Behind Grain Of Hope in her last two hurdle runs and has work to do to turn the tables.
LTO Selection:

12:25 Fakenham Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GRAIN OF HOPE had both Limelight (fourth) and Royal Athena (fifth) behind when winning comfortably at Ludlow last month and, with Dylan Whelan's claim effectively cancelling out the penalty, she is strongly fancied to follow up. Royal Athena has run well on the Flat since that effort and is fitted with a hood today, so she may reverse the form with Stuart Edmunds' charge. French import Zooks will likely step forward from whatever she does on this occasion.

GRAIN OF HOPE had Limelight and Royal Athena behind her when scoring at Ludlow last month so this looks a good chance of her to notch another win unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Ian Williams French Flat recruit Zooks.

This can go to GRAIN OF HOPE, who had two of today's rivals behind her when justifying support at Ludlow last month.

12:35 Carlisle Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There were plenty of positives to be gleaned from TO CHASE A DREAM's runner-up effort on his hurdles debut over C&D last month, and a similar level of performance may suffice. Letthedustsettle is entitled to improve for his sixth-placed finish at Wetherby recently and Tom Lacey's charge may appreciate this drop in distance. The five-year-old is feared most, although any market support for winning pointer Wild Grouse or dual bumper scorer Bertie's Ballet would be interesting.

TO CHASE A DREAM gets the nod to build on his promising hurdle debut second here last month. Last season's dual bumper winner Bertie's Ballet rates an obvious danger now hurdling on his return, while Irish point recruit Wild Grouse would also enter the reckoning should the betting suggest he's fancied on his debut for Donald McCain.

The useful bumper performer BERTIE'S BALLET is taken to make a winning debut over hurdles by beating point winner Letthedustsettle.

12:45 Kempton Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Now in the care of the in-form Harry Derham stable, QUEENS GAMBLE is a talented mare to be going to war with this season, and the fact she got hurdles experience when scoring comfortably at Warwick in May is another plus. The five-year-old can follow up at the main expense of impressive Wincanton scorer Classic King, as well as Bhaloo, who has switched to Nicky Henderson since taking a Market Rasen bumper in April. Bobby's Fortune and newcomer Selwan cannot be ruled out either.

QUEENS GAMBLE overcame some indifferent jumping to get off the mark at Warwick in May and this useful bumper scorer is fancied to build on that and go in again at the chief expense of Nicky Henderson's newcomer Bhaloo. Wincanton-scorer Classic King can also have a say along with Dan Skelton's newcomer Huckleberry Sting.

Preference is for CLASSIC KING, who created a pretty good impression on last month's hurdling debut at Wincanton.

Trusty Scout

(6) Trusty Scout 22/1, Well held all 3 outings in this sphere back in late-2021 but arrives in good order from the Flat, making it a fourth in-frame finish on the spin at Chelmsford last month. Tough to know what to expect back hurdling, so percentage call is to look elsewhere.

(5) Good Time Ahead 22/1, Looked better than ever when easily winning a 12-runner handicap hurdle at Lingfield (2m) in February. Reported to have made a noise when last seen over timber and not been in much form on the Flat since (looked rusty at Kempton last month). Headgear discarded.
Out of sorts under both codes in his last five runs and has some questions to answer.
LTO Selection:

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A chance is taken on KING OTIS, who was bitterly disappointing when sent off a short-priced favourite at Stratford 11 days ago but fairly bolted up at Plumpton on his penultimate outing. He possibly just got stuck in the mud last time and forecast better ground this afternoon should be a big help. Pure Bubbles makes his handicap debut off a mark of 97 and warrants respect, while Trusty Scout completes the shortlist following a string of decent efforts on the Flat.

He's not been seen over hurdles since late-2020 but SOMEKINDOFSTAR has been given a serious chance by the handicapper, and making his first start for a new yard, Matt Crawley's veteran earns the tentative vote in a open-looking handicap. King Otis seemingly hated the ground at Stratford recently, so he's fancied to get back on track here, with Sailed Away and Pure Bubbles another couple to consider making their handicap debuts.

The vote goes to KING OTIS (nap), who had an excuse at Stratford and still looks feasibly treated on his emphatic win at Plumpton.

13:05 Carlisle Conditions Chase (Class 2) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Sail Away looked better than ever when making all over 3m at Ayr in April. However, the drop in trip to 2m is an obvious concern and Dan Skelton's charge may have his work cut out in conceding 3lb to Betfair Hurdle winner AUCUNRISQUE. The son of No Risk At All has some smart chase form in the book over this distance and makes most appeal. Last month's C&D victor Nells Son shouldn't be far away either.

A tricky contest to unravel despite the small field but AUCUNRISQUE gets the verdict to double his tally over the larger obstacles having shaped as if just in need of the run on return over timber at Fontwell last month. The main danger may emerge from Nells Son, who made a winning reappearance over C&D recently and should have even more to offer in this sphere. Sail Away can fill out third spot.

The versatile AUCUNRISQUE (nap) has his ideal conditions and is taken to beat the recent C&D winner Nells Son.

13:15 Kempton Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An impressive winner at Exeter last time out when seeing off the reopposing Sherborne (second) by nine lengths, STROLL ON BY may only improve for going back up in trip and he should be able to manage a 9lb rise. Not beaten far on his latest start over hurdles here in May, Invincible Nao is of interest on his chasing debut, while similar comments apply to Touchy Feely and Richhill for strong connections.

STROLL ON BY surpassed his hurdling exploits on just his second start in this sphere when scoring at Exeter recently and with even more to offer Charlie Longsdon's 6-y-o is fancied to follow up at the expense of Richhill, who ticks plenty of boxes making his chase/handicap debut for a top yard. Earth King, Touchy Feely and Invincible Nao are just a handful of others worthy of respect sent over the larger obstacles for the first time, too.

(3) Scene One 6/4, Ran to a fair level over hurdles, making all in maiden at Warwick (19f) when last seen in April. Appeals as the type to make a chaser so could do better still as he goes handicapping over fences. Leading contender.
Ended last season with a hurdle win and he should have a future over fences; respected.

(5) Unspeakable 7/2, Little impact on first 4 starts over hurdles but, in first-time tongue tie, left those efforts behind when winning handicap at Taunton (23.9f) in March. Not in the same form both outings since, though possibly needed the run last month. Makes chase debut.
Has been hard to predict so far and he has something to prove on this switch to fences.

(4) Ben Buie 7/2, Three-time winner in 2022/23 and returned to form when scoring at Warwick in September. At least as good as ever when following up at Hereford (20.9f) last month, so he's capable of going well again in his current mood.
Hat-trick seeker and he's a big player again if ground is on the fast side.

(1) Flamelco 10/1, Winning hurdler in France but hasn't offered much in a trio of handicaps for his current trainer, failing to beat a rival at Fontwell on his most recent start. Others more persuasive as he goes chasing after 6 months off.

(2) Icaque De L'Isle 13/2, Chase winner in France and ran to a similar level on second outing for current yard when runner-up in handicap at Huntingdon (19.7f) on Boxing Day. Lesser effort at Stratford (22.6f) in March, but could get back on track returned to this shorter trip on his return.

His wins have been at much shorter trips and he looks opposable on return for new yard.
LTO Selection:

13:30 Fakenham Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Hat-trick seeking Ben Buie is race-fit and clearly in good heart, but he might be worth taking on with chasing/seasonal debutant SCENE ONE. Lucy Wadham's gelding readily won a good maiden hurdle at Warwick in April (second and third both won since) and he potentially looks a fair bit better than this mark of 106. Icaque De L'isle also has a chance on his best form.

SCENE ONE opened his account over hurdles at Warwick on his final outing last season and he appeals as the type to make up into a better chaser. The 7-y-o can make a winning start over fences on his handicap debut, though Icaque de L'Isle isn't taken lightly back down in trip on his return, while Ben Buie is going through a good spell at present.

This is a tight call between the in-form Ben Buie and SCENE ONE but the vote goes to Lucy Wadham's chase debuntant.

13:40 Carlisle Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Two-time hurdle winner ALL THE GLORY has seen her rating drop after recent defeats in novice company and the Jonjo O'Neill-trained mare is fancied to capitalise on her handicap bow. Spot On Soph has been in good form in this sphere of late, although she isn't certain to prove as effective now dropping in trip, so a bigger threat may emerge from Inspiratrice, who is reverting to hurdles after a spin over fences at Worcester last month.

SPOT ON SOPH has been running well back over hurdles this season, beaten only by a progressive type at Sedgefield on her latest outing, and she can continue her good run of form to return to winning ways. All The Glory is feared most as she makes her handicap debut, while Ravenscar could fare better with her recent run behind her.

In what looks an open mares' handicap ALL THE GLORY, whose stable is in fine form, is taken to beat Inspiratrice and Ravenscar.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Kempton Novices Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An unlucky loser on his hurdles debut at Chepstow when falling at the last when in front, EL RIO made up for that with a dominant display at Ascot in April. He could be one to be excited about for the Kim Bailey yard and he is narrowly preferred to East India Express, who could not have won any easier here on his Rules debut in February. Both with C&D experience, Monks Meadow and Much Too Dear are capable of being in the shake-up also.

EL RIO built on the promise of his hurdling debut when making all at Ascot in April, possibly helped by the switch to a right-handed track, and he can score again with the step up in trip to suit. East India Express looked a useful prospect when winning his only start in bumpers and is respected, with Much Too Dear completing the shortlist.

After easily making all to beat a good yardstick at Ascot in April, EL RIO sets a useful hurdling standard.

Glory And Honour could go well after a second over 2m here last month and he will try to put his race-fitness to good use against CREBILLY. Jonjo O'Neill's six-year-old won two of his five starts over hurdles with the latest over this trip and, as he is bred to be just as effective over fences, he may be able to give weight away all round. French import Inedit Star is interesting and well worth a market check.

CREBILLY made up into a useful sort over hurdles last term and is fancied to pick up where he left off on chase debut. Inedit Star seemingly produced a much improved effort in France last time and he's very interesting if able to replicate that performance, whilst Glory And Honour has become a solid yardstick since joining Sam England and is also tricky to discount,

Preference is for the proven fitness and chasing ability of GLORY AND HONOUR, who has been in good form for his new stable.

DANNY KIRWAN appeared to be showing some of his old verve before weakening in the latter stages to finish fifth at Chepstow last month. Paul Nicholls' charge is entitled to improve for that comeback run and he makes plenty of appeal racing off top-weight in this contest. A spin over hurdles at that same meeting should have put Le Ligerien spot on for this switch to chasing and the fellow veteran isn't taken lightly, with Hatcher making most appeal of the remainder.

Not a particularly deep veterans' event. HATCHER is down a very workable mark and makes most appeal on the strength of his efforts in the summer. Le Ligerien is another player back over fences, whilst Danny Kirwan is also capable of getting involved on the pick of last season's form.

Alan King's DEYRANN DE CARJAC is used to contesting much stronger races than this and might end a long losing spell.

Crem Fresh has proved frustrating with three second places from her last four starts, but she has gone well fresh before. Eliza Dolittle might go well upped in trip after her promising Plumpton third, but preference is for BETTY'S BELLE. She weakened late on into third over three miles plus at Plumpton last month and sits close to the bottom of the weights now over a more suitable trip.

Most of these arrive with a question mark against them so it is worth siding with MISTRAL NELL to take a big step forward now under the expert tutelage of Fergal O'Brien and capitalise on a handy-looking mark. Eliza Dolittle is feared most now going handicapping up in trip, with Sinurita appealing as the pick of the remainder for place purposes.

14:50 Carlisle Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Kingston Bridge is the only course winner here having scored over this trip in March. HAVEANOTHERGOFLO is narrowly preferred, though, in the hope a wind operation will see him find some improvement and, although he remains a maiden over hurdles, he is potentially well weighted here. Boomslang is another to consider, though he needs to bounce back after pulling up at Perth in June.

A case can be made for all of these but HAVEANOTHERGOFLO begins life in handicaps on a lenient-looking mark so is fancied to get off the mark at the chief expense of Kingston Bridge, who is also weighted to have a say and should be all the sharper for his reappearance sixth here. Here Comes Georgie appeals as the pick of the rest.

5yo KINGSTON BRIDGE has the benefit of a recent run so is taken to confirm his C&D superiority in March over Haveanothergoflo.

Coral Cup winner Langer Dan arrives here off a career-high mark and the seven-year-old may be worth taking on judged on the performance of previous seasonal debuts. IRISH HILL was a progressive type during his last campaign but for losing his form in the spring. The son of Kingston Hill is only 3lb above his last winning mark and a subsequent wind procedure may be enough to see him back in the winner's enclosure. Dargiannini may have been freshened up by a break and is a viable alternative too.

A useful handicap. If IRISH HILL has derived any benefit from a wind operation during the off-season he could be the way to go. This is a bit easier than the handicaps Dargiannini was contesting in the spring and Harry Derham has his team in form so he's second choice ahead of Copper Coin, who often goes well fresh.

Michael Scudamore's COPPER COIN (nap) ran a big race in defeat over C&D in April and his good record when fresh earns him the vote.

15:10 Fakenham Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Allo Allo pulled up at Stratford, but the vet reported signs of heat stress so it might be best to put a line through that. He has won both starts here, both over hurdles, and could go well. Le Tueur is heading down the handicap to a mark he can go well off, but Plumpton winner KADEX may be the one. He won eased down by close to four lengths that day and an added 4lb may not stop him doubling up.

There was enough in THE VOLLAN's effort at Kelso last month to suggest that he could soon capitalise on the handicapper's mercy (now 14 lb below last winning mark), and the 9-y-o is taken to confirm that impression by striking here. Kadex will be a serious threat if able to at least match the form of his recent Plumpton success, while Le Tueur, whose form figures here read 211, and Allo Allo are also live contenders.

This lacks a standout contender. A chance is taken that THE VOLLAN can exploit a favourable mark after a more encouraging Kelso effort.

HELLO JUDGE looked to be value for more than the winning margin when showing a determined attitude to score narrowly over C&D last month. A 4lb rise for that success could prove lenient, and he can uphold form with Jet Legs (fourth), who has over six lengths to make up and has a better record over longer distances. A winner of his last three starts over hurdles, William Of York must be of interest too.

JET LEGS lacked the chase experience/race-fitness of the re-opposing winner Hello Judge when fourth in a 15-runner handicap on his debut over fences here, and he is taken to emerge on top this time. To his credit, Hello Judge showed a good attitude on that occasion and won't go down without a fight if in a similar mood. William of York, who progressed over hurdles during the spring, could make a bold bid from the front if his jumping passes the test now switched to fences.

Hello Judge has gone back up 4lb for his recent C&D win, which might give the edge to the reopposing fourth JET LEGS.

LA RENOMMEE appeared revitalised by a good summer on her back when winning with ease at Ludlow last month. The handicapper has reacted with a 9lb rise in the ratings for the five-year-old, but the daughter of Doctor Dino looks capable of more and gets the vote. The hat-trick seeking Petticoat Lucy is sure to prove popular and she must enter calculations, while Notnowlinda is relatively unexposed in this sphere and completes the shortlist.

There may well be more to come from PETTICOAT LUCY, who is unbeaten in two starts in this sphere and a 6 lb rise for her smooth reappearance success at Exeter almost certainly underestimates her. Notnowlinda was ultimately flattered by her proximity to the winner here last month, but the rival she chased home that day looks pretty useful. Dan Skelton's charge rates the main danger ahead of La Renommee, who looks set for another productive campaign judged on her recent performance at Ludlow.

After making up a lot of ground from the rear to finish third in a big field last month, MULBERRY HILL might be the answer.

With the Fergal O'Brien yard going well, Mistral Blue is hard to ignore, though she will need to step up on her Huntingdon effort in May. CHARMIAN'S PLACE looks the likelier winner after she came home second at Warwick and followed that with a fourth at Worcester, and she may get the better of the unraced Midnight Sting, who is well worth a market check.

CHARMIAN'S PLACE sets a fair standard and is the percentage call, although strong market support for Laura Morgan newcomer Pic The Power would put a slightly different slant on things. Mistral Blue should also be on the premises if returning to the level she showed when fifth on her debut here last spring.

The Jonjo O'Neill stable has started the season well, and HIGHLANDS LEGACY must hold every chance if building on a promising debut effort at Ffos Las when keeping on late for second. Forged Well is another to note.

Donald McCain has a strong record in bumpers here so the suggestion is his Irish point recruit IORANGI DE L'ISLE, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Last month's Ffos Las runner-up Highlands Legacy is the obvious danger.

It may pay to side with HIGHLANDS LEGACY who was a creditable second in what looked a fair bumper at Ffos Las on his debut.

16:00 Kempton Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ANGEL'S DREAM gamely won a maiden hurdle at Plumpton in May and an opening mark of 100 looks workable for Gary Moore's gelding. His stablemate Sanitiser has yet to convince with his stamina in this sphere, but it's too soon to be writing the four-year-old off given his ability on the level. Bucephalus has been in decent form on the Flat since last seen over timber and the son of Solider Hollow is also of interest.

ANGEL'S DREAM appeals as the sort his yard does well with so he's taken to return in style on his handicap debut after a stylish success at Plumpton in May. Handily-weighted Bucephalus is next on the list starting out for Neil Mulholland, although both Jack The Savage and Ace Rothstein need factoring into this open handicap too.

The pick is BUCEPHALUS, who has not raced over hurdles since 2022 but has shown fairly useful Flat form for his new stable this year.

LTO Selection:

16:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

THE PUG is dropped in trip looking for his hat-trick after two wins over 11 furlongs at Southwell, but he has been on or near the front each time and if he has the early speed to do that now, he won't be stopping at the line despite an added 5lb from the handicapper. Red Treasure steps up in trip after a length fourth at Newcastle last month and she could go well off 1lb lower assuming she gets home, alongside Operatic Artist, who sports first-time cheekpieces.

A tightly-knit handicap in which RED TREASURE edges the vote on the back of her good recent Newcastle fourth with her stamina also drawn out more here. Course-winner Prince Ali seems sure to be on the premises too along with the handily-weighted Weloof and handicap-debutant Favorite Boy.

Now qualified for mark, there should be improvement to come from FAVORITE BOY. Solid contender Prince Ali is feared most.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Light Speed showed improvement from his debut sixth when winning at Newcastle and as he ran on well over the seven furlongs there, the mile plus may see improvement. LENORMAND is a risky selection after an absence of over 14 months and has clearly had his issues, but Godolphin persevere with the son of Dubawi, who has been gelded since winning at Newmarket in a race that has worked out well. If he is ready then he may prove too good for these, with Running Star the best of the rest with any racecourse experience.

Andrew Balding's LIGHT SPEED got off the mark with something up his sleeve at Newcastle and with more progess on the cards now stepping up in distance he is fancied to come out on top again. Running Star rates a big threat though on the back of his recent second here though, while Charlie Appleby's Lenormand can't be ruled out either if fully tuned up after a long absence.

In receipt of weight from his main opponents, RUNNING STAR gets the verdict. Lenormand, despite a 15-month absence, is feared most.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Wolverhampton Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With a lack of form to work with it may pay to side with PICKWELL, third on his debut over C&D earlier this month. Slowly away that day before pulling hard, the Harry Angel gelding can only learn from that experience and that might be all he needs. Graceful Mary ran on well after failing to get a run at the furlong pole at Chelmsford and is the obvious danger, while newcomer Inner Temple looks the part on paper and is one to watch for future contests.

PICKWELL was a promising third on his C&D debut and gets the nod to build on that from a handy draw. Cerulean Summer and Graceful Mary are others who showed plenty on debut, while Inner Temple and Lunar Rocks are newcomers who would come into it if the betting vibes are strong.

The main form contenders are PICKWELL and Cerulean Summer. Lunar Rocks and Inner Temple are interesting newcomers.

18:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LYNWOOD LAD found a return to 6f to his liking when opening his account at Kempton recently and the three-year-old must hold every chance of going in again off only 1lb higher. Peachey Carnehan stayed on into second that day and the gelded son of Foxwedge is an obvious threat racing off the same rating. Second Collection was runner-up over 5f here last month and a similar performance is likely to see Tony Carroll's mare in the shake-up.

SECOND COLLECTION took a step back in the right direction when second over 5f here last time and has plenty of handicapping scope if able to build on that. Recent Kempton 1-2 Lynwood Lad and Peachey Carnehan, who goes so well here, head the many possible dangers along with unexposed 3-y-o Mc's Wag.

Several runners of interest at this level but the unexposed MC'S WAG can build on the promise of her recent Catterick second.

BERNIE THE BEAR posted a career-best performance when landing the spoils over this trip at Newcastle a fortnight ago and a 2lb nudge in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold bid from Richard Fahey's gelding. Last month's C&D second Coast was collared in the shadows of the post and the daughter of Aclaim may serve the most resistance to the selection racing off just 1lb higher, ahead of One For The Ladies.

The vote goes to COAST who was collared in the shadow of the post over C&D last time, having made what appeared at the time to be a race-winning move just over twofurlongs out. She remains on a competitive mark and the booking of Luke Morris adds to her appeal. One For The Ladies also shaped well over C&D recently and is feared most ahead of the consistent Bernie The Bear, who has gone up only 2 lb for his Newcastle success a fortnight ago.

Bernie The Bear is greatly respected but ONE FOR THE LADIES ran well in adverse circumstances here last month and is preferred.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

STARFIGHTER almost defied a 5lb rise in the ratings for a victory in September here when finishing a close-up third over the same C&D last month. The form of that contest looks the strongest on offer and Mark Loughnane's gelding may return to the winner's enclosure. Mistress Light has been in fair form on the turf of late and she rates an obvious threat if proving as effective on her all-weather debut. Savvy Brilliance is relatively unexposed in this sphere and cannot be dismissed either.

MISTRESS LIGHT made a promising start to life in handicaps when third at Windsor and can get off the mark now her stamina is drawn out more. In-form C&D scorer Starfighter is next on the list with Tiberio Force and Bookmark both weighted to have a say too.

Southwell runner-up SAVVY BRILLIANCE is taken to go one better. Mistress Light is feared most.

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Gincident arrives with a good record here after two wins from three starts, but both were over further and the latest when racing off 8lb lower in February. He can go well on his first start after being gelded, but CAPITAL GUARANTEE is preferred. He ran too badly to be true when last seen at Newmarket, but had won his previous three starts over this trip since joining David O'Meara and may be worth another chance. Johnny James is also worthy of consideration, though he will need to find more in this better company.

ALL THE KING'S MEN ran a stormer in first-time cheekpieces back from a break over C&D last month when just touched off, despite encountering traffic problems at a crucial stage of the race. He is taken to deservedly get his head back in front, perhaps at the chief expense of Gincident, who boasts a good record on the all-weather and should be in the mix if fully tuned-up following a 4-month absence. Tough Enough is third choice, with Johnny James most interesting of the remainder.

Preference is for ALL THE KING'S MEN (nap) if building on his narrow defeat in a better race over C&D 17 days ago.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

INTOXICATA has to carry a 6lb penalty after winning easily at Lingfield last time and this might be her last run in this grade. She won with enough in hand to suggest she can land her hat-trick now under Rossa Ryan, who won on her last month. Zakram was only beaten a neck off this mark at Lingfield last week and is another to take seriously, leaving Twilight Jazz and Kalama Sunrise to battle it out for third.

INTOXICATA is on an upward curve, bagging 7f handicaps in good style here and at Lingfield in recent weeks, and neither the penalty nor this step up in trip is likely to prevent her from completing the hat-trick. Though his strike rate tempers enthusiasm, Zakram has been knocking firmly on the door of late and looks set for another bold show. He is second choice ahead of Twilight Jazz and Kalama Sunrise.

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Let's Go Hugo won here last time out over C&D, but he has an extra 4lb from the handicapper now and has been beaten off similar marks in recent months. He could still get involved, but a chance is taken on DARK SIDE PRINCE. A 5f specialist, he has won seven times over the trip with two of them here, and the drop in class is a bonus. Sixcor seems best of the rest after his Newcastle third.

Having been given a chance by the handicapper, TRUSTY RUSTY could be worth siding with. The 6-y-o didn't show much in a handful of runs on turf during the summer, but she's now 5 lb below the mark off which she scored at Southwell last December and her all-weather record is a pretty compelling one (winner or placed on 11 of her 20 starts on synthetics). Let's Go Hugo is bound to be popular on the back of his C&D success and is greatly respected, while Dark Side Prince also enters calculations.

Trusty Rusty is on a lenient mark but LET'S GO HUGO was not hard pressed to beat subsequent winners here last time.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK.
