100/1(-52%) | (10) Stone Cold 100/1, Improved on debut effort when beaten 8l in an auction bumper at Thurles last time. Returns from a short break and is effective at 2m on good ground. Needs to find more. Showed promise in two Irish bumpers but faces tough task on stable/hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 -75%)Phineas Bunce |
28/1(-75%) | (8) Phineas Bunce 28/1, Failed to build on debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Exeter last time. Had been in good form prior. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. From a top yard but may be one for handicaps over further. Placed on hurdle debut but took a backward step when well-held fifth this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (250/1 -67%)Getaway Sam |
250/1(-67%) | (6) Getaway Sam 250/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle here last time. Effective around 2m in bumpers but may need more time to develop over hurdles. Yet to show any significant promise after three hurdle runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (200/1 -33%)Stay Hopeful |
200/1(-33%) | (9) Stay Hopeful 200/1, Made no impression from off the pace when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective at 3m in points and likely to need further in time. Soundly beaten in two slow-ground hurdles this autumn and remains best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (200/1 -100%)Ahanaglogh |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Ahanaglogh 200/1, Outpaced and needed the run when finishing down the field on hurdle debut in a novice event at Exeter last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (125/1 -89%)Could Be You |
125/1(-89%) | (4) Could Be You 125/1, Showed some promise despite a notable mistake when 23l third in a novice hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective at 2m4f and acts on good to soft ground. Should improve with experience. Did not achieve a great deal when well-held third of five on rules debut at Lingfield. |

Spectacularsunrise continued his upward trajectory when completing a double on his handicap bow at Kelso. The five-year-old merits respect reverting to novice company, but he could prove vulnerable at the top of the weights. MOSSY FEN ROAD displayed a willing attitude when making a winning hurdles debut at Lingfield and any improvement could see him follow up. Smart Flat recruit Galashiels and Exeter third Tennessee Tango are others to consider.

Spectacularsunrise is respected but there is surely more to come from MOSSY FEN ROAD, who can improve past his main rival.

11/1(-120%) | (11) Ole Ole 11/1, Ran to form when second beaten a length in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft ground; ex-French recruit for a top yard with likely further improvement. In close pursuit of Manoir De Mirande when that one came down at the last at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (7/2 +59%)Munsif |
7/2(+59%) | (10) Munsif 7/2, Had too much to do and looked to need a stiffer test when beaten 6l in a handicap at Newmarket last time; off a short break; useful handicapper over middle distances on flat in UK; likely type. Went 3-6 for Roger Varian, showing smart form (1m4f); purchased for 120,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (28/1 +15%)Bartholomew |
28/1(+15%) | (1) Bartholomew 28/1, Had every chance and ran to form when beaten 6 1/4l in a maiden at The Curragh last time; consistent on flat; off a short break and market can guide on hurdle debut. Ability in three middle-distance maidens but this still looks a big ask on hurdling debut. |

14/1(+50%) | (4) Deep Water Bay 14/1, Last year's winning yard; ran to form when second beaten 5l in a handicap at Goodwood last time; hugely progressive stayer in UK; enjoys making the running and returns from a break; looks a threat on hurdle debut. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (25/1 -213%)Kizlyar |
25/1(-213%) | (8) Kizlyar 25/1, From a yard that has won two of the last ten renewals; made mistakes but showed promise on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft ground; showed useful Flat form in France and could improve for a top stable. 1m6f winner in France; let down by his jumping at Cork, though the ground was testing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (14) (50/1 +0%)Wolfpack |
50/1(+0%) | (14) Wolfpack 50/1, From last year's winning stable; disappointed when stepped up in trip and finished down the field in a handicap at Newbury last time; returning from a break and 1m flat winner needs to find plenty on hurdle debut. Won a 1m novice for James Ferguson but well beaten in two handicaps for that yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/4(+54%) | (3) Dead Cert 11/4, Yard has won two of the last five runnings; fell in a juvenile hurdle at Auteuil last time when booked for midfield and returns from a long layoff; effective at 2m on soft ground, previously showed minor promise in France and now with a top yard, more to come. Trained by Willie Mullins when falling late on at Auteuil in March; showed ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (17) (10/3 -48%)Dschingis Desire |
10/3(-48%) | (17) Dschingis Desire 10/3, Yard has won two of the last five runnings; very promising debut when a neck winner in a 3yo race at Argentan; much more to come now hurdling for top yard; strong contender. Emerged from off the pace to win a 1m4f soft-ground maiden in France. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

3/1(-71%) | (9) Manoir De Mirande 3/1, Last year's winning yard; fell in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft and heavy ground; French bumper form has been franked and could make amends for an unlucky debut fall. French winner who would probably have won at Cork had he not come down late on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (150/1 +25%)Rua Mor |
150/1(+25%) | (13) Rua Mor 150/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time; usually held up; effective at 2m on good ground and arrives in good form but probably one for handicaps. Very opposable on what he's shown in one Flat run and two over hurdles; outclassed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (15) (150/1 -275%)Concert Party |
150/1(-275%) | (15) Concert Party 150/1, Outpaced and below form off a revised mark when up in class and down the field in a handicap at Newbury last time; had been in good form previously over 10f; off a short break and more needed now tackling hurdles. Dual 1m2f winner for Richard Hannon; limited appeal in a maiden of this strength. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (18) (150/1 -200%)Kashel Spring |
150/1(-200%) | (18) Kashel Spring 150/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Naas last time; progressive on flat; off a short break and has a bit to find. Dual Flat winner but others in here had superior form in that sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (16) (200/1 -100%)Dream Angel |
200/1(-100%) | (16) Dream Angel 200/1, Poor debut when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time; better suited by 1m and a sound surface; Flat winner but has plenty to prove over hurdles. Limited on the Flat and 80-1 when tailed off on hurdling debut at Punchestown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (2) (200/1 +0%)Crest Of Light |
200/1(+0%) | (2) Crest Of Light 200/1, Never threatened after missing the break when well beaten in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; multiple flat winner in UK; returns from a short break and needs plenty more on hurdle debut. Dual winner at 1m but has regressed and recently changed hands for 2,400gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (5) (200/1 -300%)Far Eclipse |
200/1(-300%) | (5) Far Eclipse 200/1, Showed little on debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft ground but inconsistent on the Flat and needs to improve over hurdles. Limited Flat maiden who finished well held on hurdling debut at Cork when 33-1. |

MANOIR DE MIRANDE won a 1m4f French bumper in decisive fashion back in April and looked set to score on his debut for current connections when falling at the last at Cork. Ole Ole was beaten a length by Glen To Glen in that race, with Kizlyar, Far Eclipse and Ray Gun all behind, and Gordon Elliott's charge can make amends. Dschingis Desire represents the same owners and was also sourced from France after winning a 1m4f maiden back in the spring. Munsif won three times on the level this year for Roger Varian and is an interesting recruit to hurdles, while Deep Water Bay, Genealogy and Kashel Spring are others switching from the Flat to keep a close eye on.

There are definite dangers but preference is for MANOIR DE MIRANDE who looked set to win when coming down late on at Cork.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (6/4 +40%)Galileo Dame |
6/4(+40%) | (2) Galileo Dame 6/4, Again below form when down the field in the Finale Stakes (Listed) at The Curragh most recently; from a top course trainer. Effective at 2m on soft or yielding ground; classy maiden over hurdles and this longer trip may suit. Out of form on Flat but a repeat of her Grade 1 hurdle 2nd will make her difficult to beat. |

9/2(+25%) | (10) Crystal Gold 9/2, Promising rules debut when 11l third in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time; wears a hood for the first time. Effective around 2m4f and acts on soft to heavy ground; open to further progress. Third in a point and maiden hurdle; should have improved from that; hood on; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (80/1 +20%)Dixies Girl |
80/1(+20%) | (11) Dixies Girl 80/1, Made too much use of when beaten 9l in a maiden hurdle at Listowel last time. Absent for a long spell; effective at 3m and acts on good ground; should improve dropped in trip. Point winner showed some ability in bumpers and a maiden hurdle but off a long time. |

125/1(+17%) | (9) Cry Before Dawn 125/1, Showed some promise on debut in a hood but was well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel. Effective at 2m4f and acts on heavy ground; should improve but has more to find. Was never involved in a Clonmel maiden hurdle on debut and will have to improve hugely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (17) (300/1 -100%)Supreme Axel |
300/1(-100%) | (17) Supreme Axel 300/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; yet to find suitable conditions; all to prove. Not a lot of promise in two points and a Tramore maiden hurdle so is passed over today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (14) (300/1 -100%)Madam Elle |
300/1(-100%) | (14) Madam Elle 300/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Cork on her only start; major improvement needed. Tailed-off in a Cork maiden hurdle on debut so can't be fancied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (3) (66/1 -313%)Ina Mina |
66/1(-313%) | (3) Ina Mina 66/1, Best run since summer when 4 1/4l third in a handicap at Gowran Park most recent run; off a short-break; effective up to 13f; type to make a fair hurdler. Third on the Flat last time in testing ground; considered on hurdling debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (18) (125/1 -25%)Toor Idaho |
125/1(-25%) | (18) Toor Idaho 125/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time. Effective at 2m6f and acts on yielding or good ground; difficult to make a case for her here. Some decent runs in defeat but questions after pulled-up in a Navan handicap last time. |

Point-to-point winner Forceonmyown struck in a bumper at Punchestown in January and is respected for the in-form Gordon Elliott team, but NOT NEGOTIABLE gets the vote. The six-year-old mare justified cramped odds at Tipperary in April last year and looks to have found a good opportunity on her first appearance over timber. Galileo Dame placed in a Grade 1 juvenile at Leopardstown in February and has to be of interest back over timber.

A chance is taken that CRYSTAL GOLD can improve enough from her smart debut third against geldings in a Punchestown maiden hurdle

13th (9) (50/1 +24%)Perfect Poli |
50/1(+24%) | (9) Perfect Poli 50/1, Still green and stopped quickly after a series of errors when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Cartmel latest; cheekpieces first time; effective over 2 1/2m; yet to build on debut promise. Lightly raced 7yo; improvement needed in first-time cheekpieces on third handicap start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (4) (66/1 -65%)Little Soiree |
66/1(-65%) | (4) Little Soiree 66/1, Made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster last time; effective at 2m and acts on good; won a weak race and inconsistent. Won off 4lb higher at Huntingdon (2m) in May but has struggled since; stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (16) (50/1 +24%)You Say Its Over |
50/1(+24%) | (16) You Say Its Over 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Catterick latest when tried in cheekpieces; form has steadily tailed off along with enthusiasm and needs a big turnaround to figure. Longstanding maiden who has been well beaten over fences on her last two starts. |

CASTANEA BREEZE bounced back to form when scoring over 2m7f at Market Rasen earlier in the month and the five-year-old could be hard to beat once again, despite a 5lb rise. Shoeshine Boy hit the crossbar at Ayr last time and may prove to be the main threat, although Getaway Master and Moveonbuy are others who arrive with solid form claims.

The 5yo CASTANEA BREEZE won when upped in trip in first-time cheekpieces at Market Rasen this month and can make it 2-2 in handicaps.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/2 +59%)Knight Templar |
9/2(+59%) | (5) Knight Templar 9/2, Keen and travelled well but found little up the hill when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to soft ground. Inconsistent. Won juvenile event at Kempton on this day last year; today may be the time to catch him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (9/2 +10%)Kamaxos |
9/2(+10%) | (1) Kamaxos 9/2, Showed a good attitude to end a losing run when landing a handicap by a head off a 4lb lower mark at Leicester last time. Trainer in form. Effective from 2m to 2m5f and acts on soft and good ground. Has a chance off the new mark. Prevailed narrowly at Leicester last time; still nicely treated on historical data. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (25/1 -39%)Close Combat |
25/1(-39%) | (4) Close Combat 25/1, Made no impact on handicap debut when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Leicester last time. Had been in good form prior. Effective at about 2m1f and handles heavy ground. May have more to offer. Low-mileage 4yo who may resume progress with Leicester reappearance under his belt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (33/1 +34%)Gower Spirit |
33/1(+34%) | (10) Gower Spirit 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 2m4f and acts on heavy ground. The form of her maiden win looks modest and a bounce back is needed. Has failed to back up the form of her Uttoxeter win; headgear is now applied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (18/1 -29%)Gavin |
18/1(-29%) | (11) Gavin 18/1, Taken on up front and unable to lead when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time. Best at 2m or less and needs a sound surface. Likes to dominate. Long way behind Oakley at Hereford; 0-11 since his May success. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (7/1 -100%)Oakley |
7/1(-100%) | (6) Oakley 7/1, Well on top late for first hurdles success landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 8lb lower mark at Hereford last time; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; new mark asks more but he could be progressive. Opened his hurdles account in Hereford contest last month; may build on that ready win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -100%)Estate Planning |
50/1(-100%) | (12) Estate Planning 50/1, Outpaced, never threatened and poorly placed at a sharp track when fourth, beaten 9l, in a claiming hurdle at Ludlow last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. Out of form this term. Still a maiden and has weak claims on his form this term; headgear fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (80/1 -344%)Cogital |
80/1(-344%) | (13) Cogital 80/1, Outpaced and never threatened when fourth, beaten 21l, in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2m on good ground. Needs more. Defied a stone higher mark in 2022 but doesn't seem the same horse now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (11/1 +0%)Zambezi Fix |
11/1(+0%) | (3) Zambezi Fix 11/1, Again below form when fourth, beaten 19l, in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective around 2m and handles cut in the ground. This veteran looks vulnerable once again. Veteran who has plenty of Chepstow form; could go well off a handy mark back here. |

Kamaxos is only 4lb higher than for his Leicester triumph and he must enter the reckoning on just his third outing for the Charlie Longsdon stable. Oakley came good under a patient ride at Hereford, but the pair may be worth taking on with ANOTHER FINE MESS. Jeremy Scott's string have largely been improving for their seasonal reappearances and the six-year-old may leave his moderate Lingfield return behind him, with the cut back to 2m in his favour.

This may be the time to catch KNIGHT TEMPLAR, who is first choice ahead of Oakley.

1st (5) (10/11 -14%)Kargese |
10/11(-14%) | (5) Kargese 10/11, Winner of three Grade 1 races over hurdles; stable has won two of the last five runnings of this contest. Finished second, beaten 16l, in the Order Of St George Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2) at Cork last time. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground; a classy hurdler likely to improve for the reappearance. Dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles; beaten by a smart mare on her recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/4 +36%)Lovely Hurling |
7/4(+36%) | (4) Lovely Hurling 7/4, Outpaced but very promising on chase debut when second, beaten 13l, in a beginners' chase at Navan on return. Progressive hurdler last term; effective at around 2½m and should improve for that initial experience when stepped up in trip but threat if getting stiff test. Lightly-raced hurdler but smart; no match for Kopek Des Bordes on his chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (25/1 -25%)Kings Hill |
25/1(-25%) | (3) Kings Hill 25/1, Below form after being made too much use of when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time. Returns from a long layoff and wears a tongue-tie for the first time; faces a tough task in hot race on chase debut. Useful hurdler but struggled in some strong handicaps last season; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (50/1 -213%)Bottler'secret |
50/1(-213%) | (1) Bottler'secret 50/1, Made mistakes and produced a poor chase debut when down the field in a beginners' chase at Naas last time. Effective at around 2m but currently out of form over jumps. Smart novice hurdler but has become disappointing; offered little on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (3/1 +40%)James's Gate |
3/1(+40%) | (2) James's Gate 3/1, Showed a good attitude and improvement on recent form when winning a novice hurdle at Navan by 3/4l last time. Returns from a long layoff with promise of more to come over fences; danger if fit. Dual hurdle winner with a mark of 135; could easily run well despite his absence. |

KARGESE was a dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles as a juvenile and landed the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March. The Willie Mullins-trained mare was set a stiff task on her chasing debut when runner-up to Kala Conti in a Grade 2 at Cork earlier this month and should benefit from the experience. Lovely Hurling filled the runner-up spot behind the impressive Final Demand in a 2m4f Grade 1 novice hurdle at the Punchestown Festival and was unlucky to come up against Kopek Des Bordes on his chasing debut at Navan last month. James's Gate has obviously not been the easiest to train but retains plenty of ability.

Kargese will take some beating with a trouble-free round but the progressive LOVELY HURLING can give her a race.

Easy winner of sole race in France in September; has joined top yard; big chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (28/1 -12%)Brave Guest |
28/1(-12%) | (2) Brave Guest 28/1, Hampered late but shaped well on debut when second, beaten 5l in a juvenile hurdle at Fontwell; effective over 2m and handles heavy ground; can improve with a clear passage. 0-6 on Flat but some aptitude for hurdling when second at Fontwell; may improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (7/2 -17%)Zarakerjack |
7/2(-17%) | (8) Zarakerjack 7/2, Green and made mistakes but showed minor promise on debut when second, beaten 14l in a juvenile hurdle here; effective over 2m on good ground; yard does well with similar types and improvement expected. Fair 1m2f Flat winner; jumped left on C&D hurdling debut but still finished second; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (25/1 -108%)Tetsworth |
25/1(-108%) | (6) Tetsworth 25/1, Ran to form when a 1l third in a handicap at Redcar on latest outing; returning from a short break; looks stable second string and has a bit to find. Best Flat effort when third in October; one of two runners for the Moore stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (40/1 +39%)Provision |
40/1(+39%) | (4) Provision 40/1, Ran to form when 5 1/4l third in a novice at Newcastle on latest start; progressive at lowly level on flat; returns from a short break and needs to find more on hurdle debut. 0-3 on Flat; new yard has modest strike-rate; Isabelle Ryder cannot claim usual allowance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (50/1 -127%)Chartwell Jock |
50/1(-127%) | (3) Chartwell Jock 50/1, Raced too freely when back from a break and needed the run, finishing down the field in a handicap here last time; 10f flat winner; market can guide on hurdle debut. Tailed off on stable debut but best Flat form suggests he could make an impact here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (28/1 +15%)Tenadaay |
28/1(+15%) | (5) Tenadaay 28/1, Raced far too freely when 11l third in a juvenile hurdle at Fontwell last time; effective at 2m on soft ground but plenty to find. No great shakes on Flat and finished last of three finishers on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (7/2 +36%)Whatsgoingonmarvin |
7/2(+36%) | (7) Whatsgoingonmarvin 7/2, Stopped quickly when down the field in a handicap at Pontefract last time but was in good form prior; returns from a short break and multiple flat winner could offer value on hurdle debut. Useful Flat winner at up to 1m6f for Sir Mark Prescott; a likely type for juvenile hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (250/1 -100%)Miss Raffles |
250/1(-100%) | (9) Miss Raffles 250/1, Yet to display any notable ability or beat a rival home and returns from a break; has it all to do on hurdle debut. Beaten out of sight at triple-figure odds in two Flat races; difficult to fancy. |

Zarakerjack was put in his place by a potentially useful sort over C&D last month and remains of considerable interest today, whilst both Brave Guest (second) and Tenadaay (third) could figure having squared off at Fontwell. Chartwell Jock was no slouch on the level and is worth a market check ahead of his hurdling bow, but the vote goes to MAESTRO CONTI. Picked up by the Skeltons having won impressively in France on his racecourse debut, the Prince Gibraltar gelding might be one to follow over the course of the season.

Whatsgoingonmarvin is a fascinating recruit to hurdling but the vote goes to MAESTRO CONTI who bolted up on his only run in France.

6/1(-80%) | (2) Krabat 6/1, Outpaced, needed the run and was unsuited by the drop in trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Effective around 2m4f and suited by cut, though his strike-rate remains a concern. Hit and miss in both codes this year but would have a chance if repeating his best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (10/3 -67%)Decimation |
10/3(-67%) | (9) Decimation 10/3, Returned to form when beaten 4l off a 1lb lower mark at Fairyhouse last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m and best with cut; inconsistent but has a chance if building on that latest effort now tried in blinkers. Maiden over fences but third at Fairyhouse last time; should go well with blinkers added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/1 -33%)West Cork Wildway |
8/1(-33%) | (1) West Cork Wildway 8/1, Cashed in on a falling mark when landing a handicap by 4 1/2l off an 11lb lower mark at Cork last time. Effective from 2m2f to 3m and acts on soft and good ground, though others may be better back chasing. Hurdle winner last time; ran well enough in a Cork hunter chase in April; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (12/1 -140%)Dundaniel |
12/1(-140%) | (3) Dundaniel 12/1, Ran a bit below form back in a handicap when 10l third in a handicap chase at Tipperary on his most recent run. Effective from 2m6f to 3m and acts on soft and yielding ground; could need this first run since the summer. Not a bad Tipperary handicap run in July; a shout if at his best; can go well fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (6/1 +45%)Smackwater Jack |
6/1(+45%) | (10) Smackwater Jack 6/1, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective up to 3m and acts on heavy and good ground; this will be his first chase run in almost two years. Poor when last seen over fences in UK nearly three years ago; others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (9/2 +68%)Difficult Decision |
9/2(+68%) | (7) Difficult Decision 9/2, Had too much to do and needed the run when fourth, beaten 7l, in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Trainer in form; effective from 2m2f to 2m7f and acts with cut, though must prove how much ability remains after a long layoff. Fourth over hurdles at Punchestown after an absence; a big player if building on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (14/1 -17%)Baldur's Gate |
14/1(-17%) | (5) Baldur's Gate 14/1, Outpaced and needed the run when down the field in a handicap chase at Galway most recently. Off a short break; effective from 2m4f to 3m2f and suited by plenty of cut; could build on his reappearance up in trip. Beaten a long way on return at Galway; has a squeak if back to his form early this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (9/1 +68%)The Little Yank |
9/1(+68%) | (11) The Little Yank 9/1, Below form back chasing when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Thurles last time. Usually held up; effective from 2m4f to 3m and acts on any ground; mark easing but needs more. Only one win over fences; best recent runs have been over hurdles; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (20/1 +0%)Clonmeen |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Clonmeen 20/1, Never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Navan last time. Effective up to 3m and acts on heavy and yielding ground; down in the weights but form has been in and out of late. Has been regressive in the last year and has to do much better than recent offerings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (12/1 +0%)Halsafari |
12/1(+0%) | (8) Halsafari 12/1, Scored by 5 1/2l off a 17lb lower mark at Cork on his penultimate start but was disappointing back up in trip last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and yielding ground; first chase run since spring 2023. Hurdle winner two starts back; hasn't run over fences since 2023 but a chance on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (20/1 -150%)Rochestown |
20/1(-150%) | (4) Rochestown 20/1, Needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cork last time. Effective from 2m2f to 3m and acts on any ground; could come on for that latest effort. Three chase wins at Tramore; well beaten over hurdles on return; others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (100/1 -100%)Eddies Pride |
100/1(-100%) | (12) Eddies Pride 100/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Punchestown last time. Effective around 3m and acts with cut, but out of form and hard to fancy. Dual chase winner but regressive this year; can't be fancied from 19lb out of the handicap. |

West Cork Wildway capitalised on a career-low mark to score over the smaller obstacles at Cork last time and is respected back over fences. However, DECIMATION produced a better performance to make the frame at Fairyhouse on his latest outing and is just 1lb higher. If reproducing that level of form, the 10-year-old could be the one to beat. Of the remainder, Dundaniel makes the most appeal.

A winner at this track over hurdles and fences before going missing, DIFFICULT DECISION ran well over hurdles on return and can score.

15/2(+17%) | (7) Minstrel Knight 15/2, Disappointing, possibly made too much use of, when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Southwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground. A useful Flat stayer with more to come over hurdles; return to slower ground is a positive. Promising performance over C&D on hurdle debut; lesser effort since but could bounce back. |

2nd (1) (2/1 -33%)Alsakib |
2/1(-33%) | (1) Alsakib 2/1, A little out of depth and up in trip when comfortably held in the Prix du Cadran (Group 1) at Longchamp last time. Off a short break and holds an obvious chance on hurdle debut. Classy Flat performer; major player if taking to hurdling at the first attempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (22/1 +67%)Liberty Coach |
22/1(+67%) | (5) Liberty Coach 22/1, Poor hurdle debut after a break when down the field in a novice hurdle here last time. Suited by 10f and acted on any going on the Flat. Has something to prove after a disappointing start over hurdles. Useful, four-time 1m2f winner on the Flat; tailed off on hurdle debut over C&D 3 weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (2/1 +27%)Two Brothers |
2/1(+27%) | (12) Two Brothers 2/1, Given a quiet ride and made promising late headway from well back when 6l third in a novice hurdle here last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Stays 2m, acts on good to soft, and looks to have plenty to come over hurdles. Useful on the Flat and third over C&D on this month's hurdle debut; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 +8%)Dartmouth Castle |
11/1(+8%) | (3) Dartmouth Castle 11/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 6l, in a bumper at Sedgefield latest. Suited by 2m and acts on a sound surface. Off a short break and looks the yard's second string. Sedgefield bumper winner who brings potential to this first hurdle start; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (17/2 -31%)Chillingham |
17/2(-31%) | (2) Chillingham 17/2, Bit below form when beaten 10l in a Flat handicap at Leicester last time. Off a short break, rated in the nineties on the level and deserves respect on hurdling debut. Very useful on the Flat and he could have a bright future in this code. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (14/1 +44%)Greedy Smith |
14/1(+44%) | (4) Greedy Smith 14/1, Similar poor form to his hurdle debut when well beaten in a maiden at Sandown latest. Should be effective at 2m and acts on good ground. Showed promise in bumpers but yet to produce worthwhile hurdles form. In good hands but may be of greater interest when able to tackle handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/1 +60%)Sovereignlightcafe |
10/1(+60%) | (9) Sovereignlightcafe 10/1, Made minor late headway past tiring rivals when 14l third in a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield most recent run. Stays 2m and acts on soft ground. A strong stayer on the Flat with more to come. Ran okay when 14l third on hurdle debut but others have more substance to their form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (250/1 -279%)Steel Soldier |
250/1(-279%) | (10) Steel Soldier 250/1, Similar poor form to debut over hurdles when down the field in a maiden at Sedgefield last time. Yet to show any sign of ability in points or over hurdles. He's shown very little and is hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (125/1 -89%)Littletown Lad |
125/1(-89%) | (6) Littletown Lad 125/1, Similar poor form to hurdling debut when down the field in a maiden at Southwell most recently. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground. Showed promise in bumpers and a point but yet to show ability over hurdles. Tailed off at big odds at Southwell (2m, soft/good to soft) on his two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (28/1 -100%)Tea Boy |
28/1(-100%) | (11) Tea Boy 28/1, Similar modest level to second bumper start when comfortably held at Newcastle last time. Faces a stiff task here. Runner-up on debut in a bumper but soundly beaten in fifth on next two starts. |

Two Brothers sets the standard following his third on his hurdling bow over C&D earlier in the month. That said, a chance can be taken on ALSAKIB, who lacks experience over timber but he was a high-class performer on the Flat. A Group 3 winner in 2024, the five-year-old was not beaten far in the Yorkshire Cup in May and he could prove to be a class above if taking to jumping. Chillingham was also useful on the level and is another to consider.

C&D third Two Brothers is a strong candidate but preference is for jumping newcomer ALSAKIB, who was a class act on the Flat.

10/3(-11%) | (1) Jour D'evasion 10/3, Improved, strong from last when landing a handicap by 4 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on Hy, GS; capable of better still off new mark. Beat Passing Kate by just over 4l at Bangor last month; still unexposed over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/4 +63%)Passing Kate |
11/4(+63%) | (6) Passing Kate 11/4, Ran to form when second, beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and goes well with cut in the ground; steadily progressing over fences. Ended last season with a course win and ran well in defeat on both outings this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 +42%)Heads Or Harps |
7/1(+42%) | (5) Heads Or Harps 7/1, Returned to form after a reappearance when just beaten by an unexposed rival, finishing second and beaten 6l in a handicap chase at Ayr last time; effective at 2m and handles soft ground; looks a progressive type. Second to a big improver at Ayr this month; has travelled from Scotland for this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/1 +36%)Ideallko |
9/1(+36%) | (7) Ideallko 9/1, Needed the run and may have found the ground a bit quick when fourth, beaten 33l in a handicap chase here last time; returns after a short break; effective from 2m to 2m4f on soft and good ground and should come on for that outing. Did well last season but made low-key return in October and off for another 11 weeks since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (6/1 +8%)Storminhome |
6/1(+8%) | (2) Storminhome 6/1, Had too much to do and possibly needed the run when beaten 1/2l off a 3lb higher mark at Wetherby last time; returns from a long absence; effective from 2m3f to 3m on soft and good ground but has fitness to prove. Ran well over 2m5f on stable debut in October 2024; absent since; 2m not sure to suit. |

Having finished a close-up third on his debut for Dan Skelton at Wetherby in October last year, market support for Storminhome would have to be respected. However, this distance looks on the sharp side and JOUR D'EVASION has more pressing claims. The six-year-old justified favouritism at Bangor - just his second outing over fences - and a 5lb rise could prove generous. Fellow last-time-out winner Siam Park may give the selection plenty to think about.

Sean Bowen's mount BALLYBREEZE drops in grade and is selected to record his third C&D win. Heads Or Harps is feared most.

1st (6) (8/1 +20%)Solness |
8/1(+20%) | (6) Solness 8/1, A dual Grade 1 winner and last year's victor of this race. Finished 11l third in the Champion Chase (Grade 1) at Punchestown last time. Effective at 2m and prefers decent ground. Progressive last term with strong course form; dangerous if allowed to dictate. Won two G1s over C&D last season, including this race; goes well fresh; leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (2/1 -14%)Marine Nationale |
2/1(-14%) | (5) Marine Nationale 2/1, A four-time Grade 1 winner who took the Champion Chase (Grade 1) at Punchestown by 7l last time. Effective at 2m and suited by decent ground. The Champion Chase winner sets the standard here, a big player if fit on favourable drying ground but may just need this run. Reigning champion 2m chaser is the one to beat but started last season very slowly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 +25%)Majborough |
6/4(+25%) | (4) Majborough 6/4, A triple Grade 1 winner who finished second, beaten 1 1/2l, in the Hilly Way Chase (Grade 2) at Cork last time where let down by jumping. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground. Would be unbeaten over fences but for jumping errors; high-class performer who must jump cleanly. Top-class 2m novice chaser last season but he is prone to errors in jumping department. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/2 +31%)Found A Fifty |
9/2(+31%) | (2) Found A Fifty 9/2, A dual Grade 1 winner who ran to form when winning the Hilly Way Chase (Grade 2) at Cork by 1 1/2l last time, his fitness and better jumping proving decisive. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, consistent, though possibly vulnerable at the very top level. Pulled up in this race last year but beat Majborough last time so has to be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -71%)Only By Night |
12/1(-71%) | (7) Only By Night 12/1, Travelled well and ran to her best when benefitting from a drop in grade, showing strong form for the level when winning the Barberstown Castle Chase (Grade 3) at Naas by a short-head last time following big Arkle run. Cheekpieces first time; effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground. Progressive mare last season; 4-6 over fences; 2nd in last season's Arkle; bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (40/1 -21%)Captain Guinness |
40/1(-21%) | (1) Captain Guinness 40/1, The yard has won two of the last ten runnings of this race. Pulled up in the Fortria Chase (Grade 2) at Navan last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut, but though a former Grade 1 winner, he is not the force of old and can be erratic. Queen Mother Champion Chase winner in 2024 but regressive since; set to struggle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 +34%)Hercule Du Seuil |
33/1(+34%) | (3) Hercule Du Seuil 33/1, The yard has won three of the last five editions of this race. Finished 8l third in the Fortria Chase (Grade 2) at Navan last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, best on decent ground; competitive at Grade 2/3 level. Probably not up to this level; uphill task over this trip against specialist two-milers. |

MAJBOROUGH is certainly not the finished article over fences, but hopefully he can put in an improved round of jumping and take advantage of a fitness edge over Marine Nationale. The five-year-old blundered away a winning opportunity when a close third behind Jango Baie and Only By Night in the Arkle at Cheltenham and after easily beating Only By Night at the Punchestown Festival, again showed jumping frailties when runner-up to Found A Fifty on his reappearance in the Hilly Way at Cork. Marine Nationale, third behind Solness in this race last year, steadily improved last season before landing the Champion Chase at both Cheltenham and Punchestown. It will be interesting to see how strong Solness is in the market on his seasonal debut.

SOLNESS is worth backing to follow up his win in this race 12 months ago. He goes well fresh and should ensure this is a proper test

Second run since surgery; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, acts on soft and good; well treated on Listed form but inconsistent. Mixed results since novice win last December; had wind op and good 2nd over 2m7f latest. |

14/1(-100%) | (5) Holly Hartingo 14/1, Ran to form when just beaten by a race-fit rival after a positive ride, finishing a length second off a 3lb lower mark here last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and well treated on older form. Close 5th in the 2023 running, then good 2nd last year; shouldn't be far away. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 +10%)Della Casa Lunga |
9/2(+10%) | (1) Della Casa Lunga 9/2, Won this race last year; outpaced and unsuited by how it developed when 4 1/2l third in a Listed Mares' Hurdle here last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, acts on soft and good to soft, and goes particularly well at Kempton; needs step back up to 3m. Had a slow 2025 but better latest and on the same mark as when winning this last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (6/1 +20%)Audacious Annie |
6/1(+20%) | (9) Audacious Annie 6/1, Ran to form when suited by a positive ride at a sharp track, beaten a length off a 3lb lower mark at Warwick last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on good ground; back in form and fairly treated on novice form. Back to best when 2nd over 2m5f latest; up 3lb; needs more for new trip in a better race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (20/1 -82%)Greyval |
20/1(-82%) | (2) Greyval 20/1, Finished down the field in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time when below form. Didn't take to chasing but generally consistent in this sphere. Better suited by 2m4f over hurdles and handles both soft and good ground. Two 2m4f hurdle wins in the spring; well held over fences latest; first run over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (5/1 -50%)Miss Cynthia |
5/1(-50%) | (7) Miss Cynthia 5/1, Stable has won two of the last five renewals of this race. Won a handicap by 3/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Market Rasen three starts ago. Returning from a long layoff; effective over 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft; useful dual-purpose performer, well treated on Listed and Flat form. Smart Listed Flat form in 2024; took well to hurdles; potential for better for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (7/1 +18%)I've Madeupmymind |
7/1(+18%) | (10) I've Madeupmymind 7/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle here last time when running on and may have been placed. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, handles any ground, and consistent in a short career; unexposed over staying trips. Won 2m hurdle in February; still going well when fell 2 out over C&D latest; of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (20/1 -43%)Gaye Legacy |
20/1(-43%) | (8) Gaye Legacy 20/1, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective over 3m, acts on good to soft and heavy ground, and generally consistent; stays well. Runner-up in the 2023 running; well beaten on reappearance and now goes in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (28/1 -12%)Musique De Fee |
28/1(-12%) | (3) Musique De Fee 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Hereford last time. Wears a visor for the first time. Enjoys racing prominently and is a consistent, thorough stayer. Won two 3m1f hurdles in May; good ground suits but had a poor chase experience last week. |

DELLA CASA LUNGA struggled on her return last month but ran a far more encouraging race over 2m5f here next time. The seven-year-old defeated Holly Hartingo (second) from an identical mark in the corresponding race 12 months ago and would have appeared to target this contest yet again. Star Walking made a pleasing return at Ascot and must enter calculations, along with I've Madeupmymind, who fell when in contention over C&D. Miss Cynthia hasn't been seen since April, but this represents an ease in class.

Several can do better yet, with preference for talented Flat performer MISS CYNTHIA who made a good start over hurdles last winter.

11/8(-51%) | (5) The Big Westerner 11/8, Ran to form on debut over fences, just flattening out late back from break when second beaten 4l in a beginners chase' at Fairyhouse latest; effective 2m4f-3m; surely has much more to come over fences. Grade 2 h'dle winner on this card last year; Grade 1 placed since; solid chase bow; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (1/1 +43%)Jade De Grugy |
1/1(+43%) | (3) Jade De Grugy 1/1, Winner of two Grade 1s; well below form on debut over fences when 16l third in a beginners chase' at Cork most recent run; effective 2m2f-2m5f, acts on Hy, GS; high-class hurdler surely capable of better and yard has won 3 of last 4 runnings of this race. Grade 1-winning hurdler was soundly beaten on chase bow but can improve plenty from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (12/1 +0%)Uhavemeinstitches |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Uhavemeinstitches 12/1, Travelled well and improved from her debut when second, beaten 1 1/4l in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time; effective at 2m4f, acts on soft and good ground, and looks progressive over fences. Won a Wexford beginners' and second in a Fairyhouse h'cap; plenty to find today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 +25%)Farfromnowhere |
6/1(+25%) | (1) Farfromnowhere 6/1, Ran to form on chase debut when second beaten 9 1/2l in a beginners' chase at Cork latest; effective 2m1f-2m5f, acts on yielding to soft, good; likely has more to offer. Dual hurdle winner including here; solid 2nd to a subsequent Grade 2 winner on chase bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (100/1 -52%)Honey Come Quick |
100/1(-52%) | (2) Honey Come Quick 100/1, Improved when winning a Mares' point at Ballindenisk by 24l last time; stays 3m in points and acts on soft and yielding ground; has potential but faces a tough starting point under rules. Won two points this term but this is an ambitious tilt on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (250/1 -150%)Whatcouldhavebeen |
250/1(-150%) | (7) Whatcouldhavebeen 250/1, Below form when comfortably held in a beginners' chase at Cork last time; effective from 2m4f to 3m, handles ground with cut, but faces a stiff task at this level. Dual hurdle winner has been nowhere near her best over fences and passed over today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (100/1 -150%)Littlebiggie |
100/1(-150%) | (4) Littlebiggie 100/1, Too keen and not knocked about over an inadequate trip when 12l third in a Mares' chase at Clonmel last time; returns from a short break, effective between 2m and 2m7f, handles soft and good ground; return to further helps but this looks a tough task. Beginners' chase winner ran well at Clonmel last time but has a lot to find in this grade. |

Last season's Albert Bartlett runner-up THE BIG WESTERNER shaped with encouragement on her second-placed chase bow behind Coral Cup hero Jimmy Du Seuil at Fairyhouse last month. The six-year-old should appreciate this step up in distance and she holds obvious claims. Farfromnowhere wasn't disgraced on her first attempt over fences when filling the runner-up spot at Cork, but it is too soon to be writing off reopposing third Jade De Grugy, a dual Grade 1 winner over timber, and she's feared most.

A Grade 2 hurdle winner on this card last year, THE BIG WESTERNER(nap) made a solid start to fences and can take this.

1st (4) (4/1 +56%)Chasingouttheblues |
4/1(+56%) | (4) Chasingouttheblues 4/1, Ran slightly below form on more testing ground when beaten 9 1/4l in a Kelso handicap chase last time, but had been in good form previously. Effective from 2m4f to 3m, acts on any ground, and looks on a competitive mark. Respectable so far over fences but needs something extra if he's to come out on top. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/2 -13%)Frisby |
9/2(-13%) | (8) Frisby 9/2, Ran to form when beaten 2l off this mark at Kelso last time, having been made plenty of use of. Wears cheekpieces for the first time; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m on soft and good ground; likely to be in the mix again. 0-8 under rules (0-3 over fences) but close third at Kelso latest and could be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (8/1 -191%)Aboutdamntime |
8/1(-191%) | (6) Aboutdamntime 8/1, Not the most convincing in a small field but improved on hurdles form when landing a Catterick handicap by 3/4l off a 1lb lower mark last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m on soft and good ground; fairly treated and should be competitive. Beat in-form opponent to win at Catterick on second chase start and he's one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (13/2 -95%)Pierrot Jaguen |
13/2(-95%) | (1) Pierrot Jaguen 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Carlisle on debut; lightly raced and showed good hurdles form last winter. Wears cheekpieces for the first time, effective over 2 1/2–3m, and could have more to offer over fences, though the mark demands it. Pulled up on chase debut but very lightly raced and retains potential for good yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (6/1 +50%)I Am Max |
6/1(+50%) | (2) I Am Max 6/1, Scored by a head off a 1lb lower mark at Hexham three starts back but was let down by his jumping last time. Trainer in form; effective up to 3m on soft and good ground; needs a clear round to recapture best form. Won at Hexham in October but mistakes have proved costly on next two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (10/3 +39%)As Legends Have It |
10/3(+39%) | (5) As Legends Have It 10/3, Produced a solid effort when third, beaten 9 1/2l, in a Southwell handicap chase on debut, having been made plenty of use of. Suited by 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground; promising chase debut and open to improvement. Lightly raced 6yo; could take step forward with cheekpieces back on for second chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (10/1 +0%)Tommys Charm |
10/1(+0%) | (3) Tommys Charm 10/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time and returns from a short break. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, the longer trip may suit better; prefers plenty of cut in the ground and could rebound over this distance. Very much of interest on his close 2nd at Wincanton in January; may have needed last run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (12/1 +14%)Grangeclare Diego |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Grangeclare Diego 12/1, Improved for the step up in trip under a positive ride on handicap debut, scoring by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Market Rasen in March. Returning from a long layoff; soft ground could be a concern. Won over hurdles when last seen and the switch to fences could be a positive move. |

FRISBY was not beaten far at all when filling third place over 2m7f at Kelso when last seen in November and the first-time application of cheekpieces could help him to get off the mark under Rules here. That said, As Legends Have It is another consistent performer who is an obvious threat, while it is far too soon to be writing off the unexposed Pierrot Jaguen.

With his close third at Wincanton in January reading well, TOMMYS CHARM is the selection ahead of As Legends Have It.

15/2(+46%) | (6) Tenter Le Tout 15/2, Travelled well and made a promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Exeter by 2 1/2l last time; effective over 2m1f, acts on good to soft; progressive type but needs to step up at this level. Gained her Exeter win in a race that threw up the winner of this contest in 2023. |

2nd (3) (16/1 +36%)Klycot |
16/1(+36%) | (3) Klycot 16/1, Had the run of the race and ran to form when winning a maiden hurdle at Exeter by 1l last time; effective around 2m, acts on heavy and soft; more required at this level. Game winner last week but seems held by two of these rivals on earlier Sandown form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/1 +36%)Kaldoun Des Rocs |
9/1(+36%) | (2) Kaldoun Des Rocs 9/1, Too keen and a bit green under pressure but ran to form when 4 1/4l third in a juvenile hurdle at Sandown last time; effective over 2m, acts with cut; showed useful form in France and likely to progress for top yard. Unable to lay a glove on Macktoad at Sandown but remains open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/11 +17%)Macktoad |
10/11(+17%) | (1) Macktoad 10/11, Went clear for a very promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Sandown by 3 1/4l last time; effective 2m, acts on S; looks smart and surely has more to offer. Manner of Sandown win suggests he's a smart prospect; yard won this race in 2021 and 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/2 +58%)Sonic Pioneer |
5/2(+58%) | (4) Sonic Pioneer 5/2, Very promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Kempton by 14l last time; trainer in form; effective 2m, acts on G; more to come but it is needed at this level. Powered clear for 14l win at Kempton on the switch to this code; interesting prospect. |

Successful in France before impressing on debut for Gary & Josh Moore at Sandown earlier this month, MACKTOAD looks an exciting prospect and is hard to ignore in his hat-trick bid. Manlaga, a half-sister to the smart Martator, was a similarly ready winner on her only start in France before joining Nicky Henderson. There is plenty to like about her profile and support in the betting would be dangerous to ignore. Sonic Pioneer and Klycot are other winning hurdlers to bear in mind.

In a Finale that includes several promising juvenile hurdlers, the percentage call goes to MANLAGA ahead of Maktoad.

Effective over 2m and acts on any ground; debut form strong and progressing well for a top stable. Perfect 2-2 over hurdles, but had to work hard in the Royal Bond; player nonetheless. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (9/2 +55%)Talk The Talk |
9/2(+55%) | (6) Talk The Talk 9/2, Quickened clear cosily and showed improvement from debut when winning the Jack McInerney Memorial Hurdle (Grade 3) at Fairyhouse by 7½l last time. Effective at 2m and handles yielding or good ground; bumper form looks solid and he's progressing well over hurdles, likely to stay further in time. Perfect 2-2 for Joseph O'Brien, including easy Grade 3 win on latest; in the mix. |

The bare form of the Thurles maiden hurdle won by LE DIVIN ENFANT last month is nothing to get excited about, but he oozed class in recording a facile victory and gets the vote to show he's up to competing at the highest level in novice hurdle company this season. Willie Mullins holds a strong hand as he's also represented by Love Me Tender, who easily made all on both hurdle starts, including in a Grade 3 at Tipperary, while Skylight Hustle took a big leap forward from his hurdling debut when a wide-margin winner of a Fairyhouse maiden. Riding arrangements suggest he's preferred to Royal Bond victor Koktail Brut.

Gordon Elliott has won this race three times since 2021 and SKYLIGHT HUSTLE (nap) looks another exciting prospect in his ranks

1st (5) (85/40 +15%)Mambonumberfive |
85/40(+15%) | (5) Mambonumberfive 85/40, Travelled strongly and won comfortably when taking a handicap chase at Newbury by 2l last time; effective over 2m and acts with cut. Progressive and worth this step up in grade. Handicap wins over fences have both been franked; should be competitive in graded races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (14/1 -27%)Hansard |
14/1(-27%) | (2) Hansard 14/1, Easily beat rivals when dropping in grade to win a beginners' chase at Lingfield by 8l last time; effective over 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. A useful handicap hurdler with more to come over fences. Yet to match smart hurdles form over fences, but was at least more convincing last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 -67%)Mirabad |
15/2(-67%) | (4) Mirabad 15/2, Improved on hurdle form when allowed an easy lead to win a beginners' chase at Exeter by 2 1/4l last time; effective over 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. May have a bit more to offer for his new yard over fences. Comfortable winner on chase debut last time, which was just his second run for Dan Skelton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 -20%)Alnilam |
6/1(-20%) | (1) Alnilam 6/1, Pulled up in the Henry VIII Novices' Chase (Grade 1) at Sandown last time where lost place after bad error; effective over 2m and best on a sound surface. A generally bold jumper who has progressed over fences until latest. Won first 2 chase starts; blip in a G1 last time was forgivable; this C&D promises to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6/5 +20%)Lump Sum |
6/5(+20%) | (3) Lump Sum 6/5, Ran to form when 10l third behind a top-class winner in the Henry VIII Novices' Chase (Grade 1) at Sandown last time; effective over 2m and acts on good to soft ground. A useful chaser not up to top level but this looks suitable. Impressive winner of chase debut and ran into Lulamba in Grade 1 last time; big player. |

It was certainly no disgrace finishing third in behind Lulamba in the Henry VIII, and Lump Sum has less on his plate today. That being said, it'll be no easy feat conceding 6lb to MAMBONUMBERFIVE, who has taken to fencing like a duck to water. Ben Pauling's charge won at Aintree before following up at Newbury and although improvement will be required, he is open to stacks of it. Mirabad was sent off the outsider of four at Exeter but he put in an excellent round of jumping to score and is more than capable should things go his way.

While Lump Sum sets the standard, MAMBONUMBERFIVE's form could hardly be working out better and he is preferred.

7/4(-40%) | (3) Storm Heart 7/4, Ran to form when Second beaten a length in Handicap Hurdle (Listed) at Leopardstown latest; effective around 2m, acts on Hy, S; back from 11 months off but big form chance and longer trip may suit. Grade 1-placed hurdler ran a cracker in a Leopardstown h'cap when last seen; big chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/6 +24%)Riskaway |
5/6(+24%) | (5) Riskaway 5/6, Improved, up in trip on hurdles debut when winning a maiden at Thurles by 11l last time; effective at 2m4f, acts on sound surface; promising sort from top yard, big player in this. Placed in points and bumpers; got off the mark on hurdles bow at Thurles; can run well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 +0%)Parnell Street |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Parnell Street 9/2, Travelled well and got off the mark with plenty to spare when winning a maiden hurdle at Clonmel by 2 1/2l last time. Effective from 2m to 2m3f on heavy or good ground; progressive type with definite claims here. Bumper winner got off the mark over hurdles at Clonmel last time; has a bit to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (125/1 -89%)Free Flowing |
125/1(-89%) | (2) Free Flowing 125/1, Jumped poorly, was hampered, and not given a hard race when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Galway last time. Off the track for a very long spell; effective from 2m1f to 2m5f on heavy or soft ground; faces a tough assignment. Galway maiden hurdle winner in 2023 was disappointing there next time; watch on return. |

Although STORM HEART hasn't been the easiest to train, he clearly possesses plenty of ability. A reproduction of his runner-up effort in a Listed handicap hurdle at Leopardstown in February is likely to prove too strong for these rivals and a second victory over timber may beckon. Riskaway impressed when making a winning start over the smaller obstacles at Thurles and he can keep the selection honest, along with Parnell Street.

Though he hasn't run since finishing second in a valuable handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival, STORM HEART looks too strong

6th (1) (9/1 -29%)Santos Blue |
9/1(-29%) | (1) Santos Blue 9/1, Yard won this last year; travelled, needed run, ran well to a point comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time; in good form prior; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on S, G; progressive last term, should come on for latest. Well beaten on reappearance, which he's likely to build on; needs a career best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (13/2 -8%)Ambion View |
13/2(-8%) | (6) Ambion View 13/2, Ran to form when second beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest; effective at around 2m-2m6f, acts on Hy, GS; respected although stamina to prove. Second in his only two handicaps; relatively unexposed, with new trip worth a go. |

Worth a market check on this second hurdling start this term; stamina is not proven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (33/1 -65%)Ramo |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Ramo 33/1, Made mistakes and found little when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Returning from a long layoff. Effective from 2m4f to 3m1f and prefers some cut in the ground. Yard can ready one after an absence. Soundly beaten on his latest four starts, three of them last winter; absent 302 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (10/1 +0%)Patriotik |
10/1(+0%) | (7) Patriotik 10/1, Unsuited by a change of tactics when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Effective over 3m and stays further. Currently in modest form. Back to last season's winning mark and not a huge shock if he surges back to form. |

KEABLE showed no signs of rustiness when he made a winning return at Newbury. A 5lb rise for that cosy success is a fair assessment and, with his stamina proven, he has a good chance of further success. Doctor Kildare had been reliable until he was turned over at Doncaster last month and is surely better than he managed that day. He rates a key player in this company. Crebilly and Ambion View shouldn't be underestimated.

Keable and Ambion View are shortlisted but PATRIOTIK could return to form with a win.

Effective over 2m on good ground; made a solid start over timber and should progress further. Won by a head on hurdle debut at Catterick and he's respected under a 7lb penalty. |

2nd (5) (7/2 +36%)Lights Go Down |
7/2(+36%) | (5) Lights Go Down 7/2, Finished very fast and would have won in a few more strides when 1 1/2l third in a juvenile hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Effective around 2m on soft and good to soft ground; has more to offer. Second/third on his two hurdle outings; probably again vulnerable for win-only purposes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/1 +44%)Jedhi Knight |
9/1(+44%) | (3) Jedhi Knight 9/1, Ran to form when finishing 4l third in a handicap at Bath on the Flat most recently. Returns from a short break; others with stronger Flat form make their hurdle debuts here. Modest stayer on the Flat but perhaps the switch to hurdles will unlock more potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (100/1 -52%)Division Day |
100/1(-52%) | (2) Division Day 100/1, Jumped poorly when well beaten in a juvenile hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Should stay 2m over hurdles; consistent and fair up to 1m6f on the Flat but has been disappointing so far over timber. Progressive at an ordinary level on the Flat but he's yet to shine over hurdles. |

5th (4) (5/2 +62%)Kentucky River |
5/2(+62%) | (4) Kentucky River 5/2, Improved for quicker ground when winning a handicap at Pontefract by 7l last time. 40/1(-300%) | (9) Warrior King 40/1, Ran to form when winning a handicap at Kempton on the all-weather by 1/2l last time. Off a short break; consistent performer but will need to find more to land this. Won when last seen (2m, AW); others have stronger Flat form but he's not ruled out. |

50/1(-257%) | (8) Twilight Safari 50/1, Did too much in front and didn't stay when well beaten in a handicap at Wolverhampton on the Flat last time. Back from a short break; needs to improve considerably on hurdle debut. Ability on the Flat but down the field on last two runs and changed hands for 8,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (50/1 +24%)Some Boy Me |
50/1(+24%) | (6) Some Boy Me 50/1, Poor hurdle debut when well beaten in a juvenile event at Catterick last time. Stays 11f on the Flat; modest Flat form and needs to show significant improvement here. Not devoid of ability on Flat but 0-5 in that code and tailed off at 100-1 on hurdle debut. |

Trainer Adrian Keatley took this last year and has a contender here in Catterick winner Indian River. Kentucky River looks an interesting recruit from the Flat after winning a Pontefract handicap by seven lengths, but a chance is taken on SQUARE D'ALBONI. Rated 92 on the Flat with wins at up to Listed level, if he takes to hurdles he could outclass these for the Dan Skelton stable.

Catterick winner INDIAN RIVER carries a 7lb penalty but he's very unexposed and could have lots more left in the tank.

Good maiden winner; stuck in the mud in a Grade 3 last time; interesting off this mark. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (14) (6/1 +14%)En Or |
6/1(+14%) | (14) En Or 6/1, Given too much to do under a negative ride when beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle at Naas last time; effective at 2m and looks well treated on maiden and Flat form. Big chance if ridden more positively. Multiple Flat winner; kept on to be beaten under 9l at Naas 12 days ago; more needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (5/1 +50%)Joueur Masque |
5/1(+50%) | (9) Joueur Masque 5/1, Bit free and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time; effective at 2m on soft or yielding ground; likely to improve now handicapping though mark looks demanding. 11/2(+15%) | (8) Sainte Lucie 11/2, Below form and outclassed when well beaten in the Champion Four Year Old Hurdle (Grade 1) at Punchestown latest; top jockey returns; effective at 2m on yielding or good ground; inconsistent performer but not fully exposed. Only a 4yo who is by no means exposed after one run in a handicap; betting helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (10) (40/1 -100%)Icare Desbois |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Icare Desbois 40/1, Produced a modest effort when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden at Dundalk last time; consistent in this sphere but needs to show more to be competitive at this level. Ex-Willie Mullins 7yo; no closer than 8l in three Flat maidens for his current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (6) (33/1 +0%)Feud |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Feud 33/1, Unsuited by rain-softened ground and may not have stayed when down the field in a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle last time; better suited by 2m on sound surface but has a bit to prove after several below-par runs. Maiden/novice wins during the summer of 2024; mostly disappointing in the meantime. |

BOWENSONFIRE has won three times over hurdles this year, including a valuable handicap at Bellewstown in July, and has held his form well since. He came home strongly into second behind Zillow at Fairyhouse last time and can go one better. Sainte Lucie looked a smart prospect when easily landing a Punchestown maiden on her Irish debut but didn't really progress subsequently, albeit in the top juvenile races. Balko D'ange won a similar event at Navan last month, while others to consider include top-weight Path D'oroux and Tipperary maiden winner Ace Brannigan.

A chance is taken on JOUEUR MASQUE who impressed in winning his maiden before racing too keenly in the mud on his handicap debut.

15/8(+6%) | (3) Thistle Ask 15/8, Jumped boldly and won readily, well treated up 6lb and improved again under an aggressive ride, enjoying making the running. Effective from 2m to 2m3f, acts on good to soft and good ground; tricky to keep sound but hugely progressive for his new yard and should remain competitive off a revised mark. Hugely progressive chaser; beat Saint Segal 7l in a G2 last time and up another 14lb now. |

9/2(-13%) | (1) Saint Segal 9/2, Well treated off an unchanged mark, he improved again when landing a handicap chase by 5 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark at Kelso last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good to firm ground, and remains hugely progressive. A reformed character these days and improved again since second to Thistle Ask at Exeter. |

3rd (2) (18/1 -29%)Boothill |
18/1(-29%) | (2) Boothill 18/1, Outclassed when comfortably held in the Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1) at Sandown last time. Suited by 2m, acts on soft and good ground but probably not heavy. Has had jumping issues and may need to come down a few pounds; vulnerable at Graded level. Mark has come down a long way but promise has been thin on the ground of late. |

12/1(+14%) | (4) Sans Bruit 12/1, Unable to dominate as desired and comfortably held in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time. Effective at 2m on good ground and a bold jumper, though his current mark may be stiff enough. Tends to peak in the spring and recent runs suggest that is set to happen again in 2026. |

150/1(-127%) | (7) Calgary Tiger 150/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time when beaten. Effective at 2m but needs to dominate and looks in need of a drop in grade. Long time without a win and well out of the weights here; best to look elsewhere. |

10/3(-11%) | (5) Ryan's Rocket 10/3, Improved back down in trip on reappearance when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Newbury last time. Effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground, and his novice chase form is working out well. Failed to build on last term's promising start as chaser until reappearance win last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (11/2 -22%)Gabriel's Getaway |
11/2(-22%) | (6) Gabriel's Getaway 11/2, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap chase at Ascot last time. Usually held up, effective from 2m to 2 1/4m on good ground; in form with his mark creeping up and worth stepping back up slightly in trip so may find this on the sharp side. In the form of his life and better than the result last time; conditions ought to suit. |

Unbeaten in three starts for Dan Skelton, THISTLE ASK continued his upward trajectory with an impressive display in the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter. He beat the subsequent handicap winner Saint Segal by seven lengths and is taken to confirm superiority, despite the worse terms. The latter will likely feature again off the back of his convincing win at Kelso, while Ryan's Rocket appreciated the return to 2m when scoring nicely at Newbury and is preferred to Gabriel's Getaway.

Thistle Ask and SAINT SEGAL, the Haldon Gold Cup one-two, are the two to focus on again but the latter can reverse the placings.

Off a short break; effective from 2m2f to 2m6f on good ground and currently in form. Won under Jody Townend at Listowel (2m2f, good to yielding); testing ground won't be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Effective from 2m4f to 3m and suited by cut in the ground; currently out of form. Won over 2m7f (heavy) at Thurles last year and second over 3m next time; out of form since. |

TORPS deserves to get his head in front for the first time after a recent run of placed efforts and, with Emily Costello claiming 4lb from the saddle, the five-year-old has every chance. Midweek Voices won twice last season over fences at Punchestown and Gowran Park and has a handicap mark 10lb lower over the smaller obstacles suggesting he can go well with a recent pipe-opener under his belt. He could get the better of Cork runner-up Rowdy in the race for second.

The step up in trip to 2m4f may well suit TORPS and he can make a winning start in handicap company; Cork second Rowdy can contend

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -57%)Homme Public |
11/1(-57%) | (3) Homme Public 11/1, Disappointed over hurdles when comfortably held in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on good and good to soft ground. Entitled to improve for the return to fences. Merely sixth on both runs this season but on an attractive mark and he likes it here. |

Dan Skelton has won three of the last five runnings of this and has two declared, with Madara the pick as an improving six-year-old last seen finishing second at Cheltenham. He can go well but the absence is a concern and DOYEN DU BAR gets the nod after a promising November third on his first start since February. Haddex Des Obeaux would be interesting if he can get back to his 2023 form.

Having won three times last season, DOYEN DU BAR (nap) made a promising start for Nicky Richards when third at Newbury and gets the nod.

100/1(-52%) | (19) Pats Fancy 100/1, Below form up in grade when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; effective at around 3m and acts on soft and good to soft. Unreliable performer and up against it in this company. Disappointing these days; tailed off in the Trial and is a long way out of the handicap. |

Last year's runner-up Jubilee Express is back to do it all over again and showed he is in great form to make all over an extended 2m7f here earlier this month. Mr Vango beat the winner of this contest last season Val Dancer when just being touched off in the Becher at Aintree and commands huge respect off an unchanged rating. However, HAITI COULEURS is not one to give up on just yet. A lot more was expected when never really travelling and being pulled up in the Betfair Chase at Haydock, but the return to a handicap, along with the step back up to the marathon trip is likely to bring the best out of the Irish National heroine.

Impressive Ascot winner ROCK MY WAY (nap) can score again. Collectors Item may reverse the Trial placings with Jubilee Express.

22/1(+12%) | (2) Blizzard Of Oz 22/1, Pulled up in the Coral Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Newbury last time where travelled well until bad error. Effective from 2½m to 3m and unexposed at the trip. 33/1(+0%) | (26) Noble Birth 33/1, Outpaced but ran to form when fourth, beaten 16l, in a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle. Best around 2¾m and may be better dropped slightly in trip though vulnerable to less exposed rival. Won 2m6f Fairyhouse novice in January; has been found wanting in valuable handicap chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (23) (10/1 +17%)Midnight Our Fred |
10/1(+17%) | (23) Midnight Our Fred 10/1, Made mistakes but improved back from a break when second, beaten 4½l, in a Cork handicap hurdle. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective around 3m and best on a sound surface; holds no secrets from handicapper. Excellent second in this race last year; only 2lb higher now; new headgear tried now. |

BALLYSAX HANK impressed when switched to handicap company over fences, landing the valuable Summer Plate at Market Rasen. The Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding was patiently ridden and drew clear in the closing stages over an extended 2m5f to give hope that he can stay this trip. He subsequently won on the Flat at Gowran and was then just denied in the American Grand National. Midnight Our Fred beat all bar Perceval Legallois in this race last year and made a pleasing return over hurdles at Cork last month, while Scottish Grand National winner Captain Cody was a creditable third to Romeo Coolio when reappearing over an inadequate 2m4f in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse. Weveallbeencaught, Backmersackme, Will The Wise and Mossy Fen Park are others for the shortlist.

WATERFORD WHISPERS is yet to shine over larger obstacles but is thrown in if he can put it all together going up in distance

9/1(-29%) | (7) Bective Abbey 9/1, Improved from his debut when outpaced early but came clear with the winner to finish second, beaten 2l off a 1lb lower mark at Chepstow last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and progressing over fences, likely to win soon. Hurdle wins at 2m3f/2m4f; suited by stiff 2m7f over fences latest; query about sharp 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 +10%)Kap Vert |
3/1(+10%) | (3) Kap Vert 3/1, Won comfortably on chase debut at Taunton last time, improving up in trip to land a handicap by 7 1/2l off an 8lb lower mark despite the race falling apart. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, acts on soft and good ground, and remains unexposed over fences. Exuberant convert to fences when winning on chase debut (2m7f); up 8lb; potential for more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (4/1 +0%)Prince Zaltar |
4/1(+0%) | (6) Prince Zaltar 4/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off this mark at Doncaster last time after being forced to switch several times in the straight. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, acts on soft and good ground, and looks well handicapped based on hurdle form but finishing efforts can be a slight worry. 3m chase winner in Ireland; strongly run race at this trip can suit; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/1 +38%)Wiseguy |
10/1(+38%) | (4) Wiseguy 10/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Newbury last time. Effective around 3m on decent ground but inconsistent and looks on a stiff mark. Goes well fresh, good 2m6f win on return in late 2024, but disappointing reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (10/3 +26%)Montregard |
10/3(+26%) | (5) Montregard 10/3, Improved again when back from a break to win a handicap at Ascot by 2 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark. Effective at 3m, acts on good ground, and looks progressive with potential for further improvement over fences. Better since visored and won last two, the latest at 3m (good); up 6lb; good claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (15/2 +17%)Beachcomber |
15/2(+17%) | (2) Beachcomber 15/2, Won this race last year but was pulled up in the Sodexo Live! Gold Cup at Ascot last time. Returns from a short break, effective at 3m on decent ground, though form is inconsistent. Unpredictable but useful win in this last year; not so good since and still 7lb higher. |

Beachcomber's yard has returned to form and last year's easy winner enters calculations despite a 7lb higher mark. Montregard has improved for the application of a visor and returned the decisive winner at Ascot to land a double, but it could pay to stick with KAP VERT. The taking winner at Taunton upped to 2m7f for his first start over the larger obstacles, there looks plenty more to come from the five-year-old over fences and he's taken to defy an 8lb hike.

In an open race KAP VERT is taken to confirm the excellent impression he made on his recent chase debut at Taunton.

10/3(+85%) | (6) Is Charlie Around 10/3, Travelled well but found little when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Cork last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective over 2m4f and could come on for that run despite inconsistency. Respectable run on handicap debut at Cork, not quite getting home over 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (11/1 -83%)Big Dee |
11/1(-83%) | (8) Big Dee 11/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time. May show improvement now switched to handicaps. Smart bumper form a couple of years ago and could be on a nice mark for handicap debut. |

28/1(+30%) | (10) Fighting Falcon 28/1, Ran to a moderate level when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Navan last time. Effective at 2m with some cut; could do better now handicapping. Has run well to a point in his last couple of maidens and should come on from Navan outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

15/2(-7%) | (14) The Sugarhill Lady 15/2, May have found the ground too testing when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m on good ground but currently out of form. Maiden runs were respectable but has struggled in handicaps; needs to up her game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (15/2 -25%)Marelly |
15/2(-25%) | (11) Marelly 15/2, Made his move too soon off a strong pace and finished down the field in a handicap hurdle at Naas last time. Effective at 2m and prefers some give; currently out of form. Won a couple of hurdles on heavy in 2022; not a bad run last time at Naas. |

33/1(-408%) | (9) Rackemandstackem 33/1, Made no impact from off the pace when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time. Could improve now entering handicap company. Middle maiden run at Down Royal makes him of interest on handicap debut; yard in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (50/1 -25%)Trebizond |
50/1(-25%) | (3) Trebizond 50/1, Did best of those forcing a strong pace when fourth, beaten 7 1/4l, in a handicap hurdle at Galway last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (9/2 +44%)Wardens Whisper |
9/2(+44%) | (7) Wardens Whisper 9/2, Ran to form when 10l third in a handicap hurdle at Cork last time. Effective at 2m on soft or good ground; can go well again. Prominent racer comes here in good form; handles soft, should be okay on this terrain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (33/1 -83%)Metamorpheus |
33/1(-83%) | (5) Metamorpheus 33/1, May have found the ground too testing when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time. Effective at 2m on a decent surface; well treated on old juvenile form but a frustrating type. Mid-division on stable debut at Navan and testing ground won't help his cause. |

GWAN TADHG returns from a lengthy absence but if repeating the level of his Tramore third in May 2024, he has every chance off 1lb lower. Trebizond won twice in 2023 and is one to watch on his first start since August the same year, while Naas fourth King Kali is another to consider. Others to note are Peaceinthevalley and Wardens Whisper.

Having shown promise in a Down Royal maiden, RACKEMANDSTACKEM, who represents a resurgent stable, is chosen to score on handicap debut

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (11/1 -10%)Agent Argylle |
11/1(-10%) | (1) Agent Argylle 11/1, Point winner; returning from a break and may need the run but clearly possesses ability and is a contender. Bought for £46,000 after winning Irish point; new stable 4-30 in bumpers; likely type. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (50/1 -52%)Good Boy Griff |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Good Boy Griff 50/1, Repeated an unpromising debut when well beaten in a Southwell bumper last time; effective at 2m-2m4f but has plenty to prove. Well held at Uttoxeter and Southwell; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (28/1 -75%)Fullythermal |
28/1(-75%) | (5) Fullythermal 28/1, 40,000 euros Jack Hobbs gelding; half-brother to hurdle and chase winner Midnight Mary, a very useful performer at 20f. 40,000euros 3yo; yard does well in bumpers and this one makes some appeal on paper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (10/1 +17%)Get On Son |
10/1(+17%) | (6) Get On Son 10/1, £11,000 Getaway gelding; closely related to the smart hurdler Gallant Oscar; from a yard currently in form. £11,000 3yo; dam won bumper; in-form stable had big-priced bumper winner last month. |

INK BLACK HEART showed promise when fourth at Wincanton in a similar race and, if he is fully tuned up for his first start for Dan Skelton, then there is every chance he can prove too good for these rivals. Ewden Valley is an interesting newcomer for the O'Neills as a son of Crystal Ocean and he is one to watch, while point-to-point winner Agent Argylle is another to bear in mind.

He may have gone off at 80-1 on his debut but A LIKEABLE ROGUE shaped with abundant promise in fourth at Cheltenham.

3rd (4) (8/1 +20%)Royal Jewel |
8/1(+20%) | (4) Royal Jewel 8/1, From a yard that won this last year; scored by 1 1/2l off an 8lb lower mark at Newton Abbot three starts ago; made too much use of last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and suited by cut; steadily progressive before latest effort. Well held on latest outing but was in career-best form beforehand; player if back on song. |

4th (2) (25/1 -150%)Western General |
25/1(-150%) | (2) Western General 25/1, Made mistakes and was outclassed when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Newbury last time; effective at 2m and best with cut in the ground, but current mark looks stiff. Took very well to fences last season (three wins) but comes here with a point to prove. |

5th (6) (10/1 +17%)Galop De Chasse |
10/1(+17%) | (6) Galop De Chasse 10/1, From a yard with two wins in the last seven runnings of this race; pulled up in a handicap chase at Newton Abbot last time when returning from a long layoff; best around 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground; needs to bounce back. 20/1(+20%) | (7) Dr T J Eckleburg 20/1, Never jumped or travelled and again failed to handle the track when well beaten in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time; usually held up and suited by 2m with cut; below par this season but the handicapper is relenting. Course winner last season; needs to better recent efforts but worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (11/8 +27%)Ben Solo |
11/8(+27%) | (5) Ben Solo 11/8, Scored by 3l off a 10lb lower mark here penultimate start; jumped well, improved again under positive ride last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on S, G; looks a natural and progressing over fences. C&D winner last month and ran another big race from the front when second here 21 days ago. |

A C&D winner two starts ago, Ben Solo is bound to retain plenty of support, despite failing to justify odds-on favouritism when second over track and trip subsequently. Toss Of A Coin benefited from the switch to the Alan Jones stable to score over an extended 2m7f here, although he will need to prove as effective over this shorter distance. The one who appeals most is DONNACHA, who finished clear of the third when hitting the woodwork at Exeter and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him take a step forward.

The most interesting runner is GALOP DE CHASSE, who begins his new season from a tempting mark and has a very solid record when fresh.

9th (9) (66/1 -32%)La Rocca Lass |
66/1(-32%) | (9) La Rocca Lass 66/1, Stopped quickly when comfortably held in a Mares bumper at Wexford last time; back from a short break, effective at 2m, but more needed to get off the mark. The best of her bumper runs was when 11l third at Punchestown in October; can rule out. |

Willie Mullins has won this bumper six times in the past decade, including with Fact To File and Appreciate It, and ARCADIAN EMPEROR could add to his tally. The son of Kamsin made a favourable impression when beating Lisbane Park (won since over hurdles) in a Lisronagh point-to-point for Sam Curling and he gets the vote over Generous Risk, who also won between the flags and has been placed on both bumper starts. Derek O'Connor is a notable booking on Beechwood Road, while Barnahash Mason made some late progress on his debut over hurdles at Thurles.

ARCADIAN EMPEROR was a comfortable winner of a point-to-point and could prove too strong on his first run for the champion trainer

1st (7) (5/1 +33%)Williethebuilder |
5/1(+33%) | (7) Williethebuilder 5/1, No match for the unexposed winner but ran to form, benefiting from a pace collapse when second, beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster last time. Effective at 2m and on a good mark if building on that recent revival. Has won off higher mark; second to handicap blot at Doncaster; commands major respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 -17%)Trustintimes |
7/2(-17%) | (4) Trustintimes 7/2, Improved and got the first run on the runner-up when landing a handicap by 1l off a 6lb lower mark at Ascot last time. Effective at 2m, his form has been emphatically franked and he may still be ahead of the handicapper. 3-3 over hurdles; game winner at Ascot last time; should go well again despite a 6lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/2 +0%)Wandering Ego |
7/2(+0%) | (6) Wandering Ego 7/2, Ran to form but just flattened out under a penalty when fourth, beaten 6l in a novice hurdle here last time. Progressive in bumpers at 2m and may improve further when stepped up in distance. Stratford winner in October; C&D fourth has worked out well; unexposed for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/4 +33%)Indemnity |
6/4(+33%) | (5) Indemnity 6/4, Scored by 2l off a 9lb lower mark at Market Rasen three starts back. Travelled well and ran to form when third, beaten 4 1/4l off 122 last time on ground softer than ideal. Suited by 2m on a sound surface with progressive form emphatically franked. Progressive 5yo; creeping up the weights but should give another good account of himself. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (25/1 +0%)Washington |
25/1(+0%) | (1) Washington 25/1, Scored by 3l off a 3lb lower mark at Chepstow three starts back. Found a stiff mark when seventh, beaten 30l off 132 last time. Effective at 2m on soft or good ground, but his current mark demands more. Made winning return at Chepstow in October but well beaten since; may be vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (9/1 +25%)De Temps En Temps |
9/1(+25%) | (3) De Temps En Temps 9/1, Went clear but made too much use of himself when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Effective from 2m to 3m on soft or good ground. In good form in general since moving from Ireland and fair mark on novice form. Forced too strong a pace last time, following two front-running wins; still has potential. |

INDEMNITY has faced tougher assignments on his last couple of starts and placed on both occasions. A respectable third in the Gerry Feilden at Newbury last month, Emma Lavelle's charge is taken to make the most of this easier opportunity. The progressive Trustintimes made a winning handicap debut when scoring at Ascot and beating a subsequent winner in the process. He will be hard to keep out of the finish, while Wandering Ego is open to improvement now handicapping for the first time and makes more appeal than Williethebuilder.

Wandering Ego is unexposed but WILLIETHEBUILDER (nap) looks the one to be on after shaping well behind a handicap blot at Doncaster.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (8/1 +20%)Burlington House |
8/1(+20%) | (10) Burlington House 8/1, Awkward head carriage but returned to form up in trip when fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel latest; trainer in form; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on Hy, G; chance in this. Modest Flat performer in Britain; has shown handicap-winning potential on last two starts. |

3rd (4) (5/1 -25%)Kelly's Cosmos |
5/1(-25%) | (4) Kelly's Cosmos 5/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle at Galway last time. Back from a short break; effective from 2m to 2m4f on a sound surface. 5th (11) (7/4 +13%)Diamond Dollar |
7/4(+13%) | (11) Diamond Dollar 7/4, Travelled up in trip but may not have stayed on testing ground having looked a threat when beaten 6l in a handicap hurdle at Cork last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on Hy, S; remains of strong interest. Hadn't shown much until last time when well-backed favourite at Cork; drop to 2m may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (100/1 -614%)Sunrise Strider |
100/1(-614%) | (14) Sunrise Strider 100/1, Again ran to a moderate level when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time. Hood fitted for the first time; all to prove but may show improvement now handicapping. Well held in three maidens; hood goes on for handicap debut; yard does quite well here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (20/1 +9%)Paradise Lost |
20/1(+9%) | (2) Paradise Lost 20/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap at Gowran Park last time. Returns from a short break; effective at 2m with some cut but has a bit to prove at present. 1m4f winner last year but out of form under both codes this year. |

Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on heavy to yielding ground; in good order over hurdles. Has twice run well in Clonmel handicaps, beaten a little over 2l each time; tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (15) (100/1 -100%)Nobody |
100/1(-100%) | (15) Nobody 100/1, Never in the race when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Tipperary last time. Yet to show any form over hurdles. Modest form on the level and similar story over hurdles, including in first two handicaps. |

25/1(-127%) | (13) Fourcardrun 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Blinkers on for the first time; effective at 2m and acts on soft ground; needs to find more from this mark. Modest form so far including in first two handicaps; drops back in trip; blinkered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (12) (66/1 -267%)Felicity Smoak |
66/1(-267%) | (12) Felicity Smoak 66/1, May have found the ground too testing when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective at 2m and acts on a sound surface; testing conditions remain a concern. Chased home subsequent improver on hurdling debut in the summer; yet to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (9) (40/1 -122%)Kofino |
40/1(-122%) | (9) Kofino 40/1, Produced his best effort so far when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last time. Effective at 2m on heavy ground and may progress now handicapping. Showed a bit more last time when beaten 20l in Clonmel maiden on heavy; first handicap. |

RIVER VALE won nicely at Naas last time on his return to 2m. He has a 7lb hike to contend with, but there could be more to come over this distance and the underfoot conditions remain in his favour. Harry's Dream is less certain to appreciate the testing going after scoring on better ground at Thurles last month. The latter could still have a say in proceedings, while Clonmel fourth Sheriffhill makes most appeal of the rest.

A decisive winner on testing ground at Naas last time, RIVER VALE may be able to follow up off a 7lb higher mark

C&D winner in September; two poor runs and one good run have followed; others are safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/8 +38%)Flowstate |
15/8(+38%) | (1) Flowstate 15/8, Back to best up in trip after a series of good efforts, landing a handicap by 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; effective over 6/7f; ultra-consistent and enjoyed the 7f trip last time. Improved for the step up to 7f when winning at Newcastle 11 days ago; big player up 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

10/3(-11%) | (2) Bass Player 10/3, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off this mark here last time; effective at 8f and acts well on the all-weather; now on a fair mark and the drop in trip may suit. Solid 3rd over 8.6f here two weeks ago; runs off the same mark and should make a bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 +31%)Super Hit |
9/2(+31%) | (3) Super Hit 9/2, Disappointing when beaten 9l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective over 7/8f and acts on a sound surface; in and out of form but has a chance at best. Inconsistent but he is on a good mark if this is one of his going days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (11/1 +0%)Act Of Violence |
11/1(+0%) | (7) Act Of Violence 11/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap here most recently but had been in good form prior; best at 6f and acts well on a sound surface; down 2lb and could bounce back. Hasn't lived up to market expectation here in his two runs for new yard; 7f still a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (11/1 -57%)Von Krolock |
11/1(-57%) | (10) Von Krolock 11/1, Close to the balance of recent form when sixth, beaten 5l off 54 last time; effective over 6/7f and acts on the all-weather; needs to return to better form. C&D winner; unplaced in two 0-55s at Southwell last week; blinkers replace a visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (10/1 -43%)Masqool |
10/1(-43%) | (6) Masqool 10/1, Bit below form again when beaten 7l in a handicap here last time; effective between 8-10f and better on the all-weather; drop back in trip could be a concern. Prolific winner on AW, the latest off 1lb lower in August; usually seen over longer trips. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (125/1 -279%)Rogue Soldier |
125/1(-279%) | (5) Rogue Soldier 125/1, Poor effort when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently; effective over 7/8f and acts on any surface; lost form before a break. Poor form in four runs for new stable earlier in the year; too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (80/1 -220%)Poet |
80/1(-220%) | (11) Poet 80/1, Poor effort when finishing down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recently; effective over 6-7f and acts on the all-weather; currently out of form. Yet to win over 7f and recent efforts haven't pointed to an imminent win. |

FLOWSTATE won more comfortably than the winning margin suggests at Newcastle 11 days ago and makes plenty of appeal in here despite the burden of top weight. That success was reward for several creditable efforts in defeat previously and he's well worth sticking with while in this sort of form. The dangers are course winner Bass Player and Nacho Nacho Nacho.

Stepping up to 7f prompted a step forward from FLOWSTATE 11 days ago and he can defy a small rise in the weights.

10/1(-33%) | (2) Dapper Gee Gee 10/1, Made too much use of when beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Appears best at 7f, now goes 8f; excuses for latest runs but unproven on this surface. Ran okay in a stronger race over C&D three weeks ago; other pace to deal with today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/1 -25%)Groundsman |
10/1(-25%) | (3) Groundsman 10/1, Bit below par when made too much use of and beaten 4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective at 6–7f and acts on the all-weather; in solid form. C&D win in September; two fair runs for new yard since; easy lead unlikely in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/2 +86%)Blue Eclipse |
7/2(+86%) | (1) Blue Eclipse 7/2, Didn't stay when well beaten in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective over 7f and acts on the all-weather, but has plenty to prove. Struggled in handicaps for Alice Haynes after maiden win; down in trip/class for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (16/1 +20%)Fistral Beach |
16/1(+20%) | (9) Fistral Beach 16/1, Got too far back when beaten 9l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Suited by 7f and best on the all-weather; needs to show more than of late. On a good mark judged on her C&D win in April; quiet of late but a revival is possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (18/5 -20%)No Knee Never |
18/5(-20%) | (4) No Knee Never 18/5, Ran to form when third, beaten 1/2l off 62 last time, shaping as if suited by 7f. Effective from 6–8f and acts on the all-weather; on a favourable mark and step up in trip should help. In good form since headgear went on; close 3rd off this mark latest; respected back at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (16/1 -146%)Blue Empress |
16/1(-146%) | (7) Blue Empress 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off this mark at Lingfield last time. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather; a maiden but has hit form recently. Placed on her last four starts (all 7f on AW); may prove vulnerable for win purposes again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (7/1 -17%)Fulford Cross |
7/1(-17%) | (8) Fulford Cross 7/1, Produced best run to date when dropped back in trip, winning a handicap by a head off a 2lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective over 7f and acts on the all-weather; mark still looks fair. Got up late to win at Lingfield (7f) ten days ago; should remain competitive up just 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (14/1 -56%)Amaysmont |
14/1(-56%) | (6) Amaysmont 14/1, Didn't settle when stepped up in trip, beaten 7l in a handicap here last time. Effective from 6–8f and best on the all-weather; needs to relax to recapture form and mark looks stiff. Conditions fine and he's on a dangerous mark; can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (5/1 -43%)Harbour Vision |
5/1(-43%) | (5) Harbour Vision 5/1, Back to form returned to 7f when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Suited by 7–8f and acts on the all-weather; remains on a workable mark. 15th win of his long career last week (C&D); wide draw/4lb rise may scupper the follow up. |

HARBOUR VISION was a bit keen early doors en route to scoring over C&D last week and can be marked up as a result. He won with plenty in hand in the end and the quick turnaround suggests the veteran has come out of that race well. He can double up at the expense of No Knee Never, who won here before a solid Southwell third. Blue Empress is next best.

Fulford Cross is respected but stepping back up in trip can see NO KNEE NEVER record his second win for James Owen.

4/11(+76%) | (4) Man Of Vision 4/11, Ran fairly when beaten 5l in a Newmarket novice last time, fitted with a tongue-tie. Off a short break and effective at 7f. Breathing remains a slight worry, but more to come if it holds up. Both starts over 7f on turf; a sharper test at the trip can suit now switched to AW. |

2nd (6) (28/1 -600%)Get An Attitude |
28/1(-600%) | (6) Get An Attitude 28/1, Showed good professionalism and solid effort when runner-up beaten 3 1/2l in a Newcastle novice on debut. Speedily bred, handles 6f and the all-weather. A big filly likely to make further improvement. Well held when long odds-on for 6f debut in an ordinary Newcastle race; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (12/1 -20%)Caviar Cowboy |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Caviar Cowboy 12/1, Yard won this last year; 26 Feb; 55,000gns Zoustar colt; full-brother to Sir Les Patterson, very useful at 6f; dam very smart at 6f; trainer in form. Attractive and precocious pedigree; interesting newcomer who is worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 -211%)Delinquent |
7/1(-211%) | (3) Delinquent 7/1, Didn't stay up in trip when beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden at York last time. Returns from a break and has shown effectiveness at 6f. Yet to prove he stays 7f but could fare better on this sharper track down in class. Just touched off on 6f debut; lesser run over 7f since; may well show more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/2 +36%)Quick Quasar |

6th (1) (125/1 -279%)Big Moonrise |
125/1(-279%) | (1) Big Moonrise 125/1, Made late gains when fourth beaten 17l in a maiden at Southwell on debut. Bred to want 10f and acts on the all-weather. A big gelding who should improve, especially beyond 7f. 40-1 for 7f debut at Southwell when finishing remote after a slow start; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (150/1 -275%)Life After Love |
150/1(-275%) | (7) Life After Love 150/1, Improved from debut when beaten 8l in a Southwell novice last time. Hood on for the first time. By a miler out of a sprinter, she has a nice pedigree and is progressing, though modest so far. Minor form at 7f and 6f; hood fitted; likely of more interest when handicapping. |

MAN OF VISION was a little bit disappointing at Newmarket in October when only fifth following a creditable Yarmouth second on debut. However, Charlie Appleby has given him plenty of time to recover and he could be a completely different proposition now on his all-weather bow. Delinquent, who boasts a similar profile to the selection, heads the list of dangers from Get An Attitude.

Delinquent may well return to form and run up to his debut effort but MAN OF VISION has plenty going for him on his AW debut.

7/2(-17%) | (3) Three On Thursday 7/2, From a yard that won this race last year; improved back up in trip to land a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Trained by a top course handler, suited by 10-12f and acts on the all-weather; consistent and weighted to go well. Opened her account in Lingfield event last time for a career-best performance. |

12/1(+40%) | (4) Guinness Lad 12/1, Raced too freely when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Usually held up and effective around 10f on the all-weather; form has dipped lately. Good efforts in May but hasn't fared so well since returning from layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (14/1 -17%)Nekazari |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Nekazari 14/1, Has shown no worthwhile form so far; cheekpieces applied for the first time. Plenty to prove at this level. Folded tamely on British debut but attracted support and may leave that effort behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (11/4 +8%)Mr Zippi |
11/4(+8%) | (1) Mr Zippi 11/4, Showed a good attitude when winning going away up in trip, landing a handicap by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Southwell last time. Effective from 12f to 14f and suited by the all-weather; improving but his mark now looks quite stiff. Bids for a hat-trick after wins at Newcastle and Southwell; respected in current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (50/1 -257%)Grand Harbour |
50/1(-257%) | (11) Grand Harbour 50/1, Didn't stay after racing freely up in trip when well beaten in a Chelmsford handicap last time. Returns from a break; effective from 10f to 12f on sound surfaces, and the shorter trip should suit. 0-9 for Sir Mark Prescott; sold for 1,600gns since last run. |

Plenty will cast their eye upon the hat-trick seeking Mr Zippi, who went in over 1m6f at Southwell earlier this month and won't have any issues with this drop back in trip. However, MOON OVER THE SEA produced a better performance when making the frame over track and trip last month and was kindly dropped 1lb. The six-year-old lurks on an appealing mark and could record a sixth course success. Last-time-out Lingfield scorer Three On Thursday completes the shortlist.

Being open to further progress on AW and well worth another crack at this trip, KRISSY is preferred. Mr Zippi is second pick.

7/1(+30%) | (5) Objector 7/1, 18 Mar; 100,000 euros Dark Angel gelding; full-brother to Perfect Angel, high-class at 6f; dam smart at 5f at 2yo; looks an unlikely winner on debut. Debutant; has a doubt over the trip but market support should be noted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/1 -82%)Mythical Bay |
10/1(-82%) | (4) Mythical Bay 10/1, Made too much use of after showing promise on debut when well beaten in a novice at Newcastle last time. Effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather; can do better when ridden more patiently. Rather disappointing last time but may yet confirm the form of his debut effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (25/1 -79%)Empirical |
25/1(-79%) | (1) Empirical 25/1, Couldn't go the pace and looked to need further when well beaten in a maiden at Southwell on debut. Shows speed in his pedigree but shaped as a middle-distance type; improvement likely with a step-up in trip. Too green to do himself justice in Southwell maiden; should do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (4/1 -100%)Tewkesbury |
4/1(-100%) | (7) Tewkesbury 4/1, Travelled best but was mugged late when second, beaten a neck, in a maiden here last time. Effective at 8/9f and acts on the all-weather; still has a bit more to give and looks capable of landing a modest maiden or novice. Neck second when favourite for C&D maiden last time; major contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (50/1 -100%)Von Dutch |
50/1(-100%) | (9) Von Dutch 50/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a novice at Southwell on his only start. Middle-distance bred and has everything to prove. Always towards the rear in Southwell contest but is the type to do better. |

6th (10) (150/1 -650%)Wedonttellthetruth |
150/1(-650%) | (10) Wedonttellthetruth 150/1, Fair debut when beaten 9 1/4l in a novice here first time out. Bred to appreciate 10f or further and should improve. Recorded a modest RPR in 9.5f event at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (150/1 -355%)Campeona |
150/1(-355%) | (11) Campeona 150/1, Outpaced and looked to need much further when well beaten in a novice at Kempton last time. Middle-distance bred and likely to be seen to better effect once tackling longer trips from 7f. Prescott filly who should be more interesting when switched to handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (150/1 -355%)Queen Of Astolat |
150/1(-355%) | (13) Queen Of Astolat 150/1, Never figured when stepped up in trip and was well beaten in a novice at Chelmsford last time. Middle-distance bred and may prefer a sound surface; modest so far. Plenty to find on the figures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (3/1 0%)Lorca's Waltz |
3/1(0%) | (3) Lorca's Waltz 3/1, 7 Apr; Lope De Vega colt; half-brother to General Idea, useful at 10f; dam high-class at 6f; trainer in form; top trainer; yard won this last year. Lope De Vega colt who is bred to handle this surface; interesting newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (50/1 -213%)Saxophonic |
50/1(-213%) | (6) Saxophonic 50/1, Ran to a similar modest level to debut when beaten 7l in a maiden here last time. Bred for middle distances and cost 625,000gns; a big, strong sort who may need further to realise his potential. Likely to be more interesting in handicaps shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (200/1 -300%)Jerseygeordie |
200/1(-300%) | (2) Jerseygeordie 200/1, Outpaced and showed little when well beaten in a novice at Lingfield on debut. With plenty of stamina on the sire's side, he probably needs a significant step-up in trip to reveal ability. Always behind in 1m contest at Lingfield on Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (13/2 +0%)Turtle Reef |
13/2(+0%) | (8) Turtle Reef 13/2, Backed up a solid debut effort when beaten 5l in a novice at Newcastle last time. Effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather; likely to have more to come. Not out of this on form but his ideal scene may be handicaps soon. |

It's hard to get away from TEWKESBURY, who progressed from his introduction to hit the crossbar over C&D and looks to have been found a good opportunity. As long as the son of Ghaiyyath navigates his tricky draw in stall 13, he will prove very hard to beat. Lorca's Waltz is related to plenty of winners and needs to be monitored in the betting market for the in-form William Haggas team. Of the remainder, Lady Dora Mae makes the most appeal.

The vote goes to attractively bred newcomer LORCA'S WALTZ, ahead of Tewkesbury.

Off a short break; effective 8-11f on this surface. Just a bit to prove after two modest runs but the mark has eased. New stable quick to drop him back in trip; not fully exposed just yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 -18%)Flame Of Forest |
13/2(-18%) | (3) Flame Of Forest 13/2, Didn't get the best run and was better than the bare form when second, beaten 6l, in a novice at Newcastle last time. Off a short break; effective at 7f with further likely to suit. Big gelding with more to come. Unexposed and progressive 3yo; interesting contender upped in trip for handicap debut. |

12/1(+14%) | (6) Farasi Lane 12/1, Bit below form when beaten 3 1/4l off a 2lb higher mark here last time. Effective 7-9f on this surface; overall form moving in the right direction. 11lb lower than when 2nd in the Lincoln Trial here in March; mixed bag since. |

5th (11) (28/1 -40%)Boubyan |
28/1(-40%) | (11) Boubyan 28/1, Disappointing when well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective at 1m and likely to stay further; acts on any surface but inconsistent of late. Flopped at Newcastle last time; earlier C&D third brings him into the reckoning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (9/2 -64%)Rajapour |
9/2(-64%) | (2) Rajapour 9/2, Much improved for the visor when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Effective around 8f and on this surface; still on a workable mark if the headgear remains effective. Ready C&D win 12 days ago when visored for the first time; well in if headgear works again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (2/1 +43%)Sheikh Raj |
2/1(+43%) | (8) Sheikh Raj 2/1, Good effort fitted with blinkers when beaten a head off a 2lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective 7/8f and on this surface; looks on a competitive mark. As good as ever with Lingfield 2nd 19 days ago (1m); up 2lb but still looks a major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (100/1 -100%)Enthused |
100/1(-100%) | (12) Enthused 100/1, Poor effort when well beaten in a handicap here last time. Effective up to 12f on this surface; needs further and enthusiasm a concern. Down in the weights but doesn't look to be in the form required to capitalise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (22/1 -120%)Kindest Nation |
22/1(-120%) | (5) Kindest Nation 22/1, Scored by 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle two starts back. Bit too much to do but fair effort when fourth, beaten 4 1/4l, off 78 last time. Effective at 8f and suited by a stiff 7f on this surface; well treated and has a chance. 7f win at Newcastle last month; not quite so good one week later and stamina not assured. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (33/1 -230%)Book Of Life |
33/1(-230%) | (13) Book Of Life 33/1, Back to form when dropped in trip and beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Trainer in good form; effective 7-10f on this surface; fair mark and has a chance. Course winner off this mark; solid 3rd here three weeeks ago (7f); needs more up in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (16/1 -113%)Silver Samurai |
16/1(-113%) | (1) Silver Samurai 16/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Kempton last time; usually held up and probably needs 7f nowadays. In solid form on this surface, and the handicapper is relenting. On a losing run and stepping back up in trip isn't enough to earn him the vote. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (80/1 -142%)Kolsai |
80/1(-142%) | (4) Kolsai 80/1, Moderate again on second GB start when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap here last time; cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective 7-9f; might still be a bit high in the weights. Well beaten in two runs for new yard after a spell in Hong Kong; cheekpieces now tried. |

Flame Of Forest is the least exposed of these and makes his handicap debut after finishing a well-beaten second under a penalty at Newcastle in October. However, a first-time visor sparked huge improvement out of RAJAPOUR to go in by over a length over track and trip recently. Provided the headgear has the desired affect again, the five-year-old will prove a tough nut to crack. Kindest Nation is another to note.

Rajapour and SHEIKH RAJ are both reliant on headgear working a second time but they appeal as the pair to focus on.

11/1(+50%) | (1) Fools Rush In 11/1, Made too much use of and finished down the field in a handicap here last time; effective at 7f and suited by the all-weather nowadays; needs a major rebound. Struggled back from summer break but drops in grade and return of a tongue tie a big plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 -180%)Lhebayeb |
28/1(-180%) | (7) Lhebayeb 28/1, Made a lot of use of on heavy ground when finishing down the field in a Bath handicap last time; back from a short break; effective over 8-10f and acts on the all-weather; may need the run after a layoff. Two C&D wins this year; on a winning mark and not ruled out back from a short break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (18/1 +10%)Supernova Steps |
18/1(+10%) | (11) Supernova Steps 18/1, Failed to stay when stepped up in trip, finishing down the field in a Southwell handicap last time; best at 6-7f and acts on the all-weather; needs to rediscover earlier form. Should be capable off this mark but her stamina has to be taken on trust. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (16/1 +52%)Boujee Gold |
16/1(+52%) | (10) Boujee Gold 16/1, A bit keen and again below form when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap here last time; from a top course trainer; usually held up; effective over 8-9f on the all-weather; needs to bounce back. Slow-starter; mixed bag since returning to action in September; others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (11/2 +45%)Mbappe |
11/2(+45%) | (2) Mbappe 11/2, Got too far back when beaten 4 1/2l in a Kempton handicap last time; returns from a short break; effective over 7-8f on a sound surface; fairly treated if finding best form. Not at his best last time but drops into a 0-60 and not out of it on this year's peak runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (100/1 -52%)Pacific Prince |
100/1(-52%) | (4) Pacific Prince 100/1, Missed the break and finished down the field in a Kempton handicap last time; yet to show any reliable form. Poor form in three runs for this yard; plenty to prove after 171 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (10/1 -150%)Danehill Star |
10/1(-150%) | (3) Danehill Star 10/1, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off this mark at Brighton last time; trained by a top course trainer; returning from a break; effective over 8-10f and acts on the all-weather; consistent performer. Four wins on AW early in the year; runner-up twice at Brighton in August; absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (125/1 -525%)Summer Evening |
125/1(-525%) | (6) Summer Evening 125/1, Hooded and didn't stay when finishing down the field in a maiden here last time; blinkers applied for the first time; bred to be effective over 8-10f but yet to show consistent form. Little solid form in three maiden/novice runs; blinkers added for handicap debut. |

CHARLATAN is a previous C&D winner that hinted at a revival when second at Lingfield 10 days ago. He won't need much of a step forward to go one better back here. R P Mcmurphy won over track and trip on his penultimate start and wasn't beaten far off this mark at Southwell last week. Another bold showing looks likely in this company. The Dark Baron and Danehill Star are the pick of the rest based on recent form.

The Dark Baron is greatly respected but the return of a tongue tie could be the catalyst for a return to form from FOOLS RUSH IN.

On a useful mark and the distance should suit. Close second at Southwell on return from break last time; won over C&D in April; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

50/1(+24%) | (4) Oviedo 50/1, Poor effort when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently. Usually held up. Effective up to 10f and acts on a sound surface. Has lost enthusiasm. Holds weak claims on his form for current yard; new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (11/1 -10%)Appleblossomwhite |
11/1(-10%) | (6) Appleblossomwhite 11/1, Poor effort when comfortably held in a juvenile hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Should stay 2m over hurdles but others look stronger. Ran respectably over 1m6f on last Flat attempt but has gained her wins over shorter. |

DAARIS is a dual C&D winner who has been consistent in three starts since returning from a short break and he looks worth another chance off an unchanged rating. Himself got off the mark at Newcastle last month and is interesting stepping back up in trip from just 2lb higher. Zooks and Appleblossomwhite are others capable of bold showings at this level.

Back at the scene of her spring win, GRAND DUCHESS OLGA (nap) holds particularly strong claims. Daaris is second choice.

Good run here on Monday and better expected back up at his preferred trip. |

9th (3) (9/1 -50%)Early Release |
9/1(-50%) | (3) Early Release 9/1, Built on recent revival back up in trip with a clear passage, landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Kempton last time; returning from a break; effective at 5-6f. Career best when making all at Kempton (6f) in September; up 6lb & other pace to deal with. |

10th (10) (33/1 -65%)Cali Case |
33/1(-65%) | (10) Cali Case 33/1, Ran about to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on the all-weather; mark has eased and looks competitive. Promising stable debut here 19 days ago but he will need more to come out on top today. |

11th (11) (33/1 +0%)Ten Club |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Ten Club 33/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 2lb lower mark at Lingfield three starts back; poor effort when tenth beaten 7l off 61 last time; wide draw; effective at 6/7f on the all-weather; has lost form. Not at his best on last two starts but this should be run to suit & he's feasibly weighted. |

TWILIGHT MADNESS has flourished back over 6f lately and is the most convincing option based on recent performances. Having won off higher marks in the past, a 2lb rise for his C&D win 19 days ago might not be enough to prevent the seven-year-old from completing a hat-trick. Fellow last-time-out winner Early Release is feared the most, while Zoulu Warrior can also go well.

Twilight Madness can go well in his hat-trick bid but EM JAY KAY is better drawn and may be the answer.
Ths is the racecard key.
