The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Dickensian, Inca Heights and Super Soldier all made winning debuts and should have plenty more to offer. However, each has the burden of a penalty and are outshone on pedigree by WISE APPROACH. The Godolphin-owned colt is a half-brother to Perfect Power, who won the Norfolk over C&D as juvenile before going on to land three Group 1s (including the 2022 Commonwealth Cup) in a stellar career. Having cost 1,000,000gns as a yearling, the sky is the limit for this son of Mehmas.

This could be a good race. WISE APPROACH is a half-brother to top 2yo Perfect Power and this son of Mehmas cost a lot of money.

11/1(-10%) | (11) Witch Hunter 11/1, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; slowly away beaten 9l in Doncaster Mile (Listed) at Doncaster last time; usually consistent; frustrating type; track suits; will be staying on but losing run a concern Fourth in last year's Queen Anne; frame possibilities if taking well to blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (14/1 +13%)Harper's Ferry |
14/1(+13%) | (5) Harper's Ferry 14/1, Raced freely beaten 7l in a handicap at Newmarket last time; usually consistent; may not relish fast ground; straight mile should suit; needs to improve up in grade May rate higher still; looks more interesting than the bare figures suggest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Docklands tends to go well here and has a decent enough record when fresh to enter calculations, as he drops in class for his first run with a tongue-tie added. However, this is deeply competitive, with any number capable of having a big impact. WITCH HUNTER is certainly one of those and perhaps this could be the ideal time to catch the six-year-old. Harper's Ferry, Checkandchallenge and Phantom Flight are other serious players.

Back down in grade on his debut for a new yard, UNQUESTIONABLE gets the vote ahead of Sardinian Warrior and Docklands.

4th (3) (6/1 +50%)Feigning Madness |
6/1(+50%) | (3) Feigning Madness 6/1, Probably needed race fourth beaten 7l in Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes (Group 3) over 12f at Newbury latest; step up in trip may suit; minor chance but could do with some rain Bottom of this pack on form but very lightly raced and he may have staying potential. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

COLTRANE has won the last two renewals of this contest and is fancied to take centre stage to complete the hat-trick. The son of Mastercraftsman won the 2023 edition fresh from a break and his credentials are very hard to ignore given he is well clear of the rest on the official ratings. Yashin still doesn't have too many miles on the clock and can put up a fight if revitalised on his first start after wind surgery. Feigning Madness is less exposed than Divine Comedy and appeals the most from that pair.

This race has brought the best out of COLTRANE in each of the last two seasons and he's taken to land a Sagaro hat-trick.

10th (8) (4/1 -33%)Electrolyte |
4/1(-33%) | (8) Electrolyte 4/1, Won Prix Eclipse (Group 3) at Chantilly by a nose last time; narrowly denied in Coventry on fast ground over C&D last summer; top course jockey; may contend Went very close in the Coventry over C&D last June; reappears with yard in fine form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

ELECTROLYTE returns to the fray with leading claims after he signed off last season with a Group 3 victory at Chantilly, while his excellent second in the Coventry here last summer offers further encouragement. Arabie showed smart form when winning a couple of Group sprints in France last term and has a recent outing under his belt, while Big Mojo finished a creditable fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint in November. Dash Dizzy could also prove competitive at this level.

Having impressed with the way he quickened to put the Listed Spring Cup to bed at Lingfield last month, REBEL'S GAMBLE earns the vote.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ISLE OF LISMORE won this contest last year and is 7lb lower now. He showed plenty of promise when fourth at Newmarket recently, and a bold bid looks to be on the cards from Robert Cowell's charge. Duran looks on a workable mark having returned to action with an encouraging second at Beverley. He can feature again, while Good Earth also showed up well at the same Beverley fixture and is another to consider.

Last year's winner Isle Of Lismore looks booked for a good run but DURAN is taken to build on his encouraging Beverley return.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

VICTORY QUEEN displayed plenty of promise when making a winning debut over a mile at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and Charlie Appleby's filly sets the standard on the back of that performance. Purple Rainbow took a step forward from her encouraging racecourse bow when getting off the mark at Kempton in January and she has to be noted on her return. Cases can be made for all of the remainder, but Breckenbrough and Gulya are the pick of them.

Most of the runners with experience have shown significant promise. GULYA and Victory Queen are particularly interesting prospects.

The unexposed My Cloud won a Newcastle novice event by 13 lengths when last seen in October and he has to be noted on his handicap bow. Mythical Guest and Talis Evolvere are others to consider.

Unexposed MY CLOUD (nap) is preferred. Class-droppers Toimy Son, Son and Talis Evolvere complete the shortlist.
Ths is the racecard key.
