a mid-130s rated hurdler who has the size make a better chaser but is long absent while stablemate Feu Du Bresil, rated 123 over hurdles, found form at the end of last season and also has size. Useful hurdler Walk With Paul contests a hot race on fences debut while Gars De Sceaux is almost certain to need this outing as he runs over an inadequate distance. Ottoman Style would also prefer a longer trip.

MISTER POLICEMAN made a most promising start for Willie Mullins when scoring over hurdles at Cork last spring and is fancied to make a winning debut in this sphere. Pinkerton shaped well when a debut chasing third over C&D last time and is next on the list ahead of Gars de Sceaux who also has better days ahead of him and can have a say too.

Off for a year before a pleasing Irish debut at Cork in April, MISTER POLICEMAN can win over fences at the first attempt

13:05 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Mr Grey Sky did the job nicely when scoring on his seasonal debut at Huntingdon earlier this month and he warrants respect lining up off a 5lb higher mark, while New Found Fame bids to make amends for his tumble two out in the same contest. Romancero Le Dun also holds claims representing last year's winning connections, but a chance is taken on LIBBERTY HUNTER. This chasing newcomer boasts some smart bumper/hurdles form, tends to go well fresh and is a dual course winner.

MR GREY SKY resumed with a cosy success at Huntingdon and looks the way to go with more progress on the cards from Kim Bailey's son of Fame And Glory. Fencing-newcomer Romancero Le Dun has plenty to offer in this sphere and rates a big threat, with New Found Fame also in the picture provided he is none the worse for his recent Huntingdon fall.

Romancero Le Dun is respected with his 4yo allowance but MR GREY SKY is taken to defy a rise for his Huntingdon success this month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Royle Steel justified strong support in the betting market when landing the spoils at Sedgefield last month and the five-year-old is likely to prove popular once more off only 2lb higher. However, FIVE DOLLAR FINE displayed enough ability on his chase bow third over an extended 1m7f at Hexham recently to suggest that he can land a race of this nature, with the step up in trip looking ideal. Limerick Leader and Take Centre Stage are others to note.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and TAKE CENTRE STAGE, who made a promising start in this sphere when fourth at Kelso, looks the way to go with progress very much on the cards. Hexham-third Five Dollar Fine also has better days ahead of him and rates the chief danger, with Sedgefield-scorer Royle Steel also well in the mix.

A chance is taken on TAKE CENTRE STAGE, who jumped well on his chase debut at Kelso and looked as though he might win for a long way.

LTO Selection:

13:25 Ascot Conditions Hurdle (Class 2) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Inthewaterside maintained his unbeaten record with a narrow success at Aintree last month. It's hard to gauge the strength of that form due to the omission of hurdles, but he's in excellent hands and should continue to progress. That said, a chance is taken on DODDIETHEGREAT. Nicky Henderson's charge also arrives in a bid to extend his unblemished record and, though the gelded son of Fame And Glory hasn't been seen since scoring at Kempton in November of 2021, this looks another winnable opportunity. Cloud Dancer can follow the pair home.

INTHEWATERSIDE was unimpressive in maintaining his unbeaten record on hurdles debut at Aintree last month, but that was a race not run to suit, and with this drop in trip unlikely to inconvenience Paul Nicholls' 5-y-o, he can land this on his way to bigger things. Doddiethegreat looked a very good prospect when last seen 2 years ago and he's an intriguing contender from another top stable.

This can go to Aintree winner INTHEWATERSIDE whose connections hold very high hopes for him in the campaign ahead.

13:30 Fairyhouse Handicap Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Four-time point-to-point winner CROI CORCRA will be suited by reverting to this trip having been well beaten over two miles at Clonmel last month. She is no star but is suited by soft ground and is 1lb lower than at Clonmel with today's rider claiming 7lb. Kilashee has failed in nine chases but is a dual hurdle winner who ran well at Clonmel last month and goes on testing ground. Broken Ice jumped poorly at Chepstow last month and while he has Maxine O'Sullivan's assistance, would prefer better ground. Dragon Rock beat Wild Caprice to win a Tramore maiden hurdle in July 2022 but their best form is on good ground. Lizrona is a dual winner who likes heavy ground.

BROKEN ICE hails from a yard among the winners and is fancied to capitalise on a lenient mark and edge out Dragon Rock who takes a drop in class here. Croi Corcra appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

Stamina will be essential here and CROI CORCRA has plenty to offer in that department as a four-time winner in points

13:40 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LOWRY'S BAR justified strong market support when making a winning hurdles debut at Wincanton last month and that form has been franked with the runner-up scoring readily since. Although a penalty will obviously make life tougher, he is fancied to complete the double. Nedzor has undergone wind surgery since his second in a Bishops Court point-to-point contest in March and he is an intriguing player on his Rules bow, while My Lady Phoenix completes the shortlist.

LOWRY'S BAR appeals as the type to go on from his Wincanton hurdle debut success and is taken to defy a penalty. It will be interesting to see if the betting vibes are strong surrounding Irish point recruit Nedzor.

There was a lot to like about the Wincanton success of LOWRY'S BAR and he can defy a penalty.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Catterick Handicap Chase (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Geromino has proven himself to be a consistent performer in recent starts and Donald McCain's gelding is unlikely to be far away, but ARTHUR'S QUAY turned a warm class 2 into a procession last time and he looks more than capable of defying a subsequent 6lb rise. Wetherby scorer Getaway Luv must enter the reckoning from just 2lb higher, while Tokay Dokey is far from out of this despite the lengthy absence.

HELLO JUDGE has got back on track over fences this season, showing a determined attitude when scoring at Carlisle last month, and he can continue his good run of form to follow up. Geromino has also been holding his form well and could be thereabouts once more, while Tokay Dokey is an interesting contender despite having a lengthy absence to overcome.

Topweight GEROMINO was a creditable second in a 1m7f handicap at Wetherby last time and earns the vote ahead of Getaway Luv.

LTO Selection:

14:00 Ascot Handicap Chase (Class 2) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

The Venetia Williams team have started the season in excellent form and Fire Dancer, who steps outside of novice company for the first time, must be considered with that in mind. Preference, however, is for FLEGMATIK. Dan Skelton's charge finished third to Your Darling is this race 12 months ago, but he's 5lb better off today and is entitled to improve for his recent pipe-opener (running well when hampered and unseating). Others to note include Mackenberg and Fidelio Vallis.

FIDELIO VALLIS has shaped as if as good as ever on his 2 starts since joining Harry Derham, again finishing runner-up at Musselburgh on his reappearance, so he is taken to get back to winning ways with his recent run behind him. Heading the list of dangers is Fire Dancer who returns with his yard in excellent form, while Flegmatik is another who merits consideration.

Perhaps the most intriguing runner is FIRE DANCER, who looked well treated off just 4lb lower when winning first time out last season.

LTO Selection:

14:05 Fairyhouse Hunter Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GLOBAL ASSEMBLY has a head to find with Grange Island on Clonmel January form but is 5lb better off and is race-fit. A dual point-to-point winner, the selection is consistent, has Barry O'Neill's assistance and seems equally as effective over three-miles as Clonmel's 2m4f. Grange Island has obvious claims if replicating that Clonmel form and also when chasing home Billaway and Ferns Lock on subsequent runs. However his last two runs were disappointing and now makes his seasonal reappearance. The selection's stablemate Ask D'man is probably the most talented here and having won the aforementioned Clonmel hunters chase in January 2022, again proved his worth later that season. However he reappears following a long layoff. Dromleigh and Keep Me Posted have winning point-to-point form while All Loved Up doesn't.

This could be between stablemates GLOBAL ASSEMBLY and Ask D'Man, who are closely matched at the weights. The former has more potential and doesn't have fitness to prove, so he gets the marginal vote, with Grange Island not completely dismissed.

With the advantage of race fitness. GLOBAL ASSEMBLY can beat long-absent stablemate Ask D'Man who has stronger overall credentials

14:15 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Wot You Wearing powered clear in the closing stages over C&D last time and he merits the utmost respect despite being raised 7lb, as well as racing from 1lb out of the handicap today, but the vote goes to JUST OVER LAND. He plugged on for third over 2m here last month but, being a full-brother to the useful Good Risk At All, who thrived at this trip, the unexposed four-year-old is fancied to take a step forward today. Midnight Ginger heads the remainder.

JUST OVER LAND came from further back than ideal when third here on return and is bred to prove better than his current mark of 100, so is fancied to get off the mark at the chief expense of Secret Plan, who rates as a likely improver now handicapping. Midnight Ginger completes the shortlist on her return.

Just Over Land and SECRET PLAN appeal as big improvers and the latter is taken to make a winning handicap debut.

14:25 Catterick Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DOC MCCOY impressed when winning on his hurdles debut at Huntingdon last month and the son of Getaway might be difficult to beat, with improvement on the cards. Got Your Back finished third in a Wetherby bumper on his sole start under Rules and the son of Milan appeals as the type to progress now switched to timber, while others to note include Bugise Seagull and Desert Quest, who switches his attentions from the Flat.

A big field but not many arrive with obvious claims. DOC MCCOY won nicely on his hurdle debut and is taken to defy the penalty with improvement on the cards. Got Your Back shaped well in a bumper in the spring and is a possible threat having switched to Donald McCain ahead of his hurdle debut. Irish point recruit Bugise Seagull is another who would come into it should the betting vibes be strong.

Huntingdon winner Doc McCoy holds strong claims under a penalty but GOT YOUR BACK is taken to build on his previous promise.

LTO Selection:

14:35 Ascot Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Faivoir's victory in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham in March is a standout piece of form and Dan Skelton's eight-year-old makes the shortlist, despite being pulled up in a similar race over course and distance 20 days ago. The quick turnaround suggests he has come out of that race well and better can be expected. However, the improving JILAIJONE is on an upward trajectory and may be able to make the most of a competitive current mark. Gin Coco also has to enter calculations.

GIN COCO should be sharper with his Ffos Las reappearance behind him and looks sure to make a bold bid if bouncing back to anything like the form he showed when runner-up in last season's Greatwood Hurdle. The reliable Zambezi Fix went close off this mark at Lingfield last week and is second choice ahead of Jilaijone.

The 4yo JILAIJONE has an improving profile and is taken to post a deserved win, having finished second on his last four starts.

14:40 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PAPA BARNS runs in another Fairyhouse handicap hurdle and, like Goldilocks, the ingredients for this third attempt might be just right. Having initially tried two-miles, and then 2m4f, today's longer distance could suit and he remains a shade unexposed. Reserve Judgement was in contention when falling at Down Royal and while much of his form is on a sound surface, should still compete from his rating. Dual winner Courting Vickie ran well at Wexford recently while veteran Mick Charlie have been running well in similar races. In-form Breagagh runs over this distance for the first time while Vengaboy is worth noting as he steps up markedly in distance and is totally unexposed.

BREAGAGH was right at his best when second at Sligo last time and he might be able to go one better from a 2-lb higher mark. Reserve Judgement and Mick Charlie also arrive in good order, so they're worthy of interest, too.

It is significant that RESERVE JUDGEMENT is turned out again quickly after his fall at Down Royal two weeks ago and he can make amends

14:50 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

With the Venetia Williams team in flying form, it might be worth taking a chance on PENNY MALLOW. She has yet to fire after three starts over the larger obstacles, but the daughter of Kapgarde is able to compete from a reduced mark, and recent wind surgery could give her a boost. Lazy Sunday returned to action with a creditable second at Ffos Las 12 days ago and she looks the most likely threat, while C&D hurdles winner Shesupincourt must enter the reckoning on her fencing bow.

LAZY SUNDAY ran well on her recent Ffos Las reappearance and is by far the most solid option here, although a market move for the returning Penny Mallow would make her a possible threat given the excellent form of the Venetia Williams stable.

Penny Mallow is risky but a wind op could help. That said, LAZY SUNDAY (nap) is progressing well and can win again.

15:00 Catterick Handicap Chase (Class 3) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ANTI BRIDGIE dropped a significant hint that a race of this nature is within her reach when she was a respectable third at Carlisle on her chasing debut last month. The stiffer test of stamina was a key factor in an improved effort that day and she has a lot going for her off just 2lb higher. Twoshotsoftequila and Shanty Alley both bounced back to form last time and are feared most, in that order of preference.

SOME SCOPE was an improver across a light hurdling campaign last year and would have finished much closer at Wetherby if not for a bad mistake on chase debut, so is given the nod to make it seconf time lucky in this sphere. Twoshotsoftequila was caught only late at Carlisle last time and is another for the shortlist, with Anti Bridgie and Shanty Alley also considered in a open-looking event.

Off a competitive mark and having started last season so well, preference is for assured stayer SHANTY ALLEY (nap).

15:10 Ascot Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

TEA CLIPPER lost little in defeat when finding only the highly-rated Stolen Silver too good on his reappearance at Chepstow last month and a 2lb drop in the ratings, as well as being eased in class, may be enough for Tom Lacey's gelding to get his head in front. Unanswered Prayers looked set to place over C&D recently but for for falling at the last. The seven-year-old is feared most if none the worse for that spill, while the progressive Switch Hitter is also respected.

With the exception of his effort in last season's Scottish National, MANOTHEPEOPLE has done very little wrong since switched to fences and he put that Ayr disappointment behind him when going close on return at Exeter. The best is surely yet to come from this low-mileage 8-y-o and the fitting of cheekpieces could help eke out that little bit more that will be needed here. Unanswered Prayers is feared most ahead of Tea Clipper and Emir Sacree, while Hold That Taught is also worth a second look.

Unanswered Prayers is a tempting option but preference is for HOLD THAT TAUGHT, who is on a reduced mark and goes well fresh.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

D B COOPER won on April point-to-point debut and following his 225,000 pounds sale, has joined leading connections. The form of his Ballyknock point-to-point win, for handler Sean Doyle, is unproven as yet but it is encouraging the runner-up was also purchased (for E155,000) by trainer Elliott for owners Gigginstown, with 30 lengths back to the third-horse. Jeroboam Machin, a half-brother to useful Joyeux Machin, also won on Durrow point-to-point debut for Cormac Doyle and while that form is also unproven, the runner-up was sold to England for 55,000 pounds. His trainer, notably, has won bumpers with Noble Yeats and Feronlily and has a 27 percent bumper strike-rate in this sphere. Minella Staycation fell at the third-last when leading a recent point-to-point while dual winner Raceview Road was well beaten in a recent Winners Of Three point. Mount Gallion disappointed in June and runs in a first-time tongue-tie.

D B COOPER cost plenty on the back of his point win in April and, having joined a top yard, he's preferred to Jeroboam Machin in a race that the pair are likely to dominate. Raceview Road looks the pick of the remainder.

Gordon Elliott's D B COOPER beat a well-regarded rival at Ballyknock and may beat Jeroboam Mac, a winning favourite at Durrow

Low-key stable debut over fences last week; return of blinkers not enough to tempt.
LTO Selection:

15:25 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ben Lilly regained the winning thread when landing a second success of the season at Wincanton in mid-October. A 3lb rise is unlikely to prevent another bold bid from David Pipe's gelding, but DEAR RALPHY makes slightly more appeal. The seven-year-old was only foiled by a well-supported rival when runner-up at Plumpton on Monday and a similar level of performance may suffice on this quick turnaround. C&D winner Bobo Mac also enters calculations off a tumbling mark.

The vote goes to DEAR RALPHY, who produced by far his best effort yet when hitting the crossbar off this mark at Plumpton on Monday and, provided this doesn't come too soon, a reproduction of that would put him firmly in the picture. Last year's winner Bobo Mac should strip fitter following his reappearance spin at Warwick and he is feared most ahead of To Be Sure and the in-form Ben Lilly.

Dear Ralphy should go well but perhaps blinkers will inspire LANSPARK to show his best form.

Defence Witness, Gwash and Iorangi De L'isle are interesting point-to-point recruits and are ones for the notebook as they debut under Rules. The first-named appeals most on pedigree and was snapped up for 30,000 pounds after a facile win between the flags at Bonvilston in April. However, TRUDIE GLEN already has experience in this sphere and shades the vote, with her sex allowance rated a useful asset.

TRUDIE GLEN shaped nicely on debut at Ludlow in the spring and, while she has a trio of interesting pointers to see off, she's the most appealing. Iorangie de L'Isle and Gwash have joined shrewd stables and warrant close scrutiny in the market.

A difficult race to approach with any confidence. TRUDIE GLEN might be the answer with the benefit of bumper experience.

15:45 Ascot Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A case can be made for each of the 10 declared runners here, with ROCCO ROYALE shading the verdict. This improving gelding comfortably beat a useful sort (won twice since) over 2m3f at Fontwell last time and this step up in trip could potentially unlock another gear. Like the selection, Rebel Intentions should benefit from his conditional jockey's claim and the recent course scorer must enter calculations. Scamallach Liath and Spring Note are others to consider in what looks a tricky puzzle for punters to solve.

MADAKET looked well ahead of her opening mark when scoring readily at Chepstow last time and he's worth a chance to go in again for all that he faces some formidable opposition in the shape of Rocco Royale and Seefin, who also look progressive.

The 6yo SCAMALLACH LIATH (nap) beat everything bar a prolific winner here in April and returns with his new yard going great guns.

HIGHLANDS LEGACY finished a respectable second on his debut in a bumper at Ffos Las last month and the Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding could go one place better with that race experience under his belt. Rules newcomer Below The Radar represents top connections and any support in the market would bring the five-year-old into the reckoning, while winning pointer San Frandisco is another who likely has a bright future now entering this domain.

BELOW THE RADAR was runner-up twice in points and has been picked up by top connections so, while he's likely to come good further down the line, he may well have enough ability to make a successful Rules debut. Fellow point recruit San Frandisco is a danger and Highlands Legacy shaped with plenty of encouragement first time out.

This can go to HIGHLANDS LEGACY, who's had a recent run and should appreciate the stiff test. Below The Radar is next best.

16:15 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A tightly-knit handicap introduces the welcome return of racing at Southwell. It remains to be seen how the course will ride after the recent upheaval caused by flood damage, but AL BAAHY has proven best when on the front-end and could be hard to reel in if allowed to dictate from a handy rails draw. A strong pace would be beneficial for Regal Fanfare and Just Janet, who head the list dangers, although Rich Rhythm also enters calculations.

A case can be made for a few of these but Sir Michael Stoute's low-mileage filly REGAL FANFARE can race off the same mark as when a very good Wolverhampton second last time so edges the vote. Mark's Choice has started life well with Gemma Tutty and rates a big threat ahead of Rich Rhythm and Just Janet.

The vote goes to GRENHAM BAY who has dropped 5lb below his last winning mark. He has been shaping as though the return to 7f will suit.

16:45 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Arts Of War showed promise at Newmarket 20 days ago and rates a leading contender, while Kathmandu can figure if sharper from the stalls than she was at Kempton on her racecourse bow. Nevertheless, John Quinn sends out a notable newcomer in the shape of KENDALINA, who is certainly bred to have plenty of ability and will likely know her job first time out.

ARTS OF WAR shaped with a good deal of promise when fourth on testing ground at Newmarket 3 weeks ago, impressing with how she travelled, and she's fancied to build on that here and make a bold bid. Kathmandu similarly shaped well on her respective debut and she's another likely improver, with Hot Fashion another firmly in the mix back from a break.

The choice is KATHMANDU, who gave the impression she was capable of better when not beaten far into fifth on her Kempton debut.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Dundalk Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TARAJ has shown definite promise on both outings in Curragh maidens on varying ground conditions and sets a fair standard. The Dermot Weld-trained colt came home strongly when beaten just over a length on debut over this trip before filling the runner-up spot behind Gasper De Lemos over seven. That winner went on to finish second in a Group 3 at Newmarket. The Old Nine enters calculations following a promising third on debut behind the odds-on Formal Display over C&D a fortnight ago, while Heliogabalus took a big step forward from his debut when a close third here last month. Joseph O'Brien sends out a team of four runners and perhaps Peretti, who cost 180,000 euro as a yearling and has plenty of stamina on the dam side, may prove the pick.

TARAJ sets the bar pretty high on his 2 runs at the Curragh at the end of the summer and gets the nod for the Dermot Weld team. The Old Nine made a promising start to his career when third in a C&D maiden a fortnight ago and is second choice ahead of Heliogabalus, who also arrives on the back of a placed effort over C&D. Market support for any of the Joseph O'Brien newcomers would also bring them into the reckoning.

This can go the way of TARAJ (nap) who has run 2 big races in Curragh maidens so far and should have no problem with the switch to AW

LTO Selection:

17:15 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go to one of the debutants and, while Sea Regal and Miss Kubelik are a couple of well-bred newcomers running for high-profile yards, it is ELMALKA, a half-sister to multiple Group-race winner Benbatl, who captures the imagination most. Also related to a couple of winners on the all-weather, the daughter of Kingman is bred to be effective over this sort of trip and it would come as no surprise to see her primed to strike at the first time of asking.

ELMALKA is out of a dual Group 1 winning dam and she's taken to make a winning debut. Leveret sets a clear standard amongst those with prior experience, with Sea Regal and Miss Kubelik other well-bred newcomers representing top connections.

The vote goes to Benbatl's half-sister ELMALKA whose stable has been doing well with 2yo newcomers on the AW lately.

17:30 Dundalk Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHISPERSINTHEWIND ran a cracker on debut when staying on well inside the final furlong to take third behind Milliat with September Leaves about a length back in fifth. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly again shaped well here over seven furlongs when beating all bar Sweetest a fortnight ago and the half-sister to Royal Lodge winner Mohawk should be suited by the step up to a mile. Raknah joined Jessica Harrington about two months ago and has shown promise on a couple of occasions while Madam Celeste is certainly a newcomer to note being by Galileo out of a prolific winning juvenile whose victories include the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. She cost 750,000 euro at the Goffs Orby Sale, while Sylkie is another to consider being out of a winning daughter of Australia.

MADAM CELESTLE looks the part on paper and it will look highly significant if the market speaks in her favour. If the vibes surrounding this €750,000 Galileo filly in the betting are upbeat, the hint should be taken. Whispersinthewind is the clear pick of those with experience and she is greatly respected. September Leaves is best of the rest.

This can go the way of WHISPERSINTHEWIND who has gone close in two seven furlong maidens here and she should relish this longer trip

AL FARABI confirmed the promise shown in France when scoring easily on his British/stable debut at Kempton last month and, despite having to shoulder a penalty, he is very much the one to beat. Abbey Gardens also brings winning form to the table, having just done enough at Newcastle recently, and she rates the biggest threat. Rooska, Paultons Square and Guy Fawkes are others to watch out for.

After 7 months off, AL FARABI made a winning start for Roger Varian in good style at Kempton a month ago and he can score again with more still to come. Abbey Gardens also opened her account at the second attempt and is respected in her follow-up bid, with Rooska completing the shortlist.

The vote goes to AL FARABI, who had little to beat on stable debut at Kempton last month but did it in the style of a nice type.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Dundalk Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There is little to choose between Big Dream and TIKTOK TIME on running behind Chummie over C&D a fortnight ago with slight preference for the three-year-old. The David Marnane-trained filly appeared to enjoy her first experience on this surface and may have more scope for improvement. Big Dream won a maiden here over a mile and has dropped down considerably in the ratings having not shown much in the intervening two years. Feature This was prominent throughout when beating subsequent winner Skontonovski here earlier this month with What Adaay back in third, while Fleetfootsoldier and Monzoon also both won over C&D last time. The Bog Bank has been a model of consistency since returning here in recent weeks.

THE BOG BANK is nothing if not reliable and she is taken to deservedly get her head back in front having twice hit the crossbar in C&D handicaps this month. Last-time-out winners Feature This and Fleetfootsoldier are feared most in that order of preference but Big Dream went close here a fortnight ago and is also likely to be in the mix.

A chance is taken on TIKTOK TIME, who finished to some effect over C&D a fortnight when left with plenty to do

LTO Selection:

18:15 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

AL RUFAA won impressively over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton last week and a 5lb penalty probably wouldn't be enough to stop him if he can reproduce that level of performance. Court Of Session caught the eye when a staying-on fourth at Chelmsford last month and he is entitled to improve for that first outing since June, while Eligible and Kaaranah are other names to note.

AL RUFAA is unexposed for his current stable and had plenty to spare when scoring at Wolverhampton a week ago so, if the race doesn't come too soon, he should be able to follow up. Kaaranah fits a similar profile as an impressive last-time-out winner who is still well treated, so he's regarded as the main danger ahead of Court of Session.

Rated as high as 105 in the past, AL RUFAA bounced back to form a week ago and is 2lb well-in. Court Of Session is second choice.

LTO Selection:

18:30 Dundalk Stakes 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HIGHTIMEYOUWON is probably best over this trip and can defy top-weight to record a fourth win this year. The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding won over C&D back in January before adding two further victories on good ground at Leopardstown and shaped well on his return to the polytrack when only going down by half a length to the progressive Dandyville. Punk Poet has gained all five course wins over a mile including his latest outing a fortnight ago but is also very effective over this distance, while Pier Pressure justified strong support in a maiden over C&D last time and blinkers may extract more improvement on just his sixth start. Sea Chariot is another coming here on the back of a course win while any market move for Cu Chulainn would be interesting.

The vote in this trappy-looking contest goes to SEA CHARIOT, who made it 2-3 here when landing a 1m handicap on his first run since being gelded 16 days ago. Punk Poet displayed a willing attitude when resuming winning ways at this course a fortnight ago and should deliver another a bold show, while Hightimeyouwon has been holding his form well and C&D maiden winner Pier Pressure has to enter calculations, too.

Recent winner SEA CHARIOT likely has more to offer although will need a truly-run race back in trip

LTO Selection:

18:45 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Art Fantastique makes his all-weather debut on the back of victories at Windsor and Brighton and he must enter calculations, but CHAPMAN gets the nod. He was narrowly defeated by a subsequent winner on his handicap debut at Lingfield last month and, open to greater improvement, he looks capable of defying a 1lb rise in the ratings. Zachary and Gloves add further spice to the race.

ZACHARY probably found the race coming too soon at Chelmsford last time but he was impressive at that track on his previous outing and he's fancied to resume progress. Hat-trick seeker Art Fantastique is another player and Chapman can't be ruled out.

Gloves needs to settle upped to 6f and CHAPMAN, whose Lingfield second a month ago reads well enough, looks the better option.

19:00 Dundalk Handicap 6f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HERO OF THE HOUR won three times over C&D earlier this year and following a summer break has returned to form at this venue. The selection did well after a slow start when fourth to Empress Of Bough and should appreciate the drop back to six furlongs having again shaped well when third to Mullacash Buzz last week. Lockdown showed much improved form when just denied by a head in that aforementioned race won by Empress Of Bough, while others to consider include Jazzy Dancer and Havan Notion. The latter won over the minimum trip at Tipperary this summer and should enjoy the step up to six after finishing strongly here last week when beating all bar Realtin Fantasy.

HERO OF THE HOUR shaped well over 7f here last week and is worth siding with to build on that promise having dipped to below his last winning mark. Lockdown was only narrowly denied over C&D last time and heads the dangers along with Havana Notion and Darcy's Rock, the mount of Colin Keane.

HAVANA NOTION was doing his best work at the finish over 7f here recently and this extra furlong should suit

19:15 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

EL HIBRI wasn't disgraced when finishing fourth from an uncompromising position at Newcastle on Sunday and the fitting of a first-time visor may unlock enough improvement for the four-year-old to land the spoils here. C&D winner Catesby made the frame at Wolverhampton recently and Scott Dixon's charge is likely to be on the premises again. Fellow in-form rival Henery Hawk isn't taken lightly and completes the shortlist.

HENERY HAWK came up short when bidding for the hat-trick at Wolverhampton last week and, turned out again quickly off the same mark, he could be the answer. Next on the list is Flash The Dash, who was a good third at Newcastle following a wind op and he is likely to get his head in front before long. Catesby and El Hibri are also considered.

It could be worth taking a chance with SHE'S THE DANGER who is 10lb lower than when third of 14 in a 0-75 over C&D late last year.

19:30 Dundalk Handicap 11f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

NEVERFINDANOTHER U has won twice over C&D this year including on her penultimate start when just getting the better of Darkened. The daughter of Dragon Pulse backed that up by going close behind Bright N Shine earlier this month and the form received a boost with the fourth winning since. Comfort Line has dropped considerably in the ratings this year but gave plenty of encouragement when second to Shining Aitch here on Wednesday, while Storm Eric, twice a winner here over seven furlongs, finished well over a mile on the same card but is not proven over this trip. Snag It made a winning start for Pat Murphy earlier this month while others to consider include topweight Dabana, Breezy Zoff and Stormy Jenn.

NEVERFINDANOTHER U is building up a solid record over C&D, adding to her tally on her penultimate start prior to another solid effort when runner-up 16 days ago. She looks sure to go well again and earns the vote, with Stormy Jenn and Dabana others to consider. Storm Eric is also interesting provided this marked longer trip doesn't stretch him.

On the back of some very solid turf form BREEZY ZOFF can score on her third AW start

19:45 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BRIGHT made the perfect start for new connections when opening his account in novice contest at Wolverhampton last month. Mark Loughnane's gelding makes his handicap bow off what looks a workable mark and a double appears a distinct possibility. Dual course winner Rose King clearly enjoys it here and he may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Angle Land, who has dropped to an attractive rating.

LEODIS DREAM lost no caste in defeat when touched off at Newcastle a fortnight ago and he is taken to go one better here, perhaps at the chief expense of Khabib, who is now 3 lb below his last winning mark and has been knocking on the door of late. Rose King is 2-3 here and looks sure to be in the thick of things once again, while handicap-debutant Bright is another to consider in what looks like an open race.

The choice is KHABIB (nap) whose record over C&D reads 1223. He drops into a 0-75 for the first time since March of last year.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Dundalk Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SAND CASTLE likes to race up with the pace and won over C&D last winter. The selection is quite lightly raced since on turf and ran a cracker on his return to the polytrack last Friday when a close fifth behind Golden Sandbanks. The booking of Colin Keane gives plenty of encouragement. Believe In Science is still seeking a first win after 18 starts but shaped well on a number of occasions including when third over 1m5f at Leopardstown this summer and again was prominent throughout when a promising fourth behind the progressive Celtic Revival here at the start of this month. Lucky Queen has generally been campaigned over shorter trips but ran quite well over 1m4f on testing ground at Galway last time.

BELIEVE IN SCIENCE's maiden status is off-putting but he ran well when fourth in a C&D handicap on his latest outing 23 days ago and could just be worth chancing to get off the mark operating from a career-low mark. Sand Castle, under Colin Keane, and Clever Capall are others to consider, with Riyami also worth keeping an eye on.

A few in with chances but SAND CASTLE goes well at this venue and he may be worth chancing after a close up fifth over C&D last week

LTO Selection:

20:15 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

EAGLE'S REALM arrives at the top of his game, as evidenced in his recent victories at Wolverhampton and Newcastle. The five-year-old escapes a penalty for his latest success in an apprentice event and he's hard to oppose racing off the same mark. Fellow last-time-out winner Shadowfax may give the gelded son of Free Eagle most to think about, shortly followed by Prince Abu.

EAGLE'S REALM and Carlos Felix both escape penalties for their wins in apprentice company at Newcastle last week and are the pair to focus on, with a narrow preference for the former with Billy Loughnane doing the steering. Hidden Depths and Kiss My Face can fight it out for third.

Dual C&D winner PRINCE ABU has been suggesting he is about ready to strike having dropped 7lb below his last winning mark.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Dundalk Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SPINNING WEB has a poor draw in 17 but appears on a nice mark and has recent form. His initial form was poor but improved considerably running over hurdles and ran well in a big-field handicap last month. He drops in distance and has disappointed on his only start on this surface but is a progressive three-year-old who should now show himself in a better light. Race-fit, in-form Clever Currency has won both over hurdles and fences and while he should, in theory, better his lowly Flat rating, has nonetheless failed in 11 previous runs and might prefer slightly further. Firm Belief ran well on career debut here last February and having since won a big-field Navan handicap last month, can compete despite hauling top weight. Dual winner Gracesolution is helped by her rider's 5lb claim.

SPINNING WEB has made more of an impact over hurdles/on the Flat during the second half of this year, again running with credit when fifth in a big-field Navan handicap over further 37 days ago. He can make a bold bid to defy his basement mark back down in trip, with Gracesolution heading up the dangers. Clever Currency and Firm Belief are others to consider.

There's a good chance that GRACESOLUTION needed her recent comeback. She's on a good mark and went close here last winter
