8/1(-45%) | (5) Blue Empress 8/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 58 here last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather. Still a maiden but has been in good form. Often placed but 0-17; should again be thereabouts, but others preferred for win purposes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (50/1 -100%)Amarachi |
50/1(-100%) | (7) Amarachi 50/1, Below form and needed the run when beaten 9 1/2l in a 6f handicap at Yarmouth last time. Effective at 6f and acts on good to firm ground; may come on for that outing. Won at Yarmouth in June, but well held on stable debut there last time; needs a resurgence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

13/2(-30%) | (6) Gundogan 13/2, A bit below his best but had excuses when beaten 3 1/4l off 59 over 6f at Southwell last time. Effective from 6f to 7f and handles a sound surface; capable of better. Partnered by one of the more experienced apprentices; yard took this last year; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (15/8 +38%)Luminous Warrior |
15/8(+38%) | (4) Luminous Warrior 15/8, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 63 at Kempton last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on all-weather; respected. Finished a close fourth at Kempton last time and the form of that race has worked out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (18/1 -300%)Groundsman |
18/1(-300%) | (2) Groundsman 18/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 60 at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start and ran to form when third last time. Effective from 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather; holding his form well. Running well lately; may again face competition for the lead, but should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (8/1 +64%)Sands Of Havana |
8/1(+64%) | (3) Sands Of Havana 8/1, Below her novice form when beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective from 5f to 7f and handles a sound surface but needs to improve. 0-7; behind two of these at Wolverhampton last time; will need to take a step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (16/1 +36%)My Boy Jack |
16/1(+36%) | (10) My Boy Jack 16/1, Below form when beaten 6l in a 6f handicap at Newcastle last time. Usually held up and suited by 6f to 7f; acts on a sound surface and is on a fair mark despite a long losing run. Notoriously hard to win with (3-77); another frame finish may be his best hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (8/1 -14%)Chloe's Courage |
8/1(-14%) | (9) Chloe's Courage 8/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 45 here last time after dropping in trip. Effective from 6f to 8f and acts on all-weather; respected on that recent effort. 2l second to Dandy Khan here last week and now 6lb better off; shouldn't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (200/1 -100%)Miraflores |
200/1(-100%) | (11) Miraflores 200/1, Again ran poorly despite the trainer being in form. Has shown no ability so far and looks up against it. Has beaten a total of two rivals in six starts; no appeal back from three months off. |

DANDY KHAN outran odds of 50/1 to finish fourth over a mile here, but punters ignored the improvement and she popped up at 40/1 over C&D last week. She appeared to have something up her sleeve and might be able to force Chloe's Courage and Blue Empress to settle for supporting roles again. Groundsman offered encouragement when making the frame on his first appearance for the Mark Loughnane team and could be the primary threat.

The vote goes to GUNDOGAN who has twice run creditably for Tony Carroll and is partnered by one of the most experienced apprentices.

1st (6) (1/9 +75%)Banyan |
1/9(+75%) | (6) Banyan 1/9, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 3 1/2l in a novice over 7f at Newmarket on only start; returning from a long layoff; looks effective at 7f and holds a strong chance in this weak race. Absent since promising debut in Newmarket contest 13 months ago; the clear form pick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 -80%)Ted Le Saux |
9/2(-80%) | (3) Ted Le Saux 9/2, Cracksman gelding; half-brother to Nate The Great, smart from 16f to 20f; dam was smart at 7f; represents a top course trainer and could be a contender in a weak maiden on debut. Half-brother to three winners; represents major stable; interesting newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (100/1 -25%)Belle Of Kt |
100/1(-25%) | (4) Belle Of Kt 100/1, Ran to a modest level when comfortably held in a novice over 8f here last time; bred for middle distances and should fare better once handicapping. Meagre RPRs in a couple of AW events. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (50/1 +24%)Marine |
50/1(+24%) | (1) Marine 50/1, Step back from fair debut when well beaten in a novice over 8f at Southwell latest; likely to want 1m2f+; more of a handicap type. Failed to beat a rival at Southwell on Friday when back from a mammoth absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (80/1 -142%)Everest |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Everest 80/1, No-show on Flat debut when comfortably held in a novice at Chelmsford last time; likely to need 1m4f or further on the Flat; the type to improve when handicapping. Maiden in bumpers and over hurdles; last of five at Chelmsford on Flat debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (25/1 -39%)Imperial Decision |
25/1(-39%) | (2) Imperial Decision 25/1, Bated Breath gelding; half-brother to Imperial Aviator, smart at 10f; dam moderate at 12f; tongue-tie fitted for debut; likely to find this demanding. Sibling to three winners; wears tongue-tie on debut; market instructive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (50/1 -52%)Shanty Baba |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Shanty Baba 50/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a maiden over 8f at Southwell only start; yet to find suitable conditions; may want more time. Folded tamely and eased once beaten in 1m maiden at Southwell. |

As Newmarket novice events go, the race BANYAN finished second in on debut probably wasn't a strong one. The daughter of Siyouni has been off for more than a year too, but it is interesting that the Gosdens are persevering with her and she is expected to relish the rise from 7f. None of the others with experience have shown more than a modicum of ability so Cracksman gelding Ted Le Saux is fancied to provide the sternest resistance. Fellow newcomer Imperial Decision is a tentative pick for third.

Newmarket runner-up BANYAN sets a clear standard on her belated reappearance. Interesting debutant Ted Le Saux is second choice.

1st (13) (7/2 +65%)Mystic Malina |
7/2(+65%) | (13) Mystic Malina 7/2, Never threatened and looked to need the run when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Cork last time. May need more time to progress over hurdles. Point winner and not disgraced in a bumper, should be sharper for a hurdles run at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (7/2 +71%)Loyal Praetorian |
7/2(+71%) | (8) Loyal Praetorian 7/2, Pulled up in an auction hurdle over 2m4f at Cork last time after a short break. Should be capable of better but still has a bit to prove. Point winner, some ability in bumpers, pulled up on hurdling debut, could do better now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

5/4(-72%) | (5) Justatan 5/4, Outpaced but shaped with promise when comfortably held on debut in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Limerick last time. Effective at 2m and acts on heavy ground. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (125/1 -213%)Kofino |
125/1(-213%) | (7) Kofino 125/1, No obvious excuse when comfortably held in an auction hurdle over 2m5f at Punchestown last time. Yet to show any real ability in points or under rules. No sign of ability, tailed off in a five-runner maiden at Punchestown last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -122%)Deebert |
40/1(-122%) | (3) Deebert 40/1, Fell in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Limerick last time when booked for midfield. Acts on heavy ground but 2m may again prove on the sharp side for him. Point winner, beaten when taking a nasty fall two out at Limerick two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (28/1 -75%)Mistyburn |
28/1(-75%) | (9) Mistyburn 28/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Limerick last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground. More expected in time, likely in handicaps. Point winner, yet to shine over hurdles, could feature in this grade if finding his form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (40/1 +0%)Kanpai |
40/1(+0%) | (6) Kanpai 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Limerick latest. Wears cheekpieces for the first time and returns from a long layoff. Effective from 2m to 2m4f but inconsistent overall. Very weak form in maidens, and failed to make any impact in two handicap runs last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (11) (22/1 +33%)Bangor Lady |
22/1(+33%) | (11) Bangor Lady 22/1, Ran to form but was well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Limerick last time. Likely to need more time to develop. Limerick seventh was a small step in the right direction, Mistyburn behind her then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (12/1 +76%)Rubi Tuesday |
12/1(+76%) | (14) Rubi Tuesday 12/1, Outpaced and never threatened when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Cork last time. Needs to show more to feature over hurdles. Not a bad run in a bumper at Listowel first time out; may improve from Cork hurdles run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (20/1 +39%)Uptaurintop |
20/1(+39%) | (10) Uptaurintop 20/1, Below debut form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Limerick last time. Showed little in bumpers or on hurdle debut and may require further than 2m. Weak bumper form, soundly beaten in two maiden hurdles runs in October, may improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (100/1 +0%)Keep The Head |
100/1(+0%) | (12) Keep The Head 100/1, Never threatened when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Fairyhouse most recently. Yet to show any worthwhile form in bumpers or over hurdles. Slight improvement noted at Fairyhouse, more needed even at this modest level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (200/1 -100%)Glin Road Boy |
200/1(-100%) | (4) Glin Road Boy 200/1, Made mistakes and never threatened when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Cork last time. Yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles and may need more time. Beaten a huge distance on both starts over hurdles, transformation needed. |

JUSTATAN gets the vote in this maiden for horses that have yet to finish in the first four under Rules. The selection won both his point-to-point starts for Mick Goff and hasn't been disgraced since switching to the track this autumn, including when fifth behind Piccolo Player in a Limerick maiden hurdle. Loyal Praetorian, Mystic Malina and Mistyburn have all won between the flags and the latter attracted the attention of the stewards when finishing in mid-division behind Port Authority in a Naas maiden. Watty Show is another to consider.

Winner of his only two point-to-point starts two seasons ago, JUSTATAN has had two runs after a long absence and looks the part here

1st (4) (11/8 +21%)Nunc Est Bibendum |
11/8(+21%) | (4) Nunc Est Bibendum 11/8, Produced her best run of 2025 when beaten 2l off 57 over 1m6f at Southwell last time. Suited by trips between 10f and 14f and acts on the all-weather. Respected after that good effort. 0-9 but ran even better than it looked when third at Southwell last time; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (8/1 -45%)Captain Robert |
8/1(-45%) | (7) Captain Robert 8/1, Down in trip and ran to form when beaten a nose off 55 over 1m6f at Southwell last time. Effective between 10f and 14f and acts on the all-weather. Raised 2lb for that close effort. 0-7 but only beaten a nose last time; open to improvement and worth another go at the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (11/4 +45%)Sapphire Sirocco |
11/4(+45%) | (9) Sapphire Sirocco 11/4, Bit wide but ran to form to get off the mark when landing a handicap by a length off 46 here last time; effective 12-16f, acts on AW; in form and could have more to offer as stayer. Made it 11th-time lucky over C&D four weeks ago; considered off just a 2lb higher mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/1 +75%)Further Measure |
10/1(+75%) | (2) Further Measure 10/1, Again below spring form when beaten 7l in a 1m6f handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective from 14f to 17f and acts on the all-weather. In poor form and looks up against it. Lost his way after five AW wins earlier in year, but now 2lb below last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (13/2 +35%)Girls Night Out |
13/2(+35%) | (5) Girls Night Out 13/2, Ran to form, seeing out the longer trip when beaten 4l off 58 over 12f at Epsom last time; effective 10-12f, acts with cut; potential improver up in trip. 0-6; sister to a winner at up to 1m6f and may still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (40/1 -233%)Corsican Caper |
40/1(-233%) | (6) Corsican Caper 40/1, Outpaced but ran to his current level when fourth, beaten 7 1/4l in a Newbury handicap last time. Trainer in form. Effective from 12f to 16f and acts on the all-weather. Consistent at this level but on a losing run. 1-23 on the AW and losing run now up to 23; others make greater appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (28/1 +30%)The Craftymaster |
28/1(+30%) | (3) The Craftymaster 28/1, Again below spring form when finishing down the field in a 12f handicap at Southwell last time. Blinkers on for the first time. Usually held up; effective up to 2m and acts on the all-weather. Badly out of form. Losing run up to 17; hopes pinned on a new headgear combination and return to Class 6. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (11/1 -38%)Smith |
11/1(-38%) | (8) Smith 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 48 here last time. Effective up to 2m1f and acts on the all-weather. Needs a bit more to figure. Seven wins over C&D, but finished behind Sapphire Sirocco here last month. |

SAPPHIRE SIROCCO showed her 25/1 C&D second was no fluke when going agonisingly close at Chelmsford, and then gained just reward for those efforts with a breakthrough success back over this track and trip. She is clearly a filly on an upward curve and can continue on that trajectory. Captain Robert came within a whisker of getting off the mark at Southwell and shouldn't remain a maiden for too much longer. Nunc Est Bibendum and Girls Night Out are interesting on the step up in distance, while Prince Quattro remains well treated compared to his hurdling mark.

The choice is PRINCE QUATTRO (nap) who has been running well on the AW lately. He shaped last time as though a return to 2m would suit.

1st (13) (8/1 +27%)Finnicky Filly |
8/1(+27%) | (13) Finnicky Filly 8/1, Never travelled and did not handle the ground when comfortably held in a 2m handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Had been in good form prior; usually held up and effective at 2m on good ground. Yet to finish in the first three, has managed creditable displays at this venue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (15) (17/2 -21%)Wild Wild Wind |
17/2(-21%) | (15) Wild Wild Wind 17/2, Ran to form on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 8¼l in a 2m2f handicap hurdle at Sligo. Effective over 2m; a maiden with only modest form so far. Ran well at long odds at Sligo in her first handicap, only a 4yo and may improve again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (11/2 -38%)Chemdawg |
11/2(-38%) | (12) Chemdawg 11/2, Ran to form in first-time blinkers when 6l third in a 2m handicap hurdle at Thurles last time. Effective from 2–3m; fair mark on flat form though this may prove a sharp enough test. Soft-ground Flat winner, 0-12 over hurdles, worth considering based on recent Thurles run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (16) (12/1 +0%)Dontdooddson |
12/1(+0%) | (16) Dontdooddson 12/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a 2m handicap hurdle at Thurles. Effective over 2m and acts on any going; not the force of old but the handicapper has relented, though remains inconsistent. Veteran showed he retains ability with Wexford win in the summer, fair Thurles run latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (33/1 -106%)Caman Rocco |
33/1(-106%) | (10) Caman Rocco 33/1, Outpaced and produced a poor effort when down the field in a 2m3f maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan. Off a short break; yet to show anything over 2m but comes from a good yard. In good hands with a talented claimer aboard, otherwise hard to find any positives. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (14/1 0%)I'm Flattered |
14/1(0%) | (2) I'm Flattered 14/1, Travelled well but failed to find much after briefly threatening, possibly not staying when well beaten in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Punchestown. Effective at 2m; drop in trip a plus but conditions are a concern. Went up 6lb for 2m Kilbeggan win in August, not at best over 2m4f at Punchestown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (14) (20/1 +20%)Fernhill Fling |
20/1(+20%) | (14) Fernhill Fling 20/1, Raced lazily and needed the run when well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Blinkers on for the first time; effective over 2m but remains an exposed maiden. Had an excuse on penultimate start, poor on latest, will need to improve in blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (50/1 -213%)Speakasyoufind |
50/1(-213%) | (3) Speakasyoufind 50/1, Still very green and looked in need of a stiffer test when well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Usually held up; effective over 2–2¼m and may benefit from a step back up in trip. Never a factor on handicap debut at Galway in October, no better at Punchestown last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (18) (13/2 -8%)Perzzini |
13/2(-8%) | (18) Perzzini 13/2, Far too free but ran to form when beaten 10l in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Sligo. Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground; appears to be running into form after a layoff. Second reserve, maiden winner in 2023, missed last year, two ordinary runs in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (9/4 +10%)No Big Deal |
9/4(+10%) | (1) No Big Deal 9/4, Scored by a head off 93 here on his penultimate start and ran to form when fourth, beaten 8l off 99 last time. Effective over 2m and acts on any going; in good form in both codes. Has been showing consistent form and is one of the more obvious candidates on that basis. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (33/1 -106%)Another Ocana |
33/1(-106%) | (9) Another Ocana 33/1, Too free and needed the run when comfortably held in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Limerick. Effective over 2–2½m and acts with cut in the ground but out of form. Has been mixing hurdling and chasing to no great effect, others have stronger claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (11/1 +8%)Bay Brook |
11/1(+8%) | (4) Bay Brook 11/1, Slipped up in a 2m handicap hurdle at Thurles last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective over 2m on yielding or good ground but has been struggling in handicaps. One promising maiden run as a juvenile hurdler; has failed to build on that, tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (28/1 +30%)Scarlet Purse |
28/1(+30%) | (6) Scarlet Purse 28/1, Ran to form but given too much to do on handicap debut when comfortably held in a 2m handicap hurdle at Limerick. Returning from a long layoff; effective over 2m but her mark demands more. Some promise when sixth on handicap debut at Limerick nearly a year ago, absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (17) (14/1 -133%)Redcliff Glen |
14/1(-133%) | (17) Redcliff Glen 14/1, Ran to form but was poorly placed to challenge when well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Thurles. Effective at 2m on good ground; well treated on old UK flat form but in modest form in both codes lately. First reserve, back below the mark at which he won last season, beaten favourite on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (11) (66/1 -100%)Invincible Oscar |
66/1(-100%) | (11) Invincible Oscar 66/1, Poor run when well beaten in a 2m3f maiden hurdle at Naas last time. Yet to show any worthwhile ability and looks one for much further down the line. Nothing in her four runs over hurdles suggests she can make a serious impact here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 +21%)Itsalonglongroad |
11/1(+21%) | (8) Itsalonglongroad 11/1, Taken on up front and did too much too soon when comfortably held in a 2m handicap chase at Tramore. Enjoys making the running; off a short break and on a dangerous mark judged on chase form. Best known as a multiple Flat and chase winner, has tended to show best form at Tramore. |

NO BIG DEAL had Finnicky Filly about four lengths behind when scoring over C&D on his penultimate start and didn't enjoy a clear passage when fourth at Thurles recently. The selection can reverse placings with Chemdawg, who was just over two lengths ahead in third. Oliver McKiernan's charge appears versatile in terms of trip having also been placed over 3m at Kilbeggan this summer. Wild Wild Wind was having her first start in a handicap when fourth at Sligo last time and has scope for further improvement, while I'm Flattered is another to consider.

Calum Hogan's 7lb is claim is an asset that could prove the key to a second win for the consistent NO BIG DEAL

15/2(+17%) | (2) Bowenspark 15/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective at around 2 1/2m and suited by good ground; inconsistent overall but well treated on best hurdle form. Lacked fluency and was pulled up on last month's seasonal/chase debut; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/4 -80%)As Legends Have It |
9/4(-80%) | (1) As Legends Have It 9/4, Ran to form when doing best of those forcing a strong pace, possibly challenged a bit early when beaten 1 1/4l off 113 over 2m5f at Cheltenham last time; consistent in that sphere; more to come over fences; the one to beat. 0-5 over hurdles but was very creditable third of 18 at Cheltenham last month; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (25/1 -39%)Planned Paradise |
25/1(-39%) | (6) Planned Paradise 25/1, Comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Cheltenham last time; ideally suited by marathon distances; consistent and on a fair mark but needs a longer trip as this looks an inadequate test. Thorough stayer; didn't fire on either appearance at Cheltenham this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (14/1 -100%)Dunstall Rambler |
14/1(-100%) | (4) Dunstall Rambler 14/1, Won by 18l off 100 over 2m1f at Worcester two starts ago; well held up in grade when sixth beaten 16l off 112 last time; best at around 2m on decent ground; hugely progressive but the handicapper may have caught up. Career-best form at Worcester in October but unable to land telling blow on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (18/1 -50%)Kayce Dutton |
18/1(-50%) | (5) Kayce Dutton 18/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m here last time; effective around 2 1/2m; was in form until latest effort. Found 3m on soft ground too taxing last month; claims if judged on 2m5f win in May. |

The Bluesman is an intriguing contender on his stable/handicap debut in a first-time tongue-tie and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the market. Kayce Dutton failed to supplement his Market Rasen victory when only fifth on his return here, and it may pay to side with AS LEGENDS HAVE IT. The six-year-old made the frame over hurdles in a warm handicap at Cheltenham and could prove even better over fences.

Placed in a big-field handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last month, AS LEGENDS HAVE IT could be hard to beat on his chasing debut.

16/1(-78%) | (11) Room Fourteen 16/1, Similar level to debut when beaten 8l in a Chelmsford novice; wide draw and likely to benefit from stepping up in trip. Out of the frame in both starts but has shown ability; handicaps over further should suit. |

9/1(-157%) | (10) Ma Leila 9/1, Promising debut when 4l fourth in a novice at Kempton; wide draw; effective at 8f, acts on AW; improvement likely. Ran well when fourth on her Kempton debut in October; good chance despite outside stall. |

33/1(-175%) | (6) Rum Diamond 33/1, Ran to debut level when beaten 6 1/4l in a Kempton maiden last time; likely to improve once moving into handicaps. Out of the frame in two 1m AW maidens; handicaps over further may be more his thing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (150/1 -127%)Crazy Plan |
150/1(-127%) | (12) Crazy Plan 150/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a 9f Wolverhampton maiden; bred for middle distances and may need more time to develop. A little ability when seventh on Wolverhampton debut in September, but may need more time. |

KNIGHT OF GLORY lost two places towards the finish when fourth on debut at Chelmsford and is likely to take a step forward from that display. With the potential for more to come, along with the booking of Rossa Ryan, he looks the way to go. Hauteluce makes appeal on paper, although the daughter of Romanised might fare better over longer trips. Hot To Hot changed hands for 20,000 euros at the breeze-ups earlier in the year and is one to watch in the betting.

A few of these have already shown ability. KNIGHT OF GLORY appears to set the standard having finished fourth on his Chelmsford debut.

16/1(-129%) | (3) Shoot First 16/1, Fell in the Stayers' Premier Handicap Hurdle over 3m at Haydock last time when beaten; effective up to 3m and acts on heavy and good ground; below par this term. Landed a nice pot at Haydock a year ago, lost way since, others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 -22%)Franciscan Rock |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Franciscan Rock 11/2, Improved when finishing 5 1/2l third in a beginners' chase at Thurles on his most recent run; much better in this discipline; major player Three-time winner, rated 143, not well treated by race conditions but rider's claim a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (12/1 +14%)Queenofthelodge |
12/1(+14%) | (5) Queenofthelodge 12/1, Improved back from a break, appreciating the stiff test when winning a handicap hurdle here over 2m4f by 5l last time; off a short break; effective 2-2 1/2m and needs decent ground. Progressive mare, has won three of her last five, a fair bit to find on the figures. |

STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT has returned in good form this season and confirmed the promise on his third at Naas when taking a Pertemps Qualifier in good style at Punchestown. Carl Millar keeps the ride and any further rain won't harm his chance. French Dynamite was a good servant for Mouse Morris winning seven times and recorded a big payday for current connections when landing the Munster National at Limerick. It will be interesting to see how he fares reverting to hurdles for the first time in over three years. Franciscan Rock won this race last year and was highly tried subsequently including when third in the Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran.

If STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT turns up in the same form as when winning at Punchestown last time he could be hard to beat

Lurks on a dangerous mark but has been very inconsistent for new stable this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (14/1 -250%)Take Centre Stage |
14/1(-250%) | (4) Take Centre Stage 14/1, A bit free but ran to form when tiring late to finish 5l third in a handicap chase at Newcastle on reappearance; effective at 2m, acts on heavy and good to soft ground; down in the weights and could build on that promising return. 28/1(+15%) | (8) Chateau Du Lys 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m6f at Fontwell latest; effective at 2m, acts on good ground; an inconsistent maiden. Remains lightly raced but has made an unconvincing start to his chasing career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (66/1 -100%)Texard |
66/1(-100%) | (5) Texard 66/1, Stopped quickly and was comfortably held in a handicap chase at Sedgefield last time; enjoys making the running; effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground; appears regressive. Back from layoff with two disappointing runs last month; revival needed. |

LIVY'S LAD made the perfect start for the Nick Gifford stable when victorious over track and trip last month and a 5lb rise might underestimate the level of that performance. This is just his second outing over fences and he looks the one to beat. We Got Your Back rarely runs a bad race and finished over three lengths clear of the third when runner-up at Hexham so he is respected, along with Take Centre Stage.

Not harshly treated by a 5lb rise for last month's C&D win, LIVY'S LAD (nap) could easily have a lot more to offer for his new stable.

6/1(+70%) | (3) Jet Packer 6/1, Pulled up in a juvenile hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time. Returns from a short break with a wide draw; effective at 7–8f on all-weather and has undergone a wind operation before this Flat run. Runner-up over C&D in August but not built on it and now 0-17 under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (10/1 +55%)Mr Fustic |
10/1(+55%) | (7) Mr Fustic 10/1, Below form when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Drawn wide; effective at 8f on all-weather but below his best lately. Five-time AW winner and 4lb lower than when scoring over C&D in February; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (20/1 -167%)Villalobos |
20/1(-167%) | (9) Villalobos 20/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 50 at Kempton last time after a short break. Effective at 8–10f on all-weather and likes fast ground; needs more from this mark. Five AW wins and 1lb below last winning mark; may not face much competition for the lead. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 +0%)Mighty Ruler |
50/1(+0%) | (2) Mighty Ruler 50/1, Showed little when tried in a visor and finished down the field in a handicap here last time. Off a short break; effective at 6f on all-weather, though stamina remains unproven. 0-10 and modest form in six starts this year; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (100/1 -25%)Invincible Storm |
100/1(-25%) | (12) Invincible Storm 100/1, Again ran to a poor level when dropped in trip and finished down the field in a 6f Bath handicap last time. Trainer in form; effective at 7–8f on all-weather but remains an exposed maiden. Just beaten on his Wolverhampton reappearance, but well held since and now 0-16. |

Chico Dulce justified favouritism at Lingfield on his latest outing, but a 4lb higher mark might open the door for VILLALOBOS. Simon Hodgson's six-year-old showed more when third in first-time blinkers at Kempton in September and goes off an unchanged mark. The reapplication of the visor might bring about the improvement required to regain the winning thread. Warrnambool isn't ruled out either.

The selection is WARRNAMBOOL who very much caught the eye when third on his stable debut here last time.

(7) (125/1 -56%)Ballyredinkingston |
125/1(-56%) | (7) Ballyredinkingston 125/1, Improved from debut when fourth beaten 51l in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f here last time. SPINNINGAYARN won a point-to-point in impressive fashion for Sean Doyle before taking a Navan bumper on his debut under Rules in January. The Order Of St George gelding ran too bad to be true subsequently on very testing ground at Naas and is an interesting recruit to hurdles. That Danny Feeling has won twice in bumpers and had Parnell Street about five lengths behind in third, with Jisco Du Brem soundly beaten in eighth, when successful at Listowel last time. Terence O'Brien's charge has also been placed twice over hurdles, while Minella Emperor is also a dual bumper winner. All three reserves are from the Willie Mullins yard and merit plenty of respect if getting a run.

The dual-bumper winner THAT DANNY FEELING has run well both previous starts over timber and he is narrowly preferred

2/1(+33%) | (5) Old Habits 2/1, Promising debut when third, beaten 19l in a maiden over 3m at Stowlin. A value selection on the balance of his form. Well held when third on Irish point debut but easy winner has looked useful under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (7/2 -115%)Typhoon Warrior |
7/2(-115%) | (8) Typhoon Warrior 7/2, Outpaced early but rallied well on a very promising debut, finishing 4 1/2l fourth in a maiden bumper at Worcester. Effective at 2m, acts on good ground, and should improve for experience for a top yard; tough to beat. Stayed on for fourth at Worcester in October and is a likely contender here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (66/1 -32%)Bluey Bay |
66/1(-32%) | (1) Bluey Bay 66/1, Outpaced and modest on debut when well beaten in a maiden bumper at Worcester on his only start. Trainer is in form. Acts on good ground but has plenty to find. About 15l behind Typhoon Warrior when fifth of eight at Worcester in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (200/1 -60%)Pretty Darn Quick |
200/1(-60%) | (6) Pretty Darn Quick 200/1, Outpaced and poor on debut when well beaten in an Amateurs' bumper at Uttoxeter on his only start. May need more time. Raced too freely and was soundly beaten when 150-1 for debut at Uttoxeter in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (250/1 -25%)Madmoiselle Moss |
250/1(-25%) | (9) Madmoiselle Moss 250/1, Green and showed nothing on debut when well beaten in an Amateurs' bumper at Uttoxeter on her only start. Has everything to prove. Well beaten when a big-priced outsider for debut at Uttoxeter. |

Typhoon Warrior stayed on to finish fourth on his debut at Worcester and may get closer, but the vote goes to THAT'LL BE OXO. The son of Blue Bresil changed hands for 42,000 euros as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to five winners, including useful bumper victor Irish Thistle. Old Habits is another who makes plenty of appeal on paper and Olly Murphy's gelding has to be of interest, especially if the market vibes are strong.

Dan Skelton's TYPHOON WARRIOR gets the nod in the hope he can build upon the promise he showed when fourth at Worcester in October.

(6) (13/8 0%)Charlie's Choice |
13/8(0%) | (6) Charlie's Choice 13/8, Made late gains and ran to form when beaten a head off 71 over 10f here last time; effective from 10-12f and acts on the all-weather; the step back up in trip may suit. Off same mark as when beaten a head over 1m2f here a week ago; has won over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 +50%)Vice President |
4/1(+50%) | (1) Vice President 4/1, Below form when well beaten in a handicap at Epsom last time; effective over 10f and should stay further; acts on good ground and remains capable of better. Something to prove on AW debut after six months off; worth a market check. |

(4) (17/2 +29%)Kimeko Glory |
17/2(+29%) | (4) Kimeko Glory 17/2, Below form on ground that was too slow when down the field in a 10f handicap at Newbury last time; suited by 10f; first attempt at this trip. Twice well beaten since latest win; stamina for this far not assured on stable debut. |

(3) (20/1 +9%)Ludo's Landing |
20/1(+9%) | (3) Ludo's Landing 20/1, Again below his summer best when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap over 11f at Kempton last time; effective from 10-12f and acts on any surface; form has dipped of late. 1-17 on AW; back off same mark as for last two wins, but he does have two ways of running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (25/1 -79%)Ocean Heights |
25/1(-79%) | (7) Ocean Heights 25/1, Travelled well but flattened out when clear and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time; returning from a break; effective from 10-12f and acts on the all-weather; usually consistent. AW form since winning on Polytrack early last year reads 98096550; others look more solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 -340%)Raintown |
33/1(-340%) | (5) Raintown 33/1, Below form when dropped in trip and beaten 7 1/4l in a 10f handicap here last time; better suited by 12f; needs to show more. A mixed bag for most of this year, but can never be left out of calulations here (6-14). |

LIKEALOT has produced some good efforts since her successful debut, filling the runner-up spot in four of her seven starts, most recently behind Solarize at Wolverhampton. The daughter of Camelot goes off the same rating and this looks a good opportunity to get her head back in front. Charlie's Choice was pipped over 1m2f here recently and won't have any problems with this step back up in trip. Vice President looks best of the rest.

This can go to LIKEALOT, who has been running consistently well since handicapping. She may still have further improvement in her.

(12) (6/1 +45%)Siul Molly Siul |
6/1(+45%) | (12) Siul Molly Siul 6/1, Outpaced and below form but did see out the trip when fourth beaten 28l in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Limerick latest. (13) (13/2 +68%)Sidiriya |
13/2(+68%) | (13) Sidiriya 13/2, Yard won this last year. Never threatened but kept on when well beaten in a 2m4f Gowran Park handicap hurdle last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m on soft ground; well handicapped on maiden form but struggling for form recently. Killarney fifth suggested this trip might suit, needs to rebound from three poor runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (15/2 +58%)Sheriffhill |
15/2(+58%) | (2) Sheriffhill 15/2, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when down the field in a 2m1f handicap chase here last time. Effective around 2m and could improve for further. Solid third here on penultimate over 2m1f, poor over fences latest, could rebound. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (9/1 +25%)Roccabaker |
9/1(+25%) | (9) Roccabaker 9/1, Made too much use of when down the field in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective around 2½m on soft ground but inconsistent since returning from a layoff. 0-7, good second on penultimate, ground possible excuse latest, could rebound. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (11/1 -57%)One Horse Army |
11/1(-57%) | (10) One Horse Army 11/1, Found the mark stiff when comfortably held in a 3m4f handicap chase at Leopardstown last time. Had been in good form prior to that run; good mark on chase form; returning from a layoff and remains a possible threat. Back-to-back 3m/3m2f chase wins in January, off 275 days, trip may be too sharp on return. |

(11) (16/1 -78%)Destivelle |
16/1(-78%) | (11) Destivelle 16/1, Won by 6l off 73 over 2m at Thurles on her penultimate start but was outpaced and never threatened when tenth beaten 16l off 82 last time. Effective at 2m on soft or good ground and has been back in form of late. Up 8lb for win on penultimate, came up short on softer ground latest, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (22/1 +33%)Ixigreczed |
22/1(+33%) | (8) Ixigreczed 22/1, Lit up by a first-time visor and raced far too freely when down the field in a 2m handicap chase at Tramore last time. Returns from a break; best ignored on that effort. 4lb below sole win, badly out of form in recent starts, needs a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (25/1 -79%)True Destiny |
25/1(-79%) | (3) True Destiny 25/1, Raced wide, needed the run and may have found the ground too soft when down the field in a 3m handicap hurdle at Down Royal. Effective from 2½m to 3m on soft or good ground but tricky to win with and ground conditions could again be a concern. 2-27 over hurdles, no win since June 2023, probably needs the track to dry out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 +0%)Lispopple |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Lispopple 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. The trainer is in form, and he returns from a long layoff; effective around 2½m with give in the ground but form had tailed off when last seen. Pulled up twice since Roscommon win, off since Dec' 2024, can only watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (25/1 -317%)Danesfort Mayfly |
25/1(-317%) | (7) Danesfort Mayfly 25/1, Hampered by loose horses but improved on recent form up in trip and on testing ground when landing a 2m5f Tramore handicap by 2½l off 80 last time. Back from a long layoff; effective at 2m5f and suited by plenty of cut; arrives in form. Won off 6lb lower when last seen in Nov' 2024, could go well if ready after layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(17) (28/1 +15%)Liberated Light |
28/1(+15%) | (17) Liberated Light 28/1, Never threatened when down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Thurles last time. Effective at 2m but yet to convince with stamina for further; handles cut and is back below his last winning mark though recent form has tailed off. Limerick winner last December, below par since return from break; reserve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (33/1 +0%)Sonny Fella |
33/1(+0%) | (14) Sonny Fella 33/1, Pulled up in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective around 2½m but out of form in handicaps. Showed little in ten starts for former yard, pulled up when last seen, best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(15) (33/1 +0%)Port Rashid |
33/1(+0%) | (15) Port Rashid 33/1, Keen and travelled well but needed the run when well beaten in a 2m Tramore handicap hurdle last time. Off a short break; effective from 2m to 2½m but inconsistent. On long losing run, should strip fitter for latest and well handicapped, not discounted. |

Darragh O'Keeffe is a notable booking for MACIVER, who bids to exploit his much lower hurdles mark. He didn't run badly when fifth on his seasonal reappearance at Limerick and will like the testing conditions on offer. One Horse Army is another on an attractive hurdle rating if he returns from a lengthy break in form. Danesfort Mayfly hasn't been seen since winning at Tramore a year ago, but has to be noted.

A tentative vote goes to SHERIFFHILL who shaped promisingly here over hurdles in October before struggling over fences back here latest

(4) (12/1 +33%)Le Fabuleux Buck's |
12/1(+33%) | (4) Le Fabuleux Buck's 12/1, Green and outclassed on debut, well beaten in a bumper at Cheltenham on sole start. Trainer in form but difficult to fancy. In rear throughout when 80-1 for good-ground Cheltenham bumper in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (16/1 +0%)Sutherland |
16/1(+0%) | (12) Sutherland 16/1, Green with mistakes but showed minor promise on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Sandown last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (40/1 -21%)Vinnie O'neil |
40/1(-21%) | (13) Vinnie O'neil 40/1, Improved when fourth, beaten 21l in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground; needs to confirm that improvement. Showed first flicker of promise on latest run; another huge step forward needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (100/1 -400%)Sugar Road |
100/1(-400%) | (11) Sugar Road 100/1, Green and needed the run on hurdle debut when fourth, beaten 30l in a novice hurdle at Ludlow last time. Showed promise over 12f on the Flat but has yet to convince with stamina over hurdles; bit to prove. Became disappointing on the Flat in spring and made a low-key stable/hurdle debut. |

(5) (150/1 -275%)Littletown Lad |
150/1(-275%) | (5) Littletown Lad 150/1, Never threatened on a modest debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground; may need more time over hurdles. Did not get competitive when 50-1 for stable/hurdle debut over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (150/1 -200%)Manhattan Valley |
150/1(-200%) | (7) Manhattan Valley 150/1, Probably needed the race and was never put into it on debut when down the field in a novice hurdle at Taunton last time. Returning from a long layoff and likely to want further in time. Irish point winner; always behind on hurdle debut in November 2024; not seen since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (150/1 -127%)Roland Garros |
150/1(-127%) | (10) Roland Garros 150/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective from 10f to 12f and acts on good ground; yet to prove stamina for hurdling. Fair on the Flat but has shown only minor promise on first two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (250/1 -400%)River Glance |
250/1(-400%) | (9) River Glance 250/1, Far too free and well beaten in a bumper at Chepstow last time. Wears a hood for the first time but hard to recommend. Showed nothing more than glimmers of promise in three bumpers; hurdle debut today. |

LOOPING D'ARC was no match for an impressive winner, but still offered encouragement with his second in a Newbury bumper last month. The four-year-old is likely to want further in time, but this appeals as a decent opportunity to get off the mark on his hurdling bow. Moyganny Phil placed in a couple of point-to-points and commands respect on his Rules debut. Big Wigg, a Huntingdon bumper winner, and Escort'kheops are others to note.

Preference is for BIG WIGG, who darted clear of the others with a subsequent bumper/hurdle winner when winning his bumper in May.

5/1(+55%) | (3) Hoornblower 5/1, Close to 2025 form when beaten 6l in an 8f handicap at Bath last time after a short break. Suited by 1m and acts on a sound surface. Showed slight improvement on that occasion. 2lb lower than for his sole success, but still has stamina to prove over this far. |

(9) (50/1 -178%)Marchetti |
50/1(-178%) | (9) Marchetti 50/1, Below form when well beaten over 12f at Kempton last time, tried in a hood and up in trip. In good form prior. Effective from 8-10f and acts on all-weather; needs to bounce back. 1-33 on the AW and 2-49 overall; this trip is likely to stretch her. |

The step up to 1m2f made the difference for MUY MUY LOCO when getting off the mark here in October and a 3lb rise doesn't appear to be overly harsh, especially given the fact he is likely to have more to come over this distance. The application of blinkers is expected to sharpen up Bintazzo, while any market support for Nekazari on his debut for George Boughey should be taken seriously.

Preference is for three-time C&D winner MASQOOL whose best form would give him every chance in a race at this level.

14/1(+0%) | (13) Winter Carnival 14/1, Unseated in a 3m handicap hurdle at Galway last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m and suited by testing ground, but inconsistent. Maiden was beaten 1l off 3lb higher in January, unseated latest, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -75%)Build A Bridge |
14/1(-75%) | (1) Build A Bridge 14/1, Improved in first-time hood when fourth, beaten 18l, in an auction hurdle over 2m5f at Bellewstown last time. Off a short break; effective from 2¼m to 3m and suited by good ground. Has shown progressive form in maidens. Handicap debutant, opening mark ok, ground a query, hood discarded, watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (18/1 +10%)Brianna Lily |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Brianna Lily 18/1, Made mistakes, became outpaced and ran poorly when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Downpatrick latest. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft. Needs to bounce back. Dual course winner at 3m, on a good mark but out of form when last seen and lacks a run. |

(6) (25/1 -14%)Glens Sensation |
25/1(-14%) | (6) Glens Sensation 25/1, Unseated in a beginners' chase over 2m1f at Killarney last time. Returns from a break with plenty to prove on hurdles return. No sign of winning potential yet, unseated in beginners' chase latest, hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (50/1 -317%)Biddy Early |
50/1(-317%) | (5) Biddy Early 50/1, Improved on her final qualifying run when fourth, beaten 30l, in a 2m maiden hurdle at Limerick latest. Effective at 2m on good ground and has shown steady progression in maidens. Handicap debutante has shown glimmers (inc' in bumper here), check the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (50/1 -150%)Sekakarma |
50/1(-150%) | (8) Sekakarma 50/1, Far too keen when down the field in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Navan most recent. Effective around 2½m and acts on good ground but needs to prove his ability remains after a long lay-off. H'cap debutant, no show in maidens, heavy defeat after layoff latest, watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(16) (66/1 +0%)Slea Head |
66/1(+0%) | (16) Slea Head 66/1, Stopped quickly when down the field in a 2m handicap hurdle at Thurles most recent. Tongue-tie on for the first time; yet to show any ability. 0-8, failed to beat a rival home latest, tongue tie needs to transform. |

SPANISH JOHN was a big eye-catcher at Punchestown last month. He made up a large amount of ground to be nearest at the finish when fourth in a big-field handicap over a similar trip. Winter Carnival wasn't done with when unseating at Galway in October. If he could get back to the form of his close third at Limerick in January, he would be a significant threat. Burlington House is up in trip after a fair fifth at Navan in November and could improve on that finish in this company.

A chance is taken on the relatively unexposed BURLINGTON HOUSE who hinted that this longer trip would suit on handicap debut at Navan

(4) (2/1 +64%)Eaton Anne |
2/1(+64%) | (4) Eaton Anne 2/1, Ran to form and just flattened out late when fourth, beaten 9½l in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f here last time. Effective at around 2½m and acts with cut in the ground. Should come on for that reappearance run. Dual winner last term (2m/2m3f); beaten favourite on reappearance but tries new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (2/1 -23%)Duel Au Soleil |
2/1(-23%) | (6) Duel Au Soleil 2/1, Did it readily when improving up in trip in first-time cheekpieces after a wind operation, winning a handicap by 6½l off 102 over 2m5f at Wetherby last time. Second run after the wind op. Effective between 2m2f and 2m5f on good ground and progressing well. Ridden clear to make winning handicap debut in October; up in trip again here; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/2 +10%)My Cullen |
9/2(+10%) | (7) My Cullen 9/2, Raced a bit freely but ran to form up in trip when beaten 3l off 99 over 2m7f at Lingfield last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m on good ground and generally consistent. Second in two of his three handicaps, latterly when upped to 2m7f at Lingfield last month. |

(1) (13/2 -44%)I Spy A Diva |
13/2(-44%) | (1) I Spy A Diva 13/2, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Cheltenham last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m on good ground and may be running into form after a layoff. Worth stepping back up in trip and well treated on old form. Drops in grade after two very respectable runs this autumn; back up in trip; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 +0%)Ebony Warrior |
14/1(+0%) | (2) Ebony Warrior 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Exeter last time. Effective around 2½m and was progressive before his reappearance. Had breathing issue when pulled up last time; generally very consistent; unexposed over 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/1 -14%)Stone's Throw |
16/1(-14%) | (5) Stone's Throw 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Effective around 3m on good ground but has shown inconsistency. Won uncompetitive maiden in March but pulled up when back in a handicap last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (33/1 -267%)Bridge North |
33/1(-267%) | (3) Bridge North 33/1, Made mistakes and ran below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Wetherby last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective at 3m and acts on soft and good ground but currently out of form. Out of form for Henry Daly last season and again well beaten for new stable last month. |

DUEL AU SOLEIL benefited from a wind operation and stepping up in trip when making a successful handicap debut at Wetherby. Now tackling 3m for the first time, Ben Pauling's charge is expected to have more to offer, despite being raised 8lb for that victory. My Cullen stepped forward from his return when runner-up at Lingfield and he commands respect along with Eaton Anne, who may have needed the outing when a beaten favourite here last month.

The pick is class-dropper I SPY A DIVA, who wasn't beaten far on either start this autumn and will be suited by this return to 3m.

(2) (11/4 +54%)Bownder |
11/4(+54%) | (2) Bownder 11/4, Below form when well beaten in a handicap over 9f at Newmarket last time; effective from 8f to 11f and acts on any surface; needs to bounce back. Recorded most recent win off 1lb higher in June; fighting chance if back to best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (3/1 +63%)Tatmeen |
3/1(+63%) | (5) Tatmeen 3/1, Below form when stepped up in trip and comfortably held in a handicap over 1m5f at Chelmsford last time; effective from 10f to 12f and handles the all-weather; needs more. Chance partly depends on how well he responds to racing without a hood for first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 +50%)Time Turner |
4/1(+50%) | (4) Time Turner 4/1, Probably needed the run when beaten 8l in a novice over 8f at Newcastle last time; yet to find ideal conditions but may do better now up in trip on handicap debut. May be capable of improvement now handicapping on second start for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (6/1 +63%)Photon |
6/1(+63%) | (6) Photon 6/1, Below form tried in blinkers when finishing down the field in a 12f handicap at Kempton last time; effective from 8f to 10f and well suited by the all-weather; cheekpieces return and drops back in trip. Still a maiden but is well treated on best form and this drop back in trip is a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 0%)Tommy's Promise |
12/1(0%) | (8) Tommy's Promise 12/1, Again ran to a moderate level when beaten 7l in a 9f handicap at Wolverhampton last time; trainer in form; effective from 8f to 10f and acts on a sound surface; currently in very poor form. Remains a maiden but this step back up in distance may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (12/1 -167%)City Of York |
12/1(-167%) | (3) City Of York 12/1, Below form, always behind when down the field in a 7f handicap here last time; usually held up; effective from 7f to 9f and acts on the all-weather; workable mark but needs to rebound. Couple of duck eggs since returned to AW, extending his long losing run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 -115%)Judge Frank |
14/1(-115%) | (7) Judge Frank 14/1, Ran to form tried in blinkers when beaten 2 1/4l off a mark of 55 over 8f here last time; effective at 7f and 8f, acts on a sound surface; inconsistent. Ran respectably over 1m here last week; possibilities if he stays this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -522%)Shalfa |
14/1(-522%) | (1) Shalfa 14/1, Ran to form under a good ride when landing a handicap by a length off a mark of 62 at Brighton last time; likes to make the running and is effective at 10f, acts on any surface; not certain to follow up her recent success. Made all at Brighton when last seen; only 1-16 on AW but gained the win over C&D. |

SHALFA was last seen in winning action at Brighton in September and the C&D winner looks to have been found a suitable opportunity off a 2lb higher mark. Tatmeen's run at Chelmsford is best ignored and the drop in trip gives him every chance to bounce back, while a return to the all-weather may see Bownder in a better light.

Being a mare who was in winning form when last seen and remains on a workable mark, SHALFA is preferred.

(2) (5/2 +29%)Trasna Na Pairce |
5/2(+29%) | (2) Trasna Na Pairce 5/2, Improved a little when dropped in grade on handicap debut, finishing fourth beaten 4l in a 2m handicap chase at Down Royal last time. Effective between 2m and 2m6f and may do better when stepped back up in trip. Showed a liking for this venue with back-to-back hurdling wins in May/June, strong chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/4 +58%)Three In A Row |
11/4(+58%) | (7) Three In A Row 11/4, Travelled well and ran to form before flattening out late when fourth beaten 7l in a 2m4f handicap chase at Naas last time. Effective around 2 1/2m, handles soft ground, and generally consistent; should come on for that run. Useful form over fences towards the end of last season, should improve from return at Naas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (4/1 +27%)Ag Obair Go Crua |
4/1(+27%) | (12) Ag Obair Go Crua 4/1, Returned to form in first-time headgear after a break, winning a 2m4f handicap at Gowran Park by 1 1/2l off 84. Back from a short break and has a bit to find. Handicap hurdle winner last time; could feature if jumping holds up on his chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/1 0%)Bridie's Beau |
7/1(0%) | (3) Bridie's Beau 7/1, From a yard that won this last year; made mistakes but showed some improvement when well beaten in a 2m1f novice chase at Punchestown. Effective around 2 1/2m and handles soft ground; longer trip should help on handicap debut but needs more. Dual hurdles winner is rated 117 in that sphere, nothing like that form over fences so far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (8/1 +76%)Zolpharine |
8/1(+76%) | (14) Zolpharine 8/1, Unsuited by rain-softened ground when down the field in a 2m1f handicap chase here last time. Effective at 3m and needs a sound surface; inconsistent with a modest strike rate. Only one win from 35 starts, undependable, pulled up twice in recent months, 4lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (8/1 -129%)One Last Tango |
8/1(-129%) | (1) One Last Tango 8/1, All but fell mid-race and had too much to do after, finishing fourth beaten 9 1/2l in a 2m3f handicap chase at Limerick last time. Effective from 2m to 2m3f; yet to win over fences but fairly treated and should improve for that run. Bumper and three-time hurdle winner; yet to score over fences, needs to jump better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (18/1 +28%)Love Like This |
18/1(+28%) | (13) Love Like This 18/1, Didn't handle the ground when down the field in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Contender if conditions suit. 30-race maiden, relatively unexposed over fences but not an obvious contender, 3lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 -108%)Femme Magnifique |
25/1(-108%) | (5) Femme Magnifique 25/1, May have found the ground too soft when comfortably held in a 2m3f beginners chase at Limerick last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m on good ground but yet to show form for current yard. Bumper/maiden hurdle winner for Willie Mullins, ordinary form over fences for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (25/1 +0%)Knockbrack Rambler |
25/1(+0%) | (11) Knockbrack Rambler 25/1, Likely found the ground too quick when down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Listowel last time. Open to improvement. Won a Limerick handicap hurdle last Christmas, lost form subsequently, makes chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (25/1 +24%)Little Mixup |
25/1(+24%) | (8) Little Mixup 25/1, Disappointing on return over fences when down the field in a 2m4f beginners chase at Gowran Park last time. Effective at 2m and handles soft ground but has been out of form over hurdles and fences for some time. 4-32 over hurdles and rated 110 in that sphere, poor completion rate over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (33/1 -32%)Your Honor |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Your Honor 33/1, Never travelled and was disappointing on handicap debut when comfortably held in a 2m handicap chase at Wexford. Prefers to make the running; returning from a break. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground; fair mark on Graded form but has something to prove. Flat/hurdles winner, has failed to make an impact over fences so far, up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (50/1 -213%)Brilliant Light |
50/1(-213%) | (10) Brilliant Light 50/1, Raced lazily when well beaten in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Thurles last time. Has a chance if sharper this time. Flat/maiden hurdle winner, recent efforts over longer distances do not encourage support. |

ONE LAST TANGO's fourth-place finishes in higher grades on his latest start at Limerick and at Leopardstown last Christmas read well in the context of this race. In addition to those runs, he has finished runner-up in two of his last four outings. Trasna Na Pairce looks a likely contender for Henry de Bromhead and Darragh O'Keeffe. Three In A Row is entitled to improve on a fourth place at Naas after an absence of almost six months.

A dual course winner over hurdles TRASNA NA PAIRCE (nap) has plenty going for him here now after a satisfactory run over a shorter trip

(1) (2/1 +56%)Machete |
2/1(+56%) | (1) Machete 2/1, Yard won this last year; bit keen but ran to form when 4 1/4l third in a handicap here on his most recent run. Effective around 10-13f and on this surface; looks on a competitive mark. Latest C&D third came in a race which is working out well; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (4/1 +56%)Miners Gamble |
4/1(+56%) | (10) Miners Gamble 4/1, Slowly away but bit keen and ran to form when beaten a head off 62 over 10f here last time. Effective up to 10f and on this surface; respected off this mark. Infrequent winner but ran well over 1m2f here when last seen in May; market useful. |

(9) (9/2 +18%)Relocal |
9/2(+18%) | (9) Relocal 9/2, Found little and ran well below form when down the field in a Southwell handicap most recently. (6) (15/2 +17%)Loving Look |
15/2(+17%) | (6) Loving Look 15/2, Ran to form tried in a hood when 5 1/2l third in a 1m6f handicap at Nottingham last time. Hood again, with the trainer in form; best at 10-14f and acts on any surface; mark fair down 2lb. Two wins for H Morrison in 2024; not quite so good this time around; hooded for yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (12/1 +0%)Promethean |
12/1(+0%) | (4) Promethean 12/1, Well below form and didn't stay when down the field in a 1m6f handicap at Salisbury most recently after a short break. Effective 10-12f and handles this surface; has a bit to prove. 1m4f win in France in August; sold 16,000gns in October; new yard quick to return the hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (12/1 -200%)Trojan Sun |
12/1(-200%) | (3) Trojan Sun 12/1, Improved again from the front when landing a handicap by 12l off 71 over 2m2f at Nottingham last time. Has the top course jockey aboard; stays up to 2m2f, unproven on this surface but respected up 6lb. Having a fine year; ran away with 2m2f handicap on heavy latest; very different test here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 -100%)Haveyoumissedme |
12/1(-100%) | (5) Haveyoumissedme 12/1, Produced his best run of 2025 when cashing in on a good mark to win a handicap by a head off 72 over 1m6f at Redcar last time. Effective 12-16f and handles this surface; respected up 3lb. Back to form with 28-1 success at Redcar last month (1m6f, good); 3lb rise manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 +0%)Atlantic Sunset |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Atlantic Sunset 14/1, Again well below form when well beaten in a 1m6f handicap at Redcar latest after a short break. Suited by 12f and handles a sound surface; has lost enthusiasm and everything to prove. Three heavy defeats have followed his Newmarket win in June; headgear switch today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (22/1 +12%)Annandale |
22/1(+12%) | (11) Annandale 22/1, Again a bit below form when beaten 6 1/4l in a 10f handicap here last time. Effective 10-14f and on this surface; on a fair mark. Three wins this year, including here (1m2f), but blows hot and cold; stable run two here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (33/1 -136%)Return To Dubai |
33/1(-136%) | (2) Return To Dubai 33/1, Below form and needed the run when beaten 9 1/4l in a 10f handicap here last time. Effective at the trip and suited by this surface, but still has plenty to prove including stamina. Can build on recent return from long absence; may need more weight off his back though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (50/1 -178%)Zephlyn |
50/1(-178%) | (8) Zephlyn 50/1, Raced wide and below form when well beaten in a 2m handicap at Catterick latest. In good form prior and enjoys making the running; effective 10-14f and on this surface; needs to bounce back. In good form over 2m in the spring; trip on the sharp side back from a break. |

Trojan Sun absolutely sluiced through the Nottingham mud to supplement a Musselburgh triumph, although those victories came at 2m and beyond and he has yet to prove himself on an artificial surface. Haveyoumissedme is also probably better suited to further, but burst back into life at Redcar and has won here before. Loving Look and Machete have claims, but a chance is taken that first-time blinkers help RELOCAL recapture the form that saw him just miss over C&D in October.

Topweight MACHETE looked on the way back when third over C&D last month and that form has been advertised since.

Has improved since wearing a tongue-tie and looks to have more to come. Made all at Worcester in August and ran well in defeat there on latest outing; respected. |

(6) (11/4 +66%)Lennie Godber |
11/4(+66%) | (6) Lennie Godber 11/4, Pulled up in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Huntingdon last time. Effective around 2½m but has yet to show much, though was well backed on that occasion. Flopped badly when favourite for handicap debut but evidently thought capable of better. |

(4) (9/2 +31%)Always A Reason |
9/2(+31%) | (4) Always A Reason 9/2, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time. Usually held up and effective between 2½m and 2¾m. Should come on for that outing. Low-mileage 6yo; made satisfactory seasonal debut; probably still has more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/2 -10%)Feet On The Ground |
11/2(-10%) | (3) Feet On The Ground 11/2, Did too much early but rallied when second, beaten 25l, in a 2m handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground. In fair form and could improve now stepped up in trip. Bumped into big improver when well-held second last month; this new trip ought to suit. |

(9) (17/2 -13%)Cher Monsieur |
17/2(-13%) | (9) Cher Monsieur 17/2, Made mistakes and was still green when below form up in trip, beaten 8l, in a 3m handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective around 2½m on good to soft or good ground and in only moderate form off low marks. Disappointed when upped to 3m in June but was placed over 2m4f in May; still low mileage. |

(5) (14/1 0%)Warner's Cross |
14/1(0%) | (5) Warner's Cross 14/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Was in good form previously and effective around 2½m on good ground. Must prove his ability remains after a long absence. Won off this mark last year and probably needed last month's reappearance run; a possible. |

(8) (40/1 -233%)Classic Lady |
40/1(-233%) | (8) Classic Lady 40/1, Travelled well but jumped poorly and returned to form under a more restrained ride when second, beaten 5l, in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Effective over 3m on good to soft or good ground. Needs to prove ability remains after a long break. Dual hurdle winner in June 2023; absent for 849 days, during which time she had a foal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 -150%)Walk The Plank |
125/1(-150%) | (7) Walk The Plank 125/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Market Rasen last time. Effective around 2½m but has yet to show any real ability. Well beaten in four 2m4f maiden hurdles; significant improvement needed on handicap debut. |

BALLYHIHO has turned a corner on her last couple of starts, with a victory at Worcester in August followed by a neck defeat at the same venue. The daughter of Jukebox Jury can take advantage of a contest that lacks depth on paper. Cher Monsieur didn't appear to get home over 3m at Ffos Las in June, so the drop back in trip is likely to aid his cause. Feet On The Ground completes the shortlist.

After an encouraging seasonal debut three weeks ago, ALWAYS A REASON can come good over hurdles at the sixth attempt.

14/1(+58%) | (3) Knightmare 14/1, Again well below novice form when beaten 9l in a handicap over 7f here last time; effective at 6f, acts on AW; much more needed with cheekpieces removed. Chance depends on whether the drop to 5f prompts improvement. |

(2) (33/1 -32%)Wedgewood |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Wedgewood 33/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap at Bath last time; effective at 5f, acts on AW; needs to bounce back. Lacks recent match practice having been absent for six months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (80/1 -100%)Second Collection |
80/1(-100%) | (10) Second Collection 80/1, Lacked the pace to challenge when beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; usually held up; suited by 5f, acts on AW, may not like give; out of form. Needs a revival on return from three-month break. |

ALAFDHAL scored at Wolverhampton before attempting to follow up under a 4lb penalty at the same track three days later. The seven-year-old went down by a neck over 6f and the drop back in trip is likely to benefit him on this occasion. Roman Spring got the better of South Shore Island over C&D last week, but the latter may reverse the form with a 5lb swing due to the winner's penalty.

Still well treated on peak form, BLUEBELLS BOY is taken to reverse C&D placings with South Shore Island and Roman Spring.

Winning hurdler, good chance on the strength of a Punchestown second on third chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 +25%)Cappucino |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Cappucino 9/1, Had too much to do and was never put into the race but improved from his debut when beaten 4l in a novice chase at Punchestown last time; effective over 2m and can do better over fences when ridden more positively. Bumper/hurdles winner, has finished behind today's rival Glenashling in two chase starts. |

(18) (33/1 -32%)Roxhill Roise |
33/1(-32%) | (18) Roxhill Roise 33/1, Keen and made her move too soon, finishing tired and well beaten in a 3m handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time; usually held up and hard to recommend. Point winner, best hurdles form at Tramore where she has won twice; reserve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (33/1 +18%)Gatsby Grey |
33/1(+18%) | (2) Gatsby Grey 33/1, Made a poor chase debut, finishing down the field in a beginners' chase over 2m6f at Thurles most recently; stays 2½–3m but needs to prove his ability remains after a layoff. Very useful hurdler in his young days, no sign of that ability on recent chase debut. |

50/1(-52%) | (5) Mic Drop 50/1, Disappointed when stepped back up in trip, finishing down the field in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Punchestown most recently; may improve for that outing. Point winner and a course bumper winner, failed to win over hurdles, may do better chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (50/1 +24%)So They Tell Me |
50/1(+24%) | (11) So They Tell Me 50/1, Pulled up in a 2m5f beginners' chase at Navan last time; effective around 3m but may need more time and experience in handicaps over fences. Handicap hurdle winner over a staying trip, pulled up in a strong contest on chasing debut. |

QUALIMITA could make the breakthrough for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy. There was merit in her third place in a Grade 2 novice chase at Punchestown last time and, prior to that, she filled the runner-up berth at Gowran. Gavin Cromwell's Glenashling looks dangerous as he has been placed in two of his three chases, while He's Gorgeous put in his best effort when second on better ground at Wexford in October.

It is probably worth siding with the hugely expensive QUALIMITA who has begun to prosper since switching to chasing.

33/1(-50%) | (6) Vietnorm 33/1, Late headway, improved on a moderate debut when beaten 8l in a novice over 8f here last time; trainer in form; bred for 8f+; more of a handicap type and the drop in trip may not suit. Unplaced in two runs last month; Viking Glory looks the stable's main hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (33/1 +0%)Diamond Aura |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Diamond Aura 33/1, Bit below debut level when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden over 6f at Southwell last time; longer trip may suit. Some promise on debut but failed to build on it last time (both 6f); improvement a must. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (66/1 +0%)Riddikulus |
66/1(+0%) | (9) Riddikulus 66/1, No impact from off the pace when well beaten in a novice over 8f here on her only start; bred for at least 8f; type to do better in handicaps. 80-1, slowly away and always behind on debut here two weeks ago (1m). |

ART GALLERY was bitterly disappointing on her Southwell introduction, but proved that running to be all wrong when coming within a neck of making it second-time lucky at Wolverhampton. Her conqueror that day has since maintained her unbeaten record and James Ferguson's filly really should be winning this. Viking Glory has been gelded since a promising fourth on his York debut and is the danger as long as there aren't any above-average newcomers, the pick of which is Raven's View.

The strongest claims are presented by Art Gallery and VIKING GLORY and the latter can build on his promising York debut.

8/15(+41%) | (3) Crown The Future 8/15, Ran to form, up in trip on handicap debut when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 51 over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 7f, acts on AW; respected after last week's breakthrough win. Odds-on favourite when winning on nursery debut last week (7f); 1m should suit; big player. |

(2) (5/1 -11%)Popty Ping |
5/1(-11%) | (2) Popty Ping 5/1, Travelled well and improved when tried in cheekpieces, beaten 1 1/4l off 56 here last time; effective from 6f to 8f and acts on all-weather; inconsistent so must back up latest effort. Exposed maiden but runs this track well and should make another bold bid. |

(1) (11/2 +45%)Archangel Josepi |
11/2(+45%) | (1) Archangel Josepi 11/2, Did not get home when stepped up in trip, beaten 4l off 62 over 7f here last time; proven at 6f and acts on all-weather; the longer distance may not suit. Unplaced in two nurseries here; hopes appear to rest on another step up in trip. |

(8) (11/1 -83%)Lope Harswell |
11/1(-83%) | (8) Lope Harswell 11/1, Improved slightly up in trip when beaten 2 1/4l off 46 here last time; effective at 8f, acts on AW; could improve further. Stayed on for second over C&D last week; open to further progress at the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/1 +0%)Dalamara |
16/1(+0%) | (5) Dalamara 16/1, Improved despite hanging when beaten 8l in a maiden over 6f here last time; middle-distance bred and the longer trip may suit on this handicap debut. Potential improver now stepping up 2f in trip and switched to a low-grade nursery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (28/1 -155%)Time For Action |
28/1(-155%) | (4) Time For Action 28/1, Won by 2 1/4l off 51 at Bath on her penultimate start; below form last time when not staying; suited by 8f and the drop in trip should help. Made all to win a 1m nursery at Bath in October; less good over 1m2f latest; needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (50/1 -213%)Mick The Vest |
50/1(-213%) | (6) Mick The Vest 50/1, Showed improvement though well held in a 7f maiden here last time; bred to sprint and hard to fancy now stepping up in trip on handicap debut. Up in trip for nursery debut but his maiden/novice form leaves him with a point to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (50/1 -79%)Harswell River |
50/1(-79%) | (7) Harswell River 50/1, Scored by a neck off 53 at Redcar in September; too keen and below form last time; effective at 7f and 8f and acts on all-weather; needs to bounce back. Finished behind stablemate Lope Harswell over C&D last week; exposed after 13 starts. |

The money came for CROWN THE FUTURE on his nursery debut at Wolverhampton last week and he didn't disappoint, landing the odds with a strong finish over 7f. On that evidence, the son of Coulsty will relish the extra furlong and the decision to turn him out again under a penalty can reap reward. Popty Ping has been edging closer towards the winner's enclosure, but may have to wait a little longer. She is still preferred to Lope Harswell for any forecast bets.

It wasn't a strong race that CROWN THE FUTURE won at Wolverhampton last week but he was well backed and shaped as though 1m would suit.

(2) (6/4 +14%)Forest Caper |
6/4(+14%) | (2) Forest Caper 6/4, Too keen but outlasted when second, beaten 1 1/2l in a novice over 8f here last time. Effective from 8-10f and should go well if settling better. Ultra consistent but keeps finding one or two stronger; should be in the thick of it again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (66/1 -450%)Power Quest |
66/1(-450%) | (6) Power Quest 66/1, Too keen and failed to get home when well held in a juvenile bumper over 2m1f here last time. Plenty more required on Flat debut. Wore headgear in three recent runs in bumpers and goes without now switched to the Flat. |

(5) (66/1 -230%)Ned Broy |
66/1(-230%) | (5) Ned Broy 66/1, Modest debut when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice over 8f here. Dam a 1m4f winner and he may need more time. Debut effort here two weeks ago wasn't without hope (1m); work to do with Forest Caper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (66/1 +18%)Furdy |
66/1(+18%) | (3) Furdy 66/1, Havana Grey gelding; dam fair up to 9f. Hard to fancy on debut despite this looking an uncompetitive race. 66-1 when withdrawn at the start here last month (refused to enter stalls); best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (200/1 -700%)Cordelin |
200/1(-700%) | (9) Cordelin 200/1, Improved on debut when fourth, beaten 4l in a maiden over 6f at Kempton, now back from a lengthy absence. Effective at 6f and acts on the all-weather but needs to improve. Sold for £2,000 out of James Ferguson's stable last July; best watched after 552 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (200/1 -150%)Muddy Marvellous |
200/1(-150%) | (4) Muddy Marvellous 200/1, Ran to a moderate level when down the field in a handicap over 8f at Southwell on latest start. Pedigree suggests speed, but difficult to fancy. Poor form in four starts, including on handicap debut in October (1m, Tapeta). |

Forest Caper is the most battle-hardened of this field and sets the standard with an official rating of 73, but the one that appeals most is CERELIA. The daughter of Wootton Bassett cost 410,000 euros as a yearling and it would be no surprise to see her make an instant impression for the in-form William Haggas team. Bowfell has been gelded since his sixth on debut at Wolverhampton in April and could get closer with that experience under his belt.

Forest Caper is reliable but could prove vulnerable again. Newcomer Cerelia and the once-raced BOWFELL are viable alternatives.

3/1(+0%) | (3) Somebody 3/1, Improved in a new headgear combination when beaten a neck off 65 here last time; effective at 6f and acts on a sound surface; respected after that effort. Maiden; went close in first-time visor over C&D most recently; possibilities. |

(4) (20/1 -150%)Mister Moet |
20/1(-150%) | (4) Mister Moet 20/1, Too keen but ran to form when beaten 3 1/4l off 64 here last time; effective at 6f; needs to settle. Ran with some promise in C&D event last time on AW/stable debut. |

UP THE AGENDA struck by a neck on his nursery debut at Yarmouth prior to finding heavy conditions against him when well beaten at Nottingham in October. If Jack Morland's juvenile can return to the form of his victory two starts ago, he could be the one to beat. Somebody was just touched off into second at Newcastle on his most recent start and has to be respected, despite a 2lb higher rating. Houndhill can beat Mister Moet home for third.

With improvement plausible, handicap debutant HOUNDHILL looks particularly interesting. Somebody is second pick.

66/1(-65%) | (5) Sophiesticate 66/1, Below form back up in trip when well beaten in a 12f handicap at Musselburgh latest; effective between 10f and 12f; has a bit to prove at present. Campaigned mostly at longer trips and on turf; enough to prove. |

The hat-trick seekng Coramento is bound to have his supporters, but AISLING OSCAR's effortless victory over 7f here on Thursday makes him tough to oppose. The four-year-old didn't have to come out of first gear to record that success and a similar performance will see him complete a double. Typeface was beaten a length into second over C&D last time and is the pick of the remainder.

Several runners hold strong claims on recent course form. The percentage call goes to low-mileage 3yo TYPEFACE.

Down 2lb and worth considering. Showed promise for B Meehan; sold 6,000gns in October; check market on stable debut. |

(11) (11/1 +39%)Wilde And Dandy |
11/1(+39%) | (11) Wilde And Dandy 11/1, Made no impression from off the pace when beaten 6 1/2l in a Redcar handicap last time. Usually held up. Suited by 7/8f and acts on a sound surface. Return to the all-weather looks a plus. Most of his winning in Class 6 company; below par on last start; others are safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (14/1 +30%)Bajan Bandit |
14/1(+30%) | (9) Bajan Bandit 14/1, Again below summer form when beaten 3l off 68 here last time. Suited by 7/8f and acts on the all-weather. Mark continues to fall but current form is poor. On a lowly mark; not threatened since wind op in September; Billy Loughnane a good booking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (20/1 -82%)The Cookstown Cafu |
20/1(-82%) | (10) The Cookstown Cafu 20/1, Bit below form when beaten 5l in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Effective at 7/8f and acts on the all-weather. Mark easing but improvement needed. Conditions to suit and on a good mark; yet to really shine for new stable though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (28/1 -56%)Novak |
28/1(-56%) | (1) Novak 28/1, Scored by 1/2l off 71 here three starts back and found little when dropped in trip last time. Effective at 6/7f and acts on a sound surface, though recent form has been inconsistent. C&D win in September off 3lb lower; less good twice since but a revival not impossible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (28/1 -12%)Maxi Boy |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Maxi Boy 28/1, Again below form when finishing down the field in a handicap here last time. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather. Needs to show more. Infrequent winner who has been well beaten on his last two starts; far from solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (40/1 -433%)Bobby Joe Leg |
40/1(-433%) | (6) Bobby Joe Leg 40/1, Had every chance but finished below form when fourth, beaten 4l, in a Redcar handicap latest. Effective at 7f and much better on the all-weather. Needs to bounce back. Prolific AW winner, including twice over C&D in March; returning from 190-day absence. |

Since running out an emphatic winner over C&D at the beginning of last month, JESMOND DAWN has failed by just a neck and a short head in two appearances here. Only 1lb higher than for that latest agonising defeat, compensation awaits Grant Tuer's gelding. King's School has been holding his form well and he will relish the return to his beloved Newcastle following a close-up Redcar third. Flying Fletcher is also happier here, while Asian Journey starts out for a new stable and is surely capable of better.

Flying Fletcher will appreciate the return to AW but KING'S SCHOOL has a fine record over C&D and may be able to win again.

(8) (11/4 +45%)State Of Madness |

5/1(+0%) | (2) Kirkdale 5/1, Improved again when beaten a short head off 70 here last time; trainer in form; suited by 6–7f and acts on all-weather; respected after latest run. Both recent C&D defeats can be upgraded; well handicapped if the cards fall right. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (15/2 +38%)Valentine Catcher |
15/2(+38%) | (4) Valentine Catcher 15/2, Scored by a nose off 72 at Pontefract in September; too keen but just about ran to form last time; effective 6–7f and acts on all-weather; can go well. Has C&D form and not on a bad mark; laboured at Southwell (7f) last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 +25%)Monsieur Kodi |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Monsieur Kodi 9/1, Ran to form up in trip when beaten 3/4l off 73 over 7f at Musselburgh last time; top course trainer; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather; drops in trip back on this surface. Feasibly treated and running well in defeat of late; can feature prominently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (10/1 -54%)Thunderstorm Katie |
10/1(-54%) | (11) Thunderstorm Katie 10/1, Improved again off new mark, showing a good attitude when landing a 5f handicap here by a nose off 59 last time; effective 5–7f and acts on all-weather; in good form and proven at this course. Chasing a hat-trick after two 5f wins in October; one to consider in an open race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 -140%)Brazilian Rose |
12/1(-140%) | (5) Brazilian Rose 12/1, Bit below form after a slow start when 5l third in a 7f handicap here on latest run; effective 6–7f and acts on all-weather; has a chance on recent efforts. Three C&D wins in January; encouragement on last two starts; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (16/1 -60%)I Need Your Love |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (25/1 -25%)Lord Abama |
25/1(-25%) | (7) Lord Abama 25/1, Found little and below form when beaten 3 1/2l off 72 here last time; top course jockey booked; enjoys racing prominently; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather; out of sorts. Two-time C&D winner; quiet of late but down in weights & Paul Mulrennan back in the saddle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (50/1 -178%)Hiatus |
50/1(-178%) | (9) Hiatus 50/1, Again below form on ground too deep when comfortably held in a Nottingham handicap last time; usually held up; suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; chance returning to this surface. Starts out for new yard off a dangerous mark; betting to guide. |

A really competitive sprint to round out proceedings, with THUNDERSTORM KATIE taken to complete her three-timer after prevailing by the narrowest of margins at Musselburgh and this venue, with the most recent coming at the chief expense of a subsequent winner. State Of Madness couldn't quite manage to land his own hat-trick at Yarmouth, but is dangerous if transferring that form to the all-weather. Bath winner I Need Your Love also needs to show he handles the surface, whereas Kirkdale has no such worries. Throw Monsieur Kodi and Hunky Dory into the mix too.

A competitive sprint but KIRKDALE (nap) may prove himself to be a fair bit better than this mark when the cards fall right for him.
Ths is the racecard key.
