LTO Selection:

12:00 Stratford Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DRUMLEE SPUD looked outpaced over the extended 2m3f at Bangor last month, so it was to her credit that she was only beaten a neck into second. Ben Pauling's charge ought to have learned plenty from that initial experience and she is fancied to go one better now upped in trip. Point winner Coco Mademoiselle made a winning start under Rules when successful in a bumper last season. She needs taking seriously today, as does Newmill Getaway, who hit the woodwork at Exeter three weeks ago.

Having landed a point, COCO MADEMOISELLE created a good impression when winning a bumper at Wetherby 7 months ago and she's fancied to make a successful start to hurdling at the likely expense of Drumlee Spud, a fellow winner between the flags who has already offered plenty of encouragement under Rules. Newmill Getaway is another one to consider.

12:10 Lingfield Stakes (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With the Nicky Henderson team starting to get into top gear it may be sensible to side with BY THE GRACE. The four-year-old is having her second start after coming home second at Southwell in May and is reported to be in great shape ahead of her return. That experience may give her the edge. Mr Monopoly is an interesting runner for Harry Fry and could be one to watch, along with Solid Silver, a rare bumper runner for Sir Mark Prescott.

BY THE GRACE found only one with experience on her side too strong at Southwell back in May so provided she's ready to roll after 6 months off, Nicky Henderson's filly gets the nod to go a place better at the expense of Seaside Legend, who has clearly had his problems (bled last time and makes reappearance following a second wind op) but showed a fair level of ability on debut. Newcomers Mr Monopoly and Solid Silver look best of the rest.

Preference is for Sir Mark Prescott's newcomer SOLID SILVER, who has AW winners in her pedigree.

LTO Selection:

12:30 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Quantum Cat wouldn't be far away if he were to run anywhere near his official rating of 85, but the Kitten's Joy colt does have something to prove after finishing in ninth at Newmarket in April. With that in mind, this could prove a suitable opportunity for TO CATCH A THIEF to gain a breakthrough victory. The William Haggas-trained gelding posted a solid third at Leicester in June and a similar level of performance may suffice, while Climate Queen and Apple Gin may enjoy more success once in handicaps.

This looks a straightforward match between TO CATCH A THIEF and Quantum Cat. The former took a step forward from his debut effort when third at Leicester back in June and there's likely more to come back from a break/having been gelded.

Preference is for TO CATCH A THIEF, now he's upped in trip having been gelded. Quantum Cat is the danger.

(2) No Recollection 18/1, Modest hurdler. 66/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Carlisle (17.2f, soft) 14 days ago. Not discounted if back on his A-game.
Won a Worcester handicap (2m, good) in June but has lost his form more recently.
LTO Selection:

12:35 Stratford Selling Hurdle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Donnie Azoff struck over an extended 2m here in September and he must be respected following a series of creditable efforts, but Jamie Snowden's charge might struggle conceding 8lb to VORASHANN, who is 9lb clear on official ratings. The seven-year-old hasn't been seen since contesting a class 3 handicap on Boxing Day, but this looks an excellent opportunity to make a winning reappearance. Laser Focus appeals most of the remainder.

DONNIE AZOFF was successful over hurdles here in September so is fancied to bounce back in style quickly reverted to this sphere after a poor-jumping chasing fourth at Southwell last time. Iddergem is a long time without a run but still commands plenty of respect for the in-form Olly Murphy yard, while No Recollection must enter calculations too if back on song.

Maiden winner in March; tailed off on last month's stable debut; tongue-strap on.
LTO Selection:

12:45 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THE IMPOSTER hasn't been seen since April but he arrives with six wins from his last seven races, unbeaten on both appearances here, and has been a revelation since stepping up in trip. He does have a new high mark to suffer but if able to keep on improving, the six-year-old may add to past successes. Ben Lilly was value for further after idling in front when winning at Wincanton last month and could go well, with Leading Swoop and Scamallach Liath others for the shortlist.

SCAMALLACH LIATH shaped well without getting his head in front for Oliver Sherwood last term and is fancied to capitalise on a lenient mark now starting out for Harry Derham. The Imposter enjoyed a fine campaign last season when going in no less than six times and this C&D winner is feared most on his return ahead of in-form duo Halligator and Ben Lilly.

The progressive THE IMPOSTER could continue his winning streak.

LTO Selection:

12:55 Thurles Maiden Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BATTLE OF RIDGEWAY was a winner over hurdles when last seen at Clonmel in May and this looks like a nice starting point for him over fences. The Califet gelding scored on his handicap debut on his last outing and went up to a mark of 101 for that victory. That means he is a pound below the limit for this restricted contest. The fact that he has point-to-point experience is a plus. Tomas O Maille is on the top mark of 102 over hurdles and again this is a perfect place to start him off over fences. He was consistent without winning over the smaller obstacles. Uncle Gerhard was placed in a couple of handicap hurdles in the spring and is another that has to be considered back over fences, having been a fair enough fifth on his sole outing here back in March 2022.

TOMAS O MAILLE has been in consistent form over hurdles and seems a likely type to take to the larger obstacles, so he gets the tentative vote in a tricky contest. Fellow chasing debutant Battle of Ridgeway is a danger and Battle Away should take a hand if she can back up her latest effort.

13:05 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HEARTRATE returned to form with a third-placed finish over 6f at this venue last Tuesday and the three-year-old is fancied to regain the winning thread now returning to 7f. First-time cheekpieces should only help Mark Loughnane's gelding and he may get the better of the in-form Phoenix Fire. The son of Fast Company has been in good heart on the turf of late and he's likely to be in the mix, along with the downgraded Intervention.

INTERVENTION failed to build on the promise of his last run here 9 days ago, but he wasn't seen to best effect having got no cover out wide, so is well worth another chance. Heartrate isn't long with his current yard and heads the dangers, along with Mykonos St John, who posted a seasonal best at Lingfield last week.

Scott Dixon has a strong hand with Mykonos St John and Visibility but PHOENIX FIRE gets the vote on his drop back in trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

NICKLE BACK turned a potentially trappy heat into a procession at Warwick, where he recorded a 24-length success. Sarah Humphrey's charge was hit with a 10lb rise for that win, but he can only improve over the larger obstacles and might be a tough nut to crack. Hystery Bere was in action on the Flat last month and that should have teed him up nicely for today. He can give the selection most to think about, while Shakem Up'arry is also noted.

NICKLE BACK made a striking successful debut over fences at Warwick on return 4 weeks ago, producing a bold-jumping display from the front, and he looks capable of defying a 10 lb rise with more to come. Shakem Up'arry ran well in some top handicaps last season and has a good record fresh, so rates a big threat, while Hystery Bere is another who took well to chasing when scoring at Warwick in May.

Point winner EL MUCHACHO is open to improvement on this first run over fences and he is the selection ahead of Hystery Bere.

LTO Selection:

13:20 Lingfield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Malinas Island has won here over hurdles and he could be interesting making his chasing debut, but he has been off since March 2022 and a market watch may be a good guide to his chances now. SAFE DESTINATION showed improved form when winning fairly easily at Uttoxeter and although worse off with runner-up Kap Chidley, his jumping may see him confirm that form, though it could be considerably closer between the pair if the Tim Vaughan gelding improves for his first start of the season.

SAFE DESTINATION left his chasing debut form well behind when beating Kap Chidley by 4 lengths at Uttoxeter last month and he can confirm the placings despite a 5 lb swing. Le Tueur can make his presence felt if ready to go.

Safe Destination drew 4l clear of KAP CHIDLEY on the run-in at Uttoxeter last month but the latter might turn the tables here.

13:30 Thurles Handicap Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A visor worked well on ITSALONGLONGROAD at Tramore three weeks ago and if he comes here in the same vein of form he can follow up off a 7lb higher mark. The Lawman gelding posted a convincing seven length success then, when making all, and could be hard to peg back again. Peckham Springs chased the selection home last time and on 6lb better terms he is entitled to get a bit closer now. His trainer Dermot McLoughlin also runs Look Dont Touch, who has been knocking on the door and could pick up prize-money again.

DUNDANIEL shaped better than the distance beaten suggests after 6 months after at Cork 18 days ago, let down by his jumping towards the end, and this low-mileage 8-y-o remains of interest. Itsalonglongroad ended his losing run fitted with this headgear at Tramore so is another to consider along with Name Me Famous.

13:35 Wolverhampton Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The market is likely to prove informative in this contest where all of the field are making their racecourse debuts. Representing the Karl Burke yard, ARTISTIC MISSION makes plenty of appeal on paper. A half-brother to the highly-rated First Folio, the Showcasing gelding won't be found lacking for speed. Portsmouth is likely to want a bit further than 7f in time, but he also boasts a pedigree to be competitive in a race of this nature, while Swindon and Savvy Exchange are others to note.

The betting will doubtless be informative but it would be no surprise to see ARTISTIC MISSION go well for Karl Burke and he gets the vote over Swindon and Portsmouth as things stand.

Portsmouth and Swindon are likely types but ARTISTIC MISSION is preferred for a yard which has shone with 2yos this year.

13:40 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CHURCHELLA shed her maiden tag at the tenth time of asking over C&D latest and she looks primed to continue on an upward trajectory. David O'Meara's charge has been raised 6lb in the ratings for that three-length success and this doesn't look to be out of her reach. Bay Of Naples rates as the biggest danger to the selection off the same mark as his third over 1m3f at Southwell, while Bookmark isn't without a chance.

CHURCHELLA benefited from a return to AW when scoring comfortably over C&D in September and she's well worth a chance to go in again given how unexposed she is on this surface. Bookmark and Bay of Naples look the chief dangers.

This can go to CHURCHELLA (nap) who has taken well to Tapeta and can follow up her convincing win off a 6lb lower mark last time

(2) Bowenspark 1/2, Won first 2 starts in bumpers last term and wasn't beaten far into fourth in a 20-runner Grade 2 event at Aintree when last seen in April. Doesn't appear to be entirely straightforward, but he's clearly talented and will surely go close if his jumping holds up now switched to hurdles.

(9) Realisation 10/3, Picked up for £130,000 after finishing second on sole start between the flags and she did the job well when making a winning Rules debut in a bumper at Bangor (16.7f, soft) last October. That form looks decent (second and third have both won since) and she's of strong interest now hurdling.

LTO Selection:

13:45 Stratford Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Ex-Irish recruit Macanogue opened his account at Kilbeggan in May and he merits respect on his stable debut for Dr Richard Newland. However, the six-year-old may prove vulnerable conceding 6lb to BOWENSPARK. The son of Walk In The Park finished a cracking fourth in the Grade 2 Aintree NH Flat race in April and the gelding looks the one to beat if translating that ability to hurdling. Clararose may fare best of the remaining rivals.

Bumper winners REALISATION and Bowenspark both make plenty of appeal now tackling hurdles, and while the latter is greatly respected on the strength of his effort at the Aintree Grand National meeting in April, Realisation is marginally preferred. She was pretty impressive when landing a bumper at Bangor last year and is a potentially useful recruit to this sphere. Clararose looks the pick of those with hurdles experience, given that Damarta is likely to come into his own in handicaps later on.

Hurdling newcomers Bowenspark and REALISATION showed considerable promise in bumpers and preference is for the mare.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Havaila was heading in the right direction over jumps last season and a recent spin on the Flat should put Milton Harris' charge spot on for this contest. However, seasonal debutant TOTTERDOWN boasts a good record when fresh and makes slightly more appeal. The veteran wasn't beaten far when finishing fifth at Newbury in March and his rider's 7lb allowance puts him on an attractive mark. Yorksea and Go Dante are others to note at the top of the handicap.

YORKSEA has a good record at around this trip over hurdles and, having shaped well on the level at Goodwood 18 days ago, he makes plenty of appeal. Branson Missouri is respected back in handicap company on her seasonal return, while Go Dante may have benefited from a breathing operation and is still relatively unexposed.

There is more to come from HAVAILA (nap), who was placed in a hot juvenile handicap at Ascot in April and is only 2lb higher here.

MOLLYS MANGO was well beaten when last seen at Leopardstown in February but that did come in a hot Grade 2 mares bumper won by Fun Fun Fun. The Clovis Du Berlais mare had been third in Listed company prior to that, having also won at Cork previously, and is a smart prospect for jumping this term. This looks like a nice starting point. Missus Beeton already has solid placed form over timber, having been third at Listowel, and could be the one to give the selection most to do. Idol, a bumper winner for Willie Mullins last year before switching to Sam Curling, was fourth in a strong maiden hurdle, won by Fascile Mode, at Punchestown last month and could get closer now in against her own sex.

MOLLYS MANGO showed fairly useful winning form in bumpers and now she has her sights lowered can make a winning start in this sphere for her top yard. Sidiriya could emerge as the chief threat if, as expected, building on her Kilbeggan fourth. Missus Beeton also has the form to have a say.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go the way of ENGINEER, who must hold every chance if building on a strong placed effort on his debut at Kempton in September. A couple from that contest have run well since, and Clive Cox's charge may have too much for C&D runner-up Monfrid, as well as South Shore, who is very interesting on his first start for the Karl Burke yard.

ENGINEER produced a promising first effort when third at Kempton 6 weeks ago, just lacking experience at a crucial stage, and is preferred to Monfrid, who also made an encouraging start over this C&D. South Shore is a big threat if reproducing the form of his debut run for another yard.

There was lots to like about the debut third of ENGINEER at Kempton in September and he can emerge on top. Monfrid is feared most.

14:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

An open contest and a chance is taken on PYSANKA, who had excuses when he disappointed over 1m4f at Wolverhampton and is taken to get back on track. Mark Loughnane's runner was successful on his penultimate start and can resume his progress. Trailblazer is likely to be finishing strongly at the line after he ran on pluckily over C&D last time, while Graces Quest is also worthy of a mention.

It's easy enough to make cases both for and against the majority of these. GRACES QUEST could be the answer having returned to form when runner-up over 9f at Musselburgh in a slightly stronger handicap than this recently and she shouldn't be inconvenienced by moving back up in trip. Super Stars and Trailblazer are both entering 'longstanding maiden' territory, but are feared most nonetheless off appealing marks, while an on-song Liberated Lad would be a danger to all.

14:20 Stratford Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Bitsnbuckles only sets a modest standard on on his mid-division finish at Ludlow last Thursday and the five-year-old may prove more competitive once entering handicaps. With that in mind, it might pay to take a chance on the Dan Skelton-trained HAVOCK. The selection offered something to work with when fourth at Warwick on New Year's Eve and he may prove a different proposition on his hurdling bow. Gladys Eva Jane also enters this sphere for the first time and warrants consideration.

HAVOCK displayed a fair level of ability on the first 2 of his 3 bumper runs and starts over hurdles in a decidedly ordinary event, so he receives the vote. What A Johnny was placed on both his completed starts in points and warrants respect having joined a top outfit, while the selection's stablemate Hot Fizzy Lizzy shouldn't be overlooked, either.

This looks much weaker than the first division and perhaps WHAT A JOHNNY, who has shown ability in points, will prevail.

14:30 Lingfield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BIG BLUE MOON was thwarted in his bid to land a quick-fire double when a close-up second at Chepstow in late-March, but compensation could await the gelding now tackling fences for the first time. Tom Lacey's strapping six-year-old looks the just the sort to excel in this sphere, with the step up in distance expected to suit too. Zestful Hope has chase experience to his name and may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Hot Rod Lincoln.

SPORTING MIKE was pretty reliable over hurdles last season and, as a winning pointer, he appeals as the type to do better in this sphere, so he's worth chancing to make a successful return in an open race. Zestful Hope is a danger with a run under his belt and Big Blue Moon is another notable chasing newcomer.

The tentative selection is HOT ROD LINCOLN, who impressed on his Irish point debut in 2021 and signed off with a hurdling win in May.

14:40 Thurles Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DESTIVELLE has shown improvement on her last two hurdle starts and travelled well for Daniel King when second over C&D last month. She was nicely clear of third home Outdoor Mozzy and can go place better off just a 1lb higher mark. The winner of that Thurles handicap had previously chased home Duke Otto at Tramore and Pat Flynn's charge has to enter calculations off a 6lb higher mark after that breakthrough success which was achieved on heavy ground. Brownstone was another to gain a first win last time out when scoring on soft ground at Fairyhouse and Keith Donoghue, riding so well at the moment, now takes over in the saddle on his brother's charge.

DESTIVELLE got as close as she ever has to winning a race here a fortnight ago and granted better luck in-running, Shane Ryder's filly is fancied to open her account at the expense of Brownstone, who got off the mark at Fairyhouse last month and could well kick on now up and running. Herculaneum and last-time-out winner Duke Otto are just another couple worth considering in what looks a wide-open handicap.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DIGITAL bounced back to form with a commanding display at Kempton last week and, given the five-year-old has performed well off much higher marks in the past, this may be an ideal opportunity to get a sequence of victories going. A winner over C&D in May and at Epsom last time out, Muscika is a key player along with the unexposed Yesterday's Hero.

DIGITAL capitalised on the drop into claiming company with an authoritative display at Kempton last week and returning to a handicap from a career-low mark, Karl Burke's 5-y-o is fancied to follow up at the expense of Muscika, who won at Epsom in August and can continue his good work back from a break. Algheed and Mokaatil can do battle for minor honours.

Algheed and Absolutelyflawless are respected but this looks good for DIGITAL (nap) after his comfortable Kempton win last week.

This contest seems to revolve around the performance of FRANBERRI, who has made a pleasing start to her career to date and this looks a good opportunity to shed her maiden tag. Roger Varian's runner was well clear of the rest when bumping into two progressive rivals over 1m4f at Ripon last time. Night At Sea is feared most after a decent second over 1m4f at Catterick, while a more polished version of Scylla can be expected back on the all-weather.

FRANBERRI couldn't build on the promise of her Yarmouth debut effort when third at Ripon 33 days ago but she had underfoot conditions as a plausible excuse and it would come as no surprise to see a better showing from this very well-bred daughter of Frankel on AW debut. Night At Sea and A Gift Of Love, another well-bred pair, are others fancied to be in the mix.

(5) Samatian (6/1 +8%)
Samatian

6/1(+8%)
(5) Samatian 6/1, Off the mark over C&D on his reappearance/first run following a wind op last season. Held form well thereafter (made the frame all 5 subsequent starts) and he should have a role to play, provided he is again fully tuned-up on the back of a break.
Handles most ground and he had form figures of 132224 last season; respected on return.

Libor Lad

9/1(+25%)
(14) Libor Lad 9/1, Good second of 12 in handicap hurdle at Perth (2½m, heavy) on his reappearance last month. That effort represented a step forward and, with this slightly shorter trip a plus, he's not without each-way hope.
Back from a break with a second at Perth in September and he could be in the mix again.

Smart Casual

(11) Smart Casual 11/1, Bumper run wasn't devoid of promise and also more than hinted at ability in maiden/novice hurdles in the spring. Appeals as the type who will go on to better things in handicaps this term and he's one to keep a close eye on in the betting.
Well-bred 5yo and he needs a close look on his seasonal/handicap debut.

(10) King Otis 11/8, Landed a gamble starting out for new yard off career-low mark in 2m Plumpton novices' handicap hurdle (good to soft) 10 days ago. Obvious claims under a penalty.
Easy win at Plumpton on stable debut and he's well treated under penalty; strong claims.
(1) Henry Box Brown (12/1 +33%)
Henry Box Brown

12/1(+33%)
(1) Henry Box Brown 12/1, Improved form when opening hurdles account at Uttoxeter last December and, though largely disappointing thereafter, there were positives to glean from his reappearance at the same course last month. Each-way chance if able to build on that.
On dangerous mark and conditions are no problem but he needs to turn things around.
(2) Kenny George (14/1 +36%)
Kenny George

14/1(+36%)
(2) Kenny George 14/1, Sole hurdle win back in 2019 but, save for a poor effort at Plumpton when last seen in March, he didn't do a great deal wrong last season. Resumes on a good mark and shouldn't be far away if fully tuned-up for this.
On workable mark but sole win was four years ago and he's probably best watched on return.
(12) Boys Of Wexford (16/1 +11%)
Boys Of Wexford

16/1(+11%)
(12) Boys Of Wexford 16/1, Upped his game switched to fences last season, scoring at Uttoxeter before a string of decent efforts in defeat. No worthwhile form to his name in this sphere but will be a danger to all if able translate his improved chase form back hurdling off a potentially handy mark.
Chase winner and he needs watching in market back over hurdles on his return.

(15) She Has Notions 18/1, Showed that some ability remains when third in a 12-runner Plumpton handicap (20.5f, good) from 3 lb out of the weights. Looks capable of winning a race on that evidence, but there will be easier opportunities than this.
Respectable effort at Plumpton latest but he's hard to predict and others are preferred.

(7) Footloose Man 18/1, Yet to match his bumper form since sent hurdling, but his effort in a 16.3f novice here last time wasn't a bad one and improvement is entirely possible now upped in trip for this handicap debut.
Handicap newcomer and he looks a possible improver at this new trip; one to keep an eye on.
(13) Passing Kate (22/1 -120%)
Passing Kate

22/1(-120%)
(13) Passing Kate 22/1, No real impact in 4 starts over hurdles for Grace Harris last term, but she made a fairly positive start for this yard when fifth of 10 on her reappearance at Worcester (2m, soft) 3 weeks ago. Possibilities if able to build on that here.
Promising fifth at Worcester last month and has each-way claims if she can build on that.

Two wins at Uttoxeter in July but he was laboured there last month; equipment removed.

(4) Merry Dreamer (28/1 -100%)
Merry Dreamer

28/1(-100%)
(4) Merry Dreamer 28/1, Just fair form at best over hurdles in Ireland and offered little in 3 starts for Ben Clarke last season. Second in a point when last seen April, but he was beaten a long way by the winner that day and is opposable back under Rules on debut for new yard.
0-9 under rules and has plenty to prove back over hurdles for another new yard.
(8) Gaia Vallis (28/1 -27%)
Gaia Vallis

28/1(-27%)
(8) Gaia Vallis 28/1, Scored a couple of times in 2021/22 and placed 4 times from 7 starts last season, posting her best effort of that campaign when just touched off in a mares' handicap at Taunton in April. Still, others make more appeal for win purposes.
Two hurdle wins but latest was over 2m6f and she doesn't have a great record when fresh.
(6) Harthill (50/1 -52%)
Harthill

50/1(-52%)
(6) Harthill 50/1, Well held in bumpers and only poor form over hurdles, remote third of six in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.6f, soft) on return last month. Easy enough to look elsewhere.
0-7 and she's not finished closer than 19l to a winner; needs improvement back in trip.
(9) Mister Upton (66/1 -136%)
Mister Upton

66/1(-136%)
(9) Mister Upton 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who will need to leave the form he showed in maiden/novice company last term well behind in order to make a winning handicap debut.
Still early days and now goes handicapping but he needs major improvement.
LTO Selection:

14:55 Stratford Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

It is hard to get away from the James Owen-trained KING OTIS, who shoulders a 7lb penalty after making all on his stable bow at Plumpton recently. Conditional Jamie Gambin effectively negates that rise with his 10lb claim and the seven-year-old should take all the beating. The selection will likely encounter more arduous conditions in this contest, which may offer some hope to handicap debutant Smart Casual, while Merry Dreamer is worth noting in the market having changed stables.

There were signs that SMART CASUAL was getting the hang of things when last seen in a Wincanton maiden in April and, with improvement anticipated now pitched into a handicap, he gets the nod. King Otis looks a big threat under a penalty following his recent winning debut for this yard at Plumpton, while Samatian, who was a C&D winner on his reappearance last season, is also high on the shortlist. Kenny George and Passing Kate are live each-way candidates.

This can go to KING OTIS (nap), who easily landed a gamble on his stable debut at Plumpton and is well treated under a penalty.

LTO Selection:

15:05 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Rockstown Native arguably sets the standard of those with hurdling experience and the son of Califet shouldn't be far away if building on last month's Warwick second. Preference, however, is for the Dan Skelton-trained ILLICO DE COTTE. An easy winner of his sole point-to-point, the selection may have too much class for these rivals and can land this novice contest en route to better things. Face D'music also enters calculations.

Having shown encouragement in bumpers, ROCKSTOWN NATIVE shaped better still sent hurdling after 6 months off when runner-up at Warwick in October and can continue his progress to open his account under Rules. Illico de Cotte is feared most.

The most interesting runner is impressive Irish point winner ILLICO DE COTTE, who could have a very good future under rules.

15:15 Thurles Handicap Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A course bumper winner on soft ground last year, MITIVA is interesting here after finishing fourth at Fairyhouse last month. That creditable display came after four months off and stepping up in trip may well suit the daughter of Motivator who is closely related to useful staying chaser Mister Coffey. Costanucci has won three of her last five starts and handled testing ground when winning at Clonmel last time. She's up another 8lb for that success but is on a roll at present and may be capable of further progress. Atimetodream was a ready winner over this trip on her second handicap start at Listowel. Henry de Bromhead's five-year-old has taken a sharp rise in the ratings but is well bred and there could be more to come.

ATIMETODREAM impoved when scoring in good style at the second time of asking in handicap company at Listowel and, still unexposed, she looks capable of following up off this 9 lb higher mark. She may have most to fear from Mitiva, who wasn't knocked about when fourth at Fairyhouse and this step up in trip looks a good move. Phils Choice is third choice ahead of the hat-trick seeking Costanuci and Sea Aster.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TURNER GIRL has hit the crossbar the last twice, including over 1m4f at Southwell last time, and is well respected off the same mark. The four-year-old filly should have no problem with this step back up in distance, so she can go one better on this occasion. The main danger is Artisan Dancer, who has failed to justify favouritism on each of his last two starts but was far from disgraced at Newcastle when third. Man Of Riddles warrants a market check too.

ARTISAN DANCER has enjoyed a good spell on AW, completing a quick-fire hat-trick over further at Lingfield in September. Far from disgraced when third at Newcastle on his latest start 2 weeks ago, his mark remains a workable one and he can make his presence felt again. Buxted Reel and Turner Girl head up the dangers, whilst Surrey Belle isn't one to dismiss out of hand either.

15:25 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DRAGONBALL PRINCE may have disappointed last time out at Pontefract, but his form prior to that was very encouraging and this looks like an ideal opportunity to finally get off the mark. A progressive sort from mid-summer onwards, Tafsir may be 7lb above her last winning mark but she remains in excellent form, while Sophar Sogood is another to consider.

DANCING CLOUD arrives on the back of a lesser effort but he'd looked threatening from a higher mark before that and cheekpieces could bring out the best in him, so a chance is taken on him to bounce back. Tafsir shaped well again last time and seems likely to feature if she gets the longer trip, while Dragonball Prince can't be ruled out.

LTO Selection:

15:30 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

An open-looking contest in which recent Bangor winner Justshortofabubble has to be considered with race fitness on his side, even though a 6lb rise won't make things easier in a deeper race. For all that, it may pay to look at some of the less-exposed seasonal returnees, particularly the mud-loving PILOT SHOW, who caught the eye on his final start last season after wind surgery. Another Day Out should relish this longer trip on his handicap bow and also merits respect.

STRIKING OUT ran his best race for some time on the back of 12 weeks off when runner-up at Ludlow 7 days ago and with this longer trip entitled to hold no fears, he shades the vote to confirm the promise of that run operating from the same mark. This is competitive though, with Ballybeen, Jack Doyen and Justshortofabubble a trio of others expected to feature.

Preference is for STRIKING OUT who stayed on well to go close at Ludlow last week and is on the same mark on this step back up in trip.

15:40 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Winning pointer JOHNNYWHO confirmed himself an exciting prospect for Jonjo O'Neill when readily landing a Taunton bumper on his rules debut in March and it would be no surprise to see him make a successful start over hurdles. Fellow bumper scorer Ten Lengths Tom also warrants a second look along with Ben Pauling's French recruit Sun Joy, whilst Impact Du Bonheur is probably better than he showed on his hurdling debut at Wincanton and shouldn't be written off.

JOHNNYWHO was amongst the most exciting bumper winners in Britain last season and he's fancied to confirm himself a smart prospect by making a successful hurdles debut. Ben Pauling's French recruit Sun Joy has bags of experience at a good standard, so should prove a worthy rival for the selection, whilst Ten Lengths Tom also created a good impression in bumpers last year and is preferred for third to Paul Nicholls' Impact du Bonheur, who has to shrug off an underwhelming UK debut.

The unbeaten JOHNNYWHO has been impressive when winning an Irish point and a bumper and he could have a bright future over hurdles.

LTO Selection:

15:50 Thurles Maiden Hurdle 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SHANNON ROYALE won a bumper on heavy ground at Clonmel in April and was a short-priced favourite on hurdling debut at Fairyhouse last month. Gordon Elliott's charge was turned over by a 107-rated rival but having that run under his belt will be an asset as he steps up in trip on testing ground. Lecky Watson's fourth in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham is the standout piece of form but he was a long way below that when a beaten favourite at the Punchestown festival. He could easily outclass these rivals but may be vulnerable on seasonal and hurdling debut. Jonathan Sweeney has a small string but his runners always merit respect and Rushmount, runner-up in both point-to-point starts in the spring, could go well on rules debut.

LECKY WATSON quickly reached a useful level in bumpers, producing his best effort when finishing an unlucky fourth in the Champion Bumper at the Festival in March and he gets the nod to make it first time lucky in this sphere back from 6 months off. Shannon Royale is another useful prospect and is feared most, ahead of Secrecies of Stone.

The big two are Champion Bumper fourth Lecky Watson and SHANNON ROYALE who has the benefit of a recent run over hurdles

15:55 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

STAR OF ST LOUIS accounted for his nearest rival by just over a length in this grade last week and he is only asked to compete off 4lb higher. That keeps the six-year-old on a workable mark and he can record a double. Opticality was victorious over an extended mile here on her penultimate start and, if she can reproduce that sort of form, she could have a say. Of the remainder, Virtual Hug makes the most appeal.

STAR OF ST LOUIS took advantage of his reduced mark when scoring at this course 6 days ago and he can follow up as he makes only his third start for his current yard. He is taken to get the better of Opticality, who can bounce back having been hampered here on his latest outing, with Virtual Hug completing the shortlist.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STAINCLIFF didn't do herself any favours on her debut at Sandown when slowly into stride, but the way she finished off her race was highly encouraging and the step up in trip here should bring about some improvement. The daughter of Advertise gets the vote ahead of Lou Lou's Gift, who arrives with similar claims after a promising racecourse bow at Yarmouth. Ayurveda and Mrs Morrell look to be the pick of the newcomers.

There are some interesting unraced ones, but STAINCLIFF shaped with bags of encouragement when runner-up on her Sandown debut and could take a bit of beating with improvement on the cards. Lou Lou's Gift seems sure to improve on her opening effort when looking notably green and rates a big threat, while Mrs Morrell and Havana Ball are pick of the newcomers before market clues.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The market is likely to hold the key to this all-newcomer event and, providing the vibes aren't unduly negative about DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS - a half-sister to a bumper winner - she looks one to focus on with Nigel Twiston-Davies' string currently running well. Rockola and La Marquise also hail from yards which are capable of saddling bumper winners and have to be considered along with Love Tree, who sports an attractive Flat pedigree.

The betting will prove informative in a field confined to newcomers, but ROCKOLA is one who makes appeal on paper for a yard no stranger to success in this discipline and she could be the way to go without the benefit of market clues. Dameofthecotswolds, Love Tree and La Marquise are a trio of others worth a close look.

A field of newcomers and the market will provide clues, but LOVE TREE has a useful Flat pedigree and looks a likely type.

Testing conditions should aid the mud-loving WALK IN THE WILD who is unbeaten here in two starts. The seven-year-old proved he could be readied to win fresh when scoring on his reappearance here a year ago and he is rated just 1lb higher than when following up in comfortable fashion. Stablemate Abingworth is better than he showed on ground livelier than ideal at Fontwell on his reappearance but a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of handicap debutant Wonderweasle.

WALK IN THE WILD arrives operating just 1 lb above the mark he defied when scoring over C&D 12 months ago and, having proven his effectiveness when fresh previously, it would come as no surprise to see him make a bold bid here. Wonderweasle rates an interesting chase debutante and she's worth a look, with Templier another not out of things.

With two course wins last November, WALK IN THE WILD looks the likeliest answer to this.

A couple of these have shown a fair bit of ability but newcomer CHARLIE BUCKETT may have their measure under Patrick Mullins. The Champs Elysees gelding is out of a bumper winner who is a half-sister to useful jumper Riviera Sun. If You Let Me is a point-to-point winner and is related to bumper winners. He was too keen when sixth in a Galway festival bumper but that race has worked out well and Derek O'Connor is a significant booking. Tankardstown Lady ran well to be fourth on rules debut at Fairyhouse. She will be fitter for that outing and gets plenty of weight from the likely principals.

CHARLIE BUCKETT is bred to come into his own at further, but he's out of a bumper winner and in a yard that has an excellent record in this sphere, so makes plenty of appeal. Tankardstown Diva and If You Let Me can show the benefit of their initial outings and are feared most.

16:35 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RAINBOW RAIN is in the form of his life at present and a mere 3lb rise for his most recent success over C&D may not be enough to prevent him from landing the hat-trick. Not beaten far over C&D last time out and a former course winner, Lezardrieux looks to be a key player along with fellow C&D winner After John and Spirit In My Soul, who has won two of her last three starts.

AFTER JOHN is handicapped to win and shaped well in adverse circumstances over C&D last time, so he's worth taking a chance on. Last-time-out winner Rainbow Rain is an obvious player and Lezardrieux is another one who has slipped to an appealing mark.

Rainbow Rain is on the up but may have to give best to the well-handicapped AFTER JOHN, who looked on the way back here last time.

A winner over 5f here on his penultimate outing, ZACHARY wasn't quite able to pick up the leaders when turned out under a penalty at Newcastle six days later. Charlie Johnston's charge ought to relish a step up in trip on that evidence, though, and he gets the nod. The booking of Billy Loughnane aboard handicap debutant Alfanatical catches the eye and she is worth a market check, while Upper Hand is most appealing of the remainder.

ZACHARY fared best of those held up under a penalty at Newcastle 2 weeks ago so remains of interest. Upper Hand left previous efforts behind when runner-up on his nursery debut at Wolverhampton and is feared most ahead of Ritzy.

Zachary needs to settle up from 5f and the vote goes to TALKING RUBBISH, who's run fairly in a maiden and a novice on turf lately.

LTO Selection:

17:10 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Lady Nunthorpe failed to give her best when fifth at Beverley last time out, but that was on heavy ground and she may do a lot better on her first start on all-weather. COOL RUN was only beaten a length here over a furlong further last month and, although upped 2lb for that, she may have the edge here dropping back in trip, while Nasneen is an interesting alternative if she can get back to the level of her promising debut second.

The most appealing of these is COOL RUN, who found just one too good on her all-weather debut over 6f here in first-time cheekpieces (retained) last month and dropping back to the minimum trip shouldn't be an issue. The Craig Lidster-trained duo, Alfa Moonstone and Vitarli, are feared most in that order of preference, while Chumbaa could also have a part to play if she puts her best foot forward.

This can go to COOL RUN, who showed good pace when runner-up in first-time cheekpieces over 6f here three weeks ago on her AW debut.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Chelmsford Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bulldog Drummond sets the standard with an official rating of 70 and must be respected back in a maiden, but preference is for EDERGOLE'S GIFT. Conrad Allen's filly finished a creditable second at Brighton in September and any further improvement can see her shed the maiden tag. Karl Burke often excels in these types of contests, so Graceful Mary warrants a market check ahead of her racecourse debut.

GRACEFUL MARY appeals on paper and hails from a yard that can ready its newcomers so this Blue Point filly is taken to go in at the first time of asking from Bulldog Drummond, who holds the clear edge on form but has to shrug off a below-par showing at Lingfield. Edergole's Gift also enters calculations on the back of her good Brighton second along with debutantes Quercine and Sky Blue Dreams.

The standard set by Bulldog Drummond is not daunting and GRACEFUL MARY, a well-bred newcomer, is taken to make a winning debut.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

With a lack of recent winning form to rely on, it may be sensible to side with NELLIE FRENCH, a two-time C&D winner with the latest coming off 2lb higher. She hasn't been at her best recently with a seventh at Wolverhampton last month, but is coming down the handicap and is attractively weighted now. Linda Perratt has her horses in great form, suggesting Hard Nut could also go well, while Crypto Quest drops in class and may also get involved.

HURSTWOOD underperformed at Ripon last time, but he shaped well in a much stronger race on his penultimate start and can be given another chance dropped further in grade. Canaria Prince is better judged on his Southwell win having had a less-than-ideal trip at Wolverhampton 10 days ago, while Crypto Quest is much lower in the weights on all-weather and can also feature.

Urban Dandy is respected after a promising run last week but CANDY EYE has the potential to be a bit better than this level.

NEAPOLITAN was on target in a warm Kempton novice last time with a performance that suggested he ought to more than capable of saddling a penalty today. Wonder Smile was no match for a ready winner over C&D a fortnight ago, but Hugo Palmer's charge won't go down without a fight here. Wide Margin finished fifth in that same contest and might be able to close the gap with improvement on the cards.

LOUIS QUATORZE found a valuable sales race in France too competitive last time but can get back on track in this company. Kempton winner Neapolitan is the obvious threat under a 7 lb penalty.

Louis Quatorze can be dangerous back at 7f but there was a lot to like about NEAPOLITAN's win at Kempton and he is preferred.

18:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KELPIE GREY only won by a neck at Ayr, but he pulled hard early on and may be an even better horse when he learns to settle. Paul Mulrennan retains the ride and his supporters must see that as a positive. Explorers Way likes it here but an added 10lb seems harsh for his success last month, while Lady Manyara is noted for her in-form stable.

The vote goes to KELPIE GREY, who showed improved form to get off the mark on his second start back from a mid-season break at Ayr three weeks ago. He displayed plenty of resolution that day and a 2 lb rise doesn't look at all harsh. Mark's Choice shaped pretty well at Hamilton and is next on the list ahead of Soames Forsyte and Unsung Hero. Vince Le Prince also needs a second look, but Explorers Way is opposable up 10 lb for last month's C&D success given his patchy profile.

A tricky puzzle and preference for STAR ZINC, who had no luck here last time, is only marginal. Soames Forsyte can also go well.

18:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Turned out again quickly after a comfortable success at Lingfield last week, TOUCHWOOD is taken to follow up under a 5lb penalty. That may be at the main expense of The Spotlight Kid, who has been knocking on the door of late, and the unexposed Elusive Angel, who is expected to bounce back from an underwhelming effort at Yarmouth. King Of Ithaca has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate victory at Kempton.

TOUCHWOOD bounced back to his best when scoring comfortably at Lingfield a week ago and a penalty might not be enough to prevent him from following up. King of Ithaca was left poorly placed at Kempton so could bounce back to pose the biggest threat to the selection, with The Spotlight Kid completing the shortlist.

These conditions were ideal for TOUCHWOOD at Lingfield last week and he looks the one to beat under a penalty.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It may be a long time between drinks for GOT NO DOLLARS, but he has been knocking on the door of late and this looks like as good an opportunity as any to regain the winning thread. Stuart Williams' charge is narrowly preferred to Villalobos, who is winless since March but has been runner-up on two of his last three outings, and the capable Bletchley Storm. A return to the all-weather might aid the cause of Someone's Wish with soft ground proving to be a barrier at Yarmouth last time.

GOT NO DOLLARS has hit some form now and looks ready to end his losing run. Someone's Wish rates the main threat back on AW ahead of the in-form Adace.

Villalobos and Got No Dollars should be involved but SOMEONE'S WISH looks a good candidate for this new trip and is preferred.

More realistic opportunity now handicapping but still not easily recommended.
LTO Selection:

19:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LILKIAN bounced back to winning ways with a commanding performance at Lingfield last week and a 5lb penalty for that success may not be enough to prevent the six-year-old from going in again. A highly encouraging second in a claimer at Kempton last time out, Masterclass can give the selection the most to think about, along with Crown Dreams, who could be off a nice mark on his handicap debut.

LILKIAN is drawn better than on his last visit to this track and makes plenty of appeal under a 5 lb penalty in a contest where few arrive at the peak of their powers. Masterclass bounced back to form in a Kempton claimer last time and would rate as the biggest threat if able to back that up, with Confederation narrowly preferred to complete the placings.

Solid recent form is thin on the ground and LILKIAN is taken to follow up last week's cosy Lingfield success.

Ended time with former yard badly out of sorts; new yard quick to fit a tongue-tie.
LTO Selection:

20:00 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The in-form Suanni arrives here off the back of a narrow defeat over C&D last time and he looks primed to offer another bold bid from the front today off the same mark. Darryll Holland's charge is likely to have company at the head of affairs in the shape of Jacquelina, who wasn't beaten far despite finishing fifth over C&D last time, which could set up the race for STREET PARADE. Michael Attwater's charge would ideally prefer further but he can finish strongly off a brisk early gallop.

Little between the principals on form but JACQUELINA should be all the better for her recent C&D fifth after an absence so edges the vote from in-form C&D winner Street Parade. Universal Grace is another C&D scorer who can have a say along with the handily-weighted Mehmo.

Street Parade has been threatening but UNIVERSAL GRACE still appeals as being ahead of her mark and this may be run to suit.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BOLD RIBB looked ahead of the handicapper when scoring in ready fashion over 1m 2f at Lingfield last time and he can follow up that success. John Ryan's runner has been handed a 5lb penalty for that success, but the four-year-old won more cosily than winning distance may suggest so that burden appears lenient. Moogie rates as the biggest danger after winning over C&D last time and she isn't ruled out of defying her 4lb rise, while Boasty heads the remainder.

UDABERRI has slipped to a good mark and caught the eye when fifth at Lingfield last time out so looks the way to go in this competitive handicap. Moogie scored with a bit up her sleeve over C&D so rates a big threat despite having a 4 lb rise to overcome. In-form pair Bold Ribb and Expert Witness command plenty of respect too.

Moogie's C&D win has since been franked but BOLD RIBB (nap) won with authority at Lingfield last week and can defy a penalty.
