1st (4) (9/4 +55%)Upepo |
9/4(+55%) | (4) Upepo 9/4, Well below form when down the field in a Southwell handicap most recently; effective 12-16f and acts on the all-weather. The step back up in trip may help. Down in weights and returns to a more suitable trip; a revival could be imminent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (20/1 -43%)Queen Sansa |
20/1(-43%) | (8) Queen Sansa 20/1, Again ran to a poor level when beaten 10l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time. Effective 7-11f and acts on the all-weather; needs to bounce back. Not at her best of late and she will need to settle better upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/2 +50%)Voix De Bocelli |
11/2(+50%) | (2) Voix De Bocelli 11/2, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 17l, in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time. Effective at 10f and acts on the all-weather; the return to the Flat may suit. Two Brighton wins earlier in the year; gone off the boil (Flat and hurdles) more recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (12/1 +0%)Come To Pass |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Come To Pass 12/1, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Stratford last time; effective around 10f and acts on the all-weather. Absent for a very lengthy period and others appear likelier. Two course wins in late 2022; absent 547 days and likely best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 -79%)High Favour |
25/1(-79%) | (5) High Favour 25/1, Bit below form when well beaten in a maiden at Galway last time; absent for a very lengthy period. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather but hard to fancy on stable debut. Unplaced in three 7f maidens for Jim Bolger last summer; 506-day absence to defy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (3/1 +54%)Extrication |
3/1(+54%) | (1) Extrication 3/1, Produced his best work late when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time; hood on for the first time after a short break. Effective 7-10f on the all-weather but unreliable, with stamina still to prove. Exposed maiden; new stable trying a new trip and with a hood fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (12/1 -380%)Foinix |
12/1(-380%) | (6) Foinix 12/1, Again ran to a poor level when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton last time; effective 10-16f, suited by fast ground, acts on AW; considered on return to Flat. In good form on the Flat in the summer; subsequent hurdle runs easy to forgive; e-w shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (7/2 -17%)Seventy |
7/2(-17%) | (3) Seventy 7/2, Bit below form, made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap at Kempton latest; off a short-break; suited by 12f, acts on AW; could bounce back on stable debut. Went close at Kempton in August (1m4f); sold 12,000gns in October; interesting candidate. |

FOINIX has struggled over timber recently, but he was in good form on the level in the autumn and whilst a few of these arrive with something to prove, he looks the safest option. Seventy failed to reward favourite backers at Kempton latest but does still have scope for further improvement, and connections will be hopeful that the application of a first-time hood can help stable debutant Extrication.

Foinix will be happier back on the Flat but SEVENTY isn't fully exposed just yet and can make a winning stable debut.

1st (4) (7/2 +65%)Intervention |
7/2(+65%) | (4) Intervention 7/2, Bit keen but took a step back in the right direction when dropped in grade, beaten 5 1/4l in a seller at Southwell last time. Effective over 6f and 7f and acts on the all-weather; now below his last winning mark. Prolific winner but not at best twice last month and will face competition for the lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 +50%)Valley Ofthe Kings |
3/1(+50%) | (3) Valley Ofthe Kings 3/1, Scored by a length off 80 at Chelmsford penultimate start; bit below best last time; effective 5-7f, acts on sound surface; down 1lb and can go well. 2-4 since blinkers went on; not at his best last time and needs to hit new heights today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -15%)Tiger Crusade |
15/2(-15%) | (2) Tiger Crusade 15/2, Ran to form, strong at finish in landing a handicap by a neck off 72 at Brighton last time; best at 7f, acts on GF, AW; returning off much higher AW mark. Class 5 turf win when last seen in June; returns to action off a tough AW mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/2 -17%)Counsel |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Counsel 7/2, Showed improved form, his best since 2022, when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 77 here last time. Effective at 5f and 6f and acts on the all-weather; considered under a penalty. Impressive from the front over C&D last week; solid claims under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (17/2 -55%)Mc Loven |
17/2(-55%) | (6) Mc Loven 17/2, Again below form when beaten 3 1/4l off 72 here last time. Enjoys making the running; best at 5f but stays 6f and acts on the all-weather; needs to bounce back. Trailblazer who lurks on a dangerous mark; has 6f form but happier at 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (18/5 -31%)Society Man |
18/5(-31%) | (1) Society Man 18/5, Scored by a neck off 85 at Kempton on his penultimate start and ran to form off a slightly higher mark last time. Effective over 7f and 8f, and goes well on the all-weather; can go well again. Not beaten far over 7f here two weeks ago; having a rare 6f run; still on a handy mark. |

Tiger Crusade was able to exploit a lower turf mark to score at Brighton in June and is respected following a break, as is Society Man, who should benefit from a strong pace likely to be set by Mc Loven. Intervention should not be underestimated, but stable companion COUNSEL gets the nod. Mick Appleby's gelding won in comfortable fashion over C&D recently and a 4lb penalty is unlikely to stop him.

He may not be able to boss this field from the front but COUNSEL (nap) still makes plenty of appeal as he bids to defy a penalty.

1st (1) (85/40 +15%)Jig's Forge |
85/40(+15%) | (1) Jig's Forge 85/40, Ran to form on chase debut when 3 1/4l third in a handicap chase at Cheltenham most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on S, G; can do better, slight step up in trip a help. Encouraging start over fences when third at Cheltenham (2m4f); work to do on the figures.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/9 -22%)Lucky Place |
4/9(-22%) | (2) Lucky Place 4/9, Went clear but tired late and made too much use of when 5l third in a beginners' chase at Ascot last time. Effective from 2m4f to 2m6f, acts on soft and good ground, but has stamina to prove at 3m. Surely has more to offer. Dual Grade 2 winning hurdler; scoped dirty when beaten on Ascot chasing debut.. |

With Regent's Stroll going in at Wincanton on Tuesday, LUCKY PLACE's task has been made a lot easier. A dual Grade 2 winner over hurdles, Nicky Henderson's six-year-old was disappointing on his chase bow at Ascot but boasts plenty of class and is taken to come good this time. Jig's Forge was third in handicap company at Cheltenham and can pick up the pieces should the selection misfire.

The pick on hurdles form is LUCKY PLACE who emerged with a valid excuse (dirty scope) for a slightly underwhelming chase debut at Ascot.

1st (5) (9/2 -80%)Blue Nguru |
9/2(-80%) | (5) Blue Nguru 9/2, Too free early up in trip and didn't get home when fourth beaten 5l in a nursery here latest; suited by 6f, didn't stay 7f. This drop back in trip looks in order. She isn't progressing but still brings solid form claims; drop to 5f could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/1 0%)Pilgrim's Progress |
9/1(0%) | (8) Pilgrim's Progress 9/1, Too keen but still improved on a poor debut when fourth beaten 6l in a maiden at Newbury latest; off a short break. Bred to be effective over 6-8f and likely to do better in handicaps. Second run was better than her debut and she is bred to do better still; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (13/8 +68%)Chhota Saab |
13/8(+68%) | (1) Chhota Saab 13/8, Bit below form when beaten 7 1/2l in a nursery at Chelmsford last time, not staying the trip; had been in good form prior. Blinkers go on for the first time; trainer in form. Effective at 6f, drop in trip may help but looks vulnerable in this novice. Failed to fire on nursery debut three weeks ago (7f); drops in trip with blinkers added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 -115%)Evenepoel |
14/1(-115%) | (2) Evenepoel 14/1, 18 Jan; £22,000 Elzaam gelding; half-brother to King's Crown, smart at 6f; dam very useful at 7f at 2yo; could have a say in a weak race on debut. £22,000 half-brother to two winners; dam a 7f AW winner; stable run three here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (2/1 +11%)Cryingintherain |
2/1(+11%) | (6) Cryingintherain 2/1, Modest debut after early interference when beaten 8l in a novice at Southwell; off a short break. Should be effective at 6/7f but improvement is required. Didn't live up to market billing on Southwell debut eight weeks ago (6f); can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (20/1 -43%)Hardstyle |
20/1(-43%) | (3) Hardstyle 20/1, Improved on a modest debut when beaten 10l in a novice at Wolverhampton last time; bred to sprint and needs to show more. Modest form in two Tapeta maidens last month; handicaps should be more suitable after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (80/1 -344%)Lieutenant Sir |
80/1(-344%) | (4) Lieutenant Sir 80/1, Too far back to land a blow in a fast-run race when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice at Wolverhampton last time; should be effective at 5/6f but yet to show any reliable form. Big prices and well beaten in two Wolverhampton runs, the latest on Saturday; no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (150/1 -436%)Dawn Melody |
150/1(-436%) | (7) Dawn Melody 150/1, Produced a better effort down in trip when beaten 8l in a novice at Windsor last time; returning from a break. Yet to find ideal conditions and hard to fancy. Poor form in her five turf starts; no appeal on AW debut. |

This isn't the deepest novice race that will take place over the winter period and it presents a fine opportunity to BLUE NGURU. The daughter of Blue Point has produced a consistent level of form across her four career starts and dropping to the minimum trip could be the making of her. Chhota Saab arrives with a chance, while market support for newcomer Evenepoel would be noteworthy.

Pilgrim's Progress and CRYINGINTHRAIN appeal as potential improvers and the selection can leave her debut run well behind her.

1st (1) (2/5 +45%)Un Sens A La Vie |
2/5(+45%) | (1) Un Sens A La Vie 2/5, Ran to form down in grade when second beaten 3l in a novice hurdle at Kempton last time; effective at 2m; point winner expected to stay further and looks useful over hurdles. Beaten in good races the last twice; every chance of defying a penalty in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 0%)Bras D'or |
4/1(0%) | (2) Bras D'or 4/1, Travelled well but had too much to do on debut when beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden hurdle at Cheltenham; effective at 2m, acts on soft; strong form and should be winning when dropped in grade. Beaten narrowly by Un Sens A La Vie in a point; likeable hurdling debut at Cheltenham. |

Showed a nice bit ability in defeat for Willie Mullins; below par on heavy (hurdle debut). |

50/1(-100%) | (13) Ample Warning 50/1, Modest bumper debut when well beaten in a Mares bumper at Cheltenham on only start; absent for a lengthy period and faces a stiff task. 50-1 and never threatened in a Cheltenham bumper in April 2024. |

125/1(-89%) | (6) Monsun Climate 125/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon last time; effective at 2m; point form suggests a longer trip will suit, but has plenty to find. Has no obvious claims after what he's shown in five points, a bumper and a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (16) (80/1 -220%)Moonlightinthepark |
80/1(-220%) | (16) Moonlightinthepark 80/1, Outpaced but showed minor promise when fourth beaten 15l in a novice hurdle at Wetherby; acts on soft; 2m may prove a bit sharp on hurdle debut. Fourth of five on hurdle debut at Wetherby and needs to leave that form a long way behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (80/1 -220%)Supreme Shot |
80/1(-220%) | (9) Supreme Shot 80/1, Outpaced on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Southwell; effective at 2m, acts on soft; improvement required but may get further in time. Has shown a bit in two bumpers and a maiden but probably one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (66/1 -230%)Daring To Dream |
66/1(-230%) | (14) Daring To Dream 66/1, Improved from debut when comfortably held in a Mares bumper at Warwick; wears a hood for the first time; hard to fancy on that evidence. Beaten 6l and about double that in her two bumpers; hooded for this hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (80/1 +0%)Can U Feel It |
80/1(+0%) | (3) Can U Feel It 80/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a novice hurdle at Exeter most recently; likely to need further than 2m over hurdles. Under rules he's finished tailed off in an Ascot bumper and a 2m novice at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (66/1 +0%)Wings On Wheels |
66/1(+0%) | (12) Wings On Wheels 66/1, Outpaced but showed some improvement from debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Newbury; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on soft; looks one for handicaps later on. Second in a point but has offered little in maiden hurdles this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (15) (100/1 +33%)Freddiemissmolli |
100/1(+33%) | (15) Freddiemissmolli 100/1, Unseated rider in a maiden hurdle at Hereford last time when beaten; acts with cut; may require further than 2m. 250-1 and behind when departing late in the day at Hereford last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (100/1 -52%)Thorgath |
100/1(-52%) | (10) Thorgath 100/1, Never threatened when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Warwick last time; usually held up; effective at 2m, acts on good to soft; likely to need more time over hurdles. Last of three on bumper debut and it's been a very quiet start in maiden hurdles. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (4) (4/1 +50%)Caspari |
4/1(+50%) | (4) Caspari 4/1, Cracksman gelding; half-brother to Luccia, top-class at 16f; dam was high-class from 14f to 17f; trained by a leading yard. Half-brother to smart Luccia; bred to be useful and in top hands so he's of clear interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (8) (250/1 -150%)Onehundredneighty |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Onehundredneighty 250/1, Modest debut when down the field in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee; yet to find suitable conditions and looks up against it. No positives to take from his runs in two bumpers and a novice event at Bangor. |

Un Sens A La Vie found one too strong under a penalty at Kempton last month and despite setting a fairly useful standard, he might have to settle for a supporting role again. BRAS D'OR, who shaped with real promise on his hurdling bow at Cheltenham, could be the one. David Pipe's gelding, who runs in the famous green and gold, was actually beaten by Un Sens A La Vie in a point-to-point in October last year but should go very close on these terms. Others to note include Caspari and Unknown Entity.

With his Kempton run looking all the better now after last week's events UN SENS A LA VIE is taken to defy a penalty.

12/1(-50%) | (1) Belaya River 12/1, Below form and never involved when comfortably held in a handicap at Southwell last time. Off a short break and should be effective at 2m over hurdles. Type to do well hurdling. Close second in low-grade AW handicap in September; with good stable for hurdling career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (28/1 +30%)Laplander |
28/1(+30%) | (7) Laplander 28/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 9l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Off a short break and 2m should suit over hurdles. Brings potential to the hurdling sphere. Fair form when third on the Flat in May but two lesser efforts followed; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (4/1 -14%)Northwest Passage |
4/1(-14%) | (9) Northwest Passage 4/1, Improved again up in trip when second, beaten 1 1/4l, in a handicap here last time. Off a short break and should be effective at 2m over hurdles. Now wears a hood. Much-improved Flat performer over 1m2f this autumn; can feature on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

16/1(-88%) | (8) Nelson Gate 16/1, Fair debut tried in cheekpieces when second beaten 12l in a juvenile hurdle at Fontwell latest; effective 2m2f, acts on GS; more to offer for in-form yard. Runner-up on hurdle debut at Fontwell; others here probably have more potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (80/1 +20%)Dodging The Bullet |
80/1(+20%) | (3) Dodging The Bullet 80/1, Too keen and below debut level when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Warwick most recently. Wears a hood for the first time and yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles. Type to do better handicapping. Displayed promise on all three 1m Flat runs but well beaten on both hurdling starts. |

Down To Business displayed ability on the Flat when trained in Ireland, most notably at the Curragh last time out when he finished a close-up third. The market should tell us more about how he's schooled over hurdles for Dan Skelton, while similar comments apply to Northwest Passage. LOVE SONNET brings proven hurdling form to the table, though, and gets the nod following her Hereford triumph.

There are some interesting recruits from the Flat but LOVE SONNET has already taken well to hurdling and might be the answer.

125/1(-213%) | (3) Klammer Express 125/1, Outpaced and showed nothing when well beaten in a novice here on only start; sire was a sprinter and dam stayed 10f; all to prove after poor debut. 50-1 for last week's debut here (7f) and never threatened; best watched for now. |

8th (6) (11/2 +45%)Going To Graceland |
11/2(+45%) | (6) Going To Graceland 11/2, 1 Mar; 10,000 euros Sioux Nation colt; half-brother to Va Va Vroom, very smart at 7f; dam fair at 7f at 2yo; probably need the experience. 10,000euros half-brother to a 7f 2yo winner; no surprise to see him feature. |

It was a costly defeat for supporters of ONLY IN MANILA at Kempton a fortnight ago but the son of Victor Ludorum sets a fair standard nonetheless. The youngster might improve for the addition of first-time cheekpieces too and, if doing so, he can reward those who keep the faith. Spirit Of Athene hit the frame over C&D latest and commands respect in receipt of the fillies' allowance, whilst Chelio appeals most of the remainder.

This looks a good opportunity for ONLY IN MANILA to get off the mark. Spirit Of Athene is feared most.

12/1(-118%) | (3) Milan Tino 12/1, Hampered early, made mistakes, and was outpaced on poor chase debut when fourth beaten 33l in a handicap chase at Warwick; effective 2-2 1/2m; well handicapped on hurdle form and may prefer easier ground. Useful hurdler before losing his way; didn't jump great when well beaten on chase debut. |

2nd (4) (12/1 -33%)Lime Drop |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Lime Drop 12/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter on ground more testing than ideal; effective at 2m; admirably consistent. Did well last season and her Uttoxeter fourth was fair enough given the heavy ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (40/1 -150%)Park Annonciade |
40/1(-150%) | (8) Park Annonciade 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time; fair mark on best hurdles form but bit to prove for new yard now chasing. Figures PFF3 in chases; quiet in two handicap hurdles for current yard. |

5th (6) (15/8 +38%)Authoceltic |
15/8(+38%) | (6) Authoceltic 15/8, Improved for a ready win landing a handicap by 4l off 108 at Wincanton last time; effective at 2m, acts on good and good to soft ground; well handicapped and more to come based on old hurdle form. Won by nearly 4l at Wincanton and already looking a better chaser than hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/2 +22%)Lightning Flash |
7/2(+22%) | (7) Lightning Flash 7/2, Won by 4l off 106 at Chepstow three starts back; departed late when challenging and looked a big threat before falling in a handicap chase last time; effective at 2-2 1/2m, acts on soft and good ground; needs cleaner jumping. Running well and upsides Hypotenus when falling two out over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/2 +15%)Hypotenus |
11/2(+15%) | (5) Hypotenus 11/2, Caught late and ran to form after wind surgery but did too much too soon when beaten 2 1/4l off 114 here last time; second run after wind op; effective at 2m on a sound surface; well treated off an unchanged mark and could be tough to catch. Second here 23 days ago; same mark for this but in what's probably a better race. |

200/1(-203%) | (2) Stormin Crossgales 200/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Fakenham last time; enjoys making the running; effective at 2-2 1/2m; inconsistent and spring win form has not worked out. Last win came in a two-runner claiming chase; pulled up in both races for current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (14/1 +30%)Paddy In The Caddy |
14/1(+30%) | (9) Paddy In The Caddy 14/1, Outpaced and below form when down the field in a handicap chase at Exeter last time; blinkers on first time; enjoys making the running; effective at 2m on decent ground; back below last winning mark but struggling this term. Three chase wins; back on a good mark should the new blinkers spark a revival. |

AUTHOCELTIC has improved for the switch to fences and was quite taking when scoring at Wincanton last time. Representing Jane Williams' in-form stable, the five-year-old is taken to kick on and keep progressing through the handicap ranks. Homme D'Un Soir knows his way around here and is taken to at least hit the frame, while Lightning Flash isn't without a squeak.

A few with chances in a competitive handicap but AUTHOCELTIC looked a chaser to follow at Wincanton.

Placed on both hurdling starts but the form isn't anything to go wild about. |

40/1(-60%) | (1) Campbell Black 40/1, Below debut form when stepped up in grade and comfortably held in an auction hurdle at Galway last time; off a short break; effective at 2m and likely to stay further in time; probably one for handicaps after this. 8th (9) (22/1 -193%)Secret Beach |
22/1(-193%) | (9) Secret Beach 22/1, Bit keen but showed a good attitude, running to form when winning a handicap at Newmarket by a head last time; should stay 2m over hurdles and looks a promising recruit to jumping. Bought for £24,000 after winning 1m4f Newmarket handicap in October; stable/hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (150/1 -20%)Victory Shout |
150/1(-20%) | (12) Victory Shout 150/1, Below form when tried in a hood, finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Fontwell most recently; should stay 2m over hurdles but hard to make a case for. Useful on the Flat but struggled in Fontwell maiden when back over hurdles last month. |

Improved form when respectable fourth of six at Ffos Las last month; much more needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

125/1(-56%) | (13) Yummy 125/1, Poor hurdles debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Warwick most recently; yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles and may need more time. Did not get competitive on last month's hurdle debut; stable second string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (125/1 +0%)Simiyann |
125/1(+0%) | (10) Simiyann 125/1, Poor debut over hurdles when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Windsor latest; yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles and faces a stiff task here. Fair stayer on the Flat but struggled on all three hurdling starts. |

KADASTRAL bumped into a nice type on his hurdling debut at Chepstow last month and can go one better back at the track where he won his bumper last season. Secret Beach and Contacto are interesting Flat recruits and must be taken seriously, but the main danger to the selection is Loustic Du Chatel, an impressive bumper winner at Ascot on his debut.

This is a good opportunity for KADASTRAL, who bumped into a smart rival when second on last month's hurdling debut.

3rd (3) (7/1 -27%)Silver State |
7/1(-27%) | (3) Silver State 7/1, Very green and moderate debut when well beaten in a maiden at Windsor on only start. Likely to want 7f or further. Newly gelded and upped in trip. Badly in need of the experience on debut in May (6f); now gelded; could make big progress. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (33/1 -65%)Living In Hope |
33/1(-65%) | (7) Living In Hope 33/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a maiden at Kempton on only start. Should be effective at 8f or further but needs much more. 33-1 for last month's debut and always behind after a sluggish start; bred to do better. |

It is far from a daunting standard set by those with experience, so it might pay to side with newcomer FREE YOUR SPIRIT. The Starman colt, who fetched 40,000 pounds as a yearling, is related to a couple of decent milers and would not need to be anything special in order to make an instant impact. Roserunner (fifth) and Cranachan (sixth) were well held at Kempton but could improve.

Newcomer Free Your Spirit appeals on paper but CRANACHAN may leave his recent Kempton debut well behind him.

25/1(0%) | (3) Where's Cato 25/1, Improved from debut when up in trip to win a maiden hurdle at Exeter by 4l last time; returns from a short break; effective around 2 1/2m and acts with cut; this test may prove inadequate. Justified support in a five-runner mares' maiden at Exeter (2m5f); a tougher test awaits.. |

|PU| (13) (150/1 -88%)Wishful Wings |
150/1(-88%) | (13) Wishful Wings 150/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 40l, in a maiden at Ballingarry last time; faces a stiff task on rules debut. Modest point form, beaten 40l when runner-up at Ballingarry (3m) in May; look elsewhere.. |

POTTERSVILLE won a Clonmel bumper by eight lengths and, following a lacklustre hurdling debut at Newbury last month, she came good at Exeter and looked quite smart. Given the manner of that victory, Rebecca Curtis' mare looks up to successfully shouldering a penalty at this level. Gaelic Saint made a pleasing hurdling introduction at Warwick and is respected along with Crystal Spring.

The pair with the proven form in the book are Gaelic Saint and POTTERSVILLE, the latter a wide-margin recent Exeter winner.

Trainer in form; effective from 2m1f to 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground. Looks useful and may well defy the penalty. Created good impression when winning at Ascot last month; must be considered. |

2nd (9) (7/4 +73%)Trial By Jury |
7/4(+73%) | (9) Trial By Jury 7/4, Promising debut when 2 1/2l winner in a maiden point at Tattersalls Farm on debut; effective at 3m in points, acts on yielding to soft; respected on rules debut for good yard. Won on Irish point debut in October; market instructive before this rules debut. |

9/2(-29%) | (1) Daydream Nation 9/2, Green and made mistakes but went clear with ease for a very promising debut in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last time. Off a short break; effective at 2m4f and acts on yielding ground. Form nothing special but looks useful. Made virtually all and won easily by 16l on rules debut at Gowran (2m4f) in October. |

125/1(-56%) | (4) Crossgales King 125/1, Outclassed when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Chepstow last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground. May need more time over hurdles. Showed only minor promise and was ultimately well beaten on first two hurdling starts. |

5th (6) (20/1 -100%)Laurier Des Obeaux |
20/1(-100%) | (6) Laurier Des Obeaux 20/1, Promising debut when 4 1/4l third in a novice hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on good to soft and good ground. More to come. Respectable third of six on hurdle debut at Lingfield but has quite a bit to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (12/1 -243%)Padre Arthur |
12/1(-243%) | (7) Padre Arthur 12/1, Modest debut, raced too keenly when well beaten in a bumper here on only start. Should be effective at 2m and almost certainly has more to come for a top yard. Beaten nearly 20l when sixth in course bumper last month but may fare better over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (100/1 -100%)Peckforton Hills |
100/1(-100%) | (8) Peckforton Hills 100/1, Continued in poor form when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective at 2m1f, acts on S; looks one for low-grade handicaps. Won Carlisle bumper in February but first two hurdle runs were very underwhelming. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (40/1 -122%)Fiveosevensix |
40/1(-122%) | (5) Fiveosevensix 40/1, £6,500 Nathaniel gelding, first foal; dam an 8f winner and related to sprinters. Hard to fancy on hurdles debut. In good hands but has daunting standard to reach on belated debut. |

KRIPTICJIM left a lasting impression when winning at Ascot last time out. He wasn't stopping at the line over 2m3f that day, so it's quite possible that he could improve again for this extra yardage. Daydream Nation won an Irish point-to-point before bolting up on his Rules bow at Gowran Park and is very much a player. Trial By Jury is also worth a look.

The suggestion in this interesting novice hurdle is Ascot winner KRIPTICJIM but Gowran winner Daydream Nation has to be feared.

Two turf wins here in August but she struggled on reappearance at Kempton last week. |

ME TARZAN is a model of consistency and is fancied to go very close having been freshened up following a couple of quick runs in October. He's won over 7f on the turf here before and it won't be long before he's back in the winning groove. Way To Dubai certainly has a race of this nature within his compass and he's noted along with Dashing Donkey.

The vote goes to ENPASSANT who returned to form with a close third at Wolverhampton and is a big player if he can back that up.

1st (5) (9/2 +25%)Ballycamus |
9/2(+25%) | (5) Ballycamus 9/2, Went too fast and finished down the field in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time. Effective around 3m and usually consistent, though acts on any ground. Could easily return to form with Sam Twiston-Davies back aboard and he's a C&D winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 +33%)Destroytheevidence |
4/1(+33%) | (1) Destroytheevidence 4/1, Needed the run when finishing 20l third in a handicap chase at Chepstow on his latest start. Trainer in form. Off a short break and effective between 2½m and 3m but can be inconsistent. Has the form to feature and shaped as though his run in October would bring him on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/2 +25%)Hunter Legend |
5/2(+25%) | (3) Hunter Legend 5/2, Outpaced and made mistakes when well beaten in a handicap chase at Newbury last time, possibly finding the ground too quick. Effective from 2½m to 3m and suited by some cut; could bounce back on easier ground. Big shout on his sixth at Cheltenham last month; had a rare blip last time at Newbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 -140%)Neon Moon |
6/1(-140%) | (2) Neon Moon 6/1, Ran to form when appreciating a stiff test down in trip, landing a handicap chase by 2¼l off 129 over 2m5f at Ascot last time. Effective from 2m5f to 3m on good ground; in good form but possibly high enough in the weights. Stayed on best to lead late on over 2m5f at Ascot; chance if holding his form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (5/2 +38%)Rockinastorm |
5/2(+38%) | (6) Rockinastorm 5/2, Fell in a handicap chase at Cheltenham on latest start when beaten; should come on for that. Off a short break and effective at 3m, acts on any ground. Just 1lb above last winning mark, loves the track and should benefit from the class drop. Held when falling at Cheltenham in October but could be a different proposition this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (33/1 -50%)Rapper |
33/1(-50%) | (4) Rapper 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Ascot on latest outing. Stays further, with 3m a minimum trip. Has been inconsistent and was regressing before a layoff. Changes headgear this afternoon but turns 12 soon and has too much to prove. |

NEON MOON was back in the winning groove over 2m5f at Ascot last month and, as a previous C&D winner, David Pipe's gelding should have no problem going back up in trip. This is competitive, though, as there are a couple of fellow track-and-trip winners going to post in Ballycamus and Rockinastorm. Punters should also consider Hunter Legend and Destroytheevidence.

His last run was disappointing but HUNTER LEGEND makes plenty of his appeal on the strength of his previous run at Cheltenham.

1st (3) (3/1 +25%)Mighty Bandit |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Mighty Bandit 3/1, Ran to form on chase debut when beaten 2l off 127 here last time; effective 2m, acts on S, GS; back in form in both codes. Won on the Flat in summer and was creditable second over C&D on last month's chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (13/8 +7%)Highlands Legacy |
13/8(+7%) | (6) Highlands Legacy 13/8, Scored by 2l off 115 at Worcester penultimate start; ran to form, suited by stiff test at the trip last time; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on Hy, G; more to offer over fences. Won on chase debut and form of subsequent Aintree second reads very well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/4 +31%)Lookaway |
11/4(+31%) | (1) Lookaway 11/4, Ran to form back from 11 months off after wind op when beaten 1/2l off 135 at Uttoxeter last time; trainer in form; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on S, G; still has potential over fences. Useful and game front-runner over hurdles; still unexposed over fences; can make bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 -50%)Torneo |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Torneo 6/1, Ran to form and appreciated the stiff test when beaten a neck off a mark of 122 at Cheltenham last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. In form and can go well again. Two good runs this season, the latter a close second at Cheltenham last month; up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (14/1 -40%)Kotmask |
14/1(-40%) | (2) Kotmask 14/1, Made mistakes at key stages when beaten 6l in a handicap chase at Ascot last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and suited by decent ground. Has dropped back to a workable mark. Down in grade after creditable fifth in valuable Ascot handicap last month; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (50/1 -127%)Uncle Phil |
50/1(-127%) | (4) Uncle Phil 50/1, Keen and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap chase here last time. Enjoys making the running. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground. Currently out of form and hard to fancy. Out of form form new stable this autumn. |

A trappy contest, not least because most of these arrive in good form, so only a tentative vote goes to LOOKAWAY. The useful hurdler is one from two over fences and the defeat came in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham, so he might have more to offer at this level. Mighty Bandit and Highlands Legacy are open to further improvement too and both could mount a serious challenge, as might the consistent Torneo.

Bottomweight HIGHLANDS LEGACY (nap) has made a very good start to his chasing career and is taken to pounce from off the pace.

10/3(+5%) | (2) Brasil Power 10/3, Scored by a length off 82 at Kempton on his penultimate start; produced his best work late and ran to form last time; trainer in form; suited by 8f to 10f; respected off this mark. In-form 6yo but he's untried at this trip and this looks tough against Mersea Island. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (14/1 0%)Charlie's Choice |
14/1(0%) | (6) Charlie's Choice 14/1, Below form when fourth and beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective from 10f to 12f; needs more off a 1lb higher mark. Won off 5lb higher in February but has mixed record since and others are more solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (12/1 -85%)Veraison |
12/1(-85%) | (7) Veraison 12/1, Scored by 1/2l off 69 at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start; improved again last time; best at 10f to 12f; good chance now back up in trip. Improver who was a clear second in hat-trick bid at Kempton (1m3f) last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/6 +0%)Mersea Island |
5/6(+0%) | (3) Mersea Island 5/6, Improved to win comfortably by 4l off 80 in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; effective from 10f to 14f; major chance under a 6lb penalty despite the drop in trip. Progressive 3yo who won 4l at Wolverhampton last week and is well treated under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 +22%)Educator |
14/1(+22%) | (4) Educator 14/1, Showed little when well beaten from off the pace in a handicap at Southwell latest; returns from a short break; suited by 12f and a sound surface but has lost form recently. C&D winner but he's lost his way and needs to turn things around. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (15/2 +12%)Great Bedwyn |
15/2(+12%) | (1) Great Bedwyn 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; effective from 12f to 14f and acts on any going except very testing; capable off this mark. On dangerous mark but he's not easy to predict and his last three wins have been on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (80/1 -142%)Extra Beat |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Extra Beat 80/1, Showed little when well beaten from off the pace in a handicap here latest; effective from 10f to 12f; could build on his stable debut. Unexposed 4yo but he's struggled in last two runs and needs to get back on track. |

MERSEA ISLAND must shoulder a 6lb penalty for scoring at Wolverhampton last week, but is very difficult to oppose. The penny has dropped now for Charlie Johnston's charge and the three-year-old is taken to continue on an upward trajectory. If the likely favourite fails to fire, then Brasil Power and Veraison will be there to pounce as they're in decent nick too.

This can go to the progressive MERSEA ISLAND who won by 4l at Wolverhampton last week and looks well treated under a penalty.

25/1(-194%) | (3) Ghost Dancing 25/1, Ran well for a long way when fourth, beaten 13l, in a mares' hurdle at Hereford on debut; should improve a little for that initial experience. Beaten 13l having got outpaced at Hereford (good) and she lacks some scope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-157%) | (8) Psychologicaldrama 18/1, Made a promising debut when third, beaten 5l, in a mares' hurdle at Leicester; knew her job first time and should progress a little. Clear at one stage before being reeled in and beaten just under 5l at Leicester. |

66/1(-65%) | (7) Peace Of Amaron 66/1, Outpaced and ran poorly when well beaten in a juvenile hurdle at Hereford on her only start; looks one for further down the line. Fifth of the six runners and beaten 12l in a slowly-run juvenile hurdle at Hereford. |

8th (5) (100/1 -52%)Mya Du Clos |
100/1(-52%) | (5) Mya Du Clos 100/1, Made a modest debut when well beaten in a mares' bumper at Stratford on her only start; hard to recommend. Never threatened in a Stratford bumper for which she went off at 100-1. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (40/1 -60%)Taktics |
40/1(-60%) | (10) Taktics 40/1, Walzertakt filly; dam showed some promise over fences in France; may just need this initial experience. Dam French 2m2f hurdle winner, half-sister to French 2m2f hurdle winner Mercinette. |

Whitletts didn't live up to market expectations when introduced at Warwick last month and punters who keep the faith will be hoping she's improved plenty for it. Similar sentiments apply to Palma Springs, who represents another top yard but could only manage a moderate sixth at Huntingdon. With all that in mind, it could be worth chancing one of the newcomers and STROKE PLAY appeals most.

Nicky Henderson's STROKE PLAY is bred to have a future and she wouldn't need to be anything special to threaten on her debut.

5/1(-11%) | (5) Fine Casting 5/1, Ran to form, getting off the mark over fences landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 117 at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective 2m4f, suited by cut; up 6lb but can go well. Returned to chasing with Bangor win last month and remains on workable mark after 6lb rise. |

FINE CASTING made a successful seasonal/fencing return at Bangor last month and if he's come on for that run, a 6lb rise might not stop him from going in again. Road To Home had looked outpaced before keeping on into third at Doncaster latest and is a real player, as is Knight Of Allen, who can improve on his chasing debut effort.

The pick is ROAD TO HOME, who comes here after keeping on well for third on last month's handicap chase debut at Doncaster.

11/2(+50%) | (2) Lastchancezouloon 11/2, Too keen and finished weakly when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 6/7f and acts on the all-weather. Has a bit to prove. Low-key stable debut last month; perhaps sharper today but others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (4/1 +11%)Chloe's Courage |
4/1(+11%) | (8) Chloe's Courage 4/1, Returned to form in first-time blinkers, winning a Chelmsford handicap by 2 1/2l off 45 with a bit in hand. Effective at 6/8f and acts on the all-weather. A 6lb rise demands more. Blinkers prompted improvement at Chelmsford two weeks ago; respected up 6lb. |

Connections of CHLOE'S COURAGE have found their filly another very winnable opportunity as she bids to confirm the promise of her recent Chelmsford success. Runner-up over C&D three starts ago, the switch to this venue shouldn't be a problem and there might be more improvement in her. Impulse Buy heads the list of dangers from course third Fulford Cross and My Boy Harry.

My Boy Harry and Naval Ensign are high on the list but CHLOE'S COURAGE won decisively last time and can defy the handicapper.

4/1(+0%) | (4) Regal Renaissance 4/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when 60l third in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time; may have found the ground too testing. Effective over 2 1/2m on decent ground; consistent prior to latest run. Stuck in the mud last time; back on her last winning mark and goes well here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (10/3 +58%)Lemoncello |
10/3(+58%) | (1) Lemoncello 10/3, Fell in a handicap chase at Exeter last time when looked a huge threat; effective over 2 1/2m and suited by cut. Well treated on French form and could win soon. He was making some headway when falling three out at Exeter. |

Pep Talking had excuses when attempting to supplement his Wetherby triumph at Wincanton latest and the consistent seven-year-old could bounce back. FOLLOWCATO didn't get far on his chasing debut but he showed a bit more when sent off favourite last time. Should the addition of first-time cheekpieces sharpen him up, winning off this current mark looks well within range. Regal Renaissance is noted too.

Cases can be made for a few of these but DEVON DUDE will probably prove himself well handicapped sooner or later.

10/3(-21%) | (1) Galaxy Star 10/3, Very promising debut when winning by 2l in a mares' bumper at Stratford; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft. Needs more under a penalty but is clearly a promising type. Form of Stratford debut win reads well and she's a key player under a 7lb penalty. |

28/1(-75%) | (7) Roxy Russet 28/1, Passing Glance filly and sister to bumper winner Ronnie Russet, who was useful over 17f. With the trainer in good form, she could make a positive start on debut. Sister to bumper winner Ronnie Russet; no surprise to see a good run on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (6/1 -50%)Saxons Pride |
6/1(-50%) | (8) Saxons Pride 6/1, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 3 1/4l in a Mares' bumper at Huntingdon only start; effective at 2m, acts on G; should have more to offer. Runner-up on last month's debut at Huntingdon; open to improvement; firmly in calculations. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (33/1 -65%)Penny Lawn |
33/1(-65%) | (6) Penny Lawn 33/1, Jack Hobbs filly and half-sister to 2m chase winner Livy's Lad. The yard rarely strikes first time, so others are preferred on debut. Trainer has had a couple of bumper newcomers run well in defeat of late; not ruled out e-w. |

Tom Bellamy rode Galaxy Star to success on her racecourse bow at Stratford but she has more to do under a penalty and stable companion SAXONS PRIDE, who struck the woodwork on her debut, could be the one. There are a number of interesting newcomers, though, including the likes of Lady Litigator and Wait For This, while Roxy Russet might not be out of this either.

Anthony Honeyball has a good record in this race and LADY LITIGATOR is taken to make a winning start to her career.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/1 +60%)Cuban Fiesta |
10/1(+60%) | (3) Cuban Fiesta 10/1, Found little and ran below form when comfortably held in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective at 8f on a sound surface and fairly treated, but needs to bounce back. Just one win from 21 starts and was a remote fifth at Newcastle last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (13/8 +19%)Villalobos |
13/8(+19%) | (1) Villalobos 13/8, Scored by 1 1/2l off 50 here on his penultimate start and improved, albeit having the run of the race last time. Effective from 8f to 10f and now off 1lb lower; acts on the all-weather. Went close in his bid for a C&D double last week and he's 1lb lower here; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (15/2 +58%)Semser |
15/2(+58%) | (2) Semser 15/2, Produced best form of 2025 when beaten 1 1/4l off 54 here last time after a short break. Effective from 7f to 10f and suited by the all-weather; remains on a fair mark. Ended long losing run over C&D in August and two solid efforts have followed; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (50/1 -52%)Straight Back Up |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Straight Back Up 50/1, Showed a bit more up in trip, though didn't stay, when fourth beaten 5l in a Wolverhampton handicap latest. Hood on first time; back from a short break; effective at 7f on a sound surface but stamina remains a concern. Seven-race maiden who has not progressed and she needs a hood to make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (40/1 -21%)Saint Terry |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Saint Terry 40/1, Showed little from off the pace when well beaten in a novice at Salisbury latest. Usually held up and yet to find suitable conditions; difficult to fancy despite this being his handicap debut. Unexposed 4yo but he needs a transformation on handicap debut. |

VILLALOBOS will have plenty of supporters in this handicap finale, and rightly so because he's been in good form at this venue. A C&D winner two starts ago, he's since posted a neck second over the same track and trip so is difficult to get away from. Semser might represent a bit of each-way value and is noted along with Bear To Dream.

It's hard to get away from VILLALOBOS, who was only just caught in his bid for a C&D double last week and is 1lb lower here.

1st (4) (9/2 +18%)Masked Dance |
9/2(+18%) | (4) Masked Dance 9/2, Ran to form when beaten 3l off a mark of 114 at Uttoxeter last time after a short break. Effective at 2 1/2m on good ground; consistent performer and her mark looks about right. Usually gives her running and has been 4l or less away in her last three handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (16/1 +0%)West To The Bridge |
16/1(+0%) | (1) West To The Bridge 16/1, Outpaced and comfortably held by a less exposed rival when contesting a handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Enjoys making the running but is out of form; prefers 2 1/2m on easy ground but has dropped in weights. Veteran but wouldn't be too dismissive with the cheekpieces returning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/2 +38%)Walden |
5/2(+38%) | (6) Walden 5/2, Keen early but quickened well when benefiting from a positive ride at a sharp track, winning a Huntingdon handicap by 1 1/2l off 110 last time. Effective at 2 1/2m on good ground; unexposed in handicaps and at the trip, with form that has been franked and signs of further progress. Had to be game at Huntingdon ten days ago but escapes a penalty for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 -56%)Windsor Blue |
28/1(-56%) | (7) Windsor Blue 28/1, Made mistakes and found little when well held in a Bangor-on-Dee maiden hurdle last time. Effective at 2m5f on good ground but needs to improve to overcome a stiff opening mark. Best run on good ground; conditions could be an issue on this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/1 -69%)Inca De Lafayette |
11/1(-69%) | (2) Inca De Lafayette 11/1, Probably needed the run when beaten 9 1/2l in a Cheltenham handicap hurdle last time. Had been in good form before a long absence; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m on soft or good ground and fairly treated, but may just need this. Did well after his previous wind operation and could feature despite his absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (100/1 -203%)Jet Of Magic |
100/1(-203%) | (3) Jet Of Magic 100/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster last time. Effective from 2m5f to 3m but currently out of form after lay off. Pulled up after a break on recent stable debut (3m) when a 40-1 chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (1/1 +38%)High Tea |
1/1(+38%) | (5) High Tea 1/1, Improved on handicap debut for a ready win, landing a Chepstow handicap by 4l off 105 last time. Trainer in good form; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m on soft ground. The form of his debut run is working out well, and as a 3m point winner he could progress over further. Won decisively enough on his recent handicap debut to earn this 8lb higher mark. |

High Tea impressed when making a successful handicap debut at Chepstow last month and remains of considerable interest despite an 8lb rise, but WALDEN is fancied to complete a hat-trick. On target at Market Rasen in April before following up in a conditional riders' event at Huntingdon on his return, he escapes a penalty and looks sure to have more in the locker. The class-dropping Masked Dance is another to consider.

Recent winners HIGH TEA (nap) and Walden are standout contenders, with the selection no doubt very progressive.

Unexposed 3yo who reappeared with close second at Southwell (1m3f) last month; big player. |

2nd (10) (16/1 -14%)Fiddlers Green |
16/1(-14%) | (10) Fiddlers Green 16/1, Went clear and ran to form but made too much use of when beaten 3 1/4l off 59 at Leicester last time; off a short break; effective 11-12f and acts on all-weather; back in form but has never won off a mark this high. Hard to predict but he won here in July and was third at Leicester last time; in the mix. |

15/2(-15%) | (8) Bownder 15/2, Back below last winning mark and returned to form down in grade, landing a handicap by 1/2l off 65 at Lingfield last time; effective 8-11f and acts on all-weather; remains competitive up 2lb. Bounced back with brave win at Lingfield (1m2f) and she's only 2lb higher here; respected. |

11/1(+21%) | (3) Letmebetheboss 11/1, Scored by 3/4l off 64 at Haydock on penultimate start; forced wide from a poor draw when tenth beaten 77l off 66 last time; off a short break; effective 14-16f and acts on all-weather; in solid form until latest. Four-time winner but was tailed off last time and has something to prove for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (33/1 -230%)Alfred Spero |
33/1(-230%) | (12) Alfred Spero 33/1, Ran to form but possibly made his move a bit soon when beaten 3 1/4l off 55 at Newcastle last time; probably stays 12f and acts on a sound surface; in fair form though his mark demands more. 0-6 but was favourite when third at Newcastle (12.4f) latest; possibilities back in trip. |

6th (2) (5/2 +58%)Hebridean Nomad |
5/2(+58%) | (2) Hebridean Nomad 5/2, Too much to do after meeting trouble when an unlucky 4 1/4l third in a handicap here on latest run; top course trainer; effective around 12f and acts on all-weather; well treated if building on recent revival. Eyecatching third here (1m3f) last time and has possibilities back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (10/1 +9%)Kathleen Mary |
10/1(+9%) | (4) Kathleen Mary 10/1, Met trouble when weakening and ran below form, needing the run when beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time; effective up to 10f and acts on all-weather; still early days and could bounce back though somewhat unreliable. Lightly raced 3yo but she needs to raise her game at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (16/1 -78%)One Cool Dreamer |
16/1(-78%) | (1) One Cool Dreamer 16/1, Disappointing handicap debut when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; effective at 2m and acts on a sound surface; could progress in handicaps. Well held back over hurdles latest but he ran well over C&D on penultimate run; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (50/1 -127%)The Bay Warrior |
50/1(-127%) | (6) The Bay Warrior 50/1, Bit free and had too much to do when running to form, beaten 5l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; suited by 11-12f; generally consistent performer on all-weather these days. Seven AW wins but he's been well held in last three runs and needs to rediscover his spark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (66/1 -100%)Phaedra |
66/1(-100%) | (7) Phaedra 66/1, Taken on up front and found little, finishing down the field in a handicap at Lingfield most recently; effective 11-12f; has a bit to prove on all-weather. Triple turf winner but she's struggled back on AW in last two starts; plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (8/1 +33%)Tatmeen |
8/1(+33%) | (11) Tatmeen 8/1, Poorly placed to challenge and never threatened when beaten 4l off 59 at Lingfield last time; effective 10-12f and acts on all-weather; needs more. Won over C&D in May but he's not gone on from that and others are more persuasive. |

Bownder kept on well to score at Lingfield latest and although he has stamina to prove at this longer trip, the gelding gets on well with Olivia Tubb. Hebridean Nomad was somewhat of an eye-catcher when running on from well off the pace to finish third here recently so must be of interest, but preference is for WESTCOMBE. The unexposed son of Ghaiyyath hit the woodwork at Southwell three weeks ago but is likely to find progress now upped further in distance.

Several have claims but the vote goes to the unexposed 3yo WESTCOMBE (nap), who reappeared with a close second at Southwell last month.

1st (1) (5/6 +44%)Maho Bay |
5/6(+44%) | (1) Maho Bay 5/6, Yard won this last year; 2 Apr; Dubawi colt; half-brother to Cavallo Bay, very useful at 8f; dam high-class at 8f at 2yo; top trainer in form; likely type. Top trainer is an impressive 18-39 with 2yos in AW novices/maidens this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 +50%)Veritable |
9/2(+50%) | (4) Veritable 9/2, Outpaced but improved from his debut when 11l third in a novice at Redcar last time. Returning from a short break, effective at 9f, with a very nice pedigree and likely to prove better than he has shown so far. A surprise if one of the newcomers wasn't up to beating him. |

3/1(-33%) | (3) Outflank 3/1, 17 Feb; 750,000gns Churchill gelding; half-brother to Royal Scotsman, high-class at 8f; dam smart from 7f to 8f; could contend. 750,000gns yearling; top yard 16-43 with 2yos in AW novices/maidens this year. |

20/1(-233%) | (5) Kindly Queen 20/1, 14 Jan; Nathaniel filly; dam related to multiple Group 1 winner Al Kazeen; top trainer; of interest. Sole filly taking on the boys; top trainer 11-42 with 2yos in AW novices/maidens this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/1 -69%)Mythical Valentine |
11/1(-69%) | (2) Mythical Valentine 11/1, Green and outpaced when beaten 6 1/4l in a maiden here on debut. Bred to be suited by middle distances and should appreciate this longer trip. Acts on the all-weather and expected to improve significantly for the experience, as most from the yard do. Backed from 15-2 into 100-30 but could manage only ninth on debut over 1m here. |

Charlie Appleby landed the corresponding event 12 months ago and so Dubawi colt Maho Bay merits the utmost respect ahead of his debut, but the well-bred OUTFLANK could be useful. A 750,000gns purchase, he is related to a couple of classy individuals, including 2000 Guineas third Royal Scotsman, and could be up to making a winning start. Mythical Valentine can chase the pair home.

Choosing between Maho Bay and OUTFLANK isn't easy but narrow preference is for the Wathnan runner who cost 750,000gns as a yearling.

10/1(-43%) | (2) Just Jump 10/1, Flattened out after refusing to settle when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time; wide draw; effective at 6-7f and acts on all-weather; inconsistent. 0-11 on AW, one of his better efforts when fourth over C&D on penultimate start. |

15/2(+17%) | (6) Steel Magnolia 15/2, Had every chance but a bit below form when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap here last time; effective at 5/6f though yet to show best on all-weather. 11-race maiden, appears held by several of these on recent form, needs to raise her game. |

Below-par over 6f here last week, the balance of her recent form suggests she can feature. |

40/1(-60%) | (9) Carmina Burana 40/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; wide draw; effective at 5/6f and acts on all-weather; faces another tough task. Needs to reverse recent form with Hasiyna, Turn Up The Beat and Just Jump, up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (25/1 +38%)Gimmieminnie |
25/1(+38%) | (10) Gimmieminnie 25/1, Did plenty early after being rushed up having missed the break when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on all-weather; exposed maiden who is not one to rely on. Career-best when long-priced second of 17 at Navan in October, has failed to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (40/1 +39%)She's A Gift |
40/1(+39%) | (13) She's A Gift 40/1, Did too much too soon when beaten 10l in a maiden here last time; yet to show anything of note over 5-7f; poor maiden with blinkers removed. In rear in C&D handicap in which Hasiyna and Lismacbryan Hill made the frame in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (16/1 0%)Phil's Dream |
16/1(0%) | (7) Phil's Dream 16/1, No obvious excuse when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time; off a long absence; wide draw; effective at 5-6f and best on all-weather; form has tailed off. Enjoyed an excellent spell here early last year, lost form and has been off for 13 months. |

HERO OF THE HOUR has been running consistently well recently and it is hoped today's rider's 10lb claim might turn things in his favour. A seven-time winner, the selection struck at Down Royal in July and while he finished behind winner Lismacbryan Hill here last month, he is effectively 17lb better off when taking rider's claims into account. Hasiyna goes well on the all-weather and while she finished seventh in that aforementioned contest, she was only beaten a head over C&D next time.

A slow starter over C&D last month on his first run after a break, TURN UP THE BEAT may now reverse form with Hasiyna

1st (4) (4/5 +0%)Golden View |
4/5(+0%) | (4) Golden View 4/5, 7 May; Dubawi colt; dam high-class from 7f to 8f winning Group 3 in Germany; trainer in form; top trainer. Well-related newcomer and yard is 38% with 2yos this year; needs a close look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/10 +27%)Aqpan |
11/10(+27%) | (1) Aqpan 11/10, Ran green under pressure but finished well when runner-up, beaten 2l in a novice here on debut. By a sprint sire and should stay at least 7f; expected to improve markedly. 400,000gns yearling; second on C&D debut two weeks and sets useful standard on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (100/1 +60%)Cincinnati Gold |
100/1(+60%) | (3) Cincinnati Gold 100/1, Very green and not persevered with when well beaten in a novice here on debut. Speedily bred and likely to prefer sound surfaces; showed little first time but open to significant improvement. Has useful pedigree but he was tailed off at a big price on his debut here two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (66/1 -65%)Rajbello |
66/1(-65%) | (7) Rajbello 66/1, Ran to a similar level to debut when given a considerate ride, beaten 7l in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time. Bred for further and should improve. Well-held seventh on C&D debut last month and same outcome at Wolverhampton last Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (40/1 -21%)Central Command |
40/1(-21%) | (2) Central Command 40/1, Out-kicked late but improved when comfortably held in a novice here last time. Has a wide draw and stays at least 7f; still a fair performer with more to come. Well held in two runs over C&D and was around 9l behind Aqpan two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 -12%)Red Moon |
28/1(-12%) | (8) Red Moon 28/1, 21 Mar; £40,000 Twilight Son gelding; half-brother to Best Rate, very useful at 7f; dam very useful at 6f; stable runs a couple; market can guide. £40,000 yearling; one of two newcomers for yard and market should guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (20/1 -25%)Queen Of The Night |
20/1(-25%) | (9) Queen Of The Night 20/1, 10 Feb; 75,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Code Of Honor; bred to be suited by this surface; hood first time; wide draw. 75,000euros breeze-up 2yo; hood is applied on debut and this looks a tough starting point. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (22/1 -10%)Nicolai |
22/1(-10%) | (5) Nicolai 22/1, 12 Apr; Sergei Prokofiev gelding; dam's side suggests surface will suit; worth a market check. Plenty to like on paper and he needs watching in market on debut. |

As is typically the case with Charlie Appleby's newcomers at this venue, Golden View is sure to have his supporters. The youngster wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to have a say, but AQPAN looks to have a good chance. Runner-up over C&D on his debut recently, despite appearing to need the experience, he should be much more streetwise. Jack Channon saddles two, of which Nicolai could be the yard's main hope.

This looks a decent opportunity for AQPAN, who sets a useful standard on his debut second over C&D two weeks ago.

7/2(+0%) | (1) Coincidental Glory 7/2, Ran to form when close to a fast pace, beaten 1 1/4l off 72 here last time. Effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; on a competitive mark. Weighted to reverse form with Dont Get Me Wrong, 7lb claim will help, high draw a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (6/1 +57%)Apiary |
6/1(+57%) | (8) Apiary 6/1, Had every chance but below form when beaten 4l in a claimer here last time. Speed in pedigree; fair mark on maiden form but needs to prove effectiveness on all-weather. Not beaten far in a C&D claimer on her third outing, jockey booking is a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/4 +39%)Pints In Peace |
11/4(+39%) | (2) Pints In Peace 11/4, Back to form down in class when beaten 3l off 72 here last time. Cheekpieces first time; effective at 5-8f but inconsistent in a short career. Faces a renewal of rivalry with Badger's Cove and Manifest Destiny, shorter trip may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (12/1 -20%)Iff In Doubt |
12/1(-20%) | (11) Iff In Doubt 12/1, Returned to form down in class when beaten 2l off 56 here last time. Bred to sprint but stays 7f and acts on all-weather; gelded in autumn, well treated up 2lb, remains competitive. Much improved for this rider when keeping on for third over C&D, high draw is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (16/1 -14%)Lumiere Des Etoile |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Lumiere Des Etoile 16/1, Improved a little when fourth, beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden here latest. Effective at 5-6f; stamina to prove and opening mark no gimme. Started with a satisfactory 6f run on turf, yet to build on that but still early days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (8/1 0%)Badger's Cove |
8/1(0%) | (6) Badger's Cove 8/1, Scored by 2 1/2l off 61 here three starts back. Went too fast early when eighth, beaten 6l off 66 last time. Effective at 7/8f and acts on all-weather; settling may have become an issue. Unplaced in two outings since beating Manifest Destiny over 1m here, a bit to prove now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (33/1 -230%)Another Day Done |
33/1(-230%) | (5) Another Day Done 33/1, Too slow to get involved and may need further when down the field in a maiden here most recently. Top course trainer; usually held up; probably wants at least 1m+, acts on all-weather; big colt with a fast-ground action and 10f pedigree. The first of his three C&D runs was his best, hard to assess but unwise to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (11/2 +8%)Dont Get Me Wrong |
11/2(+8%) | (3) Dont Get Me Wrong 11/2, Ran to form up in trip when winning a claimer here by 1/2l last time. Effective at 6-7f and acts on all-weather; unexposed at 7f and looks well treated now tackling handicaps. Beat Coincidental Glory in a C&D claimer, may struggle to uphold form on these terms.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (28/1 -12%)Tariff |
28/1(-12%) | (13) Tariff 28/1, Never really showed when down the field in a maiden here most recently. Usually held up; should be effective around 7/8f; looks moderate. Hard to find any positives in his form, stablemate Coincedental Glory has shown ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (6/1 +40%)Manifest Destiny |
6/1(+40%) | (7) Manifest Destiny 6/1, Bit below form when beaten 4l in a claimer here last time; had been in good form prior. Effective at 7/8f and acts on all-weather; consistent until latest. Second to Badger's Cove over 1m before fifth behind Dont Get Me Wrong on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (25/1 -56%)Wingit |
25/1(-56%) | (12) Wingit 25/1, Forced to switch, never threatened but saw out the trip when beaten 7l in a nursery here last time. Cheekpieces first time; effective at 7-8f and acts on all-weather; handicapper has relented but needs a bit more. Mild encouragement from her most recent run, addition of cheekpieces may help her cause. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (14) (66/1 -100%)Hello Isla |
66/1(-100%) | (14) Hello Isla 66/1, Outpaced and never threatened, beaten 10l in a nursery here last time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on all-weather; needs more from this mark for new yard. Placed in two 5f AW nurseries in Britain, never in the hunt over 5f here on Irish debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (33/1 +18%)California Baby |
33/1(+18%) | (9) California Baby 33/1, Blinkered but poor again in second handicap, beaten 7l in a nursery here last time. Effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; has looked to be on a stiff mark. Weak maiden form, failed to make much impact in first-time blinkers in her first nursery. |

COINCIDENTAL GLORY is a nine-race maiden but there have been more encouraging signs of late and he is fancied to defy top weight. Well suited by this surface, the selection has finished ahead of plenty of today's rivals already and while second to Dont Get Me Wrong in a claimer here last month, he can reverse the form on considerably better terms. Pints In Peace ran well on his recent all-weather debut last month, and Manifest Destiny is another to consider.

it could pay to side with PINTS IN PEACE who may do better over this trip than the extra furlong he tackled last time

9/1(+10%) | (7) El Bodon 9/1, Had every chance and ran to form when fourth, beaten 5 1/4l in a Chester handicap last time. Returning from a break; effective at 6-7f and suited by cut, though his form is in and out with a poor strike rate. Not so effective last two starts and needs a spark back on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (13/2 -117%)Coul Angel |
13/2(-117%) | (5) Coul Angel 13/2, Ran to form to defy a career-high mark when landing a Sprint Handicap by a neck off 90 last time. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather. In good form but faces a tougher task from a revised mark. Made it 3-3 over C&D and 3-3 under Robert Havlin when beating Heathcliff six weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (4/1 +20%)Heathcliff |
4/1(+20%) | (9) Heathcliff 4/1, Ran to form when beaten a neck off 90 here last time. Effective at 6-7f and acts on all-weather. His mark remains high enough but he boasts a good course record. Solid option given course form; closely matched with Coul Angel on latest running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 -14%)Berkshire Whisper |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Berkshire Whisper 4/1, Raced freely, quickened and was caught on the post, improving back from a break when beaten a neck off 98 at Southwell last time. From a top course trainer; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather. Unexposed and remains competitive. Has done nothing wrong so far and will rightly be popular. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/3 +44%)So Darn Hot |
10/3(+44%) | (2) So Darn Hot 10/3, Ran to form when flattening out late back from a break, beaten 3l off 100 at Wolverhampton last time. Trainer in form; effective at 6f and acts on all-weather. Hugely progressive type who should come on for that run. Major claims if building on pleasing stable debut back sprinting from handy draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (40/1 -100%)Granger Bay |
40/1(-100%) | (8) Granger Bay 40/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a Newmarket handicap most recently. In good form prior; hood on for the first time and returns after a long absence. Effective at 7f though surface and trip are potential concerns. Can only watch given absence and new variables. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (28/1 -40%)Bolo Neighs |
28/1(-40%) | (4) Bolo Neighs 28/1, Never threatened after missing the break and needed the run when beaten 3l off 97 at Southwell last time. Effective at 6f; needs to build on that reappearance as his mark still looks high. Looked rusty when behind two of these on AW debut but rather watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/2 +44%)Hucklesbrook |
9/2(+44%) | (6) Hucklesbrook 9/2, Too free in front but still ran to form when beaten 2l off 93 at Southwell last time. Effective at 6f and acts on all-weather. Has a chance if able to build on that return to form. Could be highly competitive if not hassled at the head of affairs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (40/1 +0%)Media Shooter |
40/1(+0%) | (11) Media Shooter 40/1, Keen and probably needed the run when down the field in a Newcastle handicap last time. In good form prior; effective at 6-7f and acts on a sound surface. All wins have come in lower grades. Has joined James Owen but was trained by another top operator in Karl Burke before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (16/1 +20%)Purest Time |
16/1(+20%) | (10) Purest Time 16/1, Ran to form when 5l third in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather. Respected off an unchanged mark. 0-8 in Britain/for Ian Williams but managed second three times; could be poised to strike. |

The progressive Coul Angel completed a C&D double when repelling the challenge of Heathcliff (second) latest but, while the pair should be closely matched again, BERKSHIRE WHISPER could be the value. Andrew Balding's charge, thought highly enough of to contest the Commonwealth Cup back in June, returned to action with a narrow second at Southwell three weeks ago and could be competitively treated off 1lb higher. Others to note include El Bodon and So Darn Hot.

The progressive Berkshire Whisper is feared but SO DARN HOT is fancied to win more races back sprinting for his new yard.

6/5(+31%) | (4) Instant Appeal 6/5, Quickened clear readily and improved when landing a handicap by a length off 83 over 8f here last time. Effective from 7f to 9f and acts on good and all-weather surfaces. Progressive and should remain competitive despite a 5lb rise. Has gone up an aggregate 13lb for two 1m wins here, could still be well enough handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/1 -57%)Big Gossey |
11/1(-57%) | (1) Big Gossey 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l in the RFL Steels Stakes (Listed) at Naas last time. Off a short break. Effective from 5f to 7f and acts on soft, good and all-weather surfaces. Admirably consistent veteran at handicap, Listed and Group level, goes well at the Curragh. Veteran Curragh specialist, also effective on AW, excellent handicap run three starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (7/2 -17%)Dark Ace |
7/2(-17%) | (10) Dark Ace 7/2, Stable has won the last two runnings of this race. Scored by 1/2l off 74 at Navan three starts ago and had too much to do when meeting trouble, finishing fourth beaten 2l off 79 last time. Effective over 5f to 6f and best on all-weather. In good form. Two C&D wins over 6f, won over 5f on turf in October, holding his form at this venue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (22/1 -144%)Apache Outlaw |
22/1(-144%) | (2) Apache Outlaw 22/1, Won this race in 2023 and 2024. Up in trip and didn't stay when well beaten in a handicap here last time. Effective from 5f to 7f and acts on good and all-weather surfaces but remains inconsistent. Winner of this race in 2023 and again last year, should not be left out of calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/1(-10%) | (7) Howyoulikethat 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 86 here last time. Effective at 8f and acts on good and all-weather surfaces. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 +10%)Exquisite Acclaim |
18/1(+10%) | (6) Exquisite Acclaim 18/1, Stable has won the last two runnings of this race. Every chance and ran to form when fourth, beaten 5l, in a handicap here last time. Suited by 7f to 8f and best recent efforts on all-weather. Needs more off this mark. Won twice here at the start of the year, fair fourth behind Instant Appeal last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (25/1 -25%)The Liffey |
25/1(-25%) | (3) The Liffey 25/1, Showed signs of revival down in grade wearing first-time blinkers when fourth, beaten 2l, in a Conditions Race at Tipperary last time. Returning from a break. Effective from 7f to 8f on good ground but needs to build on that effort. Won twice for Aidan O'Brien, highly tried by Joseph O'Brien, cheap addition to this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (100/1 -100%)Musical Act |
100/1(-100%) | (5) Musical Act 100/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap here last time. Effective over 8f to 9f and acts on sound surfaces. Formerly Listed-placed in the US for Godolphin and on a fair mark if bouncing back but struggling for new yard. Won two Kempton AW novice events at two; has failed to shine in two races for this stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (16/1 +11%)Mehman |
16/1(+11%) | (9) Mehman 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 81 here last time. Effective from 6f to 7f and acts on good and all-weather surfaces. Still 4lb above his last winning mark. Four-time course winner, needs to reverse last Friday's form with Dark Ace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (5/1 +38%)Flaming Rib |
5/1(+38%) | (8) Flaming Rib 5/1, Stable has won the last two runnings of this race. Back to form down in class when fourth, beaten 1/4l, in a Rated Race here last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Suited by 6f to 7f and acts on any surface. Needs to build on recent revival. Former top-class sprinter, second in 2022 Commonwealth Cup, last month's run offers hope. |

INSTANT APPEAL has turned a corner of late and can complete a hat-trick. Runner-up to a subsequent Beresford Stakes winner on debut, the selection then finished third behind City Of Troy and smart performer Galen in another juvenile maiden before scoring at the third attempt. He missed 581 days prior to returning in April this year but has looked a different animal since switching to the all-weather in October. Howyoulikethat and Exquisite Acclaim finished third and fourth respectively behind the selection last time, while bottom weight Dark Ace tackles 7f for the first time since his debut.

There could be more to come from INSTANT APPEAL (nap who was a useful juvenile and seems to have found his vocation on this surface.

5/4(+44%) | (2) Shader 5/4, Did plenty early after being rushed up having missed the break, ran to form when second beaten a length in the Churchill Stakes (Listed) at Southwell latest. Best at 12f and acts on AW; improving fast with a bit more to come. Not sure he enjoyed making the running when beaten a length by Dubai Honour last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 -82%)Dubai Honour |
5/2(-82%) | (1) Dubai Honour 5/2, Winner of three Group 1s; ran to form benefitting from a drop in class when winning the Churchill Stakes (Listed) at Southwell by a length last time. Effective from 10–12f and a Listed winner on AW; strong chance despite a penalty. Sound claims if this pans out as favourably as last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/4 +22%)Ancient Wisdom |
7/4(+22%) | (3) Ancient Wisdom 7/4, Travelled well but was out-battled late, running to form when second beaten 2 1/2l in the St Simon Stakes (Group 3) at Newbury latest. Off a short break; effective from 10–13f and likely to go well if handling the surface. Group 1 winner at two but is unpenalised here; fascinating contender on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (40/1 -60%)Claymore |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Claymore 40/1, Yard won this last year; ran to form but was probably a bit flattered when second beaten 2 1/2l in a Group 3 at Bro Park latest. Returning from a break; effective from 10–12f, generally consistent but looks vulnerable at this level. Won/highly competitive in relatively minor European races of late; much more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (250/1 +0%)Lion City |
250/1(+0%) | (5) Lion City 250/1, Far too free when upped in grade and needed the run, finishing down the field in the Three Counties Christmas Open NH Flat Race (Listed) at Cheltenham most recently. Faces a stiff task here. Readily passed over on Flat debut (he managed a win in bumpers). |

A small but talented field head to post for the feature, in which the reliable DUBAI HONOUR can show his class once again. William Haggas' globetrotting seven-year-old accounted for the exciting Shader, who reopposes, at Southwell last month and it's hard to envisage that form being reversed. Ancient Wisdom has twice filled the runner-up spot since returning in September and, on official ratings at least, he is the main danger.

A Wednesday treat with a pair of Group 1 winners taking on a highly progressive Gosden runner. SHADER can get back to winning ways.

7/2(-5%) | (9) Profit Surge 7/2, Ran to form when beaten 1/2l off 49 here last time. Trainer in form; effective at 7/8f. Consistent maiden whose latest form has been franked. Promising stable debut when 2nd back from break latest; entitled to improve and good draw. |

4/1(+43%) | (10) Beat The Devil 4/1, Made late headway and ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off 49 here last time. Effective at 7/8f and respected off the same mark as latest. Third place last two times over 1m; worth a go at 7f; in the mix. |

22/1(-10%) | (14) Desert Of The Sea 22/1, A bit too free when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 8-10f but has looked awkward and remains unproven on this surface. Nothing of note in 6 runs for current yard; well beaten on AW debut latest. |

6/1(+25%) | (7) Rock Basher 6/1, Up in trip and didn't get home, beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Effective 7-10f and inconsistent maiden, though on a fair mark on best recent form. Winless from 19 starts; took fifth in C&D claimer here on penultimate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (28/1 -75%)Marbush |

12th (5) (15/2 +17%)Bamako |
15/2(+17%) | (5) Bamako 15/2, No obvious excuse when beaten 6l in a handicap here last time. In good form prior; effective at 7f. Fair mark on summer form, but unreliable. 3yo placed twice in turf m'dens this year; was 6l behind Lahore Da King here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (4) (80/1 -60%)Brosna Green |
80/1(-60%) | (4) Brosna Green 80/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 7f, yet to convince with stamina for 1m. Out of form. Has looked regressive in five starts for current yard; well beaten at 100-1 here last time. |

14th (8) (15/2 +25%)Jazzy Dancer |
15/2(+25%) | (8) Jazzy Dancer 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 54 here last time. Enjoys making it; effective at 6/7f and suited by this surface. Considered on recent efforts. Two-time course winner at 6f; 10lb below last win; not beaten far on his last two runs. |

PROFIT SURGE made a promising stable debut when second over 1m here and could go one better. That was her first run for almost seven months and she kept the winner honest in going down by half a length. The handicapper nudged her up 3lb, but that has been offset by the booking of Jack Kearney. Jazzy Dancer's three career victories came over shorter trips, but he has plenty of placed form over 7f and wasn't beaten far in his last couple of starts here. Lahore Da King won over C&D last week but a 7lb rise asks questions, while Beat The Devil has a tough draw, although his two recent thirds give him claims.

Most appealing is PROFIT SURGE after going close back from a break on stable debut over 1m here earlier this month.

6/1(-20%) | (1) Unassuming 6/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 83 at Wolverhampton three starts back; travelled well and just failed when second beaten a nose off 88 last time; wide draw; effective 7-9f, acts on sound surface; hugely progressive and latest form franked. Of significant interest given she shaped best when trying to make it 6-16 last time. |

13/2(+54%) | (7) Plantadream 13/2, Too much to do but returned to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 85 here last time; suited by 8f, acts on AW; poor strike rate but well treated if building on latest. Decent third over C&D latest but looks opposable given all wins were achieved in 2020. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (13/2 -8%)Angel Hunter |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Angel Hunter 13/2, Yard won this last year; ran to best landing a handicap by a nose off 89 at Southwell last time; suited by 6-8f, acts on AW; respected up 2lb. Forced a dead heat on AW debut last time; he's just 2lb higher here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (12/1 +14%)Echalar |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Echalar 12/1, Bit too free when fourth beaten 3 1/2l in a novice at Newcastle latest; hood first time; effective at 7/8f, acts on AW; inconsistent in short career. Latest effort not worth dwelling/looks best judged on course run the time before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (12/1 +33%)Bravo Zulu |
12/1(+33%) | (5) Bravo Zulu 12/1, Quickly returned to form down in grade beaten 2l off 77 at Windsor last time; returning from a break; effective 7-8f on sound surface; struggles when upped to class 3. Definite claims of making it 6-6 when partnered by Rossa Ryan if fully tuned up. |

UNITING is in really good nick at the moment and is a three-year-old open to stacks more improvement. A winner over C&D two starts ago, he was then just as impressive when completing a double at Newcastle latest, and Ian Williams' gelding is taken to round out the hat-trick in style. Final Night is another in-form three-year-old to note and he's well drawn, while Carron is also respected.

Having recorded another personal best when unlucky not to make it 6-16 last time, George Boughey's UNASSUMING is the pick.

125/1(-89%) | (8) Timetravel 125/1, Made no show after a poor start when well beaten in a maiden here on only start; blinkers first time; middle-distance bred and may do better. Tailed off on debut over C&D last week; blinkered now but hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (250/1 -150%)Doitforjill Ronnie |
250/1(-150%) | (4) Doitforjill Ronnie 250/1, Outpaced and unsuited by the drop in trip when beaten 6l in a nursery here last time; yet to find suitable conditions; longer trip should suit but needs more. Poor m'den form and midfield in opening two h'caps at this venue; unlikely. |

EVENING BLUES sets the standard with a rating of 86 and Nicola Burns takes 5lb off his back. He came out on the right side of a battle in a maiden over C&D and the form received a good boost when the third home landed a maiden by two lengths on his next outing. Alissam popped up at a big price on debut over 7f at this venue and although a beaten favourite in third on his following start, that was a decent contest. Divelment has shown enough on turf to warrant an interest on his Polytrack debut. Joseph O'Brien runs two newcomers in Electric Night and Porter and they both merit a market check.

Off the mark over C&D last time, EVENING BLUES is selected to follow up with Nicola Burns negating the penalty he carries for that win

Wide draw; effective at 8-10f and acts on the all-weather; handicapper easing but form remains poor. 12-race maiden; 8th of ten (btn 14l) over C&D just over a fortnight ago; focus elsewhere.. |

MAID IN CHELSEA posted an improved effort to take third over 7f at Lingfield latest, where she kept on well, suggesting the return to a mile ought to suit. Super Hit would be no surprise winner judged on his last couple of efforts, not least because those recent performances have come at this venue, while it's also worth keeping an eye on Rhythm N Rock.

The suggestion is LUMINOUS WARRIOR. Although yet to win (0-8), he's easing slowly in the weights and has Sean Levey back in the saddle.

8/13(+79%) | (5) Square Necker 8/13, Small type who was far from knocked about on an excellent debut, finishing a close third beaten 3/4l in a Doncaster maiden. Returning from a long layoff and sure to do better but may just need this outing. Eyecatching debut at Doncaster in March when green but 0.75l behind now 104-rated rival. |

Effective from 12f to 14f and acts on all-weather. Sets the standard and looks tough to beat dropping in grade. Rating of 93 makes her the standout in the field; third in a Listed contest on penultimate. |

40/1(-60%) | (9) Killyclogher Rose 40/1, Stable won this race last year. Raced too freely and ran well to a point when well beaten in a maiden here on sole start. Effective over 12f and acts on all-weather. Can improve if settling better but must do so. Finished 15l behind in a modest 1m4f maiden here last month; big improvement needed. |

5th (2) (50/1 +50%)Kidam Roque |
50/1(+50%) | (2) Kidam Roque 50/1, Probably needed the run when finishing down the field in a bumper at Clonmel last time. Wears a hood for the first time and has plenty to find here. Hard to fancy following moderate efforts in opening two bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 +45%)Stable Lane |
22/1(+45%) | (6) Stable Lane 22/1, Showed minor promise when beaten 6l in a maiden here on debut. Effective over 12f and acts on all-weather. Should improve somewhat for that initial experience. Sent off 100-1 for debut over C&D but outran odds with a 5.75l sixth; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (9/1 +36%)Padre Bay |
9/1(+36%) | (3) Padre Bay 9/1, Produced similar form to debut when beaten 6l in a Doncaster maiden last time in cheekpieces and down in trip. Visor on for the first time. Returning from a long layoff and the step back up to 12f should suit on stable debut. Finished 5.25l behind Square Necker in a Doncaster m'den last time; needs more. |

8th (11) (80/1 +20%)Powerful Rosie |
80/1(+20%) | (11) Powerful Rosie 80/1, Missed the break and never threatened when well beaten in a maiden here latest. Acts on all-weather but looks hard to fancy on that evidence. Soundly beaten in both hurdle outings and 17l behind on Flat debut last time. |

9th (7) (150/1 -20%)Tell Me This |
150/1(-20%) | (7) Tell Me This 150/1, Had no obvious excuse when down the field in a claimer here last time. Yet to find suitable conditions and although a hurdler who may do better in handicaps later, she has shown little on the Flat so far. Maiden hurdle winner has been well beaten in her opening two runs here; unlikely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (125/1 +17%)Celtic Priestess |
125/1(+17%) | (8) Celtic Priestess 125/1, Has shown no worthwhile form to date. Wears a hood for the first time and bred for trips around 8-10f. Needs to show much more before becoming of interest. Beaten very few in opening three m'dens here at huge prices; impossible to fancy. |

NUIT has been keeping good company courtesy of her mark of 93. She has Polytrack experience and is proven over this trip, so should be right on the premises in this bid for a breakthrough success. Daddy Long Legs is an intriguing contender as a runner-up in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown in February. He came home in third in his only race on the Flat when last seen at Ballinrobe in May and the winner has emphatically franked the form since. Square Necker is an interesting recruit for Robson De Aguiar. His sole race in Britain for Ralph Beckett saw him finish a close third over a shorter trip at Doncaster and the form has worked out very well.

After finishing less than a length behind a now 104-rated rival on debut, SQUARE NECKER is selected to get off the mark

5/2(+9%) | (9) Vitalline 5/2, Never got a clear run, finished full of running and unlucky when beaten 3 1/4l off 46 at Chelmsford last time; effective at 6-7f and suited by the all-weather; capable off this mark. Again shaped better than bare result suggests latest; more than capable of taking this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (20/1 -11%)Hint Of The Jungle |
20/1(-11%) | (5) Hint Of The Jungle 20/1, Taken on up front and did plenty early when beaten 8l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; had been in good form prior; effective at 5-6f on a sound surface; unreliable these days. Looks opposable on first spin here given what he did at Wolverhampton the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (20/1 +39%)Haziym |
20/1(+39%) | (3) Haziym 20/1, Had too much to do after blowing the start and was beaten 10l in a handicap at Southwell last time; usually held up; effective at 6f and acts on a sound surface; regressive since moving from France with slow starts a continuing issue. Doesn't look the easiest ride and no real sign he's about to cash in on plummeting mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 +10%)Gilt Edge |
9/1(+10%) | (1) Gilt Edge 9/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a mark of 51 at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start; a bit below form when third beaten 4l off 55 last time having been taken on up front; suited by 6/7f and acts on a sound surface; form inconsistent of late. Plenty to recommend but she's yet to really do it on Polytrack. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/2 +10%)Smasher |
9/2(+10%) | (2) Smasher 9/2, Scored by a neck off 53 here in October; did plenty early when ninth beaten 7l off 55 last time; effective at 6f and acts on the all-weather; generally consistent until latest run. Refused to settle for his 7lb claimer last time; could easily bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/2 +25%)Valadero |
9/2(+25%) | (6) Valadero 9/2, No obvious excuse when finishing down the field in a handicap at Chelmsford most recently; returns from a short break; effective at 6/7f on the all-weather; mark workable but attitude becoming a concern. Brian Toomey has had a couple of 12-1 winners of late; this one could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (10/3 -11%)Beau Jardine |
10/3(-11%) | (7) Beau Jardine 10/3, Met trouble late when beaten 1 1/2l off 51 here last time; effective from 6-8f and acts on any surface; showing signs of better form though his losing run continues to mount. Beaten a neck by Smasher in October and not beaten far into fifth last week (both C&D). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (66/1 -65%)Tilsworth Ony Ta |
66/1(-65%) | (11) Tilsworth Ony Ta 66/1, Never got a run when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time; returns from a short break; effective at 5-6f and acts on the all-weather; regressive. Things didn't go his way last time but excuses are wearing thin. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (40/1 -82%)Voodoo Ray |
40/1(-82%) | (10) Voodoo Ray 40/1, Ran to current form when fourth beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Bath last time; enjoys making the running; effective at 6/7f and suited by a sound surface; regressive overall. Doubt he can make it ninth-time lucky on AW given current form; no headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (25/1 -108%)Master Dandy |
25/1(-108%) | (4) Master Dandy 25/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 8l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; suited by 6f and acts on the all-weather; below his best form recently. Uncompetitive of late and connections are experimenting with headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (20/1 +20%)World Of Darcy |
20/1(+20%) | (8) World Of Darcy 20/1, Had every chance when beaten 6l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; trainer in form; suited by 6f and acts on the all-weather; remains badly out of form. Arrives here badly out of sorts and is yet to place on AW. |

GILT EDGE was sent off a big price at Wolverhampton last time out, when you consider she'd won impressively there the time before, and she outran odds of 14/1 to take third in what looked a decent handicap for the grade. She is clearly on good terms with herself at present and gets the vote ahead of Smasher and Beau Jardine.

Trappy. BEAU JARDINE could be the answer if he's held onto a little longer than when a close fifth over C&D last week.

8th (8) (13/2 -8%)Sierra De Gredos |
13/2(-8%) | (8) Sierra De Gredos 13/2, Scored by 1 1/4l off 57 here in September. Had too much to do after meeting trouble when seventh, beaten 4 1/2l off 67 last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (20/1 +39%)Selective Power |
20/1(+39%) | (7) Selective Power 20/1, Ran to form but flattened out late up in trip when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 7f to 8f but inconsistent, with stamina concerns off what looks a stiff mark. All four wins came over shorter and made no impression over C&D last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (22/1 -57%)Stormie Outlook |
22/1(-57%) | (10) Stormie Outlook 22/1, Ran to form when just flattening out late up in trip when fourth, beaten 1 1/4l in a claimer here last time. Effective from 8f to 12f and acts on the all-weather. Needs more to end a long losing run. Two-time 1m turf winner but winless from seven on AW; ran okay in claimer here last week. |

14th (12) (50/1 -25%)Toy Soldier |
50/1(-25%) | (12) Toy Soldier 50/1, Never threatened when down the field in a handicap at Gowran Park last time. Usually held up and returns from a short break. Suited by 7f, acts on any surface though unproven on the all-weather; claiming win yet to be backed up in handicaps. Dual British 7f winner but below form in four starts for this yard; best watched for now. |

OZARK DAZE attracted support on his latest run when finishing a close-up second over C&D. He competes off 6lb lower with Julian Pietropaolo's 7lb claim factored in, so appeals in a deep race. Soaring Sun is a handicap debutant to note after being placed in two maidens over this trip here. Benavente won a claimer over further last week and should be very effective off a mark of 58 with Reese Holohan's 10lb claim factored in. Sierra De Gredos is up in trip after switching to Stephen Thorne's stable, while Stormie Outlook and Queen Aethelflaed are others to consider. First reserve Porsche Lad would be dangerous if getting a run.

A chance is taken on Frankel filly METAMORPHIC who may be capable of better than her fifth on handicap debut over C&D last time

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (20/1 -43%)Mintana |
20/1(-43%) | (6) Mintana 20/1, Forced to switch and had too much to do when beaten 2 1/4l off 52 at Wolverhampton last time. Wide draw. Effective at 5f and 6f and acts well on the all-weather. 12/1(+40%) | (9) Ya Rayah 12/1, Looked to want further when beaten 6 1/2l in a Chelmsford handicap last time. Wide draw. Prefers 8f and acts on the all-weather. Out of form and hard to fancy. 12-race maiden and he needs a transformation on this drop to 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (40/1 +0%)Miss Moonshine |
40/1(+0%) | (8) Miss Moonshine 40/1, Below form when down the field in a Wolverhampton handicap most recently. Wide draw. Effective at 6f and acts on the all-weather. Inconsistent when last seen in the spring. Her last win was in March 2024 and has something to prove on her return after wind surgery. |

Sporting cheekpieces for the first time, MISTER SANDMAN can send his supporters home smiling in the finale. The Gary and Josh Moore yard are in good form at the moment and this gelding will be winning sooner rather than later judged on recent efforts at Bath and Chelmsford. Of the others, Up The Monk will be fancied by many to at least hit the frame, likewise Mintana.

Preference is for CHASING GOLD who caught the eye with his strong finish over 5f on Monday. Mister Sandman is feared most.
Ths is the racecard key.
