Spring Note

11/4(+73%)
(8) Spring Note 11/4, Bumper winner who left previous hurdles efforts behind to make a successful handicap debut here (19f) in March. Stamina stretched by 3m on her Ascot reappearance, shaping better than a remote seventh might suggest. Down markedly in trip now.
Did not see out 3m last time but remains lightly raced and was 2m3f course winner in March.

Amelia's Dance

9/1(-13%)
(5) Amelia's Dance 9/1, Added to an excellent record at Taunton when winning last December. Lost her way in the spring but back on song of late, runner-up over 2m at Wincanton and Kempton in recent months. Didn't seem to stay 19f when fifth at Taunton latest and treated as if still in form.
Shade disappointing last time but has good claims if judged on Kempton second in November.

Walk Of No Shame

11/1(-300%)
(7) Walk Of No Shame 11/1, Bumper/novice hurdle winner last winter who added to her tally in a 3-runner handicap at Southwell (2m, soft) 13 days ago. 4 lb higher in a more competitive race now.
Beat two rivals fairly comfortably at Southwell two weeks ago; faces tougher task today.

Magical Maggie

11/2(-100%)
(1) Magical Maggie 11/2, Mare with a good strike-rate, gaining a sixth win from 11 starts when easily seeing off 4 rivals at Ludlow (2m, heavy) 24 days ago. A 7 lb rise is unlikely to prevent another prominent showing.
Drew clear to win by 14l at Ludlow this month and is now 4-8 over hurdles.
5th

Mucuna

66/1(-1000%)
(3) Mucuna 66/1, Just a modest Flat winner but quickly made up into a better hurdler in summer 2022, winning 4 juveniles. Not seen since so a watching brief is the percentage call on her handicap debut in this sphere.
Farmed juvenile hurdles in summer 2022 but returns from layoff in much tougher race.

Greyval

(2) Greyval 6/1, Dual winner in juvenile hurdles last season, including a listed event at Doncaster. Shaped as if she'd come on for the run when sixth of 12 in on handicap debut at Ascot (2m, good to soft, 18/1) 32 days ago. Considered.
Listed juvenile hurdle winner last season; sixth in warm Ascot handicap last month; player.

8th
8th (6) Mary (7/1 +13%)
Mary

7/1(+13%)
(6) Mary 7/1, Yeats filly who showed plenty of promise when placed in bumpers at Warwick and Cheltenham last spring and third in 2 hurdles since returning to action, latterly a listed event over C&D. Of some interest now making a quick switch to handicaps.
Unexposed filly who was third in Listed novice over C&D last month; high on the list.

Lime Avenue

11/1(-175%)
(4) Lime Avenue 11/1, Impressive bumper winner on debut at Chepstow and off the mark at the third attempt over hurdles at Wincanton (21.5f, good to soft) in February. Below that level in 2 handicaps this season and now has a first-time hood added to her regular tongue tie.
Finished tired in both handicaps this autumn but may benefit from this drop back in trip.
LTO Selection:

12:05 Newbury Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Better was clearly expected of LIME AVENUE at Hereford a fortnight ago, having been sent off as favourite. The daughter of Walk In The Park appeared to be stretched by an extended 2m3f that day, however, so it's possible that Paul Nicholls' mare could fare better eased in trip, and with a first-time hood applied. Magical Maggie merits the utmost respect following her recent Ludlow romp, while Greyval is just one more to consider for the red-hot Fergal O'Brien team.

PARIKARMA looked suited by the drop back to 2m when second at Market Rasen and can provide Gary Moore with yet another winner this week. The prolific Magical Maggie is second choice ahead of handicap newcomer Mary and Fergal O'Brien's Greyval, who should be sharper for her reappearance.

The answer might be handicap debutante MARY, who shaped very well before fading into third in a recent Listed novice over C&D.

Hill Of Tara

Evens(+39%)
(6) Hill Of Tara Evens, Much improved sent handicapping this season, winning in the mud at Ffos Las and Leicester last month. Beaten on hat-trick bid at Southwell but still ran well and the step up to 3m could unlock more improvement.
In good form this term with two wins over 2m4f; this longer trip should suit; a possible.
2
2nd (1) Front View (8/1 -7%)
Front View

8/1(-7%)
(1) Front View 8/1, Useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien in 2020/21. Has been given a chance by the handicapper and showed better signs when third over 3m at Ffos Las 18 days ago, around 2 lengths down when bad mistake last. Well treated if he can build on that.
Ex-Irish; hasn't won since December 2020 but on a good mark and fair run last time.

(4) Chris Cool 6/1, Back from 7 months off when taking 6-runner handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (25f, good to soft) last month and even better form when second off 6 lb higher at Bangor (23f, heavy) 15 days ago. Nudged up another 3 lb but still respected in refitted cheekpieces.
Two good runs over hurdles this term ; goes well on testing ground and one with a chance.

(3) Best Trition 40/1, Unreliable type but he resumed from 7 months off with close second in handicap chase at Wetherby (3m, heavy) in November. Merely underlined his inconsistency when pulled up at Newcastle since. Now back hurdling.
Good 2nd over fences in November but pulled up latest; now back hurdling; hard to predict.
LTO Selection:

12:15 Haydock Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HILL OF TARA twice won easily in November and only found one too good on his hat-trick bid over an extended 2m4f at Southwell last time. The step up to 3m could bring about further improvement from the six-year-old and he merits the utmost respect here. That said, Shoeshine Boy has been knocking on the door of late and is an obvious threat, while Chris Cool is another to note.

HILL OF TARA is taken to get back to winning ways now stepping up to 3m. Front View took a step back in the right direction when third at Ffos Las recently and is feared most ahead of Chris Cool.

The in-form CHRIS COOL is taken to beat Hill Of Tara, who should improve for the step up to 3m, and Shoeshine Boy.

(10) Queen Of Steel 50/1, Poor maiden on the Flat and ran to only a similar level when second of 4 on hurdle debut at Fontwell last month. Dropped away quickly there since.

(4) Garrick Street 125/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1m) for Andrew Balding. Sold for £7,000 and went with no encouragement switched to hurdles for new yard at Exeter last month.
80-1 and was tailed off when pulled up on his jumps debut at Exeter.
LTO Selection:

12:25 Taunton Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MOJO EGO got off the mark at Doncaster in November and the son of Intello is clearly the one to beat here with his rider's 5lb claim largely negating his 7lb penalty. Swift Hawk filled second place over 1m4f three times on the Flat and has to be of interest on his hurdling bow, while Orchestra and Right Now are others to consider.

MOJO EGO got off the mark over hurdles at the fourth attempt on his second start for this yard at Doncaster 6 weeks ago and his experience may prove decisive up against a couple of interesting Flat recruits, namely Swift Hawk and Orchestra.

Mojo Ego has clear claims but the newcomers to hurdling are interesting and SWIFT HAWK was the most expensive at the sales.

French Flat form puts him roughly on a par with Paradias; interesting recruit.
LTO Selection:

12:40 Newbury Conditions Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

An intriguing contest which would appear to revolve around the three penalised runners, and PARADIAS might be the answer. The son of Kodiac, who achieved a peak rating of 95 when trained on the Flat, was an easy winner on his hurdling bow last month and he should progress further in this sphere. Jeriko Du Reponet and Secret Squirrel were equally as convincing on their first starts over timber, so both look likely to give the selection plenty to think about.

JERIKO DU REPONET has a big reputation and hardly came off the bridle when scoring here on hurdling debut, so he's very much the one to beat for all that Paradias and Secret Squirrel also have plenty of potential.

Nicky Henderson speaks in glowing terms about JERIKO DU REPONET, who has stacks of potential. Secret Squirrel is feared most.

Fair effort on second point start but modest efforts over hurdles; others stronger.
LTO Selection:

12:50 Haydock Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Norman Fletcher has to be of interest following two recent victories but the vote goes to BERTIE'S BALLET. The five-year-old chased home a rival who was subsequently second in a Grade 1 at Aintree on Boxing Day on his most recent outing and that form gives him a big chance here. The rest all need to improve to score but Jo Arengeot Bey Aa should not be written off on his hurdling bow.

BERTIE'S BALLET finished with running left when second on his hurdling debut at Wetherby last month and, given his useful level of form in bumpers, he can take a step forward to get off the mark in this sphere. Norman Fletcher arrives bidding for a hat-trick and isn't taken lightly, with Jo Arengeot Bey AA the pick of the remainder.

Although Norman Fletcher is progressive he may struggle to give the weight to the promising dual bumper winner BERTIE'S BALLET.

LTO Selection:

13:00 Taunton Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CENTARA showed enough promise on his hurdling debut at Newbury at the beginning of the month to suggest that he can be successful in a race of this nature. Long Draw was second in an Irish point in March and should not be underestimated on his first start under Rules. French Flat winner Nila edges out Thunder N Lightnin to be the pick of the rest.

Course bumper winner CENTARA should have derived plenty from last month's hurdling debut at Newbury when badly in need of the experience, so he's selected to open his account at the second time of asking in this sphere. Thunder N Lightnin offered something to work on at Kempton on his belated Rules debut and may improve, with Long Draw and Nila others to consider.

This may go to CENTARA. He's a long way from being the finished article but is probably the most talented of these.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Venetia Williams has an excellent record in this contest, winning two of the previous four renewals, and MARTATOR can provide the trainer with further success. He was no match for an impressive winner over C&D last time, but the unexposed chaser could go one better raised just 1lb in the handicap. Guy has been largely consistent over the larger obstacles and he is unlikely to be far away, while Issar D'Airy is worth a second look ahead of his fencing bow.

MARTATOR shaped as if ahead of his mark when second over C&D 10 days ago and, if the race doesn't come too soon, he could open his account in this sphere. Richhill arrives on the back of an encouraging display and could pose a threat, while chasing-debutant Issar d'Airy is one to note if the market speaks in his favour.

Having posted a very encouraging effort over C&D last week, MARTATOR (nap) could well go one better and open his British account.

FORTESCUE displayed plenty of promise when fourth in a competitive event at Chepstow on his return to action three weeks ago and Henry Daly's charge is hard to oppose off a 1lb lower mark here. Robyndzone fell at Sandown last time but is a player based on his previous Ludlow success, while Collectors Item and East Street could also go well.

COLLECTORS ITEM is getting better over fences and has been crying out for this sort of trip, so looks the solid option. Fantastikas may emerge as the biggest threat having stopped the slide at Ludlow.

This sort of stamina test promises to suit COLLECTORS ITEM (nap) so he's the pick. Fantastikas might be the one for the forecast.

LTO Selection:

13:35 Taunton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ballinoulart has been knocking on the door of late and is likely to be in the mix once again, along with the recent Market Rasen second Hard Frost. That said, preference is for MILTIADES, who got off the mark over 2m4f at Ludlow a few weeks ago and 3lb rise for that success appears to be fair. The shortlist is completed by Safe Destination and Furkash.

HARD FROST is unexposed as a chaser and likely to come on for his positive reappearance at Market Rasen, so he's narrowly preferred to Miltiades, who opened his account last time. Safe Destination is also of interest for all that consistency isn't his strong suit.

This can go to MILTIADES (nap), who does not look harshly treated by a 3lb rise for his recent 2m4f win and can improve again.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Newbury Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

GET A TONIC is top-weight for a reason and it is difficult to look past her in this contest, following a thoroughly impressive display over C&D earlier in the month. An 8lb rise will make life more difficult, but conditions should be in her favour again as she looks to master the likes of Rambo T and Steal A March, who hasn't been in action since winning this time last year at Wincanton.

Olly Murphy has his string in good order and RAMBO T could be the answer to a tricky-looking puzzle. He didn't help himself with a scrappy round of jumping here last time but he has generally looked a safe enough conveyance and appeared to be on the up prior to that. Irish Hill was behind Get A Tonic over C&D a month ago but he's now 10 lb better off with that rival and will have a serious chance if the addition of blinkers help spark a return to form. Steal A March also merits respect.

Having bounced back emphatically over C&D four weeks ago, GET A TONIC is taken to follow up. Steal A March is second choice.

Step Above can make further strides forward now he is tried in first-time blinkers, while Southern Sam has proven to be consistent in this discipline and is likely to have benefitted form his return to action at Wetherby last month. However, PRESENTING JEREMY also has bags of scope to progress as a chaser and, having blown the cobwebs away with a spin over an inadequate 2m4f at Carlisle, he is fancied to have a much bigger impact now back up in trip.

SOUTHERN SAM had a hard race when third on his reappearance on deep ground at Wetherby but he's had 42 days to recover from those exertions and is appealing off the same mark. It wasn't the brightest of starts that Rouge de L'Quest made over fences at Chepstow but this winning pointer has been eased 3 lb since and he may well leave that effort behind now equipped with cheekpieces. Cases can also be made for Cardamon Hill and Gold Emery.

14:25 Newbury Handicap Chase (Class 3) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A tentative vote goes to the unexposed ATLANTA BRAVE, who showed marked improvement from first to second start in this sphere when a highly encouraging second over shorter at Exeter last month. The five-year-old should have more to come over further and he is narrowly preferred to the capable Fantastikas, as well as Surrey Quest, who has undergone wind surgery since a taking success at Huntingdon. Bowtogreatness has run well fresh in the past and ended last campaign with a strong runner-up effort in a premier handicap at Aintree.

Plenty to consider but CERTAINLY RED and Bowtogreatness both look on fair marks stepping back down in class, the former shading the vote with the advantage of a recent run. Shanty Alley was runner-up in this last year off 5 lb higher so is capable of going close with his reappearance under his belt.

This new trip looks likely to suit ATLANTA BRAVE, who can show further progress. Surrey Quest is feared most.

14:35 Haydock Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

START IN FRONT responded kindly for William Maggs when they teamed up in a conditional jockeys' race at Market Rasen 23 days ago and another big run can be expected despite a 3lb rise. The longer trip is a slight a concern for the selection but, given Maggs can utilise his full 7lb claim today, there is good reason to keep the faith. Punta Del Este drops in class and is feared most after a solid effort off the same mark at Sandown last time, while Ayr novice winner Fortescue Wood is also considered.

PUNTA DEL ESTE has shaped well on both starts back this term and is fancied to get off the mark for his current connections now returning to the scene of his excellent third in the Victor Ludorum. Fortescue Wood's Ayr win 10 months ago has worked out well, so he's considered a big threat on his handicap debut, while Gaelik Coast and Start In Front also command plenty of respect.

He's 0-5 in Britain but PUNTA DEL ESTE gave a good account when placed in a valuable Sandown handicap three weeks ago and is selected.

LTO Selection:

14:45 Taunton Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Game Winner will need to jump with more fluency than he did over fences here last time, but he remains open to further improvement and could be given an added boost by the application of cheekpieces for the first time. However, preference is for the Fergal O'Brien-trained HURRICANE HARVEY, who posted a solid fourth at a higher level on his latest outing and would appear to have an excellent chance now eased in class. King Of The Lake is also noted.

The fences have got in the way a little for GAME WINNER on his 2 starts this season and he can show he's on a good mark back hurdling in first-time headgear. The reliable Hurricane Harvey could be the one for the forecast spot.

This can go to GAME WINNER. Mistakes have held him back over fences this season and he's probably on a good mark.

LTO Selection:

15:00 Newbury Novices Hurdle (Class 1) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Paul Nichols trained the last three winners of this race and again plays a strong hand with Captain Teague, who steps up in class after a shock defeat when favourite for a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham last month, and the progressive Farnoge, who is as yet unbeaten under Rules. However, Nicky Henderson has a real live-wire on his hands in the shape of WILLMOUNT, who was highly impressive on his hurdles/stable debut here last month. Having also won a point-to-point and two bumpers for previous connections, this son of Blue Bresil has already proven to be versatile and is fancied to take the step up in class and trip in his stride.

Paul Nicholls can land this Grade 1 for the fourth year in succession courtesy of CAPTAIN TEAGUE, who has made a really bright start to his hurdle career at Grade 2 level in recent months. Willmount looks highly talented and is feared most ahead of Greatwood runner-up Lookaway.

Exciting prospect JOHNNYWHO gets the vote ahead of Willmount, another unbeaten contender. Captain Teague is also respected.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

HAPPY AND FINE improved from his first to second start over fences when scoring over this distance at Leicester last time out and a 3lb rise could prove lenient as he looks to follow up. That may be at the main expense of the relatively consistent Ned Tanner and Regal Blue, who shaped with promise when not beaten far on his own chasing bow at Leicester earlier in the month.

HAPPY AND FINE has been suited by a switch to chasing this season and, given he had something to spare when scoring at Leicester recently, he's worth a chance to double his tally in this sphere. Regal Blue is one to consider after a solid chasing debut and Ned Tanner looked unlucky not to win on his last completed start, so he's another one to consider.

Having taken well to chasing \HAPPY AND FINE\p is taken to follow up his recent win at Leicester. Regal Blue should also run well.

15:20 Taunton Handicap Chase (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A taking winner on his chase debut at Hereford last month, PEDLEY WOOD is open to plenty more improvement as he looks to overcome a 4lb rise for that success. Wind surgery certainly had a positive effect on the six-year-old and he gets the vote ahead of Concrete King, who wasn't beaten far at Southwell last time out. Runner-up on two of his last three starts, the veteran Dindin can also have a say in proceedings.

This can go to CONCRETE KING, who wasn't seen to best effect under an excessively patient ride when finishing a close third at Southwell just under a fortnight ago and Neil Mulholland's 9-y-o can belatedly open his account under Rules. Consistency is by no means Dindin's strong suit but he can give the selection most to do, with last-time-out winner Pedley Wood and Paseo rounding off the shortlist.

A repeat of CONCRETE KING's rallying third at Southwell should put him right in the thick of things.

Passing Well and Ballycamus both come into this on the back of winning performances and enter calculations, while Neon Moon might find this is a tad easier than the race he contested at Ascot last month and commands respect. However, GOLDEN SON is surely better than he could muster on heavy ground in a Class 2 beginners' chase at Aintree earlier this month. A Grade 2 winner over hurdles during his time in France, the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding was runner-up in a deeper race than this at Warwick on his penultimate start and looks worth another chance here.

PASSING WELL has made a bright start over fences, going one better than on his chase debut when scoring in game fashion at Lingfield a month ago. He can continue his progress to follow up over this longer trip, though Walking On Air possesses the physique for chasing and isn't taken lightly, while Golden Son remains capable of better in this sphere.

Another chance is given to GOLDEN SON, who struggled on bad ground last time but can now build upon his very promising British debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GRAFFITI had plenty in hand when winning over the extended 1m1f circuit here last month and, as this doesn't appear to be much tougher on face value, it would come as no surprise to see the four-year-old readily cope with carrying top-weight in this company. Prince Ali and Harbour Vision are both better than they could muster last time out and rate as shortlist material, given each is a previous course winner. High Court Judge is also considered due to being unexposed st the trip.

The vote goes to GRAFFITI, who did the job well over 9.5f here last time and neither this drop back in trip nor the 6 lb rise are likely to overly inconvenience him. Prince Ali was below par last time but he's otherwise been in good form in recent months and looks the main danger ahead of Harbour Vision and Finn Russell.

The drop from 0-85 class can help VERONA STAR resume winning ways on just his second run for Tony Carroll, ahead of Graffiti.

15:45 Haydock NH Flat Race (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of SAN FRANDISCO, who must hold every chance if building upon a strong runner-up effort on his Rules debut at Chepstow last month. Going by his pedigree, Jamie Snowden's charge should be able to handle heavy ground and he is taken to see off NH newcomer Rossbridge, who has also won a point-to-point. Maggies Boy is another to note for market support as he makes his racecourse debut.

SAN FRANDISCO is the only one who has been seen under Rules so Jamie Snowden's charge can put that experience to good use and go one better than when finishing runner-up at Chepstow last month. Point-winners Rossbridge and Rehill Relic can chase him home in that order.

Chepstow runner-up SAN FRANDISCO probably sets a fairly good standard of rules form and gets the nod.

15:55 Taunton Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

INDIVIDUALISTE's only career win came over C&D in March 2022 and he showed some promise again when third over this track and trip earlier in the month. He has been helped by a 1lb drop in the ratings following that effort and may have enough to see off Nordic Tiger, who ran a career-best when third at Lingfield last time out and should be open to improvement now tackling further. Consistent Flat performer Fleurman cannot be ruled out either on his return to this sphere.

INDIVIDUALISTE took a step back in the right direction when third at this C&D 16 days ago, despite making his effort away from the principals in the straight, so he is taken to return to winning ways with cheekpieces on first time. Nordic Tiger could yet do better for his current yard and is feared most, ahead of Well Vicky.

Olly Murphy's FLEURMAN makes a belated return to hurdling after a productive year on the Flat and he should be very well handicapped.

16:15 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

Swinging Eddie is still on a competitive mark despite going up 4lb for winning over this course and distance win eight days ago, while Dakota Power has won once and been placed three times from just five visits to this venue, and again looks a solid candidate to be heavily involved. Nevertheless, MUMAYAZ shades them both in terms of consistency and, from 2lb lower than his last winning mark, the Tony Carroll-trained gelding is suggested as the pick of this bunch.

SWINGING EDDIE resumed winning ways in comprehensive fashion when recording a third C&D win last week so can defy a 4 lb rise. Mumayaz should be in the mix again, while Bishop's Glory produced a career best on only his third start for this yard when making all over C&D 6 weeks ago.

Better drawn than when winning another C&D 0-65 last time, BISHOP'S GLORY can follow up at the expense of the frustrating Mumayaz.

16:45 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This looks a good opportunity for VERDANSK to break his maiden, despite this being the ninth time of asking. The son of No Nay Never has run well on both previous attempts on the all-weather since joining the Henry Candy yard and, with the return to 7f not expected to raise any issues, another big run is expected. Mapogo enters calculations after finishing second to a potentially useful type on his debut on the Flat 11 days ago, while Hombre is another to seriously consider.

A decent opening for VERDANSK after his fine second in a 6f handicap here last time. That's 2 good races he's run on AW and this longer trip will suit Henry Candy's charge. Mapogo and Hombre are dangerous, while Thats Dandy Harry is worth a look first time up.

If VERDANSK can reproduce the form he's shown when placed in two AW handicaps since joining Henry Candy he'll likely get off the mark.

LIGHT UP OUR STARS was only beaten a length when fourth over C&D last week and the seven-year-old merits plenty of respect off a 1lb lower mark here. Larado may benefit from this step back up in distance and is a threat to the selection, while Gavi Di Gavi and True Statesman are others who are capable of making the frame.

TRUE STATESMAN ran his best race for a while when third at Chelmsford and looks interesting again now having dropped in the weights. Ernie's Valentine was all the rage in the betting starting out for this yard but struggled to get involved after a poor start here last month so is worth another chance, while Bass Player made a decent start for this yard when third here 3 weeks ago.

The form of the race TRUE STATESMAN was third in last time has been boosted so he's given a chance to build on that encouraging run.

BALDOMERO was only beaten a neck when second in a stronger event than this at Kempton 10 days ago and he tops the shortlist for this contest off the same mark. Starshiba, a stablemate of the selection, won over C&D a couple of weeks ago and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Rousing Encore is best of the rest.

ROUSING ENCORE shaped quite well back on AW for just the second time in his career at Lingfield earlier this month and is given a chance to build on that promise and strike. Mick Appleby pair Starshiba and Baldomero may give him most to do.

Richard Fahey's 3yo ROUSING ENCORE made a promising return when fifth at Lingfield and can get back to winning ways.

LTO Selection:

18:15 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The consistent PEPSI CAT returned to winning ways over this trip at Newcastle three weeks ago and a 3lb rise may not be enough to stop her here. That said, Nelson Gay should not be underestimated having hit the crossbar over C&D recently, while One Night Stand and Ramon Di Loria are others who are capable of going well at this level.

This looks a strong contest for the grade but ONE NIGHT STAND had loads in hand when scoring at Lingfield a week ago and, if the race doesn't come too soon, he's capable of following up. Fellow last-time-out winners Wee Fat Mac and Pepsi Cat are likely to go well again.

Scott Dixon's ONE NIGHT STAND returned to winning ways in some style at Lingfield last time and can make light of a 7lb weights rise.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CRAFTER was able to exploit a drop in the ratings when winning over this C&D a fortnight ago, and Mark Loughnane's charge looks handicapped to repeat the dose having been raised just 2lb for that head success. A three-time track winner (twice over this trip), Carey Street continues to run with some credit in defeat and he should not be written off, along with Art Of Romance, who returns to handicaps having finished third in a seller at Chelmsford last month.

CRAFTER landed some tidy bets when capitalising on a much-reduced mark over C&D 2 weeks ago, and having been nudged up just 2 lb for that success, Mark Loughnane's 5-y-o has solid claims of following up. He can get the better of Shaheen Saqaar, who should benefit from this drop back in trip, with Havana Goldrush and Ebury taken to fight out minor honours.

This looks an fine opportunity for Mark Loughnane's rejuvenated CRAFTER (nap) to follow up his recent C&D success off a 2lb higher mark

LTO Selection:

19:15 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SWING TO THE STARS has been gradually working her way down the handicap in recent starts, despite performing with some credit, so Ian Williams' filly could get her nose in front today in what looks a winnable contest. Mitigator was well-held in second at Chelmsford last time but a similar performance would bring him firmly into the reckoning, while Isle of Wolves and Ermin Street are just two others to consider.

ISLE OF WOLVES had been in good order prior to an excusable run last time and, down in grade, he's worth taking a chance on. Swing To The Stars and Ermin Street both arrive in reasonable form and are likely to get competitive.

David Evans probably wouldn't need to elicit a lot of improvement from TAXIING for her to account for Isle Of Wolves and the rest.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
