Gelded over the winter, KING'S CHARTER remains unexposed having won a novice race over a mile at Doncaster on his seasonal debut. He gave the strong impression this extra yardage would suit and the son of Kingman could prove to be favourably handicapped. Ryan Moore partners War Hawk, who bids for a hat-trick raised 5lb, while Regalian just missed out at Musselburgh recently and he also merits consideration. The Charlie Johnston yard has won five of the last 10 renewals so Marhaba Ghaiyyath is another to note.

A highly competitive race in which the Crisfords' hat-trick seeker WAR HAWK gets the vote ahead of handicap newcomer King's Charter.

Great Blasket was able to exploit a sliding handicap mark when on target under Elizabeth Gale at Chepstow and he merits the utmost respect from 3lb higher. However, a chance can be taken on LADY OF ARABIA, who made a pleasing return at Haydock last month. Eve Johnson Houghton's mare could take a step forward, especially with the benefit of Jack Nicholls' 5lb claim. Chalk Mountain continues to run well in defeat and is unlikely to be far away.

Nothing would entirely surprise in an open handicap. GREAT BLASKET did well to win at Chepstow and he's still on a favourable mark.

Being drawn in stall 13 isn't insurmountable but it doesn't really do Dubai Treasure many favours. The lightly-raced filly also needs another personal best running off 10lb higher than her winning return at Lingfield 22 days ago. With those factors in mind, PHYSIQUE could be worth chancing from a more favourable stalls position. His recent form when paired with Hollie Doyle is highly encouraging and he can play a big part off 1lb lower than his last winning mark. Previous C&D winners Feel The Need and It Just Takes Time hold each-way appeal in a wide-open race.

Off an attractive mark dropped in class and returned to York, STREETS OF GOLD gets the vote. Physique is second pick.

The Group 3 Albany Stakes winner VENETIAN SUN is difficult to oppose. Karl Burke's progressive filly won in fine style at Royal Ascot and can take this further step up in class in her stride. Shine On Me wasn't disgraced over the minimum trip at the Royal meeting when sixth in the Queen Mary and this extra furlong should help her, while Argentine Tango continued her excellent progress with a Listed victory over C&D.

Venetian Sun commands huge respect, as the early betting reflects. MOOD QUEEN and Shine On Me are interesting at bigger odds.

It is difficult to look past FRONT LINE FURY, who is 2lb well-in under a penalty having bolted up on his nursery bow at Haydock last week. The strength of that form is up for debate, but the progressive youngster should have more in his locker. At the foot of the handicap, Proof is interesting now stepped up to 6f after looking outpaced at the minimum trip latest. Sayidah Hard Spun is most appealing of the remaining duo.

All four command respect but there's no guesswork involved in making a case for FRONT LINE FURY who has won easily the last twice.

SAYIDAH DARIYAN still holds untapped potential and tops the shortlist after her highly creditable fourth-placed finish in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. That is arguably the strongest piece of recent form available and dropping in class could be just the ticket for Richard Hughes' low-mileage filly. Electric Storm surely has a decent race within her reach and is dangerous to underestimate. However, three-year-olds have been dominant in this race of late and the likes of First Instinct and Celandine could take advantage of their weight-for-age allowance to pose stronger threats to the selection.

The progressive 3yo SAYIDAH DARIYAN (nap) has run fine races on her last two starts and can record her first turf success.

Story Horse has to be of interest, having gone close in a competitive handicap at Goodwood when beaten only a neck. The winner went on to win over 1m6f at Royal Ascot last month, with ENDLESS VICTORY back in seventh, but that was the latter's first outing since February. Charlie Appleby's charge caught the eye doing his best work at the finish and he should have plenty more to offer over this distance. Dancing In Paris drops in trip after finishing an admirable second in the Northumberland Plate, while Insanity is not out of it either.

Endless Victory is eyecatching but Dancing In Paris and STORY HORSE are improving and look better handicapped.

A small but competitive field in which preference is for LAKERS. Second behind Derby runner-up Lazy Griff at Beverley in July of last year before struggling on his handicap bow at Newbury, he returned from wind surgery and a gelding operation to score at Newmarket in comfortable fashion a fortnight ago. A 4lb rise should be no barrier to further success and he can follow up, possibly at the main expense of Sea Force. Accentuate should not be overlooked either.

Marginal preference is for ACCENTUATE who was strong through the line at Windsor and he's as unexposed as any in here.

Bosa Nova scored gamely on her debut at Chepstow and is respected as the only previous winner in the race. However, this looks deeper and the concession of 4lb to the rest is persuasive enough to look towards the newcomers for the outright winner. The well-related Secret Echo is bred to have an impact and is one of the first to consider representing an in-form yard. However, the trip could be a stumbling block and AYLIN, a half-sister to a couple of wining sprinters, shades the vote on the basis of 6f potentially being more suitable at this early stage.

The vote goes to Karl Burke's filly AYLIN who fetched 600,000gns as a yearling and holds a Lowther entry here next month.

Crimson Advocate (winner), Cinderella's Dream (second) and Running Lion (fourth) are all set to lock horns again having met in the Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot. They look certain to play a role once again but, in receipt of the weight-for-age allowance, JANUARY could be too strong. Aidan O'Brien's filly finished a highly-creditable third in the Coronation Stakes, a race which probably wasn't run to suit. The daughter of Kingman is still progressing and a well-deserved success at the top table could await. Elwateen struggled in the Oaks having seemingly not handled Epsom, but she retains potential and should not be written off at a big price.

Crimson Advocate and Cinderella's Dream look best of the older runners, while JANUARY and Elwateen are respected 3yos.

This step up in trip could bring out even more improvement and she will prove hard to beat.

The Gosdens have won two of the previous three renewals, including last year with the brilliant Field Of Gold, and their representative Oxagon merits respect with that in mind. Charlie Appleby also has an excellent record in this contest, though, and it is DISTANT STORM who gets the nod. A 90,000gns yearling before being purchased for 1.9m euros at the Arqana Breeze-Ups in May, he is related to a few smart winners and it would come as no surprise were he up to the task. Others to note include Billecart and Constitution River.

The most striking contender on paper is DISTANT STORM who was the most expensive lot at this May's Arqana Breeze-Up Sale.

Richard Hughes' charge showed significant improvement when sporting first-time blinkers, making his way through the field to beat a well-fancied Godolphin runner at Kempton, and the son of Time Test should have no issues with this step back up in trip. Runner-up on both starts to date, the John Ryan-trained EYE OF A TIGER can gain a first success. Versatile regarding trip, the five-year-old finished second over this distance on her racecourse debut before stepping up three furlongs when again taking minor honours last time. In receipt of weight from the previous winners, the daughter of Lauro appears to have leading claims. A bumper winner at this track, the Gavin Cromwell-trained Kabylia looks a serious threat. Placed over hurdles and in a point-to-point, the mare has already shown a decent level of ability. Mile End and hurdling newcomer Kenisa Sport are also worthy of consideration in a competitive race for the grade.

BRAVE MISSION may have disappointed in the Britannia, but he looked promising before that when second over this distance at Ascot. Dropping 1lb will help matters for this well-bred son of Frankel and he is narrowly preferred to Up The Pace, who proved his 33/1 Ascot triumph was no fluke when following up at Doncaster. Narrowly denied over shorter at Goodwood, Eminency has to enter the equation, along with recent course winner Saxonia and Sterling Knight.

Preference is for UP THE PACE (nap) who brings impressive stats, being 3-4 in handicaps and 2-2 since ridden by Kieran Shoemark.

Although he has a bit to find on official ratings, SAINT PEREGRINE could be worth chancing. Twice runner-up over hurdles to date, the six-year-old looks open to improvement after just the seven career starts. Perhaps the application of first-time cheekpieces can help him open his account in this very winnable contest. Point-to-point winner Half Past Tipsy has already shown a fair degree of promise since switching to racing under Rules. Upped in trip with a first-time tongue-tie, she is certainly one to keep a close eye on. Sugar Cookie has yet to replicate her debut run for previous connections, but it is far too early to write her off.

Muker went in by a neck in a tougher event at Doncaster last week and is a previous C&D winner to take seriously, but the vote goes to FORAGER. Simon Pearce' filly completed a course-and-distance double on her most recent outing and she may have been worth more than the winning margin suggests on that occasion. With just a 6lb higher rating to contend with, she can complete the hat-trick. Copper Knight and Brazen Bolt are others to consider.

Umpteen possibles but CASTAN is doing little wrong this year and can win again. Looking For Lynda is the risky next best.

BILLIE FRECHETTE could be the answer to this maiden hurdle. She arrives in winning form after delivering on the Flat at Down Royal last month. Her runner-up spot over flights at Downpatrick in May has been well franked by the winner and third home. The 120-rated Luker's Tipple ought to have every chance of making the breakthrough. He has been runner-up no less than three times in this discipline, including at this track in January. Dschingis Dragon has winning form on the level in France, but fell when tried over hurdles in Punchestown. She is not one to write off.

Gordon Elliott's consistent gelding Boston Rajj is sure to be on the premises once again. A winner at Sligo last month, the seven-year-old finished runner-up either side of that. Doing her best work towards the finish, the Tony Carroll-trained mare had enough in hand to suggest reverting to 7f won't be an issue and she can brush she can aside a 7lb higher rating with the same rider retained. King of The Dance and Poetic Force can chase her home.

It may be worth chancing MY CLEMENTINE who let her supporters down last time, but is 1lb lower than when winning over C&D a year ago.

Crowd Quake is undoubtedly in the form of his life after making it five wins out of his last six starts at Newmarket last month, but a 6lb higher mark makes life harder. With that in mind, SECRET BEACH gets the vote. The four-year-old finished just under three lengths clear of the third when hitting the woodwork at Newbury last time and is just 2lb higher. With a tidier start from the stalls and this extra furlong aiding his cause, he looks the way to go. Road To Wembley is another to consider.

None of his races this season have panned out too favourably and PROMETHEAN might be ready for today's step up in distance.

SUNNY SOUTH WEST created a good impression in bumpers and is of definite interest on his hurdling debut. In between winning bumpers in Clonmel and by a wide margin at Tipperary, he wasn't outclassed in fifth in a Grade 1 at Punchestown. He could have a bright future if taking to flights. Harry's Legacy has shown more than enough to suggest he could land a summer maiden hurdle, while That Danny Feeling was a ready winner of a Killarney bumper in May. Eternal Angel is one for a market check having joined Ellmarie Holden from Nicky Henderson. Crooked Tannie has plenty of placed form to advertise his chance, but has been off for the guts of a year.

HARRY'S LEGACY sets a fair standard and his hurdling experience could see him come through.

CHAMPION ISLAND comfortably got off the mark on his first go over 7f at Chelmsford last time out and a mark of 77 for his nursery debut looks manageable. A determined winner over shorter at Newcastle most recently, Sir Albert must enter calculations for in-form connections. Steel Drum produced a career-best effort when second at Kempton and can continue to go the right way.

This is a tight call between Champion Island, Steel Drum and SIR ALBERT but the vote goes to Andrew Balding's colt.

While almost certainly a better chaser, FREDDIE ROBDAL is hard to get away from here. A three-time winner over fences, the Henry De Bromhead-trained gelding was successful at this venue on his penultimate start. Rated 16lb lower back over hurdles, the eight-year-old has to be respected. Despite having a somewhat mixed career over flights, the son of Valirann did manage to reach the frame on three occasions and, on a track where he is already a winner, it might be worth giving him another chance. Bestaline had rather lost her way under Rules before being reignited in point-to-points. It will be interesting to see if she can transfer that back to the track. Minority Interest is another to consider.

MINORITY INTEREST is less exposed than most in this field and could be the one to be on if fit after his absence.

BLOOMING LEGEND's recent third-placed finish in a 7f maiden at Lingfield reads well and the Charlie Clover-trained filly looks the way to go given she has the potential to make good strides if building on what she has shown so far. Eschweiler has a progressive profile and also warrants close inspection after finishing a clear second to an upwardly mobile rival at Epsom last week. Maskatto and Halla Bil Zain are others to consider.

PRINCE OF AIR can double his total over hurdles. He has been chasing for the bulk of the past two years and clocked up three victories in that time before returning to flights in Wexford last week. He ran a very solid race in second, off his much lower hurdles mark, and was only collared in the closing stages. Tuckmill is effectively racing off a mark of 93 with his rider's claim factored in, which makes him a leading player. Romella won over hurdles at Thurles last year, which gives her a chance, while Ballykinlar and Amron Diamond are others with chances.

A case can be made for plenty with, PRINCE OF AIR preferred having gone very close from his reduced hurdle mark last week

CALICO BLUE improved from his first to his second start to score comfortably over C&D and a 6lb penalty for that success may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. A promising fourth, despite a tardy start, on debut at Redcar in May, Blazing is open to improvement, along with Baybe Driver, who wasn't disgraced when third over 5f at Goodwood.

Blazing can do better, but WICKSEY may well be up to the job on debut from a handy draw for a yard that does well with 2yos here.

An impressive winner at this track in September, LOUP DE TALLANE can record a second course victory. Third at Wexford on his reappearance last month, the Eoin Griffin-trained gelding is sure to be sharper for that run. Connections may have had this meeting in mind for the nine-year-old given his previous success here. The Noel Kelly-trained Bringsty has to be of interest on just his second start in handicap company. A five-time winner on the level, the gelding shaped with promise when mid-division at Perth last time. Telnobody and To The Wire are interesting contenders for Ross O'Sullivan and Philip Rothwell respectively.

Not too many appeal but the 5yo TELNOBODY is progressing nicely and could be the one to be on

MIAKODA improved when second over 6f here last month, where the addition of a tongue-tie and visor combination was a source of improvement. Back over this longer trip and with the headgear package retained, James Owen's three-year-old must have every chance of going one better in a race that isn't significantly stronger. Mighty Real is still unexposed over 7f and has the potential to be a key player. The in-form Banksman is also feared despite a rising mark.

Preference is for ON A VESPA (nap) who appeared to cross the line full of running after getting no run at Lingfield last time.

COLLEEN DANU ran a more-than-creditable race when fourth in a much higher grade at Clonmel and, prior to that, she swept home by five lengths at the same track. She can go in again but there are several dangers. Terence O'Brien's Nytol has been in good form this year, with runner-up berths banked at Limerick and this track, and she took the honours on her last visit here in May. She is proven over further and John Shinnick knows her well. Killinure Lass delivered over fences in Tramore at the end of May and is a C&D winner, so has to be respected. There was promise in Ballinearla Girl's fourth on handicap debut at Listowel last month.

The six-year-old mare stayed on well to take minor honours after the final flight and it would be no surprise to see Thomas O'Connor make plenty of use of her proven stamina on this occasion. A winner over fences at Roscommon recently, Ardfert Mary reverts to hurdles off 2lb lower than her revised chase rating. Despite failing to score in 17 previous attempts at this discipline, she arrives in winning form. County Champs, who has been getting closer to a breakthrough success, has to be considered for trainer Brian McMahon.

It is surely significant that Willie Mullins runs just SPANISH HARLEM in one of the bigger races of the summer. Fourth in the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown in April, the seven-year-old registered a first win over fences when reverting to novice company at Punchestown last month. The fact that the champion trainer has elected to run only the one horse here suggests that connections must feel the gelding is well handicapped. The seven-year-old scored over C&D in September last year and could be poised to strike. Alice's Impact won at Brighton last time out and may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Soi Dao, who should appreciate this drop into 0-60 company.

The combination of trip, ground and use of claiming rider tip the balance SOI DAO's way, with Alice's Impact feared most.

PRAIRIE DANCER could land his fifth race over flights. He has been an excellent horse for connections, with 10 career successes across all codes. A victory in the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Series at the Curragh last month should leave him cherry-ripe for this small-field assignment. He appreciates good ground. The 11-year-old Happy Jacky won this race last year and represents a stable in good form. There was a lot to like about his third in a valuable handicap on the Flat at the Curragh in June and he's certainly a big player. Tag Man couldn't live with the winner when second at Wexford in May and first-time cheekpieces are applied.

This could be a good opportunity for HAPPY JACKY (nap) to get his head back in front after some big runs over this trip last summer

In a race where Willie Mullins has three strong contenders, it is surely significant that Paul Townend has opted for YOU OUGHTA KNOW. A smart bumper horse, connections wasted little time over hurdles, switching the gelding to fences after just the three starts over the smaller obstacles. An early casualty on his chasing debut at Tipperary in May, the seven-year-old ran a big race when second at this track last month. Granted normal improvement, he should be hard to beat. With an official rating of 130, No Time To Wait sets a fair standard. Highly tried on occasion, the Walk In The Park gelding is a smart sort when at his best. Topgun Simmy can also make his presence felt.

However, SAVANNAH SMILES also won over course and distance last week, when emphatically beating a previous winner, and Grace Harris' sprinter looks worth sticking with on the strength of that form. Stalingrad has won over 6f at the track and it would be no surprise if he bounced back off a favourable mark.

This may lie between the two last-time C&D scorers, with the unpenalised SAVANNAH SMILES narrowly preferred over Darkened Edge.

AODHA'S ARROW was noted finishing well for a never-nearer fourth on debut at this track in May. All three horses in front of her that day have delivered since and she could become the next winner. Downpatrick runner-up Beir Bua couldn't land a glove on the winner, but that horse is highly thought of so it was a fair effort on debut. Isabella Johnson has been picking up place money and is far from out of contention, while Jody Townend is a good booking for Mercurial Sea. Salsinha is a newcomer well worth checking for market strength and similar sentiments apply to Miss Guiry, who has plenty of winners in her pedigree.

Fourth in a C&D bumper on debut that worked out very strongly, AODHA'S ARROW can improve enough to score today.

Abbey Heights has struck in two of his last three outings and is likely to have his supporters, but with both victories coming on the all-weather and an awkward draw in stall seven, it may be best to side with NAZRON. Ivan Furtado's four-year-old was just touched off in a stronger event at this venue last month and the assessor might have let him off lightly with just a 2lb rise. With a similar performance, he will prove tough to beat. Maharajas Express is another to note.
