BROOMFIELD BIJOU has run well in a couple of good novice events recently and looks on a nice mark now in handicap company. She chased home a progressive horse in Jasko Des Dames at Punchestown last time and this is a nice opportunity in against her own sex. Must Be Obeyed has been knocking on the door and ran well on her return at Clonmel last month, when second to Pink In The Park. She heads the weights but should be a big player. Sainte Dona can be a free going sort and will likely take them along. She may improve a bit from her comeback run at Listowel.

SAINTE DONA looks fairly treated on her handicap debut and gets the nod in the opener. Must Be Obeyed and Broomfield Bijou rate the principal dangers.

Question marks surround many, a tentative vote going to SAINTE DONA, a winner here last season

Having scored comfortably over 3m under today's rider at Wetherby on Wednesday, EAST STREET is an obvious starting point turned out under a 7lb penalty with the drop back down to 2m4f only a slight concern. Swapping cheekpieces for a visor seemed to perk him up on that occasion and, assuming he shows the same zest, the James Owen-trained gelding could be hard to beat. The hat-trick seeking Nickelforce is feared most, although Fire Dancer enters calculations with his yard in excellent form.

NICKELFORCE is going the right way over fences and can complete his hat-trick in the opener. Recent Wetherby winner East Street has a shorter trip to contend with here but is still much respected.

With further improvement a clear possibility, NICKELFORCE gets the vote. Fire Dancer and East Street are respected.

A step up in distance proved just the tonic for course winner HORSESOMEHARRY when scoring with something in hand over 2m4f here last month. A 6lb higher mark could prove to be on the lenient side for the six-year-old and he's fancied to follow up. Half Track found only two progressive rivals too strong here last time out and he's feared most racing off a 1lb lower mark, ahead of Perculator.

HORSESOMEHARRY left his qualifying form trailing in his wake when making a winning handicap debut/reappearance fitted with cheekpieces for the first time here 3 weeks ago. He can shrug off a 6 lb rise in the weights at the chief expense of Got Your Back and Kidman.

This looks good for low-mileage 6yo HORSESOMEHARRY (nap), who scored on the other track here on last month's handicap debut.

French recruit WILLY DE HOUELLE was runner-up in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil back in April and can make a winning start now on Irish soil for Willie Mullins. The form of that Auteuil run looks strong with the winner, Nietzsche Has winning a Grade 3 subsequently and being runner-up at Grade 1 level. Coul Dreamer was impressive when winning on his hurdling debut at Punchestown 16 days ago and may prove the main danger. Space Warrior also won on his jumping bow, over course and distance last month, and is another that has to be considered.

WILLY DE HOUELLE has joined Willie Mullins since his good second in listed company at Auteuil and looks the one to beat here. Coul Dreamer made a fine start over hurdles at Punchestown last month and looks the likeliest danger.

Willie Mullins' French recruit WILLY DE HOUELLE gets the vote to see off the likes of Coul Dreamer and Messerschmitt

MORNING AIR handled heavy ground when she won over 1m2f on the Flat in France and, as a half-sister to a winner in this discipline, there is a lot to like as she gets a 7lb fillies allowance on her first start for the in-form Venetia Williams yard. Belcamo was a promising second on his hurdles debut at Fontwell last month and should also be a key player. Roi De Baviere can go well if building on a respectable hurdles bow at Newcastle.

MORNING AIR possessed her share of ability on the level in France and having transferred to a successful yard, she could well be up to the task at the first attempt over hurdles in receipt of weight from all. Belcamo's opening effort in this sphere was encouraging so he's an obvious threat, along with Mach Ten.

Ex-French MORNING AIR holds leading claims provided her Flat ability is transferred to this code. Belcamo is second choice.

Stable debutant CALDWELL POTTER capped off a fine novice hurdling campaign with a Grade 1 victory in the Future Champions Novice Hurdle at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival last year. Now under the tutelage of Paul Nicholls, he looks to have outstanding claims now tackling fences and is likely to prove a warm order. Figaroc rates as the biggest threat, with Grand Albert the pick of the remainder.

This sees the much anticipated chase debut of CALDWELL POTTER, who will start at prohibitive odds but should score with the minimum of fuss, barring mishaps. Figaroc may be the one to chase him home.

All eyes will be on Grade 1 novice hurdle winner CALDWELL POTTER, who joined his new connections for a huge sum in February.

POSITIVE THINKER was on top a stride after the line at Cork last time and a marathon trip seems to bring out the best in him. He just failed by a short-head to peg back Sphagnum in the Cork National and is now 3lb better off with that rival. Outside The Door, who was just a neck back in third then also has to be in the mix again. Favori De Champdou, a Grade 2 winner as a novice, heads the weights here and has to be respected. Carl Millar eases his burden by taking off 5lb. Jack Kennedy rides stablemate Where It All Began, winner of a national trial last season, and he's another for the shortlist.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN might have found the Irish Grand National coming too soon after his decent fourth at the Cheltenham Festival so is worth another chance on return. Klarc Kent is another who might have been over the top last time after his good fourth in the Scottish Grand National, while there wasn't much between Sphagnum, Positive Thinker and Outside The Door when 1-2-3 at Cork 4 weeks ago.

The first three from the Cork National renew rivalry. On softer ground runner-up POSITIVE THINKER can emerge on top this time

GETBAZOUTOFHERE returned from a break to register her second win over fences at Hereford last month and has to be of serious interest off just 6lb higher. There are several dangers, though, and the likes of Gazette Bourgeoise and Kit's Coty are both capable of making the selection pull out all the stops if they handle the forecast ground conditions. Chasing debutant Kosasiempre can also figure if she takes a shine to the larger obstacles at the first time of asking.

KIT'S COTY matched the pick of her hurdles form sent chasing when a close third at Ludlow on return and gets the vote off the same mark. Hat-trick seeking Getbazoutofhere and chase-debutante Kosasiempre are feared most.

On the back of a very solid effort, KIT'S COTY (nap) looks the one to side with. Gazette Bourgeoise is second pick.

LIEUTENANT MAYNE was most taking when making all on his hurdles bow at Naas last month, where his jumping proved a real asset. A 6lb penalty may not be enough to prevent the five-year-old from completing a brace and he edges the vote over Bangor runner-up Gamesters Guy. The Black Sam Bellamy gelding should relish this extended 2m3f distance and he isn't taken lightly. Penalised Hexham scorer Chasingouttheblues is noted too.

This should develop into a match between GAMESTERS GUY and Lieutenant Mayne. Both were talented enough to win a couple of bumpers and while the latter also won on hurdles debut, he must now concede 6 lb, which tilts the scales towards the former.

This looks tougher than the Naas maiden he won easily on last month's hurdling debut but LIEUTENANT MAYNE still makes strong appeal.
Class & Speed Card

ROMEO COOLIO is held in very high regard by connections and was a smart sort in bumpers last season winning at this venue and also finishing second to Jasmin De Vaux at the Cheltenham Festival. The Kayf Tara gelding easily justified cramped odds on his hurdling debut at Down Royal and riding arrangements suggest he's preferred to Bleu De Vassy who has already scored at Grade 3 level over hurdles. Willie Mullins has a numerically strong challenge and Belloccio may prove the pick of his five runners. His jumping was far from perfect when easily winning a Punchestown maiden in May and the following month he landed the 1m6f Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot.

ROMEO COOLIO did what he was entitled to when a facile winner on hurdles debut but this Champion-Bumper second is clearly a very smart prospect indeed, as his status at the head of the betting for the Supreme indicates. He can pass this test, probably at the chief expense of stablemate Bleu de Vassy, though Belloccio is open to lots of improvement in this sphere given his Flat ability.

Gordon Elliott holds a very strong hand, ROMEO COOLIO narrowly preferred to recent Grade 3 winner Bleu De Vassy
Class & Speed Card

HARA KIRI showed no ill-effects when returning from a long absence last season, improving on a C&D third to win both subsequent outings at Market Rasen and Ludlow. The handicapper put him up 2lb for the latest of those wins and it wouldn't be a surprise if the seven-year-old hasn't reached his ceiling of ability yet. Double Click showed a fair level of form earlier in the year and conditions are unlikely to be an issue, while Activist has to be respected too.

This looks a pretty warm race for the grade with HARA KIRI narrowly selected to pick up where he left off 9 months ago and complete the hat-trick with his yard continuing in good order. Kuzco rates a likely improver now handicapping and he needs monitoring in the betting for positive vibes. Double Click, for the in-form Jamie Snowden yard, and Activist complete the dangers.

Back down in distance off an attractive mark, SNAPIUS is preferred. Interesting handicap debutant Kuzco is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

An impressive winner over further on his chase debut here in October, ILLICO DE COTTE seemed to benefit from wind surgery over the summer and a 7lb rise for that success could prove lenient as he looks to go in again. The hat-trick seeking Jacks Parrot has done extremely well since joining new connections from France and he is a key player, along with Busty Boy, who has finished runner-up on his last three outings.

COME ON TEDDY starts the new campaign potentially well handicapped for his new yard so could be the answer. Illico de Cotte looked a natural when making a winning start over fences here on return and is the obvious threat, while the progressive Choosethenews should relish the step up in trip.

The 5yo JACKS PARROT is a half-brother to star stablemate Iroko and could have lots more left in the tank.
Class & Speed Card

HEART WOOD is very experienced over fences compared to a number of his rivals and sets a fair standard. The selection, who won a valuable 2m5f handicap at Leopardstown in February and also beat Corbetts Cross in decisive fashion on his reappearance at Wexford, can take advantage of his novice status being stretched out to this weekend. Firefox is the choice of Jack Kennedy from four Gordon Elliott runners and having been placed in Grade 1 novice hurdles at all the big spring Festival meetings, comfortably landed the odds on his chasing debut at Down Royal. Shecouldbeanything is on a five-timer and won't lack for experience while Gorgeous Tom won a Grade 3 in good style over this trip at Cork.

FIREFOX was smart and super reliable as a hurdler and looked a natural at the first attempt over fences, so he's preferred to Heart Wood, who has the best form over fences and more experience. Gorgeous Tom is the pick of the others in a fascinating Grade 1.

Henry de Bromhead's HEART WOOD has the merit of considerable experience and may prove too strong for Gordon Elliott's quartet
Class & Speed Card

INDEEVAR BLEU looked a potentially smart prospect when winning his bumper at Wetherby in March 2023 before not fulfilling that promise on his only run over hurdles at Ayr last November against some useful types. Returning from over a year off the track, Olly Murphy's gelding has been found the ideal opportunity to open his account over timber. Sonification is expected to step forward from his Uttoxeter run, given that was his first for almost two years, and he is respected along with Stratford bumper runner-up Scene Stealer.

INDEEVAR BLEU shaped well on hurdling debut and has the scope for a good deal of improvement based on bumper exploits, so he's a straightforward choice despite having to overcome a 13-month absence. Sonifaction is the main threat.

Indeevar Bleu warrants respect despite the lengthy absence. SONIFICATION is the other main contender on hurdles form.
Class & Speed Card

RED DIRT ROAD still looks like a handicapper with plenty of upside for connections and dropping back in trip may be a good move on his return. The seven-year-old gets the vote ahead of To Chase A Dream, who was a determined winner over C&D in October and aims to land the hat-trick on this occasion. Bertie's Ballet and Jackpot D'athou are not to be ruled out either.

Preference is for TO CHASE A DREAM, who has done little wrong in half a dozen starts over timber and remains feasibly treated. Bertie's Ballet and Red Dirt Road are feared most.

Topweight PEMBROKE is well handicapped on his chase form and could build upon his reappearance sixth in the Welsh Champion Hurdle.
Class & Speed Card

This looks a virtual match with LOSSIEMOUTH getting slight preference over Teahupoo. The Willie Mullins-trained mare was a star juvenile winning the Triumph Hurdle and also scored at Grade 1 level in Punchestown. She made a belated return last term and progressed again winning impressively on all three starts. The selection may just have a better turn off foot than Teahupoo who is bidding to complete a hat-trick in this race having beaten the odds-on Impaire Et Passe 12 months ago before going on to land the Stayers Hurdle at both Cheltenham and Punchestown. The other two runners have a bit to find on figures, but Beacon Edge comes here off the back of a Grade 2 win at Wetherby.

TEAHUPOO and Lossiemouth bring some mightily impressive form figures to the table and comfortably rate the pair to focus on, with the former narrowly selected to come out on top in his bid to land this contest for the third consecutive season. Willie Mullins' mare commands the utmost respect also, and she's very much unexposed at this trip.

A fascinating duel in prospect. Preference for TEAHUPOO is marginal in the face of the 7lb sex allowance enjoyed by Lossiemouth

LUNAR OCEAN lost little in defeat when finding only a subsequent winner too strong at Huntingdon last month and a breakthrough victory could be on the cards. A 2lb rise looks more than workable for Billy Aprahamian's gelding and he should take all the beating if coping with softer ground conditions. Libor Lad was too bad to be true when pulled up at Bangor in October and this right-handed track should see him in a better light given the six-year-old's inclination to jump that way. Market support for chase/handicap debutant Jumper Madrik would be interesting.

JAC JUMPER failed to see out the longer trip at Huntingdon 4 weeks ago so is well worth another chance back down in class. Libor Lad is worth another chance to confirm chase debut promise so is next best ahead of the quirky Lunar Ocean.

In-form maiden LUNAR OCEAN looks a particularly solid contender on recent efforts. Jac Jumper is second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Pawpaw warrants respect after regaining the winning thread at Fontwell last month. However, the seven-year-old is effectively 9lb higher in the ratings now that Caoilin Quinn has gone through his 3lb claim and chasing debutant CLOVIS BOY edges the vote. Lucinda Russell's charge capped off his novice hurdling campaign with a victory over an extended 2m7f at Newcastle and he looks just the type to relish this longer 3m2f distance. The selection's stablemate Torosay also merits consideration.

CLOVIS BOY ended last season with a career-best success over hurdles at Newcastle in the spring and, now going chasing with his yard firmly amongst the winners, he could be worth chancing to make the perfect start. Stablemate Torosay was another who ended last season on the up over fences and she's a threat. Dusautior and Pawpaw are others to consider.

A chance is taken on GIBBERWELL, who ran well for a long way on his return to action at Hexham and is on an attractive mark.
Class & Speed Card

TELECON has been lightly raced since winning over C&D on the Irish Grand National card last year and ran a cracker when reappearing at Down Royal last time. The Mark Fahey-trained gelding was very weak in the market but finished well to take third behind Kala Conti despite meeting some interference and making a mistake at the last. Volantis is also a course winner and rates a serious threat having overcome plenty of trouble in running when successful last time at the Galway Festival. So Scottish is quite versatile in terms of trip and has also been absent since narrowly denied over 2m6f at Galway this summer, while Washington overcame a lengthy absence when successful on his first start for Harry Derham at Chepstow.

Typically competitive fair in which a chance is taken on British-raider WASHINGTON. He capitalised on a much-reduced mark and justified strong support in the process at Chepstow in October and a 3 lb rise should see Harry Denham's 8-y-o competitive once more. Frankendael heads up the dangers given his positive profile, ahead of Telecon. So Scottish and Volantis complete the shortlist.

An open race and EFFERNOCK FIZZ who warmed up with a recent run on the Flat, is a speculative each-way selection.
Class & Speed Card

NEAR DARK seemed to appreciate making the running when third on her only start for Henry Daly at Uttoxeter in June and similar tactics on her handicap debut might see the eight-year-old gain a first success under Rules. Barra Blue showed ability in a couple of bumpers and has to be of interest along with recent Plumpton second Gaia Vallis.

BARRA BLUE has shown minimal promise over hurdles to date but she's up in trip for handicap debut and, based on her hurdling debut, she's potentially thrown in off a mark of 85. She's preferred to the in-form but more exposed Gaia Vallis, while Near Dark is another one to note having her first go in handicaps.

Handicap debutantes Barra Blue and Near Dark are interesting. GAIA VALLIS is far more exposed but she's respected on form.
Class & Speed Card

Bespoke Tailor has filled the runner-up berth at Perth and then Ayr and Ewan Whillans' charge is forecast to give another good account. With that being said, there are some interesting newcomers on show and STROLLING ALONG tops the bill. The son of Walk In The Park was a 115,000-pound purchase and he could land this en route to better things. Point-to-pointers Big Bert and Maximum Offers are others to note.

MAXIMUM OFFERS fetched six figures after showing plenty between the flags and his new yard should have him sufficiently forward to go well here, so he's preferred to fellow ex-pointer Big Bert, with Strolling Along also appealing on paper.

The selective approach of the Greenall/Guerriero yard in bumpers has yielded a 32% strike-rate and PECKFORTON HILLS is the pick.
Class & Speed Card

Gordon Elliott has won this race three times in the past six years, and HE CAN'T DANCE may provide the Cullentra yard with another victory. The Jukebox Jury gelding beat Meetmebythesea in a Monksgrange point-to-point and the runner-up gave that form a timely boost when scoring on his debut under Rules in a Ludlow maiden hurdle this week. The selection was snapped up by current connections for 300,000 pounds at Aintree. Unknown Entity is an obvious threat and has losses to recover after finishing fourth behind the useful Sixandahalf at the Punchestown Festival. The market may provide some clues to the relative merits of Mossy Way.

Gigginstown and Gordon Elliott have two expensive recruits from points who are likely to fight this out, with HE CAN'T DANCE taken to prevail over Koktail Brut. Unkown Entity could improve on his debut and isn't without hope.

Gigginstown Stud has some good bumper horses this season and could have another here with HE CAN'T DANCE
Ths is the racecard key.
