1st (9) (11/10 +51%)Largy Force |
11/10(+51%) | (9) Largy Force 11/10, Ran to form on reappearance when beaten 3/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Warwick last time. Usually held up, effective around 2m4f on soft ground, and though inconsistent, could come on for that return effort. Promising start for new yard with Warwick second 29 days ago; form franked so a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/1 +20%)Doyouknowwhatimean |
6/1(+20%) | (2) Doyouknowwhatimean 6/1, Pulled up in the Summer Plate Handicap Chase at Market Rasen last time. Effective at 2m and acts on any going, though his current mark looks stiff. Pulled up at Market Rasen in July; starts out for a new yard with more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/4 +89%)Better Off Alone |
9/4(+89%) | (8) Better Off Alone 9/4, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time. Trainer is in form. Off a short break and effective at 3m with some cut in the ground, but has yet to show his best over fences. Pulled up both runs over fences this term; needs a wind op to spark major improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (11/2 +50%)Politacus |
11/2(+50%) | (7) Politacus 11/2, Flattened out after a late error when fourth, beaten 23l, in a handicap hurdle at Warwick on her latest start. Needed the run after a long layoff and looks a contender starting out over fences off potentially lenient mark. Rusty after 19 months off when fourth at Warwick 29 days ago; no forlorn hope now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (28/1 -250%)Lively Citizen |
28/1(-250%) | (4) Lively Citizen 28/1, Travelled well and ran to form when beaten 3/4l off a 7lb lower mark at Aintree last time. In good form over hurdles and fences; not dismissed. Good second over hurdle at Aintree in May; not discounted back chasing after a break. |

LARGY FORCE had to settle for second on her debut for Olly Murphy at Warwick, but the winner has since run well in a stronger race at Cheltenham so the form is probably a bit better than it appeared at the time. The seven-year-old is given another chance in a competitive affair where the opposition is headed by returning pair Lively Citizen and Get Up Mush, with both holding obvious claims. Politacus is another to consider.

The vote goes to LARGY FORCE who shaped well on her debut for Olly Murphy when second at Warwick and can progress to get off the mark

11/10(-38%) | (4) Minella Jury 11/10, Needed every yard and improved when winning a bumper at Wexford by a short-head last time; returns from a short break and holds strong claims starting out over hurdles for new yard. Progressive bumper winner in Ireland; likely player starting out in this sphere now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/2 +44%)Pertemps |
5/2(+44%) | (7) Pertemps 5/2, Ran to the level of his bumper form on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Aintree last time; was in good form beforehand, effective at 2m, and should improve slightly for that initial experience. Showed promise when last of six on Aintree hurdling debut; open to progress; well in mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (10/1 +29%)Tales Of Bravery |
10/1(+29%) | (10) Tales Of Bravery 10/1, Keen and made mistakes, showing greenness when needing the run on hurdle debut and comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time; wears a hood for the first time, effective at around 2 1/2m, and likely capable of better for top connections. In need of experience when sixth at Chepstow on hurdling debut; can build on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (18/1 -29%)Timmys Jet Away |
18/1(-29%) | (12) Timmys Jet Away 18/1, Keen and a touch green, needed the run on debut after a wind operation when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Doncaster last time; second run after wind op and likely to need further in time. Had wind op before well-held fifth on Doncaster hurdling debut; could still do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (150/1 +0%)Glenmuick |
150/1(+0%) | (3) Glenmuick 150/1, Outpaced and produced only a modest effort when down the field in a novice hurdle at Huntingdon last time; trainer in form but improvement is required. Has cut little ice in a bumper and novice hurdles at Warwick/Huntington this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (40/1 +0%)Fine As Wine |
40/1(+0%) | (14) Fine As Wine 40/1, Outpaced and modest on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; may need further than 2m and looks up against it. Remote sixth at Bangor on hurdling debut; made frame in Irish points so no forlorn hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (125/1 -89%)Mooserwirt |
125/1(-89%) | (5) Mooserwirt 125/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when down the field in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective at 3m in points and may find this an inadequate test. A winning pointer but well held in pair of novice hurdles at Newcastle and Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (80/1 -60%)Thereyare |
80/1(-60%) | (11) Thereyare 80/1, Never threatened and was well beaten in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles and needs to show much more. Has offered little in a pair of novice hurdles here and at Bangor this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (80/1 -142%)Stay Hopeful |
80/1(-142%) | (8) Stay Hopeful 80/1, Green and made mistakes, never threatening when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; needs improvement and is likely one for further in time. A winning Irish pointer but a well-held eighth at Bangor on his hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (13) (7/2 +50%)Titanium Ring |
7/2(+50%) | (13) Titanium Ring 7/2, Promising debut, possibly hitting the front too soon when runner-up, beaten 6l, in a bumper at Hexham on only start; that form nothing special but may have bit more to offer over hurdles. Promising second in Hexham bumper; very much one to consider now going hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (50/1 -127%)Driver's Pick |
50/1(-127%) | (2) Driver's Pick 50/1, Had every chance and showed improvement from his debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh most recently; second run after wind operation; stays 2m and effective with give; showed fair flat form in France and is progressing gradually over hurdles. A fair French Flat maiden in 2024; yet to show that form in two hurdles runs this winter. |

MINELLA JURY was sold for 80,000 pounds after getting off the mark at Wexford, but connections might have got a bargain because the runner-up came out and won easily at Thurles. As a half-brother to a Group 1 Flat performer in Germany, the five-year-old should be perfectly suited to this trip now he embarks on a hurdling career and he looks quite an exciting prospect. Titanium Ring chased home an unbeaten Dan Skelton representative at Hexham, while Pertemps has a chance if judged on his bumper thirds rather than his ordinary hurdling debut.

Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies' MINELLA JURY looked a good prospect when landing a Wexford bumper and can go in on his hurdles debut.

1st (4) (14/1 +22%)Whatsupwithyou |
14/1(+22%) | (4) Whatsupwithyou 14/1, Taken on up front and ran to form when fourth, beaten 9l, in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield last time; effective over 2 1/2m; veteran who is not always the most willing in a finish. Ended last season in good form but below that level this term; younger rivals preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/2 -57%)Goodwin |
11/2(-57%) | (6) Goodwin 11/2, Returned to form when suited by a positive ride, landing a handicap hurdle by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Plumpton last time; enjoys making the running; effective 2–2 1/2m on good to soft or good; in form but mark demands more. Made all to land good prize at Plumpton last month and is now 4-11 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 +65%)Punta Del Este |
7/1(+65%) | (5) Punta Del Este 7/1, Outpaced and continued in poor form for new stable when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Exeter last time; effective 2–3m and suited by cut; out of form for new yard but mark is dropping. Out of sorts for current stable since February (four runs); revival needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (7/2 +56%)The Gray Ghost |
7/2(+56%) | (9) The Gray Ghost 7/2, Ran to form but flattened out late following a wind operation, beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton last time; trainer in form; second run after wind op; effective 2m–2m4f on good to soft or good; step back up in trip should suit. Not beaten far at Wincanton (1m7f) recently and this move back up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (6/1 -20%)El Galactico |
6/1(-20%) | (7) El Galactico 6/1, Won a novice hurdle at Plumpton by 3 1/2l last time; 2-3 in short career; strong form and remains of interest on handicap debut. Makes handicap debut after winning two four-runner novice races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (6/1 -33%)Mount Anglesby |
6/1(-33%) | (8) Mount Anglesby 6/1, Improved down in grade to land a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark here last time; effective 2–2 1/2m over hurdles and acts on good ground; progressing for new yard. Won here (2m3f) last month and ought to remain very competitive after 3lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (25/1 +11%)Lucky One |
25/1(+11%) | (11) Lucky One 25/1, Had too much to do when ridden to see out the trip and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective at 2 1/2m and suited by cut; fair mark on French form but unreliable. Placed in October, after a break, but this regressive 10yo was safely held last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (6/1 +33%)Samuel Spade |
6/1(+33%) | (1) Samuel Spade 6/1, Made too much use of and failed to stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time; best around 2 1/2m and barely gets 3m; handicapper has relented and drop in trip a plus; interesting back at scene of last win. Won here (2m7f) in February but well below that form on both starts this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (8/1 -33%)Kapal Layar |
8/1(-33%) | (3) Kapal Layar 8/1, Needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle most recently; had been in good form beforehand; effective at 2 1/2m and progressive in spring, may stay 3m in time. 2-6 over hurdles; disappointed last month, after a break, but may still have potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (20/1 -67%)Lord Snootie |
20/1(-67%) | (2) Lord Snootie 20/1, Needed the run on chase debut, ran well for a long way until fitness told and finished well beaten in a handicap chase at Chepstow last time; back from a long absence with a bit to find. Off since disappointing chase debut in October 2024; considered only if lively in betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (40/1 -150%)Godot |
40/1(-150%) | (10) Godot 40/1, Outpaced and a bit below form when second, beaten 22l, in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield last time; returning from a long layoff; effective 2 1/2m and suited by cut; in fair form but mark probably high enough. Won at Lingfield a year ago but absent since his well-held second there in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (50/1 -100%)Moviddy |
50/1(-100%) | (12) Moviddy 50/1, Disappointing when stepped up in trip, helping set it up for a closer before finishing well beaten in a handicap hurdle here last time; effective 2 1/2–3m; better over fences. Well beaten on both starts this season (chase/hurdle) and evidently not the force of old. |

Goodwin and Mount Anglesby both arrive here in winning form and are taken seriously, but the eye is immediately drawn to EL GALACTICO's unexposed profile and there is good reason to side with Neil Mulholland's charge. It was only a four-runner race at Plumpton, but it takes a nice horse to win a novice hurdle under a penalty and he did it really comfortably, proving his versatility trip-wise in the process. He now goes handicapping off 121 and that mark may underestimate the five-year-old.

This longer trip will suit THE GRAY GHOST, who wasn't beaten far over 1m7f at Wincanton recently and has slipped to a good mark.

1st (3) (10/3 +56%)Coolanna |
10/3(+56%) | (3) Coolanna 10/3, Ran to form when second, beaten 6l, in a maiden at Lisronagh last time. The trainer is in form; returning from a long layoff and wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Needs to improve to feature. Two-time point runner-up; makes rules debut in warm little race but she brings potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 -50%)Sallyville Lady |
3/1(-50%) | (6) Sallyville Lady 3/1, Made a promising hurdling debut, just tiring late after racing freely, when 1¼l third in a novice hurdle at Warwick last time. Effective at 2m5f and should improve with that initial experience under her belt. Point winner who was third against males on hurdle debut at Warwick; holds leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (13/2 -117%)Future Bucks |
13/2(-117%) | (1) Future Bucks 13/2, Improved on stable debut following a wind operation when winning a novice hurdle at Windsor by 4l last time. This is her second run after the wind operation; effective at 2m and handles ground with cut. Likely to progress further for her new yard. Won on stable debut at Windsor; carries a penalty today but she's a very likeable prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/2 -38%)Afancy Getaway |
11/2(-38%) | (2) Afancy Getaway 11/2, Showed plenty of promise on debut, possibly getting racing a bit too early, when 23l third in a maiden hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective over 2½m and handles good to soft ground; a point winner who has joined a top yard with more to come. Point winner; well-beaten 3rd on hurdle debut but could be capable of considerably better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/8 +53%)Mighty Fleur |
15/8(+53%) | (5) Mighty Fleur 15/8, Improved when benefitting from a pace collapse to finish second, beaten 2l, in a novice hurdle at Doncaster last time. Wears a visor for the first time; effective around 2½m and acts on good ground. Arrives in good form. Runner-up on last three starts; can go well but others may have greater potential. |

The ex-French Future Bucks ran out a decisive winner at Windsor on her first start for the Jamie Snowden team, but will do well to successfully concede her penalty to SALLYVILLE LADY. An impressive winner of a point-to-point, the five-year-old offered encouragement behind a couple of geldings on her hurdling bow at Warwick and can build on that. Afancy Getaway also struck between the flags, but must leave last month's Lingfield effort behind.

Point winner SALLYVILLE LADY made a promising start to her rules career when third against males at Warwick and she earns the vote.

1st (8) (9/4 +18%)Sound And Vision |
9/4(+18%) | (8) Sound And Vision 9/4, Touch outpaced but finished best for 2l third in a novice at Newcastle most recent run; trainer in form; effective at 5/6f; open to further improvement. Similar form in three Tapeta runs this winter; should be in the thick of it again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/4 +17%)Von Trotter |
11/4(+17%) | (4) Von Trotter 11/4, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 3 1/2l in a novice at Newcastle only start; effective at 6f; down in trip but good chance. Promising 2nd on Newcastle debut four weeks ago; that form not boosted but can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (15/2 +17%)Southern Warrior |
15/2(+17%) | (3) Southern Warrior 15/2, 16 Mar; 38,000gns Cotai Glory colt; dam fair from 6-8f, including as a 2yo; could have a say in a modest enough race on debut. 38,000gns yearling; 1st foal of 6f-1m winner (RPR 73); market instructive in a modest race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/1 +17%)Riley Rocks |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Riley Rocks 5/1, 22 Apr; 52,000gns Sergei Prokofiev colt; half-brother to Tenaya Canyon, useful at 6f; dam smart at 5f as a 2yo; could play a role on debut. 52,000gns yearling; from a speedy family and starts out in a modest event; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (50/1 +0%)Blueaway |
50/1(+0%) | (5) Blueaway 50/1, No chance after lost 10l start, credible effort considering in a novice at Kempton only start; speedily bred and open to improvement. Blew the start and never competitive on this month's Kempton debut (6f); bred to do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/2 -5%)Saxon Prince |
7/2(-5%) | (2) Saxon Prince 7/2, Confirmed debut promise when beaten 3l in a novice here last time; tongue-tie first time; effective at 5f; bounce back needed in first-time tongue-tie. Two runs over C&D, shaping okay on each occasion; now tongue tied; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (20/1 -208%)Ealhswith |
20/1(-208%) | (6) Ealhswith 20/1, Raced too freely when beaten 9l in a novice at Chelmsford last time; sire sprinter, dam stayed 11f; small, needs to settle and looks like one of top yard's lesser lights. Modest form in two 6f fillies' events 194 days apart; now drops in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (150/1 -275%)Exhibition Match |
150/1(-275%) | (7) Exhibition Match 150/1, Poor effort when well beaten in a novice at Wolverhampton only start; bred for 6f; hood now tried, needs massive improvement. 33-1, slow away and always in rear in a 5f novice at Wolverhampton last month; now hooded. |

Von Trotter surpassed market expectations to occupy the runner-up berth on his Newcastle introduction and raced keenly so should appreciate the drop from 6f. The application of a tongue-tie could help Saxon Prince take the necessary step forward, but SOUND AND VISION is getting better with racing and finished third over this trip at Newcastle. If she can just take up a position closer to the early pace, she will be hard to hold out.

Saxon Prince appeals most of those with experience but the speedily bred RILEY ROCKS could be worth chancing on debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (4/1 -100%)Off The Jury |
4/1(-100%) | (9) Off The Jury 4/1, Needed the run and hung under pressure when third, beaten 4 1/2l, in a novice hurdle here last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, his handicap form is strong though he has shown slight signs of temperament. Showed useful placed form for Alan King last season and again ran well over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (10/1 +60%)West Hill Verde |
10/1(+60%) | (12) West Hill Verde 10/1, Outpaced but improved from debut when pulling clear with a useful rival, finishing third beaten 12l in a maiden hurdle at Newbury last time. Effective at 2m, acts on good to soft, and could progress again over further. Showed clear promise in two 2m Newbury maidens last month but needs to find extra here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (10/3 +52%)Gaelic Pride |
10/3(+52%) | (7) Gaelic Pride 10/3, Improved for debut experience when second, beaten 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Launched hurdling career with two very creditable seconds this autumn; upped in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (66/1 -100%)Seamoon Story |
66/1(-100%) | (10) Seamoon Story 66/1, Keen and outpaced but showed some promise on debut when fourth, beaten 13l, in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on good ground; debut form has been franked and he could be winning soon. Not beaten far when last of four in good course maiden last month but needs to improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/2 +10%)Dig Deep |
9/2(+10%) | (5) Dig Deep 9/2, Travelled well and ran to form when just outstayed late, finishing second beaten 3/4l in a novice hurdle at Warwick last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and handles soft ground; debut form looks strong and a win should come soon. Runner-up on both hurdling starts; has a bit to find here but still enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (33/1 +34%)Walk Tall |
33/1(+34%) | (11) Walk Tall 33/1, Green and made mistakes when needing the run on hurdle debut, well beaten in a novice at Newbury last time. Acts on soft ground; a point winner who may need more time over hurdles. Irish point winner; went close in a bumper last season but well beaten on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (250/1 -67%)Charlies Jetaway |
250/1(-67%) | (2) Charlies Jetaway 250/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced on a modest debut when well held in a novice hurdle at Taunton last time. Handles good ground, the longer trip should help but needs to improve. Placed in two points in May but a well-beaten 50-1 shot on recent rules debut (2m). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (5/1 -25%)Big Ticket |
5/1(-25%) | (1) Big Ticket 5/1, Improved when stepped up in trip under positive handling, finishing second beaten 2l in a novice hurdle here last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 +59%)Definite Call |
33/1(+59%) | (4) Definite Call 33/1, Made a promising hurdle debut when third, beaten 15l, in a maiden at Ffos Las last time. Absent for a long spell but effective at 2 1/2m and acts on any going; should improve for experience and looks a strong stayer likely to get 3m in time. Placed on hurdle debut in November 2023 but returns from long absence in a strong maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (80/1 -100%)Les's Destiny Star |
80/1(-100%) | (8) Les's Destiny Star 80/1, Green in front and ran well for a long way on debut when fourth, beaten 6 1/4l in a novice hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective at 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft, and still has potential over hurdles. Faded into fourth on hurdle debut at Lingfield and contests stronger race here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (250/1 -25%)Fury Lad |
250/1(-25%) | (6) Fury Lad 250/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton last time and has yet to show much ability under rules. Pulled up when 66-1 for recent hurdle debut. |

Crystal Island impressively won a point-to-point in Ireland and now debuts under Rules for the powerful Nicky Henderson yard, so must be taken seriously. Big Ticket and Off The Jury aren't out of this either but the verdict is for GAELIC PRIDE, who has finished runner-up in maiden hurdles at Fontwell and Cheltenham. That latest piece of form at the November fixture reads well and he's the one to beat.

The suggestion is GAELIC PRIDE, who moves up in trip after two creditable efforts over 2m. Big Ticket is second choice.

11/8(+54%) | (6) House Of Habsburg 11/8, Promising debut when just out-battled late, beaten a head off this mark at Warwick last time; effective at 3m and acts on soft ground; well treated if turned out quickly off an unchanged mark and has obvious claims. Denied by a head on last week's chase debut (3m, soft); 6lb well in out again quickly.. |

Disappointing in this race last year; gone close at Ffos Las since; cheekpieces added.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (9/2 +59%)Mythe Bridge |
9/2(+59%) | (1) Mythe Bridge 9/2, Yard won this last year; every chance when needing the run to finish 8l third in a handicap chase at Exeter last time; effective at 3m and suited by decent ground; generally consistent performer. Split two of these at Exeter latest; trainer has won two of the last three renewals.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (6/1 +63%)Streamsforth Lad |
6/1(+63%) | (3) Streamsforth Lad 6/1, Ran to form when 4 1/2l third in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby last time; consistent hurdler; fair mark on that form but must leave debut form behind. Third in Wetherby hurdle latest (3m, soft); didn't jump well on sole previous chase run.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (4/1 +20%)Hill Of Tara |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Hill Of Tara 4/1, Outpaced and may have found the ground too quick when fourth, beaten 15l, in a handicap chase at Exeter latest; effective at 3m and prefers some cut; yet to fire over fences but can do better on easier ground. Can reverse Exeter form with Fat Faced Columbo and Mythe Bridge if the rain continues.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (33/1 -200%)Community Rebel |
33/1(-200%) | (8) Community Rebel 33/1, Unseated in a handicap chase at Musselburgh latest; effective at 3m and acts on good to soft or good ground; inconsistent performer. Blameless exit latest, but mostly struggling for current connections despite easing mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (40/1 -300%)Three Figs |
40/1(-300%) | (5) Three Figs 40/1, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Hereford last time; cheekpieces applied for the first time; has a bit to find but could improve now chasing up in trip. Pedigree doesn't scream staying chaser; passed over on h'cap/chase debut; cheekpieces on.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (40/1 +20%)Worth The Walk |
40/1(+20%) | (10) Worth The Walk 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Ayr last time; a 3m point winner but yet to show form under rules. Pulled up some way out on handicap/chase/seasonal debut (3m, heavy); best watched.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (40/1 +39%)Miami Jim |
40/1(+39%) | (12) Miami Jim 40/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap chase at Wincanton latest; cheekpieces first time; effective from 3m to 3m4f and acts on good to soft or good to firm ground; needs to bounce back. Outpaced over C&D two runs back (good); even further out of the weights this time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (66/1 -32%)Meranti |
66/1(-32%) | (11) Meranti 66/1, Outpaced and never threatened when fourth, beaten 62l, in a handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; effective at 3m on good ground; needs to prove ability remains after a layoff. Minor claims on the Warwick fourth of his final 2023-24 outing; no form since return.. |

HOUSE OF HABSBURG missed out by only a head at Warwick on his recent chasing debut. Due to be raised 6lb for that promising effort, he looks to have strong claims, with Sean Bowen's presence another positive. Fat Faced Columbo left his hurdling form behind when narrowly beaten at Exeter on his chasing and handicap bow. He has plenty of scope for further improvement, while Henry Daly has won two of the last three renewals so Mythe Bridge is worth noting.

The nearer to heavy the better for HILL OF TARA, taken to reverse Exeter form with Mythe Bridge and Fat Faced Columbo.

8/1(-33%) | (11) Late Claim 8/1, Improved to get off the mark in landing a handicap by 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective 12/13f, acts on AW; capable of better. Won on recent handicap debut at Lingfield and could play another leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 -75%)Edwardtheninth |
7/1(-75%) | (5) Edwardtheninth 7/1, Lost action and the run is best ignored when down the field in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Off a short break; best at 16f and suited by the all-weather. Should be fine down slightly in trip. Went close on stable debut at Newcastle in September and had an excuse there next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-100%) | (12) Forglen 18/1, Below form down in trip when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time, though in good form prior. Effective from 12f to 16f and acts on all-weather. 5th (7) (5/1 +17%)Electric Bass |
5/1(+17%) | (7) Electric Bass 5/1, Scored by a nose off a 1lb lower mark at Kempton on his penultimate start. Ran to form when fifth, beaten 6l off 59 last time. Effective from 8f to 12f and acts on all-weather. In good form and this longer trip may suit. Could do with settling better now up in trip but this 3yo is not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (16/1 -60%)Blue Siam |
16/1(-60%) | (9) Blue Siam 16/1, Improved up in trip when beaten 3l off this mark at Newcastle last time. Off a short break; effective from 8f to 12f and acts on all-weather. May have more to offer over this trip. Kept on for third when upped to 12.4f two months ago and this trip is well worth a go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (10/3 +26%)Mio Amico |
10/3(+26%) | (4) Mio Amico 10/3, Yard won this last year; best form to date, strong at finish beaten a length off this mark here last time; effective 14f, acts on AW; can again go well. Lightly raced 3yo who was a close fourth of 11 over C&D last month; firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (33/1 +18%)Khangai |
33/1(+18%) | (8) Khangai 33/1, Again ran to a poor level when down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recently. Effective from 10f to 16f and acts on all-weather. Not that resolute, though this trip may suit. Well handicapped on form as recent as July but struggling more recently; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (13/2 +54%)Lahire |
13/2(+54%) | (3) Lahire 13/2, Bit below form and just outlasted when 9 1/4l third in a handicap here most recently. Off a short break; effective at 12f and acts on all-weather. Has a chance, though others may stay stronger. Well beaten by easy winner but still ran pretty well when 3rd on C&D h'cap debut; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (7/2 +50%)Taranjerine |
7/2(+50%) | (6) Taranjerine 7/2, Scored by a length off a 5lb lower mark at Chelmsford penultimate start; improved again, best work late last time; effective 10-13f, acts on G, AW; good chance up in trip off 1lb lower. Won at Chelmsford on first run since being gelded and good third at Lingfield since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (100/1 -25%)Lawmans Blis |
100/1(-25%) | (10) Lawmans Blis 100/1, Again well below form, this time tried in a visor, when down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recent. Effective from 10f to 12f and suited by all-weather. Out of form since returning from hurdling. Six-time winner who showed some spark in June but well beaten on his last four outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (33/1 -230%)See Paris |
33/1(-230%) | (1) See Paris 33/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Newcastle on his penultimate start. A bit keen and never competitive last time. Usually held up; effective from 8f to 12f and acts on all-weather. Needs more now upped in trip. Won in first-time visor at Newcastle last month but down the field at Lingfield since. |

Mr Zippi burst back into life at Newcastle last week but he needs to prove that wasn't a fluke and, in any case, his penalty takes him 2lb above his new mark. ELECTRIC BASS appeared to be rewarded for some fine efforts in defeat at Kempton, only to lose a share of the spoils in the stewards' room. He then performed below expectations at Wolverhampton, but can be forgiven that and gets another chance. Taranjerine, Edwardtheninth and Blue Siam have to enter the equation too.

The lightly raced 3yo MIO AMICO was a close fourth over C&D last month and is taken to get off the mark today.

1st (4) (5/1 -67%)Vanderpoel |
5/1(-67%) | (4) Vanderpoel 5/1, Ran to form up in trip when second beaten 24l in a handicap chase at Lingfield last time. Effective over 2-2 1/2m and handles good to soft ground. Yard's horses tend to improve for chasing and remain competitive. Well held when making the frame in both chases but was against useful opposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/4 +36%)Stencil |
9/4(+36%) | (2) Stencil 9/4, Comfortably held in the Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (Grade 2) at Cheltenham last time. Wears a hood for the first time; effective over 2m and handles ground with some cut. Can do better when ridden more positively and looks the class angle. Ran well for long way in Cheltenham Grade 2 on chase debut; new hood can help here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +58%)Southoftheborder |
5/1(+58%) | (5) Southoftheborder 5/1, Ran to form when second beaten 11l in a handicap chase at Doncaster last time. Effective over 2-2 1/2m and handles any ground. A point, bumper and hurdles winner who is consistent and capable of winning over fences. 0-5 over fences but not beaten far on any of four starts for new stable this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/5 +47%)Excelero |
6/5(+47%) | (3) Excelero 6/5, Won comfortably by 9 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark at Warwick last time, improving when suited by a positive ride down in trip at a sharp track. Likes to make the running; effective over 2-2 1/4m and progressing over fences. Went up 7lb for last month's small-field Warwick win but could still have more to offer. |

Stencil finished second in a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham last season, but will need to improve on his fencing bow at the same track last month. Harry Cobden keeps the ride, though, and he's fitted with a first-time hood so could step up. Vanderpoel is another to be interested in, but EXCELERO can edge a tight contest while his impressive jumping display at Warwick remains fresh in the memory.

The pick is STENCIL, who did not look out of place in a Cheltenham Grade 2 last month and may benefit from the addition of a hood.

4/7(+0%) | (1) Thankyouandplease 4/7, Travelled and improved when handling the testing ground to win a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Leicester last time. Effective from 2m to 2 3/4m and acts on any ground. Remains competitive and looks well treated escaping a penalty. Leicester conditionals' winner last week (1m7f, heavy); rider can claim this time; player.. |

3rd (2) (16/5 -83%)Newport |
16/5(-83%) | (2) Newport 16/5, A bit free but ran to form when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 7lb lower mark at Musselburgh last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground. Thriving since moving from Ireland. Musselburgh win latest was a first in 16 hurdles starts; not long with current handler.. |

4th (3) (28/1 -40%)Urblereagh |
28/1(-40%) | (3) Urblereagh 28/1, Green and made mistakes but ran to form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen latest. Should be effective at 2m but has a bit to find to defy this opening mark. Jumped and hung left throughout when beaten 27l on latest comeback; mark looks passable.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (66/1 -100%)L'inoubliable |
66/1(-100%) | (6) L'inoubliable 66/1, Made too much use of and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest. Wears cheekpieces for the first time and has yet to prove she can cope with this opening mark. Faded before the longer trip became an issue on recent return (2m2f); cheekpieces added.. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (6/1 -33%)Little Venice |
6/1(-33%) | (5) Little Venice 6/1, Keen and travelled well but had too much to do when 8 1/2l third in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft. Can improve in handicaps based on her flat form. C&D second in October and twice placed again since; more reliable than most of these.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (50/1 +24%)Mac's Xpress |
50/1(+24%) | (8) Mac's Xpress 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2 1/2m but remains a regressive maiden. 0-32 overall and fared no better over this C&D last time; blinkers quickly replace visor.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (80/1 -220%)Oasis Sunrise |
80/1(-220%) | (9) Oasis Sunrise 80/1, Far too free and below form on her final qualifying run when comfortably held in a juvenile hurdle at Kempton last time. Effective at 2m and suited by fast ground. A flat winner who may be one for handicaps. Only slight improvement on RPRs since October's hurdling debut; could still jump better.. |

NEWPORT has benefited from a change of scenery. He was having only his second start for Iain Jardine when scoring nicely on soft going at Musselburgh and the five-year-old remains of interest for his new yard, despite his 7lb penalty. Little Venice went close at Leicester when last seen on testing ground and she rates the main danger on that evidence. Urblereagh may improve on his handicap debut and could prove the pick of the remainder.

Iain Jardine hasn't had NEWPORT long, so may yet elicit further improvement from him. Thankyouandplease is an obvious threat.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 +38%)My Shagaf |
5/1(+38%) | (1) My Shagaf 5/1, Bit keen but ran to form when 4 1/2l third in a novice here on her most recent start. Effective at 6f and 7f, acts on the all-weather, and looks the type to do better now handicapping. Third of nine over 7f here last month; steps up in trip for nursery debut; unexposed. |

10/3(+49%) | (8) Archangel Josepi 10/3, Ran to his best up in trip when beaten 3/4l off a 2lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. Effective from 6f to 8f, acts on the all-weather, likeable type who should find a race. Improved for 1m when second (clear of a subsequent winner) at Newcastle 17 days ago; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (25/1 -39%)Katalyst |
25/1(-39%) | (4) Katalyst 25/1, Hung and weakened when comfortably held in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time, though had been in good form before that. Effective at 7f, acts on the all-weather, and may do better now handicapping. Some promise 2nd/3rd starts but well held latest; tail flasher; up to 1m for h'cap debut. |

14/1(-75%) | (9) Farabove The Limit 14/1, Much better with blinkers removed when beaten 2 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark at Newcastle last time. Effective at 8f on the all-weather and has a chance if building on that latest effort. Third of seven on last month's stable debut (1m, AW); may have more to come but needs it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (11/2 -10%)Stay Sharp |
11/2(-10%) | (7) Stay Sharp 11/2, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Yarmouth penultimate start; ran to form last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 7f, acts on G, GF, AW; can go well again. 7f turf win in October; fair third over 7f here three weeks ago; new trip/headgear today. |

Emma's Letter has been in the thick of the action since a terrible debut and is fancied more than India Gold, who caused a 40/1 shock at Musselburgh. Stay Sharp and Archangel Josepi have claims, but there are a couple of interesting nursery newcomers lurking among the opposition. The application of blinkers should help 110,000gns yearling FLORIDA SUITE harness her true potential and she is preferred to Prancy Peer, who is out of a half-sister to two Classic winners.

Unexposed at a mile, ARCHANGEL JOSEPI can confirm the promise of his latest Newcastle second. My Shagaf may be best of the rest.

66/1(-164%) | (14) Peking Opera 66/1, Perhaps not suited by the ground and probably failed to stay when well beaten in a Lingfield handicap hurdle last time. Returning from a long layoff. Effective over 2m on good to soft ground; fair mark on debut win but must bounce back. Still unexposed over hurdles but absent since tailed off just over a year ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (17) (150/1 -200%)Easter Icon |
150/1(-200%) | (17) Easter Icon 150/1, Needed the run and possibly didn't stay when down the field in a Wetherby handicap hurdle last time. In good form prior and returns after a short break. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and could bounce back dropped in trip. Dual AW winner this year; returned from break with heavy defeat in 3m hurdle in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (11/1 -38%)Tashan |
11/1(-38%) | (11) Tashan 11/1, Improved again on handicap debut when winning by a short head off a 2lb lower mark at Exeter last time. Effective over 2m and acts on good to soft or good ground. Progressive and open to further improvement in handicaps. Narrow winner of last month's handicap debut and now 3-5 over hurdles; up in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (66/1 +18%)Gower Spirit |
66/1(+18%) | (15) Gower Spirit 66/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a Newbury novice hurdle last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and handles heavy ground. Highly tried and the form of her maiden win looks modest. Surprise winner of 2m4f maiden last month; more improvement needed here. |

TASHAN showed the benefit of his seasonal debut at Chepstow when he got back to winning ways with a tenacious effort at Exeter. With the promise of more to come, this could be within the reach of Emma Lavelle's progressive four-year-old. There are dangers aplenty, however, and the likes of The Hardest Geezer and the returning Let It Rain, along with fellow last-time-out winners Non Stop and He's A Latchico, all have plenty to offer in a wide-open event.

Preference is for PARRAMOUNT, who ran very well behind an unexposed rival at Doncaster last month and remains well handicapped.

4/1(-45%) | (3) Heart Over Head 4/1, A bit free but improved when stepped up in trip, beaten 2l off a 2lb lower mark at Market Rasen last time; effective between 2m and 2 1/2m and acts on good ground; looks to be progressing. Took a step forward with Market Rasen third latest; may do better still up further in trip. |

2nd (1) (8/15 +64%)Drayton Flyer |
8/15(+64%) | (1) Drayton Flyer 8/15, Ran to form when just flattening out late back from a break, beaten 2 1/2l off this mark here last time; effective at 2m-2m4f and acts on heavy or soft ground; likely to progress if fitter this time. Excellent clear second on handicap debut here last month; big shout off an unchanged mark. |

3rd (4) (13/2 -30%)Bobalot |
13/2(-30%) | (4) Bobalot 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 1lb lower mark at Huntingdon last time; a strong stayer over 3m who acts on soft or good ground; appears to be in fair form. Right back on track when third in 25f Huntingdon h'cap 27 days ago; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/1 -50%)Subtle Fortune |
9/1(-50%) | (5) Subtle Fortune 9/1, Improved down in grade when winning an auction hurdle here by 6l last time; returns from a long layoff; effective at about 2 3/4m and acts with cut; form of maiden win modest and needs more back from the break. Landed novice over C&D 12 months ago; absent since but not dismissed for in-form yard. |

DRAYTON FLYER was all the rage for his handicap debut here, but had to make do with second. He appeared to lack a change of gear so the extra couple of furlongs will be to his benefit and those who keep the faith can be rewarded. The strength of Heart Over Head's Market Rasen third has been boosted, while Bobalot had Icaque de L'Isle a couple of lengths behind when filling the same position at Huntingdon. Subtle Fortune landed the mares' novices' hurdle on this card 12 months ago, but hasn't been seen since.

Olly Murphy's DRAYTON FLYER (nap) shaped really well when a clear runner-up on his return here and looks the way to go off the same mark

14th (14) (250/1 -67%)Untilwemeetagain |
250/1(-67%) | (14) Untilwemeetagain 250/1, Outpaced early with only minor late gains when well beaten in a novice at Chelmsford latest; sire was a sprinter and dam stayed 10f; yet to show any real signs of ability. No impact in two 6f runs this winter; stepping up in trip not enough to tempt this time. |

There are some interesting newcomers going to post here, most notably Ada Rose and Helga, but experience can win the day and RITAAL is the one to be on. She has bumped into a couple of nice prospects in twice finishing second at Wolverhampton and can make it third-time lucky. Chelmsford third Safe Harbor is another to keep an eye on.

This looks ripe for a newcomer and although PENDELLA is drawn wide, she's preferred to Ada Rose.

1st (1) (11/4 -57%)Steel Ally |
11/4(-57%) | (1) Steel Ally 11/4, Did it readily, the rider dropped his whip, and it was a very promising chase debut when winning a graduation chase at Carlisle by 5l last time. The trainer is in form, effective at 2m, and he looks a very useful chaser worth this step up in grade. Won in good style on chase debut at Carlisle and high on the list despite a 3lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (12/1 +25%)Push The Button |
12/1(+25%) | (5) Push The Button 12/1, Outpaced but rallied gamely when second, beaten 1/2l, in a handicap chase at Wetherby last time. Effective from 2m to 2¾m and may not quite stay 3m, though there's more to come over fences and the step back up in trip should suit. Something to find but has made good start to chase career and this longer trip can suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/5 +14%)No Questions Asked |
7/5(+14%) | (3) No Questions Asked 7/5, Travelled well and improved from his debut, outstayed late up in trip in a strongly run race when second, beaten 2l, in the John Francome Novices' Chase (Grade 2) at Newbury last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m on good to soft and good ground; a useful chasing recruit who is progressing. Won over C&D on chase debut then runner-up in Grade 2 at Newbury; holds leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/2 +17%)Jax Junior |
5/2(+17%) | (2) Jax Junior 5/2, Jumped well and travelled strongly, showing improvement from his debut when winning a beginners' chase at Kempton by 12l last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and handles good to soft and good ground; progressing over fences. Commanding winner at Kempton on second chase start; may well have more to offer; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (16/1 +20%)Personal Ambition |
16/1(+20%) | (4) Personal Ambition 16/1, Was pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time; runner up in this last year and has experience edge but looks clear stable second string. May well have won this 12 months ago but for bad mistake; form has been patchy since. |

The winner of three of his six outings over hurdles, NO QUESTIONS ASKED has made a promising start over the larger obstacles. He won over C&D on last month's chasing bow prior to finishing a highly creditable second in Grade 2 company at Newbury and there looks plenty more to come from Ben Pauling's charge. Steel Ally is another smart recruit to the chasing ranks having scored nicely at Carlisle, while Kempton winner Jax Junior may prove the pick of the remainder.

Preference is for JAX JUNIOR (nap), who was impressive at Kempton and is open to further improvement over fences.

5/2(-43%) | (5) Getaway With You 5/2, Did it easily and improved again when winning a handicap by 7 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m and acts on soft and good to soft. Still on a fair mark and could continue his winning run. Recent 16-day hat-trick includes a soft-ground win; well in despite carrying a penalty.. |

3rd (3) (11/1 +8%)Osterberg |
11/1(+8%) | (3) Osterberg 11/1, Outpaced but ran to form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Trainer in good form; returns from a short break. Effective around 2 1/2m but has been well held in all rules starts and has plenty to prove. Better at Ffos Las latest (2m4f, soft), but others still hold more pressing claims.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (28/1 -75%)Le Beau Gosse |
28/1(-75%) | (2) Le Beau Gosse 28/1, Did not get a clear run and was comfortably held in a handicap chase at Southwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut. Showed minor promise in France but must bounce back for new connections. Unable to break out of rear on two runs since arrival from France; eased 5lb since latest.. |

5th (8) (10/3 +49%)Rock On Tommy |
10/3(+49%) | (8) Rock On Tommy 10/3, Yard won this last year. Had every chance but ran below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon last time. Off a short break; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on any ground. Well treated on old form and goes well at this track though inconsistent lately. Four course wins include May's C&D success off today's mark; has had wind op; respected.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/2 +61%)An Buachaill Rua |
11/2(+61%) | (6) An Buachaill Rua 11/2, Travelled well and ran to form but did not find as much as looked likely when beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective from 2 1/4m to 2 1/2m and acts on good. Point-to-point winner with more to come in handicaps. Consistent if last month's return is ignored; winning pointing form with give underfoot.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (16/5 +60%)The Last Drop |
16/5(+60%) | (7) The Last Drop 16/5, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 13l, in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to soft. Inconsistent but still early days in handicaps. Remains below her spring 2024 peak; didn't convince on previous attempt over 2m4f.. |

GETAWAY WITH YOU is flying and completed a quickfire hat-trick at Lingfield last weekend. His penalty keeps him 4lb below his revised rating and it will be a surprise if he can't continue on his merry way. Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen teamed up to claim this contest last year and will be hoping that wind surgery helps Rock On Tommy, who struck off this mark over C&D in May. Following Chapter should be able to build on a satisfactory handicap debut at Hereford.

Another good opening for the thriving GETAWAY WITH YOU, assuming it's not one race too many for now. Rock On Tommy is next best.

5/4(+23%) | (1) Machete 5/4, Travelled well and improved before just being outlasted when beaten a neck off 80 here last time. Effective from 10f to 13f. Up 2lb but this trip may prove ideal. Well treated on old form and he was only just caught over 12.4f here last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 -80%)Desert Emperor |
9/2(-80%) | (3) Desert Emperor 9/2, Strong at the finish and produced his best form of 2025 when winning a handicap by 3l off 73 here last time. Effective from 10f to 12f. Can be competitive despite a 5lb rise. Won in good style off a reduced mark over C&D last month; big player again off 5lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (8/1 +60%)Humble Spark |
8/1(+60%) | (2) Humble Spark 8/1, Lacked pace dropped in trip when well beaten in a handicap here latest; top course jockey; usually held up; effective 12-16f, acts on GF, AW; needs further. Six-time Tapeta winner but he's not easy to predict and needs to bounce back near best. |

11/4(+61%) | (4) Light Speed 11/4, Below form when beaten 10l in a handicap here last time. Effective from 8f to 11f. Needs to bounce back to earlier level. On workable mark but he's been well held over C&D in last two starts; others preferred. |

5th (6) (50/1 -150%)Maui Breeze |
50/1(-150%) | (6) Maui Breeze 50/1, Again below best when beaten 6l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time. Effective at 6f and 7f. Faces a big step up in trip for new yard. On dangerous mark for new yard but she's 1-10 and others are more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (11/1 -83%)Popeye Doyle |
11/1(-83%) | (5) Popeye Doyle 11/1, Ran to form upped in trip when beaten a neck off 70 at Wolverhampton last time; off a short-break; effective 8-10f, all worthwhile form on AW; mark is still competitive but this stiff 10f may stretch. Went close at Wolverhampton in final run for Hugo Palmer; in the mix on stable debut. |

Desert Emperor and Lewis Chalkley teamed up to spring a 22/1 surprise over C&D, but the form is nothing special and MACHETE gets the nod. David O'Meara's six-year-old has progressed steadily since returning from a long spell on the sidelines and came within a neck of justifying favouritism over the extended 1m4f here. He was headed in the dying strides so should appreciate the drop in trip. Popeye Doyle was in good form for Hugo Palmer and switches stables after being bought for 15,000gns.

This is a tight call but last month's C&D winner DESERT EMPEROR gets the vote ahead of Machete and Popeye Doyle.

2/1(+64%) | (3) Imola 2/1, Was trying to make ground when clipping heels and unseating the rider in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on the all-weather. Capable off this mark. Going okay when unseating rider over 2f out at Newcastle ten days ago; each-way shout. |

6/4(+33%) | (2) R P Mcmurphy 6/4, Improved and finished strongly to win a handicap by 3l off a 5lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. From a top course trainer. Effective at 8f to 9f on the all-weather and looks progressive. Unexposed 3yo; easy win at Wolverhampton 13 days ago; strong contender despite a 5lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -150%)Spirit Of Bowland |
25/1(-150%) | (4) Spirit Of Bowland 25/1, Took another step backwards when well beaten in a handicap here last time. Effective from 7f to 9f on the all-weather, but his form has been regressing. Only 1lb higher than for easy C&D win in April; quiet of late but revival quite possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 -135%)Kodebreaker |
20/1(-135%) | (6) Kodebreaker 20/1, Better than the result suggested when making late headway despite a troubled run, beaten a length off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 7f to 8f on the all-weather. Up in weights but still a possible contender. Conditions to suit and latest 2nd (7f) was a step in the right direction; each-way claims. |

7/1(-75%) | (1) Von Krolock 7/1, Returned to form in a first-time visor when winning a handicap by a short head off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective from 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather. Can go well for this in-form yard. 7f win at Wolverhampton last month but weakened over 7f here yesterday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -122%)Dash Power |
20/1(-122%) | (7) Dash Power 20/1, Travelled well and ran to his recent best in reapplied blinkers when beaten 3l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 8f to 9f on the all-weather. Needs to back up that latest effort. Chased home R P McMurphy at Wolverhampton two weeks ago; 5lb turnaround may not be enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (22/1 +21%)Mickey Mongoose |
22/1(+21%) | (8) Mickey Mongoose 22/1, Off the pace and never involved when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective from 7f to 8f on a sound surface. Prefers to dominate and needs to rebound. Two-time C&D winner; low-key return from a break four weeks ago; now gets cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (40/1 -100%)Invincible Storm |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Invincible Storm 40/1, Produced his best run since summer when beaten 4l off this mark at Lingfield last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on the all-weather. An exposed maiden but at least ran well latest. Inconsistent 17-race maiden; latest run was okay but not certain to build on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (100/1 -52%)Rohilla |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Rohilla 100/1, Again ran poorly after a slow start when finishing down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recently. Returns from a short break. Effective at 10f on a sound surface but remains out of form. Modest maiden; recent efforts don't suggest she is about to break her duck. |

C&D winner Kodebreaker was back to form with a second at Wolverhampton last time out and is noted along with Imola. A confident vote, though, is for R P MCMURPHY, who justified market support when getting off the mark at Dunstall Park a fortnight ago. He was really impressive that day and likely has a lot more in the locker.

Ribston Pippin can go well back down in trip but R P MCMURPHY (nap), unexposed and progressive, can make light of his 5lb rise.

15th (3) (9/1 -6%)Black Eddy |
9/1(-6%) | (3) Black Eddy 9/1, Made a very promising debut when winning a bumper at Chepstow by 2 1/4l. Off a short break. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground. Debut form has knocks and more required up in class. Quite impressive when winning readily at Chepstow for Toby Bulgin in October; new yard. |

The winner of an Irish point-to-point, BASS HUNTER made an impressive debut under Rules when beating a subsequent hurdles winner by eight lengths at Newbury. Chris Gordon's charge looks to have a bright future on that evidence and is taken to edge a competitive affair. Black Eddy has switched yards since landing a Chepstow bumper on debut and he can feature, while Sea The Day is preferred of Dan Skelton's three runners. Sappingirl and No Way Jay are others to note.

There is no strong temptation to oppose BASS HUNTER, who created a very good impression when dominating from the front at Newbury.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (40/1 +39%)Fickle Mcselfish |
40/1(+39%) | (4) Fickle Mcselfish 40/1, Well beaten on debut in a maiden here on his only start; bred to be effective over 7f to 8f and may need more time. Always behind and he finished a remote ninth of ten on his 7f debut here (25-1) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (66/1 -136%)Battenburg Belle |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (80/1 -21%)Liquid Cooled |
80/1(-21%) | (3) Liquid Cooled 80/1, Outpaced once the race developed when well beaten in a novice here last time; likely to want at least 7f and open to progress over longer trips. Has struggled in two runs at this track (7f/5f) and minor handicaps will be more like it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (12/1 +14%)Gwen Tennyson |

On his final appearance for John Butler, JUSTMYLUCK proved he handles Tapeta when runner-up at Wolverhampton to a filly who has since made it two from two. Subsequently purchased for 12,000gns, the son of Harry Angel can make the best possible start to life with Linda Perratt. Harlequin Bay also found only one too strong on his latest outing, when keeping on over 5f here, while his stable companion Evolve is a half-brother to classy sprinter Washington Heights so is one to watch on debut.

Top of the list is HARLEQUIN BAY who left his debut form a long way behind when a strong-finishing second over 5f here three weeks ago.

1st (1) (1/1 +27%)Latin |
1/1(+27%) | (1) Latin 1/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark at Bath in September and again ran to form when third last time. Effective from 7f to 10f and acts on all-weather. The drop in trip may suit this versatile sort, who holds a good chance. Reliable handicapper but 0-14 on AW; more minor money perhaps the likeliest scenario. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 +22%)Timely Affair |
7/2(+22%) | (5) Timely Affair 7/2, Again ran to a moderate level when finishing down the field in a maiden at Windsor last time. Yet to find suitable conditions but could show improvement now entering handicaps. Poor turf form in May/June but bred to do better; likely improver now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

25/1(+11%) | (7) Hey Crackers 25/1, Below form after not getting a clear run when beaten 6 1/2l in a Newcastle handicap last time. Yet to encounter ideal conditions and needs to improve to feature. Low-grade maiden but latest run (June) threatened better; had wind op since; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/2 +7%)Al Baahy |
13/2(+7%) | (4) Al Baahy 13/2, Took a step back in the right direction when beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time. The trainer is in form. Effective from 7f to 9f and acts on all-weather. Down again in the weights but without a win since 2023. Just one win from 41 starts; conditions should be fine but easy enough to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (8/1 -23%)Ring Of Gold |
8/1(-23%) | (3) Ring Of Gold 8/1, Scored by a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle three starts ago and was slightly below form last time. Effective at 7f to 8f and handles all-weather. Generally in good heart and capable of another solid run. Two 7f wins at Newcastle in September; form dipped last time but still a key player here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (20/1 +0%)Trusty Scout |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Trusty Scout 20/1, Too keen and again below his summer best when beaten 7l in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Effective from 8f to 12f and best on all-weather. The drop in trip may not be ideal. Infrequent winner; likely he will need the pace to collapse to win over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (50/1 +0%)Ciara Storm |
50/1(+0%) | (9) Ciara Storm 50/1, Found little and ran well below form when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective at 8f to 10f and acts on all-weather but remains a poor maiden facing a tough task. 20-race maiden for whom it is difficult to make a compelling case for; new headgear today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (80/1 -100%)Sogannie |
80/1(-100%) | (8) Sogannie 80/1, Showed little on handicap debut when down the field in a Newcastle handicap most recently. Effective at 7f and handles all-weather. Needs the step up in trip to bring about improvement. Low-key handicap debut three weeks ago (7f, Tapeta); no solid form; hard to fancy. |

There would be no more deserving winner than LATIN, who really should have more than one success on his CV. That victory came at Bath in September, since when he has hit the crossbar three times before finishing third at Lingfield on Monday. He invariably attracts market attention and will probably do so again, but this time can reward it. Volendam, Ring Of Gold and Al Baahy are feared most.

Latin looks set to go well again but this could the day that VOLENDAM sheds her maiden tag.

Won at Catterick in October; up 7lb but he's open to more progress for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (3/1 +10%)King Victorious |
3/1(+10%) | (2) King Victorious 3/1, Ran to form but finished as if further would suit when beaten 2l off 60 here last time; effective at 6f, 7f may bring more, acts on AW; consistent and should go well. 0-6 but he's been placed on Tapeta in last two starts and should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (28/1 -133%)Mademoiselle Belle |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (11/1 +0%)A Boy Named Mary |
11/1(+0%) | (3) A Boy Named Mary 11/1, Too keen and didn't get home when upped in trip, finishing down the field in a novice here most recently; trainer in form; effective at 7f, acts on AW; dropping in trip now handicapping. Unexposed gelding but he needs a transformation dropped to 6f on nursery debut. |

WATCHDOG headed the market on his first start following a gelding operation and so nearly justified it at Southwell last week. Richard Fahey turns him out again before his revised rating comes into effect and the move can pay dividends. Grey Horizon has left the Musley Bank handler to join Scott Dixon since a Catterick success and has shown glimpses of ability on the all-weather. Even so, King Victorious is feared most after a couple of placed efforts of late.

The vote goes to WATCHDOG (nap), who was only just caught at Southwell last week and is well treated off on this drop back in trip.

1st (2) (5/6 +63%)Towerlands |
5/6(+63%) | (2) Towerlands 5/6, Improved again to win a handicap by a head off a 6lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on this surface. Raised in the weights but arrives in good order. Another hat-trick seeker and one of the wins was over C&D; 3lb wrong under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 -23%)Priapos |
2/1(-23%) | (1) Priapos 2/1, Ran to form when finishing strongly to win a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. The trainer is in form and the colt is effective from 6f to 8f. A penalty makes this tougher but he remains in fine form. Chases hat-trick after two 1m wins at Newcastle; 1lb wrong under penalty; unexposed at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 -82%)Lexington Jet |
10/1(-82%) | (5) Lexington Jet 10/1, A bit below his best when beaten 3l off this mark at Kempton last time in cheekpieces. Effective at 7f and best on the all-weather. Regular hood added to cheekpieces; needs to find more to break his maiden. Still seeking his first win but he has shown promise and stepping up to 1m could help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 +13%)Thiscouldbefun |
7/1(+13%) | (3) Thiscouldbefun 7/1, Won by 2 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Lingfield on her penultimate start and ran close to form last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and handles any surface. Needs a bit more off this higher mark. Two 1m wins this year; only 6th behind Towerlands 11 days ago; needs a career best to win. |

Towerlands proved his 22/1 C&D triumph was no fluke when following up at Lingfield, with Thiscouldbefun and Riyadh Gem trailing in his wake. However, it's possible that fellow hat-trick seeker PRIAPOS is slightly better treated under his penalty. The Phillip Makin-trained gelding has improved no end since running behind Towerlands here back in October, completing a Newcastle brace, and can continue on his upward curve.

Hat-trick seekers Priapos and Towerlands have obvious claims but stepping up in trip could see LEXINGTON JET break his duck.

11th (14) (66/1 -65%)No More Hiding |
66/1(-65%) | (14) No More Hiding 66/1, Never figured and not given a hard time when beaten 7l in a maiden here last time. Has a wide draw and is bred to be effective between 6f and 8f; yet to show much but remains unexposed. Okay 7th of 11 last time at 150-1; drop to this trip may not suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (250/1 -100%)Monty Bear |
250/1(-100%) | (3) Monty Bear 250/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability. Drawn wide and still to find suitable conditions; looks up against it. Triple-figure odds and hasn't beaten a rival in both career starts; safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (125/1 -213%)Mina Bonita |
125/1(-213%) | (12) Mina Bonita 125/1, Needed the run when down the field in a maiden here last time, having been in good form prior. Suited by 5f on all-weather; not much of her physically and has a bit to prove now. Promise shown in opening m'dens but needs to bounce back from poor run latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (4) (125/1 -213%)Only One Scobie |
125/1(-213%) | (4) Only One Scobie 125/1, 12 Feb; 14,000 euros Galileo Gold gelding; dam very useful from 8f (at 2yo) to 9f; yard's horses tend to need more time. Half-brother to two winners; dam French 1m winner (RPR 90); check market. |

THIS GUY can gain a deserved success. The Danny Murphy-trained gelding lost out narrowly over C&D last week, when just nailed on the line. He sets the standard with his mark of 75 and his experience looks like a big asset. Sayonara is the potential improver in the field and could be the danger. The Kodiac colt shaped nicely when third to a decent sort in Fox In Flight here 16 days ago, and stepping up in trip may bring improvement. Oasis Dream filly Full Moon Tonight looks like a newcomer to note in the market for trainer Gavin Cromwell.

Beaten just a nose over C&D last time, THIS GUY (nap) can put his experience to good use and gain his first win

8/1(-129%) | (7) Thestral 8/1, Modest debut, stopped quickly when beaten 7 1/2l in a maiden here on debut; brother to Group 1 winner Dream Of Dreams - best at 6/7f; better was expected on debut, could have a say. Only fifth on debut over C&D but this well-bred colt could be capable of much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (18/5 +64%)Kohana Nation |
18/5(+64%) | (4) Kohana Nation 18/5, Green and got behind when well beaten in a novice at Kempton on only start; by a sprint sire out of a miler dam; open to marked improvement. Could be sharper for Kempton experience but needs a sizeable step forward today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/1 +40%)Highland Shah |
6/1(+40%) | (3) Highland Shah 6/1, Green and nudged along throughout but made late ground when 6 1/4l fourth in a novice here on debut; stays 7f and should get further; big, strong type with plenty to come. Half-brother to seven winners; debut fourth over C&D gives him something to build on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/3 -78%)Great Success |
10/3(-78%) | (2) Great Success 10/3, Step back from promising debut, held when short of room, when beaten 9l in a novice here last time; top course trainer; effective at 6f, acts on GF; bounce back needed but possible. Underwhelming here last month but leading claims judged on debut form at Pontefract. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (11/2 +0%)Choir Boy |
11/2(+0%) | (1) Choir Boy 11/2, Modest debut, finishing 10l behind in a maiden at Naas; cheekpieces applied for the first time; returns from a short break; effective at 8f but not certain this drop in trip will suit on stable debut. 5th of 8 on sole run for Aidan O'Brien; no surprise if he has a part to play on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/4 +31%)Stepanov |
11/4(+31%) | (6) Stepanov 11/4, 3 Apr; resold for 105,000gns as a yearling; Starspangledbanner colt; dam unraced; could easily have a say on debut as this isn't much of a race. 105,000gns yearling; trainer had a 2yo newcomer win impressively here last Saturday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (40/1 -60%)Raven's View |
40/1(-60%) | (5) Raven's View 40/1, Modest debut when beaten 8 1/2l in a novice here; bred to stay at least a mile; should improve for that initial experience. Down the field at 22-1 on recent debut over C&D and needs to leave that form well behind. |

GREAT SUCCESS was soon eased when beaten here latest but on the evidence of an encouraging debut third at Pontefract, it is worth giving Richard Fahey's colt another chance. Stretching out in trip might help him and he gets the nod ahead of Thestral, who is entitled to have come forward from his first outing here last month. The sole newcomer Stepanov wouldn't have to be a superstar to get competitive.

Preference is for the sole newcomer STEPANOV. He was bought for 105,000gns last November and Ed Bethell's 2yos have been going well here

11/1(-38%) | (5) Chola Empire 11/1, Won by a head off a 2lb lower mark at Chelmsford three starts ago but below form since. Effective over 6-7f and best on the all-weather; needs to bounce back. Multiple C&D winner; below par here last time though and others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/4 +10%)Mumayaz |
9/4(+10%) | (2) Mumayaz 9/4, Won by a length off a 4lb lower mark here on his penultimate start but was slightly below form last time. Effective over 5-7f and acts on the all-weather; needs more to defy this mark. 6f win here last month; never dangerous at Wolverhampton on Monday but ran okay; contender. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (13/2 -8%)Maximising |
13/2(-8%) | (3) Maximising 13/2, Improved but may have been flattered when 4l third in a maiden at Yarmouth on latest start. Trainer in form; effective at 7f and could have more to offer now handicapping. Improved 3rd at Yarmouth in July (7f, good); needs more now handicapping but it's possible. |

17/2(-31%) | (6) Far Ahead 17/2, Took a step back in the right direction when beaten 3 1/4l off a 3lb higher mark at Thirsk last time. Returning from a break; effective at 7f; novice form may flatter and down in the weights. Struggled in stronger handicaps since his novice win; drops in class; not fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 -50%)Looks Fantastic |
18/1(-50%) | (7) Looks Fantastic 18/1, In trouble a long way out when beaten 8 1/4l in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Trained by a top course trainer; off a short break; effective over 7-10f on a sound surface but remains erratic. Eight-race maiden; not at best in either run for new yard; others appeal more. |

Mumayaz reverts to 7f with a shout having scored over a shorter trip here on his penultimate outing. King Of Ithaca showed signs of a return to form when third over C&D, but a chance is taken on MAXIMISING. The son of Circus Maximus posted his best effort so far when third in a decent maiden at Yarmouth back in July and returns to the fray with plenty of scope for improvement now handicapping for the first time.

There was more promise in the latest run of FAR AHEAD than the distance beaten suggests and he can make a successful AW debut.

4th (8) (7/1 -40%)Pass Me If You Can |
7/1(-40%) | (8) Pass Me If You Can 7/1, Touched green but produced a solid effort when beaten 5 1/2l in a maiden here on debut. Speedily bred, acts on this surface and should make normal improvement. Not clear run last time when 5.5l sixth over 5f; extra distance can help but more needed. |

14/1(-17%) | (12) Pocket Jacks 14/1, Forced wide from a poor draw and beaten 9l in an auction race here on debut. Bred to be suited by around 7f and acts on this surface, though may need more time. Ninth of 14 on debut here over 7f and more needed to win this. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (50/1 -150%)All Is Bright |
50/1(-150%) | (9) All Is Bright 50/1, Made too much use of when down the field in a maiden here last time. Bred for 10-12f but yet to show much sign of ability. Holds an entry for Irish 1,000 Guineas but beaten 11l in opening two runs here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (100/1 -52%)Garryowen Green |
100/1(-52%) | (6) Garryowen Green 100/1, 17 Mar; 5,000 euros Galileo Gold colt; half-brother to Ohnojoe, useful at 6f; dam smart at 5f at 2yo; yard better known for jumps exploits. Half-brother to 6f 2yo winner Ohnojoe (RPR 74); dam 5f 2yo winner (72); others preferred. |

200/1(-100%) | (11) La Masia 200/1, Has shown no worthwhile form to date. Wears a hood for the first time after a break. Pedigree suggests all speed but yet to show anything. Beat few rivals in opening m'dens; switch to this surface needs to bring improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (5) (40/1 +20%)Emily's Boy |
40/1(+20%) | (5) Emily's Boy 40/1, 17 Mar; Coulsty gelding; half-brother to Asgard's Captain, very useful at 12f who is suited by the AW; market can guide. Half-brother to winners Asgard's Captain (RPR 96) and Ms Messi (68); others more likely. |

WEARING STARS ran a big race when third here three weeks ago and can open her account. The Starspangledbanner filly disputed the lead passing the furlong pole before being edged out in a tight finish. The form looks solid, with the fourth narrowly denied here since. Leveraging has improved from run to run and could be the one to give her most to do. The Dandy Man colt wasn't beaten far when sixth here early last month. Pass Me If You Can may improve a bit from his debut and is another to consider.

Going close over C&D last time, WEARING STARS can make the breakthrough here with the form of that last run franked since

Enjoys making the running and is effective at 6f to 7f on all-weather. Needs to bounce back. 0-11 on AW but some good runs here in the autumn and this drop back in trip could assist. |

2nd (2) (11/1 -120%)Maxi Boy |
11/1(-120%) | (2) Maxi Boy 11/1, Produced his best run of 2025 when just denied by 1/2l off 74 here last time. Effective at 7f and handles the all-weather. Capable again off this mark. Hard to win with but went close here this month and can be bang there if backing that up. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (15/2 -67%)Dandy Dinmont |
15/2(-67%) | (9) Dandy Dinmont 15/2, Best work came late when running to form in cheekpieces, beaten 1 1/4l off 67 here last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 5f to 6f on a sound surface. Consistent and still well treated. Consistent course winner who has been running well here and can be in the shake-up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 -33%)Novak |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Novak 16/1, Scored by 1/2l off 71 here in September; bit below form, didn't get home last time; effective 6/7f, acts on sound surface; in and out of form recently. Inconsistent but three wins this year, with two of them here; not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (10/1 -33%)Pal Joey |
10/1(-33%) | (6) Pal Joey 10/1, Lacked pace down in trip when beaten 3l off 74 here last time. Wears a visor for the first time. Effective at 6f to 7f on a sound surface and looks on a competitive mark. Hasn't kicked on since winning at Haydock in July but maybe he'll be sharper in the visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (10/3 +33%)Dandy Magic |
10/3(+33%) | (3) Dandy Magic 10/3, Scored by a neck off 70 here penultimate start; ran to form when third last time; top course jockey; effective 5/6f, acts on GS, GF, AW; likes this C&D and can go well again. Two-time C&D winner who ran well when third over C&D last time; has to be high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (25/1 -79%)Captain Vallo |
25/1(-79%) | (11) Captain Vallo 25/1, Didn't find, below form when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Redcar last time; in good form prior; returning from a break; suited by 6f, may not get 7f, acts on a sound surface; bounce back needed. Rare below-par run when last seen but this three-time C&D winner could be a major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (5/1 +9%)Forest Caper |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Forest Caper 5/1, Bit below form but with excuses when 6 1/2l third in a novice here most recent run; effective 8-10f, acts on GS, GF, AW; bounce back needed dropped to sprinting. Maiden but has often run well and could be suited by this first crack at a sprint trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (22/1 +0%)Habrdi |
22/1(+0%) | (10) Habrdi 22/1, Below form down in trip when tried in cheekpieces and beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Hamilton last time. Returning from a break. Effective at 6f to 8f on all-weather. Has been regressive of late. His mark continues to tumble but for good reason in view of his performances this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (50/1 -52%)La Rochette |
50/1(-52%) | (12) La Rochette 50/1, Again below form when down the field in a handicap at Redcar most recently. Off a short break and yet to find suitable conditions. Her mark is easing but remains out of form. Two wins in France last year but she's struggled in Britain and is hard to fancy. |

Course scorer MAXI BOY returned to form when taking second here 17 days ago and should be bang there at the business end if building on that effort. Consistency wouldn't be his strong point, though, which gives hope to the others and Dandy Magic will be fancied by many to at least hit the frame. Novak likes it here and Forest Caper has been knocking on the door.

The 3yo DANDY MAGIC has been in really good form here on her last two outings and can post her third course win.

2nd (7) (12/1 -41%)Dc Cogent |
12/1(-41%) | (7) Dc Cogent 12/1, Bit below best when dropped in trip and beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark here last time. Drawn wide but down 2lb and could go well. Yet to win a handicap and still to prove his stamina for 6f; others appeal more. |

6/1(+50%) | (8) I Need Your Love 6/1, Won by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Bath two starts ago but below form when fifth back on all-weather last time. Effective at 5/6f and needs to bounce back. Should prove effective on AW in time but he needs to better his latest Newcastle effort. |

4th (1) (11/4 -22%)Ay Gee Ell |
11/4(-22%) | (1) Ay Gee Ell 11/4, Showed best form since spring when tried in a visor, winning a handicap by 3 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark here last time. Effective at 5f but less convincing at 6f and can go well under a penalty. Bolted up in a first-time visor here last week (5f); well in under a penalty; good chance. |

5th (3) (9/4 +44%)Vince Lombardi |
9/4(+44%) | (3) Vince Lombardi 9/4, Scored by a length off a 4lb lower mark here three starts back and ran to form when second last time. Trainer in form. Effective over 6/7f on all-weather and still capable off this mark. Two 6f Tapeta wins this autumn and good runs in defeat on last two starts; solid claims. |

7th (2) (9/2 +63%)Phoenix Of Dreams |
9/2(+63%) | (2) Phoenix Of Dreams 9/2, Below form when beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Pontefract last time. Returns from a short break after a wind operation. Effective over 6/7f but can be inconsistent and needs to settle better. Had wind op since last seen; down in class but not entirely convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (80/1 -142%)Honour Your Dreams |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Honour Your Dreams 80/1, Below summer best when 7l third in a handicap at Brighton on latest outing. Returning from a break. Effective at 5/6f and now 4lb below last winning mark, so could go well. Yet to shine for new stable and looks up against it in this field. |

The application of a visor appeared to work the oracle for AY GEE ELL here a week ago. He won with any amount in hand over the minimum trip and looks worth sticking with given Ethan Tindall's allowance negates a 6lb penalty. Vince Lombardi arrives in fine fettle and looks a safe proposition to run his race once again, while Blackjack and Tokyo Joe could fight it out for the remaining place.

A visor transformed AY GEE ELL here last week and he can make light of his penalty. Vince Lombardi looks best of the rest.

EHTEYAT ran a couple of solid races over shorter trips after his impressive victory at Listowel. He was most recently seen running a big race to finish third to Slurricane in a competitive event at Galway in late October and should appreciate going further again now. He won twice on the all-weather in England so this surface shouldn't be an issue. Voice Of Reason obviously commands respect having won his last two here. They both came over a mile and a half and this trip is a slight worry. Jerandme is a dual C&D winner and ran well on his return to Dundalk three weeks ago. He's another for the shortlist.

The 11yo JERANDME did well to take third off a steady pace over C&D here last time and he can do better in a more suitably run race

May come on for that latest outing. 6yo who is 1-17 on AW and was tailed off on reappearance over C&D last month. |

POWERFUL RESPONSE has won at this track previously and it's surely just a matter of time before he gets back in the winning groove judged on a pair of second-placed efforts here last month. Mercurius Power could be one for the each-way player but the main danger is Tasever, who has been running really well without winning here of late.

The vote goes to POWERFUL RESPONSE, who had a near miss over C&D last month and is only 1lb higher on this drop back in grade.

13th (9) (22/1 -57%)Neo Smart |
22/1(-57%) | (9) Neo Smart 22/1, Ran to form when beaten 5l in a handicap at The Curragh last time. Off a short break; effective from 7f to 8f on the all-weather though unproven on quick ground. Remains competitive. Modest record on turf of 1-25 but she's a perfect 1-1 on the AW; not a great draw. |

NIKKI SWANGO has been in great form here of late and may be able to bag another win before the handicapper gets to grips with her. The Galileo Gold filly was a cosy winner over C&D 16 days ago and is fancied to defy a 7lb rise. Ocean Manifest gained an overdue maiden win here last month and that confidence booster may have done him good. The form has been boosted with the runner-up winning since. Little Empire has posted two solid placed efforts over shorter trips since winning over C&D last month. He's another to consider back at 7f.

PHOENIX PAIRC had excuses when down the field on handicap bow last time and she previously saw off the progressive Ocean Manifest

SHERLOCK has yet get his head in front although not for the want of trying. Kevin Ryan's charge finished runner-up in a tougher handicap over a mile here last time and the application of first-time cheekpieces may bring the modicum of improvement needed to go one better. No Nay Nevermind is another looking to build on a recent second here, while Reenie's Dream will appreciate this return to 7f.

Most of these have plenty to prove but SHERLOCK was a good second over 1m here ten days ago and is a big player if he can back that up.

200/1(-60%) | (8) Nelliestar 200/1, No worthwhile form; yet to find suitable conditions; impossible to fancy. Failed to beat a rival home in five starts since 2022; readily passed over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (40/1 -371%)Seti One |
40/1(-371%) | (6) Seti One 40/1, Went clear but made too much use of when down the field in a maiden here most recent; off a short break; effective at 10f; inconsistent. Some initial promise; tailed off on AW debut (10.5f) when last seen; plenty to prove. |

PRETTY OMAGH GIRL has useful ability and ran well over C&D last month. Out of an American stakes-placed mare, she ran well on her Curragh debut in June and although then absent for 154 days, she returned with a fine effort here. That form is good, with the third scoring subsequently. Leopold The First is well suited by the all-weather and having run well in a recent handicap, should again figure. Carrara showed ability in France and, surely better than her two Irish runs, now debuts on the all-weather.

Dermot Weld's TINA'S CHARM remains of interest in new headgear and the jockey-trainer combination won this corresponding race last year

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (13/2 +46%)Desert Master |
13/2(+46%) | (8) Desert Master 13/2, Again below form when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Wears a visor for the first time. Suited by 5f and acts on AW. Needs to rediscover form. C&D winner; close fourth over C&D in September but hasn't shone here more recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/4 +10%)Shatin Venture |
9/4(+10%) | (7) Shatin Venture 9/4, Ran to form beaten 3/4l off this mark here last time; effective at 5f on AW; competitive mark still. Won C&D classified in March and in good form over C&D on last two starts; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 -8%)Azucena |
7/1(-8%) | (3) Azucena 7/1, Not far off form when beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Suited by 5f and acts on AW. An in-and-out performer. Close fourth over C&D in October but two lesser runs have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (3/1 +14%)Ramon Di Loria |
3/1(+14%) | (2) Ramon Di Loria 3/1, Scored by a short-head off a 1lb lower mark here in September; ran to form when fourth last time; trainer in form; effective 5-7f, acts on any, likes give; fair mark still. Two-time C&D winner who has run well here on last two starts; can be bang there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (15/2 -173%)Lady Bouquet |
15/2(-173%) | (5) Lady Bouquet 15/2, Given a good front-running ride when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on AW. Should go well. Returned to form to make all at 25-1 at Wolverhampton recently and entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (6/1 +33%)Wee Mary |
6/1(+33%) | (4) Wee Mary 6/1, Showed little from off the pace when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time. Top course jockey booked and returns from a short break. Suited by 5f and acts on AW. Poor of late. 0-12 but on a handy mark but denied clear passage on stable debut over C&D in October. |

SHATIN VENTURE landed a classified sprint over C&D back in March. He posted his best effort since when finishing a close third back here last time and the son of Profitable remains of interest off an unchanged mark. Lady Bouquet made all over 6f at Wolverhampton so this shorter trip may not prove too much of an inconvenience, while Ramon Di Loria could make the frame.

Jim Goldie's new recruit WEE MARY didn't get a clear crack at things on her stable debut and can take advantage of an attractive mark.

Still on a workable mark and should remain competitive. C&D h'cap winner here last time and should go close again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/4 +10%)Fixation |
9/4(+10%) | (8) Fixation 9/4, Ran to form when benefiting from a drop in class on handicap debut, winning a handicap here by a neck last time. Effective over 8–10f and acts on good and all-weather surfaces. Progressing and still on a workable mark. Winner over 1m2f here last time; well drawn and should be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -13%)Diego El Queso |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Diego El Queso 9/2, Travelled well but found little, up in trip and didn't stay when well beaten in a Chelmsford handicap last time. Previously in good form; effective over 7/8f and acts on soft, good, and all-weather surfaces. Likely to do better now dropped back in distance. C&D m'den winner and went close on h'cap debut here next time; good claimer aboard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (8/1 -33%)Daler |
8/1(-33%) | (5) Daler 8/1, A bit below form up in class back in a handicap when beaten 5 1/4l here last time. Previously in good form; effective over 7/8f and acts on good and all-weather surfaces. In solid form before that effort. Comfortable C&D winner in Oct' and big player if at his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (22/1 +33%)Rockbury Lad |
22/1(+33%) | (10) Rockbury Lad 22/1, Below form up in class when down the field in a Punchestown handicap most recently. Off a short break; effective over 8–9f and a sound surface suits. Consistent until latest effort. Returns from a break and a fair bit to find at these weights; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (15/2 +12%)Oiche Rua |
15/2(+12%) | (12) Oiche Rua 15/2, Returned to form when winning a handicap here by a neck last time. Effective over 7–8f and acts on soft, good, and all-weather surfaces. Recent form has been franked though a revised mark demands more. Not ruled out following third Flat win here last time over 7f by a neck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 +8%)Charming Whisper |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Charming Whisper 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l in a handicap here last time. Suited by 10f and likes a sound surface. Mark looks stiff enough for new yard. Five-time winner on turf was an eyecatcher over 1m2f here last time; can go well. |

33/1(-32%) | (9) Albion Power 33/1, No obvious excuse when finishing down the field in a claimer here most recently. Effective over 7–8f and suited by the all-weather. Inconsistent of late. C&D winner in Oct' but ran disappointingly in a claimer here last time; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (33/1 +18%)Solomon Coop |
33/1(+18%) | (11) Solomon Coop 33/1, Never competitive after missing the break when down the field in a Cork handicap most recently. Off a short break; effective over 8–10f but looks on a stiff mark. Poor in four runs following h'cap success in May; needs to be back at best following break. |

FIXATION landed a sizeable gamble for new connections here and can defy a 7lb hike now dropping back in trip. Johnny Murtagh's three-year-old showed nice ability when runner-up at Leopardstown in August, with both the winner and third scoring subsequently. Soft ground might have been his undoing at Cork but having scored on his first run following a break last month, he can continue to progress. Far From Dandy won over C&D last month and having also been raised 7lb, should figure. Oiche Rua scored over 7f here last month but has form at a mile and is another with claims, from a 5lb higher mark.

A lot in with chances, but DIEGO EL QUESO has been in good form over C&D and can bag his second career win

3/1(+0%) | (5) Little Mi Mi 3/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off this mark here last time; effective 5/6f, acts on G and AW; respected on recent form. 0-14 but runner-up on last two starts (C&D latest); a first win may be imminent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 -5%)Chief Of State |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Chief Of State 7/2, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off this mark at Redcar last time. Suited by 5f, stays 6f, and acts on all-weather; needs to back up that latest effort. In good heart on turf when last seen; strong claims if reproducing that form back on AW. |

16/1(-14%) | (8) Northerner 16/1, Didn't find much when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Suited by 5f and acts on any surface; all to prove at present. Soundly beaten here on her last three starts and is now 0-16. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (40/1 -21%)Back Tomorrow |
40/1(-21%) | (7) Back Tomorrow 40/1, Below form after pulling hard when beaten 4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Trainer in form; usually held up; suited by 5/6f and acts well on all-weather; needs to break on level terms and settle. Completed Tapeta hat-trick in January; well handicapped but needs to get back on track. |

Chief Of State has been thereabouts over 6f on the turf and is no forlorn hope back over the minimum trip. Lady Of The Garr could launch a challenge off her current mark, but it could finally be the turn of LITTLE MI MI. The daughter of Dandy Man has been threatening to open her account of late and, having finished runner-up here last time with Henery Hawk back in fourth, she gets the vote.

Having been knocking firmly at the door, LITTLE MI MI is taken to get off the mark at the 15th attempt. Chief Of State is feared.

50/1(-52%) | (10) Waystar 50/1, No obvious excuse when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective from 12f to 13f on a sound surface; currently out of form. Sole win was over C&D in March from 3lb higher mark; recent form leaves much to be desired. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

7/1(+0%) | (5) Colugo 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off this mark here last time. Effective from 7f to 11f on all-weather; her latest course and distance run makes her of interest. Hit the front too soon when third over 10.5f here nine days ago; should stay this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 +0%)Captain Hanley |
8/1(+0%) | (3) Captain Hanley 8/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap at Roscommon last time after a short break. Effective from 10f to 12f on a sound surface; in decent form but still a maiden. Okay fifth on penultimate; didn't enjoy soft at Roscommon; chance back on AW. |

10/1(+38%) | (4) Desert Friend 10/1, Keen and did too much too soon when beaten 7l in a handicap here last time. Effective up to 13f and acts on all-weather; has lost his form of late. Fifth behind Numidia here (2m) on latest, racing keenly; not discounted dropping in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (15/2 +0%)Doctor Grace |
15/2(+0%) | (1) Doctor Grace 15/2, Ran to form in first-time visor when beaten 1/4l off a 2lb lower mark here last time. Trainer in form and effective from 10f to 13f. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (6/1 -20%)Aingeal Dorcha |
6/1(-20%) | (8) Aingeal Dorcha 6/1, Travelled well and was caught late after making a move early when beaten a short head off a 2lb lower mark here last time. Effective from 9f to 11f and best on all-weather; a 2lb rise looks lenient and could make amends for unlucky defeat. Headed right on the line when beaten a short head here (10.5f) nine days ago; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (33/1 +50%)Synchronize |
33/1(+50%) | (12) Synchronize 33/1, Poor flat return when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Can do better over middle to staying trips but has a bit to prove down in trip back on all-weather. Well behind in recent hurdle starts and failed to beat a rival home here 2 weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (14/1 -40%)Kartayaz |
14/1(-40%) | (11) Kartayaz 14/1, Returned to form when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Effective from 6f to 12f and acts on all-weather; up 4lb but well treated on best form, a threat though unreliable. First win in 3 years on latest and jockey's first ever winning ride; chance with a repeat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (9/4 +84%)Yup Bro |
9/4(+84%) | (6) Yup Bro 9/4, Made late headway and ran to form on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 10l in a handicap here last time. Effective over 10f to 11f and suited by all-weather; down 3lb and not ruled out. Good handicap debut here (10.5f) last month; could have more to offer now upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (33/1 +50%)Lady Christa |
33/1(+50%) | (7) Lady Christa 33/1, Again below 2024 form when tried in a tongue-tie and beaten 8/4l in a handicap here last time. Cheekpieces first time; effective from 10f to 12f; hard to fancy. Won over this trip last year; nothing in four runs for this yard; cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (33/1 +50%)Carslake |
33/1(+50%) | (13) Carslake 33/1, Did too much too soon when beaten 7l in a claimer here last time. Effective from 12f to 16f and best on all-weather; out of form and impossible to fancy. Longstanding dual-purpose maiden was midfield in C&D claimer nine days ago; hard to fancy. |

COLUGO has been running well and it is hoped she can progress now stepping up to this distance. Initially rated 72 back in March, she is well suited by the all-weather and competes from the same rating as when third here nine days ago, but with her rider now claiming 5lb. Rock Ya Boy Ya has shown improvement to complete a hurdling hat-trick but although rated just 41 and partnered by a 10b claimer for this Flat return, he worryingly has failed to place in nine previous all-weather starts. Four-time course winner Kartayaz scored here recently and steps up in trip.

A wide-open affair but perhaps COLUGO can deservedly shed the maiden tag at the 16th time of asking after a couple of strong efforts

11/1(-69%) | (2) Final Voyage 11/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Effective from 8f to 10f and acts on all-weather. 4th (3) (11/4 +66%)Take Heart |
11/4(+66%) | (3) Take Heart 11/4, Found little after making a move, beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark at York last time. Returns from a short break. Effective at 10f and acts on all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (6/1 +63%)Old Peculier |
6/1(+63%) | (6) Old Peculier 6/1, Raced freely and ran well for a long way when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time, returning from a lengthy layoff. Previously in good form. Effective from 8f to 12f and acts well on all-weather. Could build on his reappearance and looks very interesting. Landed hat-trick here last winter; looked in need of the run after absence on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (40/1 -43%)Pepper Noir |
40/1(-43%) | (11) Pepper Noir 40/1, Went clear but made too much use of the early pace and needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap here last time. Effective from 10f to 12f and suited by the all-weather. Was in good form before her last couple of runs and has a bit to prove. Could go well from the front with the run under her belt but 3lb wrong at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (4/1 -20%)Nakasero |
4/1(-20%) | (8) Nakasero 4/1, Ran to form when beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark here last time. Effective at around 1m and acts on all-weather. Generally consistent though this mark looks a little stiff. Narrowly denied over C&D this month (Genoah fourth); should go well from 1lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (25/1 -56%)Money Dancer |
25/1(-56%) | (10) Money Dancer 25/1, Ran to form but was comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Wexford last time. Returns from a short break. Effective at 2m and suited by cut, though her best efforts have come under National Hunt rules. Dual-purpose filly; easy hurdle winner at Galway in September; makes AW debut; 2lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (14/1 +36%)Beauparc |
14/1(+36%) | (9) Beauparc 14/1, Had every chance but ran below form when well beaten in a handicap at The Curragh last time. Trainer in form and returns from a break. Effective from 10f to 12f and acts on all-weather. Progressed steadily over middle distances but the handicapper may have caught up. Has impressive form figures on AW so can't discount after a short break; 2lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (20/1 +9%)Loyal Touch |
20/1(+9%) | (5) Loyal Touch 20/1, Disappointing on stable debut when needing the run, beaten 6l in a claimer here last time. Effective from 10f to 12f and acts on all-weather. Has a bit to prove for his new yard. First run for this yard when midfield in 1m4f claimer; difficult to assess at present. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (16/1 +0%)Dahab |
16/1(+0%) | (12) Dahab 16/1, Below form but with excuses when comfortably held in a maiden here last time. Had been in good form prior and returns from a long layoff. Effective from 8f to 11f and acts on all-weather. Could have a say if back to his best. Hit the frame in four maidens for Denis Hogan; stable/handicap debut; 336-day absence. |

TAKE HEART debuts for new connections and should go close, with his rating slipping throughout the year. The winner of a valuable Goodwood handicap in July 2024, he has competed well in other smart races and although he has been off for a couple of months, he was once rated 99, is well suited by surface and distance, and his rider claims 3lb. Quatre Bras has been running consistently well and while probably not ahead of the handicapper, should again compete. Nakasero is 1lb higher following a narrow defeat over C&D, and he is now partnered by a 7lb claimer.

GENOAH was behind Nakasero on latest but is fancied to reverse the form given that was his first run since May

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
