A 5lb rise in the ratings for LET'S GO JOE's victory at Doncaster last month looks more than workable and a third career triumph could be on the cards. The six-year-old has improved with each outing this year and he may be able to repel chief threat The Big Breac. The Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith-trained gelding posted his best effort under Rules when runner-up at Hexham 16 days ago, while Glengolly is also noted.

This is wide open but the vote goes to GLENGOLLY who shaped well on his stable debut when fifth at Doncaster and can build on it here off a reduced mark. Let's Go Joe, who scored at Doncaster that day, is feared most, although Geordie Night, Perculator and Star Vantage all need factoring into this very open contest too.

Let's Go Joe is feared but the stoutly bred GLENGOLLY could be a sharp improver over this longer distance.

Julius Des Pictons justified his short odds to score at the second time of asking for Jamie Snowden at Plumpton and he should mount another bold bid, despite his 6lb penalty. However, the vote goes to SHADE OF WINTER, who made the frame on his first start in this sphere over C&D and is likely to have plenty more to offer. With normal improvement, he can get off the mark. Clap Of Thunder is the pick of the remainder.

CLAP OF THUNDER shaped quite well in a warm Cheltenham handicap last month and might be up to defying a penalty with further progress likely. Evan Williams tasted success in this race a couple of years ago and his Shade of Winter is respected after making a sound start to his hurdling career over C&D last month. Yhprum's Law and Tom Lacey's Piper Park are others who could have a say.

Clap Of Thunder and Julius Des Pictons have shown fairly useful hurdling form but SHADE OF WINTER can improve past both.

GALILEO DAME was the pick of these on the Flat and hopefully will take well to hurdles. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly won a Leopardstown maiden earlier this year and has been quite highly tried since, including when runner-up behind Hamish in a 1m4f Curragh Listed race. Last Kingdom won a 1m4f French bumper in August and is another interesting recruit to hurdles, along with Pepper Noir, who has gained two recent wins when upped to 1m4f at Dundalk. Wendrock was placed on both Flat outings for Lucinda Russell before fetching 82,000gns and boasts the best piece of hurdles form, when placed behind Total Look at Navan last month.

GALILEO DAME is taken to follow in the footsteps of stablemate Intellotto, who made a winning hurdles debut in this 12 months ago. The Galileo Gold filly ended her Flat campaign by chasing home smart performers in 1½m listed events at Naas and the Curragh during the autumn and, if she takes to this game, she could be a real force in the juvenile hurdle division. Wendrock shaped very well indeed on his debut in this sphere at Navan and is feared most ahead of French bumper winner Last Kingdom.

Preference is for WENDROCK who ran a promising race behind a subsequent maiden winner on his hurdles debut at Navan.

SAINTE TARTARE can go one better on her second outing for Willie Mullins. The Saint des Saints mare ran freely on her Irish debut at Tramore last month and was collared in the closing stages by The Great Nudie. The winner has run respectably in a Listed event since. With the run under her belt, Sainte Tartare may settle a bit better now. Barnahash Primrose had some strong bumper form and could the danger on her hurdling debut. The Malinas mare was third in Grade 2 company at Leopardstown's Dublin Racing Festival. Uhavemeinstitches improved when runner-up at Clonmel and is another who has to be on the shortlist.

This should boil down to just a few, with SAINTE TARTARE hard to get away from after her promising second at Tramore on debut. Uhavemeinstitches is the obvious danger if backing up her Clonmel performance. Rue Taylor completes the shortlist.

Uhavemeinstitches looks a lovely prospect but she may find another Mullins horse too strong in the shape of SAINTE TARTARE

A return to 2m should see Kingston James in a better light after failing to see out 2m4f on his last two outings. However, smart Flat performer SOLENT GATEWAY ticks plenty of the right boxes now debuting over hurdles and he may take some stopping if taking to this discipline. Maghlaak has failed to threaten on his three appearances over timber, but he may fare best of the remainder.

A fairly useful winner on the Flat, MAGHLAAK caught the eye when staying on for fourth at Sedgefield 3 weeks ago and he is taken to build on that effort to open his hurdles account. Kingston James could bounce back in a first-time hood and is feared most, ahead of hurdling-debutant Solent Gateway.

Preference is for useful Flat stayer SOLENT GATEWAY, who has been found a winnable race for his hurdle debut.
Class & Speed Card

PASSING KATE returned to winning ways in smart style at Leicester on her comeback and she is only 8lb higher for that triumph. Matt Sheppard's seven-year-old is fancied to complete a double, with her main threat possibly recent Ascot scorer King William Rufus, who carries a 7lb penalty but it would be no surprise to see him get into contention. Gold For Alec is the best of the rest.

If KING WILLIAM RUFUS is in the same form as when dominating another big-field handicap at Ascot last Friday he'll likely take a bit of pegging back. Gold For Alec has made a positive start to his handicap career in recent months and is second choice ahead of fellow 4-y-o Razzle Dazzle Boy, whose latest Sandown defeat of Fasol looks solid.

It's worth chancing CASTELFORT, who was a fairly useful juvenile last season and will find this much easier than Newbury last time.

IT'S FOR ME may prove the pick of four runners from Willie Mullins' yard. The point-to-point winner was also a smart sort in bumpers and made a successful start over hurdles when beating Caldwell Potter in a 22-runner Punchestown maiden over a year ago. The French-bred is without a run since but remains a gelding of considerable potential. Lisnagar Fortune also won a Punchestown maiden hurdle in good style, while Shanbally Kid, third in the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, has failed to impress with his jumping in two chase starts. There is little to choose between Galway Hurdle winner Nurburgring and Birdie Or Bust on running behind Down Memory Lane at Navan, while What's Up Darling and Western Diego are others to consider.

This has the makings of an informative race and BIRDIE OR BUST could be the answer. She signed off her novice hurdle campaign by finishing third in a Grade 2 at the Cheltenham Festival and wasn't far behind Nurburgring, who had race-fitness on his side, when fourth on chase debut at Navan. Nurburgring is a much-respected main danger, while It's For Me, who took the notable scalp of Caldwell Potter on his sole hurdles start 13 months ago, is a fascinating chasing debutant.

NURBURGRING gets weight from his older rivals, he has shaped with promise in both chase starts and JJ Slevin is back on board

Nardaran was purchased for 135,000 euros following his debut effort on the Flat when third at Saint-Cloud and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if the son of Waldgeist proved to be a useful recruit to this discipline. Inappropriate made a winning start to his hurdling career at Newcastle, but the form can be questioned and the vote, therefore, goes to RISK IT ALL. The yard boasts a fine record with juveniles and this doesn't look to be the strongest of renewals on paper.

Paul Nicholls took this race in 2021 with Iceo and NARDARAN could be another good prospect for the yard having changed hands for €135,000 in July after showing promise on his sole outing on the Flat. He gets the nod ahead of Inappropriate, who created a good impression in coming from last to first in a steadily-run race at Newcastle on his hurdling debut. Midnight Rumble is in good hands and is also of interest.

Potentially useful recruit NARDARAN is taken to enhance the excellent record of hurdles/British debutants in this race.

James Smith takes a useful 7lb off the back of top-weight BIG DEBATES and he looks to have a big shout in this company. The Sholokhov gelding ran much better back over fences when fourth in the Cork Grand National early last month and remains on the same mark. Weihnachts comes here in winning form, but that was back in April. The Beat Hollow gelding won well at Down Royal, when up in trip, and is capable off this kind of mark. He is one of three in the JP McManus colours. Donkey Years is another to note for local trainer Eric McNamara.

BIG DEBATES caught the eye when finishing strongly in the Cork National and can strike back in trip with a promising conditional up. Donkey Years is on a good mark back chasing, while the returning Weihnachts can go well after scoring at Down Royal when last seen in the spring.

BIG DEBATES hasn't won in two years but a repeat of his Cork Grand National fourth should suffice in a weak contest.
Class & Speed Card

Useful Flat performer CAMPAIGN TRAIL made a seamless transition to hurdling when scoring at Doncaster last month, on what was also his first start for the Kim Bailey team. The son of Mastercraftsman wouldn't appear to have much more on his plate under a penalty here, and he can find improvement to go in again. Mr Mistoffelees was no slouch on the level either and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the betting on his NH debut, although point-to-point winner Idaho Valley might be the bigger threat.

CAMPAIGN TRAIL, a progressive stayer on the Flat, overcame a lengthy absence in tidy fashion on his Doncaster hurdling debut last month and looks to have been found a good opportunity under a penalty. Idaho and Lawrenny can battle it out for minor honours.

Three-time Flat winner CAMPAIGN TRAIL made an impressive start to his jumps career at Doncaster and can make it 2-2 in this code.

Venetia Williams has a fine record in this race so Georges Saint has to be considered on his return to the fray. LOWRY'S BAR has the more scope for improvement, though, and confirmed the promise of his chasing debut second when going one better in determined fashion at Exeter. He excels when the ground is testing so conditions could be perfect for him. Le Milos has been in the handicapper's grip since lifting the 2022 Coral Gold Cup, but his latest Newbury fourth was a bit better.

With so much to like about his profile, improving novice LOWRY'S BAR looks the way to go. Georges Saint is the type to bounce back.

Venetia Williams has won four of the last nine runnings of this race and the reappearing GEORGES SAINT earns the vote.
Class & Speed Card

DINOBLUE was a model of consistency last season, including when taking this race in decisive fashion, and should benefit from her reappearance behind Energumene at Cork. Stablemate Gaelic Warrior is the obvious threat and impressed when easily beating Found A Fifty in the Arkle at Cheltenham. However, he did disappoint at this venue last term and is probably best suited by a right-handed track. Found A Fifty has won all three outings since that Cheltenham Festival reverse and beat Solness (now 7lb worse off) by a neck over 2m at Navan last month. 2023 Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Marine Nationale had a curtailed campaign over fences last season and should progress from his reappearance at Naas last month.

DINOBLUE was the Willie Mullins first-string when winning this race last year and while that won't be the case this time round with Gaelic Warrior on the prowl, she has race-fitness on her side having chasing home another classy stablemate in Energumene on her recent reappearance at Cork and will be spot-on for this assignment. Gaelic Warrior was so impressive when brushing Found A Fifty aside in the Arkle and, if able to deliver a performance akin to that, he will obviously be a big threat.

GAELIC WARRIOR was a spectacular winner of last year's Arkle and if he reproduces that level of form, he'll be very hard to beat.
Class & Speed Card

DELLA CASA LUNGA improved plenty from her return at Bangor with a decent second here in Listed company last time, and the step back up in trip may see the six-year-old get back to winning ways. Pawapuri shaped in need of her reappearance when a place behind the selection here and is unexposed stepping up in distance. Royale Margaux may represent some each-way value.

The presence of WEST BALBOA keeps a trio of these out of the handicap and while she hasn't been at her best this term (started out over fences) she can call upon plenty of very solid form in better races than this. She therefore receives the vote in favour of Royale Margaux and Larchmont Lass.

The in-form ROYALE MARGAUX could be favoured by the step up in trip and is the selection ahead of Della Casa Lunga.
Class & Speed Card

BIOLUMINESCENCE is an exciting prospect over fences. The Walk In The Park mare was impressive when winning a Grade 3 over timber here in March and it's no surprise to see her back for an ease in the ground. She disappointed on her last start in Grade 1 company at Fairyhouse, but her future has always looked to be over fences. Shecouldbeanything is the one to beat on chase form. She was far from disgraced, despite finishing last, in the Drinmore at the start of the month and already has a Listed and Grade 3 win under her belt. Paggane was a decent sort over hurdles, but needs to improve for a fence to beat the aforementioned pair.

BIOLUMINESCENCE is very much the type to do well over fences and is taken to make a successful start. Shecouldbeanything had her wings clipped in a Fairyhouse Grade 1 against the males last month but should bounce back. Kiltealy Park did it nicely at Clonmel and isn't discounted up in trip.

BIOLUMINESCENCE won a Grade 3 hurdle here and she bolted up on her sole point outing so is expected to improve sent chasing.

Having found only a progressive chaser too strong at Kelso earlier in the month, DARE TO SHOUT holds leading claims in this small-field affair. A 1lb rise in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold showing from Ann Hamilton's charge and compensation could be on the cards. Grand Albert made a promising chase bow when third to the highly-touted Caldwell Potter at Carlisle 26 days ago and he's feared most, ahead of The Four Sixes.

DARE TO SHOUT has improved switched to fences this season and holds solid claims as he bids to resume winning ways. Grand Albert made a decent start in this sphere when third at Carlisle and is the obvious threat stepping back up in trip.

The 6yo GRAND ALBERT ran a nice first race in this discipline and he's up to a more suitable trip for his handicap debut.
Class & Speed Card

Nietzsche Has found only one too strong in a Grade 1 at Auteuil last month and the French raider looks likely to launch a serious challenge, but is taken on with OPEC. James Owen's progressive filly won a Listed race in fine style at Newbury and is a full-sister to the smart Allmankind, who won this contest in 2019. Static went agonisingly close in Listed company at Wetherby before chasing home Triumph Hurdle fancy East India Dock at Cheltenham, while Hot Fuss is not totally discounted either.

NIETZSCHE HAS is clear on form and can become the first French-trained winner of this since 2006. Opec hasn't done anything wrong and is second choice ahead of Melon, who looked potentially useful when sluicing up at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago.

French challenger NIETZSCHE HAS was second in a Grade 1 at Auteuil last time and that's a persuasive piece of form.
Class & Speed Card

ROMEO COOLIO had Sea Of Sands staying on about three lengths back in third when beaten at odds-on in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse last time. The Kayf Tara gelding, a smart bumper performer last season, was a wide-margin winner on his hurdling debut at Down Royal and is given another chance to show his class. Stablemate Bleu De Vassy has impressed on both hurdle starts this term, including when staying on strongly to land a Grade 3 over this trip at Navan last month. Karniquet is certainly in the 'could be anything' bracket after an easy win on his Irish debut at Tramore, while Karafon also won with some authority at Clonmel.

Though this represents a big step up in class, KARNIQUET may well take it in his stride having looked a fine prospect when making a winning start for his powerful new connections in a Tramore maiden last month. Gordon Elliott fields two strong candidates in Romeo Coolio and Bleu de Vassy, with the former marginally preferred of the duo, despite failing to land the odds in the Royal Bond last time. The selection's stablemates Karafon and Sea of Sands should also make their presence felt.

A tentative vote goes to KARAFON who always looked like the winner in the closing stages at Clonmel and ran with credit here last term
Class & Speed Card

Two of the brightest prospects in the division clash with Ballyburn and SIR GINO taking centre stage. Willie Mullins takes the unusual approach to send a top-notch novice prospect over before Cheltenham and Ballyburn's chasing debut at Punchestown was safe without being spectacular. The return to the minimum distance against a rival in the calibre of Sir Gino will need him to be a lot sharper in the jumping department and Nicky Henderson's four-year-old, already a comfortable winner of the Fighting Fifth this season, has reportedly schooled very well over fences. Rubaud looks booked for third.

A mouthwatering clash between perhaps the most exciting horses on either side of the Irish Sea, with narrow preference on this occasion given to BALLYBURN, who produced a near-faultless display sent chasing at Punchestown last month, though Sir Gino is almost certainly the most formidable rival he'll have faced in any sphere to date and Nicky Henderson's Fighting Fifth winner should prove top-class now making the switch to chasing. Rubaud, a horse of some talent himself, can finish third.

The chase experience BALLYBURN gained at Punchestown gives him the edge over Sir Gino in a truly heavyweight clash.
Class & Speed Card

This looks like a nice opportunity for KILCRUIT on his return from a lengthy absence. The Stowaway gelding hasn't been seen since a beaten favourite in the Galway Plate in August 2023. He hasn't quite reached the heights that he promised when runner-up in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper, and winning the Grade 1 contest at Punchestown, but has some smart form nonetheless and could prove the class act in this. Stablemate Jalila Moriviere is an interesting rival. The Joshua Tree filly was last seen finishing second in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil in May. Karl Des Tourelles ran well in handicap company at Punchestown last time and is another to consider.

JALILA MORIVIERE quickly got to grips with hurdling in France, running a cracker behind a promising one at Auteuil when last seen, and she could be the way to go in this tricky contest. Stablemate Kilcruit is feared most ahead of Karl des Tourelles.

KARL DES TOURELLES, who went close in a good 3m Punchestown handicap when last seen, is the most solid option in this contest.
Class & Speed Card

A winner at Ffos Las in November, Woodie Flash ran well again when second in a competitive handicap at Newbury but has been raised a further 5lb. Major Fortune is another with a bit to prove off his current mark, so a chance is taken on PHANTOMOFTHEPOINTS. The David Pipe-trained six-year-old finished a creditable third in a Grade 3 handicap hurdle at Haydock last time and a repeat effort could see him bang there at the finish. Tune In A Box may prove best of the rest.

A good handicap, featuring a few on the up. WOODIE FLASH gets the vote but Phantomofthepoints, Tune In A Box and Madaket, who was a place behind the selection at Newbury, have similarly progressive profiles. Bill Baxter's latest Uttoxeter second also shows he can be very competitive from his lower hurdle mark.

In a competitive renewal, preference is for TUNE IN A BOX who looks set for more success judged on his run at Cheltenham six weeks ago.
Class & Speed Card

Cruden recorded a narrow win at Cork on his hurdles debut in October and he is of considerable interest now in the care of James Ewart, but HOSAAMM gets the vote. The son of Zoffany achieved a peak rating of 93 on the Flat before finishing second on his hurdling bow at Catterick earlier this month. The three-year-old ought to have learnt plenty from that experience and he is taken to go one place better. Belcamo and Fine Point are others to consider.

HOSAAMM looked in need of the experience when second starting out over hurdles at Catterick and, given his Flat ability, above-average improvement is surely forthcoming. Livano Bello is also open to progress so is second choice, ahead of Cruden, who must carry a penalty.

Fairly useful Flat racer HOSAAMM took well enough to the new discipline at Catterick to suggest he could go one better today.
Class & Speed Card

ETHICAL DIAMOND is a useful sort on the Flat and may now open his account over hurdles switching to handicap company after a break of six months and fitted with a hood for the first time. He was bought for 320,000gns after winning a Limerick maiden and only gave best in the closing stages last time when placed in a 1m4f handicap at Royal Ascot. Enniskerry had Suprise Package three lengths behind when runner-up to UK raider Washington in a valuable handicap at Fairyhouse, while Batman Girac was highly tried last season and may benefit from this switch to a handicap. Special Cadeau has shown promise in maidens, while Pinot Gris, Lieber Nicc and Cheltenham Festival winner Lark In The Mornin are others for the shortlist.

Cases can be made for any number of these but few arrive here in better form than WEE CHARLIE, who has sprouted wings since joining this yard and the way he went through the race when runner-up at Thurles recently strongly suggested that he is still ahead of his mark. Unexposed trio Diamond Nora, Ethical Diamond and Pinot Gris are all feared (in that order of preference), while Enniskerry and Lieber Nicc are also appealing. Jacovec Cavern hails from a shrewd yard and needs a second look, too.

DIAMOND NORA got her head back in front at Limerick on return and the form is working out; she's entitled to come on for that run
Class & Speed Card

Boothill (second) got the better of Edwardstone (third) when the pair met in the Shloer chase at Cheltenham last month, and the former can confirm his superiority over that rival once again. That said, MARTATOR is fancied to come out on top. Venetia Williams' seven-year-old impressed when scoring comfortably over 2m1f at Ascot latest and there is no telling where his ceiling may be at this stage.

MARTATOR showed no signs of his progression coming to a halt when bringing up the 5-timer in fine style at Ascot 5 weeks ago and, despite the handicapper applying further pressure, Venetia Williams' 7-y-o could well be up the task. Edwardstone, having a rare crack in a handicap in this sphere, and Boothill head up the dangers, with Editeur du Gite another not dismissed lightly returned to this C&D from a much-reduced mark.

It is hard to see MARTATOR (nap) being far away, with Sans Bruit the danger. Look out for money for Editeur Du Gite.
Class & Speed Card

STRUTTER is an interesting recruit for Willie Mullins. The Racinger gelding won a handicap hurdle for Nicky Henderson when last seen at Uttoxeter in May and is still relatively unexposed. There may be a bit to work with off his mark of 104. Optional Mix won this race off the same mark a couple of years ago and ran a solid race at Thurles last time. She could be the danger. Doyen For A Drink won on her first outing for Ger O'Leary before a decent effort over fences at Tramore. She's another for the shortlist.

There is a good chance STRUTTER remains ahead of his mark starting out for Willie Mullins and he gets the vote over 2022-winner Optional Mix and Billy Lee Swagger.

The eyes are drawn to Strutter but the last time SUNDIAL (nap) ran in cheekpieces, he finished fourth in the Boodles at Cheltenham
Class & Speed Card

Following a facile triumph over 2m1f at Kelso, PAY THE PIPER had to settle for the silver medal off his revised mark over the extended 2m3f here last month. However, this drop back in trip will suit and he is taken to record a second track-and-trip victory, possibly at the main expense of fellow course winner Parisencore, who has been running well in defeat. Harper's Brook hinted at a return to form when runner-up at Newbury last week.

Supporting HARPER'S BROOK may not be for the faint-hearted but he is nevertheless appealing having returned to form when second to an unexposed 5-y-o at Newbury last time. That was just third third run for Dan Skelton (and his first since cheekpieces were refitted, headgear in which he had performed well on two of the three previous occasions worn) and he's on a winning mark. 2022 winner Malystic will be a threat if able to bounce back, while both Pay The Piper and Parisencore have claims, too.

The consistent PAY THE PIPER (nap) won twice in the autumn and earns the vote ahead of Parisencore.
Class & Speed Card

Runner-up last year behind a runaway winner, IRON BRIDGE returns off 6lb lower and may be value for a trainer who has won this twice. The eight-year-old's return third at Carlisle was encouraging and he gets the vote ahead of Galia Des Liteaux, who is much better than she showed in the Coral Gold Cup. She shaped well for a long way in the Grand National and finished second in the Classic Chase at Warwick last term. Unbeaten in three starts at this track and a stablemate of the selection, Monbeg Genius is 8lb better off with his Haydock conqueror Fontaine Collonges and could have a say. Jubilee Express was last seen scoring comfortably at Haydock in March, while Troytown winner Stuzzikini looks the pick of the Irish.

FONTAINE COLLONGES was better than ever when too strong for Monbeg Genius at Haydock and can add to the haul of valuable chase wins for Venetia Williams this winter. Iwilldoit's good record fresh and in this race makes him a possible threat with Callum Pritchard taking 7 lb off. His stablemate Jubilee Express has a very different profile as a lightly-raced 7-y-o but he looks progressive and this has likely been the target for a while. Gordon Elliott's Where It All Began completes the shortlist.

Kerry Lee's ATLANTA BRAVE (nap) catches the eye with the promise shown over 3m2f at Newbury this time last year, which is strong form.
Class & Speed Card

PANDA BOY can hopefully make it third-time lucky in this valuable handicap. The Martin Brassil-trained gelding won a 3m handicap hurdle at the Christmas Festival here in 2021 and has been placed in the latest two renewals of this race, including when runner-up to Meetingofthewaters (now 16lb worse off) 12 months ago. Stablemate Desertmore House had a nice prep for this over hurdles last time, while Will Do stayed well over hurdles and will benefit from this step up in trip on his handicap chase debut after just three runs over fences. Galway Plate winner Pinkerton, Nick Rockett, Perceval Legallois and Midnight Our Fred are others to consider in a wide-open event.

THREE CARD BRAG is armed with an appealing profile having shaped well on each of his three starts over fences last season, including when third to Spillane's Tower in a Punchestown Grade 1 during the spring. On that evidence he is starting off in a handicap on a fair mark and a recent spin over hurdles will have teed him up nicely for this. There could be more to come from Hgranca de Thaix this season and he is second choice ahead of Perceval Legallois and last year's winner Meetingofthewaters.

Gordon Elliott has solid claims in this with WILL DO (nap) who has been running well over shorter and should improve now handicapping

FRERO BANBOU stripped fitter for his reappearance sixth in the Grand Sefton at Aintree when running out a ready winner of a hot handicap chase at Newcastle most recently. That form has a strong look to it and the suspicion is that a 7lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Dreaming Blue impressed when making all over an extended 3m1f at Ludlow earlier this month and another bold bid off 3lb higher looks assured, while C&D winner Highstakesplayer is also noteworthy.

FRERO BANBOU added another big-race success to Venetia Williams' CV in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle last month and, remaining with handicapping scope even judged on last season's form, he's likely to prove a tough nut to crack. Dreaming Blue made it 3 wins from his last 4 starts at Ludlow recently, so he's put forward as the main danger, with Highstakesplayer and Weveallbeencaught taken to fight out minor honours.

Although FRERO BANBOU has been hard to place in recent times he was well suited by the step up to nearly 3m last time and can follow up.

MOUNT FERNS may be able to strike again back on softer ground. Conor McNamara reported that his mount didn't handle the better ground at Cork last month having won impressively on his first outing for the yard on easier going at Listowel. He could still be nicely treated. She's On Line was narrowly beaten on her last visit here and could be a danger, despite not showing that form at Musselburgh last time. Cheekpieces are tried now. Apologise was picked up for just 1,000 pounds at the sales in July and is an interesting one, with trainer Gary McGill making the long trip down from County Derry.

BRIDIE'S BEAU could be ready to take a big step forward now handicapping and gets the vote. Scarlet Purse has a similar profile and is one to note, while Mount Ferns can bounce back to form to get in the hunt.

Wide-open. BRIDIE'S BEAU has been quiet in his maidens but handicaps are now a better option and he showed promise in bumpers

The in-form Olly Murphy takes the wraps off a couple of expensive newcomers in the shape of Drayton Flyer (56,000 pounds) and Harbour Island (70,000 euros) and they must be respected. Full Force Gale repaid some of his 60,000-pound price tag by scoring first time out at Ffos Las, but he may struggle to successfully concede 7lb to BLUE BELLAMY, who stepped up on his Rules debut when a close second at Market Rasen.

HARBOUR ISLAND and Drayton Flyer are both appealing on pedigree and represent the same connections that do well in this sphere, so they might be the pair to concentrate on, with the first name marginally preferred. Blue Bellamy has experience and should go well again.

Brian Ellison's newcomer GEORDIE MACKEM gets a tentative vote, with Blue Bellamy and Full Force Gale also considered.
Class & Speed Card

DAVID'S WELL could not have done much more when landing the odds on his chase debut at Leicester and a 7lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Chris Gordon's charge is narrowly preferred to Dr T J Eckleburg, who drops in class having scored at Haydock last time out. Last year's winner Zambezi Fix and recent Carlisle scorer King Of Tara are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Quite a warm-looking handicap with KING OF TARA taken to follow up his smooth Carlisle success. David's Well, Dr T J Eckleburg and last year's winner Zambezi Fix should all be in the hunt too.

Topweight ZAMBEZI FIX stayed on well to win this race by 5l a year ago and is selected to defend his crown from the same mark.

ECLIPSE CHASER is out of a bumper winner who has already produced four useful winners, notably Grade 2 scorer Westerner Lady. The son of Jet Away was unlucky not to collect on his only point-to-point start when falling in the lead two out and riding arrangements suggest he's preferred to stable companion Leaky Cauldron, who won in good style between the flags for Colin Bowe last year. American Jukebox is a half-brother to American Mike and should benefit from his debut under Rules behind the selection's stablemate Full Confession at Fairyhouse last month. Karate Kid was supported on debut when staying on well behind Belle Le Grand at Fairyhouse.

Jockey bookings suggest that ECLIPSE CHASER is the Willie Mullins first-string and he is taken to make a winning Rules debut. The 4-y-o appeared to be holding all the aces when coming down at the second-last on his sole start between the flags in March. American Jukebox should come on for his spin at Fairyhouse last month and, with this stiffer test likely to be in his favour, he is feared most ahead of Eclipse Chaser's stablemate Leaky Cauldron. God Help Me is also shortlisted.

A chance is taken on GOD HELP ME. A 4l runner up in a Kirkistown point, that race has already produced two winners under Rules.
Class & Speed Card

Prior to his subdued effort in the Challow at Newbury last year, WILLMOUNT looked a novice hurdler potentially out of the top drawer. Nicky Henderson's charge was still going well when falling three out on his handicap debut at Cheltenham recently and, off an unchanged mark, he gets the vote to atone for that mishap and return to winning ways. Aucunrisque took advantage of a sliding mark when landing the spoils over 2m at Ascot last month and another bold showing looks likely nudged up 4lb. The unexposed Jet Powered and Valgrand are a couple of others to consider.

A strong 8-runner contest for the grade, and it will be fascinating to see how the market moves with a few talented horses returning from long absences. WILLMOUNT should have some race fitness on his side, having travelled well for a long way at Cheltenham before falling three out. Assuming he's none the worse for his tumble, he can confirm the promise he showed as a novice last year. Hansard is very much respected having gone well fresh in the past while Big Boy Bobby could outrun his odds.

Useful HANSARD, whose form last December reads well, is taken to defy top weight on his reappearance. Aucunrisque is second choice.

WARDENS WHISPER has run well on his last couple of outings and looks up to winning a race at this level. The Youmzain gelding chased home the well-backed Robbies Rock on his last outing at Cork, a fortnight ago, and a similar performance may be enough now. Bid Up made a couple of mistakes in the closing stages when fifth in that race and could be a danger on his second handicap outing. Therellbguddaysyet wasn't disgraced in Grade 3 company at Cork last time and doesn't look badly treated on his handicap debut. He's another for the shortlist.

WARDENS WHISPER is going the right way and can strike for his in-form yard. New York Style is interesting on her return for top connections, while 3-y-o Bid Up might not be far away again.

It will be interesting to see what the market thinks of the Charles Byrnes-trained ON YOUR WAY, whose best run came over C&D in October

Having won his last four races with more in hand than the winning margins may have suggested, HAVANA SKY has gone from strength to strength since reverting to the all-weather and a fifth consecutive success could be within his reach, despite him being 18lb above his mark when the winning run started last month. Fellow last-time-out winner Southbank commands respect under a 6lb penalty, while Apache Star lurks on a dangerous rating and cannot be ruled out on these terms.

HAVANA SKY has thrived since the headgear has been removed, making it 4 wins in a row when scoring over C&D last week, and he is taken to add to his tally in his current form. Southbank also carries a penalty and isn't taken lightly after his easy success at Chelmsford 8 days ago, with Outer Edge completing the shortlist.

The thriving Havana Sky isn't opposed lightly despite stall 12 but SOUTHBANK won easily last week and he can follow up.

CLUSTER ONE, who cost 80,000 euro as a yearling and is a half-brother to four winners on a variety of surfaces, runs for a yard with an impeccable record in juvenile races this year and could be well placed to make a winning debut. Enacting has hinted at ability and, having shown some improvement from his Kempton debut when upped to 1m at Lingfield, James Fashawe's colt rates the pick of those with experience. Ancient State is another interesting newcomer to consider.

ENACTING proved much sharper with his debut effort under his belt when fourth in a Lingfield novice (1m) 44 days ago and with further progress possible, he gets the nod to come out on top. Purple Rainbow and Cluster One are a couple of appealing newcomers from leading yards and may emerge as the chief threats.

Purple Rainbow and Cluster One are interesting newcomers but ENACTING is taken to continue his progress and get off the mark.

CITY OF GOD, who cost 135,000gns as a yearling, is yet another notable two-year-old form the Karl Burke yard to take seriously on his racecourse bow. A half-brother to a 7f juvenile winner, the son of Kodiac ticks the right boxes on paper and could be worth chancing in a race where those with experience don't appear to be anything out of the ordinary. Best Rate could be the pick of those, although March To The Band and Stage Winner are potential improvers to consider.

BEST RATE has been shaping up nicely and can open his account if not stymied by a wide draw. Stage Winner should have more to offer, while Rogue Dynasty can probably find a race.

The vote goes to STAGE WINNER, whose debut effort has substance. Interesting newcomer City Of God is second choice.

JOSEPH has shown promise on both previous starts and the son of Earthlight could be hard to beat in a race of this nature. Merchant hit the crossbar over a mile at Newcastle last time and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Mallorca is a son of Dar Re Mi and the well-bred newcomer should not be underestimated.

MERCHANT left his debut form well behind when finishing runner-up at Newcastle earlier this month and, with further improvement in the pipeline, William Haggas' colt gets the nod to make it third time lucky. There are a few well-bred newcomers in opposition however, with Mallorca, Pebble Island and Hachiman looking the pick of those before the benefit of market clues.

Joseph should appreciate the longer trip but MERCHANT looked a surefire future winner when second at Newcastle 24 days ago.

CURRUMBIN bolted up over 1m6f at Southwell last week and the three-year-old merits the utmost respect as a 6lb penalty may still underestimated him. Green Team was second over C&D when last seen and is likely to be in the mix once again off the same mark. Two Auld Pals edges out Percy Jones and Destinado to be best of the rest.

CURRUMBIN won with authority on stable debut eight days ago and he can follow up under a penalty. Consistent-performer Destinado should be thereabouts along with Two Auld Pals who ran well here on his last Flat outing.

The step up from 1m in a hood has been the making of CURRUMBIN. Prolific winner Destinado rates the main danger.

EXISTENT was only beaten a length when third over this trip at Chelmsford on his most recent outing and the son of Kingman tops the shortlist off the same mark here. Michaela's Boy also arrives with very strong form claims following his close second last time, while King Of Stars and Bang On The Bell appear best of the rest.

MICHAELA'S BOY is fancied to build on a promising Chelmsford City second for his current yard and end a losing sequence off a handy-looking mark. King of Stars could emerge as the main danger if, as expected, taking a step forward from his recent C&D fifth. C&D scorers Bang On The Bell and Existent can also have a say in a competitive sprint.

This should be well run and the unexposed PURE ANGEL (nap) is taken to leave her reappearance behind her. Existent is next best.

COME ON JOHN deserves to get his head in front again as he's held his form really well since scoring at Southwell in October. He boasts good form at this track too and gets the nod ahead of Starfighter, an experienced C&D winner who showed a bit more when third here last time. Throw Letmeseethecolts into the mix as well.

COME ON JOHN has held his form really well of late and can provide James Owen with yet another winner. Low-mileage 3-y-o Letmeseethecolts might step forward on her recent comeback run and is second choice ahead of Moon Over The Sea and Starfighter.

Starfighter can go well but LETMESEETHECOLTS made a solid return from a break recently and should have a bit of improvement in her.
Class & Speed Card

PALAZZO PERSICO won with a bit in hand over a similar trip at Chelmsford latest and connections have found their gelding another very winnable opening as he bids for a double. He might not need to improve much in order to land the spoils, although C&D winner Master Of Combat could go well back at this venue following his latest Southwell fourth. Keep an eye on Youarenotforgiven too.

ENGLISH SPIRIT scored in good style here in October and was undone by a wide trip last time so, following a short break, he's fancied to resume winning ways at the possible expense of Palazzo Persico, who clicked in a first-time visor recently. Master of Combat is also respected.

Plenty to consider in an open race, headed by TIMETOBENICE, who gets the nod. Finn Russell and English Spirit are feared most.
Class & Speed Card

FOREVER PROUD won at Chelmsford recently and almost followed up just two days later at this venue. Over the same C&D as that second-placed effort, when beaten less than a length, the James Owen inmate is taken to strike. Port Noir is a model of consistency and won't go down without a fight, while another to be interested in is Plumette.

RISING FORCE looked unlucky when narrowly failing to get to grips with Forever Proud at Chelmsford City recently and, granted better luck-in-running this time, Robert Eddery's charge can resume winning ways. Forever Proud lost little caste in defeat when runner-up at the same course since and should give another good account, while his lightly-raced stablemate Jaamir and Port Noir also merit respect. However, Plumette, who also encountered traffic problems on her latest start, is feared most.

No obvious pace on the cards and FOREVER PROUD is only tentatively preferred to Rising Force and Plumette.
Ths is the racecard key.
