Having shown definite improvement from his first to second run, KASPER HAUSER can take this for trainer Kevin Coleman. A promising fourth on his hurdling debut at Tipperary, the grey came forward from that introduction to fill the runner-up spot at Killarney last time. With the benefit of those two previous outings to call upon, the Mastercraftsman gelding should prove too strong for the newcomers. Magnolia Drive, a recent winner on the Flat for Joseph O'Brien, has to be respected on his first start over hurdles. Second on the level here in June, the son of Gleneagles acts around the tight track. Hopes Are High is another capable of getting involved if taking to jumping.

FELICITY SMOAK may be able to reverse Killarney placings with Kasper Hauser and Cinammon Coco on this quicker ground

This looks a nice opportunity for the Tom Gibney-trained LEAVE IN SECRET to register the first win of his career. Although somewhat disappointing when down the field on his handicap debut at Galway last month, the six-year-old had been consistent in this grade prior to that. A 107-rated gelding, the son of Elusive Pimpernel has acquired plenty of experience which should stand to him in this company. Tramore runner-up Onyx Storm should be capable of better, having only got as far as the first flight on her next appearance at Kilbeggan. Lightly raced, the Paul Hennessy-trained mare has to enter calculations. Third over course and distance recently, Rememberthename is another with leading claims.

The 107-rated LEAVE IN SECRET has plenty of experience and faces lesser opposition than when running in a Galway festival handicap

11/2(+50%) | (9) St Anthonys Corner 11/2, Outpaced when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Sligo most recent; usually consistent; off a short-break; likely wants further Course winner, good fourth here in April, poor a month later at Sligo, off since, watch. |

Dual Flat winner DESERT HAVEN looks to have strong claims of opening his account over hurdles. Runner-up at this track in May, the Noel Meade-trained five-year-old is only 3lb higher on his return visit. Lightly raced over jumps, the son of Oasis Dream remains open to further improvement. Son Of Hypnos had been largely out of form, prior to running well on two occasions at the recent Galway Festival. Dropping in grade here, the eight-year-old has to be competitive under James Smith. A winner here on his penultimate start, Tomas O Maille also has his chance if coping with the shorter trip.

The most obvious one is DESERT HAVEN who ran a blinder over C&D in May and he may be able to get his head in front off 3lb higher

Well supported when down the field at Kilbeggan last month, the Noel Kelly-trained BRINGSTY is worth another chance. A five-time winner on the Flat, the Muhaarar gelding had shaped with plenty of promise when mid-division at Perth on his previous start. Undoubtedly well handicapped over flights, the seven-year-old is not one to write off on the back of that one bad run. Recent course and distance winner Only One Plan should again be competitive off just 4lb higher. Conor Owens gets on well with the son of Retirement Plan. Second on his handicap debut at Killarney last time, the Joseph O'Brien-trained Shaboozee should be capable of making his presence felt.

If jumping more fluently than when second at Killarney in his second handicap, SHABOZEE has prospects of going one place better.

COUMEENOOLE is a lightly-raced six-year-old who ran well in a recent staying maiden hurdle and gets the vote on handicap debut. Winner of his point-to-point on debut in May 2024, he was subsequently sold for 180,000 pounds and while his initial hurdles form was unexciting, showed more on his return following a break at Wexford last month. Dorans Law is rated 114 over fences having won at Wexford last month so is interesting reverting to hurdles, under a 7lb claimer. Dour stayer Sphagnum is rated 131 over fences but lacks a recent run.

Sharpened by a good run over a shorter trip at the Galway festival, JOLIEE JEWEL has solid form course to her name and gets the vote

Nine-year-old OCEAN OF MERCY has raced just seven times but showed some of his old ability on a first run for 956 days back in May. A useful type in 2021/22, his career has been blighted by setbacks but he's back now and could be suited by stepping up to this distance. Vroomvroomboo has reasonable recent handicap form, while point-to-point winner Sharing Is Caring showed some ability at Stratford last month.

The top-rated 9yo OCEAN OF MERCY showed that he still retained some ability at Limerick and this step up in trip will suit

MEPHISTO makes a quick reappearance under a 7lb penalty having won at Wexford on Friday and has solid claims. He tries this distance for the first time but having previously stayed 2m quite well on the Flat, he should cope with the extra yardage. Le Grand Vert was well beaten at Wexford over fences last month but that was his first run for 138 days and he had previously scored over fences at Ayr. Potentially well treated back over hurdles, he's noted along with Zolpharine.

Providing this does not come a bit soon after Friday's success at Wexford, MEPHISTO has good prospects of defying a penalty
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
