With only one rival to beat, this appeals as an ideal opportunity for CLASSIC MAESTRO to get off the mark over fences. A promising runner-up on his debut at Lingfield in February, Jennie Candlish's charge has since won three times over hurdles and sets a lofty standard. Not in action since a novice hurdle at Carlisle in March 2022, Barrowdale is likely to improve plenty for the run.

With his sole rival not having been seen for 3 years it's impossible to oppose CLASSIC MAESTRO.

Thriving hurdler CLASSIC MAESTRO showed promise in February on his sole chase start and earns the vote now back over fences.

BIG GINGE bumped into a potentially useful type on his hurdles debut at Sandown last month and with improvement likely, the son of Mount Nelson is taken to go one place better. Carlisle scorer No Questions Asked wasn't able to carry a penalty to victory at Doncaster three weeks ago but he remains of interest, while others to note include King Ulanda and Strong Foundations.

BIG GINGE shaped well on his Sandown hurdle debut and can make the most of the weight he receives from previous hurdle winners Strong Foundations and No Questions Asked.

His tendency to race too freely is an ongoing concern but Carlisle winner NO QUESTIONS ASKED can add to his tally here.

BRANDT has been running well in Ireland this summer and although a lazy type, is ideally suited by this stamina test. He failed to capitalise on a lower hurdles rating at Down Royal last month but did, eventually, finish that race quite well, suggesting this extra distance will suit. Previously he was an unlucky loser of a Sligo chase and is helped by good ground. Malinas Glory has been raised 6lb for a recent course win but again has underfoot conditions and a staying distance in his favour. Walk In Time ran well on chase debut over course-and-distance last month, with that race's winner scoring again subsequently. She debuts in a handicap chase and stays well.

MALINAS GLORY opened his chase account in pretty decisive fashion here last time and a 6 lb rise is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from following up. He may have most to fear from Walk In Time, who wasn't disgraced on debut in this sphere and she's on a fair mark. Brandt is also worth a second look.

The selection is MALINAS GLORY after a decisive win over 2m6f here last month. A 6lb rise may not be enough to stop him
Class & Speed Card

MEDIEVAL GOLD may not have been in action since scoring at Perth in May, but he did so in comfortable fashion on that occasion and a mark of 108 on his handicap debut looks workable. A capable sort on his day, Speed Davis has undergone wind surgery since disappointing at Uttoxeter in June, while Honneur D'Ajonc has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate run at Fontwell.

HONNEUR D'AJONC had an off day last time but prior to that recorded a career best to score at Fontwell and is taken to bounce back for a yard which continues to knock in the winners. The unexposed newcomer Medieval Gold is feared most ahead of fellow handicap hurdle newcomer Speed Davis.

He has an absence to overcome but MEDIEVAL GOLD's maiden win now reads quite well. Speed Davis is the second choice.
Class & Speed Card

Not the deepest of contests and preference is for GOODWIN FACE. A narrow second in a Plumpton novice hurdle in October, Chris Gordon's charge does not look overburdened by an opening mark of 96 and he may step forward now pitched into handicaps. Penna Rossa posted a much improved performance at Wincanton last month and ought to go close if building on that. Greenways heads the remainder.

A very competitive handicap hurdle. It might be worth chancing that SCHERBOBALOB can recapture his best form. He likely needed his comeback run following a wind operation, and that should put him spot on for this. Penna Rossa arrives here off the back of two encouraging efforts, although he does find it tough to win, while better is expected of Gwennie May Star now tackling a handicap for the first time. Course winner Greenways and the lightly-raced Goodwin Face are others worth noting.

Handicap debutant JIM DE SARTI is of strong interest if judged on the promise he showed at Newbury last season and gets the vote.

Golden Ambition justified favouritism in good style when recording a double at Lingfield on his latest outing and he should give a good account off a 6lb higher rating. However, CIRCUIT BREAKER gets the nod. The son of Nathaniel was impressive when victorious on his first start over hurdles at Kempton before being beaten into third in a warmer event next time. Judged on each of those efforts, he could be capable of defying an opening mark of 118. Just Lucky Sivola completes the shortlist.

This could be competitive for the numbers and JUST LUCKY SIVOLA gets the marginal vote after opening his account at Hereford last time. Golden Ambition is improving in blinkers and poses a major threat, while Gotthereintheend is of interest making his first start for an in-form stable.

Just Lucky Sivola and Golden Ambition have glaring claims but watch out also for GOTTHEREINTHEEND.

A chance is taken that PRINCE ZALTAR, who is wearing first-time cheekpieces, will be ready following a year off, as he is well handicapped in this sphere. This three-time winner was runner-up in an Aintree hurdle off a mark of 121 last December, he has competed in just two chases but finished a good second on his latest effort and is well suited by conditions. His trainer also runs That's About Right, who won here last month when taking advantage of front-running favourite Boldog bursting a blood vessel. Nonetheless, That's About Right showed ability and had previously done well over hurdles. Prairie Dancer has conditions in his favour but has top weight, while Prince Of Air won a lesser race here last month.

Claims can be made for plenty, with the narrow vote in favour of SEQUESTERED. He displayed definite encouragement on 2 of his 3 runs in maiden contests since switching to this sphere and there could yet be more to come now handicapping. Battle of Ridgeway and Prince Zaltar are a couple of others fancied to make their mark.

Preference is for the recent winner PRINCE OF AIR who won here last month on yard debut and there could still be more to come
Class & Speed Card

HOLLOWAY QUEEN seemed to be value for more than the winning margin when hanging left late in the piece at Lingfield on her hurdles bow. The daughter of Jukebox Jury is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming, and she is narrowly preferred to Kelya Wood, who could not have won any easier at Uttoxeter last month. A winner of three of her last five starts in this sphere, Fromheretoeternity cannot be ruled out either.

Having fetched £180,000 despite not winning her point, HOLLOWAY QUEEN created a vey favourable impression when successful at Lingfield 3 weeks ago. Sure to build on that, she can go in again, for all Fromheretoeternity can call upon plenty of experience under Rules.

Kelya Wood looks promising but HOLLOWAY QUEEN beat a useful bumper performer on her hurdle debut at Lingfield and gets the nod.

FACE D'MUSIC got up in the shadow of the post over C&D last time out, finishing well clear of the third, and he is taken to go in again despite a 4lb rise in the handicap. Muskoka showed promise on his chasing debut recently and any improvement should bring him into the picture, while Just Loose Change, who was no match for an all-the-way winner at Catterick last month, is also noted.

FACE D'MUSIC boasts a fine record at this track and having jumped much better than previously this season when winning over C&D last month, Katy Price's 5-y-o gets the nod to follow up. Not Sure won on reappearance at Wetherby last year, so he heads up the dangers, with Just Loose Change taken to edge out Muskoka for the third spot.

The well-related MUSKOKA can improve for this longer trip and get off the mark. Face d'Music floored one in form last time.
Class & Speed Card

SCARFACE had Galop De Chasse (third) a length behind when filling the runner-up spot in this grade at Newbury last month, and he should be able to confirm his authority over that rival as they compete on the same terms. Joe Tizzard's seven-year-old is a previous course winner and it would be no surprise to see him go one better. Prince Quali finished third at Newbury last time and may go well, while Kotmask isn't out of it either.

SCARFACE ran his best race since the spring from his reduced mark when runner-up at Newbury 22 days ago and a repeat gives him good claims for the stable that landed this prize 12 months ago. Kotmask and Galop de Chasse are feared most in what is a competitive affair.

After two solid runs here last month, KOTMASK (nap) can improve again now back up in distance on slower ground. Scarface is feared.
Class & Speed Card

MAGIC DAY ran reasonably well last month and contests a winnable race. A sister to the Cheltenham Festival-placed Magic Daze and a runner-up on her point-to-point debut, that recent Navan form is largely unexciting but she nonetheless finished ahead of plenty rivals and today's ground conditions suit. Debut points winner Tumuch disappointed in a bumper last March before returning with a useful third-placed effort in November. However, he again disappointed when fading tamely, albeit in a smart race, at Punchestown just 11 days ago, so has something to prove. The consistent, 106-rated Bayrann ran well in both a useful course maiden in November and at Punchestown more recently, but is held by Tumuch on November form.

MAGIC DAY'S debut fourth in a big-field novice at Navan a month go was a positive start and with this race lacking strength in depth, she's the one to beat. Tumuch is a danger if bouncing back from a lesser effort last time, while Bayrann can remain competitive.

They will all have to go some to beat MAGIC DAY who created a very nice impression on her Navan debut and might not need to improve

INTIMATE made a promising start to his chasing career when finishing runner-up behind a useful type on his seasonal reappearance at Sandown recently and, nudged up 1lb, he gets the vote to land the spoils with that run under his belt. The largely consistent Netywell finished just over eight lengths behind a subsequent winner when third over this track and trip last month, and he must enter calculations eased 1lb. Sunnyvilla is also respected.

INTIMATE made a promising start over fences when finding only Mount Tempest too good at Sandown and, with the likelihood of better to come from this 6-y-o, he looks the way to go. Next on the list is Cerendipity, who is bidding to win second time out for the third consecutive season, while last year's winner Netywell and Xcitations also warrant consideration.

The lightly raced 6yo INTIMATE was a promising second on his chase debut at Sandown a fortnight ago and can go one better.
Class & Speed Card

This can go the way of the unexposed MOONLIT POTTER, who could not have done much more when a nose second on her chasing debut at Huntingdon last month. Henry Daly's charge can gain compensation on the slight step up in trip, with the hat-trick-seeking Lady Balko looking best placed to chase her home. Not outside the first two in her last three starts, Sacre Coeur is entitled to be thereabouts, as well as Jessie Lightfoot and Regatta De Blanc.

Several appeaing types to choose from with REGATTA DE BLANC marginally preferred to Harrys Hope, Lady Balko and Moonlit Potter. The selection bumped into a progressive one at Ascot on her first run in open company over fences and there should be more to come from this lightly-raced 6-y-o. My Silver Lining needs to get back on track but she will be a danger to all if able to do so.

Former pointer REGATTA DE BLANC (nap) was a good second at Ascot on her second start for Paul Nicholls and still has potential.

JAMES DU BERLAIS has competed in hot handicaps on each of his last five starts, including when second in the Topham in April. If he can bring that level of form to the table, then the eight-year-old ought to go close. Iroko was not disgraced in the Turners at the Cheltenham Festival in March and merits respect after filling second at Haydock on his seasonal return last time. Fil Dor can beat Jungle Boogie home for third.

A tightly knit and high-quality minor race in which a case of sorts can be made for each of the quartet. Preference though, is for IROKO, who could hardly have shaped better when second on Haydock reappearance and he could end up in the very top company this season. Jungle Boogie is perhaps the pick of the Irish opposition.

A tight race in which cases can be made for all four. JAMES DU BERLAIS might be ideally suited by this intermediate trip.
Class & Speed Card

ROYAL HOLLOW has been running well in Graded races recently and might turn around Down Royal November placings with Sansrisk and win. Thoroughly consistent, the selection is ideally suited by good ground and while closely matched with Sansrisk on two previous meetings, is 7lb better off today than when beaten over three lengths by that rival last month. Sansrisk was well held at Newbury most recently but is herself generally consistent. The well-bred Dream On Baby caused an upset when scooting clear to score over course-and-distance last month and while she faces battle-hardened rivals, is open to vast improvement being a four-year-old. Cottesloe Sunshine has good recent form and should be competitive, while C&D winner Beauforts Storm steps up in grade.

COTTESLOE SUNSHINE holds the edge on the form of her good Punchestown third last time so looks the way to go. Femme Magnifique didn't enjoy the rub of the green when pulled up in that contest and could emerge as the main danger with Dream On Baby, Amanha and Royal Hollow all worthy of consideration too.

It may be worth taking a chance on AMANHA who may have finished closer with some better jumping last time out and she's unexposed
Class & Speed Card

East Street has notched up three wins from four starts for this stable and he is of interest back at the scene of his latest victory, however a career-high mark does pose a question of James Owen's eight-year-old. With that in mind, a chance is taken on FRENCHY DU LARGE. Venetia Williams' charge was the subject of market support when only finding one rival too good on his return from an absence at Ludlow earlier this month. That effort should have teed him up nicely for a tilt at this and, off 3lb higher, he looks the one to be with. Jacks Parrot and Famous Bridge are a couple of others to consider.

EAST STREET hasn't looked back since the visor went on, winning twice over fences prior to completing the hat-trick over hurdles here 17 days ago. He could well be up to going in again returned to larger obstacles with his rider able to take off his very handy 7 lb claim. Last year's winner Famous Bridge resumed with a good second behind a course specialist at Kelso and he's feared. Credo and Regal Blue are others capable of playing their part.

Last year's winner FAMOUS BRIDGE (nap) is just 2lb higher this time and earns the vote on the back of his promising second at Kelso.
Class & Speed Card

NEMEAN LION finished second in this grade at Sandown earlier in the month and can take full advantage of his 2lb lower mark in this company. Below The Radar wasn't able to justify favouritism on his seasonal return at Uttoxeter last month but the son of Getaway could take a step forward here, while Lemoncello heads the remainder after his Doncaster fourth.

This is a good opportunity for NEMEAN LION to regain the winning thread on his way to bigger targets later in the season. Below The Radar showed plenty of ability in novice hurdles and shaped with more promise than the bare result on comeback, so he is considered the main danger in receipt of two stone from Nemean Lion.

Preference is for the class act in the line-up, NEMEAN LION, who has been dropped 2lb since his very respectable second at Sandown.
Class & Speed Card

STRONG LEADER followed up his Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle success with a cosy win in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury last month and could again be hard to beat. However, The Wallpark is progressive and looks a serious player as he bids to round out a five-timer. Last year's winner Crambo is unbeaten at this venue and cannot be ruled out, while the Haydock scorer Shoot First is still developing as a stayer and is another to note.

STRONG LEADER hasn't looked back since sent over staying trips and with his yard well among the winners too he rates a confident choice to bag a second Grade 1 here. Irish-raiders Hiddenvalley Lake and The Wallpark both arrive on the up and can ensure Olly Murphy's high-class 7-y-o doesn't have things all his own way though, with last year's victor Crambo also in the picture.

He was good at shorter, but STRONG LEADER has proved a revelation since upped to 3m and he's the best of the British in this division.
Class & Speed Card

IF YOU LET ME has obvious claims in a big-field handicap, having run well in a similar race at Punchestown last month. A point-to-point winner, he has also shown useful ability on the Flat, over hurdles and over fences, and being suited by good ground, he should again compete from his rating. Galway regular Wee Charlie was touched off on his most recent run in October and while raised 3lb since, today's rider claims 5lb and he can also get competitive. Four-year-old Jeaniemacaroney is another with solid recent form, while Unklipped steps up in grade having won here last month. Top-weight Little Mixup has lost confidence recently but is a previous C&D winner.

JEANIEMACARONEY is taken to gain compensation for last month's Limerick near miss. Last month's easy C&D scorer Unklipped heads the many dangers along with Wee Charlie and If You Let Me.

It might pay to side with UNKLIPPED, who was progressing before bolting up over C&D last time and may have more to offer
Class & Speed Card

MILLDAM showed progressive form last term winning three times over timber. The six-year-old ran well for a long way on his reappearance at Huntingdon before fading in the closing stages, and gets another chance with Jamie Snowden's yard in good form. The headstrong Admiralty House has gone close on a couple of occasions and has the ability to win in this grade if learning to settle better, while Carlisle runner-up Coventry can feature again.

The unbeaten LUNE DE LA MER rates a likely improver now stepping into handicap company so is taken to make light of a lengthy absence with his yard going well. Jilaijone may have to settle for runner-up spot once more, while Coventry and Bertie's Ballet could also have a say.

This could go to MILLDAM, who was prolific on testing ground last season and could build on his recent reappearance run at Huntingdon.
Class & Speed Card

FAMOSO successfully completed a hat-trick in convincing style at Ludlow three days ago and is quickly turned out under a 7lb penalty. Matt Sheppard's eight-year-old is improving at a rapid rate of knots and doesn't look one to take on just yet. Abaya Du Mathan produced a bit of shock at Southwell last time, but there was no fluke about the manner of that victory so he could get involved. Of the remainder, the in-form Paddy In The Caddy makes the most appeal.

This looks a warm race but PADDY IN THE CADDY was by no means all out when fending off a next-time-out winner over C&D 24 days ago and he rates a big player again in his hat-trick bid. Fellow C&D winner Famoso is thriving himself and is feared turned out quickly under a penalty for his Ludlow victory 3 days ago. Chase-debutant Salt Rock and Dromlac Jury are others to consider.

Unexposed 6yo SALT ROCK makes his handicap/chase debut after some promising hurdle runs and might be the answer.
Class & Speed Card

VICTTORINO was a game winner of this race 12 months ago and must have every chance of retaining his crown from just 1lb higher. A creditable third off this mark in the Coral Gold Cup three weeks ago, the Venetia Williams-trained gelding gets the vote. Trelawne got his season off to a flyer at Haydock last month and, unexposed over this trip, he looks the chief threat. Rehearsal Chase runner-up The Changing Man and the consistent French-raider Heloy Delabarriere are other strong contenders.

VICTTORINO was a back-to-back winner over C&D this time last season (latterly this race) and, likely to be sharper with his reappearance behind him, Venetia Williams is fancied to continue her purple patch and snag another significant pot. Heading up the dangers is The Changing Man, who was unlucky to bump into one in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, with recent Haydock winner Trelawne and French-raider Heloy Delabarriere taken to fight out third.

Slight preference, ahead of Victtorino, is for the untapped potential over this sort of trip brought by TRELAWNE.
Class & Speed Card

DRUMGILL tackled fences with gusto when scoring over a similar trip here last month and has a low weight reverting to hurdles. In a very busy year which began in March, he rattled off a summer hat-trick and while his form later dipped, he defeated a 140-rated hurdler on his chase debut recently with the step-up in distance appearing to suit. Millforce is consistent and stays well but has plenty weight, while Brave Fortune has some reasonable form and steps up in distance. Sequoiaspirit won a recent handicap and should again beo competitive, while Grooveykindoflove received weight from the runner-up when readily scoring over C&D last month and faces a stiffer task here. Triple bumper winner Takt De Touques won recently at Sedgefield.

This could go the way of SEQUOIASPIRIT who arrives on the back of a career-best victory in a big-field Navan handicap. Recent course chase victor Drumgill appeals as the one to chase him home back in this sphere, with Takt de Touques and Heroes Rise best equipped to fight it out for minor honours.

DRUMGILL(nap) took the scalp of a nice prospect over fences here recently and looks a big player back over timber

DAARIS was on target over 1m6f at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start before going agonisingly close over the extended 2m there a week ago. He faces a few out-of-form rivals here and from just 1lb higher, he can regain the winning sequence. Socialist Agenda, who won twice on the Flat earlier this year before finishing down the field over hurdles at Worcester in June, is of interest on his return. Sophar Sogood heads the remainder.

DAARIS had been running very well in slighter better handicaps than this at Wolverhampton in recent weeks so he looks the answer. Socialist Agenda may well get back on the up following an absence returned to the AW, with Annandale also of interest.

If DAARIS can reproduce his recent Wolverhampton form he may be good for a second win of the month.

Spike Jones made a winning reappearance at Lingfield in first-time cheekpieces. Raised only 2lb, another bold showing looks likely, but MAGICAL KING is preferred in this grade. Stuart Edmunds' charge finished a respectable third in a competitive handicap at Aintree on his first outing since March, and this looks a decent opportunity to regain the winning thread. Supremely West shaped well at Hexham on his comeback and could also have a say.

SUPREMELY WEST was well clear with Gwennie May Boy (subsequently won big handicap at Aintree) on his final outing last season and shaped as if he'd returned in top form when third at Hexham 70 days ago, so he looks the one to beat for all that several others arrive in good order. Half Track and Magical King are both obvious dangers.

With his second of 17 at Uttoxeter in March being an appealing piece of form, SUPREMELY WEST earns the vote ahead of Magical King.

SECRET SNIPER showed ability when making the frame on his debut at Exeter in October and he could take a big step forward from that effort. The son of Stimulation may be able to put that experience to good use in order to get off the mark. Through The Storm is related to plenty of winners on the Flat and the booking of Brian Hayes catches the eye. Any market support behind newcomer The Egyptian Ginge would be interesting.

SECRET SNIPER is bred to do well in this sphere and offered plenty of promise when third at Exeter on debut a couple of months ago, so he's fancied to open his account for all that improvement is expected from Risky Spin, who was well supported first time out. There are several interesting newcomers in opposition, Urban Isle, a stablemate of the selection, being arguably the most notable.

Who knows what lurks amongst the newcomers but SECRET SNIPER has the benefit of experience after finishing third at Exeter.

DYSART ENOS has been reliable as well as profitable to follow under Rules. Although she found a couple too good in a strong renewal of the Greatwood at Cheltenham last month, her third-placed finish that day was still a solid foundation to build on here. Be Aware was one place in front of the selection in that race and although respected, might struggle to uphold the form off 3lb worse terms. The unbeaten Kabral Du Mathan and Secret Squirrel complete the shortlist.

A really strong renewal, featuring a few progressive sorts. While this is a different test to the one KABRAL DU MATHAN faced in a small field on his Kempton handicap debut he won with plenty in hand and could easily still be well ahead of his mark. Dysart Enos is taken to turn around Greatwood form with Be Aware and give the selection most to so. Reappearing Scottish Champion winner Favour And Fortune completes the shortlist.

The Greatwood second BE AWARE and third Dysart Enos can come to the fore again. Kabral Du Mathan and Impero are shortlisted.

BLUE VELVET showed ability in a point-to-point and has since joined leading connections. By Constitution Hill's sire Blue Bresil and a half-sister to seven-time winner Stoner's Choice, she was running a big race on points debut when unseating rider at the final fence at Borris House in April and was subsequently sold to new owners for 170,000 euro. Newcomer Arctic Flame is a sister to the Champion Hurdle-placed Arctic Fire and it is also encouraging that she contests a bumper on debut, with Finny Maguire being a positive booking. Music Of Life has shown useful ability, while Derryville has form but was well held by the winner on both her bumper starts. Points winner Menas Miracle wears a tongue-tie on bumper debut.

BLUE VELVET was picked up for six figures after shaping best (unseated late) in a point and, having joined a top yard, she's likely to make a successful Rules debut in a race that lacks depth. Grainne A Chroi is the likeliest to capitalise if the selection doesn't come up to expectations and Arctic Flame is an interesting newcomer on pedigree.

This might be a good opportunity for BLUE VELVET who was still involved when unseating in a point and the yard won this last year

MAMBHA, a C&D winner on two of her last three starts, including when defeating Callianassa (second), is still unexposed on the all-weather. She can keep progressing and defy a subsequent 5lb rise, although it would come as no surprise were Fior Di Bosco, who has been given some time off since disappointing on her handicap bow in August, to step forward. Disclosure is noted too.

We probably haven't seen the best of FIOR DI BOSCO after just 4 runs and, given the yard she represents, an improved showing would come as no surprise. Mambha and Callianassa finished first and second in a C&D handicap recently and they head the opposition.

It could be worth giving another chance to FIOR DI BOSCO, who was below par on her handicap debut in August but has had a break.

PORT NOIR has held her form well since winning brace of races here (one over this trip) in October and, off just 3lb higher than for the most recent of those successes, Robert Stephens' consistent mare has a leading chance of adding to her tally. Balqaa is closely matched with the selection based on their encounter here last month, when finishing a place behind her in fourth, and rates a serious threat with a 1lb pull at the weights. Lhebayeb and Sassy Glory also command respect.

LHEBAYEB was a touch unfortunate not to score last time and, from a lenient mark, she's worth a chance to gain compensation for all that Port Noir represents a stern rival. Balqaa also merits consideration in an open-looking event.

This could go the way of multiple course winner PORT NOIR who is taken to gain another deserved win after a series of good efforts here.

ORANGESANDLEMONS was slowly away on her debut last month but she picked up strongly close home to fill the runner-up spot. Ed Bethell's filly will know more this time around and, with improvement on the cards, she can go one better. Hush Puppy failed to justify strong market support at Lingfield on his first start but remains of interest. Ardaddy warrants a market check.

ORANGESANDLEMONS made a very positive start to her career when runner-up over C&D a month ago and with improvement on the cards, she'll take some stopping. Hush Puppy was too green to ever really look like landing a notable gamble on debut at Lingfield 3 weeks ago but he may show a lot more this time.

Hush Puppy is seemingly well regarded but the percentage call is ORANGESANDLEMONS on the back of her encouraging C&D debut second.

A C&D winner 19 days ago, Georginio rates a key player off just 3lb higher. However, he takes a step in class and may be vulnerable to one of the less exposed contenders. MAGNA GEE GEE fits that profile and starts handicapping from a workable mark, after showing some improvement on the last of his three qualifying runs over 7f at Southwell. A half-brother to a winner over this trip, stepping back up in distance could be highly beneficial. Ruling Master is the pick of the remainder.

GEORGINIO showed a good attitude when opening his account over C&D last time and should be able to lead once more, so he's the tentative choice ahead of Nidaami. Ruling Master also arrives on the back of a solid showing and there are a few nursery debutants with the potential to do better.

It could be worth siding with George Boughey's MADE THE CUT to build on previous promise and take a step forward now handcapping.
Class & Speed Card

MISSILE MAC didn't cut much ice in her qualifying runs, but she shaped with promise when finishing fourth on her nursery debut over 7f at Southwell recently. Eased 2lb tackling 5f for the first time, she gets the vote to land the spoils. Keats House posted a low-key effort on his nursery bow when sixth over 6f here last month, but an improved display would come as no surprise now sporting first-time cheekpieces on his first start since being gelded. Startling is noted as well.

Dual winner STARTLING brings the most solid credentials to the table and, with this stiffer track than she has encountered of late fancied to suit, all looks set fair for a big run. Missile Mac and Keats House may emerge as the lead dangers.

This is tricky but it might be worth siding with KEATS HOUSE, who looks a possible improver dropped to 5f after a gelding operation.
Class & Speed Card

STAR OF LIGHT, a daughter of Frankel out of Irish Oaks and Champion Fillies and Mares Stakes winner Star Catcher, is impossible to ignore on pedigree and could have been found an ideal starting point to start her career in a victorious manner. Coma Cluster appeals most from those with experience and is notable on her debut for a new yard, although Safe Idea was a respectable third over the extended mile here on her debut and is another likely improver.

STAR OF LIGHT is bred to be good and gets the vote to make a winning start to her career, with confidence increased should the betting vibes be strong. Safe Idea and Lesson of Life displayed promise on debut and can give the selection most to think about.

If STAR OF LIGHT has the ability to match her illustrious pedigree she will be hard to beat. Lesson Of Life should also run well.

LERWICK fared best of those ridden prominently when finishing runner-up over this trip at Southwell when last seen and, nudged up 1lb, it would be no surprise if he were able to go one place better this time around. Dingle was a beaten favourite in a similar contest here in the summer but he warrants a second look off 2lb lower returning from a break, while the class-dropping Nikovo is also noteworthy.

LERWICK ran up to his best making his all-weather debut when finishing a good second at Southwell in October and, lightly raced this year, he's of interest operating from a 1 lb higher mark. Dingle, back from a break, and Jewel Maker are others fancied to be thereabouts, as is top-weight Nikovo.

The vote goes to dual turf winner LERWICK, who made a bold bid when runner-up on his AW debut at Southwell in October.

BYZANTINE EMPRESS looks the way to go. The three-year-old finished a close-up third over 6f at this venue at the start of the month and goes off an unchanged rating. Her sole career victory so far came over this distance at Haydock in August, so the step back up in trip should suit. Take A Pull and Triumph Of Peace complete the shortlist.

A promising third on stable debut 19 days ago, BYZANTINE EMPRESS gave the impression that she'd soon be winning races for new connections. She will likely face some stiff competition, not least from the consistent Enola Grey who would aid her chance by breaking on terms. Of the others, Staincliff is interesting upped to seven furlongs for the first time.

She's more exposed than most but POWDERING looked ready to strike here last time and can reverse placings with Byzantine Empress.

RHYTHM N HOOVES was making his first start since being readily outclassed in the Ayr Silver Cup when finishing an eye-catching fourth over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Robert Cowell's charge was doing his best work late on that day and, back up to 6f off an unchanged mark, he looks the one to be with. True Promise was last seen finishing third in a slightly deeper race over C&D recently, and he cannot be underestimated. Mondammej is respected most of the remainder.

An open-looking sprint but MONDAMMEJ went down narrowly in pursuit of a C&D hat-trick on Tuesday and, clearly still thriving. Antony Britain's 7-y-o can regain the winning thread at the expense of Rhythm N Hooves, who got back on track in a change of headgear at Wolverhampton recently and could well build on that. Royal Pleasure was a big eye catcher on yard debut at Thirsk back in the spring, so he can edge out True Promise for third.

The return to 6f should suit RHYTHM N HOOVES who is narrowly preferred to the thriving Mondammej.

Alfheim was victorious over 1m4f at this track on her most recent start and she holds an obvious chance off a 3lb higher rating. However, she needs to prove herself over this longer distance, which might open the door for DARK MYSTERY. The five-year-old has made the frame over this trip in two of his last three starts and has now slipped to a workable mark. Kojin is another to watch out for.

The vote goes to DARK MYSTERY, who failed to fire last time but he will have every chance if reproducing the form of his solid placed efforts at Southwell in October. Alfheim is an obvious threat on the back of her recent breakthrough success and is feared most ahead of Trackman. Cases can also be made for Grand Duchess Olga and Black Smoke.

This looks a very good opportunity for George Boughey's ALFHEIM (nap) to continue his excellent start for the yard.

WILLIAM DEWHIRST produced a convincing display on his latest start to land a C&D double. A 5lb rise may not be enough to anchor Ben Haslam's inmate in his current frame of mind and he looks worth sticking with. King's School may prove the main threat stepping back up to 7f, while Tomorrow Day has now won four times here, though prevailed by only a neck last time.

KING'S SCHOOL rates just the pick of the weights so edges the vote in this very open-looking handicap. Hat-trick seeking William Dewhirst heads the list of dangers, with Alreet Cha, Bobby Joe Leg and Shaw Park all in the mix too. Streak Lightning completes the shortlist.

The vote goes to WILLIAM DEWHIRST (nap), who completed a C&D double in good style 12 days ago. Tomorrow Day is feared most.

WHATS IN THE BAG was denied by just under a length when second in this grade at Lingfield last time and the handicapper might have been kind to leave his mark alone for that performance. If the son of Dark Angel can reproduce that level of form, then he could prove tough to beat. The in-form Havana Sky is an obvious danger, with the veteran Muscika also worth a second look.

HAVANA SKY is on a roll and a 2 lb nudge for last weekend's successs at Southwell probably underestimates him. The Ed Dunlop-trained 3-y-o may well have more to offer and he is preferred to the consistent Whats In The Bag and Muscika.

One More Wave can bounce back to form but WHATS IN THE BAG is handicapped to win and ran well at Lingfield last time.

JUST TYPICAL won nicely over course and distance last month and returns to this venue with every chance. The three-year-old finished a solid fourth over a longer trip at Southwell last time and is reunited with winning partner Ryan Kavanagh. Concert Boy has a bit to find with the selection but can still make his presence felt, while Filey Beach finished runner-up here in October and is not easily dismissed.

Lots with chances so at the likely odds it is worth siding with THUNDERSTORM KATIE to capitalise on a handy-looking mark now back at a more suitable trip and gain her breakthrough success. C&D scorer Concert Boy rates the pick of the rest, although the likes of Just Typical, Yaahobby and Angel of Antrim all need factoring in too.

It could be worth taking a chance on THUNDERSTORM KATIE getting off the mark on her third run for Jim Goldie.

Several of these are old rivals and the margins look tight in terms of handicapping. Last-time-out winners Master Of My Fate, Darlo Pride and Basholo all command respect and warrant close scrutiny. As does the hat-trick seeking Havechatma, despite this being her first start at this venue. However, it would be dangerous to allow AMERICAN FASHION to slip under the radar and, from a rating of just 60, this well-bred filly, who cost 340,000gns as a yearling, could be the surprise package in a wide-open race.

Plenty of these arrive here in good order. AMERICAN FASHION has yet to get her head in front but she appeared to benefit from the addition of a hood (on again here) when runner-up in a Southwell maiden recently (probably would've finished closer to the winner granted a clear run) and she is on an appealing mark back in handicap company. Darlo Pride got the better of Master of My Fate at Newcastle and he is feared most.

Darlo Pride is weighted to confirm Newcastle placings with MASTER OF MY FATE but the unexposed selection has won well since.

MY BROTHER MIKE bounced back to form with a C&D win last month and isn't overburdened in his bid to follow up from just 3lb higher. Adace is more reliable than the majority of the rest and is capable of making this a good test, despite having never won from a mark this high before. Storm Asset, Damoiseau and Light Up Our Stars are other contenders to monitor in the betting.

If turned out again quickly following her Chelmsford success on Thursday evening, FOREVER PROUD could be the answer. Adace is in good form and she may be the one to follow the selection home, while Inspiring Speeches and My Brother Mike, who was a C&D winner last month, are others with claims.

Money for Legend Of Leros would alter the complexion of the race but as things stand STORM ASSET is tentatively preferred.

THE SPOTLIGHT KID did just enough to score on his last two starts and, having won from this mark and higher before, going up 3lb for his latest success might not prevent him from rounding out a hat-trick. Overnight Oats is an obvious threat based on his current form and has also won off higher than his current rating. Eccentric and Lupset Flossy Pop are a couple of others who can get competitive on these terms.

OVERNIGHT OATS continues to thrive and can rack up a four-timer having done well to score at Lingfield last time out. Hat-trick seeking The Spotlight Kid appeals as the one to chase home James Owen's 4-y-o, with Eccentric, Lupset Flossy Pop and Harry The Haggle in the picture too.

The Spotlight Kid and OVERNIGHT OATS are thriving and the latter is fancied to make it four on the bounce.
Ths is the racecard key.
