9/4(+25%)
(7) Spillane's Tower 9/4, Useful hurdler. Very good fourth of 12 in novice chase at Navan (17f, heavy, 25/1) 24 days ago. Open to progress.
Two solid runs over fences but may need a longer trip to maximise his potential.

Firm Footings

10/3(+17%)
(3) Firm Footings 10/3, Useful hurdler. Latest win at Sligo in October. Respectable fifth of 19 in handicap hurdle (5/1) at Naas (19.9f, soft) 30 days ago. Makes chase debut.
Decent hurdler and half-brother to smart Monalee could well make a better chaser.

(1) Captain Conby 6/1, Useful hurdler. Bit below form 18¼ lengths third of 6 to Knappers Hill in Rising Stars Novices' Chase (5/1) at Wincanton (20.2f, soft) 31 days ago.

(4) Hgranca De Thaix 13/2, Useful hurdler. Third of 13 in novice chase (9/2) at Fairyhouse (16.5f, soft) on debut over fences 66 days ago. Open to improvement.
Okay race on chase debut at Fairyhouse in October; lot more likely needed here though.
LTO Selection:

12:00 Punchestown Maiden Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SPILLANE'S TOWER had Arctic Bresil and Firm Footings behind him when runner-up in a good novice hurdle at the Festival here and after settling for fourth on his chasing bow at Galway, he occupied the same position in the hot beginners chase won by Facile Vega at Navan. That experience gives him an edge over fencing newcomers Arctic Bresil and Firm Footings, who could still close the gap at least. Captain Conby has claimed minor money in a couple of Graded races, though, and might be the bigger threat.

HGRANCA DE THAIX made a positive start over fences when third at Fairyhouse in October following a nine-month absence and, likely to improve with that run under his belt, he shades preference ahead of Pinkerton. The latter was placed in two quality maiden chases at the aforementioned course last month and looks a big threat, while Spillane's Tower has also show promise in this sphere and should have a part to play, too.

An interesting novice chase in which Monalee's half-brother FIRM FOOTINGS is taken to make a winning chase debut

(1) Ballymagroarty Boy 13/2, Sole win came in 2018 but he ran several good races in defeat last season and resumed with a pair of creditable in-frame efforts over C&D last month. Likely to give his running again.
Has very modest strike-rate but is consistent and was placed over C&D on heavy last month.

Balkardy

4/1(-33%)
(6) Balkardy 4/1, In excellent form over fences in summer 2022 and has found only one too good on all 3 starts back hurdling on return, left with too much to do and shaping well over C&D latest. Might be the answer.
Second twice over C&D last month (heavy/soft) and another good run seems very likely.

(3) Front View 17/2, Useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien in 2020/21. Has been given a chance by the handicapper but hasn't obviously been shaping as if ready to take advantage. Could only consider if backed.
Too well handicapped to rule out but needs to turn a corner.

(5) Minella Double 4/1, Successful on second of 2 starts in Irish points. Disappointing in bumper on Rules debut but proved a different proposition when making a winning start over hurdles at Hexham (2½m, heavy) in October. Well-held third at Aintree (2½m again) since but retains potential now handicapping at 3m.
Not obviously well handicapped on form of Hexham maiden win but open to improvement.

Won three in a row on good ground in spring 2022 but tailed off last month, after a layoff.
LTO Selection:

12:20 Ffos Las Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MINELLA DOUBLE appeals most as he takes a drop in class to make his handicap hurdle debut. A respectable third in a class 3 series qualifier at Aintree last month, that form looks solid given the winner of that race was in the process of running a big race until he unseated his rider in Grade 2 at Sandown last Friday and a bold bid is expected from Olly Murphy's gelding. Balkardy could capitalise if the step up in trip catches out the selection, while Jasmiwa completes the shortlist.

BALKARDY shaped well from too far back when runner-up over C&D last time and can deservedly get his head back in front after a trio of seconds. Minella Double strikes as a likely improver now stepping up to 3m for his handicap debut and is second choice ahead of Jasmiwa.

C&D winner JASMIWA made a satisfactory seasonal debut in October and ought to be better suited by today's slower ground.

Modest handicapper over hurdles, has struggled on his first two attempts over fences.
LTO Selection:

12:30 Punchestown Maiden Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Gordon Elliott can do little wrong at present and looks to have a solid contender in the shape of COOL SURVIVOR, whose respectable fourth-placed finish behind the high-class Gaelic Warrior over 2m3f here last month sets the standard over fences. Willie Mullins has a good line on the worth of the form with Embassy Gardens, whose current hurdles rating of 140 entitles him to the utmost respect on his chasing debut. Lets Go Champ is in the early stages of his development in this discipline and also commands respect.

Useful-hurdler COOL SURVIVOR is worth another chance to confirm the promise of his chase debut returning to a trip that will prove much more suitable. Embassy Gardens was of similar ability over timber so is an obvious threat going chasing on his return.

With the advantage of two runs over fences and race fitness COOL SURVIVOR is given slight preference over Embassy Gardens.

(1) Quel Destin 11/10, Well held on 2m Ascot reappearance but this is much less competitive and a bold show looks assured if reacting positively to a change of headgear (first-time blinkers replacing cheekpieces).

(3) Zhiguli 8/11, Returned to winning ways at Sandown in March. Respectable fourth in 3m Ascot handicap on reappearance but never got in any sort of rhythm when pulled up back there since. This much easier, though.
Likeable comeback at Ascot and the ground was too fast for him back there 18 days ago.
LTO Selection:

12:40 Fontwell Handicap Chase (Class 3) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

QUEL DESTIN may have been well beaten on his return at Ascot last month, but he remains a classy individual on his day, and it was only in March that he was runner-up in a premier handicap at Sandown off 2lb higher. The fact he is unbeaten over jumps on heavy ground is another plus, and he may have too much for Bennys King, who was revitalised in hunter chases last season. Zhiguli is not be to be dismissed either for the in-form Gary Moore team.

In a contest where all 3 runners need to shrug off below-par efforts last time, QUEL DESTIN is taken to leave his Ascot reappearance behind and prove too strong for Zhiguli.

None of these ran at all well last time out but ZHIGULI (nap) did have a valid excuse at Ascot where he found the ground too fast.

LTO Selection:

12:45 Wincanton Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 15f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LUMP SUM made quite the impression on his hurdles debut at Ffos Las last month and a 7lb penalty for that smooth success may not be enough to prevent him continuing his progression by completing a double. That may be at the main expense of Banteer, who went for a long way before fading late on when making his own hurdles bow at Hereford. The latter's stablemate, Onethreefivenotout, and Afta Party are also capable of being in the shake-up.

This looks an excellent opportunity for the promising LUMP SUM to follow up last month's Ffos Las hurdle debut success. Banteer can improve on his opening hurdle effort at Hereford and chase the selection home ahead of Mountain Pass in a race long on numbers but not depth.

This is much less competitive than the field size suggests and may well be a good opportunity for LUMP SUM to make it 2-2 over hurdles.

LTO Selection:

12:52 Ffos Las Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A comfortable winner over this course and distance last month, THE JUKEBOX MAN is hard to oppose in his bid to complete a hat-trick of straight wins, having breezed to victory in a bumper here on his penultimate start. As is the case with the selection, Three Cliffs Bay picks up a penalty for winning last time out and he too commands respect, with the longer trip expected to suit. Ghost Hunter is suggested as the pick of the rest.

This will probably develop into a match between last month's course winners THE JUKEBOX MAN and Three Cliffs Bay, with the former preferred.

Two of these won on the same day here one month ago. C&D winner THE JUKEBOX MAN is more persuasive than 2m winner Three Cliffs Bay.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

An easy point-to-point winner in November last year, Killaney King is very interesting on his hurdling debut, while Rainbow Trail also represents powerful connections and the expensive purchase impressed when landing a Clonmel bumper last month after a troubled passage. However, slight preference is for BLIZZARD OF OZ, who sets the form standard with his second in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in the spring and the Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old could have a very bright future over obstacles.

BLIZZARD OF OZ was the best of these in bumpers and is the choice of Paul Townend on hurdles debut. He gets the nod. Rainbow Trail and Beau Walking are feared most in what should prove an informative contest.

BLIZZARD OF OZ was smart in bumpers last season and should be suited by a stamina test now sent hurdling

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An impressive winner of a claiming hurdle at Dieppe for previous connections in July, RIVER GOLD could be a nice recruit to the Nicky Henderson stable. This looks like another winnable contest for the three-year-old, and Karaktere D'enfer appears to be his main danger after a promising third on his domestic debut at Doncaster last month. Ellerton and recent C&D second Queen Of Steel are also open to improvement.

Nicky Henderson French recruit RIVER GOLD is probably the one to beat, particularly if the betting vibes are strong. Fellow French import Karaktere d'Enfer can give him most to do ahead of Ellerton and Spiced Rum.

Nicky Henderson's French winner RIVER GOLD probably has a good bit of potential and this looks a nice starting point in Britain.

ALDSWORTH has improved since joining new connections and he must hold every chance if building upon a strong runner-up effort at Hereford last time out. Soft ground may not be ideal, but he should still have enough to hold off Sam's Amour and Cooleenymore, who has claims on his penultimate effort at Chepstow when runner-up over shorter.

ALDSWORTH has upped his game for new connections this term and gets the nod in an open-looking contest. Rajaran and Sam's Amour can also make their presence felt.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 210,000-euro purchase after landing an Irish point-to-point in April, FORTUNATE MAN is yet another appealing recruit to race in the colours of JP McManus. Given the limited amount of previous winning form presented by the opposition, this son of Soldier Of Fortune looks ideally placed to make a winning debut. Another big run from The Jukebox Man in the previous race would boost the form claims held by Golden De Coeur, who chased that rival home last time out, and he looks next best ahead of recent C&D second Steel Ally.

STEEL ALLY was unlucky not to make a winning start over hurdles at this C&D on return last month, in control when a very awkward landing at the last handed the initiative to the winner, and he's taken to make amends, though market support for expensive Irish-point winner Fortunate Man would look significant. Tour Ovalie and Tedtwo showed plenty in bumpers so are also worth a second look.

Probably unlucky not to win over C&D on last month's hurdling debut, STEEL ALLY is given the verdict over Golden De Coeur.

13:30 Punchestown Handicap Hurdle 19f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The Henry De Bromhead stable has had a fine start to the season and RING O ROSES looks just the type to improve for stepping up in trip after an encouraging second over shorter at Gowran Park last month. A 3lb rise for that effort seems manageable and she can get the better of recent course second American Money and Dancing Jeremy, who could hardly have been more impressive when winning from the front here in October. Lazer Wolf (second) had the eye-catching Morricone (fourth) behind when runner-up at this track last month, and both are likely to be thereabouts again.

A competitive handicap. LAZER WOLF made an encouraging start to his handicap career when second over 2m here last month and can build on that and go one better now. If Ring O Roses can brush up a little on her jumping she's likely to be a major threat under Rachael Blackmore. American Money and Dancing Jeremy are others for the shortlist.

This longer trip should suit LAZER WOLF who finished second over 2m here last month. Fourth-placed Morricone rates a serious threat

Proven course form could be crucial in a contest of this nature, and that bodes well for FLINTARA, who shaped with promise at Ffos Las last month. The ground should not inconvenience this daughter of Kayf Tara, and it may be that the in-form Presenting Nelly gives her the most to think about, despite attempting a significant rise in distance. It's Easy ran with credit at Lingfield last time and may improve for going up in trip.

PRESENTING NELLY did well over hurdles and is bred to make a staying chaser, so is taken to make a winning start in this sphere. It's Easy stepped up markedly on reappearance run/yard debut when third at Lingfield and rates the main threat if seeing out the longer trip.

This trip will feel a long way under these conditions but it shouldn't faze FLINTARA who has won over 3m2f on the hurdle track here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW, who could hardly have won any easier on just her third start at Exeter last month. The slight drop in trip should not inconvenience on this occasion and, despite incurring a 7lb winner's penalty, she is preferred to Queen Annie, who shaped with encouragement after wind surgery on her own hurdles bow at Exeter. Country Lady has the form to get involved in proceedings as well.

DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW has clearly been difficult to train but won in good style in similar conditions at Exeter last month and may be able to defy a penalty. Queen Annie and Country Lady look the obvious dangers.

The very lightly raced 8yo DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW won in fine style at Exeter recently and she is taken to follow up.

GIULIETTA (second) may have a neck to find with Annie Day (first) from their clash at Warwick last month, but Dan Skelton's charge had to make up ground from towards the rear on that occasion and, with a more positive ride on this occasion, she can overturn the form. A determined winner over shorter at Leicester last month, Passing Kate is entitled to be thereabouts as well.

The one who appeals most is GIULIETTA, who was just touched off by the re-opposing Annie Day at Warwick and, armed with plenty of scope for improvement, she is confidently expected to reverse the placings with Ben Case's mare this time. Passing Kate may well build on her Leicester breakthrough success and is feared most ahead of Harkangel.

Just outbattled by Annie Day at Warwick last month, GIULIETTA (nap) has the potential to improve past her old rival here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This has all the hallmarks of a good quality renewal, as the likes of the unbeaten A Penny A Hundred, progressive Banntown Girl and consistent Jetara all have plenty to offer. However, MEL MONROE, a commendable second in the Monksfield at Navan last time, has performed admirably in defeat in the face of two stern tests so far this season, and can make it third-time lucky with the trip and ground both looking ideal.

MAYOR'S WALK and A Penny A Hundred do not possess the same depth of form as some of these but they're both very promising fillies and look ready for this step up in class. The latter is 2-2 and isn't passed over lightly but Mayor's Walk is marginally preferred. Banntown Girl is just about the form pick and is third choice ahead of Jetara and Mel Monroe.

As a battle-hardened performer who has prospered this season BANNTOWN GIRL may have the resources to beat A Penny A Hundred

14:10 Fontwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HERAKLES WESTWOOD was a ready winner at Lingfield 12 days ago and, assuming the quick turnaround isn't an issue, he is fancied to cope with a 9lb hike in the ratings. Talimar Pearl looks the pick of the opposition based on a couple of improved efforts of late, while Inspector Lynley is dangerous to ignore from the bottom of the handicap with first-time cheekpieces applied.

The manner in which HERAKLES WESTWOOD forged clear in the closing stages at Lingfield recently suggests even a 9 lb rise may not stop him with the longer trip here promising to see him in an even better light. Talimar Pearl was runner-up twice in the spring and should go well if resuming in similar form. The likes of The Cox Express, Letmetellusomethin and Fortuitous Favour are potential improvers in handicappers and need monitoring in the betting.

Conditions are a concern for HERAKLES WESTWOOD but connections knew the score when declaring and he won nicely at Lingfield.

KING TURGEON has a good record over fences and, having now proven he handles a good test of stamina by winning on good to soft over 3m at Exeter 22 days ago, a 7lb higher mark might not be enough to prevent him from backing up that success now tackling an additional furlong. Take Your Time is another with a solid chance on these terms and, having previously won under Bryony Frost, he warrants plenty of respect now reunited with that rider. Nearly Perfect and Ede'iffs Elton complete the shortlist.

TAKE YOUR TIME jumped with aplomb when making a winning chase debut at Newton Abbot and, with the promise of better to come from him in this sphere and well treated based on his peak hurdles' form, he is taken to follow up. Raddon Top put in a good shift on his seasonal reappearance over hurdles at Exeter and will be a threat if able to back that up now returned to the larger obstacles. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

After a promising novice campaign over hurdles, including when third in the Prestige at Haydock in February, THE KING OF RYHOPE made a perfect start to his career over the larger obstacles when scoring at Chepstow. The seven-year-old should be up to overcoming a 7lb rise here and he is preferred to Jack In The Box, who is an intriguing recruit to the Bernard Llewellyn stable. Fine Casting and Knowsley Road cannot be ruled out either.

THE KING OF RYHOPE jumped well when making a winning chase bow/reappearance at Chepstow 6 weeks ago and can defy a 7 lb rise with that form proving to be rock solid. Fine Casting did well over hurdles last season and is on a workable mark if taking to chasing at the first attempt on return, so is feared most.

The most obvious answer is THE KING OF RYHOPE, who made a very good start to his chasing career at Chepstow.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The market may prove informative with regards to the chances of the Willie Mullins-trained duo, with Micro Manage and Elixir D'Ainay both returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The latter mixed it with the best novices around in early 2020 and could be a cut above these if picking up where he left off, but the vote goes to the match-fit TACTICAL AFFAIR. Gordon Elliott's four-year-old only just hung on to make a successful hurdling bow at Cork 16 days ago but has scope for plenty of improvement and represents an in-form yard.

There should be more to come from last month's Cork winner TACTICAL AFFAIR and he may be able to follow up. The Willie Mullins pair, Elixir D'Ainay and Micro Manage are both returning from long absences but are feared most nonetheless.

Given the relatively short duration of his absence, MICRO MANAGE may beat stablemate Elixir D'Ainay, not seen since March 2020

14:40 Fontwell Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The two recent winners, Kay Tara Tara and EASY TO FOLLOW look the pair to focus on, with the latter edging preference as the one with the slightly more proven stamina, given his background in point-to-points. Both carry 7lb penalties, which creates some hope for any supporters of Bethka, who may find some improvement now that a tongue strap is applied.

Preference is for BETHKA, who shaped better than the bare result at Market Rasen last month and remains open to improvement. Stuti and Easy To Follow rate the principal dangers.

Uttoxeter winner EASY TO FOLLOW may be able to defy her penalty on ground she may handle better than some of her rivals.

HIM MALAYA responded well for Olive Nicholls when they landed a conditional riders' race here last month and, now able to utilise the jockey's 7lb claim, another big run can be expected off a 5lb higher mark. Fellow last-time-out winner Great Ocean has a similar profile and is respected with Joe Anderson retaining the ride after they successfully teamed up at Hereford 13 days ago off a 6lb lower rating. Sizing Pottsie and the unexposed Aurigny Mill complete the shortlist.

HIM MALAYA won a shade cosily here last month and is fancied to follow up. Great Ocean and No No Tonic should also go well.

The Paul Nicholls-trained 4yo HIM MALAYA (nap) did it nicely over C&D three weeks ago and is taken to defy a 5lb rise.

14:52 Ffos Las Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES was all out to defeat a higher-rated rival at Uttoxeter last month but, given he was only nudged up 1lb for that narrow success, he has a live chance of following up here. The consistent John Betjeman rates as the biggest threat to the selection, with William Maggs' 7lb claim a handy asset, while the prolific Uno Mas and lightly-weighted Port Or Starboard are a couple of others to consider.

There should be more to come from the unexposed GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES, who appeared to have a bit left up his sleeve when scoring at Uttoxeter last month. He gets the nod ahead of John Betjeman, who clearly likes it round here (form figures at Ffos Las read 1312212) and a reproduction of his latest effort at Kempton would put him firmly in the picture. Out of Focus is respected now handicapping, while Port Or Starboard also enters calculations.

Nudged up only 1lb for his recent Uttoxeter success, GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES could still have quite a bit more to offer.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

It is difficult to look past DUFFYS GETAWAY, who was an impressive winner on his return over slightly further at Fairyhouse last month. The six-year-old has similar conditions again, and he can overcome a 9lb rise, while upholding form with the progressive Kiln Time (second), who has won at Wexford and been second at Tramore since. Merry Moves bounced back to form with a solid placed effort at Fairyhouse last month and she also needs considering. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Lizlucky, Mahler Appeal and No Fussing.

DUFFYS GETAWAY justified market confidence back form a break when beating Kiln Time (winner since) at Fairyhouse 5 weeks ago and remains of interest. Kiln Time has continued to improve since so may emerge as the main threat again, while Spice Diva was still very much in the mix when exiting the race through no fault of her own on handicap bow at Down Royal last month.

Much improved over this trip at Fairyhouse last month, DUFFYS GETAWAY (nap) can defy a 9lb rise and confirm form with Kiln Time

The Gary Moore stable has clicked into gear of late and this looks like an ideal opportunity for AVILES to finally get off the mark, having been denied by the narrowest of margins on his chase debut over C&D last month. Grizzly James returns from a 241-day break, having looked as though he may win at Chepstow in April before falling two out, while Good Friday Fairy open to improvement after a promising chasing bow at Ffos Las.

AVILES was likely to have made a winning chase/handicap bow but for a drastic late error over this C&D on return last month and is fancied to make amends at the main expense of Grizzly James, who was also looking the likely winner when falling 2 out at Chepstow when last seen in the spring.

A few with chances but AVILES is just plain unfortunate to still be a maiden and this could be his lucky day.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Wincanton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SHERBORNE has held his form well and, given he has scope to develop further as a chaser, looks worth chancing in a wide-open handicap, especially with regular partner Brendan Powell back in the saddle. King Of Brazil is one to monitor closely in the betting sporting a first-time tongue-tie, while Kingofthewest (fourth) is noteworthy given the form of his chasing debut was subsequently boosted by the third home winning at Ludlow earlier this month. Chasing debutant Chankaya ris also considered, having gone close over hurdles here last time.

The vote goes to KINGOFTHEWEST, who should be all the better for his chase debut fourth at Taunton following a seven-month absence and this step back up in trip is a potentially good move. Sherborne probably would've finished closer but for a stumble at the third-last at Kempton last time and he is next on the list ahead of Moytier.

A case can be made for a few but HOT ROD LINCOLN remains with potential and it may be worth overlooking his low-key chase debut.

LTO Selection:

15:22 Ffos Las Handicap Chase (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

James Jet showed the benefit of wind surgery when getting up late to score at Uttoxeter 24 days ago and looks a big player here. However, a 9lb rise for a head success looks a little harsh and he is taken on with the potentially more progressive BOSTON JOE, who didn't jump too fluently on his last two starts but still managed a win and a resectable second-placed finish. Frankie Faulkner looks the more appealing of Evan Williams' two entrants on these terms and he could pick up the bronze medal.

BOSTON JOE is clearly an improved model this season and remains of interest having pulled clear with the winner here 3 weeks ago. Winning pointer James Jet was progressive over hurdles so is a likely threat on chase bow, while Gazette Bourgeoise and Margaret's Legacy are both becoming well handicapped.

Rebeeca Curtis's BOSTON JOE followed his emphatic Wincanton win with a big run in defeat here three weeks ago and might be the answer.

15:30 Punchestown NH Flat Race 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KISH BANK's dam was a useful hurdler and this four-year-old could be pretty decent himself judged on his facile success between the flags last month. Gordon Elliott's charge is likely to be a warm order on his debut under Rules and looks the one to beat, although Ufouria may be no pushover. She ran up to the highly-promising Only By Night on her debut at Limerick in October and Paul Nolan's mare gets a handy 7lb from the selection. Slieve Carran had Seatoit (fourth) and A Tipp For Gold (ninth) in arrears when second at Thurles last month and could prove best of the remainder.

KISH BANK makes a quick switch to a bumper on the back of his ready point win last month and will likely take plenty of stopping for the Gordon Elliott team. Paul Nolan's Limerick runner-up Ufouria can fill the forecast spot ahead of Royal Cave.

Not a strong bumper for the venue and point-to-point winner KISH BANK could be well up to making a winning start under Rules

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Turned out again quickly after a strong runner-up effort at Sandown last Friday, HE'S A LATCHICO should appreciate going up in trip, as well as a return to his favourite track where he is unbeaten. Another course winner What's My Line must also enter calculations after a determined success at Lingfield on his seasonal debut. Thirtyfour Thirty is another to note making his handicap debut off what could be a lenient mark.

The case for HE'S A LATCHICO is a pretty compelling one, given that he's 2-2 over C&D and found just one too good off this mark in a stronger race at Sandown on Saturday. What's My Line also has winning form here and looks the main danger on the back of his recent Lingfield success. Smart Casual is probably capable of better than he has shown thus far and is most interesting of the remainder.

This looks a weak race and easier than the one in which HE'S A LATCHICO looked all over the winner for a long way at Sandown on Friday.

15:45 Wincanton NH Flat Race (Class 5) 15f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Placed on each of his first two starts over shorter, the step up in trip can work the oracle for HILL SPIRIT as he looks to get off the mark. A 7lb penalty for a taking success on debut at Ludlow will make life tougher for Lightning Flash, while Dodger Long is of interest as well on his first run for new connections. Crest Of Fortune looks to be the pick of the newcomers for a stable that know how to ready one.

HILL SPIRIT has shown fair form when placed in similar company in recent months and is taken to make the most of the weight he receives from previous-winner Lightning Flash. Anthony Honeyball, who has a healthy strike-rate in bumpers, runs 4 newcomers and a market move for one or more would also bring them into the reckoning.

With 7lb claimed and therefore negating his penalty, the ready Ludlow winner LIGHTNING FLASH looks capable of a repeat.

17:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Likeashadow and Storm Alice have both proven they have the wherewithal to win a race and each commands respect in this wide-open nursery, especially the former who went close off this mark in a higher grade last time. However, MOREGINPLEASE arguably boasts slightly stronger form and, given she is unexposed on the all-weather, this could be a good time to catch the John Ryan-trained filly.

BRADMAN is still low mileage and hasn't been seen to best effect in either of his nursery starts. He can open his account. Likeashadow and Moreginplease head the list of dangers.

The suggestion is nursery debutante KEEP MY SECRET, who moves up in trip after three encouraging qualifying runs.

LTO Selection:

17:30 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Several of these are noteworthy for future reference, not least FIRST ALLIANCE, a 500,000gns yearling whose pedigree makes for good reading, given he is introduced at such a modest level. A son of Dubawi, he runs for a yard with a highly impressive strike-rate with its two-year-olds and this colt, an Irish 2000 Guineas entrant, rates a most intriguing newcomer. Prom Queen and Alhather are other expensive newcomers to note, while Sir Les Patterson makes most appeal from those with experience.

SIR LES PATTERSON showed plenty to work on when third at Kempton and can put that experience to good use up against some interesting newcomers, notably First Alliance and Alhather.

A difficult race to approach without the benefit of market vibes, as the newcomers are interesting. SIR LES PATTERSON ran a nice debut.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NIGHT RAIDER, a half-brother to Group 3 winning sprinter Far Above, makes plenty of appeal on paper. A draw in stall two is a handy advantage and this son of Dark Angel is a most interesting debutant for Karl Burke. Danielle, a close relative of Courage Mon Ami, who was a first-time-out winner for the same stable last year, heads the list of dangers, while Midnight's Dream is another newcomer to consider.

Tricky, with those with previous experience needing improvement from out of the blue and 3 very interesting newcomers in opposition. MIDNIGHT'S DREAM makes obvious appeal on paper, closely followed by Night Raider and Danielle, so the market might guide.

With the Gosden runners in good form and her eyecatching pedigree, it would be no surprise to see DANIELLE make a winning debut.

18:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Chelsea Banham has worked wonders with Bankrupt and a fifth straight success cannot be ruled out given his resurgent recent form. However, he is 5lb higher and it could be a good time to switch allegiance to SECRET ROAD, who is unexposed on the all-weather. Having made all to win at Newcastle last time, he is ideally berthed in stall three to launch a bold attempt at following up off 4lb higher. Newcastle second Thaki also enters the reckoning, along with Kats Bob.

BANKRUPT remains one to keep on the right side of given the manner he completed the 4-timer at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago. Kats Bob and Phoenix Beach head the dangers.

Having landed some nice bets at Newcastle before being caught out by racing on a wing there last time, SNASH is the call.

19:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ROARIN' SUCCESS is still of low mileage and, having gone some way to proving that a below par performance at Goodwood on her penultimate start was a blip when a good third at Kempton last month, she is an attractive proposition off the same mark here. Wild Side (sixth) was just over a length behind the selection that day and could feasibly get closer tonight, while Lingfield winner Achillea and Hey Lyla also enter calculations.

ROARIN' SUCCESS ran a cracker on her return from a break at Kempton last month and will appreciate the step back up in trip here. She can resume winning ways. Enola Grey and Achillea can also make their presence felt.

Preference is for ENOLA GREY whose latest Wolverhampton second was franked by the winner there on Sunday. The yard won this last year.

19:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 3) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The in-form BERGERAC (second) won with something in hand over this trip at Newcastle 25 days ago and a 5lb higher mark may not be enough to prevent the Kevin Ryan-trained gelding from following up. Fellow joint-top weight Lord Riddiford (third), an old rival of the selection, is dangerous to ignore, given he has won off a higher mark in the past and doesn't have much to find with the selection based on their encounter (also at Newcastle) in early November. Strong Johnson and Castan are others in with a chance.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap, with BERGERAC topping the list. He travelled fluently when making all for a cosy success at Newcastle last month and he remains on a good mark following a 5 lb rise. Khabib got his head back in front over C&D recently and he has to be respected, while fellow last-time-out winner Blind Beggar and Lord Riddiford are others to consider.

Perhaps BLIND BEGGAR can make it 5-12 for Mick Appleby and 2-2 here. He recorded a personal best last time.

20:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SAVVY BRILLIANCE recorded a taking success from a subsequent winner at Wolverhampton last time and there could be more to come from the son of Cracksman now up in distance. Runner-up on each of his last four starts, including around here, Doublethetrouble is entitled to be thereabouts again, as well as Kiss My Face, who has an excellent record at this venue.

Though she's an 11-race maiden, NATACATA has posted several creditable efforts in defeat and a line can be drawn through her effort on debut for this yard at Chelmsford where she encountered traffic problems at a crucial stage. Jane Chapple-Hyam's representative is taken to open her account here. Savvy Brilliance and handicap-debutant Barrel Aged rate the main dangers, though Rubeus is also of strong interest on the back of his recent near miss at Wolverhampton.

The vote goes to RUBEUS who has the same mark as when beaten a neck by a subsequent winner on stable debut at Wolverhampton last time.

20:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BOHEMIAN BREEZE has been in terrific form of late and a fourth win in seven starts could be in the offing for the son of Galileo as he looks to follow up on a relatively straightforward success at Wolverhampton last month. The booking of Oisin Murphy is another plus as he looks to get the better of the capable Percy Willis, and the unexposed Le Rouge Chinois.

Preference is for EVENING STORY, who is still feasibly treated and can be forgiven her latest run over a shorter trip at Newcastle. Le Rouge Chinois and Bohemian Breeze should also go well.

With a handy draw to help him race prominently again, the improving BOHEMIAN BREEZE (nap) is taken to pick up a fourth career win.
