1st (5) Brentford Hope (11/4 -38%)
Brentford Hope

11/4(-38%)
(5) Brentford Hope 11/4, Useful Flat performer who won a maiden at Wincanton and novice at Huntingdon (both 2m) on joining this yard last spring. Only sixth when sent off favourite for the Swinton at Haydock in May but that first experience of a big-field handicap should hold him in good stead. Remains capable of better.
Beaten favourite in the Swinton when last sighted but he should be well handicapped.
2
2nd (11) Sergeant Wilson (9/2 +50%)
Sergeant Wilson

9/2(+50%)
(11) Sergeant Wilson 9/2, Free-goer who isn't the easiest of rides but he is talented if channelling his energies in the right direction. His headstrong ways proved costly again on his Southwell reappearance but the fact he went off a heavily-backed 10/11 shot suggests his in-form stable were hopeful of a lot better.
Has his quirks but he's well handicapped should he bring his A game.

Made For You

150/1(-275%)
(6) Made For You 150/1, All 5 career victories over hurdles gained on right-handed tracks, the latest at Musselburgh (2½m) last December. Patchy record since, finishing a well-held sixth on the Flat when last seen in May. A watching brief is advised.
Five-time winning hurdler; stays much further but very effective at this trip.

4th (1) Whizz Kid (13/2 +7%)
Whizz Kid

13/2(+7%)
(1) Whizz Kid 13/2, Prominent racer who was successful at Doncaster in the spring and made a winning return from wind surgery at Wetherby (2m, good) last month. 5 lb higher in what looks a stronger race now.

5th
5th (10) American Gerry (33/1 -32%)
American Gerry

33/1(-32%)
(10) American Gerry 33/1, Successful twice during first half of 2022. Lightly raced since but his fourth at Fontwell in April showed he retains his ability. Not in the same form when a remote fourth at Uttoxeter the following month and absent since.
He's not fulfilled his initial promise and hasn't been at his best for a while now.
6th
6th (8) Grivetana (5/1 +17%)
Grivetana

5/1(+17%)
(8) Grivetana 5/1, Runner-up in this race on reappearance last year and also filled the same position in the Gerry Feilden here on next start. Things didn't go so well later in the campaign but has dropped to a good mark as a result and goes well fresh. Has had wind surgery.
Lost her way last season but had wind surgery and she's well handicapped.

7th (4) Oakley (40/1 -60%)
Oakley

40/1(-60%)
(4) Oakley 40/1, Off the mark for present stable at Stratford (2m, soft) in spring 2022 but seen only 4 times since, fading into a below-par seventh back at Stratford when last seen in July.
Has form off much higher marks and returned from a break in fair nick last season.
8th
8th (7) Bread And Butter (50/1 -178%)
Bread And Butter

50/1(-178%)
(7) Bread And Butter 50/1, Twenty eight runs since last win in 2020. Latest 6¼ lengths fifth of 7 to Whizz Kid at Wetherby (2m) was his best run since coming to Britain but never a threat and 2m probably a bit on short side for him.
Only momentarily threatened in Whizz Kid's race at Wetherby three weeks ago.
9th
9th (2) Castel Gandolfo (12/1 -33%)
Castel Gandolfo

12/1(-33%)
(2) Castel Gandolfo 12/1, Has had a good first half of the season, winning at Kelso (2m, good to firm) in May and good in-frame efforts in competitive handicaps lately, finishing fourth of 18 at Cheltenham 13 days ago.
Consistent 6yo; handicapped about right but brings solid each-way credentials.
10th
10th (3) Brookie (11/4 +8%)
Brookie

11/4(+8%)
(3) Brookie 11/4, Fairly useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland and better than ever when making a winning start for new trainer Anthony Honeyball in 4-runner Fontwell handicap hurdle 5 weeks ago. The second won next time so a 6 lb rise looks fair.
This is tougher than Fontwell but he won that comfortably off 6lb lower.

|PU| (9) Believe Jack (50/1 -25%)
Believe Jack

50/1(-25%)
(9) Believe Jack 50/1, Made a winning start for this stable in a novice at Hereford in November 2021 but not in the same form when fourth at Kelso 2 months later and not seen since. Can only watch unless the betting strongly hints otherwise.
Has to prove himself worthy of this mark following a long absence.
LTO Selection:

12:05 Newbury Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

WHIZZ KID returned from a 193-day break to score by over four lengths at Wetherby last month and he has only been put up 5lb in the ratings for that display. With that in mind, the seven-year-old could prove hard to stop. Brookie was a facile winner at Fontwell last time and has to be considered off a 6lb higher mark, while Sergeant Wilson could bounce back from his underwhelming effort at Southwell last time.

BROOKIE readily saw off a subsequent winner at Fontwell on his first outing for the Anthony Honeyball yard and may be able to cope with a 6 lb rise. Although Brentford Hope failed to make a significant impact in the Swinton he remains a handicap hurdler with potential and is second choice ahead of last year's runner-up Grivetana.

Last year's runner-up Grivetana is feared off a good mark but BRENTFORD HOPE (nap) might be even better handicapped.

Two wins and a narrow defeat in the spring all came at 3m+; back from seven months off.

Midnightreflection

(2) Midnightreflection 16/1, Registered a fourth career success at Doncaster (24.4f) in February and not disgraced on 2 of her 3 starts thereafter last term. Unseated rider at start on return at Chepstow 9 days ago but she's not out of things judged on pick of last season's form.

The Bomber Liston

9/2(+44%)
(6) The Bomber Liston 9/2, Fairly useful hurdler who didn't convince in trio of starts over fences earlier this year and he was again some way below his best over hurdles when fourth of 5 in handicap at Uttoxeter (23.3f) 32 days ago. Ease back down in trip may help here.
Good second in March but has seemingly lost his way.

Regal Renaissance

11/2(-10%)
(10) Regal Renaissance 11/2, Emphatically doubled her tally over C&D in April and, back from 5 months off, produced a solid comeback effort when second in 4-runner handicap here 4 weeks ago. Remains lightly raced and stable landed this race 12 months ago. Worthy of respect.
Two wins last season and second on recent return, all over C&D; more appealing than many.

(3) Toothless 17/2, Dual 2m hurdles winner early in 2023 but pulled up at Newbury final start and he finished well held once more on return/following wind op at Plumpton (15.9f) last month. This should reveal more upped significantly in trip.

Front View

4/1(+60%)
(1) Front View 4/1, Useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien in 2020/21. In touch when unseated rider 3 out in handicap hurdle at Wetherby (16f, soft) in March and he's entitled to come forward from last month's reappearance run at Chepstow. Could be worth chancing up in trip.
Ran well on yard debut in January but hasn't built on it; up in trip.

(8) Mahler Moon 33/1, Well beaten in bumpers but not without promise in novice/maiden hurdles and likely he'll come on for last month's reappearance run at Bangor/following a wind op. Tongue tie refitted for handicap debut and worth monitoring closely in the betting for clues.
Tailed off last month but may do much better now handicapping and back up in trip.

Fenney Brook

11/1(-57%)
(12) Fenney Brook 11/1, 3-time winner (twice over C&D) for Henry Daly during 2022. Below best first 3 starts this term but made it first time lucky having been picked up cheaply by new yard at Hereford (19.6f) 23 days ago, keeping on well. This rates tougher, however.
Game winner on stable debut last month; two C&D wins to her name.

State Of Bliss

Winner in Ireland but has been tailed off all four starts in Britain.
LTO Selection:

12:15 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A promising runner-up on her return here last month over shorter, REGAL RENAISSANCE is taken to go one better at a track where she won comfortably in April. A winner of two of his last three, Ramo is of interest on the drop in trip, while Fenney Brook should be able to build on a determined success at Hereford last time out. The Bomber Liston and Toothless are likely to be thereabouts as well.

A competitive opener and with that in mind it may pay to take a chance on top weight FRONT VIEW. His recent record is patchy but he ought to strip fitter for last month's reappearance run at Chepstow and he's lurking on a very dangerous mark judged on the pick of his form in Ireland. Ramo was progressing well when last seen and he's feared, along with Regal Renaissance and Call Me Tara.

Several with obvious claims but perhaps handicap newcomer MAHLER MOON can take a step forward.

Below last winning mark; check the betting, but he may need this first outing since April.
LTO Selection:

12:25 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The 5lb claim of William Maggs could certainly aid the prospects of MY BROTHER JACK, whose form over C&D reads 223 and another bold bid is expected on his return to this venue. He is preferred to previous Sedgefield winner El Jefe, who put in an improved effort at Kelso on his latest run but the loss of Conor Rabbitt's 5lb claim in this conditional jockeys' contest will not help his cause. It should be noted if For Three attracts market interest on his debut for the in-form Sam England yard as the change of stable and the application of a tongue-tie for the first time may bring about some improvement.

SAWPIT SIENNA probably needed the outing on her reappearance and, with the headgear combination she wore to good effect last season back in place, is taken to bounce back to form and take advantage of a mark only 1 lb higher than the one she defied at Taunton in January. El Jefe gained his only win over C&D and was a good second at Kelso recently so he's second choice. For Three is dangerously well treated and would also come into it if the betting vibes are strong on first run for Sam England.

12:30 Clonmel Maiden Hurdle 19f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

IRISH PANTHER, who was placed on all three bumper runs last season, may be good enough to make a winning debut over hurdles. A former point-to-point runner-up, the Edward O'Grady-trained gelding ran a big race on his rules debut at Leopardstown last Christmas before failing to justify favouritism on his next start. However, in hindsight, that Punchestown third worked out quite well. Power Hour, who holds a handicap rating of 109, sets the standard. The Ocovango gelding has acquired invaluable experience in four starts, which includes two placings. Harveys Point, runner-up on his only appearance to date, has to be of interest on his first start for trainer Colm Murphy. Any market support for the five-year-old should be noted.

IRISH PANTHER showed useful form when making the frame on all 3 starts in bumpers last term, runner-up at Punchestown when last seen in April. He's very much of interest now hurdling and shades the vote to come out on top. Newcomer Implicit makes plenty of appeal on paper starting out for her leading yard and she has to be of interest, with Farren Glory and Harveys Point another couple to note.

It looks significant that FARREN GLORY was introduced to hurdling in a Grade 2 event after a Navan bumper win. He can win a maiden now

12:40 Newbury Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Beny Nahar Road was beaten 10 lengths into second at Wincanton last month and he should have learned plenty from that first outing over obstacles. However, he could find it difficult to get anywhere near WILLMOUNT on his hurdling debut and first start for the Nicky Henderson yard. The son of Blue Bresil impressed in both bumper victories and looks to have plenty of ability, so is difficult to oppose. Any market support for Joker De Mai would also be of interest.

WILLMOUNT has created a good impression in winning all 3 starts (point on first occasion) to date and he's likely to make it four from four switched to hurdling. Beny Nahar Road is open to improvement and Joker de Mai is of interest on British debut.

The unbeaten WILLMOUNT is an exciting prospect for novice hurdles and is taken to make a winning start for Nicky Henderson.

12:50 Ludlow Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

With the notable omission of Fontwell winner Book Of Tales, this can go the way of BALBOA, who put it all together when winning at Chepstow last month. Milton Harris' charge must saddle a penalty today, but any further improvement will make him a tough nut to crack. Right Now was far from disgraced on his hurdles debut at Cork and is one to note on his first start for the Sheila Lewis team. Star Turn is a half-brother to dual hurdle winner Da Vinci Hand and he looks an interesting prospect now sent over timber.

This may develop into a fight between previous hurdle winners BOOK OF TALES and Balboa, with a narrow vote going to the former. It's possible the refitting of a headgear combination she wore to good effect on the Flat in France could see Saisissante leave her hurdle debut effort well behind so she's next on the list.

The newcomers make little appeal so BALBOA is taken to follow up his Chepstow win.

LTO Selection:

13:00 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Previous Flat winner LANGTON WOLD made a pleasing NH debut when second to It's A Love Thing over C&D 29 days ago and is selected to go one better. Patiently ridden, he made good headway to hold every chance at the last hurdle and was only beaten half a length, with subsequent winner Western Soldier a head further back in third. Both Mister Moodles and Thank You Blue have shown promise in bumpers and could prove the main threats, but they are making their hurdle debuts after absences of 265 and 317 days respectively.

It was probably a stronger race than this in which LANGTON WOLD was runner-up on hurdles debut over C&D and he is the clear pick. Professor Klump showed ability between the flags and could be the one to make a race of it with the selection, while Mister Moodles and Thank You Blue can do battle for minor honours.

13:05 Clonmel Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Although her bumper form has only been average, PAMPAR LADY has shown a great deal more on two starts over hurdles. Runner-up on her initial attempt at Listowel in September, the Gavin Cromwell-trained mare was in the process of running another good race when coming to grief two out at Thurles last time. Purse Price has plenty of experience over flights at this stage but is limited so will always be vulnerable at this level. The Passing Glance six-year-old should get her head in front at some stage but it is hard to be confident in her chances. Any Road showed enough in six bumper runs to suggest he can also win races. The Edward O'Grady-trained gelding makes his jumping debut here but is sure to have been well schooled.

THEATRE NATIVE made a promising start to her career under Rules when fourth in a listed bumper at Fairyhouse and she's taken to make a winning start over hurdles. Any Road is respected on his bumper form, while Purse Price is the clear pick on her best hurdles form.

Very unlucky not to win a point-to-point, THEATRE NATIVE ran a fine race in a Listed bumper on rules bow and can take this.

13:15 Newbury Handicap Chase (Class 3) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

NEON MOON bolted up by 12 lengths over 3m at Ludlow last month and he was put up just 6lb for that victory. Therefore, the son of No Risk At All looks the way to go once again. Scrum Diddly was sent off favourite for a warm handicap hurdle at Cartmel in May and has since switched to the Harry Derham stable, so he has to be of interest. Knowsley Road could prove a different proposition over fences and completes the shortlist.

INCH HOUSE went the right way over hurdles and there was enough encouragement in his chasing debut to think he can defy his current mark, so he gets the nod over recent Ludlow winner Neon Moon. Pull Again Green is another to consider.

Most of these should have bright futures over fences. THEATRE MAN impressed with how he went about his business in novice hurdles.

TIGHTENOURBELTS could not have won any easier here on his latest start in March, and a mark of 124 on his chase debut looks manageable. Emma Lavelle's charge gets the vote ahead of the capable Washington, who must be of interest on his first start for the Paul Nicholls yard. Runner-up on two of his last three starts, Jubilee Express is entitled to be thereabouts as well.

An interesting novices' handicap chase that could be dominated by chasing debutants, with TIGHTENOURBELTS looking the pick of them given his pointing background. Washington is one to note on debut for Paul Nicholls and Jubilee Express is considered with his stable in such good order.

LTO Selection:

13:35 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 27f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DRAGONFRUIT made the most of a falling handicap mark to register an all-the-way success on his seasonal debut at Uttoxeter. A 6lb rise plus a 2lb reduction in Toby Wynne's claim may not be enough to prevent a repeat performance. Onestepatatime was successful twice over fences at his venue last season and her reappearance in a Kelso handicap hurdle 12 days ago should have sharpened her up for this return to the larger obstacles. Two-time winning hurdler Fortcanyon cannot be written off on his chase debut despite a 197-day absence.

LIGHT FLICKER should find this less demanding than the big-field Cheltenham handicap he contested on his reappearance and is taken to get his head back in front under Brian Hughes. C&D specialist Onestepatatime should be spot on for this after a spin over hurdles last month and is second choice ahead of Uttoxeter winner Dragonfruit.

LTO Selection:

13:40 Clonmel Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

C&D winner CASTLE FIELD BOY can continue on his upward curve by adding a third career success. Patrick Foley's lightly raced seven-year-old has proved hugely consistent since finishing third in a maiden hurdle at this venue in February. Improving as he has stepped up in trip, the Scorpion gelding has more scope than any of his rivals. Angels Dawn is obviously very well treated over hurdles but may just need this reappearance run. However, depending on how forward the Sam Curling-trained mare is, she could be involved. The betting market should provide the best guide as to her chances. Whatsavailable, runner-up on both previous starts at this track, won't be far away for local trainer Mouse Morris.

WHATSAVAILABLE and Castle Field Boy filled the first two positions here last time and they might dominate this race, with the first-named marginally preferred. Stuzzikini arrives on the back of a good second in a Galway novice, so he's also likely to feature.

Impressive when beating Whatsavailable over C&D on his return last time, CASTLE FIELD BOY could be improving enough to win again.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

BREAK MY SOUL cost 290,000 pounds having won an Irish point-to-point in February and it would be no surprise to see her play a leading role on her Rules debut. The daughter of Doyen is preferred to the experienced Manimole, as well as Bella Civena, who won well first time out at Market Rasen in March. Politacus and Seeyouinmydreams cannot be ruled out either.

If the market vibes surrounding BREAK MY SOUL are upbeat, it will be an ominous sign for her rivals. Indeed, the 4-y-o was a big-money buy after winning her sole start between the flags and now embarks on a career under Rules for the Nicky Henderson yard, which has saddled the winner of this race on a couple of occasions in recent years. Bella Civena was pretty impressive on her introduction at Market Rasen and she is second choice ahead of Politacus and Seeyouinmydreams.

An interesting race. SEEYOUINMYDREAMS is a lot better than she showed in her final bumper. Break My Soul seems well regarded.

14:10 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Three-time course winner TOM CREEN is taken to enhance his fine Sedgefield record with another victory. A 6lb rise in the handicap makes his task more arduous than when winning in good style 18 days ago but with many of his opponents making their seasonal reappearance, his match-fitness could be a decisive advantage. Coolmoyne remains a maiden after 14 runs but came within a neck of getting off the mark over C&D two outings ago and rates the main danger. Morandi Second showed promise as a juvenile hurdler and has a tongue-tie fitted for the first time on his chase debut.

TOM CREEN enhanced his fine record at this track when making a winning return last month and looks capable of defying a 6 lb rise. Coolmoyne is feared most, with Brickadank best of the others.

14:15 Clonmel Conditions Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There are reasons for opposing ALLEGORIE DE VASSY but it is hoped she can return to her best. Ideally suited by testing conditions, she won two Grade 2s impressively and finished second at Cheltenham in March but disappointed subsequently at Fairyhouse and Punchestown when comfortably beaten by Instit, which now receives more weight. However, on best form, she has the beating of Instit on a line through her Cheltenham conqueror Impervious and it is also notable Paul Townend prefers her. Instit herself finished last season with a sixth-placed finish in a Listed Auteuil Hurdle, when beaten 3.25 lengths. Maskada won Cheltenham's Grand Annual Chase, has winning form on heavy and receives 10lb from the selection which gives her strong claims on ratings, despite stepping out of handicap company for the first time since a Grade 1 fourth placing in April 2022. Regina Dracones needs to improve while Hazelhatch Lady continues in her elusive black-type quest.

MASKADA signed off last season with a decisive success in the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival and she will prove hard to beat if fully tuned-up for this assignment. Paul Townend sides with Allegorie de Vassy ahead of stablemate Instit, and the Willie Mullins-trained duo are feared most.

Getting 10lb from Allegorie de Vassy, despite being rated equally, makes MASKADA the one to beat.

14:25 Newbury Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A comfortable winner at Aintree recently, EQUINUS is turned out quickly again and merits the utmost respect off the same mark. Bold Endeavour has filled second place on his last couple of starts and has to be of interest, while the progressive Hititi arrives on a four-timer. C&D winner Emitom and Our Power, who may be using this as a prep for the Coral Gold Cup next month, are also entitled to be thereabouts.

Though there's still plenty of room for EQUINUS to improve in the jumping department, he clearly has a good engine and will prove a tough nut to crack with no penalty to carry for his recent reappearance success in a conditionals' event under James Turner at Aintree. Emitom scored over C&D on debut for the Alan King yard when last seen in March and, still on a good mark up 5 lb, he could be the one to follow the selection home. Dolphin Square goes well fresh and merits respect, too.

Equinus has obvious claims but it could pay to chance OUR POWER off this lower hurdle mark and with his yard going great guns.

Hunter Legend posted his best effort to date when second at Ffos Las in May and Venetia Williams' gelding isn't taken lightly if continuing in the same heart after a 184-day absence. However, there may be some value in taking the six-year-old on with a race-fit TEN PAST MIDNIGHT. The son of Midnight Legend has recorded his best efforts over 2m this season. Famoso completes the shortlist.

HUNTER LEGEND is bred to make a chaser being a half-brother to the yard's very smart Cepage, so he can make a winning debut in this sphere despite the drop in trip probably not being ideal. Famoso shaped as if still in form at Exeter and is next best ahead of Go Fox.

SUPREMELY WEST made it 4 from 5 under Rules when landing a novice hurdle at Carlisle last time and he's firmly expected to add to his tally here. Magical Arthur looks the only feasible danger on form.

This race is a gem and returning ALLAHO might add his name to the list of illustrious winners. A dual winner of Cheltenham's Ryanair Chase and rated a whopping 177 following his April 2022 Punchestown Chase romp, a rare spleen injury resulted in him missing last season. However, it is encouraging he returns for a race which has been a target for some time and receives a 5lb 'welcoming present' from Janidil, who despite being a Grade 1 winner and suited by conditions, lacks star qualities. French Dynamite was beaten 5.75 lengths into fourth in March's Ryanair Chase before being beaten at Aintree and having failed to place in seven Grade 1s, will struggle to beat an on-song selection. Grange Walk is race-fit but faces a huge task.

A race which revolves around ALLAHO, who will be a cut above these if still anything like the force of old after his absence. His stablemate Janidil is the one likely to profit should the selection fail to deliver.

Having had such a long time off, Allaho could be vulnerable and it may be worth taking a chance on FRENCH DYNAMITE

15:00 Newbury Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Last year's winner NORTHERN BOUND returned from wind surgery with a highly creditable effort at Wetherby last month and that should have put him spot on for a repeat bid here. The nine-year-old is 9lb lower than last year and he may have too much for the unexposed Kandoo Kid and Raffle Ticket, who has won two of his last three starts. Others to note include Belargus, Galop De Chasse and Killer Clown.

NORTHERN BOUND took a step back in the right direction when third at Wetherby last month and he's potentially well handicapped if building on that having won this race last year off 9 lb higher. Kandoo Kid proved no match for a subsequent winner on chase bow/return at Warwick but should improve on that, with low-mileage 9-y-o Raffle Ticket another to consider.

The lightly raced 7yo Kandoo Kid is a tempting option but preference is for GALOP DE CHASSE in view of his reappearance record.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

CHOCCABLOC was only headed in the dying strides on his first appearance over timber at this venue a fortnight ago and compensation could await with that experience under his belt. The Doyen Chief made the perfect start to his Rules debut when landing a bumper at Hereford in April and Alan King's winning pointer can't be underestimated entering this discipline. Goonhilly may fare best of the remainder.

CHOCCABLOC pulled clear of the rest when narrowly outpointed on his recent hurdles debut at this course and, with this step up in trip likely to help unlock improvement, he will take plenty of stopping. The Doyen Chief did the job well when making a successful start under Rules in a Hereford bumper and he could have a bright future in this sphere, while Goonhilly is best of the rest.

15:20 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Special Rate made his chasing debut at Hexham in June a winning one, completing a hat-trick in the process, although Philip Kirby's gelding will need to jump with more fluency to extended his current winning streak today. With that in mind, it may be worth taking a chance on useful hurdler FILS DE ROI. The four-year-old ran with credit in fifth on his latest outing in a Listed race in France and receives a handy 9lb weight-for-age allowance on his chasing bow, which may be enough for him to land the spoils. Cerendipity warrants consideration entering this discipline too.

Having won back-to-back hurdles in May, SPECIAL RATE completed his hat-trick on chase debut at Hexham the following month and he can score again with improvement to come in this sphere. Upagainstit also made a winning start over fences and he can leave a lesser effort behind on his return, with Fils de Roi another who enters calculations.

The lightly-raced KINGS HALO's form was a little in-and-out last season but will benefit from a recent reappearance run and looks nicely treated. Well suited by testing ground and this distance, he has useful handicap chase form, steps up in distance from Killarney and is rated 6lb lower in this sphere than over hurdles. Aodhan May was pulled up at Tramore when last seen in April but likes heavy ground and is capable at this level. Go Battle ran well at Thurles last month but disappointed at that venue just last week. Mastermacblack makes his handicap chase debut and has bits of form while Everystep Oftheway debuts over fences and has some hurdles form. Barbaha Queen finished second here two runs ago while Legacy Of Dream's best form is on a sound surface. Evies Vladimir returns from a 517-day layoff.

KINGS HALO should be all the sharper for his recent spin over hurdles, so James Dullea's 8-y-o is taken to break his duck over the larger obstacles at the expense of Aodhan May, who needs to shrug off a lesser effort when last seen 6 months ago at Tramore. Mastermacblack and Barbaha Queen can do battle for third spot.

With last month's hurdles run under his belt, KINGS HALO may be able to take advantage of his lower chase mark in a weak handicap

GENTLEMAN'S RELISH disappointed on his racecourse debut over C&D in March, but reportedly found the testing ground against him and, as he's held in high regard by his powerful connections, it would be no surprise to see him set the record straight with a victory on his reappearance today. Nicky Henderson's gelding could have most to fear from a pair of interesting newcomers in the shape of Pillar Rock, who is a half-brother to some notable winners, and 32,000-euro purchase Pure Carbon.

GENTLEMAN'S RELISH failed to meet expectations in a class 2 bumper here in March but is worth another chance down in class. Pillar Rock and Laurens Bay make most appeal of the newcomers before market clues.

Nicky Henderson's GENTLEMAN'S RELISH is evidently a lot better than he showed here in March and warrants another chance.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Off the back of a good second over the extended 3m1f at Ffos Las in April, ROBYNDZONE commands a lot of respect and rates the one to beat. He could still be well handicapped off 107 and, 3-8 over fences, there is likely more to come from him over the larger obstacles. Jaytee is also respected, while Lord Sparky is interesting on his return too.

With Eceparti's participation in doubt (made to work hard when successful again at Chepstow on Wednesday), it could pay to side with his stablemate ROBYNDZONE, who was in good form when last seen in the spring and has gone well fresh in the past. A better showing is anticipated from Concetto going right-handed and with cheekpieces fitted so he heads up the dangers, ahead of Ian Williams' pair Jaytee and Tide Times.

15:55 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SOLWAY MOLLY looked set to complete a double before being collared in the dying strides at Carlisle a fortnight ago. Lisa Harrison's mare looks fairly treated racing off a 3lb higher mark in this contest and compensation could await. Handicap debutant Bridget Breeze has displayed enough ability in her qualifying runs to enter the reckoning and she isn't taken lightly, while Emily Wade may strip fitter for her third-placed return at Huntingdon last month.

BRIDGET BREEZE made an encouraging start over hurdles when third at Ayr in March and, having had an excuse on her following outing, she remains capable of better as she goes handicapping on her return. The 6-y-o is taken to get the better of Solway Molly, who can give another good account in her current form, while Emily Wade also merits consideration.

LTO Selection:

16:00 Clonmel NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FOREVERWALKING won a point-to-point in April 2022 for Pat Doyle and reappears for Willie Mullins. From the family of Sizing Europe, he was bought for E160,000 following his soft-ground point - from which the runner-up and a final-fence-faller (when lying third) subsequently won UK hurdles. He didn't run last season but will be mature and represents formidable connections. Rainbow Trail has a similar profile, having been bought for 220,000 pounds (from Donnchadh Doyle) following his pointing runner-up effort behind hurdles winner Mint Boy in December. He was withdrawn from two April bumpers due to 'unsuitable ground' and it is notable connections opt for another bumpers with his rider claiming 7lb. Workinonadream, out of a half-sister to Weapons Amnesty, ran with promise on Kilbeggan debut but faces potentially smart types on differing ground. Shesakindofmagic is a half-sister to two winners, one being a bumper winner, and Derek O'Connor is a notable booking, while John Gleeson rides The Night Agent which is related to capable types. The Story So Far is a half-brother to useful jumper Champagne Court.

This can go to a newcomer, with FOREVERWALKING chanced over Rainbow Trail and Shesakindofmagic before any betting clues. Workinonadream sets the standard on her Kilbeggan second but is probably vulnerable.

It has been a long wait for FOREVERWALKING to get to the track but this former Pat Doyle-trained point winner should be good enough

HIGHLANDS LEGACY was green when second on his racecourse debut over 2m at Ffos Las recently, but he displayed plenty of promise and can improve enough to go one better here. Point-to-point winner and 450,000-euro purchase Histrionic commands respect for the powerful combination of Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden, while Groovy Blue could also have a say on his first racecourse start.

An interesting bumper with several making appeal, including HISTRIONIC. A €450,000 purchase who tasted success on his only start between the flags, he makes plenty of appeal starting out for the Paul Nicholls yard and can make his presence felt. Of those with experience, Navajo Indy and Highlands Legacy are worthy of note. Groovy Blue and Guard The Moon also demand a market check.

Rules debutant HISTRIONIC has particularly strong credentials and is first choice ahead of I'm A Lumberjack.

GIDDYUPADINGDONG made a very pleasing start to his career when scoring over the extended 1m5f in a bumper at Huntingdon and he can follow up that success. Milton Harris' charge can put that experience to good use over many of these rivals and more improvement can be expected. Carved In Stone is feared most for trainer Hugo Palmer who has very few bumper runners, while Bobacious is noted too.

The market will no doubt be revealing with several newcomers on show, but the vote goes to GIDDYUPADINGDONG, who made a winning start at Huntingdon last month and can put that experience to good use under a penalty. Maria's Flame, Carved In Stone and Gore Point are just a trio of potential dangers making their respective debuts.

17:00 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Frost At Dawn shaped with plenty of promise when second on debut at Newcastle and it would be no surprise to see her figure once more. However, preference is for MERCURY DAY, whose defeat at Catterick last time can be put down to the heavy going. Therefore, she is better judged on her debut fourth at Newmarket, which looks the best piece of form on offer. Pitney completes the shortlist after his second at Lingfield.

PITNEY made an eye-catching debut when second at Lingfield 5 weeks ago, finishing strongly from a poor position, and is narrowly preferred to Mercury Day, who is worth another chance to confirm debut promise back on a better surface. Frost At Dawn is also considered.

Having made striking late headway on debut five weeks ago PITNEY can put that experience to good use. Mercury Day is feared most.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Queen Maker was a 240,000gns purchase as a yearling and this half-sister to the dual Group 2 winner Lusail could play a part on her debut. However, the vote goes to INVINCIBLE SPEED, who took a nice step forward from his debut effort at Bath in August to fill third place at Newcastle last month and he may have plenty more progression to come. Of the remainder, Flag Carrier makes the most appeal.

FLAG CARRIER is the percentage call on the back of a couple of placed efforts at Kempton, although a strong market move for well-bred debutante Queen Maker, who is well drawn in 1, would put a different slant on things. Invincible Speed and Mesaafi look capable of better and are best of the rest.

The vote goes to interesting newcomer QUEEN MAKER who looks potentially above average. Flag Carrier is second choice.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ZACHARY made light work of his rivals over course and distance last week, which made it two out of two here for the son of Cable Bay, and he can carry the 6lb penalty to victory. The main threat is She'sashambles, who produced the best effort of her career so far when filling the runner-up spot at Newcastle recently and she could go well off the same mark. Badosa warrants a market check on her nursery bow.

ZACHARY made it 2 wins from 2 starts at this course with a ready success over C&D a week ago and a penalty might not be enough to prevent him from scoring again. She'sashambles bumped into an improver at Newcastle on her latest outing and she could be the main danger, ahead of Amroon.

Notre Dame can do better back at 6f but ZACHARY bolted up over C&D last week and he can make it 3-3 at this track.

18:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Nouveaux showed a willing attitude when making all over course and distance last time and she could be tough to peg back once more. That said, having been raised 4lb for that half-length success, she may be susceptible to some better treated rivals like the reopposing FORGOTTEN TREASURE. William Knight's filly didn't get the rub of the green when a close fifth on that occasion and off 5lb better terms, she can reverse the form. Lady Bouquet is also noted.

NOUVEAUX improved to score over C&D last time and, with the scope for better still, she's a solid choice. Lady Bouquet, who wasn't seen to best effect at Wolverhampton, is likely to get back on track, and Forgotten Treasure isn't without hope.

Assuming her ideal tactics are readopted, LADY BOUQUET may be the answer. Tomshalfsister is second choice.

BELIEVE IN STARS won over 1m2f at Goodwood on his previous outing in September and he can follow up that success here. Sir Michael Stoute's gelding is making his handicap bow and an opening mark of 94 can be exploited. Greatgadian looks the biggest danger to the selection after running on gamely to get up close home over 1m at Newcastle but he may find life tougher up 5lb, while Mr Professor can also have a say.

With just three runs under his belt, there is almost certainly more to come from BELIEVE IN STARS, who narrowly prevailed in a Goodwood novice in September and makes his handicap debut off what looks a decent enough mark. Greatgadian returned to form when scoring over a mile here and he is second choice ahead of Storm Catcher and Mr Professor.

Believe In Stars and BASE NOTE (nap) look the pair to focus on with the Crisfords' runner bringing strong AW form into the race.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NEMORUM opened his account over course and distance recently and a 5lb rise in the ratings may not prevent the four-year-old from completing a brace. Fast Flo was second on that occasion and Christine Dunnett's filly could finish closer off the same mark. The daughter of Garswood is feared most, ahead of Crystal Dawn, who is a potential improver in first-time cheekpieces.

It's probably best not to read too much into CRYSTAL DAWN's latest effort at Wolverhampton and she could be the answer in this open-looking handicap. The 7-y-o is now 3 lb below her last winning mark and perhaps the first-time cheekpieces she sports here will help. Lupset Flossy Pop should make her presence felt, while recent C&D 1-2 Nemorum and Fast Flo are live each-way candidates.

Recent C&D scorer Nemorum has to be respected but he's taken on with SIRIUS WHITE, who looks interesting back from a layoff.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WOOLHAMPTON has been in good heart on turf of late and the daughter of Camacho makes plenty of appeal dropping in class now switched to all-weather. Almaty Star should be on the premises on his debut for Robert Cowell and the three-year-old may serve the selection with the most resistance. Skallywag Bay and Song For Whoever are also worth a second look.

WOOLHAMPTON was bang in form before getting stuck in the mud at Windsor last time so she's worth a chance to bounce back and land this open-looking contest. Last-time-out winner Skallywag Bay is a player and Song For Whoever can't be ruled out.

In-form filly WOOLHAMPTON may well take advantage of this drop back in class. Almaty Star is second choice.
