8th (7) (125/1 -89%)Skyler |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Skyler 125/1, Not best trip down the field in a novice over 7f at Wolverhampton most recent; down in trip; needs to improve and one for handicaps after this Beaten 20l at odds of 250-1 at Wolverhampton only 12 days ago (7f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DAN TUCKER went down fighting to an 83-rated opponent on seasonal debut/first run since being gelded at Nottingham 22 days ago. Beaten less than a length in that race, the son of Dandy Man sets a decent standard and could be very tough to overhaul. El Pinto ran green in both starts as a juvenile but certainly showed ability. He resumes as a credible option. Mister Invincible and the newcomer Summerstorms Dream are others to monitor in the betting.

El Pinto is much respected on the strength of his second run but this still looks a golden opportunity for DAN TUCKER.

6th (6) (2/1 +67%)Ski Angel |
2/1(+67%) | (6) Ski Angel 2/1, Won this last year; probably needed race beaten 2l off 47 at Musselburgh last time; goes well here; dropping in weights but losing run mounting up Won last year's renewal off 2lb higher mark and went on to win again at Musselburgh.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Ski Angel won this corresponding race off 2lb higher 12 months ago and, with Rhys Elliott claiming a further 5lb form the saddle, is dangerous to underestimate. However, Michael Dods plays a strong hand with both King's Crown and NELSON GAY holding bigger chances. The latter shades a narrow vote, though, as he is potentially the better handicapped of the pair based on their peak ratings. Back Tomorrow is another for the shortlist.

There are questions over all the runners but SKI ANGEL won this race last year off 2lb higher. He is selected ahead of Sixcor.

9/1(-29%) | (5) Golden Valour 9/1, Yard won this last year; probably needed race beaten 5l in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; in good form prior; likes this venue; may contend Got off the mark on turf here last May and won again at Musselburgh in October.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Several old rivals come together and there is little to choose between any of them on past form. However, INANNA could be worth forgiving Monday's effort over 6f as she was too keen for her own good and failed to show her true colours as a result. Running off just 3lb above her last winning mark, Jim Golidie's mare is well worth another chance. Clasina and Darbucks should be on the premises, while Golden Valour likes it here and can also go well.

All of these ran moderately last time except for CLASINA who was an unlucky fourth. The main danger is C&D winner Darbucks.

5/1(+38%) | (5) Young Fire 5/1, Beaten 6l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; this much easier; generally out of form but slipping in weights; not out of it though strike rate a worry Should be very well handicapped but recent efforts have been none too encouraging. |

4th (2) (11/2 +8%)Dingwall |
11/2(+8%) | (2) Dingwall 11/2, Raced freely down the field in a handicap over 8f at Newcastle most recent; went too fast that day; C&D winner; up in trip; in the mix Capable of being involved provided he breaks on terms but that's a big if. |

11/4(+45%) | (4) Laudable 11/4, Below par well beaten in a handicap over 12f at Newcastle latest; down in trip; returning from a break; completed hat trick last autumn; handicapper relenting; may just need this Signed off last season below par but if back on his game after a break he'd be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (66/1 -32%)Lunar Rocks |
66/1(-32%) | (7) Lunar Rocks 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Carlisle latest; regressive in both codes; down in trip; off a short-break; bit to find Placed on Flat but poor over hurdles this winter and seems to have lost her way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Glasses Up proved he retains plenty of enthusiasm at the ripe age of 10 when a game winner over 1m5f here on Monday, and Mike Smith's gelding merits respect under the penalty. That being said, he might prefer further nowadays and preference is afforded to LAUDABLE. Running on the all-weather over the winter yielded mixed results for the son of Havana Gold, but he will relish the return to turf and his current mark is well within range. Penelope's Sister is also noted.

The penalised GLASSES UP is already the winningmost Flat horse at this course and he has every chance of following up Monday's win.

2/1(+27%) | (2) Braes Of Doune 2/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 2 1/4l off 61 at Doncaster last time; top course jockey/trainer combination; goes well here; usually held up; consistent; contender Fourth on reappearance at Doncaster five days ago but is 6lb above his last winning mark.. |

6th (4) (16/1 -33%)Cisco Disco |
16/1(-33%) | (4) Cisco Disco 16/1, Below par beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap at Musselburgh last time; inconsistent; dropping in weights but on long losing run; risky Went very close over C&D in October but hasn't won since October 2022.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ALFIE BOY was in command when defeating Hostelry (second) at Beverley recently and, if arriving in a similar mood today, he ought to hold every chance of defying the 5lb penalty for that success. The latter is expected to keep him honest, though, but a bigger threat might come from Braes Of Doune. Jim Goldie's gelding shaped with promise on his return to action at Doncaster on Saturday and appears likely to enter calculations.

Having made all to beat Hostelry at Beverley last Thursday, ALFIE BOY (nap) can confirm the placings.

3rd (4) (15/8 +17%)Zephlyn |
15/8(+17%) | (4) Zephlyn 15/8, Well backed when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 57 over 2m at Newcastle last time; down in trip; consistent; threat but holds no secrets from handicapper All wins on the AW, including last time; fine on turf and races prominently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 +8%)Inspire Hope |
6/1(+8%) | (2) Inspire Hope 6/1, Yard won this last year; below par fourth beaten 11l in a novice over 12f at Newcastle latest; in decent form over hurdles prior; not proven trip; bit to find Useful winning hurdler and now making her handicap debut on the Flat. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Marbuzet bumped into an improver when filling the runner-up spot at Redcar last time out and Tim Easterby's charge is of interest from an unchanged mark. Zephlyn was on target over the extended 2m at Newcastle in March and that proven stamina is to his advantage, for all that earlier turf efforts will need to be improved upon. With that in mind, a chance is taken on INSPIRE HOPE. Completely unexposed on the Flat, she doesn't look overburdened by an opening mark of 66, though it is the step up in trip that could hold the key.

Tim Easterby's MARBUZET ran perfectly well on his recent reappearance and he's off his last winning mark.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
